Summary Of Three Sovereigns For Sarah
The movie Three Sovereigns for Sarah is about a terrified town that is struck by the devils witchcraft
and takes extraordinarily inhuman actions to rid themselves of the bad fortune. The story is told by an
old woman who was accused of being a witch, but luckily lives long enough to confront her accusers.
Three Sovereigns for Sarah has many contributing factors as to why witchcraft was believed and used
as a genuine reason to murder citizens of the thirteen colonies such factors that lead to these absurd
and ridiculous decisions and actions are likely to be based off the early sexist concepts of gender roles
that took place in the colonies, the strong pull to uniform religious beliefs, and a superstition that
terrified people into an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The religious beliefs of these days and ages were extremely strict, controlling, and very similar. The
priest in this movie was very influential, he was the sole reason for the belief in the witchcraft that
took over this town. Few males in charge made the decision to hang the Salem witches, but essentially
the priest made the overall decision. He fed stories to the other females and males about their
witchcraft and how the devils work had been done. It is believed that the priest did this so he could
control the land and money that was possessed by the women he wrongfully accused and murdered.
The early Colonists practiced Puritan religion. This religion consisted of believing that God had
formed an agreement with the Colonists. They claimed that they were higher than all others and God
made that known to them. They claimed that God wanted them to set a better example for all the
British people who were going to be damned to hell for all the sins and filth they had done. This
prompted the Colonists to live a very disciplined, unsatisfactory, and dull life.
A definite theory on why the Salem Witchcraft was so strongly believed involved how powerful
gender roles were. Although it is claimed in the Puritan ways that women were to be treated with
kindness and consideration, they were to be seen very little and never heard. Wives and

Persuasive Techniques Used in Poetry Essay
Persuasive Techniques Used in Poetry
Compare the persuasive techniques used in the poems. Say which poems you feel are the most
effective and Why?
Persuading poets have been writing poems on love, lust and nature since the beginning of time. The 7
poems that are analysed here range from the 16th 19th centuries.
These poems are all written by men arguing and persuading the effects of love.
In To virgins , it appears that Robert Herrick uses small amounts of natural imagery to persuade
virgins and to stress the fast passing of time. He begins with a time threatening statement urging the
virgins to
gather ye rosebuds while ye may he then adds
This same flower that smiled today tomorrow will be dying .

He ends the fourth stanza with a negative mood by using you may forever tarry .
This phrase means that for the rest of your life you will suffer with loneliness if you don t follow his
commands.
Herrick s poem is in an ordered structure and has an alternate rhyming rhythm that makes the poem
more commanding. The lack of imagery in this poem gives it a more uneasy and blunt mood. The pace
of the rhythm in this poem is quick which links in with the expressing of fast time and adds to the
effect of a threatening poem.
This poem suggests to me that maybe he is desperate so he uses the persuasion accordingly.
This poem compares well to Of Beauty by Richard Fanshawe because both of the poems are in an
ordering mood and have a positive and negative part of the stanza s.
It also compares well to To his coy mistress by Andrew Marvell. Both of the poems are arguing that
time is running out so let me love you now while we have the time. They both use a lot of time
statements such as long loves day , nearer he s to setting and ten years before . The second poem, Of
Beauty by Richard Fanshawe, is a short, one stanza poem. It uses personification during the middle of
the stanza.
Earth her winter coat may cast, and renew her beauty past .
These uses of personification are to state that winter is a person and her beauty runs out so and so will
yours.
Earth her winter coat may cast .
The imagery that is used in Of Beauty is

The Confession By Leo Tolstoy
Leo Tolstoy The Confession Many people find themselves in a mid life crisis when they reflect on
what is the real meaning of human life. Leo Tolstoy wrote his literal interpretation of God s teachings.
Towards his golden years, the writer rejected privileges and wealth and became a wandering ascetic.
At the height of his career, he encountered a midlife crisis which revolutionized his views towards life.
Tolstoy said that he considered ending his life since he no longer understood the meaning of it. He
wrote a publication in 1882 concerning his crisis in a short piece called A Confession, and published it
in 1884. The renowned writer was one of the critical thinkers to raise a question concerning the true
meaning of what is life before by any writer have done so. Science cannot help one in understanding
the genuine meaning of life. Having faith and trusting in God is the only thing that can enable humans
to escape the spector of meaninglessness. Faith in afterlife and God of theism establishes ground that
justice will ultimately be served. Having belief in God develops the assertion that all things happening
in ones life, good or bad happen for a reason. If one person be good, good things will happen to you,
and if one person be bad, bad things will happen to you. People who believe or have faith in God are
certain that judgement day will come and every person will receive the judgement he or she derserves.
Although it appears fairness will not be attained now,

Oral communication is the process in which information or messages are exchanged among
individuals or groups using voice as the medium. It is one of the most common and frequently used
forms of communication because it can be used in many daily situations and activities. Oral
communication can be either formal or informal. Examples of informal oral communication include ...

