Gender Roles In Boys And Girls By Alice Munro
In the short story Boys and Girls by Alice Munro, is embedded a true life story of not just how specific
genders are supposed to live out specific roles, but how both genders have to live life in a way that
gets them both through it, we all have to go through this life the best way we ve learned to live. In her
short story, there are three main elements that stick out as important to me. These being the characters,
the theme, and the setting Munro uses.
The characters in this story are fairly round characters that have a lot of impact on the thoughts and
actions of each other, with the exception of Henry who is the farmhand and more of a side, flat
character. The characters include the narrator who is the protagonist, an unnamed young girl, Laird,
the young girl s little brother, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
And the Mother, Who, like the father, seems to be a very dedicated and loving wife and caregiver. The
main character, the young girl, is going through some major life changes, and decisions when she has
to finally face the fact that she is living in a society that expects her to speak and act within certain
limitations that form her female reputation. This realization is very hard on the young girl since she
has loved working alongside her father for some time at this point, which involves all the chores that a
young lady ought not to be handling. Along with the young girl, her brother Laird is also another very
important character because he plays the role of the antagonist, but an antagonist who deserves some
credit because he has no actual intentions on harming or hurting his older sister in any way. It just so
happens that the problem the young girl is struggling with is becoming much harder the more she
notices about her little

Help of The Isle of Man and England to an Athletic Performer
The Isle of Man is closely linked with England in development and competitions of sport. To get to
the top of a sport is never easy so I am going to explain how the Isle of Man and England help a
performer in athletics to get from grass roots to elite.
For a performer to get to the top they will need help from the governing body of their sport. The main
governing bodies and agencies are responsible for helping athletics to develop are:
* Sport England The governing body of sport in England. They help to raise standards within sports
and help improve facilities.

At current there is one major programme being run nationally through out primary schools all over the
country. The programme is called the Tops programme and is co ordinated by the Youth Sport Trust, a
governing body working for the development of sport for children between the age of 3 and 14. The
programmes are delivered as a package including practical training to teachers and resources and are
designed to support the delivery of the national curriculum.
On the Island at present the MSR have provided all primary schools with only two of these
programmes. The Top Play and the Top Sport. These two programmes, yet very helpful in the
development of the children, don t give a spread of equality. As on the Island there are some disabled
athletes who have represented the Island in athletics but have had to learn these events at a later date,
as there was nothing for them during primary school. Luckily in athletics though gender does not
mater. The athletes may only compete against others of the same gender but their events happen on the
same days, there isn t a men s Olympics and a women s Olympics. This means that athletes can train
together equally.
As a result of the Tops

Struggle Between Hindu and Secular Nationalisms in India...
Struggle Between Hindu and Secular Nationalisms in India
India holds a prominent place in the history of imperialism and decolonization, making recent events
in this country of nearly one billion especially important to the current day citizen. India also faces
problems associated with accommodating religion and diversity within a large federal republic,
making their experience important for Americans concerned with these issues. India faces growing
action of governing which invites the use of violence to achieve political objectives. In spite of India s
size and importance, it is hard for an American to gain an understanding of the issues and conflicts
which have set the stage for the most recent revival of Hindu nationalism. The ... Show more content

Nijhawan remarks, the contending sides swear by secularism. However, secularism as it has come to
be practiced by the Congress Party and the Indian government (hereafter referred to simply as
secularism) comes under scrutiny for four general reasons: the unequal treatment of different religious
groups, the implied hostility to religion, the poor translation of secularism from the West to India and
the inability of secularism to create a national identity for India. That both sides attempt to appropriate
the term secularism can lead to confusion; even the U.S. government had some problems in its effort
to catagorize the debate about secularism. In the opinion of the Hindu nationalist, the Congress
commitment to secularism does not bring about the tolerance, the Sarva Dharma Sambhava to be
expected of Hindu rulers. P.N. Joshi, President of the Rashtriya Hindu Manch, a militant Hindu
organization, explains in his 150 page pamphlet, Secularism in Action: A Fraud, A Conspiracy to
Destroy Hinduism that in reality, the picture of secularism in action in this country is neither beautiful
not presentable ... in fact, it is ugly and abominable and the produce even though so well packed in
gorgeous colours is foul and stinking .ii The concept of secularism in this country, in fact, means to
ignore the Hindus, to sell the rights and interests of the Hindus with a view to appeasing the Muslims,
Sikhs and Christians for buying their votes. The BJP also attacks

