Lighting Of Lighting And Lighting
The lighting in Showrooms is imperative to take into consideration for the success of a business.
The quality of lighting effects how the products looks, and how clients will perceive it. Ultimately,
lighting effects whether a client will purchase your products or not. Even with the enormous set of
visual environmental cues present in retail environments, lightingdoes play a significant role in
creating an ambiance. This quote by Yvonne De Kort is expressing the importance of lighting in
a retail space and the effects it has on a spaces ambiance. Lighting effects how everyone feels and
changes the ways we interact in spaces. I am going to go through the showrooms I observed and
reflect what I learned about the types of lighting fixtures and lighting layers in showrooms.
RESEARCH
In showrooms it s important to include all form of lighting (general, task, and decorative) into the
space to create a cohesive lighting design that showcases the products that are being lit. Lighting
can be used to direct focus to certain products, and create paths for customers to follow. It is good
to consider the flexibility of the fixtures placed, to allow for adjustment when store displays are
changed. Making sure the color rendering of the lamps is high quality, so the clients know what the
products actually look like. Keeping maintenance easy is important, because products that are not
lighting properly will not sell. Layered lighting techniques must support the plan of the space and

Comparisons and Contrasts of Windows Ce, Windows Xp, and...
Introduction There has been an ongoing battle in recent years within the technology arena between
the relative merits of Microsoft s Windows versus the open source platforms, Linux being one of
them. Typically, discussions center around desktops or servers but an area often overlooked is
embedded systems. Examples of such systems are industrial machines, automobiles, medical
equipment, and specialized devices. With the growing ubiquity of smart devices, the device arena
offers action every bit as intense (LinuxDevices). Both Windows and Linux offer solutions for
specialized areas that include devices such as PDAs or handhelds, mobile phones, audio/video
applications, even robots. Even though Linux has become more unified under Open... Show more

XP Pro x64: Windows XPProfessional x64 (XP Pro x64) is XP Pro on steroids. XP x64 is based on
Windows Server 2003 and supports AMD s AMD64 64 bit extension of the Intel IA 32 architecture
and was released on April 25, 2005 (Wikipedia). One enticing feature of XP Pro x64 is its huge
memory support increase. XP Pro x64 is a 64 bit system rather than the standard 32 bit system of
XP Pro. This 64 bit architecture increases RAM memory limits from 4 gigabytes (GB) to 128 GB
and increases virtual memory from 4 GB to 16 terabytes (TB). System cache also makes a huge
jump from 1 GB to 1 TB. On paper, this would mean the ability to accomplish tasks unheard of
with 32 bit system, if not for some serious downsides. In some real world tests, the promise has
not lived up to the hype, at least not yet. In CNET tests, XP Pro x64 had in fact lower bench tests
when compared to XP Pro (32bit). Furthermore, according to users there exist many compatibility
issues due to lack of suitable drivers as older 32 bit drivers and services are not supported by 64 bit

The Connecticut River, The Common Sewer Overflow And Sewer...
Introduction
In this research paper I will be talking about the Connecticut River, the common sewer overflow
and sewer discharge that goes into the river, I will be focusing on the pollutants that are in the CT
river, I will also focus on the high density towns and the affect it has on them, then I will talk about
the ecological impacts and economical aspects. The Connecticut River is the longest river in the
New England region, it spans through five states Maine (Small portions), Vermont, New
Hampshire, Massachusetts and Connecticut, discharging into the Long island sound. The river
serves more than two million people throughout New England. The main issue with the river is the
untreated storm water and sewer waste that is being discharged into it which causes many harmful
effects not only to the many different species that call the CT River its home, but to the people
that live around the CT River. Combined sewer overflows (CSOs), the discharging of combined
sewer systems directly into surface waters upon capacity overload, are a large source of pollution
of U.S. waterways. A report from the Environment and Connecticut Research and policy center has
said that industrial facilities have discharged 224,029 pounds of toxic waste into the Connecticut
waterways in the year of 2012. There are many government agencies such as the EPA and
committees like the Connecticut River Cleanup Committee that are raising funds and awareness in
order to help clean up the Connecticut River

Decline Of Crime Rates In Canada
Throughout the years, crime rates in Canada s and the United States major cities have decreased
drastically. Regardless of the many factors that lead to increasing crime rates, such as
unemployment, or bad economic circumstances. This essay will examine the many factors leading
to the exponential decline of crimerates in North America. This essay will demonstrate how
unemployment and economic hardship does not always lead to higher crime rates, how the
growing increase of new technology aided in the decrease in crime rates, and the result of
government funded programs helping to reduce crime rate. These factors should be discussed
because it illustrates the progress of the judicial system and federal government throughout the
years and it shows that people most vulnerable to committing crimes may not always commit crime.
Similarly, it shows that economic factors leading to crime in the past are not always the case due to
positive behavioral changes throughout the years.
The general themes of the articles are based on economic factors, technology, the justice system
and people of certain age groups that are most likely to commit crimes, and how they all contribute
to the major decline in crime rates over the years. It is also stating the factors related to the rise in
crime and examining how they exponentially decreased as the world became more modernized. The

How far was the russo Japanese war responsible for the outbreak in Russia 1905?
The Russo Japanese war took place in 1904 to 1905 and began because of both Russia and
Japans desire to expand their borders into places such as Korea. During this war, Russia was
humiliated and had many defeats from a country which were considered to be inferior. The defeat
of this war humiliated the people of Russia and therefore lost confidence in Nicholas II. Russia s
defeat in the war also caused problems in the Military, economic and political problems. This then
means that the Russo Japanese war was partly responsible for the 1905 revolution.
The Russo Japanese war created many huge military defeats which showed the Russian people how

