The Importance Of Media Laws In Canada
Although the media requires editorial freedom, but to ask are media laws necessary? Yes they are to an
extent, because in the case of Canada s cultural media and industries and cultural needs it can be said
to be other wise. The media has turned from a cultural providing platform to a platform that only feeds
on profit from big industries, media companies have noticed that the cultural needs do not satisfy the
taste of there consumers so they there for refer to ways that can provide profit. Private companies or
individuals majorly own the media and all companies have the same goal, PROFIT it has become a
major priority for all companies to derive profit from what ever they venture in that s why the
Canadian media is a profit driving platform that disregards the essence of cultural needs, they tend to
provide content from other sources which harm the Canadian cultural needs which in this case

Such include words or images that would clearly endanger the rule of law, society s peace, or the
safety of individuals: for example, incitement to violence, calls for discrimination, or show of child
pornography. The media should provide more means of expressing the Canadian culture in this age; it
has been shown that the Internet has become a booming place for all videos and due to that
concentration on video channels have been disembarked, the media should therefore use the internet to
show Canadian culture to a certain level that is acceptable. Self regulation by the government or a
governing body on the media is a key to ensuring those continuity on Canada s media industries and

Rienhard Heydrich s Death During The Holocaust
The Holocaust was a dark time in humanity s history; a time that should be looked back on in shame.
People lost their compassion and empathy towards one another. These emotions are essential in
keeping peace and harmony throughout the world, and give mankind a natural kindheartedness
towards one another. Having the innate sense to feel for one another and understand the trials and
tribulations others go through is what truly makes us human. This is what was lost during the
Holocaust. The inherent good that humans are born with, was taken away by Adolf Hitler and his
Third Reich. It led to the deaths of entire cultures and millions of innocent peoples lives were changed
for the worse. However, the Nazis did not carry out the mass killings of ... Show more content on

According to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Heydrich died in June 1942 from
injuries sustained during an assassination attempt by Czech partisans (United States Holocaust

was one of the best National Socialists, one of the staunchest defenders of the concept of the German
Reich and one of the greatest opponents of all enemies of this Reich (United States Holocaust
Memorial Museum). Before his death, he was tasked with helping structure the Final Solution.
Himmler and Hitler sent him to represent them in the Wannsee Conference in January 20, 1942, to
discuss to the German offices the solution to the Jewish question (United States Holocaust Memorial
Museum). Judging by Hitler s words and Heydrich s high ranking in the Nazi government, Heydrich
was very well respected by Himmler and was his right hand man. And when Heydrich died in 1942
Himmler was very hurt by it and wanted to carry on his legacy. This is what triggered Himmler to start
the Final Solution. So he commenced Operation Rienhard, which was named in honor of Heydrich.
Operation Rienhard was started in the autumn of 1941 (but later renamed in honor of Heydrich) and
marked the start of the Final Solution as history knows it today (United States Holocaust Memorial
Museum). Its goal was to resettle (i.e., to kill) the Polish Jews, (2) to exploit the skilled or manual
labor of some Polish Jews before killing them, (3) to secure the personal property of the Jews
(clothing, currency, jewelry, and other possessions), and (4) to identify and secure alleged hidden and

The Vermont Teddy Bear Company
Almost everybody has had a plush bear when they were young. It s a symbol of tenderness and
gentleness. I personally had different bears made in Germany, China, England...with different forms,
colors and names.
Even if the teddy bear manufacturing is a saturated industry with many competitors, it has not
prevented the Vermont teddy Bear Company to launch its own business.
The Vermont Teddy Bear company (VTB) was created in 1980 by John Sortino. Currently the
company is located in the city of Shelburne (Vermont, USA) and counts 289 employees. Vermont

To take advantage of these opportunities above cited, the Vermont Teddy Bear company thought of
distinguishing himself by different ways (competitive advantages) which are the following: * Its
unique delivery system (The Bear Gram®) uses Direct Marketing by providing you complementary
services. Indeed, the Bear Gram is a system which sends to your recipient the teddy bear of your
choosing with a delicious gourmet (caramel or chocolate) and your own personal message printed on a
colorful gift card in a fun gift box.
With its online website, the VTB Company reaches a larger target group.
* Its Brand image: * Made in USA * Quality handmade * A lifetime and delivery guarantee on every
bear * The possibility to customize your teddy bear (With the help of a Bear counselor) and to buy a
big teddy bear from 3 to 6 feet! These are probably the best things which leave the most important
impact on the customer.
This Brand image was reinforced by its numerous Vermont Teddy Bear advertising campaigns on the
TV and radio. These are especially well done and hilarious in order that people remember the brand.
Thanks to these advertising campaigns, we can see that the main target is males from ages 18 54 who
are looking for a unique gift for the women in their life. 2. Difficulties

Freedom Of Speech Rights In The United States
America is a nation that takes pride in its ability to protect the fundamental rights of their citizens such
as those mentioned in the 1st amendment. Unfortunately, that was not always the case. During the
Lochner era, the right to a freedom of contract was considered a fundamental right. While rights such
as freedom of speech, freedom of religion, and voting, were considered non fundamental. It wasn t
until the New Deal era that the court changed the standard to be that rights such as freedom of
religion, speech, and voting, were fundamental rights. It is the New Deal standard that is the
foundation for our freedom of speech right today in America (GGW, 2017). In other places, the
standards are not the same, such as Germany. Both countries grant the right of freedom of speech, but
speech is regulated and justified differently. In this paper, the focus will be on how the ruling and
justification in the German case Auschwitz lie differs and compares to American constitutional law
regarding freedom of speech.
In Auschwitz lie, a case was brought in front of the court regarding the freedom of speech right under
Basic Law, which is the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Germany. The National Democratic
Party of Germany (NDP) was hosting an event, and had decided to invite the historian David Irving.
The NDP could host the event, but was obligated to adhere to specific conditions. The specific
condition was that there could not be any statement regarding the persecution

The Cariboo Gold Rush took place between 1860 1863 in the Cariboo Mountain region. The Cariboo
Gold Rush began when people from The Fraser River Gold Rush saw gold in the Horsefly River. After
the news spread of the gold near Barkerville, gold seekers were attracted and they came for the gold.
The promising discoveries of gold were made at Williams, Lightning and Lowhee creeks. Barkerville,
Camerontown, and Richfield were established 125 kilometers southeast of Prince George. Barkerville
is the only one of the three administrative towns to outlast the mining boom days. Barkerville deposits
were worked from 1864 to the 1930s which required complex and expensive technology to remove the

