Interior Design Social And Psychological Theories
Interior Design social and psychological theories were developed to aid the designers in better
understanding people s needs when it comes to a space. Even in ancient times, requirements had to
be met to make living conditions bearable. High ceilings, clerestory windows that allowed natural
sun light in, tripartite floor plan arrangement and more were some of the norms of design that
helped people psychologically and socially adapt to their current conditions.
How do people feel when they are at a certain setting? What triggers discomfort, irritation or
distress? What causes good mood, appetite or comfort? This is what Psychological Social theories
explore, the space people relationship and the space mind relationship. Psychological ... Show more

Bad lighting or no natural lighting, wrong color palette, how crowded the space may feel, lack of
privacy much more, are some things that if not taken into consideration could make the stay in a
space unbearable. The final goal is for the occupier of the space to feel comfortable and at ease
whether in a public or a private setting. Although there are many settings that must accomplished
the explained above in this chapter, however, we will be focusing on the Psychological and Social
theories in restaurant design for it is one of the most common examples that includes all the aspects
explained in this chapter.
Today, high levels of people populate public settings causing many requirements and demands to
arise. One of them is the need for privacy in the often crowded public areas. When designing a
restaurant layout, it is important to consider how much privacy will the visitors have. One of
the biggest dilemmas in restaurant design is the need for tables and seating space which
maximizes the profit of the business. However, overcrowding a space with furniture can make
the diners feel enclosed and uncomfortable for no one likes to be too close to a stranger. On the
other hand, just as people don t like very crowded spaces, they don like very big ones either for
they seem cold and impersonal giving them a sense of exclusion. It is important to find the
balance between the both. Privacy is best described as a process by

Landlord / Tenant Relationship
Novenber 18, 2010
BUS 311: Landlord / Tenant Relationship Understanding landlord and tenant rights and
responsibilities is critical for a successful relationship between two parties, whether in a residential
or commercial environment. Both the landlord and the tenant have specific rights and also
specific responsibilities. To understand the landlord tenant relationship one must first understand
the roles of each party and understand how the relationship is defined. The landlord, or lessor, is
the owner of real property who willingly gives up his right to possess the property in exchange for
a monetary gain. The tenant, or lessee, agrees to pay the landlord for use of the ... Show more

During this inspection the landlord discovered illegal drugs and notified the police. The police
arrested Johnny Sanchez for illegal possession of a controlled substance and he was sentenced
to seven tears in prison and was forced to pay monetary fines. In defending himself, the former
tenant claimed that the landlord did not have the right to allow the police into the house. He
claimed it was still in his possession and since no search warrant was issued all evidence was
obtained illegally. The judge threw out this defense. Since Sanchez had abandoned the property
and quit paying rent, the landlord had the right to regain possession of the property. The landlord
exercised his right to take his property back and did not need the former tenant s approval to grant
access to the police. The evidence was allowed in the trial and Mr. Sanchez was convicted (2010
WL 4237307). As stated above, the landlord has the responsibility to provide quiet enjoyment to the
tenant, and the tenant has the right to quiet enjoyment. This enjoyment includes the use of the
premises without unreasonable interference from the landlord or third parties (Liuzzo and Bonnice,
page 349). An example of this would be the case of Classens vs. Aiello in the state of
Massachusetts. In this case the tenant, John Classens, claims that the landlord failed to provide him
with his right to quiet enjoyment. In the case, the tenant claims that the landlord, who was
responsible for paying

Connection Themes In Fury And The Water Diviner
Connection EssayThe significant connection idea between my four texts is the theme of solders
fighting for their country. Soldiers back then were all fighting for their countries, they were all
wanting there country to win and did anything to make sure there country had the lead. The texts
that we picked was Fury directed by David Ayer, The Water Diviner directed by Russell Crowe,
The Prologue by Michel King and Hongi Hika: Badass of the week by Ben Thompson and the
movie I selected was The Dead Lands by Toa Fraser. The soldiers had to risk their lives to protect
their land and make sure that there country had the upper hand. In fury the American solders got
put into tanks and was put forward to fight the Germans. In the movie Fury directed by David
Ayer. There is a long shot of Norman when he is told to kill a German that is sitting right in front
of him with no intentions and no understanding of what is going on, of course he is very reluctant
to kill him. Standing right behind him is Wardaddy he is very angary and wants Norman to kill the
German very urgently and after a while of anger and pushing Norman, Wardaddy eventually holds
the gun with Norman and shoots the German. After Norman shot the German he was very shocked
and distraught, Wardaddy had a talk to Norman about why he had to such a thing. Norman learnt

Tv Show Sociology
In the recent years, media, especially news outlets had been accused of being severely
influenced by political party s establishments due to their content. For example, in the United
States, some had accused media companies of being biased towards a political party while they
clearly support the other. It is a fact that this accusation, no matter how ridiculous they may
sound, still holds some elements of truth in it. Since it is undeniable that the media industry is in
one way or another affected by external factors, this essay will discuss the various ways of how
movies and TV shows are affected by the political and economic factor. The essay focuses on
movies and TV shows because they generally capture a larger scale of audience, causing... Show

For example, in a Disney cartoon show, DuckTales which ran from 1987 to 1990, there are many
moments in which the creators try to portray that capitalism is a better way of life compared to
Socialism or Communism (Dofman and Mattelart, 1975). In the book, How to Read Donald
Duck (1975), it is argued that the Donald Duck character is an excessively materialistic character
which values money among other things (Dofman and Mattelart, 1975). The book also argues that
there are multiple moments in the cartoon shows which shows that the characters are only
successful in their career and ultimately their life after they are able to achieve great wealth while
the poor and working class are looked down upon. Since the show was released towards the end of
the Cold War, it could be said that the show was heavily influenced by the American economical
ideology which is consumerism due to the United States being in the Capitalist bloc. Apart from
the United States, the DuckTales show was also aired in other countries such as The United
Kingdom, New Zealand and Australia, it is clear that the show was made not only as a
propaganda medium to influence to American people but also people worldwide, especially
children into believing that Capitalism is the only way of life. Thus, it is only wise to theorise
that the show could be created as a part of the Cold War itself as it undermines the Communism
ideology that was practiced in Soviet Union during that time. In the book, How to read film (1977),
the writer suggested that the character Donald Duck would had been different if the United States
didn t adhere to the capitalist ideology (Monaco,

American Security and Police Modeled After The English
As we are now living in a century where everything is more organized, when a crime is committed,
the first thing that comes to our minds is police officers. Due to the fact that we are surrounded by
thousands of police departments, we no longer give them the right attention they deserve; rather we
take them for granted. Well before it was nothing compare to now, it took many years for England
to develop a security system, which later on America copied some of the fundamental techniques.
England helped America guide the policing system to be more effective. Such as something so
basic as the title Sheriffs come from the word shire reeves, which is from England (The History of
Policing, 2014, p.3). English plays an extremely essential role in American policing. America
adopted the English common law; the high importance placed on individual privileges, the court
structure, and numerous methods of punishment, alongside with local authority of law enforcement
agencies. This adapting s contributed three stable qualities to American policing. The first one was
tradition of restricted policepower. Second one was tradition of law enforcement agencies. Lastly
extremely distributed, and divided system of law enforcement. Due to that system we adopted the
United States is distinctive in developing about 15,000 individual law enforcement agencies, focus
merely to minimum organization and very tiny national power or procedures (Walker and Katz,
2002 p.24).

