Music Analysis Essay
First Selection: The Stars and Stripes Forever John Philip Sousa (1854 1932)
First Hearing
Cheerful, Eventful, Very Exciting
Second Hearing
Sousa created a marching band that was organized like the European marching band. The music
makes me feel exciting like I am at a parade, and they have a marching band perform this song.
Third Hearing
A marching band of numerous brass instruments (piccolos, flutes, oboes, clarinets, bassoons,
saxophones, trumpets, coronets, euphoniums, trombones, Sousaphones, tubas and percussion) are
being played throughout the song and creating a marching beat of duple meter.
The dynamic is contrasting because the loudness of the instruments is continuingly changing.
The texture is both polyphony and homophony ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The tempo is fast until the middle of the song where it slows down. It then increases the speed back to
fast.
Second Selection: Le bananier Louis Moreau Gottschalk
First Hearing
Showy, admirable, dark
Second Hearing
The composer wrote this charming piece of music because he knows the audience likes showy pieces.
It was based on the appeal of tunes he heard during his childhood. I enjoy the sound of the piano being
played, and I loved how the composer uses it to make this very admirable piece.
Third Hearing
This beautiful sound of music is being played by a piano. The piano was an excellent choice of
instrument because it brings the sound of tunes that the audience enjoys.
The dynamics is loud then it changes to louder at parts. When I first listen to it, it made me jump a
little due to the fact it caught me off guard.
The tempo is fast throughout the song.
The tone color is dark in a way that is exciting.
The harmony has both minor and major key being played. Minor keys are being played first then in
the middle of the song, the pianist used the major keys.
The centerpiece has a melody that is based off of Creole

Essay on The Early Renaissance
The Early Renaissance
Today, what is considered to be the modern times began with the Early Renaissance at the start of the
15th century. As time has progressed, things have modified within societies to mold with the new
ways of thinking for that time. Between the years of the 1400 s and the 1800 s this world has
undergone many changes. Focusing on Europe, the major forces of change were in politics,
economics, and religion. In modern European history political effort were supplied by the state. Early
in the 15th century political warfare was the theme of everyday life. It was not until the Peace of Lodi

Banking was over run by the Germans. Trade in the East came to an end with the fall of
Constantinople. By the end of the 16th century, economics had shifted from the Mediterranean to the
Atlantic with the Spanish discovery of the New World. With this trade shift the worldwide economy
was in the makings. In the 17th century mercantilism is very prominent. Things such as state granted
monopolies, regulated exports and imports, tariffs, custom duties, quotas, slavery, colonial taxes, and
plantation system were in full effect. By the 18th century, a supply and demand economy had
produced. Through mercantilism, state regulations lowered the living standards of workers. The every
day lives that were led in modern Europe where primarily surrounded by religious ideas. In the times
of the 15th century, religion in Europe revolved around the religious beliefs of the Papal Court.
Though there were many religious battles over the Church, few doubted the Church, following its
every demand. By the 16th century, many began to challenge that of the Papal State. People felt that
the beliefs and efforts of the Church had traveled way off track, and was in need of some repair.
Martin Luther began the radical attempt to fix what had gone wrong within the Papal State by posting
his Ninety five Theses upon the door of the Wittenberg University. The outcome of Luther s efforts
supplied Europe with beginnings

False Eyewitness Testimony Research Paper
Alaa Mohamed
(False Eyewitness)
Is the eyewitness testimony is correct and true all the time or not?
The Eyewitness testimony has been used for a long time as evidence in a crime scene. Many
psychologists tried to answer the question if the eyewitness testimony is correct and true all the time
or not. This research study done by STARR (2012) addresses that eyewitness memory can be changed
depends on the satiation and what kind of question that we ask the eyewitness during the police
investigations or in the court room. While STARR s article raises timely and important issue, he
included a good scientific research explaining how false eyewitness could be.
Several studies have examined the eyewitness testimony and how that could not be accurate

Explosive Traces and Forensic Analysis
Explosives are used for a variety of applications from military operations to mining. However, these
materials can also be used in criminal investigations such as terrorists who threaten harm or cause
death and destruction. Explosives can be categorised into two main forms: high explosives and low
explosives. High explosives are explosive materials that detonate. This means that the explosive shock
passes through the material at a speed, faster than the speed of sound. High explosives generally
detonate with an explosive velocity ranging from 3 to 9 km/s. Low explosive are compounds where
the rate of decomposition proceeds through the material at a speed less than the speed of sound. The
decomposition is spread by a flame. This is known as deflagration. Under normal conditions, low
explosives undergo deflagration at rates varying from a few centimetres per second to roughly 400
metre per second. It is possible for low explosives to deflagrate extremely quickly producing an effect
which is similar to detonation of high explosives. This usually occurs when ignited in a confined space
and can happen due to high pressure or high temperatures. The detection and/or identification of trace
amounts of explosives is an important aspect of forensic investigations. Some methods of detection
can also identify the explosives, some cannot for example the use of canine detection, and the dog can
smell the explosive but cannot say what it is. Techniques for detection and identification

