Persuasive Essay About Bullying
Frustrated with the numerous calls about the same problem around town, the officer said, Brian, we ve
received twenty calls this morning about the same problem. Along with another fifteen calls about
someone opening the doors on unlocked vehicles and throwing trash on the seats. We ll send an officer
to your house to make a report. Jeremiah and Harold s favorite activity during school was teasing the
younger students until they cried and then called them cry babies. Jeremiah stopped to go at Harold s
house to go to school with him. Leaving his bike near the front porch, He noticed an envelope
partially covered by snow and grabbed it before ringing the doorbell. Look what I found on your
porch, Jeremiah said, holding the envelope in his hand. Grabbing it, Harold yelled, Hey Mom, look
what we found on our porch. Since his mother, Julie knew about others having their Christmas wishes
granted. Grabbing the envelope, sure it contained good news. Tearing it open, Julie removed a typed
written message and read it. Merry Christmas, Harold, I received your Christmas list, but I also
noticed you and your friend weren t good boys this year. It s not nice to bully your classmates. You
should be ashamed. The advice I have for you this Christmas is grow up and change your ways.
Instantly, Harold denied any wrongdoing. Angry with her son, Julie decided against talking with him
until she had an opportunity to speak with Jeremiah s parents. You boys better get on the road, or you
re going to be late for school. While on their way to school, they questioned how Santa would know
about them making the children cry. I bet it was Pam, she promised she was going to write him a
letter, Jeremiah said. Should we take care of her? We could teach her to keep her big mouth shut.
Harold asked, ready to hurt a classmate. No, we better leave her alone until she forgets about it. Then
we can take care of her. +++ Doug listened, as the announcer told the story about the Walker girls.
Yesterday morning when seven year old Tammy Walker opened the front door, she screamed, when
she saw three colorfully wrapped packages on the front porch. Grabbing them,

The Positive And Negative Aspects Of Hospitalization
Healthcare is an issue that affects people all around the world. Many countries have adopted different
perspectives on how to solve this problem. Two of the main solutions to the healthcare problem are a
free market healthcare system or a national healthcare system. Both of these positions have positive
and negative attributes that come into play when they are compared with one another. These systems
create an environment where the majority of people receive healthcare but in different ways.
Healthcare is something that allows people to use hospitals and other facilities at a reduced cost. This
enables people to get check ups and immunizations without paying for the full cost of the visit. In the
case where hospitalization occurs healthcare covers a large portion of the costs to stay in the hospital
and the procedures that you may undergo while you are in the hospital. Healthcare becomes very
important to individuals all around the world with the price of hospitals and other facilities rising. This
rise in prices is making it hard for people to get the appropriate care they need without having
insurance companies pay for part of the expenses. A national healthcare system, also called universal
healthcare, is one where every citizen is provided with some healthcare coverage whether it be from
the government or private industries. Some, but not all, of national healthcare systems are single payer
healthcare systems. A single payer healthcare system is where one agency,

Essay Citizen Kane
Citizen Kane
After watching the movie Citizen Kane I realized why this movie was named one of the best films
ever. Yellow journalism was in an era from the 1880 to the 1900 and it featured flashy journalism of
that time, which made editors write about invented stories. Which went to big headlines on subjects
that weren t true. The two big writers of that time were William Randolph Hearst and Joseph Pulitzer.
During the film Kane is depicted as a yellow journalism at different times.
One example is when they put out the article Charles Foster Kane Defeated, Fraud At Polls . From that
headline you would believe that he was beaten by some illegal purpose, but it was just a headline
getting people to read the article and the enjoyment of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If you were a true friend, I don t believe you would write something negative about your friend s wife.
Last, one of the biggest parts of the film was the word rosebud. We didn t get to know what it meant
until the last scene of the film. But, it was his sled I believe that was something that he loved and felt
that he belonged to. It reminding him of his family and home. That was probably one of the only
things he really cared about. I guess while he was lying there dieing he thought of his sled rosebud,
because of all the good times he had with it, and how he had a family that loved him at one point in
his life.
There are many unique and innovative techniques used throughout the film. Some were sequencing
which are different shots that represent purpose like flashbacks to another time period. Another that
was interesting was the use of the newsreel footage. Also the many different angles that were used,
and how the lighting and shadows were a big part of the film.
The whole film was done through something called sequencing. They started the film at the end of
someone life and by the end of the film you know everything. They had one character trying to find
out what his last words meant. By going to friends and family and asking them questions. During each
visit with someone they went to a flashback explaining the certain time period in his life along with all

Women s Responsibility Of Rear The Children And Keep The...
Introduction:
From the beginning of times it has always been the women s responsibility to rear the children and
keep the house tidy, traditional wifely duties. Why? Because kids come from inside of women? Pew
Research Center, reports that men spend 4.8 hours a week (in 2011) more with their children than they
did in 1965 and six more hours a week (in 2011) on household duties and chores. Women actually
spend less time than they did in 1965, a reported fourteen hours less a week in 2011 (USA Today,
2013) .Men and women are learning to work together. Work/life balance is becoming a shared priority
which in 1965 was not as women spent most the time in the home. I do find it very interesting that
men and women with children both spend about 10 hours less doing leisure activities with kids (USA
Today, 2013); I find it interesting only because the number is so much higher than originally thought
which suggests that teamwork between husband and wife is beneficial to everyone making better
relationships. The percentage of stay at home dads has increased by 3% in 1989 to 7% in 2012 (Pew
Research Center, USA Today).
Fathers are extremely conflicted today, says Christopher Brown of Cedar Park, Texas, who is
executive vice president of the National Fatherhood Initiative, a nonprofit based in Germantown, Md.

much more holistic sense of what providing means. It s not just financial

Angels In America Film Analysis
Well to begin, instead of a scene from a class episode, I would choose a specific show itself, and that
would be Angels in America for this particular question. First off, after analyzing as well as doing
more researches on this film, the authorial intent of Angels in America is that Tony Kushner, the
author, wants to use the style of epic theater, where there are multiple, overlapping scenes as well as
political theater inspired by Brecht, to create this play. Having a style of political theater in this play of
Angels in America, Kushner wants the audience to view the characters as having personal identity and
sexual orientation responsibility. It is also where the society will judge based off of what they see but
not how it is really like

Explain The Importance Of A Child Or Young Person-Centred...
It is important to safeguard children and young people because no one deserves to be abused whether
it be emotional, physical, sexual abuse and no young person deserves to be neglected and we have a
duty to protect them from harm. Every child deserves to live in peace and have no harm or abuse
come to them. If we protect children from harm they are more likely to grow up into confident
members of society. Children with a disability are three times more likely to experience abuse and
neglect and it s up to us as practitioners to recognise the signs and symptoms to protect all children. It
is important for the children at my workplace to feel safe and protected from any harm or neglect and
we show that we support them though these situations. 2.2. Explain the importance of a child or young
person centred approach. The importance of young persons centred approach is to understand that
every child is different. The framework of Every Child Matters was arranged and set up to support the
joining up of services to ensure every child can achieve the five Every Child Matters outcomes.
Support is offered to children to enable them to be healthy, stay safe, enjoy and achieve, make a
positive contribution and achieve economic well being. All services are aimed at young people and are
based around each individual needs. Children s wishes should be considered during decision making
to give them a sense of belonging and not to be made to feel as though its them who s to blame

