The Between Austria Hungary And The German Empire
In addition to the treaty of London, numerous other treaties and alliances help explain the
outbreak of WWI. The Dual Alliance between Austria Hungary and the German Empire in 1879
ensured a promise of mutual defense if either side was attacked by Russia, and neutrality if
attacked by any other nation. Italy joined the Dual Alliance in 1882 forming the Triple Alliance or
central powers. Additionally, France formed an alliance with Russia in 1894 and an entente
cordiale, or friendship with Britain in 1904. Subsequently, Britain formed an entente with Russia
in 1907, effectively forming the Triple Entente. This relationship further exacerbated German
fears of encirclement and left if facing a war on two fronts if it attacked or was attacked by one of
the members of the Entente. The nations involved perceived these alliances as a form of protection
and a deterrent to war. However, as predicted by the spiral mode, it only further increased concerns
and decreased trust amongst the belligerents. Additionally, the alliances united the nations together
so that, if one country went to war, the others were obligated to honor the alliance and join their
partners in war (Tuchman). Consequently, the Austro Hungarian declaration of war and attack on
Serbia caused Russia to enter the war in support of its Slavic ally. This drove France to honor its
alliance with Russia and join in war against the Triple Alliance (which Italy subsequently abandoned

Conquest Of Native Americans
What made Native American peoples vulnerable to conquest by European adventures? I think there
were multiple reasons for the Native Americans were vulnerable to conquest. Economic, social
structure, militarily, and medicinally. They were also already in a period of population decline
prior to the arrival of the Europeans. Cahokia s, Aztec s, Inca s and Mayans population where no
were near the size they had been or almost completely nonexistent. Economically they didn t have
the vast trading networks that the Europeans had. They did have some reginal trade but not across
the entire continent. I think had they had a larger trade system they could have helped each other
out technologically increasing their ability to resist some of that conquest.

Exegesis Of Psalm 23
Exegesis on Psalm 23
Introduction:
The 23rd Psalm is arguably the most infamous and popular psalms among people in the western
world. With 1/3 of the worlds population identifying with an Abrahamic faith (Christian, Jews or
Muslin), the psalms play a vital role in the emotions towards God and about God to the believer.
This psalm is neither intermingled with prayers, nor does it complain of miseries for the purpose
of obtaining relief; but it contains simply a thanksgiving, from which it appears that it was
composed when David had obtained peaceable possession of the kingdom, and lived in prosperity,
and in the enjoyment of all he could desire. That he might not, therefore, in the time of his great
prosperity, be like worldly men, who, when they seem to themselves to be fortunate, God in
forgetfulness, and luxuriously plunge themselves into their pleasures, he delights himself in God,
the author of all the blessings which he enjoyed. And he not only acknowledges that the state of
tranquility in which he now lives, and his exemption from all inconveniences and troubles, is
owing to the goodness of God; but he also trusts that through his providence he will continue
happy even to the close of his life, and for this end that he may employ himself in his pure
worship. It s a Psalm of journey and of nourishment both along the way and at the end.
Authorship
The Psalm begins with a title ascribing this psalm to David.

Dbq Shays Rebellion
There were many limitations and weakness in this constitution, which led the states to revise the
confederation. Shays Rebellion was one of them. This created a fear in Americans that Articles of
confederation was not powerful enough to protect from these kinds of act and they demanded for
stronger central government. Daniel Shays was a revolutionary war veteran and he wasn t
receiving his pay from the war. Massachusetts government compelled the banks to recover farms
and foreclosure homes from the people, who did not pay and Shays was also facing foreclosure.
So, he planned to take over the courthouse, which was making these rules. He and his people took
over the weapons armory in Springfield and they used these weapons to attack the courthouse. The

Ames Bowdoin, the governor of Massachusetts, organized a military force funded by eastern
merchants, to attack these rebels. The wealthy were worried that the national government under
the Articles of Confederation has no power to stop these kinds of rebellions. There are other
major problems with Articles such as, inability to enforce individual or state tax, unable to enforce
military draft, no control over international trade, and no executive or judicial branch. Law
enforcement, regulating commerce and levying taxes, and administering justice were reserved to
states. Even though it had many drawbacks, there were some successful achievements under the
Articles of confederation. The adoption of ordinance for the sale of government land to settlers
were one of them. The Northwest Ordinance of 1787 includes the bill of right promising trial by
jury, religious freedom, and free from excessive punishment are some of them. It also eradiated
slavery from Northwest of the Ohio River, east of the Mississippi river up to Canada

Assignment 3: Legal and Ethical Considerations in Marketing, Product Safety, and Intellectual
Property

LEG 500: Law, Ethics Corp. Governance
Prepared for: Dr. Ellen Kapalko
03/16/2014
Research three to five (3 5) ethical issues relating to marketing and advertising, intellectual property,
and regulation of product safety.
Marketing and Advertising
Every aspect of the marketing and advertising mix is subject to laws and restrictions. Every
marketing manager will be confronted with how they must address ethics and law. Each marketing
executive knows that rarely are there cut and dry answers to ethical issues that will arise during the
normal course of business. (Lamb, McDaniel, Hair, 2010). One ... Show more content on

The most annoying part of the ads is that the DTC advertising often features celebrity spokespeople,
computer generated characters, or actors portraying happy and satisfied patients. The FDA requires
prescription drug makers to provide risk information in any promotion that qualifies as a product
claim advertisement. (Keeping Watch Over Direct to Consumer Ads, 2013).
Determine who regulates compounding pharmacies under the current regulatory scheme, what the
Food and Drug Administration (FDA) could / should have done in this scenario, and whether the
FDA should be granted more power over compounding pharmacies
The FDA and Compounding pharmacies
Who regulates compounding pharmacies under the current regulatory scheme?
The first element that we must address is what is compounding. Compounding is a practice in
which a licensed pharmacist, a licensed physician, or, in the case of an outsourcing facility, a
person under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, combines, mixes, or alters ingredients of a
drug to create a medication tailored to the needs of an individual patient. Compounded drugs are
not FDA approved. This means that FDA does not verify the safety, or effectiveness of
compounded drugs. Consumers and health professionals rely on the drug approval process to
ensure that drugs are safe and effective and made in accordance with Federal quality standards. (The
Food and Drug Administration) What could / should

