2. Andrew Carnegie Gospel Of Wealth Summary
According to The Autobiography of Andrew Carnegie and Gospel of Wealth, Andrew Carnegie was
born into a low income family in Scotland in 1835. He is best known as the founder of Carnegie Steel
(28). His rags to riches story has been shared over and over as an example of a person achieving the
American dream. Carnegie s life is a valuable lesson in what hard work and determination, sprinkled
with good common business sense, can accomplish in America.
The Autobiography of Andrew Carnegie and Gospel of Wealth, it discusses the early years when
Carnegie was the son of an impoverished linen weaver. The book profiles that the Carnegie family
lived a difficult life in Scotland and decided to immigrate to Pittsburgh when Andrew was thirteen.
Andrew got his start in the business world working as a bobbin boy. He worked eighteen hour days at
the age of thirteen in a cotton factory. Known as a person with a work ethic, Andrew found a job on
the railroad. That position gave him a passion for steel and coal, forging his path to the wealthiest man
in America. While working for the railroad, he began to make investments in steel. Andrew was

3. The War Of Ancient Egypt Essay
WAR IN ANCIENT EGYPT
Introduction: I chose this book because of my newfound appreciation of Egyptian warfare. I had
always been fascinated by Egyptian history, but had somewhat dismissed the study thereof. I highly
suggest this book to anyone studying Egyptian warfare. It analyzes in great depth, the New Kingdom
and its war strategies prior to the Egyptians takeover of Syria. The excruciating detail in which
Egyptologist, Anthony Spalinger articulates has details for the novice, the middle student, and even an
instructor of ancient civilizations.
Summary: Elaborated from a militarist and often scientific point of view, hieroglyphs, reliefs, and
artifacts that would otherwise convey an ominous or mysterious meaning behind glass in a museum,
are given new life as a master of his trade deciphers the undecipherable in his book, War in Ancient
Egypt, Ancient World at War.
Purpose: Anthony J. Spalinger tells us that his purpose is to enable the reader to gain a more thorough
knowledge of the New Kingdom in ancient Egypt from 1550 1070 B.C.E. Instead of bombarding the
reader with an extensive list of wars during this timeframe, Spalinger promises to present his
dissertation concerning the New Kingdom from a logistical standpoint as opposed to a historical one.
Spalinger further solidifies his intent when he tells us that his goal is to help the reader to grasp the
state of deadliness that the Egyptian army rose to during the New Kingdom. He promises to list the

India s main importer is the United States.
China and India are also very similar in taxes. They both have similar systems for paying taxes. China
pays the higher tax depending on how much money you make. There tax system works the same way
the United States taxes people.
The more money you make the more tax money you pay monthly. In India, you do not pay as much
taxes as in China. This is also similar to China s system because they pay more taxes on income that
makes more money. As you can see by the chart the more income you make the more taxes you pay.
But in India what they do have is tax cuts for interest and royalty.
China and India have many foreign relations with other countries. They use a lot of foreign
communication, especially in trading. They trade often with the United States. China communicates
with foreign countries when diplomats are entering or leaving the country and when they are trading
to other countries. India communicates with foreign countries when diplomats and when they trade

6. Persuasive Essay On Gasoline Taxes
Federal gasoline tax debate has been on continuous lose ends in the economy and American society as
a whole. The debate on the plans to reduce harmful emission is one of the main issues for an increase
in the tax on gasoline. The government of United States also aims at reduction in fuel imports to
decrease the deficit. Most people in the American fraternity believed that increase in the gasoline tax
would result that the negative effects would reduce, (Ferrero, Giosuè Balducci, 33).
Analysis
Change in the gasoline tax would affect various parties in the society. One of the impacts is that the
members of the society would have to drive a fewer miles, and a shift would result to more fuel
efficient cars to minimize the cost effect of gasoline. This is a direct impact on consumer behavior
since the consumers demand for gasoline will reduce. An increase in gasoline tax will reduce air
pollution by the alternative carbon emitting fuels that are in use. The U.S government will have to find
out a way to compensate on reduced Carbon Taxes as a result of alternative carbon emitting fuels [Fig

The government has continuously used the revenue on roads maintenance and construction. Additional
tax on gasoline should be invested in research on better and more improved ways and tax breaks for

these policies are implemented, an increase in tax will serve as a true pigouvian tax [1] if the income
tax is used for this purpose. Many economists all over have suggested that this funds from additional
tax should be used in funding social security and also balance the budget deficit that is a good take.

