Working
First the analog signal from the input side is sampled as per the sampling rate as a result of it the
signal is now in the form of discrete signal.so to overcome the aliasing effect we use sampling
frequent which is twice the max frequency of the signal. Quantization process is is used to concert
this discrete signal to binary form after all this step the signal quantize as per the level of the
signal.at the output side decoding of this binary signal take place with maintaining the same level
of quantization in this way we will obtain the original analog signal.
DPCM
Definition
Differential PCM (DPCM) is more compelling then PCM as it figure this distinction and after that
transmit this little contrast motion rather than the whole info input sample. Since the distinction
between input tests is not as much as a whole info sample, the quantity of bits required for
transmission is diminished. As a result it reduces in throughput required to transmit the voice
signals. Utilizing DPCM can lessen the bit rate of any voice transmission down to 48 kbps.
Working and advantage:
The initial segment of DPCM works precisely like PCM so called derived function PCM. The info
sign is sampled at a constant sampling absolute frequency (two times the stimulation frequency).
Then these samples are modulated using the PAM appendage. At this item, the DPCM unconscious
process takes over. The sampled input signaling is stored in what is called

World Is Flat Essay
The phrase: the world is flat can be interpreted in many ways. Basically what Friedman means by
flat is linked. The falling of trade and political barriers and technical advances have made it
possible to do business, instantaneously with billions of other people around the world. It has
allowed for parts of the world, which had previously been cut off, like China and India, to
successfully compete in the world market. Thus, the playing field is being leveled, and no one
nation has an advantage. Friedman could also refer to a flat world in a metaphorical sense. In a
spherical earth you cannot see around the world and cannot recognize the opportunities far from
where you live. If the world were flat you could see it all. There... Show more content on

Soon after, the World Wide Web was created as a system for organizing and linking documents
so they could be viewed over the internet. Individuals could post their digital content so it could
be accessed by almost anyone from any part of the globe. The commercial web browser was
kicked off by Netscape. Netscape was a huge flattening force for many reasons. The Netscape
browser not only brought the internet alive but also made it accessible to everyone. Individuals
immediately found themselves hooked with anybody s website on the internet, and in no time,
they were able to interact and be in touch with virtually anyone. Work flow software: In the late
90s, an abundance of application software hit the marketplace. The rise of this work flow
software was a quiet revolution that took place with few people knowing about it. When it was
finally made more public, its impact was overwhelming. This software enabled more people in
more places to design, manage, and collaborate on business data in real time. This software could
shape things, design things, create things, sell things, buy things, and keep track of things. It
carried out transmission protocols and standards which allowed for businesses to work together to
accomplish a common task. This contributed to the flattening of the world as more and more
people were able to interact with this type of software. Uploading: Uploading harnesses the power

The Industrialization Movement
In the late 1800 s, a thing called Industrialization started to occur. Industrialization is when our
economy went from an agriculture (farming) economy to an industrial (manufacturing) economy.
There were many very important leaders in the industrialization movement in the late 1800 s.
Andrew Carnegie, George Eastman, Henry Fordand J.D Rockefeller were all Captains of Industry
and had a big impact on the industrialization movement and made it more positive than negative.
Industrialization had a positive impact on American society. The Transcontinental Railroad, the
steel industry and the automotive industry all had big advantages during this industrialization
movement. The Transcontinental Railroad had a positive impact on industrialization... Show more

The Transcontinental Railroad allowed for more goods to be shipped to different sides of the
country, which was good for the economy. The railroad also allowed people to move out west to
start a new life in farming or just to get away from the populated cities. The steel industry. If this
wasn t created, we would have less railroads and less buildings in the cities. Steel is cheap which
allowed us to building buildings. The increase in buildings also increased the population in cities.
Steel allowed for more railroads to be built. More railroads equal more trade. The increase in trade
strengthened our economy and gave more jobs to more people so we were able to continue trading
that good. Industrialization was positive. Think of all the cities that were created because of it.

Human Activity And Its Impact On Business Operations
Accounting is said to be as old as any organized human activity. Dating back to Babylon and
Humaraby s book of law, over Greece and Rome and further on through history, there has always
been a need to record events referring to purchase and sale, payment and collection. Such recording
originally generated bookkeeping, which at the level of development of production forces was
primarily in function of trade and banking. Its further development was according to changes in
organization of business activity (Andrijasevic, n.d.). According to Novicevic and Antic (1999),
until the 70s enterprises in West countries carried out their business in protected competitive
conditions. However, in today s global economy, markets have become universal, with
organizations viewing the world as a platform for carrying out their diverse trades . To compete
successfully in the global market, organizations/ businesses need to prioritize customer satisfaction
parameters during business operations. To achieve this, they must concentrate on key success
factors such as; costs efficiency, quality, cycle time, and innovativeness. Quality has become one of
the key competitive variables generating the need for evaluation of spending resources needed for
the given level of quality by which the company can expect and achieve competitive advantage on
the market (Gajic, 2005).
The improvement of quality requires the engagement of each player in the business arena, from the

Why Baseball Is Important To Me Research Paper
Baseball is a fun, exciting, and cheerful game. I love how I feel at home when I walk onto the
field. I always play the same position, second base,it is my favorite position to play.I love when
the ball is hit to me and I can scoop it up and throw it to first. When we get three outs, we go to
bat and I hit pretty good most of the time. When we start the game, we take the field first.I head
out onto the field to play second base. When we go out there my friends play the bases around
me, we talk and communicate to throw the ball to the right base. When the ball is hit to me, I
always take a second to make sure that it is coming to me.If I catch the ball I throw it to first
unless there was already a runner on first then I throw it to second. When I throw it to second the
shortstop gets the ball, tags the base, and throws it to first so we can get a double play. When we
get three outs we go up to bat. We get off the field, coach gets us together outside the dugout and
tells us to hit the ball and we break it down. After we break it down we go into the dugout and we
bat.Cameron my best friend is the first batter, then I am second.Cameron normally bunts because
he is fast and can get to first before they throw him out. With Cameron at first I go up to bat and
coach normally tells me to hit away.I

Paradox Of National Identity Summary
The reading Paradox of National Identity: Region, Nation, and Canadian Idol by Boulou Ebanda,
and Ruth Middlebrook focuses on the 2006 season of Canada Idol and how it manufactures the
Canadian identity. The authors argue that the Canadian identity has regional differences is a great
example of othering which is characterizing individuals as different and alien to the norm. This
can be seen in the paper by applying a powerful status to the in group which are the urban cities
(the norm ) compared to the others who are the rural, [p]oor, recent immigrants . . . refugees,
religious but not Christian, and non English or French speaking (Byers, 2008, p. 71). The one

According to Maxwell and Knox (2009), academics and practitioners have extolled the potential
benefits of having a well managed cooperate brand. They have also acknowledged that corporate
branding brings new challenges that cannot be readily addressed within a traditional marketing
framework, including a need to ensure that employee behavior is consistently aligned with the
company s brand promise, but previous research has tended to focus on issues related to
recruitment. As a result, little is known about how employer branding can actually be used to
support the corporate brand. More specifically, researchers have yet to explain what makes an
organization s employer brand attractive to current employees (Maxwell Knox, 2009).
More specifically, theorists argue that a corporate brand should be closely aligned with the identity
of the organization. Corporate brand communications may include symbolism and conventional
communications such as advertising and PR. However, corporate branding also involves multiple
stakeholders interacting with numerous staff in multiple departments across an organization it
provides external stakeholders with information about the identity of the organization and if this
information is not consistent with the advertised

