A Free Trade Agreement ( Fta )
A free trade agreement (FTA) is a binding trade agreement signed two or more countries to agree on
mutual granting of tariff preferences and reduction of non tariff trade barriers in goods and
services. In order to deepen the economic integration of the signatory countries, the FTA also
incorporates issues of access to new markets, other regulatory issues related to trade, such as
intellectual property, investment, competition policy, financial services, telecommunications,
electronic commerce, labor and environmental provisions and mechanisms of trade protection and
dispute settlement. FTAs have an indefinite term, that is, to remain in force over time so they have
in perpetuity. The free tradeagreements bring benefits which are related not only commercial
aspects but are positive for the economy as a whole: can reduce and often eliminate non tariff and
tariff barriers to trade; contribute to improving the competitiveness of companies (since it is
possible to provide raw materials and machinery at lower costs); facilitate the increased flow of
foreign investment, by providing certainty and stability over time investors.
Economy is a huge topic that looks to analyze the extraction, production and use of goods.
Through human history trade has been a form and part of economy. In the past trade was used as
the main source to obtain goods. In a trade there are two or more providers involved. When trades
are done is because the two sides involved are going to win something

Essay on Differences between Lives in Solingen and Phoenix
Differences between Lives in Solingen and Phoenix
As I arrived at Phoenix in September of 1999, I was very excited to see this famous city and it s
country and to get to know everything about it. But with the time I realized that Phoenix is not
more different than my town in Germany, Solingen. It s a not a big citybut it is a very beautiful one
with many small streets and small houses around them. I had even the impression that the life in
Germany was more exciting than in Phoenix. Now I m living in Phoenix for over one year and I
can say now that there are many differences between those two countries which had a big influence
at our further lives. I m talking about differences which you can t notice if you go there for a ...

the stores or places where you could have go out were pretty far away from our apartment.
Mostly I needed a car to go out somewhere. The buses are stationed only on few places and they
arrive in very long intervals. So after a time, we realized that we had to buy a car. In contrast to
Phoenix, during our time in Solingen, we used the car mostly for longer trips. The whole city was
connected with bus lines and they were coming to the bus stations every ten minutes. If we had to
go somewhere in the city, we used mostly the buses. We saved our gas money and were there
always on time.
While in Phoenix you have problems to find the time to go out with your friends, in Solingen, I
was most of the time able to plan something at a short time. Every day after the school, I went to
the downtown of Solingen with some friends or alone and we were walking through the streets
full of stores and joking around. I did this almost every day in the week. On the weekends there
were many places to go out with friends like many clubs and cafe s in Solingen or in the bigger
towns next to us like Dusseldorf or Cologne. This cities are famous for their streets to go out
there and have a good time. People from all West Germany came over to these streets to have fun.
So it was never boring even in a small town like Solingen. I could always do something if I was
bored.
A another good example thing that verifies the deference between these unlike cities is having a
job. To have a job in the

Rocky Mountain Outfitters By the early 2000s, Rocky Mountain Outfitters had grown to become a
significant regional sports clothing distributor in the Rocky Mountain and Western states. The
states of Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Utah,Wyoming, Idaho, Oregon, Washington, and
Nevada, and the eastern edge of California had seen tremendous growth in recreation activities

these states, to respond to the market,RMO expanded its line of sportswear. ROM s natural

As design moves forward, the development teams begin to generate a tremendous amount of
detailed information about the system. Modules, classes, data fields, data structures, forms, reports,
methods, subroutines, and tables are all being defined in substantial detail in the design model. The
key design tasks are decomposing the application into layers, clients, and servers, distributing the
pieces across hardware platforms, and defining the physical network and protocols. Seven major
activities must be done during the design phase: Prototype for design details Design and integrate
the system controls Design and integrate the network Design the application architecture Design
the user interfaces Design the system interfaces Design and integrate the database Design activities
are closely interrelated and generally all done with substantial overlap. During design, it is often
necessary to verify the correctness or workability of the proposed design. One important verification
method is to build working prototypes of parts of the system to ensure that it will function correctly
in the operating environment. Every system must have sufficient controls to protect the integrity of
the database and the application program. These controls should be integrated into the new system
while it is being designed, not after it has been constructed (Chapter 2, 2004). Success The Project

Reel Injun Stereotypes
Reel Injun and Misrepresentation and Native Stereotyping on Screen
Misrepresentation of Natives on screen throughout the 20th century has had an adverse effect on
them. Whether it was positive or negative stereotypes, Natives felt the effect of Hollywood and
began to lose their self identity, their honour, and their pride. Reel Injun takes a look at how
movies have defined an entire race and also documents the rebirth of the Native identity after
decades of destructive Hollywood movies by interviewing notable Native actors, actresses, and
activists. By doing so, director Neil Diamond hopes to silence Hollywood stereotypes and get
Hollywood to properly represent the Native people.
Hollywood s early depictions of Natives consisted of tribesmen and noble savages who are in tune
with Nature. Films such as The Silent Enemy portray these stereotypes on screen with actors like
Chief Buffalo Child Long Lance being shown as tribesmen who are very noble Natives. Although
these stereotypes are positive, they are still stereotypes nonetheless. These stereotypes have caused

helped to illustrate this image to viewers at the time. As a result, many Americans believed
Natives were all uncivilized and violent, leading to nationwide stereotyping and prejudice. The

animals, which sends the image of them being non human and thus they should be treated as such.
Stagecoach and movies like it mispresented Natives for decades and caused a loss of identity
amongst the Native community because Natives were dressed the same throughout various films. It