Introduction
Last year, I failed two accounting courses which were 400 levels. I tried to retake one of the courses
because my dad was pressuring me so hard that I should be able to understand much better but I still
could not understand the concepts and I found it really hard to catch up with the class. Since this class
was a prerequisite class for my major, I was very frustrated. I was getting so much stress from my dad
and the course that I had to retake. However, several days before I had to take a midterm, I was
overwhelmed and I was not ready to take an exam. I decided to withdraw from a course because there
was no way that I could handle 400 level accounting courses. Since I failed two accounting courses
before, I got an academic probation due to low grades. My dad thought that I was still retaking one of
the accounting courses. When I told him that I withdrew from a course, he was very mad because I did
not discuss this issue with him. I did not know why I had to discuss with him while I was very stressed
out. It was a tough decision for me to withdraw from a course. I had to discuss with him about
changing my major since I was in my last year. Preparation Stage

9. History And The United States
The history of journalism in the United States has spanned from the first colonist crossing the Atlantic
Ocean to today s mass media. Even before we were a country we had printers and journalists writing
and printing stories for the people. Looking back, we can divide journalism history into different time
periods and see how news reporting developed over time. Some of these time periods include the
Colonial Period which spanned from when the first Pilgrims came to America in the mid 1600 s till
the 1760 s. Other periods include the Revolution period which picked up from the colonial period till
the early 1780 s. The period of Westward Expansion lasted from the 1800 to the 1830 s, then there was
the Civil War Period which spanned from the 1840 s till the 1860 s. Finally, the Interpretative Period
which lasted from 1930 s and continues to today. Looking back at these time periods we can see what
was considered news and what was newsworthy , the dominate issues of the periods, and how far we
have come as a society from those issues. The Colonial Period was the beginning of not only out
country, but also the beginning of our system of journalism. The colonial period dates back to the first
settlers sailing over the Atlantic in search of religious and political freedom from their oppressors in
Europe. The people during this time had a small definition for what they considered dominate news.
In this time period, most of the colonies had yet to be settled, and news only

11. The Birth Rate Of Canada
There are many key demographic indicators that make up each country. One of them is the crude birth
rate. In Canada for example, the crude birth rate is 11 which is considered low. The crude birth rate is
the number of live births per thousand of population per year. When this is compared to the world
birth rate it is a little lower. According to the table provided the crude birth rate is a stable indicator. It
is stable because it has not changed much in recent years and is pretty even to the region of Canada.
Because it is stable, it is also a good environment to live in. The birth rate is low because in Canada
there are higher standards of living, in addition to higher education levels. With the total fertility rate
being low, that can come in the factor of the low birth rate from the last couple of years. 2.1 children
per woman are required to replace the population in the absence of migration. Some key factors of
why the fertility rate fell were for 3 costly events that affected a lot of countries. First in the 1930s it
had a big decline due to the great depression. In the 1970s it also declined due to the energy crisis. The
last major event was in 2011 and it was the Great Recession. With the Great Recession there were
high unemployment rates. During the Great Depression period the total fertility rate was declining
because there were many couples that used birth control to limit their family size. Canada: Region:

13. The Role Of Slavery In Ancient Rome
Roman slavery has increased the wealth of the highest class, and the aristocrats who owned the most
slaves would represent the wealthiest citizens. As one third of the Roman population, slaves have
tested the strength of the economy by completing specialized jobs for no profit instead of the working
middle class. Also, the government distributed very few rights for the slaves to have the opportunity to
escape poverty.
As the population of slaves grew rapidly, the aristocratic elite was able to hold great power and wealth
throughout Ancient Rome and its plantations. The more slaves that an elite had working for them the
more luxury and privileges they obtained. In addition, the Romans took prisoners or citizens charged
for war debt from conquered regions such as Carthage, Macedonia and Greece in Northern Italy,
Africa and Europe to acquire as their slaves. The slaves past origin and ethnicity did not cause
discrimination or leave that slave with a crueler punishment than others in the Roman Republic.

Industrialization had revolutionized the newspaper industry allowing machines to print thousands of
papers in a night, providing publishers with the ability to provide more newspapers (Campbell 2001).
Hearst and Pulitzer found attention grabbing, sensational headlines sold more papers. This began the
brand of reporting known as yellow journalism. These publishers were credited with starting the
Spanish American War due to their exaggeration and inflammatory headlines (Campbell 2001).
Although, yellow journalism became the term for this practice of sensationalism and sometimes

