The Effects Of Bpa On The World
Health is a re ensuring concern in today s world as technology has changed the way of life for many.
Bisphenol A, also known as BPA, is a chemical used to make polycarbonate plastic and epoxy resins
(MNT, 2014). The key factor for ideal health is a suitable diet and the plastics and epoxy resins made
from BPA are used to make a variety of consumer products many being food containers, baby
products, water bottles, canned foods, and pop cans (Walters, 2011). BPA has allowed engineers to
expand their scientific knowledge as this chemical has unique characteristics that offer high
performance benefits in a wide range of consumer and industrial applications. However, though there
are some advantages of BPA, the disadvantages are more ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Not only did science contribute towards the understanding of BPA, but it presented various benefits on
top of that. Firstly, BPA has economic implications as it is cheap and can be easily manufactured.
Many alternatives are beginning to arise such as thermal paper for different types of printing that use
BPA and glass and stainless steel that are being widely used in different consumer products, but BPA
is cheaper and more efficient as products like plastic water bottles only cost about $4.99 while BPA
Free water bottles cost $14.99 $20.00 (BeCause Water Benefit Corp, 2014). On a larger scale, such as
industrial, business, medical, and safety equipment products, will produce the same trend as small
scale products, as BPA responds to government regulations while still upholding consumer preference.
This way the government is be able to save a lot of money while still producing high volumes of
different products. Secondly, using BPA has social benefits as Polycarbonate Plastic, is durable,
lightweight, shatter resistant, and heat resistant and provides a clear view of food in containers which
helps to keep the food fresh. By protecting the food from spoiling, cans with Epoxy Resin lining is
able to keep food fresh and have a shelf life for almost two years. This is necessary for feeding large
numbers of people that are homeless, in disaster relief, military, retirement homes, food banks, or
involved in other drastic situations

Minors and the Death Penalty
A. Should the death penalty be given to minors? The two groups against this issue, are the religious
and medical groups. They believe they are too young to know what they have done. The medical
groups believe adolescents are less developed than adults and should not be held to the same
standards. . The opposing side, held mostly by state officials, feel if they are old enough to commit the
crime they, old enough to get the punishment, including death.
B. The very first execution of a minor was in1642 with Thomas Graunger in Plymouth Colony,
Massachesetts. In the three hundred years since that time, a total of approximately 365 persons have
been executed for juvenile crimes, constituting 1.8 percent of roughly twenty thousand ... Show more

http://www.medill.northwestern.edu/~secure/docket/mt/archives/000800.php The website actually
showed the case of Stanford v. Kentucky which was for the execution of a minor. The majority in case
acknowledged age as a mitigating factor in death sentencing, but, in an opinion written by Justice
Antonin Scalia, said the national climate didn t rule out the death penalty simply because of the age of
the offender.
G. The Kantian view of death penalty is a retributive view that sees the criminal as a parasite who has
accepted the benefits of a legal system while refusing to pay the price of self restraint. Such a person
owes the law abiding a debt for he has gained an unfair advantage over them. Punishment is the means
of exacting the debt (in kind) and is a demand for justice the restoration of a condition of equality
between the law breaker and society. Just punishment is binding and not to be mitigated by any
utilitarian consideration. Kant also believes in blood guilt and the necessity for cleansing criminal
actions.
H. This issue is pretty touchy to me, because i could support both side of minor being put to death. I
agree with if they do the crime, they can do the time, but at the same time they are just little kids and
they do not know better. The way I see how this situation can change is that instead of holding the
child responsible for the crime hold the parents in contempt. The reason I say

Here are some fun facts about Argentina. Pope Francis is a native Argentinian. He once worked as a

He had had to convert to Catholicism earlier, though, because, until 1994, the law stated all presidents

mass Jewish immigration to Argentina was in the late 19th century, when 800 Russian Jews arrived in
Buenos Aires after fleeing persecution from Czar Alexander III. The Jewish Colonization Association

Innovative Approaches to Corporate Management
Innovative approaches to Corporate Management
Felipe Guadalupe Innovative approaches to Corporate Management
A company is only as strong as its weakest link. In order for it to succeed in today s competitive
market, the company will have to depend on the acquisition and application of good, relevant
knowledge on which to base its decisions. For that to happen, good and sound decision making has to
be a part of everyday business. Therefore, corporate managers have taken innovative approaches to
corporate management by creating consistency and unity towards a purpose, along with an
environment where both the company and employees can excel.

