My College Career Analysis
Like any other education, college is important and allows us to explore and gain more experience
about particular subjects. From starting a path to a successful career, to shaping a path for the future,
college provides practice in social skills, academic skills, and provides career opportunities. To be a
research and development scientist, a possible topic to major in is bioengineering or biology. Many
colleges that provide good classes for biology and bioengineering are University of California
Berkeley (UC Berkeley), California Polytechnic State University San Luis Obispo (Cal Poly SLO),
Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Central Oregon Community College, and California
Institute of Technology (CalTech).

San Luis Obispo, which is about 4 hours away from Hercules by car, is still close to home and has
great scenery. Since this university doesn t require students to live in dorms, students may live in
houses near the college and roam the city during weekends. San Luis Obispo has many beaches and is
great for people who like the outdoors. Cal Poly also has a great reputation for science and
engineering. Tuition fee for Cal Poly SLO is less expensive than many other universities and can be
less than $11,000. However, there is not much diversity in terms of ethnicity. While 42.7% of students
are Hispanic/Latino, Asian, and other, 57.3% are caucasian. Though it is still diverse, it is less diverse
than UC Berkeley. A con of Cal Poly is its location. It is beautiful city full of nature, but is not close to
any big cities. Cal Poly SLO s acceptance rate is 29.5%, higher than UC Berkeley, meaning it could be
less competitive. The student to faculty ratio is 19 to 1, which means students can form close bonds
with teachers. This allows students to get more help and

the end of the year she decided she need to go back to the basics, she dropped out of the IB program

her counselor, and her CSU Trio Advisor which gave her hope and a goal for her future. Her Junior
year came along where she was a part of concurrent enrollment classes, a leadership course, and a
religious education mentor. At the end of her junior year, her parents had decided to move to Texas for
personal and financial reasons. Not wanting to leave the opportunities she would get in Colorado she
stayed behind for her future. Having difficulties living away from home, she focused on work and
school. This allowed her to not want to wait until college to make a difference; with other students and
staff, they began a mentoring program with middle schoolers at Lincoln, to help students just like her.
Having the best grades in her education and the dedication to help others like her she decided the

Under a primary relationship, the shareholder provides equity capital to the corporation in exchange
for shares. The shareholder can receive a return from the shares in the form of dividend distributions
and/or share value enhancement. Under a secondary relationship, the shareholders may also act as a
creditor, supplier, customer, employee, or lessor to the corporation. They can, therefore, loan money to
the company in exchange for interest, lease property to the company in exchange for rent, provide
services in exchange for salary and so on. R11 3. The following factors may influence the value of a
corporation s common share capital. Profits earned or losses incurred by the corporation. Profits
retained belong to the common shareholders and the share value increases accordingly. Dividends paid
by the corporation. Dividend distributions reduce the equity of the corporation and the share value
declines accordingly. Increases or decreases in the value of assets owned by the corporation, including
tangible assets such as land and buildings, and intangible assets such as goodwill. R11 4. A
shareholder who provides share capital to a corporation can realize a return on investment from
dividends or from capital gains when shares that have increased in value are sold. The two are related
because dividend payments alter the value of the shares, thereby affecting the potential capital gain
(loss) on sale.

Changing Oil in Your Car Essay
Changing Oil in Your Car
When the average person s car needs an oil change we drive to a Quick Lube and have it done in 20
minutes. Another alternative would be to change the oil your self, this is a fairly simple process, most
people with some common sense and some basic hand tools can do it at home on a weekend. The first
step is finding out how much oil your car holds and what kind of oil filter fits on your cars engine.
Your car s owner s manual will have a capacity section in the back, down the list till you come to the
engine oil capacity, and the chart will list the number of quarts that your car needs. Also on most new
cars when you can look on the oil cap it should state the oil weight which is recommended by the cars