A Research On Time Management
In my research of time management, I have come upon several sources that seem to be very
comprehensive in the methodology the authors choose to help achieve better time management.
The methods they suggest do disagree on the usefulness of technology, and whether or not it does
more harm than good, but the sources all agree that the discipline to follow the schedule you have
created is key. The research agrees that people who schedule and manage their time are in general
happier and more satisfied with what they accomplish.
Additionally, the experts agree the first step is to prioritize the tasks you wish to accomplish.
Martha Beck, a writer for Oprah magazine, banks heavily on the ideologies of Professor Randy
Pausch, a computer scientist at Carnegie Mellon University. Pausch made a speech in 1998 titled the
Last Lecture where he spoke about achieving dreams after he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
The other sources do not directly state how we should prioritize, but Pausch set up a very clear
methodical way. Beck believes in Pausch s quadrant system where one creates four categories:
urgent important, important not urgent, unimportant urgent, and unimportant not urgent. After one
has settled on what should go in these categories, one throws out the unimportant not urgent pile
and forgets about it. One then schedules time with the urgent important pile first, then important not
urgent, then urgent unimportant.

appears very little incentive to consolidate. o If Pharmco and Disco are not consolidated, then what
should Pharmco s annual report disclose about Disco? Pharmco has to disclose that they have
contractual control of Disco. Part 2 The Control Question The next set of questions will put you in
the auditor s chair, as you will judge whether Pharmco controls Disco using current GAAP
guidance; these questions will also ask you to determine the motivation for creating Disco. 1. The
concept of control has a long and storied history, starting with the Committee on Accounting
Procedure s (CAP) Accounting Research Bulletin No. 51, Consolidated Financial Statements issued
in 1959. This early statement did not use the term control, but controlling financial interest. This
was generally evidenced by ownership of a majority of the voting shares, and over time, majority
ownership became the de facto indicator of control. Within the last five years, the FASB has
addressed some of these issues regarding Variable Interest Entities and Research and Development
Arrangements. Utilizing the FASB Accounting Standards Codification (which may be accessed at

Compare The Metamorphosis And It s A Wonderful Life
The Metamorphosis and It s a Wonderful Life : The Importance of Family Support The
Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka and the movie It s a Wonderful Life by Francis Copler don t seem
to have a lot in common at first glance. One is an old novella taught in literature classes, and the
other is a Christmas movie, but if you look closer you can see they share common themes of
unhappiness, transformation, and dependence on family support. In both The Metamorphosis and
It s a Wonderful Life the main characters are unhappy in their lives, and go through a transformation
where they see what their lives are like without them. We will examine the characters, the journeys
they went through, and the different outcomes of similar experiences.... Show more content on

Gregor s transformation begins when he wakes up and is morphed into an insect, and watches
his family s lives progress without him able to support himself, let alone them. In both of the
transformations, the two are self sacrificing, and feel unappreciated. They are stuck in what they
see as a dead end job. They are stuck in an unending cycle of work and drudgery, doing something
they hate for others. Then there is a big problem in each of their lives. For George it s the
possible jail time, and for Gregor it s morphing into a giant insect. With so many similarities
between the two stories you might expect the outcomes to be the same, or at least similar, but
they are surprisingly different. The difference between the two transformations can even be
considered extremes. The two are opposites. George Bailey regains his humanity and enjoyment
of life when he finds out how important to others and how loved he really is. He ends up a happy
and wealthy man. Gregor on the other hand loses his humanity after finding that his family can
support themselves and would be happier without him, and thru his family s betrayal and neglect
dies a sad death. George s family base is strong and sturdy, and during his time of need they all

The Characterizations on the English Patient
In Michael Ondaatje s The English Patient, is set before World War II, critically illustrates four
dissimilar characters who meet together at the Villa San Girolamo, an Italian monastery.
Simultaneously, there is a groundbreaking love story happened among those four characters under
that time frames. Those four main people are included, a burned Englishman Ladislaus de Almasy,
a twenty year old French Canadian Army nurse Hana, a Sikh British Army sapper Kip, and
Canadian thief David Caravaggio. However, the burned English man, was called The English
Patient, who is being taken care by Hana in an abandoned Italian monastery. Then, there are two

When he is asked by Hana about his name, he neither answers, nor refuses Hana s assumption.
When interrogated by Caravaggio about his work as a cartographer and a spy at the beginning
of the war, the patient also does not response except the repeated babbling. When admiring the
scene of the desert and the exotic names of the places in Africa, he declares, I didn t want my
name against such beautiful names. Erase my family name! Erase nations. I was taught such
things by the desert (139). His hunger for the erasure of name which reflect the hate of
ownership of the desert is the rejection of homogeneity. Obviously, his desire of discarding the
map and refusing to name the desert appears form his conversations with Caravaggio. As author
says, We die containing a richness of lovers and tribes, tastes we have swallowed, we are
communal histories, communal books .... All I desired was to walk upon such an earth that had
no maps. (261) It is a strange wish for a mapmaker to live on an earth that had no maps. The
cartography is the really true form of labeling to Almasy, who is against labeling others. This
labeling states the process of labeling which affects the way people think of others. The English
patient seems to transcend time, place, and ethnic origin. He becomes a synonym for absence or
anonymity since he has no defining substance of his own, no containing or delimiting skin. The

3 Themes Of Avatar
In the movie Avatar, James Cameron depicted 3 themes that I can see, these themes are
biodiversity, sustainability, energy pyramids. Avatar has a lot of themes but the ones i see and
think are the most important and noticeable are these. This shows us how humans are greedy and
selfish. All they care about is profit and self benefit. Most humans just think about themselves but
one day they will lose everything but the harm they did still affects others. Sustainability is a big
part in this movie because it shows how the environment keeps itself up the energy that flows