CO2 Evolved due to Temperature s Effect on Yeast Fermentation of Glucose
Abstract
This experiment measured the amount of CO2 evolved based on yeast fermentation of glucose. It was
hypothesized that at room temperature, about 22 degrees Celsius, less CO2 would be produced than
when tested at 37 degrees Celsius. In order to determine the amount of CO2 evolved, an experiment
was set up involving yeast, glucose, deionized water, and heat. To begin the experiment, six
fermentation flasks were acquired. Six milliliters of 10% glucose was pipetted into each flask,
followed by 10 mL of deionized water and 8 mL of the prepared yeast solution. After each flask was
placed at the appropriate temperatures necessary for the experiment, the production of CO2 started to
be monitored. Data was recorded consecutively every two minutes over a time period of twenty
minutes, and recorded in a data chart. The average CO2 production at 37 degrees Celsius and 22
degrees Celsius was determined from the t test results. According to these results, the average amount
of CO2 produced after twenty minutes at 37 degrees Celsius was 123 millimeters, and the average
CO2 produced at 22 degrees was 26 millimeters. These results proved the hypothesis as more ... Show

In this experiment, the rate of fermentation was increased while at higher temperatures due to the
increased rate of enzymatic activity. Enzymatic activity due to the level of kinetic energy also plays a
significant role in the rate of yeast fermentation of glucose (Gale, T., 2006). Given that enzymes are
more active at higher temperatures, this means that fermentation occurs at higher temperatures as well.
Since heat causes enzymes to become more active, naturally more CO2 was produced over time at 37
degrees rather than at 22

Importance Of Spring Festival Essay
Spring Festival Festivals and traditions are important part of human cultural. Many countries has their
special festivals and traditions: People in Thailand celebrate Water Sprinkling Festival at April every
year. They splash water to each other and believe they can start a new year with beauty and purity;
Indian splash colorful powder to each other at March to express their best wishes; Spanish celebrate
Carnival to show their love for freedom and peace. China, which is a strong country with five
thousand year history, has their own festivals as well and Spring Festival is them. There are many

This festival includes knowledge and belief of Chinese for the last four thousand years. Through
celebrating this festival, people can more comprehensively understand Chinese culture, especially for
children. They can learn some knowledge about history and culture and be proud of their country. As
the same time, it offers people a chance to reunite with their family. Many parents have to leave their
children because they have to work in other places. Spring Festival is almost the only chance that they
can get along with their children face by face and enjoy the company with their families. They can
create many happy memories with their children by playing firecrackers and telling the story behind
this festival to them. Children will understand the love and hard working from parents. It is also an
important period for people to refresh their mind and release their soul so that they have energy and
passion to face new challenges next year. Moreover, it creates a big market and promotes
consumption. Before the festival, people purchase food for reunion dinner and new clothes for their
family. Firecrackers, couplets and other festival mementos are not only essential for people to express
good wishes to the new year, but also a big market to sell

Thomas Edison And The Western Society And Mankind
When looking back at the people in history the one name that always seems to stand out is Thomas
Alva Edison. In this essay I will talk about Thomas Edison and his great contributions to the Western
Society and mankind. Thomas Alva Edison was born February 11, 1847 in Milan, Ohio, son to Samuel
Ogden Edison, Jr and Nancy Matthews Elliott (Frost). Edison s mother taught him the three R s
because he only had three months of formal education. Eventually, Edison began to favor in
independent self instruction because of his poor hearing. Edison in his younger years took to reading
books to learn about the arts, the histories, and the sciences (Beals). At a very young age Edison
became an adult (Beals). He had talked his parents into letting him sell newspapers, snacks, and candy
at the railroad; he had also started a separate business on selling fruits and vegetables. When learning
about Edison in his childhood, one can understand he was not the average kid growing up. He had a
different approach to life in which he craved for knowledge and obtained a hard work ethic in his
young years. In his mid teens he saved the son of the railroad stationmaster from a box cart and the
grateful father taught Edison how to master Morse code and the telegraph. This allowed him to get a
job as a telegraph operator (Beals). This opened the way for Edison s experimenting with technology
and how to further enhance it. After working as a telegraph operator he created his first invention, the

Essay on Drifters by Bruce Dawe
Drifters by Bruce Dawe This poem is about a family that s always on the move, with no place to settle
down for long, hence the poem was titled Drifters to describe this family. Drifters looks at the
members of this family response to frequently change and how it has affected them. This poem is told
in third person narration in a conversational tone. This gives the feeling as if someone who knows this
family is telling the responder the situation of this family. The use of phrases like notice how the

the narrator and the responder are both present at the scene when the family s moving at the time. The

As well as giving us an idea about how long the family stayed in this home for they berries were also
used as a symbol that relate to the Drifters themselves. When they arrived, She (Tom s wife) held out
her hand bright with berries, the first of the season, and said: Make a wish, Tom, make a wish. The
fresh berries signify fresh hope for the family, especially for the older members of the family who
hopes to be able to settle down at last. By the time of they re leaving, the berries will have become
Shrivelled fruits . The berries have changed and the hope that it once signified will be dried like the
berries. The different family members react differently to the decision to move. The small children
wouldn t be upset by having to move again, in fact they ll be excited because they re young and it s all
fun and adventure like to them. Perhaps for a family like this the young children may have been in
situations like this many times, maybe for as long as they remember. and the brown kelpie pup
dashing about and tripping everyone up, gives a very real image of a family moving houses with pets.
The first nine lines of the poem gives the responder a feeling that this is just an ordinary family
moving, though and she ll go out to the vegetable patch and pick up all the green tomatoes from the
vines, gives the reader a feeling that the decision made to move was made quite abruptly as they can t

Mental Health Issues In Social Media
2.2 The situation now Looking back at how the stigma surrounding mental illness impact on people in
results of media portrayal, there is an urgent need in reducing stigma and raising awareness in order to
prevent social discrimination of people with mental illness and to encourage those with mental illness
to speak up what they are going through. Patrick Corrigan Illinois Institute of Technology

use of negative and inaccurate images of mentally ill individuals, mental health professionals and also

from time to time and it needs to be reduce. The incorporation of campaign in social media as a
medium to raise awareness regarding this matter I seen as a promising avenue in stigma reduction as it
improves the condition, hence breaking down the stereotypes (Research and Development

