Security Is A Fundamental Part Of A Structured Business
Security is a basic need for people to feel safe about themselves and their belongings. Security is an
essential part of everyone s life and the more secure something it the more stress free you can be. For
data companies, security is a fundamental part of a structured business; this leads them to develop data
security, more specifically, security in data warehousing. Data security is the protection of data from
destructive forces and from the unauthorized use or undesirable actions, in systems such as databases.
Data warehouses are central repositories of integrated data from one or more disparate sources. They
store current and historical data and are used for creating analytical reports for knowledge workers
throughout the enterprise. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Data mart is a simple form of a data warehouse that is focused on a single subject, such as sales,
finance or marketing. Data marts are often built and controlled by a single department within an
organization. Given their single subject focus, data marts usually draw data from only a few sources.
The sources could be internal operational systems, a central data warehouse, or external data. De
normalization is the norm for data modeling techniques in this system. Online Analytical Processing
or OLAP is characterized by a relatively low volume of transactions. Queries are often very complex
and involve aggregations. OLAP system response time is an effectiveness measure that is used by
Data Mining techniques. OLAP databases store aggregated, historical data in multi dimensional
schemas. OLAP systems typically have data latency of a few hours, as opposed to data marts, where
latency is expected to be closer to one day. Online Transaction Processing or OLTP is characterized by
a large number of short on line transactions. OLTP systems emphasize very fast query processing and
maintaining data integrity in multi access environments. OLTP systems the number of transactions per
second measures effectiveness; this contains detailed and current data. The schema used to store
transactional databases is the entity model. Normalization is the norm for data modeling techniques in

The Importance Of Crime In Miami
Miami, vice city, holds a million of people, events, and cultures. Sad is the part, in the southeastern of
Florida, quite a few number of people incorporated in Mafia are manipulating the lives of the rest.
Though in such a Metropolitan city, crimes are expected to find by, yet the city council must ensure
the safety of public, its properties, and a well established justice system. In the city of Miami may also
be used sarcastically for that its residents are too scared with crimes to enjoy a peaceful sleep. Near
Miami Beach, a gang of 13 criminals haunted the streets of Miami. An old woman named as Lindsey,
lived nearby the residential area of Ocean Drive Miami Beach residing in a very luxurious condo with
an amazing view that faces the waters of Miami shores. She was too old and her 21 years old
granddaughter used to assist her for the execution of outdoor tasks, as she was an elder who could
barely walk without assistance. Lindsey was capable enough to provide for the household. Her late
husband who was deceased after a long suffering illness has left her a lot of property and bank
balance. She could not use much of it and her granddaughter used to live a very limited, dull, and fun
less life. Katy the granddaughter has never asked for demands other ... Show more content on

Internationalization of General Motors
Internationalization of General Motors This paper examines the expansion of General Motors overseas
in its various phases, as well as triggers for internationalization and the problems faced during the

towards the more reliable and economical Japanese alternatives. GM responded not via their
traditional method of acquisition, but rather by creating alliances with Isuzu, Suzuki and Toyota

adopted another strategy: globalization, aimed at integrating operations at an higher level. GM s
ultimate goal from the 1990s was to produce a World Car, as announced through their Master Plan in
1996 (Bordenave and Lung, 2002). The idea was to cut costs and achieve greater economies of scale
by halving the number of car platforms from 14 to 7, and sharing these platforms as well as parts
among the various brands within the General Motors family. In reality, however, this programme
failed.due to regional differences, such as Europe and Asia preferring smaller, diesel powered cars as
opposed to the large, petrol engined models of North America. GM was thus forced to continue
supplying different models to their various markets around the world. | | |1992 : Senior management

Daniel Shays As An American Officer
Daniel Shays
Daniel Shays served role as an American officer in the American Revolution from 1775 to 1780 and
also became known as one of the leaders of Shays Rebellion, which lasted from 1786 to 1787. In 1780
he resigned from the army, and settled in Pelham, Massachusetts, where he held numerous town
offices. Soon after, wealth reigned in America at the signing of the peace treaty in 1783, but was
quickly transformed into a severe economic depression. He began his rebellion when property holders,
including himself, began losing their belongings through confiscations for unpaid debts and taxes and
became subject to debtor s imprisonment. Protests then followed, with threats of violence against the
courts conducting the enforcements and arraignments. This is when Shays arose as one of the several
leaders of what came to be known as Shays Rebellion. After the Rebellion was over, he and
approximately a dozen others were sentenced to death by the Supreme Court of Massachusetts.
However, towards the end of the rebellion, Shays had escaped to Vermont, soon afterwards he moved
to Schoharie county, New York, and then a few years later moved further west to Sparta, New York.
Shays, in his old age, was granted a retirement pension by the federal government for the five years he
served in the Continental Army without pay. He lived the last couple years of his life in poverty, as a
heavy drinker and supported himself on his pension by working a small piece of land. He later

Wires by Philip Larkin
WIRES
Wires by Philip Larkin is an analogy of a society trapped by rules and limits and a demonstration that
fear prevents humankind from following their desires. Larkin writes this poem in 1950 with the idea
of showing his point of view of the world. In the poem the cattles are trapped by the wires imposed,
preventing them from ever reaching their search for purer water. He shows that the world offers no
hope nor mercy whatsoever in their trial for escape. What the poet is actually trying to express is the
theme of youth against old and the boundaries that the world presents. Both mentioned have no escape
but the difference is that the young generation does not realize it and life disappoints them in their
attempt of searching for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

mistakes as the older generations, and how humans make the same mistake over and over again. The

The Quest for Educational Equality
So , writes the immortal Dr. Seuss, be your name Buxaum or Bixby or Bray or Mordecai Ali Van O
Shea, you re off to Great Places! Today is your day! Your mountain is waiting. So...get on your way!
Unfortunately, unlike the graduating class this speech was addressed toward, many students in today s
urban education system are not of to Great Places , and will never get the chance to move mountains.
These students attempt to learn without textbooks, proper laboratories, or even pencil and paper. The
schools are falling apart around these children; in some cases sewage continuously floods the halls,

