How to Develop a Plot
How To Create A Plot Outline
I ll describe each of the eight elements in turn. If you already have an idea for a novel you re working
on, open your file or get a pad of paper or your writer s notebook. As you read through the rest of this
page, jot down ideas for how each element might work in your story. At the end, I ll show you how to
use your choices to create a brief, well rounded plot outline for your novel. If you don t have an idea
for a novel yet, just grab one from your imagination. It doesn t have to be good. It s just an exercise
after all.
On the other hand, if you already have a draft for a novel, that you re looking to revise, then ask
yourself, as we go through these elements, whether you have included them in ... Show more content

Or we could create a different Consequence. Her employer may go bankrupt unless it becomes more
family friendly.
Write a list of possible Consequences you could have in your plot outline. Then choose one to be the
counterpoint to your chosen Story Goal.
3. Requirements
The third element of your plot outline, Requirements, describes what must be accomplished in order to
achieve the goal. You can think of this as a checklist of one or more events. As the Requirements are
met in the course of the novel, the reader will feel the characters are getting closer to the attainment of
the goal.
Requirements create a state of excited anticipation in the reader s mind, as he looks forward to the
protagonist s success.
What could the Requirements be in our executive story? Well, if the goal is for our protagonist to find
true love, perhaps she will need to join a singles club or dating service so she can meet single men.
Perhaps she will need to take a holiday or leave of absence from her job.
Ask yourself what event(s) might need to happen for the goal in your novel to be achieved. List as
many possibilities as you can think of. To keep things simple for the moment, just choose one
requirement for now to include in your plot outline.

Theseus Character Analysis
Characterize the figure of Theseus.
Introduced as a conqueror...greater than any other beneath the sun, Thesëus, the wise and chivalrous
lord Athens, is a merciful and noble duke (Chaucer 24). As a wise and noble leader, Thesëus, with a
heart of pity, mends the ailments of his people, as he [is] a true knight. (26).
How does Theseus treat the mourning women who ask for help against the tyrant Creon? Thesëus
mercifully agrees to to get vengeance on the tyrant Creon, who [set] his dogs to eat the women s
husbands instead of burying them. Theseus mercy did not reach so far, as he went to Thebes to fight
and slay Creon manfully, like knight, / [i]n open war (26 27).

Arcita, now released, feels as though he [is] in the worse prison, now, and more forlorn than before
because of the absence of the sight of Emily, who now can only be seen by Palamon, in prison no
longer, but in paradise.
7. What is the situation of each knight at the close of Part One? What formal question is asked at the
end of the first part of the Knight s Tale? At the end of part one, Arcita leaves for Thebes, exiled
forever from Athens and distraught over never seeing his love again, while Palamon still lies in prison,
desolate without the company of his cousin, but still able to regale at the sight of Emily. The question
Who has the worse, Arcita or Palamon? allows the mind to wonder which fate is worse? Never seeing
your beloved, but living as a freeman, or imprisoned till death, but able to see the face or your love.
8. Provide evidence for any two characteristics of a romance evident so far. Refer to the prezi. A
romance requires the telling of a true story in remote places and times. The Knight s Tale begins with
the lines Once upon a time, to retell the old events of Theseus in the ancient city of Athens (24). The
Knight s tale meets the requirement of a medieval romance in the first sentence, as it opens with a tale
of a far off land in ancient times. Idealized aristocratic conduct, another requirement a medieval
romance must meet, becomes present

Analysis Of Louise Erdrich s A Healthy Way Essay
Louise Erdrich s Tracks occurs in the 1910s, in the midst of anti Native racism and government
sanctioned Indian boarding schools. The characters in Tracks must reconcile with their Native
American culture while also facing the constant threat to their culture. The characters in Tracks
attempt to understand and accept their cultural identities in a country doomed with racial tensions.
Napush is an example of a character who is able to positively accept his Native American identity in a
healthy way, while Pauline is an example of a character who is unable to accept her Native American
identity and reacts negatively to it. Nanapush and Pauline both come to terms with the anti Native
racism they encounter in drastically different ways. On one hand, Nanapush does not feel tempted by
the white culture that surrounds him. He actively attempts to embrace his Ojibwe identity, despite the
white culture that surrounds him. He can see the value in preserving his Native American heritage. In
contrast, Pauline actively rejects her Ojibwe identity in favor of attempting to create a new, white
identity for herself. She uses her highly religious nature to try and separate herself from her Native
American identity.
The racism and anti Native culture that surrounds Pauline eventually breaks her down and makes her
believe that she must become white. She even starts to believe that she must kill her inner Native
identity so that she can finally be accepted as a member of the white community.

Congress s Role In US Intelligence Reform
Empowered by its authority over budget funding , Congress came up in 1991 with enhanced formula
to streamline the information flow upon prevalence of extraordinary circumstances affecting vital
interests of the United States 9 The new formula authorized the President to bypass the full quorum of
the congressional intelligence committees, and only notify the Gang of Eight, and any other
congressional leaders he elects to inform. Members of the Gang of Eight include the chairmen and
ranking Members of the two congressional intelligence committees and the House and Senate majority
and minority leadership 10 (Erwin 2013, 1). Issues pertaining to Intelligence oversight are intricate ;
complicated at best and confusing at worst . By the virtue of its very nature , intelligence and open
scrutiny do not mix although that is what Congress is mandated to do . Historically , the debate over
Intelligence reform oversight was a bloody uphill battle between the legislative executive bodies . To

