2. Impact Of Martin Luther And The Reformation Of The Church
Martin Luther and the Reformation of the Church Martin Luther did many things. He was one of the
first people to defy the Catholic Church and its pope annd his writings pursaded other people to do the
same. He translated the New Testament from Latin to German so common people could read it, not
just clegery. Without him, the church would have been very different, as would daily life in the
Renaissance and possibly today. Martin Luther was one of the most important people in the
Renaissance and the reformation of the Catholic Church. Luther s writings challenged the legitimacy
of the Catholic Church. He challenged the pope saying that the Bible is the only authority Christians
should follow. If the pope s teachings went against the Bible, ... Show more content on

Luther responed with the famous Here I stand. God help me. I can do no other. Charles V declared
Luther a hetric, called for his execution, and the papal Bull Exsurge Domine which ordered Luther s
writings to be put on the Index. The Index Librorum Prohibitorum, or Index was created. It was a list
of forbidden books published by Pope Paul IV. There was also an Index Expurgatorius: a list of books
that were OK as long as certain passages were removed. Another extreme action taken by the church
was the Inquisition. The Inquisition was started to find and punish heretics. It was a search organized
by six generals hired especialy for the Inquisition. One of the generals was the infamous Tomás de
Torquemada. If the Inquisition found you guilty, your puishments could range from exucution to the
church taking your property. Despite all this, Luther managed to hide, and from safety, keep writing.
He translated the Latin New Testament into German for the common people. This was probably his
biggest favor to the reformation of the church. Luther didn t set out to start a rebelion against the
church, but he did, and changed the world he lived in. With the New Testament and later the Old
Tesament printed in German instead of Latin, normal people could read the Bible and interpert its
teaching for themselves. Some, upon realizing the corruption of the Catholic Church and the need for
faith to receive forgiveness, joined a new domination called Protestants.

3. The Abolishment of Slavery Essay
Abolishment of Slavery Slavery was caused by economic factors of the English settlers in the late
17th century. Colonists continually tried to allure laborers to the colony. The head right system was to
give the indentured servant, a method of becoming independent after a number of years of service.
Slavery was caused by economic reasons. Colonists chiefly relied on Indentured Servitude, in order to
facilitate their need for labor. The decreasing population combined with a need for a labor force, led
colonists to believe that African slaves were the most efficient way to acquire a labor force that would
satisfy their needs. Slaves were people who were taken from their homeland in Africa and brought to
America, to serve as servants on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During the time around 1850, tensions were rising on the issue of slavery between the North and the
South. New states were being admitted to the United States, but the decisions to make them a free
state or a slave state were what really mattered. As an example, California was admitted to the Union
as a free state, and this angered the south very much because slavery was a very important factor to
the South s economy. The Compromise of 1850 was developed to help soothe the tensions on each
side. This Compromise had several provisions: California was admitted to the Union as a free state;
the territories of New Mexico and Utah were created without restrictions of slavery; the slave trade
was abolished in Washington, D.C.; Congress passed a stricter fugitive slave law. This compromise
showed just how important slavery was to each side, and it gives us a good idea of why it could be
important as one of their goals during the Civil War. With slavery in mind, it brought about ideas of
succession to the South. Because the South was scared of Lincoln abolishing slavery, they thought it
would be a wise decision to secede from the Union. In fact, Lincoln had no plans of abolishing
slavery, but stated that it should not spread to the territories. The South basically misunderstood and
decided to secede anyway. The reason slavery was so important to the South, and lead them to break
apart from the Union was that it

5. The Discovery of X-Rays Essay
The Discovery of X Rays
X rays were discovered by accident in 1895 by the German physicist Wilhelm Conrad Roentgen.
Roentgen was already an accomplished scientist with forty eight published papers. He had a reputation
among the scientific community as a dedicated scientist with precise experimental methods. Roentgen
had been conducting experiments at the University of Wurzburg on the effect of cathode rays on the
luminescence of certain chemicals. Roentgen had placed a cathode ray tube, which is a partially
evacuated glass tube with metal electrodes at each end, in a black cardboard box in his darkened
laboratory. He sent electricity through the cathodre ray tube and noticed something strange his
laboratory. He saw a flash of light ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During an experiment he placed his hand between the source of the X ray, the cathode ray tube and a
screen and saw the faint outline of the bones of his hand. It was the first X ray picture. The more dense

