The Pros And Cons Of Qatar-Gulf Crisis
Surprisingly, oil traders have changed their behavior in the Q2 this year. However, professionals were
not taken by surprise. The OPEC and Saudis new investment fund have been sending signals to keep

Qatar Gulf crisis, the third one since 2000.
The atmosphere of the collaboration and mutual efforts of OPEC and its allies to reach a healthy
market till 2020 was gone with the wind from Doha. The same Doha, the Qatari capital, hosted the
OPEC meeting on April 17. Also Russians participated in the debates regarding cut off. However, this
meeting disappointed the markets, since the output deal fails by reason of the disagreement between

Tuck Northrop Leadership
Tuck Northrop should receive the Beard Award because I truly cannot think of a person who is as
caring and kind as he is and also excels in so many areas. I m a junior at Fairfield Ludlowe High
School, and though Tuck is not one of my academic teachers, he coaches me in both the fall and
spring on our high school sailing team.
Though I was only a freshman and had not experienced the team pre Tuck, everything I had heard of
the past years was only negative. But from the second Tuck arrived as our coach, the team has been on
a continuous incline to some of the best years that the Fairfield Sailing Team has experienced in its
existence. We do have a few good sailors on the team from their own past experience, but I definitely
credit Tuck s coaching ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There is not a single coach out there who cares about his sailors more than Tuck. I have been on many
teams in the past, and not one coach dedicates as much time or care into the team as Tuck does. In the
three years that he has been our coach so far, we have greatly increased our team building activities off
the water, which has ultimately made the team stronger than ever in its overall chemistry, disregarding
just our skills and knowledge of the sport. Tuck also knows each of the team members very well
individually, which allows him to pick the best team pairings and also teach us based on our individual
personalities, goals, and weaknesses. He wants each one of us to succeed more than anyone I know,
and is willing to do everything he possibly can in order to help us on our own personal paths to
success in sailing, academics, or more. I have no doubt that Tuck knows each of his students just as
well in the classroom as he does on our team, allowing him to interact with both his students and us
much more easily than other teachers. His ability to unite all of the team members enables our success
overall to have reached our current achievements and hopefully even more in the future.
While these two highlights of Tuck s personality and ideals demonstrate very well the type of person
he is, he has so many more great qualities including his generosity, ambition, and fun loving nature.

Compare And Contrast First And Second Great Awakening
The First Great Awakening spread throughout the 13 colonies as an emotional religious revival
movement from 1720s to 1740s that appeared due to the increase of secularism and rationalism
religion in which evangelist had challenged established denominations and pushed towards a more
personal relationship with God (3 + 12).The Second Great Awakening was a religious revival
movement from in the 19th century, which called for an individualized relationship between the
people and God, promoting it through Baptist and Methodist beliefs, which held a more egalitarian
attitude in the case of everyone being able to achieve salvation. The First Great Awakening and
Second Great Awakening both transformed religious ideology by introducing individualism, a belief
where men have a closer and direct relationship with God. The First and Second Great Awakenings
had a transformation in their methods of worship with a change in venue, with the First Great
Awakening having people preach to the masses on the street corners outside; while in the Second
Great Awakening, having revivals and camp meetings with people screaming and jumping, a change
from the traditional, to a wholly new method of worship.
Jonathan Edwards, a Congregationalist minister in western Massachusetts, who was shocked at the
dissipating religious spirit, believing that people were giving up to sinful pleasures. He worked against
the secularization of the Enlightenment and focus on pushing the emotional side of religion by
expressing the wonderful nature of Heaven and the horror of Hell, helping to renew intensity behind
religion. This idea of Heaven and Hell was stated in his sermon, Sinners in the Hands of an Angry
God , intended to scare people into looking for salvation, with descriptions of people being held over a
fire in Hell. This is expressive of the change of social norms in Puritan New England, where going to
the Minister s house as opposed to the Tavern was acceptable. This also shows the more individualized
ideals people had, for they were presented with the option of achieving their own salvation and take
responsibility for their lives, having the option of maintaining a personal connection with God. (ch 3

Sigmund Freud And Freud s Theory Of The Unconscious Mind...
A twenty one year old woman by the name of Anna O that was caring for her ailing father began to
experience severe debilitating physical and psychological symptoms. During this period, most
psychoses were labeled as hysteria. Anna O began to hallucinate, experience paralysis, and have an
extreme aversion to food and drink. She underwent treatment with Dr. Breuer (Oxford Journals,
2005). When Dr. Breuer treated Anna O for her hysteria and her mental and physical symptoms he
discovered that as she began to talk of hidden thought processes about her experiences during their
discussions, whether through hypnosis or while conscious, certain symptoms would disappear (Oxford
Journals, 2005). Dr. Breuer discussed Anna O s case with Sigmund Freud and Freud later perfected
this talking cure. Also known as sweeping the chimney or sweeping the mind. Sigmund Freud s theory
of the unconscious mind claimed that people experience hysteria or other reactions in response to
repressed experiences. The unconscious contains all those drives, urges, or instincts that are beyond
our awareness but that nevertheless motivate most of our words, feelings, and actions (Feist Feist,
2008). Freud and his theory are responsible for the birth of what is known today as psychoanalysis and
Freud is considered the founding father of psychoanalysis. In treating Anna O, Freud would examine
the relationship between Anna and her father and check for other possible triggers from her life that