But what fundamental necessities do rich schools posses that money could provide for poor schools?
Besides the obvious needs of the extremely needy schools: repairs to the building (proper plumbing,
roofing and walls to name a few) and basic supplies (such as books, paper, computers and laboratory
tools), the school also needs money in less obvious areas. With more money at its disposal a school
can purchase more space and teachers. It has been proven that students learn better (and teachers can
teach better) when the class size is limited to under twenty four. This is not possible without financing
for a larger school and more teachers to accommodate all the students. A school with larger funds also
has the capability to choose better administrators and faculty from a greater selection (they are not
limited to those applicants in lower pay brackets). In the case of a Canton Middle School in Baltimore
an excellent principle made all the difference. He even made the news, for TIME magazine wrote that
One man gets the credit for Canton s current condition: school principle Craig Spilman ... Last month,
for example, Canton reported that its students had tripled the rate at which they passed a battery of
state school performance tests (TIME 1997).
Those areas of need were all directly related to the schooling system s budget. There are more, indirect
ways that lack of money affects students learning ability. Many things are different in poor
communities that in the

Women s Rights During The 1848 Seneca Falls Declaration...
The women of America have struggled to gain the same equality as men. The 1848 Seneca Falls
Declaration and the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire were two documents showing the mistreatment
and the unfairness of women in the work place and America as a whole. Some people did not believe
women had the same rights as men, but women thought otherwise and wanted their voice heard. The
aspects of equality in the American Dream were unavailable to women because women were not given
the same rights as men. Similar to the Declaration of Independence which showed the unfair laws
Britain placed upon the colonies, the Seneca Falls Declaration explained the rights not given to
women by men. One of the grievances in the Seneca Falls Declaration stated, He has never permitted
her to exercise her inalienable right to the elective franchise. He has compelled her to submit to laws,
in the formation of which she had no voice (Stanton, Anthony 57). In other words, women had to obey
the laws just like men did, but women did not have the right to vote. Women had no voice in which
laws were passed but they understood that by being citizens of America they should have a say in the
government. The Seneca Falls Declaration clearly stated, Having deprived her of this first right of a
citizen, the elective franchise, there by leaving her without representation in the halls of legislation, he
has oppressed her on all sides (57). Women saw the inequality being given to them and they wrote the

Trauma Reflection
Rebecca Frey, in her article Trauma, defines the term trauma in two different ways. The first idea of
trauma is used in the physical sense, to mean a tangible injury on one s body, while the second idea of
trauma is used to mean damage to the mind and emotions resulting from a single event or series of
experiences. She mentions that trauma is usually caused by an overwhelming experience that affects
one s capability to cope with the memories and the feelings that they connect to the specific traumatic
event. Typical symptoms for experiences of trauma include: changes in typical behavioral acts,
complete withdrawal from social situations, pacing and agitated muscle movements, difficulties
functioning cognitively, nightmares and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While trauma itself does not necessarily lead to these sufferings, those who have experienced a
traumatic event could possibly experience a trauma disorder, which will include many of the above
mentioned symptoms. Frey identifies disorders like Post traumatic Stress Disorder, Acute Stress
Disorder, and Complex Traumatic Stress Disorder, as possible causes for many of those sufferings.
Shockingly, Frey mentions how somewhere between 50% and 90% of all North Americans will
experience a traumatic experience in their life, but only 7% 8% of people in North America will ever
develop Post traumatic Stress Disorder. It is important to note, however, that Post traumatic Stress
Disorder, or PTSD, is only one type of trauma/stress disorder, and there are many more disorders that
those survivors could potentially develop. Bipolar affective disorder:
John Harris and Vicky White describe Bipolar affective disorder, more commonly referred to as
bipolar disorder, as a mood disorder that is distinguished through a cycling between manic, or high ,
and depressed, or low , moods. Dr. Raymond Leung describes mania as a persistent elation in mood
and increase[s] in energy levels for at least one week and depression as a low mood and [a] loss of
interest or pleasure in most activities for at least 2 weeks . There is oftentimes a period of relative

The Dehumanization Of The Banking System
Factory workers are being produced today, although the age of factories has long passed. Students are
dehumanized from their first graded assignment, their first report card, the first time they step into
school until they graduate. At that point, they are completely stripped of critical thinking and creativity
and see learning only as memorization for a test. There seems to be no meaning beyond the face value
of what teachers say and possibly less. All that is needed is to memorize word for word what the
teacher says. They don t perceive what four times four really means, or realizing the true significance
of capital in the affirmation the capital of Pará is Belem, that is, what Belem means for Pará and what
Pará means for Brazil (240). Freire introduces the banking system as the cause of dehumanization, but
it is not the system in general that causes it. It is the use of grading. They are used to measure the
value and intelligence of students, so this is all students focus on. They only do what they need to
receive the highest marks. However, this means the students don t have time to truly understand their
material or realize that they don t have to spend that much time with the material. After all, the
purpose of the banking system is to just fill students with information.
Education is not to teach children how to learn; no, it is to make factory workers. Students are
expected to memorize facts the teacher narrates and recite them back later for an exam, quiz, or

