To improve Femara fertility success rate, it is combined with other fertility drugs such as HCG. The
medicine may be inappropriate for a woman with primary ovarian failure or who have blocked
fallopian tubes. As earlier mentioned, Clomiphene Citrate is an example of ovulation drug which may
be used.
Femara for fertility VS Clomid
Clomid is a popular drug in fertility clinics and works by blocking the estrogen receptors. So, the
pituitary gland releases more FSH leading to ovulation stimulation. It has been in existence for many
years, whereas Femara is a relatively new drug in this field. Clomid is taken for five days as well to
stimulate ovulation. Some women may not respond to the drug and this ... Show more content on

The only slight difference, however, is the time each drug stays in one s system before it clears.
Femara has a short lifespan in your body; it completely clears out of the system within a few days. On
the other hand, Clomid may stay in the body for some time which isn t good; it may take almost six
weeks. Therefore, it can result to unfavorable effects on a woman, for example on the cervical mucus
and the uterine lining. Remember cervical mucus is essential to nourish and protect the sperm as it
travels through the fallopian tube to meet the egg for fertilization. Also, after conception, implantation
occurs in the uterine lining. Does this mean while on Femara for fertility you won t experience

Gladiatorial Contest In Rome Essay
Gladiatorial Contest in Rome
Rome was a warrior state. Since the state was a great fighting state in their time, the wars sort of
formed the gladiatorial contest in ancient Rome. The Romans were fascinated and pleasured by
violence, bloodshed, and human suffering the gladiatorial games.
The gladiatorial contests began at the reign of their first emperor Augustus to pay tribute to their
warrior traditions. The Romans built artificial battlefields within amphitheaters in cities and towns for
public entertainment. It is very obvious that gladiatorial contest were important because of the
enormous size of the amphitheaters.

Those who attended the games were dressed up as gods. The slaves were dressed up as the god of
Mercury. The people who dragged away the dead bodies were dressed as Pluto, the god of the
underworld. When Christians were persecuted, the were sometimes led around the arena in a
procession dressed up as priests and priestesses of pagan cults, before the were thrown to wild beast
naked. All of these events performed presented human sacrifice for religious purposes and in the
memory of the dead.
At the end of the last century B.C., politics became involved in the gladiatorial games, and the games
were viewed more as entertainment than religious and commemorative ceremonies. The contests were
public performances held in the social center of the city, the Forum. The public started participating in
the games due to the splendour of the shows and by the distribution of meat, and by betting, added
more respect to the entire family and the dead. The funerals put on by aristocrats in the Republic were
political acts because if their popularity with citizen electors. The fancy shows were fueled by
competition between aristocrats who wanted to please, excite, and increase their number of supporters.
In 42 B.C., gladiatorial fights were substituted for chariot races in official games for the first time. It
was then when officers of the state started producing the

Inner Rings and the Motives that Come Along C.S Lewis delivered a speech named The Inner Ring at
King s College, a University in London. As Lewis continues on in his speech, one may be a little
thrown off by what these inner rings are and what exactly they mean to people. Although Lewis
mentions both good and harmful inner rings, one could argue that most people find themselves so
caught up in these inner rings they do not even realize they are trying to be involved in them for the
wrong reasons. Some people strive to have a certain appearance that comes along with being involved
in these inner rings that they tend to forget what really is important to them. ... Show more content on

Some of these inner rings are the reason we have competition, jealously and spite in the world. It is
not right for one to feel left out just because they do not have certain traits or don t have the same
views as another. Lewis even acknowledges this with his passage, Unless you take measures to
prevent it, this desire is going to be one of the chief motives of your life, from the first day on which
you enter your profession until the day when you are too old to care (Lewis 152). An example of today
s inner ring would be fraternities at Colleges. People who aren t part of a certain fraternity would feel
left out when they see the Frat s doing activities only Frat members are allowed to do. This might
make one feel the need to fit in and do certain things they do not enjoy just to be accepted in a
fraternity. Although this particular example does not apply to everybody, it still does not hide these
inner rings because they can be found everywhere.

Another example of an inner ring existing is social class in itself. Rich hang out with the rich, poor
hang out with the poor. People obviously have different circumstances that make their social class rich
or poor, but the ring still exists. Lower class people feel left out when they see the upper class driving
nicer cars, eating expensive dinners, and living in expensive homes. While on the other end, lower
class workers are living pay check to

Soleimanpour et. al (2011) explained that patient satisfaction is an essential component in the
Emergency Department (ED) because it is the entrance for patients to receive their initial treatments.
The most important and single possible cause for ED patients flow problem is the availability of
inpatients beds (Peck et. al, 2012). The American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) (2011)
explained that the primary cause of ED overcrowding is boarding; which was defined as holding
patients in the ED after the admission had been completed due to unavailability of inpatient beds.
Lutheran Medical Center faced this problem and in his paper will discuss analysis of the problem,
determination of possible quality lapses, identification of performance measures, designing and
evaluation of the interventions and reporting of the results. The quality improvement tool which would
be used to analyze the problem is the Root Cause Analysis (RCA), which is a post hoc process to

Final Reflection Paper
1. Choosing a career is one of the most important decisions a person has to make in their life. It is so
important because that is what we will have to do to support ourselves throughout life. My whole life I
have always wanted to do something where people will remember me. Throughout this course, I have
learned that I do not know what I want to do with my chosen major. I do not regret majoring in
Criminal Justice because I m positive I want to do something within the criminal justice system. I
have learned that I m open to different ideas and career paths. Through the course, I have learned that
I m a great multi tasker, I m always prepared ahead of time with my deadlines and I never had to give
excuses as to why something is not done on time.
a. I never expected to learn more than what this class had to offer. Even though the semester is over, I
feel I ve learned a lot about myself, and life after college. I spent about half of the year wearing
sweatpants, baggy, flashy clothing, and I was okay with that because it s important to feel
comfortable. This semester, I have also learned that if you dress well you get the respectable attention
and needed. When I had the interview and had to dress up, I noticed many people looking my way and
praising me, I felt respected and felt good about myself as well. Stepping out of my comfort zone has
never felt so good. I believe this would help me in my future career to try new things and take risks.