If the Russian people were to turn away, they would have to look somewhere else. Many looked
towards political groups who were prepared to take action. The political implications of the Russo
Japanese war was a major cause of the 1905 Revolution as support left the Tsar and went to
political groups which many believed could take his place.
However, many people believe that the Russo Japanese was not the only cause for the outbreak
of the 1905 revolution. During this period, there were many growing political groups which
many believed would be better than the Tsar because of their more radical thinking. The Russians
mainly supported the Populists the Social Revolutionaries, the Social Democrats and the Liberals.
Throughout the years the groups were slowly providing more opposition to the Tsar and each
other. The most radical, and in some ways successful, group was the Social Revolutionaries (SR).
The SR was heavily against the Tsar and his regimes. They opposed by assassinating many
members of the government including the Minister of the Interior, Plehve in 1904 and Sergei. The
SR became hugely popular due to their radicalism and the fact they are getting closer to their goal
than many other political groups which lead to the public supporting them as opposed to the Tsar
causing the 1905 revolution.
Another big reason why the 1905 revolution was cause was Russia s lack of Political reform

Internal Network Security
Introduction
The development of technology has brought Internet to become the mass communication media
between people or companies. Through Internet, people can communicate with other people in
various places. Companies can get many advantages by using Internet network to support their
business. Therefore, companies are trying as hard as they can, and give high effort in protecting
their network from attack and make sure that they have the best network security.
Most people think that the threat of security attack is only come from outside the company. In fact,
the attack from inside the company network is more harmful with high frequency to be happened.

Developing Secure Internal Network
From all the attacks might threat corporate network either from outside or inside, company must
think critically and fast to maintain the security of its network by building the good network
security design. It is not enough for a company to rely their network security to the firewall only,
since we ve seen that the company network is also vulnerable with inside intrusion.
To build a good internal security system, company must be able to integrate system, by using good
hardware tools that can guarantee the flexibility, easiness to build and easy integration with other
network. Company must also be able to build a good and strong internal security management,
which allow us to control the system centrally. With the central monitoring, we can reduce the costs
of developing the systems. The last tools may work is to integrate the security capabilities. As
described by Cryptek (2001), the good management must be able to distributed user identification
and authentication, distributed firewall capabilities and VPN technologies.

Lynching In African American History
Losing power can take a toll on the mentality of men. American history proves this theory
frequently over time. It s most prominent during the time of reconstruction in the form of
lynching. Lynching is termed as a killing organized and performed by a group or mob of people.
Some justify it as different from murder and get away from it. That is complete ideocracy.
Lynching is just a subcategory or another form of murder but not a different crime in itself in my
opinion. It was a combination of sadism and racismthat white used to subjugate African Americans
because they were afraid to be equal. For many years, Americans were at the top of the social caste
system and something was coming to ruin the system that has worked to their benefit and it was
called African Americanprogression. African Americans were making a life for themselves and the
white man was not having it. Out of fear, Americans, usually those that felt like they were close to
equal to negro status and less educated, started to use lynching as a way to instill fear into the heart
of the Black community. This did not mean that white Americans wouldn t participate in these
celebrations. Together Americans lynched countless black peopleand nigger lovers by burning,
castrating, and dismembering... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Essay about Presidential-Congressional Relations
Presidential Congressional Relations
How does public opinion, presidential patronage, iron triangles, the distribution of power within
congress, and whether the presidents agenda involves, foreign or domestic policy affect the
president s ability to mobilize congressional support for his programs and bills? Are these relations
between the president and congress showing signs of support towards elite or popular
democracy? These are the questions brought to light in this paper and each factor will be
discussed as to why these functions operate as they currently do. Without congressional approval
the president is helpless as to his power to but a bill or a proposal into law. Therefore, it is
mandatory for the president to gain ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The president may chose to hold a press conference, run commercials, hold a fireside chat, or run
a propaganda or slandering campaign in order to bring public opinion over his bill into favor.
Another factor in the president s mobilization of support for a program in congress is presidential
patronage.
Presidential patronage as defined by the president now in office, giving his best supporters or
contributors key positions in office. In order for the president to be able to rally support quickly
and efficiently from the public, having people in offices or positions of influence over many
people is very favorable. As these people who being given patronage jobs for their support of the
president, will feel obligated to show support. Not only can the people the president appointed to
office show their support but they can rally their underlings in office for their support also. This is
a very favorable way for the president to gain momentum with his bill, because these people are
basically guaranteed votes and need only to show their strength to congress to support this idea.
Mixed into the patronage idea are the contributors necessary for most of the funds behind a
campaign. The president has the advantage here, because he can appoint these contributors to
honorary positions. Therefore threatening the individual congressmen with the thought of losing a
valuable contributor for their own campaigns for office (if they go against the president and his

Comparing And Contrasting Christianity And Islam
Comparing and Contrasting Christianity and Islam Religion is a guide to live a life that offers a
fixed set of morals, as well as something to hold onto in times of misfortune and remarkable
miracles. It is something that one will always grasp for, obey, and learn from as they carry on with
their everyday lives. Christianity, which stands as the most practiced religion in the world, and Islam
, which stands second, both portray how something that starts off so small can grow to enormous
proportions and bring abundant rejoice and enlightenment to ones life. Christianity and Islam
differ from each other because one bases its beliefs on the Bible while the other focuses on the
Qur an. One also has seven layers of Hell, while the other does not. The two are similar because
they have analogous outlines of how the human race should live; for Christianity it is the Ten
Commandments and for Islam it is the Five Pillars. Another way they are similar is that both have
judgment take place after death occurs. The writing of the Bible took many years and multiple
authors to portray the teachings of God. On the other hand, Muhammad individually recorded the
Qur an the holy book of Islam. Though Muhammad recorded the Qur an, God was the one that told
him what should be written. Having said this, the two differ immensely. Firstly, Christians believe
that Jesuswas resurrected from the dead after three days. Muslims, on the other hand, believe that

