Questions On Using The Surface Concentration Of Water
The Scientific Method in Action
Using The Surface Tension of Water
Izzy Sunby Pd. 6
Question: What is the question your class will be testing?
How many drops of room temperature water can we put on a penny?
Hypothesis: It is a prediction of what you believe will happen in an experiment. Based on the variable
that you are testing, write down a simple hypothesis of what you expect to see during your
experiment.
Example: If we lower the temperature of the penny, it will have more drops.
If we test the tail side of the penny, with room temperature water, then we will be able to fit over 20
drops of water on the penny.
Now you are ready to conduct your experiment. Remember in a good experiment we want only one
variable ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Write your procedure below so that you know what to do for your experiment: Use as many steps as
you need. You do not need to use all 25 lines.
1.Gather the materials that are listed above.
2. Mark a place on your flat, stable surface to designate where you will always be putting your penny.
3. Place your penny tail side up on your designated spot on your flat surface.
4. Dip your eye dropper into your beaker of water and pinch the top, then release it to collect water in
your dropper.
5. Hold the eyedropper perpendicular to the flat surface (at a 90 degree angle), about 1 cm over the
penny.
6. One by one, pinch the top of the eyedropper to let a drop of water out of the bottom and onto the
penny. Count how many drops you can fit onto the penny until it spills over onto your flat surface.
7. Using paper towel, dry up any water that might have spilt on the table.
8. Using your chromebook, record the number of drops you fit onto the penny on your data table in the
observation section of this document.

Cover Art In Dracula
In summarizing the works of Sigmund Freud, Robert Michaels concluded, Everything in the world is
about sex except sex. Sex is about power (Seeling 118). Bram Stoker s 1897 gothic horror novel
Dracula is no exception to this primordial certainty. With disregard to the negative attitudes exhibited
toward human sexuality throughout the Victorian era, the pages of Dracula are implicitly saturated
with erotic symbolism, imagery, and allegory. Consequently, for more than a century, many of the
various illustrations used as cover art for the novel have echoed the book s exploration of the
forbidden fruit, the titillating, and taboo. The Dracula cover art as pictured above, conspicuously
portrays the duality of the male obsession with feminine sexuality ... Show more content on

Further, it represents menstrual taboo within society. While erotic images of the naked female body
are celebrated and embraced as in the collage. Womanhood is reviled openly because of this idea that
naturally occurring biological cycles are repulsive and therefore women are also repulsive. The
manner with which the one feminine figure takes the place of the man s mouth represents that this idea
of women as sexual beings is unspeakable. It relays that men enjoy the sensual nature of women, yet
the topic should be suppressed. The only distinguishable facial characteristic on the male s face, the
eye, is also very important. The eye represents the all seeing, authority, and supremacy. The male eye
can look upon the females naked bodies. He can derive pleasure from the women yet return upon them
judgement and shame. The eye, therefore is the figurative representation of unbalanced power

Roosevelt s Opponents To The New Deal
Roosevelt s Opponents to the New Deal Roosevelt received a lot of credit for the success of his New
Deal Reform Acts, which made him quite popular among so many Americans. However, not everyone
was happy about some of his New Deal Reforms, and he was faced with much opposition from some
individuals as well as a few larger groups. The largest group to oppose not just one, but several of the
New Deal Acts was the United Stated Supreme Court. In 1935 the Supreme Court took a stance from a
legal perspective to invalidate some of these New Deal laws. The first New Deal law to be affected
was the National Recover Association (NRA). The NRA was declared to be unconstitutional, because
it violated fair competition codes and restricted the separation

Essay On Goddess Of Passion ( Xana And Durihan )
Edana, Goddess of Passion (Xana and Durihan)
Have you heard of the Goddess Edana? Sven asked over the fire. The stars were already out, the night
sky a blanket for the Kingdom of Felhine. And beneath the stars, sitting in the midst of a forest was a
man and woman around a fire. The man a strong and proud warrior of the north, broad shoulders
accompanied by defined and battle tested muscle. He looked very much the part of a barbarian, and
the way he fought only confirmed that. But who Sven really was was a mercenary, and adventurer, a
sell sword. Traveling the kingdom to experience life at it s fullest. And the woman across from him?

Of course it wasn t the only place for such devotions to be enacted.
The very temple Sven spoke of, in the Capitol of Felhine was alive that very night. To call it a brothel
would be an insult, seeing how brothels were kept to the outer reaches of the city. The temple of
Edana was one of many temples, built and placed within the inner sphere of the city. Yes, for some
gold one could sleep with the gorgeous priestess s that called the temple home. But what temple didn t
accept payment for service? The Sect of Dorfane took gold for prophetic guidance on people s futures,
and the Sect of Bro Kul took gold for administering the rites of the dead. Just because the Sect of
Edana performed acts of flesh didn t make their worship, their deeds any less divine. Regardless
people came from all corners of the kingdom just for one night with the Divine prostitutes of Edana.
And Gareth was no different.
Where Gareth came from, what Gareth did for a living, what family he claimed no one knew. Nor
would they ask, he was a man that only appeared at night in the Capitol. An air of uneasiness seemed
to befall any that crossed his path. And yet those that Gareth took interest in, those he pursued seemed
to be transfixed by him, fascinated. But what else would they feel? Gareth was a vampire after all, no

Thomas Malthus Research Paper
Thomas Malthus Thomas Robert Malthus once said The power of population is so superior to the
power of the earth to produce subsistence for man, that premature death must in some shape of other
visit the human race. (qotd.org) He was a very influential English economist of the ninth century who
followed in the footsteps of Adam Smith. ( Thomas Robert Malthus. The Victorian Web.) Many
philosophers during the seventh century believed that the human population would be maintained, but
Malthus disagreed with this theory. He was the first man to publically predict that there was a limit to
human population. He feared the danger of overpopulation, and he wanted to draw attention to the
issue. ( Thomas Robert Malthus. Encyclopedia of World Biography.) He changed the way people
viewed population growth. Malthus was born on February 14th, 1766 into a wealthy family. His father

they face in their academic and career development. Mentoring relationships, critical components of
the SCSE s influence, are fostered by the SCSE s advisors, mostly Ph.D. level minority scientists.

