Essay on The Life of Sir Isaac Newton
Over the centuries, math has evolved in an astounding way. Since the beginning of time, there have
been many mathematicians that has influenced and contributed to the math we know today. None
compares to the work of Sir Isaac Newton. He was influential as a person, as well as in his work.
Sir Isaac Newton was born on December 25, 1642 in Wools Thorpe, Lincolnshire. Shortly after his
father s death, Newton was born premature and was not expected to survive. After his father s death,
his mother got remarried to an ignorant man. His stepfather didn t seem to like him, so he was then
sent away to live with his grandmother. At the age of eleven, his stepfather died. After the death, he
decided to move back home with his mother.

In 1667, Newton returning to Cambridge and quickly completed all his requirements for a master s
degree. His greatest discoveries and innovations came about during his years at Cambridge.
Newton was the one to formulate the theory of universal gravity. It is claimed that, when he watched
an apple fall from a tree he wondered if the force that caused that the apple to fall was also the force
that kept the moon in its orbit. According to the text in Newton (1642), his theory that is described in
Newton s law is that gravitational force depends on the mass of each object. His doubt wasn t about
the fact that gravity existed, but whether it was what was keeping the moon in its orbit. He figured
that, if the force was to be decreased he would be able to calculate the Moon s orbital period. He
figured that this was the same force responsible for other motions in the orbit and with his hypothesis;
he decided to call this theory universal gravitation. With many trials and errors he could not get his
calculations to match his theories; he finally figured out his error, he had been using the wrong
formula to figure out the diameter of the Earth.
According to Harper (2006), Newton s distinction between absolute and relative motion is based on
his laws of motion, which he described as accepted by mathematicians and confirmed by experiments
of many kinds . His distinctions between absolute and relative

Speech On Ageing Skin
Ageing skin is a big concern for women all over the world and they are always looking for ways to
reverse the signs of ageing. Wrinkles on the facial skin, sagging necklines, double chins and loose skin
on the chest are every woman s nightmares. Not only does ageing make one look old, it also makes
one look more mature and the person feels unwanted. It stops you from living your life to the fullest.
We all want to remain forever young. Many people use various anti ageing creams and get frequent
facials to stop skin from ageing. Those who have the courage may even get cosmetic surgeries
performed on themselves through skin care professionals.
Although, plastic surgery is one of the most commonly used methods of skin tightening, many women

Patients can maximize their comfort by discussing with their medical practitioner. Cooling fans,
relaxation techniques and stress balls are some of the ways to decrease the discomfort and divert one s
attention during the procedure. Although once the results of the procedure become visible, patients
forget about all the pain and uneasiness. The time required for conducting this procedure is just 60 90
minutes, but most importantly, it depends upon the areas you plan to get treated. The neck and face
can be treated in a sitting of 60 90 minutes while your chest can be done in as less as 30 minutes. The
results of Ultherapy usually last till about a year but since skin ageing is a continuous process, one
may get a touch up if the need be.
Mostly, women in their thirties start to show their first signs of ageing. Many women may not have
started to show the signs of ageing but they just start their fight against ageing skin at an early age so
that they can look younger for a longer period of time. The skin of the patient undergoing Ultherapy
must have some laxity. These patients usually show mild to moderate laxity with a sagging neck, loose
skin on eyebrows, chin and

Denmark Vesey Essay
Denmark Vesey was an African American leader of an attempted slave insurrection in 1822. After
many years as a slave, he won $1,500 in a lottery. Vesey used this money to purchase his freedom. He
used his intelligence, energy, and luck to acquire considerable wealth and influence in South Carolina.
All of these factors helped lead to the largest attempted slave revolt in American history. David
Robertson s book Denmark Vesey outlines his life as a slave, to his freedom, to his execution, and the
consequences of the aftermath.
South Carolina was one of the only states in which the black slaves and abolitionists outnumbered
their oppressors. Denmark Vesey s slave revolt consisted ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Whether or not there is very much more information about Denmark Vesey to refer to is debatable.
Denmark Vesey was detailed in certain areas such as antebellum conditions and other generally known
events of the time. It had a considerable lack of detail in the area of the actual plans of revolt, those
involved, and other issues.
Vesey took advantage of his situation after being freed from slavery, and educated himself. His
intelligence and passion for abolishing slavery were the two key elements to his plans for revolt. The
years 1820 1822 was the time period between Vesey s freedom and death. In these two years, Vesey
called assemblies for the slaves and abolitionists, covering the meetings with church gatherings. Here,
he used religious and moral ideals to preach to those opposed to slavery. Denmark Vesey had a strong
sense of idealism, and an aggressive spirit, which he used to persuade people into the rebellion. He
preached a doctrine of a consciousness of and pride in the cultural and physical aspects of the African
heritage. With this, he was able to attract large numbers of blacks and abolitionists to partake in an
enthusiastic undertaking that was difficult and extremely risky.
Denmark Vesey and his recruits had cruel intentions for the city of Charleston. In their church
meetings, they planned to assassinate the governor and other highly elected

His Coy Mistress Tone
Everyone need to save their time and enjoy their life when they are young. Both To His Coy Mistress
by Andrew Marvell and To the Virgins, To Make much of time by Robert Herrick both examines the
idea of carpe diem. However, the way that the two speakers elaborate their point is slightly different.
The speaker in the poem To His coy Mistress use more passive tone to let people have more thinkings
of life.
To His Coy Mistress by Marvell states the idea that if people want to fall in love with others, do not be
shy or they will regretted in the future. Reading between the lines, the speaker first expressed how
much he love his girlfriend. Time s wingèd chariot hurrying near (Marvell 22) then the speaker use

form a parallelism with exaggeration to explain how much he adores his girlfriend. The speaker use
those huge words in the parallelism and contradiction to create how good the time while he was falling

the speaker make his love as the vegetable My vegetable love should grow (Marvell 11) in the Deserts