Interpretative challenges presented by theological ideas behind the Quatuor
The Quatuor is based on Revelation 10.1 7, in particular the phrase there shall be no more time. Time
is represented musically in different ways throughout the Quatuor and the addition of this theological
basis to the piece may well have been prompted by the prisoner of war conditions in which he found
himself, in which time might indeed have seemed literally endless, and the Apocalypse close at hand .
It is difficult to know, though, to what extent this theological basis must be considered and portrayed
when performing the Quartet for the End of Time. The words that it is based on appear in the title and
preface, but the challenge to the performer is deciding to what extent the text should be interpreted as
a narrative or programme.
Similar challenges are presented by Romantic music; if a composer does not provide an explicit
programme e.g. Berlioz Symphonie Fantastique it is up to the performer to interpret whether one was
meant and to what extent it should be portrayed in a performance.
The deciding factor in the case of the Quatuor is to consider movements 5 and

The Great Gatsby is generally regarded as a story of love and tragedy, but in actuality, it was a story of
a sad man chasing a baseless obsession with a woman and in trying to obtain this relationship,
succumbing to immoral practices and ultimately dying alone. The author of The Great Gatsby, F. Scott
Fitzgerald, is a widely acclaimed author who had a life of tragedy and loss that greatly impacted his
writing. He was able to see not only the light hearted, celebratory, and successful side of the American
Dream, but also the negative effects of overindulging with alcohol and incessant partying. He was able
to indirectly write about himself and his losses in the stories he wrote. Unfortunately, he was not able
to see how successful he had become. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
All of his decisions are based on his need to feel superior and his interminable chase after the idea of
Daisy that he has created. Part of the genius of the novel that Fitzgerald included was the two
dimensionality of the characters. Almost all of the characters lacked a human aspect of their
characterization. Fitzgerald wrote them this way on purpose. He wrote the characters of The Great
Gatsby the way that he saw people around him in his everyday life: shallow and vapid. Instead of
filling the novel with well rounded characters, he filled it with characters who at best made
questionable decisions, even with good intentions in mind. His decision in doing this is extremely
important to the themes portrayed in the novel. The Great Gatsby brought a lot of the social issues that
were going on in the 20 s into the light, and in a brilliant way. Writing Jay Gatsby as a static character

The musical opened on June 16, 1973, at The Royal Court Theatre Upstairs in London,
England. The musical which was originally a just for kicks show was intended to run only a couple of
weeks, but took broadway by storm and became a huge success. The musical then moved from the
60seat
Theatre Upstairs to a series of larger theatres such as the Classic
Cinema. The Rocky Horror Picture Show made the cinema it s home from Aug. 14, 1973 to
Oct. 20, 1973, then moving to King s Road from Nov. 3, 1973 to March 31, 1979, and finally the

shows initial run in the UK. The show played in London for a total of 2,960 performances.
About ten months into the run, Lou Adler saw the musical and brought it to the United States with the
show s first preview on March 19, 1974. The Rocky Horror Picture Show then spread all throughout
the world with the Australian premiere also in 1974 and Japan in 1975. The musical was made into a

23. The Rate Of The Foreign Born Population
Within the United States the rate of the foreign born population i.e. those who are not a U.S. citizen at
birth (US Census Bureau, 2016) has been steadily increasing over the past several decades. Since the
1970s, numbers have increased from 9.6 million foreign born immigrants, to more than 40 million
foreign born immigrants in 2013 (Pew Research Center, 2015, p. 65). Another change also shows the
variating demographics of the immigrants. In the 60s and 70s, many of the immigrants came across
from Europe, whereas in 2013, most were from either Latin America, or South or East Asia. In
addition to this, fifty percent of U.S. immigrants label themselves as speaking English less than very
well, with only 16% claiming to speak only English within their home (Pew Research Center, 2015, p.
70). This sort to twist in the language learning behaviors can have profound impacts on scholastics, as
well as community and social involvement, leading to the creation of conclaves of different immigrant
populations. Many ethnic groups tend to cluster together in specific locals, with the states of
California, Florida, Illinois, New York, and Texas having the counties with the largest foreign born
populations in 2013 (Pew Research Center, 2015, p. 16). With them, they bring their own ideals,
dreams, hopes, and ideations about what life in the United States would be like.

24. Te The Drink That Changed The World
According to Laura C. Martin, in the book, Tea: the Drink that changed the World, tea is an aromatic
beverage widely consumed around the world. The beverage is prepared by pouring boiling water over
Camellia Sinensis leaves, the major tealeaves. The leaves grow in different areas in Asia, but most
notably in Chian and India (Martin, 2007). There are a variety of tea flavors. For example, Darjeeeling
and Chinese green tea have a bitter flavor, while other teas have sweet, grassy or floral flavor
(Teavana, 2015). The Historian John Griffiths explains that upon the European colonization of North
America, the colonizers introduced tea to the colonies (Griffiths, 2007). He continues that tea appealed