The Sans Culottes In The French Revolution
Did the Sans Culottes change the course of the French Revolution?
France,... ha[s] a great culture and an amazing history once said Johnny Depp and what he stated is

everyone will instantaneously know what you are speaking of. Yes, France is a very beautiful country,
but there were some extremely busy times in France s history. The French Revolution was one of the
immense occurrences in France and indeed there have been some horrid occasions. Many blame it on

One of the successful ways were the several revolts that occurred because of the women, who rioted in
the grocery and bakeries shops. The sans culottes had not yet completely given up on the use of
violent tactics to achieve their ends because they needed goods, which the first estate had. They
revolted with the lower estates a few times and accomplished their aim. Because of these actions, they
have been known as the rebels of various counter revolutionary risings . Nearly everyone, especially
the first estate and the major figures, at a certain point had enough of them, since they were getting out
of hand and were succeeding, they were naming them certain terms and attempting to persuade them,
by writing, that they should end their actions and that everything is useless. In a way the great figures
had enough of the Sans Culottes. This, again, certain people would say, is typical behaviour of people
if something doesn t go their way. Yes, but the Sans Culottes knew that if they carry out brutal
behaviour, they will achieve a large quantity of their aim, thus gain power. Brutality for them was the
only method that worked. They are not showing their unhappiness because something didn t go their
way through brutality. Brutality is their only method for achievement because otherwise no one would

Kathryn Mary
I ve written before about my younger sister, Kathryn Mary, who was born on September 13, 1972.
Within a couple of days of her birth, her doctors discovered that she had Down syndrome and a heart
defect that was going to eventually need to be corrected with open heart surgery.
Unfortunately, Kathryn never got to a point where she had enough strength and stamina to withstand a
surgery. She was so weak that she was never able to turn herself over or crawl on the floor. She gained
very little weight during the 13 months that she was with us. She died on October19, 1973.
Kathryn was with us for only one Christmas, and there is only one thing that I remember about that
day. My grandfather, Tom Williams, came over to our house and when he saw my mom holding
Kathryn, he said in a loud voice, She s the best Christmas present you could ever ask for. You should
wrap a red bow around her and forget about all the other presents.
Shortly after the birth of our little Christmas present, one of her doctors told my parents that children
who are born with Down syndrome have a great love of and appreciation for music. The doctor
encouraged my parents to play music for Kathryn as often as possible. My mom did what the doctor
told her to do and played soothing music as often as possible, especially when she was trying to calm
Kathryn down or put her to sleep.
Although it s been more than 40 years since Kathryn died and went to heaven, I still think of her when
I consider the impact that music

(AC 1.1) Why Hilfiger Have to develop international marketing
International marketing is a most renowned concept in today s globalized world. It is the application
of marketing principles in more than one country. Hilfiger should develop international marketing for
the following reasons:
New revenue potential: New market share will indeed generate more profit. If we are able to
successfully introduce our product in other countries then it will help us to grab more revenue
potential. Since clothing is one of the basic needs as well as luxury so international marketing is not be
too risky for us. (Anon, 1978)
Learning a new culture: International marketing is crucial in learning a new culture. If our company
go for international marketing then the company will experience and learn the culture of that country
which may cost us. Because we may produce some products which may fail but this will help us in
long run to go for another market of same nature in a very cost effective way. The experience of our
company in dealing with a new culture will increase. (Anon, 1978)

The spam detection has different domains including Web (Castillo et al., 2006), Email (Chirita,
Diederich, Nejdl, 2005), and SMS (Karami Zhou, 2014a, 2014b). The problem of opinion spam was
raised by investigating supervised learning techniques to detect fake reviews (Jindal Liu, 2008). Lim

products or product groups to maximize impact (Lim, Nguyen, Jindal, Liu, Lauw, 2010). Using
machine learning techniques is one of the popular approaches in online review spam detection. Some
examples are employing standard word and part of speech (POS) n gram features for supervised

The Iranian Revolution
Longevity and positive outcomes are what determine whether a revolution is successful or not. This is
not the case for Iran. Since the revolution, Iran has been economically, politically, and socially
unstable. With an economy dependent on oil, a natural source whose production is unpredictable,
stability is simply unattainable. With the same leader for a long period of time, not much can change
politically. Oppositions and revolts can happen and disrupt the social lives of Iranian citizens.
Although the Iranian Revolution was politically successful by maintaining an Islamic Republic, the
revolution was unsuccessful because of the severe economic failure it was in the long term and the
social unrest it still has today.
The revolution of 1979 marked the beginning of Iran s economic decay and even further economic
instability. Before the revolution, Iran had one of the Middle East s most advanced economies.
Petroleum exports, which make up about 85 percent of government revenues, have decreased over the
years after the revolution (Trading Economics). In fact, petroleum exports declined to 1.5 million
barrels per day in 2012 from 2.5 million barrels per day in 2011 (Trading Economics). The Iranian
government s dependence on oil revenues has resulted in persistent financial instability. Because of
this financial instability, Iran s inflation rate was greatly affected. The inflation rate is the rate of
change of prices calculated on a monthly or annual basis. In January 2014,