Theme Of Occurrence At Owl Creek Bridge
A Foreshadowing Death Often times, a reader becomes shocked by the ending of a story. They never
saw the twist ending coming and it leaves them speechless. Could the reader s initial surprise have
been avoided? Most likely, yes. Authors frequently put clues into their stories and books that can help
a reader figure out the conclusion. In the story Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge , written by Ambrose
Bierce, the reader is taken on a great escape from the main character s execution. The unexpected
ending cuts the escape short by revealing Peyton Farquhar, the leading character, is actually dead and
swinging from Owl Creek Bridge. Many clues are planted within Peyton s escape that clue the reader
in to realizing the true ending. In the beginning, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
His senses are extremely clear, despite being shot only moments before. Peyton then makes an escape
into the woods. He wanders in a random direction, yet he knows it will bring him home. It remains
unrealistic to believe that Peyton could use his senses to know the direction of his home. Now that he
is no longer in immediate danger, Peyton notices his neck is swollen, eyes congested, tongue swollen,
and he seemed to not even feel the roadway beneath his feet. These statements are, in my opinion, the
most obvious sign of foreshadowing. The physical aspects of his body are similar to a freshly dead or
newly decomposing body. Also, his inability to feel a road beneath his feet is a sign that he may not
actually be standing on anything. While he travels, Peyton drifts through sleep. He wakes up to find he
has made it home. Peyton most likely did not sleep while traveling. The author is foreshadowing his
journey to death. The tale goes on to describe Peyton s journey to his new life. Upon arriving home,
he sees his wife. She stands, smiling and waiting for him. As Peyton embraces her, he feels a blow on
the back of his neck and proceeds to see a blinding white light. The twist end is finally revealed to the
reader. The feeling Peyton had as he hugged his wife was most likely the feeling of his neck breaking.
The white light represents what waits beyond. These were the final hints of foreshadowing in the

Evil In The Tell Tale Heart
The glint of the vulture eye shown through the dark night. Suddenly, it slightly opens, blinded from
the light. It can t see the being behind the light. Is it a green, slimy monster, or one of its own
kind...human? Horror is an exhilarating genre for all audiences to read. The Tell Tale Heart is about a
diseased man who murders his employer for having a paranoid eye. In the story The Tell Tale Heart ,
by Edgar Allen Poe, the three elements of horror: monster, poor choices, and advanced knowledge are
applied very well. One of the first elements of horror in The Tell Tale Heart is monster. Monster is a
creature or human, usually a character, they have a history and have developed as a character over a
period time. Most of the time, they torment other characters in the story. The narrator of The Tell Tale
Heart is the monster. In the story, the narrator explains that, In an instant I dragged him to ... Show

Poor choices is when a character does something and trouble is an expected or end result to the
situation. This element is in the story a lot, with the narrator, when killing the old man and the events
leading up to the killing. While watching the old man, the narrator described, I made up my mind to
take the life of the old man (Poe,295). The narrator is not thinking about what will happen as
consequences to this action. If the narrator had not made this decision to kill the man, this whole story
would have stopped and been boring. Lastly, the narrator stated, NOw you may think that I drew back
but no (Poe, 297). The poor choices element, is a decision and this quote says the decision he had and
how he chose not to draw back and stop there. If the narrator had stopped then, nothing in his life
would have changed, and the old man would ve never known, but now he s in jail telling this story.
Clearly, the element poor choices is developed in the story

Cosmetic Plastic Surgery Is Beyond Physical For Many Patients
Cosmetic plastic surgery is beyond physical for many patients. Notably, people will consult with a
plastic surgeon in efforts to reshape and improve the appearance of a number of things such as their
breasts, abdomen, facial features, hair, the list goes on. Ultimately, the end goal for both the patient
and the surgeon is for the recipient of the cosmetic procedure to have an improved appearance.
Granted that plastic surgery is used to improve one s appearance. self esteem is directly linked with
how one feels about their physical appearance. Therefore, undergoing plastic surgery to improve one s
appearance will help their self esteem. Communication throughout the entire surgical process is
essential. In order for both parties to be satisfied with the end results, communication should most
definitely be a priority. Plastic surgery has been used for over 4,000 years, and continues to be
improved today. India had some of the very first recorded reconstructive procedures, which included
skin grafts and nose reconstructions. In ancient India, these surgeries were used to repair those who
were injured in battle or had their nose cut off as punishment. For instance, Indian physician,
Sushruta, who wrote the encyclopedia Sanskrit, provided instructions on performing procedures such
as an earlobe or nose reconstruction using a skin graft from a cheek or forehead (DocShop, 2015).
Reconstructive surgery techniques continued to improve, many great advances in medicine were made

soil in the land has all dried up leaving behind dead weeds, grass, and failed crops. Families get
accustomed to this new reality, filled with dust everywhere, a hiding sun, deep cracks in corn field,

cloth wedged around doors and windows, but the dust came it so thinly that it could not be seen in the
air, and it settled like pollen on the chairs and tables, on the dishes (Steinbeck 5). The dust is now a

George Etienne Cartier s Legacy And Contributions
For my heritage fair I decided to research George Etienne Cartier, who if you haven t heard about was
a lawyer, rebel, politician and railway promoter whose contributions to Confederation were on the
same level as figures like John A. Macdonald and George Brown(Sweeny). If you haven t heard of
any of these people, then don t worry I ll be going into length on all of them. Furthermore, if you were
wondering why I chose this topic to research, I would truthfully tell you that the only reason I chose
George Etienne Cartier was because he was as good a topic as anything else, so personally I didn t
care about the topic. But as I put more research into the topic I came to realize just how important
George Etienne Cartier was to Canada. Not just in his efforts towards Confederation but also the work
he put into preserving French culture and identity in Canada to railway development. Of course this
isn t as exciting as many other topics, but without George Cartier s legacy and contributions we would
most likely not be where we are today. In this report I will be covering the life of George Etienne
Cartier, including his early life, background, political life before and after Confederation.