The Consumer Federation Of America
Americans resoundingly reject non driving characteristics in determining auto insurance rates.
If you re a low income American, chances are you re paying a lot more for auto insurance than other
citizens even if you have a similar driving record and address. Those are the findings of the Consumer
Federation of America (CFA) based on a study released on Monday.
Low Income Status = Higher Insurance Premiums
The CFA evaluated minimum limits liability premiums shared by men and women in 15 cities by five
of the nation s largest auto insurers. Specifically, the CFA found that premiums surged by an average
of 59 percent, or $681 annually when characteristics of the drivers were changed to denote a lower
economic status. Auto insurance is required in all states with New Hampshire the lone exception.
Insurance is regulated at the state level.
Insurance companies should judge you on how you drive, not who you are, said J. Robert Hunter, CFA
s Director of Insurance and former Texas Insurance Commissioner. Insurance companies are
penalizing good drivers by hundreds and sometimes thousands of dollars each year based on economic
and social status, and the end result is that the poor pay more, much more.
Five Non Driving Factors Auto insurers use five factors when developing quotes for consumers. They
are: level of education, occupation, homeownership status, ownership of a car during prior six months,
and marital status.
The CFA found that drivers with the same driving

Sustainable development has become each country s priority and to effectively achieve this growth
many countries use natural resources in production to comply with the consumers needs, at the same
time making sure that the future generations needs are also met (Repetto et al., 1989). Hence the use
of natural resources in production is processed carefully and effectively yet, even with cautious
dealings accidents occur which result in chaos. Similarly the Montara oil spill in 2009 caused chaos in
the Timor Sea and its surrounding population immensely. On 21st August 2009 Australia witnessed
one of its worst oil disasters, an oil and gas leak that occurred in the Montara oil field in the Timor
Sea. The leak occurred due to an explosion and it finally ended on 3rd November 2009. During the
leak and even years after the issue of compensation still hung above the company PTTEP Australasia
(PTTEP AA). In this essay we will explore the incident through the perspectives of PTTEP AA, the
people of West Timor and the marine environment. Henceforth we will come to the conclusion of how
this ongoing issue can be best handled.
The Montara oil spill lasted 74 days and during that time the oil spill effected the an Indonesian island
s population, marine environment and caused reoccurring nightmares for PTTEP AA who were trying
to seal the oil leak. PTTEP AA had the duty to secure the safety of the workers at the oil rig and

nuclear weapon of North Korea. According to this article, the world is facing the risk of a nuclear war.
Both leaders of North Korea and America do not want to resign the other and they push the conflict to
the highest level. In my opinion, verbal battles between Kim Jong Un and Donald Trump will make
this situation worse than ever before and a war is the last thing we need. Evan Osnos wrote about his

The Pros And Cons Of Cable Television Provisions
Numerous complaints were received by the Government stating that there has been unreasonable price
hike in cable television by the cable operators. Moreover, the cable operators were not paying
appropriate revenue by concealing there income and under reporting their income. The cable operators
defended themselves by stating that the broadcasting industry is unregulated and they are forced to
increase the price for proving cable television services as the broadcasting companies can increase the

Summary Of The Open Window
Staring out the open window, Megan let the quiet breeze blow in and flow through her long, brown
hair. This is where she would take in her last moments of silence. She watched as the branches swayed
in the wind, their leaves just starting to turn red and fall to the ground. She thought about jumping,
escaping reality, but instead turned and stepped away, dragging the fabric of her puffed up, white dress
with her. Memories of her mother started to flood in her mind, drowning her with unpleasant
reflections. She wondered if she would be able to make it through the rest of the day.
Summer was approaching, Megan could tell by the way the warmth of the sun danced across her skin.
She was finishing up her last week of school, excited to see what summer adventures she would have
this year with her parents. The school bell rang and all of the students ran to line up in front of the
door, screaming goodbyes at the teacher and at each other. One by one, they exited the classroom,
made their way down the once colorful halls, and then out the doors to greet whoever was picking
them up that day. Megan searched the crowd of parents, sprinting towards her father who was standing
with his arms wide open. How was your day Meg? Did you learn any essential information today? her
father had asked, embracing her in his gigantic bear arms. From her view, her father stood like a
tower, hovering over everything beneath him. Education, to him, was important and he wanted to

Pig s Responsibility In The Story Of The Three Little Pigs
The Story of the Three Little Pigs originated in England in 1890. In this fairytale their mother, Old
Sow, sends her three pigs into the world to seek their fortune. The pigs meet a man with building
materials. The first pig builds his house with straw; the second builds his house sticks and the third
with bricks. A wolf comes along seeking to blow down the pig s houses and eat them. Subsequently,
pig one and two are eaten, but the wolf is unsuccessful in blowing the third pig s house down. He
attempts to lure the pig out of his house to three locations: Mr. Smith s field, Merry Garden, and
Shanklin. However, the pig is clever and leaves an hour earlier than the wolf. After the third time of
being outsmarted the wolf becomes angry and climbs down the pig s chimney. Again, the pig is clever
so he places a boiling pot of water under the chimney that the wolf falls into. In the end, the pig eats
the wolf. In The Story of the Three Little Pigs the third pig illustrates responsibility in his preparation
for dealing with the wolf.