the countermovement shows that not just the emigres are rebelling against their abolition of

time, counterrevolutionary activity had been increasing for more than a year. This official is reporting
that soldiers already sent by the government have failed to stop the rabble and he is writing for more

The large number of dissenters shows that Revolutionary rule is widely abusive, and is therefore
unjust. (Document D) Similarly, Document F also reports that, Historians estimate that 16,000 people

the most serious crimes. It cannot be that 16,000 people of the Counterrevolution are deserving of
immoral public humiliation on top of death, making the methodology of the Reign of terror false. The

The Importance of Perception in Face to Face Communication...
The Importance of Perception in Face to Face Communication between Individuals
Perception is one of the most important fragments of the communication process. It allows us all to
see an individual experience of the world. The process is simple, the brain actively selects, organises
and interprets stimuli, in order to process this experience.
Even before we engage in communication, we perceive things about the receiver. Whether it s the bad
things we ve heard about them previously which would build up a feeling of dislike or the good things
e.g. support same football team. Both of these perceptions are examples of stereotyping which will
affect the expectation of an individual in a different way ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Our communication is not produced within any single system, but in the intersection of several
interrelated systems, each of which is self standing necessarily described by dedicated theories, but
each of which is both the product of the others and, in its own limited way, an instance of the other.
The medium is, as McLuhan famously observed, a message that is inherent to every message that is
created in or consumed from a medium. The medium is, to the extent that we can select among media,
also a language such that the message of the medium is not only inherent to a message, but often an
element of its composition. In what may be the most extreme view enabled by the processing of
messages within media, the medium may also be a person and consumes messages, recreates them,
and makes the modified messages available for further consumption. A medium is really none of these
things. It is fundamentally a system that enables the construction of messages using a set of languages
such that they can be consumed. But a medium is also both all of these things and the product of their
interaction. People learn, create, and evolve media as a vehicle for enabling the creation and
consumption of messages.
The same might be said of each of the constituents of this model. People can be, and often are, the
medium (insofar as they

The Cambrian Period marks the beginning of the Paleozoic Era. This period gets its name from a place
in Wales where the first examples of this type of ancient life was found. The period lasted for nearly
53 million years, from about 543 million years ago until 490 million years ago. The Cambrian Period
marks an important point in the history of life on earth; it is the time when most of the major groups of
animals first appear in the fossil record. This event is sometimes called the Cambrian Explosion ,
because of the relatively short time over which this diversity of forms appears. It was once thought

In Latin American culture the most important unit of the social structure is the family. The most
important unit within the family is the oldest male of the house, which generally is the father or
grandfather. In Latin American culture, the degree of social stratification is very high. The social
mobility is very limited due that the Latin American society is merely classis. This classis is based on
race and ethnicity. Latin American might be considered as multilingual; nevertheless Spanish is
predominant in most countries. Latin American language was influenced by the Spanish and
Portuguese conquerors, native Indians, the African slaves, the immigrants communities of World War I
and II.
2. An important factor that might cause a cultural change in Latin America is Globalization.
Industrialization is growing in Latin America rapidly and this is a consequence of globalization. Some
of the changes that are likely to occur are modernization of cities which will make rich people richer,
and poor people poorer. Mega cities are being built by multinational corporations in cities such as
Santiago in Chile. The Contrast between these wealthy mega cities with rural areas can be very
extreme. For example in Argentina there is an emerging high tech industry brought by globalization.
Entering globalization also means that Latin Americans will have to acquire more and new skills,

Studying the Energy Industry in University
I am interested in the scientific, economical and business aspects of the energy industry, as they not
only have a big impact on our daily lives, but our future. I know that I would like to be part of this
important and growing enterprise in a way that connects science and business. I would l be happy to
study either at University, while developing my skills of the other simultaneously.
Geology is a science that fascinates me as am hugely interested in how and why Earth was formed the
way it was, and the factors involved, from the beginning to the present day. As oil and gas supplies run
out, renewable energy that can provide large amounts of power is becoming sought after, and geology
is a field that contributes hugely to the energy sector and is certainly needed for renewable energy as
well as fossil fuels. Another reason I love geology is the fact that there are so many different types:
glaciology, hydrology, meteorology etc., all of which I am keen to learn about, particularly
geochemistry as it studies at a molecular level. Likewise, the biology involved also fascinates me, as it
includes learning about how geological change affects life on earth.
However, without business management, the energy industry would not be able to operate and make
the money needed for funding valuable research that could help solve our future problems. I feel that
having good business skills gives you the ability to think strategically and make the best decisions.

Research Paper On Ecstasy
Leah Betts was an 18 year old student who died from the use of ecstasy. On her 18th birthday she took
an ecstasy tablet it was believed that she then consumed 7litres of water to contract the effects of the
drug. Ultimately Leah died from water intoxication she d consumed so much after taking ecstasy that
it stopped her brain from working properly and caused it to swell leading to her death. Heart rate,
breathing, body fluids and temperature are all regulated without using having to think about it, the is
known as homeostasis. When you take ecstasy (chemically known as MDMA) homeostasis is pushed
too far causing it to start to break down. Homeostasis usually regulates body temperature to around 37
39 degrees celsius. In order to maintain these temperatures we cool ourselves down through
evaporation of sweat produced from sweat glands in the skin. However there is a limit to how fast our
body can cool down, when you take ecstasy you body ignores the warning signals it is being sent.
Leah however, was not dancing around or exerting a lot of energy for her to sweat or become hot

Vasopressin is one of the hormones released by the pituitary gland, it is an anti diuretic hormone
which regulates blood pressure and water retention. When sodium levels get too high, your body feels
dehydrated. Vasopressin is then released to allow for more water to pass through your kidneys. On the
other hand, when your sodium levels are too low, vasopressin is no longer released and your kidneys

not because your body is dehydrated. Therefore the ADH hormone is produced in excess so your body

