No Electronic Theft Act
No Electronic Theft Act (NET) BIS/220 Introduction to Computer Application and Systems April 2,
2013 Copyright infringement has become a serious issue in today s world. Owners of this material
lose money every time an image or any material is used illegally. The Internet has brought about more
opportunities for someone to steal copyrighted material. An Internet user can simply copy and image,
save it, and use it for their own gain while the holder of the copyright of that image gets nothing. This
situation was becoming an issue so in 1997 the United States government enacted the No Electronic
Theft Act to help stop this from occurring. Description of the Act The No Electronic Theft (NET) Act
was enacted on December 16, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If the right click did not work they could screen shot a page, drop it in Photoshop or any editing
program, and snip out the picture. Pictures were not the main culprit however. Music and movies are
big business and people were discovering ways to pirate these without paying for them. Peer sharing
of music and movie files were costing studios, record companies, artists, and actors a large amount of
money. Sharing these files is easy back in the mid 1990s and even easier today. Whether it be via PTP,
e mail, instant messaging, saving to a CD/DVD, or saving to a flash drive it is easy to give someone a
copy of a CD, DVD, or a single song. These advances in technology required something be done to
protect copyright holders from infringement. The Act was established for this reason. Conclusion The
No Electronic Theft Act was put into place to stop copyright infringement on all forms of electronic
media. These infringements cost copyright holders millions of dollars per year. The Act enables
prosecution for infringements even if they are not meant for financial gain. Since inception the Act has
been used to prosecute both people seeking gain and those who were not. The Act was necessary
because of the simplicity of sharing copyrighted materials and people s willingness to do so. The theft
of copyrighted material will likely never end but laws such as NET can help

Reviewing Research Methods Basic Statistics, Entering Data, and Analysis
Research interests are primarily in the area of marketing and k 12 education; however, with everything
that is happening this moment I have not had an opportunity to focus on a specific area nor the topic.
However, if I had to pick an area, it would perhaps be in education as it concerns the development of
new technology and k 12 students ability to read.
Perhaps four variables that would be assessed: a.) new technology developed to monitor and evaluate
students reading ability (e.g., Fast Forward, Star Reader). b.) The alignment and cost to implement
these new and developing technologies. C.) the level of achievement, e.g., grade, or level achieved by
students ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The well formulated hypothesis will provide the vision of where the research may be directed, as well
as the problem, theory, or perhaps just a need to understand something. Moreover, the hypothesis aids
in identifying e.g. objective, abstract concepts, and relationships. Furthermore, the research question
may additionally be referenced as being either deductive or inductive. Although both deductive and
inductive are associative in its use of a hypothesis, the focus is different for both. Below are examples
of a null and an alternative hypothesis.
Null hypothesis
What is the difference in the growth of reading ability when students use technology as opposed to
reading books?
Alternative hypothesis
What component or components that increased the effect of the reading ability?
However, the researcher in this complex situation may find it conducive to use correlation. Correlation
permits the researcher to identify between relative variables within the project of concern. Conducting
an observation, the researcher is able to gather data of greater confidence. The investigator will be

Primo Levi Survival In Auschwitz
An Explanation for the Holocaust Everyone who has taken a history course that goes through the 20th
century knows about the atrocities performed in Nazi Germany; 11 million people exterminated and
countless others put into concentration camps with unimaginable conditions. But most people do not
try to explain how the German soldiers could do these things to other human beings. Primo Levi in his
book Survival in Auschwitz attempts to answer this question. He begins by explaining the physical
and psychological transformation of the prisoners and how that enabled the Germans to see the
prisoners as inhuman and therefore oppress able. Levi believes that the Germans treated the Jewish
prisoners horrendously because of the prisoner s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
What more concrete proof of their victory? (Levi 51)
This view of social dominance and evolutionary superiority is very in line with the views of the Nazi
Party and ordinary Germans. This hate for the Jews starts with Hitler s Ant Jewish propaganda and the
implementation of the Nuremberg laws. In Perish the Jew, Hitler puts his views of racial superiority
into writing, The Aryan regards work as the basis for the maintenance of the national community as
such; the Jew regards work as a means of exploiting other peoples (Hitler 223). With this writing and
other propaganda, Hitler successfully spread a hate for Jewish people across the country. Hitler then
created the Nuremberg Laws, which slowly but successfully stripped the Jews of all their rights and
made them second class citizens in Germany. The Jews slowly became, in the eyes of the German
people and the SS, people who could be consciously oppressed and turned into slave workers.
Obviously nothing justifies the heinous treatment of Jews in concentration camps, but Levi gives us
reasons why he believed the SS were able to treat Jews in this way. He believed that the prisoner s
appearance after a few days, dirty and repugnant, could have been a source of the terrible treatment; it
is much easier to oppress those who look almost inhuman. Levi also believed the treatment was just
another way to prove racial superiority. The ability to completely suppress and

Analysis Of The Book Shiloh
Have you ever stopped to think if society and acceptance was a better life years ago? Would you have
liked to live under the strict rules and guidelines they did in the nineteenth century? The short story,
Shiloh, is written in the 1970 s and is a story about a couple going through changes in their life and
trying to cope after the death of the son, years ago. The settings is in western Kentucky, and the lives
of Norma Jean and Leroy, have been reunited after Leroy has been disabled in a tractor trailer
accident. For the last fifteen years Leroy has been on the road and seldom is home. The story is told
from Leroy s point of view and he quickly realizes he does not know his wife any longer. Norma Jean,
Leroy s wife, undergoes major life changes as she and Leroy work to maintain a normal household.
Gender roles, relationships, and communication are important factors that must be addressed when
any couple enter into an ongoing relationship. In the story Shiloh, it is no different, but what is
different is the acceptance of how these issues are carried out. Gender roles were definitely reversed at
a time when it was not as acceptable. The relationship and communication became non existent.
Shiloh begins with Norma Jean working on her pectoral muscles. Leroy sees her as Wonder Woman.
Wonder Woman is a strong, thin character that Leroy can identify with. Their relationship suffers
incredibly after the accident and Leroy is forced to be home. Leroy loves his wife