All of a sudden, a light breeze caused little leaves to fall into the water. The emperor tasted the water
and found it delicious (Higgins Burke, 2014). Tea became an essential beverage in China. While the
story of tea indicates that tea was introduced from Ancient China, tea has been a crucial trade product
that travelled through centuries to reach almost every corner in the world. Higgins and Burke argue
that from China to North American, tea developed to new variations, flavors, uses, production
methods, and equipment. Also, tea rituals have developed and taken a significant place in local
cultures (Higgins Burke, 2014).
Tea in the United States:
According to the article, About American Tea culture, every time tea is introduced to a new country, it
implicates and mutates to a new tea culture that deeply influences the society (bonteavant, 2012). Tea
is probably the only beverage that spurs dramatic change in the societies to which it is introduced
providing propulsion for poetry, meditation, civil disobedience, economic shifts, social and spiritual
rituals. Also, tea has greatly been valued as a medicine or even used as currency or as food
(Bonteavant, 2012). The article mentions how tea has enhanced American economy as well as the
social and physical health of the society

26. Examples Of Injustice In The Lottery
Lots of people have to deal with a situation with two choices that have very different outcomes, and
could even mean life or death. Either standing up in the face of injustice, or following the crowd. This
is also known as peer pressure. The Lottery, written by Shirley Jackson, is a fictional short story about
a lottery that takes place in a village every summer. First, every family has a representative that draws
a slip of paper, then every member of the winning family draws, and however gets a black dot on their
paper wins, which means that person gets stoned to death. Then, First They Came, by Martin
Niemoller, a man who wrote about his perspective on justice and indifference based from his
experience of not standing up for others in the face of injustice. The two stories, The Lottery, and First
They Came, deal with injustice, but they do so in different ways.
In the first place, The Lottery deals with injustice throughout the story. At the beginning, where no one
stood up and said that the lottery was wrong and should not be used anymore, when no one said
anything when Bill Hutchinson drew the marked paper for his family, to when Tessie Hutchison won
the lottery and everyone just went along with it like everything was fine. These examples not only
display injustice, but could also fit in with following the crowd, and because no one is standing up
against Mr. Summers, it ends with someone innocent dying every year.
In contrast, First They Came

27. Debt, Investment And Spending Analysis
Debt, Investment and Spending Analysis
With Tony s GIC coming due next month with an approximate worth of $163,000, now would be a
good time to conceder how best to spend this money.
Looking at your current net worth, I can see a major portion of your liabilities comes from your
mortgage. Come October, this mortgage will have decreased to $137,000. Should you refinance your
mortgage at the current rate of 5.5% for an additional 25 years, you d be paying an $115,811 in
interest. To compare, if you took this $137,000 and put it into a GIC, you d receive $89,105 which is
$26,706 less.
For this reason, I believe you should spend $137,000 of the GIC to pay of the house completely. This
will leave you with an extra $2,500 a month when compared to your current cash flow.
Similarly, your credit card debt can also be taken care of with the funds from the GIC. As the interest
on credit card debt is 30%, it s a good idea to get this paid off as quickly as possible. Credit card debt
can easily grow and get out of hand. The interest you would have to pay would be $1,365 more than
you would earn if you d put that same amount into a savings account for one year.
As CESGs also have a high interest rate of 20%, so it would be advantageous to put a full $10,000
into your children s RESP. This would give you the maximum available CESGs for the year, giving
you a return of $2,000. That s $1,550 more than you would earn if you d put that same amount into a
savings account for one year.

28. Social Norm Of Having Children Essay
The world has always followed some type of order from the first day it was created up until now.
People in society have always struggled with following and abiding by the social norms in their
culture. In the past it was normal for women to get married and have children all before the age of
twenty. Over time, that became the social norm or lifestyle that everyone was following. Just as
quickly as that norm developed it changed. Ever since the early two thousands, having children in
your teenage years was frowned upon (Hart S., 2012). It quickly became normal for women in society
to hold off on having children until they were in their twenties and sometimes even later. The norm

America is country that follows a broad set of norms that are easy to conform to but when broken the
effects are devastating. To break the norm of the order of having children can impact the mother
and/or father on a multitude of levels. In any country, breaking norms can result in the individual
being ostracized from that society until they are able to conform again. Teen motherhoods makes it
extremely difficult to finish high school, get a career, and assimilate into the working world. There is a
stigma that teen mothers are unable to move up in society because they violated a strong social norm
and are set back even farther than they imagined. With social media on the rise, it also has an effect on
young adults and their perception of teen pregnancy. An editor from Does 16 and Pregnant Prevent or
Promote Teen Pregnancy (Dockteman, E., 2014) agrees that there is a glamorization of teen pregnancy
and that is could be a factor in the rise of teen births. There are multiple other media platforms that

cause. There is a disconnect between what actually happens to regular teenage mothers and what