Fitness Research Papers
What is the most effect way to increase your physical fitness and improve your health? In the
1970 s jogging became a popular form of fitness. The 1980 s brought us Jane Fonda, Jazzersize,
and other forms of dance aerobics; while Billy Blanks had us punching and kicking our way to
health with Tae Bo in the 1990 s. The new millennium gave birth to Insanity, P90X, Zumba, and
the whole Beach Body franchise. The Army still clings to the idea that running, push ups and sit
ups are the only way to measure physical fitness; while Cross Fit fanatics prefer to lift hard and
heavy. There is so many ways to train, so many fads to wade through in the search for a technique
that works. The conflicting research and opinions when it comes to physical training and overall
health is confusing at best. Mostly, the overwhelming amount of information, techniques, programs,
workouts, self proclaimed YouTube experts, and google search results leave the average American
not knowing where to start or what kind of training would move them towards their goals. One of
the most ardently debated fitness topics is which form of cardiovascular training is most effective
for weight loss; steady state cardio or high intensity interval training. As a Drill Sergeant, there is
always limited time to physically train; an issue most soldiers have, particularly those in combat
zones. Limited by time and equipment, but driven by the constant need to remain in top physical
condition, soldiers are always searching

Abundant Thinking On Practice Is Useful For Multiple...
Abundant Thinking in Practice Abundant thinking is useful for multiple aspects of your
everyday life. You can enjoy your good health and be grateful for it, and if you are suffering
from some sort of ailment, you can seek comfort in the fact that it can always be worse. When
sick, we can remember the good health we enjoyed throughout the past and the good health and
fortune of those we care about most, being grateful for it all. It s about perspective; looking on
the bright side of life and seeing the positive rather than the negatives of our respective lots in
life. How can we continue to think abundantly even during hard financial times? What if you
sign a business contract with someone and are somehow scammed out of your money? It s
natural to mourn the loss of your money and focus on what you lack. We don t live in a perfect
world, and there are people out there who take advantage of other people and are out to rip others
off. Handling this situation as an abundant thinker lessens the negative impact of the hardship of
life. Your intent and focus is always on the abundance of happiness in your life, which will help
dispel negative feelings and negative feelings are most unhelpful. You will need to take action to
resolve your situation, and your attitude can vastly improve and ease the rectification process.
Remember your negative feelings can t hurt people who have wronged you. If you give in to
negative feelings, you are the one robbing yourself of abundance and

renowned party districts in Australia. The facilities which are positioned in Surfers Paradise are

Surfers Paradise is constantly undergoing renovations in order to modernise the Gold Coast and

Paradise does have various first class facilities for people to stay in, but there is constantly
construction being done, which can repel business for companies and business that rely on a
constant tourist flow. Local businesses are not the only people to suffer from the noise of

The Problem With National Breast Cancer Awareness Month
The Real Awareness of Pink Ribbon Month: A critique of Robin Hilmantel s The Problem with
National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Even though breast cancer is an important issue in today
s society and there are different organizations and charities that raise money for breast cancer; the
pink ribbon is something that causes a variety of problems. In her article The Problem with
National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Robin Hilmantel makes an effective argument and uses
pathos to reach out to women by showing the perspective of a real person who was suffering from
breast cancer, as well as use symbolism to argue how the pink ribbon is being used in a misguided
way. However, she does not have a well developed thesis and her evidence does not present any
citation or where she got the information from which gives doubts on her credibility. Hilmantel
begins her article with a statement that catches the audience s attention and makes them think about
the pink ribbon movement that occurs every October; but she does not introduce her thesis until
she mentions her argument which is that there is a problem in how the pink ribbon is being
represented in the National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. She first starts with a story of a
young woman named Kate Petrides, who did not expect to ever have breast cancer at her age.
Throughout the article Hilmantel talks about how the awareness of breast cancer has had different
responses to people. Hilmantel says that different

The Conflict Between Dinamo Zagreb And Red Star
Yugoslavia in the 20th century underwent great political turmoil, unrest, war, and ethnic conflicts.
Throughout the existence of this unstable nation, soccer was the most popular sport with the most
devout supporters. The sport and its various teams held strong ties to the political structure of
Yugoslavia, being run and controlled often by government institutions. It is for this reason that
soccer in Yugoslaviacan serve as a political barometer to understand the underlying concerns,
ideologies, and conflicts that occurred in the country in the 20th century. Not does the sport
mimic the political history of the nation, it was often tied directly to political parties and
ideologies. This essay will look into the inception, rise, and eventual demise of Yugoslavia through
the perspective of soccer and its role in all of it. In particular, the focus will be on the most popular
teams in present day Serbia, Red Star Belgradeand FK Partizan and their rivalry, as well as the
role of the Bosnian club Velez. Furthermore, the clash between Dinamo Zagreb and Red Star will
be shown as a catalyst for the following war of independence. Some contrast to the division and
antagonism will be shown by looking closely at the Yugoslav national team following World War II.
Initially one must look to politically charged club teams in Yugoslavia, such as Red Star Belgrade
and FK Partizan. The history of these teams and their formation is important to consider. At the end
of World War II, most

Theme Of Nature In Victor Frankenstein
Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of

dereliction of his creation even stretching to victor s foil Robert Walton whose feeling of
isolation has familial ties attached to it. Shelley explores the multiple thematic subjects of nurture

Why Did The Viggoth Invade The Greeks
The Visigoths were a part of the german barbaric tribe the Goths. They were settled in the western
part of Germany near the black sea, this was their original origin. Their enemy were The Huns, a
barbaric group from modern day central Asia. This is important information because The Huns
were the reason why the Visigothswent to Rome. The Huns had started to invade and The
Visigoths asked roman emperor Valen for shelter. The Romans were happy with having them there
and they wanted them to assimilate to Roman culture. They ended up settling in an area near
Danube. By 376 CE. The Visigoths began to feel mistreated by the Roman governors and began to
rebel. This barbaric rebellion led to The Gothic Wars between roman forces and the Visigoths.