Body Mechanics Essay
Body Mechanics Seminar Work related interventions are a central part of occupational therapy
practice and occupational therapists recognize the importance of healthy engagement within the
workplace (American Occupational Therapy Association [AOTA], 2014; Wilcock Townsend as
cited in AOTA, 2014). Occupational therapists possess skills necessary to assess individuals
engaged in work activities and recognize potential dangers related to poor body mechanics
(Opp, 2016). Opp (2016) acknowledged a recent increase in employers taking a proactive
approach in preventing work related injuries and incorporating occupational therapists as means to
evaluate the work environment and make practical recommendations to reduce the risk of
workplace injury (Opp, 2016). Body Mechanics for Technicians and Mechanics will address the
risk of injury, related to poor body mechanics, of technicians and mechanics working within an

To Kill A Mockingbird Social Class Analysis
A Need For Change In western culture, people are treated differently based on resources, family
heritage, and now personal achievements. Social classing and the consequences of it have been
prevalent in societies since ancient times. Although it has been called by different names such
as caste, stratification, Bourgeoisie vs. Aristocrats, and Plebeians vs. Patricians, social
inequality remains. In To Kill a Mockingbird, Harper Lee paints a picture of the distinct type of
social classing that existed in a small Alabama town in the early 1900s. Based on skin color,
background, and wealth, people are considered to be upper, middle, or lower class. Examples of
social classing appear in the book through the Ewells reputation, through Aunt Alexandra s views
of other families, and during Scout s first day at school. The Ewells are considered poor white
trash. Notorious for laziness and living off of the government s money, they do not contribute to
society. Every town the size of Maycomb had families like the Ewells. No economic fluctuations
changed their status people like the Ewells lived as guests of the county in prosperity as well as
in the depths of depression. (227). People in Maycomb avoid the Ewells because of their economic

The Book Of Ecclesiastes, Within The Old Testament Of The...
God gave us the gift of life for us to enjoy, so why do thoses who seek only enjoyment feel
rejected and unsatisfied with their very being? The book of Ecclesiastes, within the old testament
of the bible, can give us insight to how to interact with the laws of nature and truly be able to live
life to its fullest.
Ecclesiastes is spoken by a prophet said to be the air of King David is referred to as Teacher
throughout the book. Spoiled, rich, and said to have done everything that deemed to his
satisfaction, yet he has felt nothing. As the wisest man in Jerusalem, the Teacher feels as though
he has been cursed by God, for he has tried all the deeds under the sun (1:2). He drinks, becomes
wealthy, owns land, acquires power, and experiences sexual gratification. However, none of
these deeds have brought him satisfaction. The disatisfaction of his life led him to realize that if
your beliefs are of the ones of God, than your actions through life should resemble those
commanded by him, for God himself did not curse you of evil, yet the laws of nature find a time
and place for everything to happen. The teacher encourages us to live life to the fullest, and
embrace the unforeseen changes of life for we should fear the power of God, obey his commands,
and respect him. An understanding of this will grant you the pleasure you desire in life for it is the
true meaning of life and the very source of fulfillment.

The Assault Of Sexually Assault Female Inmates
Introduction It was very common that women are being raped by jail guards in the United
States. (Armstrong, 2013). Some you may hear about, most you will never hear about, because of
the lack of media coverage (Armstrong, 2013). This paper will reflect on how jail guards have the
access to sexually assault female inmates every day. This paper will also reflect on where the
sexual assaultmay occur, when the sexual assault may occur, and the vulnerability of the
environment in the jails where sexual assaults can be committed to the female inmates. These
assaults happen in the jail system every day, and this paper will further more help one to

female jails. The power that the guards have on female inmates when imprisoned in jails are at an

things, such as food, clothing, and different privileges, if any is available depending on their stay

correctional guards in the jails for different necessities and privileges, but the guards have unlimited

America great. But he doesn t have any preparation to implement this goal. Also, he said he
would renegotiate the Trans Pacific Partnership, relations with China, the Iran nuclear deal, and
the partnerships with key allies. I doubt about his negotiation skills. He doesn t show any
knowledge about these international issues. I don t think he can negotiate with the others. The
preparation is an important stage when you try to achieve a good result. You have to know
about the problem and consider how to get win win between the parties. Trump needs to learn
how to negotiation. For example, the immigration might be a problem. But this is no way to
build a wall to ban the Mexican. The leader should separate the people from the problem. One
rule can t fit all problems. Also, Trump needs to let people trust him. The pursue fairness might
help him. The change of tax rate has a significant influence. If people view the process of fair,
they would accept it. In addition, Trump should have a BATNA if the agreement is not reached.
The BATNA helps the leader make smart choices. Also, the leader could have more bargaining

Misconceptions About Sharks
1 Lots of people seem to have misconceptions about sharks; they re man eating killing machines,
they re aggressive towards humans; they re unimportant to the ocean s ecosystem. I highly disagree
with these notions. In fact, I believe sharks are one of the greatest animals on the planet. Despite the
stigma surrounding sharksand their history in Hollywood movies (see: Jaws, Sharknado, Deep
Blue Sea, etc), sharks actually aren t very aggressive towards humans at all. Statistics show that
youhave approximately a 1 in 3,748,067 chance of being attacked by a sharkin your LIFETIME.
Compare that to your chance of dying from fireworks (1 in 340,733), getting struck by lightning
(1 in 79,746), or dying in a car accident (1 in 645). Let s say, theoretically, you DO get attacked...