that photographic plates were sensitive to X ray as they are to light and was thus able to make the first
X ray photography. These first Roentgen exposures were of various metal objects that were locked in
a wooden case and of his wife s hand.
On December 2, 1895, Roentgen sent his paper titled, Concerning a New Kind of Ray: Preliminary
Report to the Physical Medical Association who published it in their 1895 volume of the minutes of
the association. His report was soon published in several magazines around the world and in daily
newspapers causing a tremendous stir. On January 23, 1896, about a year before the Invisible Man
was published, Roentgen delivered his first public lecture on X rays at the meeting of the Physical
Medical Association. During the lecture, he asked a well known anatomist to have his hand
photographed using X rays. The photo came out good and was passed around. The hall erupted in
applause and cheers for Roentgen for everyone saw the practical uses of this new ray. Less than

Critically Assess the Strategy of Argos
Business strategy is a decision a company takes in order to create and maintain value by coordinating
business resources and finding ways to develop and capitalise on the organisation s competitive
advantages over a period of time (Grant, 2014). However, these strategies can be affected either
positively or negatively with a major decision such as mergers and acquisition or political, social and
technological factors. Hence, this essay will critically assess factors affecting the strategy of Argos.

Another way to assess the market for a business is through PEST analysis. Where PEST stands for
political, economic, social and technological factors which can influence a business strategy (Grant,
2014). Political uncertainty fuelled by Brexit (the decision of the UK to leave the EU) will affect the
immigration status of some employees, with Argo s risk losing some of its employees. A possible
adjustment of trade regulations, federal minimum wage or requirement for permits and licenses will
impact Argos operations. For example, if companies must pay considerably to sponsor work permit
for their non UK employees or must carry out periodic sustainability assessments (Business.hsbc.uk,
2017). The company will spend a lot of time and money to comply with regulations, ultimately
proving ineffective and will affect business aims and objective. However, such regulations could
prove useful in shifting manufacturing to the UK and hence a supply chain that is robust and
sustainable, leading to a more flexible cost base. In an economic sense, the sharp drop in the value of
the GB pound against the US dollars resulting from the knock on effect of Brexit will lead increase in
supply chain costs since UK retail is to a large extent dependent on imports, most of which are
purchased in US dollars, ultimately leading to an inflexible operational cost

7. The Survival Of Organisms Depends On Adaptive Behavior And...
Survival of organisms depends on adaptive behavior and species interactions. Taxis is less or more
automatic movement towards or away from a stimulus or direct movement. An example of taxis is
when a plant is put by a windowsill. The plant grows towards the light. Another example is when
stream fish automatically swim upward in the upstream direction. This example is considered positive
taxis. This type of taxis allows the fish to swim in the direction of food and allows them to not be
swept away. Kinesis is a simple change in activity or turning rate in response to a stimulus or random
movement in response to stimulus. An example of kinesis is when sow bugs become more active in
dry areas and less active in humid areas. Sow bugs does vary depending on humidity, however sow
bugs do not move toward or away from suitable moisture levels. Both taxis and kinesis will guarantee
that organisms will remain in environments that increase their chances of survival. When organisms
are put into critical conditions its activities will decrease, although when an organism is put into
positive conditions the organism will stay in that condition for the longest time possible. This behavior
will increase the survivorship of individuals of a species. Migration is a regular long distance change
in location. During migration many animals pass through environments that they have not formally
been too before. Migration can be caused by seasonal changes. For example, some bird species

Climate change is affecting humans every day, and yet most of us have found that every region of the
globe is affected in some way or another. For us here in San Diego, California, in the Western
Hemisphere, on the west coast, United States, North America, that impact is felt mostly with rising sea
temperatures and rising sea levels. There are noticeable predictions that by 2050, rising sea levels here
will rise as stated: At least a 16 inch sea level rise is expected in San Diego, Ca by 2050, with a
projected rise of 50% by the turn of the century. San Diego, Ca has several beaches locally therefore
this is a concern here. There are multiple beachfront properties and businesses that would be impacted
by loss of profit margins, and potentially flooding if this was to occur. The property losses would
potentially be in the millions and this does not take into consideration the impact that sea mammals
would feel. By 2100, the projected sea level rise (SLR) would be 5 meters above normal...and some
widely projected margins estimate those 7 23 inches possible for SLR in the coming years. The Fourth
Assessment (4AR) by the IPCC of 2001 gives these projections for the 21st. century. Certainly not