Kid Cuudi Meaning
The song, Pursuit of Happiness by Kid Cudi, contains many theme of dark life. The title of the song
defines the traditional purpose of living a life freely with joy and the way makes us happy. It is
obvious to assume that the title of this song sort of indicates a happy feeling towards the song,
however, after listening to the song couple times and analyzing the lyrics this song is not an uplifting
anthem rather it is fairly dark, depressing song despite the title. Having fame, being rich and doing
drugs does not define the way an individual achieves their Pursuit of happiness but to overcome these
obstacles is what leads us to achieve the happiness we desire. The lyrics of this song is infectious and
straightforward. The cues including volume, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The instruments in the song mes it exceptionally interesting and the verses additionally draw out the
dark theme of the song. Nonetheless, both version starts as slow but Lissie, who is a rock/pop vocalist,
kind of takes the first form to a quick paced tune with the coordination of her band. The expansion of
drums and the melodic guitar sounds changes the entire state of mind of the tune from the first, Lissie,
utilizing her own particular vocal voice and her style of singing to decide an alternate topic of the
tune, drawing out a high and substantial tone. In other words, Kid Cudi`s original melody throughout
the song is played by a piano and that tune remains consistent to the end. Which is changed from
piano to a Guitar that essentially plays the main background tone of the cover song, the pitch of the
guitar begins from a moderate pitch and ends on a very high rock pitch. This is one of the fundamental
contrasts between the two versions, the pitch distinction of a similar melody. The cover version
changes the understanding of the original version which separates the voice style of two distinct
artists, changes from electronic hip hop style to forming a rock and pop version. The inclination and
felling of both renditions remain practically the same because there is no change to the lyrics and both
artists kept the feeling kept the feeling at a similar level. Along these

How Did Slavery Affect Early American Economy
The slavery was always a great part of early American economy but with the development of
capitalism the view on slavery had been changed. Between The Revolution and Civil War, during the
period known as market revolution , American economy has been swiftly transforming, and the
changes broke up the country into North and South. This division was determined by the different
approaches to the economic growth and labor organization. Northern economy has been converted
into new commercial economy with new wages paid labor organization. Southern economy remained
depended on slavery. The economy of North rapidly grew, and there was great demand for labor. The
growth of transportation, communication, network of roads, canals, and railroads, and new plants and

The growth in cotton and crops production did not cause the change in economic system, but caused
the increase in demand in slaves. Cotton boom required more production, and more production
required more labor that meant more slaves. The number of slaves increased from 700.000 in 1790 to
more than 1,5 million by 1820. For Southern states the idea of abolition was something incredible and
impossible. Southern planters saw slavery as the only way of labor organization for black people.
They believed that the slavery was the only conditions in which blacks could exist and that is why
they could not be freed they did not fit for freedom. Slaves were considered as property and therefore
could not be treated as free people. For Southern planters the violence, both physical and sexual, was
the norms of morality, they believed that as soon as slaves are property they could not have feelings
and emotions and all what blacks need was to be feed, dressed, and have shelter. Since Southern
planters gave this basics to slaves they thought that slaves should be happy and

Managing Virtual Teams
Managing Virtual Teams
1. Introduction
Virtual teams have emerged to mitigate the challenges of managing teams that are distributed across
different regions, and are a sustainable component of global business. A project manager managing a
virtual team would have to integrate communication strategies, project management techniques
including human and social processes in order to support the team, (Kimball, 1997). The author is a
project manager assigned to lead a virtual team of 300 volunteers located across the globe to develop
recommendations for regulating carbon emissions in the world. As indicated Kimball (1997), this kind
of a virtual team usually supports people working in the same professional field and most of the ...

This would minimize the crossing of time zones and the process can increase team effectiveness. The
author, as a project manager can establish a common time to interact face to face through video
conferencing.
b) Different cultural and language issues
Working with 300 individuals from across the globe requires a project manager to be aware of
different cultural and language issues. These individuals would have different ways of working,
thinking and also reporting differently. Integrating the work that has been submitted would be a
challenge as there will be no time to develop a common language. In order to solve this issue the team
needs to develop an open culture so that everyone can openly share information and not tolerate a
blame game.
c) Learning the new technology
It will be a problem if team members do not understand the virtual working process, which can hinder
communication therefore affecting team relationships. Team members must be oriented to the virtual
working process before the project commence so that they have enough time to ask. The author should
develop a support mechanism for the team to use when experiencing difficulties.
4. Motivating individuals to archive the project goal
These volunteers can be motivated by highlighting to them that, this is an opportunity for them to

Dr. Scott Peck The Myth Of Romantic Love
In today s society people are desperately searching for true love with the perfect mate. But, from an
excerpt I read today I learned that true love is not real. The excerpt was titled The Myth of Romantic
Love written by Dr. Scott Peck. In this excerpt Dr. Scott Peck was explaining why true love isn t real.
One example of why true love isn t real is because of our favorite childhood fairy tales, when the
princess and the prince live happily ever after. I agree with Dr. Scott because I realized true love isn t
real after I saw my grandmother break up with my grandfather.
Dr. Scott Peck explained some of his ideas about what he thinks is the main cause of people believing

Innate Essay
Innate or learned behavioural responses can be observed in a neural representation of the sensory
world. Naïve animals, which are without prior learning or experience, show an innate response to a
sensory stimulus suggesting that they are mediated by genetically determined neural circuits. Most
sensory stimuli, however, show an experience dependent response, allowing an organism to respond
appropriately in a variable and uncertain world. Thus, behav ioural relevance to sensory cues is mostly
acquired through learning. In Drosophila melanogaster, different forms of learning have been
observed in response to a number of sensory stimuli. The mushroom body (MB), in insects, is
responsible for memory formation and retrieval.

