The Campaign Of Joseph Mccarthy
In 1950, fewer than fifty thousand Americans out of a total one hundred fifty million were members of
the communist party. This was the information Senator Joseph McCarthy used to receive permission
to proceed in exploitive communist hunts. McCarthy was dishonest in these hunts, leading to damage
far beyond repair to the United States and its citizens. Joseph McCarthy mislead the United States by
instilling unnecessary fear in the United States citizens, creating unnecessary tension between the
United States and Soviet Union, and compromised the safety of Americans.
Re Election was approaching and Joseph McCarthy s first term was unimpressive. Edmund Walsh
suggested a crusade against communist subversives (Hall). Senator McCarthy agreed and took
advantage of the nation s wave of fanatic terror against communism. On February 9, 1950, in his
speech in Wheeling, West Virginia, McCarthy proclaimed that he was aware of two hundred five card
carrying members of the communist party who worked for the United States Department of State (
McCarthyism ). On February 20, 1950, McCarthy addressed the Senate and made a list of claims and
cited eight one cases ( McCarthyism ). The Senate then called for a full investigation. McCarthy took
advantage of the citizens fear of communism, conveying how he deceived the nation to reach the
superiority he wished to achieve.
After Germany s defeat, the United States sought to help the Soviet Union, however, they wouldn t

Dream Toolbox Research Paper
Dream tools
As a professional automotive technician, he or she relies mostly on the knowledge he or she has
acquired throughout the years of training and experience. But without tools, a technician is pretty
much useless when it comes to repairing the vehicle. That is why I have comprised a list of tools that
would be in my Dream toolbox . The tools that I have chosen consist of diagnostic aids, driveline
repair tools, and air impact wrench that can be used for a number of uses consisting of; light engine
work, steering and suspension work, and electrical systems work. The tools I have listed will benefit
me as a technician by helping me diagnose and test vehicle quicker, allowing me to fix more vehicles
in a shorter amount of time.
The first tool I would place in my dream toolbox would be the Snap on MODIS Ultra Modular
Diagnostic and Information System (MODIS). The MODIS Ultra is a diagnostic scan tool that allows
for technician to vehicle connection. The use of the scan tool can vary from reading simple check

Ranging from 29mm to 36mm, the socket set is mostly used to remove axle nuts in vehicles. Used
more in the steering and suspension, driveline and powertrain systems, these sockets come in handy
when technicians have to remove axles or wheel hubs. The large nut that holds an axle together is well
oversized for any conventional socket set, and since the use of an impact wrench will be used to
remove the nut, it is recommended to use the proper impact socket so that the regular chrome socket
does not break or shatter, causing a potentially harmful accident. Manufacture by Snap on tools, the
socket set costs $243 and is well used in the industry as many steering and suspension components do
tend to wear more. And when needed, the socket set can come in handy. And with their lifetime

Rule Of Law And Development
Rule of Law and Development
A Mutual Reinforcement
Executive Summary
The Post 2015 development agendas which are often called as the next generation MDGs includes
Rule of Law, one of the most crucial component of development around the world. Precisely for
developing countries like Bangladesh, the fragile state of rule of Law and access to justice implicates
the downward situation of development, especially from the human rights perspective. This paper will
analyze the sources, nature and elements of rule of law as well as development and scrutinize the
nexus between these two. In light of realistic experiences around the world, this paper will try to find
whether the implementation of rule of law practically substantiates the goals of sustainable
development. At the same time, the situation of Bangladesh as well as the possible way outs will also
be highlighted.

Electroconvulsive Therapy Research Paper
Imagine a young woman by the name of Gabrielle Blackman Sheppard, struggling with depression.
Thoughts of suicide and loneliness plague her day in and day out and she cannot seem to overcome
that which seems to curse her waking days. In an attempt to be freed of this, she decides to try
something known as Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT). Her family is horrified, knowing the dangers
that often come with this procedure and warn against it, but she goes through with it anyway. The
image they all had was of someone being forcibly strapped into an electric chair, Gabrielle, who has
suffered...for nearly 30 years. Many people still see it as a form of torture. But I was desperate. I was

Most people, when they hear the term electroconvulsive therapy have the assumption that it is used
only to cure depression, but this is a common misunderstanding. It is generally less often used for
other disorders, but it can be helpful to people with schizophrenia, especially people who are
catatonic, which is a state of muscular rigidity and stupor ( Catatonia ). A definition of schizophrenia
is a chronic brain disorder with symptoms that may include delusions hallucinations, trouble with
thinking and concentration, and a lack of motivation. The disorder affects slightly more than one
percent of the population and is found to run in families (Scutti). Many people also describe it as
hearing multiple voices or sounds in your head. Sometimes the sounds are vague and are more like a
rustle or a beep. If there are voices, sometimes the words are inaudible, but when a voice is
recognizable, it s like being surrounded by a gang of bullies said Tanya Luhrman, a Stanford
anthropologist (Standen). All of these quotes and examples portray how miserable it must feel to have
to endure schizophrenia. To people suffering from schizophrenia, it seems that ETC would be a very
appealing escape from the reality of their

Summary Of The Great Storytellingki-Tikki Tavi
The Great Rikki tikki tavi Bravery has many characters and one mammal has them all. Rikki tikki tavi
fought single handed, through the bathrooms of the big bungalow in Segowlee cantonment. Darzee,
the tailor bird, helped him, and Chuchundra, the muskrat, who never comes out into the middle of the
floor but always creeps round by the wall, gave him advice; but Rikki tikki did the real fighting. He
was a mongoose, rather like a little cat in his fur and his tail but quite like a weasel in his head and his
habits. His eyes and the end of his restless nose were pink; he could scratch himself anywhere he
pleased with any leg, front or back, that he chose to use; he could fluff up his tail till it looked like a
bottle. One day, a high summer flood washed him out of the burrow where he lived with his father and
mother and carried him, kicking and clucking, down a roadside ditch. He found a little wisp of grass
floating there and clung to it till he lost his senses. When he revived, he was lying in the hot sun in the
middle of a garden path, very draggled indeed, and a small boy was saying: Here s a dead mongoose.
Let s have a funeral. No, said his mother; let s take him in and dry him. Perhaps he isn t really dead.
(Kipling 143) The book by Rudyard Kipling and the movie Rikki tikki tavi is about a mongoose
named Rikki tikki tavi. This mammal is one of the great fighters of the dreaded cobras, and in this
story, the Rulers of the garden. The book