Operant Conditioning Punishment
Classical conditioning can be explained through humans best kept secret; urinating in the shower.
Though many deny, the sound of running water typically elicits the natural response to urinate. After
awhile, it is common to become conditioned to associate a shower (without the water on) with the
urge to urinate. Thus, classical conditioning is a learned association between a stimulus (any sight,
smell, sound, taste, or touch (like the sound of running water)), and a neutral stimulus (like the
shower) that triggers the same response (the urge to urinate). Even before Ivan Pavlov began
experimenting with dogs, their normal physiological response was to salivate when they saw food. An
unconditioned stimulus is something that occurs naturally ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Reinforcement and punishment are the two main types of consequences and there are positives and
negatives to both. A relevant real world example is CSUSM s goal of having high ranking students.
Reinforcement tries to increase the tendency that the goal behavior, high ranking students, will occur
again. In a positive reinforcement something is being added. In this scenario, students who follow the
rules and maintain a high GPA will be rewarded with scholarships. In a negative reinforcement
something is being taken away to increase the tendency that the goal behavior will occur again. Until
professors are confident that students are engaged in the material, they will continue to randomly call
on students to answer questions. The act of participating takes away the anticipation of being called
out, and would enforce the goal behavior of good grades. On the other hand, punishment will decrease
a tendency that a behavior will occur again. CSUSM is going to punish failing grades. A positive
punishment means something is being added. If students do not attend class or do not do the
assignments a failing grade will be added to their transcripts. In a negative punishment something is
being taken away. If students do not maintain their GPA their grants, scholarships, and even their
admittance can be

), while the variables that uncorrelated with the error term are called exogenous variables. The
description of these terms explains that an endogenous variable is determined within the model itself
while an exogenous variable is determined outside the model. To understand the endogeneity, we will
use the classic regression equations that show the relationship between prices and wages: Price = + 0ߚ

As we reject the H°, the random effect model will produce biased estimates, so the FE model is used
alternatively. In FE, the τ௜ is correlated with the regressor ܺ௜௧ . 13 RGDP per capita is endogenous
variable in our model because of reverse causality; the effect between corruption and RGDP goes in
both directions; either RGDP affects corruption or corruption affects RGDP. 19 Chapter 3 Empirical
Evidence estimator is biased even in large sample and the FE IV t statistic and confidence intervals are
not true. In this paper, we will use one instrument which is the RGDP of the great importer in 2000.
Here is a description why I choose this instrument. First, a country that buys most of other country‟s
export can definitely increase the GDP of that country, as the exports will be included in the country‟s
GDP calculations. Second, there is no any reason for the GDP of one country to affect the corruption
level of another country, which means; there is no any correlation between the GDP of great importer
and the domestic factors in the country at which it buys most of its exports. 3.3.3 Regression Results
and Discussion Although some of the results in this paper support that in previous papers, but it shows
new other findings. Using FE IV estimation technique through using the RGDP of great importer as an
instrument for RGDP per capita, we find that, income, political stability and

Community Health Status Assessment ( Chsa )
The Community Health Status Assessment (CHSA) is one phase of MAPP process. It identifies how
healthy the residents in Champaign s County Illinois are, and what is the current health status of the
community. CHSA also detects the quality of life of the population within the community (National
Association of County City Health Officials, 2014). From data of this phase of MAPP process,
Champaign County Illinois could understand where they are in comparison to the State of Illinois and
the nation. CHSA data includes death rates, birth rates, the top ranked communicable disease in this
region, behavioral risk factors, violent and injury crimes rates, and other social determinants may
affect the health of the people in the community (National Association of County City Health
Officials, 2014). Definition of health as in this assessment is taken from the World Health
Organization; a state of complete mental, physical and social wellbeing and doesn t mean disease free
or disability and the indicators have analyzed here support this philosophy (Carole Community Health
Needs Assessments, 2014). Interpretation of the indicators proposed by Medicine Institute in the
county, through comparison them with data from other communities and the data from the nation all
can help knowledge the health issues that require focusing on within Champaign County.

Abraham Lincoln s The Argument Against The War

Abraham Lincoln Condemns the War with Mexico, 1848
1) What is Abraham Lincoln s main argument against the war?
When Lincoln was a Congressman in the House of Representatives, during his short term, he loudly
opposed the Mexican war held in 1846. His main argument was that the war was unconstitutional and
unnecessary and was based on a lie. He faced severe criticism from fellow Whigs including other
congressmen for raising voice against the USA intervention in the Mexican territory and promotion of
slavery there. This was against the popular President James Polk s moves to acquire lands under USA
control. Lincoln thought it was unjust and tyrannous.
2) What evidence does Lincoln use to support his anti war argument?
Lincoln believed that Polk had invaded Mexico based on a lie. So he questioned the President Polk s
intent of going to war which was based on Mexico crossing national borders in order to draw first
blood in the US soil. He challenged Polk in the House floor to prove the claim of waging the Mexican
war by providing evidence and facts in a fair and just manner. Lincoln emphasized that Polk should
not resort to rhetoric, evasions, and arguments and should be precise and transparent in presenting the
facts that led to the war.
1) Mexico was declared independent in 1821 following a series of revolts and political turmoil due to
Spanish colonial rule. The independent land of Mexico sought to secure its borders against illegal