How did George Etienne Cartier grow up?
George Etienne Cartier was born on September 6th 1814 in Saint Antoine sur Richelieu to parents

Swot Analysis Of Jcpenney
Company Profile
JC Penney is an American department store chain with 1,095 locations throughout the United States.
In the latter half of the 20th century, shopping malls became very popular and most of the company s
stores were situated in the downtown areas, they followed the trend of developing more stores in the
shopping malls to attract customers and increase the financial profitability of the company.
Conversely, JC Penney had freestanding stores, and was able to get consumer traffic which helped the
company earn a profit and increase its market share.
From its inception in 1902, the company grew enormously, it added different businesses, made them
successful, and sold them to focus more on the retail aspect of the business. As an example, in 2001,
its direct marketing insurance unit was sold to Dutch Insurance for 1.3 Billion dollars.
In June of 2011, JC Penney announced that Ron Johnson was selected to be the next CEO of the
company. In his 17 months of leadership at JC Penney, the company performed very poorly. Its market
share declined, profits decreased, and the company laid off hundreds of employees and closed
numerous stores throughout the United States. Ron Johnson changed the corporate culture and his
strategies proved to be detrimental.

Dark Knight Identity
Comic books have been around since the early 1930 s and has since become a huge cultural impact,
bringing young and old audiences all sorts of great stories, and imaginative concepts. But ever since
The Dark Knight Returns made it s way onto the pages and into people s homes, the comic book scene
has never quite been the same, with stories getting darker, and more bold, featuring grotesque
moments, and more intense storylines. Then the 70s came around and everybody was talking about
mental illnesses and whether or not it s real, and a little old company called Marvel comics capitalized
on this, with a brand new character. First appearing in WereWolf by Night #32 in August of 1975,

In one run of his series, the cab driver and millionaire were replaced by hallucinations of fellow

that New York is under attack from another Egyptian god, but the reader is never sure if the thing s he

D.I.D. patients. Moon Knight s mental illness isn t an allegory for the mentally ill in general, but
rather a filter for cool seeming stories and concepts, in reaction to a new age of comics coming

Conflict Between Montagues And Capulets In Romeo And Juliet
Conflict presents itself in many different forms. Whether it be the massacre of over 800,000 people
that the Rwandan Genocide caused in a mere hundred days, or the long lasting conflict between the
Montagues and Capulets in Romeo and Juliet. Rwanda is a small landlocked country within Africa
that is about the size of Maryland (Beauchamp, 2014). The Hutu people are in the majority, making up
85 percent of the population, while Tutsis made up 14 percent of the population ( United Human
Rights Council ). In Romeo and Juliet the hostility between the Montagues and Capulets has been

After signing a peace agreement with the Rwandan Patriotic Front, a Tutsi dominated rebel group,
President Habyarimana was flying from Tanzania to Rwanda when his plane was shot down on April
6, 1994 ( Pre Genocide, Survivors Fund ). The death of their leader signaled the start of the mass
genocide of the Tutsi people that the Hutus had been planning for a number of years. The mass
genocide began a day after the assassination on April 7, 1994 and lasted until July 16, 1994
(Beauchamp, 2014). The genocide ended when the Rwandan Patriotic Front defeated the Hutu
perpetrator regime and a new president rose to power, President Paul Kagame. When the destruction

funny post that I may like. In particular, social media allows me to have easy communication access
with significant other that are out of the country.
Many of Us for the most part has been affected by social media in their daily person to person
interaction now days, the texting, email and media account like Facebook just to mention one of them

was really nice, a great moment for members of the family to interact because some of us are living
out of the state. During the celebration everyone was on their cell phones taking pictures and posting

Summary Of We Are All Bystanders Essay
Everyday humans are presented with new opportunities and situations. These events can change the
way they think and make decisions. But it s the way it can change ones relationships that can really
hurt one s ability to care. There is a total of 7.442 billion people alive today. Yet only a small portion
of that are people one truly cares about. For many people, a specific setting, situation or emotion can
alter the way people can think rationally.
Throughout life, one is to see many people they don t know Humans walk past each other and no
interaction occurs. Depending on a particular situation one might be in, it can change the ability to
react, help and care for a stranger in need. In the article We are all bystanders , by Jason Marsh and
Dacher Keltner, it shows how in certain settings people don t act to help another, even though one
might want to. Everyday Stuart would board the bus and a couple of boys would tease him. I would sit
silent and watch. I wish I would ve helped (Marsh/Keltner 3). People develop a feeling that prevents
them from caring for strangers. This is due to a thought of peer pressure or judgement that could be
given to an individual for taking action. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Parenting Styles Essay
When my first child was born I there was considerable interest in Mozart CDs. These Cd s were
marketed with the promise that playing them would enrich the intellectual and creative development
of my child. Behind the popularity of selling products on such an idea is an unfortunate theme:
Parenting can be done quickly and with little inconvenience. The reality is that good parenting does
not require classical music, but instead time and effort. As children grow from infancy into
adolescence the role of parenting broadens. How parents react to their child s actions communicates a
standard of appropriate and inappropriate behavior that are fulfilled with varying degrees of conscious

What are the differences between children who have parents that show little affection when compared
to those who liberally hug and kiss? Does it matter if some parents are strict while others are lax?
Does it make a difference if some parents spank their children while others go on in seemingly
endlessly discussions? As my son once said to his older brother, Just say you understand so he ll shut
up. Diana Baumrind (1966, 1967, 1978) decided to find out the answers to those questions by
determining what effect parenting styles, as interactions between the two dimensions of parental
acceptance and control, had on children s social and intellectual competence. To start with, Baumrind
identified four distinct parenting styles: neglectful, permissive, authoritarian, and authoritative.
Neglectful parenting is a style in which the parent is very uninvolved in the child s life. These parents
seem to focus more on their own lives and are not particularly involved with or supportive of their
children. They appear to be detached from the child and provide only for their basic physical and
emotional needs and not much else. They offer little or no help with homework, provide minimal
supervision, and spend little time together. Permissive (or indulgent) parents are responsive and
accepting. They make few demands of their children, indulge their children s desires, and use little
punishment. They allow their children free expression of impulses and set few

