Vietnamese Immigration Research Paper
The Vietnamese immigrants
In the early 19th century, many of the waves of Asian immigrants who came to America found jobs
as day laborers. They frequently worked on cross country railways, a transportation system by rail,
and in the mining industry. According to the data gathered by the Census Bureau in Total Asian
alone ... the estimated number of U.S. residents on July 2013 who were Vietnamese was
approximately more than 1.6 million. America is a nation established by immigrants. Therefore, the
immigrants culture has made a great contribution to the United States culture. After a few months
lived in the United States, I experienced more culture shocks. There were so many cultural
differences in America, the ways of thinking, the ways ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Census Bureau in 2013, most Vietnamese residents immigrated to California (40 percent), and
Texas (12 percent). They regularly live in the community where predominantly Asian residents
reside. These areas include Los Angeles, San Jose, and San Francisco. These three cities have the
most Vietnamese immigrants compared to the rest of California. The Asian immigrants often live
near markets, schools, and small businesses. I have lived in Garden Grove in Los Angeles, home
to the largest Vietnamese immigrants in California, as well as throughout the United States. There
are frequently interesting fairs at Phuoc Loc Tho mall on Bolsa Avenue. I can buy any kind of
Vietnamese food in there. One interesting Vietnamese holiday is the Mid Autumn Festival. It is
organized in the middle of the eighth month in the lunar calendar. While children go around the
streets with their lanterns, adults will prepare moon cakes for their kids. There was also a big
parade along Bolsa Avenue during the Lunar New Year and Mid Autumn Festival. Lively

My Goals For Life
Who am I? Who do I hope to be? What are my goals for life? These were all questions I was asked
in fifth grade during a project. My answer was, when I am older I want to play in the WNBA, own
a big house, and be super rich. Of course, as times have changed I have gotten older my hopes,
dreams, and goals have quite a bit.
Today, when I am asked about who I am and my answers have changed a lot since fifth grade.
Physically, I am a freshman in college. I play women s basketball, and plan to double major in
business administration and sports management. I have strawberry blonde hair, blue eyes, and
stand at five feet and eight inches tall. While all of those aspects make up who I am, they don t
really describe anything about my personality. So, on top of all of those things I am also a hard
worker, passionate, and very self motivated. While these characteristics might be a good start for
college, I hope to accomplish much more.
Let s start with who I hope to be. In the future, my biggest hope is being happy. Now, what I think
would make me happy in the future now, might change, just like it has changed since fifth grade.
So, what I think would make me happy would be having a job as the head of marketing for a
professional sports team, preferably basketball, but I am not picky. Another thing I currently get a
lot of happiness from my family, and someday I hope to have a family of my own to come home
to. To me having a successful career means nothing without having

The Movie No Country For Old Men
The audience of new movies are tired of the same genre over and over. The movie No Country
for Old Men is a combination of crime, drama and thriller. The movie takes place in the 1980s. A
hunter named Llewelyn Moss stumbles upon a drug deal that has gone wrong, and attempts to take
the cash left behind. As he takes the cash, he quickly noticed he is being followed by someone
recovering the cash. Between the sound, cast, setting, and props, the details put into movie make it
a thriller like no other. After watching it, No Country for Old Menwill be a movie worth watching
again and again. Much detail was put into the audio of the movie. Throughout the movie, the
movie producers used little to no background music. Because of this, the sound effects were very
noticeable and intensified the movie. A scene in the beginning of the movie had a dog chasing
Llewelyn. In the beginning of the chase, the dog was quiet because of the amount of distance. But
as the dog closed the distance, the sound of the paws hitting the desert ground get louder. When
Llewelyn and the dog hit the river, the sound of them swimming helps intensify the scene. As they
reach land, the dog jumps onto Llewelyn, and he fires his gun. Right before he fires his gun and
kills the dog, you can hear the dog breathing heavily. This is one prime example how the sound can
improve a thriller movie.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The costumes fit will for the actors and the settings as well. One of the main characters, Josh
Brolin, played as Llewelyn Moss. Throughout the movie, Brolin had a mullet haircut, wore a thick
moustache, and also wore a cowboy hat and boots. The villain throughout the movie was Anton
Chigurh, played by Javier Bardem. In No Country for Old Men , Bardem s character had a bowl
haircut, and his characteristics had a dark sense of humor. The combination of these two actors
playing cat and mouse made it an intense

Examples Of Social Judgment Theory
Heald, J. E. (1991). Social Judgment Theory: Applications to Educational Decision Making.
Educational Administration Quarterly, 27(3), 343 57.
This study (Heald, 1991) uses social judgment theory, a theory that is supposedly nontraditional to
the field of education to improve the ability of school administrators in identifying more accurately
students who are at risk of dropping out of school. The study argues that social judgment theory,
although it is not traditionally utilized in educational decision making, has significant potential in
that area. Particularly, the researchers argue that social judgment theory offers decision makers
(perhaps not just those in educational settings) the opportunity to better understand the nature of
their intuitions, inferences, and biases and the role they play in their judgments (p. 355).
Ex post facto data were collected on 120 students who were 7th graders during the 1985 1986

The Chernobyl Disaster Of 1986 Essay
Sometimes it takes a natural disaster to reveal a social disaster (J.Wallis). A natural disaster can
be an environmental, technological, or human error. A natural disaster reveals a true society for
how they recover from such devastation. The true potential that we have in all of us to come
together and become stronger is astounding. After a disaster occurs, we want to learn what went
wrong, how it went wrong, who was involved, and if there was any rules broking. For that we can
evolve our society to become stronger. There have been many engineering disaster throughout the
world. Some engineering disasters include St. Francis Dam flooding, the Boston molasses disaster,
and the 1970 s DC 10 disasters. However, one of the most memorable disasters has to be the
nuclear reactor explosion in Chernobyl in Soviet Union. The Chernobyl disasterof 1986 is truly one
of the worst engineering disasters that have ever occurred. This explosion is the only level 7 on the
International Nuclear Event Scale and also the worst nuclear powerplant accident to the day. This
disaster occurred due to human error because one of the workers decided to create his rules and not
obey the true procedure.
On April 26 1986, the fourth unit of 4 of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant was to close down for
a schedule maintenance check. During this operation, a test was decided to experiment the
capability of the equipment to establish enough power to operate the reactor core cooling system.

