Wwan War Research Paper
BRISBANE AT WAR 1939 till 1945 The United States of America entered WW2 in 1941, directing
their campaign from Australia as it started to perceive threats from Japan (2). By 1942, Brisbane had
been set up as the support and training base for the Pacific War (2). Military personal from America
started arriving in Brisbane, with the small number of troops requiring accommodation being dealt
with by leasing rooms in many of the CBDs hotels, guest houses, or by leasing rooms in private
residences (5). This solution was quickly obsolete as troops poured into the city, with approximately
100,000 US troops stationed around the city between 1942 and 1945 (1 3). During this period,
Australia s divisions returned to Brisbane from the Middle ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Since the racecourse was an important recreation facility in Brisbane, the Americans were not allowed
to damage the racetracks, therefore the campsite remained a tented city, with only a few temporary pre
fabricated buildings (5). Similarly, Victoria Park, another large open field, was offered to the US Army
to set up camp. It too was handed over with very strict rules that it had to be given back to council
with no damages. The sites close proximity to the CBD and Normanby rail yards made it a prime spot
for the troops, and so a camp site was set up with prefabricated huts spread throughout the park. The
exhibition grounds, The Rocklea State School and showgrounds, Yeronga Park, the Camp site in
Moorooka, and the Chermside Army Camps were all also sites chosen due to their large grounds and
access to tramlines. Chermside in particular, had to accommodate 3,500 militia troops, and so they
were accommodated on a large paddock that was close to Geebung railway station and also had good
road access. The camps had a vast array of tented lines for accommodation, with pre fabricated
buildings housing the camps messes and bathing areas (5). Camp sites sometimes also had a certain
type of demographic allowed inside. This segregation meant that there were sites specifically for
married men, bachelors, African Americans, and Females. Camp Freeman for example was set up to

The Security And Privacy Of Citizens Essay
upon recently watching a movie titled Blow, I found myself asking how something like such could be
related to the embassy bombing events and others, like the bombing of the World Trade Centers, and I
quickly discovered that there are thousands of ways in which this is possible. In fact it is relevant
enough that the past two Presidents (Clinton/Bush Jr.) have drawn up plans to stop it and it appears
that America has an opportunity to tackle two rather large problems in one fight, killing two birds with
one stone per say. The only question left too answer would be what sacrifices will the citizens of
America be forced to make? Where will the line be drawn in the security and privacy of citizens. How
much are you willing to give up to lower your chances of being the recipient of a terrorist attack?
(Drug Enforcement Agency hosts symposium on topic) The links between terrorism and

in a special symposium December 4 at the headquarters of the Drug Enforcement Administration

The Disaster Of The Hurricane Katrina
The devastating Hurricane Katrina left Louisiana, and the rest of America, distraught. The mighty
category 5 hurricane left thousands of Louisiana residents without food, water and shelter. The
devastation of the storm led the levies of the flood protecting dam to break leaving the city underwater
during the catastrophe. This natural disaster will go down in American history as the worst of its kind.
Although all the unfortunate natural events that made this tragedy possible, the supervision of the
event was almost as bad as the hurricane itself. There are many fingers to point at the different people
handling the situation but one this is clear, it was not handled properly. The blame all fell on a select
few individuals ranging from The President of the United States of America to the Mayor of New
Orleans. Kathleen Blanco, a former schoolteacher and two term Lt. Governor of Louisiana, elected
governor in January 2004 and who was in charge of Louisiana s response when Hurricane Katrina
struck on Aug. 29, 2005. Ray Nagin, another official in the hot seat, was the elected mayor of New
Orleans in May 2002 and served as mayor during the disaster. Michael Brown, the former Federal
Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) director from 2003 2005, who was in charge when
Hurricane Katrina struck the Gulf Coast on Aug. 29, 2005. Last but not least, President George W.

Equality Between Women And Men Essay
Equality between Women and Men, or Gender Equality, means equality of rights and freedoms. For
equal opportunities for participation, recognition and appreciation of women and men, In all areas of
society, political, economic, labor, personal and family.
Thus, more and more profound changes are taking place in the traditionally and social construction of
gender roles according to sex, leading to a conception of the masculine and differentiated and

In fact, new realities to this commonly accepted concept of the familiar model appeared, because of
various changes in family structures, which allow us to recognize the existence not of one but of
several family models (single parent families, reconstituted families, families of dual professions) in
which the dominant emphasis is on the fact that both elements of the couple to have an active attitude
towards work, with women taking a more participation in the public sphere.
Speaking about Gender Equality today is so fundamental, especially if we observe that the Women s
participation in the labour market was not accompanied by growth of men s in the family role.

Three Properties Associated With God In Western Religion
1. Theology is the study of the nature of God and religious belief. Using reason, religious texts,
history, revelation, and science as evidence. Philosophy of Religion grounds human knowledge and

2. The questions Philosophy of Religion deals with are: Existence of God, what is Religion? Faith vs.
Reason, Faith vs. Reason, are there any rational reasons to believe? the Problem of Evil,
Characteristics of Religion, and Problem with the Attributes of deity.
3. Misconceptions think that religion has to do with God and God is Supernatural Beings, greater

The Theodicies of Augustine believed that humans are free but fallen because humanity started
disobedience in the Garden of Eden and mankind is to blame for evil. Iraneus viewed this with a
teleological and developmental view that God is making a soul. He believed that evil has a purpose
and thinks that evil mean end if evil didn t exist, spiritual development wouldn t be created so God
made evil and the purpose was to have evidence if God is all good. John Hick argument is that the
relationship between humankind and God is a parent/ child relationship because parents birth child,
teach their child the difference between good and bad. They much learn how to live a good life as God