It is also not a form of communication that can be used as a form of documentary evidence. In some
situations, even strong verbal skills can not substitute for putting things in writing. For example,
important information that needs to be documented using writing and some type of written record is
required in the business world.
Effective oral communication follows some basic principles in order to make sure that the message is
conveyed across properly. It is important to ensure that the words are pronounced clearly and are
delivered in the correct pace, pitch and tone. It is recommended to ensure the message contains clear,
brief and accurate information, but not complicated sentences and jargons. Information and idea in the
message should be organized in a sequential and attractive way so that the audience can understand
the message easily. It is also important to establish an eye contact and to modulate body language
based on the message. For example, a strict order can be conveyed better when communicated with a
formal and stern body language as opposed to a casual and friendly one.
Conflict Management
Conflict management is the practice of being able to identify and handle conflicts sensibly, fairly,
reasonably and efficiently. It is important that there are people who understand conflicts and know
how to resolve them because conflicts happen naturally in any business and workplace. Conflict

Logical Fallacies In The Media
All of the media address the subject of logical fallacies they define them, give examples of their most
common forms, and offer tips to avoid them as well as to identify them in our writing. A good
argument is one that contains good premises that effectively back up a conclusion. All points must be
presented in a logical way and must apply to reason. However, often arguments can contain fallacies
and be weak. Logical fallacies are flaws that diminish the validity and relevance of an argument. They
constitute weak reasoning . Some of the most common forms of logical fallacies are: making
unfounded generalizations or basing an argument on stereotypes, assuming that correlation is the same
thing as causation, presenting a premise in an argument

Bob Dylan s The Sixties Counterculture
To understand the sixties counterculture, we must understand the important role of Bob Dylan. His
lyrics fueled the rebellious youth in America. Songs such as Blowin in the Wind and The Times are A
Changin made him favorable to anti war demonstrators and supporters of the Civil Rights movement.
He was commonly hailed as the spokesman for his generation. Dylan used lyrics to allow the youth to
find their own form of counter culture. The youth generation began to see the effects racism, war, etc.
effect the society in America. To combat this, the youth created their own form of counter culture to
promote a peaceful change within society. Some of their actions include forming anti war protests that
opposed America s involvement in the Vietnam War, and supporting African Americans/women get
the rights they deserve through the Civil Rights Movement. Bob Dylan s music appealed to the young
generation because he openly expresses his disapproval of the establishment in order to influenced his
audience to move in a direction for change. Counterculture youth rejected cultural norms of the
previous generation and their values and lifestyles opposed the mainstream culture present in the 1950
s. The folk music revival of the early 1960s, as well as the counter culture movement played an
important role in advocating change. Bob Dylan wrote songs that influenced the Civil Rights
Movement, New Left Movement, and Anti War Movement.

How To End Racism In America
Together racism disappears
We Americans should know by now what racism means from the news or from watching how colored
skin people get bullied more than white people. Did you know that in 1870, 4.8 million African
Americans lived in the United States and in 2007, there were 40.7 million African Americans that
lived in the United States. In this essay, I will be explaining the events that happen due to racism and
how we can stop racism. Three actions we can take to end the violence are to stop black churches
getting burned down, making all races equal, and stopping racist comments.
In this paragraph, you will learn about one important event that happened in the south and that has
affected black America . Six black churches were burned down in the south in just a ten day time
period. People think that the group of people burning the churches down is a supremacist group called
the KKK. A supremacist group is a group where white people think that they are better than all of the
other races usually towards black people. Since the six black churches got burned down in the south,
people are starting to think that whoever is targeting the churches are targeting black churchgoers. But
why would white supremacist group(s) be targeting black churchgoers when they could be targeting
black people in the government? ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When Martin Luther King Jr. was in the Birmingham jail, he wrote a very long letter basically saying