Seasons In The Great Gatsby
According to author and keynote speaker Dennis Jones, The lesson for all of us is that we too have
seasons in our lives and each has its purpose... There are times of light and warmth... there are times of
growth and expansion... (2013). Based on his words, it is evident that each of the four seasons brings
about both positive and negative changes that everyone must endure; whether or not these changes are
openly welcomed by their recipients, they cannot be avoided. Instead of ignoring these new events and
changes, it is pivotal that humans and fictional characters alike take advantage of the opportunities
proposed by each of the four seasons. The principles stated in Jones words are directly applicable to

Just as leaves fall off of trees, characters take may experience times in their lives when their health or
relationships fall or slowly decay, which according to Foster s How to Read Literature Like a
Professor, is essentially what fall and winter symbolize decay and death respectively. For instance, in
Nicholas Sparks A Walk to Remember, the life of protagonist Jamie Sullivan, as narrated by antagonist
Landon Carter, comes to an end during the fall and winter seasons. Landon narrates an important
dialogue between Jamie when he says, You can t be in love with me, Landon, she [Jamie] said through
red and swollen eyes. ... Why not? I [Landon] shouted... Because, she finally said softly,... I m dying,
Landon (Sparks 1999). Landon is careful to mention that it is a grayish... cold winter day (Sparks
1999) before he retells the event of Jamie announcing her upcoming death. Jamie s preconceived,
ongoing death relates to idea that fall represents decline, whereas her actual death is symbolized by
winter. Because of her passing, Jamie and Landon s romance comes to an unfortunate conclusion,
again showcasing how the autumn season metaphorically symbolizes decline. Relating to Fitzgerald s
work, Nick narrates Gatsby s death by commenting, Gatsby shouldered the mattress and started for the
pool... and in a moment disappeared among the yellowing trees....

Bad Leadership In Antigone
There is no happiness where there is no wisdom; ...proud men in old age learn to be wise. Choragos
narrated at the end of the play Antigone (41). Short plays such as Antigone are exemplary literatures
that contain a vast amount of ethical issues, therefore enforcing critical thinking. Antigone, a tragic
drama play, was created by Sophocles before 441 BC. The well written play dictates the story of a
young woman who is charged for burying her brother as a representation of honor and the thoughts of
a stubborn king. Creon is a self centered character that is after Antigone and does everything in his
power to murder her. Finally, the play illustrates that bad leadership that involves and leads to vanity,
murder, and oppression.
Creon is the powerful king who rules the state after the death of Oedipus, with his ruling power he
clearly shows throughout the play a sense of vanity. Creon had a very firm and cold attitude towards
people, but his purpose as king was to provide political and social order. During the play Antigone, ...

It turns the situation to a worst degree, because it seemed that murdering Antigone was no longer a
punishment of what she had done. Instead it was a penalty to Haimon for trying to help Creon make a
more rational decision. As mentioned previously, assassinating people to show how powerful or
rightful a person is, shows a lack of humanism. Furthermore, Antigone mentioned a strong point
yelling, Ah the good fortune of kings, licensed to say and do whatever they please! to which Creon
replies, You are alone here in that opinion. Antigone later in that altercation explains No, they are with
me. But they keep their tongues in leash (16). This proves that many did not have the courage to speak
up as she did, this coercion caused Creon to do whatever he pleased, as a result creating a fascist

The Digestive System And The Function Of The Digestive System
The alimentary canal is where the digestive system takes place; it has different components in order
for food to be thoroughly processed. The digestive system is composed of an enteric nervous system
and has four layers of tissues; the mucosa, submucosa, muscularis externa, and serosa. Food enters
through the mouth and passes through the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, and the large intestine
before exiting the body through the anal canal. This occurs within the digestive system in four main
steps; ingestion, where food enters through the mouth, digestion where food is broken down
physically and chemically, absorption where nutrients are taken to their desired organ for use in the
body, and elimination where waste is removed from the body due to being useless or toxic. When it
comes to the human body there are plenty of components that we take for granted. Think about it,
when was the last time you dwelled upon the function of your saliva or pondered on the responsibility
of the esophagus? If you are like me, the answer to the question is simple, never. It is because our
body is one of the greatest and yet most underappreciated machinery known to man. Within that
system, which tends to get a lack of appreciation, stands alone one main process that we utilize on a
daily basis and rarely give credence to its importance. This process is known as digestion, which
occurs in the alimentary canal also known as the digestive system. The digestive system consists of

As we all know, with the development of ICT, engineering education through ODL is never a dream
and Virtual Laboratory is also one of the ODL tool. It makes no difference for students to either
conduct the experiment in a campus or doing it in their home. It is very convenient as student do not
need to go to physical laboratories to do the experiment. They can conduct it at anywhere and anytime
whenever they want.
As we all know, during the process of conducting an experiment, safety is the main concern. With the
use of virtual laboratory, there is no safe concerns as compared to real laboratory. It is very useful
especially when it comes to experiments that may cause harm to human body.
Virtual laboratory also provide educational benefits. One of it is virtual laboratory let students to learn

to understand some concepts that teach in the lab. However, studies have found that instead of using
the real lab, it is easier for the students to learn difficult and complex concepts through the virtual
laboratory. Studies also found that students are more active in learning in a virtual laboratory rather
than in a real lab class. This is because virtual laboratory provides a user friendly environment and
easy to understand the concepts. Experiments can be repeated many times and there are no