Introduction A goal of President Barack Obama s Educate to Innovate initiative in 2008 was to
increase the contributions of underrepresented minority (URM) students in science, technology,
engineering, and mathematics (STEM) (White House, 2009). Notably, in the context of the United
States, the fastest growing and youngest URMs are Hispanics. Demographic projections suggest that
Hispanics will comprise 30 percent of the U.S. population by 2040 and the majority demographic
group in several states (United States Census, 2008). Thus, the need to encourage and support
innovation and competitiveness in STEM participation is important, especially for Hispanic students,
who are significantly underrepresented. In 2009, Hispanics represented 16 percent of the U. S.
population and 26 percent of all undergraduate enrollments, but they earned just 11.9 percent of
STEM bachelor s degrees in that year (National Science Foundation (NSF), 2010). In terms of STEM
disciplines, Hispanics received 3.4 percent of all bachelor s degrees awarded in the life sciences, 0.7
percent in the physical sciences, 0.5 percent in mathematics, 2.6 percent in the computer science field
and 4.7 percent in engineering (Chen, Ho Soldner, 2013). This low STEM degree

The music of the city
As Melbourne is the most liveable city in the world it also has a very wide variety of music. As you
venture though the exquisite streets of Melbourne, on almost every block you would find a musician
busking for money and usually they are very good. The definition of music is Vocal or instrumental
sound (or both) combined in such a way as to produce beauty of form, harmony, and expression of
motion and to me I personally Melbourne s CBD conveys this definition and is a set of rules that these
musicians live by. In Melbourne, there is many places to go and listen to music, whether it s in the
streets of Elizabeth street or in the clubs of king street, Melbourne never fails to provide a good
variety of music.

Feminine Sexuality in The Storm
Kate Chopin s short story The Storm ; describes an encounter of infidelity between two lovers during
a brief thunderstorm. The story alludes to the controversial topic of women s sexuality and passion,
which during Chopin s time no one spoke about much less wrote about. So controversial was The
Storm, ; that it was not published until after her death in eighteen ninety nine. The story is broken up
into five sections, each filled with small clues and hints that reflect her message. In short, Kate Chopin
s The Storm ; is about a confirmation of feminine sexuality and passion and a rejection of the
suppression of it by society.
The title of The Storm ; gives the reader a peek into the underlying meaning of the story. It obviously

Her sexuality has been repressed by the constraints of her marriage and society s view of women,
represented by the housework being done before the storm hits. Chopin alludes to this theme of
suppression again as Alcee is invited into Calixta s home. The author writes, Come long in, M sieur
Alcee. His voice and her own startled her as if from a trance, and she seized Bobinot s vest. Alcee,
mounting to the porch, grabbed the trousers and snatched Bibi s braided jacket that was about to be
carried away by a sudden gust of wind. ; Alcee grabs Bobinot s pants, symbolically subverting the
social and martial constraints that control Calixta.
Chopin presents many details of Calixta s affirmation of her sexuality and passion. As the storm s
intensity increases, it becomes necessary to put something underneath the door to keep the rain out.
My! what a rain! It s good two years sence it rained it rain like that, exclaimed Calixta as she rolled up
a piece of bagging and Alcee helped her to thrust it beneath the crack. ; The sexual connotation of
thrusting it beneath the crack ; is evident, but it is important to notice that Calixta initiates this sexual
act, not Alcee. This is a far cry from an ordinary, repressed housewife. Quite the contrary, Chopin

The Issues Of The Refugee Crisis
Introduction
We dream of a united world but reality makes us question this concept throwing at us the stories of
unfortunate people deprived of their basic human rights. Increase in Refugee flows is now the major
concern of contemporary international relations. This essay will first briefly explain the refugee crisis.
Secondly, discusses the different approaches adopted by different countries to address the issue. Third,
the paper aims to discover the various ethical aspects and apply theories to evaluate and analyse the
issue and finally put forward possible solutions.
Background
Refugees are by lawful definition, individuals asserting to have a very much grounded trepidation of
abuse in their nation of source in light of their race, religion, national birthplace, political feeling, or
participation in a specific social gathering (Schuck, 2008). There were roughly 1.5 million displaced
people far and wide in 1951, when the United High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) was initially
settled developing to 8.2 million by 1980. In 1997, the UNHCR assessed that there were more than
thirteen million exiles universally, speaking to an expansion of 866 for each penny in 44 years
(Loescher 1992; Dupont 1996; Stalker n.d.a). In 2001 and 2002 coinciding with the US wars in
Afghanistan and Iraq, number of refugees intensified. 2005 to 2009 saw an increase in the number of
Sri Lankan refugees, with the country ushering in a state of emergency, and the Government declaring

appealing commercial I d run to my mom and try to slickly mention it. You know McDonalds has a

Advertising has a negative effect on a child s health. Approximately 20% of our youth in the United
States of America are now overweight with obesity rates in preschool age children increasing at an
alarming speed. The issue of childhood obesity is a serious one. Obesity rates have tripled in the last
twenty five years. As reported by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the prevalence of
obesity has more than doubled among children between the ages of two to five and ages six to eleven.
In teens ages twelve to nineteen, prevalence rates have tripled. Obesity in childhood places children
and youth at risk for becoming obese as adults and associated poor health such as diabetes,
cardiovascular disease, and certain kinds of cancer. Research has found strong associations between
increases in advertising for non nutritious foods and rates of childhood obesity. Most children under
the age of six can t distinguish the difference between regular programming and advertising. Children
under the age of eight don t understand the persuasive intentions of advertising. (The impact of food

The Whale Rider By Niki Caro
The Whale Rider by Niki Caro is a film about a young girl, Paikea s journey to acceptance from her
grandfather. This film explores many themes such as feminism, family and conflict. One of the main
conflicts explored throughout this film is the conflict between Nanny Flowers and Koro, Paikea s
grandparents. Conflict is an important issue in this film because it causes rupture among an already
fractured family.
The film Whale Rider is based around a family living on the East Coast of New Zealand, in
Whangara. The film revolves around two characters, Koro and his granddaughter Paikea. Koro is the

Nanny Flowers didn t like this gesture and after Koro had said goodbye made him hold her. Here, hold
your granddaughter, Nanny told him. This was an important quote for, during this time because of
Koro s rejection too Paikea the conflict between these two characters ignited. Nanny Flowers thought
this was wrong and stood by Paikea for she was only an innocent child and Koro was being a blinded
man. He was looking for something that didn t exist, a prophet, a new leader who was going to lead
their family to great heights. During this scene, Niki Caro used some clever camera movement and
shot compositions to enhance the message she was trying to get across. When we see Koro saying
goodbye to Pai s brother the shot we see is from behind a glass wall, behind Nanny Flowers shoulders.
This was effective because the shot was made out to be from Nanny Flowers perspective. Caro also
used the wall as a barrier showing that there is separation between the characters. This was clever of
Caro because this event was the beginning of the conflict between Nanny Flowers and Koro.
Throughout the film the conflict between these characters builds until the very end of the film when,
the conflict reaches its peak. At the end of the film one of the last events is helping a whole pod of
beached whales, back into the sea. After a long night s struggle Paikea gets onto the biggest