The Great Chicago Fire By Robert Cromie
The Great Chicago Fire was a historical narrative written by Robert Cromie in 1958, a little less than
100 years after the fire took place. Robert Cromie had many accomplishments to be proud of, since he
was a war correspondent, a sports journalist, a columnist, a book editor/author, and a radio and
television host. His radio and television shows were about books and authors, and they gained him
numerous writing and broadcasting awards. In 1936, he joined the Chicago Tribune staff as a writer

The book first starts off by describing the current state of Chicago in 1871. Chicago was extremely
dry during that year and in fact, many fires had occurred recently in the Windy City before the Great
Chicago Fire. Cromie describes the city as an enormous artificial forest, drying out in a sun heated
oven (pg 9), since almost everything was made out of wood, from the pine block paving, to fences of
pine, to wooden roofs. Chicago also was filled with warehouses with wooden shelves, lumber mills,
and paint and varnish shops that contained inflammable items. On page 11, Cromie stated that,
Chicago specialized in the production, handling, and storage of combustible goods . All this
information showed how easily a fire could spread; Chicago was almost asking for a terrible fire to
happen. The cause of the fire is still uncertain today, but it has been speculated about by many
researchers. Cromie chose to write about the legend of Mrs. O Learys cow. Although Mrs. O Leary
denied any accusations towards her, many people still blamed her cow, who could have knocked over
a gas lantern inside a wooden shed near her house. On October 8, 1871 the flame started somewhere
near the O Learys house, and the Great Chicago Fire began and spread rapidly. There were many
firefighters that were on call that October night, but all their efforts were

The Discovery Of The Tomb Of King Tutankhamun
The discovery of the tomb of King Tutankhamun has answered many questions and solved many
mysteries about the life of people in Ancient Egypt. However, the life and death of the boy king is still
a mystery itself. For example, one continual argument and mystery is how King Tut died. Although
there are many opposing theories, King Tutankhamen died because he was already weak from genetic
diseases, then broke his leg, which got infected and caused King Tut to die.
King Tutankhamun was an Egyptian pharaoh that had an early death. He was born circa 1341 B.C.E.
and was the 12th pharaoh of the 18th dynasty (King Tut Biography). His main impact on Egypt was
restoring the main polytheistic religion of Ancient Egypt (King Tut Biography). His father, Akhenaten,
whose name translates to he who works for Aten, wanted Egypt to become monotheistic (King Tut
Biography). He wanted all of Egypt to only worship Aten, instead of the pantheon of gods they had
previously worshipped (King Tut Biography). Egyptian society went into chaos and Akhenaton was
probably forced to abdicate the throne. (King Tut Biography). When Tutankhamun was born, he was
originally called Tutankhaten, meaning living image of Aten, but he eventually changed his name to
Tutankhamun, meaning the living image of Amun (Meaning of Akhenaten and King Tut Biography).
Converting Egypt to polytheism was the main impact of King Tutankhamen in Egypt. King
Tutankhamun came to power in Egypt very young. He probably became

The Dalai Lama continued to send delegations to both neighboring counties and also countries of
significant power, but all of the Dalai Lama s attempts went ignored, as China was at the time, of great
power and consequence, and an important contribution to trade. Therefore powerful countries did not
get involved with Tibet, in the fear of provoking influential China.
While the Dalai Lama remained in Tibet, his life was at stake. Tibet slowly went into a cataclysmic
effect of destruction and disorder. The freedom of speech was now lost to the Tibetan people, freedom
marches and movements were banned, the result in not complying with this unjust system was death
or brutal imprisonment for years at a time. Even though these protests were violently suppressed by
the Communist government and martial law was imposed in 1989, demonstrations against Chinese
rule have nevertheless continued.
Following Tibet s Liberation, Mao Zedong immediately established the Seventeen Point System,
which totally eliminated Tibet s past independence. Since then, almost one and a half million people in

figures have shocked the world and brought about a great sense of remorse and compassion towards

The causes of court delays in Malta are attributable to...
Court delays had already existed during the British Colonial period and while some delays are
considered as necessary, many people consider these delays as totally unacceptable. Numerous articles
are found online or on newspapers with regard to this issue and some people argue that the prolonging
of court delays is in breach of the fundamental right to a fair hearing in a reasonable time. These
delays relate to a variety of factors which to a certain extent are attributable to the procedure adopted
in the court. However, other factors such as the legal history, culture and social relations should also
be taken into consideration. During the Colonial period, the Maltese had resisted legal and judicial
interventions by the British authorities and this seems to affect the way we see the lawyer s
professional role today. At this point in time delays had already existed in civil litigation as the British
Royal Commission (1911) investigated these delays and it was in charge of reforms to the Maltese
judicial procedure. It focused mostly on the schedule followed by the courts for the hearing of cases.
Through these investigations, what emerged was that the system adopted for the hearing of civil cases
seemed to be based on the assumption that instead of a single session in which the case would be tried,
there would be a series of hearings, which could reach thirty or forty over a number of years and
which were usually separated from each other by periods of some three

The main objective of this experiment was to calculate the enthalpy of the reaction for the
decomposition of hydrogen peroxide as well as measure the heat capacity in regard to the
neutralization of a strong base and strong acid. Additionally, data was graphed in order to find the
change in time relating to temperature vs. time. A calorimeter was made so that the temperatures of
these reactions could be monitored and recorded, as well as allow us to complete calculations. Overall
the results proved to be decent as there was a percent error for enthalpy of only 7.63%, and it was
found that our calculations were accurate.