Unit 11 Assignment 2 Cardiovascular And Transport Systems
Unit 11 Assignment 2: Cardiovascular and Respiratory Systems M2. Explain the need for a transport
system in a multi cellular organism There are two types of cellular organisms: Unicellular organism
Multi cellular organism Unicellular Organism A unicellular organism is a single celled organism (one
cell), which is to rely on the process of diffusion, when moving different substances in and out of
other cells, due to its structure it has a larger surface area in comparison to its volume; this is because
each organism is built for a specific function. However, they transport materials such as oxygen and
urea in and out of bodies, through diffusion and osmosis. Multi cellular Organism A multi cellular is
consists of more than one cell, it has a small surface area, compared to its volume. This means that its
structure is specialised to do more than one function, especially exchanging surfaces, such as lungs,
and transporting systems. Its transportation system requires food and oxygen to be transported from
one place to another. Why do we need a transport system? The reason for having a transport system is
because the single celled organisms, also known as unicellular organism are small, meaning that they
have a large surface area, in comparison to their volume; a large surface area to volume ratio. As they
are known for having one cell, the substances diffuse through their relatively large plasma membrane.
This also means that they are able to diffuse

Forgiveness And The Future
Forgiving is often a conscious decision to let go of the pain, anger and bitterness arising from hurtful
situations, then move on and live our lives the best we can despite the past. Forgiveness can take time
and it can be difficult, but it s essential for boosting happiness, mental and physical health.
Forgiveness is a funny thing; it warms the heart and cools the sting. William Arthur Ward Forgiveness

The nature gives seasons. From morning to night, as from cradle to the grave, is but a succession of
changes so gentle and easy that we can scarcely mark their progress. The process of change and
challenge is always at work. For some change brings cheer, whereas for others it may mean moments
of chagrin. Both painful and pleasant, a shift from the established order to a new one is inevitable.
There is no monotony.
The breakup of joint family system in India is a case for study and a standing example of change that
has overtaken us so fast. The emergence of nuclear family is a telling tribute to the process of change
over which we have no control whatsoever. That the Indian society is at the crossroads is not a matter
of fiction, but a vigorous reality.
The glamour and glitter that we see around is the result of consistent and conscious efforts that have
gone into the making of changing patterns of society everywhere under the sun. Change is not made
without inconvenience, even from worse to better. Richard Hooker.

Hamlet s Descent Back Into Madness In Hamlet
William Shakespeare s Hamlet is a complex text that details the failing mental status of a young
prince. Hamlet s antic disposition is all part of a diluted plot to exact revenge of Claudius and shifts in
severity based on the characters Hamlet is surrounded by. The clinical definition of insanity explains
that the person suffering cannot distinguish between fantasy and reality. Given the fact Hamlet
manipulated his illness he cannot be ruled insane as he was mentally aware of his reality and used his
insanity to get ahead. Therefore Hamlet was not insane but instead faking his illness to warp others
views of himself.
In Act One of the play, Hamlet learns of his father s murder and at this point he decides to become

Forty thousand brothers Could not with all their quantity of love Make up my sum. What wilt thou do

descent back into madness was done in order to ensure his revenge plot be carried out. However, he
does not remain mad the rest of the final act when Hamlet states, Hamlet: Give me your pardon, sir. I
have done you wrong; But pardon t, as you are a gentleman, he is signifying the end of his feigned
madness and looking to start anew (V.ii.3863 3864). Hamlet s growth throughout the play is
overlooked as in the beginning of the play he was a broken prince on the edge of a cliff but as the play
progresses he gains the confidence and is able to face others without the guise of madness but instead
as himself. However, Hamlet s confidence is short lived as he dies along with most of the main
characters via poison.
Hamlet was a tragedy that highlighted the trials and tribulations of nobility and the treachery of power.
The play showcased an unstable Prince seeking revenge using his insanity as a weapon. Hamlet was
never actually mad but instead acting, using his insanity in his favor and manipulating everybody he
came across. Hamlet was a chess player but instead of moving game pieces he moved people into the
correct position so that he would be poised to take the king. Insanity is to Hamlet as the Piano is to

Compare And Contrast The Hegelian Analysis Of Libido Vs...
The Hegelian understanding of the master slave dialectic tells us that when two beings that have not
yet achieved self consciousness come in contact with one another, they engage in a conflict to try to
identify self consciousness, and the only way to do that is to realize self consciousness through
comparison with the other person. This conflict between two people leads to a struggle to the death
where one person values life over liberty, and the other values liberty over life, and whoever values
life over liberty thus concedes and is identified as the slave, making the other the master. What this
paper aims to analyze is how we can use the Hegelian master slave dialectic to understand or contrast
the Freudian analysis of libido versus the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
First, we can associate the master who is extensively discussed by Hegel to the superego theory
discussed by Freud. By doing so, we are giving the superego part of the mind which is in other words
the conscious part of the brain the role of a master. Besides, the master in Hegel s assertions is
considered to have the full consciousness after defeating the other being in the struggle. Similarly, the
slave will be associated to ego and Id; despite the slave playing a pivotal role in the struggle for
freedom just like the ego and id struggles to have full control of the mind, he or she loses the battle to
the master who in turn ends up controlling him. This is explicitly what happens to the Id and the ego;
they are unable to control the mind due their unconsciousness, but the conscious part superego
overrides them. Thus, the idea of the slave and the master closely intertwines to the concept of
psychoanalysis as explained by Freud Sigmund. In other words, Freud seemingly confirms that those
who are strong and aware of what they are doing in life, will have full control of the weak and those
who cannot distinguish between what is wrong and what is right. Conclusively, this discussion has
established that several theories are used to explain human existence. This is evident from the Freud
interpretation about what parts of the mind dominate others

