Evidence Based Outcomes And Utilizing Findings
Evidence Based Outcomes and Utilizing Findings Evidenced based practice (EBP) is now considered
to be best practice but, although great strides have been made in applying the research in practice,
there is still progress to be made. EBP is central to delivering the highest quality healthcare and
ensuring the best outcomes for patients. However, EBP guiding the practice in healthcare systems is
not the norm in many healthcare systems across the United States (Melnyk Fineout Overholt, 2011).
The most overwhelming evidence for using EBP in practice is that is provides better outcomes in
patients and provides a higher quality of care. Therefore, patients are more satisfied, healthcare costs
are reduced and there is a reduction in differences in delivery of care according to geographic area
(Melnyk Fineout Overholt, 2011). Evidence based practice is defined by Polit and Beck (2012) as a
practice that involves making clinical decisions on the best available evidence which is usually from
disciplined research, while research utilization is using an aspect of a study for something else
unrelated to the original research. The two terms are sometimes used synonymously but there is a
distinct difference. In research utilization the emphasis is on translating the information into real word
applications. Evidence based practice (EBP) is broader than research utilization and incorporates
research findings with other factors (Polit Beck, 2012). Many factors work to either facilitate

Imagine falling down the stairs in school with a broken leg. In the sixth grade a kid by the name of
Devin tripped over his crutch and had fallen down the school stairs. For the first time ever on August
31st, 2016 i interviewed Devin Logan. He is a junior at Hempfield High school. While interviewing
him i discovered many interesting things about his family life, school activities and personality traits
and hobbies. According to Devin his family life is very dysfunctional. He is 16 years old born in
Pittsburgh Pa, on December 19th 1999. He has moved a lot over the course of his life. Haunton, Irwin,

Cliffs of Moher In my opinion, the Cliffs of Moher would absolutely be a great place to visit on your
trip. There is so much to do and you will certainly have a lot of enjoyment. You will definitely not be
disappointed if you decide to come here on your trip. One reason I would like you to stop here is that
there is so much to do! You can have your name engraved on a paving stone for only $5,000. If you
think that is fascinating, for $350,000 an entire viewing platform can be named after you. Also, you
can fish in the Cliffs of Moher. That is just something relaxing to do with your family. In the second

Taryn Simon Research Paper
Taryn Simon is a photographer who was shot down by Walt Disney because he believes that
photography shuts down the fantasy that guests are expected to uphold while visiting his theme parks.
He went on the say that what is in the parks allow the guests to fantasize and escape reality. I suppose
somehow a real image takes away the instinct mentally to create one s own. I feel that for business he
has a point because Disneyland is supposed to mesmerize a person and take them on a journey that
can not be taken anywhere else. If that image were to change to the public, it would not be as popular
or profitable. On the other hand, I do think photography can have that same effect on one s mind.
Taryn states that she chose to look inward because she wanted to confront the boundaries of the
citizen, self imposed and real, and comfort the divide between privileged and public access to ... Show

The photographs in this series are of men and women Taryn met around the world who had been
convicted of crimes they did not commit. She says that some of those people were convicted by being
pointed out in an image by a witness. This is because of law enforcements wrongful use of images. An
example was a woman who had been raped and saw some similarities in a man while looking at
photographs. Then in another photograph search the same picture of the man with similarities was
present and by then she felt sure the rapist was him, only it wasn t. She had just replaced the memory
with the photograph. As an observer, I definitely consider her work as art because she has dedicated
her talent to exposing the truth that has done some good in lives. The best part about art is that it
comes in many forms, and Taryn found the perfect way/form that worked for her. Not to mention, her
pictures were pretty amazing. The way she captured the emotion and innocence of the

Hate Crimes And Disability In America
Crime in America is an extremely plaguing issue. However, recently hate crimes specifically have
been on the rise. Those targeted by these awful crimes include those from specific race, sex, and
sexuality groups, as well as those with disabilities. While, all hate crimes are indeed terrible, those
targeting the disabled are especially heinous. To attack someone who can not physically or
consciously defend themselves is very cowardly. The authors of Hate Crimes and Disability in
America, Brian T. McMahon, Steven L. West, Allen N. Lewis, Amy J. Armstrong, and Joseph P.
Conway address the issue of hate crimes against the disabled as well as the statistics and legality of
this matter.

Genetically Modified Food And Drug Administration
A Fishy Modification The method by which food finds its way to our local grocer could soon change.
For the first time, the Unites States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is considering the approval
and release of genetically modified (GM) salmon into the American marketplace (Big Fish). Salmon,
of course, is just the brink of the biological possibilities. The possibility of the introduction of any GM
foods is monumental. Man s ability to increase the food supply guarantees major benefits;
nevertheless, modifying the earth s natural source of energy also promises detrimental consequences.

most recently, animals) that have been enhanced by the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

the world hunger crisis. Today, the world s total population exceeds six billion humans and continues
to grow (Genetically Modified Foods: Harmful or Helpful?). In fact, the world population is predicted
to double in the next 50 years. (Genetically Modified Foods). Meeting this need will prove to be a
huge challenge, but research proves that GM food can ensure a food production schedule of 17% more
food than necessary for each human daily (Pros and Cons of Genetically Modified Foods). However,
controlling hunger is not the only benefit of GM foods. Other benefits include: Pest resistance
Herbicide Tolerance Growing GM foods...can help eliminate the application of chemical pesticides
and reduce the cost of bringing a crop to market. (Genetically Modified Foods: Harmful or Helpful?)
Every year, farmers lose crops as a result of insects and other pests. These loses require farmers to
utilize pesticides when growing crops to ensure production. There have been more and more health
risks discovered from the consumption of foods treated with these chemicals.