Experts say sharks rarely ever attack humans unprovoked. Most shark attacks are caused by
mistaken identity, meaning they mistook you for a seal or a turtle, a shark s prey (see below).
Sharks also investigate things by bumping it with their snout, or by putting it in their mouth. This
is what causes hit and runs the shark takes a bite and disappears. This is because the shark
realized you weren t prey, or that you even tasted good. Shark attacks are also uncommonly fatal.
According to statistics, only about 7% of shark attacks end in death. The three species of shark that
are the most common perpetrators behind shark attacks are: the bull shark, tiger shark and great
white, in that order. This isn t to say that those particular species are more aggressive or dangerous
than other species. Unlike, say, lemon sharks, bulls, tigers and great whites are more likely to
encounter a human. Statistics show that beaches with more visitors each year have more shark
attacks. For example, Florida sees around 90 million tourists each year, whereas North Carolina
only gets about 50 million. Guess which state has more shark attacks? The more people in the
water, the higher the chance of a shark attack

Marijuana Legalizing Marijuana Benefits

The Benefits of Nationally Legalizing Marijuana Marijuana also known as cannabis has been used
as an herb for healing since Spanish immigrants first brought the medicine over during the Mexican
Revolution. It was continued to be used through many decades and became wildly popular in the
1960 s as a recreational drug much like alcohol. Since the government could not ban the use or sell
of the product due its unconstitutional properties, they came up with a Controlled Substance Act.
This act allowed the government to control which substances were used based on their level of
addiction and dangerousness. Shortly after the act was passed scientists and doctors began ... Show

By legalizing cannabis, law enforcement would not spend and waste money on investigations for
suspected growers, dealers, or traffickers. This could cut prison spending by reducing high amounts
of inmates convicted based on ridiculous marijuana related charges. Legalizing would also begin
growing marijuana as a crop which would provide many with jobs such as cultivators, farm hands,
transportation, packaging, ad retailing. By rising employment, the government would not have to
spend as much money on unemployment packages. The new distribution could be globally traded
and bring in revenue from other countries based off their legality. According to a Harvard
economist, The average annual trade in marijuana is estimated at $113 billion in taxes slipping
through our fingers (qtd. in Smith 1). The United States could be receiving billions in taxes each
year, but since we are not the national debt continues to rise indefinitely. In result of helping the
economy, doctors and hospitals can expand their research on marijuana benefits against

Relationship Between Sociology And Anthropology
We can say that the study of human beings can be the study of a lifetime. Great thinkers have spent
years getting some answers to questions about human behavior. Today there are many fields and
sub fields of study that engage in trying to understand humankind.
In this lesson, we will discuss the nature and beginnings of sociology and anthropology.
At the end of the lesson, you should be able to:
1.discuss the nature and history of sociology and anthropology; and
2.differentiate sociology and anthropology.
3.identify the scope of sociology
Definitions of Sociology and Anthropology
Sociology is a scientific study of human society, its origin, structure, function and direction.
Anthropology is a social science that is concerned with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Examples of these great men who did the observations and recordings are Herodotus and Tacitus.
However, it was only in the 18th century that a codified study of cultures began. The study of
culture of other people has been done by Westerners that brought forth to the racist theories about
the overall advancement of different groups.
Sociology has been practiced by the Greeks also, when they studied their surrounding society. It
was in the 19th century when sociology was recognized as an academic discipline and became a
part of the university curriculum.
The word Sociology was taken from two foreign words:
пѓ Socius a Latin term which means companion or associate
пѓ Logos a Greek term for study
Nature of Sociology
The nature of sociology is identified by the following characteristics as enlisted by Robert Bierstadt
in his book Social Order.
1.Sociology is a social science not a physical science. It concentrates on man, his social behavior,
social activities and social life.
2.Sociology is the categorical not a normative discipline. As a categorical discipline, it is a body of
knowledge about human society, and not a system of ideas and

Female Empowerment In Buffy The Vampire Slayer
Until 24 hours ago, I had never seen Buffy The Vampire Slayer. Growing up, I heard much about
this show from friends, family, and the internet. The general consensus surrounding Buffy was
that she was, and still is, a symbol of female empowerment. However, I have always been
skeptical. Is the only way to empower a female character is to make her fight vampires? Both
Gwyn Symonds s article and my first episode of Buffy have addressed these concerns. Symonds
discusses the sharing of genderroles as opposed to gender role reversal through the characters of
Buffy and Spike. Rather than Spike adopting purely feminine traits and Buffy adapting traditionally
masculine traits as a means of empowerment, the two share characteristics and tropes that can be
found in both genders. Symonds indicates that these are tentative... Show more content on

Although most women in media no longer wield a stake and kill vampires, these women are still
usually depicted practicing violence, such as Scarlett Johansson s character in the Marvel
Cinematic Universe. These women are given typically masculine traits and tropes such as
aggressiveness and a lack of emotion. Although this is an improvement from tropes such as the
damsel in distress, women are once again being fit into the confines of a box. Writers continue
to create women that can be defined in a trope, rather than an original character with a unique set
of characteristics. This will also cause female characters to lack depth. Scarlett Johansson s
character of the Black Widow, despite being a central character with multiple reappearances in the
series, lacked a back story and any character development until Avengers: Age of Ultron where her
origin was finally explored. Instead of writing women in the confines of tropes, we should be
encouraging depth and variety of female characters, just like how women are in real

What Are The Advantages And Disadvantages Of Using Ratio...
Every company or business using ratio analysis to measures financial performance within a period
of time to shows their profit or loss. There is no doubt that ratio analysis gives great insights about
a company. Using ratio analysis by a company also has few disadvantages.
First of the disadvantage of using ratio analysis is difference in accounting methodologies. Certain
ratios may be adversely affected by a company s accounting practices. Different company may be
using different accounting method. For instance, inventory valuation methods may differ and it can
be depreciation methods. As a result, comparing ratios of such companies may not describe a
correct picture as what should express.
The next limitation of applying ratio analysis is the effects of inflation not taken into
considerations. Financial records are made over a period of time. All of these records might not
give a correct picture because of the effects of inflation are not taken into account while recording.
For example, office equipment purchased two years ago was recorded at historical costs in the
statement of financial position. These rates might have the different value currently due to
inflation. The value of office equipment and depreciation may have different value now as it had
recorded.
Ratio analysis might also guide to a narrow focus on some elements of a ... Show more content on

used to evaluate the performance of a company compare to other competitors that run within the

Zimbardo Prison Experiment Stu
Zimbardo Prison Experiments The Zimbardo prison experiment was set up to investigate the
problem of what the psychological effects for normal people result from being a guard or
inmate, and in a broader sense are normal people capable of being evil. The research question
being asked was, How would normal people react to being in a simulated prison environment? In
Zimbardo s own words, Suppose you had only kids who were normally healthy, psychologically
and physically, and they knew they would be going into a prison like environment and that some
of their civil rights would be sacrificed. Would those good people, (when) put in that bad, evil place

I personally disagree and when I assert my conclusions at the end, I will explain why.
Dehumanization is taking away an individual s autonomy, their creative and unique aspects of
their personality. The experiment dehumanized all the participants by doing precisely this. By
placing them in an artificial controlled setting where variables were manipulated and allegedly
made them act a certain way due to assumed roles, they were not autonomous, i.e. dehumanized.
If I were a prisoner, especially knowing that it was only a simulation, I would have rebelled (as
some prisoners did) and definitely not become subordinate or tattled on my fellow prisoners. I
know this as I have spent a few days in a real jail before. While I was there I tried to avoid getting
into trouble and the guards didn t provoke me. When they stripped searched me however I asked
the guard doing the search if he was a f**got. I guess I didn t like someone having control over
me like that. Had a guard this real situation provoked me, even knowing the consequences, I
probably would kick his ass. Furthermore, I know I wouldn t act crazy, cry or puss out and act like
my life was ending. I would probably treat this situation pretty comically with a lot of sarcasm
and would probably try to psych out the guards. On the other hand, if I was a guard I definitely
would not have been an asshole like about a third of the guards were, and I wouldn t be a silent