A Strong Response Reflective Essay
Strong Response Reflective essay
You are confined only by the walls you build yourself, such a short phrase with an enormous
meaning. Isolation is increasing immensely in my life since social media is taking such a huge roll
in it. I notice the continuous blank stare at my phone as I roam the halls of Florida International
University. It s like my social anxiety is a broken leg and my cellphone is my crutch. My
cellphone brings me so much comfort, although I am comforted, I feel so disconnected with the
world. Learning is much easier through social media websites. I am so anti social not only around
school, but with myself. Bringing me to the conclusion that social media is a negative impact in my
daily life for more than one reason. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After a few weeks, I decide that it is time to put my phone down and begin to make more
connections. For the first time, I walk around Graham Center with a smile on my face. I am
ready to start conversations I have urged to begin with my FIU peers and professors. I feel this
explosion of happiness as questions, conversations, and sign up sheets are being thrown my
way. To my astonishment, these students are taking an interest in me because my eyes aren t
locked to my cellphone. Jessica Winter states Instagram messes more with your sense of time
and I couldn t agree more. I have been wasting precious time on social media that I can use to
grow my circle here at FIU instead. Filters and likes are all people seek on social media, but my
thumbs and mind take over me and give them what they want. This time it seems someone is
letting me borrow a spare key to unlock the handcuffs that chain my cellphone and I together.
Sitting down in class, I witness my professor coming through the door. He is ready to bring us
new information that I can t seem to understand sometimes. As our professor gets more in depth
with our lesson, hands are preparing to launch like a rocket ship. These students are ready to blast
off with questions that they plead answers for. I quietly say to myself that there is no need to raise
my hand during class. Out of the forty students, why would my professor choose me when I have a

Costa Rica Comparison
Costa Rica is an absolutely beautiful country. It is full of tropical flowers, trees, fruits, and
animals. The waters are the bluest of blue and the landscape is the greenest that I have ever seen.
There are also beautiful volcanos and mountain ranges throughout Costa Rica. It was extremely
fascinating to me how different Costa Rica is compared to the United States not only in looks but
also in culture and history. Geography While in Costa Rica my team visited the cities of San Jose,
Limon, Talamanca, and Puerto Viejo. All of these cities lie on the southeastern side of Costa Rica
next to the Caribbean Sea. The differences in the beaches was extremely interesting to me. While

Here in the United States our culture is fairly consistent. When one visits another state there may
be some differences in the way things are done, but definitely not drastic differences in culture.
While my team was in Costa Rica I felt as if I had visited three different countries. The cultures
of San Jose, Talamanca, and Puerto Viejo are completely different. When my team arrived in
San Jose the first thing that I noticed was the culture. It was completely different from the
United States. The people were extremely inviting and accepting. The city was not as loud as a
city in the United States either. There were no sirens or horns honking. In fact, most cars were
off the road by about eight o clock in the evening. According to Pedro, our guide and translator,
most Costa Rican s go to sleep around nine in the evening and start their day around five in the
morning. Talamanca was extremely laid back. It reminded me a lot of a Mennonite community.
Most people in the village did not drive cars but instead rode horses. Ninety percent of their food is
home grown including fruits, vegetables, and butter. There is a truck that comes through the village
every morning with chicken and fresh eggs, but other than that their meat is caught. The people of
Talamanca look out for each other. It is extremely community oriented, but also nature oriented. For
example, while the team was walking on the beach we stopped

Essay on My Experience with Racism
Elvis A Navarro BLS 245 September 23, 2008 My Personal experiences with Racism Racism has
always been a big topic in society, even during Jesus Christ time. I believe racism comes from
independent thinking and views and how this view from family, friends and society forms us
each day. Racism has to do a lot with social status, money, power, looks, sex and much more.
Coming from a third world country I can really see the major differences of racism how they
vary by culture and education. My experience in the United States as a young boy has formed my
racism definition and view of society in general. One of the biggest influences in my life is my

The Impact Of The Scientific Revolution On History
The Scientific evolution and it s impact on History
The Scientific Revolution is one of the most history changing events in earth s 4.543 Billion years
of existence. On 1543 In early Europe, A scientist named Nicholas Copernicus came up with the
theory that the stars and planets revolve around the sun rather than the sun revolving around the
planets and stars. This kicked off the start to the infamous scientific revolution. With this spark in
Science and history, other scientists and people were eager to come up with scientific conclusions.
Two other examples of contributors of the scientific revolution are Edward Jenner and, Gabriel
Daniel. These three men all made an impact on the scientific revolution and changed the way us as
humans live ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He was the one to prove that the galaxy s planets travel around the sun rather than the sun revolving
around our galaxy s planets. Mr.Jenner found this theory legible by stating and discovering that the
sun is stationary and if the sun moved around earth, earth s climate would be changing rapidly since
the sun is heating the earth without the earth s control. This left a huge impact on history and
astronomy because other scientists like Galieo began to study space which led to many shocking
discoveries about the infinite solar system. This also strengthened the Scientific revolution because
of its vast popularity and controversy Due to the monarchs strict no free thinking rules that were
enforced heavily.
Another huge impact on the scientific revolution is Edward Jenner. Edward Jenner saved
millions of Europeans by creating a vaccine for smallpox disease. Jenner was noticing a rise in
smallpox in europe and it was killing people left and right. This left Jenner very curious to come
up with an effective disease for the widespread Smallpox. So in 1796, Jenner revealed the
smallpox vaccine. This vaccine had a major impact on science and medicine because the vaccine
stopped the spread and inspired other scientists to think about other diseases that a vaccine can be