Most antennal lobe projection neurons (PNs) extend their dendrites to a single glo¬merulus while their
axons bifurcate to innervate the lateral horn and the MB of the brain. The lateral horn is thought to
mediate innate behaviours, whereas the MB translates olfactory sensory information into learned
behavioural responses. On the activation from an odorant, PN axons synapse onto the den¬drites of
the Kenyon cells (KCs) in the MB calyx. According to anatomical and physiological studies, each KC
is said to receive, on an average, 6.4 inputs from a random combination of glo¬meruli which indicates
that knowledge of a single input to the KC cannot provide information about all the additional inputs
and these connections differ in different flies.
The γ, α′/β′, and α/β lobes of the MB are formed from three classes of KCs that extend their parallel
fibers to these lobes and form synapses with a relatively small number of MB output neurons
(MBONs). The MBONs extend their dendrites into the MB lobes, while their axons are projected to
the neuropils which lie outside the MB. Modulatory input neurons which include the dopaminergic
neurons (DANs) and octo¬paminergic neurons, also innervate the MB lobes. The MBONs and DANs
extend their processes to locations such that they define spatially restricted subdomains in each lobe.
DANs are modulatory neurons of the MB that are most prevalent.

The Economic Factors And Aspects Of The French Industrial...
The Industrial Revolution in France occurred after the other revolutions throughout Europe; however,
they experienced an increase of the pace of their industrialism despite not exactly developing as
quickly as other countries in Europe. The competition from the other industries seen in foreign areas
caused the revolution in France. Unfortunately, many people with specialized, artisanal skills had to
give up their trade. The largest shift of this nature was those who spun cotton and wool had to give
their consumers and production over to the developing textile industry. The cottage industries, those
jobs completed from one s home, in France became extremely difficult for citizens. Those who
worked in those industries could not find jobs that paid enough for survival. Degradation of the family
economy gave rise to cultural shifts in the working class as families had less control over their lives.
Many men were forced to make more money by traveling with the construction industry to build
methods for transportation like railways and canals. Their industrial revolution also spawned the
creation of poor and middle class as well as recurring and violent labor strikes. The living conditions
of workers in France spiraled as wages decreased and starvation became commonplace. Production,
factories, and workers became more expensive as the skill needed to perform jobs decrease. Despite
all the negative aspects of the French industrial revolution, France was also a capital for

commonly used and abused drug among youth in the United States . Also, the legal drinking age is 21
and people 12 to 20 are 11% consumers of alcohol. Then before this study in 2010 drinking took 4,300
lives of youth each year. It s a proven fact that most underage drinkers consume more drinks then
adult drinkers. In 2010 189,000 emergency room visits were for underage drinkers or condition
dealing with underage drinkers. Then another study in 2015 had a survey that was given to high
school students showed 33% of students drank 18% binge drink 8% drove after drinking 20% rode
with a driver who had drunk. High school students who drink are most likely to have school
problems, higher absence and poor or failing grades, social problems, fighting, lack of participation in
youth activities, legal problems, getting arrested for driving or physically hurting someone while
drunk, physical problems, hangovers or illnesses, unplanned, and unprotected sexual activity.

Night Of The Long Knives Essay
By the end of 1933 Hitler s power was extensive but not total. His power was potentially at risk from
three sources: the President, the army and his SA (Stormtroopers). Hindenburg could still, in theory,
dismiss Hitler and the other Nazi s in the cabinet, the army could use its strength to force Hitler from
office and the SA could endanger Hitler s relations with the army by carrying out further acts of
hooliganism and demanding more power for themselves. By the end of 1934, all three problems had
been largely solved due to the Night of the long Knives. After the Reichstag election of July 1932, the
Nazi s were the largest single party but not a majority party. Hindenburg allowed Von Papen who was

It helped Hitler to establish his dictatorship as all men in the army swore a personal oath to Hitler.
Although, there were other events too that helped Hitler to consolidate his power such as The
Reichstag Fire, The Enabling Act etc. The night of the long knives was very important because of the
various reasons listed below. The army supported Hitler when he proclaimed himself as the Führer
(leader) of Germany. The army also had the power to remove all the opponents. The murders of
General Von Schleicher and Von Kahr demonstrated that any resistance from within the army would
be brutally put down. This caused a fear in people s mind and they were scared to act against Hitler.
Therefore the night of the long also resulted in reducing Hitler s opponents. One of the most
significant outcomes of the night of the long knives was that Hitler gained support of the rich
industrialists, who further helped him to establish his power. He was also able to ban all other political
parties besides the Nazi s. Therefore, the night of the long knives helped Hitler to gain support of
many people and become the supreme dictator of Germany. Hitler rewarded the SS for their loyalty
and for carrying out the purge. Therefore Hitler got the chance to build up his new group, the SS. He
also apprised the SS that they could be an independent force. By 1936 1937, Himmler would complete