A History Of The World
In A History of the World in Six Glasses, Standage discusses how beer and wine are made in terms of
the ingredients and how each beverage is related to each social class. The ingredients are what
differentiate one beverage from another beverage. An Ingredient is the main component that makes the
beverage unique and gives it an identity. An ingredient is what makes people to choose a beverage
from wide range of options. An ingredient gives the color, the texture and the taste to a beverage
which makes it unique from other beverages. When it comes to the social classes, beer and wine
played a huge role to set up the structure of the social classes. Both beer and wine made each stage of
social class devote to a certain beverage that would represent their social class. This essay, I will
describe how Tom Standage s text, A History of the World in Six Glasses, discusses the relationship
and the differences between ingredients of the beer and wine and the social classes with regard to beer
and wine. This synthesis will explain how the beer and wine were viewed in the in terms of
ingredients and how each social class was devoted to a certain beverage. To start off, ingredients differ
from each beverage and they give a specialty to each drink. Wine and Beer have a lot of common
qualities in terms of their ingredients and how they are made. For example, Standage states, Beer on
the other hand, could be made from cereal crops, which were abundant and could be

Bobby Eberle Research Paper
Bobby Eberle seems to bristle when you use the term gentleman driver. It isn t so much that he is not a
gentleman, and he is definitely a driver. That term goes right up my spine, because that is not what I
consider myself, Bobby says. He just wants to be a race car driver. This year, the 48 year old driver
has four top 10 finishes in 6 starts for JDC Motorsports in the Pro Mazda Championship. An engineer
and a former nationally ranked tennis player, his competitiveness combined well with some natural
talent for driving and has led to success in the world of open wheel racing. Bobby decided to go racing
after he got a gift of a 3 day class at the Skip Barber racing school. He says he was always interested
in cars, but really caught the bug after the classes. Now several years into his racing career, Bobby is
climbing the ladder of the Mazda Road to Indy. But the road is not without challenges. Eberle finds
himself driving against 17 year old racers who have spent the better part of their lives in go carts and

Why are so many people against LGBT adoption? People says bought good and bad thing about
LGBT adoption. People that are against lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender says that gay couple are
going to abuse their child, that same sex couples would make their child develop unwanted abilities
and more. Why does people say things like these, do they have actually prof? My opinion about
LGBT adoption is that I think they should be allowed to adopt, because every child have the right to
have a family and it is better for child to live in a foster home than an orphanage.
Why say those who are against LGBT adoptions that same sex couples are going to abuse they child

2. What size orders would you schedule on the CNC drill? On the CNC router?
Time taken to process the orders depends on the selected drilling method either
a) Manual drilling or CNC OR b) Using CNC Drill
Assumption 1: Manual Drilling is not done on all the available Manual Drill Presses in parallel.
Calculating time taken for Manual drilling and CNC Drilling:
= Setup Time + Run Time (Per Hole) * No. of Holes drilled on each circuit board * No. of boards
Time taken for Manual drilling =15 + 0.08*500*x where x= number of circuit boards
Time taken for CNC drilling = 240 + 0.004*500*x where x= number of ... Show more content on

CNC Drill
What Size orders can be scheduled on CNC Router?
Using the steps used in previous part, calculating the time taken by each method
Time taken for Punch Press =50 + x Time taken for CNC Router = 150+ 0.5x
To figure out whether CNC Router to be used,
50 + x ≥ 150+ 0.5x Hence x ≥ 200. [x= number of circuit boards]
Conclusion for CNC Router: n 200 Use Punch Press
Total no. of Boards (n) n 200 For Use CNC Router
3. Would you recommend adding another CNC drill? Perform a net present value calculation to help
make the decision. Price of the CNC machine is $80,000. The additional assumption we need to add to
assumption already given is that:
Arthur Dief will run all the small orders (8 circuit boards or less) and other boards will be done on a
CNC machine despite of the shop floor policy which states that only orders for more than 100 boards
be drilled on a CNC machine.
The company is currently using a CNC machine for orders for equal or greater than 140 boards due to
capacity of a CNC machine; however, they would be able to process all orders with CNC machines if
they add one more machine.
In this case, if we calculate the current cost in drilling process:

Famine, Affluence And Morality By Peter Singer
Famine, Affluence, and Morality is a well known article written by Peter Singer that was published in
Philosophy and Public Affairs in 1972. Peter Singer is an Australian utilitarian philosopher, and in
Famine, Affluence, and Morality he argues that more fortunate people should be required to help those
in need or at least give significantly more than what is currently being given. The essay focuses on the
Great Bengal Famine that occurred in 1971, Singer mentions how reluctant the western world was to
aid those in need and he blames it on the fact that it was a crisis that was happening far away from the
western world. One of Singer s main points is, If it is in our power to prevent something very bad
from happening, without thereby sacrificing

The Pros And Cons Of Ida B. Wells
The supreme art of war is to subdue the enemy without fighting Sun Tzu. Many of the famous Civil
Rights leaders would agree with this quote, but while there also leaders that wanted violence. Many
famous people of this time period had differing opinions on how to make the lives of African
Americans safer. The primary sources from Wells, Washington, Turner, Du Bois, and Harper showed
their separate opinions on how to better the lives of African Americans, and each person had positives
and negatives, but the alternative offered by Ida B. Wells would have caused larger problems between
the black and white communities. Two of the alternatives proposed were considered radical and
almost dangerous to the African American community. The first radical idea was proposed by Ida B.
Wells. She believed that the African American population needs to stand up against the government to
show that the lynching and unjust treatment in America is unfair. Wells was famous for her boycotting
of the railroads, and she wanted every household to have a gun just in case of emergencies involving
the white people. These ideas were very radical for the time period because she wanted people to hurt
others first, she famously states, The strong arm of the law must be brought to bear upon lynchers in
severe punishment, but this cannot and will not be done unless a healthy public sentiment demands
and sustains such action . Ida B. Wells had passionate beliefs, but this would not be the best

Human Resource Philosophy At The Western Sydney Wanderers
Human resource philosophy revolves around management s beliefs and assumption about people, their
nature, needs, values and their approach to work (Shani, 2011). These beliefs and assumptions
determine how people should be treated (Shani, 2011). This essay will argue coaches translate human
resource philosophy to their organisation. Coaches such as Tony Popovic who currently coaches the
Western Sydney Wanderers who compete in the Hyundai A League. Popovic was also formerly a

philosophies demonstrated at the Western Sydney Wanderers. Specifically, this essay will focus on

The beliefs and assumptions determine how people should be treated. Employees tend to respond
more positively to the appreciation they get for the work they do (Shani, 2011). Performance
Appraisal can be problematic to define however, (Grote, 2011) defines performance appraisal as the
review and discussion of an employee s duties and responsibilities, the measurement of skill and
accomplishments within reasonable accuracy. The appraisal helps identify areas which need to be
improved and areas which employees already excel in. Performance appraisal is important to any
organisation as this is the optimum way of achieving goals and set objectives by the business. The
organisation will have constant supervision of employees and how they are performing, this creates a
relationship which can have a positive influence rather than a negative one as the employees will see
firsthand what they are doing wrong and will strive to improve. In the organisation these appraisals
can be used to determine the weaker and stronger employees, successful organisations today have
strong performance appraisals as this allows them to recruit, develop and maintain their employees
and keep them at a high standard which allows the organisation to grow. (Grote, 2011) states that most
appraisals are used for employees who are going to be receiving promotions, rewards or terminations.
These appraisals as previously mentioned identify training and development needs (Robbins, 1994).

