Drug Legalization In The United States
Drug Legalization The issue of drug legalization is become increasingly popular in today s society.
There are pros and cons of making marijuana legal in the United States, and we are taking the stance
in support of legalization. So far, eleven states have decided to pass the law legalizing it, and it seems
that more are to follow. Some might pose the question, is this bettering our country or making matters
worse? After weighing both sides we agree that legalizing marijuana in the United States would
reduce crime rates, overcrowding in prisons, make drug use more safe, and help with health issues.
One pro of legalizing marijuana would be the reduction of crime in the U.S. With marijuana being
against the law currently, people sell and buy it amongst each other illegally. The punishment for
being caught in possession of marijuana is an expensive fine and a night spent in jail. This can also
lead to violent crimes such as homicide, rape, robbery, assault, burglary, and auto theft. A recent study
shows that legalizing medical marijuana shows no increase in the crime rate of that state. In fact, it
may even decrease it. Robert Morris, an associate professor of criminology at UT Dallas, ... Show

According to WebMD, your body already makes marijuana like chemicals that affect pain and
inflammation, and marijuana can help those chemical processes work better. In some states, medical
marijuana is legalized and prescribed to patients by a doctor for things such as muscle spasms, nausea
from chemotherapy treatments, poor appetite and weight loss from certain diseases, and seizure
disorders. Recent animal studies have shown that marijuana kills or reduces the size of cancer cells. It
even slowed the growth of cancer cells of one of the most serious types of brain tumors. When tested
on mice exposed to radiation and chemotherapy for cancer treatment it reduced the negative effects

The War Of 1812 Pitted Two Western Powers
The War of 1812 pitted two western powers against one another, the newly established United States
of America and the ancient United Kingdom. Battles raged on for roughly two and a half years,
resulting in what many agree ended in a tie. What many disagree with is how the war came to fruition.
The two research papers within Retrieving the American Past seek to connect the dots. Firstly,
Reginald Horsman cites many concrete reasons behind the warfare: British impressment, calling back
the return of American soldiers deemed responsible to serve in the Royal Navy, upon the American
army, meddling with maritime trade between the States and European nations (notable France), and
inciting or taking part in Indian attacks against the colonies. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Although both papers contain the truth, Horsman s comes much closer to explaining the reasons
behind the War of 1812. McCoy speaks through the eyes of the Jeffersonian community, not the entire
American population. Due to its smaller scope of the relevancy, Mccoy s paper is less effective than
Horsman s. Drew McCoy s paper includes much more depth into the Jeffersonian mindset. The
American economy depended largely on the exportation of farm grown items. Clearly, access to
foreign markets is a must for success. These markets were made inaccessible by the presence of
British ships scattered about the passageways to France and other European countries. Jeffersonians,
peaceful by definition, suggested a lengthy embargo. This holdout would put pressure on Americans to
manufacture within their country, thus building a feeling of unity. However, the embargo lasted for a
little longer than a year and a half, yielding no positive results for America. Jefferson himself was
attacked and accused of resisting commercialism. It was soon decided that foreign commerce was best
for the country s economic welfare. As McCoy states, the Jeffersonians were presented with two
options: ... accept the failure of peaceable coercion to remove restrictions on American commerce and
submit to the British orders in council, or they could attempt, through military means, a forcible
assertion of America s right to an independent and unrestricted access to

Essay about The Emergence of Europe
The Emergence of Europe In the Early Middle Ages:
The Germanic Tribes, the Roman Legacy, and the Christian Church
Marina Lundstrom
History 114 Western Civilization The World I
Due: November 8, 2014
After the fall of the Roman Empire around the fifth century, it took hundreds of years for the western
part of Europe to establish a new society. 1 The emergence of this new European civilization during a
period known as the Early Middle Ages, included three major components: the Germanic tribes, the
bequest of the Romans, and the legislation of the Christian Church. Although these three chief
elements contributed to the new medieval empire in the west, the Germanic tribes devastated the
seized Roman territory ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Frankish king, Clovis I (c. 481 511) proceeded this succession in Western Europe by his
conversion to Christianity and support from the Christian church.11 At first Clovis was urged by his
wife to convert to her Christian faith but was further convinced to receive baptism, along with his
army, in fear of defeat by the opposing German armies. Grasping on to this new Christian faith, Clovis
conquered several of his enemies including the Visigoths and the Alemanni resulting in the expansion
of his Frankish rule from eastern Germany to the Pyrenees.12 By the end of his reign, Clovis was able
to unify the Frankish tribes under one kingdom and develop a strong alliance with the Christian
church.
The leadership that was so badly needed in western Europe could only come from the capable leaders
of the Christian church at the beginning of the sixth century. The church was the only surviving
institution after the Roman Empire was overthrown but it still suffered through the barbaric invasions
and disorder from the Germanic tribes. Able to withstand the confining barbarianism were only two
ecclesiastical institutes: the monks and the papacy.13 In the joint efforts of the papacy and the
Germanic kingship, they were prepared to effectively direct the western European population through

The New Model Intelligence Led Approach
As the new lieutenant in charge of policing violent crime in the city, the increase of violent crimes has
been brought to my knowledge. Understanding that, some changes will be implementing into our
department. For the past two months the amount of knowledge I have encounter when dealing within
the criminal justice agencies, has been a lot. However, it has been the major key to making an
organization have structure, a mission to oblige by, as well reducing the crime rate effectively. In this
dissertation (meeting) a discussion of the new model intelligence led approach will be describe how,
along with an example of how well other organization utilizing these concepts to improve the
reduction of crimes. Finally, a goal will be presented on how to go about implementing the evidence
based practice chosen.
In the course of learning these programs, distinguishing the best approach for the department will be
difficult at first, but once that portion is articulated, keeping it together and following the rules and
regulations are going to be easy, if every individual listens and is willing to be a part of this journey as
the unit evolve for the better, and sake of the community. There are many intelligence led approach
out there, some only utilize one and others utilized two to three depending on size of the agency.
Intelligence led policing, is all about how the police articulates the information or data they found,
how they use it, and being able to share data with other