The Role Of Empathy In Literature
Although there is no universal belief that empathy is central to social change, there is a significant
level of agreement from educators, politicians, philosophers, and even talk show hosts, that reading
fictional literature evokes feelings of empathy that can encourage individuals to make a difference in
the world (Davis 400; Jurecic 10). Joy Kogawa s novel, Obasan, is an example of how a text that
exudes beauty and gentleness rather than anger while approaching a dark subject can powerfully move
readers. Obasan follows the life of Naomi Nakane, a Japanese Canadian who was only five years old

family s home, ordered them inland to an internment camp in Slocan, and after the war ended, forced
the family to move to Alberta where they worked as field laborers on a beet farm. The harsh similarity
between Kogawa and Naomi s lives expresses to readers that, while fictional, Obasan is real. A review
truthfully states that hearing the facts recounted by an author who experienced them all ... [is] a
memorable historical excursion for [readers] who know that the only way to pluck wisdom from the
embarrassments of the past is to face their reality squarely (Graham). The fact that readers are aware
of the historical accuracy of Naomi s story creates a deeper sense of personal connection to the novel,
especially for Japanese Canadians and Canadians, as the events depicted are rooted in truth. One
review explains this effect of the novel well, saying Kogawa s account ... is a unique blend of fact,

The Death Of An Ancient Greek Philosopher
Many individuals fear the thought of death given that they feel the uneasiness of not knowing what
happens when one is dead. For example, some fear things like a continuation of their sense perception
post death allowing the possibility of being punished for all the bad actions in their lifetime. Epicurus,
an ancient Greek philosopher of the Hellenistic period of 323 31 BCE, believed that death is the end
of our existence and thus argued that the act of fearing death is irrational (Letter to Menoeceus, 10.124
125). The Epicurean argument I will discuss in this paper is in support of him claiming the fear of
death is irrational is better titled as the privation of experience argument. In his own words Epicurus
claimed that death is nothing to us in his Letter to Menoeceus (10.124). It is important to clarify that in
the privation of experience argument Epicurus speaks on the state of being dead and not the process of
death. So, for the purpose of this essay, like Epicurus, I will accept the notion that death is the end of
our existence. In this essay I will present the privation of experience argument in my own words based
on my interpretation of his argument. I will also explain how this Epicurean argument is valid given
that one can live a happy comfortable life simply by having the right attitude about the state of being
dead.
Before I present my interpretation of Epicurus privation of experience argument I will state that
Epicurus held a hedonistic point of view

Gladiator
In the year 2000, the movie Gladiator was released in movie theatres around the nation. The movie
involves historic roman emperors, different battles and the love of a roman warrior. I will follow along
in the story and discover the life and struggles of a gladiator.
History on Gladiators
Gladiators were professional fighters who specialized in weapons and fought in public arenas. They
were usually kept as slaves or prisoners. Gladiators were known to have short lives because they
usually fought until the death of one or another. Gladiators participated in Roman games, which was
an opportunity for Emperors and aristocrats to display their wealth to the populace, to honor ... Show

The Pros And Cons Of Intellectual Property
Intellectual property as is perceived globally has been in existence as long humankind. However, the
rights and laws pertaining to intellectual property have been recognised and afforded protection only
in recent years. This can be attributed to the global shift from the bygone industrial revolution to the
ongoing knowledge revolution. The developed nations of the world appraised that knowledge in its
various forms is what is more profitable in terms of trade and development leading to what is known
as the knowledge economy . Rapid advancements in technology and the requirement to stay ahead of
global competitors lead to intellectual property becoming a keystone to country, tying its survival in
global markets to the protection for intellectual property afforded by it. The several forms in which
intellectual property manifests itself had led to the introduction of copyrights, patents, trademarks, and
various other mechanisms by which protection is ensured.
The World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO), established by the WIPO Convention of 1967,
states that Intellectual Property refers to creations of the mind: inventions; literary and artistic works;
and symbols, names, and images used in commerce .

Application Of A Penetration Testing Against `` My House...
Chapter 3: Practical test
My House lab Scenario.
For this coursework I have decided to perform a penetration testing against My House lab , to evaluate
and improve my WLAN Infrastructure security.
The scenario that I had examined is a WLAN Infrastructure Network using a Virgin Media Super Hub
(Netgear) , with more than 10 devices connected .
Looking on the internet about the router model I own I could make an interesting discovery. I found an
article written by an expert in computer security, Paul Moore, dating back to March 2014(Paul
Moore,2014). This guy, a year ago, had found a flaw inside the super hub of VirginMedia. Indeed
reboot the router took 1 minute to start well, and in this minute for seven seconds was able to access
the WiFi network without the need for key. Fortunately Paul contacted the Virgin who in turn
contacted the Netgear to try to resolve the issue with the release of a new firmware.
Now the problem is resolved, however is an interesting issue happened, because sometimes, our
security depends not only on us and what we can do to protect it and keep it. Sometimes there may be
larger obstacles, as in this case an error of firmware that we can circumvent but not eliminate (until the
company responsible is not able to patch it).
Methodologies
I adopted different steps to performing penetration testing that is effective in testing how well the My
House lab is secure. I have used different softwares such as NMap , Wareshark,