The Effects Of Biofeedback System On Dynamic Balance...
Background: Majority of the previous research that evaluated the effects of biofeedback system on
dynamic balance during walking have been focused on examining the displacement of an
individual s center of mass (COM) position (similar to trunk sway amplitude) or velocity adjusted
center of mass position [Ma et. al., 2016]. Those measurements would be valid for examining
stability during a relatively static task like standing when subjects have similar amount of base of
support throughout the task. But for walking, the amount of base of support is changing stride to
stride. Previous studies also incorporated common clinical assessments (e.g., Berg BalanceScale,
Timed up and Go test, Functional Gait Assessment) to evaluate the effects of biofeedbacksystem on
user s balance and gait [Lipsitz et. al., 2015]. For example, Berg Balance Scale examines an
individual s ability of quiet standing, turning, single leg standing, making transitions between sitting
and standing, and transferring between a bed and a chair. However, those assessments may not
reflect an individual s dynamic balance level during continuous walking or walking related
activities. In addition, the activities as performed in those assessments may be insufficient to
capture complex walking dynamics and thus, unable to accurately assess an individual s walking
stability.
Implementing several state of the art dynamic stability analyses along with the standard gait analysis
enables a comprehensive assessment on

more than 5,700,300 citizens, which is only a mere fraction of the 321,000,000 citizens that live in
the United States. 62% of all Wisconsin citizens are between the ages of 16 and 65, compared to

The Message Of Jesus Christ
But who do you say that I am? (Mark 8:29). This same question that was asked of Peter and the
disciples speaks within the heart of each person we share the Gospel message with. There comes a
point, at the crux of our catechesis, where the question, Who is Jesus? needs to be answered. At the
heart of catechesis we find, in essence, a Person, the Person of Jesusof Nazareth. (CT 5). This
compelling statement given by Pope John Paul II in his exhortation, Catechesi Tradendae, calls
catechists to always remember the purpose of catechesis. They are to help lead others, through
loving example and careful communication of doctrine, to meet a real Person, the Person of Jesus
Christ and foster a deeper union with the Blessed Trinity. To proclaim the message of Jesus Christ
is vital to an organic catechesis. As catechists, it is our vocation to bring others to know of the
personal relationship that God is seeking to have with each one of them. A relationship in any
facet of the human life requires conversation through both listening and responding. Our
catechesis should be no different. As Pope Francis states in Evangelii Gaudium, It is the
message capable of responding to the desire for the infinite which abides in every human heart
(EG 165). As we actively listen to the word of God, we should be cut to the heart (Acts 2:37) in the
same way as those who heard Peter s Pentecost speech as he boldly proclaimed the kerygma.
Catechesis is not to be a teaching of each

Symbols In The Book Thief
Symbolic and Literal Meaning of Stealing The Book Thief is a story about a girl who had lost

with her foster parents she had developed a characteristic of stealing. In the story thievery is a
symbolic meaning is by she had, had her life stolen from her in a way, it is also a literal meaning
by she steals things, materialistic objects. This is important to the story because she it is a big part
of the story. She becomes known to people as the book thief . In the story the author Markus Zusak
uses thievery as a symbolic meaning by first her mother taking her and her brother to live with
foster parents. Then while on the way to being dropped off her brother had died. In a way she
kind of had her life stolen from her. She was taken away from her friends and family as she knew

Advantages and Disadvantages of the Unitary, Confederation and the Federal system of the
Government
We can look at governmental systems as a continuum from a unitary type to a confederacy with
federalism sitting in the middle. The unitary government is often described as a centralized
government. It is a government in which all powers held by the government belong to a single,
central agency. The central government creates local units of government for its own convenience.
Most of the government in the world are unitary, Great Britain being one of them. One single
central organ is Parliament it holds all the power of the British government. Local governments do
exist but solely to relieve Parliament of burdens it could perform ... Show more content on

The disadvantages are weakness of central government it makes it unable to enforce laws or collect
taxes, also lack of unity and common laws.
Lastly we move to federal government this is one in which the powers of government is divided
between a central government and several local governments. There is a authority superior to both
the central and local governments which makes this division of powers on a geographic basis;
That division cannot be changed by either the local or national level acting alone. Both levels of
government act directly on the people through their own sets of laws, the officials, and agencies. In
the United States, for example the National Government has certain powers and the 50 states have
others. This division of powers is set out in the Constitution of the United States. However federal
government also has the advantages and disadvantages. The advantages of the Federal unity is that
local government handles local problems also the local government and officials have to be very
responsive of the people who elect them. The central government can devote more time and energy
to national and international problems. They also have more opportunities for participation in
making decisions that influence what is taught in the schools, also deciding where highways and
government projects are to be built. The disadvantages are the

The Importance Of Character Development In Anthem
Character development is essential in a character driven literature, where the plot focuses not on
the events themselves, but actually on the characters motivations throughout their story. This
literary device is utilized step by step in order to focus and clarify the crucial aspects about the
character in a story. The stories that move us most, the ones that will be trapped inside our
minds years later, are those inhabited by characters the reader can connect with on a deep
emotional level. No one character can grasp in a story what they need to learn in order to give in
or overcome their own limitations and flaws without first undergoing rigorous life experiences.
The bumpy path of individual growth and development a certain character undergoes ultimately
stares at a crossroad. Imperfections, traits and vices make a character more genuine and
interesting, making them grow as a person. Equality 7 2521 s development as a character
throughout Anthem can be seen as a progressive move towards the distinctive way of thinking he
discovers and presents in the final chapters of the novel. It s an egoistic way of thinking, because it
asserts that the only goal of any individual human being should be to pursue his own happiness, and
not to subordinate his happiness to the service of others. Equality 7 2521 begins Anthem with a
declaration of his sins, indicating the degree to which his society has influenced the development of
his thoughts. There is quite a shift from the way

Being A Civilized, Clean Home
Looking at the socially appropriate responsibilities played in the plantation home during the
antebellum period, there was a specific etiquette and a role for the slave men and women, as
mentioned before, to show guests suitable hospitality along with their masters. House servants,
especially, had to dress and act in a particular way in order to be presentable to guests in the great
house. Servants who took part of visits, dinner parties, and balls should be properly attired and
prepared accordingly for the event, as to show that their master promotes a civilized, clean
home. In the journals of Fanny Kemble, a notable British actress in the 19th century, during her
visit in Georgia, she writes about a horrid experience at a dinner party: two young lads of from
fifteen to twenty, who wait upon us in the capacity of footmen. As, however, the latter are
perfectly filthy in their persons and clothes their faces, hands, and naked feet being literally
encrusted with dirt their attendance at our meals is not, as you may suppose, particularly
agreeable to me, and I dispense with it as often as possible. Mary, too, is so intolerably offensive
in her person that it is impossible to endure her proximity, and the consequence is that, amongst
Mr. s slaves, I wait upon myself more than I have ever done in my life before. As perceived,
servants that are disheveled give evidence of not only disgrace to themselves with their bad
hygiene, but the appalling hospitality of the host