Nepali Interlanguage Research Essays
Introduction
Nepali belongs to the Indo Iranian branch of the Indo European language family and is closely
related to Hindi. It began appearing (in an older form) in what is now Nepal around 300 C.E.,
when Hindu Indo Aryans invaded the area from the south, displacing the Buddhist Kirantis. The
now unified Nepal is made up of over one hundred ethnic groups, each with its own language and
culture. Nepali is the national unifying language and is spoken by most Nepalis as a first or second
language (O Rourke and Shrestha 2008, 9). In addition, Nepali is spoken in other areas of the
Himalayan region, including the southern part of Bhutan where it is the language of a substantial
and oppressed minority called the Lhotshampa (Riccardi 2003, ... Show more content on

They have the distinct advantage in their new environment of having each other to converse with in
their native tongue, though even their communication with each other has begun to pick up bits
and pieces of an English lexicon.
Nepali acts as a lingua franca in areas throughout the Himalayan region and has a long history of
being imposed through military conquest and sustained by political domination. Because of this,
there are a number of related dialects that are spoken apart from the standard form, though it is
becoming increasingly standardized (Riccardi 2003, 540). It is hard to decipher, given my limited
communicative ability with the students and their young age, whether their idiolects represent a
non standard variety of the language or are representative of overall tendencies.
Nepali is now one of the official languages of India and, like Hindi, it uses the Devanagari script
(O Rourke and Shrestha 2008, 9). The alphabet has 67 characters, most of which, unlike English
orthography, have a single pronunciation (O Rourke and Shrestha 2008, 15).
[Will discuss the main differences between Nepali and English and the peculiarities of Nepali
related to universal tendencies. Will use the theories of cross linguistic influence in second
language acquisition to determine the likely interlanguage forms of native Nepali speakers learning
English.

Joy Luck Club Mother-Daughter Relationship Essay
East West Values and the Mother daughter Relationship in The Joy Luck Club
The dominant theme of The Joy Luck Club is the clash between Chinese, American cultures, and
how it affects the relationship between mothers and daughters. All of the mothers in the book were
born and raised in China. All of their daughters were born and raised in the United States. Because
of the differences in family traditions and values between the way the mothers had been raised in
China and the way their daughters were growing up in America, there was bound to be a clash
between the two generations. Perhaps the most dramatic example of how East West conflicting
traditions and values affected a mother daughter relationship was that of Suyuan Woo and... Show

perfectionism: What are you picking on her for? I said carelessly. She s pretty good. Maybe she
s not the best, but she s trying hard. The mother rejoins: Just like you, she said. Not the best.
Because you not trying. (Tan 136) The television show gave Suyuan a model for how June could
excel and the mother worked cleaning house for a piano teacher to give June lessons and a
second hand piano for her to practice on. June is aghast at her mother s plans for her. She
thought she had been sent to hell. I whined and then kicked my foot a little when I couldn t stand
it anymore. June asks, Why don t you like me the way I am? I am not a genius! I cannot play the
piano. And even if I could, I wouldn t go on TV if you paid me a million dollars! I cried. Her
mother is equally appalled by June s insolence and disobedience. Disrespect for her elders and
ingratitude for what her parents were providing in the way of opportunity was unknown in a
daughter from the old China. Suyuan preserved and forced June to practice but June soon found
ways to subvert the system and refuse to play as well as she might have. The climax came during a
talent show in a church hall. The mother invited all of her friends from the Joy Luck Club to witness
her daughter s first recital. June started okay but then found that she was playing the

Alfred Adler s Birth Order Theory
For the final presentation for this course, I have decided to discuss Alfred Adler s birth order
theory. I essentially decided to choose this topic because I found it extremely intriguing on how
someone s birth order could have a profounding effect on their personality. Also I was able to
relate to this topic on a personal level compared to some of the other theories. Meaning, when
learning and talking about birth order, as the first born in my family I was able to compare a lot
of my traits to the ones described. It was interesting to see a psychologist create an actual theory
trying to explain this idea. Which lead me to discuss in my presentation, how Adler developed this
particular theory, its contributions to describing personality, and recent research advances. First, I
will give a little biography of Adler and explain ow he got into the psychologyfield. Along with his
reasons on focusing on family constellation, and he came to developing this distinct theory. As
well as describing what birth order theory which points out the order of which children are born
into the family. It mentions how each child possess certain personality traits simply on the order
in which someone is born. Second, I will also discuss how this concept continues to have an
influence in popular psychology. I will also be mention why this theory is considered to be
conversional to some psychologist, and how it affects the research. Lastly, I will be talking about
how birth order has impacted the

John Green Paper Towns Essay
It s a paper town. I mean look at it Q: look at all those cul de sacs, those streets that turn in on
themselves, all the houses that were built to fall apart. All those paper people living in their paper
houses, burning the future to stay warm (Green 57). This quote is from The #1 New York Times
Bestseller, Paper Towns, written by John Green. In part one of this book, Quentin Jacobsen, the
main character, lives in a subdivision in Florida named Jefferson Park. Quentin s miracle in life was
his neighbor, Margo Roth Spiegelman. As time went passing by, their relationship slowly
disintegrated during high school. One night, Margo decides to show up at Q s window and goes

The author of this book gave the reader a good visualization of Margo and Q hopping the fence
in the parking lot at SeaWorld. I believe the author did a good job at visualizing because he gave
the reader precise descriptions of the events in the book. For example, We ran through a small
thicket of trees, hugging tight against these huge opaque tanks that might have stored animals,
and then we came out to an asphalt path and I could see the big amphitheater where shamu
splashed me when I was a kid (Green 75). This is a useful visual to show how visualization is
key when writing a story. The visualizations include specific details of events or objects that are in
the book. As readers can visualize an event, it gives them a better understanding of the story line.
With the sentences that the author has given, I believe it is easy for others to visualize each event
with the specific aspects. Creating an image from the story can also help connect, predict and form
other reading strategies. Visualizing is truly a useful reading strategy in every

Regrets in The Remains of the Day
...For a great many people, the evening is the most enjoyable part of the day. Perhaps, then, there
is something to his advice that I should cease looking back so much, that I should adopt a more
positive outlook and try to make the best of what remains of my day. After all, what can we ever
gain in forever looking back and blaming ourselves if our lives have not turned out quite as we
might have wished? The hard reality is, surely, that for the likes of you and I, there is little choice
other than to leave our fate, ultimately, in the hands of those great gentlemen at the hub of this

It is this blind loyalty with which Stevens gratifies his employer and unables himself to look
closely at what his employer really thinks or does (symptoms of dignity ). His doctrine states:
It is, in practice, simply not possible to adopt such a critical attitude towards an employer and at
the same time provide good service. It is not simply that one is unlikely to be able to meet the
many demands of service at the higher levels while one s attentions are being diverted by such
matters; more fundamentally, a butler who is forever attempting to formulate his own strong
opinions on his employer s affairs is bound to lack one quality essential in all good professionals:
namely, loyalty. (Ishiguro, 200)
But the loyalty doctrine denies Stevens his own thoughts on, for instance, Darlington s letting go
of the Jewish maids, or whether or not the great guests he has the honor or serving in his capacity
as a great butler are really so great after all.
Stevens detachment ultimately is chilling, for the distance that he believes is a necessary aspect of
dignity, instead distances him even from the fact that this attitude of detachment is not great, but
unhealthy. This sets a butler s dignity above human dignity, he realizes at the end, and human
dignity must always come first: Lord Darlington wasn t bad man...And at least he had the privilege
of being able to say at the end of his life that he made his own mistakes...He chose a

Decolonization Of The Country Of Ghana
One of the most desirable qualities to achieve is independence. Whether it be regarding intellectual,
financial, or emotional aspects of life, striving for independence continues to be a universal concept.
For the country of Ghana, independence became a necessity, and this type of freedom could only be
obtained through a process called decolonization. Decolonization is when a country removes itself
from a location it has colonized, leaving that location independent to govern over itself. The nature
of this can be problematic, due to the extensive difficulties of creating a functional country with
little time or practice. Decolonization originated from nationalist movements throughout the late
19th and early 20th century, and the observation of older colonies obtaining independence both
inspired and guided the country of Ghana to do the same. Understanding that the rewards of
decolonization far outweigh the problems it may bring is essential. The desire for decolonization
began once countries realized that the colonizing countries were not invincible. Weaknesses were
shown during World War II especially. Some of these weakness were the lack of attention and lack
of control these colonizing countries had. The colonized people s thirst for independence on top of
this vulnerability presented a perfect opportunity to begin independence movements. During the
beginning of World War II, a document named the Atlantic Charter was created. This document
described the goals of the