Persuasive Essay Dropout
In the United States alone, approximately 1.2 million students dropout of high school every year. That
means that 7,000 teenagers are dropping their high school education every day. I believe that this is
partially because the dropout age is currently sixteen years old in the majority of states. This alarming
number would only grow if the legal dropout age dropped down to fourteen years old, which is what
many are speculating could happen sometime over the next few years. I think that we could and
should avoid this problem altogether by keeping the dropout age at sixteen years old, if not raising it
to eighteen years old.
My first and primary reason for believing that the dropout age should continue on as 16 years old, if
not older, is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many high school dropouts come to regret their decision to dropout later in life once their brains
become more developed. In fact, a study states that more than 74% of people that dropout of high
school come to regret their decision. I believe that if the dropout age to eighteen years old there will
be a significant change in the dropout rate. At that age, the PFC isn t completely there, but it is
definitely more developed. At eighteen years old, one has a better view on life and is able to make a
life altering decision with a clearer head.
According to PBS, the average high school dropout makes approximately $20,241 every year, which
is $10,386 less than someone with a bachelor s degree. This leads me to my second point those who
dropout of high school are practically guaranteed to lead to a less well off lifestyle. The same source
states that the national unemployment rate as of August 2015 was 8.1%. However, this measured to
12% of American citizens who dropped out of high school and only 4.1% with a college degree.
Personally, I believe that most high schoolers don t have a clear view of the future. Many of those that
dropout of high school don t realize how desperately this is going to effect their lives twenty years
from now. This isn t only affecting them, but our country s economy. According to a 2013 study from

The Justice League has always been a great team oh super heroes that saved those who couldn t

Wonder Woman and the Flash were held captive. A team of super villains called the Black Stain

were taken to a secret cave in the mountains were they wouldn t be traced by their Justice League

Situtational Judgement Tests
Introduction Situational judgment tests (SJTs) is one of the common methods which always be used in
personnel selection recently. Specifically, situational judgment tests (SJTs) typically consist of
scenarios of hypothetical work situations in which a problem has arisen. Accompanying each scenario
are multiple possible ways to respond to the hypothetical situation. The test taker is then asked to
judge the possible courses of action (L. A. L. de Meijer et al., 2010, p.229). In terms of the
development of SJTs, the scenarios and situations are always gathered by the subject matter experts
from specific job related critical incidents; and then subject matter experts would gather information
in order to create the possible responses; finally, subject matter experts would develop the scoring
keys for the SJTs (Crook et al., 2011). SJT items may be presented in different formats, such as paper
pencil based, verbal, video based, or computer based formats (e.g., Clevenger, Pereira, Wiechmann,
Schmitt, Schmidt Harvey, 2001; Motowidlo et al., 1990), and participants of the SJTs are usually
required to choose the most appropriate option among the several options for each situation or
scenario (Christian, Edwards, Bradley, 2010). The most common formats are paper pencil based and
video based SJTs. We first have the paper pencil based SJTs, and then, Thorndike (1949) mentioned
the video based SJTs would be closer to real life situations than the paper pencil based formation of

Personally I will have no relation to playing in an actual collegiate soccer game or sport for that
matter. Yet I have many good friends of mine who actually play college soccer, more specifically I
choose to do a team to narrow down on my topic. I was gladly able to go and observe the Colorado
Mesa University boys soccer team. The game was a semi final against Fort Lewis. If the Mesa soccer
team was able to get a victory over Fort Lewis then they would move on to the championship game
and possibly win the RMAC tournament, that they have one previously last year. This game took
place at the Colorado School of Mines University, on a cold night. I arrive and we pay to get in, we
head over to the bleachers where all the parents, friends, and students are sitting at. They begin the
night with the national anthem, and then we all take a stand. Once that is over with it s now game
time. The Mesa soccer boys get into a circle and start there team ritual, which is to sing a chant that
they always sing. The chat is the Ole ole ole song, after that is over the starting eleven head to the
field. The referee gives one last look at everyone to see if they are ready for stats, time, and
announcements. So the referee blows the whistle and that starts the time and the moment of play. You
start to hear all the parents at different times start cheering on their teams. Everyone on the bleachers

The Media And Popular Culture
Media and Popular Culture Popular culture is different from traditional culture; it is based on the
timeline of the significant characteristics of a culture. Popular culture is the ideas, attitudes, thinking,
memes, images, and other phenomena that are in the mainstream of a given culture, especially the
western culture in the early 20th century to the middle 20th century and the emerging global
mainstream in the early 20th and the 21st century. Deeply influenced by the mass media, this
collection of ideas permeates daily life of the society (Wikipedia 2014). Mass media is conceived and
designed to reach a very large media audience. It may need to be in the form of broadcast media, in
television and radio, or print media, such as newspapers and magazines. Internet media can also obtain
the status of the mass media; actually, with so many ways out there provided by internet media, mass
media has been more accessible than ever before. Some people also call it the mainstream media ,
refer to the fact that it tends to give prominent coverage to the news that are cater for the interest of the
public, while ignores the controversial news. Most people around the world are dependent on
mainstream sources for most of their news, so globally, it has already been a huge industry. But there
could be some problems with mass means too, as it could devour the diversity and have negative
effect on popular culture.

Comparing Bossypants And Yes Please By Amy Poehler
I have read many books over the course of this school year. Choosing Yes Please by Amy Poehler was
purely based on the fact that in Bossypants, Poehler was mentioned frequently. I was curious about
how one woman would write about the other. However, after reading the novel, I noticed that there are
plenty of similarities between Poehler s book and some of the other books that I have read for this
class. The construction of essays is reminiscent of Sedaris novels Naked and Me Talk Pretty One Day.
And one can t deny the similarity between Tina Fey s Bossypants and Yes Please, which are both
about the women working through their career in comedy and giving advice to people of the world.
Although her book has many elements in common with other ... Show more content on

Bossypants was written to help a woman be successful in today s world, whereas Yes Please is mainly
and simply career advice for those going into acting or a similar occupation. My favorite quote from
her advice that really gives the reader a sense of her writing style comes from her chapter called treat
your career like a bad boyfriend . Your career won t take care of you. It won t call you back or
introduce you to its parents. Your career will openly flirt with other people while you re around... Your
career will blow you off if you call it too much. It s never going to leave its wife. Your career is
f*cking other people and everyone knows it but you (2272). In the same chapter, Poehler complains
about a person who had the audacity to drop a script in her lap while she was sleeping. She then uses
this story to tell her readers that getting into show business really isn t easy and how you have to work
extremely hard to get anywhere. The reality is that most people become famous or get great jobs after
a very, very long tenure of shoveling sh*t and not because they handed their script to someone on the
street (2226). Something that Yes Please s tone has that Bossypants doesn t is how every so often it
feels as though Poehler is writing to a toddler with the way she seems to baby difficult things. Her
preface is titled writing is hard, and she often uses simplistic terms to describe things to readers. For
example, Amy Poehler