Abstract Business corporations often require summarized pieces of data in the form of pivot
tables for efficient and strategic decision making. However, the use of pivot tables poses certain
data storage problems especially in the light of the need to have the formulas stored with data. This
paper presents one data storage situation where using pivot tables for summarizing data was
unsuitable because the storage was done using a Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet, stored in XLS
format. The project purposes to implement the data storage using a database management system, in
this case, Microsoft Access to address the problem ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This paper implements the solution using Microsoft Access 2007. In this case, the table would
have each Employee with the values such as Al and Clara, the Date with values like 1/05/2011,
and the Status with values o, wh, and wa. This would result in several records per day but each
record would represent only one Employee. With this form of normalization, it is possible and
plain to create the desired pivot table. In fact, pivot tables generated from this normalized data
would be able to answer questions like which employee worked away on a certain day of the
month? Unfortunately, though, this data is stored in a way that the user would not be able to
see or even use it at times. There are many benefits of using a database over spreadsheets for
storing this kind of data. The following is a list of some of these benefits to the sales business
and users: * Database management systems provide for restricted access to * Databases help
reduce or avoid data storage redundancy * Persistent storage of data structures and useful program
objects like queries and reports * Databases help enforce referential and standards * Databases
help in representing sophisticated relationship among vast amounts of data * DBMS provide for
database backup and recovery

However, you should keep two things in mind when using gym chalk. First, gym chalk makes a
huge mess on equipment and on the floor. Prepare to wipe off nearly everything that you touch.
Second, it s very common for gym chalk to be banned in gyms because of the mess that it makes.
If you frequent a gym, check the rules on gym chalk before using it there.
Lifting Straps
Lifting straps do more than reinforce your grip on a barbell. They also allow you to lift more
weight than you would without them. They wrap around your wrists and then they re securely
strapped to the barbell to support the weight while you prepare to lift or as you set it down. While
they do help you lift more, they have also been criticized for weakening grip strength. To combat
this, perform exercises that improve your grip and hand strength.
Weightlifting Belts
A weightlifting belt will keep your motion controlled to prevent strain and injury while
exercising. It restricts your movement in bending forward, keeping strain off of your spine and
prompting you to lift with legs instead of your back. This improved form will not only relieve

Trainor sings of shares the notion he should take you on a date, and not forget flowers every

and Buy buying what you need. Even though Trainor has done the easy part in buying the
groceries and parading around like the perfect wife, she declares she has never learned to cook,
and her man should not expect her to be thinking I ll be home and baking apple pies. Moreover,
he has to treat her like a lady, even when she s acting crazy, because you re never wrong, so why

she will honestly reply with Buy me a ring. Such lyrics support the man will never be right, and
should always apologize even if he knows she is wrong, another inequality depicted through gender
roles.
As expected, it seems Trainor is quite optimistic in sharing the message that everyone is different

The Problems Of American Schools Essay

Problems In American Schools As we delve back into a new year for students and teachers alike
returning to school to continue with the daily life of academics and learning, we all must be
understanding of what exactly we are sending our peers and children back to. It should be no
surprise to most of us that throughout the years we have seen countless upon countless examples
from the news and through others, that our schoolsystem is flawed in some way, shape or form. It
is no longer a coincidence that our students are only achieving 36th from the top in all total
curriculum (Arnett). This is also evident to anyone who may happen to own a T.V. and has been
a viewer to these numerous articles describing these horrible issues we have within schools
firsthand (ABC News). Not only that, but schooling can also be further compromised by politics
and law related issues (Ravitch). What my goal for the essay I am submitting to you is; to give my
opinions on the current situation of public schooling in America, discuss the issues, and back my
points I will be presenting, with concrete evidence I have uncovered in my research. I would like to
make it clear that my stance on the current situation is that there is not only a singular problem with
public education, but a number of issues that inhibit students to learn properly and function as

Interview And Tour Of The Grand Rapids Ele s Place Branch

The Population Served The main population which is served at Ele s Place is children, ages 3

Challenges/Barriers
One thing that kept coming up in our conversation with Kelly was their need for more funding.
They survive completely on donations and receive no state funding. Therefore, Ele s Place as
Kelly put it, runs pretty thin. She said they always need more money for advertising and more
staff so that they can reach more children. Across all four branches of Ele s Place, there are only
51 staff employees. Because of this, they heavily rely on volunteers, which can be a tricky
business. We talked about how it s sometimes hard to keep volunteers accountable and when it
takes on average 25 volunteers to run just one night of programs, it can be very difficult when
volunteers don t show up. She also mentioned that because there are so few employees, they all
have to wear many hats to keep the programs running. Another challenge that Kelly mentioned was
society s ideas about children and grief. She told us that the Ele s Place staff is often confronted
with this idea that children don t really grieve, and if they do, it s only in brief moments and
doesn t require any counseling or services to aid in their recovery. She also noted that there is a
stigma around talking about death in our society. Kelly mentioned a local

via channels they understand because they are imbedded within that asset. Along those same lines
a liaison can potentially provide a direct military force to solve a problem when it is within their
home country. So instead of just providing intelligence support they could also provide operational
support as long as those lines of communication and understanding are in place. Potentially the
most beneficial advantage to cooperation is that of providing a viable cover to mask U.S. actions
or interests as local ones and concealing otherwise apparent U.S. behavior in foreign countries.
There are also disadvantages to foreign intelligence relationships and liaisons which the United
States must maintain a state of vigilance on (Rosenbach and Peritz, 2009). First the U.S. needs to
be aware of the potential for conflicting interests. Relationships with adversaries could potentially
provide them with sensitive information about interests, strategies, plans, or tactics critical to the
U.S. This leads into hostile collection and the fact that liaisons or foreign partners may attempt to
leverage their status in an effort to gain insight into United States intentions and or sources and
methods. So as the U.S. is collecting in a foreign partner s back yard this could tip them off to
sensitive strategies being utilized.
Beyond those disadvantages there is the hurdle that different countries have different standards and
capabilities. An international partner may have less rigorous

The Federal Judicial System
When it comes to legal disputes the courts are the final decider of what the constitution means.
This authority known as judicial review gives the Supreme Court and other federal courts the
authority to interpret the constitution. The structure of the Federal judicial system is divided into
3 different courts, and each court plays a pivotal role in the judicial review. Along with the
Federal judicial system, there are other factors that affect the judicial review. The first structure of
the Federal judicial system is the district courts. There are 91 federal courts of original jurisdiction.

The Supreme Court is the highest court of the American judicial system. The Supreme Court of the
United States spends most of its time on a task, which is not delegated to the Supreme Court by the
Constitution. That task is hearing cases where the constitutionality of a law or regulation is
challenged. The Supreme Court s nine Justices attempt to sort out what is, and what is not
constitutional. The best known power of the Supreme Court is judicial review. Judicial review is
the power of the courts to determine whether acts of congress and executive are in accord with the
U.S. Constitution. This is not technically found within the text of the Constitution itself, but the
court established this doctrine in the case of Marbury v. Madison. In 1803 during Thomas
Jefferson s presidency, the Supreme Court of the U.S. was asked to decide the case of Marbury v.
Madison. The case presented a monumental clash that gave the federal courts the power to
determine the constitutionality of actions by the president and congress. Analyzing all of the legal
and historical ramification, Chief Justice John Marshall devised a solution for deciding the case.
He did this so the other 2 branches would accept the role of the courts and declare them
unconstitutional. He did this by limiting the authority of all three branches, including the judicial
branch. In Marbury v. Madison, the Supreme Court put limits on some of the powers of all 3
branches of government. They also declared the act of congress unconstitutional, limited some of
the president s appointment powers, and diminished some of the court s powers under the judiciary

called chemtrails. Chemtrails are created when a jet engine is releasing hot, humid air into the

quickly condenses into water droplets and then turns into ice crystals. The ice crystals are the lines

Documentation In Childcare
baxterchildcare.com.au Developmental Records and Child Progress Reports: Why Are These

order to bring out the best in the children in their care daily. They need this documentation for a
number of reasons that range from evaluating the efficiency of the centre s teaching methods to
sharing detailed information with the parents about the progress of their children. A childcare