William Shakespeare Legacy
To be, or not to be; that is the question. You ve probably heard this quote several times throughout
your lifetime. It was written by a well known English writer in 1599. William Shakespeare was an
honored English play writer, poet, and actor who incorporated many new words into the English
language, and now known famously for several of his poems, plays, songs, and quotes such as the one
previously stated. Shakespeare s career has left its mark on today s society; his legacy continues to
impact us today Shakespeare was born around April 23rd, 1564. There is no way for us to know his

on April 23rd, 1616 in his hometown. His death still remains a mystery to this day. His legacy is one
that will forever leave an impact on our world, as he left behind 38 plays, 154 sonnets, and two
narrative poems that are taught in schools everywhere today. Shakespeare is recognized as one of the

Muhammad Ali Goals
What keeps me going is goals Muhammad Ali
Every elite athlete has psychological training and uses the process of goal setting in order to enhance
their performance. Goal setting is used to enhance concentration, build self confidence and to manage
time and other resources. (Tony M 1995, page 259)
Muhammad Ali is self determined; he wanted to show the world that he is the greatest. To achieve that
training hard and using strategic punches during matches was a vital key to be the greatest boxer and a
role model for the world. Ali s ambition and willingness to work hard drew him closer towards his

Purpose And Symbolism Of The Leather Belt
The object that I chose to discuss is the Leather Belt. This object came from one of the most well
known Native American tribes in the United States, the Navajo. The Navajo tribe was, and currently
is, located within the four states of Arizona, Utah, New Mexico and Colorado also known as the Four
Corners of the southwestern United States. Many people in the region still speak the Navajo language,
as well as English. The Leather Belt was originally made of leather and strapped with eight silver
conchas, the Spanish word for shells. Some believe that the Native Americans stole this idea from the
Mexicans. Within each shell, there is a silver coin design that has been stamped onto the concha. In
order to attach the shells to the belt, each ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When the Mission was initially constructed, many people would depend on the Mission for food and
supplies. They would starve since they were always reliant on additional Missions and New Spain to
send them food. Not only were the living conditions hard at the Mission, but the rules were demanding
as well. The way of life at Mission Santa Barbara comprised of waking up at sunrise each morning for
great prayer then going to work on the Mission. Work was not equal for everyone. Men, women and
children were busy with their own jobs and those kept everyone busy throughout the day. Men would
mostly go through hard labor in the fields and take care of the crops that were being gathered, or
monitor the cattle. On the other hand, women and children classically remained inside the Mission and
finished routine chores. Everyone who lived in the Mission understood that they were likely to follow
the Father s schedule and lifestyle. Not everybody could withstand such a strict lifestyle based on
prayer and work; therefore, many individuals, particularly the Native Americans who were not
accustomed to this lifestyle, would try to escape from Mission

Nashville s Transportation System Analysis
Nashville s transportation consists of a light rail and MTA bus line. The MTA bus line services both
Nashville and Davidson County. Additionally, the MTA offers an Access ride program for individuals
with disabilities. This service provides elderly individuals with a means to get around the city of
Nashville. Similarly, riders with mental and physical disabilities receive discounted tickets. Another
mode of getting around the Nashville area is by a commuter train. The Music City Star began
operating on September 18. 2006. The Star was the first passenger train after the suspension of the
Amtrak s Floridian in 1979. Initially, the rail system failed to accumulate enough passengers.
Currently, there has been an increase in the number of riders each year. As of 2016, there had been

the new transportation will improve Nashville s quality of life and make the city a better place for
generations by giving transportation independence to more Nashvillians . One of the new systems that
would be implemented is a downtown tunnel. The l.8 mile, three stop tunnel under downtown
Nashville would reduce the congestion of the narrow streets. Equally, there will be access stations for
passengers. The tunnel would also serve both the light rail and the new electric buses. Nevertheless,
the tunnel will not be completed until 2027. In addition to constructing a downtown tunnel, the plan
proposes to make improvements to the bus services. The improvements include the usage of electric
buses and the addition of crosstown routes and 15 minute peak services. Lastly, the bus would operate

The Unorthodox Restoration Of A Tarnished Image
I. Introduction
The Unorthodox Restoration of a Tarnished Image is an interesting topic when dealing with
professional athletes. Lebron James is currently in his 14th season in the National Basketball
Association (NBA). He spent his first seven seasons playing for the Cleveland Cavaliers, just 39 miles
from his hometown, Akron. After the 2009 2010 NBA season, James decided not to resign his contract
with the Cleveland Cavaliers and instead sign a contract with the Miami Heat. This decision led to
James joining forces with other NBA superstars such as Chris Bosh, Dwayne Wade, and Ray Allen.
Later to become known as The Decision, James image was tarnished for the way he abandoned his
hometown team and became the villain of the NBA. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The paths that these athletes took were both similar and different from James .
The thesis will take an in depth look on the journey of Lebron James. From the beginning days in
Akron, the fame of his early days in Cleveland, to his villain days in Miami and back up the mountain
to being a hero in Cleveland, it will all be discussed. Lebron James is not only a once in a life time
type of athlete, but once in a life time person and businessman as well. The tactics and lessons one can
learn from his strategies are infinite.
II. Beginning of the Brand The story of Lebron is known by many, but those who see the famous
professional athlete with a superstar status usually do not know what he came from. On December 30,
1984, in Akron, Ohio, Lebron Raymone James was born. His mother, Gloria James, was only 16 years
old at the time and his father, Anthony McClelland, was an ex convict with zero interest in becoming a
parent. With Gloria struggling from addiction and never keeping a steady job, she and Lebron moved
from apartment to apartment during his childhood. In the fourth grade, Lebron moved in with his
township football coach, Frankie Walker (JockBio, 2016). Life was not easy for James growing up,
but he was lucky enough to have others surrounding him to help him rise. He played basketball at
Saint Vincent Saint Mary s High School where he would become a legend. A few of his high school
accolades include USA Today