Catalase Experiment
Discussion: According to the experiment, the highest reaction rate occurred when the enzyme,
Catalase, was 50% concentrated (see Fig.3). However, all of the rates were fairly similar no matter the
concentration, except for the test with 0% concentration. That test resulted in no production of Oxygen
because there was no enzyme for the Hydrogen peroxide to react to so nothing occurred in the testing
container (see Fig. 1). In Fig. 2, you can see that all of the concentrations, aside from 0%
concentration all produced very similar amounts of Oxygen even though there was not as much of the
enzyme in the tests that we added water to in order to change the concentration. The water took the
place of a portion of the enzyme, or all of it, to keep a constant volume of enzyme mixture and to see
how changing the amount enzymes. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We used this information to form our hypothesis, which was that the 100% concentration test would
have the highest reaction rate because the more enzyme is the more active sites there are, so more
reactions can occur, and the the Hydrogen peroxide will be decomposed faster, giving it a higher rate.
However, the results of our experiment did not support this. Like explained before, the test that
resulted in the highest rate was the one with 50% concentration. It is unknown why this occurred. The
sources provided in class, a graph, showed that there should be linear growth between concentration
and rate, which supports our hypothesis. Fig. 2 shows that the reaction rate plateaus towards the end of
the 50 seconds, but this is because of the limited and constant amount of substrate, so it slowed down
when the Hydrogen peroxide ran out. Our data did not support our hypothesis, but the class source

Geography for the Aztecs was quite different from the other city states in Mexico. The Aztecs had to

Ahab as the Hero of Moby Dick Essay
Ahab as the Hero of Moby Dick
One might think it a difficult task to find a tragic hero hidden in the pages of Moby Dick. Yet, there is
certainly potential for viewing Ahab as heroic despite unfavorable responses to him by the reader.
In the original formula coming from the Greeks, the tragic hero had to be a high born individual of
elevated status possessed of a fatal flaw which resulted in their downfall. With Othello Shakespeare
redefined elevated status to include position alone rather than being linked to societal or birth status.
In this way it was possible for Othello as the military leader to be the tragic hero despite being an
outsider in the composition of the society. Melville follows this example in Moby Dick. ... Show more

The flaw itself [is] a pride that challenges the very nature of things . . . (Millhauser 76). Ahab, deluded
by the prophecies of Fedallah, comes to view himself as immortal, able to overcome anything. Within
the dramatic tradition, the heroic idea of being above everything else is a recurring theme. Ahab s
flaw, akin to madness . . . involves equally Ahab s imposing spiritual stature and his inexorable fate
(Millhauser 76). Ahab is blinded by his pride which prevents him from seeing any other path of action
or alternative meanings for events that occur other than the one he chooses to fit with his
monomaniacal pursuit of Moby Dick.
These two areas of elevated position and a fatal character flaw as outlined by Millhauser and Melville,
within the novel itself, distinctly set Ahab off as a potentially heroic character. Ahab is driven to a
confrontation with his adversary by a force never clearly spelled out for the reader. However, much is
made of the loomings of fate in the lives of men. Further reference is made to the prophecy of
Fedallah. Because we pick up the story near the end (from Ahab s perspective), it is difficult to
ascertain his full motivations. Along with this fact, it becomes difficult to determine whether Ahab is
shaping or controlling his own destiny or not. Moby Dick is Ahab s nemesis. Again Melville is never
clear in spelling out how the white whale is to be interpreted.

the conclusion that early in Charlie s life his aunt abuses him. He previously has suicidal attempts
because he gets to think that Aunt Helen s death is his fault. Being so young and naïve, he does not
acknowledge that his favorite aunt has sexually abused him. He hates her so much because she is
hurting him, but at the same time he loves her because she is good to him. These mix feelings drives
him crazy and makes a negative impact in Charlie s emotions and

Analysis Of Meret-It-It-Es
Meret it es is a mummy showcased at the Nelson Atkins Museum of Art. In the Egyptian section, the
museum showed the multiple parts created for Meret it es burial. Beside the body, other items are
placed in the inner coffin. It consists of a gold cartonnage on top of the mummy and 100 ushebtis
surrounding the body to assist during her travels in the afterlife ( Egyptian Art , 2015). Next, the inner
coffin gets placed in the outer coffin with two inches to spare on each side (Roastofer, 2015). All
artifacts were beautifully crafted, but I m going to focus primarily on the inner coffin of Meret it es
and its representations. The inner coffin was found lying on its back. It was created around 380 BC

Starting from the front top of the coffin, it has a sculpted head showing the face of the Pharaoh. It is
covered in gold leaf to represent the color of the skin glowing in the sun. On top of the head is a
headdress of wings and dung beetle in the center. The dung beetle placed in two places and both are to
represent reviving Meret it es. Going below the neck is a picture of Meret ie es on the right dress in
white asking the god to be let into the afterlife. Underneath the picture, it shows detailed patterns I
believe to represent jewelry she would have worn. Moving down the body, another set of wings and a
dung beetle are placed near her heart. The dung beetle is holding a circle which I believe is to
represent the heart of reviving her. Next is a woman with her wings open. Rosalie mentioned that the
woman would close her wings at night and open them to wake up Meret it es. Across the pelvis shows
a dead Meret it es with two women on each side mourning for her. Underneath that is Thoth, god of
wisdom and writing. He is using an instrument to write that her spirit may enter the next world.
Towards the bottom of her feet is hieroglyphs and a man on a boat with papyrus flowers.
Unfortunately, I don t know what the hieroglyphs; however, the boat represents the man taking her to

American President Pros And Cons
I feel that it is extremely important to show the way the president has been behaving or acting because
it is concerning how he likes to talk about banning Muslims from the seven countries like Syria, Iran,
Yemen, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, and Iraq. There was also a time where a judge called Gonzalo Curiel,
was presiding over a case against Trump University, he went to say that He s a Mexican, Trump told
CNN. We re building a wall between here and Mexico. The answer is, he is giving us very unfair
rulings, rulings that people can t even believe. Claiming that a person can t do their job because of
their race is sort of like the textbook definition of a racist comment, House Speaker Ryan said, though
he clearly endorsed Trump. When asked by CNN s Jake Tapper if he would condemn Duke and say he