#1 eBay Selling
The first way to make more money online is to sell items on the site eBay. eBay is an online auction
and shopping website that allows you to sell your own household items online for a profit or buy a
product from the site and then resell it for a greater profit. It is probably the biggest and most popular
of this type of websites throughout the entire Internet. A good aspect of this money making plan is that
it is easy to sell products on the site.
There are some cons associated with this way of earning though. Such as the fees correlated with the
selling a product, there is more than one. Another issue is that it is not easy and a lot of work for
sometimes less than satisfactory outcome. Along with all this it can be quite difficult to determine the
right niche for your products in order to beat the heavy competition involved with whatever it might
be. All that said, there is money to be made.
#2 Sell Your Own and Other Services

In the content of the period 1485 1587, to what extent did the Northern Rebellion of 1569 represent a
significant threat to the security of the Tudor State?
Rebellions caused a serious threat to monarchs; and as a result of the War of The Roses and Henry VII
s usurpation in 1485, the Tudor Dynasty had effectively been founded on Rebellion so it may be
possible to assume that the Tudor Dynasty could be removed by rebellion. The Tudor period can be
seen as a time of unrest as each Tudor monarch had at least one rebellion during their reign. The
majority of the Tudor rebellions were a significant threat as they attacked the authority of the Crown;

This to an extent is true as the Treason Act and Henry s Royal Supremacy were all seen as clear
examples of Cromwell s policies. Moreover, Henry VIII had said like traitors and rebels have
attempted, and not like true subjects, as ye name yourselves which illustrates that Henry VIII felt they
were a threat as they were questioning his judgement as king. As well as this, the Yorkshire rebellion
had political connotations as there was resentment in Yorkshire of a Lancastrian monarch when a
Yorkist has been overthrown. Moreover, the revolt involving Perkin Warbeck, had the support of
James IV and Charles VIII as well as the Holy Roman Emperor Maximilan, threatening Henry VII s
position as ruler as there was a possible danger than he may have been overthrown. However, the
support from these influential figures wasn t strong and Warbeck had little support south of the border.
In addition, the Wyatt s rebellion was also a political threat, questioning the security of the Tudor
State. This was due to the proposed marriage of Mary Queen of Scots to Philip of Spain. Nevertheless,
this revolt didn t have the support

The Importance of Companionship Essay
In this prison it is only in human intercourse that I can pretend to find consolation (Shelley 191),
writes Mary Shelley on January 18th, 1824, to describe her extreme state of loneliness two years after
her husband s passing. This passage shows how lack of companionship can make the world seems
empty, while an abundance of companionship will fill the lives of those who are so blessed to possess
it. In many novels we can see how the protagonist always has their confidante, or someone who they
will turn to when they are filled with despair and agony. Mary Shelley s Frankenstein is no different.
Each character has a need for the presence of a kind and loving soul in their life, or they could be

his ugliness. He felt as if when [he] looked around [he] saw and heard of none like [him] (Shelley

Childhood Obesity Is A Growing Epidemic
Childhood obesity is a growing epidemic. The UK has estimated through their schools National Child
Measurement Program that one third of the children there are overweight, and by 2050 that number
could rise to an alarming two thirds (Phillips 2). There are many uncontrollable factors in childhood
obesity such as the environment, income and genetics. However, parents are the most overlooked
factor. Our children s futures, with regard to their eating habits, are in the hands of their parents.
Ultimately, children grow into adults who make their own choices, but parents can have a positive
effect on the children s health in their childhood. By focusing on the parental factor, an immense
decrease in childhood obesity is obtainable. Parents must consider how the environment they choose
to raise their child in can affect their child s health. In rural environments, people can live off of
healthy, home grown food. If a child lives in the city, parents may have a harder time finding healthy,
affordable options for their family. For example, when comparing cities like Atlanta, Georgia to a rural
farm town like Jesup, Georgia, it is apparent that bigger cities lack resources that would keep
vegetables fresh and on hand at all times. Nevertheless, parents would still need to opt for these
healthier choices, instead of processed food or fast food. Even if these options are available, the major
concern parents have is whether they can afford buying healthier alternatives which

Leibniz Evil
The Problem of Evil
When talking about the existence of God there is always this problem of evil in the world. The people
who already believe tend to not answer the question with anything very satisfying for a nonbeliever. In
Leibnizs God, Evil and The Best of All Possible Worlds it is best addressed that there are the question
of why God is allowing such evil in the world. Where as Saint Anselm doesn t even acknowledge that
God is anything but great. However, both of their arguments are still not to par for anyone looking for
answers to the question of Evil.

For someone to believe in god he has to already believe in god. The argument is not convincing. When
Gotteried Leibniz makes his argument about god he at least acknowledges the evil in the world. He
gives reasoning and answers to the questions people have with the evil in the world. This problem of
evil is hard to get through for anyone who has experienced hardship or pain. The omnipotent god that
is referred to is one who is all knowing, powerful and good yet he made a world without those
qualities. His answer was that evil is accompanied by a greater good. (pg.89) the second part of his
argument discusses the amount of evil in the world. His answer to this was god in infinite and so is his
goodness whereas evil in finite and will not carry into our after life. (pg.90)
For him to say that there could possibly be more good than evil in absurd because how could he know
this. Then to assume that the goodness will be infinite we have to assume there is an afterlife that we
will be conscious for. These arguments are based on the fact that someone already believes in god so
they do work in favor of the argument he is trying to provide. Both Leibniz and Anselm offer
arguments that only work if you already believe and do nothing for people who do not believe in the