Crime And Hate Crimes
Hate crimes are criminal infractions in which the victim is targeted due to his or her actual or
perceived demographic status, that is, their race, ethnicity, religion, disability, sexual orientation, or
national origin. Unlike many other violent crimes, hate crimes have an effect on both the immediate
target and the communities of which the individuals are a member. As such, research (Herek, Gillis,
Cogan, 1999; McDevitt, Balboni, Garcia, Gu, 2001) has shown that victims of violent hate crimes
may suffer from more psychological distress, that is, depression, stress, anger, anxiety, among other
psychological related concerns more than victims of other violent crimes. The purpose of this paper is
to explore a subtopic of forensic psychology that is not commonly discussed, that is, bias crimes or
hate crimes. In order to explore this topic, an examination of several aspects related to it will ensue,
including a detailed review of the effects hate crimes have on victims, the effects hate crimes have on
communities, people who are risk of being victims, the perpetrators of hate crimes (whether they are
individuals or part of hate groups), an overall inquiry of hate motivated offending as well as the
different types, and lastly, addressing hate crimes and potential solutions. For this reason, the main
question of focus for this paper, then, is why otherwise non violent people commit violent offenses
towards certain groups (i.e. minority groups) as well as the effects that follow for the victims.
Motivation and Typology
With regard to hate motivated offenses, research on offender motivation remains sparse, partially due
to the relative infrequency with which these crimes are reported, and to a lesser degree, an offended is
identified, however, it is important to explore whether these offenses differ from other similar crimes.
Based on interviews with police officials, victims, and several hate crime offenders, Levin and
McDevitt (1993) developed a typology that identified three primary motivations and of which were
later adopted by law enforcement: offenders who committed their crimes for the excitement or the
thrill, offenders who saw themselves as defending their turf, and finally a small group of offenders

Essay about Canadian-Aboriginals
Aboriginal Canadians have an excessive history of mistreatment and discrimination in Canada.
Europeans considered Canada s First Nations as savages, eventually residential schools were created
which in extreme cases were comparable to Prisoner of War camps. According to Evelyn Kallen,
Substandard housing breeding disease and death, closed schools due to lack of teachers, heat, and/or
running water are only two examples of continuing, dehumanizing life conditions on many reserves

improvement remains necessary. Allan Blakeney stated, An important starting point of course, is that

I believe this is a step in the right direction for Aboriginal rights. It is crucial to preserve Aboriginal
history to create a just nation for Canada. As well, it is equally important to retrieve information from
elders regarding their extensive traditions and beliefs and to preserve these traditional stories. The
Canadian government should allocate funding towards Aboriginal festivals, museums, and other
public events to educate all Canadians about Aboriginal culture and heritage, as well, this would show
respect for Aboriginal Canadians. Therefore, I believe funding allocated to the preservation of
Aboriginal history can improve the plight of Aboriginal Canadians. Second, Canada s First Nations
plight can be improved through self governance. According to Pocklington, For several years,
Canadian aboriginal leaders have been demanding the recognition of a right of Native self
determination and thereby, for the aboriginal collectivities that choose it a right of self government
(102). Aboriginal self governance is a controversial issue in Canada. Before researching the issue I
believed that self governance would deter national unity, after further investigation, I presently believe
that the claim for Aboriginal self governance is justifiable. Although, according to Blakeney, It will be

RICA Case Study Essay
Case Report
During dissection, carried out in the anatomy laboratory, we found an absent right internal carotid
artery (RICA) with an extremely rare branching pattern. The specimen consists of a brain from a male
cadaver with the absence of the right internal carotid artery.
On the medial end of the stem of the left lateral sulcus, the left internal carotid artery (LICA)
bifurcated into the left middle cerebral artery (LMCA) and a single trunk. The left posterior
communicating artery arises from the left internal carotid artery just before its division. The left
middle cerebral artery enters the left lateral sulcus of Sylvius and it distributes as normally does. The
left main single trunk (LMST) runs anteromedially towards the longitudinal cerebral fissure, above the
optic tract and optic chiasm. Just at the beginning of the longitudinal cerebral fissure the left main

Essay about The Road to the American Civil War
The majority of speculations regarding the causes of the American Civil War are in some relation to
slavery. While slavery was a factor in the disagreements that led to the Civil War, it was not the
solitary or primary cause. There were three other, larger causes that contributed more directly to the
beginning of the secession of the southern states and, eventually, the start of the war. Those three
causes included economic and social divergence amongst the North and South, state versus national
rights, and the Supreme Court s ruling in the Dred Scott case. Each of these causes involved slavery in
some way, but were not exclusively based upon slavery. The North and South were forming
completely different economies, and therefore ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The South had some urbanization, in cities such as Atlanta, Georgia and Columbia, South Carolina.
These cities served as transportation hubs, mainly for the transporting of goods, specifically cotton.
The South would transport cotton to the northern industries to produce finished goods from the cotton.
The transportation hubs and railroad systems existed more often in the North than in the South,
because there were more large cities. Due to the North and South existing with completely diverse
demographics, geographies, and economies they were unable to understand the needs of one another
in reference to the continuation of their thriving economies. With the North becoming more urbanized
and based on industry, its power was also growing. The bulk of politics, transportation, and industry
all existed in the North. The South began forming an opinion that new political decisions were being
made in the North s favor, and threatening the expansion of slavery, which threatened the expansion of
their economic growth. This began with the formation of Henry Clay s Missouri Compromise of 1820,
which let Missouri come into the Union as a slave state, and Maine would come in as a free state. This
established a clear separation, at the southern border of Missouri, between the slave and free states,

Online And On Campus Learning
We are all looking for things in our lives to be convenient. Technology today has made that more
possible than ever. We have almost everything we need right at our fingertips. I personally use online
banking so I rarely have to step foot into a bank. I love online shopping, I can order anything that I
want and have it delivered to my front door. I can even have my groceries shipped to me if I wanted
to. So it s no surprise that online learning has become so popular today. I utilize both, online and on
campus learning, as well as a combination of both. I have found that the convenience of having at
least part of my classes online, where I can access them anytime I want, from anywhere, without
mandating what time and how long I spend learning the material, fits perfectly into my busy schedule.
But is it as good as the face to face learning that one receives in a classroom setting with other
students engaging in conversations about a topic? Online learning allows for more flexibility for
students to attend classes at their convenience and accommodates those who find it hard to attend a
class on a campus. Online education is quickly becoming a popular option, though it takes a particular
type of well disciplined student to be successful in an online environment. Because online courses
have most, if not all, of their content delivered over the internet, the student, peer, and teacher
interactions are done primarily over some form of written correspondence. Your

Essay on Chronicle of a Death Foretold by Gabriel Garcia...