Character Analysis Of Robinson Crusoe
I take notice of here, those discontented people, who cannot enjoy comfortably what God has given
them; because they see and covet something that He has not give them. Robinson Crusoe (Defoe 95).
In the book, Robinson Crusoe the main character Robinson Crusoe was a man who made many
choices, some of which were made selfishly, and without the guidance of God or other influential
people of whom he should have listened to. Throughout his life Crusoe learned many things through
experience. His relationship with God as well as his character improved along his journey and
strengthened when he allowed them to. Crusoe s well aspired dream of becoming a sailor affected his
relationship with God and ultimately began his journey of growth. At age 19, Robinson Crusoe
decided he was not going to go on to work in law, as his father had planned for him, but that he was
going to be a sailor. His father attempted to convince Crusoe of his disapproval and to prevent him
from becoming a sailor. Crusoe however decided against what his father had said and left home even
though he was told not to. In the book he says, I consulted neither my mother or father any more, nor
so much as sent them word of it; but leaving them to hear of it as they might, without asking God s
blessing, or my father s, without any consideration of circumstances or consequences, and in an ill
hour, God knows, on the first of September 1651I went on board a ship bound for London. (Defoe 4).
In his time as a sailor he was a part of 4 separate voyages, all of which resulted in narrow escapes of
death for Crusoe, but despite the fact that God was obviously trying to give signs to him of why he
should not have been a sailor, Crusoe blames bad luck and fate for his troubles, and continues to
disobey his parents, and God. At this point of his life, Crusoe was a selfish man who thought of what
was best for himself, and ignored others opinions, and did not seek God s help in his times of need. A
little later in life, with his bad luck along his journeys continuing, Crusoe survives a shipwreck on his
way to Guinea, in which all of his fellow sailors are killed. He survived by the grace of God and
somehow swam his way to a deserted island. Although just

Marx s Critique Of Capitalism And Society Essay
Alienation was a topic of central importance to the young Marx, which analysed the way in which
society organises itself around the modes of production and how this materialistic structure
(particularly in a capitalist society) can lead to a sense of estrangement or separation of a worker from
the product of his labour. In order to demonstrate this theory of alienation, I will examine it in relation
to Marx s critique of capitalist society and will then proceed to talk about the different forms and
whether or not the phenomenon is still seen today in contemporary society.
In order to understand the concept of alienation and its dimensions, we must first understand how it is
related to Marx s critique of capitalism and society. As stated above, Marx believed that the
development of history was a sequence of the modes of production. This refers to the way that society
is organised to produce goods and services, vital to human existence. Marx believed as human beings,
in order to survive and enhance our social being, we must produce material requirements of
subsistence (Seligman, 1901, p163) and the way that we do this is through the modes of production.
The modes of production consist of two major aspects: 1) the productive forces i.e. land, raw material,
labour power, machinery, tools etc. used to produce material goods 2) the relations of production:
whether you own and control the means of production or whether you do not. (McLennan et al, 2010)
According to Marx,

The Problem Of Water Conservation
Water is very important in everyone s daily lives. They need it to shower, brush their teeth, cook,
taking care of the landscapes, and most importantly to live. Water is everywhere but as some people
say it will soon become scarce due to the fact people are being very wasteful with it. Water
conservation is a big topic in the United States when it comes to California, a state known for their
droughts. It seems like every years there is always something on the news headlines talking about a
drought in California. Conserving water would obviously become an even bigger deal if we lived in
California instead of the Midwest. Obviously the topic of water conservation is still a big topic in the
Midwest because as a nation, people are wasteful and taking having water for granted in our everyday
lives. Although scientists and astronomers are learning how they can get water from comets and
asteroids if planet Earth were to run out of water one day it is still in the experimental phase and is not
a for sure thing on Earth. For the time being, instead of wasting the water, in people s everyday life s
they can help reduce the risk of water going completely extinct by understanding how the water is
going to waste, solutions to saving water, and being smart when dealing with landscaping.
People say that the Earth is running short on water but never seem to point out that there are some
backup plans that are being put into action and tested out currently by scientist. When people think

Situational Analysis:
This essay is a formal academic manuscript that was written to provide personal bias about the topic
of euthanasia or physician assisted suicide. More specifically the essay addresses the religious aspects
of this topic and what role it plays in the conflict. I, the author, am applying to the nursing school at
IVY Tech. The audience for this piece of writing will be other nursing students whom will also be
involved in this complicated topic. These students will be enrolled in the IVY Tech Nursing program,
in the next two years. There are many people will not be directly affected by this topic. Hopefully, this
essay will provide an educated opinion for these nursing students. The goal is to persuade any of them
to think or acknowledge this controversial topic. The goal is for students to focus on this relevant issue
in their soon to be workplace before the conflict is front and center with one of their patients. Many
people are brought up with one belief or the other. This essay provides one perspective on the this
topic. It pushes the reader to ask him/herself questions, which they may not have done previously.
Medical practitioners need to know where they stand on this issue, instead of making decisions
themselves while being in fear of being prosecuted or torn between socially accepted norms and

Analysis Of Ransom Of Red Chief By O Henry
In the Ransom of Red Chief by O. Henry the two main characters, Bill and Sam, plan on kidnapping a
kid in hopes of getting some money out of the ransom. Bill and Sam kidnap Ebenezer Dorset s boy,
Johnny, because they know that Dorset has a lot of money. The one thing they didn t know was how
annoying Johnny really was. A lesson that this story shows is that plans can change.
Towards the beginning of the story the plan already starts to change. This happens when they kidnap
Johnny. Bill tries to bribe him with candy as a way to get him into the van. This doesn t go as planned.
The story says The boy catches Bill neatly in the eye with a piece of brick... That boy put up a fight
like a welterweight cinnamon bear; but, at last, we got him down in the bottom of the buggy and drove
away. This shows that even before much begins to happen plans aren t going as Bill and Sam thought
they would. After that, they take him to the cave, where they plan to keep Johnny, and the boy and Bill
play Indian. Johnny didn t even complain about wanting to go home like Sam thought he would. After

Colossian Epistle To The Church In Colossae
The epistle to the church in Colossae was written by Paul during his incarceration at Rome in A.D. 60.
Many years after the establishment of the church, Epaphras travels to Rome to visit Paul and bring
some good news of the Colossian congregation. But the main purpose of his visit is to request Paul s
help against the heresies that were tearing at the core of the Colossian church. Paul s letter to the
Colossians not only exhorts and cautions, but primarily focuses on the supremacy of Christ and the
power of the gospel message (Elwell and Yarbrough 301).
Paul begins his Colossians epistle by expressing his interest in the church. He had never had a chance
to visit Colossae, for this community of faith was the result of his nearby ministry in Ephesus. Paul
speaks of gratitude for the faith the Colossians have shown thus far, as we have heard of your faith in
Christ Jesus and of the love that you have for all the saints (English Standard Version, Col. 1.4). ...