Slavery And Human Trafficking
The twentieth century has been a century of progress in almost every area of human rights. This
makes the persistence of slavery in today s world even more egregious. Even as laws banning
slavery and its prohibition are enshrined in international instruments, notably the Universal
Declaration of Human Rights, it is still practiced in many forms: traditional chattel slavery, bonded
labour, serfdom, child labour, migrant labour, domestic labour, forced labour and slavery for
ritual or religious purposes (Aronowitz, 3). The enslaving of humans has a history that date
back to the Roman Empire and ancient Greece. In the 15th century the Europeans traded African
Slaves. African slaves were the first slaves bought to the United States, even leading other
Africans to sell their own race. Slavery has taken on various forms of the span of 6,000 years.
Slavery is now referred to as human trafficking or modern day slavery . Forced labor is defined
as all work or service which is extracted from any person under the menace of any penalty and for
which the said person has not offered himself voluntarily (Aronowitz, 11). Not all persons in
forced labor are trafficked and not all trafficked persons are enslaved. Humans are taken from their
homes and stripped of their morals.
Human trafficking begins with trust. When one sees some type of value in you to become a
potential worker they will spare no expense in trying to earn your trust. They will promise you
anything as far as a

The Cherry Orchard
The Cherry Orchard: Critical Analysis The Cherry Orchard by Anton Chekhov is about a Russian
family that is unable to prevent its beloved estate from being sold in an auction due to financial
problems. The play has been dubbed a tragedy by many of its latter producers. However, Chekhov
labeled his play a farce, or more of a comedy. Although this play has a very tragic backdrop of
Russia #8217;s casualty ridden involvement in both World Wars and the Communist Revolution, the
characters and their situations suggest a light hearted tone, even though they struggle against the
upcoming loss of the orchard. Apathy and passivity plague the characters and contribute often to
the comic side of things. Sometimes, however, the passivity... Show more content on

Another example of a character #8217;s inability to suppress foolishness is Yepikhodov #8217;s
role of the #8220;unfortunate clod #8221; (Galens 21 39). He continues to stumble over furniture
in each of his appearances. He is immediately dubbed #8220;Twenty two Calamities. #8221;
Gayev #8217;s actions also provoke comedy in The Cherry Orchard. He is addicted to fruit candy
and spends every cent he has on feeding his addiction. Another of his actions is his incisive
billiard shot calls. Sparatically in the conversation or in mid sentence he will call a shot as if he
has a cue in his hand at a pool hall. John Fiero writes in his critical analysis of The Cherry
Orchard: Madame Ranevsky is a foolish woman only too anxious to return to a worthless young
lover; Gayev is an amiable ass who talks too much; Anya is a goose and her Trofimov a solemn
windbag; Lopakhin, the practical self made man, is confused and unhappy; Epihodov a clumsy
idiot; Dunyasha a foolish girl; Yasha an insufferable jumped up lad; and Firs far gone in senility
(Corbin, John 33 37). This quote shows the comic elements of the character #8217;s personalities
and how they are put to work in the play. Apathy and passivity contrast the comic side of the
characters by roping the tragedy back into focus. Mrs. Ranevsky is the biggest example of these
qualities. She states, #8220;If only this heavy load could be lifted from my heart; if only I could

The value of fraud reported in the survey period was RM63.95 million. Not all respondents
disclosed information on the number of fraud incidents or the value of fraud detected (15
percent of the 85 respondents responded they were victims of fraud were unsure of the number

The Profession Of Social Work
When defining social work, the phrase a helping profession is used quite frequently. The
profession is often misconstrued with promoting the distribution of welfare. Often times, this
stereotype amuses me because social work is remarkably so much more. Not only do people fail
to realize that social work is one of the broadest occupations that offers various work environments,
but also they neglect one of the key goals besides the act of helping: empowerment. Yes, the
profession of social workstrives to provide the needy with physical resources to better improve
their lives through numerous institutional and residual programs, yet the most valuable assets a
worker can offer are abstract. Social workers are also supposed to educate people by giving them
the skills to sustain themselves in society long after they have received their services. By
empowering and teaching, social workers uplift and provide opportunity to those who are striving
for more.
Whether we know it or not, we all have an engrained sense to help others. For some, it fades as

Students will need to provide a folder to keep any work, as well as login information. This needs to
be brought to class each week.
Students will be required to have Internet access, whether that be through home use or through
public wi fi such as a library. Much of the work in the class is completed at school, however several
assignments do have work at home as needed.
Classroom Expectations
Students will enter the classroom in a quiet and orderly fashion. 6th 8th grade students will usually
start at their computer stations. Students will exit in the same fashion when leaving the lab.
Each student will have an assigned computer station and headphones and treat these with care.
Headphones should be bagged and placed in the bin at the end of class.
Students will work on assignments independently unless otherwise specified.
If students have a question, a raised hand will alert the teacher to the need. Leaving your computer
station is not an appropriate way to seek help.
Students are to remain on task with the materials given. Searching the Internet, going to sites not
approved, checking personal email, or spending time on other work outside of computers without
permission is a breach of the Acceptable Use Policy of Our Lady of Victory Handbook, and will be
assessed as a disciplinary concern as well as a loss of computer time during class.
Students will close all programs, save all work, and leave their computer on the home screen or
desktop at the end of the class.

Pancho Villa’s Role in the Mexican Revolution
In the early 1900 s, one man bested the rival troops and used his intelligence to defeat the
oppressive Mexican regime. Doroteo Arango ArГЎmbula, also known as Pancho Villa, was born
into a poor family and worked in the fields. Pancho Villa escalated from a peasant outlaw into a
well known revolutionary war strategist and folk hero. Pancho Villa could easily outsmart troops
and use his popularity to help his cause for equality. His actions could not atone for any previous
transgressions in his life of crime, but his tactics as a revolutionary war commander made him
almost unstoppable when it came to fighting for equality. Pancho Villa was an important factor in

Pancho Villa was one of the few young men who understood his peoples suffering and acted
upon his beliefs. He joined a team of bandits who effectively raided the rich and distributed the
wealth amongst the poor and deprived. Surviving off of crime, Villa was portrayed as a hero,
who stood for equality. Pancho argued, The grandes have enjoyed what prosperity there has been.
The government s new land laws must allow them to own their own lands, and, above all else,
own the profits. (Ander). Peasants who were willing to risk their lives against the Mexican
government joined Pancho Villa and his cause. His followers placed their faith in this intelligent

not afford to show leniency toward traitors under his command or rivals. Pancho Villa fought

The Role Of Erosion And Weathering In The Painted Desert...
Have you ever wondered how landmarks like the The Tepees in the Painted Desert of Arizona
came to be? Erosion and weathering are the main culprits behind the creation of these unique and
beautiful attractions. The mechanical and chemical procedure that modify objects on Earth s
surface over time are called weathering. Erosion is the method of taking weathered material from
one region to another. Weathering is the breaking down of rock, soil, and minerals. Erosion is the
development of being eroded by wind, water, or other natural causes. Weathering is grinding out of
man made or natural landforms. Erosion is the weathering out of surface soil and rock worn way
through natural causes like water and wind for example.
Mechanical weathering is when physical procedures naturally breakdown rocks into reduced
pieces. Chemical weathering changes the materials that are part of a rock into new resources.
Examples of chemical weathering are water, acids, and oxidation. Water is important in chemical
weathering because, most substances dissolve in water and acids are also essential since they
increase the rate of chemical weathering even more. Lastly, oxidation which is when an addition of
oxygen to a material is applied it creates an oxide. Which is a ... Show more content on