Social Media Discrimination In The Workplace
* Social media popularity is growing in today s society, from the spectrum of young age groups to
older generations. In response to this, a number of employers are searching through the Internet to
look future employees on their different social media accounts. Employers are required to follow
certain rules when using social media to help prevent discrimination. Discrimination can be
committed consciously or unconsciously, but regardless of which one, it can create major legal issues
in the workplace. Employers are faced with developing a method to hire someone with an unbiased
point of view. In many cases what the employer finds on social media can be false. There are a few
steps that an employer could consider to avoid any discrimination lawsuits. *
POLICY
In order to reduce/eliminate the risk of a claim of discrimination while in the hiring process, this
policy is set for the use of screening social media platforms of potential employees. This company is
committed to attracting, finding and hiring the best qualified candidates for its job openings. To
achieve this goal, we have developed the following policy concerning using social media in
recruitment as an enhancement to traditional recruitment methods.
All staff involved in screening and hiring are to be trained on applicable laws such as Title VII, the
ADEA, the ADA, GINA, the FCRA and any other similar or related state or federal laws.
All recruitment, whether traditional or incorporating social media, will

Youth Violence Essay
Youth Violence
Youth violence is an escalating problem in American society today. There are many different factors
that can be blamed for this problem. During the last decade of the twentieth century people began
searching for answers to this dilemma which is haunting America. Many tragic school shootings have
taken place within the last decade that have gained the attention of the public. As of now, no one can
give the right answer to the problem or the reason that it happens because there is no right answer yet
and nobody can be sure that they know the cause. All we have to go by are the opinions of different
people. The most popular cause of the problem of youth violence is the media. In The Erosion of

This statement brings up another opinion, the opinion that children s behavior stems from their parents
or elders behaviors. A young male, who is brought up in a violent household, is more likely to be
violent outside of the home. This idea brings us back to the saying monkey see, monkey do; what
children see is what they will do. Among our many solutions to youth violence is the idea that too
many guns are not the problem, but too few guns is the problem. The Colorado Legislature is currently
debating a bill to further enhance the state s conceal carry statute. Those backing the measure say that
a teacher or administrator with a concealed gun could have stopped, or greatly minimized, the
Littleton tragedy. (Lee 255) Lee says, Blaming guns for such incidents...is ludicrous. His solution to
our rising problem of youth violence is not censoring the media, but is bringing more guns in the
mainstream. This does not mean children walking around school armed. It means putting more guns
into the right hands. At first glance this proposals sounds pretty good. When one puts some thought
into it, it somewhat changes their perspective on the issue. Does this solution seem ethical; giving

I Just Wanna Be Average By Jean Anyon Analysis
Jean Anyon s essay and study of The Hidden Curriculum of Schools argues that the quality of
education you receive is solely based on your standing in the different levels of social classes in which
you were born into. Mike Rose s essay I Just Wanna Be Average confirms this hidden curriculum as he
recalls his misplacement into vocational school in which the parents of the students that attended
worked blue collar jobs. Mike Rose s essay confirms Jean Anyon s study in showing that your
education is heavily based upon the social class you are in. The lower you rank in social class the less
of an education you receive whereas students that rank higher receive a more quality education. Both
authors argue, correctly, that education should work ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There were a few teachers who worked hard at education... (...). He uses words such as dumping
ground and disaffected to how that the Vocational track education that Rose received relates closely to
the education of students in most working class schools. The teachers in this school were almost
always uninterested and untrained which then reflected onto the students. The same disinterest of
education that the teachers showed oftentimes reflected onto the students. The students in the
Vocational track rarely cared about making high marks or actually receiving a meaningful education
thus trapping them in the same unskilled jobs as their parents. If you re a working class kid in the
vocational track, the options you ll have to deal with this will be constrained in certain ways: you re
defined by your school as slow ; you re placed in a curriculum that isn t designed to liberate you but to
occupy you, or, if you re lucky, train you, though the training is for work the society does not esteem.

of higher classes, then morale amongst the students would have increased and encouraged the students
to do better and break the cycle of entrapment in low paying working class

Essay On Job Opportunities
Employment Opportunities The UCSD Career Center provides many opportunities to develop the
future careers of students, and one of those opportunities is student employment. The Port Triton
Portal is an online collection of all work opportunities for students, including jobs, internships, and
volunteering, including work study, where students can apply for jobs and employers can post job
listings. Although the Port Triton Portal is only accessible by students and potential employers, I
would guess that the jobs that are being offered include both on and off campus jobs, as well as full
time and part time jobs. Since students are still studying while working the jobs, I presume that most
of the job opportunities for students don t ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Apparently, the biology and natural science programs at UCSD is extremely popular, to the point
where they had to begin to regulate the amount of students that declared those majors, and the Scripps
Institution of Oceanography is something that I would like to attend, given the impacts of global
warming on sea life and the amount of resources that the school has.
Extracurricular Activities UCSD s intercollegiate athletics competes in NCAA Division II in the
California Collegiate Athletic Association conference, and they are the UC San Diego Tritons. For
their intercollegiate sports, they offer many men s and women s sports, from basketball to fencing to
water polo, and offer the same sports for both men and women for the most part, although men have
golf and baseball, while women have softball. In addition to intercollegiate athletics, UCSD offers
both intramural sports and club sports. Intramural sports are recreational sports that are open to
anyone, and allow athletes to compete in a friendly atmosphere. It costs $7 a quarter to play intramural
sports, but that $7 allows a student to participate in as many intramurals as they desire. The school
offers many different intramural sports, for men, women, and coed, allowing students to have fun and
socialize while playing a sport that they enjoy. Club sports is another form of intercollegiate athletics,
but it isn t on the same competitive scale as NCAA athletics, and allows