If a man cries out in a forest, and no one around him cares, does he make a sound? In his Chronicle of
a Death Foretold, Gabriel Garcia
Marquez raises that very question, the question of whether the desires of society can overshadow the
needs of an individual. In his

If a person is compelled by their human nature to judge this sentiment as wrong, then it would seem as
though Pedro and Pablo Vicario would never have said that they would have done it again a thousand
times over for the same reason (Marquez 55). This is part of Marquez point; with this, he demonstrates
that the values of society have overshadowed the intrinsic values of life. Moreover, with this he
demonstrates the value of an objective viewpoint. As in the example of the Vicario brothers, a
subjective mind is a mind blind to truth.
Thus, by telling this tale apathetically, he erases any possibility of his opinions influencing his
audience s; he relies on their intrinsic sense of morality, unclouded by subjectivity, to extract the
meaning of the satire.
Within his objective style lies an even more powerful tool, satire, which he uses to elicit the emotional
response of scorn; in this passage, the main satire is Marquez portrayal of God and religion.
For instance, when Pedro declares we killed him openly… but we re innocent (Marquez 55), the priest
s response is perhaps before God
(56). There is obviously a discrepancy. God, according to common belief, is the source of all good, but
this crime, as demonstrated above, is intrinsically evil. This is an example of society using the idea of
God to justify their actions. Marquez hidden comment here is that society has corrupted the idea of
God,

The Importance Of Animal Research On Animals
Animals do have the ability to make decisions due to the use of neurotransmitters like dopamine and
the development of prefrontal cortex.
This paper will discuss the different experiments that were conducted to determine whether or not
animals are capable of making simple decisions or more complex decisions. I will go through articles
that talk about the choices that animals make when faced with different controlled and not controlled
conditions. I will conclude my paper by restating the thesis and whether it was supported by the
evidence in the articles I chose as well as state the limitations that were found in the articles. I will
also talk about some future research that is needed in the field of animal research and decision
making.
Animals have been compared to humans for many years. Some theories say that we were created as
animals first and then evolved into what we are today. With our brains being very similar to those of
animals such as chimpanzees and bottlenose dolphins, it s hard to not support the evidence that has
been presented about animals and how they are able to do things like make logical decisions just like
us.
Bardgett and colleagues (2009) conducted a study to determine the individual contribution of different
dopamine receptors to effort based decision making in rats. Just like humans, different chemicals in
the brain can influence decision making. In this case, they looked at rats (Rattus norvegicus). There
were 9 adult rats who were grouped in 3

Outdoor Clothing clearly positions itself to consider what effects on the environment they will have in
the future. This is telling both the employees and stakeholders not only are they proving the best
product, they care about the future of the planet and to ensure it will still be here for our family and
friends. Columbia Sportswear does not mention or even elude caring about the environment in their
mission statement.
A company s social responsibility is now a focus not only by investors but to consumers as well.
Social responsibility is for organizations to behave ethically and show consideration regarding social,
cultural, economic and environmental issues. (What is Social Responsibility? Why is it Important,

The Moral Logic Of Survivor Guilt In The Seventh Man By...
In war, standing here rather than there can save your life but cost a buddy his. It s flukish luck, but you
feel responsible. (Sherman 153). In The Moral Logic of Survivor Guilt, Nancy Sherman uses this
quote to explain the basis of survivor guilt in war. In The Seventh Man by Haruki Murakami, the
narrator failed to save his closest friend from a wave. As Sherman said in her quote, people often feel
guilty when they survive a situation that others didn t. The narrator s situation in The Seventh Man is a
perfect example of this. Despite his failure to save K., the narrator should still forgive himself.
The Seventh Man was unsuccessful in saving his childhood friend, K. In spite of his lack of success,
he should not have to live with guilt about this for his entire life. In Sherman s editorial, she states
that, Subjective guilt, associated with this sense of responsibility, is thought to be irrational because
one feels guilty despite the fact that he knows he has done nothing wrong. (Sherman 154). The
Seventh Man did not do anything wrong, therefore, if he were to feel guilt, it would be subjective. The
failure to fulfil a task due to fear or another overpowering feeling is not the same as doing something
incorrectly. The Seventh Man says, What made me do this, I m sure, was fear, a fear so overpowering
it took my voice away and set my legs to running on their own. (Murakami 138). This statement
illustrates how he desperately wanted to do the right thing and run to his friend, but his feelings and
subconscious thoughts drove him to do the opposite. This is something a person cannot be blamed for.
Therefore, it would only be reasonable for the Seventh Man to forgive himself for what occurred.
It is simple to argue that the Seventh Man should not forgive himself for failing to save K. One may
assert that the narrator could have physically warned K. by giving him a slight shove or patting him on
the back. Although this is logical, if one were to literally put him or herself in the Seventh Man s
situation, he or she would recognize the overwhelming amount of thoughts running through his head
in the moment. In The Key to Disaster Survival? Friends and Neighbors, Shankar Vedantam reports
about a 2004

The accountant of the conquest, and the making of what is today Latin America is a debatable subject

In Frontier of Possessions, Tamar Herzog, a historian, professor of Latin American presents an

Tordecillas treaty, which gave the right to conquest and posses the New World, enough? This question
is very important, and Herzog explores it: the treaty of Tordecillas did not specify a geographical
division; European couldn t agree, and trust their science or modernization. This contradictory
approach is important in the narrative of Frontiers of Possessions; Herzog presents an opposed view to
narrative about the modernity of the Europeans conquerors. It is ironic to think about modernization,
conquest, and possessions of lands when European couldn t trust their own modernity, and yet used it
as a justifiable reason to posses. This comes to show that these groups of people were common people
that possibly did not understood or even care about modernity, but rather possession through different
means. As an illustration, Herzog points out that Spaniard and Portuguese did not bother about linear
or zonal classification of the land.