The Radical Feminist View of the Family Essay
The Radical Feminist View of the Family
Feminism is the belief that women are unfairly treated in society and it should be changed in order
to create equality with men. However not all feminists believe the same and there ideas vary.
Radical Feminists believe that it has been built into the way society is structured that men are
allowed to exploit and oppress women. They call this patriarchy. They believe that abuse in the
family is down to men being psychologically warped by centuries of patriarchy into being unable
to accept women as equals. Shulamith Firestone developed a theory in the 1960 s when Radical
Feminists began seeking to overturn what at the time was seen as grotesque and ... Show more

Men control children using physical and psychological abuse but in some case sexual
dominance is used. Therefore Firestone believed that the sexual abuse of women and children
was not about sexual deviance at all but about power. Over the centuries men have become
adapted to the power held over women so find it difficult to accept them as equals. Firestone
decided the only solution to this problem was for women and children to live totally separated
from men, and to even do away with them completely. However today Firestones theories are not
very fashionable, although they do have some truth in them. Violent male partners kill 100 women
a year while only 4 men a year are killed by violent women partners, and most of all child abuse
cases is committed by men.
Liberal Feminists unlike Radical Feminists believe that over time as the old fashioned views have
broken down, many new laws have been changed that help to give women equality and there has
been a steady improvement in women s careers in society.
Functionalist and the New Right are against feminism, as they believe the nuclear family is the
ideal living arrangement as women can stay home and do domestic chores while men go and
provide for the family like it was centuries ago. Ann Widdecome a politician for the New Right
believes strongly in the bible and the messages it provides, so women to have

The Role Of External Factors On Business Models
Module 5: Business Model Generation 2 Samuel Bowers Liberty University BUSI 690 RQ1 The
Role of External Factors in Business Models According to Osterwalder and Piqneur, analysis of
external factors, also called the business environment, contributes to the design of successful
business models. There is a multitude of different factors that will have an impact on which
business model will be chosen, and the greatest will include key trends, market forces, macro
economic forces, and industry forces (Osterwalder Pigneur, 2010, p. 200). As all are considered
external factors, they will influence the environment in which the firm operates. Key trends extend

Hence, flexibility in the business model and internal structure is vitally important. Hasbro is an
example of a company that changed its strategy in response to external conditions. Founded in
1923 by two brothers, Hasbro would spend the first 20 years of operation selling textiles. In
response to changing market conditions, the company diversified into pencils and general
school supplies. It further evolved by manufacturing and selling doctor and nurse kits for
children in 1940. Just two years later Hasbro had transitioned to selling toys exclusively. The
company would go on to produce several highly successful products including Mr. Potato Head,
GI Joe, and Transformers (The Richest, 2014). RQ2 Definition of Business Model Design and

products or services a company sells. It requires the firm to analyze the desires of the customers,
required and available resources, and to subsequently develop a business model in line with these
findings. The ultimate objective of this exercise to create growth and obtain greater profitability.
Business model innovation is derived from one of the four strategic objectives outline the textbook
by Osterwalder and Piqneur. These four objectives include identifying and solving a need which
the market has not resolved, offering a new product or service that customers did not have access

How Does Culture Shape Australian Society
Australian society?
Nature has its own identity, culture and language to which they abide by, only humans demand and

dependent on each other, without either you have no identity. Humanity and religion have set rules

Relationship Between English And Native Americans
The strongly mannered opinions that Englishmen had formed towards the Native Americans during
this time of Early Virginia were very incredulous. The English and Native Americans had a
complicated partnership. Englishmen actually had their first encounter with the Native Americans
in December of 1606, where they were welcomed upon arrival by Native Americans in an attack
towards the Englishmen. Although, the Englishmen perceived the Americans as very prestigious
individuals, they knew even before getting to Jamestown that they would heavily rely on the
Americans for their crops, their land and other helpful resources that the Indians were known for.
While the Englishmen had very poor opinions regarding the Native Americans based on them being
uneducated Conservatives, Native Americans were helpful towards Englishmen in a number of
ways despite their troublesome conflicts towards each other. Prior to arriving in Jamestown,
Englishmen had many different opinions of the Native Americans. The Englishmen knew that they
would have to form a good bond with the Americans if they wanted to keep the peace between
them. Subsequently, they knew they were going to need the Americans help once arriving to
Jamestown. According to The Norton Mix American History, The Englishmen had to form a good
bond with the Natives because knew they were going to need the Native Americans help and that
the English were relying on Native Americans crops for their food, they knew they wouldn t survive

Reflection On The Guide Dogs Of Texas Organization
A noun. Leadership. According to the Oxford English dictionary it is The action of leading a
group of people or an organization. But to me leadership is much more than a blanketed
definition. It evokes more than that. I feel as though I have been through countless leadership
experiences. But none more memorable than being the leader of my own Eagle project. The
project had a focus on puppies and puppy training. The project was for the Guide Dogs of Texas
Organization. My project involved two phases. Cabinets for laundry room storage and puppy
training agility equipment. The first phase was straightforward and done without much hassle.
The Guide Dogs of Texas had a need for laundry storage to help with their newly formed
workload coming from their upcoming litter of puppies. The cabinets would serve to greatly
reduce the efforts required from having to provide the puppies with new sheets at least three
times a day. The second phase was a little more complex. My project coach and I came up with
the idea of constructing agility equipment to help train the puppies into becoming guide dogs. The
equipment that ended up being chosen were a teeter totter, a set of weave poles, and a ladder. The
agility equipment for the puppies would be made out of PVC piping and would be beneficial in
training the puppies in... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Tragedy Of Joseph Lambert And His Men
Colonel Lambert and his men were feeling a bit train fever they had been cooped up for days on
the train. They had been moving slowly through northern Virginia the tracks had been blocked,
removed or even destroyed purposely. The only reason people had blocked the tracks was
because for some reason camps had built up around them, perhaps because they were open areas
that had already been cleared. Maybe because it brought back memories of another time but
people built camps right over them. People were surprised to see the huge black behemoth in
same cases barreling down on them, one of the reasons they had slowed down a bit. There was
one instance where they had plowed through one camp in the middle of the night, damn near
killed everyone and those that survived needless to say weren t happy, they kept moving. They
also started to find pieces of track missing no doubt people using it as building material or to melt
it down for other reasons unknown to the Colonel. For the time being it was ok they had
replacement rails and the men had been trained on how to replace them. They had been stopping
and rebuilding water towers and clearing stations. They had to continue to cut wood for fuel, which
in some cases caused confrontations with some locals who felt that they were infringing on their
resources. Once Colonel Lambert explained, generally at gun point, that all of these resources
belonged to the United States government. If they had a problem with it they could