Currently the United States of America is facing a dilemma with Spain in deciding whether or not to
go to war with them. After the explosion of the USS Maine, the public of the United States has been
forced into the choice of getting involved. President McKinley doesn t want to go to war since he had
a strict thought against it, but still the yellow press continued to broadcast news about anti Spanish
news. News soon started to spread of hateful message of Spain and this started to affect people s

Critical Analysis Of Some Lessons From The Assembly Line
Has the author s goal changed with this analytical reading of the text? If so, how? If not, why not?
o As I reevaluate the article Some Lessons From the Assembly Line by Andrew Braaksma (2005), I
come to the same conclusions, and overall notes. I notice again, that transitions in life are never easy,
going from an assembly line, punching the clock, and then back to college life. I also took the feeling
that the Author s college life was quite lax in comparison to hit summer work life. Other points I came
across again was a lack of security within that field, not paying attention to repetitive tasks can cause
injury, and the value of an education. I can relate to the value to an education, as it allows you to get
into the door to vet one s abilities. Without education, experience can land you in the same position.
However, at the Author junction in life, many would not have the experience to be able to obtain
secure employment, and with that I felt lucky to have been able to have obtained the experience in the
service. With that, I value an education, and am now perusing that to achieve higher goals.
Additionally, I don t want to ever be in a dying field, that could disappear, or become outsourced.
2. Have you identified new key points that the author uses to try to achieve his or her goal in the
selected article? If so, include them here. If not, explain why the key points from your Writing Notes

Hourglass Vs Invisibility Cloak Research Paper
The invisibility cloak and the hourglass are both very magical and powerful objects. Both options
have very much to offer to the lucky receiver. Although, when it comes to true events, the invisibility
cloak is the better option. The invisibility cloak is the better choice out of the two options. This is
because it can protect the lives of innocent people and animals when used for good. One day, if a
government based spy needed to spy on alleged terrorists, the spy would be able to watch and listen
the terrorists silently. If this occurs and the spy found out information, the spy would be able to notify
the government immediately and stop the issue before it happens. This could not only save the lives of
a few targeted people, but it ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Since it is an invisibility cloak, it will make the receiver completely invisible with no shadow or body
parts showing. This can be used to hide from someone trying to hurt or kill the receiver. It even can be
used to win a game of hide and go seek if needed. The invisibility cloak once proves itself again by
protecting the lives of human beings and winning childhood games. On the other hand, the hourglass
is also an option. The hourglass allows the user to have an extra hour of time each day. This gift could
give more times for activities, homework, and fun. It could also give more time for sleep or rest,
especially during a busy 8th grade year. The hourglass is a very resourceful option out of the two
choices. However, the hourglass does not make enough sense for the option to work. It says that the
hourglass will give the user an extra hour of time each day, but since there are twenty four hours a day
only, the hour does not fit in. The user of the hourglass would then have twenty five hours a day unlike
the rest of the world, therefore messing up time for themselves and potentially the time balance of all
humans. In order for time itself not to be messed up, this option should be

Confederates In The Attic Analysis
In Confederates in the Attic, the author, Tony Horwitz, gives an interesting, historical, and semi
humorous take on the Civil War, taking us on his journey through places and people that resonate the
Civil War, a journey he called the hardcore campaign of his own. Throughout this adventure, Horwitz
s obsession with the Civil War is supplemented by reenactors who call themselves hardcores,
historians, museums, Daughters of the Confederacy, teachers, and battlefields, along with everyday
people who express their views and knowledge of the War. As Horwitz takes his readers through his
journey, he brings to light the idea that the Civil War is unfinished for many Americans. This idea is
explained and discussed through many of his encounters.
Tony Horwitz grew up with an obsession with the Civil War and upon moving back to America after
time abroad, Horwitz s interest rekindled. He travelled to nearby battlegrounds but his full blown
obsession did not come back until the reenactors showed up in front of his house filming a
documentary. These reenactors, who would perform in film shoots for basically nothing, called
themselves hardcores , referencing the fact that they sought absolute fidelity to the 1860s: its
homespun clothing, antique speech patterns, sparse diet and simple utensils, (7). Some even went as
far as to soak their buttons in their own urine to give it the proper Civil War era look. During their
reenactments, the hardcores would only eat food ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Asylum In The 19th Century
The first of the largest asylums was built in Mulgrave Street Limerick, The Limerick District Lunatic
Asylum, better known today as St. Joseph s Hospital opened its doors in 1827. This asylum served
Limerick City, County as well as Clare and Kerry under the legislative Lunacy Act of 1821. Originally
it was to house one hundred and fifty lunatics , however within twenty years it was overcrowded,
housing close to five hundred patients within its walls. According to Dr. Brendan Kelly in an article in

became a lot easier to commit somebody to an asylum as a criminal lunatic, even if they hadn t

Confederate Flag
The Confederate Flag on School Grounds
Just like teaching any other topic in the Twenty First century, the topic of teaching The Confederate
Flag is controversial. Some people believe that you should not teach something with a negative
connotation attached to it. However others, including me, believe that teachers need to teach the
events that took place years prior, no matter the connotation.
In an insert in Huffington Post writer Krystie Yandoli talks about the recent trip she took to South
Carolina. In this trip, she has seen The Confederate Flag being hung all around. Yandoli writes, I ve