Genetic Mutation And Its Effects
Genetic Mutation in C. elegans and its Affect
INTRODUCTION
Caenorhabditis elegans (C. elegans) are transparent roundworm, that range about 1mm in length and
lack a respiratory and circulatory system. C. elegans is a model organism in genetics, its short life
cycle, ease of cultivation, small size, and high cell number and development makes it an easy animal
to use in experiments (International Journal of Molecular Science). In this experiment, two strains of
worms will be used. Virgin hermaphrodite and him 8 males, which will be the wildtype. Him 8 strain
is being use in this experiment because this gene has an increased rate of X chromosomes, giving a
forty percent change of producing male and sixty percent chance of hermaphrodite. This will help
produce wildtype and mutant genes in the genetic offspring of the two. Hermaphrodites can be
distinguishing from the male counterpart because they have wispy threadlike structure for their tail,
whereas male have a blunt end tail. (C. elegans as a genetic organism) The tails are a great way in
telling the difference between these two mutant strain. When crossing these two strain together, the
hypothesis that was made would be that we would find more male mutation of an offspring because
the male strain is a more recessive gene trait. Dumpy A with a phenotype of dyp 10, this affects body
shape and movement, causing the worm to be half of the normal length but the same width, which
causes a stumpy effect.

Specifically, Green did project work for Hiller in the Midwest, solving previously identified business

aspects of the business that might be less clear to the manager, who was occupied with running the
entire operation. The short term nature of his project assignments and their focus on specific problems
with everything else removed from consideration allowed Green the liberty of a broader, big picture
perspective. He attributed two previous projects and experiences to radically shaping his feelings
about the business when he entered the Westward. The first project was a small Chicago hotel in
which the employees were considering unionization. When Green arrived, he found an all white
management staff and an almost all black employee population and no interaction between the two
groups. On his first visit, he went to the cafeteria and listened to employees. Through informal
conversations, he learned which issues bothered the employees. The problems were mostly small
things, like the quality of employee meals, that could easily be remedied. However, the senior
management of the hotel was unaware of these employee issues, because they had separated
themselves from employees and formed a tightly knit

We Screwed Up Analysis
The world we live in has made many mistakes, and it s far from perfect. In Chip Wards letter We

past generations mistakes of being ignorant. He is sorry for depleting all the natural resources, the
species going instinct, the chemical obsession and the increase in advertising he refers to as confusion.
Nevertheless, chip is sorry for using up all the natural resources. He says it took millions of years for
those layers of carbon goo to form under the earth s crust and we used it all up in a geological instant
(ward, 2012). He also talks about how we made everything and anything out of oil. This is very true
almost everything we have is made from a machine that eats up oil fast. We need to have faith that our
generation or that our next generations will be able to develop renewable resources by the time these
natural resources expire. Our generations have come up with some amazing things. Who knows what s

Notes on Virtue, Tradition and Animal Mating Essay
1. In Rousseau s criticism of the effects of modern civilization, one of his critical themes that evident
is virtue. He believes the new arts and sciences give the appearance but not the reality of virtue, which
he holds to be the true value of civilization. Rousseau seems to indicate that humans in a state of
nature were moral and generally good, because in their original simplicity they could not deceive one
another. The arts and sciences, then, challenge that basic morality, being created throughout history to
disguise our evils. Rousseau then makes a comparison between Athens and Sparta. He admires the
Spartans because they are virtuous in the literal sense of the word manly. By comparison, the
Athenians, who many think of as a model ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

This is a society, where tradition has to be defended by traditional activities that are their own ritual

is severed from the essence of tradition, which is its connection with the experience of everyday life.
The rise of addiction comes from decision making. The concept of addiction was initially applied
exclusively to alcoholism or the use of drugs. But, now any area of activity can become overrun by it.
One can be addicted to many things that you cannot go without. Like tradition, addiction is about the

A International Company s Workers Human Rights Through...
Introduction Globalization is defined as the act of globalizing, or extending to other or all parts of the
world. In other words, globalization is that the world has experienced two great waves of gobalization
driven by the free trade policies of major trading countries and falling transportation costs.
The first wave was from roughly the down of the Industrial Revolution in the 19 Century to World
War I, and the second has run since 1947. International trade and international migration grew
substantially during the first wave, but world trade increased even more rapidly during the first 25
years of the World War II wave. Both periods of gobalization faced significant suspicion about the
results of globalization for labor conditions. (Globalization and Labor Conditions, Robert J. Flanagan,
2006)
Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to compare the international company s workers human rights
through the influence of the international trade.
Over the past decade, China has been an attractive destination for global corporations due to its low
wage rates and labor laws that disallow independent trade unions and limit the right to strike.
Recently, Chinese industrial workers have been pushing back, demanding better wages, hours and
working conditions. Collective action by Chinese workers, including strikes, has been successful in
many cases and is bringing Chinese employers to the bargaining table As a result, China s industrial

Immigration Problems
Ayush Patel
American Lit B
Research Paper
27 September , 2017
In 2013, 13 percent of the U.S. population was foreign born. Current projections suggest that by 2065,
nearly one in five people in the United States will have been born outside the country (Hing 25).3
Immigration has been an integral part of the United States since its colonial days. Over a million legal
and illegal immigrants take up residence in the United States each year. With the country struggling to
support the huge intake of new comers, life in America has been suffering tremendously. The
excessive stress put upon the welfare system, overuse of the family reunification laws, and the
exploitation of employment based immigration are reasons for immigration reform. The American
Government is trying to solve the deep rooted problems of immigration including the 1965 law, Chain
immigration, and Latino immigration.
Some factors from the past are widely responsible for the present immigration problems in the United
States. A major cause for all of the problems is the 1965 Immigration and Nationality Act. The 1965
Immigration law prioritized the relatives of U.S. citizens, while others were not able to settle in U.S.
(Salam 24).2 The biased national origin quotas of 1920s was replaced by the 1965 law, which focused
on family unification ( Hing 25).4 This Act has kept some restrictions for the immigration from
Europe and Asia. The law set numerical restrictions on visas at 170,000 per year. But, this law has

Close Reading of What the Snakes Brings to the World by...
What the Snake Brings to the World is a 2002 poem by the Canadian poet Lorna Crozier. The poem is
free verse, with four stanzas of 6, 4, 4 and 9 lines respectively. The poem is riddled with Biblical
allusions, with the snake being its focal point, making extensive comment on the nature and
consequences of the aforementioned snake. A dominant reading of the poem outlines the duplicity of
the nature of evil and sin and related consequences. An alternate reading of the poem conveys the idea
of the human progression reflected by post lapsarian linguistics. Finally, a resistant reading attacks the
very nature, role and impacts of the Judaeo Christian tradition, claiming it to be fault laden.
The primary, dominant, idea being conveyed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The end of the poem confirms that without the snake that is modern linguistics, we d have to live with
the singular of everything , expressively oppressed by the lack of freedom within dated language
systems that existed before the Fall of Man. However, there is possible ambivalence within in poem,
as the final word is truth with a capital T , a letter previously sidelined along with its association to
dated and useless language systems. This may possibly suggest that there is in fact room for pre
lapsarian linguistics, but perhaps only within a Biblical context.
A resistant reading of the poem uncovers the idea that religion, specifically the Judeo Christian
religious tradition, is intrinsically harmful and retrogressive in nature. If the snake is interpreted as a
synecdoche for Judaeo Christian religious tradition as a whole, a profoundly negative opinion of such
an ideology is formed throughout the poem. Without the snake that is this religion, there would be no
pain and suffering . The poem asks, what could bear such a weight , interrogating the conscience of
religion, implying guilt on its behalf. Furthermore, the imagery suggested in the second stanza
surrounding the snake s shadow evokes negative ideas concerning the nature of the religion, which is
further bolstered by its ability to separate itself from this shadow, and to move on