Monetary Policies And Monetary Policy
Monetary Policies (Introduction)
The objective of monetary policy is to reserve the worth of the money by keeping inflation low, stable
and predictable that lets Canadians be more confident about the spending and investment choices. It
reassures long term investment in Canada s economy as well as contributes to continuous job creation
and better the production. It helps improve living standard. Canada s monetary policy outline consists
of two key components working together and reinforcing each other: the inflation control target and
the flexible exchange rate. The inflation control target directs the decisions of the Bank regarding the
proper setting of the policy interest rate that maintains a stable price environment throughout the
medium term.
Influencing Short Term Interest Rates As to reach the inflation target, the banks have to make changes
in the policy rate by raising or lowering it. If inflation is beyond target, the banks will have to increase
the policy rate, this inspires institutions to increase interest rates on the loan and mortgages.
Discouraging borrowing and spending which enables upward pressure on price. If inflation is under
the goal, banks will lower the policy rate which would then encourage financial institutions to lower
interest rates on the loans and mortgages. This information shows how much banks are concerned
about inflation going higher or lower in terms of the goal. The key policy interest rates are when banks
expect to be used in

How Chinese Cinema Has Reflected And Shaped The Idea Of...
Cinema and movies are the true reflections of nation as well as society, both in the present and past.
The movies and its modernisms occasionally have to catch up to the idea of nation, however
sometimes it leads and shapes nation too. According to Berry and Farquhar (2006), Chinese movies
have played a critical role in shaping nation and national identity amongst Chinese. This essay will
mainly focus on how Chinese cinema has reflected and shaped the idea of nation. Apart from that, the
history of Chinese cinema, other famous traits such as Beijing opera and martial arts are also debated
in how it reflects nation. Additionally, I will examine how the framing and characterization of Lee,
and in specific in his role as Chen Zhen in the film Fist of Fury compresses within the masculine body
of Bruce Lee the character of Chinese nationalism and masculinity. What do cinema and movies
actually mean? The term cinema is defined as the art of moving pictures or a visual media that tells
stories, exposes reality and conveys messages. On the other hand, movies, also called a film or motion
picture is also a story that is communicated with animating images. Besides that, the cinema often
reflects to specific degree the culture, traditions and heritage of a nation, its historical concerns as well
as its societies enjoyments, sorrows and hopes throughout history. Nowadays, many people around the
world may watch movies as just a form of entertainment, but it is certainly more than

Summary Of Cassia In Matched
In the book Matched by Ally Condie the main character Cassia changes drastically throughout the
novel. In the beginning of the novel Cassia has been just like everyone else and blindly following the
rules of the society. When she gets matched with her best friend she is so excited, but when she sees
another person on her microcard she slowly starts to see all the flaws of the society and what is wrong
with what they are teaching her. Cassia changes significantly and observably from the beginning of
the novel to the end. Before Cassia gets matched with Xander, she thought everything in her society
was perfect and that they always had everything under control. She always thought she was safe and
laughed at the idea of violence. When the cottonwood trees are being cut down and the cotton seeds
fly everywhere, everyone gets worried thinking it was snowing in June. When a man tells them that
they are tearing down the trees they all relax realizing that there was nothing going wrong in their
society once again. As Cassia thinks about the logic behind what the man said she too is relieved and
she says, ...thank goodness the Society has things under control as usual (Condie 28). This shows that
she thinks that the society is always right and they always know what is going on. Since she thinks she
is so safe with the society she learns to just blindly follow what they tell her to say or do and not think
or have any free will of her own, but someone can only be controlled for

The Mobile Phone Industry, Like The Internet
Sprint Nextel Merger Introduction: The mobile phone industry, like the Internet, is one of the fastest
and ever developing industries. Since 1994, the production of cell phones has increased from 24
million to 182 million in wireless phone. The market of cell phones in the United States is constantly
increasing and the 162 million users will increase in the next few years. . This tremendous increase is
due to the current and ongoing development of technology and innovation in perfecting the cell phone.
Throughout the history of the mobile phone industries collaborate with each other in order to stay
successful in this fast changing field. Worldwide wireless companies have been cooperating with each
other. This collaboration is due to a lot of reasons that all relate to the firm s attempts to stay
profitable. Wireless companies have the opportunity to get market shares for both products and
accessories. When these companies merge they can then share their markets and products and offer a
good service to its customers. Without working together smaller wireless companies at times fall
victim to the strong competitions and they will eventually become bankrupt and forced to shut down.
Therefore, collaboration is necessary within the cell phone industry to maintain profits and increase
customer base. One of the ways that cell phone companies maintain profits and increase customer
base is through merger or acquisition with other companies to share new technologies for

stating this unutterable fact. With a good pair of shoes and a hop in your step, anything is possible!
However, what happens when your laces are flapping about uncontrollably and suddenly, you find
yourself hopping right into a freefall towards the unforgiving ground? Nothing good I can assure you!
So in order to safely secure your mischievous laces, some simple precautions must be taken so no
more embarrassing fumbles and stumbles trip up your path. First, you will need to procure a pair of tie
up shoes, preferably with nice even laces for proper bow tying, as well as a stable foot or two to attach
these fabulous shoes to. Next, the task of uniting the laces of your shoes together in a glorious two
eared bow, much which familiarize with bunny ears or a bright Christmas ribbon faces you. And
finally, show off those perfect fastened shoes to the world with as much swagger and confidence as
peacock flaunting its beautiful feathers. Before learning to tie your shoes, however, you must learn the
basics of selecting the right shoe for you and the correct size of shoe for your unique foot. Tying your
shoes can be quite entertaining. You can always learn new knots and ties to boast to your friends. Or,
you might prefer the old fashioned, classic sneaker bow tie. Whatever the case, choose your bow style
to match you! As Forrest

Protests That Were Heard Around The World Protests
The Protests That Were Heard Around The World When the colonization of modern day United States
was vastly completed, an intensifying sense of greed began to take over the minds of governing
officials, as it did in other modernizing countries. Wars began to dismiss civil and humanitarian
explanations, and instead were focused on factors such as territorial expansion and possible resource
prosperity. These factors were often held close to officials while the general population relied on
misconceptions that were created by media. The war that took place in Vietnam was certainly no
exception to this theory. When President John F. Kennedy first sent troops to Vietnam, it was assumed
by the citizens that it was to halt the spread of communism ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