The Status And Perception Of Women
Literature Review Draft 2
For centuries, the status and perception of women has been a disputed and controversial subject. Due
to precarious political or social standings, even women in power were subject to the judgement and
power of men. When considering the portrayal of exceptional women throughout history, rarely has a
woman been able to fully embrace the stage without reservations. An analysis of research texts and
journal articles reveals and connects the way that a queen of ancient times and one of the English
Renaissance controlled their image, were affected by societal views of women, and were ultimately
depicted. Scholarship on Cleopatra and Queen Elizabeth I relays the idea that society and patriarchy
led to their respective authorities and depictions. Mary Hamer, author of Signs of Cleopatra, a
historical research text, investigates Cleopatra s cultural significance from her earliest representations
in her own time to her status as a symbol in modern times. In the chapter, Cleopatra: housewife, she
discusses Cleopatra s image between the fourteenth and seventeenth centuries, a time that spans the
invention of the printing press and the proliferance of Elizabethan playwright, William Shakespeare.
Hamer uses the work of Petrarch, Boccaccio, and Jan de Bray, which was spread rapidly due to the
printing press, as a lens to view Cleopatra s image. In regards to this image, she notes the changing
attitude towards women, a result of the Reformation creating an

Speech On Lactose Intolerance
Good morning Miss B and class. Lactose intolerance is often mistaken as an allergy, but it is rather an
intolerance of lactose.
An intolerance is a hypersensitivity to certain food or ingredient. It is not as serious as an allergy as it
does not involve and immune system response. It causes symptoms and their severity ranges as to how
much is ingested. These symptoms can be: Digestive problems, gas build up, cramps, bloating. People
with an intolerance of a substance can ingest small quantities of it.
An allergy is where the immune system reacts to a specific food and regards it as harmful or toxic.

It is done by doing the hydrogen breath test. It measures the amount of hydrogen exhaled after
drinking a lactose beverage. Lactose which is undigested is fermented in the colon and these bacteria
produce hydrogen which s exhaled. If you have higher levels of hydrogen exhaled after 90 minutes of
drinking the lactose drink, you are then classified as being lactose intolerant.
People must be aware of the risk factors if diagnosed with lactose intolerance, Consuming lactose
products will cause discomfort. Children that are lactose intolerant have a higher risk of getting rickets
and hampered tooth formation, and therefore need to be put on supplements in extreme cases. Adults
must be aware of getting osteoporosis.
Managing with lactose intolerance can be tricky to juggle. People are encouraged to find a level of
lactose that they can handle without having symptoms, through trial and error. When consuming
lactose, it is recommended to have it with a meal as it slows down the digestive process. Cheeses and
yoghurts contain less lactose than milk and could be a better way of introducing calcium to your diet.

Romantic Music Period
Did music ever reach a point to where all restraints seemed cast off and composers had the
opportunity to express musical freedom? Similar to the emotional and intense paintings done through
this time, the music during the Romantic Period also expressed heightened passion and paralleled the
trends in art. It lasted from circa 1825 1900. Looking at the musicians during this time, the purpose of
the music, and the things that characterized Romantic music, one will see how things changed from
the previous Classical period. Many of the great, famed musicians now known today lived during the
Romantic period. Some of the better known names included Rossini, Mendelssohn, Tchaikovsky,
Chopin, and Brahms. Gioachino Rossini, known for his piece, The Barber of Seville, excelled in
operas. His overtures grew to be extremely popular pieces as well and are still played to this day. Felix
Mendelssohn started his career early in life and grew famous off his own overtures as well.
Connecting with nature as many of the Romantic composers, he composed the Fingal s Cave Overture
which mirrors the waves and coasts of Scotland. Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky gained his fame as the most
well known Russian composer through his ballets, such as Swan Lake and the Nutcracker Suite.
Frédéric Chopin had many different famous pieces with Nocturne No. 9 and Scherzo for piano No. 2
in B flat minor gaining a place above the rest. His music left him as one of the most significant
Romantic composers. Finally yet

Huns Facts
The Huns are best known to be barbaric, or cruel, group that tore down villages and killed people that
got in their way of what they wanted. All people were afraid of the Huns because they were really

Huns came from or what language they spoke, but the Huns did not let anyone or anything get in their
way of what they wanted. The exact origin of the Huns is not exactly known, but history shows that
the Huns lived in Eastern Europe, the Caucasus, and Central Asia. They were present between the 1st

A Good Life Essay
Throughout this semester we have struggled to define the common good and what constitutes a good
life. While the definition of what is a good life can vary from person to person, whether that mean
academic achievement, financial success, or a certain social status; for me, a good life is a life driven
through goals and purpose. A life in which you set goals and strive to reach them despite the physical,
mental, or emotional obstacles that can get in your way. In Viktor Frankl s What is a Good Life?
Frankl states that, Everything can be taken from a man but one thing... the last of the human freedoms
to choose one s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one s own way. This statement
stands out to me because, I believe that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

as being surrounded by these individuals has led me to develop a passion for the victims of domestic
violence and has pushed me to be as involved as I can to help reach the goal of eliminating this issue
all together. I think this relates to several of the things we have read in class, for example, in The
Humanitarian Leader in Each of Us where Inderjit Khurana focused on the children in the train
stations, not the 20,000 children in Bhubaneswar who are not in school (LaFasto and Larson, 50). I
know that I alone cannot eliminate domestic violence, but I choose to focus on the women and
children of my county. Not only has this experience given meaning to my life, it has also brought me
happiness in that I am more thankful for the things that I have and the people that are in my life.
Which ultimately for me, defines a good life.
I also believe my service relates to the other part that I stated about how the good life is one where you
strive to achieve goals despite obstacles, and I think this relates very well to Brian Stevenson and his
work. Not only did he work in a similar way to Inderjit Khurana and Mama Liz of The Humanitarian

on the people, not the problem;