Someone had come to Colossae and taught an alluring but dangerous philosophy regarding strict rules
for eating, drinking, and religious festivals (Elwell 302). Paul knew these teachings were empty
deceit... and not according to Christ (Col. 2.8). Rather than subjecting themselves to the bondage of
false teachers, they are to understand who they are in Christ and experience the true freedom that
knowledge brings. Their sin debt has been paid by the work of Christ on the cross, and they are now
alive to God. He exhorts the Colossians to progress in faith, with the living Christ as their

The Life of Galileo Galilei
Galileo Galilei is considered one of the greatest scientists of all time. He was an Italian
mathematician, astronomer, and philosopher who very strongly supported Copernicanism, which is the
idea that the earth orbits the sun. It was hard to advocate Copernicanism because it was a very
controversial idea during that time. Galileo was a leader in the Scientific Revolution. He made
discoveries in the sciences of motion, astronomy, and strength of materials. In motion, his famous
scientific discoveries were circular inertia, law of falling bodies and parabolic path of projectiles. In
mathematics, he changed philosophy from a verbal explanation to a mathematical one in which
experimentation was a method for discovering facts of nature. In astronomy, he revolutionized
telescope and made way for the recognition of the Copernican heliocentric system. Galileo changed
the world forever. Galileo s childhood was full of schooling and studying. Galileo was born in Pisa,
Italy, on February 15, 1564. Galileo, the oldest child in the family, was born to Guilia Ammannati, and
Vincenzo Galilei, who was a great musician. When Galileo was eight, he moved to Florence. He went
to the monastery school at Vallombrosa in his teens. Galileo later studied at University of Pisa, where
he was supposed to study being a doctor, but instead he was captivated with math and decided to make
math and philosophy his job, against his father s will. Even though he was very young, Galileo

Central Park Essay
Central Park
Central Park was the first landscaped public park in the United States. Advocates of creating the park
primarily wealthy merchants and landowners admired the public grounds of London and Paris and
urged that New York needed a comparable facility to establish its international reputation. A public
park, they argued, would offer their own families an attractive setting for carriage rides and provide
working class New Yorkers with a healthy alternative to the saloon. After three years of debate over
the park site and cost, in 1853 the state legislature authorized the City of New York to use the power
of eminent domain to acquire more than 700 acres of land in the center of Manhattan. An irregular
terrain of swamps ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After a new city charter in 1870 restored the park to local control, the mayor appointed park
commissioners. In 1857, the Central Park Commission held the country s first landscape design
contest and selected the Greensward Plan, submitted by Frederick Law Olmsted, the park s
superintendent at the time, and Calvert Vaux, an English born architect and former partner of the
popular landscape gardener, Andrew Jackson Downing. The designers sought to create a pastoral
landscape in the English romantic tradition. Open rolling meadows contrasted with the picturesque
effects of the Ramble and the more formal dress grounds of the Mall (Promenade) and Bethesda
Terrace. In order to maintain a feeling of uninterrupted expanse, Olmsted and Vaux sank four
Transverse Roads eight feet below the park s surface to carry cross town traffic. Responding to
pressure from local critics, the designers also revised their plan s circulation system to separate
carriage drives, pedestrian walks, and equestrian paths. Vaux, assisted by Jacob Wrey Mould, designed
more than forty bridges to eliminate grade crossings between the different routes. The building of
Central Park was one of nineteenth century New York s most massive public works projects. Some
20,000 workers Yankee engineers, Irish laborers, German gardeners, and native born stonecutters
reshaped the site s topography to create the pastoral landscape. After blasting out rocky

Mad Cow Disease
Bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE), better know as Mad cow disease is a relatively new
disease. Most sources state that BSE first showed up in Great
Britain in 1986 [Dealler p.5] but some say it popped up in 1985 [Greger p.1].
However the official notification was not until 21 June, 1988 [Dealler stats.
p.1]. Spongiform encephalopathies are invariable fatal neurodegenerative diseases and there is no
treatment nor is there a cure for this disease [Greger
p.1]. The recent scare of BSE has arisen because of the contraction of
Creutzfeldt Jakob disease (CJD: see Appendix B) in humans from eating beef products. Although
there are many forms of Spongiform encephalopathies that affect a wide range of animals, BSE has ...

BSE, is a slowly progressing degenerative disease affecting the central nervous system of cattle. BSE
is the same as most of the other spongiform encephalopathies, they evoke no immune response and
consequently slowly accumulate for an incubation period up to 30 years. You cannot detect them,
purify then, nor can you isolate them [Greger p.2]. One of the main issues that affect most farmers is
how do they know if a cow has BSE. Cattle affected by BSE develop a progressive degeneration of
the nervous system. Affected animals may display changes in temperament, such as nervousness or
aggression, abnormal posture; incoordination and difficulty in rising, decreased milk production, or
loss of body condition despite continued appetite [Kent p.10]. However it has been noted the signs in
American cows is much different. They instead stagger to their death like downer cows do. quot;A
downer cow quot; is referring to the industry term which describes cows who fall down and are too
sick to get up [Greger p.4].
There is no treatment so all affected cattle die. The incubation period ranges from two to eight years
[Hodgson p.2]. Following the onset of clinical signs, the animal s condition deteriorates until it dies or
is destroyed. This usually takes from two weeks to six months. Most cases in Great Britain have
occurred in dairy cows between three and five years of age [Dealler Bio p.7].