Feminism In Don Quixote
A novel is long narrative written by a novelist that describes fictional characters and events, usually
in the form of a sequential story. The later, an Italian word used to describe short stories, supplied
the present generic English term in the 18th century. The first significant European novelist is
Miguel de Cervantes, author of Don Quixote, the first part of which, the first part of which was
published in 1605. The term novelrefers back to the production of short stories that remained part of
a European oral culture of storytelling in to the 19th century. Fairy tales, jokes, little funny stories
designed to make a point in a conversation, the exemplum a priest would insert in a sermon belong
in to this tradition.
The novel is distinguished from the long narratives in verse of Geoffrey Chaucer, Edmund Spenser,
and John Milton which, beginning with eighteenth century, the novel has increasingly supplanted.
Within these limits the novel includes such diverse works as Samuel Richardson s Pamela and
Lawrence Sterne s Tristram Shandy; Jane Austen s Emma... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Comparison Of Emma In The Movie Clueless
Clueless (1995) stars Alicia Silverstone as Cher Horowitz. Like Emma, she is rich and lives with
her single father. Here she is only 15 and already has her own car (before she even has a license!)
and spends most of her time with her best friend, Dionne. The Mr. Knightley character is played
by her ex step brother, Josh, played by Paul Rudd. The movie loosely follows a lot of Emmas
plotlines. Cher hooks up two of her teachers and from there gets it into her head to be a
matchmaker. She decides to give this version s Harriet Smith, new girl Tai (Brittany Murphy), a
makeover and to hook her up with Elton. She convinces Tai that her crush, stoner Travis, is no
good. Things backfire for her when her matchmaking plans not only fail but Tai eclipses her as the
most popular girl. She goes after Christian (Frank Churchill), and although he s not a cad like
Frank in the book, he has other reasons for not going for Cher.
Some people think Clueless is the best adaptation of Emma, but I d have to disagree. I did quite
enjoy it and even used to watch the TV spinoff...I was in grade school, okay! I blame this movie
for popularizing Valley Girl speak throughout the country, but that s another story. I really liked the
characters of Cher and Josh and their sibling esque rivalry that blossomed into love and a lot of
the parallels with the book were funny, but this isn t one of my favorite movies or even adaptations.

who have to pay high medical bills because their insurance does not cover certain procedures and
allows them to seek help from the Texas Department of Insurance so that through mediation the
bill can be balanced (New Law Helps Patients). This shows that there is agreement between the

How The American Revolution Changed After The French...
The definition of the word revolution has itself evolved significantly over the course of
the American and French revolutions. Prior to the French Revolution, the word meant the process
of coming a full cycle, or a return to a point previously occupied (Kirk 295). It is only after the
chaotic French revolution which overturned the old political and social order in the country that
revolution came to be known as a radical change in social and government institutions. Since
we are analyzing the American Revolution from the perspective of the events of the French, it is
apt to use the interpretation of the word that came into being post the French revolution.

Consequently, few
social changes were needed in the eyes of the founders following the revolution (Schweikart and
Dougherty 4).
The American War of Independence may be viewed as a rebellion as opposed to a
revolution. In On Revolutions, Hannah Arendt says about medieval and post medieval rebellion
Rebellion was not a challenge of authority or the established order of things as such; it was
always a matter of exchanging the person who happened to be in authority (41). The American
Revolution too was a case of exchanging the person of authority, the King, for someone else.
Arendt did also note, however, that the people had never in the past been able to decide
who should be their ruler and more significantly, to appoint a person from their own ranks for the
business of the government. This may be considered, in the French sense of the word,
revolutionary. If anything, it was one of the few revolutionary aspects of the American
Revolution.
While this may be true, the statement that all men are born equal in the Declaration of
Independence is not too revolutionary at all when closer examined. Firstly, only white men

Examples Of Utilitarianism
Utilitarianism
Utilitarianism unlike other theories reviews the consequences of an action and according to Mill
and Bentham, should view happiness as being based upon pleasure that are more long lasting and

into account the consequences of an action to promote the maximum amount of happiness and
unlike deontology which does not take into account consequences nor does it take in account
children and mentally disabled individuals, whereas utilitarianism considers all human beings.

What should he do? An act utilitarian would pin the murder on an innocent man who happened

short term. However, a rule utilitarianism would arrest the son and put him on trial which would
lead the two families into even more disputes, but this is his job, so this would lead to positive

Every individual is a rational decision maker. So, how we arrive at a moral decision is entirely

Only one minor American passenger line had flourished for any length of time Aeromarine Airways.
After a number of widely publicized accidents in the ocean off of Florida, Aeromarine was in
decline, and was also turning the financial community against investments in airline enterprises.
Americans remained skeptical about air travel, and while not as fast as planes, ground
transportation was much safer. There were no strong objections however to improving an existing
government service. So it happened that organized air transport in the U.S. started with flying the
mail. And the way the early airmail service developed provided the springboard that would enable
American commercial aviation, by the late 1920s, to catch up with the Europeans and then to
surpass them (Air Mail 158).
The air freight industry was a dull and unpromising business until the 1960 s when commercial
airlines jumped into the competition in an all out effort to attract business from the nation s
industrial firms. Commercial airlines struggled to make a profit. They were convinced that putting
cargo in the extensive belly space below the passenger deck could be a lucrative profit center.
Delta, Eastern and United and others continued their all cargo service during the remainder of that
decade despite questions about the profitability of such service. Most of the carriers lost money

Physics for Industries
INTRODUCTION
Physics attempts to describe the fundamental nature of the universe and how it works, always
striving for the simplest explanations common to the most diverse behaviour. For example, physics
explains why rainbows have colours, what keeps a satellite in orbit, and what atoms and nuclei are
made of. The goal of physics is to explain as many things as possible using as few laws as possible,
revealing nature s underlying simplicity and beauty. Physics has been applied in many industrial
fields, which include the air industry, construction industry, automobile industry, manufacturing
industry and many others. All these industries apply physics in one way or another. For example a

The fluid moving over the top travels a greater distance than the moving just under the bottom of
the wing. Consequently, the fluid moving over the top must travel faster in order to conform to the
shape of the wing and still maintain the natural streamline. The shape of the wing also crowds the
streamlines together above the wing, just as in the case of a constructing pipe. The result is that of
the region immediately above the wing. Because the downward force on the top of the wing is less
than the upward force on the bottom, a net upward force, or lift, arises from the airflow. (Beyond
the airfoil the flowing air has a downward component of velocity. By Newton s third law, the
reaction force to the net downward force exerted on the air is the lift.) For lift to occur, a flow of
air is required relative to the wing. The lift occurs equally well for a wing moving through
stationary air or for moving past a stationary wing.
In general, as the flow of air past the wing increases, both the lift force and the drag force (the
resistance to forward motion) increases. According to Breithaipt (2000), aircraft wings are
designed so that pilots can change the wing shape during flight, producing greater lift for the
slower speeds of takeoff and landing and producing less drag at cruising extended

The Nuclear Arms Of The United States And The Soviet Union
In order to maintain peace and stability in the world, there must be a balance of power between
countries. The Nuclear Arms Race was started because there wasn t a balance of power after
World War II. The U.S. was the only country at that time which possessed nuclear weapons.
Russia, fearing a United States domination of world power, developed a nuclear bomb of its own.
Thus started the Arms Race, in which both countries attempted to gain the upper hand in terms of
the number of nuclear warheads each possessed. However, the Arms Race ended when several
treaties in arms reduction were passed. I believe that in the end, the United States and the Soviet
Union realized that one country would eventually win, and the balance of power would... Show