Marfan Syndrome Case Study
After clinical diagnosis of Marfan syndrome is established, transthoraic echocardiography is used to
routinely monitor and assess the proximal aorta in order to decrease the risk of aortic dissection. Serial
measurements of the proximal aorta, the greatest dimension at the aortic root, sinotubular junction,
and ascending aorta are taken at yearly assessments by echocardiography to establish the appropriate
time for surgical intervention (Judge Dietz, 2005). Surgical repair of the aortic root is strongly
recommended when the maximum aortic diameter exceeds 5 to 6 cm (Keane Pyeritz, 2008). To
determine the normal diameter of the aorta, body size and age is frequently used in scaling normal
aortic root dimensions and measurements are indexed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Research has shown that aortic dilatation typically occurs at about 0.2 cm/ year in patients with
Marfan syndrome (Kornbluth, Schnittger, Eyngorina, Gasner, Liang, 1999). The medical treatment
currently regarded as the standard of care for patients with Marfan syndrome is β adrenergic receptor
blockade in order to delay or prevent aortic aneurysm and dissection (Keane Pyeritz, 2008). This
method of treatment was first suggested in 1971, with the presumption that β blocker therapy can
decrease hemodynamic stressors, both negative inotropic and chronotropic, to the proximal aorta and
therefore slow the progression of aortic dilation (Judge Dietz, 2005). There was a randomized trial
published in the 1990s assessing the effect of β blockers in Marfan syndrome and the results showed
that the treatment group had a significantly lower rate of aortic growth than the control group (Keane
Pyeritz, 2008). Until more effective treatment directed at the fibrillin gene defect associated with
Marfan syndrome can be developed, β blocker therapy currently remains the standard of

Many if not most, considered World War II, the most atrocious act of all time. It was viewed as a war
of beliefs and ideals. One side, vouching for domination, while another for freedom; One side
slaughtering and discriminating due to nationality, race, and religion; the other fighting against for
freedom, sovereignty, and peace. In reality, the war was not as black and white as that. Though the
Axis Powers did commit heinous Crimes against humanity (I.E Holocaust, Murder of millions,

stripped of their possessions, jobs, and families. It had such an impact that people like Naomi, in real
life still are haunted by it. The Psychological impacts put upon the Japanese Canadians, weren t just
the horrible experiences, or the separation of family and friends. Rather the impact due to the
discrimination of the Japanese Canadians by the government and the rest of society had a deeper
impact. The hatred of the Japanese Canadians by the Government and the people had an Enormous
impact on the people s well being, and the way they viewed themselves. The government after the
relocation sold most of the properties and confiscated possessions of the Japanese Canadians. They
also took out all of the Japanese Newspapers, restricted Telephone and mail Services, thus Preventing
Communication. Furthermore, the media was full of Anti Japanese Canadian Rhetoric. Finally the

Now Is The Winter Of Our Discourse By Al Pacino s...
Now is the winter of our discourse. Made glorious summer by Al Pacino s documentary, Looking for
Richard. The documentary presents a facet of cultural and academic critiques of performing
Shakespeare while striving to turn those preconceived presumptions on their head. Pacino s
documentary shakes up the script and provides an interesting dialogue on the importance, influence,
and approachability of Shakespeare on a grand scale. A particular scene that captures Pacino s
message occurs around halfway through the film. Prior to this scene, Frederic Kimball is providing his
subjective insight on the motives of Richard III venturing to woo Lady Anne, while also implying that
Lady Anne specifically places herself into the narrative in order to be wooed. Al Pacino rolls his eyes
at Kimball s theory and opens a question to the rest of the crew, Does anyone have a better thing than
Frederic on this? (Pacino, Looking for Richard). This question leads into the discussion of who is the
authority on Shakespeare. A debate in which critics, scholars, performers, and the general public have
been attempting to answer for ages. From that conversation, the scene then opens with a medium shot,
centering the frame towards a half body shot of Kimball. Kimball s arms are extended, inviting the
audience in to listen to his dialogue. The edge of the frame provides a close up of Al Pacino and
Winona Ryder. Pacino s hand is directing the audience s attention towards Kimball. The framing of

How can someone from two hundred and fifty years ago, a Scottish moral philosopher can still be

Activity Correlation In addition to monitoring, activity correlation is an advanced feature among
DAMs that detects a possible threat by tracking transactions from particular users. If a user has an
unusually high amount of transactions or if a direct user has begun tampering with a database outside
of their domain, then an alert is automatically sent. All activity within a database is typically logged to
a repository, a common feature in a DAM solution. However, activity correlation goes beyond this
standard feature is to automatically archive activities, policies, and configurations and create a model

standard activity looks like so anomalies can be detected and met head on.
Policy Creation A common yet potent feature of an effective DAM tool is the ability to respond in real
time when an attack or threat is presented. While real time monitoring is a great solution, an even
better solution would be to prevent those attack from happening in the first place. This is where policy
creation comes in. Proactive DAM policies come in two forms. First, rule based policies govern the

Planned Market And Mixed Market Economies
Planned, Market, and Mixed Economies
Each country has its own economic system, a system for allocating its resources among its citizens,
both individual and organizations (Ebert Griffin, 2015, p. 11). There are three economic systems:
planned economies, market economies, and mixed market economies. Economic systems are defined
by how the five factors of productions are handled: labor, capital, entrepreneurs, physical resources,
and information resources. Factors of production are the resources that a country s businesses use to
produce goods and services (Ebert Griffin, 2015, p. 11).
Planned Economies
A planned economy can be defined as an economy that relies on a centralized government to control
all or most factors of production and to make all or most production and allocation decisions (Ebert
Griffin, 2015, p. 12). There are two forms of planned economies: communism, in which the
government owns and operates all factors of productions, and socialism, where the government owns
and operates only selected factors of productions. China and North Korea are both examples of current
communist countries; Denmark and Sweden are both examples of current socialist countries.
Planned Economies and Labor Factor of Production
People who work for businesses provide labor. Labor, sometimes called human resources, includes the
physical and intellectual contributions people make while engaging in economic productions (Ebert
Griffin, 2015, p. 11). In a communist planned

Conflict And The Work Climate And Negatively Affects...

these relationships can be compromised by conflict. Conflict stems from discordance that arises in
values, beliefs, thoughts, feelings, or behaviors of two or more individuals (Pangman Pangman, 2010).
For the purpose of this article, conflict is defined as a phenomenon occurring between interdependent
individuals as they experience negative emotional reactions to perceived disagreements and