An example of such an act was composed on March 16th, 1968, When a company of American
soldiers went into the hamlet of My Lai 4, in Quang Ngai province and rounded up the inhabitants,
including old people and women with infants in their arms, then ordered them into a ditch where they
were methodically shot to death by American soldiers (Zinn 478). This dismal behavior caught the eye
of Army investigators who ultimately made an attempt to cover up the incident but were proven to fail
as an anti war photographer captured a majority of the scenes. These letters began to circulate in
French publications almost immediately and led to the arrest of several officers who were never
assigned a worthy punishment, the most severe being a shortened sentence and house arrest.
Though the actions that took place in mid march were nothing short of tragic, many of the antiwar
movements in The United States did not take full effect until after Nixon pledged to get United States
out of Vietnam (Zinn 483). Zinn explains how just two years after Nixon s announcement, himself and
Secretary of State, Henry Kissinger launched an invasion of Cambodia. Zinn proclaimed that this
selfish action led to an outcry of protests in The United States (Zinn 484). After this, many different
variants of distress calls were used by the citizens in

Evaluation Of The Elementary School
This lesson was taught November 12, 2015 at Rosa Taylor Elementary School in Miss. Baggott s fifth
grade class. That week the students went to see Miller Middle School November 10th and were out of
school for Veteran s Day on November 11th. This week in math the students were learning about
polygons and their characteristics. Triangles have a first and last name describing the sides and types
of angles. There are different types of quadrilaterals and other polygons with five for more signs. For
the summative assessment given to the students by the cooperative teacher, the students had to identify
the shapes by their name, number of sides, number of angles, and (for triangles) their first and last
names. My lesson was titled review stations where the class was broken up into groups of three or
four. There were six stations that included: polygon collage, the shape game, foldable focus group,
triangle board game, tangrams, and computer games provided by the teacher. Each station had a red
folder that consisted of everything the student needed for that particular station. The folder had written
directions either on the sheet of paper or on the folder itself. For the mini lesson, we collectively wrote
a chart in their interactive journals for notes. The chart consisted of five columns, including: prefix,
name, number of sides, number of angles, and shape. Their assessment for Friday asked questions
about number of sides and number of angles a particular polygon had. Each

The Deregulation Of The Airline Industry
In 1936 congress put all commercial airlines under the Railway Labor Act. Since then, there was a
period of 42 years under economic regulation where the government oversaw labor relations. Since
deregulation, the goals of collective bargaining have not changed much, nor have the objectives of
management and labor unions. (Wensveen, 2011, p. 422) The deregulation of the airline industry may
have been a win for passengers, but most likely not a win for labor groups. Prior to deregulation the
airline industry was highly unionized, enjoying excellent wages, benefits and pensions. Since
deregulation there has been a drop in wages and most carriers have eliminated pensions. Also before
deregulation, unions would bargain with management at each air carrier and once a contract was
reached, the next carrier would begin bargaining from the other contract, to enhance theirs. This
continued bargaining from carrier to carrier helped to build better work rules and compensation. Labor
relations before deregulation were generally good, with the CAB setting fares it guaranteed profits
around 12 percent, the increased labor costs were passed onto the passengers. This allowed the unions
and management to maintain amicable relations while providing a productive work environment. After
deregulation, the work of the labor unions began to crash down. New low cost carriers like Southwest,
started taking large market shares. The labor unions had less bargaining power. To maintain
profitability,

INTRODUCTION
I. Discovered by the Germans in 1904, they named it San Diego, which of course in German means a
whale s vagina . Ron Burgundy
II. San Diego has been inhabited for over 12000 years by 4 main groups. Over 7500 years before the
Great Pyramid of Giza was constructed. Do you know who these groups are?
III. We will go on a chronological trip through the history of the city of San Diego. First covering the
Native Americans. Then we will discuss the Spanish colonization. Followed by Mexican rule. We will

Mexico won the right to California from the Spanish in the Mexican War of Independence in 1821.
The war is what ended Spanish control of what was known as New Spain.
1. Mexico began giving land grants for ranches which increased the population of San Diego. San
Diego city was established at the base of Presidio Hills which is now known as Old Town San Diego.
(6)
2. Mexican government established San Diego as a Pueblo with Juan Maria Osuna as the first
magistrate. The population of San Diego began to decrease due to its location being so far away from
the port of Point Loma. In 1838 San Diego lost its Pueblo status. (6)
B. Mexican American war occurred from 1846 to 1848 and was started after Texas s Annexation from
the Federal Republic of Mexico.
1. The war was ended with the capture of Mexico City by the United States. Part of the Treaty of
Guadalupe Hidalgo was the Mexican Cession of the territory of Alta California.

Build Wood Fire Research Paper
Since there is a possibility of getting lost in the woods it is import to know how to build a fire without
matches. It s import to know how to start a fire with no matches because some people might go
camping and forget the matches and they need to keep warm.it is also import to know how to build a
fire without matches because a person could be camping and need to cook food or to see so that is one
more reason that should know how to build a fire without matches. It is not that hard to do so I will
explain how to.
The first step is to find some wood. There are not really a certain kind of wood. If it is green, then don

There is a couple ways that a fire can be stated without matches. One of them has to be done when it is
day. It is the lens effect. That is when there old a glass lens or any kind of lens gets held up by the sun
and aimed at the fire. After a little bit it will start, but to do this it has to be the day. One more thing
you can do is rub the little pieces of wood together and after a little bit it will start. Now it is time for
the last step.
The last step is to try to keep it going. How to keep it going is to add dry wood or paper, it can help to
but all the wood should be completely dry and set with the softwood. Then make sure that there is
more wood to the side that way it can be added on to the fire. The same thing for this to the wood as to
not be green. So double check the wood before it gets put in the fire. Because if not hen it might not
work. There is a fifty fifty change that it will work, but it said on Google that it will not work.
So that is why people need to know how to build a fire with no matches. That way, if someone gets
lost in the woods, they know how to start it and to keep it going. There has been people that died
because they did not know how to start a fire with no matches. So now if someone gets lost in the
woods or goes camping know they know how to make a fire without matches. Acoting to