China s Transition Economy Essay examples
China s transition from a planned economy to a market economy began at the end of 1978. When
China started the process, the government did not have a well designed blueprint , and so the approach
to reform can be characterized as experimental. The process of reform has been gradual and
incremental in nature and is still incomplete. In fact, China can t be treated as a full market economy
nor can it be treated as a centrally planned economy in which the Government substantially influences
prices of goods or monopolises international trade. It is somewhere in between.
Reform measures:
1) The introduction of enterprise taxation.
2) The new wage system which linked with the productivity of workers (this would give workers

Trade was monopolised by centrally controlled Foreign Trade Corporations, under the control of the
central Government ministries. Other trade was not permitted.
Also, exports had state controlled prices set by the Foreign Trade Corporations under the foreign trade
plan. Similarly, imports were sold to domestic firms and consumers at state controlled prices.
Fortunately, the trade regime has been significantly liberalised. China s Open Door policy has
dramatically reversed the self sufficient position of pre 1978, welcoming foreign investment and trade.
Increasingly, China s imports and exports are being determined by market forces. The ratio of imports
and exports to Gross Domestic Product is 42:100 and China is now the 10th largest trading nation.
Formal trade planning has been abolished, but a number of central foreign trade corporations and large
state owned enterprises have been given selective monopoly powers to export and import strategic
commodities (important resources that China had to ensure a steady supply of). This process has been
termed as canalisation by the World Bank (1994).

Analysis of The Wrong Trousers

Created by Nick Park (a famous Animator) in 1993, The Wrong Trousers stars Wallace and Gromit in

Also I think that comedy can be found due to the naïveté of Wallace, for example his shock when he

cultural or ethnical groups. This means that both adults and children can enjoy The Wrong Trousers as
they can all take in something different from the film.
It is said that mans best friend is his Dog, and that leads me to a greatly influential character in the
Wallace and Gromit series, this of course being Gromit, the dog. I believe that his personification has

Human qualities (such as the ability to read), his lack of a voice means that we do not recognise him

In Response to Alex Gibney s Going Clear HBO hired 160 precautionary lawyers prior to the

tightly kept secrets and beliefs of the Church of Scientology. Undeniably controversial, perhaps what
Going Clear does best is gather testimonies of ex church members and officials that give the viewer an

attempts to explain the roots and core beliefs of the church, placing strong emphasis on the peculiar
life of it s founder L. Ron Hubbard. With the copious amount of shocking information made public by

effectively evaluate Scientology and it s inclusion on the world stage, one must first look back to the

Roles Of Mothers In Nazi Germany
Mothers and Their Roles in Nazi Germany
I am here today to discuss how gender played a critical role in the construction of the Nazi State, prior
to 1938. Specifically, I would like to focus my analysis on how and why the Nazis constructed a
conception of motherhood that defined the mother in relation to the state. For our purposes today, we
will examine two ideal German mothers and explore their similarities in order to understand how and
why the Nazis perceived mothers as public agents of the Volksgemeinschaft, or German community of
people. Primary documents will allow us to examine first hand experiences of mothers written within
the context of Nazi Germany.
But first, on must begin by understanding ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Mothers were supposed to demonstrate an absence of self identity and an abundance of devotion to
children. Hitler, in his speech to the National Socialist Women s Section (NSF), intertwined the thems
of nationalism and self sacrifice into one sentence. Hitler comments, What a man gives in courage on
the battlefield, the woman gives in eternal self sacrifice, in eternal pain and suffering (HCC 278).
Hitler makes motherhood into a nationalistic function by likening the mother to a soldier or an agent
of the state, while simultaneously emphasizing the self sacrifice necessary to be an ideal German
mother.
Having explored how the Nazis construct their definition of motherhood, let s begin our examination
of two ideal German mothers by using our primary documents. It is important for you to know that
they were both ordinary mothers, living under the Nazi regime prior to 1938. Please pay careful
attention to the similarities presented between these two mothers and also, their likeness to the Nazi
conception of motherhood.