We say tricky since not all children progress at the same rate and at times, some parents become
upset at the thought that their children are behind in development. A skilled educator will be able
to allay the fears of these parents through showing the proper documentation and guide them on
how to help their children through the difficulties they may have in the developmental process.
Evaluating Teaching Methods
When educators in a childcare centre can examine their written documentation on each child, they
are able to realize which methods and programs are a success and the ones that need improvement.
Through this, the centre can offer the best possible programs and teaching methods to fit their
children s needs and circumstances. Without proper record keeping, the centre would have no way
to re examine its actions.
Childcare Centres, Parents and Children Benefit From Documentation
When childcare centres make the appropriate entries into children s developmental records and

operations. Parents receive accurate updates on their children s progress. Children receive the best

Analysis Of Ernest Hemingway s A Farewell Of Arms
World War I, also known as the Great War, was a war of courage, glory, and selflessness. A
Farewell to Arms, written by Ernest Hemingway, is a recollection of his war experiences. The
protagonist, an American Lieutenant named Fredric Henry, struggles to find the middle ground
between his affair with the beautiful and radiant Catherine Barkley and pursuing heroism in the
Great War. The lovers lives are turned upside down once they realize they are infatuated with each
other. Like Lieutenant Henry, when Hemingway was serving at the front, he was wounded, was
decorated by the Italian Government, and spent considerable time in hospitals (nobelprize.org). In
the hospital, Henry grew impatient because he could not immediately walk away from the facility
and his problems. Hemingway uses characterization to develop the people within the story as well
as the underlining motifs of loyalty, love, and masculinity. Lieutenant Fredric Henry traveled to
Italy for the soul purpose of participating in World War I
and touring Italy. His intensions become
less defined when he meets Catherine Barkley. Hemingway draws the reader farther and farther
into the novel with Fredric s thoughts, and the beauty he sees within Catherine. Fredric quickly
becomes involved in playing innocent games with her. Catherine hints at the game, questioning if
Fredric loved her. After he responds with a lie, Catherine catches him off guard by replying, You

Her ability to emote in a song is probably one of her best talents. Her voice is sensual as she sings
on Day Too Soon : Oh, I ve been running all my life/ I ran away, I ran away from good/ Yeah, I ve
been waiting all my life/ You re not a day, you re not a day too soon, (lines 7 10) to a lover that she

her vocals comes in a variety from whisper singing to belts in her higher register. The bridges of
her songs seem to take the responsibility of being the more important sections. She combines using
words with short syllables and ad libs to create amazing harmonies and melodies that make the
song stronger. She also utilizes vocal cracks, which are undesired and are usually looked down on

Antibiotic Overuse Of Antibiotics Research
Imagine getting sick with a bug that should be easily treated, but your doctor has not been able
to prescribe anything to provide relief. Instances like this have become more common in the past
two decades do to the emergence of drug resistant infections. This is not only a problem that the
United States faces but it s a worldwide crisis. In this paper I will address how overuse of
antibiotics has caused an influx of drug resistant infections specifically C Diff and how this
impacts human health worldwide and the efforts to fight against it. Literature searches using the

Artificial Intelligence Advantages
Artificial Intelligence: 1Introduction to Artificial Intelligence 1.1Artificial Intelligence (AI):
Artificial Intelligence, abbreviated as AI, is defined as the intelligence exhibited or shown by the

artificial intelligence refers to the study of intelligent agents . 1.1.1.Artificially Intelligent agents:
Artificially Intelligent agents are the machines that recognize and understand their environment and

made smarter. In case of a breakdown, the cost may be very high. If the control of machines goes in
wrong hands it may cause destruction. As machines cannot think, they can be usedto do the wrong
things or for mass destruction. The intuitive abilities that human possess, the way humans can
judge based on their previous knowledge, the inherent abilities that they have, cannot be replicated
by machines. Also, machines lack common sense. If robots begin to replace humans in every field,
it will eventually lead to unemployment. People will be left to do nothing. So much empty time
may result in destructive use. Machines may not be as efficient as humans in altering their
responses depending on the changing situations as they are programmed to function in a usual
manner. With the heavy application of AI, humans may become overly dependent on machines,

(R) Thalidomide(S) Thalidomide
The molecular formula for thalidomide is C13H10N2O4 and it has a molar mass of 258.23g/mol.
Some of the trade names for thalidomide are thalomid, immunoprin, talidex and talizer. The main
use of thalidomide today is mainly as a treatment for certain cancers and leprosy. Thalidomide
was developed by a German firm called Chemie Grunenthal. It was first developed as an
anticonvulsant drug, but failed to be effective as an anticonvulsant drug. It was also tested as an
antihistamine and anti biotic. Through early trials they discovered it would not be suitable for
this purpose. The drug thalidomide became first marketed as an over the counter drug in 1957
called contergan and was mainly prescribed to pregnant women for morning sickness it was also
given as a drug to calm children. Thalidomide beforehand had however been prescribed as an
antidepressant, it was thought to be effective for both morning sickness and depression. From
the 1st of October in 1957 thalidomide was available over the counter in West Germany. Soon
after the drug became available to buy over the counter between 5000 to 7000 women gave birth
to a child with some sort of defect. The first baby born which was effected by thalidomide was
born on Christmas day in 1956 a baby girl was born with no ears. The woman who gave birth to

Design Of Audit Trails And Data Quality Monitoring Programs
Recommend elements included in the design of audit trails and data quality monitoring programs
Audit trails are a set of guidelines that are developed for purposes of maintaining a record of all
the activities of the system and the application that are done by the system users. Importantly,
audit trails are highly used in the process of detecting any form of security violations in the
system, performance issues, and any flaws in the applications. Some of the key elements of audit
trails include original source documents, transaction history database, and safe storage capabilities.
For purposes of making sure that the healthcare data is safe, there are a number of policies that
have been developed to make audit trials more efficient and effective. In this, some of the policies
that have been developed include the network access for third parties, records managementand
security networked devices. The network access for third parties policy tries to make an
explanation of the conditions under which the third parties accessing the healthcare facilities are
allowed to access the information contained in the database. The records management policy on the
other hand tries to offer an explanation of the records management requirements that may include
the procedures of records retention and disposal. Additionally, he policy of security networked
devices tries to offer an explanation of all the responsibilities that are given to the different data
users in making sure that all

Female Circumcision In Africa
Normally, female circumcision (also known as female genital mutilation) is not the topic of
discussion most people would talk about, but for once it should be. Female circumcision is the
cutting or removal of parts or maybe even all of the female genital region. This can take place
during a wide range starting from when a baby girl is first brought into this world all the way
until puberty. The genital mutilation can be performed by an elderly woman in the village or if
the family is wealthy, the surgery can be done by a professional doctor. After the painful surgery, a
ritual is held to honor the young girl for her rite of passage . According to the World Health

For example, in order for a young woman to inherit land and get married, she had to be
circumcised (Female Genital Mutilation 17). It is believed that being circumcised is a way to
ensure that the girl is pure and stays pure until she is wed off. Africa is mostly male dominant so
it is often times, the man s right to go have his daughter circumcised so when she does become a
wife, she can satisfy the man. This is usually resulted due to the mother s social status as where
she cannot speak out against it. It is very seldom, as well, that a girl will volunteer to have this
done to her due to peer pressure. If one was not circumcised, then she could not be wed and
would be looked down upon by the people in her village. Furthermore, the surgery may be forced

family s reputation, may secretly have the girl circumcised without the mother even knowing.