Critical Appreciation Of Robert Frost s Poetry
Poetry in the purest form comes from an author that is writing from his or her own life
experiences and Robert Frost did just that. In three words I can sum up everything I ve learned
about life: it goes on. Frost uttered these words in remark to how he coped with his troubled life. He
dealt with heaps of loss throughout his lifetime which led to him expressing his innermost thoughts
and feelings through poetry. Robert Frosts poetry was influenced by his depression that came from
the many trials he went through during his life, the different places he lived and the many poets he
befriended.
Frost dealt with depression caused by onerous circumstances in his life and these circumstances
profoundly influenced his writing. When Robert was eleven years old he lost his father which
forced his family to move away from their home and try to cope with their lost. This was just the
first of many loved ones who would pass away during his life. Once he got married his first born
son died at the age of four to an illness, his second born committed suicide at the age of thirty
eight, his third child developed a mental illness and his last child died in her early twenties during
childbirth. He went on to also lose his wife to heart attack in 1938 and he was forced to commit
his sister into a mental institution in 1920. After all the loved ones he lost he plunged into a state of
depression which translated into his tone of writing in some of his most famous poems. My

The Causes Of Al Qaeda And The Attack Of September 11
On September 11, 2001 the United States was attacked by terrorist group name Al Qaeda, they
hijacked four planes and planned on crashing them into American landmarks. Two of the four
planes crashed into the World Trade Center, one plane crashed into the the Pentagon, the last
plane did not make it to intended landmark but, instead crashed into a field. The terrorist attack
on September 11th could not have necessarily have been prevented but, could not has been as
severe. Certain things like lack of government communication, not very thorough background
checks on middle eastern immigrants, lack of proper preparation for possible terrorist attacks
impacted the severity of the situation. On the day of the attack and months prior the government
did not communicate effectively, so it cause the attack to be much worse. Prior to the event
police had been invigilating possible acts of terrorism that could lead to Zacarias Moussaoui,
with all of his information on his computer. Police applied for a search warrant to search through
Moussaoui s computer and were denied, eventually he was accused of being involved in the attack
on September 11th and being in affiliation with Osama Bin Laden. On the day of Al Qaeda s
attack important details were not passed on to the needed government agency. When the first plane

Baroque Art Depicted the Religious Tensions During that...
Art in the Baroque period was used to depict the religious tensions present at the time.
Coincidentally, the philosophy of the time also played a key role in addressing the tensions that
existed during the period. As a result of the focus on similar aspects of the society, there
emerged numerous similarities between the artwork of the time and the ideas expressed by
philosophers such as Descartes and Leibniz. It is critical to assess the views of the different
philosophers in order to determine how the artwork was similar to their perceptions of the world.
This essay addresses the views of Descartes in relation to the principles of Baroqueart. In particular,
the essay focuses on the works of Vermeer and Rembrandt, seeking to determine how their art
relates to the philosophical views of Descartes.
Rembrandt
Rembrandt was one of the most influential Baroque artists of the 17th century, with popular works
such as the Anatomy Lesson of Dr. Tulp, the Night Watch, and Angel Leaving Tobit and Tobias
(Open University of Kaohsiung). His success was based on the fact that his work did not go out
of fashion. The spiritual life of Holland during the Baroque period required him because he was
relevant in presenting ideas about the period in his work. Some of the most successful works of
Rembrandt were depictions of biblical stories that he presented in highly relevant detail. The painter
represented the scriptures from the Bible in the minutest detail by integrating it with his own

Palestinian Conflict In Israel
The only Jewish state in the world is called Israel. It was originally called Palestine, but was
renamed Israel when part of it was given to the Israelis. However Palestinians weren t happy when
some of their land was given away, and that started a conflict. That s what the Israeli Palestinian
conflict is about, who gets the land. Israelused to be a Jewish state, so there are lots of places that
are very meaningful to Jews. During the 1930 s many Jews were fleeing from Hitler and a lot of
them moved to Palestine, for safety; meanwhile in Europe people were starting to think Jews
needed a homeland, they thought that it would be good to put it in Palestine since their ancestors
used to live there. The U.N. decided to split Palestine up between Palestinians and Israelis;
unfortunately it didn t go as well as planned and there were many wars over the land. Right now
there are high tensions between the two groups; neither group likes the current situation, but neither
one wants to change it. The creation of Israel could have been handled better, had there been more
thought about where and how to create Israel.
When Palestine was split up between Israelis and Palestinians, it was not split up fairly. There was
at least half, if not more given to Israelis, however the Palestinians had twice the number of people.
The Partition Plan allocated approximately 55% of the land of historic Palestine to the Jewish state

