Reasoning Effect On Psychiatry
Recently, I was intrigued to take in more about the impact of reasoning on psychiatry. Since
psychiatry is a branch of medicine in which thus is a branch of science I contemplated that the theory
of science would be a sensible beginning stage. Obviously, for all intents and purposes there are
numerous different impacts on psychiatry other than science alone. However, I would view this as an
imperative part of the center of psychiatry. There are various branches of science that are essential for
psychiatry and this further adds to the potential formal of a comprehension of the rationality of
science. My underlying and easygoing request drove me to Against Method by Paul Feyerabend. After
perusing this, I was moved to compose a reaction and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Reflection Of Popular Culture
American Popular Culture music, movie, painting, and clothing is seemingly a superficial topic, but is
actually the reflection of the social values and even political inclination that prevailed in the society of
that era. From the pious and strict Puritan colonial culture in 1600 s to the hippies and Rock n Roll in
1970s, American culture did go through massive changes along with the transformations in racial and
gender equality, social ideals, politics, and America s role in the world. In the project, our group
divided American history into roughly three periods of time, in each of which we researched about the
content of popular culture as well as analyzed the causes of the these cultural phenomenon and their
development. Lilian is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At the beginning, in order to reasonably divide the whole history into three periods, we logged into
Library Genesis and downloaded papers including A History of Popular Culture: More of Everything,
Faster and Brighter and Prosthetic memory: The transformation of American remembrance in the age
of mass culture . With these materials and our background knowledge of U.S. history, we roughly
chose two turning points: Civil War, Great Depression. Our criteria for dividing the periods was that
each period should have unique and distinguished characteristics, and the popular culture in the era
was a reflection of politics, economics, religion, or America s role in the world. Civil War is not only
the turning point for African Americans, but also a signpost for human rights in America. Prior to Civil
War, main stream culture came from whites. After Civil War, African Americans started to be more
involved in the society, stimulated more racial integration, and added to the culture diversity in U.S..

Exploring the Role of Women in Mexico in Like Water For...
Like Water For Chocolate by Laura Esquivel explains women s roles in northern Mexico during the
turn of the nineteenth century. The novel takes place in northern Mexico on a family ranch where
many family traditions are carried out. Also, the novel describes some of the typical foods that were
prepared and fiestas that were celebrated in the Mexican culture around this time. However, the novel
mainly focuses on the roles of females in Mexican society at that time. The novel goes beyond
explaining women s roles and also explains what took place in the Mexican family. Throughout the
novel, readers learn the role of mothers, the conflict between personal desires and tradition, and
typical foods, celebrations, and family traditions that were ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I thought what a wonderful way to tell a story (Mujica 38). The reader is often present in the kitchen
with Esquivel when she writes about her past experiences in the kitchen.
At the time Like Water for Chocolate takes place, the Mexican Revolution rages on. The book takes
place during the turn of the nineteenth century, which leads to many other events in the story. The
Mexican Revolution took place from 1910 to 1920, and brought many changes to the Mexican culture.
In the novel, the reader can see that Gertrudis was one of the many women who participated in the
Mexican Revolution, and worked her way up to being a general in the movement. Women that
participated in the Mexican Revolution were sometimes found fighting beside the men, which was not
something that many women did during that time. Also, during the time of the Mexican Revolution,
the soldiers treated many women and young females poorly. Esquivel tells how many women were
mistreated, A group of bandits attacked the ranch. They raped Chencha. Mama Elena, trying to defend
her honor, suffered a strong blow to her spine and was left a paraplegic, paralyzed from the waist
down (Esquivel 129). These events are described vividly from her first person perspective to better
understand the situations that took place during the time that the Revolution was raging on.

Biography Of John Hinckley Jr.
There is only one time when history is not historic, and that is when it is being made. President Ronald
Reagan had only been in office for 70 days and nobody had a taste of what the former Hollywood
actor would be. Not one person thought that his presidency would almost not make it to day 71. John
Hinckley Jr. took six shots a President Reagan on that seventieth day in an attempted assassination.
Luckily the President was able to survive the ordeal. Hinckley had an overwhelming and somewhat
pathological need to become famous. In high school, Hinckley soon lost interest in the sports he
played as well as the few friends that he had (The Biography.com, John Hinckley Jr. Biography ). He
preferred to play his guitar and listen to music all alone in his room. Soon after his graduation from
high school, Hinckley went to Texas Tech for college. Hinckley was dissatisfied with his decision to
attend college and wished to move to California to become a songwriter.
While in Hollywood, Hinckley first viewed the 1976 film Taxi Driver, which gave dramatic meaning
to his miserable and depressed state of life. Hinckley became obsessed with this film watching it over
15 times in a few years. Robert DeNiro portrays a psychotic taxi driver who thinks about political
assassination throughout the film and also rescues a vulnerable female prostitute names Iris who was
played by Jodie Foster (The Biography.com, John Hinckley Jr. Biography ). When watching the
movie, it gave Hinckley ideas of

Boston Massacre Analysis
The British Side of the Boston Massacre
Mykenzie Cotiaux
Between the hours of nine and ten o clock, being in my master s house, was alarmed by the cry of fire,
I ran down as far as the town house, and then heard that the soldiers and the inhabitants were fighting
in the alley... I then left them and went to King street. I then saw a party of soldiers loading their
muskets about the Custom house door, after which they all shouldered. I heard some of the inhabitants
cry out, heave no snow balls , others cried they dare not fire . The Boston massacre has been no