Ancient Greece s Obsession with Beauty Essay

philosophy, science, art, architecture, beauty, and much more. Beauty now a days is in most cases
considered as how pretty something looks on the outside. Most people these days look at outer beauty

Men would get married around the age of twenty five to thirty. They were very important in ancient
Greece society. In the families the men s role was very important. The man was in charge of the
family. Most men worked during the day as businessmen or farmers. When men are at the house they
were to be treated with respect. During dinner men might have sat in another room while being
entertained by slaves or women. Men also controlled the government. Children had different roles
depending on the gender weather it was a boy or a girl. Most girls were taught to clean, cook, and
weave which were the basic house chores. They were also taught songs and dances so they could
participate in religious festivals. Overall the girls did not have much importance in ancient Greece. All
they mostly did as they grew up is how to become a mom and how to become in charge of a house. On
the other hand boys were much more important than the girls in ancient Greece. At the age of six they
were usually sent for school. At school they learned many different things. They learned how to read,
write, and enjoy poetry and music. They were usually involved in wrestling, running, and many other
gymnastics. They usually began to train for their future jobs at the age of 16. Many boys that wanted
to join the army started training at the age of 7 and finally joined the army at the age of 20. Other jobs

El término Responsabilidad Social en Colombia
El término Responsabilidad Social en Colombia ha tenido diversas connotaciones desde su aparición
en el contexto empresarial. Las administraciones que asocian el término a un mecanismo de
exhibición gerencial materializado en donaciones y eventos aislados en momentos de conveniencia;

The Evolution Of Architecture And Architecture In Ancient...
From the beginning of time, architects and engineers alike have referenced past buildings and
structures and used them to influence new buildings and structures through the advancement of time.
Many of the new buildings retain styles that were used by their predecessors, while adding slight
modifications that the architect may think looks better, or better represents the thoughts of their time.
This is standard practice in the field of architecture and has been for many centuries. Sometimes, the
styles of one or a few people become timeless as they were so well thought out that they remain
applicable to different societies, cultures, and time periods, sometimes for thousands of years. Little
did the people in ancient Rome know, the Pantheon would become one of those buildings. It was
commissioned and designed during the transition period between BC and AD by Marcus Agrippa
during the reign of Augustus, and was formally completed by the emperor Hadrian in the year 126
AD. In the end of the 13th century, three men Arnolfo di Cambio, Filippo Brunelleschi, and Emilio De
Fabris began designing what was originally known as the Il Duomo di Firenze but now referred to as
the Florence Cathedral. Their goal was to design a massive basilica that would replace and engulf the
original church, complete with a massive dome which could likely not have yet been possible if not
for the Pantheon in Rome. As stated before, a lot of the original designs of previous structures are

Introduction:
This unit is designed for a twelfth grade honors British literature class. These students are extremely
gifted and will be taking the AP exam for college credit towards the end of the school year. The
students will be learning about the dynamic and static characters in the book. They will be identifying
how the dynamic character changes throughout the story and how the static characters stay the same.
This is important because these students are undergoing major changes in their lives at this point; they
will be attending college next year and taking a big leap into the somewhat unknown. I want the
students to be able to see the difference between change and what is stagnant. The students will also
be able to chart the progression, or lack thereof in the main characters. The students have prior
knowledge of this short story and have had lessons that go over dynamic and static character traits. I

Changing School Grade To Year-Round Education
Researchers have found that home life plays a very important role in how kids learn. Barbara Heyns,
tested students at the end of the year and at the beginning of the next year in order to see if the
summer months caused this achievement gap to widen. She found that gaps in skills grew quickly
during the summer in between, when school was out (Downey and Gibbs 349). Based on this research,
Downey and Gibbs conclude that school actually lessens the gap because students retain more during
the school year than in the summer months where the gap widens. The obvious solution then, is to
change the school year to year round education, however researchers found that students learned about
the same amount in both school rotations (Downey and Gibbs 346 351). ... Show more content on

Can Schooling Contribute to a More Just Society by Michael A. Apple is about how he thinks
education reform should progress. The article begins with a story of a child crying because he must
repeat fourth grade. Apple tells us that the child, Joseph worked hard and improved over the course of
the year, however he failed two classes. Based on the school s rules, Joseph must repeat the year.
Ultimately, holding students like Joseph back make the school look like they are really trying to
educate their students (Apple 353 354). However, he says we do not exist on a level playing field
therefore, policies will likely benefit wealthy people rather than the poor inner city students (Apple