The Blood Sucking Behavior Of Hirudo
The Blood Sucking Behavior of Hirudo Miguel Soto Professor Folkerts Pepperdine University
23 April 2014 Abstract Hirudo are well known for their blood sucking, fluid feeding behavior.
The purpose of this experiment was to get a better understanding of Hirudo s blood feeding
behavior; more specifically, the study was designed to answer the question: how do different
volumes of blood affect Hirudo s thirst? By soaking a sponge with different volumes of cow
blood and measuring the time it took for the Hirudo to attach to the blood soaked sponge, the
experiment yielded results that help explain whether or not there was a connection between the
amount of blood available to Hirudo for feeding and the time it takes Hirudo to attach to the
blood source. The experiment was conducted using six Hirudo, with a total of ten different
volumes of blood per sponge (ranging from 1mL to 10mL) and two trials done for each volume
of blood. Data collected from the experiment was analyzed with the SPSS program and found
that differences in attachment time for the various levels of blood in the sponge were significant
at the .05 level. These results explain that Hirudo do in fact take significantly less time to attach to
a blood source containing a higher volume of blood. This information can be helpful for medical
practitioners who use Hirudo as an alternative form of medicine. In nature, these results can also

Persuasive Essay On Commitment In Love
You are a man eater, right? You are a fun lay, a good night, but commitment is not for you. You
are fierce independence and unavailability. You prefer your own company because, you annoy
yourself, but when you re alone at least no one else has that power. When did this become who
you are? Did you get hurt? A million times? Just once? Was that too much for your heart made of
tender flesh? What made you this person? Are you afraid? Are you just terrified because you fall in
lovewith someone the instant they do anything that makes your heart drop? To combat the
possible pain, you swear you do not love anyone or anything at all. If you cannot be the person
who does not get heartbroken once a week then you are going to be the person who does not have
a heart to break.
Cold exterior, dark edge, you never let anyone closer than ten feet to you. You maintain your
mystery and posterity by making sure no one ever crosses you. The best way to do that is by
establishing your firm no bull policy early. God knows you are terrified. You want to be the
person with your heart on your sleeve. You would love to be someone who believes in the
sentiment of it is better to have loved and lost than never loved at all but you cannot bring yourself
to do it. You cannot handle the destruction. You cannot bear the weight of having to rebuild
yourself every single time. You cannot carry the cross of your own fragility.
People ask about why you are like this. They ask why you haven t found anyone. You say
something like my standards are just really high. On some level, that is absolutely true. You will
not let just anyone in, if you are going to stop shooting them down before they have a chance, they
really have to be something special. The problem is not that you do not let just anyone in, you just
do not let anyone in.
The scary part about being a damaged heart is that when you meet someone new, your defenses
are at an all time high. Constantly on ready to run, always testing to see if they can handle your
damage. You push away before anyone has a chance to get close. Some make it, though. It takes a
while but you start to believe them when they say they are there to stay. You tell them you are a
storm and they say they love

The existence of God Based on Religious Experience Essay
1. Examine the strengths and weaknesses of the argument for the existence of God based on
religious experience. (18) 2. The argument merely indicates the probability of God and this is of
little value to a religious believer. Discuss. (12)
In contrast to the classical arguments for the existence of God, namely the ontological,
cosmological and teleological arguments, the argument from religious experience doesn t just
entail a set logical of points arriving at a conclusion on a piece of paper, rather it also necessitates
sense based experience, tangible to the individual who experiences the divine.
First and foremost, we must classify the argument from religious experience.

James lists four qualifiers of mystical experiences: ineffability (a state that defies description),
noetic quality (revelations of universal and eternal truths), transiency (a brief but profoundly
important experience) and passivity (a feeling of being taken over by a superior authority).
The father of liberal theology, Schleiermacher, made passivity the most important qualifier. He took
the concept a step further and proposed that the essence of religion is the feeling of absolute
dependence and this approach was supported by scholars such as Rudolf Otto, who defined
religious experience as wholly other .
For Schleiermacher, in particular, and, additionally, the Islamic mystic Al Ghazali, true religion was
completely experiential and it should therefore be felt rather than thought. He believed that logic
destroys religious experience because religious experience is a matter of intuitive knowledge, not
processed knowledge. Intuition is belief, where as logic creates doubts. In many spiritual systems
(religious or independent of religion) the human instinct is held in high regard. It was for this
reason that Iqbal, the late Islamic philosopher of the modern era, disagreed with Al Ghazali.
Religious experience is a very important concept for those who believe that way to know God is
to experience Him. There is a spiritual, mystical dimension to all the world religions in fact, the
Eastern religions rely

police and communicating with the public regarding crimes are necessary for a police
organization to be effective. Furthermore, response times of police are critical when the public
requests their assistance as well as the amount of force and presence of police is critical to be
met only to neutralize the threat and avoid overkill. Similarly, Peel emphasized the manner of an
officer should be that of a quiet and determined rather than a tempered one. As aforementioned,
the presence of an officer can affect a situation as well as how trained and qualified the officer is.
Nonetheless, Peel incorporated an identifying number for each officer as an identity for the
officer and allocated that each police headquarter should be centrally located and easily

and their records reflect their training, history of their performances as an officer, and possibly

The world has experienced economic growth and development over the past years. As a result of
this, some countries experience high growth of mega cities and urbanization in general. Wang et al.
(2009) noted that, migration of the world population into the world cities have almost doubled
since 20th century. The growth of cities has been associated to high living standards and high social
status of the people. Fujita (2012) in his report realized that, the booming urbanization has led to the
growth of most countries GDP.
Even though, there is already massive development in growth of urbanization across the globe, the
growth is projected to continue at a greater rate than before. With the developing countries expected
to experience rising number of megacities. In addition, a greater population is expected to invade the
cities continuously. Moreover, the increasing number of cities has been noted to contribute
tremendously to economic development of host countries. According to Liotta (2012), a booming
political economy within the cities drives the development of developing countries.
However, despite the huge benefits of the growth and development of megacities across the world,
most urbanists and economists have realized that, there is persistent overpopulation and poverty in

San Francisco Gold Rush Analysis
By December 23, 1913, when President Woodrow Wilson signed the Federal Reserve Act into law,
it stood as a classic example of compromise a decentralized central bank that balanced the
competing intrigues of private banks and populist sentiment. Afore the incipient central bank could
commence operations, the Reserve Bank Operating Committee, comprised of Treasury Secretary
William McAdoo, Secretary of Agriculture David Houston, and Comptroller of the Currency John
Skelton Williams, had the arduous task of building a working institution around the bare bones of
the incipient law. In reaction to the Great Despondence, Congress passed the Banking Act of 1933,

The Federal Reserve Act of 1913 called for the establishment of 12 Federal Reserve Banks
throughout the nation in order to engender a more stable and secure financial system. The Gold
Rush, the 1906 Earthquake, San Francisco s natural assets, and financial panics that make the
Great Recession of the 21st century look homogeneous to a blip all of these contributed to San
Francisco s evolution as the top candidate to accommodate as district headquarters. These banks
were vulnerably susceptible to runs or panics, when individuals lost confidence in the bank and
rushed to withdraw their mamba, inundating the amount of mamba that banks kept on hand and
causing chains of bank failures. Isolated from the established banking system in the East, the West
built up its own capital and developed its own network of banks, centered in San Francisco. San
Francisco banks acted as correspondents for banks located in the economic hinterlands, clearing
checks, holding reserves, and negotiating loans and deposits. President Woodrow Wilson signed the
Federal Reserve Act in 1913, engendering a semi centralized banking system, with the activities of
each district grouped around its own Federal Reserve Bank. After the Great Dejection, which was
optically discerned as stemming in part from the diffuse ascendancy within the Federal Reserve
System, the Banking Act of 1935 centralized monetary policy in the Board of Governors and the