The Boston massacre was played out to be such a big thing, although it was a misunderstanding. It
was the colonists who were asking for there to be trouble. If the colonists were not throwing things
and beating the British then the gun would have never gone off. The colonists were protesting against
someone who was not doing anything wrong. Why were the colonists protesting something that we
still have today? Before the colonists were threatening the British the British was just doing their jobs.
The colonists were the ones threatening the British so why were the British put in jail for it? In

The Rate Of Imprisonment Of Aboriginal And Torres Strait...
Introduction The rate of imprisonment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians has
dramatically increased since 1992. Statistics went from 1 in 7 prisoners in 1992 to 1 in 4 in 2012 and
to almost 1 in 3 in 2014. There have been an abundance of proposals, plans and programs established,
some of which have failed and some which are still in development, to try decrease the high numbers.
The high incarceration rate of Indigenous people in Australia is considered to be a global issue that
must be addressed. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander prison rates The increased severity in the
criminal justice system towards Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people is claimed to be the cause
for the increasing incarceration rates. Research shows that the majority of Australian prisons have a
high Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander population, since 1989, the imprisonment rates of
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people has increased 12 times faster than the rate of non
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. This shows that there has been major overrepresentation
of Indigenous people in Australia in prisons. FIGURE 1 As seen in figure 1, Indigenous people
represent 17% of the prison population on average. In Western Australia and Northern Territory it is
particularly high with there being 43% and 84% of Indigenous people in prison. However, as shown

Essay on Sex in Ursula K. LeGuin s The Left Hand of Darkness
Let s Talk About Sex
Ursula K. LeGuin s The Left Hand of Darkness is the story of Genly Ai s travels to a strange planet
called Gethen, or Winter. His mission there is to persuade the nations of Gethen to join an alliance
Genly Ai represents called the Ekumen . However, his journey is rather difficult due to the great
difference in societies from Genly Ai s home planet, Earth, and this new one. In Gethen, he learns that
the people are completely unsexed for the majority of their days. When they are sexed, it is only for a
few days and each person is either male or female during this time. The different governments use
Genly Ai as a pawn, but in the end they join the alliance. Unfortunately, it comes with the price of his
friend s life. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
LeGuin does this to reinforce the notion that Genly Ai is completely unassimilated to Gethen culture.
She does this by having Genly Ai describe him as a woman, but calling him by the male title King
where LeGuin could have had Genly Ai call Argaven monarch , a sexless title that still holds as much
accuracy. The best show of Genly Ai s awkward understanding of sex in this manner is, perhaps, when
LeGuin has Genly Ai describe the owner of his apartment building when he says, I though of him as
my landlady, for he has a fat buttocks that wagged as he walked, and a soft fat face, and a prying,
spying, ignoble, kindly nature (48). LeGuin has Genly Ai describe his landowner as a woman simply
because of some of his physical features. LeGuin, using adjectives that describe exclusively females,
has shown that Genly Ai is completely unable to assimilate to Gethen by giving up his perceptions of
people and their sex.
As the novel progresses, LeGuin has Genly Ai s descriptions become a little less sexed to show him
adjusting to Gethen s sexual culture. Later in the novel, LeGuin has Genly Ai meet a character named
Faxe, she has him describe Faxe as having one of the most beautiful human faces [he] ever saw (68).
Here, LeGuin uses the absence of sexed description to show that Genly Ai has adjusted to the
Gethenian culture. Then, when LeGuin has Genly Ai discuss the issue of parenting he simply states,
that the distinction between a maternal and a paternal instinct is

Did The Nazis Destroy Artifacts
Did the nazis destroy ancient sights and or artifacts?
Yes, they did. The destruction of monuments, artwork, etc. by the Nazis took two different forms.
Either they were doing it to humiliate/culturally destroy an occupied people, or they were destroying
German monuments/artwork/etc. to prevent them from falling into enemy hands. Its also worth noting
that the Nazis destroyed art works and cultural monuments that felt they were dangerous/subversive/or
degenerate; so works from Jews, works depicting nudity, not properly playing up to Aryan ideals
could all be destroyed by the Nazis; but that was mostly related to artwork and music.
In occupied Poland, Polish musicians and artists were suppressed; as well Polish monuments were
destroyed, such as the famous Polish monument to poet Adam Mickiewicz in Krakow. Here is a

example being the Schloss Immendorf castle, which was burned by the SS in 1945.

Pueblo Revolt Research Paper
The Pueblo Revolt of 1680 is an important event in U.S. history having been the first complete victory
for Native Americans against any European nation. One of the major conflicts between the Pueblo
Indians and the Spanish colonists was their different religions. Many historians believe that the Pueblo
Indians revolted against the Spanish in order to eliminate Catholicism because it was threatening their
own beliefs. Many Spanish officials interpret the Pueblo Revolt as being unnecessary and guided by
the devil. The continuing study of this historical event will allow current Pueblo villages to learn about
their ancestors history and the major role religion had on the revolt. Further consequences of the

Many of those documents, however, were destroyed during the Pueblo Revolt when the natives burned
down government buildings and records. However, previously to the Pueblo Revolt, Spanish
government officials had sent out reports which shed a light on the relations between Spaniards and
Pueblo Indians prior to the revolt. With new understanding of popular Indian beliefs, historians are
now able to adjust the one sided interpretations that European nations developed when documenting
their relationship with the natives. Historians who are well informed of popular Indian beliefs, have
interpreted the Pueblo Revolt was an act to reject Catholicism because it was threatening their own
culture. The Pueblo Revolt was an attempt to preserve the kind of life which they thought the gods had
ordained and which aliens were obviously destroying (Weber, 1999, p. 227). The Pueblo Indians
feared that the Spanish colonist would destroy all aspects of their religion, like sacred texts and
structures, which were indispensable and would be essential for the survival of their Pueblo

easily available in that situation the bargaining power of suppliers is high. 5. Threat of New Entrants:
It relates to the entry barriers to the New Entrants. When there are strict government rules regulations