Marketing Strategy Of Vodafone
Telecommunications: Company Vodafone
Vodafone is a British multinational telecommunications company which operates its own networks in
26 countries and has partner networks in over 50 countries. Such a wide range of markets makes
Vodafone apply different marketing strategies to satisfy customers needs and make profits from it.
This chapter of the essay will focus on EU s and Indian marketing strategies of Vodafone to prove the
importance of having different marketing strategies in different markets.
The market in the EU is relatively mature compared with the Indian market. In a mature market of
telecommunications the number of consumers of a mobile network is relatively steady. On Financial
Times website, in Daniel Thomas s (2014) article Vodafone continues its evolution and widens
European foothold , he describes the marketing strategy of Vodafone in EU specifically. Now the main
strategy in EU is about expending Vodafone s business to other fields including the broadband and TV
markets. In order to realize the business expending Vodafone began to purchase other companies like
Ono of Spain, Cable Wireless Worldwide in the UK and Kabel Deutschland in Germany which
provide such service to customers. Also Building Vodafone s own network in Italy, Spain and Portugal
is another strategy used for business expending. Daniel Thomas (2014) mentioned Mr. Colao CEO of
Vodafone describes the strategy of Vodafone in EU s market as the next chapter . Mr. Colao also
pointed that

Summary Of Untitled By Gerald Dono
The painting of Untitled by Gerald Donato displayed in the Taubman Museum in Roanoke allures
attention by the chaotic combination of figural pieces and the collided whirlwind of vibrant yellows,
oranges, greens, and undertones of black. The background information shares that Gerald Donato was
a talented, beloved painter and teacher whose work anticipated references to important art historical
developments. Ideological forces, such as familiar cartoon imagery, Steamboat Willie , and formally
represented figures, are clearly influences in his work as his interest of hidden subject matter is
visually bursted on an oil canvas. He created a blended cartoon like scene of abstraction and figuration
by incorporating a mysterious feminine figure Moon face and a recurring character Mr. Man to
embody a message of escaping from the spiral cage that represents the constraints in life. Mr. Donato
borrowed images from past history and radically transformed these elements through his own blend of
abstraction and figures to send a message about the conflict between society and individuals.
The artist depicts an initial confusing and weirded out thought for the viewer at first glance, but as one
deeply examines the art, the subject matter begins to become more clear. The vision being shared in
this non objective painting has a context of placing one in the standing of Mr. Man by gaining height
and freedom from the (white) bars that are rising on each level that represent conflict which traps one
in a cage of misery. The unbalanced symmetry of having the left side take up more space with little
action, and the right side being smaller with the action unraveling, makes the viewer break down each
composite perspective. For the left side, the mysterious female muse, Moon Face, has an
unproportional face that is almost blushing with shades of light pasty orange, with the mouth wide
open. The energetic mood is amplified by the tone of yellow that is splashed in the mouth,
representing a loss of words or at a state of disbelief. The female s lower half is created with tints of
red that enhances the curves on her body, as if chiaroscuro connects the light and dark contrast to

The Titanic was a very large ship that could hold many people and held many important people. Mr.
smith did not listen to the ice warnings and he got careless. I think Mr. Smith did not take the ice
warnings too heavily because not too many ships be for have been damage be floating ice. So it would
be best if you took ice warnings or any warning very seriously. I think that Mr. Smith the captain of
the Titanic is responsible for the sinking of the Titanic as A result, he got careless when it came to the
ice warnings all he did was put more people to watch and did not take that much precaution. I think it
was Mr. Smith captain of the Titanic that was mostly responsible for the sinking of the Titanic. But I

A Short Story Of The Triangle Shirtwaist Fire
The Triangle shirtwaist factory fire on March 25, 1911, was one of the worst tragedies ever back then,
causing the death of 146 workers. This company was owned by Max Blank and Isaac Harris. They had
a little shop by 1900 and it grew quickly, they moved their business to the ninth floor of the new ten
story Asch building. There were approximately 500 workers, mostly immigrant women, worked at the
Triangle shirtwaist company. Bessie Cohen, who survived was inside the building and wrote a short
story of what had happened. Most women either died from the fire or jumped from a high height.
They jumped because the fire trucks ladders could only reach up to seventh floor. The doors were
locked to prevent workers from stealing or leaving, thus, they had no escape. According to fire
marshal, cigarettes were the cause of the fire. Cotton is even more flammable than paper, more like
explosively. Plus, the factory had woods and there were oxygen. After the fire, they had an
investigation. Max Blanck and Isaac Harris was the owner of the Triangle shirtwaist factory. They
emigrated from Russia and met in the United States. By 1900 they had a little shop and it grew up
quickly that they moved their business into Asch Building in the 8th floor then they moved to the tenth
floor. There were approximately 500 people, mostly women who worked at the Triangle Waist

Analysis Of Cmi s New Cushion Pads
1. To calculate the amount a customer should be willing to pay for one of CMI s new cushion pads, the
average costs per real hour of equipment rental, labor, and overhead costs were first taken into
consideration (Figure 1). These amounted to an average cost per real hour of $714.00. Next, the
average costs per real hour of hidden costs were taken into consideration (Figure 2). According to the
case, a contractor could spend 20 to 40 minutes moving the crane into position. This averaged to 30
((20 + 40) / 2) minutes, or 50% (30 / 60). Similarly, another 10% to 15% was added to cover
scheduling delays, mistakes, and other unavoidable problems. This averaged to 12.5% ((10% + 15%) /
2). Considering these percentages, the total hidden costs were $258.75. The total equipment rental,
labor, and overhead costs with total hidden costs were $972.75 ($714.00 + $258.75). In other words,
the total average cost per real hour was $972.75. Finally, using this total average cost per real hour and
the case, the total costs for driving time, replacing pads for both the Kendrick Foundation Company
and Corey Construction were calculated (Figure 3). The difference between the total contract costs,
excluding total changing time costs, for conventional pads and CMI pads for Kendrick Foundation
Company was $30,738.90. Similarly, the difference between the total contract costs, excluding total
changing time costs, for conventional pads and CMI pads for Corey Construction was $30,738.90.