The Confederate Flag should be hung in the back of his classroom because he teaches about slavery
and the Civil War, so it is crucial in his teaching. However, I would think differently if Mr.
Schermerhorn was an English or science teacher because then the Confederate Flag would not be
beneficial in his teaching. Brakkton Booker quoted Jim Webb stating, The Confederate battle flag was
a battle flag; it assumed a lot of unfortunate racist and divisionist overtones during the civil rights
era.... He added that it was important, though, to remember the very complicated decision a young
person being called to duty during the Civil War era had to make. Jim Webb is validating that it is
good for students to know what occurred in the history of our country. However, if there was ever any
discussion about Mr. Schermerhorn supporting and teaching why a student should support slavery,
then there should be a concern. There is a major difference between hanging and supporting the
Confederate Flag.
Students everywhere should not be restricted from learning because of the connotation of a subject or
teaching device. Students should be able to rightfully learn and be taught what has occurred in our
history. This being said, there are concerns for teachers if they start to share their belief and support a
controversial subject, or if they are hanging

The Decline Of Native American And Inupiat Culture
The American government and society has played a substantial role in the decline of both the Native
American and Inupiat culture. They created inhumane boarding schools and oppressing laws that
inhibited those of a different culture from being themselves and partook in the urbanization of cultured
communities. The following practices need to be stopped and never forgotten so that such ethnocide
doesn t happen again. Boarding schools were an issue that plagued both Native Americans and
Inupiats. As conveyed by the writings of Mary Crow Dog and other Native American figures, we see
how the effects of such schools were devastating to the native population. Boarding schools wiped
Natives of their language and culture, teaching young children to be ashamed of what makes them
unique. Pupils would return from their long stays at boarding schools, unable to speak to their own
family, resulting in an isolation between themselves and their community. Over the years, generations
would eventually lose most of what makes them native and, for the most part, their culture slowly
faded away. It seems that the Inupiat people faced a similar fate. Inupiat children were forced to learn
by Western standards, eventually forgetting their crucial survival skills, language, religion and other
unique aspects of their culture. However, we are exposed to a more positive outlook towards boarding
schools in the book, Fifty Miles from Tomorrow, where William Hensley says he enjoyed his boarding

Data Anonymization Essay
1. INTRODUCTION Data in its original shape contains sensitive information about individuals, and
publishing such data will breach individual privacy. The recent practice in data publishing relies
mainly on rules and guidelines as to what kinds of data can be published and on agreements on the use
of published data. This approach may lead to extreme data distortion or inadequate protection. Privacy
preserving data publishing provides methods and tools for publishing useful information and also for
preserving data privacy. Privacy preserving data publishing was intended to construct published tables
in a way that allows systematic tasks (e.g., aggregate query answering, data mining) over the
published data and also for protecting the privacy of individual s data. Privacy preserving data mining
refers to the area of data mining that seeks to preserve the sensitive information from unsolicited or
unendorsed disclo¬sure. The major objective of privacy preserving data mining is to construct the
algorithms for modifying the original data in various ways, so that the confidential data and
knowledge remain confidential even after the mining process. Data anonymization is the process of
obscuring published data to prevent the identification of the key information. There are two
approaches known as generalization and suppression used in the anonymization process.
Generalization is the process of replacing less specific value with the higher value. Suppression

Closing the Gap between Disabled and Nondisabled Essay
Closing the Gap between Disabled and Nondisabled
The democratic ideals that the United States were built upon are freedom and equality; it is in the
Declaration of Independence, the Bill of Rights, and used as a defense when a person can think of
nothing snappy to say (i.e. It s a free country! ). However, while American culture is based on the
notion that you have the power and ability to become anyone or achieve anything, it is painfully
obvious to people with disabilities that government and the mainstream public has forgotten about
their needs. While most nondisabled people do not need to depend on family or government for
financial or medical assistance, people with disabilities are often denied jobs and opportunities,

A large part of the oppression of people with disabilities is based on the systematic categorization of
people, usually separated into normal and abnormal. While what is normal cannot exist without first
establishing what is abnormal, the process of this decision can be decided by visual judgment,
personal interaction, or medical diagnosis. Whether a person has a facial disfigurement, a wheelchair,
or a seeing eye dog, many people would consider those visual cues as apart from the norm, while
epilepsy, cerebral palsy, or a hearing impairment would be distinguished as abnormal by personal
interaction or medical diagnosis. All these factors separate people with disabilities from those who are
able and are provided with opportunities that disability can take away. To declare someone of having
an abnormality is to cut them off from the mainstream society, create them to be a bit of a pariah or a
sideshow (as was the case with the infamous Elephant Man), and to question their existence and
worthiness in and to the general American public and government. Jobs, public access, independence,
freedom, and self respect become personal and social casualties when a person acquires a disability,
such as blindness or losing a limb. In an essay

The Importance Of Intelligent Design
Many students if you ask them what intelligent design is the most likely answer will be they do not
know. That is why intelligent design should be taught in schools. If we have to take science classes
then we should have choice to learn about the meaning in intelligent design. Looking at a different
point of view so we can chose in what to believe in. Intelligent design should be considered as a
curriculum. Intelligent design does not necessarily have to involve religion. It just means that an
intelligent person created things. Therefore, ID should be taught in schools so the student can have
another aspect and not just learn about evolution, so the students can have freedom of speech, and the
students will develop critical thinking skills. By having another aspect to think about can make a
student see other theories as well. Evolution should not be the only thing getting credit for the way life
is. Intelligent design can also explain the existence of how things are created if we actually think about
it. I personally do not agree with the teaching of evolution to students. For example, I do not believe
that we evolved from apes or monkeys. If that was the case, why is there still apes in the world if they
evolved into human. If we actually think about it evolution was mentioned from a man s theory. Why
not believe what the bible says too just because we know a man was the one who wrote the bible does
not mean it is not true. Because evolution was also written by man how do