Connotative Language In Media
Connotative Language in The Media Most words in language have evolved to have at least two
meanings. There is the denotation of a word, which is the literal meaning of the word or its
dictionary definition. Also, all words carry a connotation, which refers to the associations that are
connected to a certain word or the emotional suggestions relating to it. A word s connotationcan
differ depending on context and the region in which it is used. Recently there has been a spike
in the amount of connotative language being used in news headlines. Three headlines that stand
out with their obvious use of connotative language are, NFL kneelers and the left have it all
wrong (Fox News, Sept. 27, 2017), The New York Times has a Communism fetish (The Weekly
Standard, Sept. 26, 2017), and Trump has climate change weirdos everywhere freaking out (The
American Spectator, Aug. 30, 2017). These headlines use connotative language specifically to
create political and cultural bias with their readers/viewers. The first headline that is filled with
biased connotative language is from Fox News and states, NFL kneelers and the left have it all
wrong. The headline is referring to the recent trend of NFL players kneeling during the national
anthem. The players are doing this as a protest against police brutality, the oppression of people of
color, and the criminal justice system; all of which are important causes that should be protested. In

Death In Romeo And Juliet
Shakespeare s play Romeo and Juliet is a tragedy that has many deaths. Two of the most tragic are
Romeo and Juliet. Their death was influenced by many characters inside the play, but some had

Mercutio is responsible by pressuring Romeo into going to the Capulet s party, talking about

Scarlet Letter Women
Mankind creates prejudice against itself through a history of tradition and false beliefs. In turn,
women face the brunt of such aggression and ideology. Arising from the idea of original sin, in
which Eve led Adam to their fall, mankind devolves women into characters of temptation and
seduction, effectively ostracizing and placing the blame on the female gender. In the 19th century
romantic novel, The Scarlet Letter, Nathaniel Hawthorneexamines the effect of the sin and lust on
the identity of women and aims to inspire his audience to challenge the ideas of sin in current
society in order to eliminate gender discrimination and create a world of equality. When an
individual commits an act of sin, the very act leaves its mark on the individual... Show more content

Hawthorne uses his character to show the need for women to stand up against such a system.
Hawthorne builds Hester as a character unimpaired by the misogyny of her society and instead
focuses on her identity as a caring saint and a protective mother. Just as Hester disregard the
harsh words of the people around her, women must do the same and focus on their own identity
in order to truly gain their independence. Instead of society holding women to a standard and
identity establish by it, women must release themselves from their chains and focus on
discovering the very essence of their identity and establish their own selves. Furthermore,
Hawthorne builds his characters as defiant to the very idea of sin itself. Hester embellishes the
scarlet letter and openly displays it to the public (add quote). Hawthorne reveals the need for
women to challenge society s idea of sin. Society passes judgment upon those who violates its
code of conduct. However, the very act itself leads to contradiction and hypocrisy. Society
punishes itself in an attempt to correct and justify themselves in the eye of god. Women must
realize the fatal flaws of such beliefs and not allow society to drag them down into a cesspool of
guilt and repentance. For if women allows sin to dominate their lives, they subject themselves to a
life of loneliness, despair, and constant attacks on their conscience. Hawthorne wishes for women
to accept their sins and in turn uses it as a weapon against the discrimination of society. The
acceptance of sin takes away its power to control and dominates the women s life. By openly
revealing the sin to society, women can take back their identities and limit society in its ability to
hurt them. Furthermore, instead of shying away from the harsh treatment of society, women needs
to resist and confront such oppression. By speaking out about their

Dentist plays a big role in the distribution of oral care products. Colgate Palmolive should more
focus on distribution of toothpaste in dentists offices.
Colgate Palmolive should focus more strongly on other retail locations, even it adapted intensive
distribution there is still scope of other retail location where small unknown brand capture the
market share.
Colgate could direct market the toothpaste by sending special coupons in the mail to consumers, or
by offering rebates to consumers who purchase other Colgate

The toothpaste could be distributed through plastic surgeons because many people who visit a
plastic surgeon are concerned about their appearance, and would likely consider the different
options available to them that will enhance their appearance, such as their teeth.
It could be distributed through make up departments because most people who shop for make up at
large department stores are also concerned with looking their best.

It Was A Nice, Spring Day
It was a nice, spring day in Colorado. Anicia, my wonderful, sarcastic best friend, and I had just
gotten out of school. To the left was the mountains, looking beautiful with just a bit of snow on
top of them and the sun shining from behind. Behind me was the school with hundreds of kids
rushing to make it on the buses in time. Anicia and I were on the way to talk to some of our
friends Thomas, Tristan, and Lexi about some random science project we had to do has a group,
which never did get turned in by the way. Thomas kept suggesting, Let s just go to Alyssa s house

I said to myself. I was just sitting in the sewer looking up at all the people while Anicia was
completely oblivious to the fact that I wasn t with her and that instead, I was in a sewer. But
after all, she is my best friend, so she has gotten pretty good at ignoring me when need be. I
ended up watching a short girl with long tangled black hair, glasses, a hoodie, and headphones

didn t hear me and assumed I was all the way home already. Well Anicia, made it all the way to
my house. She walked in since it was pretty much her house too. She walks in and yells Hi Mom!
to my mom downstairs. My mom assumed that I was with her too, so she yelled back Hey girls!

generate a bond that forces them to protect each other by whatever means necessary. After a treaty

Home Depot s Marketing Strategy Essay
The Home Depot s marketing strategy embraces the do it yourself (or DIY) consumers who
desire to perform household improvements, but who either are not experts in home improvement
or cannot afford to hire a construction professional. Former chief executive officer, Robert
Nardelli, restructured Home Depot in hopes to bring some big company muscle to the
entrepreneurial organization (which, with revenue of $46 billion in 2000, was sometimes
referred to as a $40 billion start up ) and put the retailer s growth on a secure foundation (Charan,
2014). Home Depot s current marketing strategy is also performance focused and has undeniably
been reformed to solid stability. In the past, its share price had fallen below the peak it

The competitive strategy and the marketing functional strategy are tightly intertwined (Parnell,
2017). Home Depot, if it remains strategically focused, will not stop improving. It has the products
consumers need, providing them opportunities to do a variety of household projects, or skilled
employees who provide proficient advice about products, materials and techniques necessary to
perform DIY tasks. Competition that fuels Home Depot s strategic focus are direct competitors
such as Lowe s, Lumber Liquidators, Sherwin Williams and Tractor Supply Company, to name a
few. Home Depot s supply chain is getting more productive, resulting in better gross margins.
Inventory management is key to the company s operations. Each Home Depot store stocks about

Petersel On Peds

athletes caught using PEDs don t face major consequences. He uses this tone to appeal to readers
who might also want change in this topic. This feature should be printed in The Shorthorn because
it will prompt students to look at this issue in a deeper sense and see exactly how important this
issue affects an individual and sport. In this essay, I will talk about how Petersel talked about