Human Interaction with Nature in the Works of Aldo Leopold and Elizabeth Bishop
The poet Elizabeth Bishop and the naturalist Aldo Leopold share a keen power of observation, a
beautifully detailed manner of writing, a love for the beauty of nature, and an interest in how people
interact with the natural world. Like Leopold, Bishop examines human interactions with nature on
both the personal and the ecological level. On the individual level, a hunter s contact with the animal
he or she is hunting changes his or her attitude toward nature in both Bishop s poem The Fish and
Leopold s essay Thinking Like a Mountain. On the larger level, both Bishop in her poem The
Mountain and Leopold throughout the Sand County Almanac envision the ... Show more content on

For both narrators, this lack of emotional connection changes when they notice some striking detail
about the wolf or fish which awakens them to the symbolic value of the animal and transforms their
way of relating to nature. Leopold sees a fierce green fire dying (130) in the eyes of the wolf and
senses that his neat equation of fewer wolves equals more deer is inadequate, and that wolves have an
importance unknown to him. He goes on to develop a new conservation ethic, one that values wolves
as well as deer and protects wild animals for their own sake and that of the ecosystem, not just for the
pleasure of hunters. Bishop s speaker notices five fishhooks dangling from the fish s mouth and
realizes how many times the fish has battled for its life and won. Its fighting spirit earns her respect
and causes her to release the fish.
The particular symbolic value that each writer finds in the wild animal is evident in his or her
beautifully poetic descriptions of the animal. Each admires the animal for its undaunted courage in the
face of a harsh existence. Bishop repeatedly uses words and images which personify the fish as a wise
old warrior: the fish is battered and venerable

Persuasive Essay About Travelling Solo
The most incredible thing about traveling solo is that you make all the decisions, right or wrong! You
decide where, how, when and what you will see and do. But certainly, it does not appeal to everyone,
and it does have a downside like not being able to share on the spot experiences with another. There is
no one to share the planning and discussions on the best way to achieve the final desired outcome.
However, traveling solo allows you to learn more about yourself and what you are capable of. Some
people think traveling solo is the boring option but I believe if you are capable of being happy
traveling by yourself, you will find happiness forever. Not only will you never have to depend on
others to make you content but when you travel solo you also give yourself the chance to pursue what
you want, to step out of your comfort zone and meet other people from all sorts of walks of life.
A brilliant idea to volunteer
While travelling abroad solo, volunteering stands out as a very prudent option to consider, especially
keeping you focused and motivated. For instance, if you have just completed your graduation and now
contemplating posting your C.V. on an online portal; in this competitive world, getting a job is a tough
thing. You have to be the best in your field. Resumes are flooded with extra curricular activities,
internships and last but not the least, work experience. However, most of us miss mentioning

which has been on display in the British Museum since the early 1800s. The collection includes 75

frieze is the highly decorative section above the columns in classical Greek architecture. The
collection is controversial because of its namesake the seventh Earl of Elgin removed the treasures

Barriers to Effective Communication
Even though an individual s backgrounds and beliefs can affect the process of communication, one
must utilize the different processes and components to achieve effective communication. Because
barriers block the listening process causing misunderstanding that may block the flow of information
between individuals. Therefore, this misunderstanding may blur the lines of communication utilized
within the criminal justice system.

be Competence. In relation to the adult field of nursing, this is one of the most important values when
caring for a patient effectively (Scott Tilley, 2008.). In order to do this, Driscoll s model of reflection
(Driscoll, 2011) shall be used to assess the use of this competency within practice. This model was
chosen because of its best fit to Ghaye Lillyman (2010) explained reflection to be a development of
our practice through trial and error. For the purpose of this assignment, patients will be referred to by

Cummings and Bennett (DOH, 2012.) The Six C s include care, competence, courage, commitment,
compassion and care. These are the main focus area for nursing practice and are vital to giving
patients best care. As explained by the Department of Health (2012), competence is understanding the
needs of service users by using expertise, clinical and technical knowledge in order to provide them
with the best quality of care. Bradshaw (2008) explained that in order to provide good

Reflection About Misfit
The response is based on my experience that was faced with overcoming the obstacle of my misfit
situation, which began on September 8th, 2015 that continued onto April 11th, 2017. It will feature the
overall story, evidence, and my obstacle of finding the best college for me. This paper has a strong
sense regarding to the definition of misfit doing something out of ordinary to where I m at as a college
student.
Now, onto my experience. I was sitting in Study Hall then I overheard a conversation between a
student and teacher regarding this program called Futures Lab, which is a program to guide students
into college. This conversation inspired me to leave Study Hall; to check out Futures Lab so I d started
searching Special Needs Colleges which gave me a surplus of colleges to look from such as
Landmark, Mitchell and Beacon Colleges. The first website that intrigued me was Mitchell College;
which was first on my top choices of schools as it provided train transportation and my major, which
is Television Communications. One of two things that I did was, doing a virtual tour of campus as that
s when my excitement was out of control since Mitchell was the college that was a perfect fit at that
certain time. Then the second thing that I did was; I had recorded information in my notebook and
printed about fifteen pages of paper on Mitchell College to give to my parents for them to read why
Mitchell was the right place for me to get my education.

Types Of Evidence For Instructional Purposes Essay
1. Once you have identified supporting claims, the grounds of an argument, then you need to be able
to evaluate the evidence that will be used to prove these claims. Evidence is the most important part of
any inductive argument. But it is important to recognize that not all evidence is reliable. Some types of
evidence can t be trusted at all. And even when good evidence is used, it might not be appropriate for
certain types of claims. Thus, evidence has to be both reliable and logically appropriate, in a word
valid, in order to prove a claim true or false.
2. To oversimplify for instructional purposes, I want to explore nine major types of evidence that are
most commonly used in arguments, starting with the weakest form of evidence and moving forward
toward the strongest form. I will briefly explain each type of evidence, focusing on how reliable it
tends to be (strong to weak) and how it could be appropriately used.
Handout: Types of Evidence Sources
3. The first type of evidence is personal experience, sometimes called testimony or an eye witness
account. This evidence is based on what an individual experiences directly or indirectly.
Psychologically, we naturally consider this type of evidence to be the strongest because it is the most
immediate and intimately tied to our local world, which we know the best. However, from a
sociological perspective, personal experience is actually the weakest type of evidence.
4. Even when our eyes see clearly