Schools Need To Be Responsible For The Protection Of...
Schools need to be responsible for the protection of kids while in school. In the court case,
Morrow versus Balaski (Daniell 133)the US court of appeals for the third circuit explained that
school children are never in full custody of the school because they remain primarily dependent on

would impose a duty and on school districts to protect students from violence. (Daniell 134).
School districts should be required to protect students from Intruders. They should also be better

Teachers need to be trained how to handle various types of emergencies such as health and

Teachers are required to review basic first aid and CPR, Suicide Prevention, and emergency

The Diamond Necklace Affair Essay
The Diamond Necklace Affair
Marie Antoinette, Queen of France from 1770 to 1797 was despised by the people of France.
Their hatred of her and the monarchy in general led to the French Revolution. Many issues led to
the unpopularity of Queen Maria Antoinette, her vanity, her disregard for the people, but perhaps
the most significant was the Affair of the Diamond Necklace. In 1785, the court jewelers, Bohmer

ugly arrangement that resembled the collars worn by circus animals. They hoped that King Louis

the one being deceived. His eminence, he said, sees [the Queen] in private and he has brought me
thirty thousand francs from the Queen as a down payment. Madame Campan immediately notified
the Queen of his visit. When Marie Antoinette called the jeweler back for questioning the diabolical
plot was discovered (Komroff 86).
The plot began in 1777 when, against Marie Antoinette s wishes, Rohan was named Grand
Almoner. Trying desperately to soften the Queen s anger, realizing that if she wouldn t
acknowledge him, his power in court would diminish greatly, he wrote many letters to her but to no
avail. She still refused to honor him with the slightest sign of recognition (86).
His desire for recognition led to his involvement with an adventuress and swindler by the name of
Countess de la Motte Valois (Affair). Countess Jeanne la Motte Valois came from a very strange
background. She was a direct descendant of King Henry II of France but generations of bad
marriages had reduced the family to poverty. She married an officer of the gendarmes and the
couple assumed the titles of Count and Countess (Komroff 87).

Traffic In Toronto Essay
Have you ever had any trouble with traffic? Most people would say Yes . Many people, who live in
Toronto, may have dissatisfaction with traffic. According to The Smart Growth Panel of Ontario ,
every motorist in the city spends their commuting time on the road by up to 30 percent during peak
traffic hours ( Toronto , 2015). Travel should be convenient and people could drive swift and
accuracy. However, the city of Toronto has too much construction, and there are so many illegally
parked cars everywhere. To solve these problems, the Toronto government should order illegally
parked cars to be towed than before, and the construction should be faster and more intensive. Much
construction is one of the problems of heavy traffic. The city of Toronto and Toronto Transit
Commission planned various construction projects throughout downtown this spring, summer and
fall. The plans have 12 kinds of construction projects only in downtown (Downtown construction,
n.d). These projects are only government works, private companies does not include in these
projects. Due to these construction projects, there will be shut downs in their construction sections

My Vision At Centipede Soccer
Overview
My vision this summer came alive with the help of the Kokomo YMCA, when I was granted the
opportunity to coach Centipede Soccer. Centipede Soccer is the perfect introduction to the game
of soccer for children of the ages 3 5. The mission of this program is that the children will learn
the fundamentals of the game in a non competitive atmosphere, while working on motor skills,
coordination and listening skills. The benefits of the Y s youth sports programs for the little ones
are big both on and off the field. My role as the coach was to find fun ways to make this a great
first time soccer experience for all the children by showcasing the different skills and objectives of
the game but also advocating new skills to maintain a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
My first and probably most important duty as a coach to this younger age group was to make all
activities fun and easy to understand, but to also think about safety and the well being of all my
players. Because this was many of the team s first soccer experience, going over the proper
equipment was key to do to ensure they were all protected with the right shoes and shin guards.
While watching the first few practices and games, it was becoming clear to see which areas
needed the most amount of work on and picking up on these things are vital to plan creative drills
that will improve each skill. All of my hard work with planning the lessons for the day to creating a
positive environment for the children to learn and thrive follows right along with the mission of
Centipede Soccer by instilling the importance of teamwork.

Within this Sport and Fitness Internship, it was my agreement to coach a minimum of 40 hours
at Darrough Chapel Park through a partnership with the Kokomo YMCA s Soccer Program. This
permitted me the chance to put all my knowledge and skills to the test, whether it was being
recalled from my soccer experience growing up or getting the first hand feel of how to apply what
I have learned from my courses at IU Kokomo University in the past semesters. Regardless of
which method gave me better insight on coaching, this internship has become a stepping stone in
showcasing my efforts don t go unnoticed and that I am going to do great things

Race And Reality In The Adventures Of Huckleberry Finn
Imposture and Identity, Fiction and Reality are the real dilemmas of Mark Twain s America in The
Adventures of Huckleberry Finn
The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn is one of Mark Twain s most celebrated novels. Although it is
viewed as a continuation of another work of his, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer(as is referenced in
the story itself), the book has managed to gain its own success and to have a fame of its own
thanks to the subtle but effective manner in which it managed to bring forth into discussion a great
number of very important themes, such as culture and civilization, values and morality, race and
identity. Disguised in a coming of age story about a boy who seeks to escape the limitations of a

Huck s identity depends, therefore, on whatever it is that keeps those adopted roles from sticking.
(Thomas 281) That is not, however to say that Huckleberry Finn will not acquire a true identity, as
with the progression of the story, from the very start but more evidently from the Wilks Farm
adventure, the reader gathers glimpses of what the boy may become as we witness his thoughts and
evolving opinions. One may assume that that which keeps Huck from becoming an impostor
through his many roles is the same factor which will determine his later and final

6th grade. When I first started baking, I would always use a regular hand whisk, I never had the
desire to buy a fancy expensive electric mixer until one day I wanted to make a angel food cake for
my mom s birthday. I had made it once before in my homect class and I knew that an angel foodcake
with a whipped cream topping needed a lot of air incorporated into it for it to rise. I also knew
that if I tried to beat the batter and the whipped cream by hand, I would probably get carpal tunnel.