Manatee Research Paper
Maya D
Manatee Paper Like elephants, manatees never forget. This means that anything that happens to
none manatee will remain in it s mind for ever. Every day manatees are being injured by people.
They are harmless creatures that rely on us to keep them safe . I believe that manatees need more
protection because they are already endangered and they have no way to fight back.
Last year alone over 15% of the Florida manatee population was killed by a human in a preventable
way (Pittman). These preventable ways include polluting the waters, the use of fishing nets, and the
wrongful usage of motor boats. Manatees have also been on the endangered species list since 1973.
They first made it onto this list because their entire population ... Show more content on

Manatees have been protected by the Florida Manatee Sanctuary Act since 1978 (Spivey). This
act prohibits annoying, molesting, harassing, or disturbing any manatee to be found in or near
the state. It also specifies that anyone who tries to kill, hunt, pursue, or capture a manatee would
have serious repercussions. Even with all these laws there is still a growing number of manatee
deaths throughout the state. When manatees were put on the endangered species list in 1973
they were also put under the protection of the endangered species organization. This
organization has enforced four laws so far to protect manatees from future harm (Swart). This
entitles the manatee population to a number of new laws and requirements put on the state of
Florida to protect them . For manatees this included new speed zones for boats and different
water pollution regulations put into place at all bays where manatees are known to be. These
things caused the number of injured manatees to go down for a few years but since then the
numbers have slowly climbed back up to where they were before. The rules and regulations put in
place by both the state of Florida and the endangered species organization did the trick for a while
but the follow through on most of them was gone away causing them to no longer be of any help to

World War I From A Modern Day Perspective
Looking back on World War I from a modern day perspective depicts a time of hardship and
despair, but from the European viewpoint at the time WWI was a time filled with hope. The early
twentieth century was a time that promoted national development in Europe, this desire motivated
many countries to attempt expansion in order to prove their power. This caused tensions to rise
between conflicting nations, which then produced two competing forces to arise. Each alliance
went into World War I
with the expectation of a quick resolution to the problems at hand but soon
realized that the war would prove to be long and detrimental to a majority of Europe. Preceding
World War I, the desire for national greatness in Europe sparked a rise in nationalism and the desire
for expansion, which could only happen through military force. Public relations campaigns
encouraged military buildup. When critics of the arms race suggested a temporary naval Holiday to
stop British and German building, British officials sent out news releases warning that such a
cutback would throw innumerable men on the pavement. (Hunt 796). This shows that Britain was
attempting to convince their population that they must put money and effort into fortifying their
nation because a war was imminent. This persuasion worked not just in Britain but all across
Europe, nations were pouring money into the military due to their rising level of patriotism and
need for national expansion. The Great War started in 1914

Comparison Of Gatsby And Trimalchio
A reader s understanding of the eponymous central character of F. Scott Fitzgerald s The Great
Gatsby cannot be considered complete until said character is compared to him whose name was
the second choice for the title of the novel: Petronius Trimalchio. Fitzgerald, by comparing
Gatsby and Trimalchio, critiques the excesses of high society in 1920s America, although there
remains a redeeming element in Gatsby not shared by the other bourgeoisie. Both Gatsby and
Trimalchio possess opulent wealth, and each one leverages said wealth in orgiastic parties and
banquets the excess of which shows both Petronius and Fitzgerald s disdain for the decadence
of the plutocrats of their respective eras. Gatsby has his food set up such that spiced baked hams
crowded against salads of harlequin designs and pastry pigs and turkeys bewitched to a dark
gold and his alcohol consists of gins and liquors and . . . cordials so long forgotten that most of
his female guests were too young to know one from another (Fitzgerald 44). Fitzgerald s
description of such a display of wealth may seem admiring, but below the surface lurks a more
negative understanding when seen... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Essay on Our Topic is Forgiveness
Once, a long, long time ago, there was a small kingdom. Inside this kingdom, was the king s
tower, a blacksmith, a market, a farm and a small village. In this village, was a man, who created
plenty of mischief. His name was Andrew. He lived with his family. Deviously, Andrew had
committed many crimes but mostly stealing. One Sunday morning, while the massive church
bells were ringing, he exclaimed, By golly I am so bored like a pickle on Sundays that today I
might just walk into the church and listen to the priest to see what it is liked! He pondered this
for a few seconds, Forget the I might ! He exclaimed, I will! Then he quickly walked out his door
and headed towards the church in this small kingdom. He walked into the church,... Show more

I guess I will never lead a normal life ever again, whispered Andrew. Bye Bye, Andrew tearfully
mumbled, I will miss you. As night fell, Andrew searched for shelter. After a while, he found a
cave and huddled into it. While he caught his breath, he noticed strange glow coming from
deeper inside the cave. Since he was not sleepy, he decided check it out. The tiny glow grew
brighter and brighter and Andrew intrepidly kept advancing forward until he rounded the corner.
Wow! shouted Andrew, jumping back with amazement. It was a golden lamp, which was very
dusty. Andrew was amazed. Andrew walked up to the lamp, picked it up, and rubbed it to clean
the dust off; not knowing what would happen if he rubbed it. Suddenly, steam started rising from
the front of the lamp. Amazingly, pictures started to form in the steam. First, it showed his family,
weeping and crying because Andrew had left. Second, it showed many guards looking for him.
Then a voice behind Andrew declared, Will you return? Yes, replied Andrew, I will. As soon as he
reached the small kingdom he immediately asked everyone for forgiveness, and everyone forgave
him.

Similarities Between Video 5 And Video 7 Essay
There are many similarities and differences within the health care system, specifically when it
comes to Electronic Health Records (EHR) and its privacy. According to the Centers for
Medicare Medicaid Services, an Electronic Health Record is an electronic version of a patient s
medical history, that is maintained by the provider over time, and may include all of the key
administrative clinical data relevant to that person s care under a particular provider, including
demographics, progress notes, problems, medications, vital signs, past medical history,
immunizations, laboratory data and radiology reports (CMS, 2016). In this paper, we will be
comparing and contrasting some of the main similarities and differences found between Video 5
and Video 7. Some of the similarities that will be discussed are the definition of privacyin regards to
Electronic Health Records, methods that would enable more effective privacy for EHRs, the CSA
s 10 privacy principles of PIPEDA, and the responsibility of the health professionals in maintaining
the privacy of personal information.
The two videos that were chosen discuss electronic health records in regards to privacy. There are
some similarities with the content that was presented amongst the two videos. First of all,
according to Abrams Gibson (2013), privacy is the right an individual has over their personal
information in terms of sharing it, who has access and also enables the individual to control what