The Nigerian And The American Legal Systems
INTRODUCTION
The Nigerian and the American legal systems share a lot of common ground. Having been colonized
by Britain, both countries share a lot of characteristics with the English legal system. Both are
common law legal systems based on English common law both at federal and state levels apart from
the state of Louisiana in the United States that is based on the Napoleonic civil code. Both countries
are constitution based federal republics and have bicameral legislatures consisting of the Senate and
House of Representatives in the United States (Congress) and House of Assembly and House of
Representatives in Nigeria (National Assembly). Despite the fact that Nigeria and America have
similar legal systems, there are still some apparent variations in terms of practice and procedure a key
component of effective dispensation of justice. Essentially, what obstructs quick dispensation of
justice and case management is not the law; rather, it is the practice and procedure.
JURISDICTION OF COURTS
In the English case of Bremer Vulkan Schiffbau und Maschinenfabrik v. South India Shipping
Corporation Ltd, Lord Diplock defined the court s inherent jurisdiction as a general power to control
its own procedure so as to prevent its being used to achieve injustice. Lord Denning finely affirmed,
Whenever a tribunal goes wrong in law, it goes outside the jurisdiction conferred on it and its decision
is void. Jurisdiction is fundamental in every proceeding in a court. If a court

Bus Descriptive Essay
Bus rides are always the worst. You have your loud crowd, then our annoying people, the quiet ones,
and the people that don t want anything except to hurry home, so they sit in the front of the bus. But
for me? I m in the far back, the Cool Kid seat. The seat where when you were younger you d race to
claim. He sat three seats away from me on the opposite side of the bus. He was new. Everyone in
Cascade Locks knows everyone. I was surprised that I didn t know him yet. Little did I know back
then, that he would make an impact on my life. It was around the end of September that I noticed he
rode my bus. He talked to Blake a lot, who I am now friends with. They were clearly becoming best
friends. Blake and I, we didn t talk much last year. He was more of an acquaintance until this year.
Autumn who is one of my good friends and is a sophomore rides the bus with me. We live about 5
minutes apart, in walking distance. While we were sitting on the uncomfortable Grey seats that the bus
provided, talking about this guy she liked. I glanced up at his direction to catch him with his chocolaty
brown eyes gazed at mine. I was flustered. I quickly and nervously looked down at my hands, that laid
in lap. I felt the heat of embarrassment raised up to my cheeks. I wasn t embarrassed, though. I was
more flustered with the thought of this cute, new guy on my bus that was looking at me. I looked up
again, slowly, but not in his direction, but toward my friend Autumn s. Who is that? I asked

Psychosocial Factors That Affect Adolescent s Behavior
Psychosocial Crisis in Adolescents
Adolescence is an interesting stage of development and is the fifth stage of Erikson stages of
development .According to Erikson adolescence is a time of searching for one s own identity and
developing a sense of autonomy. Trying on different selves is a common mental and behavioral
activity of adolescents who are in the process of developing an internally anchored sense of who they
are, rather than defining themselves by what others think or expect of them including their parents
(Erikson, 1968). Many normal and well behaved adolescents can be quite dramatic, impulsive and
egocentric in their behavior, but a depressed adolescent who is impulsive and dramatic can be
dangerous. The three journals reviewed explain the impact of psychosocial factors that affects
adolescent s behavior both on an individual and on a broader societal level, and psychosocial
environmental risk factors for suicide attempts in adolescents. Identity crisis is a necessary turning
point, a crucial moment, when development must move one way or another, marshaling resources of
growth, recovery, and further differentiation (Erikson 1968). In these articles certain factors around the
children that can influence this crisis in a positive or negative way were properly analyzed. Factors
considered were abusive experiences in childhood, which contribute to identity crisis and requires
social support. Parental support was mentioned in all the articles; this shows that

Mostly, bad coordination in a company or organization can decrease its productivity no matter what.
However, for more clarification, I ll give an example. If a person has to market a new mobile phone,
and due to lack of good communication between the employees of different departments, some of the
features were missed and this would cause a bad advertising. The department who is responsible for
money is finance which includes budget. When a lack of coordination happens between finance and
marketing, marketers might end up with an extra which overtake the budget. Finance consider as an
operation like everything around us except the flesh and blood , so by the example I gave here you can
be able to understand how important is to coordinate between operations not only between those two
business functions. For an organization it is not an option; it is something natural. Employees just
have to work together in harmony and they must have good communication skills. (Miriana, 2014:

The Keynesian School Of Economic Thought
1) List three key concepts from the Keynesian School of economic thought: (25 points) At least one
concept must describe the management of aggregate demand. a. The primary concept of the Keynesian
School of economic thought revolved around the management of aggregate demand. The author of
this idea, John Maynard Keynes, believed the economy was fundamentally unable to sustain itself at
full employment. One of his proposed solutions to this was for the government to intervene to increase
aggregate demand. He argued that by investing government funds, the amplitude of the business cycle
could be reduced and would stabilize continued economic growth. Another method of managing
aggregate demand involved taxation. By lowering the taxes on certain goods and raising others, the
government could influence public demand for certain products to fluctuate based on its benefit to the
economy as a whole. b. Another concept of Keynesian thought is that of excessive savings. Mr.
Keynes believed that if savings occurred in excess of the planned investment it would increase the
possibility of a recession or depression. He believed that excessive savings were caused by
discouraging business prospects, over investment in previous years, and a decrease in consumer
demand. The law of supply and demand states simply that as savings increased interest rates would
drop, until there was no longer reason to save; this plunging interest rate would bring the economy in
balance once again. Mr. Keynes