When people encounter conflict situations, they need to be able to accept conflict as a normative
challenge and use effective conflict management approaches and other alternatives to transform
conflict into an opportunity for growth (Pangman Pangman, 2010). It is important for negotiators to
have a clear understanding and working knowledge of the approaches to conflict and to be aware of
various alternatives to managing conflict. Therefore, the process of negotiation is an effective
interactive approach that emphasizes the need to maintain ongoing relationships and to share power
and control. One of the international bestselling book on negotiation is Getting to YES, by Roger
Fisher and William Ury that provide ideas about negotiation as a method of conflict management
using principled negotiation. Negotiation can be defined as basic means of being able to receive what
you want from others and where you discuss back and forth until an agreement is reached (Fisher Ury,
2011). Negotiation is an ongoing effective strategy that emphasizes the need to maintain good working
relationships in day to day activity within health care organizations (Pangman Pangman, 2010).
Moreover, there are many areas in life where people spend time negotiating with one another whether
it is over a contract, a family quarrel, a peace settlement, or a curfew. Negotiators often find

It was found in one instance that certain markets that Barclaycard are in have potential to grow
substantially but are currently performing poorly due to the need for extensive investment. This for the
time being is not the ideal strategy as the organization needs to embrace a complete paradigm shift in
strategy direction. 3. Justifications Justifying the recommendations Justification of the
recommendations is a vital part in this analysis of Barclaycard especially considering the triple loop
(emergent) approach that formed the basis for the development and execution of the strategies
developed. As it was found in one instance, the current developments in 2003 have created several
new technology based solutions for banking services. Considering the emergent approach one again
means that this is the nature of strategy that Barclaycard must consider carefully as it presents a
completely new direction for the organization. 4. Action Plan Producing a timetable of events in order

The Pershkins Model
4. RESEARCH DESIGN
This project adopts a qualitative interpretive methodology. In particular, the project follows the
Pershkins model for qualitative research (Yin. K, p136, 2015). Using the Pershkins model, the projects
analyses qualitative data from South Parks 19th season. This is done using various different research
techniques such as visual methods, close readings, textual analysis and composition analysis. The
project follows an ethnographic approach to research, following Spradley s approach to ethnography.
The project shows a body of knowledge, including, theory, research and recounts (Liamputtong. P,
148, 2009). The main sample set is South Parks 19th season. The data is analysed by using both visual
methods and textual methods. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Analysis of South Parks 19th season will be conducted to see how the show adapted to political
correctness. This is done by using a combination of content analysis, discourse analysis and close
readings. Gibbs (2012) theory of thematic categorizing analysis of narrative is used to analyse the
episodes of South Park. Gibbs theory on metaphors in particular will be used (Gibbs, p.4, 2012).
Semiotics are closely analysed, as the symbolic signs are the crux of the data. Chandler s (2017) guide
to semiotic analyse is implemented throughout the analysis.
5. FINDINGS
South Park s 19th season parodies all facets of PC culture. South Park critiques the function of PC
culture, how it s used by our society and how it affects different demographics. In episode 1 Stunning
and Brave South Park critique political correctness with the constant gag of Caitlyn Jenner running
over someone in her car, with the constant gag of Caitlyn Jenner being a brave and beautiful person.
During her transition to female it was seen a politically incorrect to suggest that what she was doing
was not brave and extraordinary. Never mind the fact that she was transitioning during a time when
she was accused of killing

The Rights And Nation By Gerald Friesen Essay
In his book, Citizens and Nation, Gerald Friesen first mentions the concept of imagined communities
as he states, Space had been restructured because the communication media had eliminated so many
of the inherited constraints of physical existence (Friesen 177). Thus, for Friesen, an imagined
community is constructed as communication technologies connect individuals across geographical
boundaries, therefore releasing the limitations of space. While Friesen s definition implies that a
technological intermediary is needed for the formation of imagined relations, his work, Citizens and
Nation works to prove that communities that are based on something other than face to face
communication, can, without technology, also be considered imagined . Moreover, using, Oral
Traditional and Screen Capitalist societies, two distinct time space configurations, this essay will
demonstrate how throughout history, the concept of Imagined Communities differed in its effect and
prevalence in Canadian life.
To begin, an analysis of Oral Traditional societies will work demonstrate that while per literate
communities were predominantly traditional, their connection to the land cultivated an imagined
community . Prior to the invention of print, Canadian aboriginals lived in an oral society where the
spoken word was the dominant form of communication. Because the transfer of information was
limited to face to face communication, oral societies, unlike imagined communities, could only

Oppression In Fahrenheit 451

Analysis Paper on Doubt
A Bond as Powerful as Certainty A person s doubts can cloud their judgment on certain tasks at hand.
On the other hand, a person s certainty can blind someone from the truth. The argument ofDoubt
versus Certainty is relevant today in the sense that it is the main argument for and against religion. The
theory of doubt can also be used in literary works for a number of reasons. In John Patrick Shanley s
movie/play Doubt, the theme of certainty versus doubt is shown throughout the story to signify the
importance of characterization and to symbolize the importance that a person must be cautious of the
people around them.
In the movie Doubt, the idea of certainty versus doubt is a central theme to the story. Doubt and
certainty are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Sister Aloysius does not have any evidence yet she is certain that Father Flynn is guilty. Shanley is
illustrating that one does not need evidence to be confident about a given claim. In this way, Shanley
illustrates through the concept of doubt that a person can be right about a given suspicion without any
proof.
The significance behind certainty versus doubt in Doubt has to do with the characterization of both
Sister James and Sister Aloysius. The characters stance on certainty versus doubt divides the
characters personalities. Sister Aloysius has a confident and strong willed character throughout the
story while Sister James is shown to have a very insecure personality and is usually shown to be
unclear about situations. This characterization is shown when Sister James and Sister Aloysius talk
about William London s bloody nose. Sister Aloysius is convinced that William London s bloody nose
was self induced while Sister James believes that William is innocent. Sister Aloysius suspicion about
William is proven to be right when William is heading home, He has a bloody handkerchief to his
nose. He s in a good mood. He takes the handkerchief away. The nose has stopped bleeding. He
smiles. He lights a cigarette. (Shanley Script, pg 18) This foreshadows the reactions taken by both
Sister James and Sister Aloysius when it comes to determining Father Flynn s credibility. Shanley
does this to give the reader an idea of how Sisters James