The Impact Of Modern Campaign Finance Laws On America
Campaign Finance
Introduction:
In 2011, two sociologists named Erik Olin Wright and Joel Rogers identified five core American
values: freedom, prosperity, efficiency, fairness, and democracy (Wright and Rogers). America s
numerous ideals inevitably cause these values to come into conflict each other. Such conflict
characterizes the debate over the implications of modern campaign finance laws in America. The
Supreme Court s ruling in Citizen s United v. FEC in 2010 undid former restrictions placed on how
money can be spent on federal political campaigns. Prior restrictions like the Federal Election
Campaign Act of 1971 and its amendments in 1974, placed limitations on political donations by
Political Action Committees (PACs), political parties, and even individuals. Originally these
restrictions were put in place to deter corruption that could undermine the democracy inherent in US
values and elections. The Supreme Court s ruling in 2010 revolutionized the scene by declaring that
independent expenditures are protected by the first amendment to the US Constitution. They further
asserted that for all intents and purposes corporations are legally viewed synonymous with people in
terms of political spending. The Supreme Court s ruling emphasized equality and freedom, but at what
cost? Critics, like Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, suggest at the cost of democracy, and ultimately
corporate interests diminishing freedom in the long run. As a result of this case, more money is now

Transmission Replacement Research Paper
The short answer to this is no, almost certainly not. Unfortunately, the fact of the matter is that a
busted transmission will inevitably be expensive, regardless of how you decide to handle it.
Transmissions are complicated but essential. Repairing or replacing one is always pricey, buying a
new car would be expensive as well but just because your transmission is damaged doesn t mean you
should discard the entire car. The situation may not be as bad as you think.
On average, replacing a car s transmission can range from $1800 to $3500, which makes it one of the
most expensive things your car could possible require. However, it s still probably cheaper than an
entirely new car. If your price estimate for a transmission replacement falls on the upper end of that
scale, it s either because you drive a high end car, or you need a total rebuild following a massive
mechanical breakdown. If neither of those situations applies to you, the cost to replace your
transmission will likely be on the lower end of the scale, which makes buying a replacement a more
sound financial decision than buying a new car. If you drive a car with a manual transmission, you
may be able to fix the problem by replacing your clutch, which will probably cost you $1000 to
$1500. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

should opt for used over new. You can also consider rebuilding the transmission yourself to spare

that saves you the time and money of shopping for a new

Children At A Local Fitness Center
For my observations, I interviewed Penny who teaches gymnastics to children at a local fitness center.
She teaches classes every Friday and Saturday to children ranging from 2 14 years old. I observed her
multiple times and recorded 6 hours of observations. After talking to Penny Lane, I found out she did
gymnastics as a child at her local fitness center. She was a student for there for about 8 years, while
growing up. Then while she was in high school she was asked to teach for students at her fitness
center. She enjoyed it so much that when she moved up to Bellingham, she asked the fitness center in
town if she could teach some lessons. At the time, no one was teaching gymnastics and the fitness
center said that she could teach. She was able to create her own lesson plans and has been working at
this location for 2 years. This is how she was able to get involved with this type of work. She did
mention a few struggles with the job such as the fitness center does not have a lot of funding and that
sometimes hinders the lessons and she explained that older students tend to drop out and go
somewhere else. When I asked her how she felt about her work she said that it was easy and fun. She
really enjoys working with kids and feels comfortable teaching gymnastics. She wants to keep this job
throughout her schooling because she wants to be an elementary school teacher once she graduates
from college. She doesn t make very much money so, I would say based off of my observations

Rhetorical Analysis Of The End Of Solitude
Rhetorical Analysis rough draft
William Deresiewicz, a contemporary writer, in his essay, The End of
Solitude, on (January 30,2009) in The Chronicle of Higher Education, discusses how we are replacing
the solitude to being in constant communication with people. Deresiewicz s purpose is to expand on
the research of the desire to be recognized, the fear of being alone in his modern culture audience. He
uses an aggressive and assertive tone. William
Deresiewicz s claim is that we are replacing the solitude to being in constant communication with
people Issues that William Deresiewicz discusses are; What is happening with solitude in these days,
why are T.V. and Internet a problem, and the social networking effects on human behavior. To support
his claim that, T.V and Internet are a problem, Deresiewicz uses a rhetorical question. In his essay he
answers each of the questions asked. An example of this is, What does the contemporary self want?
(paragraph 1). Later in the paragraph he answers the question, Celebrity and connectivity are both
ways of becoming known. This is what the contemporary self wants . The rhetorical question is used
to draw in his readers, which he then explains what technology is doing before he answers the
question himself. He speaks upon technology and social networking sites such as; a camera, computer,
Twitter, and Facebook. He claims that being connected, and being seen through technology is how we