Once you have the car in the air you will want to put some jack stands under each side and lower the
car down on these, this will prevent the car from falling on you if the jack where to collapse, since
jacks are only designed to pick the car up, not support it all day. Once the car is safely on the jack
stands, you are ready to change the oil.
First, you need to remove the oil fill cap under the hood so the oil will flow out freely. Be sure that
you have a container for the used oil later; take it to recycle centers which are usually located around
town. Remember that it is now illegal to dump oil anywhere. Next find the drain plug, which will be
located on the bottom of the engine block. It is the only plug located usually in the middle of a black
pan in the front of the vehicle. Be careful that you have the right plug because some transmissions are
also equipped with a drain plug. Once the plug has been located, find the right size socket or wrench
to fit it, and be careful not to round of the head of the drain plug when you are removing it. Then let
the oil drain in to your container. When the pan has drained replace the plug, but do not over tighten it
because you can strip the treads out of pan. Next, you need to find the oil filter, which should be
located on either side of the engine block. Then take the oil filter wrench and put it around the filter
and remove the old filter. Then take your new filter and take a little

Romeo And Juliet Plans Essay
Everybody makes plans every day. Plans are part of our daily lives. In the tragic play Romeo and
Juliet by William Shakespeare, the local priest, Friar Laurence, loved to make plans. He tried to make
peace between rival family s, the Capulets, and the Montagues. He devised many risky plans
involving the two teens Romeo Montague and Juliet Capulet. Friar Lawrence s plans included Romeo
and Juliet s secret marriage, Romeo s Banishment, and Juliet s fake death. All of these plans affected
the characters and the outcome of the play. Friar Lawrence s first plan, to marry Romeo and Juliet is
what really started this whole mess. Romeo went directly to Friar to ask him about marrying him to
Juliet. Friar was hesitant to help Romeo. Especially because he was just in love with Roseline not to ...

threatening to shoot herself in the head if Friar could not get Romeo back. Friar Lawrence told Juliet
to put the gun down and listen to his new plan. He told her to drink this potion that would put her to
sleep for a few hours to make everyone believe that she is dead. After the funeral and her burial
Romeo would sneak back in to Verona, dig her up, take her body out of the coffin, and they would run
away and be happy. At first Juliet was skeptical of the plan she had multiple fears but in the end
agreed that this was the only chance she had. However, this plan might of worked if Friar Laurence s
servant boy could have gotten the message to Romeo sooner. Therefore Romeo received the news that
Juliet was really dead. Romeo ends up committing suicide because he thought his wife was deceased.
Now Romeo is dead and the whole town thinks Juliet is dead. Friar Laurence has made gigantic

The Dependence On Fossil Fuels
Title Since the invention of the car over a century ago, people have become highly dependent on fossil
fuels. Over the past few decades it has become clear that this dependence has been having disastrous
effects on the environment, our health, our economy, and our future. Not only that, but fossil fuels are
a finite supply and once they are depleted, there is no getting more. If we are to continue to thrive as a
society, it is imperative that we reduce our dependence on non renewable fossil fuels, and move
towards renewable energy sources such as electricity, biofuels, and hydrogen. Fossil fuels have been
used to power our vehicles since the invention of the car in the late 19th century. And with more
people driving cars over the years, the total consumption of oil has increased dramatically. According
to the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA), the United States used 8.8 million barrels of
gasoline (368 million gallons) a day for transportation in 2014 (Energy Information Administration).
This is an alarming rate, considering the world only has so much oil. The EIA has predicted that the
world has enough oil to carry the industries that rely on it through 2040 (Energy Information
Administration). Beyond that, it is uncertain if we will have enough oil, not only for transportation,
but also for the thousands of other industries that depend on it as their primary source of energy.
Besides going scarce, another issue with relying on fossil fuels for energy is

Change can be made at any point and can be made to anything. However, to initiate change an action

that war is a catalyst for change. Trotsky was a communist who helped to ignite the Russian

The first major event is when Jonah and Alex met up in the airport and came to the realization of what