Tecumseh ,Shawnee war chief, was born at Old Piqua, on the Mad River in western Ohio. In

Tecumseh slowly transformed his brother s religious following into a political movement. In 1808
Tecumseh and the Prophet moved their village to the juncture of the Tippecanoe and Wabash rivers,
where the new settlement, Prophetstown, continued to attract Indians. After the loss of much
Indian land at the Treaty of Fort Wayne, Tecumseh gradually eclipsed his brother as the primary
leader of the movement. He traveled throughout the Midwest urging tribes to form a political
confederacy to prevent any further erosion of their lands. In November 1811, while Tecumseh was
in the South attempting to recruit the Creeks into his confederacy, U.S. forces marched against
Prophetstown. In the subsequent Battle of the Tippecanoe they defeated the Prophet, burned the
settlement, and destroyed the Indians food supplies. After returning from the South Tecumseh tried
to rebuild his shattered confederacy. But when the War of 1812 broke out, he withdrew to
Michigan where he assisted the British in the capture of Detroit and led pro British Indians in small
actions in southern Michigan and northern Ohio (Fort Meigs). When William Henry Harrison

Differences in Marketing for B2C and B2B Sites
Introduction
Marketing in an electronic business/commerce (e business/e commerce) arena today is truly no
different than the ole В‘brick and mortar business. Business to business (B2B) and business to
consumer (B2C) sites need to have a crafty approach to implement marketing strategies and develop
an effective marketing plan to reach the intended (targeted) market. Thus, the mixing or blending
of the four Ps (product, place, price, and promotion) in such a way to attain both the business and
target market s goals and objectives is the key to success. The correct marketing mix, or blend, will
help both a B2B or B2C site ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is because the relationships that are developed between a B2C business and a consumer are
normally shorter in duration than the relationship between a B2B business and their customer (http:
//www.vista consulting.com/marketing articles/b2b b2c marketing.htm, 2006).
Business to Business (B2B)
Like B2C sites, B2B sites must also have a good understanding on the target market they are
attempting to reach, but B2B marketing is more focused on relationship building than transaction
building like B2C sites. Additionally, the business buyer is sophisticated, understands your product
or service better than you do, and wants or needs to buy products or services to help their company
stay profitable, competitive, and successful (http://www.vista consulting.com/marketing articles
/b2b b2c marketing.htm, 2006). Furthermore, the visitor to the B2B site might not be the actual
buyer, but a member of the decision making team. Thus, B2B sites must fulfill the needs of the
В‘researcher who may be just wanting to locate detailed information about the product, long term
customer care, and the financial stability of the B2B (Grove, 2005). And, in most cases, B2B site s
target market is smaller and well defined versus the B2C target market. For B2B sites, they are
building their customer base on long term relationships, trust, and commitments not on the number

The Fall Of The House Of Usher And Other Tales
Many authors try to focus on one thing in their works, and some do succeed. However, others try
to bring out multiple faces of life through their creativity and styles of writing. In the Romantic
period of American literature, several ink slingers bring out specific motifs in their works. Edgar
Allen Poe in his collection, The Fall of the House of Usher and Other Tales , writes in a form that
betrays the Romantic style with his use of symbolism and his focus on the individual in his short
stories.
A major idea in Poe s tales is symbolism. He displays his penchant for this in his story The Cask of
Amontillado with his character named Fortunado. In this story, Fortunado is a man who has
somehow wronged the narrator. The narrator leads Fortunado

A Clockwork Orange Essay
Anthony Burgess novel, A Clockwork Orange, depicts a somber and disconsolate future that is
filled with violence, rape, and destruction. Burgess challenges the loyalty of the reader towards the
narrator and main character, Alex, throughout the course of the novel. In the beginning, the reader
does not have an emotional connection to Alex; however, as the novel progresses and Alex begins
his course of ruthless, violent acts, the reader builds up a sense of loathing toward Alex. Despite
this, by the end of the novel, the reader almost begins to develop a sense of solicitude for Alex.

Burgess insists that he based nadsat, the invented slang of the teenage hooligans in A Clockwork
Orange, on Russian for aesthetic reasons, but it is believed that this experience influenced his
portrayal of Alex and his gang. The dystopian world of the novel draws attention to the elements
of the American and English societies that Burgess detested. Burgess had a tendency toward
anarchy and felt the socialistic British welfare state was too willing to sacrifice individual liberty
in favor of social stability (A Clockwork Orange). He despised American popular culture due to its
fostering of homogeneity, passivity, and apathy. He regarded American law enforcement as being
corrupt and violent. Each of these targets are pointed out in A Clockwork Orange.
The film recreation of the novel features Alex and his droogs spending their nights getting high
before embarking on various acts of violence. One of these acts of violence includes tyrannizing
a writer, Mr. Alexander, and gang raping his wife, who later dies as a result. Alex is later jailed
for bludgeoning the Cat Lady to death. Alex submits to the Ludovico behavior modification

Analysis Of The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance
1. The Man who shot liberty valance Tom Doniphon, the outlaw hero, shot Liberty Valance To
protect Hallie and Ransom Stoddard because he knew that Ransom is the right future for his
town and Hallie, even though Ransom views contradict with Toms views and wishes.
Throughout the movie there is a clear message; wilderness V. civilization. Shine bow, Tom,
Liberty, etc., portraying the wilderness and Tom Donovan and The East portraying the
civilization. Tom believed in the lawless frontier and is even Compared to Liberty by Ransom
saying, you are as bad as he is (liberty). Throughout the film, Tom realizes that Ransom is a great
asset to his Town and a wonderful man to Hallie who teaches the whole town how to live a safer,
happier and more civilized life. Tom does not believe in this way of life and prefers the
wilderness, but he thinks about his town and what is the best for them in the long run, showing
that Tom deep down strongly supports personal Integrity. Tom lets the town believe that Ransom
was the one who shot liberty because Tom wanted the town to support Ransom even more. He
knew after saving Ransoms live and shooting Liberty; he had lost his lawless freedom (liberty)
and the women he loved. When he told Ransom that he was the one who killed Liberty Valance,
he said: Cold blooded murder, but I can live with it. Hallie s happy. She wanted you alive. ...
Hallie s your girl now. Go back in there and take that nomination. You taught her how to read and
write; now give her something to read and write about! he called his shooting of Valance cold
blooded murder even though it was justifiable homicide to prevent the killing of Ransom, who
he knew didn t have a chance in a gunfight. I think Tom called it murder not from a legal
standpoint but from his perspective as a gunfighter since he cowardly killed Liberty from a corner
instead of facing him in a gunfight. However, he realized that this was necessary to boost
Ransoms position among the townspeople because Tom saw him as the best hope for the future of
Shine Bow and Hallie. That s why he said, I can live with that. He told Ransom the truth because
he wanted him not to feel guilty about killing someone and that at least one person would