In Everything That Rises Must Converge by Flannery O Connor, is a story of racial domestic
violence between Julian s mother and an African American woman who is trying to keep her son
away from her. The story is in a third person point of view which means none of the characters is
the narrator, however, it does show Julian s thoughts during the story. The third person narrator
focuses on Julian, his mother, and their relationship which is a parasitic relationship [that]
establishes the prototype for parent and child figures (Winn 192). Julian, despite being an adult, still
lives with his mother and has a childlike attachment to her. His mother has a deep connection of her

society in her era, which African Americans roam free. In her opinion, she thinks they should be a
lower class than her. Her signs of disgust are shown when she tells Julian of her Grandfather s
plantation after an African Americanman enters the bus with a newspaper. When the man sits
down and reads, the mother exclaims to Julian that Now you see why I won t ride on these
buses by myself (O Connor 452). She does feel sorry for. . . the ones that are half white (O
Connor 449), because they have no place to belong in society. She does get annoyed by her son
s behavior when he loosens his tie and asks the African American man for a match. Julian s
mother does have hope for Julian that he will become a writer and keeps reminding him that
Rome wasn t built in a day (O Connor 448). She is so focused on her past that she can t
comprehend that depth to which its loss has affected her, and she repeats the narrative in order to re
establish the historical boundaries of her identity (Williamson 751). The narrator shows that she
adores young African American children, even though, her son tries to warn her not to give a penny
to the boy. After being punched by the African American mother, she is in shock and extreme
confusion to why it happened. Wanting to go Home (O Connor 457) where her grandfather s
plantation was, she immediately retreats to her historical fantasy

Nation-State In Medieval Europe
What is a nation state? A nation state is defined as a type of political organization in which a group
of relatively homogenous people live in one area under one government, and its development
actually traces back to the Middle Ages. Medieval Europe was unified by the Roman Catholic
Church, a powerful, but corrupt, institution. This corruption, coupled with the Renaissance spirit,
led to increasing dissatisfaction with the Church and sparked the beginnings of the Protestant
Reformation. These revolutionary ideas created conflicts between rulers, especially the triumph of
the Protestant German princes over Charles V in 1555, which laid the foundations for the first true
nationstates, France, Germany, and Italy, centuries later.

The Social Justice Issues Of The Media Of A White Officer...
Throughout the past couple of years there have been many social justice issues coming to the
forefront of everyone s attention. Some of the most popular examples include Baltimore, Ferguson
and Charleston, although there are countless other ones spread throughout the country. These are
some of the most popular ones because of how much media attention they received, but was all that
attention really a good thing? I believe that while these issues needed to be brought to everyone s
attention, the way that the media portrayed the situations did not help too much, it may have even
hindered these issues. The way that the media portrayed certain groups of people further led to
feelings or personal justification of racismand oppression. In... Show more content on

Many of the people in Ferguson felt that this young man was fatally shot based off the color of his
skin, and that this would not have happened if he was white. In fact, there is a large amount of
African American individuals who believe that officers are morally bankrupt (Mcwhorter, 2014).
This position is taken by countless communities across America (Mcwhorter 2014).
This plays a huge role in how the environment affected this man s life. If there had not have been
so much racial tension happening in Ferguson then this situation probably would never have
happened, or at least to the extent that it happened. Mistrust of law enforcement leads to many
issues such as even greater issues with the police when problems arise due to troubled history
with them. African Americans in this community may not want to ask law enforcement for help
when they are the leading group of arrests and longest prison sentences (Madrigal, 2014). The
officer fatally shooting this young man was the last straw for a fair amount of people in this town.
I believe that if the officer was doing what he believed was right, and not making judgements on
the young man for the color of his skin, then he was just doing his job and it turned out to be a
horrible situation. With all the differing stories that are taking place in the media surrounding that
aspect of it this will be a hard situation to fully comprehend. There are obviously undercurrents

St Wren Cathedral Essay
This research is going to address The Cathedral of Saint Paul building which has been in existence,
in various buildings since 1841. St. Paul s Cathedral, which was designed by the architect Sir
Christopher Wren, is one of the commonest iconic Anglican Cathedral buildings. It is the tallest
structure in London since its completion in 1710 till 1967 and it is the seat of the Bishopof London
and is devoted to Paul, the Apostle. It dates back to the original church on the site. Wren was
inspired by contemporary Renaissance trends in Italian architecture, and designed the cathedral in a
restrained Baroque style, attempting to combine the traditions of English medieval cathedrals with
the classical style of Inigo Jones and French buildings by Mansart. St. Paul s is unusual among
cathedrals in that it has a crypt which extends under the entire building rather than just under the
eastern end. The most important feature is the dome which is also among the highest in the world.

A Research On Studying And Learning And Knowledge Obtained...
Research is a goal an individual aims to discover, learn, observe, and ultimately write about. It is
a practice of pursuing the process of discovering knowledge on a specific topic. I once told
someone what I find to be intriguing to me and they also told me what they unearth to be
fascinating. They appear to have squandered too much time on the issue, but, I was young then
and seem to be new to his universe of knowledge. Their advice was doing a researchin order to
uncover everything about the subject until I feel I am the expert. That wasn t all, and then I was
to study and discover some more knowledge with regard to it. I was quite frustrated with that
advice because I would like to spend only a week on studying. Will, here I am, finally
endeavoring to carry out that concept of research and discovery through studying and learning
some more on the subject I would like to become an expert on. Research in general supports the
same concept of learning and knowledge obtained from constant education. Advance research in
graduate level has a set standard, strategy, and methodology to keep abreast. Once the individual
has discovered what topic holds his/her interest, after that comes the selection of research
methodology. This is the planning stage of the process. The researcher has two options, the
qualitative or quantitative approach. Simply, the researcher can choose to apply both
methodologies in a mix method or can choose to use each, individually. Each of