Kubla Khan
If a man could pass thro Paradise in a Dream, have a flower presented to him as a pledge that his Soul
had really been there, found that flower in his hand when he awoke Aye! and what then? (CN, iii
4287)
Kubla Khan is a fascinating and exasperating poem written by Samuel Taylor Coleridge (. Almost
everyone who has read it, has been charmed by its magic. It must surely be true that no poem of
comparable length in English or any other language has been the subject of so much critical
commentary. Its fifty four lines have spawned thousands of pages of discussion and analysis. Kubla
Khan is the sole or a major subject in five book length studies; close to 150 articles and book chapters

Christabel , an unfinished gothic ballad, evokes a sinister atmosphere, hinting at evil and the
grotesque. In his poems Coleridge s detailed perception of nature links scene and mood, and leads to a
contemplation of moral and universal concerns. In his theory of poetry Coleridge stressed the aesthetic
quality as the primary consideration. The metrical theory on which Christabel is constructed helped to
break the fetters of 18th century correctness and monotony and soon found disciples, among others
Walter Scott and Lord Byron.
Opium and the Dream of Kubla Khan
Coleridge s use of opium has long been a topic of fascination, and the grouping of Coleridge, opium
and Kubla Khan formed an inevitable triad long before Elisabeth Schneider combined them in the title
of her book. It is tempting on a subject of such intrinsic interest to say more than is necessary for the
purpose in hand.
Since the medicinal use of opium was so common and wide spread, it is not surprising to learn that its
use involved neither legal penalties nor public stigma. All of the Romantic poets (except Wordsworth)
are known to have used it, as did many other prominent contemporaries. Supplies were readily
available: in 1830, for instance, Britain imported 22,000 pounds of raw opium. Many Englishmen, like
the eminently respectable poet parson George Crabbe, who took opium in regular but moderate
quantity for nearly forty years, were addicts in ignorance, and led stable and

The Psychology Of Public Support For Punishing Rule Essay
Three Strikes and You Are Out, but Why? The Psychology of Public Support for Punishing Rule
Breakers By Tom Tyler and Robert Boeckmann  Background Understanding the social meaning of
rule breaking behavior Why do people want to punish rule breakers? 1. The sources of support for the
punishment of rule breaking behavior 2. The nature of public support for punishing those who break
social rules 3 basic sources of support 1. Crime related concerns 2. Concerns about social conditions
3. Concerns about social values 2 views of the nature of public support 1. The instrumental judgement
that the world is dangerous 2. The relational judgement that the world lacks social cohesion California
s three strikes initiative which mandates life in prison for anyone convicted of three felonies From the
public sentiment perspective, three strikes initiative is well designed to capture the prevailing public
mood about rule breaking. Sentence length is automatically determined by the law. Hence, the three
strikes initiative was an ideal initiative to capture prevailing public alienation and dissatisfaction 1.
Initiative is punitive Punishments enacted significantly increased the length of time career criminals
will spend in prison 2. Initiative is anti authority It is consistent with general cynicism and lack of
confidence in legal authorities because it limits the discretionary power of judges  Theories of Public

Saving Grace, Enduring Love
Saving Grace, Enduring Love With there being over 6500 languages spoken around the world and
more than 5000 different ethnicities in existence, the probability of finding one single idea for the
entire world to agree on is slim to none. In fact, with some countries being home multiple diverse
cultures, the fact that they themselves are even able to come to an agreement as a nation is an amazing
thing. The world is vast and its people differ like night and day, and yet, the Christians of the world
are still able to band together under one idea. Although they may have different customs and
procedures, Christians worldwide are all able to collectively agree on a few specific things: the mighty
forces of God s saving grace, his enduring love, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the Old Testament, God was more of a father figure to mankind. The children of God are sinning
wildly and still learning the ways of the world. The relationship between God and man was a journey
from stern father to friend in the Old Testament, while in the New Testament, conversely, we see God
almost as our equal. Encased in the body of a man, Jesus was available to us in a way that was not
before. Still with all the power of God, suddenly we could approach Him as a friend the father and the
friend and teacher molding into one. Through thick and thin, God guides us, teaches us, and loves us
more than anything. His love is not limited to certain kinds of people either; it is selfless and all
consuming. As Ephesians 1:4 states just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world,
that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love. God chose to love us, and He cares for
the troubled and oppressed just as much as the privileged upperclassman. In fact, the bible reminds us
that it is our Godly duty to remember and take action against the difficulties that oppressed groups
face. True religion is caring for someone who cannot take care of himself or herself. Because God
loves all of us so much, he also wants to push us to emulate him and care for orphans, widows and all
other types of oppressed individuals that are overlooked in society and unable to

Role Of Animals In Mesolithic Times
Mesolithic humans needed to manipulate nature to advance. For all of the Paleolithic period and the
beginning of the Mesolithic period, animals were wild and untamed. This made it hard for people to
productively move a large group of animals from one place to another. It was also much harder to
slaughter an undomesticated animal than a domesticated one. When you are already crunched for time
trying to survive, you cannot afford the time it takes to kill a wild animal who is running around like
crazy. When animals became domesticated all of these troubles went away. It was easier for people to
move herds of animals from one grazing spot to another, it was easier and quicker to slaughter
animals. Naturally, animals are untamed, a necessary aspect ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Dogs were also domesticated. Unlike dogs, cows, goats, and pigs were mainly used for food and their
coats. However, dogs were used for hunting, and guarding property. Dogs are very useful for hunting
because they can smell animals from very far away. They also can provide protection if you get
ambushed by a herd of animals or another group of hunters. Being able to leave your property and
possessions, knowing that they will be there is a very comforting feeling. One way someone could do
this in the Mesolithic period is guard dogs. Dogs were very vicious, strong fighters. If your dog(s)
were guarding your property they would guard it or die trying. Another very important advancement
of humans. The ability to store water was essential to humans advancement. Without it, humans would
not have been able to make it through winters and droughts. If they didn t figure out how to craft a
bowl from clay they would have had no way of storing water. In severe conditions such as a drought,
when there is no water to be found, or in the winter, when all the water is frozen solid, the ability to
store water in your shelter was huge. Before people made pottery they had to go and find water when
they were thirsty, but with the invention of pottery, they can store as much as their pottery can

Book Of Job Rhetorical Analysis
The Book of Job opens with a description of Job, a blameless and upright man who is faithful to God
and adheres to His commandments. Satan suggests that the only reason Job is faithful to God is
because God has blessed him with only good things in his life; Job has never had to experience
tremendous pain or suffering thus far. In response to this, God allows Satan to take away Job s
possessions, to kill his children, and to inflict bodily harm to him in an attempt to get Job to turn on
God. After all these horrible things happen, Job still refuses to curse God s name. Instead, Job begins
to curse the things around him, questioning why he was ever born in the first place and wondering
why God is allowing this to happen. In Job 40 42, God asks Job a series of rhetorical questions that ...