Essay about The Fight Against Child Pornography
In recent years, pornography has established itself as perhaps the most controversial topic arising out
of the use of the Internet. The easy availability of this type of sexually explicit material has caused a
panic among government officials, family groups, religious groups and law enforcement bodies and
this panic has been perpetuated in the media.
One of the unique challenges to regulating or settling on the appropriate way to regulate is that there is
no concrete definition of pornography. While law enforcement bodies such as the police, prosecutors
and judges, are accustomed to dealing with issues that are exclusive to the United States, the Internet
is a worldwide community with servers and members coming ... Show more content on

The second real issue is finding a way to regulate and enforce the removal of material that is agreed
upon as being inappropriate for anyone to have on the Internet. I am specifically touching on the issue
of child pornography. While it is illegal in the United States, as it is in many countries, government
and law enforcement officials are having a difficult time catching offenders who post this type of
material. So with this type of problem concerning pornography this issue is not deciding on
appropriate means of regulation, but rather how to enforce the regulation already in place.
It is obvious that for years, the government has been trying to regulate this type of content but has
seen very limited success. Part of the reason for this is because certain regulatory actions intended to
protect only a small group, such as children, should not require the prohibition of material that adults
have access to in other arenas. It is for example, legal for people to rent pornographic movies or buy
nude magazines, so distribution of this type of material on the Internet should not be completely
limited. People shouting out for protection of their 1st Amendment rights have made a good point
when arguing against complete censorship. What seems more feasible is a sort of multi layered
approach to regulate illegal and harmful content on the Net. This would make it possible to form some
sort of insulation for children

Compare And Contrast Corrie Ten Boom And Elie Wiesel
No where near as many people survived the Holocaust as the number that represents the people that
died in it. Some survivors of the attempted genocide let their lives end at the Holocaust and kept living
in the past, others let it inspire them to move forward and help others. Two such people are Corrie Ten
Boom and Elie Wiesel.
Cornelia Ten Boom, known as Corrie, was born April fifteenth, 1892 in Haarlem, Netherlands. She
lived with her father, Caspar, her older siblings, Betsie, Nollie and Willem and her three aunts. Her
whole family was part of the Dutch Reform Church and was very religious and part of that was

The Importance Of Inventory Management
Generally, most of the inventory costs are not always fixed due to uncertainty of competitive market.
In the existing literature, it is found that several researchers have worked on uncertainty considering
inventory parameters as fuzzy valued. In this work, we have represented the inventory parameters as
interval. Using this concept, we have developed a two warehouse inventory model with advanced
payment, partial backlogged shortage. Due to uncertainty, this problem cannot be solved by existing
direct/indirect optimization technique. For this purpose, different variants of particle swarm
optimization technique (viz. PSO CO, WQPSO and GQPSO) have been developed to solve the
problem of the proposed inventory model by using interval ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Again, Taleizadeh et al. [6] has formulated an inventory model taking jointly price, replenishment
frequency, and replenishment cycle and production rate and optimized it. Tsao [7] has made an
inventory model which helps for a decision to find joint location, inventory, and preservation facility
under delay in payments condition. Shaikh et al. [8] have proposed an economic order quantity model
for deteriorating item with preservation technology investment. Shaikh et al.[9] have again explored
another inventory model with non instantaneous deterioration inventory model with price and stock
dependent demand for fully backlogged shortages under inflation. Subsequently, Pal [10] has
discussed a stochastic production inventory model for deteriorating item with finite life cycle. Except
the earlier mentioned work, many other researchers have also developed the inventory model
considering deterioration as a factor. Here we have cited few of them in Table 1.
Another factor in inventory management is availability of physical space to store the goods for smooth
running the business. In this regard, two warehouse system facilities is in the eye of business
organization. In a two warehouse system there are

Look Pass The Label By Paul Gauguin
Look Pass the Label
A few weeks ago, I visited the Museum of Modern Art. As I was going through the second exhibition
a particular painting caught my attention. Still life with three puppies by Paul Gauguin was titled. My
first encounter with this painting was through the title, which made me create negative hypothesis on
what the painting was depicting. When looking at this painting all I could think about was my lack of
fascination towards animals, especially puppies, while the person standing next to me was sighing and
smiling about according to her how cute the puppies are . Unlike that person, I am not an admirer of
puppies and as result I move quickly from the painting. However, as I made a second round on the
exhibition, this time when I saw the painting I was beginning to notice things like shapes, symbols and
colors and immediately forgot about my initial reaction. I begin to realize that there might be more to
the painting than what I originally saw, but I have been blind from my initial judgments.
In my second observation I was able to look pass this initial judgments drawn by the title. The title
Still Life with Three Puppies confirm my assumptions about the painting and prevented me from
continuing seeing what the painting is trying to depict. This name limited my thinking and didn t
allow me to see the painting from what it is.
In the still life with three puppies, Paul Gauguin painted the entire canvas white and then added some
color by painting blue