It is important to exhibit and practice good leadership qualities to have people willingly follow your
instructions. Companies not only need good leaders, they need good managers as well to controls
resources and expenditures to allow the company to prosper. There are many different models of
management strategy that corporate management can follow to assist them in helping their company
evolve. Process based management, corporate entrepreneurship, and Total Quality Management
(TQM) are some of them, just to name a few.
Process based management deals with how companies provide products and services to their
customers. It focuses on five areas to help develop longevity for the company. First is promoting a
process based culture, where people are trained in the mindset of learning a process so that they do not
even have to think about what they are doing, they just react to a learned behavior. Second, there is
managing end to end business processes. Here is where the focus is on how to improve on the process

6. Do you have a track record of solving problems biblically? We couldn t decide how to answer this
question because we have not had any problems in our relationship yet. As far as individually, she said
that one of her big problems is that she likes to hold problems in until she blows, and that she s kind of
a people pleaser. I tend to be a little more abrasive with my problems, and I like to rip the wound

2018 ERCOT Long Term Demand Forecasting Approach prepared by London Economics
International LLC
December 21st, 2017
Background
On December 15th, 2017, ERCOT released its annual System Planning Long Term Hourly Peak
Demand and Energy Forecast report for the region for 2018. The report presents methodology,
assumptions, and the data used to conduct the forecasting. ERCOT bases the forecast on econometric
models describing ERCOT s hourly load as dependent on the number of premises in various customer
classes, weather variables, and calendar variables. Furthermore, the premise forecasts are based on
econometric autoregressive models ( AR1 ) and certain economic data. With regards to the data used,
forecasts of economic and demographic data ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Each class premise count was subsequently modeled by estimating a relationship between the
premises and each of the three pieces of economic data (i.e. housing stock, population, and non farm
employment).
Issues were encountered in the process of creating premise forecast models for two of the identified
weather zones. In mid 2014, there was a notable spike in the number of premises for the Far West and
West weather zones; it was around this time when an entity opted into ERCOT s competitive market
and when ERCOT s service territory was modified through expansion. As such, premise forecast
models were not created for the Far West and West weather zones; instead, the aforementioned zones
considered economic variables of key drivers of forecasted demand and energy growth.
Hourly Energy Models
A relationship was estimated for each of the eight weather zones between the dependent variable,
hourly energy, and various time and weather metrics (i.e. month, season, day type, weather variables,
interactions, number of premises, and non farm employment/housing stock/population). Weather
variables include, for instance, temperature, dew point, cloud cover, wind speed, and cooling and
heating degree days. Interactions include hour and day of week, hour and temperature, hour and dew
point, temperature and dewpoint, and hour and temperature and dew point. Not all variables were

The company believes that demands from international markets will increase in future. Nike must
cater to a large portion of the new generation that demands the latest trends and styles. Nike should
take into account the changing US demographics due to the rising proportion of Hispanics, Asians,

Nike should identify the next generation of loyal customers and provide for their needs.

The New Constitution And The Constitution
The new constitution formulated comprised of seven articles that explain how a government should
work in order to provide its citizens with the basic rights. This new system divided the power between
the federal government and the states. Furthermore, the American Revolution is extremely important
as the constitution that was later formulated still serves the basis of the American constitution. Even
though several amendments have been made to the constitution, the revolutionary principles upon
which the Constitution was made are still influencing the society of the United States. The language

During the revolution, several African American slaves served in the revolutionary war from both
sides of the war. Moreover, this revolutionary war of independence helped the slaves in getting their
independence as well. This is when several thousands of the slaves attained the status of independence
by running away. As a result of the revolution, the slaves started to fight against the slavery after
getting the encouragement from the natural right philosophy of the seventeenth century English
philosopher John Locke (Digital History), which is also a part of the constitution of the United States
of America. This natural right philosophy is nothing else but the right to life and liberty that the
constitution of the United States guarantees to provide its citizens. In addition to this fight of the
African American against the slavery, the slaves began to appeal the Congress in order to destruct the
slavery. Furthermore, under the new constitution, the slaves were considered as 3/5 as productive as a
free person (Cardoza and Hume 116). Thus, after the revolution, the slaves were also given
representation while earlier the slaves were not considered to have any kind of rights since they were
not considered the citizens. Moreover, it was this revolutionary war, after which the abolitionist
movements initiated to abolish the slavery and thus, the awareness about slavery increased. Also, a lot

It exhibits many famous DJs and groups from that time. Freestyle MCing is shown with rare footage
of one of the godfathers of hip hop, Grandmaster Flash, pulling off an awesome scratch mix set.
During this time it was not uncommon for scenes such as the ones in the movie to occur in black

saying that rapping DJs reminiscent of early r b radio jocks ... are making an impressive comeback

This film also slightly expresses some of the racial segregation in hip hop that goes on during the time