Consequences Of Betrayal In The Adventures Of Ulysses
Daymieri Narvaez
HR: 306
Oct. 12, 2017
Betrayal
Betrayal is the action of deception against one s country, group, or a person. This action is noted both
in novels and in the real world. The novel The Adventures of Ulysses by Bernard Evslin describes a
scene in which two men betray Ulysses by opening a bag of winds. In the real world, a man named
Edward Snowden betrays his country by revealing classified information he was entrusted with. The
two situations of betrayal are justified and not justified throughout the texts they are mentioned in. In
the novel, The Adventures of Ulysses, Ulysses was guarding a bag of winds given to him by Aeolus.
He stood awake day and night, protecting the bag from the wandering minds of his crew, but when his
eyes gave out, two men took their chances and opened the bag. Though, the consequences that the
whole crew experienced cost them dearly, they had reasons for doing this. Predominantly, the two men
were tricked by the god of the sea, Poseidon, to open the bag. The god made sounds of clicking
trinkets and it lured the men to open the bag since they were profoundly greedy and have been battling
in a war for ten years. On page 36 of the novel, it states, Then Poseidon, swimming invisibly
alongside, clinked his golden armlets. The men heard the clinking and thought it came from the bag.
This demonstrates that the trickery of Poseidon encouraged the men to open the bag since they were
vulnerable the sound of trinkets. Additionally, Ulysses never told his crew what the bag contained and
why they shouldn t open it. If he did, the whole situation could have been avoided. All the same,
Ulysses was a trusted man and leader. The two men who betrayed him should have known better than
to doubt that their leader wouldn t have shared if it were real gold. Primarily, Ulysses had been the one
making the right decisions all the time and has gotten his crew out of trouble when needed. On page
36, in the text, it states, It is true, said the first, that he has always been generous. He shared the spoils
of Troy. This testifies that Ulysses had never kept anything to himself, he always shared his riches
with his crew. Thus, the two men should have thought a bit more before

Negative Effects Of Working On Teenagers
Work! Work! Work! Work! In today s society, teenagers are seeking jobs to earn money even though

their financial problems. It is very common to teenagers to get a job at a young age. It did not really

pushes teenagers to do their best. Working early has both positive and negative impact to young
adults. However, that is their only way to survive in this world is to get a part time job to at least help
them. Having a job help teenagers to be on time to avoid consequences, expansion of knowledge, and
realize the reality of life. A job that is common to teenagers is working at McDonalds. This is common
because it is an entry level job and a good way to start. Working at McDonalds help teenagers be more
attentive in listening because they need to get the customer s order right before the customer gets mad.
In every job, they need to be on time because if they are on time, they have consequence. As an
example of a consequence, the manager will yell at them. In an article written

Saul Bellow Response essay
In Saul Bellow s essay, Hidden Within Technology s Kingdom, a Republic of Letters, he reveals to us
that by the 1930 s the media was beginning to make the written word obsolete.
Most of Americans are losing their since of literature. Bellow tells us of how Oswald Spengler, one of
the most widely read authors of the early 30s, taught that our tired old civilization was very nearly
finished. His advice to the young was to avoid literature and the arts and to embrace mechanization
and become engineers. Shocked by Oswald Spengler conclusion Bellow refused to me obsolete. He
had faced the challenge and defied the evolutionist historians. A few years later, in an issue of The
Wall Street Journal, Bellow came upon an old ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In 2002, only 52 percent of Americans ages 18 to 24, the college years, read a book voluntarily, down
from 59 percent in 1992. Money spent on books dropped 14 percent from 1985 to 2005 and has fallen
dramatically since the mid 1990s. The number of adults with bachelor s degrees and proficient
in reading prose dropped from 40 percent in 1992 to 31 percent in 2003.
I believe that print media will soon become obsolete if it is not already obsolete. There are billions of
cell phone users worldwide. It is much easier for them to get the bulk of their news and information
online. Why would they go to a store to buy a newspaper or magazine, when all they have to do is turn
on a cell phone? I believe with the advent of tablets and e readers, there will be a time that print media
is obsolete. I already find that anytime I am required to print something, I am shocked that in 2013 we
can t have an e solution. With newspapers dying by the day, I think that e media will be the thing left
standing. What motivates us to read? Interest, engagement in the topic, desire to understand, having
the choice and recommendation of those we trust leads us to a book. How often do we take the path
less traveled instead of turning on a computer or the television?
What might our society lose if people read fewer books? We may be slowly evolving to be less

Security In Australia
Introduction.
Crime, violence and safety are issues that concern the whole world; the increase in crime is a social
phenomenon of great momentousness where victims are usually citizens. On many occasions of daily

Schubert s Elfking was his initially distributed creation, and has turned out to be considered among the
finest tunes in the established repertoire. The content that the music is set to be composed by that
popular German artistic figure, Goethe. It is a somewhat dull sonnet, particularly considering that it
was imagined as a section of a bigger work in an abstract class with entertaining and humorous

In Our Time by Ernest Hemingway
In Our Time, written by Ernest Hemingway, is a collection of short stories that were published in 1925
and defined Hemingway s writing style from there on. As a symbolic image of Hemingway himself,
Nick Adams is faced with troubling relationships that ultimately define who he is. Life experiences
from young to old define show how Nick lives his love before, during, and after World War One.
These experiences strengthen his relationships, maturity, and masculinity. One of the most important
themes, masculinity, is portrayed directly at the start of Hemingway s short story collection starting
with Indian Camp. In the first short story the reader sees the novels protagonist, Nick Adams ,
response to violence and suffering inflicted on others will ultimately define his own sense of
masculinity (Frazier). Witnessing this dramatic event at such a young age will define Nick s life and
change the way he views certain aspects of life just from watching a woman give birth. Nick s
maturity and responsibility are also themes that are greatly exploited just as well as his masculinity.
The reader first learns about Nick and his relationships with his girlfriend Marjorie in the short story
titled The End of Something. The title of this section symbolically relates to what is happening
because Nick and Marjorie get into an argument which seems to end their relationship. Lisa Tyler
states what Hemingway seems to be suggesting in In Our Time is that men s characters are