Why Did The Anasazi Disappear
One of the first groups of people to dwell in North America were the Ancestral Puebloans also known
as the Anasazi. They were a tribe that lived in the Four Corners region which we know today as Mesa
Verde. They lived there for hundreds of years and did very well but eventually something drove them
out to leave their homes. There are many possible and unknown reasons why the Anasazi disappeared
from their cliff dwellings and what remains of them to this day in Pueblo Colorado. Drought and crop
failures, and the over use of land and its resources such as soils, forests, and animals that became
depleted are the main reasonings for their disappearance. This made them move on to look for new
opportunities somewhere else (National Park Service ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There were times of shortened cropping seasons but that it was never anything so bad that one would
have to move away. In fact, shortly after the Anasazi left there is now proof that there was a lot of
wetness and rain that happened right after but they still chose not to come back. Some archaeologists
studied that there was violence that started to go on in the village which drove the people out. But
among all of the different reasonings Johnson made one thing clear in stating that the Pueblo people
didn t just dry up and blow away like so much parched corn. They restructured their societies, tried to
adapt and when all else failed they moved on (2008, 1). There are many different archaeologists who
are still studying the abandonment of the Anasazi people and arguing the reasons why they left. Even
Keith Kloor stated in the Insider: Who were the Anasazi? the whole thing is a controversial claim to an
ancient legacy. He goes on to discuss how it wasn t just the Anasazi at the cliff dwellings in Mesa
Verde Colorado that abandoned their home there, but it also happened to the Anasazi people in
northwestern New Mexico in Chaco Canyon, another ancient site (2009,

How Workplace Is An Essential Part Of Professional Life
Modern workplace is a specific and highly changeable sphere where the interests of employees and

become an important part of any organizations life, especially during the last decades, when people

II. History of Management and Workplace Learning. Theories and Concepts. Although a great number
of managerial practices have been used through the centuries of human development, they were rarely
investigated and conceptualized. However, it is clear that such important organizations as the Church
or the ancient armies were based on particular practices and concepts. The history of management

of the businesses and the world in general.
Each stage of the management theories development brought new ideas about the nature of an

the standards of organizations and their tasks. It is followed by the Bureaucratic Management Theory
suggested by Max Weber. This theory mostly concentrated on the types of organizations and the
hierarchy of organizational tasks and responsibilities.

Leaders and producers can learn different lessons from the book. Key Lessons Related to Changes,
Innovation, and Leadership The primary target of the show were pre school children from low income
families. The book narrates the episodes of the show in the first week of its production to demonstrate
how they were related to its objectives. As a way of preparing children to school, the first episodes
were sponsored by number two and three and letters E, S and W. The main lesson from this part is that
any producer or leader should remain focused on the objective of the task. Besides praising the show,
Davis explains the criticism that it received from the public. The critique contributed to the significant
changes made in the show. The aim of criticism is to enlighten producers as to the things they should
focus on. Failure to act on the critiques may wreck the show. A good leader should be ready to adopt
changes. For example, in the 1970s, the management removed the African American Muppet as he
portrayed negative stereotype due to numerous detentions and other misbehaviors. Also, in the 2000s,
the producers included more female characters in the show. The change was made after complaining
on gender inequality among characters in the show. The show also focused on the contemporary
issues. For example, in 2005, the program started educating children about healthy eating by
introducing fruit and vegetable breakfast. Innovating new Muppet every time the program wants

The History of Poliomyelitis Better Known as Polio
The disease poliomyelitis is more commonly known by its alternative name polio. The history of this
disease dates back into prehistory, but major polio epidemics were not known before the twentieth
century. The first clinical description of this disease was provided by a British physician named
Michael Underwood, in which he described the disease as debility of the lower extremities. In the
1880s major epidemics started to occur in Europe, then made its way soon after into the United States.
The first report of multiple cases was recorded in 1843 and described an outbreak that happened in
Louisiana in 1841. The next large outbreak was in Boston in 1893 where there were 26 cases of
poliomyelitis. The following year was the first recognized epidemic in the United States which
occurred in Vermont with 132 total cases, including 18 deaths. By 1907 there were approximately
2,500 cases of polio reported in New York City alone. By 1910, epidemics of polio were regular
events throughout the developed world, mostly in cities during the warmer months. In 1916 there were
over 27,000 cases including more than 6,000 deaths due to polio in the United States, with more than
2,000 deaths occurring in New York City alone. Poliomyelitis hit its peak in the 1940s and 1950s; it
paralyzed or killed more than half a million people per year.

Leonardo Da Vinci and the Renaissance Period
Objective
The objective of this work examines the how Leonardo Da Vinci s work is reflective and definitive of
the Renaissance period and as well, describes some of Da Vinci s art. This work will discuss the use of
line, form, color, texture, and materials as found within one of his works and will state reasons this
time period was chosen to examine in this work and why it is found to be appealing.
Introduction
Leonardo Da Vince was born April 15, 1452 near Vinci, Italy and was a painter, sculptor, architect and
engineer whose genius is reported to epitomize the Renaissance humanist ideal. (Bio True Story,
2012) His most popular and influential paintings are those of the Last Supper and Mona Lisa. It is
reported that Da Vinci s notebooks reveal a scientific inquiry and a mechanical prowess that were
centuries ahead of their time. (Bio True Story, 2012) It is reported of Da Vinci that he believed that
sight ¦was man s highest sense because it alone conveyed the facts of experience immediately,
correctly, and with certainty. Hence, every phenomenon perceived became an object of knowledge,
and saper vedere ( knowing how to see ) became the great theme of his studies. (Bio True Story,