Knee Joint Research Paper
The Knee Joint (tibiofemoral joint) is a bicondylar synovial joint named a hinge joint, which permits
flexion and extension with a slight degree of medial and lateral rotation. The joint is formed by the
two articulations between the femur, tibia and patella. The joint consists of two articulations. The
Tibiofemoral, which is, the medial and lateral condyles of the femur that articulate with the tibial

The knee has two collateral ligaments, which are strap like ligaments, that stabilises the hinge motion
of the knee to prevent excess medial and lateral movement. The Tibial (medial) collateral ligament
originates on the medial side of the joint. It attaches to the medial side of the tibia to prevent forces
applied to the lateral side of the knee from moving the knee medially. The Fibular (lateral) ligament is
a thin and rounder ligament that attaches laterally to the epicondyle of the femur to the fibular head.
The knee joint has two internal ligaments, the anterior and posterior cruciate ligaments which
contribute to maintain the proper alignment of the knee. The anterior cruciate ligament attaches to the
anterior intercondylar region of the tibia where it mergers with the medial meniscus. Posterior cruciate
ligament (PCL), located behind the ACL, which extends obliquely from the surface of the medial
condyle of the femur to the posterior intercondylar space of the tibia. The PCL prevents the posterior
dislocation of the tibia onto the femur. The medial and lateral menisci are fibrocartilage structures in
the knee that, protect and cushion the joint surface and bone ends and increases stability of the joint.
They are C shaped in appearance and attach at both ends of the intercondylar

Tell Tale Heart Literary Devices
Whenever it fell upon me, my blood ran cold; and so by degrees very gradually I made up my mind to
take the life of the old man, and thus rid myself of the eye forever. Edgar Allan Poe is the author of
Tell Tale Heart, a horror story with a lot of suspense and many different literary writing techniques
infiltrated into the story. In fact, Poe is a master of suspense and horror and the literary techniques he
uses in his writing intensify these two characteristics. Three techniques the Poe uses in Tell Tale Heart
are similes, punctuation and repetition, and point of view. One of the literary techniques that Poe uses
in Tell Tale Heart are similes. One of the reasons that Poe uses similes when he is writing Tell Tale
Heart was because similes were a good way to help get what he was thinking/his point across to the
reader. An example of him doing this in Tell Tale Heart was whenever Poe was talking about how
stealthy and carefully he would watch the man at night. Poe writes So I opened the lantern you cannot
imagine how stealthily, stealthily until at length, a single dim ray, like the thread of the spider, shot out
from the crevice and fell upon the vulture eye. This example from Tell Tale Heart also shows another
reason why Poe uses similes in his writing. This reason is because the similes that Poe uses helps his
readers see the image that he is trying to paint for them more clearly. Finally, Poe uses similes in his
writing because they can help keep his readers focused and because similes can also help grab a reader
s attention. An example of this from Tell Tale Heart is whenever Poe is talking about the beating sound
that he hears that keeps getting louder and louder. He writes, the sound increased...and what could I
do? It was a low, dull, quick sound, as a watch enveloped in cotton... Poe used similes like this one to
help keep his readers interested in what he had to say. In Tell Tale Heart, Poe uses punctuation and
repetition to intensify his writing. One reason why Poe likes to use this literary technique in his
writing so much is because it helps build suspense in the story. Since Poe likes to write horrifying and
suspenseful stories and he likes to keep people on the edge of their

shuffled around to the tunes of Roy Orbison s Only the Lonely . He stumbled around, too preoccupied

together, her breasts touched his chest, and he truly saw her for the first time since he asked her to

Comparing Augustine s Imperative To The Creation Of God
1. This matters because although we cannot see God, he is there. It may seem as though God is far
away when he sitting on his throne, but as Augustine states, it is not a matter of spatial distance. WE
cannot see or feel the distance, although it is there, and while we are not physically standing with Him,
God is holding us in His hands.
2. The formlessness is so imperative to the creation of this world because it intensifies God s power.
He created so much out of nothing. Out of absolute blackness and formlessness. Without
understanding what God started with to create what he did, we cannot fully understand and imagine
His great power.

There are also staff departments, which are the researchers, marketing, accounting, and sales
specializations (Bateman, 2011). Because each Chick fil A has a private owner, the store operator
would be the line department and the corporate office will be the staff department. As defined by
Bateman, a Functional Organization departmentalizes around specialized jobs, such as accounting,
marketing, and production. Each Chick fil A restaurant operates under their own management;
however the marketing, production, accounting, and human resources departments operate from the
corporate office (Chick fil A, 2011). Since, the structure of an organization dictates how the company
will grow, creating a strong foundation will benefit a company in numerous ways. Within any business
there are the organizational functions that can create the type of structure an organization will have. A
business s functions are the things it does. Production, sales, and marketing are a few examples Chick
fil A has within the company. The organizational structure defines the relationship and interactions
between the different parts of the company, and identifies how the chain of command runs through the
different levels. When money is earned at a fast pace, it opens doors for the company to expand. As
the company grows, they begin to hire more employees and they offer new products.

stressful events. They must also be very mechanically inclined as the duties require the use of many
different types of specialized tools and equipment.

ranging from tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands of civilians and soldiers. Despite the

As a result, only the bombing of Nagasaki an Hiroshima became highlighted in history and engrained