(2) A incremental change is very small when compared to a rapid exponential change. He contends
that athletes will continue to take PEDs until they are caught. That was the case of Maria Sharapova
. She began taking Meldonium, a PED, before it was banned and continued to use it afterwards
until she got caught for using it. Petersel believes that the suspensions are lousy way to punish
athletes taking dangerous PEDs while they acknowledge the consequences. Throughout his
piece, Petersel uses many reasons to support his claim and evidences to support his reasons. In
the third paragraph, he uses logical appeals by informing that suspensions don t affect the life of
an athlete as it should for taking a PED. He includes that Sharapova made about 30 million last
year and she only lost some sponsors. She already has a business called, Sugarpova, which sells
candies and expects revenue of 20 million by 2018. He includes visual pieces throughout his

Philosophical Principals Exemplified in The Truman Show...
In order to understand the moral fabric of the world, it is important to question any information
that is given to an individual, instead of blindly accepting the majority opinion and giving it full
credibility and validity based on other people s opinions. Plato s work, The Republic introduces
the allegory of the cave, which is metaphorical scenario that attempts to explain the importance of
questioning norms that may seem trivial. Plato illustrates a cave where bounded prisoners have
lived all their lives in seclusion, away from the outside world. In their immobile state, they can
only look at the wall in front of them which is illuminated by a small fire that has been going on
behind them. The wall constantly projects shadows of people... Show more content on

In an interview, the antagonist claims that, We accept the reality with which we are presented. It is
as simple as that. The quote reflects many philosophical principles that are exemplified in both The
Truman Show and in the Allegory of the Cave.
To start off, the quote addresses the underlying ignorance that is evident in both Plato s and Weir
s works. Truman was living his entire life inside a metaphorical bubble. In many instances
throughout the movie, he ignored any suspicious act that threatened to obscure and interfere with
his concept of reality. For example, as Truman was walking out of his house, he noticed a studio
light that suddenly fell from the sky just as he was about to get in his car. Even though he
questioned it at first, Truman did not really bother investigating or looking into it, perhaps because
he was subconsciously afraid of what he would find. He chooses not to give the random incident
any importance and gets in his car, which further proves his underlying ignorance and reluctance to
accept things that may not conform to the norm. Shortly after, the producers of the show decide to
make an excuse for the set malfunction, and it is soon forgotten. Additionally, when Sylvia tells
him upfront that his entire life is a lie, he chooses to ignore it, until he himself starts to question his
life. In the same way, in Plato s allegory of the

Eukaryotic Cells And Its Functions
Eukaryotic cells are complex and include all animal and plant cells. Prokaryotic cells are smaller
and simpler, e.g. Bacteria (AQA 2008)
Eukaryotic cells contain membrane bound organelles, whereas prokaryotic cells do not contain
these.
Although both of these cells contain DNA, only eukaryotic cells contain a nucleus. The nucleus is
the largest organelle, surrounded by a double membrane (nuclear envelope) containing lots of pores.
The nuclear membrane protects contents of the nucleus and controls the transport of substances in
and out. The nucleus contains linear DNA in chromatin which protects the DNA from damage.
Chromatin is formed of DNA which controls the activities of the cell. The nucleus often contains a
structure called the nucleolus. This structure produces ribosomes which enter the cytoplasm in the
cell through the nuclear pores, as well as transcribing DNA into RNA.
Prokaryotic cells do not contain nuclei. Instead of having a nucleus to carry the DNA, these cells
contain plasmids with circular DNA, as well as having most of the DNA float freely inside the
cytoplasm. The plasmids carry the information necessary to keep the cell alive. For example
including genes that make the bacteria cell resistant to antibiotics.
Both cells transcribe DNA into RNA in order to translate RNA and produce proteins on ribosomes.
Endoplasmic Reticulum is present in eukaryotic cells. There are two types of ER: Smooth and
rough. This organelle is formed of a network of

the study of aerodynamics and gravity Essay
My topic for the science fair is Which falling objects fall the fastest? . Many factors affect the
speed of aerodynamics such as the different forces on the object. The aerodynamics of the object
and the physics surrounding the object. Great scientists have studied falling objects such as Galileo
Galilei and Sir Isaac Newton. I will discuss their lives, experiments and scientific findings.
Aerodynamics is the study of force on an object. It has been called the science of flight.
Aerodynamics consists of two Greek words. Aerios means concerning the air , while dynamis

Why couldn t the apple go up, or left, or right? Why did it go down? In his experiments, he found
that an invisible force is pulling us down and keeping everything on the ground. This explained
why the apple fell down and not in any other direction. Newton figured out that the force keeps
everything on the earth. He discovered that the force even held the atmosphere around the earth.
Newton called this force gravity. For example, when you jump, you come back down to earth. If
there was no gravity, you would float up and disappear into space. He also discovered different
planets have more or less gravity. For instance, Pluto has almost the same amount of gravity as
earth, but the moon has much less gravity than the earth. If you jumped on the moon, it would take
you more time to get down. Since there is less gravity on other planets, their atmosphere does not
keep in much oxygen, thus it is harder to breathe on other planets. That is why astronauts wear
spacesuits, to give them air. Because planets with weak atmospheres cannot hold in much heat, it is
cold on the other planets, except for those close to the sun.
Since we have already figured out who discovered gravity in the physics section, then we will go
straight to what gravity does and how it affects us. Gravity holds the atmosphere. The atmosphere
holds heat and air as well and it blocks us from the sun s harmful rays. Without the atmosphere we
would all die. We would either choke

Factors That Caused the 1997 East Asian Financial Crisis
Factors That Caused the 1997 East Asia Financial Crisis Discuss the principal factors responsible
for the East Asian currency/financial crisis of 1997. In 1997, there occurred certain shifts in
expectations from the market. The regional contagion and confidence led to the East Asian
financial turmoil. In 1990s, it had been reported that the microeconomic and macroeconomic
businesses were not performing as expected. The local and international investors had not held
enough grips into the looming financial challenges to be expected by the financial fragments. These
investors panicked and participated in fraudulent and faulty approaches and policies of operation in
the market through the influence of the International Monetary Fund together with the global
financial body. The financial policies, which were laid by the small businesses within the region,
had failed to bring enough financial performance in the local and international market. For instance,
reports claim that these businesses were not large enough to hold immense support to the structure
of the economy in the region. With time, the stability of the financial structure was brought to
question. This was later contributed by the influences obtained from the international financial
bodies and the International Monetary Fund committee (Corsetti, Pesenti, Roubini, 1999, p.305 6).
The Asian financial crisis refers to a period of the financial crisis that was experienced in Asia as at
July 1997. This crisis