We live in a society today where people judge us of our mistakes even when they possibly have worse
mistakes than us. Along with these judgings are the consequences we face for our mistake, sometimes
worse than others but we must face them nonetheless. In The Scarlet Letter, Hester Prynne has to deal
with these things in a society where church and law were the same. In a more modern day society
Naomi Campbell a well renowned model had to deal with the judging and consequences of mistakes
she made just as Hester did. Both of these women had made mistakes in which the separate societies
they lived in heavily judged them. Not only were they judged but, they were legally persecuted.
Naomi s persecution somewhat lesser than Hester s but, nonetheless they were persecuted for their
wrongs. Naomi and Hester both made mistakes but their mistakes were completely different. Hester as
a shop owner explained to Chillingworth Marry good sir, in some two years, or less, that the woman
has been a dweller here in Boston, no tidings have come from this learned gentleman, Master Prynne;
and his young wife, look you, being left to her own misguidance had committed adultery (Hawthorne

known nationwide thanks to the press which has said in the fashion world Naomi Campbell has been
accused more than once of using her cell phone as a weapon , this news, told her mistake to the world

Archaeologists have discovered nine 1,400 year old bronze coins that may have been hidden by
Christians trying to escape Persian invaders on a highway leading to Jerusalem in Israel. In June, the

Highway 1 situated between Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. The scientists found a two story structure, a
winepress, and nine bronze coins that ate back to the 7th century C.E., Haaretz details. The
archaeologists think that the ancient coins belonged to Christians who hid them as they were trying to

archaeologists date the coins. Earlier this month, Live Science published a story on the discovery of a

Children on the playground are often quick to react to perceived violent actions by fellow youth.

however, the unanswerable question was: How long, and how any lives, and how much destruction
would there be before the Axis powers capitulated Bridger, S. (2016)? Like children on the

close to the brink of destruction the world is (Dr Strangelove, 2016). The movie ends with the actor

Smart Cars
Gartner has estimated that by 2020 there will be 250 million connected cars on the worlds roads,
which has left a considerable asking questions about the safety of autonomous vehicles (Scott). An
autonomous vehicle is a mode of transportation that does not need a person driving it.
Cisco s Smart Connected Vehicles division has a hypothesis which states that autonomous cars could
eliminate as 85 percent of head on collisions. One of the greatest problems that smart cars face is
getting people to trust them. In a study conducted by Carlnsur, it found that 80 percent of people
would not purchase a self driving car if they had the option, citing their main reason of opposition as a
lack of trust in the computer to get them to their destination safely (Young).
Furthermore, because the cars will be able to communicate with each other Cisco believes that the
traffic would be lighter and therefore save drivers time spent in traffic. Henceforth, by cars spending
less time in traffic there will be less carbon released into the air and fuel costs will decrease, which
will lead to a more sustainable environment.
Smart Trains
Nearly $30 billion will be spent in the next 15 years on the IoT projects in the railway industry,
according to Cisco. This is expensive because extremely old infrastructure will need to be replaced
with cutting edge technologies. The new IoT technology will be able to allow for more productivity
and a safer ride.

13. The Roaring Twenties By F. Scott Fitzgerald
The Roaring Twenties were a time of leisure and parties. The media and events surrounding this time
period greatly impacted the carefree, extravagant lifestyle. This era was one of the most dramatic and
energetic times in American history. To many, the symbols of the roaring Twenties were F. Scott
Fitzgerald and his wife, due to their tales of the young and the wealthy (Hanson 96). The Roaring
Twenties influenced many literary works, throughout the 1920s such as F. Scott Fitzgerald s The Great
Gatsby and This Side of Paradise.
At the start of the 1920s, prohibition had just begun, banning the purchase, sale, and manufacture of
alcohol. This actually had adverse effects as people began to make their own alcohol and sell it
illegally (Hanson 96). World War I had also recently ended, and soldiers were coming home to a
recession in the U.S. The end of the war meant a drop in government spending and exports. Business
bankruptcies tripled between 1919 and 1920. Many businesses were forced to cut wages and lay off
workers (McDonnell 296). As the 1920 recession came to an end, Americans had more leisure time
and money to spare (353). By 1922 the economy had fully rebounded and there was even a shortage of
workers (319). World War I fueled the fire of American s suspicions of foreigners (McDonnell 296).
The Red Scare had Americans paralyzed by the fear of a possible communist infiltration (301). Along