Evolution Of Residential Group Homes
Residential group homes were developed to house youth who need psychological support,
psychiatric support and behavioral support . The origins of residential group homes can be dated
back to over 100 years ago to the development of orphanages (Fruendlich, Morris, Blair, 2004; Lee
et al., 2008). During the early 1900s there was concern about the institutionalization of youth and
therefore social and legislative reform was put into place to decrease the number of orphanages.
With the closing of the orphanages more group home facilities were created, like residential
placements, wilderness camps, cottages and school based placements (Freundlich, Morris, Blair,
2004). The continuation of the group home development in the 1960 s and 1970 s

What Are The Advantages And Disadvantages Of Rainwater...
INTRODUCTION
It is widely known that water covers up to 70% of our planet s surface. However, we have never

In times of such crisis today, rainwater harvest is indeed a blessing. However, there is no perfect
solution for a reality problem.
Below we are going to highlight some advantage and disadvantages of rainwater harvesting.
Advantage
1.Rain water harvest relieves pressure on other water sources. In a small community such in rural
or mountain area, rainwater supply can co exist with other sources and can act as a supplement to
them. (CEF, 2013)
2.Safe, drinkable reserved rainwater can be the solution when there is a calamity or an outbreak of
safe water. It can help us prevent many diseases and epidemic to spread wide during water crises
due to the use of unclean, contaminated water.
3.Storing excess rain water during rainy season can help reduce the possibility of. Drainage

Penitus Rimor
A long time ago crabs used to walk straight and forward. They lived in an oasis by a desert. They
were happy there, they had all that they needed, food, water, shelter and entertainment in a
paradise. The oasis was sacred to Poseidon, and he blessed them so they would never have any
problems under the oasis boundaries. He did also say that danger lurks out of the perimeters, and
to never go outside at night. The crabs were happy with life and listened to him, because why not?
They had all that they needed so they were peaceful. But one crabwas not happy. His name was

Reflection About My Practicum Experience
This portfolio is reaching its end and it is now time for me to start reflecting about my practicum
period. Last year was a great year and a challenging one as well.
When the practicum period started I was lost, I did not know where to begin and what to do and
it took me time to adapt to the new challenges I faced. Once I sat down and considered my
options I began searching for schools to do the practicum. The city I live in has many
disadvantages as far as education; on the one hand, English is not taught in kindergarten so I ended
up teaching in a Language School during the kindergarten period; on the other, there are not many
qualified English teachers and this resulted on very scarce feedback from the teachers who
observed my lessons.
As time went by, things did not get easier; it took me three months to be accepted in the primary
school because of some issues with the Ministerio de EducaciГіn . Luckily, I did not have such
problems in the secondary school.
This portfolio helped me realize my strengths and weaknesses as a teacher. As regards my
teaching skills is concerned, now that I re read all the lesson plans I made, I can say that I made
some progress. Firstly, I learn to create meaningful and effective contexts. As it can be seen in my
firsts lesson plans contexts always caused me problems. At first I considered that using a course
book was more than enough to create contexts, which is not the case. Course books are helpful

The French Theorist Guy Debord
In 1967, the french theorist Guy Debord, outlined his concept for a future spectacle society,
whereby ..... Quote about capital . Presented as a treatise on the modern humman condition;
Society of the Spectacle is a piece that explores the contemporary effects of power, which it
seems in more recent times are becoming increasingly tied with the idea of a media and
consumer society; a system based off the production and consumption of images, information and
commodities. In the discourse of arhcitecture specifically, it seems Debords predictions have bled
into the culture of modern design, as expressed by Anthony Vidler: Recent proposals and debates
over the architectutural devlopment of ground zero have highlighted the way in which, over the
last two decades, the public role of architecture has been gradually reduced to the symbolic and
the emblematic. Its forms of expresion are no longer closely tied back to urban issues and
physical planning questions. (Toward a theory of the architectural program, antohny vidler, page 1)
These discussions and critiques, indeed, seem to bear out Guy Debords 1964 anticipation of an all
pervading spectacle culture where in essense, we have moved into a system of architecture
overinvested in symbolic form, where flash and bravura win out over contemplation . ( nordic from
on aestehtics and function in architecture page 1. ) , with focus on the factors that contribute to its
aid and the influence they posses. And secondly, if that

Benefits Of The GI Bill
GI Bill: The Servicemen Readjustment Act of 1944
In World War I, the servicemen had postponed benefits that were promised to them. This caused
political turmoil and the response was the Servicemen Readjustment Act of 1944, which is also
known as the GI Bill. This bill provided a range of benefits for the returning World War II veterans.
The GI Bill made a step in the right direction to ensure rightful benefits to the veterans, but did have
faults. The American Legion played an important role in the enactment of the bill. The GI Bill did
not advocate discrimination, but had been interpreted differently for African Americans. The bill
also did not include Merchant Marines, which were carriers and ships that delivered war supplies
to the soldiers. Over the years, adjustments to the GI Bill were made.
The Servicemen Readjustment Act of 1944 was enacted after the soldiers of World War Ihad come
back from the war and had troubles making ends meet. The soldiers had help from government
benefits, but the benefits were not enough to help soldiers transitioning back to the work force.
Congress had stepped in and made the Act of 1924. This Act promised a bonus that was based on
the number of days that were served in the military. However, this bonus was not put into action
until 20 years later, which was too late for struggling soldiers. A group of veterans called the Bonus
Marchers was composed up of 17,000 United States World War I veterans, veterans families, and
other groups that were affiliated with them. The Bonus Marchers marched to the Capitol in
Washington, D.C. and demanded the bonus that they were promised. The government did not
convey and ended up sending out U.S. troops against the WWI veterans under President Hoover s
demands. This movement, putting veterans against soldiers, was a turning point in veterans rights.
President Franklin D. Roosevelt was determined to right the wrong that was done to the veterans.
On June 22, 1944, the GI Bill was signed into law. February 17, 1944 marks the date that the
American Legion began their daily meetings on how to get the GI Bill of Rights passed. Other
veteran affiliated organizations that played a role in the creation of the

Service Quality
Service quality is generally viewed as an overall evaluation of the service provided (Taylor Baker,
1994). It has also been viewed as a multidimensional construct formed from the consumer).
Moreover, empirical studies indicate that consistently providing high quality service may help
hospitality firms increase their number of brand loyal customers (Backs Parks, 2003). It is evident