Compare And Contrast Freud Vs Hobsbawm
Philosophers Sigmund Freud and Eric Hobsbawm present two explanations of the origins of
civilization in their books Civilization and its Discontent and Nations and Nationalism since 1780,
respectively. In doing so, each philosopher establish a distinct, and somewhat similar, definition of
civilization. According to Freud, civilization describes the whole sum of the achievements and the
regulations which distinguish our lives from those of our animal ancestors. (Freud, 63) There are
distinct features of a civilization, such as beauty, the encouragement of man s higher mental activities
his intellectual, scientific and artistic achievements (Freud, 69) and the social relations between men.
While Freud refers to this union of a group ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Hobsbawm emphasizes that proto nationalism was the mobilizing (of) certain variants of feelings of
collective belonging which already existed and which could operate, as it were, potentially on the
macro political scale which could fit in with modern states and nations. (Hobsbawm, 52) The
consciousness, therefore, of belonging to a nation requires the citizens of a country (to become) a sort
of community, though an imagined one, and its members therefore found themselves seeking for and
consequently finding, things in common, places, practices, personages, memories, signs and symbols.
(Hobsbawm, 90) This foundational development is essentially one of patriotism, in which the
individual evokes a feeling of loyalty and pride in their nation through symbols, language and
ethnicity. While these feelings of pro nationalism may occur, if an individual is, for instance, to have
thoughts of desire to burn the national flag or act in an anti nationalist way, then they will have
feelings of guilt. Freud explains that the origins of the sense of guilt (are): one arising from fear of an
authority, and the other, later on, arising from fear of the super ego. (Freud, 119) The state, therefore,
is the super ego that oppresses the Id of the individual who has these perverted thoughts. One can
additionally apply this to the original ways in which

Fiscal Policy as an Economic Stabilization Measure
FISCAL POLICY AS AN ECONOMIC STABILIZATION MEASURE
Fiscal Policy refers to the various decisions undertaken by the government regarding public
expenditures and revenue. There are a large number of sub policies that are encompassed by the fiscal
system. But all the policies can be broadly categorized as being either Public Expenditure or Public
Revenue . It can be said that the fiscal policy is a direct government intervention in the economic
processes of an economy.
The fiscal policy is very objective in nature, since it creates decisions that can be uniformly applied to
the entire economy or to a segment of the economy. The fiscal policy is considered to be more direct
than the monetary policy in its impact on the economy. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, it should be noted that the increase in the interest rate has brought about a disincentive for
the private sector within the economy. The private investors are dissuaded from borrowing the
investible funds lying with the financial system, since the ROI is too high and so unattractive for them.
Had the shifting of the IS curve not caused the interest rate to rise (i.e., the ROI was fixed at OI1),
then given the new IS situation, the economy would have been at equilibrium at E3 and the income
would have risen to OY3. Thus, we see that an expansionary fiscal policy has reduced the possibility
of creating income up to OY3 hence, Y2Y3 represents the amount of additional income lost i.e., the
Crowding out Effect .
Showing the COE with the help of AD function:
The fiscal policy, with a constant money supply, is less expansionary than it would have been if the
money supply were increased to keep the ROIs constant as income expanded. Hence, the fall in
income by Y1Y2 is the crowding out effect.
Showing the COE with the help of the PPF:
But as soon as an expansionary fiscal policy causes the government spending to increase to g2, the
private sector s spending falls to h2. Therefore, amh2h1 is indicative of the extent of the crowding out
effect of the fiscal policy.