During the second Florentine period Leonardo is reported to have done dissections in the hospital of

Relationship Between Democracy And Economic Growth
Economic growth of a country is something that depends on a number of factors. In this dissertation, I
will investigate the effect of democracy and political freedom on economic growth. Both democracy
and autocracy have various examples of leading countries to economic growth as well as deterioration
of the economy. Along with the nature of the political regime in the nation there are several other
factors that influence economic growth in a country. I will also look in detail at the effects of these
variables on growth and will also later isolate their effects since the direct relationship between
political regime and growth can be established. Looking at non democracy in countries such as China
and the Arab countries, one may feel that democratic institutions are not important for economic
growth. Some may even go ahead and term it as a disturbance in the path of growth, for instance in a
paper written by Daren Acemoglu et al titled Democracy Does Cause Growth , the authors described
the view that some consider democracy a hindrance. Robert Barro presents the academic view on the
issue and says that the key lesson to be learnt is that democracy is not a key to growth and neither do
more political rights mean that there are more chances of economic growth (Barro 1997, pp. 1 and 11).
The literature written with regards to the relationship between democracy and growth mainly suggests
that there is a relationship in existence. Robert J Barro published a paper in 1996 where he

Art Gallery At The Powerhouse Museum And The First Emperor...
The 21st century has seen a dramatic increase in the challenges facing cultural institutions, particularly
museums. One of the most pressing issues currently facing museums worldwide is the diminishing
level of government support. Despite reductions in government funding, the sustained maintenance of
museum collections and facilities continues to require substantial resources. In the face of such
difficulties, a growing number of museums have turned to innovative programming, specifically
exhibitions, as a way to ensure financial viability through increased attendance. Given the growing
competition for consumer leisure time in today s society, attention has shifted away from traditional
scholarly collection based exhibitions, towards the populist exhibition format offered by blockbuster
exhibitions. Through a discussion of Harry Potter™: The Exhibition at the Powerhouse Museum and
the First Emperor: China s Entombed Warriors at the Art Gallery of New South Wales, this essay will
examine the two approaches museums are taking to the blockbuster model. It will be argued that
although exhibitions reflecting popular culture are becoming increasingly more common, there are
institutions that manage to reflect popular taste in ways that continue to advance scholarship and
create opportunities for lifelong learning.
Museological literature offers many definitions of the blockbuster exhibition. According to Elsen, a
blockbuster is a large scale loan exhibition which people who

College Sports Injuries
Injuries Among High School and College Athletes
What does not kill you, can only make you stronger has become the anthem for most coaches and
athletes. High school and college sports have become the most interesting athletic league to watch.
Due to the increase in demand and pressure on adolescent athletes, the injury rate has increased
extremely. There has been an increase in high school athletes and many of these athletes obtain some
type of injury every year. There are many specific overworked and acute injuries that high school
athletes face. Also, many reasons why injuries happen and the different treatments and prevention
methods will be discussed for the diagnosis. Many people believe that success is acquired by any
means possible, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Most athletes never learn the proper skills to play sports safely and correctly. Coaches should teach
their athletes the correct safety procedures before sending a player out to practice or play. A common
error by many parents is that safety precautions do not need to be taught until more advanced levels of
play. This mistake often increases athletes chance of dangering themselves because by the time they
are at a more professional level, it is too late to teach them proper safety regulations. Athletes make
simple mistakes of doing everything incorrectly that includes using the equipment properly. Player
contact injuries represent a high level of high school sport injuries and had an increasingly higher rate
this past year. In his article Epidemiology of Exceptional Heat Illness among U.S. High School
Athletes Zachary Kerr describes how intense player contact injury has increased over the years and
how football is most competitive sport with these injuries. These injuries usually take place at the
ankle/foot, head/face and then the knee. Player contact is the most natural way of injury among high
school athletes, and happens to be the most difficult one to stop. In Tim McGuir s Sports Injuries in
High School Athletes: A Review of Injury Risk and Injury Prevention Research he touches also on the
subject of physical contact

Laura Wingfield Glass Menagerie
The Glass Menagerie is a play, which takes place in St. Louis, Missouri. The main characters are Tom
Wingfield, Amanda Wingfield, Tom s mother, Laura Wingfield, Tom s older sister, and Jim O Conner,
Laura s gentleman caller. Laura Wingfield owns and collects a glass menagerie that is very symbolic
throughout the play. A glass menagerie is a collection of animals that are kept to be trained or
exhibited. Laura takes pride in her glass menagerie. Laura s glass menagerie is an escape to her own
little world. Laura Wingfield has a disability with her leg; one leg is shorter than the other. This defect

This was very symbolic because a unicorn is very unique and Laura is very unique and lives in her
own world. When the horn fell off of the unicorn it became less exotic and more usual, just like how
Jim had momentarily brought Laura into a world of reality. Towards the end of the play the glass
menagerie still symbolizes Laura. The symbolism reflects upon the changes of circumstances and
Laura s heart. Laura did not even want a gentleman caller, but when Jim came her life was changed
forever. Before Jim came Laura could escape into her own world in her glass menagerie. Since Jim
left she cannot escape anymore because she was brought into reality. She gave her unicorn to Jim, so
whenever she looks at her glass menagerie and sees that the unicorn is missing, Laura will think of
Jim. In that way, the glass menagerie can also symbolize escape. The title is named after Laura s
collection because it is the main symbol throughout the play. This title is appropriate because it
symbolizes Laura s fragility and

Futility Wilfred Owen
In the poem, Futility by Wilfred Owen, many language features were used to stir the readers emotions.
Wilfred Owen uses the language feature of a metaphor to help stir the readers emotions in the poem.
The line, At home whispering of fields half sown is a metaphor for how often soldiers lives are cut in
half, it shows how these men s lives had potential that will never be fulfilled. The seeds deserved a
chance to grow, yet war took that chance away from them. A likely reason Wilfred had chosen to use
this technique is because it makes the readers think about the futility of war. This metaphor also
creates a sense of sadness within the reader as it makes a point of how many young soldiers were
killed in battle throughout the war.