29. The Relationship Between Randomness And Correlation...
Whether or not it is noticed, there are numerous examples of variability in day to day life.
Randomness can take many forms, but one such example is in the sport of soccer. The same two teams
could play the same game against each other five times and each game could have a different score
with both teams being able to win at least once. There must be a reason for inconsistencies like this.
That is randomness and variability. For sure, each team has its own players with their own skills, but
when it comes down to it, there s a level of randomness in the sport that can often mean the difference
between a team winning or losing. Even generally speaking, the sport has randomness in it that has no
hugely perceivable on the outcome of the game, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For instance, in the odd chance that there were no major delays of the game in professional soccer, the
total time of the first half may be 44 minutes and 59 seconds and 10 milliseconds and so on. It is
highly unlikely that play will commence for exactly 40 minutes, no more, no less.
It can also be taken into account that delays are very common in the sport. Say a game time was set at
6:00 p.m., but a rain delay caused it to start at 6:10 instead. Many factors can affect the timing of
soccer. Another great example is the fact that at the end of the game the referee allows for make up
play. In Major League soccer lost time during played is made up after the 90 minutes had been spent.
It is not uncommon to see famous players, like Cristiano Ronaldo, flop on the ground and milk an
injury after an opposing player barely bumped them. This causes a major interruption of play and can
cost minutes off of the clock. Brawls, streakers , injuries, and weather all affect the time span of a
game. In order to make up for what was lost, the referee allots extra time after the 90 minutes has
expired. This time is supposed to make up for all of the delays. However, the extra time given almost
never truly matches the amount of time lost. Say during the game there was a roughly 5 minute
recovery period for an injured player, a 7 minute

31. Verification Of Motion Lab
Verification of Newton s 2nd Law of Motion
Introduction The objective of this lab was to test Newton s 2nd law of motion, which states that the
acceleration of an object is proportional to the sum of forces acting on it and inversely proportional to
its mass. This was done by connecting a cart to a hook with a string and using a smart pulley to
measure the acceleration of varying masses on the hook as it falls down. System mass remains
constant. A free body diagram and applying Newton s 2nd Law yields the following relationship:
Where mass 1 is the mass of the cart and the weights it contains, while mass 2 is the hook and the
weights it holds. Thus the goal is to record data that follows this equation; as more masses are added
to the hook, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A smart pulley is clamped onto the side of the table and connected to a computer to sync with
Capstone. In Capstone, select the device as Photogate with Pulley. Set up a position vs time graph to
record data for. Attach a string to the cart, over the smart pulley, and latch it onto a 5g hook to the side
of the table. Obtain four weights: two 20g, one 50g, and one 100g. While keeping the cart in place,
keep one 20g weight on the hook and the remainder in the cart. Start recording data from the smart
pulley and release the cart so that it will slowly slide towards the edge of the table. Grab the cart
before it hits the pulley and stop recording data. Reset the cart s position to 50 cm away from the edge.
Repeat this process for the following masses on the hook: 40g (two 20g weights), 70g (one 20g weight
and a 50g weight), 100g (just the 100g weight), and 170g (one 20g, 50g, and 100g). Keep the
remainder weights on the cart. Be careful with the cart at higher masses on the hook, as it will move
quickly. Once the trials are completed, create quadratic fits for the recorded data on Capstone. Make
sure to remove unwanted data, such as the initial motionless state of the cart and the adrupt halt of its
motion. The acceleration of the system is two times the value of the A constant in the curve fit; record
this and do this for all trials.

Why Advertising Alcohol Is Destroying Public Well Being When I was nine years old, I remember
seeing the most delectable, mouthwatering commercial on television. It was for beer. Growing up in a
family that did not drink, I never thought beer could look so appetizing. The beverage was everywhere
I looked except for in my own fridge. Not only adults, but kids and teens everywhere are being
bombarded with alcohol advertisements. Many of these youths choose to succumb to these ads and
end up with destructive drinking habits. Not only is alcohol damaging to youth but also to adults.
According to a U.S. study, adults were found to put themselves at severe risk of harm after having
more than four drinks in one session (Medew). This number can change depending on the gender, size,
athleticism, and other factors of the consumer. Although some may say that alcohol is not too
damaging if drunk responsibly, the fact that alcohol is a direct route to damaging organs like the liver,
heart, and pancreas and harming the brain is a red flag (NIHSeniorHealth). To whatever extent,
alcohol weakens the brain s control over movement, speech, memory, and especially judgement,
which often leads to impulsive behavior and other dangerous activities (NIHSeniorHealth). There are
plenty of harmful side effects of drinking, so the obvious solution to preserving the nation s well being
is to not encourage it. One quote by a Seattle