Holocaust in the subtitle of her book, became lost in history. Japanese people who sought justice for
Nanking were silenced by death threats, burying the event more. On the other hand, Germany,
regarding the Holocaust, put the blame on not only the army, but also their own government. The
German government focused on their government s indirect participation in the atrocities that ensued
in the Holocaust taking full responsibility for what happened. In the media, there were respectable

camera assistant (AC). They don t realize that they re making a mistake by doing so. When the
Director of Photography (DP) is anxious about the grips, the lights as well as composition, would you
want to leave them also dealing with the duties of lenses and filters?
It s important for you keep in mind that not every project will need a camera assistant, and it s a fact
that corporate events, reality TV, and documentaries stay alive every so often without having to use a
devoted focus puller. Well, there are some situations in which you can t afford a remote focus puller
and plan to go ahead with a skeleton crew. Then there are times when you may allow a production
assistant or intern to shoulder responsibilities of a camera assistant. ... Show more content on

5. Working with Film
Working with film? Then you will certainly need a professional assistant camera (AC).
If there is any drawback of film over digital it s that it seems a whole lot easier for one to waste a great
amount of money when working with film. Pulling focus is a game that one cannot achieve in the
blink of an eye and loading magazines is a main opportunity to damage some stock, and last but
certainly not least, the mechanics of the film camera rely on continuous maintenance as well as care.
Don t consider anyone else, unless you have the right experience working with film on your own. Hire
a pro who s already worked with various film cameras and knows their fine points.
Is Hiring a Focus Puller Important?
A focus puller or the 1st AC (assistant camera) plays a very important role as this person is the one
who sets the camera up at the beginning of the day, prepares the camera for every shot, changing the
camera speed, lens, filters and so on and so

The Internship Reflection
Storyline summary
The Internship is a film in which two middle aged salesmen, Billy McMahon (Vince Vaughn) and
Nick Campbell (Owen Wilson) find that their careers have become redundant due to the increasing
growth and development of modern technology, in which they are not well versed.
Billy McMahon and Nick Campbell now face unemployment and have no desirable directions to
venture towards. It is in the time of this crisis that Billy McMahon shows his resilience to surrender as
he spots the opportunity of a Google internship.
Their unorthodox interview responses and persuasive salesmen nature causes the Google management
to be intrigued enough to accept them into the intern program in spite of their clear lack of the
necessary expertise.

The first example of conflict in the film is in the scene where Nick and Billy find out that their
business is closing down. The source of this conflict is due to a lack of communication from their
former employer, who failed to inform them of the business s foreclosure. Furthermore, the emotional
reactions from Billy, Nick and their employer allowed for the conflict to fester. The former employer
neglected to manage this dysfunctional conflict and thus neither of the conflicted parties benefitted.
Very definitely, the dysfunctional nature of the conflict and an absence of the necessary conflict
management allowed for both parties to leave

Islamic Possession Of Firearms And Explosives
On Feburary 28, 1993, at Mount Carmel in Waco, Texas, agents from the ATF launched a morning
raid against the Branch Davidian compound as part of an investigation involving the group and the
illegal possession of firearms and explosives. The Branch Davidians, led by David Koresh were a
splinter sect of the Seventh day Adventist. As the agents attempted to breach the complex, gunfire
erupted, that begin a fierce bun fight that ultimately left four ATF agents dead and 15 others wounded.
The Branch Davidians had six mortally wounded, and many others injured, including David Koresh,
who was wounded by the front door of the compound. A central aspect of Koresh s teachings was his
assertion that the apocalyptic events predicted in the Bible s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

They were soon joined by Bradley tanks, which fired tear gas canisters through the compound s
windows. The cult members, many with gas masks on, refused to leave, and around 11:40 a.m. the
operation was completed with about 100 canisters of tear gas being fired into the building. Then just
after noon, a fire could be seen coming from multiple locations within the compound, and minutes
later nine members fled the rapidly spreading blaze. Sounds of gunfire were reported, but soon ceased
as the place became completely engulfed by the flames. Koresh and at least 80 of his followers,
including 22 children, died during the government s second assault on their home. The FBI and DOJ
maintained there was conclusive evidence that the members ignited the fire. On the subject of gunfire
during the fire, the government argued that the Davidians were either killing each other as part of a
suicide pact or they were killing dissenters who attempted to escape the ordered suicide by fire. All the
surviving member contest this official government position, along with critics in the press and around
the world, whose cases against the ATF and FBI s handling of the Waco standoff range from
incompetence to premeditated murder. The conspiracy between the FBI, President Clinton, and Janet
Reno resulted in one of the worst, darkest, and most grievous days in our national history. Waco
should remind us that Democrats are no more restrained than the GOP Party when it

Essay On Mississippi History
Mississippi has a very rich history, and its history has made it the glorious state it is today. The first
inhabitants of Mississippi were the Native Americans; the three main tribes were the Chickasaw
Indians who settled in the north and eastern parts of the state, the Choctaw Indians who lived in the
middle part of the state, and the Natchez Indians who occupied the southwest region of the state.
Many present day cities in Mississippi get their names from these early tribes. Hernando De Soto was
the first European to explore the state. He was from Spain and came in search of gold. When he did
not find great riches in gold, De Soto moved on to explore other regions of North America. Next came
the French explorer, Robert Cavalier who claimed the entire Mississippi Valley for France in 1682.
The first French settlement was started in Biloxi which today is called Ocean ... Show more content on

On December 10th, 1817 Mississippi became the 20th state of the Union. Slaves were used to operate
the large plantations, and, in fact, slaves outnumbered the white settlers by 1860. The Civil War
marked a big change in Mississippi. With the election of Abraham Lincoln, slavery was abolished.
Many Civil War battles were fought in Mississippi. The most notable was the Battle of Vicksburg
where Union and Confederate forces fought for 47 straight days. Much of Mississippi lay in ruins after
the war and had to be rebuilt. The lumber industry flourished during this period of reconstruction. The
Great Depression was a very hard time for Mississippians. Many farmers lost their land between 1929
and 1930. Cotton prices fell dramatically and many people were living in poverty. With the coming of
World War II industry soared and the building of an oil refinery once again made the state s economy
successful. By the late 1960 s there were more workers in manufacturing than there were farmers for
the first time in the state s