Double Life Depicted In The Film The Matrix
The One
In the film The Matrix Keanu Reeves plays Thomas A. Anderson, who is a man living a double life.
One part of his life consists of working for a highly respectable software company. The second part of
his life he is a hacker under the alias quot;Neo. quot; One day Neo is approached by Morpheus
(Laurence Fishburne) and is taught that everything he thought was real was actually The Matrix, a
computer program developed by machines in order to use human beings as batteries. Morpheus has

Morpheus. You know, I know this steak doesn t exist. I know that when I put it in my mouth, the

Ignorance is bliss. Cypher is allowing himself to give into samsara because he believes that living in
samsara is superior to being enlightened.
Cypher can be seen as the one that gives into samsara while the other shipmates on the
Nebuchadnezzar can be considered the enlightened ones. They can be paralleled to bodhisattvas in
Mahayana Buddhism.
An advanced Bodhisattva who has experienced Nirvana does not rest content with [Samsara]. He turns
again to samsara in the service of others... He does this by sending forth a seemingly physical mind
made body in which he tunes into and perceives the apparent world of those he is seeking to aid.
(Harvey, 113)
This displays how the crew views the matrix. They could remain outside the matrix as soon as they
became enlightened, but instead they repeatedly enter the matrix in order to help others. This is
displayed when Trinity and other crew members tracked down Neo at the beginning of the movie.
They were willing to go into The Matrix to help yet another person achieve enlightenment.
At the same time the movie displays a sense of

My Choice Of Organization Is Leaning Toward The Floating...
My choice of organization is leaning towards the Floating Hospital for Children at Tufts Medical

my Strategic and Planning Management classes. Similar to Tufts NEMC, the Floating Hospital for
Children has a rich history as it was established in 1894 as a hospital ship, sailing in Boston Harbor.
Back then, people believed that fresh air was the most favorable alternative in treating ailing children.
It has continued to provide medical care to sick children while cruising Boston Harbor for the next
three decades. It has then upgraded its facilities and expanded amenities to having an inpatient service
and onboard research facility. However, at some point in the spring of 1927, the floating hospital was
ruined by fire. As luck would have it, none had been on board. Four years later, another facility was
built this time on land providing a comprehensive service pediatric facility with ongoing research
activities. In 1965, the facility has officially merged with Tufts Medical Center. Tufts is the oldest
permanent medical facility in the nation. Samuel Adams and Paul Revere originally established it at
the Boston Dispensary in 1796. Despite the former s strong historical foundation, Floating Hospital
for Children has kept hold of its character and celebrated tradition. Moreover, it was highlighted in the
case analysis that the hospital has been beset by financial

San Paolo Fuori Le Mura
Ackland Study Gallery: Interior View of San Paolo Fuori Le Mura The Interior View of San Paolo
Fuori Le Mura, completed by Giovanni Battista Piranesi in 1749, conveys a sense of grandiosity about
the structure, emphasizes the core religious components of the basilica s style, and creates a perception
of the sacred temple s function as socially valuable. The etching depicts the inside space of the
Basilica of Saint Paul Outside the Walls, located in Rome, at an elevated point of view from the
narthex of the structure facing the apse located at the end of the nave. After the execution of Paul the
Apostle in the first century CE, his followers constructed a small shrine over his grave. This shrine
was shortly replaced by a church in the fourth ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The detail effectively illustrates and emphasizes the storytelling components of the decoration, the
sculpture, and the ornateness of the interior space, something not possible for a less detail oriented
medium. The detail of the architecture shows the superiority of the building compared to other
structures in Rome, and the value placed on honoring Saint Paul. The storytelling artwork and
portraiture which leads to the grand portrait of Jesus Christ is also a component of the interior space
which the medium allowed to shine through, further informing the viewer on the purpose of the
structure. The detail in the artwork expresses its importance in the church s service to a society of
extremely low literacy rates to teach religious stories and values. The selection of etching as a medium
is essential to conveying these aspects of the architecture s role and how the viewer perceives the

Taking A Look At Insomnia
Unlike the stigmas and taboos associated with many mental illnesses, Insomnia is a mental illness that
is, by comparison, more well received in contemporary society. Being featured in numerous types of
popular culture, such as well known songs, chronic sleeplessness is unique in its near mainstream
relevance (Lynsky, 2008). Insomnia is defined as chronic complaints of unsatisfactory sleep, despite
having an adequate opportunity to sleep (American Psychiatric Association, 2013). According to the
DSM, The diagnosis of insomnia disorder is given whether it occurs as an independent condition or is
comorbid with another mental disorder (e.g., major depressive disorder), medical condition (e.g.,
pain), or another sleep disorder (e.g., a breathing related sleep disorder). ... Show more content on