The Effects Of The Child Beauty Pageant
The Negative Effects of the Child Beauty Pageant

Abstract
This paper will explore the negative effects that a beauty pageant has on a child. While many people
think that these pageants are an overall good experience for any child this paper contains and explores
research paper that will outline the negative effects these pageants have on the children in them, some
of them being long term effects. Some of these effects include mental anguish that is formed from
children being in these contests and the effects the pageants have on a family as a whole. Together
these findings show that perhaps these beauty pageants should not be something that a child should
participate in, or be forced into participating in. Keywords: children, beauty pageants, negative, effects
The first beauty pageant geared towards children was the Little Miss America Pageant which took
place in the 1960 s in New Jersey. Originally participation in these pageants was intended to be for

Literary Analysis Of Randall Jarrell
Almost as important as the content, is the form an author chooses to express their stories. From poetry
to novels, writing form helps shape a reader s experience. The Death of the Ball Turret Gunner , is the
perfect example of how a poem s form reinforces its content. The author, Randall Jarrell, leaves much
to the readers imagination. Jarrell is descriptive and vague at the same time. This style is no accident
and helps convey more to the readers than the surface level of the text. Making the readers think and
question the truth behind any war and telling a story people aren t used to reading. 1
In class, we ve discussed Kate McLoughlin s ideas for how to write the best war literature. Kate
McLoughlin helped write and edit The Cambridge Companion to War Writing. In her writing,
McLoughlin discusses the difficulties of war literature, and how words can t capture the true
complexity of war. McLoughlin describes war as a massive and complex phenomenon and goes on to
say literature of any type cannot accurately capture war. This is especially true of war on a global scale
that spans years. To solve this problem, McLoughlin suggests that writing less and leaving certain
aspects to the reader s imagination can be beneficial. 2 Randall Jarrell s style seems in line with
McLoughlin s views on how to write proper war literature. This lack of detail is what made his poem,
one of the more compelling readings so far. Leaving the reader to imagine what the gunner is
experiencing

The Pros And Cons Of Hospice Nursing
Usually, the majority of aging people spend most of their time in nursing homes where they receive
specialized treatment and care that is not available in the normal home setting. What is more, the
aging individuals give each other company as they interact in serene and supportive environments that
promote their peace of mind. A person considering to pursue a profession in hospice nursing care
should be equipped with a set of skills and knowledge base, aside from having the necessary passion
that would help him/her in navigating through various hurdles. One of the most significant
disadvantages of the career is that the professionals are obliged to provide care to the terminally ill;
and therefore, it becomes sensitive to extend care aimed at providing emotional and spiritual support.
This paper explores the form and the nature of hospice nursing. Hospice care features as a risk based
and comprehensive care ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Usually, patients with AIDS, stroke, lung disease, multiple sclerosis, and liver disease are eligible for
the hospice care (Connor, 2017). Notably, the aim of this kind of care is not to pursue the complete
healing of the patient, but to offer a specialized kind of treatment reduces pain and other health
complications as the patients await to succumb to the conditions of their health. To receive Medicare
cover while under hospice care, an individual should belong to Medicare Part A (Connor, 2017). In
addition, a qualified physician must ascertain that the individual under consideration is suffering from
a terminal illness. Connor (2017) argues that for a patient to qualify for hospice care, he or she should
be in possession of a 6 months prognosis or less provided that the disease is following a normal
course. In this regard, it is apparent that in order to receive hospice care, a patient must be terminally

Rules Regulating Nutrition
I believe their should be rules regulating health and nutrition in schools. if I were a school official I
would make the rules more lenient. I would make getting a fruit or vegetable mandatory, but I would
let you choose the serving and choose only what you want to eat. there is no point in forcing food on
children it would just waste money.
I believe making it mandatory to take a fruit and vegetable a day in school lunches influences
everyday life . have you ever remembered eating something so good and you would want to eat it at
home so you go buy it from your local supermarket and purchase it. it could be the same circumstance
at school. If the school served vegetarian lasagna that day and you thought it was amazing and you

Value Chain Approach And Actor Network Theory
Why use the Value Chain Approach and Actor Network Theory (ANT)
Value chains traditionally are those farmers can easily access. To comprehend complexities involved
in value chain a qualitative approach termed value chain analysis approach was used. The approach is
descriptive and allows linkage analysis of the farmer with different actors that are part of the Ziziphus
mauritiana chain. Inter mediators or the middlemen buy Ziziphus mauritiana from rural peasants in
Muzarabani. The middlemen also sale Ziziphus mauritiana to each other. However, most of the
Ziziphus mauritiana end up in the hands of bigger traders from markets like Mbare Musika of Harare
in Zimbabwe. The value chain analysis approach used has an array of advantages. Different ... Show