West Caribbean Airways Flight Analysis Essay
In the early hours of the morning on Tuesday, August 16th 2005, West Caribbean Airways Flight 708
was a West Caribbean Airways charter flight which crashed in a mountainous region of northwest
Venezuela. With eight crew members and 152 passengers the McDonnell Douglas MD 80 departed
Tocumen International Airport (PTY) in Panama City, Panama and headed to Martinique Aimé
Césaire International Airport (FDF) in Fort de France, Martinique, France. After initially climbing to
FL310, and subsequently to FL330 to level off, the Captain of the aircraft noticed the engines sounded
abnormal. Reacting to sounds of the engines, the Captain began to take corrective actions to correct
the problem, by starting a rapid descent as a precaution. The time from the initial radio call from the
first officer declaring engine problems to the subsequent crash took only 9:00 minutes. This research
paper will delve into the chain of mistakes that were made in order for this terrible accident to have
occured.
Background In 1998 the charter service West Caribbean Airways was started in Medellín, Columbia
by company founder Hassan Tannir. The organization focused flights primarily in Central America,
part of the mainland of Colombia, and San Andrés in the Caribbean. It operates largely domestic
services, and its main base of operations are out of Olaya Herrera Airport (EOH), Medellín. West

Apple Vertical Integration Essay
I can start with the fact that Apple Inc. is a vertically integrated company. It is a package of every
things from hardware to software, over to online services. It do all this to proof its products that
distinguish market from PCs to smartphones.
In this essay, I will discuss how Apple used vertical integration strategies, both backward integration
and forward integration to planning its competitive position within its industry.
First of all, vertical integration is when the company need to develop its business and expand it to
areas that are in different points on the same production channel like when a company owns its
supplier or distributer in order to get more control in a particular sector, as well as to increase profits

We can say Apple vertically integrated because its four companies in one, so all key parts of the
supply chain under its controlling. It s a hardware company because its designs its own hardware, its
software company because its own and developed its software such as iOS operating system, Apple is
a service company because it prepare its products like the iTunes an iCloud also Apple as a retail
company it retails of its apps online through Apple Store. This is unlike Samsung used Google s
Android operating system in its cell phones.
Apple followed this approach, therefore all profit go to Apple and increase its income but also there
are disadvantages to this strategy when a company fails to keep their finances they are only influence
itself and that lead to loss more money.
Apple has followed both backward and forward integration for many reasons. To control its
manufacturing process of its hardware, to know its customers and to control innovation supply chain.
A backward integration target is to develop the inputs and that way give more control on Apple s
supply chain. Apple followed forward integration to increase its market share by changing the method
that following in distribution. For many reasons Apple decide to have own retail stores, to increase its

Changes Within The Workplace After The Economy,...
Changes in the workplace due to the economy, technology, and globalization have affected many lives
in modern day society. In addition, managerial approaches have influenced changes organizations
have faced throughout the years, which tend to affect an organization s workforce. For example, some
of the changes organizations have had to encounter have been around the following, but are not
limited to employee productivity, employee and organizational inefficiency, employee s personal and
professional value, and organizational structure to name a few. Furthermore, managerial approaches
going back centuries have molded certain expectations people and organizations have of each other.
For example, many individuals during the industrial era had an expectation to contribute to his or her
household at a young age. The feeling of this type of obligation at times in today s society are seen,
but are not as prevalent. Instead of young people focusing on their studies, and skill set, they often
have to find employment that he or she initially do not want to do, which often times leads to entry
level positions that are typically left. Allowing managers to often alienate and exploit the employee.
What this often leads to in organizations is the ineffective managerial approaches often throwing the
human element out the window. Through alienating employees, it denies him or her meaningful work,
which in turns reduces opportunities for growth. The exploitation of employees occurs

Career Planning Process Analysis
1. Introduction
Deliberate goalsetting and planning can be helpful to ensure a career which is both successful and
fulfilling. Career planning is the process of evaluating your interests, preferences, skills and
objectives, all to ensure that your work is in good agreement with personal values and strengths.
Reflecting on a viable career plan is particularly important for U of A Engineering graduates as the
economy in Alberta has seen heavy turmoil in recent years, resulting in the loss of job opportunities.
As a result, setting realistic goals and strategic planning is essential to navigate the rough economic

Additional information gathered from my personal experiences will be outlined here.
In addition to assessing my current state through skills assessments, such as ALIS, strength based
assessments have been shown to be more useful for career development. One example is
StrengthsQuest (Gallup, 2016) which is a program that aims to help students to discover and take
advantage of their personal strengths. StrengthsQuest is being used across campuses and organizations
to develop strength maps for project teams and working groups. Strength maps help to identify
strengths and weaknesses within a group plan and accordingly, plan for success.
When researching companies and average salaries, I often turn towards Glassdoor ( Glassdoor, 2016)
as a source for company reviews, salaries and company interview practises. The data curated on
Glassdoor is maintained by current or former company employees which further reinforces the
creditability. This information is particularly useful because Glassdoor users have posted questions
that companies use during the interview process and salary information is available for specific

The Impact Of Modern Day Internet On Our Daily Lives Essay
HExecutive Summary
If we go back to history, two decades ago, people used primitive message boards or emails to talk to
one another and a business would communicate via text ads or pop ups on search engine/directory like
Yahoo. (Bolman, 2015, Para 4) Then in 1997, two Stanford Ph.D. students invented an algorithm
named PageRank. The PageRank calculated the importance of the website based on how often other
sites would link to it. Later, with the introduction of Google, the first wave of technology began. This
invention put the modern day internet in motion. (Bolman, 2015, Para 5) This essay paper is about the
modern day internet and the technological uses in our daily lives. This paper will take a closer look at
how we communicate on the internet and discusses about the major network building blocks and their
functions, including some vulnerabilities associated with the internet software applications.
How we communicate on the internet
In 1969, DOD s ARPA (Advanced Research Project Agency) began an effort to develop redundant and
survivable strategic communication architecture. (APUS, n.d., Week 1 Lesson) This DOD attempt
gave birth to Transmission Control Protocol (TCP)/Internet Protocol (IP). TCP /IP soon found its
widespread uses in the web and many networking applications (because they were very reliable and
effective). TCP/IP made web enabled devices possible. In addition, TCP/IP would connect to the
internet (if desired) for remote

The Five Steps Of Exemplary Leadership In The United...
Leading From the Mess
MKC Timothy J. Runnels, U.S. Coast Guard
CPO Academy, Class 234, Team Trent, MKCS Wilson
In the U.S. Coast Guard it is required to report to new units every two to five years based on your rate
and location. This allows the service and its members the ability to diversify in areas such as gaining
new knowledge and leadership techniques. Reporting to a new unit serves as an opportunity to display
such techniques and knowledge learned previously. Issues that arise when reporting to a new unit
differ in many aspects: unqualified crew, rigorous watch hours extended, and lack of quality training.
However; each issue can be solved by utilizing steps from The Five Steps of Exemplary Leadership as
learned in Chief Petty Officers Academy. The Five Steps of Exemplary Leadership are: Modeling the
Way, Inspire a Shared Vision, Challenging the Process, Enabling Others to Act, and Encouraging the
Heart (John Wiley Sons, Inc, 2017). Each has two commitments that should be met to allow behaviors
to be exposed.
Problems that have occurred in recent weeks have negatively influenced the crew of the United States
Coast Guard Cutter (USCGC) Dependable and has set a poor standard that some feel is not held true
to the Coast Guard s core values; Honor, Respect, and Devotion to Duty. Good leadership will aid in
the fast recovery of the poor state of many units. Admiral James B. Stockdale stated that Leadership