However, this idea of measure for measure did not explain the injustices and bad things happening to
good people that the Rabbis saw in their everyday lives. One of the most accepted explanations for
this seeming inconsistency is that there is life beyond the grave which gives a distinct experience that
must be taken into consideration (Cohen 116). Additionally, Rabbi Mier s line, And I will be gracious
to whom I will be gracious, although he may not deserve it, And I will show mercy on whom I will
show mercy, although he may not deserve it, sums up the idea that God sometimes acts in mysterious
ways that are above human reasoning (Blackboard). Similarly, a writing from Rabbi Joseph addresses
how good people can pass away before their time comes. Once again, the Rabbi suggests that tragic
things like this are a part of life and explains how one must have faith that God s plan will all work out

The Role Of Poetry In The Bard By James Thomson And Thomas...
The role of the poet is constructed through various means within the poetry of the eighteenth century.
This essay shall James Thomson and Thomas Gray in their construction of the role of the poet.
Thomson s Spring conveys the role of the poet as being multifaceted. Contrary to this, Gray
establishes the role of the poet as one of isolation and being an outsider whilst expressing anxiety over
the declining role of the poet, as seen in The Bard . To begin, this essay shall examine the forms used
by the poets. Thomson makes of the Miltonic blank verse. By doing this, the role of the poet is
conveyed as multifaceted as a range of subjects are discussed. Gray uses the form of the Pindaric ode
in order to establish the idea of the poet being ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The ode was considered to create distance between the poet and the audience (Zionkowski, pg334).
This is conveyed through the emotional complexity of the ode. The ode works in the genre of both
eulogy, as the bard is in mourning, and exulting through the victory of the bard in the end. However,
the reader is unable to sympathise with the bard figure which creates a distance between both reader
and poet. The emotion is more than mourning. The poet is mourning over the loss of his own
community, the Welsh bards, and is the last of his kind. The reader is unable to connect emotionally
with the bard as the reader has not experienced this type of loss. Thus distance is created, leading to
the poet being isolated. This then aids in turning the audience into a passive object much like Edward
and his army is passive in the bard s prophecy (Zionkowski, pg345). Thus, the role of the poet
becomes one of distance from the readership, placing the audience as being passive. Thus through the
form, the role of the poet is constructed. By placing themselves in a literary tradition, Thomson and
Gray highlight a deep lineage the poet has. The role of the poet, therefore, is part of a larger history
and tradition. Furthermore, Thomson is able to construct the role of the poet as being multifaceted as
the freedom of the Miltonic blank verse allows him to cover various subjects. The use of Pindaric ode
creates distance between the poet and reader. This is due to the deep emotional complexity of the
subject matter which the reader cannot sympathise with. Thus, the audience is kept at a distance,
unable to interact with the text. The poem is then only author centered (Zionkowski,