The socio technical world is well explained (Langanki 2014). Especially, when local production of
spirits from Ziziphus mauritiana (kachasu) is explained. Actor Network Theory acts as an eye opener.
It gives a conceptual framework to the understanding of Ziziphus mauritiana value chain.
What about Power relation relations issue in Actor Network Theory?
Power relation are criticised to ANT approach. However in contrast ANT observed power being in
action. The linkages and Network power are recognised through ideas for undertaking perceptions
actions and opinions. Actors have voices and act as agencies. ANT emphasises use on interactive
power than the physical power. The concept of ANT is aligned to each network and provided a radical
approach to the discourse and other non human actors are treated as actors.
Actor Network Theory is used as a methodology for the study of the of the Ziziphus mauritiana value
chain. The value chain is viewed as an assemblage of networks. Being a theory and a methodological
approach ANT endeavours to develop analysis tools on focal actor, thats try to control other actors.
ANT can be used to shape the theoretical framework, hence enhancing the flexibility of the developed

Reflective Essay On Occupational Therapy
Growing up, I was close to a family that had a daughter with Rett Syndrome. I grew up watching how
different therapies, particularly hippotherapy, immensely helped her. Through the impact this girl had
on me, I have aspired to work with children who have disabilities. I have observed multiple types of
therapies and have decided that Occupational Therapy is the route that will best help me reach these
aspirations. It is my goal to help make a difference in people s lives, and in their families lives,
following graduation from an Occupational Therapy school. As an Occupational Therapist, you get to
help such a wide variety of people. One person you treat may need sensory therapy, and the next
person you treat may have a neuromuscular problem. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One semester I took a class that was about teaching children with exceptionalities. In this class, I
learned about all different types of disabilities, what it s like to have these disabilities, how to help
students cope with their disabilities, and how schools are supposed to accommodate the student. The
class was such an eye opener on how students with disabilities live and how challenging school can be
for them. In taking the prerequisite courses, I discovered a love for studying how the body works, not
only physically, but emotionally and mentally. In this upcoming semester, Spring of 2017, I am
registered to take an American Sign Language class. Learning sign language will undoubtedly be
beneficial to know when working with people who have disabilities. It will provide me with skills to
work with clients with communication issues. For instance, if I have a client who is nonverbal, I can
teach them a way to communicate with others. I am a part of a club on campus that is heavily involved
with a school in our community that serves students of all ages with developmental disabilities and
with our area s Special Olympics. I ve helped our area s regional and state Special Olympics in the
past several years.
Becoming an Occupational Therapist is a goal that I have been working hard to achieve my whole life
and know it s a field that I will be highly successful

Analysis Of Henrik Ibsen s A Doll s Hose
A writer like Henrik Ibsen tended to stir up controversy on social issues such as marriage to
demonstrate the real life experiences for two people to stay truly in love. In A Doll s Hose, Ibsen
creates an illusion of the definition of a true marriage through the eyes of Nora and Torvald Helmer,
Kristine Linde and Nils Krogstad. Ultimately, the fate of these characters personalities will unveil the
true definition of a real marriage through Nora s forgery. Nora is introduced as a housewife who
believes the true meaning of marriage revolving around obedience. She demonstrates the true
definition of a respectful daughter, a faithful and obedient wife, and a dependable mother. It wasn t
unusual for Torvald to throw his weight around towards Nora. He attempts to limit her macaroon
intake Hasn t nibbled some pastry, (Ibsen 788) she replies, You know I could never think of going
against you (Ibsen 788). In the eyes of Nora, he is considered a confident, powerful, and successful
businessman since he is receiving a promotion as a bank manager after the New Year. Torvald s sense
of marriage can be summed up that he is the king of the castle This is the way it should be my darling
Nora. What ever comes, you ll see: when it really counts, I have strength and courage enough as a man
to take the whole weight myself (Ibsen 814). Torvald s view is she is just a doll in his doll house. To
him, it was important to stress there was no such thing as equality in their partnership, he