Parody In Monty Python s Life Of Brian
Monty Python s Life of Brian traces the tragic last year of Brian of Nazareth, a man who shares his
exact birthday and town with Jesus Christ, the subject of countless biblical epic films. Comedy
distinguishes this biopic, which features a male actor playing the analog of the Virgin Mary, a cured
leper begging for alms, and spontaneous song on the crucifix. It is not sufficient, however, to relegate
the film to parody, which seems the obvious criticism, simply for taking a comedic outlook. The
unique style and construction of many scenes imply that comedy partially motivated the film, but
other stimuli clearly contributed to its simple message. Closely analyzing the film s principal
utilization of non realistic elements and scenes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In this case, the viewer expects the Virgin Mary to accept frankincense, gold, and myrrh. The
feminized male voice, the hideous face, the slapstick, and questioning if myrrh is a dangerous animal
all interrupt anticipated conventions that are informed by Bible scholarship, history, and a host of
previous artistic works. The canonical information that contributes to the viewer s expectations is
restored when the mother tells the three wise men that her child is called Brian, thus relinquishing the
Christ parody that could have been. The realism that permeates the first few shots allows the payoff
joke to work. Production designer and group member Terry Gilliam describes the achieved realism in
relation to the intended overall style: We actually wanted to give it a very rich feel, we didn t want it to
be too lit. You very often find comedy is over lit, but we wanted it to look like an art film. I don t see
any reason why a comedy shouldn t be beautiful. I wanted it to look like an epic: to look rich and have
depth of color. The intricate scenes in the film reveal a balance between humor and historical reality
that allows it to creatively explore ancient culture without having to rely on other canonical films for a
cheap laugh. The movie going public naturally assumes comedy plus history equals parody, which is
usually appropriate considering, for example, Robin Hood: Men in Tights (Mel Brooks, 1993), which

Marketing At The University Of Florida
1. I am studying marketing here at the University of Florida because I am interested in the buying and
selling of goods/services. I find things like television ads, target customers, different brand logos, and
commercials very interesting. Jimmy Johns for example, has really funny ads on the television and
radio that market there product. Companies like Southwestern Advantage sell educational systems
door to door. I think that is a very interesting way to market their product. I know that I am not into
finance or accounting but at this point in time marketing is my best option. If I ever change my major
it would become Economics or Sociology.
2. Ideally five years from now I see myself completing an M.B.A. program. I will have multiple job

that you do not need a college degree for real estate however, I want to keep my options open if that
does not work out. I need to discover what my true passion is. Ideally I will have already landed a job
with a great real estate company. I will have shadowed a successful individual in the field. I would be
personally fulfilled if I do what I love. In five years I should have no doubt in my mind about what I
do or do not love.

Malvolio Dramatic Irony
Shakespeare presents Malvolio as behaving strangely and foolishly in act 3,scene 4 through his use of
dramatic irony, sexual jokes and visual comedy.
Shakespeare uses dramatic irony through this extract as the audience knows that Maria, Sir Andrew
and Sir Toby wrote the letter (supposedly from Olivia) to Malvolio but Malvolio s self love and
extreme self delusion make Malvolio completely ignorant to the trick.
Malvolio is behaving very strangely as he is usually very grave and wears all black. However, in this
seen he is so awoken by the idea that Olivia may grant him an advancement in social class that he
behaves like an utter fool, forgetting all his dignity, decency and good order. His appearance in yellow
and cross gartered stockings is utterly inappropriate especially as Olivia hates the colour yellow. This

This line shows how Malvolio thinks he is much above Maria s social status as he considers her a
peasant and himself a noble man. This compels the audience o enjoy witnessing the downfall of the
supposed villain who has overstepped the bounds of his social position and attempted to destroy the
festive spirit of the foil characters: Maria, Sir Andrew and Sir Toby.
Shakespeare has portrayed Malvolio as a self absorbed fool to mock the Puritans, who hate the theatre
and therefore Shakespeare. As most of Shakespeare s audience would be anti Puritan as they visit the
theatre, this scene will allow them to laugh at there selfish and usually stern ways, with no room to
sympathise with Malvolio.
Although this level of punishment, such as in Act 5, Scene 2 when he is locked in a dark room, may be
perceived as excessive by modern audiences as Puritanism isn t prominent in the modern day.

The Depletion Of The Ozone Layer
Over hundreds of thousands of years humans have adapted their way of life to the environment they
live in resulting in us developing different physical attributes, shelters, clothing, foods, languages and
beliefs. But there are elements in our world that all humans, no matter where or how they live depend
on, water and air. Both are essential for life but air also protects all of us and it is therefore
understandable that the response to the depletion of the ozone layer became international. This essay
will look at what the ozone layer is, why it was depleting, how the international response to this
situation developed and what this collaboration means for our future.
The envelope of gases surrounding the earth is called the atmosphere and it serves three critical
functions: it provides life giving oxygen, keeps the earth warm, and protects us from deadly ultraviolet
(UV) radiation from the sun. Most of the atmosphere consists of nitrogen and oxygen (See Figure 1).
But these gases do not keep us warm or protect the earth from UV rays. For these functions you have
to turn to some of the trace gases found in the atmosphere, commonly referred to as greenhouse gases.
They are: water vapour, carbon dioxide, methane, ozone, and nitrous oxide.
These trace gases function like the transparent covering of a greenhouse, allowing sunlight to filter
through to the earth s surface, then trapping in the heat. Without this greenhouse effect the earth s
temperature would plummet far