  • 3. Rienhard Heydrich s Death During The Holocaust The Holocaust was a dark time in humanity s history; a time that should be looked back on in shame. People lost their compassion and empathy towards one another. These emotions are essential in keeping peace and harmony throughout the world, and give mankind a natural kindheartedness towards one another. Having the innate sense to feel for one another and understand the trials and tribulations others go through is what truly makes us human. This is what was lost during the Holocaust. The inherent good that humans are born with, was taken away by Adolf Hitler and his Third Reich. It led to the deaths of entire cultures and millions of innocent peoples lives were changed for the worse. However, the Nazis did not carry out the mass killings of ... Before his death, he was tasked with helping structure the Final Solution. Himmler and Hitler sent him to represent them in the Wannsee Conference in January 20, 1942, to discuss to the German offices the solution to the Jewish question (United States Holocaust Memorial Museum). Judging by Hitler s words and Heydrich s high ranking in the Nazi government, Heydrich was very well respected by Himmler and was his right hand man. And when Heydrich died in 1942 Himmler was very hurt by it and wanted to carry on his legacy. This is what triggered Himmler to start the Final Solution. So he commenced Operation Rienhard, which was named in honor of Heydrich. Operation Rienhard was started in the autumn of 1941 (but later renamed in honor of Heydrich) and marked the start of the Final Solution as history knows it today (United States Holocaust Memorial Museum). • 5. Freedom Of Speech Rights In The United States America is a nation that takes pride in its ability to protect the fundamental rights of their citizens such as those mentioned in the 1st amendment. Unfortunately, that was not always the case. During the Lochner era, the right to a freedom of contract was considered a fundamental right. While rights such as freedom of speech, freedom of religion, and voting, were considered non fundamental. It wasn t until the New Deal era that the court changed the standard to be that rights such as freedom of religion, speech, and voting, were fundamental rights. It is the New Deal standard that is the foundation for our freedom of speech right today in America (GGW, 2017). In other places, the standards are not the same, such as Germany. Both countries grant the right of freedom of speech, but speech is regulated and justified differently. In this paper, the focus will be on how the ruling and justification in the German case Auschwitz lie differs and compares to American constitutional law regarding freedom of speech. In Auschwitz lie, a case was brought in front of the court regarding the freedom of speech right under Basic Law, which is the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Germany. Yeast Fermentation Lab Report Brittney Tokarick Dr. Yorty Bio111 Lab November 5, 2014 CO2 Evolved due to Temperature s Effect on Yeast Fermentation of Glucose Abstract This experiment measured the amount of CO2 evolved based on yeast fermentation of glucose. It was hypothesized that at room temperature, about 22 degrees Celsius, less CO2 would be produced than when tested at 37 degrees Celsius. In order to determine the amount of CO2 evolved, an experiment was set up involving yeast, glucose, deionized water, and heat. To begin the experiment, six fermentation flasks were acquired. Six milliliters of 10% glucose was pipetted into each flask, followed by 10 mL of deionized water and 8 mL of the prepared yeast solution. After each flask was placed at the appropriate temperatures necessary for the experiment, the production of CO2 started to be monitored. Data was recorded consecutively every two minutes over a time period of twenty minutes, and recorded in a data chart. The average CO2 production at 37 degrees Celsius and 22 degrees Celsius was determined from the t test results. • 14. Character Analysis Of Robinson Crusoe I take notice of here, those discontented people, who cannot enjoy comfortably what God has given them; because they see and covet something that He has not give them. Robinson Crusoe (Defoe 95). In the book, Robinson Crusoe the main character Robinson Crusoe was a man who made many choices, some of which were made selfishly, and without the guidance of God or other influential people of whom he should have listened to. Throughout his life Crusoe learned many things through experience. His relationship with God as well as his character improved along his journey and strengthened when he allowed them to. Crusoe s well aspired dream of becoming a sailor affected his relationship with God and ultimately began his journey of growth. At age 19, Robinson Crusoe decided he was not going to go on to work in law, as his father had planned for him, but that he was going to be a sailor. His father attempted to convince Crusoe of his disapproval and to prevent him from becoming a sailor. Crusoe however decided against what his father had said and left home even though he was told not to. In the book he says, I consulted neither my mother or father any more, nor so much as sent them word of it; but leaving them to hear of it as they might, without asking God s blessing, or my father s, without any consideration of circumstances or consequences, and in an ill hour, God knows, on the first of September 1651I went on board a ship bound for London. (Defoe 4). In his time as a sailor he was a part of 4 separate voyages, all of which resulted in narrow escapes of death for Crusoe, but despite the fact that God was obviously trying to give signs to him of why he should not have been a sailor, Crusoe blames bad luck and fate for his troubles, and continues to disobey his parents, and God. At this point of his life, Crusoe was a selfish man who thought of what was best for himself, and ignored others opinions, and did not seek God s help in his times of need. A little later in life, with his bad luck along his journeys continuing, Crusoe survives a shipwreck on his way to Guinea, in which all of his fellow sailors are killed. He survived by the grace of God and somehow swam his way to a deserted island. Although just ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 16. Marx s Critique Of Capitalism And Society Essay Alienation was a topic of central importance to the young Marx, which analysed the way in which society organises itself around the modes of production and how this materialistic structure (particularly in a capitalist society) can lead to a sense of estrangement or separation of a worker from the product of his labour. In order to demonstrate this theory of alienation, I will examine it in relation to Marx s critique of capitalist society and will then proceed to talk about the different forms and whether or not the phenomenon is still seen today in contemporary society. In order to understand the concept of alienation and its dimensions, we must first understand how it is related to Marx s critique of capitalism and society. As stated above, Marx believed that the development of history was a sequence of the modes of production. This refers to the way that society is organised to produce goods and services, vital to human existence. Marx believed as human beings, in order to survive and enhance our social being, we must produce material requirements of subsistence (Seligman, 1901, p163) and the way that we do this is through the modes of production. The modes of production consist of two major aspects: 1) the productive forces i.e. land, raw material, labour power, machinery, tools etc. used to produce material goods 2) the relations of production: whether you own and control the means of production or whether you do not. They need it to shower, brush their teeth, cook, taking care of the landscapes, and most importantly to live. Water is everywhere but as some people say it will soon become scarce due to the fact people are being very wasteful with it. Water conservation is a big topic in the United States when it comes to California, a state known for their droughts. It seems like every years there is always something on the news headlines talking about a drought in California. Conserving water would obviously become an even bigger deal if we lived in California instead of the Midwest. Obviously the topic of water conservation is still a big topic in the Midwest because as a nation, people are wasteful and taking having water for granted in our everyday lives. Although scientists and astronomers are learning how they can get water from comets and asteroids if planet Earth were to run out of water one day it is still in the experimental phase and is not a for sure thing on Earth. For the time being, instead of wasting the water, in people s everyday life s they can help reduce the risk of water going completely extinct by understanding how the water is going to waste, solutions to saving water, and being smart when dealing with landscaping. People say that the Earth is running short on water but never seem to point out that there are some backup plans that are being put into action and tested out currently by scientist. Many years after the establishment of the church, Epaphras travels to Rome to visit Paul and bring some good news of the Colossian congregation. But the main purpose of his visit is to request Paul s help against the heresies that were tearing at the core of the Colossian church. Paul s letter to the Colossians not only exhorts and cautions, but primarily focuses on the supremacy of Christ and the power of the gospel message (Elwell and Yarbrough 301). Paul begins his Colossians epistle by expressing his interest in the church. He had never had a chance to visit Colossae, for this community of faith was the result of his nearby ministry in Ephesus. Paul speaks of gratitude for the faith the Colossians have shown thus far, as we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love that you have for all the saints (English Standard Version, Col. 1.4). ... • 24. The Life of Galileo Galilei Galileo Galilei is considered one of the greatest scientists of all time. He was an Italian mathematician, astronomer, and philosopher who very strongly supported Copernicanism, which