What Can Sports Teach Us About Business Strategy
What can Sports Teach Us about Business Strategy? In recent times, no sports team has lived up to the
title of Underdogs as Leicester City have. When the 2015 16 English Premier League Season began,
few could have imagined the shock that was about to follow. A team that had just scraped off
relegation last season, had very few financial resources and had a new head coach, went on to perform
the greatest miracle seen in English Football history. To put it in perspective, the odds of Leicester
winning the English Premier League at 5000 1, was deemed more unlikely than the Second Coming of
Jesus Christ by British Bookmakers. It is indeed a fairytale and one which any person with a dream
would want to follow. While I was witnessing this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This brings me to the importance of acquisitions in Businesses. Acquisitions done at the right time can
turn around the fortunes of any enterprise. For Example, Founded in 1911, the rapidly growing
Swedish pharmaceutical company Pharmacia, showcased its first demonstration of market power with
the purchase American rivals Upjohn in 1995 and Monsanto less than five years later. During that time
Monsanto, had been developing the anti inflammatory drug known as Celecoxib , which had been
eyed by Pfizer during its development stages. Beaten to the punch by Pharmacia, the American Pfizer
announced the purchasing deal of Pharmacia as a whole in July 2002 with the transaction tag of $60bn
(U.S). Less than seven years later Pfizer would agree to purchase rival Wyeth for approximately
$68bn (U.S). Today, Pfizer Inc. is worth as much as twice its value at $172bn (U.S). Taking another
example, at one point Bank One Corp was the sixth largest bank in U.S.It was the first of many
dominions that would be purchased by the millennials new born that is J.P Morgan Chase. After a
string of successful mergers on its own, including its own consolidation of Chicago Corp and the

A Midsummer Night s Dream Real
Was this play really just a story of entertainment created by a figment of your imagination? Was this
all really a dream? Or did these events actually take place? In the play A Midsummer Night s Dream ,
some might say it s just that a dream. This is what most people may think or may be confused about,
but the word dream could mean many things. The magic in the story is used to make it all seem like an
unforgettable dream, but many people get to do what they want with a little trickery because of the so
called dream . Although the play seems to end happily through all of the trials and magic, there is still
a debate on how people see the ending as if it was a dream or if it was real. This play shows how weak
minded people can be, the fairies are like the voices in our head telling us what we want to believe
instead of the reality of the situation. Though Shakespeare wants to establish that the past four days
were only a dream, he made it as if the audience and the main characters were just being used as
puppets . The audience is characterized as the main characters with a simple human mind, while
Shakespeare is the fairies with magic and a mischievous mind. Shakespeare states, Puppet! Why so?
Ay, that way goes the game. Now I perceive that she hath made compare Between our statures; she

Others may debate on the statement that the events in the past four days were either a dream or if it all
really happened. The dream has different meanings, but was still a made up figment of our
imagination. The imagination of all lovers, madmen, and poets are full of illusions and untruths. Then
Theseus overlooks that it is reason and sets down the law of Athens that caused the problems in the
beginning making it a good thing that there was a usage of the dream . Without the dream, there would
be no story to tell. A Midsummer Night s Dream was just that a

Vineland Adaptive Behavior Analysis
Scott is a 6 year old student who is currently in 1st grade. He has several behaviors that has been
identified by both his parents and classroom teachers. Some of his most noted behaviors has been
aggression, depression, lack of attention, and withdrawal. He shows aggression by breaking objects,
and physically attacking other students as well as staff members. He shows signs of depression when
he screams and becomes easily frustrated. Scotts has trouble with attending because he often become
distracted as noted. Scotts hyperactivity becomes evident as he screams out and shows very little
control over himself or emotions and interrupts adults when he is excited. Finally, Scott displays the
coping mechanism of withdrawal by avoiding activities ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I believe that utilizing the Vineland Adaptive Behavior Assessment will provide a clearer picture of
Scott. The Vineland test would be the most appropriate test to give Scott because the Vineland test is
used to measure personal and social skills from birth to adulthood (Manohari, Raman, Ashok, 2013). It
is important to note that Scott is in 1st grade and there is very limited academic pattern for him.
Taking this assessment will allow teachers and parents to obtain a greater interpretation of Scott. The
assessed adaptive behavior done by Vineland is communication, living skills, socialization, and motor.
According to the case study these are also the domains in which the parents and teachers have
concerns. Because there is a family history of ADHD Vineland remains an appropriate choice of
assessment because it addresses intellectual and developmental disabilities as well as autism spectrum
disorder and ADHD. Vineland also provides educational and treatment plans (Manohari, Raman,
Ashok, 2013). Therefore, it is necessary that all aspects of a student development are looked at in
order to make a n appropriate diagnosis. This includes language, social skills, attention, behavior,
mood, academic skills, social skills, play skills and motor skills (Manohari, Raman, Ashok, 2013).
Having a thorough assessment allows for all areas of development to be addressed to obtain a clear
picture of the student. Because Scott sensory processing is a concern these difficulties interfere with
his participation in classroom activities, interaction with peers and staff, emotional and behavioral
control and attending

What Does Arnold Shwarzenegger Mean
This is a man of bottomless ambition said George Butler, a very decorated film biographer. Arnold
Schwarzenegger is one of the hardest working American icons I have ever read about. Arnold
overcame adversity in many ways to become one of the most know people in America and all over the
world. He started with nothing except his mother as his only positive motivation in his early years.
Arnold wasn t going to stop until he was the best at everything he wanted to be. Acting was his big
ticket to fame. What really help him though in his other aspects of life was his bodybuilding. For me
life is continuously being hungry. The meaning of life is not simply to exist, to survive, but move
ahead, to go up, to achieve, to conquer these are words Arnold said himself and lived by. He was
going to be the best he could be if it killed him trying. Arnold s early years are what I think gives him
his rights to be a True American Icon. He did not have much as kid. He was the younger of two kids
and his dad would regularly beat him because he was the least athletic of the two. The brothers would
fight all the time, the only relationship he had with his family was his mother who taught him how to
be the best he could be. She gave him the discipline to be the he needed to be a bodybuilder. His father

The Angel of Death We have all heard about the tragedy of the Holocaust. Horrendous, atrocious,
brutal. These are all words that are used to describe the endless suffering of the Jewish people. But
what not many people know of are the dark and sinister scientists that were behind a lot of this
genocide. Thousands of people, murdered. Not the citizens that were plastered on the headlines of
every Newspaper, but the victims who suffered in silence. The innocent people that were tortured,