Women and men together make a great team for emergency medical services because, it is such a wide

and at other times women are. Entering into the EMS field, I knew there would be things to overcome
such as harassment, hostile situations and many other challenges to get through. You have to love what
you do to make it through daily life in your job. It is very difficult to be first responders and you never
know what type of situation you are going to enter into. Also, I am sure some patients and family
members may think when they see a small woman like me; is she capable to move me, lift that heavy
equipment, and so on. I put my all in everything I do and have a true passion from the heart in helping
others. I know if you are a woman and want to be in this field you can as long as you put your mind to
it and stay dedicated. In some situations it is more difficult on women than it is men to deal with
current things but, that also applies to men as well. I set a goal of becoming a Paramedic and in the
future going above and beyond that. Being a Paramedic student I know how much hard work and
dedication it takes to have a career that is satisfying. Not that being a Paramedic is all enjoyable, but it

The Decrease of the Nuclear Family
Decrease in the amount of nuclear families
There are several possible reasons for the decrease in the number of nuclear families, particularly in
the past forty years. This includes rising cohabitation, higher divorce rates, secularisation, rising same
sex relationships, more career seekers and the rise in feminism.
Firstly, a nuclear family is a family consisting of a man and woman (usually married) in a sexual
relationship with one or more children. One reason for this type of family becoming less common is
due to the rising number of divorces. Getting divorced has become much easier than in the past. 40%

Rules such as no sex before marriage direct people onto the pathway of family and would increase the
number of nuclear families. Secularisation however means people are not following rules such as
these and therefore leading to a decrease in the number of nuclear families as more people did follow
these rules in the past.
Fourthly, over the last 40 years more same sex relationships are occurring due to change in legislation
and reduce in stigma. Same sex relationships in the past were highly frowned upon and even illegal.
Linking back to secularisation, stigma has decreased on the topic of homosexuality as most religions
state same sex relationships are not allowed. So in the past more people agreed with and followed
these rules however now people are much more accepting and open about same sex relationships. The
civil partnership act of 2004 meant that gay couples could have the same rights as married couples.
This lead to a large rise in the amount of same sex relationships and as this was increasing the amount
of nuclear families started decreasing as a nuclear family cannot consist of two people of the same
sex.
Fifthly, the rise in career seeking people has risen. People who are dedicated to their work often do not
have time to sustain a relationship and settle down and have a family. This means there are less first
marriages today as the facts show. In England and wales 143,000 first marriages occurred in 2007.

Jamaica Kincaid
Girl by Jamaica Kincaid and If by Rudyard Kipling are 2 poems that have a parent writing to their kid
trying to teach them in a different way. In Girl , there is a mother writing to her daughter to tell her
directions to become the perfect girl. In If , the father writes to his son to teach very important life
lessons. These two poems have a similar topic but a different setting and theme. There is going to be
some evidence and reasoning to back up the similarity and differences. A similarity between the
poems is the topic of parents writing to their children to teach them. At the very end in Girl , it states
you mean to say that after all, you are really going to be the kind of women who the baker won t let
near the bread? Similarly, in If, And which is more, you ll be a man my son! which was stated in the
last stanza. This evidence first shows a parent speaking to their child. Secondly, it shows the writing of
the parents to teach their kids in their own ways. Both parents are speaking for a meaning. This topic
runs through both of these poems that shows parent speaking to their kids for a reason. ... Show more

New Square, By Skverer Chasidim
New Square, populated primarily by Skverer Chasidim, is located in Rockland County, New York.
The town was founded in the mid 1950s by Rebbe Yakov Yosef Twerski and modeled after the
Ukranian shtetl Skvyra. The naming of the town New Square was a typist s error. Like other Chasidic
communities in New York, the Skverer village was created by Holocaust survivors determination to
preserve a Jewish way of life coupled with a need to not perish, perhaps at all cost. In the case of New
Square, the cost is near fanaticism. The practices of Hasidic sects vary significantly, from the Satmar
sect in Williamsburg to the Lubavitcher sect in Crown Heights spanning to Vizhnitz in Monsey, and
even throughout households, the Skverer sect in New Square ... Show more content on

Following this primary colored digital path onscreen is the closest I will likely come to visiting the
village, as a I don t live in or near this community and I am unaffiliated with Chasidus, however, I am
fascinated by the place, and I can appreciate the need to define oneself as separate from one s
upbringing especially when dealing with extremes. I understand that even if I did visit New Square I
would have no greater access to Hasidic life than my occasional walk through Williamsburg, where I
can see but can t penetrate its appeal, or its secrets. Deen s memoir, however, does grant me that
access. It is the book s ticket to mass appeal as well as the seat of his disquiet in its writing. Deen has
written about his experiences over the years, as a blogger, as a contributor to Tablet, and as founder
and editor of the website Unpious. Though he writes because he has a story to tell, Deen s work,
especially in his memoir, is clearly crafted to benefit others dealing with a wavering faith. He s
involved with Footsteps, an organization that supports those leaving ultra Orthodox life, and he
dedicates a couple of his final pages to a reading list of books on religious faith, a disclaimer that his
book isn t an argument against Orthodoxy, and a note that his narrative had to bluntly externalize an
internal process of inquiry and examination. It is a fascinating trinity of problems: describing a