Typically, in popular depictions of arms races, the political calculations that start and regulate
the pace of the game remain obscure. As Charles H. Fairbanks, Jr., has noted, The strange result
is that the activity of the other side, and not one s own resources, plans, and motives, becomes
the determinant of one s behavior. And what constitutes the finish line of the game is the
province of assertion, rather than analysis. Many onlookers, and some participants, have
claimed that the likelihood of war increases as the accumulation of arms proceeds apace. A close
examination of the historical evidence reveals a different picture. Political purposes almost
always drive and govern arms races. It is common for a major race to be initiated by a state
interested in changing the political status quo. In some cases, the response of states content with
the status quo is swift and resolute, but in other cases it is constrained by domestic political or
economic considerations or diverted by diplomatic calculations. The course of an arms race has
frequently exacerbated a sense of rivalry and occasionally even determined the timing of a war; but
most often it has ended in a political settlement between rivals or in a decision by one side to
moderate its buildup. The first competitive buildup in which contemporaries used the arms race
metaphor seems to have been the naval rivalry in the late nineteenth century, in which France and
Russia challenged Britain in the context of

The Sniper and Once Upon a time give off different elements of suspense. When you read these

In the story The Sniper the element of suspense starts with the setting. The story takes place during
the civil war in Ireland. The sniper is isolated and the time of day is twilight. We don t have a lot
of information about what is going on during the story. The story is being told by a third person
so the reader can only see what the person who is telling the story sees and feel. The mood that is

Dog parks can be of great benefit, both to the cities they reside within, and to the dog owners

to the nearby residential areas. As such, the decision to install a dog park is not a light one to be

Dog parks can improve a canine s health greatly by providing a proper space for one to play and
socialize with other dogs. To this extent, it allows a dog to properly exercise, improving it s

of a canine is between 75 and 100 decibles, factoring in larger canines. This can be disruptive to

These issues must be taken into consideration. However, they must be taken into consideration

Sometimes when you tell the truth you get lickens because the truth is bad for what you had
done, but it can set you free because you at least told your parent(s) the truth which is good
because you learned your lesson. But sometimes the truth can actually help out other people than
you. This is meant to be important because if you tell the truth it can get other people in trouble
because of what they had done and they get THEIR lesson learned. This is an important saying
because it actually settles all your pressure you have to tell the truth but you just let it go. You can
keep this in mind because when you feel like telling the truth and you don t want to you can just
think of it as letting go of something that is important. It can set you

Pros And Cons Of Putin
In order to improve and conduct a nation, new reforms and new implementation are essential to be
addressed. Valdimir Putin, the current president of Russia, has diligently delegated and decided
upon many proposals, and therefore assured the safety of his people. Putin has considerably
secured Russia s stability by founding a family holiday, influencing a decrease in poverty, and
deciding upon opposing NATO. The president of Russia, Putin, has established a family holiday
that promotes life Russia s population loss to decrease. Families are being encouraged to get
married, and simultaneously help the population loss. In the following article A Holiday From

Pathological Defence Of Criminal Justice
Before an individual may be convicted of a crime he or she needs to be held criminally liable for
that criminal act. However only those with criminal capacity may be held responsible and
punished. This essay shall begin by discussing the concept of criminal responsibility as well as
how this concept is applied in regard to pathological offenders, who do not have the required
criminal capacity but have committed the crime.
Black s Law Dictionary defines criminal responsibility as referring to an individual s mental
capacity to stand before the court and answer for their actions. Furthermore Black s Law
Dictionary explores the two different meanings of this concept. Firstly; he who is responsible
under legal provisions is liable to either suffer or to pay compensation. It can be said that criminal

or defect is both 1) pathological (a disease of the mind) and 2) endogenous (a disease resulting of
internal cause not external factors such as drugs or alcohol).
A defect of reason was experienced by Mr Mcbride when he shot his wife; Mrs Mcbride.
Evidence from a medical practitioner proved that Mr Mcbride knew that the act of killing his
wife was wrong. Nonetheless, he was unable to act in accordance with this knowledge. Mr
Mcbride was diagnosed with an endogenous depression during the act of killing his wife. It is the
endogenous depression that caused his incapacity to act lawfully at the time of the crime. Section

Children Who Suffer From Neglect Essay
Every year there are millions of children who suffer from an epidemic of child abuse and neglect
at the hands of the very people who they trust to love them and care for them. According to U.S.
Department of Health and Human Services (2011), child neglect accounted for 78.3% of all
reported cases of maltreatment. These statistics make neglectthe most common type of child
maltreatment, however it is often under recognized. The Department of Health (1999) refers to
neglect as the persistent failure to meet a child s basic physical and/or psychological needs, likely
to result in the serious impairment of the child s health or development. Physical, psychological,
medical, educational, and mental health, are the five major types of neglect identified by famed
psychologist Erik Erikson. Many children who suffer from neglect experience detrimental physical
and psychological consequences including, poor mental and emotional health, cognitive
difficulties, poor hygiene, hunger, inadequate language skills, illness, and even death. Children
who are young, irritable, disabled, or premature are more susceptible to neglect. In the article
Signs, Symptoms and Risk Factors: Health Visitors Perspectives of Child Neglect , Helen Herron
David Lewin and conducted a research study based on their expertise in the field of child
protection, the perceptions of experienced health visitors with respect to 45 signs, symptoms and
risk factors of child neglect derived from the literature (2007).

The Secret Of Relationship
Sacred Change
The secret of relationship, I believe, is about knowing who you are from day one. Knowing what
happened to you after day one and how it is affecting you and others throughout your life into now.
I believe, that most if not all the reasons why we have conflicts, is about unhealed childhood
wounds. I have found with my clients, and in my life, that nearly all the problems in relationships
have to do with unhealed childhood issues. When wounds are not healed they are projected onto
others and until we can own what is our behavior, we cannot get along and we cannot evolve, thus
the wars, internalized oppression, that is projected onto others. It doesn t matter what your faith is.
I am a student of Kabbalah, I still have a childhood, like everybody else, and most, if not all
families are unwittingly dysfunctional wound creators while simultaneously giving love and
support. Our spiritual work, I call it spirituality 101, is to assess our wounds, own them, express
them emotionally, understand them and grow to change them. We may never forget some of the
things that have happened to us, sexual abuse, war, death of parents, these being but a few of the
difficult things to remember, but we can still heal the damage and thereby project LIGHT instead of
a wounded history!
There are many ways to heal our childhood wounds but it can take a lifetime to resolve some of
them completely. I am astounded by the many ways, the extremely creative ways, that my
subconscious has

Tactical Intelligence Research Paper
Intelligence can have many meanings depending on how you use it, but it is a common mistake to
mix up intelligence as synonymous with information. This is wrong as, information is not
intelligence, which has caused the misuse of the phrase collecting intelligence instead of collecting
information. Intelligenceis a structure, a process and a product. In most police services, the
intelligence unit or section is a recognized internal organization with people, skills, methods and an
organizational structure. Although intelligence may be collected by and shared with intelligence
agencies and bureaus, field operations generally collect information or data. The distinction
between tactical and strategic intelligence is often misconstrued. Tactical... Show more content on

It allows a supportive and informed command structure and it often is the heart of an
organization‐wide approach to policing. Also it allows integrated crime and criminal analysis
with a focus on prolific and serious offenders. Both strategic and tactical tasking meetings take
place that allows data to be sufficiently complete, reliable and available to support quality products
that influence decision‐making when used with prevention, disruption and enforcement. These
benefits help prevent crime by creating a police force that is more efficient with its resources.
There is also a growing recognition within policing that external agencies may hold the key to
long term crime reduction. These agencies, such as local councils, housing authorities, and health
and education departments, are believed to have a greater potential to impact a wider range of
causal factors. (Ericson Haggerty, 2001) As agencies share information amongst each other, a
larger network of intelligence is created, which proponents hope, when used effectively, will cause
a substantial decrease in crime. (Ratcliffe, 2003) Task Forces are a major way to benefit from
intelligence. By sharing intelligence between federal, state and local law enforcement. These group
initiatives, give the ability to target a particular criminal activity, and often in a particular
geographical area. Combining these resources, the intelligence and the manpower of multiple law
enforcement agencies to focus on a particular problem is an effective way to combat