14. Era Of Good Feelings Essay
The Era of Good Feelings was a traditional name given to the years of James Monroe s presidency,
following the end of the War of 1812. Events such as the Louisiana Purchase, which nearly doubled
the size of American land and proved the Federalist party didn t have much as they opposed the
purchase, and fighting against the Barbary Pirates which gained the American navy respect made
people in America proud to be there and led up to the good feelings. The time was mostly
characterized by an increase of nationalistic spirits as the Republican party become the single party in
the United States after Monroe won against Rufus King, his Federalist opponent in the 1816 election.
Nationalism would have a large influence on many features of American culture and economics;
however, there were also many tensions growing during this time as well. There was much discourse
over issues such as the national bank, tariffs, and internal improvements. The Republican party was
the sole party at the time, it was also dividing, with many supporting what was once Federalist
policies. Sectional differences over slavery and states rights would also have a major impact on
politics and economics, with greater importance than the results of nationalistic influences.
Nationalism became a part of society through many different cultural areas. Gilbert Stuart, Charles
Willson Peale, and John Trumball painted revolutionary heroes. Parson Mason Weems wrote a
fictitious biography of George Washington.

Autobiography at an Air Station by Philip Larkin
Progress is in the eye of the beholder. Throughout the years society has forced nature out of its life and
has instead adopted a new mechanical and industrialized lifestyle. Technology may be deemed as
progress by some, where it is thought of as a positive advancement for mankind. Yet technology can
also be a hindrance for society, by imposing itself on society and emptying the meaning out of life. In
Autobiography at an Air Station, Philip Larkin conveys his distaste of how society has denounced
nature. By employing an ironic tone in the sonnet, Larkin comments on the significance of the sonnet

But once again he rebels against the rules and society by breaking the ten syllable count. Though the
overall count of the syllables might be the same as a regular sonnet, he varies the syllable count in
individual sentences such as in line one, where he has only nine syllables, and line six, where he has
eleven syllables. He shows that he is trying to break back into nature. He does not want to follow
form, and be a machine that just regurgitates information, without any real thought. Larkin comments
on what being an individual in society is worth, and how that worth is lost, because no one thinks for
himself or herself anymore. By only changing the syllable count of individual sentences, and not the
whole piece of writing, he is able to show that certain people, like him, are able to break out society s
structure.
Larking uses the extended metaphor by comparing the air station to life. Thus the travelers in the air
station become travelers of life. In the sonnet he says that in the race for seats/You re best alone (line 7
8). These lines symbolize a person in the early stages of his or her life. While a youth, a person feels
the need for power, to get ahead. This need derives form the desire to show that he or she exists and
can survive by surpassing everyone else around him or her. This quote also refers to the political seats
or the positions of power in companies, all of which are part of industrialized society. In life, a person

Though the word Trinity is not explicitly found in the Bible, the teaching that there are three
individual personalities of divine nature (known in the New Testament as the Father, Son, and Holy
Spirit) is thoroughly scriptural and has been generally acknowledged by the writers of Christendom
since the apostolic age.
Around A.D. 190, Theodotus of Byzantium advocated the absolute personality of God. Asserting that
the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit were one person, he sought to propagate his views in the church at
Rome. He is said to be the first representative of Dynamistic Monarchianism whose views have been