What Makes An Effective Leader
Leadership A leader is somebody who stands for his cause as well as assumes liability and propels
different people moreover. There is an unmistakable contrast between being a supervisor and a leader.
A leader is an inspiration for others and rouses people to point high and accomplish that point.
However a manager just regulates over his subordinates. Control actually goes to a pioneer, yet that
power is not a device of leader. Or maybe on the off chance that one tries to control the conditions

capability, sympathy, and valor. Character is, as talked about in class, conceivably the most critical
normal for a pioneer. A man s actual character is the kind of people they are the point at which they

this up because I grew up in an environment that is filled to the brim with different cultures and
backgrounds, but the music that the children learn only represents one group. I feel like the town s
music program could have been so much more but it fell stuck to traditions. By doing this, children
immediately become uninterested in music and dislike taking music classes and only a handful of
children stay within the program. Their only reason to take the class is to fill the requirement then
afterwards never take a music class again. In the end, the students have more trouble finding their own
identity, ethnically and musically. They had to explore the music for themselves and find what they
like.
I believe it is important to showcase all of the distinct genres and styles of music in a music classroom
because they are all important to whoever is listening and it helps show the students that they should
be proud of what they identify themselves as. It is disappointing to see such a great and well funded
music program such as South Brunswick Township to fall under traditions and norms, and not further
explore other music that can help students find themselves. It is vital to show children different
composers and artists that are like them and are more invested into and better represent them

Gardening And The Life Cycle Of A Plant
I did my project with Taylor McNeil and we decided to focus our world on gardening. When we were
assigned this project, we brainstormed some different ideas that our world could revolve around. The
first idea that we had was the season of Fall. We thought that it would be a great idea to revolve our
world around fall because it was the season that we are currently in but then we decided to do
something different. Some of our other ideas included birthdays, recycling, and gardens. We then
narrowed it down between two choices, gardening and recycling. Both of us are passionate about our
environment and so these topics were extremely intriguing. We then decided that we were the most
interested in gardening and selected it to be our world. Gardening is a pretty broad topic so we
focussed more on the reason behind gardening and the life cycle of a plant. When looking at all the
Common Core Standards there were many standards that could be incorporated into a lesson about
gardening, so many that we chose six of them. The first one we chose was CCSS.ELA
LITERACY.RL.2.1. In this standard, students would ask and answer questions demonstrating that they
understand the text. A way to incorporate this into a classroom would be to ask students questions,
about gardening and plants, before you read aloud a book about gardens to them. Instead of having the
students answer the questions right away, have them think about these questions while you read aloud
the book. After you finish reading

Leadership Primer Lessons
I believe that the philosophies described in General Powell s Leadership Primer is generally applicable
to law enforcement as well as the military. Being in a leadership role in a police department you are
forced to take on different roles and adjust your style given different situations. Therefore, not all
principles or Lesson which are described in the primer can be held true during all situations. These
lessons should be looked at as a guide toward leadership and not be held as gospel or hard fast rules.
The reason I believe these lessons apply to law enforcement is that basic leadership qualities are
needed for any organization. The former top down coercive leadership styles of the military is an
antiquated practice. The lessons in this primer show a more fluid and ... Show more content on

I spent years struggling and fighting to get to the position where I sit now on the organizational chart
at my department. However, the thing which I have learned during that time is that respect of others is
eared and cannot be bestowed on you by another (Daly, 2016). Being a leader does not always mean
that you are the owner of a fancy title, know the most information or have the ability to recite policies
and procedures. The true essence of the leader is showing courage, tenacity and patience when others
lose their cool, having faith in others while taking responsibility for your own actions and having the
ability to listen while being a successful communicator. As an effective leader, you must lead from the
front of the pack and set an example for those that choose to follow you. Being able to repeatedly
demonstrate ones expertise, job knowledge or interpersonal skills while completing a task or mission

A Reoccurring Theme Of Mary Shelly s Frankenstein
In the novel, Frankenstein, Mary Shelly tends to create a reoccurring theme that isolation indeed leads
to the destruction of humans. There were negative consequences throughout the book when isolation
occurred, whether it was earned or unearned. From the beginning of this novel, Victor isolates himself
on his own because of his selfish interests in playing the role of God in life. Victor s creation
experienced negative consequences from being separated not only from Victor but the world around it.
Mary Shelly introduced isolation at the beginning of this novel by showing Victor s interests that lead
to his isolation, as well as the isolation of his creation. In the article, Monsters of Modernity:

This statement goes to show that Victor s addiction to the human composure is what lead to his fate of
isolation. Victor s creation received unnecessary isolation which created multiple adverse
consequences for him. After Victor had created this life from dead body parts, he abandoned it because
he was ashamed of the monster he had created. Victor was shocked to see that his creation lacked
basic human qualities and had an unappealing appearance. Victor was his creature s mother, father,
and Godly figure, who left him because he was incapable of being a great being. This creation was
innocent from the moment it was created because it had no choice about its appearance or physical
traits. If the monster blamed its isolation on anyone, it would be Victor because he left it when it
needed him the most resulting in the creation turning to nature for all support. The creation is not only
shut out by Victor because of its look, but society shuts him out. too. I am alone and miserable; man
will not associate with me, said Victor s creation in the novel Frankenstein (Shelley 103). Victor s
creature knew that his appearance would turn people away, yet there was nothing he was able to do.
The society that got a glimpse of this monster was mortified by his grotesque like appearance and his