Government Aid And Assistance During The United States
Government aid/assistance, or as others may know it, welfare, was created in order to provide
assistance and aid to those in the community that may be unemployed or in need of assistance due
to a lack of income for both individuals as well as families. In the beginning it was the federal
government that managed the assistance program but that was only until the government assistance
reform took place, which sent the jurisdiction back down to the states. There was a strong urge
from the American citizens to reform the system due to the fact that many Americans believed that
the government assistance program was being abused by those utilizing the program. Many
Americans believed that those utilizing welfare were not looking for employment, not marrying in
order to gain more funding and actually having more children in order to qualify for more cash
assistance. Throughout this paper I will discuss each of the subsequent topics: a history of
government aid/assistance in the U.S., a synopsis of the situation that created the proposal as well
as the enactments of required drug testing, opinions in support of drug testing, ethical consequences
based on this proposal for individuals, for the society as a whole, and for public health. Government
Assistance Government Assistance throughout the U.S. is sometimes referred to as welfare or
government programs, these programs were created in order to help those that are unemployed or
have little income get by. Government Assistance,

How Does Williams Present Lust In Poetry
Love and literary works of poetry have been used together to portray one s feeling of admiration
or longing towards someone or something. Lust is typically looked down upon and with caution;
on the other hand, it can be seen as the protagonist of different verses. Imagist poet William Carlos
Williams approach to love is one society deems unconventional. There are rare occurrences where
both of these emotions are used simultaneously to describe what a person once shared with another
person. In his poem The Young Housewife, the underlying tone of lust can lead one to conclude
that a secret and past relationship, full of love and lust, existed between the speaker and a woman.
Williams uses both free verse and a descriptive choice of words, as... Show more content on

Williams poem The Young Housewife not only grants the reader visual stimulus, but also leaves
one wondering the truth behind the work. The poem begins with the speaker seeing the housewife
in her nightgown through the window, at ten A.M., and within that moment she walked outside
her house still dressed in her negligee. This suggests that the young housewife saw the speaker of
the poem driving past her house through the window. When the speaker mentions the housewife
was uncorseted, it indicates the lust the speaker has imagined when her body was seen since
being uncorseted has to do with the noticing and looking the upper body of a woman. The
speaker describes the young housewife tucking in the strands of her hair showing that the speaker
of the poem was able to get a look at the young housewife s appearance. The entire poem emits the
sensation of a brief moment of lust between the speaker and housewife as they drive by slowly
listening only to the sound of leaves crackling in that instant of

Marrying Absurd
Joan Didion s essay Marrying Absurd is a comical review of Las Vegas and its wedding business.
It gives the reader a more in depth look at the things they always expected were happening in
Nevada but were never concerned enough about to do the research. While I already knew most of
the information in the essay, Didion presented it in such an entertaining, sarcastic manner that I
was never bored. Without coming right out and saying just what she thought of the industry she
told us exactly how she felt about the Las Vegas spur of the moment way of life by choosing her
words very carefully. All of these services, like most others in Las Vegas...are offered twenty four
hours a day, seven days a week, presumably on the premise that... Show more content on

The picture of the wedding party sipping pink champagne (minus the bride who is too young to do
so) is classic and illustrates her points without her having to reiterate them. By mentioning that the
bride was several months pregnant she shows that the Las Vegas wedding is probably not the real
desire but the necessity, demonstrating that drunken impulse is

Jimmy Carter Failures
Jimmy Carter, the 39th president, was a very simple and relatable man from Plains, Georgia. His
ideals appealed to the Southern democrats. Washington was in chaos after the resignation of
Nixon and the citizens of America were tiered of the government s drama. This is what made
Carter so popular in the 1976 election. Carter appealed to America because he was an outsider to
Washington. He also wanted to comply with what the people wanted for America; Carter sought
to portray himself as a man of the people ( Jimmy Carter , 2009). He used the Watergate scandal