Headlines Sylvia Plath
Esther has seen or done many things that represent her and show how she has affected those around
her. Although there are many other examples, the headlines Joan mentions in chapter 16 are a prime
example of how Esther has affected people even those who are strangers. The headlines symbolize
Esther s exposure to the world and her impact on them. Plath developed the headlines by using Joan to
be the person to show them to Esther and explain to her how she had heard of her while she was gone.
Esther thinks that she is very secluded from the rest of the world and she only sees the pain and
darkness in her story. But what she does not see is that she is very exposed to the world and that other
people see a sensual story of a young woman who struggles to be herself. After Esther reads the
headlines she finally realizes this. She realizes that she inspires others and that maybe she can inspire
herself too. Maybe to even better herself and finally break free from society. Although Plath does not
gradually develop the headlines throughout the story, she still manages to make it a meaningful and
important symbol. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Achilles in The Illiad is not a Hero Essay
Achilles in The Illiad is not a Hero
In the introduction of the Essential Illiad given by Sheila Murnaghan, Achilles is labeled as the
greatest of the Greek heroes . In classic mythology a hero is a person of great strength and courage
celebrated for bold exploits and is often the offspring of a mortal and a god. Achilles was the greatest
fighter among the Greeks or Trojans and feared no man in battle. He was also the offspring of a mortal
and a god so by classic mythology definition, Achilles was indeed a hero. A hero is defined by the
present day Websters Dictionary as: one who inspires through manners and actions; an individual who
leads through personal example and accomplishments requiring bravery, skill, determination, ... Show

During that entire time, Achilles justification for wallowing in self pity is that he has been dishonored .
This argument becomes null and void when Agamemnon offers lavish compensation for the affront. In
addition to returning Briseis, Agamemnon offers Achilles seven unfired tripods, ten gold bars, twenty
burnished cauldrons, a dozen horses, seven beautiful women from Lesbos, twenty Trojan women, his
daughters hand in marriage along with a rich dowry, and the ownership of seven populous cities. Any
reasonable person would have taken the offer but not prideful, bitter Achilles. Instead he continues on
with the same old rhetoric and refuses to fight. As if standing idly by while his countrymen were being
killed was not enough, Achilles has his mother call in a favor to Zeus asking him to help the Trojans
so that even more Greeks would die during his absence. Not only did he abandon his comrades, he
actually prayed for them to die because his pride had been hurt.
In addition to the previously mentioned character flaws, one could argue that Achilles was also a
kidnapper, rapist and murderer. Briseis herself was a love slave. She was taken as a spoil of war from
one of the Greeks previous successful military campaigns. Even if she went willingly and made love
to Achilles willingly, it would be absolutely ludicrous to think that all of his other love slaves (he had
many) had such a good time. No one likes to be

Violence Next Door Analysis
The social stratification of people can be affected by many things. In most cases people are affected by
economic factors. In class we watched documentaries that shows different economic struggles and
other structural inequalities. The documentaries were Violence Next Door: Growing up in the Favelas
and The Other Side of Immigration. They both showed different economic factors from different
places. One of the documentaries we watched in class called Violence Next Door: Growing up in the
Favelas followed teenagers in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and Baltimore City, Maryland. The documentary
was made to show the lives of teens that live in what people call slums, ghettos, favelas, or the hood.

This documentary interviewed families from Mexico that have members who crossed the border to
The United States to find better labor opportunities. The border has been set to protect illegal
immigrants from crossing the border. Despite the protection of the borders, several Mexicans are able
to cross by being smuggled in or finding their own way in. They prefer to go to The U.S because they
get paid more per hour than they would earn in Mexico. They return after a couple of months and
sometimes years, but they cross the border because there are factors in Mexico that drive them away.
The economic factors that affects these families are NAFTA, government corruption, and lack of
technology and resources. The North American Free Trade Agreement is a treaty between Mexico, the
United States, and Canada. The trade agreement made costs of production higher for people in
Mexico. Importation of goods such as meats, fruits, and veggies started to come in from the United
States and caused loss of businesses in Mexico. The government in Mexico does not provide funding
for businesses to grow. Local officials don t share money provided by the government fairly. Subsidy
for businesses are difficult to find because their government don t notify people when funding is
available. The mayor is corrupted in a way that he bribes others for votes and picks certain people to
help. The government is also the reason why there is a lack of technology and resources for businesses
to grow. The business owners could not afford the technology for fast production like the United
States can provide. These economic factors affects the families that are left behind in Mexico while a
member crosses the border. Families are torn apart for months and sometimes years just so they can
make a better living from the money earned in the U.S. The children of families that cross the border