Factors That Affect Our Soil Quality And Increase Som Is...
From a practical point of view, anionic polyacrylamide (PAM) has been commonly used as a soil
conditioner to reduce erosion by clay flocculation and binding particles and stabilizing the outer
aggregate surfaces. Moreover, PAM is highly resistant to microbial degradation, with a
decomposition rate of в€
ј10% yr 1, which has led to its efficient use as a soilconditioner for long
periods. Wu et al. (2012) revealed that PAM showed a minor effect on 14C allocation in plant
parts and soil in a short term 14C labeling study. Except the observations of PAM
biotransformation, little information is available on the PAM efficiency on the microbial
activity in soils. In contrast, the agronomic benefits of biochar (BC) application to improve soil
quality and increase SOM is growing. Applying BC improves the physicochemical properties of
soil and maintains C and N sources, owing to a pronounced increase in plant growth and yield.
Moreover, wood biochar decreased the soil bulk density and enlarged diameter of aggregates,
thereby reducing soil loss. However, little is known about the effect of BC on soil microbial
populations and activities. BC or PAM showed minor effect on the decomposition of SOM based
on CO2 evolution because of the stability of these conditioners. A high portion of 14C maize
residues were stabilized in the soil after adding BC and PAM as the binders by the occlusion of
labile residue C into aggregates. Understanding the short term dynamics of C caused by PAM or

In the case of PC you have multiple companies creating the vessels in which the Microsoft
operating system is in use, so right here we already have an issue with compatibility because
there is no communication between these two different companies. Secondly when Microsoft

the software, so one group will work on peripheral compatibility and created the coding for that
and other group will have created the security system, well since these two departments are not
working together the coding created is often in contradiction to each as witnessed with the

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Temp
As the case study eluded to there are many advantages to hiring temps but there are also some
complications that come with it as well. As the study mentioned, one of the advantages of the
situation is the amount you could save in wages and benefits. The average wages for a temp
were $14.59 and the average benefits were $18.90, compared to permanent employees with an
average per hour cost of $24.19 for wages and $10.95 for benefits. (Denisi, 2017) Although, these
costs are a major advantage in the long run, I think it s worth mentioning that there are still costs
associated with this policy. For one, many companies go through a temp agency to avoid having
to sort through all the resumes. According to Petersen (2017), many agencies charge a
percentage of the hourly wage paid to the employee. Also sometimes they will charge to run
background checks and other costs associated with the pre hiring process. Its recommended to
do research and find a quality temp agency to reduce costs. Also, a journal done by Judy
GreenWald (2017), had law experts explain that the use of temp workers invite exposure,
especially if not done right. Enzo Der Boghossian, who is an associate with law firm of Proskauer
Rose L.L.P., strongly urges that an elaborate agreement should be written up to protect the business
from liability. For example, a doctrine should be written up stating that the employees are still
legally employees of the Temp agency. But according to some court cases there are still

Everyone who used the web undoubtedly have seen URL as a sight word in the internet world,
and also have used URLs to get web pages and access websites. Actually, most of people term
URL as website address habitually and think of an URL as the name of a file on the World Wide

unique physical address of every build on the earth that helps people to locate the accurate place.
However, it is not the entire understanding of URL. URLs could also lead to other resources on the

Turritopsis Dohrnii
People in western culture fear death. Which when you start to think about it is kind of odd. But
throughout history there have been many ways to improve our life spans from medicine to
surgery, But so far there have only been legends of ways to make yourself live for ever. How
ever one really real way of doing this is in the Mediterranean sea and it s a blob of jelly. The
Turritopsis Dohrnii is a jellyfish that can live forever. Other than the ability to live for ever it s
really not that special. Having up to 90 tentacles only 4.5mm in width it s smaller than your
fingernail. It was discovered in the Mediterranean Sea, but has been in areas as far away as japan.

Some of their other cells turn into lens cells. Now how the Immortal jellyfish does this is quite
different because it changes its entire body structure. What it does is when it s injured, hungry or

Belbin Project Management Essay
As a professional Civil Engineer, with a dense experience in project management, I would

living, Chris Gardner is a salesman who sells bone density scanners. Eventually he figured out
that nobody wanted to buy it because it is a luxury device in the medical business. Sometime in
the beginning of the movie, there is a scene where we see Chris Gardner approaching and trying to
talk to Mr.Twistle. We see a long shotof them both which shows us that they both are dressed in
suits, which means that they both might be office workers. The long shot then drifts and
became a mid shot. The director could have purposely done that to show that Mr.Twistle is in a
hurry and has no time to speak with Chris. Chris Gardner and Mr.Twistle got in the same cab.
While they are in the same taxi together, we see that Chris is talking to Mr.Twistle but the close
up of Mr.Twistle s face shows that he s not interested in what Chris is saying. This is because
Twistle is just playing with a Rubik s cube. We then see an over the shoulder shot which shows
that it could mean that Chris is desperately wanting to talk to Mr.Twistle. Mr.Twistle then says to
Chris I m sorry, this thing is impossible. The extreme close up of Chris s face shows that he is
determined to do whatever it takes to talk to Mr.Twistle . Again, in the taxi part of the scene we
are only really shown mid shots and close