Artisan Guild Analysis
As a artisan guild is new to Wytheville, many do not understand how the commission base works with
in a guild. The commission percent is understood and agreed upon as a standard through the art
industry. There are some guilds that have a higher commission rate. Artist that are new, usually ask
how this commission works and is explained to all that ask or upon being accepted into the guild, as it
is not a typical commission. We are very proud of our standard of high quality and talent that we will
be part of guild. I know that there are artisans that open their own store to sell their wares but many
artist do not have the time or the funding to sell just there beautiful talent. As a guild, we can bring

Nevada Eye Clinic Case
Good afternoon,
I have been put in charge of reviewing the marketing material to insure that it is in line with the
direction we are heading with the re branding of Nevada Eye and Ear to Nevada Eye Physicians. I
have been reviewing multiple aspects of the process including; the time parameters, outbound
marketing materials and the progress of the website included below is an itemized list of
recommendations for everyone to consider and decide upon. In my opinion all of these
recommendations are in the best interest of the brand and the company.
1.) Mini Pocket Folder
The mini pocket folder is up for final approval, we have submitted minor revisions to the copy which
Jan has updated. You will find a PDF copy of the most recent and hopefully ... Show more content on

The only major point that does need to be decided upon is the name, phone number and email we will
list on the Media Release as the contact. Please keep in mind that this person will be subject to contact
by anyone that reads the article.
5.) Delay the brand release date
The final item up for discussion is the date of going live with the rebrand. I have had discussion with
Jan, Michelle, and Judy as to the status of several key materials needed to facilitate a successful
launch of the new brand. The original date we had discussed was Feb. 29th, after speaking with Jan in
regards to the media release I am proposing that we change the Brand release date to Tuesday, March
8th. Delaying the release by a 8 days would allow us to insure all key materials have been produced
and are in house. Also in speaking with Jan s contact for the Media Release, he recommended having
the release go out on a Tuesday as it is accepted better by all parties involved. Again this is my
recommendation and is up for debate among the group.
Please feel review all items above and contact me with any questions regarding the content. Please
reply all to the email with any suggestions or input on the matters at hand so all can review them.
Thank you and have a wonderful

Inner Ring Essay Arroyo 1 Alex Arroyo Professor Ledri Aguilar English 120 30 August 2013 Inner Rings and the Motives that Come Along C.S Lewis delivered a speech named The Inner Ring at King s College, a University in London. As Lewis continues on in his speech, one may be a little thrown off by what these inner rings are and what exactly they mean to people. Although Lewis mentions both good and harmful inner rings, one could argue that most people find themselves so caught up in these inner rings they do not even realize they are trying to be involved in them for the wrong reasons. Some people strive to have a certain appearance that comes along with being involved in these inner rings that they tend to forget what really is important to them. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Some of these inner rings are the reason we have competition, jealously and spite in the world. It is not right for one to feel left out just because they do not have certain traits or don t have the same views as another. Lewis even acknowledges this with his passage, Unless you take measures to prevent it, this desire is going to be one of the chief motives of your life, from the first day on which you enter your profession until the day when you are too old to care (Lewis 152). An example of today s inner ring would be fraternities at Colleges. People who aren t part of a certain fraternity would feel left out when they see the Frat s doing activities only Frat members are allowed to do. This might make one feel the need to fit in and do certain things they do not enjoy just to be accepted in a fraternity. Although this particular example does not apply to everybody, it still does not hide these inner rings because they can be found everywhere. Arroyo 4 Another example of an inner ring existing is social class in itself. Rich hang out with the rich, poor hang out with the poor. People obviously have different circumstances that make their social class rich or poor, but the ring still exists. Lower class people feel left out when they see the upper class driving nicer cars, eating expensive dinners, and living in expensive homes. The Importance of Perception in Face to Face Communication between Individuals Perception is one of the most important fragments of the communication process. It allows us all to see an individual experience of the world. The process is simple, the brain actively selects, organises and interprets stimuli, in order to process this experience. Even before we engage in communication, we perceive things about the receiver. Our communication is not produced within any single system, but in the intersection of several interrelated systems, each of which is self standing necessarily described by dedicated theories, but each of which is both the product of the others and, in its own limited way, an instance of the other. The medium is, as McLuhan famously observed, a message that is inherent to every message that is created in or consumed from a medium. The medium is, to the extent that we can select among media, also a language such that the message of the medium is not only inherent to a message, but often an element of its composition. In what may be the most extreme view enabled by the processing of messages within media, the medium may also be a person and consumes messages, recreates them, and makes the modified messages available for further consumption. A medium is really none of these things. It is fundamentally a system that enables the construction of messages using a set of languages such that they can be consumed. But a medium is also both all of these things and the product of their interaction. People learn, create, and evolve media as a vehicle for enabling the creation and consumption of messages. The same might be said of each of the constituents of this model. People can be, and often are, the medium (insofar as they ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