They regularly live in the community where predominantly Asian residents reside. These areas include Los Angeles, San Jose, and San Francisco. These three cities have the most Vietnamese immigrants compared to the rest of California. The Asian immigrants often live near markets, schools, and small businesses. I have lived in Garden Grove in Los Angeles, home to the largest Vietnamese immigrants in California, as well as throughout the United States. There are frequently interesting fairs at Phuoc Loc Tho mall on Bolsa Avenue. I can buy any kind of Vietnamese food in there. One interesting Vietnamese holiday is the Mid Autumn Festival. It is organized in the middle of the eighth month in the lunar calendar. While children go around the streets with their lanterns, adults will prepare moon cakes for their kids. There was also a big parade along Bolsa Avenue during the Lunar New Year and Mid Autumn Festival. • 3. My Goals For Life Who am I? Who do I hope to be? What are my goals for life? These were all questions I was asked in fifth grade during a project. My answer was, when I am older I want to play in the WNBA, own a big house, and be super rich. Of course, as times have changed I have gotten older my hopes, dreams, and goals have quite a bit. Today, when I am asked about who I am and my answers have changed a lot since fifth grade. Physically, I am a freshman in college. I play women s basketball, and plan to double major in business administration and sports management. I have strawberry blonde hair, blue eyes, and stand at five feet and eight inches tall. While all of those aspects make up who I am, they don t really describe anything about my personality. So, on top of all of those things I am also a hard worker, passionate, and very self motivated. While these characteristics might be a good start for college, I hope to accomplish much more. Let s start with who I hope to be. In the future, my biggest hope is being happy. Now, what I think would make me happy in the future now, might change, just like it has changed since fifth grade. So, what I think would make me happy would be having a job as the head of marketing for a professional sports team, preferably basketball, but I am not picky. Another thing I currently get a lot of happiness from my family, and someday I hope to have a family of my own to come home to. To me having a successful career means nothing without having ... • 4. The Movie No Country For Old Men The audience of new movies are tired of the same genre over and over. The movie No Country for Old Men is a combination of crime, drama and thriller. The movie takes place in the 1980s. A hunter named Llewelyn Moss stumbles upon a drug deal that has gone wrong, and attempts to take the cash left behind. As he takes the cash, he quickly noticed he is being followed by someone recovering the cash. Between the sound, cast, setting, and props, the details put into movie make it a thriller like no other. After watching it, No Country for Old Menwill be a movie worth watching again and again. Much detail was put into the audio of the movie. Throughout the movie, the movie producers used little to no background music. Because of this, the sound effects were very noticeable and intensified the movie. A scene in the beginning of the movie had a dog chasing Llewelyn. In the beginning of the chase, the dog was quiet because of the amount of distance. But as the dog closed the distance, the sound of the paws hitting the desert ground get louder. When Llewelyn and the dog hit the river, the sound of them swimming helps intensify the scene. As they reach land, the dog jumps onto Llewelyn, and he fires his gun. Right before he fires his gun and kills the dog, you can hear the dog breathing heavily. This is one prime example how the sound can improve a thriller movie.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The costumes fit will for the actors and the settings as well. • 5. Examples Of Social Judgment Theory Heald, J. E. (1991). Social Judgment Theory: Applications to Educational Decision Making. Educational Administration Quarterly, 27(3), 343 57. This study (Heald, 1991) uses social judgment theory, a theory that is supposedly nontraditional to the field of education to improve the ability of school administrators in identifying more accurately students who are at risk of dropping out of school. The study argues that social judgment theory, although it is not traditionally utilized in educational decision making, has significant potential in that area. Particularly, the researchers argue that social judgment theory offers decision makers (perhaps not just those in educational settings) the opportunity to better understand the nature of their intuitions, inferences, and biases and the role they play in their judgments (p. 355). A natural disaster reveals a true society for how they recover from such devastation. The true potential that we have in all of us to come together and become stronger is astounding. There are many benefits of using a database over spreadsheets for storing this kind of data. The following is a list of some of these benefits to the sales business and users: * Database management systems provide for restricted access to * Databases help reduce or avoid data storage redundancy * Persistent storage of data structures and useful program objects like queries and reports * Databases help enforce referential and standards * Databases help in representing sophisticated relationship among vast amounts of data * DBMS provide for database backup and recovery Data elements to be involved: entities and attributes This database system will center on capturing employee details with respect to whether ... The boulder fields support Mountain Plum pine, podocarpus lawrencei heathland and provide shelter for Bogong moths which are a vital food source for Burramys. Podocarpus, the characteristic plant of Burramys habitat, is the only conifer in the alpine and subalpine areas of mainland Australia. This habitat suits Burramys in several ways. The rocks and the spaces between them provide shelter, protection from predators and abundant nesting sites. Seeds and fruits from the vegetation and a diverse and abundant invertebrate fauna provide plentiful food resource. According to the research , the alpine and subalpine region from 1200metre to 2228metre above sea level is suitable for these environmental factors.() Due to the fact that Australia has limited alpine and subalpine region, Burramys are distributed in Victoria and New South Wales which seldom states that have alpine and subalpine region in Australia. • 12. The Video Is The Prolongation Of Gender Norms And The... The most problematic aspect of the video is the prolongation of gender norms and the overarching perception that an unmarried woman must constantly be thinking about her future husband and planning out the things he has to do to win her heart. The traditional gender role Trainor sings of shares the notion he should take you on a date, and not forget flowers every anniversary; because if he treats her Like a lady, you ll be the perfect wife/ Buying groceries, and Buy buying what you need. Even though Trainor has done the easy part in buying the groceries and parading around like the perfect wife, she declares she has never learned to cook, and her man should not expect her to be thinking I ll be home and baking apple pies. Moreover, he has to treat her like a lady, even when she s acting crazy, because you re never wrong, so why disagree? Yet he has to do his part in telling the perfect wife, everything s alright, and of course, she will honestly reply with Buy me a ring. Such lyrics support the man will never be right, and should always apologize even if he knows she is wrong, another inequality depicted through gender roles. As expected, it seems Trainor is quite optimistic in sharing the message that everyone is different and should be accepted just the way they are. Though there is controversy surrounding All About That Bass, it is a prime example of Trainor suggesting that bodily figure is one of many things that should be accepted ... Deras Dr. Jide Osikomaiya English 100 8 September 2016 The Most Compelling Problems In American Schools As we delve back into a new year for students and teachers alike returning to school to continue with the daily life of academics and learning, we all must be understanding of what exactly we are sending our peers and children back to. It should be no surprise to most of us that throughout the years we have seen countless upon countless examples from the news and through others, that our schoolsystem is flawed in some way, shape or form. It is no longer a coincidence that our students are only achieving 36th from the top in all total curriculum (Arnett). This is also evident to anyone who may happen to own a T.V. and has been a viewer to these numerous articles describing these horrible issues we have within schools firsthand (ABC News). Not only that, but schooling can also be further compromised by politics and law related issues (Ravitch). What my goal for the essay I am submitting to you is; to give my opinions on the current situation of public schooling in America, discuss the issues, and back my points I will be presenting, with concrete evidence I have uncovered in my research. I would like to make it clear that my stance on the current situation is that there is not only a singular problem with public education, but a number of issues that inhibit students to learn properly and function as productive members of society. Challenges/Barriers One thing that kept coming up in our conversation with Kelly was their need for more funding. They survive completely on donations and receive no state funding. Therefore, Ele s Place as Kelly put it, runs pretty thin. She said they always need more money for advertising and more staff so that they can reach more children. Across all four branches of Ele s Place, there are only 51 staff employees. Because of this, they heavily rely on volunteers, which can be a tricky business. We talked about how it s sometimes hard to keep volunteers accountable and when it takes on average 25 volunteers to run just one night of programs, it can be very difficult when volunteers don t show up. She also mentioned that because there are so few employees, they all have to wear many hats to keep the programs running. Another challenge that Kelly mentioned was