17th Century Literature Throughout Europe
14th Century Literature in Europe The 14th century consisted of many different events, which then
lead to a rise in literary movements and influential writers. The writers and poets of medieval
Europe created their own tropes and themes throughout the entire history of the century. 14th
century literature is greatly impacted by many factors: historical, religious, aesthetic. The 14th
century also contained a mass of literary movements, often times coexisting with the
aforementioned factors. Historical Events and Context Peasants Revolt The Peasants Revolt was
an aftermath of the Black Death, which also greatly influenced literature and arts throughout its
course. The Peasants Revolt year 1381 significantly altered literature during the course of the
14th century. The Peasants Revolt was unique in its significance because what is considered
modern day England was the only medieval society to have a peasants revolt (Swain). Naturally,
such a huge uprising brings influence with it. Besides the Bubonic Plague, another reason for the
Peasants Revolt occurred due an expanding middle class, which then in turn took land away from
Nobles. This land crisis caused the Nobility to have an upset, and they enacted a law to stop the
Peasant Class from having social mobility. Like most societal uprising, money was a huge factor.
This new law included a poll tax, which heavily taxed the lower class. Unfortunately, the Nobles
made an error and based the tax on the population before

What Is The Assassination Of Gandhi Unjust
Mohandas Gandhi was an influential leader for India s independence, whose acts to gain Indian
rights, led to him getting assassinated by Hindus that were against his ideas and motives. As
Gandhi moved to South Africa to study law, he experienced racism and South African laws that
restricted the rights of Indian laborers. He was removed from a first class railway compartment
and thrown off of a train. This was the moment of truth that made Gandhi decide to defend his
rights as an Indian man and fight injustice. Gandhi formed the Natal Indian Congress (NIC), which
drew attention world wide to the struggle Indians were facing in India. That was just the first of
many steps Gandhi took in his fight to gain Indian rights and independence from Great Britain.
Although thousands of people supported Gandhi s ideas and actions, certain groups of Hindus and
Muslims felt differently about the whole matter. They wanted to kill Gandhi for what he was doing;
and on January 30th, 1948, Mohandas Gandhi was assassinated by a Hindu fanatic named
Nathuram Godse. The assassination of Mohandas Gandhi was unjust, because he was a political

Britain; however, others disagreed with his actions to gain... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Animal Testing in Drug Industry: Is It Appropriate or Not?
Millions of people were killed by incurable diseases, such as smallpox, rabies, et cetera before the
18th century due to lack of knowledge in developing drugs and vaccine at that time. People caught
by the diseases were hopeless because they knew that no one could help them. In the mid 1800s,
animal testing was introduced to drug industry by Edward Jenner (Trueman, 2002). His brilliant
discovery in developing smallpox vaccine by using animals helped a lot of people and gave hope
to the medical field that incurable diseases were not incurable anymore. Although he was not the

Verbal language is not the only means of communication. We can notice a person s emotions
without him saying anything because of non verbal language or body language he expressed. If we
can examine body language in human, then we are also able to observe non verbal language of
animals. In accordance to Charles Darwin in his book, The Expression of the Emotions in Man and
Animals, many of the non verbal reactions of human in expressing emotions are identical with
those of animals (Darwin, 1873). Thus, there is no reason that one, especially a scientist who has
conducted a lot of experiments with animals, does not know whether an animal is suffering from
mental pain or not. As psychological pains caused by animal testing offends the tested animals
welfare, alternative methods must be used to replace animal testing.
Animal testing not only afflicts animals being used, but also our society. A lot of harsh protests and
terrorism have been done against animal testing. Those actions have caused many public losses.
Plenty of innocent people have died; many unrelated private companies have been accidentally
involved in the damaging acts, and numerous public facilitations have been ruined in those actions

When the cold weather comes around, it s easy for the winter blues to take effect. With snow on
the ground, ice on the windshield, and below freezing temperatures to battle with throughout the

it yet, it might important to note that: the winter blues typically sets in right after the holidays,
when it s time to take down your Christmas decoration, get back to work, take care of kids, and
prepare yourself for the upcoming year. That s because the vast majority of people find that
winter is an extremely difficult time of year to gather the strength to feel joy and excitement

In contrived observation, the respondents behaviour is observed in an artificial environment, for
example, a food tasting session.
Personal
In personal observation, a researcher observes actual behaviour as it occurs. The observer may or
may not normally attempt to control or manipulate the phenomenon being observed. The observer
merely records what takes place.
Mechanical
Mechanical devices (video, closed circuit television) record what is being observed. These devices
may or may not require the respondent s direct participation. They are used for continuously
recording on going behaviour.
Non participant
The observer does not normally question or communicate with the people being observed. He or
she does not participate.
Participant
In participant observation, the researcher becomes, or is, part of the group that is being
investigated. Participant observation has its roots in ethnographic studies (study of man and races)
where researchers would live in tribal villages, attempting to understand the customs and practices
of that culture. It has a very extensive literature, particularly in sociology (development, nature and
laws of human society) and anthropology (physiological and psychological study of man).
Organizations can be viewed as tribes with their own customs and practices.

The Importance Of A Good Fitness On A Positive Mood
Finding a way to keep employees in a positive mood is important for various reasons. For
example, people who are experiencing positive moods or emotions are more flexible and open in
their thinking (Robbins, 2009, p. 268). In the military, being flexible and open to thinking is
critical. Especially since the militaryis an ever changing culture that is well known to be a
significant source of distress for military personnel during routine peacetime assignments (Pflanz,
2002). aGood use of a reference but check the need for a page or paragraph (if an online source)
number in direct quotes.
Another reason to find ways to produce positive moods in the workplace is that produces
motivation. According to Steven P. Robbins and Timothy A. Judge, in their book Organizational
Behavior, putting people in a good mood and providing them positive feedback can result in a
cycle that leads to motivation (2009, p.268). Motivation in the military can mean the difference
between a good fitness report and a bad one. As a matter of fact, motivation is a key ingredient
leadership boards look for when promoting personnel to the next rank.
Lastly, when leaders feel excited, enthusiastic, and active, they may be more likely to energize their
subordinates and convey a sense of efficacy, competence, optimism, and enjoyment (Robbins, 2009,
p.268). This is why it is important to find ways to create a working environment that promotes
positivity and cohesiveness in an