Maze Runner Movie Comparison
It may feel as though the modern cinematic climate is bursting with young adult book to film
adaptations, but in all actuality we don t get as many of these as might think, and we get even fewer
that are on this scale. We ve got The Hunger Games and The Maze Runner , which started off as
novelizations themselves, but they re on a much grander scale. Paper Towns is a more contained and
human story, which is often makes for a more comforting experience than watching people fight for
their lives.
Originally, it was Nicholas Sparks who held dominion over grounded novel to screen adaptations, but
it appears that John Green is looking to snatch the throne. The vast majority of humans fell in love

Not so much in the way that he scatters social media throughout his books, but more so in the sense
that he addresses the way situations, interactions and experiences have changed since the days of Walt
Whitman. Green often does this through the use of textual analysis and allusion, something that doesn
t exactly translate very well to the screen. Although, the screenwriters here did find a relatively savvy
way to incorporate such allusions into the film through the direct use of Walt Whitman s Leaves of
Grass (again, an aspect derived from the novel). This film specifically emphasizes idealism, seeing
something not as it is, but instead as what you d like it to be. The film asks you to look at the way you
view your work, life, relationships, and, like the film s title, your own town, and ponder why you see it
the way you do, is it out of idealism or realism? Paper Towns also touches on an epoch in someone s
life, specifically the final stretch of high school. Not in the cliché sense to where the protagonist doesn
t know exactly what he wants to do after high school, but more so in that he fears the freedom that will

Genetic Background Of 189 Ssd Lines
In GWBP, the association mapping was conducted on the different genetic background of 189 SSD
lines derived from a natural crossing between 11 parents (Côte d Or/1 is one of them). The linkage
disequilibrium and population structure of GWBP were described in detail by Sallam and Martsch
(2015). Because Sallam and Martsch (2015) and Sallam et al. (2015a) confirmed that GWBP has low
structure, we assume that GLM model fits with the analysis of association mapping. However, we
presented marker trait association using MLM+K for AUPSC, LTAF, and LTCF. The results of
association analysis revealed that 12 different significant markers were found to be associated with
AUSPC, LTAF, LCAF (Table 3). It was difficult to determine the contribution of each parent of the
GWBP (unlike BPP) because this population was derived from a natural crossing of 11 parents.
However, the number of alleles (for the 12 significant markers, Table 3) associated with decreased
frost stress symptoms in each founder line is presented in Figure S3A. This number ranged from four
alleles inherited from Banner/1 to ten alleles from L979/1. This indicates that L979/1 is the main
source of frost tolerance found in GWBP. Of 12 alleles, Côte d Or/1 had eight alleles that were
responsible for decreasing the effect of frost stress. Conversely, for each allele associated with a
decrease in frost stress symptoms, the number of founder lines carrying that allele was determined
(Figure S3B). This was done in order to

The State Of California s Financial Report
In the second half of this paper, I will analyze is the State of California s Financial Report. The
government is not a nonprofit, although they are quite similar; therefore, the government s financial
report will be evaluated using different methods and from different perspectives. To get a broad
overview of this government, first, the financial position and economic condition of the State of
California will be evaluated. Then, things with more depth, such as budget planning, funds, and
infrastructure, will be discussed.
As taxpayers, people are required to pay imposed taxes and derived taxes. Since payments are not
voluntary as opposed to nonprofits, people want to know where the government currently stands,
whether it has sufficient revenues for efficiently running current public services, and how much it has
improved compared to last year. Examining government wide financial statements will give readers a
basic understanding of the government s condition. The government wide financial statements consist
two parts: the statement of net position and the statement of activities. Based on the statement of net
position, in 2015, the State of California has a deficit of about $41.0 billion. Compared to the past 10
fiscal years, the fiscal year of 2015 has the least amount of total governmental activity net position and
total primary government net position. In addition, the unrestricted deficit as a percentage of total
assets is 75.64%, which is close to 100%. This number

Science And Its Impact On Science Essay
Science is an ordered study of the global facts that involves keen observation, analyses and the use of
experiment to certify the researched facts. Science can also be defined as the orderly wits that are
obtained through observation and even through the research and experiments. In the field of
philosophy, science is defined as the approach or the methodology used to test the philosophical
hypothesized statements about nature and other related matters of life. Science interacts differently
with various topics such as theory, presupposition, prediction, causation, correlation, probability,
possibility and even the impossibility. The various elements have different roles in science which are
going to be evaluated in the paper.
The theory is one of the most important aspects of science; are the backbone of science. From the
definition of science, we have seen that it is a systematic manner of generating knowledge. Theories
help to elaborate the observed phenomenon regarding what is known; they predict the unknown, and
in the end, they come up with a conclusion or a new format of the situation. Theories also help to
show the scope of the observed conditions as well as interactions of the situation with other entities.
Therefore, theory plays the role of enabling of the formulation of hypothesis in science which are later
tested using the systematic approach to science.