The Birth Rate Of Canada
There are many key demographic indicators that make up each country. One of them is the crude birth
rate. In Canada for example, the crude birth rate is 11 which is considered low. The crude birth rate is
the number of live births per thousand of population per year. When this is compared to the world
birth rate it is a little lower. According to the table provided the crude birth rate is a stable indicator. It
is stable because it has not changed much in recent years and is pretty even to the region of Canada.
Because it is stable, it is also a good environment to live in. The birth rate is low because in Canada
there are higher standards of living, in addition to higher education levels. With the total fertility rate
being low, that can come in the factor of the low birth rate from the last couple of years. 2.1 children
per woman are required to replace the population in the absence of migration. Some key factors of
why the fertility rate fell were for 3 costly events that affected a lot of countries. First in the 1930s it
had a big decline due to the great depression. In the 1970s it also declined due to the energy crisis. The
last major event was in 2011 and it was the Great Recession. With the Great Recession there were
high unemployment rates. During the Great Depression period the total fertility rate was declining
because there were many couples that used birth control to limit their family size. Canada: Region:

Abstract
In this essay I will be talking about the key guidelines when it comes to investigating computer related
crimes, such as what kind of the sections and sub sections the offence falls under when regarding the

digital forensic unit to analyse the data, more so how this is used to make accurate judgment on why
the data was in this location and what its purpose or intended use was. Furthermore I will address what
kind the authority the ACPO are granted, and further dissect the responsibilities the chief
commissioner has. Lastly I will be addressing one the biggest computer related crimes which Cyber
Crime and how ACPO created a method for dealing with such crimes, such as dividing the crime into
two different categories of Cyber Crime, and how they differ from one another.

Contrtactual Capacity of Minors
INTRODUCTION Contractual Capacity Contractual Capacity is the legal ability to enter into a
contract. Minors have particular rights and obligations established by the court when it comes to
contracts. Once a person reaches age 18, they are considered a legal adult in every state in the nation.
In addition to minors, other persons are able to avoid contracts. Mentally impaired and intoxicated
people, convicts, and aliens lack the capacity to enter into a contract. A Minor In law, the term minor
(also infant or infancy) is used to refer to a person who is under the age in which one legally assumes

It remains a matter of fact, to be determined by reference to the minor s requirements, whether the
goods or services are necessaries. It need hardly be pointed out that this creates a good deal of
difficulty for the supplier who wishes to rebut the minor s plea of infancy with the pled that what he
supplied was a necessary. Although the concept of enforcing the minor s undertaking to pay for
necessaries was developed not for the benefit of the tradesman who may trust the infant, but for the
benefit of the infant himself, it is to be doubted that many adults are encouraged to deal with the minor
solely on account of such elusive tests. The nature of a minor s liability on contracts involving
necessaries remains a matter for debate, and the question is whether the liability is strictly contractual
or arises in quasi contract. Both views have been espoused in the same case. L.J. said: The plaintiff,
when he sues the defendant for goods supplied during infancy, is suing him in contract on the footing
that the contract was such as the infant, not withstanding infancy could make. Support for this view is
found in Roberts v. Gray, a case involving an executory contract for instruction (thought to be in the
class of contracts for necessaries), where damages were awarded for breach. Fletcher Moulton L.J., on
the other hand, held in Nash v. Inman CASE that: An infant, like a lunatic, is

The Best Things About Earning A Passive Income
One of the best things about earning a passive income is that there is no skill or knowledge glass
ceiling when it comes to doing so. It does not matter if you are a PHD student, a doctor with 20 years
of experience, or a person who did not finish high school, anybody can earn a passive income. A good
demonstration of this is EBook writing; it may sound daunting at first, but anyone can do it. Experts
(job recruiters, psychologists, marriage counselors, dietitians, personal trainers, hypnotists, etc.)
Instructors (yoga, piano, etc.) Coaches (sports coach, vocal coach, life coach, business coach, etc.)
Teachers (language, cooking, etc.) These are all very diverse professions, each requiring a different
skill set, yet anyone in these professions could write a bestselling EBook just based off their
experiences. So, as you can see, it does not matter who you are, as long as you are willing to work at
it, you can build a very impressive passive income. You do not have to be a professional either. All the
above professions went through some form of professional training, but even if you did not, you can
still write a great EBook. Some people may get intimidated because their writing is not good, or they
do not think anyone will read it; but look, the EBook you write does not have to be the next War and
Peace; they simply have to help your potential readership. The key is to focus on a problem or
question that your potential readers could have, and to solve that problem

Data Warehousing Is A Single Repository Or Storage Of Data...
1. INTRODUCTION
Data warehousing is a single repository or storage of data integrated from different sources which
allows the business and the organization to generate a report or analysis to make decisions based on
those data. Data warehousing is an integral part of any organization as it helps to increase the
efficiency of the decision makers by integrating and transforming the data from multiple incompatible
sources to the consistent and meaningful information which allows them to perform accurate,
consistent and substantive analysis of data(P. 1152).
The data stored in data warehouse will not provide any benefit to the organization until the hidden
information is extracted from it. There are various way to extract the data, however data mining is the
best method to get the meaningful trends and patterns from the data warehouse. Therefore, data
mining can be defined as the method of extracting the valid, comprehensible and previously unknown
information from the huge storage to use on the decision making process (P. 1233).
This report will presents the various features of data mining tools and emphasize the importance of
data mining to realize the value of data warehouse.
2. DATA MINING TOOLS
There are plenty of data mining tools available in the market and most of the seller also provides the

The Importance Of End Of Life Care
Since this is generally a problem for all types of families in every economic class, the most impactful
factor regarding the lack of preparation for this issue is probably a lack of intentional and formal
education for young people, as well as proper public awareness for young adults to those near
retirement.
The every day struggle of trying to find your path in life can consume the mind into an over focus on

Social Mobility In The House On Mango Street
Can we ever truly escape the place that we come from? Many people, especially during the most
recent election, talk about upward mobility as if people can easily change their position in life,
however this is not necessarily true. Personally, I believe that upward mobility is not as easy as people
tend to believe it is. In my family, my mother and both of her sisters are well educated. Though they
all studied at prestigious private colleges, which hypothetically should have helped them escape from
the cycle of the lower middle class, only one of the three achieved social mobility. A variety of factors

Yes, Esperanza does appear to have both determination to leave her circumstances and an ability to
break gender roles not present in other women. However, both facts can be attributed to her young
age. Children usually seem to be more optimistic than adults; if Esperanza truly believes she could
leave she may seem more determined. Age may have sucked the optimism and determination out of
the other women on Mango Street as they came to understand their position in life would not change.
Furthermore, girls tend to experience more and more pressure to obey gender roles as they approach
sexual maturation. As Esperanza seems younger, her community may not push gender roles on her as
fiercely as they push gender roles on women. This could be the reason that Esperanza can break
gender roles while others cannot. Moreover, considering all the evidence that members of the
community find it nearly impossible to permanently escape Mango Street, the evidence that Esperanza
might leave is insignificant. To focus on Esperanza s potential to leave notwithstanding her age,

the early 1990 s, a tracking system was unheard of for keeping tabs on sex offenders. Since then,
legislatures have enacted laws, with the most recognized act; Sex Offender Registration and
Notification (SORN), which is Title I of the Adam Walsh Child Protection and Safety Act (AWA) of
2006 ( 109th Congress Public Law 109 248, 2006). The Act was amended when a young child by the
name of Megan Kanka was raped and murdered by her neighbor. This