2.1.3Options. There Are Two Kinds Of Options In The Market,
2.1.3 Options
There are two kinds of options in the market, European options and American options. The most
common traded one is American options which can be exercised before maturity in the market. Call
options provide the holders the right to buy the underlying assets at an exercise price while put options
is the right to sell (Rad et al., 2015).
Hedgers needs to pay a direct premium when the options open in order to compensate for the
speculators. In this case, hedgers have a right to choose whether they would like to exercise the
options at maturity. As to the speculators, they are the writers of the option and they have no right but
obligation to exercise the option. They receive the premium and take the risk of the probability of ...

2.1.4 Swaps
Swap is an agreement that investors exchange cash flows at a specific time in the future. Generally,
both parties believe their exchanges are the same amount of cash flows. The most common swaps are
interest rate swap and currency swap. The transaction needs a dealer to realise and dealers get the
profits from transaction cost and the bid ask spread of the cash flows.
Take interest rate swap as an example, the hedgers may wish to have a certain fixed interest payment
for their loans. By contrast, the speculators are more willing to take a floating interest payment either
they have the same amount of loan or not. The dealer combine these two counterparties together and
create the swap for the exchange of fixed interest rate and floating interest rate (Simons Horward,
2003). To the interest payment data, the hedger pays the fixed interests to the speculator and received
the floating interests according to the dealer. Then they pay the floating interests to the cash market. In
this case, they only pay the fixed interest rate as agreed before and eliminate the risk of interest rate
uncertainty. For the speculators, they pay the floating interests and receive the fixed interests. If the
floating interest rate is greater than the fixed one, then they suffer a loss, otherwise they get the profits.
Generally, individuals and non banking institutions are able to be the dealer which may cause default

Sitting Bull Research Paper
Behold, my friends , the spring is come; the earth has gladly received the embraces of the sun, and we
shall soon see the result of their love! December 15, 1890 Sitting Bull was shot and killed while being
arrested by U.S and Indian agent. The Sitting Bull was one of the best known Indian chiefs because of
his determination, leadership skills, and spiritual aspects.
Sitting Bull s determination was something amazing. He always made sure that everyone believed
they could do it and was determined not to live on a reservation. His determination and leadership of
the Lakotas extended beyond policy and into spiritual realm as well. He never gave up or signed the

were soon to have a great victory against the bluecoats. Many have said that this was similar to the
battle that happens a few short weeks later at the Battle of the Bighorn. Sitting Bull was supposedly
killed over his involvement of the Ghost Dance movement. Beginning in 1889, many reservation
tribes were on the Ghost Dance movement. This would bury the white man s world a layer of soil and
allow the Indians to return to their old ways. Sitting Bull was at the forefront of preservation the
Lakotas culture. It wasn t long before authorities became convinced that he might use the Ghost Dance
movement to form a resistance. On the morning of December 15, 1890, reservation agent James
McLaughlin dispatched a party of Lakotas policemen to arrest Sitting Bull and bring him in for
questioning. The men successfully dragged him from his cabin, the commotion brought his followers
to gather at the scene. One Ghost Dancer fired a shot at the police, setting of a gun battle. Dozens were

Analysis Of Fences By August Wilson
The Future is in Your Hands.
Children grow up naturally emulating the adults around them, for most it is their mother and father,
this is natural and typically a positive thing. There are times, however, when the people that children
emulate are not the best examples society has to offer. In the play Fences Cory looks up to his dad
when it comes to sports. However, by the end of the play the reader starts to notice that Troy is not the
man to look up to. The plot in Fences by August Wilson is centered around an African American
family that looks at the world a little differently by that I mean when Troy was young people believed
blacks shouldn t be able to do the things whites can. People were rude and outspoken about how they
felt when it came to sharing public things with blacks. Now Troy s sons are living in a world that has
evolved and is not as racist, the boys can go out and achieve their dreams, even if they are African
American it may be difficult but is still achievable. Because of the change in the way of life there has
been a conflict between the two boys and their father. Troy may realize that things are different now,
but that doesn t change the fact that it is hard for him to let go of the past. Because Troy was unable to
play baseball based on his race, he believes Cory shouldn t be able to go on and play college football.
This raises a big question, is Troy being unfair or is he trying to look out for his son? The main theme
throughout the play Fences is

previous theories concerning overseas ceramic trading and, as a result there was need to revaluate
Pompeii s role in trade and commerce during the time before 79AD (Zarmati, 2005). Pont s findings