Social Penetration Theory Believes Relationships Can Progress
Social penetration theory believes relationships can progress from platonic to intimate through
increasing self disclosure (West Turner, 2010, pp. 168 169). During the initial stages of a relationship,
self disclosure needs to be reciprocated, in order for trust to form (Wright, 2017). Any relationship can
evolve by using social penetration theory; it is not specific to any one type of relationship. However,
talking about sensitive topics is not easy, and can lead to a person feeling vulnerable. Consequently, it
is imperative, during the initial stages of a relationship, that self disclosure is reciprocated, in order to
form trust (West Turner, 2010, pp. 168 169 Wright, 2017). Social penetration theory predicts

I did this because; the theories are exemplified in both interactions. For my familiar relationship, I
chose my roommate, who has also been my friend for four years. After I logged and reflected on our
conversations, I noticed I was reviewing the conversations as either a negative or a positive, thus
realizing the social exchange theory applied best to my familiar subject. However, social penetration is
exemplified when we talked about sensitive topics. Social penetration is supported more by my
unfamiliar subject, or my coworker, but social exchange is also exemplified when we shared similar
characteristics.
Social exchange theory rates interactions as either a positive or negative. Many of my interactions
between my roommate was more negative than positive. For example on, 3/21/17, she asked for
suggestions on her homework assignment because she wanted to know how to improve it. Also, on,
3/22/17, we were debating on who should drive, despite the fact it was her idea to go out, because she
did not want to, I had to. These conversations seem trivial on the surface, but there small examples of
what I give to the friendship, with nothing in return, making them a cost to the friendship. Another
example of a cost was on, 3/25/17, we had a discussion about profanity, because she uses profanity
excessively and I rarely do. She said she wanted to stop using as much profanity, but yet she has never
made the effort to do so. Thus, each time she uses profanity, it becomes a

Holocaust Survivor, Elie Wiesel s Strategies in The Perils...
Elie Wiesel a Holocaust survivor and award winning human rights activist passionately gave his
speech, The Perils of Indifference, while in the White House on April 12, 1999. The speech was part
of the Millennium Lecture series, which was hosted by President Bill Clinton and his wife. Mrs.
Hilary Clinton introduced Elie as well, saying: It was more than a year ago that I asked Elie if he
would be willing to participate in these Millennium Lectures...I never could have imagined that when
the time finally came for him to stand in this spot and to reflect on the past century and the future to
come, that we would be seeing children in Kosovo crowded into trains, separated from families,
separated from their homes, robbed of their childhoods, their memories, their humanity. Indeed, the
events in Kosovo created an effective environment that Wiesel could use to tell the audience about
some of his experiences during the Holocaust and to communicate why humanity must fight against
the evil of indifference. Wiesel knows about that evil firsthand. How could he not with his experiences
in the Holocaust? This experience is a large factor in his relationship with the issue, and he references
it subtly several times, as he frequently uses the words we and us when talking about those who have
experienced the worst effects of indifference. The reason he felt such a need to communicate why
humanity should despise indifference is, in fact, because it so directly affected him. The

discussion regarding the major trends and major players in the industry. Second, some insight will be
provided on the merging companies, Activision and Blizzard. Third, the potential value of the merger
will be explored, along with some analysis of the partnership. Lastly, I will give my personal views of
the merger itself.

Activision Pre merger: Activision was a leading developer and publisher of video game software for
consoles. Its top titles include Guitar Hero, Tony Hawk, and Call of Duty, all of which have multiple
games in their series. The company itself was moderately vertically integrated, with ownership of
some development, publishing, and distribution activities. Its strengths lie in its growth strategies;
partnerships allowed the firm to exclusive rights to certain brands. Other strengths include leading
game titles for multiple platforms, hit sequels that are less capital intensive to develop, a stringent
green light process for quality control, ability for online game play, and divisions in over a dozen
countries. Weaknesses include lack of existence in foreign markets, lack of PC software development
techniques, and the fact that licensed content is vulnerable to competition. The opportunities available
are sequels to already established titles, growth in industry, and future partnerships based on their
good reputation with previous alliances. Threats include competition from other software developers
like THQ and Take Two, the cyclical nature of releases, and the reliance on game consoles for use of
software.
Blizzard Pre Merger: Strengths for the Company include top performing titles manufactured for use
on computers, reoccurring revenues based on subscriptions, and a presence in the hard to penetrate
Asian market.