Advent Of The Sasanian Period
1 At the advent of the Sasanian period, Opposition between Zoroastrianism, Sasanian official and
patronized religion, and Semitic religions, specifically Christianism, which traditionally rely on their
holy books, compelled the clergies to give up their mere reliance on oral tradition and commence
writing down the sacred book Avesta . This radical change very soon required them to generate
exposition and exegesis, namely, Zand and subsequently commentaries on both Avesta and Zand
which led to the prosperity of religious and juridical and consequently other types of Middle Persian
literature. Furthermore, Compiled Avesta in that time not only contained religious subjects but also
covered philosophy, logic, rhetoric, and even natural sciences such as medicine and astronomy which
shows that everything was interpreted in connection with religion and consequently required
explanatory treatises. Moreover, Sasanian kings exorbitant sponsorship of Zoroastrianism brought the
priesthood endless political and financial power which enabled them to sponsor religious schools and
consequently promoted composition of religious works more than before.
2 After the downfall of Sasanian dynasty, Zoroastrianism s deprivation of administrative power, the
threat of religious conversion, the decrease in the number of priesthood applicants and defect in the
body of the Zoroastrian clerical system not only led to the expedition of religious texts copying but
also compelled the prominent priests

Baroque Period Research Paper
Baroque Period, during which a few of the greatest composers on this planet were born, brought
classical music onto a whole new level. The word Baroque , which came from the Portuguese for the
imperfect pearl , implies strange, extravagant and overblown. Toccata, fugue, chorale, ortario, and the
concerto Grosso, all of these special musical forms were created and represent this period. The six
main characteristics: increased emotional expression, contrast, use of basso continuo, continued
harmonic development, use of ornament, and the emphasis of improvisation, molded the unique style
of music of the Baroque period.
First of all, one of the most important characteristics of music in this period was the increased
emotional expression. During the Renaissance, emotions of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

At this period, composers rarely wrote out ornaments because they expected performers to add them
on their own. Thus, sometimes the same piece sounds different because performers add ornaments on
their own. Additionally, long treaties about proper usage of ornaments were written.
Finally, the last element is the emphasis on improvisation: the ability to extemporaneously compose
on an existing melody. This is often considered as a chance to show off for the performers. Through
improvisations and ornaments which were both elaborated by the extemporaneously composition of
performers added interest and differences between music and even the same piece of music might
sound different.
All of these elements constructed the unique structure and texture of the Baroque music. Without any
one of them, music would not be as interesting as it is now, and the signature of each composer and
characteristic of each piece would not be as different as they are now. Through understanding these
characteristics, one can further understand the texture of Baroque music and understand what the
composer thought while composing this

ICAP Class Reflection
For my ICAP unit I wrote my lessons on living and nonliving things and how they adapt to their
environment. My teacher assigned this topic to me. I am glad my teacher assigned me a science topic.
This school focuses a lot on math and language arts so science gets left out a lot so I am glad I could
teach a fun lesson in the classroom. My unit fits in with what they were learning during language arts.
There would be times my lesson ended up being a preview of what they would learn or would be a
review. It worked out well to have them read or hear about different animals and environments then
later do an activity. It helped them learn the facts in many different ways. Something else I had to
consider while writing lessons are what they already learned. Living and nonliving things are
something that is covered in every grade. I had to make sure I was building on what they already
knew. I didn t want to make my lessons something they already knew, but I didn t want to make it so
hard they didn t understand.
My class is very diverse when it comes to the students learning levels. I have some students that have
a really hard time focusing and needs lots of reminders to stay on topic. Because of this, I decided to

Analysis Of Jealous Extremaduran And Deceitful Marriage
The exemplary novels are timeless not only for the stories they tell, but also for the vivid ways in
which they depict society at the time when these stories were written. Through the analysis of
Cervantes s Jealous Extremaduran and Deceitful Marriage, one is able to see and dissect the many
jobs and roles played by people in society during the 16th and 17th centuries in Spain. In the story
entitled The Jealous Extremaduran, Cervantes exhibits the roles of a hidalgo turned indiano, poor
aristocrat, child of a merchant, and multiple slaves. In this story, a man named Felipe de Carrizales is
born into vast wealth and depicted as a Hidalgo, or a nobleman. He spends it all upon finite entities
and becomes stripped of all affluence. He then goes to the New World, becomes rich and returns to his
homeland of Spain as an indiano. He subsequently falls in love with a young and beautiful girl,
Leonora, and marries her. Leonora is a great representation of the aristocracy in Spain, because she is
born with a good family, but does not possess any sort of wealth. Many people in Spain at this time
had an aristocratic title, but only a select few held the wealth due to the practice of mayorazgo. Those
like Leonora in society at that time were known as segundónes. While Carrizales is married to her, he
has such a fear of her being unfaithful to him, that he builds a house analogous to a prison to hold her.

Bearing in mind the prevailing issue of creative accounting, one cannot help but to question the
accuracy of the data, be it to a small degree, presented in data sources such as prospectuses and annual
reports. It is fair to say that the evidences presented in for example table 4 and 5 give a logical support
to the assertions and observations made by the author.
Overall, I believe the author has been successful in terms of providing the reader an understanding and
depths as to what are the key drivers behind the use of this practice. The paper lightly attempts to
outline an important question why or for how long these motivators and constraints support creative
accounting schemes appear to go undetected. Shah (1998) concluded that despite Tesco pursuing

repercussions on the firms. Consequently, it does not only identify and state factors and answer his

concept flourished in the 1980 s. Shah (1998) defines this environment as where accounting numbers

of its arcades and Sega owns several of the arcade games. (Snow) Rhythm and fighting games are on
the top of the list for Japanese arcade games. (Snow) Music is usually loud with these games, along
with flashing lights and the bells and whistles.
Namco, based in Japan, was one of the first to enter the Golden Era of arcade video games. ( The
History of ) One of their most famous games was, and still today is Pac Man. ( The History of ) Pac
Man is the only video game that is still in production today and is still distributed by Namco. ( The