The Effect Of Social Media On Organization Branding
The Effect of Social Media on Organization Branding
Jianmo Zhang
University of Southern California
Media has been the main channel through which marketers convey their brand messages and promote
their products since 18th century. The traditional marketing model, which is the combination of
companies, advertising agencies, and media, has worked well ever since. However, with the rise of
Internet, the key role in branding played by conventional media, which comprises print media and
broadcast media, has been increasingly challenged (Palmer Koenig Lewis, 2009). Marketing budgets
has been greatly shifted to online channels (Jennings, 2007).
Notwithstanding it simplified the process of marketing to some extend, online channel is never easy to
manage. Instead, it includes multiple formats of communication aiming at variety of target customers,
such as banner ads appearing on web sites, personalized e mails sent by organization marketers and so
forth (Palmer Koenig Lewis, 2009). Consistent with this media revolution, in recent years, social
media, which further decrease the cost of communication for companies tremendously, has become a
major hit in marketing and media field (Palmer Koenig Lewis, 2009).
In existing research, Social media is defined as: online applications, platforms and media which aim to
facilitate interactions, collaborations and the sharing of content (Universal Maccann International,
2008, p. 10). It has become the representative of

Aristotle And The Universe Reflection Paper
Aristotle had a fundamental unity in his view of man and the universe that has never since been
achieved in the synthesis of comparable scope and originality . Some descriptions of the Aristotelian
include the universe being contained within the sphere of the stars. In addition to this there are no
holes or vacuums in the universe, considering that Aristotle deemed the universe to have a finite size.
Another factor of the theory is that the universe is filled with aether, which aggregates in a
homocentric set of shells that creates the hollow shell of the universe . Through these descriptions of
the universe, Aristotle tries to explain the diurnal double spherical circular pattern of the stars and the
rotation of the seven planets . In ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Even though the mathematicians who study the universe were unsure of the revolution period of the

comparison to Aristotle s model, Copernicus universal model incorporated thirteen more centuries of
complied data in order to better represent the universe. It is important to compare the Aristotelian
model to the Copernican model because it shows that the scientific field made adaptations to the way
that gravity and the centrifugal motion of planets function . From a historical aspect this is important
because it shows that regardless of whether or not these ideas were accepted they were still thought
up, meaning that the thought processes incorporated modern thought . By examining the spherical
interpretation of the universe, Copernicus had to increase its size in order to accommodate for his
adaptations of gravitational pull . Copernicus theory is that because gravitational pull exists,

A Heated Competitive Nature Of Basketball
I grew up with five brothers, naturally there was a heated competitive nature in my household over
anything and everything. Notably when the competition at hand was the sport of basketball. Growing
up basketball was more than a game, it was a way of life. My brothers and I analyzed every aspect of
basketball, we were students of the game. I recall the 2008 NCAA Men s Basketball Tournament,
there was this undersized point guard playing for Davidson College by the name of Stephen Curry.
This kid took the basketball world by storm, he became an overnight sensation. He led the Davidson
College Wildcats all the way to the National Quarterfinals, an oddity for Davidson s basketball
program. Despite losing to Kansas in the National Quarterfinals, he increased his draft stock from
possibly undrafted to a first round talent over the course of a few weeks. Additionally, in the 2009
NBA Draft Stephen Curry was selected 7th overall, and from that point on he has changed the game of
basketball like never before. Steph Curry or the Babyface Assassin changed the game by his
upbringing, style of play, and his portrayal. Stephen Curry was born on March 14, 1988. His father is
Dell Curry, a man who played for the Charlotte Hornets for all of his 16 years in the NBA. Regardless
of his father playing on the highest level, it was his mother Sonya who instituted the legendary work
ethic of Steph Curry. His mother was a division one volleyball star at Virginia Tech, so Soyna knew

Charlemagne s Disappearance
After the fall of Rome, havoc descended upon Europe as it fell into a dark age of chaos and

people were free from a governing rule, the long period of peace was over. The previous Roman
citizens were left with a new world that they had not experienced before one without a job to works in,
a job to feed their families. They no longer had anyone to pay taxes to. As a result, all of the other
benefits of the kingdom such as the aqueducts and the roads, were no longer being repaired. Daily life

To start, Charlemagne was respected by his people because he gave people what they needed: a better

likable, with the people enjoying a chance to have a better education as well as a better view point of a
life less barbaric. Next, Charlemagne tried to be more than a ruler and more a part of the community.
One of the reasons why Charlemagne is so famous is because he tried to educate himself. He was
described by Einhard as a great teacher, as he was capable in multiple languages, along with being
taught by some great teachers. Rather that being a great ruler by educating his people, he became an
even greater ruler by educating himself. By doing this, his people had even more faith in the fact that
he was going to rule properly, that every decision that he made was well thought out. Born into a
period where education was scarce if existent, this was an astonishing act. Lastly, Charlemagne was
respected by his people because of his work with public structures. This King, who showed himself so
great in extending his empire and subduing foreign nations, and was constantly occupied with plans to
that end, undertook also very many works calculated to adorn and benefit his kingdom... (Einhard).
Some of these additions included a half mile long bridge, and a basilica. Whenever Charlemagne
would see something is disrepair, he would consult priests to go get it fixed. To finish, Charlemagne,
was not only a great battle leader, but was also interested in improving his

Overview Between Phonetics And Phonology
At the very beginning, I want to sheds the light on the definition of both Phonetics and Phonology.
Phonetics is considered the study of sounds of any language, it relates to the mechanism of how
sounds are produced and the way of speech sounds production. Phonology studies how those sounds
are put together to create meaning. It studies the rules of language that govern how those phonemes
are combined to create meaningful words. Hereunder detailed features of each branch of linguistics
are explained.
On one hand, Phonetics is talking about the physical aspect of sounds; it studies the production and
the perception of sounds, called phones. Phonetics is the term for the description and classification of
speech sounds. Sounds within phonetics are divided into vowels and consonants. Vowels are
embodied in the letters (i e o a u). Whereas, consonants letters are embodied in the rest set of English
language alphabets. Vowels and consonants describe the articulation of English language. Whereas
there is another branch of phonetics called Acoustic phonetics that is related to the study of how the
sounds are transmitted, in other words the journey of sound from the mouth of the speaker tills the ear

and determine where each sound source is occurring, i.e., at the larynx or at a constriction within the
vocal tract. There is difference between phonemes and allophones. A phoneme, is the smallest
contrastive unit in the sound system of a certain language. A phoneme is the smallest part of an
utterance that cannot be changed if we want to retain the meaning. For