The Punishment of Malvolio Essay
In Shakespeare s play, Twelfth Night, the characters endure the fruits of their foolishness at the end of
the play, but Malvolio endures a greater suffering and greater embarrassment than the rest of the
characters. This is not simply by chance or whimsy: but this is Shakespeare s stratification of the vices
that a person may take upon him or herself. With this stratification, Shakespeare allocates Malvolio s
vices of pride, usurping the social order, and dour temperament as the worst of character flaws, and
that is why Malvolio receives the harshest punishment. Before examining the punishment that

place after Malvolio s pride is incensed by the false note of Olivia, so his actions go even further in
displaying his own ego and lack of regard for his superiors. Not only does he instruct Sir Toby and
Maria to, go hang yourselves, (III.iv.120) but he also claims that he is no longer of their, element
(III.iv.121). The implication is that he has ascended beyond Sir Toby and Maria, but that is merely the
delusion of his ego. In this scene he

The OPEC and Saudis new investment fund have been sending signals to keep our eyes opened. Three stories Qatar Gulf crisis, the third one since 2000. The atmosphere of the collaboration and mutual efforts of OPEC and its allies to reach a healthy market till 2020 was gone with the wind from Doha. The same Doha, the Qatari capital, hosted the OPEC meeting on April 17. Also Russians participated in the debates regarding cut off. Thus, this May the kingdom s sovereign wealth fund agreed to collaborate with Blackstone Group LP from New York City. • 3. Tuck Northrop Leadership Tuck Northrop should receive the Beard Award because I truly cannot think of a person who is as caring and kind as he is and also excels in so many areas. I m a junior at Fairfield Ludlowe High School, and though Tuck is not one of my academic teachers, he coaches me in both the fall and spring on our high school sailing team. Though I was only a freshman and had not experienced the team pre Tuck, everything I had heard of the past years was only negative. But from the second Tuck arrived as our coach, the team has been on a continuous incline to some of the best years that the Fairfield Sailing Team has experienced in its existence. We do have a few good sailors on the team from their own past experience, but I definitely credit Tuck s coaching ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There is not a single coach out there who cares about his sailors more than Tuck. I have been on many teams in the past, and not one coach dedicates as much time or care into the team as Tuck does. In the three years that he has been our coach so far, we have greatly increased our team building activities off the water, which has ultimately made the team stronger than ever in its overall chemistry, disregarding just our skills and knowledge of the sport. Tuck also knows each of the team members very well individually, which allows him to pick the best team pairings and also teach us based on our individual personalities, goals, and weaknesses. He wants each one of us to succeed more than anyone I know, and is willing to do everything he possibly can in order to help us on our own personal paths to success in sailing, academics, or more. I have no doubt that Tuck knows each of his students just as well in the classroom as he does on our team, allowing him to interact with both his students and us much more easily than other teachers. His ability to unite all of the team members enables our success overall to have reached our current achievements and hopefully even more in the future. While these two highlights of Tuck s personality and ideals demonstrate very well the type of person he is, he has so many more great qualities including his generosity, ambition, and fun loving nature. Compare And Contrast First And Second Great Awakening The First Great Awakening spread throughout the 13 colonies as an emotional religious revival movement from 1720s to 1740s that appeared due to the increase of secularism and rationalism religion in which evangelist had challenged established denominations and pushed towards a more personal relationship with God (3 + 12).The Second Great Awakening was a religious revival movement from in the 19th century, which called for an individualized relationship between the people and God, promoting it through Baptist and Methodist beliefs, which held a more egalitarian attitude in the case of everyone being able to achieve salvation. The First Great Awakening and Second Great Awakening both transformed religious ideology by introducing individualism, a belief where men have a closer and direct relationship with God. The First and Second Great Awakenings had a transformation in their methods of worship with a change in venue, with the First Great Awakening having people preach to the masses on the street corners outside; while in the Second Great Awakening, having revivals and camp meetings with people screaming and jumping, a change from the traditional, to a wholly new method of worship. Jonathan Edwards, a Congregationalist minister in western Massachusetts, who was shocked at the dissipating religious spirit, believing that people were giving up to sinful pleasures. He worked against the secularization of the Enlightenment and focus on pushing the emotional side of religion by expressing the wonderful nature of Heaven and the horror of Hell, helping to renew intensity behind religion. This idea of Heaven and Hell was stated in his sermon, Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God , intended to scare people into looking for salvation, with descriptions of people being held over a fire in Hell. This is expressive of the change of social norms in Puritan New England, where going to the Minister s house as opposed to the Tavern was acceptable. This also shows the more individualized ideals people had, for they were presented with the option of achieving their own salvation and take responsibility for their lives, having the option of maintaining a personal connection with God. • 7. Sigmund Freud And Freud s Theory Of The Unconscious Mind... A twenty one year old woman by the name of Anna O that was caring for her ailing father began to experience severe debilitating physical and psychological symptoms. During this period, most psychoses were labeled as hysteria. Anna O began to hallucinate, experience paralysis, and have an extreme aversion to food and drink. She underwent treatment with Dr. Breuer (Oxford Journals, 2005). When Dr. Breuer treated Anna O for her hysteria and her mental and physical symptoms he discovered that as she began to talk of hidden thought processes about her experiences during their discussions, whether through hypnosis or while conscious, certain symptoms would disappear (Oxford Journals, 2005). Dr. Breuer discussed Anna O s case with Sigmund Freud and Freud later perfected this talking cure. Also known as sweeping the chimney or sweeping the mind. Sigmund Freud s theory of the unconscious mind claimed that people experience hysteria or other reactions in response to repressed experiences. The unconscious contains all those drives, urges, or instincts that are beyond our awareness but that nevertheless motivate most of our words, feelings, and actions (Feist Feist, 2008). Freud and his theory are responsible for the birth of what is known today as psychoanalysis and Freud is considered the founding father of psychoanalysis. In treating Anna O, Freud would examine the relationship between Anna and her father and check for other possible triggers from her life that could ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Theme Of Occurrence At Owl Creek Bridge A Foreshadowing Death Often times, a reader becomes shocked by the ending of a story. They never saw the twist ending coming and it leaves them speechless. Could the reader s initial surprise have been avoided? Most likely, yes. Authors frequently put clues into their stories and books that can help a reader figure out the conclusion. In the story Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge , written by Ambrose Bierce, the reader is taken on a great escape from the main character s execution. The unexpected ending cuts the escape short by revealing Peyton Farquhar, the leading character, is actually dead and swinging from Owl Creek Bridge. Many clues are planted within Peyton s escape that clue the reader in to realizing the true ending. In the beginning, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... His senses are extremely clear, despite being shot only moments before. Peyton then makes an escape into the woods. He wanders in a random direction, yet he knows it will bring him home. It remains unrealistic to believe that Peyton could use his senses to know the direction of his home. Now that he is no longer in immediate danger, Peyton notices his neck is swollen, eyes congested, tongue swollen, and he seemed to not even feel the roadway beneath his feet. These statements are, in my opinion, the most obvious sign of foreshadowing. The physical aspects of his body are similar to a freshly dead or newly decomposing body. Also, his inability to feel a road beneath his feet is a sign that he may not actually be standing on anything. While he travels, Peyton drifts through sleep. He wakes up to find he has made it home. Peyton most likely did not sleep while traveling. The author is foreshadowing his journey to death. The tale goes on to describe Peyton s journey to his new life. Upon arriving home, he sees his wife. She stands, smiling and waiting for him. As Peyton embraces her, he feels a blow on the back of his neck and proceeds to see a blinding white light. The twist end is finally revealed to the reader. The feeling Peyton had as he hugged his wife was most likely the feeling of his