her performance, in regards to her sales, with the sales department or the department that is in charge

the facts and data need to be reviewed in order to determine if the information provided is accurate in
terms of her performance. The human resource director cannot assume anything, approach all
situations with caution, and be unbiased when determining the best action to take. When firing and
employee, the human resource manager should be consistent and thorough when investigating the
claims in order to prevent a discrimination lawsuit (Dunn, 1991, p. 26). Therefore, the sales records of
Jeanette Landis need to be reviewed in order to determine if the allegations present by Mr. White are
accurate. When taking with the supervisor of the sales department, I would want a copy of Jeanette s
sales as well as a few other employees sales records in order to accurately compare the sales data
information. The sales supervisor should give a timeline for the data, so that I could fully comprehend

Descriptive Essay About A Beautiful City
Imagine yourself coming to a city you have never been to for a vacation. You have just gotten a leave
from your job and you are expecting a relaxing vacation without any hassles. After a long flight, you
reach your final destination, Pearadex, California. You walk out of the airport into a huge, beautiful
city full of gigantic skyscrapers that is the home of the city s tech industry. As you walk into the
downtown area, you see a beautiful fountain with water gushing out in all directions making its way
through the city using a median of streams which resemble a microchip when looked from above.
Little kids are playing in the stream splashing around while the senior citizens sit on pear shaped
benches watching the young children with glee. Hover cars make their way as they gently glide on top
of the river and the streets lining them and guide their passengers home with the low sound of hover
cars powered by compressed gases. Paddle boats and tour gondolas glide across the water gently as
their occupants heartily talk and laugh. Suddenly a bell rings out of nowhere and you are alarmed as
you do not know what is going on. You breathe a sigh of relief as you see kids of all ages flock out of
school in the thousands and hear their screams of joy as you walk past. They all dash to Crystal Lake
to escape the heat. The clear water with a hint of blue is full of ripples going off in all directions from
the boats and canoes. The familiar smell of freshly cut grass from the field in Birchland Park enters
your nose. You are home! You finally attain your peace and quietness. The neighborhood is very quiet
allowing you to take a peaceful nap and dream about the wonderful sights you will see and the things
you will do in this wonderful city tomorrow. Pearadex city has surpassed all levels expected from the

Slavery Tribulation In American History
Throughout World History, many atrocious and abominable things have happened to human beings
throughout time. Babies have been slaughtered in wars, people have been killed by severe natural
disasters, and people have even been eaten by cannibals. But nothing seems to come close in
comparison to the Transatlantic Slave Trade and what those people had to toil through. They were
mercilessly beaten, branded, and even considered less than human by their fellow humans. The slaves
of this horrific time in American History, from the 1400s to the 1860s, went through possibly the