Weber was elected to the Soviet where he met Kurt Eisner, its leader. Eisner was a creative and

archetype of the charismatic leader and wrote his theories under his silhouette. Weber s primary
works include The Protestant Ethic and the Spirit of Capitalism.
Weber can be said to agree with Marx concerning the alienation of the individual in Industrial
Society. For Weber this centers around the rationalization of the West due to the spread of
bureaucracy. Weber s belief was that Industrial Societies inevitable trend was to more and more
rationalization. Thus he was certain bureaucracies were the most efficient and most rational known

commander I will talk about is Heinrich Himmler. Figure.1 Himmler in early SS uniform
Heinrich Himmler was a ceremonial chief of the Waffen SS, a leading member of the Nazi Party,
and Himmler was the one of the most powerful men in Nazi Germany and one of the persons most
directly responsible for the Holocaust. Himmler joined the party in 1923, and he was not a
powerful leader at that time. Upon the resignation of the SS leader Erhard Heiden, Himmler was
assumed as a commander of the SS by Hitler s approval, and he carried out his duties at
propaganda headquaters. His first responsibility was to organize SS participants, and over the
next year, and he made the SS force bigger, 290 men to about 3000 men. And after a few years, in
1943, Himmler became a main architect of the Holocaust, after Hitler finally resolved to kill the
Jews. Holocaust generally means a large scale massacre, but it is also known as a large scale
massacre of Jewish people in World War2. Holocaust first became known by Himmler s speech.
To summarize the Posen speech, Himmler said I want to address here a very difficult subject, in
all openness before you. It shall be addressed among us, not in public... I am now referring to the

Nutritional Analysis Project
After completing this nutritional analysis project, it opened my eyes to how many positive and
negatives are present in my diet. To begin, one of the positives of my nutritional status is the fact
that I get enough protein through the foods I eat. For example, on October 1, I ate 6 ounces of
chicken breast, which is high in protein. Furthermore, I also have a lot of vitaminB6 and B12 in my
diet. Vitamin B12 was in the 6 ounces of meatloaf I ate on September 30. This vitamin is vital
for normal brain functioning as well. In addition, I consume enough iron in my foods. Iron is
extremely important in the body as it helps red bloods cells transport oxygen. One example of
when I consumed a lot of iron was when I ate corn flakes for breakfast all three days. On the other
hand, this project also uncovered numerous ways my diet falls short. One of these is the fact that I
did not have enough... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I only consumed 11 grams of fiber on September 29 and October 1, and 12 grams on September 30.
This falls much lower than the target intake level of 38 grams. As a result, I am going to add
more fiber to my diet. One way I plan to accomplish this is by adding flaxseed to my yogurt as a
snack. This will add 2.8 grams of dietary fiber per 1 tablespoon serving. Moreover, a final
negative is how my current sodium intake is too high. For example, it was 2953 milligrams on
October 1, when my target was to have less than 2300 milligrams. Consuming too much sodium
can cause hypertension, so I need to make a change. I can accomplish this by adding less salts to
my foods and by removing sodium rich foods in my diet. One example is in the salad dressing I
have every day for lunch. In fact, 30 grams of ranch dressing has 328 milligrams of sodium. I am
going to switch to Caesar salad dressing instead, with only 158 milligrams of

Postpartum Depression In The Yellow Wallpaper
When thinking about adding a new addition into a household, there are many things to consider. A
main point would question the parents of the future child/children regarding their ability to have a
stable income and a big enough house to accommodate the growth in their family. Throughout the
pregnancy, the parents will face many eye opening situations, but do we ever consider what can
happen after a woman conceives the child/children.
Recently in class, my classmates and I have read and watched different resources that explained the
effects of postpartum depression. While discovering these resources, each had a different way of
explaining the effects of postpartum depression throughout different women. While researching
postpartum depression, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Andrea Yates, motherof five children between the ages of 6 months and 7 years old, suffered
severe postpartum psychosis in 2001. While her husband was at work, she drowned each of her
children one after the other in the bathtub of their home. After doing so, she had noticed what she
had done was wring and called both the police and her husband. After the incident Yates was taken
in by the police and tried guilty for the death of her children. People today still wonder if she did