Paul Revere Contributions
Paul Revere s contributions before and during the American Revolution were so important that
without them the history of the United States could be very different today. As a member of the Sons
of Liberty and founder of the Mechanics , Revere was successful employing propaganda, code and
cipher, and an early warning system to aid colonists in the defeat of the British. However, it is Paul
Revere s midnight ride, warning of the British advance on Lexington and Concord, that he is most
remembered for. And Revere s contributions as the first intelligence operative supported the success of
the colonists before and during the American Revolution. But what if Paul Revere never took that
midnight ride? How would the lack of intelligence resources affected the result of the first battle of the
American Revolution? The paper will examine how the outcome of the American Revolution would
have changed without Paul Revere s actions and contributions of intelligence and intelligence assets.
The Battle of Lexington and Concord
On the night of 18 April 1775, hundreds of British troops set off from Boston toward Concord,
Massachusetts, to seize weapons and ammunition stockpiled by American colonists. Early the next
morning, an advance guard of nearly 240 British soldiers reached Lexington. Paul Revere s famous
ride ahead of the British departure from Boston alerted a group of nearly 70 minutemen along the
route from Lexington through to Concord. When the British finally arrived the

Passage Of The Great Race Essay
1 How are African Americans depicted in the movie (200 words)
African Americans are depicted in an non flattering way throughout the film. The characters, although
they are all played by white actors, are seen as hysterical and power hungry. This is seen in the way
that Lynch lusts after the white woman who is depicted as young naïve and who only wants to further
his own interests though politics. In the state house of representatives, the majority which is made up
of African Americans are portrayed in stereotypes with the representatives taking their shoes off and

Moreover, it shows the true intentions of the African American legislators to take away the

In what way(s) are these two works related? (100 words)
The Passage of the Great Race is related to the film because they both emphasized the importance of
the white race and how the native Americans had to bend their own right during the takeover of other
less important races. They also emphasize the takeover of these people of their white women and
culture, in the movie in how the character lusts after the white woman and in the literature in how he
calls them out for taking away their women. As well, the film and written work both call for a
separation of the races so that they cannot intermingle or intermarry so that they may keep their
women to themselves and the white race

Drug Trafficking
The international drug trade from Latin American states is having an impact on a global scale. The
trafficking of drugs along with corruptness and murder is an international conflict that is being fought
daily. There are many aspects of the drug war from Mexico and other Latin American states which
have effects on United States policy as well as policies from other countries that participate in the
global suppression of illegal drugs. It can be hard to differentiate between conflict and issue in regards
to Latin America s drug war and International Relations. The Mexican drug war is a global issue
because it interferes with the states ability to collaborate and form policy in order to address the issues
between international borders. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Now, drug trafficking has been taken to the world stage. In regards to the Mexican drug cartels the
United States is working with Mexican interdiction efforts, establishing corruption resistant court
systems and police agencies, in order to help fight off a security threat to the United States. (Meyer
2009) With the United States being a hegemonic power, one state holding a preponderance of power
in the international system allowing it to dominate the rules and arrangements in international political
and economic decisions are made power in the world, they have imposed states with certain
conditions/standards in order to receive aid. Mexico has frequently stated that the Untied States is
acting unilaterally and violating their sovereignty. Sovereignty is the idea that each state has the right
to do whatever it desires within its own territory. Another reason that this conflict is being targeted by
different government organizations is that terrorists have become involved in the drug trade. The
United States is concerned that due to the weakened budget from the efforts of the war on terror and
the war on drugs its borders are becoming available to the smuggling of terrorists. (Levin 2010) With
the passage of the North American Free Trade Agreement, signed by the United States, Canada, and
Mexico that allows for the trade of goods with little or no tariffs or trade restrictions, concerns were

Dumb And Dumber Rhetorical Analysis
After performing my informative speech, I immediately felt relieved. Mainly because I finally
completed the assignment. I felt a little nervous and shaky, but I practiced so I knew I wasn t going to
mess up that majorly. I went over it several times and changed a variety of things. I couldn t really
think of any visuals except for the video. So at first I had music behind every point I had. Each song
was planned appropriately for the topic of the point. Then, though, I knew that would be a hassle to
deal with between points, especially because I was already over on my time. I estimated that I was
around seven minutes. That was only in the beginning. So after that I apprehended I could do
something from Jim Carrey s movie Dumb and Dumber. The extra gloves act is really funny and

So I asked Jordan, my respectable acquaintance in the crowd, to take my extra gloves and say, Are you

though, before all of that of course, I pondered about three main points of Jim. The most recognizable
is his acting career, but I wouldn t talk about that the whole time. Another was his early life because
countless of people don t know he s from Canada or how he grew up very poor and even homeless.
After those two, I knew that he s been doing some different inspirational talks and speeches. One
certain inspirational type of tour he s performing is named the The Meaning . I ve seen some of his
talks and videos on YouTube and they re pretty interesting so I added that to the end of my speech. To
wrap it all up, I decided to have a visual of a video of Jim Carrey doing an uproarious scene from Ace

trying to beat each other. This finally helps the customers as they have a wide variety of options to
choose from.
The indirect competitors of Air Canada are cruises and trains for longer and shorter distances
respectively. Cruises are known for their luxury and excellent travelling experiences. They are
indirectly competing with airline industry for the same customer base. Also, over shorter distances,
some customers prefer rail services over airlines due to being the cheaper mode of transport.

All Quiet on the Western Front is a Thought-Provoking Tale...
All Quiet on the Western Front, written by Erich Maria Remarque, is a thought provoking tale about
war, and the soldiers who fight these wars. The main character is an 18 year old boy named Paul
Bäumer. Bäumer, growing up in Germany, decides to enlist in the army alongside his classmates after
persuasion from his teacher. His story begins at the front lines of World War One. After two weeks on
the front, Paul s company receives a reprieve from fighting. 80 of the original 150 men in the
company (Second Company) return. During his time off, Bäumer begins to reflect upon the
circumstances that brought him there, his brutal time in training, and the death of one of his close
friends. Over the course of this time of reflection, reinforcements arrive, and Bäumer s company is
redeployed into the front. Paul s unit is forced to go on a wire laying mission. They are bombed, and
lose many recruits on their return to camp. When they return, they learn that Paul and his classmates
former drill sergeant, Himmelstoss, has come to join them in the fight. As he goes to order his former
pupils, two of Paul s accomplices, Tjaden and Kropp, insult him. They go to military court and are
sentenced to two days of jail time, in the camp s makeshift jail. The group, after this, is sent back to
the front two days early along with the rest of the company. They fight for days. Paul laments about

Alcohol Vs Alcohol Research Paper
What is More Dangerous, Marijuana or Alcohol?
In recent times, marijuana has slowly become less and less of a taboo subject. The gradual legalization
has made marijuana a hot topic, both for its recreational uses and medicinal properties. The biggest
questions that remain are, is it dangerous and is it more dangerous than alcohol? Given the length of
time that alcohol has been legal most people would assume that it is the safer option, but is that true?
Risk from Alcohol
While alcohol may be readily available to anyone over the age of 21, it still comes with risk both to
your judgment and health. According to the CDC, excessive alcohol consumption leads to around
88,000 deaths annually. Alcohol consumption comes with both long term and short term effects on a
person, such as:
Impairment of judgment leading to injuries from motor vehicle accidents, drowning, falls and physical
instability.
People who are under the influence of alcohol may become violent, which has led to murder, assault
and sexual assault.