Research Questions On Rheumatoid Arthritis
Positionality and Research Questions
Introduction
Patients diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis present chronic systemic inflammation, contributing to a
variety of symptoms such as pain in joints, muscle cachexia (muscle wasting) and decreased muscular
function, and so reducing their quality of life (Ekdahl and Broman. 1992). Rheumatoid arthritis is
characterized by the systemic inflammation of the synovial membrane of one or more joints and an
abnormally high presence of pro inflammatory cytokines. (Cooney, Law et al. 2011).
It has been recognised that there is a common cycle of chronic inflammation within rheumatic
patients. This is initiated by the production of pro inflammatory cytokines leading to a higher risk of

It is well known that exercise applies physiological stress on systems; for instance on the muscular
and cardiovascular systems, causing long term physiological adaptation if it is occurs persistently over
a period of time. Exercise could be utilized in rheumatic diseases if applied correctly in order to
interrupt the cycle of chronic inflammation by inducing anti inflammatory effects via releasing
cytokines with anti inflammatory properties (Petersen and Pedersen. 2005). In the long term, exercise
can improve muscular function which is diminished in RA due to muscle cachexia. Exercise is also
beneficial to reduce the risk of attaining a comorbidity such as cardiovascular or metabolic diseases
(Benatti and Pedersen. 2014). Research is required on the prescription of exercise and how to apply it
into the lives of patients. Studies are being done in these areas however these are different in terms of
the principles of training (Frequency, Intensity, Duration and Type of exercise). They also differ in the
types of patients used in the studies. Thus further study needs to investigate the optimal prescription,
exercise delivery and assist adherence to training (Cooney, Law et al. 2011).
Methodological Choice
Following this, my proposed research question would be What is the most effective exercise protocol
in order to improve physical capacity and reduce the risk of gaining a comorbidity in patients with
Rheumatoid Arthritis?

Comparing Why The Geese Shrieked And Yentl The Yeshiva Boy
Nobody ever said life is easy. In fact, it s really about proving you can face challenges. This is evident
in Isaac Bashevis Singer s short stories Why the Geese Shrieked and Yentl the Yeshiva Boy . Although
The Mother, Yentl, and Hadass, the female characters of these stories, live in different places during
different times, they all face challenges of gender.
The situations that these characters encounter are quite different, at least on the outside. Mother is a
rationalist and the wife of a mystic rabbi. She suggests that there must be a logical explanation for this
sound because slaughtered geese don t shriek but her husband thinks there must be some supernatural
explanation as to why they are making this noise. As a woman, Mother cannot outwardly express her
disbelief that the reason for these shrieking geese is some sort of mystical source without the
permission of her husband. In contrast, Yentl, the main character of Yentl the Yeshiva Boy, is in love

Essay on Hamlet and Tragedy
Hamlet and Tragedy
Hamlet: A Tragedy When you think of William Shakespeare, Hamlet is the first thing most people
think of, as his work. Hamlet is also a classic example of a tragedy. In all tragedies the hero suffers,
and usually dies at the end. All good pieces of literature written way back when, are usually tragedies.
The most important element is the amount of free will the character has. In every tragedy, the
character must display free will. If every action is controlled by a hero s destiny, then the hero s death
can t be avoided, and in a tragedy the sad part is that it could. Hamlet s death could have been avoided
many times. Hamlet had many ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The tragic hero must possess many good traits, as well as one flaw, which eventually leads to his
downfall. A tragic hero must be brave and noble. Hamlet is the perfect example of the tragic hero.
Hamlet has all the good traits needed to be a tragic hero. He is brave and daring. One example of this
is that when he went to England, he was taking a big risk and knew they were out to kill him. His
loyalty to his father, was the reason he was so angry with Claudius and his Mother. Eric Bentley said
that a Tragedy is dependent on comedy. Comic relief is used in tragedies to change the atmosphere of
the reader, who is constantly focusing on the death and corruption of a tragedy. If a play were full of
the death and sorrow, as in tragedies, it would make the reader very depressed and not like the play.
Some examples of this in Hamlet, are in the Gravedigger Scene, Talking to the Skull and the Throwing
of the book.
Towards the end of the play, there are two scenes in the graveyard. One is when Hamlet picks up a
skull, and the gravedigger tells him that the skull belonged to Yorick, the old king s jester. Hamlet tells
Horatio that he knew Yorick, and then realizes what we all become after we die, dust. He then plays
with the idea of life and death, and describes the finality of it. The gravedigger scene is the tragic
conclusion of the play. The second scene of comedy in this scene is when the gravediggers argue
whether Ophelia should be allowed to be

The Functions of the Veil for Muslims
The Functions of the Veil
The practice of veiling has been a topic of controversy amongst several Muslim and non Muslim
scholars (Ruby, 2006). The new hijab phenomenon originated in Cairo approximately two decades
ago. Although not a common practice in Cairo, by the year 2000 over 80% of women adopted some
form of veiling. The practice of veiling has also been embraced by several other Muslim societies
around the world (Carvalho, 2013). The Western world has associated veiling as a form of oppression,
gender inequality, and has been an object of pity and fear (Bullock, 2007 Haleh, 2008). However,
these stereotypes are not always reflective of the many who do wear it (Bullock, 2007).
Two articles will be critically reviewed. The first article, Islam and Body Politics: Inscribing
(Im)morality, was presented by politics professor Asma Barlas at the Conference on Religion and
Politics in the University of Iceland. This article confronts the beliefs that the world has about Islam,
women and veiling, and criticizes the blasphemy of Islamic religious figure, Prophet Muhammad. The
second article, Meanings of modesty and the hijab amongst Muslim women in Glasgow, Scotland, is

from guerrilleros which referred to Spanish and Portugese irregulars that successfully pushed back