Informative Essay On Concussions In Women s Lacrosse

According to New York Times, headgear has also been effective in reducing head trauma caused by
stick to head or ball to head contact. The number of deep bone bruises is significant do to the lack of
shin guards, arm guards, chest protection, and hand protection. There are several ways to prevent
concussions in lacrosse. Florida became first state to require headgear for girls in 2015. The Reduction

Long Term Species Is The Main Goal Of Conservation Biology
1.1 Conservation genetics
Long term species persistence is the main goal of conservation biology, and this has been associated
with maintenance of species evolutionary potential (Hamrick et al. 1991), which in turn, is not
unconnected with higher levels of genetic variation in the focal species (Frankel and Soule 1981).
Therefore, the field of conservation genetics, defined as the application of molecular genetic
techniques to the conservation of biodiversity (Frankham 2010), was introduced for accurate
understanding of genetic diversity in a focal taxa, and how this can be maintained or amplified, in
order to ensure species persistence, even in a changing environment.
Population genetic theory (Wright 1969) suggests that small isolated populations will undergo genetic
drift, inbreeding and reduced gene flow, resulting in loss of intra population genetic variation,
increased genetic differentiation among populations, inbreeding depression and loss of fitness (Barrett
and Kohn 1991), leading to extirpation (Reed and Frankham 2003). This is also corroborated from
ecological theory that predicted that small populations with small geographical range and poor
dispersal capacity have higher extinction risk (Belovsky et al. 1999). Consequently, population size is
one of the most important criteria in IUCN criteria for red listing of threatened species (Mace et al.
2008).
Previous studies support the prediction of population genetic theory that rare plant species will exhibit

Disgust can be seen in Gooper also. When he learns that Big Daddy will most likely be giving his

Big Mama experiences mendacity when she had an argument with Big Daddy on his birthday. He tells
her that he never loved her, that she never loved him, and that it was all just a lie. This also brought
disgust to Big Mama because she could not comprehend it, which was why she left crying. Brick was
a major character that experienced mendacity and disgust. Skipper and Brick had a clean and close
friendship. The relationship Brick had with Skipper was something Brick was truly happy with. It
ruined him learning that Skipper was a homosexual man and had slept with his wife one time. He felt

that fact and is why Brick felt disgusted. However, I believe that Brick

Arguments Against Male Birth Control
Since 1899, the array of male birth control options had been limited to Vasectomies, abstinence,
withdrawal, or condoms. The method of withdrawal has a low success rate, condoms are seen as
uncomfortable during sex, and vasectomies are too permanent. Withdrawal and abstinence are the
oldest forms of male contraceptives and before female birth control and condoms, the only form of
contraceptive. Vasectimes are effective at stoping sperm form leaving the testical, but the procedure is
done by surgery and is permanent. In contrast to the hundreds of flexible and effective birth control for

Google Search Engine
1. Summary
In this report we have chosen to analysis the innovation that is the Google Search Engine . We have
chosen to base our report on the Google search engine; a revolutionary innovation that has
transformed the way in which the internet is used.
1.1 Introduction
Google began life as a research project between two Stanford University graduate students, Larry
Page and Sergey Brin in January, 1996. They hypothesized that developing a search engine that
analysed the relationships between websites would be more effective than merely counting the words
on a page. Thus, the Google search engine differs from other search engines as it uses a programme
that checks the amount of back links to a page, therefore assuming that those pages ... Show more

This was the first sign of Google having a major impact on the industry.
Figure 1.1 in the appendices is a table showing the contributing factors which over the years have
made Google the success it is today.
From the analysis this table it is clear to see that since Google was launched they have gone from
strength to strength. They have continuously added new innovations to exceed their competitors and
gain such a large market share. (For more information on their competitors please see section 2.3, of
this report). The major innovations which have had such a great impact on the industry include Google
s increase in language versions (www.google.com) this enable users around the world to search in
their own language rather than English. This opened up the market available to Google and
subsequently they opened up many R D departments over the last couple of years worldwide which
will aid their innovations.
Analysing the impact of Google was an interesting and intricate task due to the ambiguous and
undefined nature of the industry the company is in. In reality, is Google merely competing amongst
other search engines such as Yahoo, the internet as a whole or perhaps an even larger range of
industries? Librarians, publishers, and aggregators alike often call Google their main competitor (C,