Video Games Promote Violence And Sexual Aggression
Over the past few decades, video games have rapidly evolved from simple games like Pac Man
and Tetris to complex interactive media platforms popular with people of all ages. As video games
skyrocketed in popularity, so have public attention and research studies alongside them. The
controversial issue of video games promoting violenceor sexual aggression is currently still being
hotly debated by educated people from both sides of the argument. However, there is
compelling evidence which proves that themes of violence in video games do indeed affect
violent tendencies in the real world, including but not limited to forms of sexual aggression
towards women due to the objectification of female characters in video games. In Grand Theft
Auto V, players are awarded a prostitute s money once they kill her and forced to enact a torture
session on someone to extract information from him; in the Call of Duty Franchise, players are
prompted to gun down and bomb innocent civilians. These games are only a few examples of
exposure to violence in a rising media form. Considering that upward[s] of 90 percent of
American children between the ages of 2 and 17 play video and computer games regularly (Funk,
1993), the high content of violence in video games should be re evaluated. Though not all violence
in video games is depicted seriously, most of the top selling video games (89%) [contain] violent
content (Knowles et. al, 2001). There have been thousands of studies indicating a

Analysis Of The Haunting Of The Sunshine Girl
The Haunting of the Sunshine Girl is a thrilling book by Paige Mckenzie. It explores the theme that
nothing has to be done alone. Everything started on Sunshine Griffith s sixteenth birthday,
throughout the year Sunshine has been faced with a series of tests followed with her new powers.
Every since she was young, Sunshine knew she was adopted, but who has she inherited these
powers from? While Sunshine s life changes forever, the people she loves change affecting
everything. The whole storyis described in detail affecting the imagery, characters and the two point
of views.
The characters in The Haunting of the Sunshine Girl have similar personalities to one another.
Sunshine s character seems a little dull. Besides her luiseach power Sunshine Griffith could be
considered as a stereotypical nerd character; quiet, smart, and unlike other people. It could be hard
for the readers to connect with the main character on a personal level because the author has failed
to describe Sunshine s unique personality. Most characters in this novel have some stereotypical
features, but they all have a surprising characteristic to them. Most characters followed the luiseach
journey along with Sunshine from the beginning, and were there to help her. Sunshine s classmate,
Nolan, was Sunshine s partner throughout the discovery of Sunshine s powers. He was labelled as
her protector through this journey. They discovered most secrets together. Readers would have

Breast Feeding Across Cultures
Breast feeding has been in practice for a very long time, as early as 2000 BC. Before the
invention of formula, bottles, and pumps this was the safest most common way for a mother to
feed their infants. In fact, for 99% of human history breast milk was the sole source of nutrition
for children until the age of two. In today s society there are many different and opposing
personal stand points on where or not a mother should breast feed their children. It is a very
controversial topic with many variables. In breast feeding there are several benefits, reasons, and

The formula in today s society is much more advanced and acceptable. Another reason is that
breast feeding is painful and time consuming. Another common reason to not breast feed is that
many women want to return to work and not be limited to the places they can go such as
restaurants and stores that do not allow breast feeding. There is historical evidence of this all over
the world. In Israel around 2000 BC, children were deemed a blessing, and breastfeeding was
considered a religious obligation. Breastfeeding was not always possible, however, due to lactation
failure of the mother In Greece around 950 BC, women of higher social status frequently
demanded wet nurses. Wet nurses were women that were paid to breast feed new babies when
their biological mothers were not able to accomplish it. Breast feeding a child was widely
accepted as the thing to do and even though it was uncomfortable and inconvenient many mothers
took part in it. It was also common for fathers to watch the process and in turn it was a bonding
experience for the whole family and eventually, wet nurses acquired a position of accountability and
authority. The Bible even notes various examples of wet nurses
At the climax of the Roman Empire, between 300 BC and 400 AD, written contracts were formed
with wet nurses to feed orphaned or unwanted infants which were mostly females thrown out. The
wealthy purchased the infant as an inexpensive slave for future use, and the wet nurses, who were

The No Child Left Behind
We, as a country, have some of the lowest scoring in international tests in reading, math, and
science when compared to several other countries. In order to improve education in America, we
have to go to the root of our problem in the school system and find better ways to enforce new rules
and regulations that wouldn t be detrimental to both students, schools, and educators alike. The No
Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act is having a negative effect on our educationsystem because it
reduces the choices of schools for parents, and the distribution of qualified teachers. It also has a
negative impact on the amount that kids are able to learn in school. The NCLB was signed into law
in 2001 by President George W. Bush. The act is was meant to give assistance in establishing
good reading and math programs. Programs such as reading first funded at $1.02 billion in 2004
were made to help states and their districts set up scientific, research based reading programs for
students in K 3 grades by having districts compete for federal money (Editorial Projects in
Education Research Center 8). Billions of dollars had been put towards programs like reading first
but much of that said money has either been cut or never reach the set target goal of promised
money. Despite the intention to increase student academic achievement, the act has failed to do so
in several cases arguably putting us in a worse situation than before. Proficiency requirements was

Form Of Government In The 17th And 18th Century
For over 5,000 years of human civilization, there has always been a need for societal structure and
stability. People developed governments in order to guarantee that structure and stability are
present within the region. While there are various forms of government, some are more effective
than others. Yet the effectiveness of that form of governmentis mostly dictated by the time period it
is being used in. Even though democracyis widely regarded as the best form of governmentin the
21st century, the same cannot be said for the 17th and 18th centuries. The most effective form of
government for the 17th and 18th centuries in Europe is absolutism because of the power of
religious unity, the importance of fear, and the focus of the overall well being of the state.
Where democracy falls short is in the power of religious unity. Democracy promotes secular
values which would have been extremely unsuccessful at the time while the very foundation of
absolutism is based on a religious concept called the theory of The Divine Right of Kings. As
explained by King James I of England in 1609, the theory of The Divine Right of Kings states
that for kings are not only God s lieutenants upon Earth, and sit upon God s throne, but even by
God himself they are called gods. The theory explains that the King was sent from God and is
accountable to nobody but God. This connection between religion and policy allows for unanimous
agreement for any course of action. In the 17th and 18th