Tip #1: Avoid Alcohol Based Products
The most important rule to remember when it comes to hair care products is to avoid using alcohol
based products. You can find out if a product has alcohol in it by looking at the ingredient list on the
back of any product you are interested in purchasing. Keep your eyes open not just for alcohol, but for

Tilt Your Head Back: Once you get in the shower, get your hair wet first. Tilt your head back in order
to get it wet. Do not flip your head and your hair over; this will cause your extensions to get tangled.
Apply Shampoo In Sections: Instead of scrubbing the shampoo into your hair, carefully apply it to
small sections, working from top to bottom, and gentle rub in the soap. This will help prevent tangles.
Rinse: Finally, rinse the shampoo out of your hair. If any of your extensions got tangled in the process,
just use a wide toothed comb while you are still in the shower to carefully work out any tangles.
Tip #3: Leave In Condition Is Okay
After you shampoo, you can apply leave in conditioner to your hair. Applying leave in conditioner to
your hair every couple of days will keep both your regular hair and your extensions look

A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches, and favor is better than silver or gold (Proverbs
22:1). On January 5th, 2000, I was given the name Lauren Riley Crouch. I already knew a few facts
about my name. I knew that I was named Riley after one of the men on my mother s side of my
family. I knew that there were going to be many different spellings of the name Riley, but I never
knew that there would be over twenty different variations of spellings (Best Little Baby). I was excited
to research what states my names were the most popular, and I was very interested in finding out the
meaning of my names. I was curious about whether there would be any celebrities with my last name,
Crouch. The first steps I took to gather my information ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Telstra Total Return
2.1.1 Return for financial year 2014/15
Total return is obtained by:
Total return = dividend yield + capital gains
the formulas to obtain, dividend yield and capital gains, respectively are as follows:
dividend yield = (interim dividend + final dividend) / initial share price capital gains = (final share
price initial share price) / initial share price
where the initial share prices is the closing value on 1/7/14 and the final share price is the closing
value from 30/6/15. Additionally, tax considerations need to be identified and therefore franking
credits have been added to the dividends, shown in appendix F.

2.1.2 Security market line (SML)
To analyse whether Telstra s stock is correctly valued the capital asset pricing model is used to create a
security market line (SML). Refer to Appendix for calculations used to create this graph.
There are three clear points on the SML diagram shown above; government / risk free bonds expected
return (0, 2.72), telstra s expected return on stock (0.41, 4.0115) and the expected market return (1,
1.58). The SML line is created through connecting the risk free return and the expected return,
creating the slope equal to market risk premium (3.15).
Government bonds are noticeably the least risky type of investment. This is because these bonds have
a fixed return as they are unaffected by what happens in the market (no systematic risk). This is
reflected on the SML graph by a beta of zero, representing no systematic risk, and a low return,
obtained from the 10 year Australian government bond yields, of

Physical Therapy For Injuries
When an injury requires that a person immobilizes the area injured to prevent movement during the
healing process, it can cause muscles to atrophy. Tendons and ligaments also become stiff and affect
the range of motion when the injured area has healed. An orthopedist will often send patients to an
Injury Rehabilitation Clinic to help the patient regain strength and range of motion, under the
supervision of a licensed physical therapist.
Physical therapy is used to reduce chronic pain, and to help restore physical function once an injury
has healed. Therapists will also explain to patients how to avoid further injury in the future. They use
manual therapy such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and hot and cold therapy to relieve swelling

GPSIntroduction : GPS on bike has a market in India
The worldwide market for global positioning system (GPS) navigation and locationbased services has
been growing exponentially and is expected to rise to 13.4 billion Rupees in 2014, with a high
compound annual growth rate. Although still at a nascent stage in India, the GPS navigation market
holds tremendous potential for growth, driven by its increasing acceptance among the younger
generation as well as the exponential growth in popularity in car as well as in bike.
However, unlike developed countries where navigation was established by portable navigation devices
(PNDs), followed by vehicles and then smartphones , India is witnessing a reverse trend, says Rajat
Tandon, director ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The fourth stage of market evolution, decline, is still some distance away from the Indian market. In
this phase vendors should expect that the product itselfwill become invisible, market reach will be
critical, all will need to look at new markets within existing segments. From a consumer perspective it
will become a commodity product, people with new toy syndrome would change devices periodically
and price would be the only factor when taking decisions. The net result would be similar to what the
mobile phone market is undergoing and volumes would be huge.
Companies Like bajaj, Tvs, Yamaha. need to watch for the above phases and evolve their business
plans such that they emerge as leaders. The challenges are many; the customs duties on import of GPS
devices are very high. There is enough market for all players and it is important to encourage
competition as an engine of growth. Overall, I can safely sum up that while the past has been exciting
and we have lived in interesting times , the future is going to be all the more interesting and exciting
than anyone has ever imagined. Several new markets will be created and leaders will be made of
existing companies or born out of new ones in this space. Let us look forward to a huge growth in the
coming years so that we can sit back and smile when it actually does come our way.