On her 18th birthday she took an ecstasy tablet it was believed that she then consumed 7litres of water to contract the effects of the drug. Ultimately Leah died from water intoxication she d consumed so much after taking ecstasy that it stopped her brain from working properly and caused it to swell leading to her death. Heart rate, breathing, body fluids and temperature are all regulated without using having to think about it, the is known as homeostasis. When you take ecstasy (chemically known as MDMA) homeostasis is pushed too far causing it to start to break down. Homeostasis usually regulates body temperature to around 37 39 degrees celsius. In order to maintain these temperatures we cool ourselves down through evaporation of sweat produced from sweat glands in the skin. However there is a limit to how fast our body can cool down, when you take ecstasy you body ignores the warning signals it is being sent. Leah however, was not dancing around or exerting a lot of energy for her to sweat or become hot therefore, it was clear that she did not die from overheating. Ecstasy also affects the water ... • 19. Operant Conditioning Punishment Classical conditioning can be explained through humans best kept secret; urinating in the shower. Though many deny, the sound of running water typically elicits the natural response to urinate. After awhile, it is common to become conditioned to associate a shower (without the water on) with the urge to urinate. Thus, classical conditioning is a learned association between a stimulus (any sight, smell, sound, taste, or touch (like the sound of running water)), and a neutral stimulus (like the shower) that triggers the same response (the urge to urinate). Even before Ivan Pavlov began experimenting with dogs, their normal physiological response was to salivate when they saw food. An unconditioned stimulus is something that occurs naturally ... In a negative reinforcement something is being taken away to increase the tendency that the goal behavior will occur again. Until professors are confident that students are engaged in the material, they will continue to randomly call on students to answer questions. The act of participating takes away the anticipation of being called out, and would enforce the goal behavior of good grades. On the other hand, punishment will decrease a tendency that a behavior will occur again. CSUSM is going to punish failing grades. A positive punishment means something is being added. Another reason for choosing the FE model12 is that it can solve the endogeneity problem through using the FE IV model; the variable GDP per capita used as a proxy of income could be an endogenous variable. An endogenous variables are variables that correlated with the error term (ε௜௧ ), while the variables that uncorrelated with the error term are called exogenous variables. The description of these terms explains that an endogenous variable is determined within the model itself while an exogenous variable is determined outside the model. In this paper, we will use one instrument which is the RGDP of the great importer in 2000. Here is a description why I choose this instrument. First, a country that buys most of other country‟s export can definitely increase the GDP of that country, as the exports will be included in the country‟s GDP calculations. Second, there is no any reason for the GDP of one country to affect the corruption level of another country, which means; there is no any correlation between the GDP of great importer and the domestic factors in the country at which it buys most of its exports. 3.3.3 Regression Results and Discussion Although some of the results in this paper support that in previous papers, but it shows new other findings. When Lincoln was a Congressman in the House of Representatives, during his short term, he loudly opposed the Mexican war held in 1846. His main argument was that the war was unconstitutional and unnecessary and was based on a lie. He faced severe criticism from fellow Whigs including other congressmen for raising voice against the USA intervention in the Mexican territory and promotion of slavery there. This was against the popular President James Polk s moves to acquire lands under USA control. Lincoln thought it was unjust and tyrannous. 2) What evidence does Lincoln use to support his anti war argument? Lincoln believed that Polk had invaded Mexico based on a lie. So he questioned the President Polk s intent of going to war which was based on Mexico crossing national borders in order to draw first blood in the US soil. He challenged Polk in the House floor to prove the claim of waging the Mexican war by providing evidence and facts in a fair and just manner. Lincoln emphasized that Polk should not resort to rhetoric, evasions, and arguments and should be precise and transparent in presenting the facts that led to the war. 1) Mexico was declared independent in 1821 following a series of revolts and political turmoil due to Spanish colonial rule. Specifically, situational judgment tests (SJTs) typically consist of scenarios of hypothetical work situations in which a problem has arisen. Accompanying each scenario are multiple possible ways to respond to the hypothetical situation. The test taker is then asked to judge the possible courses of action (L. A. L. de Meijer et al., 2010, p.229). In terms of the development of SJTs, the scenarios and situations are always gathered by the subject matter experts from specific job related critical incidents; and then subject matter experts would gather information in order to create the possible responses; finally, subject matter experts would develop the scoring keys for the SJTs (Crook et al., 2011). SJT items may be presented in different formats, such as paper pencil based, verbal, video based, or computer based formats (e.g., Clevenger, Pereira, Wiechmann, Schmitt, Schmidt Harvey, 2001; Motowidlo et al., 1990), and participants of the SJTs are usually required to choose the most appropriate option among the several options for each situation or scenario (Christian, Edwards, Bradley, 2010). Bossypants was written to help a woman be successful in today s world, whereas Yes Please is mainly and simply career advice for those going into acting or a similar occupation. My favorite quote from her advice that really gives the reader a sense of her writing style comes from her chapter called treat your career like a bad boyfriend . Your career won t take care of you. It won t call you back or introduce you to its parents. Your career will openly flirt with other people while you re around... Your career will blow you off if you call it too much. In the same chapter, Poehler complains about a person who had the audacity to drop a script in her lap while she was sleeping. She then uses this story to tell her readers that getting into show business really isn t easy and how you have to work extremely hard to get anywhere. The reality is that most people become famous or get great jobs after a very, very long tenure of shoveling sh*t and not because they handed their script to someone on the street (2226). Something that Yes Please s tone has that Bossypants doesn t is how every so often it feels as though Poehler is writing to a toddler with the way she seems to baby difficult things. • 30. Tell Tale Heart Literary Devices Whenever it fell upon me, my blood ran cold; and so by degrees very gradually I made up my mind to take the life of the old man, and thus rid myself of the eye forever. Edgar Allan Poe is the author of Tell Tale Heart, a horror story with a lot of suspense and many different literary writing techniques infiltrated into the story. In fact, Poe is a master of suspense and horror and the literary techniques he uses in his writing intensify these two characteristics. Three techniques the Poe uses in Tell Tale Heart are similes, punctuation and repetition, and point of view. One of the literary techniques that Poe uses in Tell Tale Heart are similes. One of the reasons that Poe uses similes when he is writing Tell Tale Heart was because similes were a good way to help get what he was thinking/his point across to the reader. An example of him doing this in Tell Tale Heart was whenever Poe was talking about how stealthy and carefully he would watch the man at night. Poe writes So I opened the lantern you cannot imagine how stealthily, stealthily until at length, a single dim ray, like the thread of the spider, shot out from the crevice and fell upon the vulture eye. This example from Tell Tale Heart also shows another reason why Poe uses similes in his writing. This reason is because the similes that Poe uses helps his readers see the image that he is trying to paint for them more clearly. Finally, Poe uses similes in his writing because they can help keep his readers focused and because similes can also help grab a reader s attention. An example of this from Tell Tale Heart is whenever Poe is talking about the beating sound that he hears that keeps getting louder and louder. He writes, the sound increased...and what could I do? It was a low, dull, quick sound, as a watch enveloped in cotton... Poe used similes like this one to help keep his readers interested in what he had to say. In Tell Tale Heart, Poe uses punctuation and repetition to intensify his writing. One reason why Poe likes to use this literary technique in his writing so much is because it helps build suspense in the story.