Mark And Luke Essay
LUKE
As I stated before some scholars believe that Luke uses Mark as his soul source when composing this
story in his Gospel . If we assume that fact to be true then there should be no reason that there are
differences between the stories, but that is not the case. Luke makes changes to the narrative, and
some of those changes could cause the reader to see a different focus of the text. Luke Johnson points
out that in his Gospel Luke cleans up the language of the text making the story flow better but in
doing this he also omits several of the descriptive details that Mark uses, and these omitted details
may make the actions taking place in the text seem weaker . This means that when Luke chose to

In this verse Matthew uses interesting grammar he says and suddenly the whole herd rushed down the
steep bank into the sea and perished in the water. (NRSV) This is grammatically interesting because
the word rushed is a singular verb, and perished is a plural verb . France says that unlike the narrative
in Mark, and Luke Matthew does this to emphasize that the swine and the demons were both killed . I
think that this ties in well to the idea that Matthew chose to focus on Jesus s power over the
supernatural instead of this being a miracle that he preformed in gentile

How The Gap Between Healthcare And Technology And Help The...
ABSTRACT
Healthcare sector is facing plethora of challenges ranging from poor infrastructure to population
explosions, large masses of population shifting from rural to urban area etc. Traditional facilities
makes user confined thus restricts user movement especially elderly people. Our goal is to increase
medical efficiency and reduce burden on healthcare infrastructure. We intend to create a prototype of a
self sufficient health monitoring system which requires low investment for development and provide
quality healthcare at the same time. For proposed system, Arduino Mega 2560 processor is used along
with various sensors and data transmission system. Sensors used are accelerometer, body temperature,
heart rate and Electrocardiogram which gives basic patient monitoring data. Attached LCD displays
various health related parameters. Interactive mobile app is developed on android platform which
displays parameters. Received data can be transmitted remotely for further analysis also help doctors
monitor overall health of their patient remotely while transmission system ensures safety during
critical times. Through our project, we want to bridge the gap between healthcare and technology and
help the masses stay fit and healthy.
INTRODUCTION
Current methods of providing medical assistance are based on person physically present in the
hospital and constantly monitor physiological parameters. Lack of number of doctors is the major
problem in most of the hospitals especially in

Kobe Bryant is undeniably one of the most dedicated, successful, and greatest basketball players to
ever grace the NBA hardwood. He has achieved what many players only dream of doing, and his list
of accolades could fill an entire book. This success did not come easy for Bryant, like I said before, his
hard work and dedication to the sport of basketball is what made him a legend, that is looked up to by
millions of people around the world.
Kobe admits that the success he has gained has come with many sacrifices. Thousands of hours were
spent practicing dribbling, shooting, and playing defense so he could become a great player in the
league like his father was. Refusing to play in his father s shadow, it is without a doubt that we can say

Development Of Infants And Toddlers
INTRODUCTION
I. I m sure we can all relate to the moment when you first meet a new born, infant or even toddler and
all you can say is Awh how cute he or she is , and how much you just want to pinch those chubby
cheeks or tickle those little toes.
II. Whether you ve had a child of our own, have a younger sibling, or even may have never been
around young children before, we all have our own experiences and unique ways of interacting with
them.
III. These little cute bundles of joy, or maybe occasionally not so joyful at times have much more than
just cute looks. From birth to five years of age they are actually going through a critical period of
development that is a complex and vital to their growth for years to come.
IV. Ever since I was a young girl I have always had a great interest in learning about the development
of infants and toddlers. Now, as I enter my senior year in the Family and Child Sciences Department
at Florida State University, I have gained great one on one personal experience working with children
ranging from zero to ten years old.
As we all might know the obvious physical developmental signs an infant goes through known as
growth. What many may not know is the stages a child moves through known as, child developmental
stages or milestones. This includes how the child becomes able to do more complex things as they get
older. Such as Gross and fine motor skills, Social and Language skills, and lastly Cognitive Skills.

The Advertising Of Love Teams In The Philippines
The advertising of love teams in the Philippines has slowly been changing the Filipino s colonial
mentality mindset because it allows Filipinos to emulate local celebrities instead of foreign ones.
Local and global companies are capitalizing on this, making use of the love team s fame in order to
advertise their products. For global companies, they use glocalization in order to make their product
seem more localized to attract Filipinos. This is effective because Filipinos become attracted to love
teams because they project on to these love teams the traits they find important in themselves and their
surroundings. However, this type of projection can also be negative because of how celebrities in love
teams lose their right to privacy and are made to live up to extremely high expectations. While it is
good that Filipinos are beginning to emulate local celebrities over foreign ones, love teams are not
necessarily a good thing for the local industry. This is because international and multinational
companies are using them in order to advertise their products in a way that attracts those with a more
local mindset. It has come to the point that people often can no longer differentiate what is local and
what is foreign. It also leads to the effect of colonial mentality lessening but the effect of this staying
the same. Keywords: Love Teams, Colonial Mentality, Advertising, Glocalization, Projection

Before Delving Into The Similarities And Differences Of
Before delving into the similarities and differences of each country s approach to teaching math, the
article first discusses some of the cultural differences between the way teaching, as a profession, is
viewed in Japan, the way teachers are trained to become teachers and how the Japanese school system
differs from that of the United States. The article then focuses on several components that contribute
to the ways math is taught, the role of homework and seatwork and how each are viewed, the
materials teachers choose to use to teach their lessons and how they use them, the ultimate goal of
each lesson and how the classroom set up varies from country to country. Each aspect is given its own