Relationship between Task 1 and Task 3
Task 1 and task 3 have more than a few points which are mutual in which both are reliant on each

  • 2. Essay on The Life of Sir Isaac Newton Over the centuries, math has evolved in an astounding way. Since the beginning of time, there have been many mathematicians that has influenced and contributed to the math we know today. None compares to the work of Sir Isaac Newton. He was influential as a person, as well as in his work. Sir Isaac Newton was born on December 25, 1642 in Wools Thorpe, Lincolnshire. Shortly after his father s death, Newton was born premature and was not expected to survive. After his father s death, his mother got remarried to an ignorant man. His stepfather didn t seem to like him, so he was then sent away to live with his grandmother. At the age of eleven, his stepfather died. After the death, he decided to move back home with his mother. At the age of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In 1667, Newton returning to Cambridge and quickly completed all his requirements for a master s degree. His greatest discoveries and innovations came about during his years at Cambridge. Newton was the one to formulate the theory of universal gravity. It is claimed that, when he watched an apple fall from a tree he wondered if the force that caused that the apple to fall was also the force that kept the moon in its orbit. According to the text in Newton (1642), his theory that is described in Newton s law is that gravitational force depends on the mass of each object. His doubt wasn t about the fact that gravity existed, but whether it was what was keeping the moon in its orbit. He figured that, if the force was to be decreased he would be able to calculate the Moon s orbital period. He figured that this was the same force responsible for other motions in the orbit and with his hypothesis; he decided to call this theory universal gravitation. With many trials and errors he could not get his calculations to match his theories; he finally figured out his error, he had been using the wrong formula to figure out the diameter of the Earth. According to Harper (2006), Newton s distinction between absolute and relative motion is based on his laws of motion, which he described as accepted by mathematicians and confirmed by experiments of many kinds . Not only does ageing make one look old, it also makes one look more mature and the person feels unwanted. It stops you from living your life to the fullest. We all want to remain forever young. Patients can maximize their comfort by discussing with their medical practitioner. Cooling fans, relaxation techniques and stress balls are some of the ways to decrease the discomfort and divert one s attention during the procedure. Although once the results of the procedure become visible, patients forget about all the pain and uneasiness. The time required for conducting this procedure is just 60 90 minutes, but most importantly, it depends upon the areas you plan to get treated. The neck and face can be treated in a sitting of 60 90 minutes while your chest can be done in as less as 30 minutes. The results of Ultherapy usually last till about a year but since skin ageing is a continuous process, one may get a touch up if the need be. Mostly, women in their thirties start to show their first signs of ageing. Many women may not have started to show the signs of ageing but they just start their fight against ageing skin at an early age so that they can look younger for a longer period of time. The skin of the patient undergoing Ultherapy must have some laxity. These patients usually show mild to moderate laxity with a sagging neck, loose skin on eyebrows, chin and ... • 4. Denmark Vesey Essay Denmark Vesey was an African American leader of an attempted slave insurrection in 1822. After many years as a slave, he won $1,500 in a lottery. Vesey used this money to purchase his freedom. He used his intelligence, energy, and luck to acquire considerable wealth and influence in South Carolina. All of these factors helped lead to the largest attempted slave revolt in American history. David Robertson s book Denmark Vesey outlines his life as a slave, to his freedom, to his execution, and the consequences of the aftermath. South Carolina was one of the only states in which the black slaves and abolitionists outnumbered their oppressors. Denmark Vesey s slave revolt consisted ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Whether or not there is very much more information about Denmark Vesey to refer to is debatable. Denmark Vesey was detailed in certain areas such as antebellum conditions and other generally known events of the time. It had a considerable lack of detail in the area of the actual plans of revolt, those involved, and other issues. Vesey took advantage of his situation after being freed from slavery, and educated himself. His intelligence and passion for abolishing slavery were the two key elements to his plans for revolt. The years 1820 1822 was the time period between Vesey s freedom and death. In these two years, Vesey called assemblies for the slaves and abolitionists, covering the meetings with church gatherings. Here, he used religious and moral ideals to preach to those opposed to slavery. Denmark Vesey had a strong sense of idealism, and an aggressive spirit, which he used to persuade people into the rebellion. He preached a doctrine of a consciousness of and pride in the cultural and physical aspects of the African heritage. With this, he was able to attract large numbers of blacks and abolitionists to partake in an enthusiastic undertaking that was difficult and extremely risky. Denmark Vesey and his recruits had cruel intentions for the city of Charleston. In their church meetings, they planned to assassinate the governor and other highly elected ... However, the way that the two speakers elaborate their point is slightly different. The speaker in the poem To His coy Mistress use more passive tone to let people have more thinkings of life. • 6. Crime And Hate Crimes Hate crimes are criminal infractions in which the victim is targeted due to his or her actual or perceived demographic status, that is, their race, ethnicity, religion, disability, sexual orientation, or national origin. Unlike many other violent crimes, hate crimes have an effect on both the immediate target and the communities of which the individuals are a member. As such, research (Herek, Gillis, Cogan, 1999; McDevitt, Balboni, Garcia, Gu, 2001) has shown that victims of violent hate crimes may suffer from more psychological distress, that is, depression, stress, anger, anxiety, among other psychological related concerns more than victims of other violent crimes. The purpose of this paper is to explore a subtopic of forensic psychology that is not commonly discussed, that is, bias crimes or hate crimes. In order to explore this topic, an examination of several aspects related to it will ensue, including a detailed review of the effects hate crimes have on victims, the effects hate crimes have on communities, people who are risk of being victims, the perpetrators of hate crimes (whether they are individuals or part of hate groups), an overall inquiry of hate motivated offending as well as the different types, and lastly, addressing hate crimes and potential solutions. For this reason, the main question of focus for this paper, then, is why otherwise non violent people commit violent offenses towards certain groups (i.e. minority groups) as well as the effects that follow for the victims. Motivation and Typology With regard to hate motivated offenses, research on offender motivation remains sparse, partially due to the relative infrequency with which these crimes are reported, and to a lesser degree, an offended