Some of companies of the 1980s were Nintendo, Sega, Epoch, Bandai and Sony. ( 5 of 7 ) They were
all designing new video game consoles and developing games to sell with the console. ( 5 of 7 ) Some
companies were epic failures and others opened the way to new technologies. The Famicom Disk
System, which was released by Nintendo, also known as the FDS, failed in Japan and both the game
system and the games were unreliable. Regardless of case, several million were sold. (McFerran) In

Generally, costume jewellery refers to ornaments designed...
Generally, costume jewellery refers to ornaments designed sans precious or semi precious metals
though an uncommon trend of using a combination of junk metals with semi precious stones and
metals is also in existence. Such jewellery does turn out much more expensive than the usual costume
jewellery but the price is justified by their exquisite quality and beauty. The mass market, however,
still caters to costume jewellery in the range of Rs 500 to Rs 5000. Typical costume ornaments include
earrings, bracelets, necklaces, brooches, cuff links and rings. Fashion accessories, on the other hand,
include bags, fascinators, scarves and belts. Together costume jewellery and fashion accessories
account for over 30% of the overall fashion ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Cutting out the freight costs and selling directly at the point of origin is a goal most players in the field
are eyeing for.
(d) The price of gold and other precious metals is still very high. Gold prices have been on a steady
upslope from 2001 till now. Silver is a similar, if not as dramatic a story. This obviously tilts the
markets in favour of cheaper and more often than not, more trendy options of fashion accessories and
costume jewellery.
However, as in most business stories, all isn t as rosy and there is more to it than meets the eye. These
opportunities aside, there are certain challenges the industry faces in the quest for growth and
sustainence:
(a) Fashion Accessory business is boosted by a high percentage of impulse buys. Online accessory and
costume jewellery retailers need to face a lot of challenges in this regard as the prospective buyers
have instant access to comparative prices and multiple options. Smaller retailers need to also consider
how they can innovate to maximize their sales by targeting the impulsiveness of the buyers and the
transparency of the internet.
(b) The present is a boon period for Fashion Accessories industry as expected worldwide consumer
spending in this sector is likely to grow by 4 to 5 percent. Such prospects lure several new entrants to
join the industry, some of which happen to be established names in other industries. The continued
growth of online accessories sales is a two edged sword for both, the

The Absolute Sweet Life Of Nolan Ryan Skurat
The Absolute Sweet Life of Nolan Ryan Skurat. By:Ryan Skurat As a young boy Nolan had always
had a passion for sports. He had played just about all the sports you could think besides lacrosse and
hockey. Those are some pretty sweet sports though. Nolan was very interested in football at a young
age. He had played for mid rivers and played for o fallon, these little league teams were pretty good
winning the renegade rumble on both teams. After the years had passed he decided after getting a knee
injury to take a break and look elsewhere in sports and see what he is good at. In 8th grade Nolan
played basketball for a team form st.charles with his buddies Spencer and Alex. The sport actually
came natural and they won second place in the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The coaches only gave him a double inning and then it was the next guy in lines turn. Nolan had a
friend named jason and they were best buds. They had done everything together. Nolan had never
played competitive sports and Jason had introduced him to all of the real competition in basketball and
baseball. Nolan was starting out and actually held his own. He had a lot of work to be done which that
came with some money involved. He had played for the stallions and prospects. Each team costed a
pretty penny and his mom had to fit the bill. Jason s parents did the same but the difference was about
college. Jason wanted to go to play college whereas Nolan didn t want to make plans that might not be
worth his troubles. When they got into their 8th grade year they had been the talk of the town. Before
their freshman year had started they had gone to some camps to show off for high school coaches.
Nolan and Jason didn t not let anyone down. Nolan had gone ⅘ and jason had gone 5/5. It was very
neat for the kids and they became workout buddies after. Every day they had hung out to do some sort
of athletic activity. It was mostly baseball. They had played for hours every day over the summer and
when they got tired of that they started playing basketball. They had played on the same team in sports
since 8th grade and unfortunately it came to an end their senior year. Nolan had been experiencing
some pain in his elbow when he was throwing so he

Usui Reiki Research Paper
THE CONCEPT OF REIKI
Reiki is a Japanese form of stress reduction and relaxation that promotes healing through the laying on
of hands. Despite being often referred to as spiritual healing, reiki is a secular practice and is unrelated
to any religion or faith system. Rather, it centres on the belief that all beings are created and sustained
by a universal life force energy, which, if disrupted, weakened or blocked, can result in emotional
and/or physical dis ease. Reiki practitioners act as a channel for this energy, which flows through them
and into the recipient via a series of hand positions relating to the seven main chakras, which in turn
are linked to the body s endocrine system, thereby restoring the energetic balance and encouraging the
body to self heal. As the flow of reiki energy is absorbed by the recipient through both the subtle and
physical bodies, reiki ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Before his death in 1926, Dr Usui trained 17 people in the Usui Reiki System. One of these was Dr
Chujiro Hayashi, who subsequently initiated Mrs Hawayo Takata, the woman credited with
introducing Reiki in the West after the Second World War and to whom the majority of Western
practitioners can directly trace their reiki lineage. The 22 initiates trained by Mrs Takata before her
death in 1980 went on to train countless others, and the practice has expanded exponentially ever
since, with tens of thousands of practitioners now active all over the world.
In recent years, reiki has gained a more widestream acceptance and is increasingly employed in
Western medicine as a complementary therapy for those undergoing treatment for cancer, anxiety,