The Atomic Bomb Essays
August 6th, 1945, 70,0000 lives were ended in a matter of seconds. The United States had dropped an
atomic bomb on the city of Hiroshima. Today many argue whether or not the U.S. should have taken
such a drastic measure. Was it entirely necessary that we drop such a devastating weapon? To answer
that first we must look at was going on in the world at the time of the conflict. The U.S. had been
fighting a massive war since 1941. Moral was most likely low, and resources were at the same level as
moral. Still both sides continued to fight and both were determined to win. Obviously the best thing
that could have possibly happened would have been to bring the war to a quick end with a minimum
of allied casualties. Harry Truman s decision to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We shall continue to use it until we completely destroy Japan s power to make war. This quote
embodies the spirit of the American people of the time. The public was eager for a quick end to the
war and American casualties. Also Truman threatens to utilize the A bomb s power again until we are
victorious. In hindsight it is clear the correct decision was made. How can anyone be certain that
Japan would have continued to fight? It is possible that they were preparing for surrender, no one can
say for certain exactly what would have happened but by examining evidence of Japanese culture and
warfare it is obvious that would not have been the case. At the time of WWII systematic and organized
education made efficient quot;brainwashing quot; possible. In public schools, students were taught to
die for the emperor. By late 1944, a slogan of Jusshi Reisho meaning, quot;Sacrifice life, quot; was
taught. In addition to civilian s dedication to their country, there was a group of military pilots called
the Kamikaze. Kamikaze were suicide pilots. They would load up an airplane and try to nose dive it
into an enemy target. Think about what must be on that pilot s mind. Imagine the undying love for his
country. He would fight to the bitter end for his emperor. The most frightening part of this is that the
entire Japanese military thought this way. The fact that the enemy is willing to die so long as you die
with him is not something

The Benefits of Magnet Schools Essay
Advantages of magnet schools
Why would students want to attend a magnet school? The reason may be because magnet schools
offer a variety of specialized programs that students can choose from. Programs such as visual and
performing arts, mathematics, sciences, and many others are available for students to choose from.
Similar to having a major in college, students at magnet schools have their own specialized area that
they can take classes in, in addition to basic academic classes. They are encouraged to be creative and
to hone their skills in their area of interest.
Another reason magnet schools may be so popular could be due, in part, to the different teaching
styles that some of the schools have adopted. For example, University ... Show more content on

In addition, the selective admissions criteria of magnets create firewalls for students with failing
grades or records of bad behavior or truancy who want to attend these schools (esc.org).
Another disadvantage of magnet schools has to do with the curriculum of these schools.
While students have the opportunity to concentrate on their specialized interest, there is a tendency, as
a result, for attention to be taken away from other areas, primarily academics. Magnet schools do not
always encourage students to stay focused on academics, as the school is designed to promote
achievement in other areas.
Assumptions could be made that, when it comes to college admissions, more selective and
competitive schools, such as magnet schools, would reflect well on applying students. Yet, a new
study of more than 1 million students . . . has concluded that very selective high schools can hurt, not
help, most students chances of getting into very selective colleges (Matthews, p2). The study shows
that students at more demanding high schools tend to have lower grade point averages than those of
students who attend neighborhood schools. In addition, the courses are sometimes less challenging at
magnet schools, mostly due to the fact that most of the work load comes from the area of special
interest (Matthews, p3).

Henry Ford In Brave New World Essay
Henry Ford in Brave New World Aldous Huxley wrote Brave New World in 1932. Brave New World
is set in London, in AD 2540. The novel shows life in a utopia where there is advanced reproductive
technology, class conditioning and sleep learning. Everyone is happy in Brave New World and if they
start to become unhappy, they can take a drug called soma. Henry Ford is considered the God. Henry
Ford is an appropriate God figure because he was the leading industry person of his time, Brave New
Word is about technology and the people of the World State are like the parts of a factory.
Henry Ford played a large role in the American Industrial Revolution. Ford was born in 1863 and by

We have the World State now. And Ford s Day celebrations, and Community Sings, and Solidarity
Services (Huxley 52). The new world is called the World State. In the World State there are no parents
everyone is created in a test tube. They are raised in the Central London Hatchery until they can
survive on their own and then they get their job and go into the world. Everyone is conditioned to be
in a certain caste and do certain job. The castes are Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta, or Epsilon. Alphas are
conditioned to be leaders and attractive. Each caste you go down is less attractive and intellectual. The
Epsilon are conditioned to do harshest jobs and are deprived of oxygen as embryos, therefore they are
not very smart. At the hatchery they use hypnopaedic which is sleep teaching, so the children will
learn the morals of the World State. There is no aging in this world, they all take pills to keep them
young and once they reach a certain age they die. In Brave New World, it is seen odd to have real
relationships with people. The people are all very promiscuous, and it is seen odd to be with the same
person for more than a couple weeks. In order for everyone to stay happy, they take a drug called
soma. Soma is a narcotic drug that makes you feel like you are in another

Kate Spade s Trans Politics
Spade has described the critical Trans politics as a strategy that demands the inclusion and legal
recognition aimed at finding a possible transformation of current civil society, social equality and
logics of the state. He has considered it necessary to apply the different norms that are affecting the
human nature in the different institution. As indicated in the book, trans politics will arise from the
feminists, anti resist politics, leftists, gay, and lesbians. Social movements frequently engage in some
formal resistance operations thereby creating a different image from the normal running of the United
States. Education systems that are available in the textbooks and elementary schools give some few
lies about the US politics and laws. According to the basic background of the United States, it was
known to be the sexiest and racist in the world but in the present days, they have entirely changed due
to the changing of different laws. Spade has described the use of racial projects to show the
transformation that was experienced in the United States. Therefore, the social movement has enabled
the categorization of people through their gender, national origin, indignity, and race. According to
Spade, Resistance to the political theories has helped in the fight against the state violence that could
create central harms especially to women, people with disabilities, immigrants and native people. The
rise in the editorial sectors towards updating the available textbooks has

Rudolf Dreikurs Goal Centered Theory
In order for classroom teachers to be considered effective they need to implement well considered and
planned classroom management theories. There is a vast array of alternate theories with various
strengths and weaknesses, and their suitability is highly dependent on the school and classroom
environments, as well as the staffing structure within the school. The most appropriate option for
beginning teachers when choosing an effective classroom management theory is finding one that best
integrates with their own personal teaching philosophy (Lyons, Ford, Slee, 2014, p. 22). The following
is a comparative example of Rudolf Dreikurs Goal Centered Theory, William Glassers Choice Theory,
and Cognitive Behavioural Theory which has contributors ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
By catering to such needs the teacher is bolstering motivation, and producing acceptable behaviour
standards (Weiler, 2004, p. 49). A major short coming for Choice Theory is that it needs to be
implemented school wide to enable students to form a cohesive interpretation of their quality world
(Lyons, Ford, Slee, 2014, p. 26). In addition to this, Choice Theory is not a short term solution to
behaviour and motivation issues, and requires extensive commitment and effort throughout the whole
school in a collaborative approach to improving behaviour management. Which according to Glasser
(Glasser Gough, 1987, p. 659) would require complete restructuring of schools and a level of
understanding of Choice Theory to be developed within the parents and community of the school.
Like GCT, Lyon, Ford and Slee (2014) suggest Choice Theory is not likely to be the most suitable
option for managing students with challenging behavioural