is identified, however, it is important to explore whether these offenses differ from other similar crimes. Based on interviews with police officials, victims, and several hate crime offenders, Levin and McDevitt (1993) developed a typology that identified three primary motivations and of which were later adopted by law enforcement: offenders who committed their crimes for the excitement or the thrill, offenders who saw themselves as defending their turf, and finally a small group of offenders ... Europeans considered Canada s First Nations as savages, eventually residential schools were created which in extreme cases were comparable to Prisoner of War camps. According to Evelyn Kallen, Substandard housing breeding disease and death, closed schools due to lack of teachers, heat, and/or running water are only two examples of continuing, dehumanizing life conditions on many reserves (198). The Canadian government should allocate funding towards Aboriginal festivals, museums, and other public events to educate all Canadians about Aboriginal culture and heritage, as well, this would show respect for Aboriginal Canadians. Therefore, I believe funding allocated to the preservation of Aboriginal history can improve the plight of Aboriginal Canadians. Second, Canada s First Nations plight can be improved through self governance. According to Pocklington, For several years, Canadian aboriginal leaders have been demanding the recognition of a right of Native self determination and thereby, for the aboriginal collectivities that choose it a right of self government (102). While slavery was a factor in the disagreements that led to the Civil War, it was not the solitary or primary cause. There were three other, larger causes that contributed more directly to the beginning of the secession of the southern states and, eventually, the start of the war. Those three causes included economic and social divergence amongst the North and South, state versus national rights, and the Supreme Court s ruling in the Dred Scott case. Each of these causes involved slavery in some way, but were not exclusively based upon slavery. The North and South were forming completely different economies, and therefore ... These cities served as transportation hubs, mainly for the transporting of goods, specifically cotton. The transportation hubs and railroad systems existed more often in the North than in the South, because there were more large cities. Due to the North and South existing with completely diverse demographics, geographies, and economies they were unable to understand the needs of one another in reference to the continuation of their thriving economies. With the North becoming more urbanized and based on industry, its power was also growing. The bulk of politics, transportation, and industry all existed in the North. The South began forming an opinion that new political decisions were being made in the North s favor, and threatening the expansion of slavery, which threatened the expansion of their economic growth. We have almost everything we need right at our fingertips. I personally use online banking so I rarely have to step foot into a bank. So it s no surprise that online learning has become so popular today. I utilize both, online and on campus learning, as well as a combination of both. I have found that the convenience of having at least part of my classes online, where I can access them anytime I want, from anywhere, without mandating what time and how long I spend learning the material, fits perfectly into my busy schedule. But is it as good as the face to face learning that one receives in a classroom setting with other students engaging in conversations about a topic? Online learning allows for more flexibility for students to attend classes at their convenience and accommodates those who find it hard to attend a class on a campus. Online education is quickly becoming a popular option, though it takes a particular type of well disciplined student to be successful in an online environment. Because online courses have most, if not all, of their content delivered over the internet, the student, peer, and teacher interactions are done primarily over some form of written correspondence. If a person is compelled by their human nature to judge this sentiment as wrong, then it would seem as though Pedro and Pablo Vicario would never have said that they would have done it again a thousand times over for the same reason (Marquez 55). This is part of Marquez point; with this, he demonstrates that the values of society have overshadowed the intrinsic values of life. Moreover, with this he demonstrates the value of an objective viewpoint. As in the example of the Vicario brothers, a subjective mind is a mind blind to truth. Thus, by telling this tale apathetically, he erases any possibility of his opinions influencing his audience s; he relies on their intrinsic sense of morality, unclouded by subjectivity, to extract the meaning of the satire. Within his objective style lies an even more powerful tool, satire, which he uses to elicit the emotional response of scorn; in this passage, the main satire is Marquez portrayal of God and religion. For instance, when Pedro declares we killed him openly… but we re innocent (Marquez 55), the priest s response is perhaps before God (56). There is obviously a discrepancy. God, according to common belief, is the source of all good, but this crime, as demonstrated above, is intrinsically evil. This is an example of society using the idea of God to justify their actions. • 16. The Moral Logic Of Survivor Guilt In The Seventh Man By... In war, standing here rather than there can save your life but cost a buddy his. It s flukish luck, but you feel responsible. (Sherman 153). In The Moral Logic of Survivor Guilt, Nancy Sherman uses this quote to explain the basis of survivor guilt in war. In The Seventh Man by Haruki Murakami, the narrator failed to save his closest friend from a wave. As Sherman said in her quote, people often feel guilty when they survive a situation that others didn t. The narrator s situation in The Seventh Man is a perfect example of this. Despite his failure to save K., the narrator should still forgive himself. The Seventh Man was unsuccessful in saving his childhood friend, K. In spite of his lack of success, he should not have to live with guilt about this for his entire life. In Sherman s editorial, she states that, Subjective guilt, associated with this sense of responsibility, is thought to be irrational because one feels guilty despite the fact that he knows he has done nothing wrong. (Sherman 154). The Seventh Man did not do anything wrong, therefore, if he were to feel guilt, it would be subjective. The failure to fulfil a task due to fear or another overpowering feeling is not the same as doing something incorrectly. The Seventh Man says, What made me do this, I m sure, was fear, a fear so overpowering it took my voice away and set my legs to running on their own. (Murakami 138). This statement illustrates how he desperately wanted to do the right thing and run to his friend, but his feelings and subconscious thoughts drove him to do the opposite. This is something a person cannot be blamed for. Therefore, it would only be reasonable for the Seventh Man to forgive himself for what occurred. It is simple to argue that the Seventh Man should not forgive himself for failing to save K. One may assert that the narrator could have physically warned K. by giving him a slight shove or patting him on the back. Although this is logical, if one were to literally put him or herself in the Seventh Man s situation, he or she would recognize the overwhelming amount of thoughts running through his head in the moment. This contradictory approach is important