  • 2. Interior Design Social And Psychological Theories Interior Design social and psychological theories were developed to aid the designers in better understanding people s needs when it comes to a space. Even in ancient times, requirements had to be met to make living conditions bearable. High ceilings, clerestory windows that allowed natural sun light in, tripartite floor plan arrangement and more were some of the norms of design that helped people psychologically and socially adapt to their current conditions. How do people feel when they are at a certain setting? What triggers discomfort, irritation or distress? What causes good mood, appetite or comfort? This is what Psychological Social theories explore, the space people relationship and the space mind relationship. Psychological ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Bad lighting or no natural lighting, wrong color palette, how crowded the space may feel, lack of privacy much more, are some things that if not taken into consideration could make the stay in a space unbearable. The final goal is for the occupier of the space to feel comfortable and at ease whether in a public or a private setting. Although there are many settings that must accomplished the explained above in this chapter, however, we will be focusing on the Psychological and Social theories in restaurant design for it is one of the most common examples that includes all the aspects explained in this chapter. Today, high levels of people populate public settings causing many requirements and demands to arise. One of them is the need for privacy in the often crowded public areas. When designing a restaurant layout, it is important to consider how much privacy will the visitors have. One of the biggest dilemmas in restaurant design is the need for tables and seating space which maximizes the profit of the business. However, overcrowding a space with furniture can make the diners feel enclosed and uncomfortable for no one likes to be too close to a stranger. On the other hand, just as people don t like very crowded spaces, they don like very big ones either for they seem cold and impersonal giving them a sense of exclusion. It is important to find the balance between the both. Privacy is best described as a process by ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Bus 311 Landlord Tenant Relationship BUS 311 Business Law I Landlord / Tenant Relationship Novenber 18, 2010 BUS 311: Landlord / Tenant Relationship Understanding landlord and tenant rights and responsibilities is critical for a successful relationship between two parties, whether in a residential or commercial environment. Both the landlord and the tenant have specific rights and also specific responsibilities. To understand the landlord tenant relationship one must first understand the roles of each party and understand how the relationship is defined. The landlord, or lessor, is the owner of real property who willingly gives up his right to possess the property in exchange for a monetary gain. The tenant, or lessee, agrees to pay the landlord for use of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... During this inspection the landlord discovered illegal drugs and notified the police. The police arrested Johnny Sanchez for illegal possession of a controlled substance and he was sentenced to seven tears in prison and was forced to pay monetary fines. In defending himself, the former tenant claimed that the landlord did not have the right to allow the police into the house. He claimed it was still in his possession and since no search warrant was issued all evidence was obtained illegally. The judge threw out this defense. Since Sanchez had abandoned the property and quit paying rent, the landlord had the right to regain possession of the property. The landlord exercised his right to take his property back and did not need the former tenant s approval to grant access to the police. The evidence was allowed in the trial and Mr. Sanchez was convicted (2010 WL 4237307). As stated above, the landlord has the responsibility to provide quiet enjoyment to the tenant, and the tenant has the right to quiet enjoyment. This enjoyment includes the use of the premises without unreasonable interference from the landlord or third parties (Liuzzo and Bonnice, page 349). An example of this would be the case of Classens vs. Aiello in the state of Massachusetts. In this case the tenant, John Classens, claims that the landlord failed to provide him with his right to quiet enjoyment. In the case, the tenant claims that the landlord, who was responsible for paying ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Connection Themes In Fury And The Water Diviner Connection EssayThe significant connection idea between my four texts is the theme of solders fighting for their country. Soldiers back then were all fighting for their countries, they were all wanting there country to win and did anything to make sure there country had the lead. The texts that we picked was Fury directed by David Ayer, The Water Diviner directed by Russell Crowe, The Prologue by Michel King and Hongi Hika: Badass of the week by Ben Thompson and the movie I selected was The Dead Lands by Toa Fraser. The soldiers had to risk their lives to protect their land and make sure that there country had the upper hand. In fury the American solders got put into tanks and was put forward to fight the Germans. In the movie Fury directed by David Ayer. There is a long shot of Norman when he is told to kill a German that is sitting right in front of him with no intentions and no understanding of what is going on, of course he is very reluctant to kill him. Standing right behind him is Wardaddy he is very angary and wants Norman to kill the German very urgently and after a while of anger and pushing Norman, Wardaddy eventually holds the gun with Norman and shoots the German. • 5. Tv Show Sociology In the recent years, media, especially news outlets had been accused of being severely influenced by political party s establishments due to their content. For example, in the United States, some had accused media companies of being biased towards a political party while they clearly support the other. It is a fact that this accusation, no matter how ridiculous they may sound, still holds some elements of truth in it. Since it is undeniable that the media industry is in one way or another affected by external factors, this essay will discuss the various ways of how movies and TV shows are affected by the political and economic factor. For example, in a Disney cartoon show, DuckTales which ran from 1987 to 1990, there are many moments in which the creators try to portray that capitalism is a better way of life compared to Socialism or Communism (Dofman and Mattelart, 1975). In the book, How to Read Donald Duck (1975), it is argued that the Donald Duck character is an excessively materialistic character which values money among other things (Dofman and Mattelart, 1975). The book also argues that there are multiple moments in the cartoon shows which shows that the characters are only successful in their career and ultimately their life after they are able to achieve great wealth while the poor and working class are looked down upon. Since the show was released towards the end of the Cold War, it could be said that the show was heavily influenced by the American economical ideology which is consumerism due to the United States being in the Capitalist bloc. Apart from the United States, the DuckTales show was also aired in other countries such as The United Kingdom, New Zealand and Australia, it is clear that the show was made not only as a propaganda medium to influence to American people but also people worldwide, especially children into believing that Capitalism is the only way of life. Thus, it is only wise to theorise that the show could be created as a part of the Cold War itself as it undermines the Communism ideology that was practiced in Soviet Union during that time. In the book, How to read film (1977), the writer suggested that the character Donald Duck would had been different if the United States didn t adhere to the capitalist ideology (Monaco, ... • 6. American Security and Police Modeled After The English As we are now living in a century where everything is more organized, when a crime is committed, the first thing that comes to our minds is police officers. Due to the fact that we are surrounded by thousands of police departments, we no longer give them the right attention they deserve; rather we take them for granted. Well before it was nothing compare to now, it took many years for England to develop a security system, which later on America copied some of the fundamental techniques. England helped America guide the policing system to be more effective. Such as something so basic as the title Sheriffs come from the word shire reeves, which is from England (The History of Policing, 2014, p.3). English plays an extremely essential role in American policing. America adopted the English common law; the high importance placed on individual privileges, the court structure, and numerous methods of punishment, alongside with local authority of law enforcement agencies. This adapting s contributed three stable qualities to American policing. The first one was tradition of restricted policepower. Second one was tradition of law enforcement agencies. Lastly extremely distributed, and divided system of law enforcement. Due to