The quality of lighting effects how the products looks, and how clients will perceive it. Ultimately, lighting effects whether a client will purchase your products or not. Even with the enormous set of visual environmental cues present in retail environments, lightingdoes play a significant role in creating an ambiance. This quote by Yvonne De Kort is expressing the importance of lighting in a retail space and the effects it has on a spaces ambiance. Lighting effects how everyone feels and changes the ways we interact in spaces. I am going to go through the showrooms I observed and reflect what I learned about the types of lighting fixtures and lighting layers in showrooms. RESEARCH In showrooms it s important to include all form of lighting (general, task, and decorative) into the space to create a cohesive lighting design that showcases the products that are being lit. Lighting can be used to direct focus to certain products, and create paths for customers to follow. It is good to consider the flexibility of the fixtures placed, to allow for adjustment when store displays are changed. Making sure the color rendering of the lamps is high quality, so the clients know what the products actually look like. Keeping maintenance easy is important, because products that are not lighting properly will not sell. Layered lighting techniques must support the plan of the space and ... Introduction There has been an ongoing battle in recent years within the technology arena between the relative merits of Microsoft s Windows versus the open source platforms, Linux being one of them. Typically, discussions center around desktops or servers but an area often overlooked is embedded systems. Examples of such systems are industrial machines, automobiles, medical equipment, and specialized devices. With the growing ubiquity of smart devices, the device arena offers action every bit as intense (LinuxDevices). Both Windows and Linux offer solutions for specialized areas that include devices such as PDAs or handhelds, mobile phones, audio/video applications, even robots. This 64 bit architecture increases RAM memory limits from 4 gigabytes (GB) to 128 GB and increases virtual memory from 4 GB to 16 terabytes (TB). System cache also makes a huge jump from 1 GB to 1 TB. On paper, this would mean the ability to accomplish tasks unheard of with 32 bit system, if not for some serious downsides. In some real world tests, the promise has not lived up to the hype, at least not yet. In CNET tests, XP Pro x64 had in fact lower bench tests when compared to XP Pro (32bit). • 4. The Connecticut River, The Common Sewer Overflow And Sewer... Introduction In this research paper I will be talking about the Connecticut River, the common sewer overflow and sewer discharge that goes into the river, I will be focusing on the pollutants that are in the CT river, I will also focus on the high density towns and the affect it has on them, then I will talk about the ecological impacts and economical aspects. The Connecticut River is the longest river in the New England region, it spans through five states Maine (Small portions), Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts and Connecticut, discharging into the Long island sound. The river serves more than two million people throughout New England. The main issue with the river is the untreated storm water and sewer waste that is being discharged into it which causes many harmful effects not only to the many different species that call the CT River its home, but to the people that live around the CT River. Combined sewer overflows (CSOs), the discharging of combined sewer systems directly into surface waters upon capacity overload, are a large source of pollution of U.S. waterways. A report from the Environment and Connecticut Research and policy center has said that industrial facilities have discharged 224,029 pounds of toxic waste into the Connecticut waterways in the year of 2012. There are many government agencies such as the EPA and committees like the Connecticut River Cleanup Committee that are raising funds and awareness in order to help clean up the Connecticut River ... These factors should be discussed because it illustrates the progress of the judicial system and federal government throughout the years and it shows that people most vulnerable to committing crimes may not always commit crime. Similarly, it shows that economic factors leading to crime in the past are not always the case due to positive behavioral changes throughout the years. The general themes of the articles are based on economic factors, technology, the justice system and people of certain age groups that are most likely to commit crimes, and how they all contribute to the major decline in crime rates over the years. The political implications of the Russo Japanese war was a major cause of the 1905 Revolution as support left the Tsar and went to political groups which many believed could take his place. However, many people believe that the Russo Japanese was not the only cause for the outbreak of the 1905 revolution. During this period, there were many growing political groups which many believed would be better than the Tsar because of their more radical thinking. The Russians mainly supported the Populists the Social Revolutionaries, the Social Democrats and the Liberals. The SR was heavily against the Tsar and his regimes. They opposed by assassinating many members of the government including the Minister of the Interior, Plehve in 1904 and Sergei. The SR became hugely popular due to their radicalism and the fact they are getting closer to their goal than many other political groups which lead to the public supporting them as opposed to the Tsar causing the 1905 revolution. It s most prominent during the time of reconstruction in the form of lynching. Lynching is termed as a killing organized and performed by a group or mob of people. Some justify it as different from murder and get away from it. That is complete ideocracy. Lynching is just a subcategory or another form of murder but not a different crime in itself in my opinion. It was a combination of sadism and racismthat white used to subjugate African Americans because they were afraid to be equal. For many years, Americans were at the top of the social caste system and something was coming to ruin the system that has worked to their benefit and it was called African Americanprogression. African Americans were making a life for themselves and the white man was not having it. Out of fear, Americans, usually those that felt like they were close to equal to negro status and less educated, started to use lynching as a way to instill fear into the heart of the Black community. This did not mean that white Americans wouldn t participate in these celebrations. Together Americans lynched countless black peopleand nigger lovers by burning, castrating, and dismembering... The president may chose to hold a press conference, run commercials, hold a fireside chat, or run a propaganda or slandering campaign in order to bring public opinion over his bill into favor. Another factor in the president s mobilization of support for a program in congress is presidential patronage. Presidential patronage as defined by the president now in office, giving his best supporters or contributors key positions in office. In order for the president to be able to rally support quickly and efficiently from the public, having people in offices or positions of influence over many people is very favorable. As these people who being given patronage jobs for their support of the president, will feel obligated to show support. Not only can the people the president appointed to office show their support but they can rally their underlings in office for their support also. This is a very favorable way for the president to gain momentum with his bill, because these people are basically guaranteed votes and need only to show their strength to congress to support this idea. Mixed into the patronage idea are the contributors necessary for most of the funds behind a campaign. The president has the advantage here, because he can appoint these contributors to honorary positions. Therefore threatening the individual congressmen with the thought of losing a valuable contributor for their own campaigns for office (if they go against the president and his ... Comparing And Contrasting Christianity And Islam Comparing and Contrasting Christianity and Islam Religion is a guide to live a life that offers a fixed set of morals, as well as something to hold onto in times of misfortune and remarkable miracles. It is something