is the idea that the earth orbits the sun. It was hard to advocate Copernicanism because it was a very controversial idea during that time. Galileo was a leader in the Scientific Revolution. He made discoveries in the sciences of motion, astronomy, and strength of materials. In motion, his famous scientific discoveries were circular inertia, law of falling bodies and parabolic path of projectiles. In mathematics, he changed philosophy from a verbal explanation to a mathematical one in which experimentation was a method for discovering facts of nature. In astronomy, he revolutionized telescope and made way for the recognition of the Copernican heliocentric system. Galileo changed the world forever. Galileo s childhood was full of schooling and studying. Galileo was born in Pisa, Italy, on February 15, 1564. Galileo, the oldest child in the family, was born to Guilia Ammannati, and Vincenzo Galilei, who was a great musician. When Galileo was eight, he moved to Florence. He went to the monastery school at Vallombrosa in his teens. Galileo later studied at University of Pisa, where he was supposed to study being a doctor, but instead he was captivated with math and decided to make math and philosophy his job, against his father s will. • 25. Central Park Essay Central Park Central Park was the first landscaped public park in the United States. Advocates of creating the park primarily wealthy merchants and landowners admired the public grounds of London and Paris and urged that New York needed a comparable facility to establish its international reputation. A public park, they argued, would offer their own families an attractive setting for carriage rides and provide working class New Yorkers with a healthy alternative to the saloon. After three years of debate over the park site and cost, in 1853 the state legislature authorized the City of New York to use the power of eminent domain to acquire more than 700 acres of land in the center of Manhattan. In 1857, the Central Park Commission held the country s first landscape design contest and selected the Greensward Plan, submitted by Frederick Law Olmsted, the park s superintendent at the time, and Calvert Vaux, an English born architect and former partner of the popular landscape gardener, Andrew Jackson Downing. The designers sought to create a pastoral landscape in the English romantic tradition. Open rolling meadows contrasted with the picturesque effects of the Ramble and the more formal dress grounds of the Mall (Promenade) and Bethesda Terrace. In order to maintain a feeling of uninterrupted expanse, Olmsted and Vaux sank four Transverse Roads eight feet below the park s surface to carry cross town traffic. Responding to pressure from local critics, the designers also revised their plan s circulation system to separate carriage drives, pedestrian walks, and equestrian paths. Vaux, assisted by Jacob Wrey Mould, designed more than forty bridges to eliminate grade crossings between the different routes. The building of Central Park was one of nineteenth century New York s most massive public works projects. Some 20,000 workers Yankee engineers, Irish laborers, German gardeners, and native born stonecutters reshaped the site s topography to create the pastoral landscape. After blasting out rocky ... BSE, is a slowly progressing degenerative disease affecting the central nervous system of cattle. BSE is the same as most of the other spongiform encephalopathies, they evoke no immune response and consequently slowly accumulate for an incubation period up to 30 years. You cannot detect them, purify then, nor can you isolate them [Greger p.2]. One of the main issues that affect most farmers is how do they know if a cow has BSE. Cattle affected by BSE develop a progressive degeneration of the nervous system. Affected animals may display changes in temperament, such as nervousness or aggression, abnormal posture; incoordination and difficulty in rising, decreased milk production, or loss of body condition despite continued appetite [Kent p.10]. However it has been noted the signs in American cows is much different. They instead stagger to their death like downer cows do. quot;A downer cow quot; is referring to the industry term which describes cows who fall down and are too sick to get up [Greger p.4]. There is no treatment so all affected cattle die. The incubation period ranges from two to eight years [Hodgson p.2]. Christabel , an unfinished gothic ballad, evokes a sinister atmosphere, hinting at evil and the grotesque. In his poems Coleridge s detailed perception of nature links scene and mood, and leads to a contemplation of moral and universal concerns. In his theory of poetry Coleridge stressed the aesthetic quality as the primary consideration. The metrical theory on which Christabel is constructed helped to break the fetters of 18th century correctness and monotony and soon found disciples, among others Walter Scott and Lord Byron. Opium and the Dream of Kubla Khan Coleridge s use of opium has long been a topic of fascination, and the grouping of Coleridge, opium and Kubla Khan formed an inevitable triad long before Elisabeth Schneider combined them in the title of her book. It is tempting on a subject of such intrinsic interest to say more than is necessary for the purpose in hand. Since the medicinal use of opium was so common and wide spread, it is not surprising to learn that its use involved neither legal penalties nor public stigma. All of the Romantic poets (except Wordsworth) are known to have used it, as did many other prominent contemporaries. Supplies were readily available: in 1830, for instance, Britain imported 22,000 pounds of raw opium. The relationship between God and man was a journey from stern father to friend in the Old Testament, while in the New Testament, conversely, we see God almost as our equal. Encased in the body of a man, Jesus was available to us in a way that was not before. Still with all the power of God, suddenly we could approach Him as a friend the father and the friend and teacher molding into one. For all of the Paleolithic period and the beginning of the Mesolithic period, animals were wild and untamed. This made it hard for people to productively move a large group of animals from one place to another. It was also much harder to slaughter an undomesticated animal than a domesticated one. When you are already crunched for time trying to survive, you cannot afford the time it takes to kill a wild animal who is running around like crazy. When animals became domesticated all of these troubles went away. It was easier for people to move herds of animals from one grazing spot to another, it was easier and quicker to slaughter animals. Unlike dogs, cows, goats, and pigs were mainly used for food and their coats. However, dogs were used for hunting, and guarding property. Dogs are very useful for hunting because they can smell animals from very far away. They also can provide protection if you get ambushed by a herd of animals or another group of hunters. Being able to leave your property and possessions, knowing that they will be there is a very comforting feeling. One way someone could do this in the Mesolithic period is guard dogs. Dogs were very vicious, strong fighters. If your dog(s) were guarding your property they would guard it or die trying. Another very important advancement of humans. The ability to store water was essential to humans advancement. Without it, humans would not have been able to make it through winters and droughts. If they didn t figure out how to craft a bowl from clay they would have had no way of storing water. In severe conditions such as a drought, when there is no water to be found, or in the winter, when all the water is frozen solid, the ability to store water in your shelter was huge. In response to this, God allows Satan to take away Job s possessions, to kill his children, and to inflict bodily harm to him in an attempt to get Job to turn on God. After all these horrible things happen, Job still refuses to curse God s name. • 32. Contrary to this, Gray establishes the role of the poet as one of isolation and being an outsider whilst expressing anxiety over the declining role of the poet, as seen in The Bard . To begin, this essay shall examine the forms used by the poets. Thomson makes of the Miltonic blank verse. By doing this, the role of the poet is conveyed as multifaceted as a range of subjects are discussed. Gray uses the form of the Pindaric ode in order to establish the idea of the poet being ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The ode was considered to create distance between the poet and the audience (Zionkowski, pg334). This is conveyed through the emotional complexity of the ode. The ode works in the genre of both eulogy, as the bard is in mourning, and exulting through the victory of the bard in the end. However, the reader is unable to sympathise with the bard figure which creates a distance between both reader and poet. The emotion is more than mourning. The poet is mourning over the loss of his own community, the Welsh bards, and is the last of his kind. The reader is unable to connect emotionally with the bard as the reader has not experienced this type of loss. Thus distance is created, leading to the poet being isolated. This then aids in turning the audience into a passive object much like Edward and his army is passive in the bard s prophecy (Zionkowski, pg345). Thus, the role of the poet becomes one of distance from the readership, placing the audience as being passive. Thus through the form, the role of the poet is constructed. By placing themselves in a literary tradition, Thomson and Gray highlight a deep lineage the poet has. The role of the poet, therefore, is part of a larger history and tradition. Furthermore, Thomson is able to construct the role of the poet as being multifaceted as the freedom of the Miltonic blank verse allows him to cover various subjects. The use of Pindaric ode creates distance between the poet and reader. This is due to the deep emotional complexity of the subject matter which the reader cannot sympathise with. Thus, the audience is kept at a distance, unable to interact with the text. The poem is then only author centered (Zionkowski, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