Experience during a Fundraising Program
Personal Reflection Paper Initially, I would like to talk a little about my role in the fundraising project
and then mention about how OB concepts played a role in the completion. My role in the project was
Purchasing and Procurement Officer and as the name suggests, this was a very demanding job and
highly respected by all my peers. This position was very significant for me that, I cannot emphasize
enough how much it is going to help me in my field of studies and possibly my career. Being part of
the Basketball Shootout , my biggest challenge was to get desirable gifts for the participants and
making sure it did not cross the projected budget. In order for me to do the job very efficiently, I had

avoiding to be less cooperative at times and was immediately pulled back to see this. However, I also
believe that I brought a culture into the group, which fulfilled the role of a negotiator in order to avoid
conflict and save time on decision making. This was to me a breakthrough in my learning experience
only because I did not know I had them(skills). I understood the fact that many tradeoffs are made in a
project, and a mediator was always in favor of the group. My intuition that our group had an
integrative characteristic to its negotiation policies proved right. A lot of this was to make each other
happy at the moment and also the fact that we were peers hoping to maintain long term relationship
was also a reason. However, it was not possible for me to create a win win situation all the time. I
believe that my reasoning and persuasion skills helped to some extent to avoid conflict. This was also
a perfect opportunity for me to put a number of other alternatives on the table for discussion and thus
exploring my creative side. Overall, I must say that looking back at our achievements, I think it was

Racism In Schools
Racism is a controversy in today s world and many people are suffering from this. Gifford, author of
the book Racism says Racism has been to human relationship what cancers been to human existence.
It is a disease that eats away humanity itself. (Gifford, p, 6). However there seems to be racism toward
specific races example. Black people have faced a lot of racism in the past, but it is improving day by
day, such as you will notice lots of black leader like Barack Obama (currently US President). On the
other side Asians are still left behind. Talking about Asians many people tend to its only Chinese or

her opinion in an article named Why Does Racism Against Asians Go Ignored and Unpunished in the
United States? , he said Everyone talks about the enslavement of blacks. It is pounded into every
student every day from the 1st grade until the end of any historical studies at any American university.
Nobody talks about the enslavement of the Japanese (Murao). In my judgement I absolutely agree
with this point. People thinks it s a joke and Asians do not have any feelings. Example during the

The Characteristics Of Bipedalism In Humans
Bipedalism, a locomotion that consist of the two lower limbs to move. This can be found in many
animals, but it is considered more optional than mandatory as a way to transport. Some use it as a
defense mechanism. In humans, it is one of the special characteristics that is used to differentiate the
human species from the rest of the Hominidae family. Only humans have mandatory bipedalism.
Other characteristics include massive brain size and the ability to make and use tools (Lovejoy,1988).
It was discussed that because of going from quadrupedal to bipedal it cause many advancements such
as brain development. Bipedalism was the biggest evolutionary change for the human ancestors.
Nobody really knows the origins of bipedalism, but there are some theories that might explain it. It
can be the freeing of hands to use tools or to hold and carry resources or offspring. It can be change of
habitat from woodland to plain or use of defense mechanism to look beyond the plains for predators at
further distance. It can also be energy efficient and to run longer more easier compare to
quadrupedalism. Bipedalism gave many advantages with the change of human body, mainly the
skeletal structure, but is it possible that some of these changes have tradeoffs? Some scientists believe
that certain illnesses, injuries, and health complication are the results of the change of skeletal
structure to become bipedal. There are disadvantages for bipedalism and it can differ between male

in the early years of schooling and widens as they progress through the school system . Basic

The Case Of Brinegar V. United States
1.Probable cause is a set of facts surrounding a specific circumstances that leads a reasonable person
to believe an individual is committing, has committed or is about to commit a crime. Probable cause is
required in the instances of an arrest, search and seizure and the issuance of a warrant. To
ESTABILISH reasonable cause the officer can use any trustworthy information. For example the
office could use his/her experience, informant information, first hand observations or knowledge,
victim reports, anonymous tips, or hearsay.
In the case of Brinegar v. United States, the petitioner claimed that the arresting officer violated his
4th amendment rights and illegally search his car. In the search and siezure the officer found that the
petitioner was transporting intoxicating liquor into Oaklahoma, which is a direct violation of law. The
courts found that the arresting office had arrested the petitioner on the same violation several months
earlier and this was enough reasonable cause to conduct the search ans seizure.
Reasonable suspicion is different from probable cause as reasonable suspicion allows an officer to
temporarily detain a person if the officer suspects the person of committing a crime, previously
committed a crime, or is about to commit a crime. This will allow the officer the time to conduct an
investigation that may allow him/her to find the facts that are required to arrest per probable cause.
Therefore, reasonable suspicion is thought of to be a hunch

This is a true testament to the education we receive at the Academy and during our time at Sea. With
great weather, our time in Virginia was just as impressive when pulling into Norfolk harbor. Seeing the
stern of the USS Wisconsin, as a relic of one of the greatest vessels our American Shipyards have

as an engine department we adapted to the situation and came up with a solution that was ultimately

Why Is Nuclear Power Bad
Nuclear power: good or bad? Nuclear energy to create power has been used for hundreds of years.
Today nuclear energy powers almost 11% of the world. It produces nearly no greenhouse gases or co2
emissions. But it does leave behind nuclear waste that stays radioactive for decades. Nuclear energy
has been used for many years, but there are goods and bads to Nuclear power from nuclear energy.
Nuclear Energy has a long history of Grief. Since 1942, Nuclear Energy has grown and spread
worldwide. The history of Nuclear Energy begins in 1942 when enrico Fermi created the first nuclear
reactor, the Chicago Pile 1. Enrico left Italy to escape new Italian racial laws. He created this reactor
by fission. Which is also used as the fuel to the atomic bomb, which came 3 years after at the trinity

Fission can be controlled easier, that is why it is used the most. fission occurs by splitting an atom,
instead of putting two molecules by force at high speeds, and changing the atomic number of the
molecule. Fusion needs some requirements to occur, it needs high pressure and high temperature, and
at extreme levels to combine the Molecule. If this is tried, and is done wrong, the damage could be
devastating and even nuclear. This is a good source of power and has been used for many years.
Usually when they malfunction they are treated and nothing bad happens, but if not treated, it could
cause a nuclear meltdown, like what happened at 3 mile island on March 28th, 1979, and that s not
good.
Nuclear Energy has many supporters around the world. The benefit of Nuclear Energy are clear to
many. People who are for Nuclear Energy, support it for many reasons. The outcome of produced
power can be changed, all you do is change the fuel entering the chain reactor (Page 11). One main
factor that puts nuclear energy on top is it lets out little air pollutants, greenhouse gases, smog, slows
global warming, and helps limit acid rain (Sally