From Outrage By Anne Murray Summary
Anne Murray states that, Women s health is so much more than medical issues; it is cultural,
political, economic, and above all, an issue of social justice (From Outrage to Courage, 2008, p.1).
Women s health is an issue of social justice in a sense that fairness and equality should be
primordial in the health care system. Social justice aims to support the wellbeing of all individuals
regardless of differences. Unfortunately, little has been done to promote and improve women s
health. An analysis of social and economic circumstances that affect women s health in
development reveals that: inequality in health care in terms of poor health and poverty affect the

One of the points mentioned by Anne Murray is how women s health s has been ignored and
neglected. This is a true case. Going back to the olden days and basing my analysis on women as
healers, Witches, Midwives, and Nurses by English and Ehrenreich tells us women s story as
health workers and denounce the history of suppression. Women have always been healers. Even
though they were not licensed with medical degrees, women were nurses and pharmacists. Today,
however, the health care system is a male dominated industry. Because it has become the property
of male professionals, many issues are affecting women and their children. For instance, according
to Murray, female infants and children s access to food and/ or medical care has been neglected
because researchers either view the household as a single entity with uniform internal distribution
or treat newborns as a sex neutral category. This demonstrates that little attention; research and
financial support are given to expand the wellbeing of women and their children. The lack of
participation of women in planning and implementing health care policies and politics has failed to

Ludwig Van Beethoven And Ludwig Van Beethoven s Nine...
Beethoven s Nine Symphonies Introduction Ludwig van Beethoven was a composer and
Pianist of German origin and he is one of the famous composers to date. He is an important
figure in the change between the classical music to Romantic era in Western music. Beethoven
showed musical talent a young age and his father Johann Van Beethoven and composer
Christian Gottlob Neefe were his teachers. At 21, Joseph Haydn became his teacher in Vienna
and he taught him about composition. During his late 20s, Beethoven started to lose his hearing
and this progressed until he was almost totally deaf in his last years. In 1881 Beethoven stopped
performing in public and chose to focus on composing and during this time he wrote some of his
best compositions. Beethoven passed away on March 26, 1827. In August 1845, the Beethoven
monument in Bonn was unveiled making it the first monument ever of a composer. The nine
symphonies are one of his greatest compositions. 1.Symphony No. 1 Symphony No. 1 was a
dedication to Beethoven s early patron named Baron Gottfried Van Swieten. Hoffmeister and
Kuhnel of Leipzig published the symphony in 1801. The symphony is in C major, opus number
21 and was composed between 1795 to 1801. Symphony No. 1 is influenced by Beethoven s
teacher Joseph Haydn and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart but has features that make it stand out as
Beethoven s work. The opening of the Symphony took place on April 2, 1800, in Vienna.
Performance of the symphony takes about 22 to 29 minutes. 2.Symphony No. 2 Symphony No.
2 is in four movements and was written between 1801 to 1802. The symphony is in D major
opus number 36 and is a dedication to Karl Alois, Prince Lichnowsky. This symphony was
written during the time Beethoven s deafness was becoming distinct and he was starting to
realize it may not be cured. Beethoven was residing in Heiligenstadt in 1802.The symphony was
first performed on April 5, 1803, in the Theatre an der Wien in Vienna. A performance can take
33 to 36 minutes. 3.Symphony No. 3 This symphony is in E flat major opus number 55. The
symphony is also known as Sinfonia Eroica in Italian or Heroic Symphony. The symphony is one

Prevalence Rate For Bipolar I Disorder
Prevalence
The lifetime prevalence rate for Bipolar I Disorder is 0.6% and the 12 month prevalence rate is
0.4% of the overall population (Merikangas et al, 2011). The United States had the highest
reported lifetime prevalence of bipolar spectrum disorders with 4.4% and a 12 month
prevalence of 2.8%. In addition, lifetime prevalence rates for bipolar I disorder were found to be
slightly higher in males than in females. While much of the reported prevalence rates for bipolar
disorder are based on adults 18 years and older, Merikangas et al. (2010) reported prevalence rates
in the United States for adolescents including 3.3% for males and 2.6% for females. It was also

In addition, episodes of depression and mania tend to be short and frequent around the time of onset
and then lengthen over time with most people experiencing intermittent episodes throughout their
lifetime (Angst Sellaro, 2000). Since bipolar spectrum disorders are complex in nature, the overall
treatment of this disorder tends to be difficult as nonadherence to treatment is common (Hilty,
Leamon, Lim, Kelly, Hales, 2006).
There are also some gender differences experienced by those with bipolar disorder. Women tend
experience bipolar disorder different from men. Nivoli et al. (2011) reported that in adult onset
bipolar disorder, women generally experience an onset of depression and overall depressive
predominance. In addition, they reported that women tend to experience a higher rate of psychotic
features and suicidality associated with depression. However, men tend to experience higher rates
of comorbid substance abuse and engage in more violent attempts of suicide.
Youth with bipolar disorder tend to experience persistent disease well into their late adolescent
years and adulthood (Wozniak et al, 2010). Individuals with childhood and adolescent onset as
compared to adult onset, tend to be highly correlated with specific illness characteristics including
more a severe course of disease, comorbid anxiety disorders, at least 10 additional lifetime mood
episodes, substance use disorders, and