Ccl4 Induced Fibrosis
Chronic liver diseases is one of main threaten to human health. Many sources can lead to chronic liver
diseases, such as hepatitis virus infection: hepatitis B mainly in East Asia and hepatitis C in North
America, unhealthy lifestyle: excessive drinking and/or obese induced fatty liver disease (Jarčuška et
al., 2010). Most kinds of chronic liver diseases will lead to liver inflammation, hepatocellular
dysfunction, activation of hepatic stellate cells (HSCs) and accumulation of extracellular matrix,
which is known as liver fibrosis, then further developed to cirrhosis and even hepatocellular
carcinoma. Liver has the regeneration capability, in chronic liver diseases, hepatic stellate cells
(HSCs) are activated and proliferate abundantly, overexpress collagens and other extracellular matrix
(ECM) fibrillar compounds to replace damaged liver parenchyma, this process is known as liver
fibrosis. The early stage of liver fibrosis is reversible when appropriate antifibrotic therapies are used
and/or causative agents are removed. If not, liver fibrosis will develop to irreversible cirrhosis

Dwight D. Eisenhower s Speech
Dwight D. Eisenhower was one of Americas most influential presidents. He ended his successful
public career with a farewell speech outlining the growth of the nation and warnings about the future.
Firstly, I will examine the effectiveness of Eisenhower s speech.
I found his speech to be well written, it held my attention and gave a clear message to protect the
future of the nation and its resources. I define a well written speech as one that can keep an audience
listening and wanting more. An effective speech must also have a clear message, and not contradict
itself. Eisenhower s speech concluded his second term as President on a good note, and it gave the
nation critical information on national defense, innovation, and the future for our people. Eisenhower s
speech gave a clear message of national pride while also giving advice on our scientific and military
future.
Now I will discuss the location and historical significance of the speeches. Eisenhower televised his
speech live from the White House. This use of technology allowed him to reach a wide audience,
some of which who would not have been able to attend his speech. The historical significance of his
speech was the long successful presidency that he was handing over to the much younger John F.
Kennedy.
Now I will examine the structure of Eisenhower s speech. His speech began with a brief introduction
thanking the broadcasting companies and giving his blessing to his successor, John F. Kennedy. The

Rhetorical Analysis Of 1984 By George Orwell
In this excerpt from 1984, by George Orwell, Winston Smith, a worker for the ministry of truth, has
been caught for committing a thought crime and is being taken to room 101 for punishment. During
the passage, Smith desperately tries to escape his punishment. Through the use of rhetorical devices
such as repetition, imagery, and details, the tone of urgency is revealed In the excerpt, Orwell uses the
rhetorical device of repetition in order to create suspense. For example, right before the rats are going
to attack, Winston says, Do it to Julia! Do it to Julia! Not me! Julia! I don t care what you do to her.
Tear her face off, strip her to the bones. Not me! Julia! Not me! The repetitive screams for help from
Winston reveals the tone as he is frantically begging for mercy. Another example of repetition is used
is when Orwell writes, To think, to think, even with a split second left to think was the only hope This
reveals the tone as it reveals Winston only has a split second to save himself from the rats, and he must
be able to think fast in order to do it. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, when Orwell describes, The circle of the mask was large enough now to shut out the
vision of anything else. The wire door was a couple of hand spans from his face. The rats knew what
was coming now. This creates the tone as the rats are now closing in on Winston and are preparing to
attack, which leaves him little time left before he must face his fear. In addition, another example is
when the book says Winston heard a succession of shrill cries which appeared to be occurring in the
air above his head. But he fought furiously against his panic. This displays the tone as Winston has
now begun to panic after hearing the cries of the rats above him. As he desperately fights against his
punishment, the tone of urgency is

Is Rehash And Put On The Tube The Negativity Of Life For...
Why rehash and put on the tube the negativity of life for every recurring commemoration? It s
important to know what happened and remember the outcomes in our hearts, then put it to rest. Why
keep it alive and let the wounds keep on burning? Showing, and talking about it, keeps it alive and as
such, is an inspiration for the weak minds. We saw and heard the mimicking of those saddening
episodes multiplying, instead than diminishing, not to mention the special interest that lies behind the
feeding of the pain, orchestrated for the money that such recurrence can generate. What can be
targeted as a negative impact shouldn t be kept alive, but replaced with a positive, for a positive
inspiration as a simple and healthy equation. They say we have to remember the negative that was
done. I say: I rather forget it, remembering a happy positive one, makes me feel better. What we are
projecting with our minds, is what we get, the option selected and what derives out of it, is rightfully
ours. We are wasting so much time, we are falling short in the progress of formulating a better world.
The reasons for such a delay, is due to the politicians trapped in their contorted games played under
the financial kingdom rules and the shortsightedness of their thousand dollar suit soldiers ruled by
their unconscious fears. This is a mechanism that covers such a large gamut that falls too short for
fairness, leaving the state of affairs mutilated with no sign in sight of a very much needed

Ineffective Human Resources Leads At The Performance Gap...
Ineffective Human Resources leads to the performance gap. There is no doubt that there are an
insufficient number of lab technicians which might have caused deficiencies in human resources.
However, the organization has eminently framed the lab hours of the diagnostic department in a
structured way, so that a technician is available for every scheduled appointment at each lab.
Dr. Lalitha agreed on early check up for Mrs. Kumari. She has eminently utilized the available time
generated due to the absence of another patient. She was successful in synchronizing the demand and
capacity.
The lack of new curtains and air fresheners questions the efficiency of the inventory control. The
organization must assign a person to check inventory on a regular basis to avoid any shortage.
Every individual in the hospital have his or her equal contribution towards overall service quality,
including the customer himself/herself. Patients are expected to have a minimum knowledge of their

thoroughly, before blaming the hospital personals, for not providing transport services. She and her
father did not use the option to call to the hospital for assistance in filling the forms. The patient from
the next bed started screaming, without even thinking how it wound impact the other patients.

People of the world are in need to find and develop new sources of energy to power their lives. Owing
to the increasing demand for electrical energy, world s fossil fuel supply will thus be depleted in a few
decades. Hence, alternative or renewable sources of energy have to be developed to meet the future
energy requirement. Grid connected wind capacity is undergoing through fastest rate of growth
compared to any other form of renewable power generation, achieving global annual growth rates of
20 30 %. The power electronic converters play a major role in wind energy conversion system for
controlling and conditioning of output power from wind energy. During last few years matrix
converters and multi level converter topologies have generated significant interest. This paper
discusses the diode clamped multilevel matrix converter design for double fed induction generator
based wind energy conversion system. The MATLAB/SIMULINK software is used for analyzing the
converter performance.