John Stuart Mill s Qualitative Hedonism Essay
In this hypothetical, two options are given. A person may choose from being reincarnated as Haydn, a
famous musical composer, for 77 years. Or one may live as an Oyster, and decide for themselves
however long they want to live. An oyster would experience unlimited years of a feeling that is near
that of floating drunk in a bathtub. As Haydn, a person would experience the highs and the lows of
life. Haydn composed many symphonies, and was a celebrity in his day as a musical composer. With
being famous and influential, comes low times and struggles as well. The decision is between a
painless life of small satisfaction, or a mix between extreme satisfaction and extreme lows. Two well
known philosophers have very different thought processes, when it comes to this thought experiment.
Jeremy Bentham and John Stuart Mill are their names. I side with John Stuart Mill s qualitative
hedonism. I believe that his theory is more plausible. I believe this because in my life I have
encountered the joy of higher pleasure and am certain it is much better than that of a lower pleasure.
Jeremy Bentham s quantitative hedonism is a viewpoint that quantity, intensity, and duration of
pleasures determines the value of that pleasure. Bentham argues that happiness is the ultimate good.
He argues that the definition of happiness is pleasure accompanied by an avoidance of pain. Jeremy
Bentham believed that creating the greatest combined happiness was the key to correct moral
behavior.

Country Club Golf Degree
During the high school summers, I worked on a country club golf course. My job mainly consisted of
greeting the members as they came to golf, clean their clubs, and wash the carts. I was basically the
face of the country club golf operations. Many members are regular golfers whom come by the club
multiple times a week. Through the years, I met and formed really close friendships with a select few
members. These members collectively decided to take me under their wing. This was around the time
I was applying for colleges. Through our many conversations, and learning about their lives (they are
both in the business field), I changed my intended major from chemistry to finance, and switched my
intended school from the out of state University of Michigan to the in state Indiana University. These

shouldn t have to pull a shift, but BG General Clayton wouldn t have any of it. They were in the field
and he would pull his fair share. The night passed uneventful and the weather had cleared, the three
men left the cave before sunrise and headed for the high ground to get a bearing on their location.

Gentlemen, that s where we re going. BG Clayton told them, signaling to the oncoming dust clouds.
Let s saddle up and get moving. There was no questioning the Generals orders, they all knew that was
the way they had to go. There was enough coverage down there to keep them concealed, at least thy

attempted to determine the identity of the dust clouds, to no avail. They continued down the hill, it
took them sixty minutes to get down, they could no longer see the cloud of dust. They moved slowly
keeping deep in the woods towards the original direction they had seen it. BG Clayton felt that if he

Obergefell Vs. Hodges
The case Obergefell vs. Hodges reached the United States Supreme Court in 2015 (Oyez). This case
dealt with the rights of same sex marriages and became important case in our nation s young history
and in our society in general. The problem was groups of same sex couples were being told that their
marriage licenses were not being upheld to the same legal standards as those of heterogeneous
couples. Therefore same sex couples in Ohio, Tennessee , Kentucky, and Michigan went and sued
these agencies in challenge of their constitutional rights (Oyez). They took their issue to court because
they believed that the states were denying them their 14th amendment rights without due process.

While it is not a personal choice for me, I see it best to support it for those who make that choice. In
the Constitution marriage is not defined as the unity between a man and women, but the unity of two
persons. As long as those two persons are both legal citizens of the United States then they should
have full protection under the Constitution. This would include their fundamental right to marriage.
Same sex should be seen equal to opposite sex marriage because the standards are no different. Just
like in the case of Loving v Virginia, once you take away the factor of race or sexuality, you are left
with the same principal foundations as you are of a hetero sexual couple. Therefore it would be an act
of discrimination to deny legal marriage to same sex partners. Some will argue that the Bible defines
marriage as between a man and women, and while that is true, it is not recognized by the court.
Because it is stated in a religious doctrine and the United States has freedom of religion, this point can
not be made legal valid in any situation and therefore is irrelevant. Another argument also commonly
made in opposition to same sex marriage is that its legality is within the power of the states and not
the national government. While the power to issue marriage licenses is given to the state, that s not all
that the case argues. It argues that

Why We Are Better Than Colleges
Senior year is the time for making choices. Some of these choices are going to be small and others
affect the rest of our lives. The biggest and most important choice is which college to attend. Do you
want to stay close to home or go far away? The biggest question is what size of college is right for
you. My two top choices are University of Bluffton and University of Findlay. I think they are both
great colleges but one is definitely a better fit for me. The University of Findlay is a better fit for me
over University of Bluffton because it is close to home, but is still large enough to give me the large
campus feel I am looking for in a college. The hardest part of going to college is the expenses today.
Most students have to take out loans which leaves them in debt all of their lives. University of
Bluffton s tuition is $44,008 ( CollegeSimply. ) which is slightly more than University of Findlay
which costs $42,335 ( Cost of Attending the University of Findlay . ). The difference is $1,673, which

Early Childhood Course At Savannah Technical College Essay
Introduction
Throughout the ECCE 1101 Introduction to Early Childhood course at Savannah Technical College
there were several theorists introduced in the course that had a major impact on molding the
foundation for an understanding of early childhood as a whole. Although the scope covered a broad
spectrum of early childhood, majority of the main focus was on early education. The work of Lev
Vygotsky greatly influenced the field of early education. This paper will include a brief summary of
Vygotsky s life, a description of his major ideas, and how those ideas impact early education today.
Vygotsky s Life
According to New World Encyclopedia (2014), Lev Vygotsky was born was born in Orsha, Belarus
(then Russian empire), into a well to do family of Jewish ancestry, on November 17 (November 5 in
the Old Style), 1896. Soon after Lev s birth, his father was appointed department chief of the United
Bank of Gomel and the family moved to Gomel, where Vygotsky spent his childhood. Vygotsky s
mother had trained to be a teacher, but saw her priority in being at home to provide a stimulating and
enriching environment for her eight children. Vygotsky completed his primary education at home with
his mother and a private tutor, and then entered public school for his secondary education. Vygotsky
graduated from secondary school with a gold medal at the age of seventeen. He entered the University