The Effect Of Riluzole On Treating Motor Neuron Disease...
6.10 Discussion
Neuroprotective activity of riluzole is already reported in the literature. At present, it is the only
available successful drug for treating motor neuron disease like ALS. But its poor aqueous solubility,
short half life with some side effects at higher concentration (as it is recommended twice or thrice a
day for long time) restricted its use as a neuroprotective agent (Borderias Clau, 2006; Cheah, 2010). In
the present study, we have evaluated the neuroprotective activity of nanoriluzole (NR) for treating one
of the most severe brain diseases at a quite low dose using nanocarrier. MCAO is one the best model
for ischemic stroke as it mimic most of the feature of natural brain stroke (Longa, 1989; Heurteaux,
2006; Vaibhav, 2013). Ischemia was induced in rats through MCAO model for 1 hr followed by a
reperfusion period of 24 hrs and NR was given intraperitonally after 1 hr of ischemia induction.
Animals were evaluated for their behavior study and sacrificed to remove the brain for analysing
various related parameters like infarct, biochemical, histopathology and immunohistochemical study.
It is very well demonstrated that MCAO results in the injury to striatum, cortex and hippocampus
region depending upon the time of occlusion of MCA and reperfusion period (Longa, 1989;
Nagasawa, 1989; Heurteaux, 2006). This can be clearly visualized using TTC staining. TTC which is
usually white in color is reduced by dehydogenases (especially succinate dehydrogenase) into

Tectonic Convergence At The Eurasian And African
Plate tectonic convergence at a rate of about 4 mm/year between the Eurasian and African. Plates
dominates the straits of Gibraltar (Argus et al., 1989). The stratigraphic evolution of the sediment
drifts is therefore greatly influenced by both regional tectonics and ocean circulation (Medialdea et al.,
2009; Lopes et al., 2006; Terrinha et al., 2009; Zitellini et al., 2009). Coring results from Expedition
339 showed that initial contourite formation started at about 4.5 to 4.2 Ma ago with more prominent
formation of the contourite drifts taking place in the Quaternary (Expedition 339 Scientists, 2012).
Today, circulation passing through the straits of Gibraltar is noticeable and identifiable by the
exchange of warm and salty MOW with cool and less salty North Atlantic water flowing into the
Mediterranean Sea. The MOW has a temperature of about 12°C. The sill depth of the straits of
Gibraltar known as the Camarinal Sill is about 280 m. The mixing of the MOW with the North
Atlantic central water forms two water masses, one at 500 700 m depth and the other at 800 1400 m
depth (Amber and Howe, 1979; Voelker et al., 2006; Stow et al., 2011; Voelker and de Abreu, 2011).
The formation of these water masses leads to the emergence of strong bottom currents that flow
northwestward along the margin above the North Atlantic Deep water and under the Atlantic Inflow
Water. More importantly, the merging of these strong currents and the bathymetry of the Gulf of Cadiz
has led to

What Does Hercules Have In Human Strength
Hercules Have you ever wondered what it would be like to have in human strength ? Hercules (is also
known as Heracles) has this strength. He was half man and half god. His father is Zeus, who is the god
of the sky and and ruler of the Olympian gods and his mother is a mortal named Alcmene. Hercules
also has a mother of the gods Hera, who is married to Zeus. He didn t know he was part god until he
had grown into a man. Zeus always watched over his son on earth and was a proud father. This made
Hera despise Hercules over the years. Hera tried all kinds of ways to kill him, including sending a
couple of big snakes into his crib. Hercules crushed the snakes heads with his bare hands. He had to
deal with much more obstacles during his life. Hercules had to overcome his unstable emotions, the 12
labors, and his after acceptance quests. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

in the book she is in the end stages of kidney failure. Her parents conceived Anna because they needed
a donor to keep Kate alive. Since Anna s birth, she has donated bone marrow and stem cells to Kate
repeatedly. But Anna now no longer wishes to be the live donor for her big sister. Thus, her only resort

Public International Law Is Formed By Sovereign States
Public International law is formed by sovereign states, for sovereign states and governed by the notion
of consent. The international Court of Justice under the statute of Article 38, states that when disputes
are presented they shall apply International Conventions (also known as treaties), international
customs and general principals of law and it shall draw on judicial decisions and the teachings and
writings of highly qualified publicists in determining rules of law . The domain of the sources of
Public International Law encompasses a vast and extensive agenda of frameworks in governing
relations between states. This paper will be focus predominately on the primary sources of

A treaty only binds a state when consent is expressed, per Article 11 . Duncan Hollis s article in the
Berkley Journal of International Law cited Sir Gerald Fitzmaurice when he noted that there is a
difficulty of referring to treaties as a source of law because they only bind parties to the treaty .
Treaties can present obscurity with regards to protocols, blurring their purpose with ample
opportunities for states to undermine or weaken them. This purports to present a weakness as certain
treaties may carry more or less emphasis and regard than others and at times create inequality in their
ability to constitute a source of law. This issue emerges as a ramification from the notion of consent
because, as the 1969 Vienna Convention and the words of Gerald Fitzmaurice have amplified, treaties
only bind those states who give their consent to be bound. Even in the circumstance a treaty becomes
ratified, usually in the case of multilateral treaties; it is within the states sanction to enforce a level of
reservations or exclusions on provisions within a treaty. A prime example of this was the United
Nations Convention For Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Woman, where a number