Twelfth Night Gender Analysis

Shakespeare Term Essay
Gender is one of the most prevalent themes in William Shakespeare s comedy, Twelfth Night. In
Twelfth Night, the play is based on Viola, a twin who gets separated away from her brother in a
shipwreck. To find work, Viola undertakes the disguise of Cesario, a young male who wants to work
in the household of Duke Orsino. Orsino has been personally dealing with the love he feels for Lady
Olivia, who refuses to entertain any man since she is dealing with the loss of her brother and father. In
Orsino s efforts to have Cesario facilitate love between himself and Olivia, Olivia ends up falling in
love with Cesario. Viola has also found herself falling in love with Orsino, thus creating a love
triangle between these three. In this love triangle, Shakespeare exhibits a challenge and a
reinforcement of the gender roles that were present in the setting he personally wrote the play from.
Through Olivia s attraction to Cesario, he challenges these gender roles and through Orsino s
attraction to Cesario, he reinforces these gender roles.

Twelfth Night is reported to have been written in 1601/1602 to be a festival amusement for the end of
the holiday season which would have been during Shakespeare s successful career in London as a

Cell Phones And Technology Essay
In 1973 the world s first cellphone was made. Although the first phone is not anything compared to the
latest iphone, it was a huge step back then. When the first mobile phone was made, it was hardly
portable and allowed very little talk time. Now phones are smaller than the average human hand and
you can talk however long you would like (as long as you have a charger). At first look, the invention
of the cell phone can be seen as a huge technological achievement, however once people open their
eyes they see how sad it truly is. So many people have lost touch with true communication and the
people around them. Even though technology shouldn t be as involved in our lives as it is, people still
see it as an essential to their everyday lives and they are constantly using it. Over the past decade there
has been an increase in the purchases of cell phones. As the company s improve the technology,
people have started to desire them more. Technology is no longer just a way to communicate with
others, but it is now a way of entertainment. People can now play games and watch movies on their
phones . Cell phones help people with work . You can look at emails, there are calculators, and
dictionaries. Technology has also helped people make relationships, whether that is a good thing or
bad thing is still undetermined. The popularity of cell phones has increased so much that children now
have them and parents use them as babysitters. In Amusing Ourselves to Death, Neil Postman says,