Personification In Stopping By Woods On A Snowy Evening
Robert Frost s poem, Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening, was written in 1922 then later
published in 1923. In the poem, the speaker expresses his feelings and thoughts of the woods during
the darkest night of the year. The speaker and his horse makes a random stop in a certain area of the
woods. The speaker seemed very interested in the scenery of that part of the woods. Although the
speaker wants to stay, he has to keep his promise and continue on. Frost uses personification, imagery,
and alliteration to express the feelings and moods from the snowy night in the woods. Frost uses
personification to convey how worried the horse is and to describe the environment of that part of the
woods. My little horse must think it queer, (line #) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This does allow the reader to focus on how the horse is shaking his harness bells. The only other
sound s the sweep (10). In this line the O and S sound is being repeated. The reader was able to
understand how this line was meant for what the speaker heard during his stop. The woods are lovely,
dark and deep, in line 13 the D sound is being repeated to emphasize the scenery of the woods. By
using the words dark and deep the reader is able to understand the big idea of how the woods must
have looked through the speaker s eyes. Frost was able to grab the reader s attention to each subject
from his use of alliteration throughout the poem. Frost s use of alliteration, personification, and
imagery definitely conveyed the speaker s attitude towards the woods. The reader believes Frost wrote
about the woods to show how peaceful and calming it is in an isolated place such as the woods. Most
people live in crowded neighborhoods or over populated places, but living in a secluded area
decreases the stress of others outside their household. Because of how isolated the woods are, they can
worry about themselves compared to worrying and stressing on the outside

Allusion In John Cuddon s The Moon And The Stars
12) ča:nd ɔr ta:re (Moon and Stars) In the poem The Moon and the Stars, show the star fatigue caused
by the eternal journey. The moon reminds them that movement is the essence of life and only those
who endure; those who are tired will die. The poet recognizes that the arrest of the movement leads to

But the universe continues to grow and numerous treasures complement its history at every moment.
Iqbal finds hope in the consciousness of this eternal change. 4.2. 2: Allusion Cuddon (1992) stated

assume an established literary tradition, a body of common knowledge with an audience sharing that
tradition and an ability on the part of the audience to pick up the reference. The following kinds may
be roughly distinguished: A reference to events and people, Reference to facts about the author

As a student of ethnography I was interested in this social phenomenon of craft beer in Cape Town,

Persuasive Speech For Deaf Children
My second claim is that the hearing family or or hard of hearing have to make sure that their deaf
child who is between 3 to five years should know minimum the basics of the sign language before
doing the cochlear implants surgery. A first reason why it is important that the family should to do the
cochlear implants to their deaf child after he/she learns to use the sign language is that sign language
will give the family a chance to understand and accept the Deaf community. According to the
American Speech Language Hearing Association(ASHA), a national professional, international
scientific, and credentialing association, states that since one of the most important methods after the
cochlear implant surgery is to follow it up with numbers of rehabilitation services and pronunciation
practicing, the child at this point should know the foundation of the sign language (ASHA). Knowing
some of the sign languages will allow the deaf child and the pronunciation coach to communicate
easily. The deaf children who have difficulties in understanding speech, but using sign language
before planting, it can significantly improve their communication skills. Teaching the deaf child the
sign language before the surgery can help him/her to use it as another communication method that
supports the spoken language as well, hence, they will be understood much easier.
A second reason why knowing the sign language before doing the cochlear implants is important is
that it prevents the deaf child

These distinction sections were noticeable because of changes in energy levels and changes in the
tempo of the music. To me this also represents the different periods we may go through in life. Our

Change is unfortunately inevitable. The theatrical elements such as the music, lighting, and costumes
helped add to the serious aesthetic. One recurring them I noticed was how the dancers held hands at
various points within the dance, and this represents unity and necessity of having a support system.
As I watched the dance concert I began connecting what I was seeing to what we had already seen and

Media Violence
It has been calculated that American kids see about 200,000 acts of violence and 25,000 murders on
television by the time they reach age eighteen. (Schleifer 18) Arrests of people under the age of
eighteen for violent crimes rose forty seven percent from 1988 to 1992. (Miller 174) The American
Medical Association conducted a study that found a direct relationship between viewing and
homicide. (Miller 176) Does this kind of overexposure to violence have a significant effect on children
and teenagers? The answer is yes! Many reliable sources have proven that violence in the media has a
negative influence in children under the age of eighteen. Statistics show that deaths and arrests
involving children due to violence committed by other ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is especially true when it come to cartoon violence because the consequences to the victims are
rarely shown. (acc.jc.edu/north/masscomm/cartoon/html) Very young children, especially, and some
teenagers have trouble distinguishing fact from fantasy. One teenager gang member wounded in a
shoot out was amazed at how much the gun shoot hurt. After all, on television, people who get shot
never show pain! (Schleifer 18) I didn t know it would hurt him, said an eight year old boy after he
was arrested for beating his next door neighbor. (Kreiner 27) Statistics even show that the media also
affects the number of crimes committed by children and murders of children by other children. In
1993, 28 New York youth faced murder charges. On a national scale, arrests for homicide among
juveniles went up 93 percent from 1988 to 1992. A 1994 study by Parade magazine showed that 12