Dystopian Future Research Paper
Dystopian future, teaches life lessons not just violence Dystopian future novels and films are the new
craze, however it is not all violence and war, but valuable life lessons for young adults. That s right,
The Maze Runner, Hunger Games, and Divergent, all have two things in common, they are young
adult dystopian novels and film series, but they also help teach us important characteristics vital to
contemporary society. Dystopian future allows young adults to learn a variety of life lessons through
exploring, different qualities of a human being, namely courage, trust and persistence. Courage is an
essential feature as it provides confidence, and is regarded as socially admirable personality trait,

This persistence shown by Thomas is key to his character, and it teaches young adults to never say
never, giving them a sense of hope and determination. Furthermore, persistence is shown within the
popular young adult novel and film, The Hunger Games, by Suzanne Collins. Katniss Everdeen, the
main character, was forced to engage in a tournament against other children, which involved a fight to
the death. Katniss displayed persistence throughout the trilogy, using her hatred of the game and the
thought of her family to fuel her tenacity and determination. This drive helped her survive deadly
encounters within the games, which helped her win. Often understated when considering the
popularity of dystopian novels, is one widest regarded novels of the 20th century, 1984, by George
Orwell. An extremely informative novel, giving people hope that things are not always as bad as they
seem to be. Furthermore, it teaches us to be persistent, guiding readers to always stand up for what

Caught In The Crossfire Sociology
1. I can say it is a huge difference between being victimized by someone known to the victim vs. a
stranger. If it is you are victimized by an individual you personally know, it is possible that you might
come in contact with that individual again and you might question yourself with the intent of the
abuse. You may conceptualize why would they subject you to that type of abuse or what did you do to
deserve the physical abuse. In addition, it might be somewhat challenging to report the individual for
the reason that you may perhaps consider that an individual is a decent person after all. The victim
will retract or just not report the abuse so they will begin to feel sympathetic for the individual as to
make excuses for them by stating they ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, if the judge would look at the wishes of an ex wife or daughter, it would also cause someone
to leave the room unhappy if it comes to worst (Ng, 2013). People would question the judge ruling, if
the judge would give a suspect slap on the wrist, or maximum sentencing for a lesser crime, because
of the emotional feelings of others.
3.3 A judge should never take into consideration of the victim or family member requests to give a
harsher or lesser sentencing. As I said before the sentencing of a suspect shouldn t be just based off of
granting a request. If the judge were to consider the family s request, though, the fact that it was
Vincent s ex wife and not his current wife would have made a difference because she could have bad
feelings for him (Ng, 2013).
4. I believe that it had detrimental effects on the offender s family. First of all, the case was all over the
media showing the offender in a negative way, which could cause a lot of stress for the family
members. Everyone felt remorseful for the victim so it could be a tough time for the offender s family.
You can tell that it was a tough time because Matthew Cordle made a video expressing how sorry he
was and how he wished he never killed their family member (Ng,

European Collectors Of The 16th And 17th Centuries
European Collectors of the 16th and 17th Centuries:
Perhaps two of the most noteworthy art collections in the 1500 s were the collections of the Medici,
well know patrons of the arts and of many well known artists; also the Habsburgs of Austria Known
then as the Holy Roman emperors who were known for having an eclectic collection ranging from
scientific tools and exotic stuffed animals to religious artefacts and Paintings. Then in the seventeenth
century in Britain another famous collector comes forth, Charles I who had a taste for art that showed
the divine right of kings and had a love for Rubens and Van Dyke s painting style. I have selected
these Rulers due to the fact that they were not only collectors but were also patrons of artworks which
shows a complete devotion to art, not in just admiring art from the past which had become noteworthy
through the popularity of the artist; but because the encouraged contemporary artists, and as such had
a lasting impact on art despite them not being directly behind the works.
The Medici family were the rulers of Florence during the Renaissance due to their influence in
banking. They were well known for their patronage to artists, some famous artist being Donatello,
Michelangelo, Raphael and Leonardo da Vinci. The vast commissions of artworks started out as being
for atonement for the sin of usury, however as the Renaissance moved on and art started to reflect the
change in attitude towards subject matter; going from the focus