33. The Environmental Effect Of Deprivation
What are pesticides? Pesticides are substances used to kill pests that are found on many of the crops
such as fruits and vegetables that heterotrophs ingest. As Americans, one should be aware of the
consequences caused by those harsh chemicals found in pesticides. Honeybees are one of the main
insects responsible for production of over half of the food we digest. In Vanishing of the bees, the
documentary examines the sudden departure of honeybees when the agriculture business had a crisis
because a condition known as Colony Collapse Disorder took full effect and killed billions of bees.
While in Vanishing Biodiversity , Karaim discusses the loss in biodiversity conservation on farms.
Both sources deal with the disappearance in species. Although pesticides main use is to kill pests that
destroy food crops and is the cause of loss in biodiversity, farmers should minimize their practical use
of pesticides to protect the ecosystem.
The environmental effect of deprivation of biodiversity is a common concern because of the important
roles they encounter such as the regulation of crop eating pests, who s affecting the entire biosphere.
The majority of plants and animals that functions together to fulfill life are shrinking. (Karaim). It is
believed that pesticides may have provoked the loss in biodiversity. These flora and animals includes
large industrial plants and animals such as lions and rhinoceroses to smaller creatures like insects and
honeybees. (Karaim). In a country

this paper will be answering. Like when the airplane was invented. How the original plane works.
When the first commercial airplane built and flown. Also about the most common airplane known
today. About the future of flying. When was the first airplane invented? The Wright Brothers, as we
know them are the ones that invented the airplane. Before they started to make their own airplane,
Wilbur and Orville Wright had owned their own bike shop. They followed Otto Lilienthal, an German
engineer, and his research on the airplane. Lilienthal died in a glider crash, allowing them to take his
research in his hands. The two brothers continued his research by watching birds fly and glide. Finally
after numerous of failed attempts and design flaws they made the first airplane, The Flyer on
December 17, 1903. The motor powered plane was flown by Wilbur Wright for 59 seconds at 852 feet.
How did the first airplane actually work? Well Wilbur and Orville had to carefully design their first
airplane to actually get it to fly. They had a special name for the design of the wings called wing
warping. The wings provided lift and the control to steer. Their was to propellers on the plane

In reality, coding for beginners is not that difficult at all. In essence, it s simply knowing how to talk to
a computer in a specialized language such as PHP, Ruby or Fortran. Then, you master how to tell it its
instructions: step by step. However, things do become more convoluted, and you ll need to learn to
code more languages applicable to the tasks at hand.

You ll have to be a math wizard to learn how to program.
Actually, there is no real direct correlation between math and programming a computer. Honest.
( removed HTML ) Myth Number Four: ( removed HTML )
You ll need a college degree if you re going to succeed as a software developer.
You d be surprised to know that many, if not most computer people, do not have a degree in computer
science. In fact, the population of software specialists who now have no degree whatsoever and are
completely self taught, has risen exponentially within the last decade in comparison to those people
who do have a formal degree.
Furthermore, although many do not have a degree, there are sufficient online tools readily available
for people who have the inclination to simply learn how to use, let s say, a software package. As such,
at home courses abound in enormous availability making it far easier to with online tools are

43. How Did The New Kingdom Change Ancient Egypt
Ancient Egypt was one of the earliest, longest lasting and significant civilizations in world history.
Egypt was located in the Nile River Valley. Egyptian history divided into three separate periods, such
as, the old kingdom, the middle Kingdom, and the new Kingdom. Each Kingdom has different things
that make it unique, and there are some facts and certain characteristics of life that they all shared.

First is Old Kingdom. The Old Kingdom also called the Pyramid Age began about in 2686 B.C.E. and
ended in 2180 B.C.E. The pharaohs, of this time include the third through the sixth dynasty. In 3100

The New Kingdom of Egypt was also referred as the Egyptian Empire. New Kingdom lasted from
1550 1070 B.C.E., eighteen through twenty dynasties. It was the best and golden era for Egypt
because of the contribution and improvement that happened during that time period. It was a time of
the warrior pharaohs (Roehrig). New Kingdom includes several civilizations of pharaohs. During
Pharaohs of this time period went on the aggressive, attacking areas outside of Egypt. Another aspect
of the New Kingdom was a change in the way that pharaohs in this period were buried. Few other
major characteristics and things that happened during that time was pleasing god with goods and
money, building temples, royal extravagance, building tombs instead pyramids, and great art
scriptures. The Major achievement was gold mines that were used very significant way by the
Pharaohs. It formed the real power behind the throne. And the gold was also used to build magnificent
temples and tombs for everyone. Women played a big role during that era too. They were given the
opportunity and rights that they deserved from long time. The Egyptian religion gave them a central
role in the divine order