Jos De Momper The Starry Night
Art piece number 1
The Starry Night was created by Vincent Van Gogh in the year 1889. As Post Impressionist piece of
art, it is clear Van Gogh expressed personal feeling and displayed original techniques and colors that
traditionally had not been displayed in art. It was also, a time when science was making breakthroughs
in research and new theories were developed, writers and painters sought out fresh new styles.
The Starry Night is believed by many to be the view from his room while staying at an asylum in
Saint Remy. Van Gogh has used many objects within the painting to display his feelings; a church
steeple rises up in the middle front of the painting possibly to reflex his emotions for religion. One
may even view the stars and night sky ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
On a personal note, I see Van Gogh looking forward to this peaceful village while he rests in his
afterlife. Van Gogh shows his deepest ideas and emotion by connecting them as symbols such as the
cypress tree and the cemetery the church and his religion. Continuing in thought: the fact he seeks a
way out of this world and must find his peace within the church which he places in the center of the
painting. But, no matter the symbol or thought that created between on lookers and painting he left
behind the raw emotions, Van Gogh has been able to invoke emotion by use of color, and brush stoke;
he has left a gift for generations to

The And Of Public Broadcasting
Introduction
When you watch television, you re probably watching to educate yourself on what s going on around
you in today s society, to find entertainment, and stay up to date on today s latest trends.
In todays modern society people rely on the availability of information to make better decisions.
Whether as a voter, consumer or investor, Americans believe they will be able to form their own
idealistic views based on what they see in the media. However, that belief is just a fallacy. In my
opinion, viewers that believe this false pretense are unaware that a portion of mass media in the
Unites States is privately owned. In both public television and radio, the
Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) funds a portion of their revenue (the
CPB is a private, nonprofit corporation created by Congress in 1967 as apart of the government s
investment in public broad casting). On the other hand, the individuals that are aware of this
information assume and/or believe that privately owned media outlets equal access to more truth.
What s often an important ideology, but also overlooked or missed, is the relationship between the
government and the mass media, and how their relationship interjects with our views of them.
The Media Role Society
The media s role is to relay information to the public. Looking at the evidence, and the relationship
between the government and the media, you will decided if private ownership means freedom from
government ownership. The