The question is: what does Scripture mean by one God? In the Old Testament, the words el, eloah, and
elohim, from related roots, are generic designations of God. The New Testament term is theos.
Elohim , meaning God , is sometimes confused to show the plurality of the Godhead, this is not a
correct interpretation. In the Hebrew words are plural in construction but singular in the way that they
are used. Also the Hebrew often used plural forms to show majesty or greatness of one person or deity.
Even though these are plural words, to say they represent a multiplicity in the Godhead would be
wrong. Historically Hebrew people and there writings are monotheistic. When you are referring to
God using Elohim , it is always used with a singular verb such as is and created which are found in
Genesis 1:1, but the scripture also uses Elohim in pagan references in the Bible, and in doing so it uses
plural verbs with Elohim as well.
These appellations, when used of the true God, simply suggest the nature or quality of being divine
deity. The word God is not the name of a personality; it is the name of a nature, a quality of being.
When it is said, therefore, that there is but one God, the meaning is: there is but one divine nature.
The treatment of God will fall into three parts: first we will consider that which pertains to the

The first installation occurred at a Marsh Supermarket in Troy, Ohio in June of that year. At this point
in time, everything was still entered and handwritten for receipts and bookkeeping, it wasn t until the
mid 1980 s that scanners in retailers became most prevalent over handwriting items. This was in part
due to the major upgrades that occurred in the decade it took to increase scanner usage throughout the
industry. One such improvement was to increase the ability to read the smaller UPC barcodes on the
newer packages. The most important change to scanners was the introduction of a holographic
technique that would allow the scanners to read damaged or wet barcodes, which previously could not
be completed with existing scanner technology. These two major innovations in technology were
initially designed to speed up the customer checkout process and reduce the cost in labor. A good
example of this is the time it normally took to change the price of an item on the sales floor was nearly
cut in half. The employee would no longer have to go to each item with a price gun and manually
change the prices for all items; instead they could just adjust the pricing in the computer system that
ran the scanners and POS (Point of Sale) systems. Currently, scanners are used in all major retail
markets and even in lower, non corporate retail locations, such as a mom and pop owned store in the

wildfires, including the 2017 northern California, the Great Fire of 1910, the 1985 NC Allen fires, and
the 2004 Alaska fires, have occurred. Although many factors influence cause, spread, and stop of
wildfires, humans overall have the greatest impact.
Nature is generally known to cause fires by lighting or other natural causes, but humans are actually
the leading cause of wildfires. According to Conserve Energy Future, nature causes only about 10
percent of wildfires by ways such as lighting or volcanic eruption (Causes, Effects and Solutions to
Wildfires). According to Jennifer Balch, humans cause eight out of ten wildfires (Balch). Humans
have a considerably larger influence on the start of wildfires compared to nature itself. Actions such as
burning debris, engine sparks, and arson, which is setting fire to property, or any other objects, with
the intention to damage them, cause fires. Arson, just by itself, may be responsible for 30 percent of
the wildfires (Causes, Effects, and Solutions to Wildfires). Because humans are the main cause of
wildfires, they have the

21. Dean Smith Potholes Research Paper
On the night of May 23rd, 2015, a 15 year old boy walked home from a party. He was so intoxicated,
that he didn t know where he was going. The boy wandered onto Outer Ring Road and he fell into a
pothole. The pothole was so deep, that the 15 year old ended up in China. On May 28th, the boy
returned home. During his few days in China, the 15 year old boy learned to speak Google Translated
Chinese. 我討厭這些坑洼 he said. Translation: I hate these potholes. On June 23rd, 2015, another
man fell down a pothole. Dean Smith hit a massive pothole, while driving through Topsail Road. This
pothole was so huge that it engulfed his entire vehicle, which was a 1969 Impala. However, Smith did
not end up in China. Instead, he ended up in Nazi Germany. This was really bad news for Mr. Smith
considering that he s gay, transgender, Jewish, and African Canadian. Luckily, Smith manage to return

After running scientific experiments, scientists have concluded that about 50% of these potholes lead
to various points in time, space, and dimension. For months, scienctists had no clue why. That until
now. Back in May of 2015, the Steve Harrison Institute of Technology (S.H.I.T) has developed a new
piece of technology to help students with their spelling, grammar, and punctuation. It s called
Spellcheck 2.0. Every time a student misspells a world, or uses incorrect punctuation or grammar, they