Since psychiatry is a branch of medicine in which thus is a branch of science I contemplated that the theory of science would be a sensible beginning stage. Obviously, for all intents and purposes there are numerous different impacts on psychiatry other than science alone. However, I would view this as an imperative part of the center of psychiatry. There are various branches of science that are essential for psychiatry and this further adds to the potential formal of a comprehension of the rationality of science. • 3. Reflection Of Popular Culture American Popular Culture music, movie, painting, and clothing is seemingly a superficial topic, but is actually the reflection of the social values and even political inclination that prevailed in the society of that era. From the pious and strict Puritan colonial culture in 1600 s to the hippies and Rock n Roll in 1970s, American culture did go through massive changes along with the transformations in racial and gender equality, social ideals, politics, and America s role in the world. In the project, our group divided American history into roughly three periods of time, in each of which we researched about the content of popular culture as well as analyzed the causes of the these cultural phenomenon and their development. Lilian is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... At the beginning, in order to reasonably divide the whole history into three periods, we logged into Library Genesis and downloaded papers including A History of Popular Culture: More of Everything, Faster and Brighter and Prosthetic memory: The transformation of American remembrance in the age of mass culture . With these materials and our background knowledge of U.S. history, we roughly chose two turning points: Civil War, Great Depression. Our criteria for dividing the periods was that each period should have unique and distinguished characteristics, and the popular culture in the era was a reflection of politics, economics, religion, or America s role in the world. Civil War is not only the turning point for African Americans, but also a signpost for human rights in America. Prior to Civil War, main stream culture came from whites. After Civil War, African Americans started to be more involved in the society, stimulated more racial integration, and added to the culture diversity in U.S.. Prior to Great Depression, U.S. witnessed financial crisis for several times. After Great Depression, U.S. enjoyed economic prosperity and its role gradually became important ... The reader is often present in the kitchen with Esquivel when she writes about her past experiences in the kitchen. At the time Like Water for Chocolate takes place, the Mexican Revolution rages on. The book takes place during the turn of the nineteenth century, which leads to many other events in the story. The Mexican Revolution took place from 1910 to 1920, and brought many changes to the Mexican culture. In the novel, the reader can see that Gertrudis was one of the many women who participated in the Mexican Revolution, and worked her way up to being a general in the movement. Women that participated in the Mexican Revolution were sometimes found fighting beside the men, which was not something that many women did during that time. Also, during the time of the Mexican Revolution, the soldiers treated many women and young females poorly. Esquivel tells how many women were mistreated, A group of bandits attacked the ranch. They raped Chencha. Mama Elena, trying to defend her honor, suffered a strong blow to her spine and was left a paraplegic, paralyzed from the waist down (Esquivel 129). Not one person thought that his presidency would almost not make it to day 71. John Hinckley Jr. took six shots a President Reagan on that seventieth day in an attempted assassination. Luckily the President was able to survive the ordeal. Hinckley had an overwhelming and somewhat pathological need to become famous. In high school, Hinckley soon lost interest in the sports he played as well as the few friends that he had (The Biography.com, John Hinckley Jr. Biography ). He preferred to play his guitar and listen to music all alone in his room. Soon after his graduation from high school, Hinckley went to Texas Tech for college. Statistics went from 1 in 7 prisoners in 1992 to 1 in 4 in 2012 and to almost 1 in 3 in 2014. There have been an abundance of proposals, plans and programs established, some of which have failed and some which are still in development, to try decrease the high numbers. The high incarceration rate of Indigenous people in Australia is considered to be a global issue that must be addressed. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander prison rates The increased severity in the criminal justice system towards Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people is claimed to be the cause for the increasing incarceration rates. Research shows that the majority of Australian prisons have a high Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander population, since 1989, the imprisonment rates of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people has increased 12 times faster than the rate of non Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. This shows that there has been major overrepresentation of Indigenous people in Australia in prisons. FIGURE 1 As seen in figure 1, Indigenous people represent 17% of the prison population on average. In Western Australia and Northern Territory it is particularly high with there being 43% and 84% of Indigenous people in prison. • 8. Essay on Sex in Ursula K. LeGuin s The Left Hand of Darkness Let s Talk About Sex Ursula K. LeGuin s The Left Hand of Darkness is the story of Genly Ai s travels to a strange planet called Gethen, or Winter. His mission there is to persuade the nations of Gethen to join an alliance Genly Ai represents called the Ekumen . However, his journey is rather difficult due to the great difference in societies from Genly Ai s home planet, Earth, and this new one. In Gethen, he learns that the people are completely unsexed for the majority of their days. When they are sexed, it is only for a few days and each person is either male or female during this time. The different governments use Genly Ai as a pawn, but in the end they join the alliance. Unfortunately, it comes with the price of his friend s life. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... LeGuin does this to reinforce the notion that Genly Ai is completely unassimilated to Gethen culture. She does this by having Genly Ai describe him as a woman, but calling him by the male title King where LeGuin could have had Genly Ai call Argaven monarch , a sexless title that still holds as much accuracy. The best show of Genly Ai s awkward understanding of sex in this manner is, perhaps, when LeGuin has Genly Ai describe the owner of his apartment building when he says, I though of him as my landlady, for he has a fat buttocks that wagged as he walked, and a soft fat face, and a prying, spying, ignoble, kindly nature (48). LeGuin has Genly Ai describe his landowner as a woman simply because of some of his physical features. LeGuin, using adjectives that describe exclusively females, has shown that Genly Ai is completely unable to assimilate to Gethen by giving up his perceptions of people and their sex. As the novel progresses, LeGuin has Genly Ai s descriptions become a little less sexed to show him adjusting to Gethen s sexual culture. Later in the novel, LeGuin has Genly Ai meet a character named Faxe, she has him describe Faxe as having one of the most beautiful human faces [he] ever saw (68). Here, LeGuin uses the absence of sexed description to show that Genly Ai has adjusted to the Gethenian culture. Then, when LeGuin has Genly Ai discuss the issue of parenting he simply states, that the distinction between a maternal and a paternal instinct is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