  • 2. The Effects Of Bpa On The World Health is a re ensuring concern in today s world as technology has changed the way of life for many. Bisphenol A, also known as BPA, is a chemical used to make polycarbonate plastic and epoxy resins (MNT, 2014). The key factor for ideal health is a suitable diet and the plastics and epoxy resins made from BPA are used to make a variety of consumer products many being food containers, baby products, water bottles, canned foods, and pop cans (Walters, 2011). BPA has allowed engineers to expand their scientific knowledge as this chemical has unique characteristics that offer high performance benefits in a wide range of consumer and industrial applications. However, though there are some advantages of BPA, the disadvantages are more ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Not only did science contribute towards the understanding of BPA, but it presented various benefits on top of that. Firstly, BPA has economic implications as it is cheap and can be easily manufactured. Many alternatives are beginning to arise such as thermal paper for different types of printing that use BPA and glass and stainless steel that are being widely used in different consumer products, but BPA is cheaper and more efficient as products like plastic water bottles only cost about $4.99 while BPA Free water bottles cost $14.99 $20.00 (BeCause Water Benefit Corp, 2014). On a larger scale, such as industrial, business, medical, and safety equipment products, will produce the same trend as small scale products, as BPA responds to government regulations while still upholding consumer preference. This way the government is be able to save a lot of money while still producing high volumes of different products. Secondly, using BPA has social benefits as Polycarbonate Plastic, is durable, lightweight, shatter resistant, and heat resistant and provides a clear view of food in containers which helps to keep the food fresh. By protecting the food from spoiling, cans with Epoxy Resin lining is able to keep food fresh and have a shelf life for almost two years. • 3. Minors and the Death Penalty A. Should the death penalty be given to minors? The two groups against this issue, are the religious and medical groups. They believe they are too young to know what they have done. The medical groups believe adolescents are less developed than adults and should not be held to the same standards. . The opposing side, held mostly by state officials, feel if they are old enough to commit the crime they, old enough to get the punishment, including death. B. The very first execution of a minor was in1642 with Thomas Graunger in Plymouth Colony, Massachesetts. In the three hundred years since that time, a total of approximately 365 persons have been executed for juvenile crimes, constituting 1.8 percent of roughly twenty thousand ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... http://www.medill.northwestern.edu/~secure/docket/mt/archives/000800.php The website actually showed the case of Stanford v. Kentucky which was for the execution of a minor. The majority in case acknowledged age as a mitigating factor in death sentencing, but, in an opinion written by Justice Antonin Scalia, said the national climate didn t rule out the death penalty simply because of the age of the offender. G. The Kantian view of death penalty is a retributive view that sees the criminal as a parasite who has accepted the benefits of a legal system while refusing to pay the price of self restraint. Such a person owes the law abiding a debt for he has gained an unfair advantage over them. Punishment is the means of exacting the debt (in kind) and is a demand for justice the restoration of a condition of equality between the law breaker and society. Just punishment is binding and not to be mitigated by any utilitarian consideration. Kant also believes in blood guilt and the necessity for cleansing criminal actions. H. This issue is pretty touchy to me, because i could support both side of minor being put to death. I agree with if they do the crime, they can do the time, but at the same time they are just little kids and they do not know better. The way I see how this situation can change is that instead of holding the child responsible for the crime hold the parents in contempt. The reason I say ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Each class premise count was subsequently modeled by estimating a relationship between the premises and each of the three pieces of economic data (i.e. housing stock, population, and non farm employment). Issues were encountered in the process of creating premise forecast models for two of the identified weather zones. In mid 2014, there was a notable spike in the number of premises for the Far West and West weather zones; it was around this time when an entity opted into ERCOT s competitive market and when ERCOT s service territory was modified through expansion. As such, premise forecast models were not created for the Far West and West weather zones; instead, the aforementioned zones considered economic variables of key drivers of forecasted demand and energy growth. Hourly Energy Models A relationship was estimated for each of the eight weather zones between the dependent variable, hourly energy, and various time and weather metrics (i.e. month, season, day type, weather variables, interactions, number of premises, and non farm employment/housing stock/population). Moreover, this revolutionary war of independence helped the slaves in getting their independence as well. This is when several thousands of the slaves attained the status of independence by running away. As a result of the revolution, the slaves started to fight against the slavery after getting the encouragement from the natural right philosophy of the seventeenth century English philosopher John Locke (Digital History), which is also a part of the constitution of the United States of America. This natural right philosophy is nothing else but the right to life and liberty that the constitution of the United States guarantees to provide its citizens. In addition to this fight of the African American against the slavery, the slaves began to appeal the Congress in order to destruct the slavery. Furthermore, under the new constitution, the slaves were considered as 3/5 as productive as a free person (Cardoza and Hume 116). The Decrease of the Nuclear Family Decrease in the amount of nuclear families There are several possible reasons for the decrease in the number of nuclear families, particularly in the past forty years. This includes rising cohabitation, higher divorce rates, secularisation, rising same sex relationships, more career seekers and the rise in feminism. Firstly, a nuclear family is a family consisting of a man and woman (usually married) in a sexual relationship with one or more children. One reason for this type of family becoming less common is due to the rising number of divorces. Getting divorced has become much easier than in the past. 40% of all marriages end in divorce. Rules such as no sex before marriage direct people onto the pathway of family and would increase the number of nuclear families. Secularisation however means people are not following rules such as these and therefore leading to a decrease in the number of nuclear families as more people did follow these rules in the past. Fourthly, over the last 40 years more same sex relationships are occurring due to change in legislation and reduce in stigma. Same sex relationships in the past were highly frowned upon and even illegal. Linking back to secularisation, stigma has decreased on the topic of homosexuality as most religions state same sex relationships are not allowed. So in the past more people agreed with and followed these rules however now people are much more accepting and open about same sex relationships. The civil partnership act of 2004 meant that gay couples could have the same rights as married couples. This lead to a large rise in the amount of same sex relationships and as this was increasing