22. Oedipus The Cave
In Plato s Republic, Socrates describes a cave in which men are chained to the ground to the point
where they are not able to move at all, save for their eyes. These men spend their lives staring at the
wall of the cave where shadows are projected due to clay figures sitting atop of a wall behind the men
while a great fire blazes behind the wall, casting shadows of the clay figures on the cave wall. Due to
watching the shadows on the wall for so long, the men perceived the shadows as the Truth. Outside of
the cave, there are hills, trees, lakes, people, the sky, stars, the moon, and the sun. If one of the men
were to be unchained and dragged out of the cave and into the outside world, he would see that the
shadows are not the Truth but ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Jocasta, Oedipus mother and wife, met her demise when she learned that the man she wedded was the
child she gave birth to and left to die. After learning that the messenger was given a child by the
servant of Laius, Jocasta tries to deny everything and advises Oedipus not to investigate the mysteries
surrounding his birth any longer. My suffering is enough (Sophocles, ln 1165), Jocasta realizes that
she bore Oedipus and urges Oedipus to end the search for she knows he will not be able to bear the
truth, but he ignores her and out of anger the queen storms through the palace doors (Sophocles, ln

when the horrible truth was revealed, Jocasta was unable to bear it and killed herself (Sophocles, ln

25. Suicide Is The Second Most Common Form Of Death Essay
Suicide is the second most common form of death in adolescence. Flip through any peer reviewed
journal article, and you will see that this is not just a myth. In fact, in Canada, 10.3 adolescent males
and females take their life for every 100,000 people in the national population every year (WHO,
2007). In the United States, that number is almost double at 17.8 adolescent males and females for
every 100,000 individual aged 15 24 (WHO, 2007). For over the last decade, researchers from all
parts of the world have been at work trying to piece together what it is that triggers and pushes
teenagers into making the ultimate decision and take their life. In Norway, researchers came up with
four possible factors: the parents regarding poor communication, previous suicidal ideation, alcohol
and drug abuse, and frequency and variances of depression and mental disorder developments
(Herrestad, Mehlum, Nrugham). In support of the finding, adolescents in Thailand who had attempted
suicide claimed that they had done so due to severe parenting criticisms, which threw them into a state
of depression and rendered them uncontrollable of their actions and emotions (Arunpongpaisal,
Rungreangkulkij, Sukhawaha, 2016). In another study conducted in the United States, Caucasian and
Hispanic adolescents between the ages of 13 and 18 claimed they were 1 1/2 times more likely to have
suicidal thoughts if they fell into an addiction with alcohol after having been sexually assaulted

e of 1914. However, on the day of Christmas Eve of 1914, many sections of the western front share
peace through an unauthorized truce. The Scottish, German and French troops peacefully meet each
other in the area of No Man s land where gunshots would usually instantly kill their opponent. The
truce allows everyone to bury the men who have died from the war. More events take place as men
play soccer together to show respect. Singing also takes place as christmas trees are set up in the
trenches. The superiors become aware of this official truce which causes all of the soldiers that have
partaken in the Western front truce to face heavy punishment for their acts. The movie Joyeux Noël

The movie showed a large area for soldiers to play soccer together. The opposing war teams would
often go together to play soccer. However, reports show that the conditions of the ground as well as
the barbed wire and more made it very unlikely for an organized game of soccer to take place. There is
no evidence from unit war diaries and regimental histories that the soccer games have taken place.
This is a significant historical inaccuracy because the soccer scene was a major scene that showed
how close the soldiers were able to get. This largely impacts the movie because like the other evidence
mentioned earlier, the audience will not be able to comprehend the motions of the soldiers if this scene
were to be removed. This scene was important because it emphasized the war relationship and defined
how every soldier was just a regular human who is forced to fight. Furthermore, the movie shows the
trenches looking not in bad terms. The movie showed soldiers being fairly clean and comfortable. The
soldiers were seen fairly clean and were not suffering any diseases. However, in WWI, the trenches
were very dirty as it was an area where soldiers slept, ate, fought, got sick and went to the bathroom
in. All of this was done in one area, the trenches. There were rats and lices in the trenches