Insomnia may also manifest as a clinical feature of a more predominant mental disorder. This is
significant, as is defines a distinct difference between primary insomnia and insomnia induced by
another factor or mental illness. It is notable that this condition is prominent throughout society
According to one study, over 35% of those interviewed complained about symptoms related to
insomnia and 10% of those reported effects that persisted into the daytime, negatively impacting their
cognition, relationships, job performance, safety, and overall mental wellbeing (Turkoski, 2006). In
addition, the National Sleep Foundation (2017) found that two thirds of surveyed Americans had
difficulties falling asleep or staying asleep at least one night a week. Due to the reported prevalence of
insomnia, it is important to consider the treatment methods employed to combat both primary and
comorbid

The Progressive Era Reform
Progressive Era, an era of intense social and political reform aimed at making progress toward a better
society. It was a period of Progressive Era reformers sought to harness the power of the federal
government to eliminate unethical and unfair business practices, reduce corruption, and counteract the
negative social effects of industrialization for the protections for workers and consumers were
strengthened, and the era witnessed the achievement of women s right to vote.
The Progressive era, was period when America decided to grow its nation.
In 1898, conflict between the United States and Spain that ended Spanish colonial rule in the

repressive measures on the Cuba, which were portrayed for the U.S. public by several sensational
newspapers, and American sympathy for the Cuban rebels rose. And finally Spain declared a war on
April 9, 1898 with America. But to the end Spain capitulated to the America in July 17, and

Source Reduction Goal
How it supports the source reduction goal (All explanations of how principles support source
reduction and the resulting benefits to human and environmental health are thoroughly explained
many with examples and evidence of research)
Preventing waste is the most effective way to a greener and cleaner environment as it reduces or
eliminates the existence of waste right from the source. Waste management is already a huge issue in
our world and if we approach waste management with prevention we would leave no complications in
terms of treating, disposing or controlling it. Less waste means less hazards to the environment and to
the public health which is the aim of green chemistry. Waste production is inevitable in the industries
that exist in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Catalysts are a great example of source reductions because they provide energy in a reaction without
changing the process. By lowering the temperature of the reaction and altering the pressure used they
reduce energy. Ideally, they can be used indefinitely meaning that no product is going to waste, this
means that our environment and health would be benefited greatly due to the absence of waste. Unlike
stoichiometric reagents, catalysts do not generate waste, give more control on reaction such as
reducing unwanted side products and can carry out a reaction more than once, increasing efficiency of
product.. Also they can be used in small amounts to speed up reaction processes, so other forms of
energy would not be needed such as fossil

Analysis Of We Wear The Mask In Richard Cory
Ever since 1600s when William Shakespeare described the whole world as a stage and all the men and
women merely players , the idea of people wearing masks and hiding their true feelings has been
present in literature in one way or another. In the late 1800s, Paul Laurence Dunbar publishes We wear
the mask , a poem that focuses on people hiding their true feelings from others and everyone can
relate. Unlike Dunbar who talks about different kinds of emotional masks people use, Edwin
Arlington Robinson uses his Richard Cory to draw attention to a mask of money and success, which
makes the average people ( we people ) admire and idealize the successful person (Richard Cory) only
because we do not know and do not even try to see what is hidden behind the mask. In just 4 stanzas
and 16 lines, Edwin Arlington Robinson tells a meaningful and timeless story about misfortune of
Richard Cory, a person behind the mask of money and success who seemingly has everything anyone
could wish for. Robinson starts the first stanza with a description of Richard Cory s appearance and a
clear distinction between the two sides, Richard Cory and we people . The speaker mentions Richard
Cory in the first line without any introduction, which means that everyone should know who Richard
Cory was, so the introduction is not needed. Furthermore, whenever Richard would come to
downtown, we people of the pavement admired him. The people of the pavement or people from the
streets of the downtown,

Dinkum Stereotypes
How dinkum is the Aussie bloke? The average Australian male is not like the historical stereotype, to
be honest they re far from it. Instead of being scruffy, sunburnt and having little or no personal
hygiene; most Australian men are well groomed and practically bathe themselves in expensive
cologne s and other personal care products. All in all, it is obvious that the past stereotypes of
Australian men are no longer an accurate component of Modern Australia.
The historical stereotype of the Australian male can be found in many different songs; Down Under by
Men at Work is just one of these anthems that create a stereotype irrelevant to todays society. The song
uses a range of lines to promote to the listener the characteristics of Australian

Children With Down Syndrome
Also known as trisomy twenty one is a genetic disorder caused by the presence of all or part of a third
copy of chromosome twenty one. It is associated with physical growth delays, characteristic, facial
features, and intellectual disability. Down syndrome is one of the most common chromosomes and
abnormalities in humans. Those with Down syndrome nearly always have physical and intellectual
disabilities. As adults their mental abilities are typically similar to an eight or nine year old. They
typically have poor immune function and generally reach developmental milestones at a later age.
They have an increased risk of a number of other health problems, like congenital heart disease,
epilepsy, Leukemia, thyroid disease and mental disorder. People ... Show more content on