Antigone Vs Creon Character Analysis
I think I was born strong willed. That s not the kind of thing you can learn. The advantage is you stick
to what you believe in and rarely get pushed out of what you want to do, Joan Jett, American rock
guitarist, singer, songwriter, producer and occasional actress. This quote could be used to describe the
main character in the story Antigone. This story highlights the true highlight of Antigone s life.
Through out this tragic story, we learn about the true meaning of family and love. Within this story we
learn about both strong minded Antigone and her uncle, Creon. Although this pair of niece and uncle
is alike with blood, they share many differences when it comes down to their personalities. Antigone
and Creon both have different motives ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After reading the story and analyzing each detail, I found that they are not foil characters. Both
characters have used their words to show anger, but when the time came right, they both chose
actions. Antigone buried her brother, while Creon sent for Antigone to be killed. When both realized
that words would not solve their issues, they both chose to act out with their anger. The way that both
of these characters choose to express their anger is similar in many ways. Instead of Creon being
Antigone s foil character, I feel that Ismene is Antigone s foil. While Antigone showed bravery,
empowerment, and power, her sister decided to show that she was weak and she had no capacity to
take her life into her own hands. These two sisters chose to live their lives in different ways. When one
tried to put justice in her families name the other decided to run and hide from an adventure and the
truth. Throughout this story we learn that family and justice is more important than an image one
should maintain. Antigone clearly felt that it did not matter if you lost the respect of all others, these
individuals should not define how you treat those who are extremely close to you. Through my
perspective Antigone shows that the Golden Rule comes to play throughout one s life. Creon made
this law and he had targeted specifically towards his nephew, but if Creon

Questions On Real Estate Essay
A title search will reveal many things about a piece of real estate. It is important that the company or
individual that you use does a complete and thorough evaluation of the property in question.
Ownership The title search will reflect who has a vested interest in the property. This is most likely the
same entity as that shown on the property appraiser s records, however that is not always the case.
This is why it is imperative that you find a knowledgeable individual who will research the public
records and find all parties who have an interest. When previous owners or lien holders either
conveyed their interest(s) out improperly, or simply neglected to get everyone s interests accounted for
when they transferred the property, this creates problems with the title. Sometimes, these interests may
be reflected in individuals who had owned the property several transactions before you purchased it.
Another problem can be created when people die. After an individual is deceased, their will is filed of
record in the state and county (for those in the U.S.) where they lived (are domiciled). This can present
a problem to a searcher who is researching property in another county or state. If they are fortunate,
the attorney who prepared the will knows of all the property owned by their client and will file papers
accordingly to notify all interested persons. This will alert an examiner to research the ownership
further. Encumbrances There are many kinds of encumbrances or

How Branding Influences Consumers Luxury Fashion Choices
When given a choice between a pair of Prada shoes or a pair of Puma shoes, consumers are aware that
both products will provide sufficient comfort and protection to their feet. Yet, when asked in a recent
visual survey, which shoe they would choose to buy, 76% of people chose the Prada brand shoe
(Appendix p. 1). Given that both shoes can achieve the same purpose, one asks why have so many
people chosen that particular brand of shoe over the other? When contemplating the alternative brands
of each shoe, it could be suggested that effective branding has enticed consumers to prefer the Prada
shoe? The following essay will discuss how branding influences consumers luxury fashion choices.
Bain and Company (D Arpizio et al, 2014) state that the market for personal luxury goods has nearly
tripled in the past 20 years (p. 7), with the industry reflecting healthy growth by exceeding €850
billion in 2014 (p. 3). It is evident that luxury consumption is a thriving industry. Despite the fact that
prices of luxury goods has risen over 60 percent in a decade, consumers are still choosing to purchase
such items (Sherman, 2014).
Prada, Chanel and Louis Vuitton are recognized as luxury brand goods (Okonkwo, 2007, pp. 45 47),
yet there is much deliberation about the definition of luxury. Bearden and Etzel (1982, p. 184) define
luxury as something that is more than necessary , Webster states that it is something adding to pleasure
or comfort but not absolutely necessary (2004, p.

Essay on Constantinople s Fall
Diocletian s reforms established the rule of four, called the Tetrarchy, where in four emperors
controlled the newly redistricted Roman Empire. Unbeknownst to Diocletian this particular reform
would be a recipe for civil war. In the year 306, one year after Diocletian abdicated, Constantine I
elevated to imperial rule over the western Empire after the passing of his father and then Augustus;
Constantius. During Constantine s reign he quickly gained popularity and consolidated his power
while the rest of the emperors competed and quarreled amongst each other. Eventually the empire was
overtaken strategically by two emperors Licinius and Constantine. This peace did not last long

Constantinople s evident luxury was not the most surprising aspect of this metropolis, but its ability to
endure was. By medieval standards it was a huge city, with something around 375,000 inhabitants in
1200 (Harris 108). Constantine the Great introduced a new gold coin called the solidus that was made
standard for not only Byzantium but all of the Mediterranean. To keep this infrastructure going, the
tried and true taxation of the people was a necessity. In any instance taxation is a burden but paying
taxes insured circulation of even the most valuable of coins to any ones hand. Value and rarity also
drove policy making in this area of the Mediterranean, so much so that garments and fabrics were
reserved for classes of society and in extreme cases solely to the Byzantines. Concisely
Constantinople and its wealth have sustained due to its prime trade route real estate and its goods, the

The Second World War
Second World War
World War II was one of the greatest struggles humanity has ever seen. This Second World War
caused many lives to be lost, damaged personal properties and was expensive, for a great deal of
money was required to maintain a country s military strength. The numbers for those that have passed,
been wounded or gone missing during the war could never be calculated precisely; though it has been
estimated that more than 55 million lives perished. Many historians have traced the causes of World
War II to the problems left unsolved by the First World War (1914 1918). World War I and the treaties
that ended it also created new political and economic problems. Forceful leaders and dictators in