The Life You Save May Be Your Own Point Of View
Essay #2
The life you save may be your own The story The Life You Save May Be Your Own is written by an
American writer and essayist called Flannery O Connor, who is an important figure for the American
literature. The origin of the author is from the southern part of America and most of the time she uses
the Southern Gothic style. Very often she relies on the grotesque characters, just like Mr. Shiftlet in
this story. The author describes the protagonist as a humorous character, despite his tries to look as a
smart guy, his southern accent and the things he says make no sense; qualities that turn him into the
humorous character he is.
Author s humor is the eye catching point of the story for the readers. The title alone The Life You Save
May Be Your Own indicates the author s purpose of using symbolism and her southern jocularity.
There is a sign in the story with the exact same phrase as the title of the story, which shows us that if

The Brazilian Audit Committee
An Introduction to the Audit Committee
An audit committee is a subcommittee of the board of directors that oversees the financial reporting
process of a company including its audit procedures. In general, the audit committee s responsibilities
are to monitor the financial reporting process, oversee the internal control systems and to oversee the
internal audit and independent public accounting function (Doupnik Perera, 2012). Another
requirement for publicly traded companies in the United States is that the committee must be made up
of independent directors, meaning that no committee member can work for the company, with one
committee member being a financial expert in accounting and auditing.

The BM F Bovespa
Brazil s main stock exchange is the BM F Bovespa. It is located in Sao Paulo and was founded on
August 23, 1890. The mission of the BM F Bovespa is stated as follows: Public confidence in the
soundness of the capital markets and in the professional who work in those markets is an essential
component for continued vitality and growth. (BM F Bovespa, 2014) In the year 2000, in order to
further this mission BM F Bovespa created stock listing levels with increasingly strict corporate
governance and disclosure requirements. The listing levels are as follows: regular Bovespa, Level 1,
Level 2 and Nova Mercado.
The Brazilian Audit Committee
Brazilian law requires public companies to have a board of directors, with at least three members.
Firms that list on regular Bovespa, Level 2 or Novo Mercado must have at least 5 member boards.
Brazil has no legal requirements for board independence, but only one third of board members may be
company officers. Traditionally in Brazil though, there has been either no or few independent directors
that make up a company s board. Brazilian law also gives minority shareholders the legal right to elect

Quantitative Stoichiometric Reactions Lab
The quantitative stoichiometric relationships dealing with mass and amount will be studied using the
combustion reaction of magnesium metal. While heated in the crucible, magnesium reacts with
oxygen from the air, and the masses before and after the oxidation are measured. The resulting masses
are used to calculate the experimental empirical formula of magnesium oxide. With the empirical
formula, we can then compare it to the theoretical empirical formula. Using a crucible and a Bunsen
burner, the magnesium metal will be heated to a burning.
Simple combustion experiments conducted with crucibles, burners, and balances provide a great deal
of chemical knowledge. This experiment illustrates the law of conservation of mass and the law of

From the masses of magnesium and oxygen that combine, we can calculate the empirical formula of
magnesium oxide. We will weigh the magnesium before it combines with the oxygen, and we will also
weigh the product of the reaction, magnesium oxide. The final weighing is necessary because we need
to subtract the original weight of magnesium from the weight of this product. When magnesium is
heated in open air, its reaction with oxygen is quick and intense. The metal catches fire, burning with
an vivid white flame with the production of white smoke. We can slow down the reaction by putting a
cover on the crucible. Doing so limits the supply of oxygen that reaches the magnesium. Magnesium
is such an active metal that it reacts with the relatively inactive element nitrogen: magnesium +
nitrogen magnesium nitride. This occurs alongside the reaction of magnesium with oxygen, so it is
called a side reaction. Fortunately it is possible to undo the reaction in this way: magnesium nitride +
water magnesium hydroxide + ammonia or magnesium hydroxide magnesium oxide + water vapor. To
get those last two reactions to occur, we add water to the crucible contents at the end of the first
heating period. We then heat again to speed up the reactions to evaporate any excess

Effects Of Rms On Our Daily Weekly Calls
As RMS has indicated before, based on our observations and more importantly on the review of assets
during our weekly calls with Altisource, RMS believes on many of these assets, the condition or
location of the property is a primary driver behind not only the large reduction in list price, but
ultimately a sales price that will be well below the initial list price, all of which contribute to extended
days on market and an increase in carrying costs incurred by the Trust. We believe a contributor to this
relates to the Altisource process where the listing agent is not always local to the property and may not
have not personally visited the asset to assess the condition and the location, has not driven by the
comps and generally may not be familiar with the intricacies of different neighborhoods in the area.
Lastly, while RMS believes it is important when listing REOs to list above the identified asset value, it
is equally important to recognize when a list price is too high and to make appropriate and timely
adjustments to avoid additional days on market and days in REO. Doing modest reductions, which is
an Altisource philosophy, when indicators (e.g., low offers, lack of offers, no showings) reflect a larger
adjustment is needed increases REO timelines and carrying costs. List price continues to be a frequent
topic during our weekly target assets and RMS raises these issues on an asset level basis, reviewing
activity, property condition, feedback and offers (or lack

Iranian Nuclear War Pros And Cons
November 4, 1979: a date to live forever. In Tehran, the capital of Iran, a demonstration turned hostile
when a group of students storm over the walls of the U.S. Embassy and take 90 people, hostage,
including 66 Americans. This was the beginning of the Iranian revolution, creating an Islamic
Republic under the Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini.
Now, the Obama Administration plans to give these same people (under that same family) nuclear
power to possibly make weapons. The Iran US nuclear deal should be stopped, for it will only cause
the destruction of the state of Israel, and possibly America with a deal within the hands of an anti

Iran s continued illicit nuclear activities (U.S. State Department) These economic sanctions were

sanctions that were in place to protect us.
Again, others say that Iran has agreed to stop enriching as much uranium to possibly create nuclear
weapons of mass destruction. In contrast, Iran will have a thirty day notice before any inspection of
their equipment or facilities. Thirty days is ample time to hide any illegal enriching and stockpiles of
uranium for nuclear weapons.

years, Israel is a key ally in the Middle East, and one that we say we will support. If we hand over

Israel.
In conclusion, Iran with its dictator and people will build a nuclear weapon, and they will use the
weapon against Israel and the U.S. resulting in a world war. So many people will die in nuclear strikes
from many countries. That is the number one thing that no one wants. Loss of human life. This deal