The Plastic Pink Flamingo Analysis
It s crazy to think how one of the greatest super powers in the world is home to probably the most
superficial, show off, easily influenced group of people in the world. From the very beginning
America has been a melting pot of adaptations with nothing in our culture, even our blood line, being
true American. We have this desire to show off to everyone around us about or trips and wealth
whether it be with t shirts and pictures or pink flamingos. In an essay entitled The Plastic Pink
Flamingo... Jennifer Price uses these 1950 s lawn ornaments as a way to demonstrate her views on
American culture. American s have turned something which we almost hunted...to extinction for the
sole purpose of plumes and meat into a symbol of our wealth and pizzazz. Price s underlying message

American slave trade, which was a good idea to a lot of people at one point in time, was a horrific
offense (which it was) to those same groups of people 100 years later. America is so quick to turn their
beliefs and stands into whatever is the right side of history at the time even if it contradicts something
they previously believed. As long as whatever they are believing gives them the opportunity to gloat
and show off to everyone else.
When the flamingo frenzy splashed into the 1950 s it flew into a generation who had just gained a

Endometriosis: A Disease That Could Stop A Dream For A Family
Natalia Migliaccio
Many people have experienced a disease or disorder sometime in their lifetime. Chronic diseases and
disorders can range from a variety of factors. A specific chronic disease that millions of women
encounter worldwide is endometriosis. The exact cause of endometriosis is unclear but often
encountered in women through genetics and environmental factors. Furthermore, the significance of
endometriosis is commonly associated with and thought to be the cause of pelvic pain and infertility
(Giudice and Kao 1789). Endometriosis is a disorder where the endometrial tissue, which is the

nonsurgical. Due to these samples and cases the disease is being more readily recognized. The
estimation for prevalence and incidence within a year varied tremendously. This rate is anywhere from
1 to 50% in reproductive aged women (Child and Lin Tan 1736). According to Missmer et al, a study
was created over a 10 year time period (1989 99) to explore the relationship of endometriosis relative
within certain demographics and lifestyle factors. Trends for specific age data provided that the
incident rates were lowest in women aged 45 52 and a greatest in women aged 25 29 (791). Lastly,
race and ethnicity trends in confirmed endometriosis showed incidence rate for Caucasian women
were 20 40% higher than other races and ethnicities. African American women were at lowest risk for
developing endometriosis, while Asian women were at highest risk (Missmer et al. 791). Any disease
or disorder affects a part or several parts of the human body. Endometriosis primarily affects pelvic
organs in the reproductive system. The endometrial tissue most commonly attaches to the membrane
lining the pelvis, ovaries, ovarian ligaments, fallopian tubes and the thin space between the vagina and
the rectum known as the rectovaginal septum. The tissue can also move and surround areas within the
intestinal wall and abdominal wall including the diaphragm, but is very rare and not likely to happen

Symptoms And Treatment Of An Immune Mediated Disease
An immune mediated disease is a disease where the immune system damages its own body systems
because of an inability to recognize normal immune responses. Equine recurrent uveitis, also known
as moon blindness, is an immune mediated disease that causes ocular inflammation in horses. The
immune response of the horse s body overreacts to the inner tissue of the eye. In chronic conditions,
cataracts, glaucoma, retinal degeneration and lens luxation can occur resulting in blindness. Potential
causes may include bacterial infections (leptospirosis, E coli), viral infections (equine influenza virus),
parasitic infections (neck threadworms), tooth root abscess, hoof abscess and blunt trauma. Equine
recurrent uveitis is encountered in horses only. Clinical signs of equine recurrent uveitis may be
noticed if the horse appears as if it is holding the affected eye shut if it is painful or sensitive to light.
A blue or hazy appearance may be seen in the cornea and the sclera can appear bloodshot. Excessive
tear production should be considered a possible sign of equine recurrent uveitis. An ophthalmologic
exam will rule out other causes of uveitis. Diagnostic tests performed include tonometry, which
measures the intraocular pressure and will rule out glaucoma. A flourescein stain is performed to
detect corneal injury and will rule out ulcerative keratitis. Treatment for equine recurrent uveitis
focuses on pain management, reduction in inflammation and prevention of vision loss.

MacArthur includes multiple instances with alliteration for the sake of grabbing the audience s

There have been recently scandals in which the famous men of Hollywood are being charged with
sexual assault or harassment and acting inappropriately around women. Women are suffering from
these problems especially in the workplace as of late and in a society in which values women more
there are still some that don t yet because they don t treat women with respect that they deserve. It
seems that some of these men are living in the past and want women for the sexual pleasure that they
are supposed to provide to men. Christina Pazzanese and Colleen Walsh in their article The Woman s

more people become aware of these problems. Before the scandals in Hollywood not many people
took the problems of sexual assault and harassment to be much of a problem and therefore there would
be no change. This is why the women in the Me Too movement want more women to speak up on
these problems that they have been suffering from so that more people become aware of it. The article
provides a quote which is as follows, But, unless feminists (and the media, and the national audience)

marginalized, such as women of color and those of lower socioeconomic status, there will be
important limits on what can be accomplished. Society cannot doubt what women say because society
downplays some of these accounts of sexual assault because they don t believe the woman is a victim.

are sometimes stopped from saying anything by the men because there will be consequences. As soon

