The panel discussion will focus on the Asian citrus psyllid (ACP), an invasive insect pest found in Alabama citrus orchards that transmits citrus greening disease. The panelists will discuss ACP identification and biology, the threat it poses to Alabama citrus, and quarantine and management strategies. Extension resources for farmers include websites, publications, workshops, and contacting the Alabama Department of Agriculture to report any ACP sightings. The panel will also discuss the integrated pest management of other common citrus pests throughout the year.