Growth Of The Asset Management Industry
In the present epoch s market driven yet economically fragile world corporations and companies of all
extents and hues have multifaceted stakes to take care of while focusing on their core objectives.
Billions are spent by them every year to acquire, sustain, maintain, operate and later decommission
assets not only physical but also non physical assets. So asset management remains at the core of the
mission of many corporations whose top management keeps its focus on the acquisition of profitable
assets and for the optimally safe yet promising use of investments. The asset management industry has
seen a boom also due to the increasingly unpredictable economic conditions of the world so in order to
remain ahead of, or at least at par with their competitors, all businesses or corporations need to ensure
maximum possible returns on their assets. It is projected that by 2020 the asset management industry
would have $100 trillion global investable funds and would register an annual growth rate of as high
as 6% (PwC, 2014). This positive projection of growth of the asset management industry is due also to
the inroads of technology in the domain of asset management industry as to many other new factors or
game changers such as transformation of fee models, growing preeminence of asset management
functions, changing shares of the regional and global asset management firms, and an ever growing
demand for cost effective services. Ever since technology started spreading its tentacles

Diabetes Mellitus is diagnosed using the American diabetes Association ADA criteria(37) (38). The
established glucose criteria for the diagnosis of diabetes that include the FPG ( 126 mg/dl) and two
hour plasma glucose 200mg/dl during an OGTT is still valid. Additionally, patients with classic

America s Role in the World Trade Organization Debate Over China
The open question on Chinese accession, both in the WTO and in China itself, is whether China is
more likely to adopt and sustain economic reforms if it is granted early membership or if membership
is delayed until policy reforms are undertaken. (Schott 40, 1996)
I. Introduction
This observation from Jeffery Schott of the Institute for International Economics captures the essence

(To see full text of his The Wealth of Nations, click here.) His stance on this issue, were he alive today,
can be expressed through a simple syllogism. Adam Smith supports open trade and opposes
mercantilism as a state s national economic policy. (More about Adam Smith) China acceding to the
WTO would force it to open its market and diminish if not eliminate most of its protective policies.
Therefore, Adam Smith would encourage the United States to push for China s accession to the WTO.
The United States has much to gain from an easily accessible, transparent Chinese economy of 1.2
billion consumers. America, though, is determined to obtain certain market opening concessions and
promises from China before its formal accession, and is equally determined to define China s status as
a developed nation rather than developing going into the WTO. A nation s status upon admittance,
developed or developing, carries very significant implications for the applicant. The status of China
will determine the timetable for its obligations and liberalizations. This, too, will be touched on in
greater detail again, but the basic argument is as follows: China wants to accede as a developing
country, as this would give China much more time in adjusting to the WTO demands and in
dismantling its protective barriers. The United States, however, because it wants quicker access to
China s markets and faster reforms on China s part, is pushing

research is resurfacing once again posing the question, Do violent video games influence or cause
extreme aggressive behavior and cognition? The research suggests that while violent video games may
stimulate internal arousal, there is no evidence to support the theory that violent video games actually
cause or provoke adolescents to commit violent crimes. Around 90% of children in the United States
play video games. 80 % of video game sales are violent games. Juvenile crime and arrest rates have
declined 48% since 1996 indicating that violent video games do not prompt adolescents to commit
violent crimes.
Video games are considered among the top forms of entertainment for youth in America. An estimated
90% of adolescents play video games, spending approximately 2 hours per day, sometimes more
digitally interacting with the world around them (Prot, McDonald, Anderson, Gentile, 2012). The top
selling video game titles are ones with concentrated violence and many times first person shooters
such as the Call of Duty series. Because of their growing popularity, and the violent crimes that have
been directly associated with them, video games have become a particular

The Murder Case Of Stanford White
In the early 1900s, the murder case of Stanford White would shock the world and would soon be
named the crime of the Century. Stanford White was an up and coming architect during the late 1800
s, he was especially gaining fame in New York City after forming the Mckee, Mead and White
company with other architects. One of his many accomplishments was the building of the Madison
Square Garden Tower in 1890. Meanwhile in Philadelphia, 14 year old Florence (a.k.a. Evelyn) Nesbit
was gaining fame as a model after beginning discovered by a local artist. This led her to gain
connections to huge modeling companies, all wanting her to pose for them. After collecting some
money Florence, her mother and her brother Howard, to New York City in ... Show more content on

In 1902, Evelyn was introduced to illustrator John Barrymore. They had a blossoming romance that
was soon shut down by White and Mrs. Nesbit. Barrymore had even proposed to Evelyn but she
rejected him due to his low salary. After her small relationship with John Barrymore, she met the rich
railroad man known as Harry Thaw. Thaw and White were already rivals so as a way to get back at
White he began to pursuing Evelyn by showering her with gifts and money. He proposed to Evelyn
multiple times but was rejected because she had been warned by Stanford, of Thaw s mental
conditions and of his drug abuse. Another factor causing her to neglect his proposals was she wouldn t
marry him without confessing her past affair. After Evelyn recovered from a surgery that some
believed as an abortion surgery in 1902, Harry invited Mrs. Nesbit and Evelyn on a trip across Europe.
Halfway through the trip, Mrs. Nesbit returns back to the U.S., leaving Harry and Evelyn alone in
Europe. Harry once again continues to propose to Evelyn but becomes an frusturated as he is rejected
once again. When she finally confesses her past sexual affair with White, he blames Mrs. Nesbit for
not taking good care of her daughter. While they stayed at a castle in Austria, Harry would physically
abuse Evelyn and then apologize right after. When rumors spread that Evelyn and Harry got married
in Europe, Thaw s family was furious at the news and called Harry to return

Essay on Jamba Juice Case Study
External Analysis
The General Environment of the Industry
Jamba Juice and its immediate competitors operate under the industry entitled snack and nonalcoholic
beverage bars [ (U.S. Census Bureau) ]. According to the U.S. Census Bureau the official description
of the snack and nonalcoholic beverage bars is as follows: This U.S. industry comprises
establishments primarily engaged in (1) preparing and/or serving a specialty snack, such as ice cream,
frozen yogurt, cookies, or popcorn or (2) serving nonalcoholic beverages, such as coffee, juices, or
sodas for consumption on or near the premises. These establishments may carry and sell a
combination of snack, nonalcoholic beverage, and other related products (e.g., coffee beans, ... Show