The Discovery Of Space Weather
For my science fiction I will be writing a story through mission logs or a first person view of a captain
and his crew of astronauts who have their trajectory thrown off and now are way off track. Not only
this, but the crews new plasma thrusters have malfunctioned and the crew will be unable to get back
on track until it is repaired. The cause of their navigational errors will be an unusual solar wind that
creates a geomagnetic storm that affects the people on Earth and electrical disturbances to the people
in the spacecraft. Unsure of what to do, the crew will have to work together and hope they can get
ways to solve the issue from Earth too return home. Space Weather is exactly what it sounds like, it s
the weather of the space environments which are mainly cause by the interactions solar winds from
the sun with our Earth [1] (NOAA). Just like how the weather in the Troposphere and the
Stratosphere, which is just what people normally think of weather, affects our daily lives, space
weather has an equal potential to affect our lives. The reasoning for this is that as we become more
space reliant with the use of satellites for our phones, television and GPS, the potential for space
weather to actually have an impact on these things increase and will continue to potential cause
troubles in the future. Space weather not only affects our orbiting objects, but it can affect things on
the surface of our planet and others by affecting our power grid, which is vital for our

  • 2. Summary Of Three Sovereigns For Sarah The movie Three Sovereigns for Sarah is about a terrified town that is struck by the devils witchcraft and takes extraordinarily inhuman actions to rid themselves of the bad fortune. The story is told by an old woman who was accused of being a witch, but luckily lives long enough to confront her accusers. Three Sovereigns for Sarah has many contributing factors as to why witchcraft was believed and used as a genuine reason to murder citizens of the thirteen colonies such factors that lead to these absurd and ridiculous decisions and actions are likely to be based off the early sexist concepts of gender roles that took place in the colonies, the strong pull to uniform religious beliefs, and a superstition that terrified people into an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The religious beliefs of these days and ages were extremely strict, controlling, and very similar. The priest in this movie was very influential, he was the sole reason for the belief in the witchcraft that took over this town. Few males in charge made the decision to hang the Salem witches, but essentially the priest made the overall decision. He fed stories to the other females and males about their witchcraft and how the devils work had been done. It is believed that the priest did this so he could control the land and money that was possessed by the women he wrongfully accused and murdered. The early Colonists practiced Puritan religion. This religion consisted of believing that God had formed an agreement with the Colonists. They claimed that they were higher than all others and God made that known to them. They claimed that God wanted them to set a better example for all the British people who were going to be damned to hell for all the sins and filth they had done. This prompted the Colonists to live a very disciplined, unsatisfactory, and dull life. A definite theory on why the Salem Witchcraft was so strongly believed involved how powerful gender roles were. Although it is claimed in the Puritan ways that women were to be treated with kindness and consideration, they were to be seen very little and never heard. Wives and ... Persuading poets have been writing poems on love, lust and nature since the beginning of time. The 7 poems that are analysed here range from the 16th 19th centuries. These poems are all written by men arguing and persuading the effects of love. In To virgins , it appears that Robert Herrick uses small amounts of natural imagery to persuade virgins and to stress the fast passing of time. He begins with a time threatening statement urging the virgins to gather ye rosebuds while ye may he then adds This same flower that smiled today tomorrow will be dying . These ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He ends the fourth stanza with a negative mood by using you may forever tarry . This phrase means that for the rest of your life you will suffer with loneliness if you don t follow his commands. Herrick s poem is in an ordered structure and has an alternate rhyming rhythm that makes the poem more commanding. The lack of imagery in this poem gives it a more uneasy and blunt mood. The pace of the rhythm in this poem is quick which links in with the expressing of fast time and adds to the effect of a threatening poem. This poem suggests to me that maybe he is desperate so he uses the persuasion accordingly. This poem compares well to Of Beauty by Richard Fanshawe because both of the poems are in an ordering mood and have a positive and negative part of the stanza s. It also compares well to To his coy mistress by Andrew Marvell. Both of the poems are arguing that time is running out so let me love you now while we have the time. They both use a lot of time statements such as long loves day , nearer he s to setting and ten years before . The second poem, Of Beauty by Richard Fanshawe, is a short, one stanza poem. It uses personification during the middle of the stanza.