There are many possible and unknown reasons why the Anasazi disappeared from their cliff dwellings and what remains of them to this day in Pueblo Colorado. As a way of preparing children to school, the first episodes were sponsored by number two and three and letters E, S and W. The history of this disease dates back into prehistory, but major polio epidemics were not known before the twentieth century. The first clinical description of this disease was provided by a British physician named Michael Underwood, in which he described the disease as debility of the lower extremities. In the 1880s major epidemics started to occur in Europe, then made its way soon after into the United States. The first report of multiple cases was recorded in 1843 and described an outbreak that happened in Louisiana in 1841. The next large outbreak was in Boston in 1893 where there were 26 cases of poliomyelitis. The following year was the first recognized epidemic in the United States which occurred in Vermont with 132 total cases, including 18 deaths. By 1907 there were approximately 2,500 cases of polio reported in New York City alone. By 1910, epidemics of polio were regular events throughout the developed world, mostly in cities during the warmer months. In 1916 there were over 27,000 cases including more than 6,000 deaths due to polio in the United States, with more than 2,000 deaths occurring in New York City alone. • 22. Relationship Between Democracy And Economic Growth Economic growth of a country is something that depends on a number of factors. In this dissertation, I will investigate the effect of democracy and political freedom on economic growth. Both democracy and autocracy have various examples of leading countries to economic growth as well as deterioration of the economy. Along with the nature of the political regime in the nation there are several other factors that influence economic growth in a country. I will also look in detail at the effects of these variables on growth and will also later isolate their effects since the direct relationship between political regime and growth can be established. Looking at non democracy in countries such as China and the Arab countries, one may feel that democratic institutions are not important for economic growth. Some may even go ahead and term it as a disturbance in the path of growth, for instance in a paper written by Daren Acemoglu et al titled Democracy Does Cause Growth , the authors described the view that some consider democracy a hindrance. Robert Barro presents the academic view on the issue and says that the key lesson to be learnt is that democracy is not a key to growth and neither do more political rights mean that there are more chances of economic growth (Barro 1997, pp. 1 and 11). The literature written with regards to the relationship between democracy and growth mainly suggests that there is a relationship in existence. Robert J Barro published a paper in 1996 where he ... One of the most pressing issues currently facing museums worldwide is the diminishing level of government support. Despite reductions in government funding, the sustained maintenance of museum collections and facilities continues to require substantial resources. In the face of such difficulties, a growing number of museums have turned to innovative programming, specifically exhibitions, as a way to ensure financial viability through increased attendance. Given the growing competition for consumer leisure time in today s society, attention has shifted away from traditional scholarly collection based exhibitions, towards the populist exhibition format offered by blockbuster exhibitions. Through a discussion of Harry Potter™: The Exhibition at the Powerhouse Museum and the First Emperor: China s Entombed Warriors at the Art Gallery of New South Wales, this essay will examine the two approaches museums are taking to the blockbuster model. It will be argued that although exhibitions reflecting popular culture are becoming increasingly more common, there are institutions that manage to reflect popular taste in ways that continue to advance scholarship and create opportunities for lifelong learning. Museological literature offers many definitions of the blockbuster exhibition. According to Elsen, a blockbuster is a large scale loan exhibition which people who ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The unique style and construction of many scenes imply that comedy partially motivated the film, but other stimuli clearly contributed to its simple message. Closely analyzing the film s principal utilization of non realistic elements and scenes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In this case, the viewer expects the Virgin Mary to accept frankincense, gold, and myrrh. The feminized male voice, the hideous face, the slapstick, and questioning if myrrh is a dangerous animal all interrupt anticipated conventions that are informed by Bible scholarship, history, and a host of previous artistic works. The canonical information that contributes to the viewer s expectations is restored when the mother tells the three wise men that her child is called Brian, thus relinquishing the Christ parody that could have been. The realism that permeates the first few shots allows the payoff joke to work. Production designer and group member Terry Gilliam describes the achieved realism in relation to the intended overall style: We actually wanted to give it a very rich feel, we didn t want it to be too lit. You very often find comedy is over lit, but we wanted it to look like an art film. I don t see any reason why a comedy shouldn t be beautiful. I wanted it to look like an epic: to look rich and have depth of color. The intricate scenes in the film reveal a balance between humor and historical reality that allows it to creatively explore ancient culture without having to rely on other canonical films for a cheap laugh. The movie going public naturally assumes comedy plus history equals parody, which is usually appropriate considering, for example, Robin Hood: Men in Tights (Mel Brooks, 1993), which barely ... I find things like television ads, target customers, different brand logos, and commercials very interesting. Jimmy Johns for example, has really funny ads on the television and radio that market there product. Companies like Southwestern Advantage sell educational systems door to door. • 33. Malvolio Dramatic Irony Shakespeare presents Malvolio as behaving strangely and foolishly in act 3,scene 4 through his use of dramatic irony, sexual jokes and visual comedy. Shakespeare uses dramatic irony through this extract as the audience knows that Maria, Sir Andrew and Sir Toby wrote the letter (supposedly from Olivia) to Malvolio but Malvolio s self love and extreme self delusion make Malvolio completely ignorant to the trick. Malvolio is behaving very strangely as he is usually very grave and wears all black. However, in this seen he is so awoken by the idea that Olivia may grant him an advancement in social class that he behaves like an utter fool, forgetting all his dignity, decency and good order. The Depletion Of The Ozone Layer Over hundreds of thousands of years humans have adapted their way of life to the environment they live in resulting in us developing different physical attributes, shelters, clothing, foods, languages and beliefs. But there are elements in our world that all humans, no matter where or how they live depend on, water and air. Both are essential for life but air also protects all of us and it is therefore understandable that the response to the depletion of the ozone layer became international. This essay will look at what the ozone layer is, why it was depleting, how the international response to this situation developed and what this collaboration means for our future. The envelope of gases surrounding the earth is called the atmosphere and it serves three critical functions: it provides life giving oxygen, keeps the earth warm, and protects us from deadly ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the sun. Most of the atmosphere consists of nitrogen and oxygen (See Figure 1). But these gases do not keep us warm or protect the earth from UV rays. For these functions you have to turn to some of the trace gases found in the atmosphere, commonly referred to as greenhouse gases. They are: water vapour, carbon dioxide, methane, ozone, and nitrous oxide. These trace gases function like the transparent covering of a greenhouse, allowing sunlight to filter through to the earth s surface, then trapping in the heat. Without this greenhouse effect the earth s temperature would plummet far ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

You have just gotten a leave from your job and you are expecting a relaxing vacation without any hassles. After a long flight, you reach your final destination, Pearadex, California. You walk out of the airport into a huge, beautiful city full of gigantic skyscrapers that is the home of the city s tech industry. As you walk into the downtown area, you see a beautiful fountain with water gushing out in all directions making its way through the city using a median of streams which resemble a microchip when looked from above. Little kids are playing in the stream splashing around while the senior citizens sit on pear shaped benches watching the young children with glee. Hover cars make their way as they gently glide on top of the river and the streets lining them and guide their passengers home with the low sound of hover cars powered by compressed gases. Paddle boats and tour gondolas glide across the water gently as their occupants heartily talk and laugh. Suddenly a bell rings out of nowhere and you are alarmed as you do not know what is going on. You breathe a sigh of relief as you see kids of all ages flock out of school in the thousands and hear their screams of joy as you walk past. They all dash to Crystal Lake to escape the heat. The clear water with a hint of blue is full of ripples going off in all directions from the boats and canoes. The familiar smell of freshly cut grass from the field in Birchland Park enters your nose. You are home! You finally attain your peace and quietness. But nothing seems to come close in comparison to the Transatlantic Slave Trade and what those people had to toil through. They were mercilessly beaten, branded, and even considered less than human by their fellow humans. The slaves of this horrific time in American History, from the 1400s to the 1860s, went through possibly the worst tribulation in human history. Slave traders went beyond what was necessary to keep slaves.