It was based on the appeal of tunes he heard during his childhood. I enjoy the sound of the piano being played, and I loved how the composer uses it to make this very admirable piece. Third Hearing This beautiful sound of music is being played by a piano. The piano was an excellent choice of instrument because it brings the sound of tunes that the audience enjoys. The dynamics is loud then it changes to louder at parts. When I first listen to it, it made me jump a little due to the fact it caught me off guard. The tempo is fast throughout the song. The Eyewitness testimony has been used for a long time as evidence in a crime scene. Many psychologists tried to answer the question if the eyewitness testimony is correct and true all the time or not. This research study done by STARR (2012) addresses that eyewitness memory can be changed depends on the satiation and what kind of question that we ask the eyewitness during the police investigations or in the court room. While STARR s article raises timely and important issue, he included a good scientific research explaining how false eyewitness could be. • 5. Explosive Traces and Forensic Analysis Explosives are used for a variety of applications from military operations to mining. However, these materials can also be used in criminal investigations such as terrorists who threaten harm or cause death and destruction. Explosives can be categorised into two main forms: high explosives and low explosives. High explosives are explosive materials that detonate. This means that the explosive shock passes through the material at a speed, faster than the speed of sound. High explosives generally detonate with an explosive velocity ranging from 3 to 9 km/s. Low explosive are compounds where the rate of decomposition proceeds through the material at a speed less than the speed of sound. The decomposition is spread by a flame. This is known as deflagration. Under normal conditions, low explosives undergo deflagration at rates varying from a few centimetres per second to roughly 400 metre per second. It is possible for low explosives to deflagrate extremely quickly producing an effect which is similar to detonation of high explosives. This usually occurs when ignited in a confined space and can happen due to high pressure or high temperatures. The detection and/or identification of trace amounts of explosives is an important aspect of forensic investigations. Some methods of detection can also identify the explosives, some cannot for example the use of canine detection, and the dog can smell the explosive but cannot say what it is. The sans culottes had not yet completely given up on the use of violent tactics to achieve their ends because they needed goods, which the first estate had. They revolted with the lower estates a few times and accomplished their aim. Because of these actions, they have been known as the rebels of various counter revolutionary risings . Nearly everyone, especially the first estate and the major figures, at a certain point had enough of them, since they were getting out of hand and were succeeding, they were naming them certain terms and attempting to persuade them, by writing, that they should end their actions and that everything is useless. • 9. Kathryn Mary I ve written before about my younger sister, Kathryn Mary, who was born on September 13, 1972. Within a couple of days of her birth, her doctors discovered that she had Down syndrome and a heart defect that was going to eventually need to be corrected with open heart surgery. Unfortunately, Kathryn never got to a point where she had enough strength and stamina to withstand a surgery. She was so weak that she was never able to turn herself over or crawl on the floor. She gained very little weight during the 13 months that she was with us. She died on October19, 1973. Kathryn was with us for only one Christmas, and there is only one thing that I remember about that day. My grandfather, Tom Williams, came over to our house and when he saw my mom holding Kathryn, he said in a loud voice, She s the best Christmas present you could ever ask for. You should wrap a red bow around her and forget about all the other presents. Shortly after the birth of our little Christmas present, one of her doctors told my parents that children who are born with Down syndrome have a great love of and appreciation for music. The doctor encouraged my parents to play music for Kathryn as often as possible. My mom did what the doctor told her to do and played soothing music as often as possible, especially when she was trying to calm Kathryn down or put her to sleep. Although it s been more than 40 years since Kathryn died and went to heaven, I still think of her when I consider the impact that music ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 16. The Iranian Revolution Longevity and positive outcomes are what determine whether a revolution is successful or not. This is not the case for Iran. Since the revolution, Iran has been economically, politically, and socially unstable. With an economy dependent on oil, a natural source whose production is unpredictable, stability is simply unattainable. With the same leader for a long period of time, not much can change politically. Oppositions and revolts can happen and disrupt the social lives of Iranian citizens. Although the Iranian Revolution was politically successful by maintaining an Islamic Republic, the revolution was unsuccessful because of the severe economic failure it was in the long term and the social unrest it still has today. The revolution of 1979 marked the beginning of Iran s economic decay and even further economic instability. Before the revolution, Iran had one of the Middle East s most advanced economies. Petroleum exports, which make up about 85 percent of government revenues, have decreased over the years after the revolution (Trading Economics). In fact, petroleum exports declined to 1.5 million barrels per day in 2012 from 2.5 million barrels per day in 2011 (Trading Economics). The Iranian government s dependence on oil revenues has resulted in persistent financial instability. Because of this financial instability, Iran s inflation rate was greatly affected. His radio and television shows were about books and authors, and they gained him numerous writing and broadcasting awards. In 1936, he joined the Chicago Tribune staff as a writer (Struzzi). Chicago was extremely dry during that year and in fact, many fires had occurred recently in the Windy City before the Great Chicago Fire. Cromie describes the city as an enormous artificial forest, drying out in a sun heated oven (pg 9), since almost everything was made out of wood, from the pine block paving, to fences of pine, to wooden roofs. Chicago also was filled with warehouses with wooden shelves, lumber mills, and paint and varnish shops that contained inflammable items. On page 11, Cromie stated that, Chicago specialized in the production, handling, and storage of combustible goods . All this information showed how easily a fire could spread; Chicago was almost asking for a terrible fire to happen. The cause of the fire is still uncertain today, but it has been speculated about by many researchers. Cromie chose to write about the legend of Mrs. O Learys cow. • 18. The Discovery Of The Tomb Of King Tutankhamun The discovery of the tomb of King Tutankhamun has answered many questions and solved many mysteries about the life of people in Ancient Egypt. However, the life and death of the boy king is still a mystery itself. For example, one continual argument and mystery is how King Tut died. Although there are many opposing theories, King Tutankhamen died because he was already weak from genetic diseases, then broke his leg, which got infected and caused King Tut to die. King Tutankhamun was an Egyptian pharaoh that had an early death. He was born circa 1341 B.C.E. and was the 12th pharaoh of the 18th dynasty (King Tut Biography). His main impact on Egypt was restoring the main polytheistic religion of Ancient Egypt (King Tut Biography). His father, Akhenaten, whose name translates to he who works for Aten, wanted Egypt to become monotheistic (King Tut Biography). He wanted all of Egypt to only worship Aten, instead of the pantheon of gods they had previously worshipped (King Tut Biography). Egyptian society went into chaos and Akhenaton was probably forced to abdicate the throne. (King Tut Biography). When Tutankhamun was born, he was originally called Tutankhaten, meaning living image of Aten, but he eventually changed his name to Tutankhamun, meaning the living image of Amun (Meaning of Akhenaten and King Tut Biography). Converting Egypt to polytheism was the main impact of King Tutankhamen in Egypt. King Tutankhamun came to power in Egypt very young. He probably became ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