Notes On Twins And Nature Vs Nurture

Psychology 101
Twins and Nature versus Nurture What makes identical or fraternal twins different from each
other? A few people might say it depends on how their parents raised them, others might say that
other forces such as what traits personality wise, they inherited from their family could have an
effect on their way they are. This in so many words in called Nature versus Nurture. This is an
interesting concept, especially involving twins and their behaviors, because they have the same
DNA and studies might show better results rather than using regular siblings, with different genes
versus twins who have the same exact DNA.
From my personal experience as an identical twin, my sister Alexandra and I were raised together
our entire lives and we would do anything to be different from each other. If she cut her hair I
would grow mine out, etcetera. Our personalities are very different as well, we had the same
group of friends, but we had hardly any classes together in idle school and high school. I was into
sports such as cross country, tennis and track, Alex was into her art classes and liked to make
people laugh. There was another set of twins in our high school so similar to each other that their
names were even Brittani and Brandi. They had the same style of clothing, hairstyles and didn t do
a lot of extracurricular activities. This is out of the norm for twin studies because their parents both
raised them together. So what

This paper will also discuss what stance Rivlin should take regarding political patronage and how
she should manage the situation. Finally, this paper will address which organizational structure she

Some major power players in Rivlin s appointment and confirmation on the House side were
Chairman Al Ullman and then Rep. Brock Adams. On the Senate side, Chairman of the Senate
Budget Committee, who recommended Rivlin, Edmund Muskie was a major influence in her
appointment.
One of the first things Rivlin did was bringing on Robert Reischauer, a fellow economist from the
Brookings Institute, as her right hand man at CBO. She also reviewed the Budget Act, which
specified what CBO was charged, which was relatively short. Therefore CBO had considerable
freedom under the legislation since both the Senate and House had no clue what they wanted from
their new budget shop. This provided Rivlin an enormous opportunity to look at other models of
how to structure CBO. She could model CBO after other sister agencies like the General
Accounting Office (GAO), Congressional Research Service (CRS), the former Office of
Technology Assessment (OTA), Office of Management and Budget(OMB), or the Joint Committee
on Internal Revenue Taxation Staff. Some suggestions were to organize CBO along functional lines
with policy areas like defense or human resources in separate divisions each containing a numbers
and analysis subdivision. Another suggestion was to spread the numbers function all around to
enable program divisions with a focus on customer relations. But Rivlin also had to be aware of
political patronage. Both Congressmen and

No Taxation Without Representation - Revolutionary...
The demand for no taxation without representation was the primary force motivating the American
revolutionary movement, and for many it became a symbol for democracy. Throughout the late
18th century, the British colony of America was oppressed by Parliament from across the pond .
This oppression included unequal rights compared to English citizens that lived on the mainland,
unneeded taxation, and no representation in Parliament, which resulted in many laws that were
unfavorable to the American colonists. It was this taxation without representation that was a
powerful catalyst in firing up the American revolutionary movement. America was all grown up ,

claimed that the Stamp act was needed in order to help defray the cost of keeping British troops

because the French were out of North America, and they no longer needed protection. Instead, this
Act was viewed as a tax solely to make money for England: A right to impose an internal tax on the

anyone that disobeyed these laws was tried in the admiralty courts, were juries were not allows, and

It is after this that the colonists realized that they were being used by England, and began their cry
of no taxation without representation! Parliament had thought that it was making easy money off
of the colonies; instead it had started the fire of rebellion burning, and the Stamp Act was soon

Therefore, the company hired Carlos Ghosn as the new CEO of the group. He quickly established
a new strategy for Renault and he also wanted to implement a brand oriented strategy of a more
global perspective than before.
In February 2014, Carlos Ghosn presented his mid term review of the strategic plan for the group.

Assess whether they are appropriate for the effective management of enterprise wide risks
As I mentioned above, suicides at Renault marked the minds of management team, but not only
from a human point of view, also from a marketing point of view.
Indeed another suicide took place on the workplace at Renault Cleon near Rouen (France), the
employee left a note before his suicide that said: Thank you Renault, thank you for the years of
pressure, blackmail to work at night... Where the right to strike does not exist, do not protest or you
will receive threats...
Renault denied all charges about this case. Since the current crisis at Renault and the new director,
all seems less politicized .
Orders come mainly from new director, and he has almost full power to turn everything around,
including more complex cadences of restructuration taking crisis apologize.
Renault previously was seen as a model for workers with many unions and full use, with many
advantages.
Since this new direction, multiple suicides occurred, and more strikes appear to denounce the
destruction of hundreds jobs.
Previously the dialogue between unions and management was cordial, it is now almost

My Two Diverse Aspects Of Bullying And Ringette
For someone who has gone through quite a bit, bullying and ringette have been my two biggest
aspects in my life. Up until grade ten I went to school in Charlottetown. I was the description of a
loner until grade 4 when my teacher decided to place me with a group of girls she thought I d be
good with. In my opinion, these girls were like god, I worshipped them I followed them around
like a lost puppy, after a while the girls saw that and then they became my bullies. My familyand I
were put through torture for six years. After a period of time, it got so bad that I started faking
sick just so I wouldn t have to go to school. Every day I feared that I would be hurt either mentally
or physically by these girls. When I started playing ringette