Along with another fifteen calls about someone opening the doors on unlocked vehicles and throwing trash on the seats. We ll send an officer to your house to make a report. Jeremiah and Harold s favorite activity during school was teasing the younger students until they cried and then called them cry babies. Jeremiah stopped to go at Harold s house to go to school with him. Leaving his bike near the front porch, He noticed an envelope partially covered by snow and grabbed it before ringing the doorbell. Look what I found on your porch, Jeremiah said, holding the envelope in his hand. Grabbing it, Harold yelled, Hey Mom, look what we found on our porch. Since his mother, Julie knew about others having their Christmas wishes granted. Grabbing the envelope, sure it contained good news. Tearing it open, Julie removed a typed written message and read it. Merry Christmas, Harold, I received your Christmas list, but I also noticed you and your friend weren t good boys this year. It s not nice to bully your classmates. You should be ashamed. The advice I have for you this Christmas is grow up and change your ways. Instantly, Harold denied any wrongdoing. Angry with her son, Julie decided against talking with him until she had an opportunity to speak with Jeremiah s parents. You boys better get on the road, or you re going to be late for school. While on their way to school, they questioned how Santa would know about them making the children cry. I bet it was Pam, she promised she was going to write him a letter, Jeremiah said. Should we take care of her? We could teach her to keep her big mouth shut. Harold asked, ready to hurt a classmate. No, we better leave her alone until she forgets about it. • 3. The Positive And Negative Aspects Of Hospitalization Healthcare is an issue that affects people all around the world. Many countries have adopted different perspectives on how to solve this problem. Two of the main solutions to the healthcare problem are a free market healthcare system or a national healthcare system. Both of these positions have positive and negative attributes that come into play when they are compared with one another. These systems create an environment where the majority of people receive healthcare but in different ways. Healthcare is something that allows people to use hospitals and other facilities at a reduced cost. This enables people to get check ups and immunizations without paying for the full cost of the visit. In the case where hospitalization occurs healthcare covers a large portion of the costs to stay in the hospital and the procedures that you may undergo while you are in the hospital. Healthcare becomes very important to individuals all around the world with the price of hospitals and other facilities rising. This rise in prices is making it hard for people to get the appropriate care they need without having insurance companies pay for part of the expenses. A national healthcare system, also called universal healthcare, is one where every citizen is provided with some healthcare coverage whether it be from the government or private industries. Some, but not all, of national healthcare systems are single payer healthcare systems. A single payer healthcare system is where one agency, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Yellow journalism was in an era from the 1880 to the 1900 and it featured flashy journalism of that time, which made editors write about invented stories. Which went to big headlines on subjects that weren t true. The two big writers of that time were William Randolph Hearst and Joseph Pulitzer. During the film Kane is depicted as a yellow journalism at different times. One example is when they put out the article Charles Foster Kane Defeated, Fraud At Polls . I guess while he was lying there dieing he thought of his sled rosebud, because of all the good times he had with it, and how he had a family that loved him at one point in his life. There are many unique and innovative techniques used throughout the film. Some were sequencing which are different shots that represent purpose like flashbacks to another time period. Another that was interesting was the use of the newsreel footage. Also the many different angles that were used, and how the lighting and shadows were a big part of the film. The whole film was done through something called sequencing. They started the film at the end of someone life and by the end of the film you know everything. • 5. Women s Responsibility Of Rear The Children And Keep The... Introduction: From the beginning of times it has always been the women s responsibility to rear the children and keep the house tidy, traditional wifely duties. Why? Because kids come from inside of women? Pew Research Center, reports that men spend 4.8 hours a week (in 2011) more with their children than they did in 1965 and six more hours a week (in 2011) on household duties and chores. Women actually spend less time than they did in 1965, a reported fourteen hours less a week in 2011 (USA Today, 2013) .Men and women are learning to work together. Work/life balance is becoming a shared priority which in 1965 was not as women spent most the time in the home. I do find it very interesting that men and women with children both spend about 10 hours less doing leisure activities with kids (USA Today, 2013); I find it interesting only because the number is so much higher than originally thought which suggests that teamwork between husband and wife is beneficial to everyone making better relationships. The percentage of stay at home dads has increased by 3% in 1989 to 7% in 2012 (Pew Research Center, USA Today). Fathers are extremely conflicted today, says Christopher Brown of Cedar Park, Texas, who is executive vice president of the National Fatherhood Initiative, a nonprofit based in Germantown, Md. First off, after analyzing as well as doing more researches on this film, the authorial intent of Angels in America is that Tony Kushner, the author, wants to use the style of epic theater, where there are multiple, overlapping scenes as well as political theater inspired by Brecht, to create this play. Having a style of political theater in this play of Angels in America, Kushner wants the audience to view the characters as having personal identity and sexual orientation responsibility. • 7. Explain The Importance Of A Child Or Young Person-Centred... It is important to safeguard children and young people because no one deserves to be abused whether it be emotional, physical, sexual abuse and no young person deserves to be neglected and we have a duty to protect them from harm. Every child deserves to live in peace and have no harm or abuse come to them. If we protect children from harm they are more likely to grow up into confident members of society. Children with a disability are three times more likely to experience abuse and neglect and it s up to us as practitioners to recognise the signs and symptoms to protect all children. It is important for the children at my workplace to feel safe and protected from any harm or neglect and we show that we support them though these situations. 2.2. Explain the importance of a child or young person centred approach. The importance of young persons centred approach is to understand that every child is different. The framework of Every Child Matters was arranged and set up to support the joining up of services to ensure every child can achieve the five Every Child Matters outcomes. The first radical idea was proposed by Ida B. Wells. She believed that the African American population needs to stand up against the government to show that the lynching and unjust treatment in America is unfair. Wells was famous for her boycotting of the railroads, and she wanted every household to have a gun just in case of emergencies involving the white people. These ideas were very radical for the time period because she wanted people to hurt others first, she famously states, The strong arm of the law must be brought to bear upon lynchers in severe punishment, but this cannot and will not be done unless a healthy public sentiment demands and sustains such action . The appraisal helps identify areas which need to be improved and areas which employees already excel in. Performance appraisal is important to any organisation as this is the optimum way of achieving goals and set objectives by the business. The organisation will have constant supervision of employees and how they are performing, this creates a relationship which can have a positive influence rather than a negative one as the employees will see firsthand what they are doing wrong and will strive to improve. In the organisation these appraisals can be used to determine the weaker and stronger employees, successful organisations today have strong performance appraisals as this allows them to recruit, develop and maintain their employees and keep them at a high standard which allows the organisation to grow. • 17. Genetic Mutation And Its Effects Genetic Mutation in C. elegans and its Affect INTRODUCTION Caenorhabditis elegans (C. elegans) are transparent roundworm, that range about 1mm in length and lack a respiratory and circulatory system. C. elegans is a model organism in genetics, its short life cycle, ease of cultivation, small size, and high cell number and development makes it an easy animal to use in experiments (International Journal of Molecular Science). In this experiment, two strains of worms will be used. Virgin hermaphrodite and him 8 males, which will be the wildtype. Him 8 strain is being use in this experiment because this gene has an increased rate of X chromosomes, giving a forty percent change of producing male and sixty percent chance of hermaphrodite. This will help produce wildtype and mutant genes in the genetic offspring of the two. Hermaphrodites can be distinguishing from the male counterpart because they have wispy threadlike structure for their tail, whereas male have a blunt end tail. (C. elegans as a genetic organism) The tails are a great way in telling the difference between these two mutant strain. When crossing these two strain together, the hypothesis that was made would be that we would find more male mutation of an offspring because the male strain is a more recessive gene trait. Dumpy A with a phenotype of dyp 10, this affects body shape and movement, causing the worm to be half of the normal length but the same width, which causes a stumpy effect. METHODS AND MATERIALS ... He believes the new arts and sciences give the appearance but not the reality of virtue, which he holds to be the true value of civilization. Rousseau seems to indicate that humans in a state of nature were moral and generally good, because in their original simplicity they could not deceive one another. The arts and sciences, then, challenge that basic morality, being created throughout history to disguise our evils. Rousseau then makes a comparison between Athens and Sparta. In other words, globalization is that the world has experienced two great waves