The recovery process is life long and although there are some full functioning Down syndrome
patients there are others who require daily care and observation. Individuals with Down syndrome can
be identified by their features. Down syndrome has typical physical and mental characteristics, but
only seldom all of them or even most of them are found in one single person. If we study the character
of children with the syndrome, we will find they have a pleasant and convenient temperament and a
special character. They are friendly, sensitive and have a sharp and developed emotional intelligence.
These traits assist them in fitting in as a pat of society and the community rather successfully. The
discernible differences concerning the medical condition and the developmental level between Down
syndrome children are caused, among other things, by the different medical treatments and the support
of each child s environment. Support medical, educational, environmental can bring many
improvements in the children s function, allowing them to extract their maximum potential and
increases their chances to live a rich, independent community

The House Of Vanity Presents As A Supernatural
THE HOUSE OF VANITY presents as a supernatural, short thriller. The setting of the manor helps
creates an ominous and gloomy tone fitting for this story. The storm also adds to the chilling
ambiance. The story is driven by themes about vanity, destiny, fate, free will, and the idea of evil.
While there are definite strengths in the short, the short would also benefit from building upon those
strengths. As mentioned, the setting is eerie. The idea of a fortuneteller/clairvoyant is a smart story
choice. There s an intriguing connection between Madame and the TS Eliot. The opening scene with
Garrison and the Madame helps create nice suspense and anticipation. Garrison is believable as a
broken man, desperate to change his destiny. The Madame also feels authentic as the fortuneteller.
There s a solid inciting event with the murder and the suicide. The scream in the background nicely
foreshadows Matilda, although another creative choice is to actually show young Matilda walking into
the room. On a small note, the scene transition from the reading to showing Garrison back at home
does feel a bit jarring and rough. Perhaps end with Madame Sosostris slamming down a tarot card,
with the sounds of thunder, and then overlap the sound of the storm to the scene at the Murbank s
home. The story is propelled forward when Matilda seeks help from the Madame. It s another smart
story choice. Her goal is clear: get answers. The stakes are more personal than physical. Matilda doesn

Donald Trump Monologues
Although my main focus of my mockumentary was Trump s issue with Mexicans, I d like to expand
the focus onto Trump s racism, xenophobia and general thoughts, policies and views that have
offended many different individuals and groups of people. I believe that these things he has said he
would do should nullify his eligibility to run for president.
Donald Trump has voiced his strong opposition to Mexicans being in the United States; he even went
as far as proposing the idea of building a wall separating Mexico from the US. According to Forbes
article written by Dolia Estevez, he wants to deport 11.3 million undocumented workers, 6 million of
which are Mexicans, and strip babies born to undocumented immigrants of their birthright citizenship.
Trump s public racism dates back to long before the start of his presidential campaign. As a real estate

Trump recently announced that Muslimes showeuld noot be alowed in the country
One of the scariest things about Trump saying all these things is that there s so many people out there
that think these things and when they see someone who s running for president, they feel like their
opinion is validated. This causes increased racism and xenophobia amongst the population. This is
dangerous because people also feel like they can also now act upon these things; for example someone
may feel like it is okay to beat up a muslim because Trump, a presidential candidate, spoke openly of
his racist opinion toward

The Pros And Cons Of Nationalism In The 19th Century
Nationalism is a sense of loyalty to one s nation. Nationalism has the power to unify or
divide a whole country, and did so to numerous countries in Europe. The idea of nationalism had
not become known until the 19th century, because in the 19th century modern transportation was
used more commonly and people of different cultures came in correspondence with each other
more frequently. Nationalism appeared in places with a strong central government such as The
Roman Empire and the dynasties in China. However, it first emerged in Europe because Europe
industrialized first and The French Revolution caused a great sense of nationality under the rule
of Napoleon. Although, nationalism did come with its pro s and con s. The concept ... Show more

Peter Stolypin improved education, initiated moderate
land reforms for the peasant farmers, and made many other reforms. The Russian citizen s needs
were still not met so in return, Stolypin was assassinated. The Duma now only had limited
power. Russia was still autocracy until 1914 and little to few changes were made by attempts to
reform due to a lack of nationalism in the country.
In conclusion, nationalism is a key factor for a nation to come together. Nationalism in
Germany and Italy allowed for them to become unified states. However, Russia was not able to
become a unified state because its leaders never satisfied the needs of the Russian citizens, didn t
industrialize as quickly as the other states, and never gave the people of Russia a reason to have
pride in their country. The leaders of Russia made the mistake of ignoring the power of
nationalism. In Russia, Germany, and Italy you can truly see the effects of having or not having