that one will always grasp for, obey, and learn from as they carry on with their everyday lives. Christianity, which stands as the most practiced religion in the world, and Islam , which stands second, both portray how something that starts off so small can grow to enormous proportions and bring abundant rejoice and enlightenment to ones life. Christianity and Islam differ from each other because one bases its beliefs on the Bible while the other focuses on the Qur an. One also has seven layers of Hell, while the other does not. The two are similar because they have analogous outlines of how the human race should live; for Christianity it is the Ten Commandments and for Islam it is the Five Pillars. Another way they are similar is that both have judgment take place after death occurs. The writing of the Bible took many years and multiple authors to portray the teachings of God. On the other hand, Muhammad individually recorded the Qur an the holy book of Islam. Though Muhammad recorded the Qur an, God was the one that told him what should be written. Having said this, the two differ immensely. Firstly, Christians believe that Jesuswas resurrected from the dead after three days. Muslims, on the other hand, believe that ... Firestone decided the only solution to this problem was for women and children to live totally separated from men, and to even do away with them completely. They had been moving slowly through northern Virginia the tracks had been blocked, removed or even destroyed purposely. The only reason people had blocked the tracks was because for some reason camps had built up around them, perhaps because they were open areas that had already been cleared. Maybe because it brought back memories of another time but people built camps right over them. People were surprised to see the huge black behemoth in same cases barreling down on them, one of the reasons they had slowed down a bit. There was one instance where they had plowed through one camp in the middle of the night, damn near killed everyone and those that survived needless to say weren t happy, they kept moving. For the time being it was ok they had replacement rails and the men had been trained on how to replace them. They had been stopping and rebuilding water towers and clearing stations. They had to continue to cut wood for fuel, which in some cases caused confrontations with some locals who felt that they were infringing on their resources. In three words I can sum up everything I ve learned about life: it goes on. Frost uttered these words in remark to how he coped with his troubled life. He dealt with heaps of loss throughout his lifetime which led to him expressing his innermost thoughts and feelings through poetry. Robert Frosts poetry was influenced by his depression that came from the many trials he went through during his life, the different places he lived and the many poets he befriended. Frost dealt with depression caused by onerous circumstances in his life and these circumstances profoundly influenced his writing. When Robert was eleven years old he lost his father which forced his family to move away from their home and try to cope with their lost. This was just the first of many loved ones who would pass away during his life. Once he got married his first born son died at the age of four to an illness, his second born committed suicide at the age of thirty eight, his third child developed a mental illness and his last child died in her early twenties during childbirth. Coincidentally, the philosophy of the time also played a key role in addressing the tensions that existed during the period. As a result of the focus on similar aspects of the society, there emerged numerous similarities between the artwork of the time and the ideas expressed by philosophers such as Descartes and Leibniz. Israelused to be a Jewish state, so there are lots of places that are very meaningful to Jews. During the 1930 s many Jews were fleeing from Hitler and a lot of them moved to Palestine, for safety; meanwhile in Europe people were starting to think Jews needed a homeland, they thought that it would be good to put it in Palestine since their ancestors used to live there. The U.N. decided to split Palestine up between Palestinians and Israelis; unfortunately it didn t go as well as planned and there were many wars over the land. Right now there are high tensions between the two groups; neither group likes the current situation, but neither one wants to change it. The creation of Israel could have been handled better, had there been more thought about where and how to create Israel. When Palestine was split up between Israelis and Palestinians, it was not split up fairly. Naturally, such a huge uprising brings influence with it. Besides the Bubonic Plague, another reason for the Peasants Revolt occurred due an expanding middle class, which then in turn took land away from Nobles. This land crisis caused the Nobility to have an upset, and they enacted a law to stop the Peasant Class from having social mobility. Like most societal uprising, money was a huge factor. What Is The Assassination Of Gandhi Unjust Mohandas Gandhi was an influential leader for India s independence, whose acts to gain Indian rights, led to him getting assassinated by Hindus that were against his ideas and motives. As Gandhi moved to South Africa to study law, he experienced racism and South African laws that restricted the rights of Indian laborers. He was removed from a first class railway compartment and thrown off of a train. This was the moment of truth that made Gandhi decide to defend his rights as an Indian man and fight injustice. Gandhi formed the Natal Indian Congress (NIC), which drew attention world wide to the struggle Indians were facing in India. That was just the first of many steps Gandhi took in his fight to gain Indian rights and independence from Great Britain. Although thousands of people supported Gandhi s ideas and actions, certain groups of Hindus and Muslims felt differently about the whole matter. Verbal language is not the only means of communication. We can notice a person s emotions without him saying anything because of non verbal language or body language he expressed. If we can examine body language in human, then we are also able to observe non verbal language of animals. In accordance to Charles Darwin in his book, The Expression of the Emotions in Man and Animals, many of the non verbal reactions of human in expressing emotions are identical with those of animals (Darwin, 1873). Thus, there is no reason that one, especially a scientist who has conducted a lot of experiments with animals, does not know whether an animal is suffering from mental pain or not. As psychological pains caused by animal testing offends the tested animals welfare, alternative methods must be used to replace animal testing. For example, people who are experiencing positive moods or emotions are more flexible and open in their thinking (Robbins, 2009, p. 268). In the military, being flexible and open to thinking is critical. Especially since the militaryis an ever changing culture that is well known to be a significant source of distress for military personnel during routine peacetime assignments (Pflanz, 2002). aGood use of a reference but check the need for a page or paragraph (if an online source) number in direct quotes. Another reason to find ways to produce positive moods in the workplace is that produces motivation. According to Steven P. Robbins and Timothy A. Judge, in their book Organizational Behavior, putting people in a good mood and providing them positive feedback can result in a cycle that leads to motivation (2009, p.268). Motivation in the military can mean the difference between a good fitness report and a bad one. As a matter of fact, motivation is a key ingredient leadership boards look for when promoting personnel to the next rank. Lastly, when leaders feel excited, enthusiastic, and active, they may be more likely to energize their subordinates and convey a sense of efficacy, competence, optimism, and enjoyment (Robbins, 2009, p.268). Figure.1 Himmler in early SS uniform Heinrich Himmler was a ceremonial chief of the Waffen SS, a leading member of the Nazi Party, and Himmler was the one of the most powerful men in Nazi Germany and one of the persons most directly responsible for the Holocaust. Himmler joined the party in 1923, and he was not a powerful leader at that time. Upon the resignation of the SS leader Erhard Heiden, Himmler was assumed as a commander of the SS by Hitler s approval, and he carried out his duties at propaganda headquaters.