Review Of Beethoven Symphony No. 9
Ludwig van Beethoven once said, Music, in truth, is the mediator between intellectual and sensual life
. Though he and his music were from an entirely different era, both still have relevance in our lives
today. Music from the past is all around us on the radio, in commercials, and on the big screen. For
example, one of Beethoven s most famous symphonies, Symphony No. 9 , makes an appearance in
many movies. It even makes an appearance in Die Hard. Though we like to think that which is old is
obsolete, we are everyday reminded that this is not true. Symphony No. 9 , better known as Ode to Joy
, was written by Beethoven in the years 1822 to 1824. The performing forces in this piece are an
orchestra, four vocalists, and a chorus. The genre of the piece is symphony. The piece is comprised of
four movements. The first movement is in Allegro form. While the second movement is in Scherzo
form. The third movement is in Adagio form. Finally, the fourth and final movement is in Recitative
form. The key for Beethoven s ninth symphony is D minor. The tempo changes frequently throughout
Beethoven s symphony, Ode to Joy . In the first movement the tempo is allegro. During the second,
the tempo is molto vivace. In the third movement the tempo is adagio molto e cantabile. Then, in the
fourth and final movement the tempo changes a couple of times. The tempos that appear in the fourth
movement are presto; allegro molto assai (Alla marcia); andante maestoso; allegro energico,

Paganism Vs Vegetarianism
Imagine if the apocalypse happened and the only viable food was the family dog, would it be immoral
to eat the dog to survive? What if instead of a dog, it was the family s pig? The majority of American
people would believe it s more morally justified to eat the pig than the dog which reduces the pig to a
mere piece of bacon. The United States is a profit driven country which is reflected by their
mistreatment of farm animals and can be seen by its peoples anthropocentric and hypocritical views.
The Animal Welfare Act is the only Federal law that manages animal treatment in the means of
transport, research, and by dealers (USDA). Although this law conveys the impression that all animals

This comes to show that the support for veganism and vegetarianism is an ecological, ethical, or
health concern issue, Nearly all plant eaters have fermenting vats (enlarged chambers where foods sits
and microbes attack it). Ruminants like cattle and deer have forward sacs derived from remodeled
esophagus and stomach. Horses, rhinos, and colobine monkeys have posterior, hindgut sacs. Humans
have no such specializations.. The short canines in humans are a functional consequence of the
enlarged cranium and associated reduction of the size of the jaws. In archeological sites, broken
human molars are most often confused with broken premolars and molars of pigs, a classic omnivore
(VRG). Although there is evidence to back up humans being omnivores, is it morally justified for
humans to eat meat when survival is not a threat? If one s morals say no, there s many diets that exist
that don t include animals. A vegan diet consists of not consuming any animal products. Humans
choose this diet for many reasons, but one of the main reasons is to cut down on animal cruelty.
Jonathan Safran Foer talks about the morality of harming animals for food in his book Eating Animals,
What our babysitter said made sense to me, not only because it seemed true, but because it was the
extension to food of everything my parents had taught me. We don t hurt family members. We don t
hurt friends or strangers. We don t even hurt upholstered furniture. My not having thought to include
animals in that list didn t make them the exceptions to it. It just made me a child, ignorant of the world
s workings (Foer). This portrays how humans have a hierarchy of what is acceptable and what is not.
One s treatment of animals comes from this cultural hierarchy. In different cultures, the hierarchy will
shift, for example, within parts of the Jewish religion and culture

Examples Of Realism In Red Kayak
Do you know what makes a story realistic fiction? Red Kayak is a book about a kid that witnesses a
kayak accident... but was it an accident? Realistic fiction is a story that has events, people, or dialogue
that could be real. Red Kayak has many examples of realistic fiction like credible events and authentic
characters. One reason Red Kayak is a good example or realistic fiction is because it has realistic
settings. Realistic settings is a part of realistic fiction. On page 5 it says, It s a pretty river, the Corsica.
This is an example of realistic settings because the Corsica is a real river. When Brady talks about the
Corsica river, he is talking about a real setting. Another reason Red Kayak is a good example of
realistic fiction is