Since the distinction between input tests is not as much as a whole info sample, the quantity of bits required for transmission is diminished. As a result it reduces in throughput required to transmit the voice signals. Utilizing DPCM can lessen the bit rate of any voice transmission down to 48 kbps. Working and advantage: The initial segment of DPCM works precisely like PCM so called derived function PCM. • 4. World Is Flat Essay The phrase: the world is flat can be interpreted in many ways. Basically what Friedman means by flat is linked. The falling of trade and political barriers and technical advances have made it possible to do business, instantaneously with billions of other people around the world. It has allowed for parts of the world, which had previously been cut off, like China and India, to successfully compete in the world market. Thus, the playing field is being leveled, and no one nation has an advantage. Friedman could also refer to a flat world in a metaphorical sense. In a spherical earth you cannot see around the world and cannot recognize the opportunities far from where you live. If the world were flat you could see it all. There... Individuals could post their digital content so it could be accessed by almost anyone from any part of the globe. The commercial web browser was kicked off by Netscape. Netscape was a huge flattening force for many reasons. The Netscape browser not only brought the internet alive but also made it accessible to everyone. Individuals immediately found themselves hooked with anybody s website on the internet, and in no time, they were able to interact and be in touch with virtually anyone. Work flow software: In the late 90s, an abundance of application software hit the marketplace. The rise of this work flow software was a quiet revolution that took place with few people knowing about it. When it was finally made more public, its impact was overwhelming. This software enabled more people in more places to design, manage, and collaborate on business data in real time. This software could shape things, design things, create things, sell things, buy things, and keep track of things. It carried out transmission protocols and standards which allowed for businesses to work together to accomplish a common task. This contributed to the flattening of the world as more and more people were able to interact with this type of software. Uploading: Uploading harnesses the power of communities and ... • 5. The Industrialization Movement In the late 1800 s, a thing called Industrialization started to occur. Industrialization is when our economy went from an agriculture (farming) economy to an industrial (manufacturing) economy. There were many very important leaders in the industrialization movement in the late 1800 s. Andrew Carnegie, George Eastman, Henry Fordand J.D Rockefeller were all Captains of Industry and had a big impact on the industrialization movement and made it more positive than negative. • 6. Human Activity And Its Impact On Business Operations Accounting is said to be as old as any organized human activity. Dating back to Babylon and Humaraby s book of law, over Greece and Rome and further on through history, there has always been a need to record events referring to purchase and sale, payment and collection. Such recording originally generated bookkeeping, which at the level of development of production forces was primarily in function of trade and banking. Its further development was according to changes in organization of business activity (Andrijasevic, n.d.). According to Novicevic and Antic (1999), until the 70s enterprises in West countries carried out their business in protected competitive conditions. However, in today s global economy, markets have become universal, with organizations viewing the world as a platform for carrying out their diverse trades . To compete successfully in the global market, organizations/ businesses need to prioritize customer satisfaction parameters during business operations. To achieve this, they must concentrate on key success factors such as; costs efficiency, quality, cycle time, and innovativeness. Quality has become one of the key competitive variables generating the need for evaluation of spending resources needed for the given level of quality by which the company can expect and achieve competitive advantage on the market (Gajic, 2005). The improvement of quality requires the engagement of each player in the business arena, from the senior management to the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I always play the same position, second base,it is my favorite position to play.I love when the ball is hit to me and I can scoop it up and throw it to first. When we get three outs, we go to bat and I hit pretty good most of the time. When we start the game, we take the field first.I head out onto the field to play second base. When we go out there my friends play the bases around me, we talk and communicate to throw the ball to the right base. When the ball is hit to me, I always take a second to make sure that it is coming to me.If I catch the ball I throw it to first unless there was already a runner on first then I throw it to second. When I throw it to second the shortstop gets the ball, tags the base, and throws it to first so we can get a double play. When we get three outs we go up to bat. We get off the field, coach gets us together outside the dugout and tells us to hit the ball and we break it down. After we break it down we go into the dugout and we bat.Cameron my best friend is the first batter, then I am second.Cameron normally bunts because he is fast and can get to first before they throw him out. With Cameron at first I go up to bat and coach normally tells me to hit away.I ... Personal And Career Development Plan Assignment 6 Case Study Personal and Career Development Plan Murali Krishna Chagarlamudi CAR 100 600D Career Planning and Development Virginia International University Dr. Theresa Poussaint April 20, 2016 According to Maxwell and Knox (2009), academics and practitioners have extolled the potential benefits of having a well managed cooperate brand. They have also acknowledged that corporate branding brings new challenges that cannot be readily addressed within a traditional marketing framework, including a need to ensure that employee behavior is consistently aligned with the company s brand promise, but previous research has tended to focus on issues related to recruitment. As a result, little is known about how employer branding can actually be used to support the corporate brand. More specifically, researchers have yet to explain what makes an organization s employer brand attractive to current employees (Maxwell Knox, 2009). More specifically, theorists argue that a corporate brand should be closely aligned with the identity of the organization. Corporate brand communications may include symbolism and conventional communications such as advertising and PR. However, corporate branding also involves multiple stakeholders interacting with numerous staff in multiple departments across an organization it provides external stakeholders with information about the identity of the organization and if this information is not consistent with the advertised ... It began appearing (in an older form) in what is now Nepal around 300 C.E., when Hindu Indo Aryans invaded the area from the south, displacing the Buddhist Kirantis. The now unified Nepal is made up of over one hundred ethnic groups, each with its own language and culture. Nepali is the national unifying language and is spoken by most Nepalis as a first or second language (O Rourke and Shrestha 2008, 9). In addition, Nepali is spoken in other areas of the Himalayan region, including the southern part of Bhutan where it is the language of a substantial and oppressed minority called the Lhotshampa (Riccardi 2003, ... They have the distinct advantage in their new environment of having each other to converse with in their native tongue, though even their communication with each other has begun to pick up bits and pieces of an English lexicon. Nepali acts as a lingua franca in areas throughout the Himalayan region and has a long history of being imposed through military conquest and sustained by political domination. Because of this, there are a number of related dialects that are spoken apart from the standard form, though it is becoming increasingly standardized (Riccardi 2003, 540). It is hard to decipher, given my limited communicative ability with the students and their young age, whether their idiolects represent a non standard variety of the language or are representative of overall tendencies. Nepali is now one of the official languages of India and, like Hindi, it uses the Devanagari script (O Rourke and Shrestha 2008, 9). The alphabet has 67 characters, most of which, unlike English orthography, have a single pronunciation (O Rourke and Shrestha 2008, 15). Because of the differences in family traditions and values between the way the mothers had been raised in China and the way their daughters were growing up in America, there was bound to be a clash between the two generations. • 13. Alfred Adler s Birth Order Theory For the final presentation for this course, I have decided to discuss Alfred Adler s birth order theory. I essentially decided to choose this topic because I found it extremely intriguing on how someone s birth order could have a profounding effect on their personality. Also I was able to relate to this topic on a personal level compared to some of the other theories. Meaning, when learning and talking about birth order, as the first born in my family I was able to compare a lot of my traits to the ones described. It was interesting to see a psychologist create an actual theory trying to explain this idea. Which lead me to discuss in my presentation, how Adler developed this particular theory, its contributions to describing personality, and recent research advances. First, I will give a little biography of Adler and explain ow he got into the psychologyfield. Along with his reasons on focusing on family constellation, and he came to developing this distinct theory. As well as describing what birth order theory which points out the order of which children are born into the family. It mentions how each child possess certain personality traits simply on the order in which someone is born. Second, I will also discuss how this concept continues to have an influence in popular psychology. I will also be mention why this theory is considered to be conversional to some psychologist, and how it affects the research. Lastly, I will be talking about how birth order has impacted the ... All those paper people living in their paper houses, burning the future to stay warm (Green 57). This quote is from The #1 New York Times Bestseller, Paper Towns, written by John Green. In part one of this book, Quentin Jacobsen, the main character, lives in a subdivision in Florida named Jefferson Park. Quentin s miracle in life was his neighbor, Margo Roth Spiegelman. As time went passing by, their relationship slowly disintegrated during high school. One night, Margo decides to show up at Q s window and goes on a crazy adventure in the middle of the night. Perhaps, then, there is something to his advice that I should cease looking back so much, that I should adopt a more positive outlook and try to make the best of what remains of my day. After all, what can we ever gain in forever looking back and blaming ourselves if our lives have not turned out quite as we might have wished? The hard reality is, surely, that for the likes of you and I, there is little choice other than to leave our fate, ultimately, in the hands of those great gentlemen at the hub of this world who employ our services. It is this blind loyalty with which Stevens gratifies his employer and unables himself to look closely at what his employer really thinks or does (symptoms of dignity ). His doctrine states: It is, in practice, simply not possible to adopt such a critical attitude towards an employer and at the same time provide good service. It is not simply that one is unlikely to be able to meet the many demands of service at the higher levels while one s attentions are being diverted by such matters; more fundamentally, a butler who is forever attempting to formulate his own strong opinions on his employer s affairs is bound to lack one quality essential in all good professionals: namely, loyalty. (Ishiguro, 200) But the loyalty doctrine denies Stevens his own thoughts on, for instance, Darlington s letting go of the Jewish maids, or whether or not the great guests he has the honor or serving in his capacity as a great butler are really so great after all. Stevens detachment ultimately is chilling, for the distance that he believes is a necessary aspect of dignity, instead distances him even from the fact that this attitude of detachment is not great, but unhealthy. This sets a butler s dignity above human dignity, he realizes at the end, and human dignity must always come first: Lord Darlington wasn t bad man...And at least he had the privilege of being able to say at the end of his life that he made his own mistakes...He chose a ... • 17. Decolonization Of The Country Of Ghana One of the most desirable qualities to achieve is independence. Whether it be regarding intellectual, financial, or emotional aspects of life, striving for independence continues to be a universal concept. For the country of Ghana, independence became a necessity, and this type of freedom could only be obtained through a process called decolonization. Decolonization is when a country removes itself from a location it has colonized, leaving that location independent to govern over itself. The nature of this can be problematic, due to the extensive difficulties of creating a functional country with little time or practice. Decolonization originated from nationalist movements throughout the late 19th and early 20th century, and the observation of older colonies obtaining independence both inspired and guided the country of Ghana to do the same. Understanding that the rewards of decolonization far outweigh the problems it may bring is essential. The desire for decolonization began once countries realized that the colonizing countries were not invincible. Weaknesses were shown during World War II especially. Some of these weakness were the lack of attention and lack of control these colonizing countries had. The colonized people s thirst for independence on top of this vulnerability presented a perfect opportunity to begin independence movements. During the beginning of World War II, a document named the Atlantic Charter was created. This document described the goals of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This makes the persistence of slavery in today s world even more egregious. Even as laws banning slavery and its prohibition are enshrined in international instruments, notably the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, it is still practiced in many forms: traditional chattel slavery, bonded labour, serfdom, child labour, migrant labour, domestic labour, forced labour and slavery for ritual or religious purposes (Aronowitz, 3). The enslaving of humans has a history that date back to the Roman Empire and ancient Greece. In the 15th century the Europeans traded African Slaves. African slaves were the first slaves bought to the United States, even leading other Africans to sell their own race. Slavery has taken on various forms of the span of 6,000 years. Slavery is now referred to as human trafficking or modern day slavery . Forced labor is defined as all work or service which is extracted from any person under the menace of any penalty and for which the said person has not offered himself voluntarily (Aronowitz, 11). Not all persons in forced labor are trafficked and not all trafficked persons are enslaved. Humans are taken from their homes and stripped of their morals. Human trafficking begins with trust. When one sees some type of value in you to become a potential worker they will spare no expense in trying to earn your trust. They will promise you anything as far as a ... • 19. The Cherry Orchard The Cherry Orchard: Critical Analysis The Cherry Orchard by Anton Chekhov is about a Russian family that is unable to prevent its beloved estate from being sold in an auction due to financial problems. The play has been dubbed a tragedy by many of its latter producers. However, Chekhov labeled his play a farce, or more of a comedy. Although this play has a very tragic backdrop of Russia #8217;s casualty ridden involvement in both World Wars and the Communist Revolution, the characters and their situations suggest a light hearted tone, even though they struggle against the upcoming loss of the orchard. Apathy and passivity plague the characters and contribute often to the comic side of things. Sometimes, however, the passivity... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Another example of a character #8217;s inability to suppress foolishness is Yepikhodov #8217;s role of the #8220;unfortunate clod #8221; (Galens 21 39). He continues to stumble over furniture in each of his appearances. He is immediately dubbed #8220;Twenty two Calamities. #8221; Gayev #8217;s actions also provoke comedy in The Cherry Orchard. He is addicted to fruit candy and spends every cent he has on feeding his addiction. Another of his actions is his incisive billiard shot calls. Sparatically in the conversation or in mid sentence he will call a shot as if he has a cue in his hand at a pool hall. John Fiero writes in his critical analysis of The Cherry Orchard: Madame Ranevsky is a foolish woman only too anxious to return to a worthless young lover; Gayev is an amiable ass who talks too much; Anya is a goose and her Trofimov a solemn windbag; Lopakhin, the practical self made man, is confused and unhappy; Epihodov a clumsy idiot; Dunyasha a foolish girl; Yasha an insufferable jumped up lad; and Firs far gone in senility (Corbin, John 33 37). This quote shows the comic elements of the character #8217;s personalities and how they are put to work in the play. Apathy and passivity contrast the comic side of the characters by roping the tragedy back into focus. Mrs. Ranevsky is the biggest example of these qualities. The profession is often misconstrued with promoting the distribution of welfare. Often times, this stereotype amuses me because social work is remarkably so much more. Not only do people fail to realize that social work is one of the broadest occupations that offers various work environments, but also they neglect one of the key goals besides the act of helping: empowerment. Yes, the profession of social workstrives to provide the needy with physical resources to better improve their lives through numerous institutional and residual programs, yet the most valuable assets a worker can offer are abstract. Social workers are also supposed to educate people by giving them the skills to sustain themselves in society long after they have received their services. By empowering and teaching, social workers uplift and provide opportunity to those who are striving for more. Whether we know it or not, we all have an engrained sense to help others. Erosion and weathering are the main culprits behind the creation of these unique and beautiful attractions. The mechanical and chemical procedure that modify objects on Earth s surface over time are called weathering. Erosion is the method of taking weathered material from one region to another. Weathering is the breaking down of rock, soil, and minerals. Erosion is the development of being eroded by wind, water, or other natural causes. Weathering is grinding out of man made or natural landforms. Erosion is the weathering out of surface soil and rock worn way through natural causes like water and wind for example. Prior to the French Revolution, the word meant the process of coming a full cycle, or a return to a point previously occupied (Kirk 295). It is only after the chaotic French revolution which overturned the old political and social order in the country that revolution came to be known as a radical change in social and government institutions. Consequently, few social changes were needed in the eyes of the founders following the revolution (Schweikart and Dougherty 4). The American Revolution too was a case of exchanging the person of authority, the King, for someone else. Arendt did also note, however, that the people had never in the past been able to decide who should be their ruler and more significantly, to appoint a person from their own ranks for the business of the government. This may be considered, in the French sense of the word, revolutionary. If anything, it was one of the few revolutionary aspects of the American Revolution.