in the narrative of Frontiers of Possessions; Herzog presents an opposed view to narrative about the modernity of the Europeans conquerors. It is ironic to think about modernization, conquest, and possessions of lands when European couldn t trust their own modernity, and yet used it as a justifiable reason to posses. • 32. The Effect Of Social Media On Organization Branding The Effect of Social Media on Organization Branding Jianmo Zhang University of Southern California Media has been the main channel through which marketers convey their brand messages and promote their products since 18th century. The traditional marketing model, which is the combination of companies, advertising agencies, and media, has worked well ever since. However, with the rise of Internet, the key role in branding played by conventional media, which comprises print media and broadcast media, has been increasingly challenged (Palmer Koenig Lewis, 2009). Marketing budgets has been greatly shifted to online channels (Jennings, 2007). Notwithstanding it simplified the process of marketing to some extend, online channel is never easy to manage. Instead, it includes multiple formats of communication aiming at variety of target customers, such as banner ads appearing on web sites, personalized e mails sent by organization marketers and so forth (Palmer Koenig Lewis, 2009). Consistent with this media revolution, in recent years, social media, which further decrease the cost of communication for companies tremendously, has become a major hit in marketing and media field (Palmer Koenig Lewis, 2009). • 33. Aristotle And The Universe Reflection Paper Aristotle had a fundamental unity in his view of man and the universe that has never since been achieved in the synthesis of comparable scope and originality . Some descriptions of the Aristotelian include the universe being contained within the sphere of the stars. In addition to this there are no holes or vacuums in the universe, considering that Aristotle deemed the universe to have a finite size. Another factor of the theory is that the universe is filled with aether, which aggregates in a homocentric set of shells that creates the hollow shell of the universe . Through these descriptions of the universe, Aristotle tries to explain the diurnal double spherical circular pattern of the stars and the rotation of the seven planets . In ... Even though the mathematicians who study the universe were unsure of the revolution period of the sun and moon, furthermore the inaccuracies regarding the length of seasons, Copernicus heliocentric model takes steps towards accuracies . A strong example of this attention for accuracy is that, in comparison to Aristotle s model, Copernicus universal model incorporated thirteen more centuries of complied data in order to better represent the universe. It is important to compare the Aristotelian model to the Copernican model because it shows that the scientific field made adaptations to the way that gravity and the centrifugal motion of planets function . From a historical aspect this is important because it shows that regardless of whether or not these ideas were accepted they were still thought up, meaning that the thought processes incorporated modern thought . By examining the spherical interpretation of the universe, Copernicus had to increase its size in order to accommodate for his adaptations of gravitational pull . • 34. A Heated Competitive Nature Of Basketball I grew up with five brothers, naturally there was a heated competitive nature in my household over anything and everything. Notably when the competition at hand was the sport of basketball. Growing up basketball was more than a game, it was a way of life. My brothers and I analyzed every aspect of basketball, we were students of the game. I recall the 2008 NCAA Men s Basketball Tournament, there was this undersized point guard playing for Davidson College by the name of Stephen Curry. This kid took the basketball world by storm, he became an overnight sensation. He led the Davidson College Wildcats all the way to the National Quarterfinals, an oddity for Davidson s basketball program. Despite losing to Kansas in the National Quarterfinals, he increased his draft stock from possibly undrafted to a first round talent over the course of a few weeks. Additionally, in the 2009 NBA Draft Stephen Curry was selected 7th overall, and from that point on he has changed the game of basketball like never before. Steph Curry or the Babyface Assassin changed the game by his upbringing, style of play, and his portrayal. Stephen Curry was born on March 14, 1988. His father is Dell Curry, a man who played for the Charlotte Hornets for all of his 16 years in the NBA. Regardless of his father playing on the highest level, it was his mother Sonya who instituted the legendary work ethic of Steph Curry. His mother was a division one volleyball star at Virginia Tech, so Soyna knew what it took ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Everything that the Romans had ever aspired to build was put into disfunction. As the people were free from a governing rule, the long period of peace was over. The previous Roman citizens were left with a new world that they had not experienced before one without a job to works in, a job to feed their families. They no longer had anyone to pay taxes to. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... To start, Charlemagne was respected by his people because he gave people what they needed: a better way to live life. He provided free education for all of the people in his kingdom, by creating new schools to educate his people to have a better life. As a result, Charlemagne became even more likable, with the people enjoying a chance to have a better education as well as a better view point of a life less barbaric. Next, Charlemagne tried to be more than a ruler and more a part of the community. One of the reasons why Charlemagne is so famous is because he tried to educate himself. He was described by Einhard as a great teacher, as he was capable in multiple languages, along with being taught by some great teachers. Rather that being a great ruler by educating his people, he became an even greater ruler by educating himself. By doing this, his people had even more faith in the fact that he was going to rule properly, that every decision that he made was well thought out. Born into a period where education was scarce if existent, this was an astonishing act. Lastly, Charlemagne was respected by his people because of his work with public structures. This King, who showed himself so great in extending his empire and subduing foreign nations, and was constantly occupied with plans to that end, undertook also very many works calculated to adorn and benefit his kingdom... (Einhard). Some of these additions included a half mile long bridge, and a basilica. Whenever Charlemagne would see something is disrepair, he would consult priests to go get it fixed. Phonetics is considered the study of sounds of any language, it relates to the mechanism of how sounds are produced and the way of speech sounds production. Phonology studies how those sounds are put together to create meaning. It studies the rules of language that govern how those phonemes are combined to create meaningful words. On one hand, Phonetics is talking about the physical aspect of sounds; it studies the production and the perception of sounds, called phones. Phonetics is the term for the description and classification of speech sounds. Sounds within phonetics are divided into vowels and consonants. Vowels are embodied in the letters (i e o a u). Whereas, consonants letters are embodied in the rest set of English language alphabets. Vowels and consonants describe the articulation of English language.