of gobalization driven by the free trade policies of major trading countries and falling transportation costs. The first wave was from roughly the down of the Industrial Revolution in the 19 Century to World War I, and the second has run since 1947. International trade and international migration grew substantially during the first wave, but world trade increased even more rapidly during the first 25 years of the World War II wave. Both periods of gobalization faced significant suspicion about the results of globalization for labor conditions. (Globalization and Labor Conditions, Robert J. Flanagan, 2006) Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to compare the international company s workers human rights through the influence of the international trade. Over the past decade, China has been an attractive destination for global corporations due to its low wage rates and labor laws that disallow independent trade unions and limit the right to strike. Recently, Chinese industrial workers have been pushing back, demanding better wages, hours and working conditions. Over a million legal and illegal immigrants take up residence in the United States each year. With the country struggling to support the huge intake of new comers, life in America has been suffering tremendously. The excessive stress put upon the welfare system, overuse of the family reunification laws, and the exploitation of employment based immigration are reasons for immigration reform. The American Government is trying to solve the deep rooted problems of immigration including the 1965 law, Chain immigration, and Latino immigration. Some factors from the past are widely responsible for the present immigration problems in the United States. A major cause for all of the problems is the 1965 Immigration and Nationality Act. The 1965 Immigration law prioritized the relatives of U.S. citizens, while others were not able to settle in U.S. (Salam 24).2 The biased national origin quotas of 1920s was replaced by the 1965 law, which focused on family unification ( Hing 25).4 This Act has kept some restrictions for the immigration from Europe and Asia. The poem is riddled with Biblical allusions, with the snake being its focal point, making extensive comment on the nature and consequences of the aforementioned snake. A dominant reading of the poem outlines the duplicity of the nature of evil and sin and related consequences. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The end of the poem confirms that without the snake that is modern linguistics, we d have to live with the singular of everything , expressively oppressed by the lack of freedom within dated language systems that existed before the Fall of Man. However, there is possible ambivalence within in poem, as the final word is truth with a capital T , a letter previously sidelined along with its association to dated and useless language systems. This may possibly suggest that there is in fact room for pre lapsarian linguistics, but perhaps only within a Biblical context. A resistant reading of the poem uncovers the idea that religion, specifically the Judeo Christian religious tradition, is intrinsically harmful and retrogressive in nature. If the snake is interpreted as a synecdoche for Judaeo Christian religious tradition as a whole, a profoundly negative opinion of such an ideology is formed throughout the poem. Without the snake that is this religion, there would be no pain and suffering . The poem asks, what could bear such a weight , interrogating the conscience of religion, implying guilt on its behalf. For example, some of the changes organizations have had to encounter have been around the following, but are not limited to employee productivity, employee and organizational inefficiency, employee s personal and professional value, and organizational structure to name a few. Furthermore, managerial approaches going back centuries have molded certain expectations people and organizations have of each other. For example, many individuals during the industrial era had an expectation to contribute to his or her household at a young age. The feeling of this type of obligation at times in today s society are seen, but are not as prevalent. • 33. The Impact Of Modern Day Internet On Our Daily Lives Essay HExecutive Summary If we go back to history, two decades ago, people used primitive message boards or emails to talk to one another and a business would communicate via text ads or pop ups on search engine/directory like Yahoo. (Bolman, 2015, Para 4) Then in 1997, two Stanford Ph.D. students invented an algorithm named PageRank. The PageRank calculated the importance of the website based on how often other sites would link to it. Later, with the introduction of Google, the first wave of technology began. This invention put the modern day internet in motion. (Bolman, 2015, Para 5) This essay paper is about the modern day internet and the technological uses in our daily lives. This paper will take a closer look at how we communicate on the internet and discusses about the major network building blocks and their functions, including some vulnerabilities associated with the internet software applications. How we communicate on the internet In 1969, DOD s ARPA (Advanced Research Project Agency) began an effort to develop redundant and survivable strategic communication architecture. (APUS, n.d., Week 1 Lesson) This DOD attempt gave birth to Transmission Control Protocol (TCP)/Internet Protocol (IP). TCP /IP soon found its widespread uses in the web and many networking applications (because they were very reliable and effective). TCP/IP made web enabled devices possible. Runnels, U.S. Coast Guard CPO Academy, Class 234, Team Trent, MKCS Wilson In the U.S. Coast Guard it is required to report to new units every two to five years based on your rate and location. This allows the service and its members the ability to diversify in areas such as gaining new knowledge and leadership techniques. Reporting to a new unit serves as an opportunity to display such techniques and knowledge learned previously. Issues that arise when reporting to a new unit differ in many aspects: unqualified crew, rigorous watch hours extended, and lack of quality training. However; each issue can be solved by utilizing steps from The Five Steps of Exemplary Leadership as learned in Chief Petty Officers Academy. The Five Steps of Exemplary Leadership are: Modeling the Way, Inspire a Shared Vision, Challenging the Process, Enabling Others to Act, and Encouraging the Heart (John Wiley Sons, Inc, 2017). Each has two commitments that should be met to allow behaviors to be exposed. Problems that have occurred in recent weeks have negatively influenced the crew of the United States Coast Guard Cutter (USCGC) Dependable and has set a poor standard that some feel is not held true to the Coast Guard s core values; Honor, Respect, and Devotion to Duty. In Canada for example, the crude birth rate is 11 which is considered low. The crude birth rate is the number of live births per thousand of population per year. When this is compared to the world birth rate it is a little lower. According to the table provided the crude birth rate is a stable indicator. It is stable because it has not changed much in recent years and is pretty even to the region of Canada. Because it is stable, it is also a good environment to live in. In addition to minors, other persons are able to avoid contracts. Mentally impaired and intoxicated people, convicts, and aliens lack the capacity to enter into a contract. It remains a matter of fact, to be determined by reference to the minor s requirements, whether the goods or services are necessaries. It need hardly be pointed out that this creates a good deal of difficulty for the supplier who wishes to rebut the minor s plea of infancy with the pled that what he supplied was a necessary. Although the concept of enforcing the minor s undertaking to pay for necessaries was developed not for the benefit of the tradesman who may trust the infant, but for the benefit of the infant himself, it is to be doubted that many adults are encouraged to deal with the minor solely on account of such elusive tests. The nature of a minor s liability on contracts involving necessaries remains a matter for debate, and the question is whether the liability is strictly contractual or arises in quasi contract. Both views have been espoused in the same case. L.J. said: The plaintiff, when he sues the defendant for goods supplied during infancy, is suing him in contract on the footing that the contract was such as the infant, not withstanding infancy could make. Support for this view is found in Roberts v. • 39. The Best Things About Earning A Passive Income One of the best things about earning a passive income is that there is no skill or knowledge glass ceiling when it comes to doing so. It does not matter if you are a PHD student, a doctor with 20 years of experience, or a person who did not finish high school, anybody can earn a passive income. A good demonstration of this is EBook writing; it may sound daunting at first, but anyone can do it. Experts (job recruiters, psychologists, marriage counselors, dietitians, personal trainers, hypnotists, etc.) Instructors (yoga, piano, etc.) Coaches (sports coach, vocal coach, life coach, business coach, etc.) Teachers (language, cooking, etc.) These are all very diverse professions, each requiring a different skill set, yet anyone in these professions could write a bestselling EBook just based off their experiences. So, as you can see, it does not matter who you are, as long as you are willing to work at it, you can build a very impressive passive income. You do not have to be a professional either. All the above professions went through some form of professional training, but even if you did not, you can still write a great EBook. Some people may get intimidated because their writing is not good, or they do not think anyone will read it; but look, the EBook you write does not have to be the next War and Peace; they simply have to help your potential readership. The key is to focus on a problem or question that your potential readers could have, and to solve that problem ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Age may have sucked the optimism and determination out of the other women on Mango Street as they came to understand their position in life would not change. Furthermore, girls tend to experience more and more pressure to obey gender roles as they approach sexual maturation. Similar to having a major in college, students at magnet schools have their own specialized area that they can take classes in, in addition to basic academic classes. While students have the opportunity to concentrate on their specialized interest, there is a tendency, as a result, for attention to be taken away from other areas, primarily academics. Magnet schools do not always encourage students to stay focused on academics, as the school is designed to promote achievement in other areas.