44. Literary Devices In The God Of Small Things
Arundhati Roy s The God of Small Things, a twisting tale seemingly centered on a case of family
tragedy, unravels to form a critique on rigid social structures. This renders Iser s quote significant to a
huge extent, as proven by the novel s fragmented narrative. By building the narrative around a crucial
lack of information, readers are pushed to engage thoroughly with the text, as they have to piece
together the jigsaw pieces that make up the story, so as to make complete sense of it, henceforth
enabling a better understanding of the explicit when the implicit comes to light. In doing so, the
meaning of the text comes alive in the reader s imagination (Bennett 1682) through the readers
realization that the seemingly irrelevant, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The lengthy narration of this ancient tale, while initially seeming irrelevant, serves to depict the
timelessness of the destruction that can be brought about by these Love Laws . Along with the clearest
example of the refusal to adhere to these Love Laws as captured in Ammu s love affair with
Untouchable Velutha which had led to the massive literal and figurative destruction of many lives,
Roy argues how both obedience and disobedience of these laws will lead to destruction as human s
passion can never be contained by them. As such, by inviting the reader to piece together the puzzle
pieces of this critique, the boundaries between the writer and reader is blurred as the reader writes the
text as well. Hence, the reader becomes more receptive to the sensitive, painful questions that Roy
pushes, not only about India s caste prejudice but social structures that are adhered to globally , as he
has become more involved in the world of the

the act is to direct the labor management affairs of business firms that employ in interstate trade
(Pozgar, 2015). So for example, in the introduction of chapter 20 we read that supervisors are
harassing employees regarding in participating and voting in union meetings (Pozgar, 2015). As health
care administrators and human resources directors, we must adhere to the laws that govern businesses
(Pozgar, 2015). If I were the health care administrator or HR manager, I would have had put a stop to
the harassing, if not prevented it, of the medical staff,

46. Power Of The American Dream In The Great Gatsby
The Power of the American Dream
The American Dream is the belief that anyone can be successful if they just work hard enough. It is
about pursuing happiness through independence and integrity. Many individuals rely on the American
Dream to give them a meaningful life, when in actuality it destroys one s happiness. In reality, those
who give no significance to the American Dream are the ones who are actually satisfied with their
lives. Fitzgerald s novel, The Great Gatsby, shows that finding purpose in one s life does not revolve
around the American Dream. As a matter of fact, individuals are most content without trying to
achieve that utmost success. The American Dream is a false prospect that people attempt to achieve,
and as a result, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Myrtle believed that in order to be content, she required prosperity and the American Dream. In
reality, the American Dream diminishes one s power to have a meaningful life. The main way in
which Myrtle tried to achieve wealth, was by having an affair with Tom Buchanan. Tom was a
successful, wealthy individual who Myrtle used to gain more wealth. She used his affluence for
herself, and ended up losing the American Dream. Myrtle s greed for luxury made her have an affair
with Tom, and Mr. Wilson eventually found out. Once Mr. Wilson realized Myrtle s motives, he tried
to achieve more money for her. His actions ultimately led to Myrtle s own death. Myrtle lost her
American Dream as quickly as it came in. She was driven to achieve more wealth, and she even died
trying. Basically, her own attempt to become prosperous was what eventually decreased her power to
become happy. From the start, Myrtle was deprived of money and she was unhappy. She actually
remained distressed because of her chase of the American Dream. Myrtle died because she continued
to blame Wilson for her lack of wealth. This is revealed when she says, Beat me...Throw me down and
beat me, you dirty little coward! (pg. 145). Therefore, this proves that another way in which Myrtle
tried to gain more money, was by blaming Mr. Wilson. She pointed all of her problems in Mr. Wilson s
direction, and eventually died by doing so. Mr. Wilson chased Myrtle out of the house, because he was
so upset with how disappointed Myrtle was with him. This shows that Myrtle tried to accumulate
more wealth by involving Mr. Wilson. The outcome was that she lost control and the American Dream
all together. Instead of life just becoming more distressed, Myrtle actually died as a result. Another
way in which Myrtle tried to acquire the American Dream, was through the way she dressed herself.
In the book, Myrtle tried to show that she