  • 2. How to Develop a Plot How To Create A Plot Outline I ll describe each of the eight elements in turn. If you already have an idea for a novel you re working on, open your file or get a pad of paper or your writer s notebook. As you read through the rest of this page, jot down ideas for how each element might work in your story. At the end, I ll show you how to use your choices to create a brief, well rounded plot outline for your novel. If you don t have an idea for a novel yet, just grab one from your imagination. It doesn t have to be good. It s just an exercise after all. On the other hand, if you already have a draft for a novel, that you re looking to revise, then ask yourself, as we go through these elements, whether you have included them in ... Write a list of possible Consequences you could have in your plot outline. Then choose one to be the counterpoint to your chosen Story Goal. 3. Requirements The third element of your plot outline, Requirements, describes what must be accomplished in order to achieve the goal. You can think of this as a checklist of one or more events. As the Requirements are met in the course of the novel, the reader will feel the characters are getting closer to the attainment of the goal. Requirements create a state of excited anticipation in the reader s mind, as he looks forward to the protagonist s success. What could the Requirements be in our executive story? Well, if the goal is for our protagonist to find true love, perhaps she will need to join a singles club or dating service so she can meet single men. Perhaps she will need to take a holiday or leave of absence from her job. Ask yourself what event(s) might need to happen for the goal in your novel to be achieved. List as many possibilities as you can think of. To keep things simple for the moment, just choose one requirement for now to include in your plot outline. 4. Introduced as a conqueror...greater than any other beneath the sun, Thesëus, the wise and chivalrous lord Athens, is a merciful and noble duke (Chaucer 24). As a wise and noble leader, Thesëus, with a heart of pity, mends the ailments of his people, as he [is] a true knight. (26). How does Theseus treat the mourning women who ask for help against the tyrant Creon? Thesëus mercifully agrees to to get vengeance on the tyrant Creon, who [set] his dogs to eat the women s husbands instead of burying them. What is the situation of each knight at the close of Part One? What formal question is asked at the end of the first part of the Knight s Tale? At the end of part one, Arcita leaves for Thebes, exiled forever from Athens and distraught over never seeing his love again, while Palamon still lies in prison, desolate without the company of his cousin, but still able to regale at the sight of Emily. The question Who has the worse, Arcita or Palamon? allows the mind to wonder which fate is worse? Never seeing your beloved, but living as a freeman, or imprisoned till death, but able to see the face or your love. 8. Provide evidence for any two characteristics of a romance evident so far. Refer to the prezi. A romance requires the telling of a true story in remote places and times. The Knight s Tale begins with the lines Once upon a time, to retell the old events of Theseus in the ancient city of Athens (24). • 6. Analysis Of Louise Erdrich s A Healthy Way Essay Louise Erdrich s Tracks occurs in the 1910s, in the midst of anti Native racism and government sanctioned Indian boarding schools. The characters in Tracks must reconcile with their Native American culture while also facing the constant threat to their culture. The characters in Tracks attempt to understand and accept their cultural identities in a country doomed with racial tensions. Napush is an example of a character who is able to positively accept his Native American identity in a healthy way, while Pauline is an example of a character who is unable to accept her Native American identity and reacts negatively to it. Nanapush and Pauline both come to terms with the anti Native racism they encounter in drastically different ways. On one hand, Nanapush does not feel tempted by the white culture that surrounds him. He actively attempts to embrace his Ojibwe identity, despite the white culture that surrounds him. He can see the value in preserving his Native American heritage. In contrast, Pauline actively rejects her Ojibwe identity in favor of attempting to create a new, white identity for herself. She uses her highly religious nature to try and separate herself from her Native American identity. The racism and anti Native culture that surrounds Pauline eventually breaks her down and makes her believe that she must become white. She even starts to believe that she must kill her inner Native identity so that she can finally be accepted as a member of the white community. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The expansion of drums and the melodic guitar sounds changes the entire state of mind of the tune from the first, Lissie, utilizing her own particular vocal voice and her style of singing to decide an alternate topic of the tune, drawing out a high and substantial tone. Between The Revolution and Civil War, during the period known as market revolution , American economy has been swiftly transforming, and the changes broke up the country into North and South. Northern economy has been converted into new commercial economy with new wages paid labor organization. Southern economy remained depended on slavery. For Southern states the idea of abolition was something incredible and impossible. Southern planters saw slavery as the only way of labor organization for black people. They believed that the slavery was the only conditions in which blacks could exist and that is why they could not be freed they did not fit for freedom. Slaves were considered as property and therefore could not be treated as free people. Introduction Virtual teams have emerged to mitigate the challenges of managing teams that are distributed across different regions, and are a sustainable component of global business. A project manager managing a virtual team would have to integrate communication strategies, project management techniques including human and social processes in order to support the team, (Kimball, 1997). The author is a project manager assigned to lead a virtual team of 300 volunteers located across the globe to develop recommendations for regulating carbon emissions in the world. These individuals would have different ways of working, thinking and also reporting differently. Integrating the work that has been submitted would be a challenge as there will be no time to develop a common language. In order to solve this issue the team needs to develop an open culture so that everyone can openly share information and not tolerate a blame game. c) Learning the new technology It will be a problem if team members do not understand the virtual working process, which can hinder communication therefore affecting team relationships. Team members must be oriented to the virtual working process before the project commence so that they have enough time to ask. In this excerpt Dr. Scott Peck was explaining why true love isn t real. One example of why true love isn t real is because of our favorite childhood fairy tales, when the princess and the prince live happily ever after. • 12. Innate Essay Innate or learned behavioural responses can be observed in a neural representation of the sensory world. Naïve animals, which are without prior learning or experience, show an innate response to a sensory stimulus suggesting that they are mediated by genetically determined neural circuits. Most sensory stimuli, however, show an experience dependent response, allowing an organism to respond appropriately in a variable and uncertain world. Thus, behav ioural relevance to sensory cues is mostly acquired through learning. In Drosophila melanogaster, different forms of learning have been observed in response to a number of sensory stimuli. Most antennal lobe projection neurons (PNs) extend their dendrites to a single glo¬merulus while their axons bifurcate to innervate the lateral horn and the MB of the brain. The lateral horn is thought to mediate innate behaviours, whereas the MB translates olfactory sensory information into learned behavioural responses. On the activation from an odorant, PN axons synapse onto the den¬drites of the Kenyon cells (KCs) in the MB calyx. According to anatomical and physiological studies, each KC is said to receive, on an average, 6.4 inputs from a random combination of glo¬meruli which indicates that knowledge of a single input to the KC cannot provide information about all the additional inputs and these connections differ in different flies. The γ, α′/β′, and α/β lobes of the MB are formed from three classes of KCs that extend their parallel fibers to these lobes and form synapses with a relatively small number of MB output neurons (MBONs). The MBONs extend their dendrites into the MB lobes, while their axons are projected to the neuropils which lie outside the MB. Modulatory input neurons which include the dopaminergic neurons (DANs) and octo¬paminergic neurons, also innervate the MB lobes. The MBONs and