society s ideas about children and grief. She told us that the Ele s Place staff is often confronted with this idea that children don t really grieve, and if they do, it s only in brief moments and doesn t require any counseling or services to aid in their recovery. She also noted that there is a stigma around talking about death in our society. Kelly mentioned a local ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Along those same lines a liaison can potentially provide a direct military force to solve a problem when it is within their home country. So instead of just providing intelligence support they could also provide operational support as long as those lines of communication and understanding are in place. Potentially the most beneficial advantage to cooperation is that of providing a viable cover to mask U.S. actions or interests as local ones and concealing otherwise apparent U.S. behavior in foreign countries. There are also disadvantages to foreign intelligence relationships and liaisons which the United States must maintain a state of vigilance on (Rosenbach and Peritz, 2009). First the U.S. needs to be aware of the potential for conflicting interests. Relationships with adversaries could potentially provide them with sensitive information about interests, strategies, plans, or tactics critical to the U.S. This leads into hostile collection and the fact that liaisons or foreign partners may attempt to leverage their status in an effort to gain insight into United States intentions and or sources and methods. So as the U.S. is collecting in a foreign partner s back yard this could tip them off to sensitive strategies being utilized. The Supreme Court s nine Justices attempt to sort out what is, and what is not constitutional. The best known power of the Supreme Court is judicial review. Judicial review is the power of the courts to determine whether acts of congress and executive are in accord with the U.S. Constitution. This is not technically found within the text of the Constitution itself, but the court established this doctrine in the case of Marbury v. Madison. In 1803 during Thomas Jefferson s presidency, the Supreme Court of the U.S. was asked to decide the case of Marbury v. Madison. The case presented a monumental clash that gave the federal courts the power to determine the constitutionality of actions by the president and congress. Analyzing all of the legal and historical ramification, Chief Justice John Marshall devised a solution for deciding the case. He did this so the other 2 branches would accept the role of the courts and declare them unconstitutional. He did this by limiting the authority of all three branches, including the judicial branch. In Marbury v. Madison, the Supreme Court put limits on some of the powers of all 3 branches of government. By soaking a sponge with different volumes of cow blood and measuring the time it took for the Hirudo to attach to the blood soaked sponge, the experiment yielded results that help explain whether or not there was a connection between the amount of blood available to Hirudo for feeding and the time it takes Hirudo to attach to the blood source. The father of liberal theology, Schleiermacher, made passivity the most important qualifier. He took the concept a step further and proposed that the essence of religion is the feeling of absolute dependence and this approach was supported by scholars such as Rudolf Otto, who defined religious experience as wholly other . For Schleiermacher, in particular, and, additionally, the Islamic mystic Al Ghazali, true religion was completely experiential and it should therefore be felt rather than thought. He believed that logic destroys religious experience because religious experience is a matter of intuitive knowledge, not processed knowledge. Intuition is belief, where as logic creates doubts. In many spiritual systems (religious or independent of religion) the human instinct is held in high regard. It was for this reason that Iqbal, the late Islamic philosopher of the modern era, disagreed with Al Ghazali. Religious experience is a very important concept for those who believe that way to know God is to experience Him. Furthermore, response times of police are critical when the public requests their assistance as well as the amount of force and presence of police is critical to be met only to neutralize the threat and avoid overkill. Similarly, Peel emphasized the manner of an officer should be that of a quiet and determined rather than a tempered one. As aforementioned, the presence of an officer can affect a situation as well as how trained and qualified the officer is. Nonetheless, Peel incorporated an identifying number for each officer as an identity for the officer and allocated that each police headquarter should be centrally located and easily accessible to the public. Peel further detailed that officers should undergo a probationary period and their records reflect their training, history of their performances as an officer, and possibly holds each officer accountable for all of their actions (Doerner, 2016). Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Federal Reserve Act of 1913 called for the establishment of 12 Federal Reserve Banks throughout the nation in order to engender a more stable and secure financial system. The Gold Rush, the 1906 Earthquake, San Francisco s natural assets, and financial panics that make the Great Recession of the 21st century look homogeneous to a blip all of these contributed to San Francisco s evolution as the top candidate to accommodate as district headquarters. These banks were vulnerably susceptible to runs or panics, when individuals lost confidence in the bank and rushed to withdraw their mamba, inundating the amount of mamba that banks kept on hand and causing chains of bank failures. Isolated from the established banking system in the East, the West built up its own capital and developed its own network of banks, centered in San Francisco. San Francisco banks acted as correspondents for banks located in the economic hinterlands, clearing checks, holding reserves, and negotiating loans and deposits. President Woodrow Wilson signed the Federal Reserve Act in 1913, engendering a semi centralized banking system, with the activities of each district grouped around its own Federal Reserve Bank. After the Great Dejection, which was optically discerned as stemming in part from the diffuse ascendancy within the Federal Reserve System, the Banking Act of 1935 centralized monetary policy in the Board of Governors and the incipient Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC), with its 12 members, consisting of the Board of Governors, the president of the Incipient York Victualed, and a rotating group of four Reserve Bank presidents. the Federal Reserve s duties fall into four general areas: conducting the nation s monetary policy by influencing the monetary and credit conditions in the economy in pursuit of maximum employment, stable ... World War I From A Modern Day Perspective Looking back on World War I from a modern day perspective depicts a time of hardship and despair, but from the European viewpoint at the time WWI was a time filled with hope. The early twentieth century was a time that promoted national development in Europe, this desire motivated many countries to attempt expansion in order to prove their power. This caused tensions to rise between conflicting nations, which then produced two competing forces to arise. Each alliance went into World War I with the expectation of a quick resolution to the problems at hand but soon realized that the war would prove to be long and detrimental to a majority of Europe. Preceding World War I, the desire for national greatness in Europe sparked a rise in nationalism and the desire for expansion, which could only happen through military force. Public relations campaigns encouraged military buildup. When critics of the arms race suggested a temporary naval Holiday to stop British and German building, British officials sent out news releases warning that such a cutback would throw innumerable men on the pavement. (Hunt 796). This shows that Britain was attempting to convince their population that they must put money and effort into fortifying their nation because a war was imminent. This persuasion worked not just in Britain but all across Europe, nations were pouring money into the military due to their rising level of patriotism and need for national expansion. Both Gatsby and Trimalchio possess opulent wealth, and each one leverages said wealth in orgiastic parties and banquets the excess of which shows both Petronius and Fitzgerald s disdain for the decadence of the plutocrats of their respective eras. Gatsby has his food set up such that spiced baked hams crowded against salads of harlequin designs and pastry pigs and turkeys bewitched to a dark gold and his alcohol consists of gins and liquors and . . . cordials so long forgotten that most of his female guests were too young to know one from another (Fitzgerald 44). This caused political turmoil and the response was the Servicemen Readjustment Act of 1944, which is also known as the GI Bill. This bill provided a range of benefits for the returning World War II veterans. The GI Bill made a step in the right direction to ensure rightful benefits to the veterans, but did have faults. The American Legion played an important role in the enactment of the bill. The GI Bill did not advocate discrimination, but had been interpreted differently for African Americans. The bill also did not include Merchant Marines, which were carriers and ships that delivered war supplies to the soldiers. Over the years, adjustments to the GI Bill were made. The Servicemen Readjustment Act of 1944 was enacted after the soldiers of World War Ihad come back from the war and had troubles making ends meet. The soldiers had help from government benefits, but the benefits were not enough to help soldiers transitioning back to the work force. Congress had stepped in and made the Act of 1924. This Act promised a bonus that was based on the number of days that were served in the military. However, this bonus was not put into action until 20 years later, which was too late for struggling soldiers. A group of veterans called the Bonus Marchers was composed up of 17,000 United States World War I veterans, veterans families, and other groups that were affiliated with them.