Urbanization Is A Necessary Process For A Country
Introduction
Urbanization is a necessary process for countries to develop, this process is a process which require
time and great amounts of money, which can lead to a number of different problems during and after
completion of this stage. A lot of factors play roles that lead to inequalities amongst the citizens. This

Urbanization
Urbanization is the increase in urban population, this occurs when the rural population shifts from
rural areas to urban regions for better job opportunities and better facilities (wiki)2. Urbanization can
be seen as a crucial and necessary process for a country to develop. It can also be used to measure a
country s wealth as it provides opportunities for sustainability and the usage of resources more

environmental changes of a country (wiki)2. The process of urbanization requires time, land and
money, when most of a country s population reside in urban areas the level of urbanization becomes

Larkin writes this poem in 1950 with the idea of showing his point of view of the world. In the poem the cattles are trapped by the wires imposed, preventing them from ever reaching their search for purer water. He shows that the world offers no hope nor mercy whatsoever in their trial for escape. What the poet is actually trying to express is the theme of youth against old and the boundaries that the world presents. Besides the obvious needs of the extremely needy schools: repairs to the building (proper plumbing, roofing and walls to name a few) and basic supplies (such as books, paper, computers and laboratory tools), the school also needs money in less obvious areas. With more money at its disposal a school can purchase more space and teachers. It has been proven that students learn better (and teachers can teach better) when the class size is limited to under twenty four. This is not possible without financing for a larger school and more teachers to accommodate all the students. A school with larger funds also has the capability to choose better administrators and faculty from a greater selection (they are not limited to those applicants in lower pay brackets). • 8. Women s Rights During The 1848 Seneca Falls Declaration... The women of America have struggled to gain the same equality as men. The 1848 Seneca Falls Declaration and the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire were two documents showing the mistreatment and the unfairness of women in the work place and America as a whole. Some people did not believe women had the same rights as men, but women thought otherwise and wanted their voice heard. The aspects of equality in the American Dream were unavailable to women because women were not given the same rights as men. Similar to the Declaration of Independence which showed the unfair laws Britain placed upon the colonies, the Seneca Falls Declaration explained the rights not given to women by men. One of the grievances in the Seneca Falls Declaration stated, He has never permitted her to exercise her inalienable right to the elective franchise. He has compelled her to submit to laws, in the formation of which she had no voice (Stanton, Anthony 57). In other words, women had to obey the laws just like men did, but women did not have the right to vote. Women had no voice in which laws were passed but they understood that by being citizens of America they should have a say in the government. The Seneca Falls Declaration clearly stated, Having deprived her of this first right of a citizen, the elective franchise, there by leaving her without representation in the halls of legislation, he has oppressed her on all sides (57). The first idea of trauma is used in the physical sense, to mean a tangible injury on one s body, while the second idea of trauma is used to mean damage to the mind and emotions resulting from a single event or series of experiences. She mentions that trauma is usually caused by an overwhelming experience that affects one s capability to cope with the memories and the feelings that they connect to the specific traumatic event. Typical symptoms for experiences of trauma include: changes in typical behavioral acts, complete withdrawal from social situations, pacing and agitated muscle movements, difficulties functioning cognitively, nightmares and ... While trauma itself does not necessarily lead to these sufferings, those who have experienced a traumatic event could possibly experience a trauma disorder, which will include many of the above mentioned symptoms. Frey identifies disorders like Post traumatic Stress Disorder, Acute Stress Disorder, and Complex Traumatic Stress Disorder, as possible causes for many of those sufferings. Shockingly, Frey mentions how somewhere between 50% and 90% of all North Americans will experience a traumatic experience in their life, but only 7% 8% of people in North America will ever develop Post traumatic Stress Disorder. It is important to note, however, that Post traumatic Stress Disorder, or PTSD, is only one type of trauma/stress disorder, and there are many more disorders that those survivors could potentially develop. • 10. The Dehumanization Of The Banking System Factory workers are being produced today, although the age of factories has long passed. Students are dehumanized from their first graded assignment, their first report card, the first time they step into school until they graduate. At that point, they are completely stripped of critical thinking and creativity and see learning only as memorization for a test. There seems to be no meaning beyond the face value of what teachers say and possibly less. All that is needed is to memorize word for word what the teacher says. They don t perceive what four times four really means, or realizing the true significance of capital in the affirmation the capital of Pará is Belem, that is, what Belem means for Pará and what Pará means for Brazil (240). Freire introduces the banking system as the cause of dehumanization, but it is not the system in general that causes it. It is the use of grading. They are used to measure the value and intelligence of students, so this is all students focus on. They only do what they need to receive the highest marks. However, this means the students don t have time to truly understand their material or realize that they don t have to spend that much time with the material. After all, the purpose of the banking system is to just fill students with information. Education is not to teach children how to learn; no, it is to make factory workers. The documentary presents a facet of cultural and academic critiques of performing Shakespeare while striving to turn those preconceived presumptions on their head. Pacino s documentary shakes up the script and provides an interesting dialogue on the importance, influence, and approachability of Shakespeare on a grand scale. A particular scene that captures Pacino s message occurs around halfway through the film. Prior to this scene, Frederic Kimball is providing his subjective insight on the motives of Richard III venturing to woo Lady Anne, while also implying that Lady Anne specifically places herself into the narrative in order to be wooed. Al Pacino rolls his eyes at Kimball s theory and opens a question to the rest of the crew, Does anyone have a better thing than Frederic on this? (Pacino, Looking for Richard). This question leads into the discussion of who is the authority on Shakespeare. A debate in which critics, scholars, performers, and the general public have been attempting to answer for ages. Economic systems are defined by how the five factors of productions are handled: labor, capital, entrepreneurs, physical resources, and information resources. Factors of production are the resources that a country s businesses use to produce goods and services (Ebert Griffin, 2015, p. 11). Planned Economies A planned economy can be defined as an economy that relies on a centralized government to control all or most factors of production and to make all or most