Steve Jobs History
History has proven to be a never ending cycle in which innovation and technology revolutionize
societies; the year 1975 was the beginning of one of these cycles.[footnoteRef:1] During this year,
a young hippie college dropout named Steve Jobs met his best friend Steve Wozniak (Woz), the
two of them set out on a mission to build the world s first affordable and portable computer. This
meant that they would open a new market sector, which undoubtedly be eyed by companies such as
IBM who at the time was the dominant company in the computing sector.[footnoteRef:2] Jobs was
an incredible marketer, he had the amazing ability to sell anything he put his mind to. Job s is still
viewed as one of the greatest marketers of all times.[footnoteRef:3] This... Show more content on

The FBI believes that Apple should break into their own device to provide the government
access to personal information in the event of a murder or a terrorist attack. However, the way
that Apple has designed their phone this task is incredibly difficult. Apple would need to
reengineer their software to create a backdoor into the system and give the FBI the key to that
back door.[footnoteRef:16] The primary problem with having a backdoor is that it makes the
phone vulnerable to skilled hackers. Apple is worried that this would jeopardize their entire
client base and that it could be an overstep of the Federal Government. However, the FBI and
Apple s case somewhat disintegrated when the FBI sought outside help in cracking the phone s
password.[footnoteRef:17] The FBI successfully managed to crack the password on the phone
which sparked outrage at many of the major tech companies. Since this case, Apple along with
other large tech companies have been hiring hackers to try and break into their devices to expose
flaws in their security measures. Although this means the FBI s workaround will eventually be
covered up it puts a temporary rest to their battle over security. [16: FBI Requests Unlocking of

An Unspoken Cycle That Determines The Success
When talking about inequality, it should be mentioned that there is an unspoken cycle that
determines the success of the average individual. The cycle goes as follows: education in most
cases directly affects the type of job you have. The type of job you have affects your wealth,
which in turn affects your ability to buy a house (mortgage or not) in a quality area. The quality of
the area, then affects the type of educationyou get. This is a cycle that while was once racist, now
unintentionally constrains people to the same socioeconomic class as the one they were born
into. It just so happens that due to the previous intentions, many African Americans are trapped in
a low socioeconomic class and are unable to advance. In fact, America today according to a few
large studies, is less mobile (moving up in socioeconomic class) than other comparable nations.
One study for example found that around 42% of American men who were brought up in the
bottom fifth of American incomes, stayed there throughout their lives. This same study found that
only around 8% of American men gained access to the top fifth from the bottom, a number lower
than others like the Danes or the British ( Harder for Americans to Rise From Lower Rungs ).
Unfortunately, minorities in America are at the largest disadvantage economically due to this
cycle. From the very beginning of this cycle, specifically African Americans were legally forced to
be separated from the rest of America because of the Jim

Demographic Profile for France, 1985 and 2012
Fertility Section
Introduction
France s low fertility is in line with its status as a developed country. Its citizens are well aware of
the value of family planning and contraceptives. France s fertility rates have remained relatively
stable between 1985 and 2012 and have also stayed close to replacement levels. The most
noticeable changes have been the extending of the peak fertility years from the 25 29 age range to
the 25 35 age range. The main factors that affect fertility in France are the high availability of
contraceptives and the social norms governing family planning.
Fertility Structure In 1985 there are relatively few births to women below the age of 15, with only
66 live births recorded. The age specific fertility rate for women below the age of 15 is .03 live
births per 1000 women. For ages 15 19 the age specific fertility rate is much higher at 11.55 live
births per 1000 women. The age specific fertility rate continues to rise in the 20 24 age range, with
97.18 live births per 1000 women. As shown in Figure 1, fertility peaks in the 25 29 age range with
142.51 live births per 1000 women. In the 30 34 age range we begin to see a rapid decline in
fertility, with only 78.67 live births per 1000 women. It drops further with 29.75 live births per
1000 women aged 35 39 and 6.15 live births per 1000 women aged 40 44. For the age ranges 45 49
and 50 54 the combined age