that system we adopted the United States is distinctive in developing about 15,000 individual law enforcement agencies, focus merely to minimum organization and very tiny national power or procedures (Walker and Katz, 2002 p.24). • 8. To Kill A Mockingbird Social Class Analysis A Need For Change In western culture, people are treated differently based on resources, family heritage, and now personal achievements. Social classing and the consequences of it have been prevalent in societies since ancient times. Although it has been called by different names such as caste, stratification, Bourgeoisie vs. Aristocrats, and Plebeians vs. Patricians, social inequality remains. In To Kill a Mockingbird, Harper Lee paints a picture of the distinct type of social classing that existed in a small Alabama town in the early 1900s. Based on skin color, background, and wealth, people are considered to be upper, middle, or lower class. Examples of social classing appear in the book through the Ewells reputation, through Aunt Alexandra s views of other families, and during Scout s first day at school. The Ewells are considered poor white trash. Notorious for laziness and living off of the government s money, they do not contribute to society. Every town the size of Maycomb had families like the Ewells. • 11. The Book Of Ecclesiastes, Within The Old Testament Of The... God gave us the gift of life for us to enjoy, so why do thoses who seek only enjoyment feel rejected and unsatisfied with their very being? The book of Ecclesiastes, within the old testament of the bible, can give us insight to how to interact with the laws of nature and truly be able to live life to its fullest. Ecclesiastes is spoken by a prophet said to be the air of King David is referred to as Teacher throughout the book. Spoiled, rich, and said to have done everything that deemed to his satisfaction, yet he has felt nothing. As the wisest man in Jerusalem, the Teacher feels as though he has been cursed by God, for he has tried all the deeds under the sun (1:2). He drinks, becomes wealthy, owns land, acquires power, and experiences sexual gratification. However, none of these deeds have brought him satisfaction. Every company or business using ratio analysis to measures financial performance within a period of time to shows their profit or loss. There is no doubt that ratio analysis gives great insights about a company. Using ratio analysis by a company also has few disadvantages. First of the disadvantage of using ratio analysis is difference in accounting methodologies. Certain ratios may be adversely affected by a company s accounting practices. Different company may be using different accounting method. For instance, inventory valuation methods may differ and it can be depreciation methods. As a result, comparing ratios of such companies may not describe a correct picture as what should express. The next limitation of applying ratio analysis is the effects of inflation not taken into considerations. Financial records are made over a period of time. • 27. The Effects Of Biofeedback System On Dynamic Balance... Background: Majority of the previous research that evaluated the effects of biofeedback system on dynamic balance during walking have been focused on examining the displacement of an individual s center of mass (COM) position (similar to trunk sway amplitude) or velocity adjusted center of mass position [Ma et. al., 2016]. Those measurements would be valid for examining stability during a relatively static task like standing when subjects have similar amount of base of support throughout the task. But for walking, the amount of base of support is changing stride to stride. Previous studies also incorporated common clinical assessments (e.g., Berg BalanceScale, Timed up and Go test, Functional Gait Assessment) to evaluate the effects of biofeedbacksystem on user s balance and gait [Lipsitz et. al., 2015]. For example, Berg Balance Scale examines an individual s ability of quiet standing, turning, single leg standing, making transitions between sitting and standing, and transferring between a bed and a chair. However, those assessments may not reflect an individual s dynamic balance level during continuous walking or walking related activities. In addition, the activities as performed in those assessments may be insufficient to capture complex walking dynamics and thus, unable to accurately assess an individual s walking stability. This same question that was asked of Peter and the disciples speaks within the heart of each person we share the Gospel message with. There comes a point, at the crux of our catechesis, where the question, Who is Jesus? needs to be answered. At the heart of catechesis we find, in essence, a Person, the Person of Jesusof Nazareth. • 34. The Importance Of Character Development In Anthem Character development is essential in a character driven literature, where the plot focuses not on the events themselves, but actually on the characters motivations throughout their story. This literary device is utilized step by step in order to focus and clarify the crucial aspects about the character in a story. The stories that move us most, the ones that will be trapped inside our minds years later, are those inhabited by characters the reader can connect with on a deep emotional level. No one character can grasp in a story what they need to learn in order to give in or overcome their own limitations and flaws without first undergoing rigorous life experiences. The bumpy path of individual growth and development a certain character undergoes ultimately stares at a crossroad. Imperfections, traits and vices make a character more genuine and interesting, making them grow as a person. Equality 7 2521 s development as a character throughout Anthem can be seen as a progressive move towards the distinctive way of thinking he discovers and presents in the final chapters of the novel. It s an egoistic way of thinking, because it asserts that the only goal of any individual human being should be to pursue his own happiness, and not to subordinate his happiness to the service of others. Equality 7 2521 begins Anthem with a declaration of his sins, indicating the degree to which his society has influenced the development of his thoughts. There is quite a shift from the way ... • 35. Being A Civilized, Clean Home Looking at the socially appropriate responsibilities played in the plantation home during the antebellum period, there was a specific etiquette and a role for the slave men and women, as mentioned before, to show guests suitable hospitality along with their masters. House servants, especially, had to dress and act in a particular way in order to be presentable to guests in the great house. Servants who took part of visits, dinner parties, and balls should be properly attired and prepared accordingly for the event, as to show that their master promotes a civilized, clean home. In the journals of Fanny Kemble, a notable British actress in the 19th century, during her visit in Georgia, she writes about a horrid experience at a dinner party: two young lads of from fifteen to twenty, who wait upon us in the capacity of footmen. As, however, the latter are perfectly filthy in their persons and clothes their faces, hands, and naked feet being literally encrusted with dirt their attendance at our meals is not, as you may suppose, particularly agreeable to me, and I dispense with it as often as possible. Mary, too, is so intolerably offensive in her person that it is impossible to endure her proximity, and the consequence is that, amongst Mr. s slaves, I wait upon myself more than I have ever done in my life before. As perceived, servants that are disheveled give evidence of not only disgrace to themselves with their bad hygiene, but the appalling hospitality of the host ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 53. Analysis Of The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance 1. The Man who shot liberty valance Tom Doniphon, the outlaw hero, shot Liberty Valance To protect Hallie and Ransom Stoddard because he knew that Ransom is the right future for his town and Hallie, even though Ransom views contradict with Toms views and wishes. Throughout the movie there is a clear message; wilderness V. civilization. Shine bow, Tom, Liberty, etc., portraying the wilderness and Tom Donovan and The East portraying the civilization. Tom believed in the lawless frontier and is even Compared to Liberty by Ransom saying, you are as bad as he is (liberty). Throughout the film, Tom realizes that Ransom is a great asset to his Town and a wonderful man to Hallie who teaches the whole town how to live a safer, happier and more civilized life. Tom does not believe in this way of life and prefers the wilderness, but he thinks about his town and what is the best for them in the long run, showing that Tom deep down strongly supports personal Integrity. I think Tom called it murder not from a legal standpoint but from his perspective as a gunfighter since he cowardly killed Liberty from a corner instead of facing him in a gunfight. However, he realized that this was necessary to boost Ransoms position among the townspeople because Tom saw him as the best hope for the future of Shine Bow and Hallie. That s why he said, I can live with that. He told Ransom the truth because he wanted him not to feel guilty about killing someone and that at least one person would ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