Gender Roles In Boys And Girls By Alice Munro In the short story Boys and Girls by Alice Munro, is embedded a true life story of not just how specific genders are supposed to live out specific roles, but how both genders have to live life in a way that gets them both through it, we all have to go through this life the best way we ve learned to live. In her short story, there are three main elements that stick out as important to me. These being the characters, the theme, and the setting Munro uses. The characters in this story are fairly round characters that have a lot of impact on the thoughts and actions of each other, with the exception of Henry who is the farmhand and more of a side, flat character. This realization is very hard on the young girl since she has loved working alongside her father for some time at this point, which involves all the chores that a young lady ought not to be handling. Along with the young girl, her brother Laird is also another very important character because he plays the role of the antagonist, but an antagonist who deserves some credit because he has no actual intentions on harming or hurting his older sister in any way. That both sides attempt to appropriate the term secularism can lead to confusion; even the U.S. government had some problems in its effort to catagorize the debate about secularism. If you re a low income American, chances are you re paying a lot more for auto insurance than other citizens even if you have a similar driving record and address. Those are the findings of the Consumer Federation of America (CFA) based on a study released on Monday. Low Income Status = Higher Insurance Premiums The CFA evaluated minimum limits liability premiums shared by men and women in 15 cities by five of the nation s largest auto insurers. Specifically, the CFA found that premiums surged by an average of 59 percent, or $681 annually when characteristics of the drivers were changed to denote a lower economic status. Auto insurance is required in all states with New Hampshire the lone exception. Insurance is regulated at the state level. Insurance companies should judge you on how you drive, not who you are, said J. Robert Hunter, CFA s Director of Insurance and former Texas Insurance Commissioner. Insurance companies are penalizing good drivers by hundreds and sometimes thousands of dollars each year based on economic and social status, and the end result is that the poor pay more, much more. • 16. The Impact Of Modern Campaign Finance Laws On America Campaign Finance Introduction: In 2011, two sociologists named Erik Olin Wright and Joel Rogers identified five core American values: freedom, prosperity, efficiency, fairness, and democracy (Wright and Rogers). America s numerous ideals inevitably cause these values to come into conflict each other. Such conflict characterizes the debate over the implications of modern campaign finance laws in America. The Supreme Court s ruling in Citizen s United v. FEC in 2010 undid former restrictions placed on how money can be spent on federal political campaigns. Prior restrictions like the Federal Election Campaign Act of 1971 and its amendments in 1974, placed limitations on political donations by Political Action Committees (PACs), political parties, and even individuals. Originally these restrictions were put in place to deter corruption that could undermine the democracy inherent in US values and elections. The Supreme Court s ruling in 2010 revolutionized the scene by declaring that independent expenditures are protected by the first amendment to the US Constitution. They further asserted that for all intents and purposes corporations are legally viewed synonymous with people in terms of political spending. Critics, like Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, suggest at the cost of democracy, and ultimately corporate interests diminishing freedom in the long run. As a result of this case, more money is now ... Unfortunately, the fact of the matter is that a busted transmission will inevitably be expensive, regardless of how you decide to handle it. Transmissions are complicated but essential. Repairing or replacing one is always pricey, buying a new car would be expensive as well but just because your transmission is damaged doesn t mean you should discard the entire car. The situation may not be as bad as you think. On average, replacing a car s transmission can range from $1800 to $3500, which makes it one of the most expensive things your car could possible require. However, it s still probably cheaper than an entirely new car. If your price estimate for a transmission replacement falls on the upper end of that scale, it s either because you drive a high end car, or you need a total rebuild following a massive mechanical breakdown. If neither of those situations applies to you, the cost to replace your transmission will likely be on the lower end of the scale, which makes buying a replacement a more sound financial decision than buying a new car. I have learned so much about the organization as a solid partner of Tufts NEMC during one of my Strategic and Planning Management classes. Back then, people believed that fresh air was the most favorable alternative in treating ailing children. It has continued to provide medical care to sick children while cruising Boston Harbor for the next three decades. It has then upgraded its facilities and expanded amenities to having an inpatient service and onboard research facility. • 26. Taking A Look At Insomnia Unlike the stigmas and taboos associated with many mental illnesses, Insomnia is a mental illness that is, by comparison, more well received in contemporary society. Being featured in numerous types of popular culture, such as well known songs, chronic sleeplessness is unique in its near mainstream relevance (Lynsky, 2008). Insomnia is defined as chronic complaints of unsatisfactory sleep, despite having an adequate opportunity to sleep (American Psychiatric Association, 2013). According to the DSM, The diagnosis of insomnia disorder is given whether it occurs as an independent condition or is comorbid with another mental disorder (e.g., major depressive disorder), medical condition (e.g., pain), or another sleep disorder (e.g., a