Consequently, the fluid moving over the top must travel faster in order to conform to the shape of the wing and still maintain the natural streamline. The shape of the wing also crowds the streamlines together above the wing, just as in the case of a constructing pipe. The result is that of the region immediately above the wing. Because the downward force on the top of the wing is less than the upward force on the bottom, a net upward force, or lift, arises from the airflow. (Beyond the airfoil the flowing air has a downward component of velocity. By Newton s third law, the reaction force to the net downward force exerted on the air is the lift.) For lift to occur, a flow of air is required relative to the wing. The lift occurs equally well for a wing moving through stationary air or for moving past a stationary wing. In general, as the flow of air past the wing increases, both the lift force and the drag force (the resistance to forward motion) increases. Fairbanks, Jr., has noted, The strange result is that the activity of the other side, and not one s own resources, plans, and motives, becomes the determinant of one s behavior. And what constitutes the finish line of the game is the province of assertion, rather than analysis. Many onlookers, and some participants, have claimed that the likelihood of war increases as the accumulation of arms proceeds apace. A close examination of the historical evidence reveals a different picture. Political purposes almost always drive and govern arms races. It is common for a major race to be initiated by a state interested in changing the political status quo. In some cases, the response of states content with the status quo is swift and resolute, but in other cases it is constrained by domestic political or economic considerations or diverted by diplomatic calculations. The course of an arms race has frequently exacerbated a sense of rivalry and occasionally even determined the timing of a war; but most often it has ended in a political settlement between rivals or in a decision by one side to moderate its buildup. I believe, that most if not all the reasons why we have conflicts, is about unhealed childhood wounds. I have found with my clients, and in my life, that nearly all the problems in relationships have to do with unhealed childhood issues. When wounds are not healed they are projected onto others and until we can own what is our behavior, we cannot get along and we cannot evolve, thus the wars, internalized oppression, that is projected onto others. This is wrong as, information is not intelligence, which has caused the misuse of the phrase collecting intelligence instead of collecting information. In most police services, the intelligence unit or section is a recognized internal organization with people, skills, methods and an organizational structure. It allows a supportive and informed command structure and it often is the heart of an organization‐wide approach to policing. Also it allows integrated crime and criminal analysis with a focus on prolific and serious offenders. Both strategic and tactical tasking meetings take place that allows data to be sufficiently complete, reliable and available to support quality products that influence decision‐making when used with prevention, disruption and enforcement. These benefits help prevent crime by creating a police force that is more efficient with its resources. There is also a growing recognition within policing that external agencies may hold the key to long term crime reduction. These agencies, such as local councils, housing authorities, and health and education departments, are believed to have a greater potential to impact a wider range of causal factors. Government Aid And Assistance During The United States Government aid/assistance, or as others may know it, welfare, was created in order to provide assistance and aid to those in the community that may be unemployed or in need of assistance due to a lack of income for both individuals as well as families. In the beginning it was the federal government that managed the assistance program but that was only until the government assistance reform took place, which sent the jurisdiction back down to the states. There was a strong urge from the American citizens to reform the system due to the fact that many Americans believed that the government assistance program was being abused by those utilizing the program. Many Americans believed that those utilizing welfare were not looking for employment, not marrying in order to gain more funding and actually having more children in order to qualify for more cash assistance. Lust is typically looked down upon and with caution; on the other hand, it can be seen as the protagonist of different verses. Imagist poet William Carlos Williams approach to love is one society deems unconventional. There are rare occurrences where both of these emotions are used simultaneously to describe what a person once shared with another person. The poem begins with the speaker seeing the housewife in her nightgown through the window, at ten A.M., and within that moment she walked outside her house still dressed in her negligee. This suggests that the young housewife saw the speaker of the poem driving past her house through the window. When the speaker mentions the housewife was uncorseted, it indicates the lust the speaker has imagined when her body was seen since being uncorseted has to do with the noticing and looking the upper body of a woman. The speaker describes the young housewife tucking in the strands of her hair showing that the speaker of the poem was able to get a look at the young housewife s appearance.