DANs extend their processes to locations such that they define spatially restricted subdomains in each lobe. DANs are modulatory neurons of the MB that are most prevalent. ... • 13. The Economic Factors And Aspects Of The French Industrial... The Industrial Revolution in France occurred after the other revolutions throughout Europe; however, they experienced an increase of the pace of their industrialism despite not exactly developing as quickly as other countries in Europe. The competition from the other industries seen in foreign areas caused the revolution in France. Unfortunately, many people with specialized, artisanal skills had to give up their trade. The largest shift of this nature was those who spun cotton and wool had to give their consumers and production over to the developing textile industry. The cottage industries, those jobs completed from one s home, in France became extremely difficult for citizens. Those who worked in those industries could not find jobs that paid enough for survival. Degradation of the family economy gave rise to cultural shifts in the working class as families had less control over their lives. Many men were forced to make more money by traveling with the construction industry to build methods for transportation like railways and canals. Their industrial revolution also spawned the creation of poor and middle class as well as recurring and violent labor strikes. The living conditions of workers in France spiraled as wages decreased and starvation became commonplace. Production, factories, and workers became more expensive as the skill needed to perform jobs decrease. • 16. Night Of The Long Knives Essay By the end of 1933 Hitler s power was extensive but not total. His power was potentially at risk from three sources: the President, the army and his SA (Stormtroopers). Hindenburg could still, in theory, dismiss Hitler and the other Nazi s in the cabinet, the army could use its strength to force Hitler from office and the SA could endanger Hitler s relations with the army by carrying out further acts of hooliganism and demanding more power for themselves. By the end of 1934, all three problems had been largely solved due to the Night of the long Knives. After the Reichstag election of July 1932, the Nazi s were the largest single party but not a majority party. Hindenburg allowed Von Papen who was the current chancellor of Germany at that ... Although, there were other events too that helped Hitler to consolidate his power such as The Reichstag Fire, The Enabling Act etc. The night of the long knives was very important because of the various reasons listed below. The army supported Hitler when he proclaimed himself as the Führer (leader) of Germany. The army also had the power to remove all the opponents. The murders of General Von Schleicher and Von Kahr demonstrated that any resistance from within the army would be brutally put down. This caused a fear in people s mind and they were scared to act against Hitler. Therefore the night of the long also resulted in reducing Hitler s opponents. One of the most significant outcomes of the night of the long knives was that Hitler gained support of the rich industrialists, who further helped him to establish his power. He was also able to ban all other political parties besides the Nazi s. Therefore, the night of the long knives helped Hitler to gain support of many people and become the supreme dictator of Germany. Hitler rewarded the SS for their loyalty and for carrying out the purge. Therefore Hitler got the chance to build up his new group, the SS. He also apprised the SS that they could be an independent force. By 1936 1937, Himmler would complete the consolidation of all German police forces under SS control ... However, all of the rates were fairly similar no matter the concentration, except for the test with 0% concentration. That test resulted in no production of Oxygen because there was no enzyme for the Hydrogen peroxide to react to so nothing occurred in the testing container (see Fig. 1). In Fig. 2, you can see that all of the concentrations, aside from 0% concentration all produced very similar amounts of Oxygen even though there was not as much of the enzyme in the tests that we added water to in order to change the concentration. The water took the place of a portion of the enzyme, or all of it, to keep a constant volume of enzyme mixture and to see how changing the amount enzymes. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... We used this information to form our hypothesis, which was that the 100% concentration test would have the highest reaction rate because the more enzyme is the more active sites there are, so more reactions can occur, and the the Hydrogen peroxide will be decomposed faster, giving it a higher rate. However, the results of our experiment did not support this. Like explained before, the test that resulted in the highest rate was the one with 50% concentration. It is unknown why this occurred. The sources provided in class, a graph, showed that there should be linear growth between concentration and rate, which supports our hypothesis. • 20. Ahab as the Hero of Moby Dick Essay Ahab as the Hero of Moby Dick One might think it a difficult task to find a tragic hero hidden in the pages of Moby Dick. Yet, there is certainly potential for viewing Ahab as heroic despite unfavorable responses to him by the reader. In the original formula coming from the Greeks, the tragic hero had to be a high born individual of elevated status possessed of a fatal flaw which resulted in their downfall. With Othello Shakespeare redefined elevated status to include position alone rather than being linked to societal or birth status. In this way it was possible for Othello as the military leader to be the tragic hero despite being an outsider in the composition of the society. Melville follows this example in Moby Dick. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The flaw itself [is] a pride that challenges the very nature of things . . . (Millhauser 76). Ahab, deluded by the prophecies of Fedallah, comes to view himself as immortal, able to overcome anything. Within the dramatic tradition, the heroic idea of being above everything else is a recurring theme. Ahab s flaw, akin to madness . . . involves equally Ahab s imposing spiritual stature and his inexorable fate (Millhauser 76). Ahab is blinded by his pride which prevents him from seeing any other path of action or alternative meanings for events that occur other than the one he chooses to fit with his monomaniacal pursuit of Moby Dick. These two areas of elevated position and a fatal character flaw as outlined by Millhauser and Melville, within the novel itself, distinctly set Ahab off as a potentially heroic character. Ahab is driven to a confrontation with his adversary by a force never clearly spelled out for the reader. However, much is made of the loomings of fate in the lives of men. Further reference is made to the prophecy of Fedallah. Because we pick up the story near the end (from Ahab s perspective), it is difficult to ascertain his full motivations. Along with this fact, it becomes difficult to determine whether Ahab is shaping or controlling his own destiny or not. Moby Dick is Ahab s nemesis. Again Melville is never clear in spelling out how the white whale is to be interpreted. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The easy availability of this type of sexually explicit material has caused a panic among government officials, family groups, religious groups and law enforcement bodies and this panic has been perpetuated in the media. One of the unique challenges to regulating or settling on the appropriate way to regulate is that there is no concrete definition of pornography. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The second real issue is finding a way to regulate and enforce the removal of material that is agreed upon as being inappropriate for anyone to have on the Internet. I am specifically touching on the issue of child pornography. While it is illegal in the United States, as it is in many countries, government and law enforcement officials are having a difficult time catching offenders who post this type of material. So with this type of problem concerning pornography this issue is not deciding on appropriate means of regulation, but rather how to enforce the regulation already in place. It is obvious that for years, the government has been trying to regulate this type of content but has seen very limited success. Part of the reason for this is because certain regulatory actions intended to protect only a small group, such as children, should not require the prohibition of material that adults have access to in other arenas. It is for example, legal for people to rent pornographic movies or buy nude magazines, so distribution of this type of material on the Internet should not be completely limited. People shouting out for protection of their 1st Amendment rights have made a good point when arguing against complete censorship. What seems more feasible is a sort of multi layered approach to regulate illegal and harmful content on the Net. This would make it possible to form some sort of insulation for children ...