What Role Does The Satan Play In The Book Of Job
By classic definition, the character or being of the Satan is Job is not a main character, but the story is
unable to happen without his involvement. The Satan is essential for the story of Job, because without
the Satan, the trials and testing of Job would never have occurred in the first place. The role of the
Satan is equally as important to proper understanding of the book of Job. Most scholars argue that the
Satan here is a separate entity from the Devil or Satan in Jewish and Christian theological
understandings. If not the devil himself, who is this Satan? The interpretation of the role of this being
spans from divine prosecutor, servant of God, and even executioner. The role of the Satan is an
integral part in understanding the story ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Stokes states that the Executioner is the proper understanding of [the Satan] in Zechariah and Job.
Stokes bases his argument in the idea that he believes there has been improper translation of the words
the Satan from the original Hebrew by saying that the characters can also be understood as attacker or
in a legalistic approach, executioner. The acts of the Satan of Job to the Satan in the book of Zechariah
is comparable to a superhuman executioner (Stokes). The Satan of Job is the primary attacker of Job,
which is cohesive with Stokes understanding; he emphasizes the fact that the Satan viciously afflicts
the undeserving Job (Stokes). In addition, the notion of the executioner is brought in by the idea that
God verbally limits the amount pain the Satan can use to avoid the death of Job (Stokes). These
instructions limiting the Satan s freedom would have been necessary, given that the use of such
physical and lethal force would have normally been within the purview of the Executioner s authority
(Stokes). The Satan receives permission from God and the maximum punishment allowed as an
executioner would. Stokes concludes, Despite the complexity of the book of Job, it is not difficult to
see how the notion of the Executioner lies in the

Philosophy Paper 1
John Locke believes our ideas originate from intuitive knowledge based on our own experiences.
Locke states, We know that we exist on immediate reflection because of the nature of consciousness,
not because of any poor knowledge hidden within us (pg. 201). In this quote, Locke explains how his
ideas originate. He believes that our knowledge is based on experience of what we learn in nature
rather than in a pre existing hidden knowledge. This belief is what is usually called the white paper or
tabula rasa theory (pg. 201).
The white paper, according to Locke, is the tabula rasa, a blank slate that has no characteristics until

Some examples of secondary qualities are taste, color, and smell. In all these examples, perceptions
fuel our mind with what we see and how we see it. An apple can look very shiny and can have the
appearance of being red, but those are only perceptions of our mind.
It is possible to obtain certain knowledge from matters of fact because both sides of an argument in
matters of fact can be conceivable. Therefore, one would have both sides or opinions to an idea which
would lead people to obtain certainty.
Hume s fork of knowledge represents a metaphorical fork of two beliefs that seem to contrast amongst
each other. The specific beliefs in the fork of knowledge are relations of ideas and matters of fact. The
first side is called relations of ideas. Relations of ideas are propositions known with perfect certainty
that can be demonstrated using the mind alone. Thus, they do not rely on the existence of anything
(beyond the mind). If one would deny a specific relation of idea statement, the sentence would end up
sounding in an absurd and nonsense fashion. For example, if someone stated the fact; all triangles
have three sides, its opposite would be, not all triangles have three sides. This statement is nonsense
because a shape or figure that has three sides to it is and always will be a called a triangle. Thus,
relations of ideas must be true statements. These carry the weight of necessity because they are
essentially necessary