He was hailed his predecessor s incarnation at the age of two, and was enthroned in 1940. Traditionally, the role of the Dalai Lama is the spiritual guide and leader of Tibet, creating a symbol of security and peace. Dalai Lama s are rarely ever politically involved in Tibet. Tibet slowly went into a cataclysmic effect of destruction and disorder. The freedom of speech was now lost to the Tibetan people, freedom marches and movements were banned, the result in not complying with this unjust system was death or brutal imprisonment for years at a time. Even though these protests were violently suppressed by the Communist government and martial law was imposed in 1989, demonstrations against Chinese rule have nevertheless continued. Following Tibet s Liberation, Mao Zedong immediately established the Seventeen Point System, which totally eliminated Tibet s past independence. Since then, almost one and a half million people in Tibet have been slain, and over six thousand religious buildings have been demolished. • 20. The causes of court delays in Malta are attributable to... Court delays had already existed during the British Colonial period and while some delays are considered as necessary, many people consider these delays as totally unacceptable. Numerous articles are found online or on newspapers with regard to this issue and some people argue that the prolonging of court delays is in breach of the fundamental right to a fair hearing in a reasonable time. These delays relate to a variety of factors which to a certain extent are attributable to the procedure adopted in the court. However, other factors such as the legal history, culture and social relations should also be taken into consideration. During the Colonial period, the Maltese had resisted legal and judicial interventions by the British authorities and this seems to affect the way we see the lawyer s professional role today. At this point in time delays had already existed in civil litigation as the British Royal Commission (1911) investigated these delays and it was in charge of reforms to the Maltese judicial procedure. It focused mostly on the schedule followed by the courts for the hearing of cases. Through these investigations, what emerged was that the system adopted for the hearing of civil cases seemed to be based on the assumption that instead of a single session in which the case would be tried, there would be a series of hearings, which could reach thirty or forty over a number of years and which were usually separated from each other by periods of some three ... Mike Rose s essay confirms Jean Anyon s study in showing that your education is heavily based upon the social class you are in. Although there are many other examples, the headlines Joan mentions in chapter 16 are a prime example of how Esther has affected people even those who are strangers. The headlines symbolize Esther s exposure to the world and her impact on them. Plath developed the headlines by using Joan to be the person to show them to Esther and explain to her how she had heard of her while she was gone. Esther thinks that she is very secluded from the rest of the world and she only sees the pain and darkness in her story. The linkage disequilibrium and population structure of GWBP were described in detail by Sallam and Martsch (2015). Because Sallam and Martsch (2015) and Sallam et al. (2015a) confirmed that GWBP has low structure, we assume that GLM model fits with the analysis of association mapping. However, we presented marker trait association using MLM+K for AUPSC, LTAF, and LTCF. The results of association analysis revealed that 12 different significant markers were found to be associated with AUSPC, LTAF, LCAF (Table 3). It was difficult to determine the contribution of each parent of the GWBP (unlike BPP) because this population was derived from a natural crossing of 11 parents. However, the number of alleles (for the 12 significant markers, Table 3) associated with decreased frost stress symptoms in each founder line is presented in Figure S3A. This number ranged from four alleles inherited from Banner/1 to ten alleles from L979/1. This indicates that L979/1 is the main source of frost tolerance found in GWBP. Of 12 alleles, Côte d Or/1 had eight alleles that were responsible for decreasing the effect of frost stress.