Thanksgiving Conflict Essay
With six people living in a small house conflicts do arise. Things like who is using all the hot water,
eating the last of the leftovers, and fighting for a spot to sit in front of the television. The one conflict
that seems to stand out the most was an argument over sugared cereal. Earlier that day Grandma was
up from Oregon and she left the house a box of Frosted Flakes. The box of cereal that my grandma
gave us wasn t even full, but I called at least one bowl. My older sister Danielle was bent on getting
some cereal, and sure enough, she ate the rest of the box. She was on her third bowl and my siblings
came up and called her out for it and it morphed into an aggressive and tense argument. While they
were arguing I looked into the bowl and there were a bunch of tiny black ants floating in her cereal
bowl. They were helplessly drowning in a bowl of sugar and milk. Danielle freaked out, and that was
that. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

justified in her mind, she munched down three bowls of cereal, unknowingly with ants. Maybe my
story is closer to the truth, maybe hers is, maybe both of the stories are just garbage skewed by time
and apathy. Either way this was not a meaningful life experience, but I could not think of a truly life
changing experience that would make sense in a college

The Business Model ( Bm ) Essay
RQ1. The business model (BM) delineates the logic of how an organization creates, acquires, and
delivers value and facilitates the organization s strategy implementation through the organizational
structures, processes, and systems (Osterwalder Pigneur, 2010). The BM seeks to establish and
maintain a relationship with a targeted demographic through the provision of benefits that solve a
problem or meets a need. This value proposition is available through key resources, activities, and
partnerships in respect to the cost structure and is delivered to the customer through channels; the
value proposition returns to the organization in the form of revenue stream. The BM is an aggregation
of components that align to support the organization s philosophy of how it plans to prosper. Customer
segments identify the customer that the organization desires to reach and serve. Customer
relationships are defined by the type of relationship the organization establishes with the customer
segment. Value propositions specify the benefits (products and services) that an organization can
provide a customer to meet a need or solve a problem. Key resources are the assets that enable the
organization to offer value, reach the market, maintain relationships, and earn revenue. Key activities
detail the actions the organization must perform to operate successfully. Key partnerships are business
alliances that optimize the strategy and provide resources. Cost structure defines the expenses

Saturn Devouring His Son Essay
Saturn Devouring His Son is a 146 by 83 centimeter oil painting by the Spanish artist Francisco de
Goya y Lucientes. The painting was made between the years of 1819 to 1823 as a part of his series
entitled The Black Paintings .
Goya was a romantic painter and printmaker who was born in 1746 in Fuendetodos, Spain, on the 30th
of March. His parents were Jose Benito de Goya y Franque and Gracia de Lucientes y Salvador.
Lucientes s artistic style and the mysterious themes of his vivid masterpieces leave modern artists in
awe. The character and personality of Goya can be vividly seen through his astounding artwork. He is
known by many modern artists to be one of the very last master painters of his time.
His piece, Saturn Devouring His Son , refers to Saturn, a mythological god of Ancient Rome. Saturn
was thought by most to be the god of wealth, agriculture, and dissolution, among other things. In later
developments, Saturn became thought to also have domain over time. He was thought to be in his
reign during the Golden Age, which was a time of great economic success in Rome, when the people
did not have to work. In Roman mythology, Saturn had children and grew to fear a prophecy that
stated one of his sons would grow to be powerful enough to overthrow him, as he did with his own
father, Caelus. Hence, he ate ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Digestive Tract ( Gi )
The abundance of our body s ability to carry out the functions required to sustain itself, relies heavily
on our diets. And not diet in terms of a fad you might read about in a health magazine, but rather in
terms of the food we consume for the nutrient contents it contains. This is also referred to as a food s
nutrient density. In addition to the food choices we make, a vital system in our bodies is composed of
several organs that work together to chew, swallow, breakdown, absorb, and expel what was once
lunch, into usable energy for every day tasks (Yale, Kathleen). This system is known as our digestive
tract, or our gastrointestinal tract (GI). Of the many important organs that make up the GI tract, our