production and allocation decisions (Ebert Griffin, 2015, p. 12). The Rights And Nation By Gerald Friesen Essay In his book, Citizens and Nation, Gerald Friesen first mentions the concept of imagined communities as he states, Space had been restructured because the communication media had eliminated so many of the inherited constraints of physical existence (Friesen 177). Thus, for Friesen, an imagined community is constructed as communication technologies connect individuals across geographical boundaries, therefore releasing the limitations of space. While Friesen s definition implies that a technological intermediary is needed for the formation of imagined relations, his work, Citizens and Nation works to prove that communities that are based on something other than face to face communication, can, without technology, also be considered imagined . • 26. John Stuart Mill s Qualitative Hedonism Essay In this hypothetical, two options are given. A person may choose from being reincarnated as Haydn, a famous musical composer, for 77 years. Or one may live as an Oyster, and decide for themselves however long they want to live. An oyster would experience unlimited years of a feeling that is near that of floating drunk in a bathtub. As Haydn, a person would experience the highs and the lows of life. Haydn composed many symphonies, and was a celebrity in his day as a musical composer. With being famous and influential, comes low times and struggles as well. The decision is between a painless life of small satisfaction, or a mix between extreme satisfaction and extreme lows. Two well known philosophers have very different thought processes, when it comes to this thought experiment. Jeremy Bentham and John Stuart Mill are their names. I side with John Stuart Mill s qualitative hedonism. I believe that his theory is more plausible. I believe this because in my life I have encountered the joy of higher pleasure and am certain it is much better than that of a lower pleasure. Jeremy Bentham s quantitative hedonism is a viewpoint that quantity, intensity, and duration of pleasures determines the value of that pleasure. Bentham argues that happiness is the ultimate good. He argues that the definition of happiness is pleasure accompanied by an avoidance of pain. • 27. Country Club Golf Degree During the high school summers, I worked on a country club golf course. My job mainly consisted of greeting the members as they came to golf, clean their clubs, and wash the carts. I was basically the face of the country club golf operations. Many members are regular golfers whom come by the club multiple times a week. Through the years, I met and formed really close friendships with a select few members. These members collectively decided to take me under their wing. This was around the time I was applying for colleges. Through our many conversations, and learning about their lives (they are both in the business field), I changed my intended major from chemistry to finance, and switched my intended school from the out of state University of Michigan to the in state Indiana University. Lieutenant Peters and Sergeant Pace felt that the General shouldn t have to pull a shift, but BG General Clayton wouldn t have any of it. They were in the field and he would pull his fair share. The night passed uneventful and the weather had cleared, the three men left the cave before sunrise and headed for the high ground to get a bearing on their location. Gentlemen, that s where we re going. BG Clayton told them, signaling to the oncoming dust clouds. Let s saddle up and get moving. This case dealt with the rights of same sex marriages and became important case in our nation s young history and in our society in general. The problem was groups of same sex couples were being told that their marriage licenses were not being upheld to the same legal standards as those of heterogeneous couples. Therefore same sex couples in Ohio, Tennessee , Kentucky, and Michigan went and sued these agencies in challenge of their constitutional rights (Oyez). They took their issue to court because they believed that the states were denying them their 14th amendment rights without due process. While it is not a personal choice for me, I see it best to support it for those who make that choice. In the Constitution marriage is not defined as the unity between a man and women, but the unity of two persons. As long as those two persons are both legal citizens of the United States then they should have full protection under the Constitution. This would include their fundamental right to marriage. Same sex should be seen equal to opposite sex marriage because the standards are no different. Just like in the case of Loving v Virginia, once you take away the factor of race or sexuality, you are left with the same principal foundations as you are of a hetero sexual couple. Therefore it would be an act of discrimination to deny legal marriage to same sex partners. Some will argue that the Bible defines marriage as between a man and women, and while that is true, it is not recognized by the court. Because it is stated in a religious doctrine and the United States has freedom of religion, this point can not be made legal valid in any situation and therefore is irrelevant. Another argument also commonly made in opposition to same sex marriage is that its legality is within the power of the states and not the national government. While the power to issue marriage licenses is given to the state, that s not all that the case argues. It argues that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 30. Why We Are Better Than Colleges Senior year is the time for making choices. Some of these choices are going to be small and others affect the rest of our lives. The biggest and most important choice is which college to attend. Do you want to stay close to home or go far away? The biggest question is what size of college is right for you. My two top choices are University of Bluffton and University of Findlay. I think they are both great colleges but one is definitely a better fit for me. The University of Findlay is a better fit for me over University of Bluffton because it is close to home, but is still large enough to give me the large campus feel I am looking for in a college. America is so quick to turn their beliefs and stands into whatever is the right side of history at the time even if it contradicts something they previously believed. • 36. Symptoms And Treatment Of An Immune Mediated Disease An immune mediated disease is a disease where the immune system damages its own body systems because of an inability to recognize normal immune responses. Equine recurrent uveitis, also known as moon blindness, is an immune mediated disease that causes ocular inflammation in horses. The immune response of the horse s body overreacts to the inner tissue of the eye. In chronic conditions, cataracts, glaucoma, retinal degeneration and lens luxation can occur resulting in blindness. Potential causes may include bacterial infections (leptospirosis, E coli), viral infections (equine influenza virus), parasitic infections (neck threadworms), tooth root abscess, hoof abscess and blunt trauma. Equine recurrent uveitis is encountered in horses only. Clinical signs of equine recurrent uveitis may be noticed if the horse appears as if it is holding the affected eye shut if it is painful or sensitive to light. A blue or hazy appearance may be seen in the cornea and the sclera can appear bloodshot. Excessive tear production should be considered a possible sign of equine recurrent uveitis. An ophthalmologic exam will rule out other causes of uveitis. Diagnostic tests performed include tonometry, which measures the intraocular pressure and will rule out glaucoma. A flourescein stain is performed to detect corneal injury and will rule out ulcerative keratitis. Treatment for equine recurrent uveitis focuses on pain management, reduction in inflammation and prevention of vision loss. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