  • 2. The Campaign Of Joseph Mccarthy In 1950, fewer than fifty thousand Americans out of a total one hundred fifty million were members of the communist party. This was the information Senator Joseph McCarthy used to receive permission to proceed in exploitive communist hunts. McCarthy was dishonest in these hunts, leading to damage far beyond repair to the United States and its citizens. Joseph McCarthy mislead the United States by instilling unnecessary fear in the United States citizens, creating unnecessary tension between the United States and Soviet Union, and compromised the safety of Americans. Re Election was approaching and Joseph McCarthy s first term was unimpressive. Edmund Walsh suggested a crusade against communist subversives (Hall). Senator McCarthy agreed and took advantage of the nation s wave of fanatic terror against communism. On February 9, 1950, in his speech in Wheeling, West Virginia, McCarthy proclaimed that he was aware of two hundred five card carrying members of the communist party who worked for the United States Department of State ( McCarthyism ). On February 20, 1950, McCarthy addressed the Senate and made a list of claims and cited eight one cases ( McCarthyism ). The Senate then called for a full investigation. McCarthy took advantage of the citizens fear of communism, conveying how he deceived the nation to reach the superiority he wished to achieve. After Germany s defeat, the United States sought to help the Soviet Union, however, they wouldn t accept the Marshall Plan ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Ranging from 29mm to 36mm, the socket set is mostly used to remove axle nuts in vehicles. Used more in the steering and suspension, driveline and powertrain systems, these sockets come in handy when technicians have to remove axles or wheel hubs. The large nut that holds an axle together is well oversized for any conventional socket set, and since the use of an impact wrench will be used to remove the nut, it is recommended to use the proper impact socket so that the regular chrome socket does not break or shatter, causing a potentially harmful accident. Manufacture by Snap on tools, the socket set costs $243 and is well used in the industry as many steering and suspension components do tend to wear more. And when needed, the socket set can come in handy. And with their lifetime warranty, it is free to replace if ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In an attempt to be freed of this, she decides to try something known as Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT). Most people, when they hear the term electroconvulsive therapy have the assumption that it is used only to cure depression, but this is a common misunderstanding. It is generally less often used for other disorders, but it can be helpful to people with schizophrenia, especially people who are catatonic, which is a state of muscular rigidity and stupor ( Catatonia ). A definition of schizophrenia is a chronic brain disorder with symptoms that may include delusions hallucinations, trouble with thinking and concentration, and a lack of motivation. The disorder affects slightly more than one percent of the population and is found to run in families (Scutti). Many people also describe it as hearing multiple voices or sounds in your head. Sometimes the sounds are vague and are more like a rustle or a beep. If there are voices, sometimes the words are inaudible, but when a voice is recognizable, it s like being surrounded by a gang of bullies said Tanya Luhrman, a Stanford anthropologist (Standen). • 6. Summary Of The Great Storytellingki-Tikki Tavi The Great Rikki tikki tavi Bravery has many characters and one mammal has them all. Rikki tikki tavi fought single handed, through the bathrooms of the big bungalow in Segowlee cantonment. Darzee, the tailor bird, helped him, and Chuchundra, the muskrat, who never comes out into the middle of the floor but always creeps round by the wall, gave him advice; but Rikki tikki did the real fighting. He was a mongoose, rather like a little cat in his fur and his tail but quite like a weasel in his head and his habits. His eyes and the end of his restless nose were pink; he could scratch himself anywhere he pleased with any leg, front or back, that he chose to use; he could fluff up his tail till it looked like a bottle. One day, a high summer flood washed him out of the burrow where he lived with his father and mother and carried him, kicking and clucking, down a roadside ditch. He found a little wisp of grass floating there and clung to it till he lost his senses. When he revived, he was lying in the hot sun in the middle of a garden path, very draggled indeed, and a small boy was saying: Here s a dead mongoose. Let s have a funeral. No, said his mother; let s take him in and dry him. Perhaps he isn t really dead. (Kipling 143) The book by Rudyard Kipling and the movie Rikki tikki tavi is about a mongoose named Rikki tikki tavi. This mammal is one of the great fighters of the dreaded cobras, and in this story, the Rulers of the garden. The book ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Short plays such as Antigone are exemplary literatures that contain a vast amount of ethical issues, therefore enforcing critical thinking. Antigone, a tragic drama play, was created by Sophocles before 441 BC. The well written play dictates the story of a young woman who is charged for burying her brother as a representation of honor and the thoughts of a stubborn king. Creon is a self centered character that is after Antigone and does everything in his power to murder her. Finally, the play illustrates that bad leadership that involves and leads to vanity, murder, and oppression. Creon is the powerful king who rules the state after the death of Oedipus, with his ruling power he clearly shows throughout the play a sense of vanity. The Digestive System And The Function Of The Digestive System The alimentary canal is where the digestive system takes place; it has different components in order for food to be thoroughly processed. The digestive system is composed of an enteric nervous system and has four layers of tissues; the mucosa, submucosa, muscularis externa, and serosa. Food enters through the mouth and passes through the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, and the large intestine before exiting the body through the anal canal. This occurs within the digestive system in four main steps; ingestion, where food enters through the mouth, digestion where food is broken down physically and chemically, absorption where nutrients are taken to their desired organ for use in the body, and elimination where waste is removed from the body due to being useless or toxic. When it comes to the human body there are plenty of components that we take for granted. Think about it, when was the last time you dwelled upon the function of your saliva or pondered on the responsibility of the esophagus? If you are like me, the answer to the question is simple, never. It is because our body is one of the greatest and yet most underappreciated machinery known to man. Within that system, which tends to get a lack of appreciation, stands alone one main process that we utilize on a daily basis and rarely give credence to its importance. Monetary Policies And Monetary Policy Monetary Policies (Introduction) The objective of monetary policy is to reserve the worth of the money by keeping inflation low, stable and predictable that lets Canadians be more confident about the spending and investment choices. It reassures long term investment in Canada s economy as well as contributes to continuous job creation and better the production. It helps improve living standard. Canada s monetary policy outline consists of two key components working together and reinforcing each other: the inflation control target and the flexible exchange rate. The inflation control target directs the decisions of the Bank regarding the proper setting of the policy interest rate that maintains a stable price environment throughout the medium term. Influencing Short Term Interest Rates As to reach the inflation target, the banks have to make changes in the policy rate by raising or lowering it. If inflation is beyond target, the banks will have to increase the policy rate, this inspires institutions to increase interest rates on the loan and mortgages. Discouraging borrowing and spending which enables upward pressure on price. If inflation is under the goal, banks will lower the policy rate which would then encourage financial institutions to lower interest rates on the loans and mortgages. The movies and its modernisms occasionally have to catch up to the idea of nation, however sometimes it leads and shapes nation too. According to Berry and Farquhar (2006), Chinese movies have played a critical role in shaping nation and national identity amongst Chinese. This essay will mainly focus on how Chinese cinema has reflected and shaped the idea of nation. Apart from that, the history of Chinese cinema, other famous traits such as Beijing opera and martial arts are also debated in how it reflects nation. Additionally, I will examine how the framing and characterization of Lee, and in specific in his role as Chen Zhen in the film Fist of Fury compresses within the masculine body of Bruce Lee the character of Chinese nationalism and masculinity. What do cinema and movies actually mean? The term cinema is defined as the art of moving pictures or a visual media that tells stories, exposes reality and conveys messages. On the other hand, movies, also called a film or motion picture is also a story that