In analyzing the bargaining power of buyers, it is important to look at both categories under a separate
scope.
End users are those individuals walking in the company stores, ordering a smoothie and a cookie,
paying the cashier and then telling her friend how wonderful the ambiance is. This buyer segment
does not purchase large amounts of product at one time and likely chooses Jamba because of the
quality of the ingredients. With no switching costs and a growing industry offering many options,
patrons of smoothie cafés can freely purchase their delightful cool beverage anywhere. According to
the U.S. Census Bureau the number of stores within the snack and nonalcoholic beverage bars
industry grew from 36,036 in 2002 to 49,463 in 2007 [ (U.S. Census Bureau) ]. This trend means that
Jamba Juice will have to increase customer loyalty to battle the increased competition. The second
type of buyer is the franchisee, which pays Jamba Juice for the right to use its trademarks and
proprietary business information (recipes, processes, menus, and other resources). As noted in the
case, Jamba engaged in a growth strategy in 2007 that involved acquisition of a majority of the
franchised locations. This approach reduced the franchisee s buying power and allowed Jamba to have
the upper hand. With the downturn of the economy forthcoming, franchise demands would likely
deteriorate. In spite of the growth opportunities offered by franchises, Jamba maintained

  • 4. Cover Art In Dracula In summarizing the works of Sigmund Freud, Robert Michaels concluded, Everything in the world is about sex except sex. Sex is about power (Seeling 118). Bram Stoker s 1897 gothic horror novel Dracula is no exception to this primordial certainty. With disregard to the negative attitudes exhibited toward human sexuality throughout the Victorian era, the pages of Dracula are implicitly saturated with erotic symbolism, imagery, and allegory. Consequently, for more than a century, many of the various illustrations used as cover art for the novel have echoed the book s exploration of the forbidden fruit, the titillating, and taboo. It relays that men enjoy the sensual nature of women, yet the topic should be suppressed. The only distinguishable facial characteristic on the male s face, the eye, is also very important. The SCSE s effectiveness in recruitment and retention, the success of mentoring, and achievements of students as a result of mentoring will be discussed. Introduction A goal of President Barack Obama s Educate to Innovate initiative in 2008 was to increase the contributions of underrepresented minority (URM) students in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) (White House, 2009). Notably, in the context of the United States, the fastest growing and youngest URMs are Hispanics. Demographic projections suggest that Hispanics will comprise 30 percent of the U.S. population by 2040 and the majority demographic group in several states (United States Census, 2008). Thus, the need to encourage and support innovation and competitiveness in STEM participation is important, especially for Hispanic students, who are significantly underrepresented. In 2009, Hispanics represented 16 percent of the U. S. population and 26 percent of all undergraduate enrollments, but they earned just 11.9 percent of STEM bachelor s degrees in that year (National Science Foundation (NSF), 2010). In terms of STEM disciplines, Hispanics received 3.4 percent of all bachelor s degrees awarded in the life sciences, 0.7 percent in the physical sciences, 0.5 percent in mathematics, 2.6 percent in the computer science field and 4.7 percent in engineering (Chen, Ho Soldner, 2013). Human Interaction with Nature in the Works of Aldo Leopold and Elizabeth Bishop The poet Elizabeth Bishop and the naturalist Aldo Leopold share a keen power of observation, a beautifully detailed manner of writing, a love for the beauty of nature, and an interest in how people interact with the natural world. Like Leopold, Bishop examines human interactions with nature on both the personal and the ecological level. For both narrators, this lack of emotional connection changes when they notice some striking detail about the wolf or fish which awakens them to the symbolic value of the animal and transforms their way of relating to nature. Leopold sees a fierce green fire dying (130) in the eyes of the wolf and senses that his neat equation of fewer wolves equals more deer is inadequate, and that wolves have an importance unknown to him. He goes on to develop a new conservation ethic, one that values wolves as well as deer and protects wild animals for their own sake and that of the ecosystem, not just for the pleasure of hunters. Bishop s speaker notices five fishhooks dangling from the fish s mouth and realizes how many times the fish has battled for its life and won. Its fighting spirit earns her respect and causes her to release the fish. The particular symbolic value that each writer finds in the wild animal is evident in his or her beautifully poetic descriptions of the animal. Each admires the animal for its undaunted courage in the face of a harsh existence. However, no matter how well a communication process works the people involved will always have barriers that can block the communication process. Because each person has his or her own backgrounds and beliefs that will cause barriers to be overcome (Wallace Roberson, 2009). • 21. Reflecting Upon Practice Experiences And Relate From The... J04578 NM5200: Reflecting upon practice experiences in relation to competence of administration of medicines. This assignment aims to reflect upon practice experiences and relate them to one of the six core fundamental values. For the purpose of this assignment, the core fundamental value chosen shall be Competence. In relation to the adult field of nursing, this is one of the most important values when caring for a patient effectively (Scott Tilley, 2008.). In order to do this, Driscoll s model of reflection (Driscoll, 2011) shall be used to assess the use of this competency within practice. This model was chosen because of its best fit to Ghaye Lillyman (2010) explained reflection to be a development of our practice through trial and error. For the purpose of this assignment, patients will be referred to by he or she to ensure confidentiality (NMC, 2014.) The Six C s, known as the core fundamental values, were developed from the strategy known as Compassion in Practice, developed in line with Cummings and Bennett (DOH, 2012.) The Six C s include care, competence, courage, commitment, compassion and care. These are the main focus area for nursing practice and are vital to giving patients best care. As explained by the Department of Health (2012), competence is understanding the needs of service users by using expertise, clinical and technical knowledge in order to provide them with the best quality of care. This conversation inspired me to leave Study Hall; to check out Futures Lab so I d started searching Special Needs Colleges which gave me a surplus of colleges to look from such as Landmark, Mitchell and Beacon Colleges. The first website that intrigued me was Mitchell College; which was first on my top choices of schools as it provided train transportation and my major, which is Television Communications. One of two things that I did was, doing a virtual tour of campus as that s when my excitement was out of control since Mitchell was the college that was a perfect fit at that certain time. • 23. Types Of Evidence For Instructional Purposes Essay 1. Once you have identified supporting claims, the grounds of an argument, then you need to be able to evaluate the evidence that will be used to prove these claims. Evidence is the most important part of any inductive argument. But it is important to recognize that not all evidence is reliable. Some types of evidence can t be trusted at all. And even when good evidence is used, it might not be appropriate for certain types of claims. Thus, evidence has to be both reliable and logically appropriate, in a word valid, in order to prove a claim true or false. 2. To oversimplify for instructional purposes, I want to explore nine major types of evidence that are most commonly used in arguments, starting with the weakest form of evidence and moving forward toward the strongest form. I will briefly explain each type of evidence, focusing on how reliable it tends to be (strong to weak) and how it could be appropriately used. Handout: Types of Evidence Sources 3. The first type of evidence is personal experience, sometimes called testimony or an eye witness account. This evidence is based on what an individual experiences directly or indirectly. Psychologically, we naturally consider this type of evidence to be the strongest because it is the most immediate and intimately tied to our local world, which we know the best. However, from a sociological perspective, personal experience is actually the weakest type of evidence. 