Wwan War Research Paper BRISBANE AT WAR 1939 till 1945 The United States of America entered WW2 in 1941, directing their campaign from Australia as it started to perceive threats from Japan (2). By 1942, Brisbane had been set up as the support and training base for the Pacific War (2). Military personal from America started arriving in Brisbane, with the small number of troops requiring accommodation being dealt with by leasing rooms in many of the CBDs hotels, guest houses, or by leasing rooms in private residences (5). This solution was quickly obsolete as troops poured into the city, with approximately 100,000 US troops stationed around the city between 1942 and 1945 (1 3). Since the racecourse was an important recreation facility in Brisbane, the Americans were not allowed to damage the racetracks, therefore the campsite remained a tented city, with only a few temporary pre fabricated buildings (5). Similarly, Victoria Park, another large open field, was offered to the US Army to set up camp. It too was handed over with very strict rules that it had to be given back to council with no damages. The sites close proximity to the CBD and Normanby rail yards made it a prime spot for the troops, and so a camp site was set up with prefabricated huts spread throughout the park. The exhibition grounds, The Rocklea State School and showgrounds, Yeronga Park, the Camp site in Moorooka, and the Chermside Army Camps were all also sites chosen due to their large grounds and access to tramlines. Chermside in particular, had to accommodate 3,500 militia troops, and so they were accommodated on a large paddock that was close to Geebung railway station and also had good road access. The camps had a vast array of tented lines for accommodation, with pre fabricated buildings housing the camps messes and bathing areas (5). Camp sites sometimes also had a certain type of demographic allowed inside. This segregation meant that there were sites specifically for married men, bachelors, African Americans, and Females. The Security And Privacy Of Citizens Essay upon recently watching a movie titled Blow, I found myself asking how something like such could be related to the embassy bombing events and others, like the bombing of the World Trade Centers, and I quickly discovered that there are thousands of ways in which this is possible. In fact it is relevant enough that the past two Presidents (Clinton/Bush Jr.) have drawn up plans to stop it and it appears that America has an opportunity to tackle two rather large problems in one fight, killing two birds with one stone per say. The only question left too answer would be what sacrifices will the citizens of America be forced to make? Where will the line be drawn in the security and privacy of citizens. How much are you willing to give up to lower your chances of being the recipient of a terrorist attack? (Drug Enforcement Agency hosts symposium on topic) The links between terrorism and narcotrafficking are real and growing, according to current and former U.S. officials who participated in a special symposium December 4 at the headquarters of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). The mighty category 5 hurricane left thousands of Louisiana residents without food, water and shelter. The devastation of the storm led the levies of the flood protecting dam to break leaving the city underwater during the catastrophe. This natural disaster will go down in American history as the worst of its kind. Although all the unfortunate natural events that made this tragedy possible, the supervision of the event was almost as bad as the hurricane itself. There are many fingers to point at the different people handling the situation but one this is clear, it was not handled properly. The blame all fell on a select few individuals ranging from The President of the United States of America to the Mayor of New Orleans. Kathleen Blanco, a former schoolteacher and two term Lt. Governor of Louisiana, elected governor in January 2004 and who was in charge of Louisiana s response when Hurricane Katrina struck on Aug. 29, 2005. From the beginning of time, architects and engineers alike have referenced past buildings and structures and used them to influence new buildings and structures through the advancement of time. Many of the new buildings retain styles that were used by their predecessors, while adding slight modifications that the architect may think looks better, or better represents the thoughts of their time. This is standard practice in the field of architecture and has been for many centuries. Sometimes, the styles of one or a few people become timeless as they were so well thought out that they remain applicable to different societies, cultures, and time periods, sometimes for thousands of years. Little did the people in ancient Rome know, the Pantheon would become one of those buildings. It was commissioned and designed during the transition period between BC and AD by Marcus Agrippa during the reign of Augustus, and was formally completed by the emperor Hadrian in the year 126 AD. In the end of the 13th century, three men Arnolfo di Cambio, Filippo Brunelleschi, and Emilio De Fabris began designing what was originally known as the Il Duomo di Firenze but now referred to as the Florence Cathedral. Barbara Heyns, tested students at the end of the year and at the beginning of the next year in order to see if the summer months caused this achievement gap to widen. She found that gaps in skills grew quickly during the summer in between, when school was out (Downey and Gibbs 349). Based on this research, Downey and Gibbs conclude that school actually lessens the gap because students retain more during the school year than in the summer months where the gap widens. The obvious solution then, is to change the school year to year round education, however researchers found that students learned about the same amount in both school rotations (Downey and Gibbs 346 351). ... • 21. Consequences Of Betrayal In The Adventures Of Ulysses Daymieri Narvaez HR: 306 Oct. 12, 2017 Betrayal Betrayal is the action of deception against one s country, group, or a person. This action is noted both in novels and in the real world. The novel The Adventures of Ulysses by Bernard Evslin describes a scene in which two men betray Ulysses by opening a bag of winds. In the real world, a man named Edward Snowden betrays his country by revealing classified information he was entrusted with. The two situations of betrayal are justified and not justified throughout the texts they are mentioned in. In the novel, The Adventures of Ulysses, Ulysses was guarding a bag of winds given to him by Aeolus. He stood awake day and night, protecting the bag from the wandering minds of his crew, but when his eyes gave out, two men took their chances and opened the bag. Though, the consequences that the whole crew experienced cost them dearly, they had reasons for doing this. Predominantly, the two men were tricked by the god of the sea, Poseidon, to open the bag. The god made sounds of clicking trinkets and it lured the men to open the bag since they were profoundly greedy and have been battling in a war for ten years. On page 36 of the novel, it states, Then Poseidon, swimming invisibly alongside, clinked his golden armlets. The men heard the clinking and thought it came from the bag. This demonstrates that the trickery of Poseidon encouraged the men to open the bag since they were vulnerable the sound of trinkets. Additionally, Ulysses never told his crew what the bag contained