neck breaking. The white light represents what waits beyond. These were the final hints of foreshadowing in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Is it a green, slimy monster, or one of its own kind...human? Horror is an exhilarating genre for all audiences to read. The Tell Tale Heart is about a diseased man who murders his employer for having a paranoid eye. In the story The Tell Tale Heart , by Edgar Allen Poe, the three elements of horror: monster, poor choices, and advanced knowledge are applied very well. One of the first elements of horror in The Tell Tale Heart is monster. Monster is a creature or human, usually a character, they have a history and have developed as a character over a period time. Most of the time, they torment other characters in the story. The narrator of The Tell Tale Heart is the monster. In the story, the narrator explains that, In an instant I dragged him to ... This element is in the story a lot, with the narrator, when killing the old man and the events leading up to the killing. If the narrator had not made this decision to kill the man, this whole story would have stopped and been boring. Lastly, the narrator stated, NOw you may think that I drew back but no (Poe, 297). The poor choices element, is a decision and this quote says the decision he had and how he chose not to draw back and stop there. • 10. Cosmetic Plastic Surgery Is Beyond Physical For Many Patients Cosmetic plastic surgery is beyond physical for many patients. Notably, people will consult with a plastic surgeon in efforts to reshape and improve the appearance of a number of things such as their breasts, abdomen, facial features, hair, the list goes on. Ultimately, the end goal for both the patient and the surgeon is for the recipient of the cosmetic procedure to have an improved appearance. Granted that plastic surgery is used to improve one s appearance. self esteem is directly linked with how one feels about their physical appearance. Therefore, undergoing plastic surgery to improve one s appearance will help their self esteem. Communication throughout the entire surgical process is essential. In order for both parties to be satisfied with the end results, communication should most definitely be a priority. Plastic surgery has been used for over 4,000 years, and continues to be improved today. India had some of the very first recorded reconstructive procedures, which included skin grafts and nose reconstructions. In ancient India, these surgeries were used to repair those who were injured in battle or had their nose cut off as punishment. For instance, Indian physician, Sushruta, who wrote the encyclopedia Sanskrit, provided instructions on performing procedures such as an earlobe or nose reconstruction using a skin graft from a cheek or forehead (DocShop, 2015). Families get accustomed to this new reality, filled with dust everywhere, a hiding sun, deep cracks in corn field, gophers and ants build home out of the dry dirty, and waterless clouds: House were shut tight, and cloth wedged around doors and windows, but the dust came it so thinly that it could not be seen in the air, and it settled like pollen on the chairs and tables, on the dishes (Steinbeck 5). Furthermore, if you were wondering why I chose this topic to research, I would truthfully tell you that the only reason I chose George Etienne Cartier was because he was as good a topic as anything else, so personally I didn t care about the topic. But as I put more research into the topic I came to realize just how important George Etienne Cartier was to Canada. Not just in his efforts towards Confederation but also the work he put into preserving French culture and identity in Canada to railway development. Of course this isn t as exciting as many other topics, but without George Cartier s legacy and contributions we would most likely not be where we are today. In the latter half of the 20th century, shopping malls became very popular and most of the company s stores were situated in the downtown areas, they followed the trend of developing more stores in the shopping malls to attract customers and increase the financial profitability of the company. Conversely, JC Penney had freestanding stores, and was able to get consumer traffic which helped the company earn a profit and increase its market share. From its inception in 1902, the company grew enormously, it added different businesses, made them successful, and sold them to focus more on the retail aspect of the business. Whether it be the massacre of over 800,000 people that the Rwandan Genocide caused in a mere hundred days, or the long lasting conflict between the Montagues and Capulets in Romeo and Juliet. Rwanda is a small landlocked country within Africa that is about the size of Maryland (Beauchamp, 2014). What are the differences between children who have parents that show little affection when compared to those who liberally hug and kiss? Does it matter if some parents are strict while others are lax? Does it make a difference if some parents spank their children while others go on in seemingly endlessly discussions? As my son once said to his older brother, Just say you understand so he ll shut up. Diana Baumrind (1966, 1967, 1978) decided to find out the answers to those questions by determining what effect parenting styles, as interactions between the two dimensions of parental acceptance and control, had on children s social and intellectual competence. To start with, Baumrind identified four distinct parenting styles: neglectful, permissive, authoritarian, and authoritative. Neglectful parenting is a style in which the parent is very uninvolved in the child s life. These parents seem to focus more on their own lives and are not particularly involved with or supportive of their children. They appear to be detached from the child and provide only for their basic physical and emotional needs and not much else. They offer little or no help with homework, provide minimal supervision, and spend little time together. Permissive (or indulgent) parents are responsive and accepting. Joy Kogawa s novel, Obasan, is an example of how a text that exudes beauty and gentleness rather than anger while approaching a dark subject can powerfully move readers. Epicurus, an ancient Greek philosopher of the Hellenistic period of 323 31 BCE, believed that death is the end of our existence and thus argued that the act of fearing death is irrational (Letter to Menoeceus, 10.124 125). The Epicurean argument I will discuss in this paper is in support of him claiming the fear of death is irrational is better titled as the privation of experience argument. In his own words Epicurus claimed that death is nothing to us in his Letter to Menoeceus (10.124). It is important to clarify that in the privation of experience argument Epicurus speaks on the state of being dead and not the process of death. So, for the purpose of this essay, like Epicurus, I will accept the notion that death is the end of our existence. In this essay I will present the privation of experience argument in my own words based on my interpretation of his argument. If a child lives in the city, parents may have a harder time finding healthy, affordable options for their family. For example, when comparing cities like Atlanta, Georgia to a rural farm town like Jesup, Georgia, it is apparent that bigger cities lack resources that would keep vegetables fresh and on hand at all times. Nevertheless, parents would still need to opt for these healthier choices, instead of processed food or fast food. Even if these options are available, the major concern parents have is whether they can afford buying healthier alternatives which ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 36. Leibniz Evil The Problem of Evil When talking about the existence of God there is always this problem of evil in the world. The people who already believe tend to not answer the question with anything very satisfying for a nonbeliever. In Leibnizs God, Evil and The Best of All Possible Worlds it is best addressed that there are the question of why God is allowing such evil in the world. Where as Saint Anselm doesn t even acknowledge that God is anything but great. However, both of their arguments are still not to par for anyone looking for answers to the question of Evil. Anselm s Ontological Argument has five parts to explain why someone should believe in god. None of the have any concreteness to them. There is nothing to make someone believe who ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For someone to believe in god he has to already believe in god. The argument is not convincing. When Gotteried Leibniz makes his argument about god he at least acknowledges the evil in the world. He gives reasoning and answers to the questions people have with the evil in the world. This problem of evil is hard to get through for anyone who has experienced hardship or pain. The omnipotent god that is referred to is one who is all knowing, powerful and good yet he made a world without those qualities. His answer was that evil is accompanied by a greater good. (pg.89) the second part of his argument discusses the amount of evil in the world. His answer to this was god in infinite and so is his goodness whereas evil in finite and will not carry into our after life. (pg.90) For him to say that there could possibly be more good than evil in absurd because how could he know this. Then to assume that the goodness will be infinite we have to assume there is an afterlife that we will be conscious for. These arguments are based on the fact that someone already believes in god so they do work in favor of the argument he is trying to provide. Both Leibniz and Anselm offer arguments that only work if you already believe and do nothing for people who do not believe in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