4. Even when our eyes see clearly ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 25. Dwight D. Eisenhower s Speech Dwight D. Eisenhower was one of Americas most influential presidents. He ended his successful public career with a farewell speech outlining the growth of the nation and warnings about the future. Firstly, I will examine the effectiveness of Eisenhower s speech. I found his speech to be well written, it held my attention and gave a clear message to protect the future of the nation and its resources. I define a well written speech as one that can keep an audience listening and wanting more. An effective speech must also have a clear message, and not contradict itself. Eisenhower s speech concluded his second term as President on a good note, and it gave the nation critical information on national defense, innovation, and the future for our people. Eisenhower s speech gave a clear message of national pride while also giving advice on our scientific and military future. Now I will discuss the location and historical significance of the speeches. Eisenhower televised his speech live from the White House. This use of technology allowed him to reach a wide audience, some of which who would not have been able to attend his speech. The historical significance of his speech was the long successful presidency that he was handing over to the much younger John F. Kennedy. Now I will examine the structure of Eisenhower s speech. During the passage, Smith desperately tries to escape his punishment. Through the use of rhetorical devices such as repetition, imagery, and details, the tone of urgency is revealed In the excerpt, Orwell uses the rhetorical device of repetition in order to create suspense. For example, right before the rats are going to attack, Winston says, Do it to Julia! Do it to Julia! Not me! Julia! I don t care what you do to her. Tear her face off, strip her to the bones. Not me! Julia! Not me! The repetitive screams for help from Winston reveals the tone as he is frantically begging for mercy. Another example of repetition is used is when Orwell writes, To think, to think, even with a split second left to think was the only hope This reveals the tone as it reveals Winston only has a split second to save himself from the rats, and he must be able to think fast in order to do it. ... It s important to know what happened and remember the outcomes in our hearts, then put it to rest. Why keep it alive and let the wounds keep on burning? Showing, and talking about it, keeps it alive and as such, is an inspiration for the weak minds. We saw and heard the mimicking of those saddening episodes multiplying, instead than diminishing, not to mention the special interest that lies behind the feeding of the pain, orchestrated for the money that such recurrence can generate. What can be targeted as a negative impact shouldn t be kept alive, but replaced with a positive, for a positive inspiration as a simple and healthy equation. They say we have to remember the negative that was done. I say: I rather forget it, remembering a happy positive one, makes me feel better. What we are projecting with our minds, is what we get, the option selected and what derives out of it, is rightfully ours. We are wasting so much time, we are falling short in the progress of formulating a better world. The reasons for such a delay, is due to the politicians trapped in their contorted games played under the financial kingdom rules and the shortsightedness of their thousand dollar suit soldiers ruled by their unconscious fears. The Life You Save May Be Your Own Point Of View Essay #2 The life you save may be your own The story The Life You Save May Be Your Own is written by an American writer and essayist called Flannery O Connor, who is an important figure for the American literature. The origin of the author is from the southern part of America and most of the time she uses the Southern Gothic style. Very often she relies on the grotesque characters, just like Mr. Shiftlet in this story. The author describes the protagonist as a humorous character, despite his tries to look as a smart guy, his southern accent and the things he says make no sense; qualities that turn him into the humorous character he is. While heated in the crucible, magnesium reacts with oxygen from the air, and the masses before and after the oxidation are measured. The resulting masses are used to calculate the experimental empirical formula of magnesium oxide. With the empirical formula, we can then compare it to the theoretical empirical formula. Using a crucible and a Bunsen burner, the magnesium metal will be heated to a burning. Simple combustion experiments conducted with crucibles, burners, and balances provide a great deal of chemical knowledge. This experiment illustrates the law of conservation of mass and the law of constant ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... From the masses of magnesium and oxygen that combine, we can calculate the empirical formula of magnesium oxide. We will weigh the magnesium before it combines with the oxygen, and we will also weigh the product of the reaction, magnesium oxide. The final weighing is necessary because we need to subtract the original weight of magnesium from the weight of this product. When magnesium is heated in open air, its reaction with oxygen is quick and intense. The metal catches fire, burning with an vivid white flame with the production of white smoke. We can slow down the reaction by putting a cover on the crucible. Doing so limits the supply of oxygen that reaches the magnesium. Magnesium is such an active metal that it reacts with the relatively inactive element nitrogen: magnesium + nitrogen magnesium nitride. This occurs alongside the reaction of magnesium with oxygen, so it is called a side reaction. Fortunately it is possible to undo the reaction in this way: magnesium nitride + water magnesium hydroxide + ammonia or magnesium hydroxide magnesium oxide + water vapor. To get those last two reactions to occur, we add water to the crucible contents at the end of the first heating period. We then heat again to speed up the reactions to evaporate any excess ... • 33. Effects Of Rms On Our Daily Weekly Calls As RMS has indicated before, based on our observations and more importantly on the review of assets during our weekly calls with Altisource, RMS believes on many of these assets, the condition or location of the property is a primary driver behind not only the large reduction in list price, but ultimately a sales price that will be well below the initial list price, all of which contribute to extended days on market and an increase in carrying costs incurred by the Trust. We believe a contributor to this relates to the Altisource process where the listing agent is not always local to the property and may not have not personally visited the asset to assess the condition and the location, has not driven by the comps and generally may not be familiar with the intricacies of different neighborhoods in the area. Lastly, while RMS believes it is important when listing REOs to list above the identified asset value, it is equally important to recognize when a list price is too high and to make appropriate and timely adjustments to avoid additional days on market and days in REO. Doing modest reductions, which is an Altisource philosophy, when indicators (e.g., low offers, lack of offers, no showings) reflect a larger adjustment is needed increases REO timelines and carrying costs. List price continues to be a frequent topic during our weekly target assets and RMS raises these issues on an asset level basis, reviewing activity, property condition, feedback and offers (or lack ... (More about Adam Smith) China acceding to the WTO would force it to open its market and diminish if not eliminate most of its protective policies. Therefore, Adam Smith would encourage the United States to push for China s accession to the WTO. The United States has much to gain from an easily accessible, transparent Chinese economy of 1.2 billion consumers. America, though, is determined to obtain certain market opening concessions and promises from China before its formal accession, and is equally determined to define China s status as a developed nation rather than developing going into the WTO. A nation s status upon admittance, developed or developing, carries very significant implications for the applicant. The status of China will determine the timetable for its obligations and liberalizations. This, too, will be touched on in greater detail again, but the basic argument is as follows: China wants to accede as a developing country, as this would give China much more time in adjusting to the WTO demands and in dismantling its protective barriers.