(Image from: Associate Degree Nursing Physiology Review.)
Basic anatomy describes two classes of tissues that make up our bodies: epithelial tissues, a thin tissue
forming the outside lining of the body s surface, and connective tissues, tissues that support, bind, and
separate other tissues or organs deep to the epithelium. Believe it or not, your digestive tract is lined
with epithelial cells, supporting the notion that we are theoretically hollow and open to the outside
world, almost like a donut. Epithelial cells, while simplistic in nature, carry out various complex
functions, but of the most important is their ability to secrete mucous and absorb nutrients. In the
stomach, these functions are vital in not only the secretion of HCl, but also protecting us from the HCl
itself. Lining the stomach is an epithelial mucosa layer known as the secretory sheet, which produces a
carpet of mucus that covers the interior surface of the stomach. This alkaline mucous layer protects
epithelial cells against the acid and enzymes in the gastric lumen. (Martini, Nath, Batholomew. p. 881)
Two major cells that play a key role in the breakdown of nutrients live in gastric pits of the rugae, they
are parietal and chief cells. Chief cells promote enzymatic breakdown of nutrients, while parietals
cells play a major role in the secretion of HCl.
The parietal cell itself

Once the plug has been located, find the right size socket or wrench to fit it, and be careful not to round of the head of the drain plug when you are removing it. Then let the oil drain in to your container. When the pan has drained replace the plug, but do not over tighten it because you can strip the treads out of pan. Over the past few decades it has become clear that this dependence has been having disastrous effects on the environment, our health, our economy, and our future. Not only that, but fossil fuels are a finite supply and once they are depleted, there is no getting more. If we are to continue to thrive as a society, it is imperative that we reduce our dependence on non renewable fossil fuels, and move towards renewable energy sources such as electricity, biofuels, and hydrogen. Fossil fuels have been used to power our vehicles since the invention of the car in the late 19th century. And with more people driving cars over the years, the total consumption of oil has increased dramatically. According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA), the United States used 8.8 million barrels of gasoline (368 million gallons) a day for transportation in 2014 (Energy Information Administration). This is an alarming rate, considering the world only has so much oil. The EIA has predicted that the world has enough oil to carry the industries that rely on it through 2040 (Energy Information Administration). Alex s goal was all about making money. It was not about productivity. When Alex was explaining what his goals were, his answers were all related to the numbers. • 14. Social Penetration Theory Believes Relationships Can Progress Social penetration theory believes relationships can progress from platonic to intimate through increasing self disclosure (West Turner, 2010, pp. 168 169). During the initial stages of a relationship, self disclosure needs to be reciprocated, in order for trust to form (Wright, 2017). Any relationship can evolve by using social penetration theory; it is not specific to any one type of relationship. However, talking about sensitive topics is not easy, and can lead to a person feeling vulnerable. Consequently, it is imperative, during the initial stages of a relationship, that self disclosure is reciprocated, in order to form trust (West Turner, 2010, pp. 168 169 Wright, 2017). However, social penetration is exemplified when we talked about sensitive topics. Social penetration is supported more by my unfamiliar subject, or my coworker, but social exchange is also exemplified when we shared similar characteristics. Social exchange theory rates interactions as either a positive or negative. Many of my interactions between my roommate was more negative than positive. Believe it or not, your digestive tract is lined with epithelial cells, supporting the notion that we are theoretically hollow and open to the outside world, almost like a donut. Epithelial cells, while simplistic in nature, carry out various complex functions, but of the most important is their ability to secrete mucous and absorb nutrients. In the stomach, these functions are vital in not only the secretion of HCl, but also protecting us from the HCl itself. Lining the stomach is an epithelial mucosa layer known as the secretory sheet, which produces a carpet of mucus that covers the interior surface of the stomach.