27. Injustice In Roswell, New Mexico
In the summer of 1947, a rancher in Roswell, New Mexico, by the name of Mac Brazel, discovered
unusual occurrences and objects on his property. Some of the things he discovered seemed strange to
him because they appeared on his land and he was extremely familiar with every square foot of that
land and knew the strange objects didn t belong to him. What he found included metals, plastics, and
foil reflectors, which were held together by tape forming some sort of apparatus. Not knowing what to
do, he gathered up the objects and contacted the Roswell Sheriff s Department. The Sheriff didn t
know what to do with the material either, so he contacted the local U.S. Air Force base in hopes that
they could get to the bottom of these unusual disturbances on the Brazel Ranch. This occurrence is
known as the Roswell Incident and to this day, there are still many unanswered questions about what
really went on. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Air Force investigated the incident by sending soldiers onto the rancher s land. They too
discovered additional mysterious debris, they gathered it up and took it away when they left the ranch.
Four days later, the Air Force announced that a Flying Saucer had landed, then one they changed their
story and said that a weather balloon had crashed. The surrounding community did not believe this to
be true, and neither did the rest of the people in the nation. Americans alike, were not satisfied with
these findings. They believed the government was trying to cover something

Danilo Capcha Professor Sande English 101 November 18, 2014 Halberstam brilliantly enough
discusses how CGI, which are out of the norm, are being used to exemplify many ideas such as
revolution, capitalism, and transformation. CGI films as explained by Halberstam are movies
generated solely by a computer that breaks off from societal norms which can be considered as being
queer, different or odd, to Halberstam. Movies that include animating revolt usually incorporate
human and non human struggles in which two groups are then pit against each other to show a theme
that would never be shown in adult movies. In the movie, Chicken Run, the chickens are the
oppressed people of society while Mr. Tweedy and Mrs. Tweedy are the ones in control. ... Show more

Woody goes through many milestones in which he shows that being a failure is not such a bad thing
after all. Collectivity is shown in the move when Buzz and Woody, the replaced toy, accidentally set
off on an adventure and are forced to work together to overcome many obstacles. At one point in the
movie, they are trapped in a claw machine and have to find a way out. Although their plan to escape
the claw machine goes very south, Woody still tries to help out Buzz. Halberstam would focus on the
scene when Buzz and Woody are won by Sid the Bully, one of the antagonists in the movie, they are
brought to his house and are selected as the lucky patients in Sid s next toy surgery; Buzz and Woody
yet again must come together to get out of this horrible predicament. A couple of scenes later they are
seen trying to fight of a group of toys who have already been operated upon by Sid but Buzz and
Woody do not know that these toys are just like them. They also want to escape from the horrible
prison they have been placed in but cannot due to their deformation, so they work together to help out
Woody and Buzz escape. Halberstam would notice the change of character the evil toys undergo
because Halberstam believes that most CGI films include characters that are failures, the deformed
toys, and then become great due to their

30. The United Colonies And Its Effects On Trade And Illegal...
The Caribbean rival colonies caused major disruption in trade and more illegal activities were
spreading across the new land. The exportation of treasured metals previously deviated from Peru to
Mexico causing the connection between the metropolis and the colonies to disintegrate. There were
two types of societies that existed, the Maroons and the Buccaneers. The first type was made up of
struggling settlers that had violent tendencies, plantiers, exasperated officials, slaves, and free persons
of color. The second type was considered as a trans frontier group to include, Maroons, slave escapees
to defiant freebooters (Buccaneers). The Maroons formed a successful surrogate to the Europeans.

Whereas the second type, gran marronnage was very different. This consisted of an organized attempt
to establish political and social communities of European colonial enclave. Maroons acquired the
necessities to survive including, firearms, tools, utensils, and food once successful marronage was
enabled. Between the mid seventeenth century to the beginning of the eighteenth century the
Buccaneers were in their glory. Transitioning politically and socially, the Buccaneers economy was
greatly dependent on selling hides and boutcan to the ships passing through the Mona Passage and the
Windward Passages. They also achieved international fame by performing freelance attacks on the
Spanish possessions in and around the Caribbean. With the support of rival states the Buccaneers
continued their attacks on the Spanish, which helped the success of non Spanish attempts at
colonization. The communities of Buccaneers represented a phase in the shift from pioneering
colonialism to organized imperialism. They began to make profits off of different kinds of animals
such as dogs, horses, cattle, and hogs. The Buccaneers succeeded their attacks on the Spanish by
maintaining support from other states and this created a greater opportunity for colonization. This
developed a bond between the Buccaneers and other cultures around the Caribbean. The