  • 2. Evidence Based Outcomes And Utilizing Findings Evidence Based Outcomes and Utilizing Findings Evidenced based practice (EBP) is now considered to be best practice but, although great strides have been made in applying the research in practice, there is still progress to be made. EBP is central to delivering the highest quality healthcare and ensuring the best outcomes for patients. However, EBP guiding the practice in healthcare systems is not the norm in many healthcare systems across the United States (Melnyk Fineout Overholt, 2011). The most overwhelming evidence for using EBP in practice is that is provides better outcomes in patients and provides a higher quality of care. Therefore, patients are more satisfied, healthcare costs are reduced and there is a reduction in differences in delivery of care according to geographic area (Melnyk Fineout Overholt, 2011). Evidence based practice is defined by Polit and Beck (2012) as a practice that involves making clinical decisions on the best available evidence which is usually from disciplined research, while research utilization is using an aspect of a study for something else unrelated to the original research. The two terms are sometimes used synonymously but there is a distinct difference. In research utilization the emphasis is on translating the information into real word applications. Evidence based practice (EBP) is broader than research utilization and incorporates research findings with other factors (Polit Beck, 2012). Many factors work to either facilitate ... I feel that for business he has a point because Disneyland is supposed to mesmerize a person and take them on a journey that can not be taken anywhere else. If that image were to change to the public, it would not be as popular or profitable. On the other hand, I do think photography can have that same effect on one s mind. If not, why not? o As I reevaluate the article Some Lessons From the Assembly Line by Andrew Braaksma (2005), I come to the same conclusions, and overall notes. I notice again, that transitions in life are never easy, going from an assembly line, punching the clock, and then back to college life. I also took the feeling that the Author s college life was quite lax in comparison to hit summer work life. Other points I came across again was a lack of security within that field, not paying attention to repetitive tasks can cause injury, and the value of an education. Throughout this adventure, Horwitz s obsession with the Civil War is supplemented by reenactors who call themselves hardcores, historians, museums, Daughters of the Confederacy, teachers, and battlefields, along with everyday people who express their views and knowledge of the War. As Horwitz takes his readers through his journey, he brings to light the idea that the Civil War is unfinished for many Americans. This idea is explained and discussed through many of his encounters. Tony Horwitz grew up with an obsession with the Civil War and upon moving back to America after time abroad, Horwitz s interest rekindled. He travelled to nearby battlegrounds but his full blown obsession did not come back until the reenactors showed up in front of his house filming a documentary. These reenactors, who would perform in film shoots for basically nothing, called themselves hardcores , referencing the fact that they sought absolute fidelity to the 1860s: its homespun clothing, antique speech patterns, sparse diet and simple utensils, (7). They created inhumane boarding schools and oppressing laws that inhibited those of a different culture from being themselves and partook in the urbanization of cultured communities. The following practices need to be stopped and never forgotten so that such ethnocide doesn t happen again. Boarding schools were an issue that plagued both Native Americans and Inupiats. As conveyed by the writings of Mary Crow Dog and other Native American figures, we see how the effects of such schools were devastating to the native population. Boarding schools wiped Natives of their language and culture, teaching young children to be ashamed of what makes them unique. Pupils would return from their long stays at boarding schools, unable to speak to their own family, resulting in an isolation between themselves and their community. Over the years, generations would eventually lose most of what makes them native and, for the most part, their culture slowly faded away. It seems that the Inupiat people faced a similar fate. Inupiat children were forced to learn by Western standards, eventually forgetting their crucial survival skills, language, religion and other unique aspects of their culture. The recent practice in data publishing relies mainly on rules and guidelines as to what kinds of data can be published and on agreements on the use of published data. This approach may lead to extreme data distortion or inadequate protection. Privacy preserving data publishing provides methods and tools for publishing useful information and also for preserving data privacy. Privacy preserving data publishing was intended to construct published tables in a way that allows systematic tasks (e.g., aggregate query answering, data mining) over the published data and also for protecting the privacy of individual s data. However, while American culture is based on the notion that you have the power and ability to become anyone or achieve anything, it is painfully obvious to people with disabilities that government and the mainstream public has forgotten about their needs. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A large part of the oppression of people with disabilities is based on the systematic categorization of people, usually separated into normal and abnormal. While what is normal cannot exist without first establishing what is abnormal, the process of this decision can be decided by visual judgment, personal interaction, or medical diagnosis. Whether a person has a facial disfigurement, a wheelchair, or a seeing eye dog, many people would consider those visual cues as apart from the norm, while epilepsy, cerebral palsy, or a hearing impairment would be distinguished as abnormal by personal interaction or medical diagnosis. All these factors separate people with disabilities from those who are able and are provided with opportunities that disability can take away. To declare someone of having an abnormality is to cut them off from the mainstream society, create them to be a bit of a pariah or a sideshow (as was the case with the infamous Elephant Man), and to question their existence and worthiness in and to the general American public and government. Experience during a Fundraising Program Personal Reflection Paper Initially, I would like to talk a little about my role in the fundraising project and then mention about how OB concepts played a role in the completion. My role in the project was Purchasing and Procurement Officer and as the name suggests, this was a very demanding job and highly respected by all my peers. This position was very significant for me that, I cannot emphasize enough how much it is going to help me in my field of studies and possibly my career. This was to me a breakthrough in my learning experience only because I did not know I had them(skills). I understood the fact that many tradeoffs are made in a project, and a mediator was always in favor of the group. My intuition that our group had an integrative characteristic to its negotiation policies proved right. A lot of this was to make each other happy at the moment and also the fact that we were peers hoping to maintain long term relationship was also a reason. However, it was not possible for me to create a win win situation all the time. I believe that my reasoning and persuasion skills helped to some extent to avoid conflict. However there seems to be racism toward specific races example. Black people have faced a lot of racism in the past, but it is improving day by day, such as you will notice lots of black leader like Barack Obama (currently US President). Kyle Murao expresses her opinion in an article named Why Does Racism Against Asians Go Ignored and Unpunished in the United States? , he said Everyone talks about the enslavement of blacks. It is pounded into every student every day from the 1st grade until the end of any historical studies at any American university. Nobody talks about the enslavement of the Japanese (Murao). This can be found in many animals, but it is considered more optional than mandatory as a way to transport. Some use it as a defense mechanism. In humans, it is one of the special characteristics that is used to differentiate the human species from the rest of the Hominidae family. Only humans have mandatory bipedalism. Other characteristics include massive brain size and the ability to make and use tools (Lovejoy,1988). It was discussed that because of going from quadrupedal to bipedal it cause many advancements such as brain development. Bipedalism was the biggest evolutionary change for the human ancestors. Nobody really knows the origins of bipedalism, but there are some theories that might explain it. It can be the freeing of hands to use tools or to hold and carry resources or offspring. It can be change of habitat from woodland to plain or use of defense mechanism to look beyond the plains for predators at further distance. It can also be energy efficient and to run longer more easier compare to quadrupedalism. Bipedalism gave many advantages with the change of human body, mainly the skeletal structure, but is it possible that some of these changes have tradeoffs? Some scientists believe that certain illnesses, injuries, and health complication are the results of the change of skeletal structure to become bipedal. In fact, the achievement gap between rich and poor students persists in the early years of schooling and widens as they progress through the school system . United States 1.Probable cause is a set of facts surrounding a specific circumstances that leads a reasonable person to believe an individual is committing, has committed or is about to commit a crime. Probable cause is required in the instances of an arrest, search and seizure and the issuance of a warrant. To ESTABILISH reasonable cause the officer can use any trustworthy information. For example the office could use his/her experience, informant information, first hand observations or knowledge, victim reports, anonymous tips, or hearsay. In the case of Brinegar v. United States, the petitioner claimed that the arresting officer violated his 4th amendment rights and illegally search his car. In the search and siezure the officer found that the petitioner was transporting intoxicating liquor into Oaklahoma, which is a direct violation of law. The courts found that the arresting office had arrested the petitioner on the same violation several months earlier and this was enough reasonable cause to conduct the search ans seizure. Reasonable suspicion is different from probable cause as reasonable suspicion allows an officer to temporarily detain a person if the officer suspects the person of committing a crime, previously committed a crime, or is about to commit a crime. This will allow the officer the time to conduct an investigation that may allow him/her to find the facts that are required to arrest per probable cause. If this is tried, and is done wrong, the damage could be devastating and even nuclear. This is a good source of power and has been used for many years. In the poem, the speaker expresses his feelings and thoughts of the woods during the darkest night of the year. The speaker and his horse makes a random stop in a certain area of the woods. The speaker seemed very interested in the scenery of that part of the woods. Although the speaker wants to stay, he has to keep his promise and continue on. The And Of Public Broadcasting Introduction When you watch television, you re probably watching to educate yourself on what s going on around you in today s society, to find entertainment, and stay up to date on today s latest trends. In todays modern society people rely on the availability of information to make better decisions. Whether as a voter, consumer or investor, Americans believe they will be able to form their own idealistic views based on what they see in the media. However, that belief is just a fallacy. In my opinion, viewers that believe this false pretense are unaware that a portion of mass media in the Unites States is privately owned. In both public television and radio, the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) funds a portion of their revenue (the CPB is a private, nonprofit corporation created by Congress in 1967 as apart of the government s investment in public broad casting). On the other hand, the individuals that are aware of this information assume and/or believe that privately owned media outlets equal access to more truth.