Many nationalists viewed foreigners and members of minority groups as inferior. Such beliefs helped
nations justify their conquest of other lands and the poor treatment of minorities within their borders.
Nationalism was a chief cause of World War I, and it grew even stronger after that war.
Nationalism went hand in hand with feelings of national displeasure. For instance, many Germans felt
humiliated by their country s defeat in World War I and its harsh treatment under the Treaty of
Versailles. During the 1930 s, they enthusiastically supported an aggressive nationalistic organization
called The Nazi Party. The Nazi Party declared that Germany had a right to become strong again.
Besides Germany nationalism also gained strength in Italy and Japan.
The Peace of Paris established an international organization called The League of Nations to maintain
peace. Each country backed its own interests at the expense of other countries which prevented The
League from working effectively. Therefore only weak countries agreed to submit their disagreements
to The League of Nations for settlement. While strong nations reserved the right to settle their disputes
by threats or force.
The political unrest and poor economic conditions that developed after World War I enabled
dictatorships to arise in several countries. Especially in those countries that lacked a tradition of
democratic government. During the 1920 s and

Atlatl Research Paper
The atlatl is an ancient paleolithic tool used as a lever to lengthen the distance that a dart can be
thrown, compared to using just an arm. But does an atlatl really lengthen how far a dart travels
compared to throwing the dart by hand? Based on accumulated information, the hypothesis was: If an
atlatl is used to throw a dart, then it will lengthen the distance that the dart will travel compared to
throwing it by hand. This is because the atlatl is a lever that acts as another joint of the arm, increasing
both the leverage, force, and energy of a throw. To test this, I created an atlatl using a wooden branch
with a spur sticking out of it, paracord, a rock, tape, a bamboo stick, duct tape, knife, and a saw. I

The Aztecs used the atlatl in war in the fight with the Spanish conquistadors, as well as to fish. The
name atlatl is actually coined from the Aztec word atlatl, meaning water thrower. Though there are
many variations of the atlatl, the basis of it stays the same. It was generally made with 3 major parts:
the handle, the shaft, and the spur. The handle is what was held in the hand, the shaft is between the
handle and spur, and the spur is a slightly inclined point that fits into a small hole at the end of a dart.
The atlatl is known to have other additions to it. For example, a stone weight was sometimes added
which acts as a counterbalance between the atlatl and the dart. It also resists acceleration, which
allows for the dart to store more energy in itself before it pushes off. Some say use of a weight also
lessens the whistling sound that an atlatl can make as it speeds through the air, enabling for a silent

Essay about Specifications of the Kitkat Operating System
The latest released of Android operating systems for mobile devices is version 4.4, codenamed KitKat.
The API version 4.4 (KitKat) comes with revamped home screen and app launcher. It is designed to
run fast, smooth, and responsively on wide range of devices. After three Jelly Bean releases (API 4.1,
4.2, and 4.3), Google has released KitKat with a major revision, adding many new features such as
support for hidden system and status bars, printer support, and lower memory usage. It also has a
number of user level improvements, including a new dialer, a Google infused home screen, and user
interface refinements.
Unlike Jelly Bean and Ice Cream Sandwich, KitKat requires minimum of 512MB RAM. To provide a
smoother processing and increase ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
New to KitKat are a couple new low power sensors Step Detector and Step Counter. These composite
sensors let developers to build applications that can monitor user s steps when they are walking,
running, or climbing stairs. Android 4.4 introduces platform support for hardware sensor batching.
Sensor batching improves efficiency by collecting and delivering the sensor events in batches, rather
than individually. This improves device s power consumption because when the device waits to send
events while they are being batched, the processor remains in a low power idle state.
The new Android API replaces messaging app with Google Hangouts, which is now the default way to
send SMS messages. Google Hangouts Chat and SMS are now handled by the default app and the new
API manages the app s message storage and retrieval. SMS or MMS messages are managed by the
new SMS provider and APIs which define a standardized interaction model.
KitKat comes with a new Immersive mode that can hide the status and system bars in any app, if the
app has this feature enabled. The Immersive mode can provide rich visual experience for users by
allowing content such as photos, videos, maps, books, and games to use all the available pixels on the
screen, without any distraction of status or notification bars. On top of that, Android 4.4 introduces a
new transitions framework, for developing animation and

Sonnet 130 Figurative Language
Inner beauty is a concept that is thought to have been identified in modern times because of
racial, ethnic, and religious segregation in the past centuries. However, very few in the undeveloped
world came to realization that inner beauty is just as valuable as external attraction/beauty. In sonnet
130, William Shakespeare displays the true meaning of attraction for ones lover through imagery and
figurative language. Shakespeare begins the sonnet with a simile My mistress eyes are nothing like the
sun; (130.1). However he seems to insinuate a harsh way of comparing his lovers eyes to the Sun.
Shakespeare implies that there is no blazing fire in his mistress and how they are rather dull. One can
interpret this as a comparison between an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One can infer that the preferable color in a woman s cheeks are red and white. This is because of the
use of the word Dmask d (130.5) Shakespeare s use of dmask d means a pattern of red and white on a
rose meaning an exemplary flower for him. Also, it represents a beautiful color of cheeks. But no such
roses see I in her cheeks; (130.6) is a metaphorical statement because roses in cheeks is physically
impossible but very effortless to visualize because it means the color of one s cheeks(Metaphorically).
Subsequent to this, Shakespeare seems to impose self conflict in himself which is exhibited by I love
to hear her speak, yet well I know, That music hath a far more pleasing sound; (130.9 10) He
expresses his attraction for the first time in the sonnet by saying that he loves to hear her speak.
Admittedly, he is talking about his mistress. However, another side of him (The Conflict) implies That
music hath a far more pleasing sound; This completely contradicts the statement of him loving his
mistress s voice. He fails to include an Onomatopoeia in his sonnet because of the formal tone of