Japanese teachers do not create their lessons based upon a series of steps they intend to complete but
by how they predict students will interpret the problem they present to them at every step. Japanese
teachers do not tell their students to what to do or how to approach a problem. Instead, they place
more emphasis on challenging the students to figure out all the possible ways that they could solve a
problem and let them work through it themselves before discussing their findings as an entire class
(Hiebert, et al., 2003). In this manner, the students are applying concepts that they have learned from
previous lessons in order to come to a solution towards a problem that they have never seen before.
Once they have done this, it is believed that they can provide evidence as to why a problem is correct.
In short, it is the Japanese belief that students will not understand the underlying concept of a problem
if they are not forced to figure it out by themselves. Even when they make mistakes, the Japanese
believe it is in the students best interests to complete the problem and then try to make sense of why
their reasoning led them to the wrong answer so that they will not make a similar mistake in the future
(Hiebert, et al., 2003). The American teaching philosophy is vastly different from that of Japan s
teaching philosophy. Instead of allowing students to

expressed in terms of student achievements, enrollments, and applications to the university. Success
measures for research efforts were counts of the numbers of articles published and research grants

budgeted expenditures versus actual expenditures. With his MBA training and long business

Vanity In Pride And Prejudice
Solomon was known as the smartest and wisest man in the world. He became a king of Israel, and
decided that he was going to figure out where happiness is found. He thought that money might be
able to make him happy, so he became the richest man in the world, but he was unsuccessful in his
pursuit of happiness. He then tried alcohol and women, but he was still unsuccessful. By the end of his
pursuit, he eventually determined that happiness could not be found in possessions and money, or any
earthly pleasure. For people in modern times, possessions and wealth are often what guide
relationships the modern life in general. People who put value in material wealth will struggle and
struggle all their lives, but will never be able to find true happiness. Literature and entertainment
provides countless examples of the truth of this statement. For much of their lives, Fitzwilliam Darcy
and Charlie Babbitt show only pride and love for their money and possessions, and until they met the
people who eventually be the most important to them, they weren t able to truly experience love and
redemption from their vain lifestyles.
In both Pride and Prejudice and Rain Man, Charlie and Mr. Darcy show traits of excessive pride and
vanity when they find self worth in their money and social status. When Charlie originally decides he
is going to take Raymond back to Los Angeles from Cincinnati, he is trying to use Ray as leverage so

Analyzing Scientific Argumentation On The Conflict
Resolving The Conflict 1. Need To Elucidate Scientific Argumentation When a subject matter is
described as beyond logic, it is not meant illogical or that it completely lacks the usage of

Between the firing electrons and the wall there was a frame deployed to obstruct the passage of
electrons with two slits that allowed them to pass. Electrons, being particles should hit directly behind
the slit, producing particle like behaviour. Something like this However, the electrons instead
produced wave pattern, which is only possible when a single electron passes through both the slits.
Some of the electrons even hit the area directly behind the barrier. Something like this This showed
that electrons have wave particle duality like the Light and it exists in a superposition which is a state
of potential innumerable possibilities of existence. However, what further astounded the physicists
was when a detector was placed to measure the passage of electrons to learn how it passes through
both slits; the electrons immediately collapsed their wave function and reverted to particle like
behaviour. Physicists then decided to act smart and switched on the detector once the electron had
passed through the slit. But it seemed somehow the electrons knew that it was being detected and it
immediately switched to particle like behaviour by adopting the passage from one of the either slit. In
a nutshell, every time the electron was measured, it dropped its superposition and wave function.
What stumps the physicists is the fact that what exactly counts as measurement that leads the electrons
to change their course. There are no concrete