But the Indian societies are multilingual and hence the children who hail from diverse background fail to adapt to changes. The children who have been trained to think in their mother tongue feel depressed and agitated when they are compelled to learn in English. • 40. The Punishment of Malvolio Essay In Shakespeare s play, Twelfth Night, the characters endure the fruits of their foolishness at the end of the play, but Malvolio endures a greater suffering and greater embarrassment than the rest of the characters. This is not simply by chance or whimsy: but this is Shakespeare s stratification of the vices that a person may take upon him or herself. With this stratification, Shakespeare allocates Malvolio s vices of pride, usurping the social order, and dour temperament as the worst of character flaws, and that is why Malvolio receives the harshest punishment. Before examining the punishment that Malvolio endures, it is necessary to examine his flaws and offenses. His arrival in the play is with criticism of Feste, and that initial ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Malvolio is treading the ground of criminal offense against a lord, who is also the cousin of his Lady. Beyond the offense upon the higher strata of society, Malvolio is also demonstrating his dour temperament in this scene which is also problematic. The importance of mirth and joviality is affirmed throughout the play, and for some characters, their greatest virtue is the ability to enjoy and be passionate for life. Malvolio stands in opposition to this with his protests and derision, and in the play he is the only character that takes offense to other characters enjoying their lives. The hostile environment he creates is important to note because it gives the other characters an impetus to deal with his troublesome personality in order to enjoy their own pleasures and pursuits. The last encounter where Malvolio extends his grievances is the second encounter with Sir Toby. Their encounter takes place after Malvolio s pride is incensed by the false note of Olivia, so his actions go even further in displaying his own ego and lack of regard for his superiors. Not only does he instruct Sir Toby and Maria to, go hang yourselves, (III.iv.120) but he also claims that he is no longer of their, element (III.iv.121). The implication is that he has ascended beyond Sir Toby and Maria, but that is merely the delusion of his ego. In this scene he ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