  • 2. No Electronic Theft Act No Electronic Theft Act (NET) BIS/220 Introduction to Computer Application and Systems April 2, 2013 Copyright infringement has become a serious issue in today s world. Owners of this material lose money every time an image or any material is used illegally. The Internet has brought about more opportunities for someone to steal copyrighted material. An Internet user can simply copy and image, save it, and use it for their own gain while the holder of the copyright of that image gets nothing. This situation was becoming an issue so in 1997 the United States government enacted the No Electronic Theft Act to help stop this from occurring. Description of the Act The No Electronic Theft (NET) Act was enacted on December 16, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If the right click did not work they could screen shot a page, drop it in Photoshop or any editing program, and snip out the picture. Pictures were not the main culprit however. Music and movies are big business and people were discovering ways to pirate these without paying for them. Peer sharing of music and movie files were costing studios, record companies, artists, and actors a large amount of money. Sharing these files is easy back in the mid 1990s and even easier today. Whether it be via PTP, e mail, instant messaging, saving to a CD/DVD, or saving to a flash drive it is easy to give someone a copy of a CD, DVD, or a single song. These advances in technology required something be done to protect copyright holders from infringement. The Act was established for this reason. Conclusion The No Electronic Theft Act was put into place to stop copyright infringement on all forms of electronic media. These infringements cost copyright holders millions of dollars per year. The Act enables prosecution for infringements even if they are not meant for financial gain. Since inception the Act has been used to prosecute both people seeking gain and those who were not. The Act was necessary because of the simplicity of sharing copyrighted materials and people s willingness to do so. The theft of copyrighted material will likely never end but laws such as NET can help ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

However, if I had to pick an area, it would perhaps be in education as it concerns the development of new technology and k 12 students ability to read. Perhaps four variables that would be assessed: a.) new technology developed to monitor and evaluate students reading ability (e.g., Fast Forward, Star Reader). b.) Primo Levi Survival In Auschwitz An Explanation for the Holocaust Everyone who has taken a history course that goes through the 20th century knows about the atrocities performed in Nazi Germany; 11 million people exterminated and countless others put into concentration camps with unimaginable conditions. But most people do not try to explain how the German soldiers could do these things to other human beings. Primo Levi in his book Survival in Auschwitz attempts to answer this question. (Levi 51) This view of social dominance and evolutionary superiority is very in line with the views of the Nazi Party and ordinary Germans. This hate for the Jews starts with Hitler s Ant Jewish propaganda and the implementation of the Nuremberg laws. In Perish the Jew, Hitler puts his views of racial superiority into writing, The Aryan regards work as the basis for the maintenance of the national community as such; the Jew regards work as a means of exploiting other peoples (Hitler 223). With this writing and other propaganda, Hitler successfully spread a hate for Jewish people across the country. Hitler then created the Nuremberg Laws, which slowly but successfully stripped the Jews of all their rights and made them second class citizens in Germany. The Jews slowly became, in the eyes of the German people and the SS, people who could be consciously oppressed and turned into slave workers. Obviously nothing justifies the heinous treatment of Jews in concentration camps, but Levi gives us reasons why he believed the SS were able to treat Jews in this way. He believed that the prisoner s appearance after a few days, dirty and repugnant, could have been a source of the terrible treatment; it is much easier to oppress those who look almost inhuman. Levi also believed the treatment was just another way to prove racial superiority. The ability to completely suppress and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 6. The Nigerian And The American Legal Systems INTRODUCTION The Nigerian and the American legal systems share a lot of common ground. Having been colonized by Britain, both countries share a lot of characteristics with the English legal system. Both are common law legal systems based on English common law both at federal and state levels apart from the state of Louisiana in the United States that is based on the Napoleonic civil code. Both countries are constitution based federal republics and have bicameral legislatures consisting of the Senate and House of Representatives in the United States (Congress) and House of Assembly and House of Representatives in Nigeria (National Assembly). Despite the fact that Nigeria and America have similar legal systems, there are still some apparent variations in terms of practice and procedure a key component of effective dispensation of justice. Essentially, what obstructs quick dispensation of justice and case management is not the law; rather, it is the practice and procedure. JURISDICTION OF COURTS In the English case of Bremer Vulkan Schiffbau und Maschinenfabrik v. South India Shipping Corporation Ltd, Lord Diplock defined the court s inherent jurisdiction as a general power to control its own procedure so as to prevent its being used to achieve injustice. Lord Denning finely affirmed, Whenever a tribunal goes wrong in law, it goes outside the jurisdiction conferred on it and its decision is void. • 8. Psychosocial Factors That Affect Adolescent s Behavior Psychosocial Crisis in Adolescents Adolescence is an interesting stage of development and is the fifth stage of Erikson stages of development .According to Erikson adolescence is a time of searching for one s own identity and developing a sense of autonomy. Trying on different selves is a common mental and behavioral activity of adolescents who are in the process of developing an internally anchored sense of who they are, rather than defining themselves by what others think or expect of them including their parents (Erikson, 1968). Many normal and well behaved adolescents can be quite dramatic, impulsive and egocentric in their behavior, but a depressed adolescent who is impulsive and dramatic can be dangerous. The three journals reviewed explain the impact of psychosocial factors that affects adolescent s behavior both on an individual and on a broader societal level, and psychosocial environmental risk factors for suicide attempts in adolescents. Identity crisis is a necessary turning point, a crucial moment, when development must move one way or another, marshaling resources of growth, recovery, and further differentiation (Erikson 1968). In these articles certain factors around the children that can influence this crisis in a positive or negative way were properly analyzed. Factors considered were abusive experiences in childhood, which contribute to identity crisis and requires social support. Parental support was mentioned in all the articles; this shows that ... • 12. The Keynesian School Of Economic Thought 1) List three key concepts from the Keynesian School of economic thought: (25 points) At least one concept must describe the management of aggregate demand. a. The primary concept of the Keynesian School of economic thought revolved around the management of aggregate demand. The author of this idea, John Maynard Keynes, believed the economy was fundamentally unable to sustain itself at full employment. One of his proposed solutions to this was for the government to intervene to increase aggregate demand. He argued that by investing government funds, the amplitude of the business cycle could be reduced and would stabilize continued economic growth. Another method of managing aggregate demand involved taxation. By lowering the taxes on certain goods and raising others, the government could influence public demand for certain products to fluctuate based on its benefit to the economy as a whole. b. Another concept of Keynesian thought is that of excessive savings. Mr. Keynes believed that if savings occurred in excess of the planned investment it would increase the possibility of a recession or depression. He believed that excessive savings were caused by discouraging business prospects, over investment in previous years, and a decrease in consumer demand. The law of supply and demand states simply that as savings increased interest rates would drop, until there was no longer reason to save; this plunging interest rate would bring the economy in balance once again. Rheumatoid arthritis is characterized by the systemic inflammation of the synovial membrane of one or more joints and an abnormally high presence of pro inflammatory cytokines. Exercise could be utilized in rheumatic diseases if applied correctly in order to interrupt the cycle of chronic inflammation by inducing anti inflammatory effects via releasing cytokines with anti inflammatory properties (Petersen and Pedersen. 2005). In the long term, exercise can improve muscular function which is diminished in RA due to muscle cachexia. Exercise is also beneficial to reduce the risk of attaining a comorbidity such as cardiovascular or metabolic diseases (Benatti and Pedersen. 2014). One example of this is that when he went to England, he was taking a big risk and knew they were out to kill him. One is when Hamlet picks up a skull, and the gravedigger tells him that the skull belonged to Yorick, the old king s jester. Hamlet tells Horatio that he knew Yorick, and then realizes what we all become after we die, dust. He then plays with the idea of life and death, and describes the finality of it. The advantage is you stick to what you believe in and rarely get pushed out of what you want to do, Joan Jett, American rock guitarist, singer, songwriter, producer and occasional actress. This quote could be used to describe the main character in the story Antigone. This story highlights the true highlight of Antigone s life. Through out this tragic story, we learn about the true meaning of family and love. Within this story we learn about both strong minded Antigone and her uncle, Creon. Although this pair of niece and uncle is alike with blood, they share many differences when it comes down to their personalities. Antigone and Creon both have different motives ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After reading the story and analyzing each detail, I found that they are not foil characters. Both characters have used their words to show anger, but when the time came right, they both chose actions. Antigone buried her brother, while Creon sent for Antigone to be killed. When both realized that words would not solve their issues, they both chose to act out with their anger. The way that both of these characters choose to express their anger is similar in many ways. Instead of Creon being Antigone s foil character, I feel that Ismene is Antigone s foil. While Antigone showed bravery, empowerment, and power, her sister decided to show that she was weak and she had no capacity to take her life into her own hands. These two sisters chose to live their lives in different ways. When one tried to put justice in her families name the other decided to run and hide from an adventure and the truth. Throughout this story we learn that family and justice is more important than an image one should maintain. Antigone clearly felt that it did not matter if you lost the respect of all others, these individuals should not define how you treat those who are extremely close to you. Through my perspective Antigone shows that the Golden Rule comes to play throughout one s life. Creon made this law and he had targeted specifically towards his nephew, but if Creon ... • 31. Questions On Real Estate Essay A title search will reveal many things about a piece of real estate. It is important that the company or individual that you use does a complete and thorough evaluation of the property in question. Ownership The title search will reflect who has a vested interest in the property. This is most likely the same entity as that shown on the property appraiser s records, however that is not always the case. This is why it is imperative that you find a knowledgeable individual who will research the public records and find all parties who have an interest. When previous owners or lien holders either conveyed their interest(s) out improperly, or simply neglected to get everyone s interests accounted for when they transferred the property, this creates problems with the title. Sometimes, these interests may be reflected in individuals who had owned the property several transactions before you purchased it. Another problem can be created when people die. After an individual is deceased, their will is filed of record in the state and county (for those in the U.S.) where they lived (are domiciled). This can present a problem to a searcher who is researching property in another county or state. If they are fortunate, the attorney who prepared the will knows of all the property owned by their client and will file papers accordingly to notify all interested persons. This will alert an examiner to research the ownership further. Encumbrances There are many kinds of encumbrances or ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