  • 2. Drug Legalization In The United States Drug Legalization The issue of drug legalization is become increasingly popular in today s society. There are pros and cons of making marijuana legal in the United States, and we are taking the stance in support of legalization. So far, eleven states have decided to pass the law legalizing it, and it seems that more are to follow. Some might pose the question, is this bettering our country or making matters worse? After weighing both sides we agree that legalizing marijuana in the United States would reduce crime rates, overcrowding in prisons, make drug use more safe, and help with health issues. One pro of legalizing marijuana would be the reduction of crime in the U.S. With marijuana being against the law currently, people sell and buy it amongst each other illegally. The punishment for being caught in possession of marijuana is an expensive fine and a night spent in jail. This can also lead to violent crimes such as homicide, rape, robbery, assault, burglary, and auto theft. A recent study shows that legalizing medical marijuana shows no increase in the crime rate of that state. In fact, it may even decrease it. Robert Morris, an associate professor of criminology at UT Dallas, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... According to WebMD, your body already makes marijuana like chemicals that affect pain and inflammation, and marijuana can help those chemical processes work better. In some states, medical marijuana is legalized and prescribed to patients by a doctor for things such as muscle spasms, nausea from chemotherapy treatments, poor appetite and weight loss from certain diseases, and seizure disorders. Recent animal studies have shown that marijuana kills or reduces the size of cancer cells. It even slowed the growth of cancer cells of one of the most serious types of brain tumors. When tested on mice exposed to radiation and chemotherapy for cancer treatment it reduced the negative effects ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The War Of 1812 Pitted Two Western Powers The War of 1812 pitted two western powers against one another, the newly established United States of America and the ancient United Kingdom. Battles raged on for roughly two and a half years, resulting in what many agree ended in a tie. What many disagree with is how the war came to fruition. The two research papers within Retrieving the American Past seek to connect the dots. Firstly, Reginald Horsman cites many concrete reasons behind the warfare: British impressment, calling back the return of American soldiers deemed responsible to serve in the Royal Navy, upon the American army, meddling with maritime trade between the States and European nations (notable France), and inciting or taking part in Indian attacks against the colonies. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Although both papers contain the truth, Horsman s comes much closer to explaining the reasons behind the War of 1812. McCoy speaks through the eyes of the Jeffersonian community, not the entire American population. Due to its smaller scope of the relevancy, Mccoy s paper is less effective than Horsman s. Drew McCoy s paper includes much more depth into the Jeffersonian mindset. The American economy depended largely on the exportation of farm grown items. Clearly, access to foreign markets is a must for success. These markets were made inaccessible by the presence of British ships scattered about the passageways to France and other European countries. Jeffersonians, peaceful by definition, suggested a lengthy embargo. This holdout would put pressure on Americans to manufacture within their country, thus building a feeling of unity. However, the embargo lasted for a little longer than a year and a half, yielding no positive results for America. Jefferson himself was attacked and accused of resisting commercialism. It was soon decided that foreign commerce was best for the country s economic welfare. As McCoy states, the Jeffersonians were presented with two options: ... accept the failure of peaceable coercion to remove restrictions on American commerce and submit to the British orders in council, or they could attempt, through military means, a forcible assertion of America s right to an independent and unrestricted access to ... Essay about The Emergence of Europe The Emergence of Europe In the Early Middle Ages: The Germanic Tribes, the Roman Legacy, and the Christian Church Marina Lundstrom History 114 Western Civilization The World I Due: November 8, 2014 After the fall of the Roman Empire around the fifth century, it took hundreds of years for the western part of Europe to establish a new society. 1 The emergence of this new European civilization during a period known as the Early Middle Ages, included three major components: the Germanic tribes, the bequest of the Romans, and the legislation of the Christian Church. Although these three chief elements contributed to the new medieval empire in the west, the Germanic tribes devastated the seized Roman territory ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Frankish king, Clovis I (c. 481 511) proceeded this succession in Western Europe by his conversion to Christianity and support from the Christian church.11 At first Clovis was urged by his wife to convert to her Christian faith but was further convinced to receive baptism, along with his army, in fear of defeat by the opposing German armies. Grasping on to this new Christian faith, Clovis conquered several of his enemies including the Visigoths and the Alemanni resulting in the expansion of his Frankish rule from eastern Germany to the Pyrenees.12 By the end of his reign, Clovis was able to unify the Frankish tribes under one kingdom and develop a strong alliance with the Christian church. The leadership that was so badly needed in western Europe could only come from the capable leaders of the Christian church at the beginning of the sixth century. The church was the only surviving institution after the Roman Empire was overthrown but it still suffered through the barbaric invasions and disorder from the Germanic tribes. Able to withstand the confining barbarianism were only two ecclesiastical institutes: the monks and the papacy.13 In the joint efforts of the papacy and the Germanic kingship, they were prepared to effectively direct the western European population through ... • 6. Marketing Strategy Of Vodafone Telecommunications: Company Vodafone Vodafone is a British multinational telecommunications company which operates its own networks in 26 countries and has partner networks in over 50 countries. Such a wide range of markets makes Vodafone apply different marketing strategies to satisfy customers needs and make profits from it. This chapter of the essay will focus on EU s and Indian marketing strategies of Vodafone to prove the importance of having different marketing strategies in different markets. The market in the EU is relatively mature compared with the Indian market. In a mature market of telecommunications the number of consumers of a mobile network is relatively steady. On Financial Times website, in Daniel Thomas s (2014) article Vodafone continues its evolution and widens European foothold , he describes the marketing strategy of Vodafone in EU specifically. Now the main strategy in EU is about expending Vodafone s business to other fields including the broadband and TV markets. In order to realize the business expending Vodafone began to purchase other companies like Ono of Spain, Cable Wireless Worldwide in the UK and Kabel Deutschland in Germany which provide such service to customers. Also Building Vodafone s own network in Italy, Spain and Portugal is another strategy used for business expending. Daniel Thomas (2014) mentioned Mr. Colao CEO of Vodafone describes the strategy of Vodafone in EU s market as the next chapter . Mr. Colao also pointed that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Summary Of Untitled By Gerald Dono The painting of Untitled by Gerald Donato displayed in the Taubman Museum in Roanoke allures attention by the chaotic combination of figural pieces and the collided whirlwind of vibrant yellows, oranges, greens, and undertones of black. The background information shares that Gerald Donato was a talented, beloved painter and teacher whose work anticipated references to important art historical developments. Ideological forces, such as familiar cartoon imagery, Steamboat Willie , and formally represented figures, are clearly influences in his work as his interest of hidden subject matter is visually bursted on an oil canvas. He created a blended cartoon like scene of abstraction and figuration by incorporating a mysterious feminine figure Moon face and a recurring character Mr. Man to embody a message of escaping from the spiral cage that represents the constraints in life. Mr. Donato borrowed images from past history and radically transformed these elements through his own blend of abstraction and figures to send a message about the conflict between society and individuals. The artist depicts an initial confusing and weirded out thought for the viewer at first glance, but as one deeply examines the art, the subject matter begins to become more clear. The vision being shared in this non objective painting has a context of placing one in the standing of Mr. Man by gaining height and freedom from the (white) bars that are rising on each level that represent conflict which traps one in a cage of misery. The unbalanced symmetry of having the left side take up more space with little action, and the right side being smaller with the action unraveling, makes the viewer break down each composite perspective. For the left side, the mysterious female muse, Moon Face, has an unproportional face that is almost blushing with shades of light pasty orange, with the mouth wide open. The energetic mood is amplified by the tone of yellow that is splashed in the mouth, representing a loss of words or at a state of disbelief. The female s lower half is created with tints of red that enhances the curves on her body, as if chiaroscuro connects the light and dark contrast to show outline of the breasts, stomach, and