the amount of nuclear families started decreasing as a nuclear family cannot consist of two people of the same sex. Fifthly, the rise in career seeking people has risen. People who are dedicated to their work often do not have time to sustain a relationship and settle down and have a family. This means there are less first marriages today as the facts show. In England and wales 143,000 first marriages occurred in 2007. This is significantly ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Generally, both parties believe their exchanges are the same amount of cash flows. The most common swaps are interest rate swap and currency swap. The transaction needs a dealer to realise and dealers get the profits from transaction cost and the bid ask spread of the cash flows. Take interest rate swap as an example, the hedgers may wish to have a certain fixed interest payment for their loans. By contrast, the speculators are more willing to take a floating interest payment either they have the same amount of loan or not. The dealer combine these two counterparties together and create the swap for the exchange of fixed interest rate and floating interest rate (Simons Horward, 2003). To the interest payment data, the hedger pays the fixed interests to the speculator and received the floating interests according to the dealer. Then they pay the floating interests to the cash market. In this case, they only pay the fixed interest rate as agreed before and eliminate the risk of interest rate uncertainty. For the speculators, they pay the floating interests and receive the fixed interests. However, by the end of the play the reader starts to notice that Troy is not the man to look up to. The plot in Fences by August Wilson is centered around an African American family that looks at the world a little differently by that I mean when Troy was young people believed blacks shouldn t be able to do the things whites can. • 28. Long Term Species Is The Main Goal Of Conservation Biology 1.1 Conservation genetics Long term species persistence is the main goal of conservation biology, and this has been associated with maintenance of species evolutionary potential (Hamrick et al. 1991), which in turn, is not unconnected with higher levels of genetic variation in the focal species (Frankel and Soule 1981). Therefore, the field of conservation genetics, defined as the application of molecular genetic techniques to the conservation of biodiversity (Frankham 2010), was introduced for accurate understanding of genetic diversity in a focal taxa, and how this can be maintained or amplified, in order to ensure species persistence, even in a changing environment. Population genetic theory (Wright 1969) suggests that small isolated populations will undergo genetic drift, inbreeding and reduced gene flow, resulting in loss of intra population genetic variation, increased genetic differentiation among populations, inbreeding depression and loss of fitness (Barrett and Kohn 1991), leading to extirpation (Reed and Frankham 2003). This is also corroborated from ecological theory that predicted that small populations with small geographical range and poor dispersal capacity have higher extinction risk (Belovsky et al. 1999). Consequently, population size is one of the most important criteria in IUCN criteria for red listing of threatened species (Mace et al. 2008). • 33. Google Search Engine 1. Summary In this report we have chosen to analysis the innovation that is the Google Search Engine . We have chosen to base our report on the Google search engine; a revolutionary innovation that has transformed the way in which the internet is used. 1.1 Introduction Google began life as a research project between two Stanford University graduate students, Larry Page and Sergey Brin in January, 1996. They hypothesized that developing a search engine that analysed the relationships between websites would be more effective than merely counting the words on a page. Thus, the Google search engine differs from other search engines as it uses a programme that checks the amount of back links to a page, therefore assuming that those pages ... Figure 1.1 in the appendices is a table showing the contributing factors which over the years have made Google the success it is today. From the analysis this table it is clear to see that since Google was launched they have gone from strength to strength. They have continuously added new innovations to exceed their competitors and gain such a large market share. (For more information on their competitors please see section 2.3, of this report). The major innovations which have had such a great impact on the industry include Google s increase in language versions (www.google.com) this enable users around the world to search in their own language rather than English. This opened up the market available to Google and subsequently they opened up many R D departments over the last couple of years worldwide which will aid their innovations. • 34. Twelfth Night Gender Analysis Janelle Owusu Dr. Wood LMC 3228 30 November 2017 Shakespeare Term Essay Gender is one of the most prevalent themes in William Shakespeare s comedy, Twelfth Night. In Twelfth Night, the play is based on Viola, a twin who gets separated away from her brother in a shipwreck. To find work, Viola undertakes the disguise of Cesario, a young male who wants to work in the household of Duke Orsino. Orsino has been personally dealing with the love he feels for Lady Olivia, who refuses to entertain any man since she is dealing with the loss of her brother and father. In Orsino s efforts to have Cesario facilitate love between himself and Olivia, Olivia ends up falling in love with Cesario. Viola has also found herself falling in love with Orsino, thus creating a love triangle between these three. In this love triangle, Shakespeare exhibits a challenge and a reinforcement of the gender roles that were present in the setting he personally wrote the play from. Through Olivia s attraction to Cesario, he challenges these gender roles and through Orsino s attraction to Cesario, he reinforces these gender roles. 1 Twelfth Night is reported to have been written in 1601/1602 to be a festival amusement for the end of the holiday season which would have been during Shakespeare s successful career in London as a writer and an actor [shakespeare theatre peter thomson]. In early, Seventeenth century England, both gender hierarchy, and a husband s patriarchal role as the premier of his household, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 35. Cell Phones And Technology Essay In 1973 the world s first cellphone was made. Although the first phone is not anything compared to the latest iphone, it was a huge step back then. When the first mobile phone was made, it was hardly portable and allowed very little talk time. Now phones are smaller than the average human hand and you can talk however long you would like (as long as you have a charger). At first look, the invention of the cell phone can be seen as a huge technological achievement, however once people open their eyes they see how sad it truly is. So many people have lost touch with true communication and the people around them. Even though technology shouldn t be as involved in our lives as it is, people still see it as an essential to their everyday lives and they are constantly using it. Over the past decade there has been an increase in the purchases of cell phones. As the company s improve the technology, people have started to desire them more. Technology is no longer just a way to communicate with others, but it is now a way of entertainment. People can now play games and watch movies on their phones . Cell phones help people with work . You can look at emails, there are calculators, and dictionaries. Technology has also helped people make relationships, whether that is a good thing or bad thing is still undetermined. The popularity of cell phones has increased so much that children now have them and parents use them as babysitters. In Amusing Ourselves to Death, Neil Postman says, ...