  • 2. A Free Trade Agreement ( Fta ) A free trade agreement (FTA) is a binding trade agreement signed two or more countries to agree on mutual granting of tariff preferences and reduction of non tariff trade barriers in goods and services. In order to deepen the economic integration of the signatory countries, the FTA also incorporates issues of access to new markets, other regulatory issues related to trade, such as intellectual property, investment, competition policy, financial services, telecommunications, electronic commerce, labor and environmental provisions and mechanisms of trade protection and dispute settlement. FTAs have an indefinite term, that is, to remain in force over time so they have in perpetuity. The free tradeagreements bring benefits which are related not only commercial aspects but are positive for the economy as a whole: can reduce and often eliminate non tariff and tariff barriers to trade; contribute to improving the competitiveness of companies (since it is possible to provide raw materials and machinery at lower costs); facilitate the increased flow of foreign investment, by providing certainty and stability over time investors. Economy is a huge topic that looks to analyze the extraction, production and use of goods. Through human history trade has been a form and part of economy. Whether it was positive or negative stereotypes, Natives felt the effect of Hollywood and began to lose their self identity, their honour, and their pride. Reel Injun takes a look at how movies have defined an entire race and also documents the rebirth of the Native identity after decades of destructive Hollywood movies by interviewing notable Native actors, actresses, and activists. By doing so, director Neil Diamond hopes to silence Hollywood stereotypes and get Hollywood to properly represent the Native people. Hollywood s early depictions of Natives consisted of tribesmen and noble savages who are in tune with Nature. A nation state is defined as a type of political organization in which a group of relatively homogenous people live in one area under one government, and its development actually traces back to the Middle Ages. This corruption, coupled with the Renaissance spirit, led to increasing dissatisfaction with the Church and sparked the beginnings of the Protestant Reformation. From a practical point of view, anionic polyacrylamide (PAM) has been commonly used as a soil conditioner to reduce erosion by clay flocculation and binding particles and stabilizing the outer aggregate surfaces. Moreover, PAM is highly resistant to microbial degradation, with a decomposition rate of в€ ј10% yr 1, which has led to its efficient use as a soilconditioner for long periods. Wu et al. (2012) revealed that PAM showed a minor effect on 14C allocation in plant parts and soil in a short term 14C labeling study. Except the observations of PAM biotransformation, little information is available on the PAM efficiency on the microbial activity in soils. In contrast, the agronomic benefits of biochar (BC) application to improve soil quality and increase SOM is growing. Applying BC improves the physicochemical properties of soil and maintains C and N sources, owing to a pronounced increase in plant growth and yield. Moreover, wood biochar decreased the soil bulk density and enlarged diameter of aggregates, thereby reducing soil loss. However, little is known about the effect of BC on soil microbial populations and activities. BC or PAM showed minor effect on the decomposition of SOM based on CO2 evolution because of the stability of these conditioners. (Denisi, 2017) Although, these costs are a major advantage in the long run, I think it s worth mentioning that there are still costs associated with this policy. For one, many companies go through a temp agency to avoid having to sort through all the resumes. Video Games Promote Violence And Sexual Aggression Over the past few decades, video games have rapidly evolved from simple games like Pac Man and Tetris to complex interactive media platforms popular with people of all ages. As video games skyrocketed in popularity, so have public attention and research studies alongside them. The controversial issue of video games promoting violenceor sexual aggression is currently still being hotly debated by educated people from both sides of the argument. However, there is compelling evidence which proves that themes of violence in video games do indeed affect violent tendencies in the real world, including but not limited to forms of sexual aggression towards women due to the objectification of female characters in video games. In Grand Theft Auto V, players are awarded a prostitute s money once they kill her and forced to enact a torture session on someone to extract information from him; in the Call of Duty Franchise, players are prompted to gun down and bomb innocent civilians. These games are only a few examples of exposure to violence in a rising media form. Considering that upward[s] of 90 percent of American children between the ages of 2 and 17 play video and computer games regularly (Funk, 1993), the high content of violence in video games should be re evaluated. People developed governments in order to guarantee that structure and stability are present within the region. While there are various forms of government, some are more effective than others. Yet the effectiveness of that form of governmentis mostly dictated by the time period it is being used in. Even though democracyis widely regarded as the best form of governmentin the 21st century, the same cannot be said for the 17th and 18th centuries. The most effective form of government for the 17th and 18th centuries in Europe is absolutism because of the power of religious unity, the importance of fear, and the focus of the overall well being of the state. Where democracy falls short is in the power of religious unity. Democracy promotes secular values which would have been extremely unsuccessful at the time while the very foundation of absolutism is based on a religious concept called the theory of The Divine Right of Kings. As explained by King James I of England in 1609, the theory of The Divine Right of Kings states that for kings are not only God s lieutenants upon Earth, and sit upon God s throne, but even by God himself they are called gods. Steve Jobs History History has proven to be a never ending cycle in which innovation and technology revolutionize societies; the year 1975 was the beginning of one of these cycles.[footnoteRef:1] During this year, a young hippie college dropout named Steve Jobs met his best friend Steve Wozniak (Woz), the two of them set out on a mission to build the world s first affordable and portable computer. This meant that they would open a new market sector, which undoubtedly be eyed by companies such as IBM who at the time was the dominant company in the computing sector.[footnoteRef:2] Jobs was an incredible marketer, he had the amazing ability to sell anything he put his mind to. Job s is still viewed as one of the greatest marketers of all times.[footnoteRef:3] This... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The FBI believes that Apple should break into their own device to provide the government access to personal information in the event of a murder or a terrorist attack. However, the way that Apple has designed their phone this task is incredibly difficult. Apple would need to reengineer their software to create a backdoor into the system and give the FBI the key to that back door.[footnoteRef:16] The primary problem with having a backdoor is that it makes the phone vulnerable to skilled hackers. Apple is worried that this would jeopardize their entire client base and that it could be an overstep of the Federal Government. However, the FBI and Apple s case somewhat disintegrated when the FBI sought outside help in cracking the phone s password.[footnoteRef:17] The FBI successfully managed to crack the password on the phone which sparked outrage at many of the major tech companies. Since this case, Apple along with other large tech companies have been hiring hackers to try and break into their devices to expose flaws in their security measures. Although this means the FBI s workaround will eventually be covered up it puts a temporary rest to their battle over security. [16: FBI Requests Unlocking of Apple IPhone. In Historic U.S. Events. • 44. An Unspoken Cycle That Determines The Success When talking about inequality, it should be mentioned that there is an unspoken cycle that determines the success of the average individual. The cycle goes as follows: education in most cases directly affects the type of job you have. The type of job you have affects your wealth, which in turn affects your ability to buy a house (mortgage or not) in a quality area. The quality of the area, then affects the type of educationyou get. This is a cycle that while was once racist, now unintentionally constrains people to the same socioeconomic class as the one they were born into. It just so happens that due to the previous intentions, many African Americans are trapped in a low socioeconomic class and are unable to advance. In fact, America today according to a few large studies, is less mobile (moving up in socioeconomic class) than other comparable nations. One study for example found that around 42% of American men who were brought up in the bottom fifth of American incomes, stayed there throughout their lives. This same study found that only around 8% of American men gained access to the top fifth from the bottom, a number lower than others like the Danes or the British ( Harder for Americans to Rise From Lower Rungs ). Unfortunately, minorities in America are at the largest disadvantage economically due to this cycle. From the very beginning of this cycle, specifically African Americans were legally forced to be separated from the rest of America because of the Jim ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