breathing related sleep disorder). ... Source Reduction Goal How it supports the source reduction goal (All explanations of how principles support source reduction and the resulting benefits to human and environmental health are thoroughly explained many with examples and evidence of research) Preventing waste is the most effective way to a greener and cleaner environment as it reduces or eliminates the existence of waste right from the source. Waste management is already a huge issue in our world and if we approach waste management with prevention we would leave no complications in terms of treating, disposing or controlling it. Less waste means less hazards to the environment and to the public health which is the aim of green chemistry. Waste production is inevitable in the industries that exist in ... By lowering the temperature of the reaction and altering the pressure used they reduce energy. Ideally, they can be used indefinitely meaning that no product is going to waste, this means that our environment and health would be benefited greatly due to the absence of waste. Unlike stoichiometric reagents, catalysts do not generate waste, give more control on reaction such as reducing unwanted side products and can carry out a reaction more than once, increasing efficiency of product.. • 29. Analysis Of We Wear The Mask In Richard Cory Ever since 1600s when William Shakespeare described the whole world as a stage and all the men and women merely players , the idea of people wearing masks and hiding their true feelings has been present in literature in one way or another. In the late 1800s, Paul Laurence Dunbar publishes We wear the mask , a poem that focuses on people hiding their true feelings from others and everyone can relate. Unlike Dunbar who talks about different kinds of emotional masks people use, Edwin Arlington Robinson uses his Richard Cory to draw attention to a mask of money and success, which makes the average people ( we people ) admire and idealize the successful person (Richard Cory) only because we do not know and do not even try to see what is hidden behind the mask. In just 4 stanzas and 16 lines, Edwin Arlington Robinson tells a meaningful and timeless story about misfortune of Richard Cory, a person behind the mask of money and success who seemingly has everything anyone could wish for. Robinson starts the first stanza with a description of Richard Cory s appearance and a clear distinction between the two sides, Richard Cory and we people . The speaker mentions Richard Cory in the first line without any introduction, which means that everyone should know who Richard Cory was, so the introduction is not needed. Furthermore, whenever Richard would come to downtown, we people of the pavement admired him. The people of the pavement or people from the streets of the downtown, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Instead of being scruffy, sunburnt and having little or no personal hygiene; most Australian men are well groomed and practically bathe themselves in expensive cologne s and other personal care products. All in all, it is obvious that the past stereotypes of Australian men are no longer an accurate component of Modern Australia. • 32. The House Of Vanity Presents As A Supernatural THE HOUSE OF VANITY presents as a supernatural, short thriller. The setting of the manor helps creates an ominous and gloomy tone fitting for this story. The storm also adds to the chilling ambiance. The story is driven by themes about vanity, destiny, fate, free will, and the idea of evil. While there are definite strengths in the short, the short would also benefit from building upon those strengths. As mentioned, the setting is eerie. The idea of a fortuneteller/clairvoyant is a smart story choice. There s an intriguing connection between Madame and the TS Eliot. The opening scene with Garrison and the Madame helps create nice suspense and anticipation. Garrison is believable as a broken man, desperate to change his destiny. The Madame also feels authentic as the fortuneteller. There s a solid inciting event with the murder and the suicide. The scream in the background nicely foreshadows Matilda, although another creative choice is to actually show young Matilda walking into the room. On a small note, the scene transition from the reading to showing Garrison back at home does feel a bit jarring and rough. Perhaps end with Madame Sosostris slamming down a tarot card, with the sounds of thunder, and then overlap the sound of the storm to the scene at the Murbank s home. The story is propelled forward when Matilda seeks help from the Madame. It s another smart story choice. Her goal is clear: get answers. The stakes are more personal than physical. Donald Trump has voiced his strong opposition to Mexicans being in the United States; he even went as far as proposing the idea of building a wall separating Mexico from the US. According to Forbes article written by Dolia Estevez, he wants to deport 11.3 million undocumented workers, 6 million of which are Mexicans, and strip babies born to undocumented immigrants of their birthright citizenship. • 34. The Pros And Cons Of Nationalism In The 19th Century Nationalism is a sense of loyalty to one s nation. Nationalism has the power to unify or divide a whole country, and did so to numerous countries in Europe. The idea of nationalism had not become known until the 19th century, because in the 19th century modern transportation was used more commonly and people of different cultures came in correspondence with each other more frequently. Nationalism appeared in places with a strong central government such as The Roman Empire and the dynasties in China. However, it first emerged in Europe because Europe industrialized first and The French Revolution caused a great sense of nationality under the rule of Napoleon. In conclusion, nationalism is a key factor for a nation to come together. Nationalism in Germany and Italy allowed for them to become unified states. However, Russia was not able to become a unified state because its leaders never satisfied the needs of the Russian citizens, didn t industrialize as quickly as the other states, and never gave the people of Russia a reason to have pride in their country.