47. Summary Of The Crisis No. 1 By Thomas Paine
The Reasoning behind The Crisis No. 1 by Thomas Paine As an anonymous author Common Sense,
Thomas Paine wrote the first pamphlet in the colonies to urge immediate independence from Britain.
After writing Common Sense, he then wrote the first of sixteen pamphlets titled The Crisis. The first
Crisis paper ( These are the times that try men s souls ) was read to Washington s troops at Trenton
and did much to shore up the spirits of the Revolutionary soldiers (Paine 324). Paine motivated the
troops to keep their eyes on what really mattered throughout the war. The purpose of his writings are
incredible and he definitely left an impact on a numerous amount of people.
Before I began to read The Crisis, No. 1, I wondered why Paine went through the trouble to create
sixteen pamphlets. What was his overall purpose of these writings? ... Show more content on

Therefore, he wrote in such a manner, that everyone from the most educated man to the poorest
civilian could grasp the purpose for his pamphlets. In these pamphlets, Paine tried to motivate the
army and he gave an opinion, Whether the independence of the continent was declared too soon, or
delayed too long, I will not now enter into as an argument; my own simple opinion is, that had it been
eight moneys earlier, it would have been much better ( Paine 331). The purpose of Crisis No. 1 was
that Americans need to continue to fight for their freedom, and all the people should support the war.
The writings that Thomas Paine created, were full of rich information and true messages that left an
impact on myself and others who read his material. The pamphlets were so powerful that they
influenced the troops, and made him continue to write knowing he is helping civilians and troops. The
pamphlets should always be read in literature because of the lasting effect they have on an individual,
and the movement of emotional and physical capability upon individuals in

48. Physical Therapy For The Rehabilitation Process
Physical Therapy
Definition of Physical Therapy
Physical therapy is the treatment of deformity, injury, or disease by healthcare professionals, physical
therapists, through hands on methods such as massage, exercise, or heat treatment so that drugs or
surgery may not be needed. In physical therapy sessions therapists work with patients to help them
improve their movement so that they are able to manage their pain. Physical therapy is an active
profession with a scientific base that helps patients to restore and to maintain optimal physical
function. Physical therapists take an active role in the rehabilitation process, in prevention and health
maintenance programs, and in fitness and wellness programs (PT Careers, 2015). Their services ...

Patient examination in physical therapy includes measures such as strength, flexibility, range of
motion, motor function, and quality of life. After all of this has been done, a physical therapist uses
clinical reasoning to determine what is wrong with the patient and what should be done to help the
patient improve. He uses the gathered information to develop an individualized care plan for each
patient, indicating the patient s short and long term goals and expected outcomes as a result of the
therapy sessions (U.S. Bureau, 2015).
Once the plan has been established, the therapist works with his patient using stretches, exercises, and
hands on therapy to help alleviate pain, increase mobility, and prevent further injury. The therapist
evaluates and tracks the patient s progress and modifies the plan by trying new treatments when
needed. A physical therapist must be able to communicate well with patients, families, and other
healthcare professionals and must be able to show integrity and compassion for his patients. Another
important aspect of a physical therapist s job is to teach his patients appropriate ways to perform
certain tasks so that further injury does not occur, promoting future health and wellness (U.S. Bureau,
2015).
Facilities and Working Conditions
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, Physical therapists held about 210,900 jobs in 2014,
and offices of physical and occupational therapists employed 34% of those physical therapists.

49. Application of Ethical Theories
The role of ethical theories in ethical reasoning and behavior within organizations Research proposal
Sigalit Pasternak, Phd student
The Faculty of Management
Tel Aviv University
Supervisor: Dr. Ishak Saporta
Introduction
Business ethics is a specialized branch of ethics focusing on how moral standards apply to business
organizations and behavior (Velasques, 1998). As such, it cannot be understood separately from the
general ideas of ethics, and the general ethical theories apply to business ethics as well (Hunt Vitell,
1986; Fritzsche Becker, 1984;
Schumann, 2001; Lahdesnati, 2005). Normative ethical theory offers different moral theories, each
prescribing a set of moral rules that individuals can apply in the process of deciding ... Show more

Finally, most of the empirical research on the connection between ethical theories and ethical
reasoning is carried out in separation from research on the ethical decision making process. Although
there is a consensus as to the role of important individual and contextual components on ethical
decision making within organizations (for review, see Kish Gephart, Harrison and Trevino,
2010 Meta analysis), relatively little is known about the effect of these components on ethical
reasoning within organizations. The third objective of this research is to explore the link between
different individual and environmental factors and the application of different ethical theories in
ethical reasoning.
The proposed research can generate a theoretical contribution to the literature on ethical decision
making within organizations in several ways. First, the research attempts to resolve the differences in
past research finding in regard to the role of ethical theories in ethical reasoning by examining the
connection between the specific content and context of ethical dilemmas and the ethical rule or theory
applied by individuals to explain their resolution. Secondly, it