and why they shouldn t open it. If he did, the whole situation could have been avoided. All the same, Ulysses was a trusted man and leader. The two men who betrayed him should have known better than to doubt that their leader wouldn t have shared if it were real gold. Primarily, Ulysses had been the one making the right decisions all the time and has gotten his crew out of trouble when needed. On page 36, in the text, it states, It is true, said the first, that he has always been generous. He shared the spoils of Troy. This testifies that Ulysses had never kept anything to himself, he always shared his riches with his crew. Thus, the two men should have thought a bit more before ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A similar piece in G major or even E minor would likely be indistinguishable with the previously mentioned dim state of mind of the ballad and its undauntedly terrible conclusion. With the scene appropriately set, and our consideration conveyed to father and child, the child is protected from the components, we go into the discourse between the two planning to take in more of the reasons for the situation. We are immediately arranged with a couple of bars of an indistinguishable piano written work from in the first place, and afterward, insight continues to be demonstrated instead of told. The father inquires as to why his child is concealing his face in fear. When the last expression of the expression is sung, there is a rhythm in C minor getting ready for the passageway of the kid. Advent Of The Sasanian Period 1 At the advent of the Sasanian period, Opposition between Zoroastrianism, Sasanian official and patronized religion, and Semitic religions, specifically Christianism, which traditionally rely on their holy books, compelled the clergies to give up their mere reliance on oral tradition and commence writing down the sacred book Avesta . This radical change very soon required them to generate exposition and exegesis, namely, Zand and subsequently commentaries on both Avesta and Zand which led to the prosperity of religious and juridical and consequently other types of Middle Persian literature. Furthermore, Compiled Avesta in that time not only contained religious subjects but also covered philosophy, logic, rhetoric, and even natural sciences such as medicine and astronomy which shows that everything was interpreted in connection with religion and consequently required explanatory treatises. Moreover, Sasanian kings exorbitant sponsorship of Zoroastrianism brought the priesthood endless political and financial power which enabled them to sponsor religious schools and consequently promoted composition of religious works more than before. 2 After the downfall of Sasanian dynasty, Zoroastrianism s deprivation of administrative power, the threat of religious conversion, the decrease in the number of priesthood applicants and defect in the body of the Zoroastrian clerical system not only led to the expedition of religious texts copying but also compelled the prominent priests ... The word Baroque , which came from the Portuguese for the imperfect pearl , implies strange, extravagant and overblown. Toccata, fugue, chorale, ortario, and the concerto Grosso, all of these special musical forms were created and represent this period. The six main characteristics: increased emotional expression, contrast, use of basso continuo, continued harmonic development, use of ornament, and the emphasis of improvisation, molded the unique style of music of the Baroque period. Thus, sometimes the same piece sounds different because performers add ornaments on their own. Additionally, long treaties about proper usage of ornaments were written. Through improvisations and ornaments which were both elaborated by the extemporaneously composition of performers added interest and differences between music and even the same piece of music might sound different. I am glad my teacher assigned me a science topic. This school focuses a lot on math and language arts so science gets left out a lot so I am glad I could teach a fun lesson in the classroom. My unit fits in with what they were learning during language arts. There would be times my lesson ended up being a preview of what they would learn or would be a review. It worked out well to have them read or hear about different animals and environments then later do an activity. It helped them learn the facts in many different ways. Something else I had to consider while writing lessons are what they already learned. Living and nonliving things are something that is covered in every grade. I had to make sure I was building on what they already knew. I didn t want to make my lessons something they already knew, but I didn t want to make it so hard they didn t understand. • 38. Analysis Of Jealous Extremaduran And Deceitful Marriage The exemplary novels are timeless not only for the stories they tell, but also for the vivid ways in which they depict society at the time when these stories were written. Through the analysis of Cervantes s Jealous Extremaduran and Deceitful Marriage, one is able to see and dissect the many jobs and roles played by people in society during the 16th and 17th centuries in Spain. In the story entitled The Jealous Extremaduran, Cervantes exhibits the roles of a hidalgo turned indiano, poor aristocrat, child of a merchant, and multiple slaves. In this story, a man named Felipe de Carrizales is born into vast wealth and depicted as a Hidalgo, or a nobleman. He spends it all upon finite entities and becomes stripped of all affluence. He then goes to the New World, becomes rich and returns to his homeland of Spain as an indiano. He subsequently falls in love with a young and beautiful girl, Leonora, and marries her. Leonora is a great representation of the aristocracy in Spain, because she is born with a good family, but does not possess any sort of wealth. Many people in Spain at this time had an aristocratic title, but only a select few held the wealth due to the practice of mayorazgo. Those like Leonora in society at that time were known as segundónes. While Carrizales is married to her, he has such a fear of her being unfaithful to him, that he builds a house analogous to a prison to hold her. In my academic journal Jennie Davis expresses on the other hand, drivers are uncertain if Uber will cover them. Also, that in certain cities they treat their policies differently and may not cover. It is fair to say that the evidences presented in for example table 4 and 5 give a logical support to the assertions and observations made by the author. Overall, I believe the author has been successful in terms of providing the reader an understanding and depths as to what are the key drivers behind the use of this practice. The paper lightly attempts to outline an important question why or for how long these motivators and constraints support creative accounting schemes appear to go undetected. Shah (1998) concluded that despite Tesco pursuing similar policies to that of Burton, it had a healthy underlying performance and so had fewer repercussions on the firms. Despite being often referred to as spiritual healing, reiki is a secular practice and is unrelated to any religion or faith system. Reiki practitioners act as a channel for this energy, which flows through them and into the recipient via a series of hand positions relating to the seven main chakras, which in turn are linked to the body s endocrine system, thereby restoring the energetic balance and encouraging the body to self heal.