hips in ... This company was owned by Max Blank and Isaac Harris. They had a little shop by 1900 and it grew quickly, they moved their business to the ninth floor of the new ten story Asch building. There were approximately 500 workers, mostly immigrant women, worked at the Triangle shirtwaist company. Bessie Cohen, who survived was inside the building and wrote a short story of what had happened. Most women either died from the fire or jumped from a high height. They jumped because the fire trucks ladders could only reach up to seventh floor. The doors were locked to prevent workers from stealing or leaving, thus, they had no escape. To calculate the amount a customer should be willing to pay for one of CMI s new cushion pads, the average costs per real hour of equipment rental, labor, and overhead costs were first taken into consideration (Figure 1). These amounted to an average cost per real hour of $714.00. Next, the average costs per real hour of hidden costs were taken into consideration (Figure 2). According to the case, a contractor could spend 20 to 40 minutes moving the crane into position. This averaged to 30 ((20 + 40) / 2) minutes, or 50% (30 / 60). Similarly, another 10% to 15% was added to cover scheduling delays, mistakes, and other unavoidable problems. This averaged to 12.5% ((10% + 15%) / 2). Considering these percentages, the total hidden costs were $258.75. The total equipment rental, labor, and overhead costs with total hidden costs were $972.75 ($714.00 + $258.75). In other words, the total average cost per real hour was $972.75. Finally, using this total average cost per real hour and the case, the total costs for driving time, replacing pads for both the Kendrick Foundation Company and Corey Construction were calculated (Figure 3). The difference between the total contract costs, excluding total changing time costs, for conventional pads and CMI pads for Kendrick Foundation Company was $30,738.90. In recent times, no sports team has lived up to the title of Underdogs as Leicester City have. When the 2015 16 English Premier League Season began, few could have imagined the shock that was about to follow. A team that had just scraped off relegation last season, had very few financial resources and had a new head coach, went on to perform the greatest miracle seen in English Football history. To put it in perspective, the odds of Leicester winning the English Premier League at 5000 1, was deemed more unlikely than the Second Coming of Jesus Christ by British Bookmakers. Or did these events actually take place? In the play A Midsummer Night s Dream , some might say it s just that a dream. This is what most people may think or may be confused about, but the word dream could mean many things. The magic in the story is used to make it all seem like an unforgettable dream, but many people get to do what they want with a little trickery because of the so called dream . Although the play seems to end happily through all of the trials and magic, there is still a debate on how people see the ending as if it was a dream or if it was real. This play shows how weak minded people can be, the fairies are like the voices in our head telling us what we want to believe instead of the reality of the situation. Though Shakespeare wants to establish that the past four days were only a dream, he made it as if the audience and the main characters were just being used as puppets . The audience is characterized as the main characters with a simple human mind, while Shakespeare is the fairies with magic and a mischievous mind. Shakespeare states, Puppet! Why so? I believe that utilizing the Vineland Adaptive Behavior Assessment will provide a clearer picture of Scott. The Vineland test would be the most appropriate test to give Scott because the Vineland test is used to measure personal and social skills from birth to adulthood (Manohari, Raman, Ashok, 2013). It is important to note that Scott is in 1st grade and there is very limited academic pattern for him. Taking this assessment will allow teachers and parents to obtain a greater interpretation of Scott. The assessed adaptive behavior done by Vineland is communication, living skills, socialization, and motor. According to the case study these are also the domains in which the parents and teachers have concerns. Because there is a family history of ADHD Vineland remains an appropriate choice of assessment because it addresses intellectual and developmental disabilities as well as autism spectrum disorder and ADHD. Vineland also provides educational and treatment plans (Manohari, Raman, Ashok, 2013). Therefore, it is necessary that all aspects of a student development are looked at in order to make a n appropriate diagnosis. This includes language, social skills, attention, behavior, mood, academic skills, social skills, play skills and motor skills (Manohari, Raman, Ashok, 2013). Having a thorough assessment allows for all areas of development to be addressed to obtain a clear picture of the student. He started with nothing except his mother as his only positive motivation in his early years. Arnold wasn t going to stop until he was the best at everything he wanted to be. He was the younger of two kids and his dad would regularly beat him because he was the least athletic of the two. The brothers would fight all the time, the only relationship he had with his family was his mother who taught him how to be the best he could be. These are all words that are used to describe the endless suffering of the Jewish people. But what not many people know of are the dark and sinister scientists that were behind a lot of this genocide. Thousands of people, murdered. Not the citizens that were plastered on the headlines of every Newspaper, but the victims who suffered in silence. The innocent people that were tortured, degraded, and experimented on by one man: Dr. Josef Mengele. This man, or monster, rather, was no striking character in the beginning. Living his early life as the average Joe, and the rest of it a criminal, he is raw proof that science, the beauty it is, can be used in the ugliest manner. Josef Mengele, born on March 16, 1911, was an ordinary man. Josef was the oldest brother of 3, and the son of Karl Mengele, who, as stated in Posner Ware s novel Mengele: The Complete Story, founded a company, Karl Mengele and Sons that produced farming utensils. Paul Revere Contributions Paul Revere s contributions before and during the American Revolution were so important that without them the history of the United States could be very different today. As a member of the Sons of Liberty and founder of the Mechanics , Revere was successful employing propaganda, code and cipher, and an early warning system to aid colonists in the defeat of the British. However, it is Paul Revere s midnight ride, warning of the British advance on Lexington and Concord, that he is most remembered for. And Revere s contributions as the first intelligence operative supported the success of the colonists before and during the American Revolution. But what if Paul Revere never took that midnight ride? How would the lack of intelligence resources affected the result of the first battle of the American Revolution? The paper will examine how the outcome of the American Revolution would have changed without Paul Revere s actions and contributions of intelligence and intelligence assets. The Battle of Lexington and Concord On the night of 18 April 1775, hundreds of British troops set off from Boston toward Concord, Massachusetts, to seize weapons and ammunition stockpiled by American colonists. Early the next morning, an advance guard of nearly 240 British soldiers reached Lexington. Paul Revere s famous ride ahead of the British departure from Boston alerted a group of nearly 70 minutemen along the route from Lexington through to Concord. When the British finally arrived the ... Luke Johnson points out that in his Gospel Luke cleans up the language of the text making the story flow better but in doing this he also omits several of the descriptive details that Mark uses, and these omitted details may make the actions taking place in the text seem weaker . The Advertising Of Love Teams In The Philippines The advertising of love teams in the Philippines has slowly been changing the Filipino s colonial mentality mindset because it allows Filipinos to emulate local celebrities instead of foreign ones. Local and global companies are capitalizing on this, making use of the love team s fame in order to advertise their products. For global companies, they use glocalization in order to make their product seem more localized to attract Filipinos. This is effective because Filipinos become attracted to love teams because they project on to these love teams the traits they find important in themselves and their surroundings. However, this type of projection can also be negative because of how celebrities in love teams lose their right to privacy and are made to live up to extremely high expectations. While it is good that Filipinos are beginning to emulate local celebrities over foreign ones, love teams are not necessarily a good thing for the local industry. This is because international and multinational companies are using them in order to advertise their products in a way that attracts those with a more local mindset. It has come to the point that people often can no longer differentiate what is local and what is foreign. Japanese teachers do not tell their students to what to do or how to approach a problem. Instead, they place more emphasis on challenging the students to figure out all the possible ways that they could solve a problem and let them work through it themselves before discussing their findings as an entire class (Hiebert, et al., 2003). In this manner, the students are applying concepts that they have learned from previous lessons in order to come to a solution towards a problem that they have never seen before. Once they have done this, it is believed that they can provide evidence as to why a problem is correct. In short, it is the Japanese belief that students will not understand the underlying concept of a problem if they are not forced to figure it out by themselves.