He wrote a publication in 1882 concerning his crisis in a short piece called A Confession, and published it in 1884. The renowned writer was one of the critical thinkers to raise a question concerning the true meaning of what is life before by any writer have done so. Science cannot help one in understanding the genuine meaning of life. Having faith and trusting in God is the only thing that can enable humans to escape the spector of meaninglessness. Faith in afterlife and God of theism establishes ground that justice will ultimately be served. If one person be good, good things will happen to you, and if one person be bad, bad things will happen to you. In this paragraph, you will learn about one important event that happened in the south and that has affected black America . Explain the need for a transport system in a multi cellular organism There are two types of cellular organisms: Unicellular organism Multi cellular organism Unicellular Organism A unicellular organism is a single celled organism (one cell), which is to rely on the process of diffusion, when moving different substances in and out of other cells, due to its structure it has a larger surface area in comparison to its volume; this is because each organism is built for a specific function. However, they transport materials such as oxygen and urea in and out of bodies, through diffusion and osmosis. Multi cellular Organism A multi cellular is consists of more than one cell, it has a small surface area, compared to its volume. This means that its structure is specialised to do more than one function, especially exchanging surfaces, such as lungs, and transporting systems. Its transportation system requires food and oxygen to be transported from one place to another. Why do we need a transport system? The reason for having a transport system is because the single celled organisms, also known as unicellular organism are small, meaning that they have a large surface area, in comparison to their volume; a large surface area to volume ratio. As they are known for having one cell, the substances diffuse through their relatively large plasma membrane. This also means that they are able to diffuse ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Hegelian understanding of the master slave dialectic tells us that when two beings that have not yet achieved self consciousness come in contact with one another, they engage in a conflict to try to identify self consciousness, and the only way to do that is to realize self consciousness through comparison with the other person. This conflict between two people leads to a struggle to the death where one person values life over liberty, and the other values liberty over life, and whoever values life over liberty thus concedes and is identified as the slave, making the other the master. What this paper aims to analyze is how we can use the Hegelian master slave dialectic to understand or contrast the Freudian analysis of libido versus the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... First, we can associate the master who is extensively discussed by Hegel to the superego theory discussed by Freud. By doing so, we are giving the superego part of the mind which is in other words the conscious part of the brain the role of a master. Besides, the master in Hegel s assertions is considered to have the full consciousness after defeating the other being in the struggle. Similarly, the slave will be associated to ego and Id; despite the slave playing a pivotal role in the struggle for freedom just like the ego and id struggles to have full control of the mind, he or she loses the battle to the master who in turn ends up controlling him. This is explicitly what happens to the Id and the ego; they are unable to control the mind due their unconsciousness, but the conscious part superego overrides them. Thus, the idea of the slave and the master closely intertwines to the concept of psychoanalysis as explained by Freud Sigmund. In other words, Freud seemingly confirms that those who are strong and aware of what they are doing in life, will have full control of the weak and those who cannot distinguish between what is wrong and what is right. Conclusively, this discussion has established that several theories are used to explain human existence. This is evident from the Freud interpretation about what parts of the mind dominate others ... The author, Randall Jarrell, leaves much to the readers imagination. Jarrell is descriptive and vague at the same time. Making the readers think and question the truth behind any war and telling a story people aren t used to reading. 1 In class, we ve discussed Kate McLoughlin s ideas for how to write the best war literature. Kate McLoughlin helped write and edit The Cambridge Companion to War Writing. In her writing, McLoughlin discusses the difficulties of war literature, and how words can t capture the true complexity of war. McLoughlin describes war as a massive and complex phenomenon and goes on to say literature of any type cannot accurately capture war. This is especially true of war on a global scale that spans years. To solve this problem, McLoughlin suggests that writing less and leaving certain aspects to the reader s imagination can be beneficial. 2 Randall Jarrell s style seems in line with McLoughlin s views on how to write proper war literature. This lack of detail is what made his poem, one of the more compelling readings so far. Leaving the reader to imagine what the gunner is experiencing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In taking the prerequisite courses, I discovered a love for studying how the body works, not only physically, but emotionally and mentally. In this upcoming semester, Spring of 2017, I am registered to take an American Sign Language class. • 36. The Discovery Of Space Weather For my science fiction I will be writing a story through mission logs or a first person view of a captain and his crew of astronauts who have their trajectory thrown off and now are way off track. Not only this, but the crews new plasma thrusters have malfunctioned and the crew will be unable to get back on track until it is repaired. The cause of their navigational errors will be an unusual solar wind that creates a geomagnetic storm that affects the people on Earth and electrical disturbances to the people in the spacecraft. Unsure of what to do, the crew will have to work together and hope they can get ways to solve the issue from Earth too return home. Space Weather is exactly what it sounds like, it s the weather of the space environments which are mainly cause by the interactions solar winds from the sun with our Earth [1] (NOAA). Just like how the weather in the Troposphere and the Stratosphere, which is just what people normally think of weather, affects our daily lives, space weather has an equal potential to affect our lives. The reasoning for this is that as we become more space reliant with the use of satellites for our phones, television and GPS, the potential for space weather to actually have an impact on these things increase and will continue to potential cause troubles in the future. Space weather not only affects our orbiting objects, but it can affect things on the surface of our planet and others by affecting our power grid, which is vital for our ...
