A study done by Dr. George Reeves (1942) showed that emotional states play an important role
in the quality of people s eating habits. He studies five obese white women. Dr. Reeves
concluded that (a) obesity was used at a defense mechanism (b) these patterns were sadistic and
masochistic (c) oral satisfaction extended beyond social acceptable forms and (d) obesity was
used to simulate a masculine ideal. This study was limited because he had only five cases of
women, and they were all the same race and around the same age. Hirsch and Morse (1960)
presented a study to relate emotions to obesity and establish correlations between metabolic
findings from the obese patients in their study. They brought 74 patients to the Victoria General
Hospital Outpatient Obesity Clinic. The patients were given a questionnaire that was oriented
around their obesity history. The material from the interview were reviewed for symptoms of
emotional distress such as depression, anxiety, delusions, etc. 27 of the 74 patients were judged to
have a diagnosable psychiatric disorder after the questionnaire was completed. This study however
was unreliable because there was no average weighted people to interview as a control, also the
people in the study were unprepared to think abstractly, so the physician guided them throughout

SIP and H323 are two known signalling protocol. SIP was founded by Internet Engineering Task
Force (IETF) while H323 was created by International Telecommunication Union (ITU). However,
SIP is the most one used because it is simple to implement and easy to connected. Due to its simple
implementation and high popularity, SIP is becoming attractive target for many different attackers.
In order to secure SIP against attackers, many security mechanisms have been suggested in the RFC
3261 such as HTTP Digest authentication , TLS, S/MIME. HTPP Digest allow to SIP server to
authenticate the client s identity, however it is discovered vulnerable to many attacks, Then other

Various attacks can be launched by attackers in SIP environment such as DoS attacks, toll fraud
attacks, fishing attacks and SPIT (Spam over IP Telephony). Dos aims to exhaust servers
resources (Memory, CPU..) and bandwidth. This attack can be caused by malformed message or
by flooding attack. In this work we concentrate on flooding attack. To secure SIP against flooding
attacks many works have been done and various approaches have been proposed. However, the

Possession and use of cannabis, also commonly known as marijuana, is considered illegal. For
years marijuana has been an illegal drug in most countries. In today s world a few countries have
legalized cannabis while others are still progressing toward it. In particular, small amount of

United States in particular, states such as Washington and Colorado have also legalized the usage of
marijuana for medical/recreational purposes. On the other hand, numerous penalties are enforced

I found an article that conducted a study to find why bank robberies have increased since 1994.
The focus of the study was focused to the Chicago Police Department and the Chicago Office of the
Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) where the use of statistics of bank robbers, interviewing
bank robbers, and determining what kind of security measures and security equipment was been
used, the gathering of the information was used to gain insight into bankrobbery(Carrol Loch,
(1997).
The study first focused on basic information of bank robberies, by using records that the FBI kept
when investing bank robbery scenes. This information was very helpful in determining the trends of
bank robbers; the investigators gave suggestions to institutions on how to create better security

Reflect on the usefulness of the two tools.
I particularly enjoyed reading all about SCARF, more so than NVC, I think because I can relate
more to it. Perhaps this means I need to work more on NVC? I m not sure because I also like to
think I can politely and correctly communicate with others, usually doing it assertively but in a non
violent way.
The five key elements of SCARF (Status, Certainty, Autonomy, Relatedness, and Fairness) were
perhaps a little more natural to me, than using the NVC process, except for Autonomy, which I have
only just learned about in this unit.