  • 2. The Between Austria Hungary And The German Empire In addition to the treaty of London, numerous other treaties and alliances help explain the outbreak of WWI. The Dual Alliance between Austria Hungary and the German Empire in 1879 ensured a promise of mutual defense if either side was attacked by Russia, and neutrality if attacked by any other nation. Italy joined the Dual Alliance in 1882 forming the Triple Alliance or central powers. Additionally, France formed an alliance with Russia in 1894 and an entente cordiale, or friendship with Britain in 1904. Subsequently, Britain formed an entente with Russia in 1907, effectively forming the Triple Entente. This relationship further exacerbated German fears of encirclement and left if facing a war on two fronts if it attacked or was attacked by one of the members of the Entente. The nations involved perceived these alliances as a form of protection and a deterrent to war. However, as predicted by the spiral mode, it only further increased concerns and decreased trust amongst the belligerents. Additionally, the alliances united the nations together so that, if one country went to war, the others were obligated to honor the alliance and join their partners in war (Tuchman). Consequently, the Austro Hungarian declaration of war and attack on Serbia caused Russia to enter the war in support of its Slavic ally. This drove France to honor its alliance with Russia and join in war against the Triple Alliance (which Italy subsequently abandoned on the ground that Austria s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Conquest Of Native Americans What made Native American peoples vulnerable to conquest by European adventures? I think there were multiple reasons for the Native Americans were vulnerable to conquest. Economic, social structure, militarily, and medicinally. They were also already in a period of population decline prior to the arrival of the Europeans. Cahokia s, Aztec s, Inca s and Mayans population where no were near the size they had been or almost completely nonexistent. Economically they didn t have the vast trading networks that the Europeans had. They did have some reginal trade but not across the entire continent. I think had they had a larger trade system they could have helped each other out technologically increasing their ability to resist some of that conquest. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Exegesis Of Psalm 23 Exegesis on Psalm 23 Introduction: The 23rd Psalm is arguably the most infamous and popular psalms among people in the western world. With 1/3 of the worlds population identifying with an Abrahamic faith (Christian, Jews or Muslin), the psalms play a vital role in the emotions towards God and about God to the believer. This psalm is neither intermingled with prayers, nor does it complain of miseries for the purpose of obtaining relief; but it contains simply a thanksgiving, from which it appears that it was composed when David had obtained peaceable possession of the kingdom, and lived in prosperity, and in the enjoyment of all he could desire. That he might not, therefore, in the time of his great prosperity, be like worldly men, who, when they seem to themselves to be fortunate, God in forgetfulness, and luxuriously plunge themselves into their pleasures, he delights himself in God, the author of all the blessings which he enjoyed. And he not only acknowledges that the state of tranquility in which he now lives, and his exemption from all inconveniences and troubles, is owing to the goodness of God; but he also trusts that through his providence he will continue happy even to the close of his life, and for this end that he may employ himself in his pure worship. It s a Psalm of journey and of nourishment both along the way and at the end. Authorship The Psalm begins with a title ascribing this psalm to David. A Research On Time Management In my research of time management, I have come upon several sources that seem to be very comprehensive in the methodology the authors choose to help achieve better time management. The methods they suggest do disagree on the usefulness of technology, and whether or not it does more harm than good, but the sources all agree that the discipline to follow the schedule you have created is key. The research agrees that people who schedule and manage their time are in general happier and more satisfied with what they accomplish. Additionally, the experts agree the first step is to prioritize the tasks you wish to accomplish. Martha Beck, a writer for Oprah magazine, banks heavily on the ideologies of Professor Randy Pausch, a computer scientist at Carnegie Mellon University. Pausch made a speech in 1998 titled the Last Lecture where he spoke about achieving dreams after he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. The other sources do not directly state how we should prioritize, but Pausch set up a very clear methodical way. Beck believes in Pausch s quadrant system where one creates four categories: urgent important, important not urgent, unimportant urgent, and unimportant not urgent. After one has settled on what should go in these categories, one throws out the unimportant not urgent pile and forgets about it. One then schedules time with the urgent important pile first, then important not urgent, then urgent unimportant. John Rampton, a blogger for Entrepreneur and an ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Instead of society holding women to a standard and identity establish by it, women must release themselves from their chains and focus on discovering the very essence of their identity and establish their own selves. Furthermore, Hawthorne builds his characters as defiant to the very idea of sin itself. Hester embellishes the scarlet letter and openly displays it to the public (add quote). Hawthorne reveals the need for women to challenge society s idea of sin. Society passes judgment upon those who violates its code of conduct. Women must realize the fatal flaws of such beliefs and not allow society to drag them down into a cesspool of guilt and repentance. For if women allows sin to dominate their lives, they subject themselves to a life of loneliness, despair, and constant attacks on their conscience. Hawthorne wishes for women to accept their sins and in turn uses it as a weapon against the discrimination of society. The acceptance of sin takes away its power to control and dominates the women s life. • 27. Home Depot s Marketing Strategy Essay The Home Depot s marketing strategy embraces the do it yourself (or DIY) consumers who desire to perform household improvements, but who either are not experts in home improvement or cannot afford to hire a construction professional. Former chief executive officer, Robert Nardelli, restructured Home Depot in hopes to bring some big company muscle to the entrepreneurial organization (which, with revenue of $46 billion in 2000, was sometimes referred to as a $40 billion start up ) and put the retailer s growth on a secure foundation (Charan, 2014). He uses this tone to appeal to readers who might also want change in this topic. This feature should be printed in The Shorthorn because it will prompt students to look at this issue in a deeper sense and see exactly how important this issue affects an individual and sport. Petersel believes that the suspensions are lousy way to punish athletes taking dangerous PEDs while they acknowledge the consequences. Throughout his piece, Petersel uses many reasons to support his claim and evidences to support his reasons. In the third paragraph, he uses logical appeals by informing that suspensions don t affect the life of an athlete as it should for taking a PED. She already has a business called, Sugarpova, which sells candies and expects revenue of 20 million by 2018. • 29. Philosophical Principals Exemplified in The Truman Show... In order to understand the moral fabric of the world, it is important to question any information that is given to an individual, instead of blindly accepting the majority opinion and giving it full credibility and validity based on other people s opinions. Plato s work, The Republic introduces the allegory of the cave, which is metaphorical scenario that attempts to explain the importance of questioning norms that may seem trivial. Plato illustrates a cave where bounded prisoners have lived all their lives in seclusion, away from the outside world. In their immobile state, they can only look at the wall in front of them which is illuminated by a small fire that has been going on behind them. The wall constantly projects shadows of people... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In an interview, the antagonist claims that, We accept the reality with which we are presented. It is as simple as that. The quote reflects many philosophical principles that are exemplified in both The Truman Show and in the Allegory of the Cave. To start off, the quote addresses the underlying ignorance that is evident in both Plato s and Weir s works. Truman was living his entire life inside a metaphorical bubble. In many instances throughout the movie, he ignored any suspicious act that threatened to obscure and interfere with his concept of reality. For example, as Truman was walking out of his house, he noticed a studio light that suddenly fell from the sky just as he was about to get in his car. Even though he questioned it at first, Truman did not really bother investigating or looking into it, perhaps because he was subconsciously afraid of what he would find. He chooses not to give the random incident any importance and gets in his car, which further proves his underlying ignorance and reluctance to accept things that may not conform to the norm. Shortly after, the producers of the show decide to make an excuse for the set malfunction, and it is soon forgotten. Additionally, when Sylvia tells him upfront that his entire life is a lie, he chooses to ignore it, until he himself starts to question his life. In the same way, in Plato s allegory of the ... Prokaryotic cells are smaller and simpler, e.g. Bacteria (AQA 2008) Eukaryotic cells contain membrane bound organelles, whereas prokaryotic cells do not contain these. Although both of these cells contain DNA, only eukaryotic cells contain a nucleus. The nucleus is the largest organelle, surrounded by a double membrane (nuclear envelope) containing lots of pores. The nuclear membrane protects contents of the nucleus and controls the transport of substances in and out. The nucleus contains linear DNA in chromatin which protects the DNA from damage. Chromatin is formed of DNA which controls the activities of the cell. The nucleus often contains a structure called the nucleolus. This structure produces ribosomes which enter the cytoplasm in the cell through the nuclear pores, as well as transcribing DNA into RNA. Prokaryotic cells do not contain nuclei. Instead of having a nucleus to carry the DNA, these cells contain plasmids with circular DNA, as well as having most of the DNA float freely inside the cytoplasm. The plasmids carry the information necessary to keep the cell alive. For example including genes that make the bacteria cell resistant to antibiotics. Both cells transcribe DNA into RNA in order to translate RNA and produce proteins on ribosomes. Endoplasmic Reticulum is present in eukaryotic cells. There are two types of ER: Smooth and rough. Why couldn t the apple go up, or left, or right? Why did it go down? In his experiments, he found that an invisible force is pulling us down and keeping everything on the ground. This explained why the apple fell down and not in any other direction. Newton figured out that the force keeps everything on the earth. He discovered that the force even held the atmosphere around the earth. Newton called this force gravity. For example, when you jump, you come back down to earth. If there was no gravity, you would float up and disappear into space. He also discovered different planets have more or less gravity. For instance, Pluto has almost the same amount of gravity as earth, but the moon has much less gravity than the earth. If you jumped on the moon, it would take you more time to get down. Since there is less gravity on other planets, their atmosphere does not keep in much oxygen, thus it is harder to breathe on other planets. That is why astronauts wear spacesuits, to give them air. Because planets with weak atmospheres cannot hold in much heat, it is cold on the other planets, except for those close to the sun. Since we have already figured out who discovered gravity in the physics section, then we will go straight to what gravity does and how it affects us. Gravity holds the atmosphere. The atmosphere holds heat and air as well and it blocks us from the sun s harmful rays. Without the atmosphere we would all die. We would either choke ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 36. Factors That Caused the 1997 East Asian Financial Crisis Factors That Caused the 1997 East Asia Financial Crisis Discuss the principal factors responsible for the East Asian currency/financial crisis of 1997. In 1997, there occurred certain shifts in expectations from the market. The regional contagion and confidence led to the East Asian financial turmoil. In 1990s, it had been reported that the microeconomic and macroeconomic businesses were not performing as expected. The local and international investors had not held enough grips into the looming financial challenges to be expected by the financial fragments. These investors panicked and participated in fraudulent and faulty approaches and policies of operation in the market through the influence of the International Monetary Fund together with the global financial body. The financial policies, which were laid by the small businesses within the region, had failed to bring enough financial performance in the local and international market. For instance, reports claim that these businesses were not large enough to hold immense support to the structure of the economy in the region. With time, the stability of the financial structure was brought to question. This was later contributed by the influences obtained from the international financial bodies and the International Monetary Fund committee (Corsetti, Pesenti, Roubini, 1999, p.305 6). The Asian financial crisis refers to a period of the financial crisis that was experienced in Asia as at July 1997. This crisis ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Women s health is an issue of social justice in a sense that fairness and equality should be primordial in the health care system. Social justice aims to support the wellbeing of all individuals regardless of differences. Unfortunately, little has been done to promote and improve women s health. Women have always been healers. Even though they were not licensed with medical degrees, women were nurses and pharmacists. Today, however, the health care system is a male dominated industry. Because it has become the property of male professionals, many issues are affecting women and their children. For instance, according to Murray, female infants and children s access to food and/ or medical care has been neglected because researchers either view the household as a single entity with uniform internal distribution or treat newborns as a sex neutral category. This demonstrates that little attention; research and financial support are given to expand the wellbeing of women and their children. Beethoven s Nine Symphonies Introduction Ludwig van Beethoven was a composer and Pianist of German origin and he is one of the famous composers to date. He is an important figure in the change between the classical music to Romantic era in Western music. Beethoven showed musical talent a young age and his father Johann Van Beethoven and composer Christian Gottlob Neefe were his teachers. At 21, Joseph Haydn became his teacher in Vienna and he taught him about composition. During his late 20s, Beethoven started to lose his hearing and this progressed until he was almost totally deaf in his last years. In 1881 Beethoven stopped performing in public and chose to focus on composing and during this time he wrote some of his best compositions. Beethoven passed away on March 26, 1827. In August 1845, the Beethoven monument in Bonn was unveiled making it the first monument ever of a composer. The nine symphonies are one of his greatest compositions. 1.Symphony No. 1 Symphony No. 1 was a dedication to Beethoven s early patron named Baron Gottfried Van Swieten. Hoffmeister and Kuhnel of Leipzig published the symphony in 1801. The symphony is in C major, opus number 21 and was composed between 1795 to 1801. Symphony No. 1 is influenced by Beethoven s teacher Joseph Haydn and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart but has features that make it stand out as Beethoven s work. The opening of the Symphony took place on April 2, 1800, in Vienna. Performance of the symphony takes about 22 to 29 minutes. 2.Symphony No. 2 Symphony No. 2 is in four movements and was written between 1801 to 1802. The symphony is in D major opus number 36 and is a dedication to Karl Alois, Prince Lichnowsky. This symphony was written during the time Beethoven s deafness was becoming distinct and he was starting to realize it may not be cured. Beethoven was residing in Heiligenstadt in 1802.The symphony was first performed on April 5, 1803, in the Theatre an der Wien in Vienna. A performance can take 33 to 36 minutes. 3.Symphony No. 3 This symphony is in E flat major opus number 55. The symphony is also known as Sinfonia Eroica in Italian or Heroic Symphony.