How Branding Influences Consumers Luxury Fashion Choices When given a choice between a pair of Prada shoes or a pair of Puma shoes, consumers are aware that both products will provide sufficient comfort and protection to their feet. Yet, when asked in a recent visual survey, which shoe they would choose to buy, 76% of people chose the Prada brand shoe (Appendix p. 1). Given that both shoes can achieve the same purpose, one asks why have so many people chosen that particular brand of shoe over the other? When contemplating the alternative brands of each shoe, it could be suggested that effective branding has enticed consumers to prefer the Prada shoe? The following essay will discuss how branding influences consumers luxury fashion choices. Bain and Company (D Arpizio et al, 2014) state that the market for personal luxury goods has nearly tripled in the past 20 years (p. 7), with the industry reflecting healthy growth by exceeding €850 billion in 2014 (p. 3). It is evident that luxury consumption is a thriving industry. Despite the fact that prices of luxury goods has risen over 60 percent in a decade, consumers are still choosing to purchase such items (Sherman, 2014). Prada, Chanel and Louis Vuitton are recognized as luxury brand goods (Okonkwo, 2007, pp. 45 47), yet there is much deliberation about the definition of luxury. But does an atlatl really lengthen how far a dart travels compared to throwing the dart by hand? Based on accumulated information, the hypothesis was: If an atlatl is used to throw a dart, then it will lengthen the distance that the dart will travel compared to throwing it by hand. This is because the atlatl is a lever that acts as another joint of the arm, increasing both the leverage, force, and energy of a throw.