is communicated with animating images. Besides that, the cinema often reflects to specific degree the culture, traditions and heritage of a nation, its historical concerns as well as its societies enjoyments, sorrows and hopes throughout history. Since then, there was a period of 42 years under economic regulation where the government oversaw labor relations. Since deregulation, the goals of collective bargaining have not changed much, nor have the objectives of management and labor unions. (Wensveen, 2011, p. 422) The deregulation of the airline industry may have been a win for passengers, but most likely not a win for labor groups. Prior to deregulation the airline industry was highly unionized, enjoying excellent wages, benefits and pensions. Since deregulation there has been a drop in wages and most carriers have eliminated pensions. Also before deregulation, unions would bargain with management at each air carrier and once a contract was reached, the next carrier would begin bargaining from the other contract, to enhance theirs. This continued bargaining from carrier to carrier helped to build better work rules and compensation. Labor relations before deregulation were generally good, with the CAB setting fares it guaranteed profits around 12 percent, the increased labor costs were passed onto the passengers. This allowed the unions and management to maintain amicable relations while providing a productive work environment. After deregulation, the work of the labor unions began to crash down. • 29. The Effect Of Riluzole On Treating Motor Neuron Disease... 6.10 Discussion Neuroprotective activity of riluzole is already reported in the literature. At present, it is the only available successful drug for treating motor neuron disease like ALS. But its poor aqueous solubility, short half life with some side effects at higher concentration (as it is recommended twice or thrice a day for long time) restricted its use as a neuroprotective agent (Borderias Clau, 2006; Cheah, 2010). In the present study, we have evaluated the neuroprotective activity of nanoriluzole (NR) for treating one of the most severe brain diseases at a quite low dose using nanocarrier. MCAO is one the best model for ischemic stroke as it mimic most of the feature of natural brain stroke (Longa, 1989; Heurteaux, 2006; Vaibhav, 2013). Ischemia was induced in rats through MCAO model for 1 hr followed by a reperfusion period of 24 hrs and NR was given intraperitonally after 1 hr of ischemia induction. Animals were evaluated for their behavior study and sacrificed to remove the brain for analysing various related parameters like infarct, biochemical, histopathology and immunohistochemical study. It is very well demonstrated that MCAO results in the injury to striatum, cortex and hippocampus region depending upon the time of occlusion of MCA and reperfusion period (Longa, 1989; Nagasawa, 1989; Heurteaux, 2006). Coring results from Expedition 339 showed that initial contourite formation started at about 4.5 to 4.2 Ma ago with more prominent formation of the contourite drifts taking place in the Quaternary (Expedition 339 Scientists, 2012). Today, circulation passing through the straits of Gibraltar is noticeable and identifiable by the exchange of warm and salty MOW with cool and less salty North Atlantic water flowing into the Mediterranean Sea. The mixing of the MOW with the North Atlantic central water forms two water masses, one at 500 700 m depth and the other at 800 1400 m depth (Amber and Howe, 1979; Voelker et al., 2006; Stow et al., 2011; Voelker and de Abreu, 2011). The formation of these water masses leads to the emergence of strong bottom currents that flow northwestward along the margin above the North Atlantic Deep water and under the Atlantic Inflow Water. More importantly, the merging of these strong currents and the bathymetry of the Gulf of Cadiz has led to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A treaty only binds a state when consent is expressed, per Article 11 . Duncan Hollis s article in the Berkley Journal of International Law cited Sir Gerald Fitzmaurice when he noted that there is a difficulty of referring to treaties as a source of law because they only bind parties to the treaty . Treaties can present obscurity with regards to protocols, blurring their purpose with ample opportunities for states to undermine or weaken them. This purports to present a weakness as certain treaties may carry more or less emphasis and regard than others and at times create inequality in their ability to constitute a source of law. This issue emerges as a ramification from the notion of consent because, as the 1969 Vienna Convention and the words of Gerald Fitzmaurice have amplified, treaties only bind those states who give their consent to be bound. Even in the circumstance a treaty becomes ratified, usually in the case of multilateral treaties; it is within the states sanction to enforce a level of reservations or exclusions on provisions within a treaty. A prime example of this was the United Nations Convention For Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Woman, where a number ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 34. What Role Does The Satan Play In The Book Of Job By classic definition, the character or being of the Satan is Job is not a main character, but the story is unable to happen without his involvement. The Satan is essential for the story of Job, because without the Satan, the trials and testing of Job would never have occurred in the first place. The role of the Satan is equally as important to proper understanding of the book of Job. Most scholars argue that the Satan here is a separate entity from the Devil or Satan in Jewish and Christian theological understandings. If not the devil himself, who is this Satan? The interpretation of the role of this being spans from divine prosecutor, servant of God, and even executioner. The role of the Satan is an integral part in understanding the story ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Stokes states that the Executioner is the proper understanding of [the Satan] in Zechariah and Job. Stokes bases his argument in the idea that he believes there has been improper translation of the words the Satan from the original Hebrew by saying that the characters can also be understood as attacker or in a legalistic approach, executioner. The acts of the Satan of Job to the Satan in the book of Zechariah is comparable to a superhuman executioner (Stokes). The Satan of Job is the primary attacker of Job, which is cohesive with Stokes understanding; he emphasizes the fact that the Satan viciously afflicts the undeserving Job (Stokes). In addition, the notion of the executioner is brought in by the idea that God verbally limits the amount pain the Satan can use to avoid the death of Job (Stokes). These instructions limiting the Satan s freedom would have been necessary, given that the use of such physical and lethal force would have normally been within the purview of the Executioner s authority (Stokes). The Satan receives permission from God and the maximum punishment allowed as an executioner would. Stokes concludes, Despite the complexity of the book of Job, it is not difficult to see how the notion of the Executioner lies in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 35. Philosophy Paper On John Locke Christian Hubbard Dr. Burgess Philosophy 101 September 27, 2017 Philosophy Paper 1 John Locke believes our ideas originate from intuitive knowledge based on our own experiences. Locke states, We know that we exist on immediate reflection because of the nature of consciousness, not because of any poor knowledge hidden within us (pg. 201). In this quote, Locke explains how his ideas originate. He believes that our knowledge is based on experience of what we learn in nature rather than in a pre existing hidden knowledge. This belief is what is usually called the white paper or tabula rasa theory (pg. 201). The white paper, according to Locke, is the tabula rasa, a blank slate that has no characteristics until someone experiences ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Some examples of secondary qualities are taste, color, and smell. In all these examples, perceptions fuel our mind with what we see and how we see it. An apple can look very shiny and can have the appearance of being red, but those are only perceptions of our mind. It is possible to obtain certain knowledge from matters of fact because both sides of an argument in matters of fact can be conceivable. Therefore, one would have both sides or opinions to an idea which would lead people to obtain certainty. Hume s fork of knowledge represents a metaphorical fork of two beliefs that seem to contrast amongst each other. The specific beliefs in the fork of knowledge are relations of ideas and matters of fact. The first side is called relations of ideas. Relations of ideas are propositions known with perfect certainty that can be demonstrated using the mind alone. Thus, they do not rely on the existence of anything (beyond the mind). If one would deny a specific relation of idea statement, the sentence would end up sounding in an absurd and nonsense fashion. For example, if someone stated the fact; all triangles have three sides, its opposite would be, not all triangles have three sides. This statement is nonsense because a shape or figure that has three sides to it is and always will be a called a triangle. Thus, relations of ideas must be true statements. These carry the weight of necessity because they are essentially necessary ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
