Datamining group final version Essay
Data Mining Turn in your answers, along with excerpted output as relevant. In this assignment, we
will explore RFM segmentation, a technique used to group customers according to their aggregate
purchase history with a company. We specifically look at how recently customers have purchased (R
recency), how often they have purchased (F frequency), and how much they have spent (M monetary).
We will then consider how these different segments responded to the offer to buy The Art History of
Florence. Use the CUSTOMER.SAV dataset for all parts of this assignment. Team members: WANG

The Knights Of The Golden Circle Analysis
Many people believe they know the full story of the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln; little
do they know, there is a lot more to this story. This extra information deals with a society that centered
around two things, secrecy and slavery. This group was known predominantly as the Knights of the
Golden Circle (KGC). The Knights of the Golden Circle was a secret organization that promoted and
wanted to expand slavery and who played a part in the assassination of Abraham Lincoln. The Knights
of the Golden Circle was founded on July 4, 1854 in Lexington, Kentucky. It was founded by George
W. Bickley and five other men, whom he contacted and brought together (Longley). The newly
founded society took the place of another organization ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Even so, there is evidence that Booth was part of the Knights. A trunk that belonged to Booth was
found after Lincoln s death. In it were symbols and coded messages used by the Knights. Modern
researchers have decoded these and have reported that they deal with Lincoln (Ghost Towns of the
East). Along with this, Booth was known for traveling to Montreal often. Montreal was the operations
center for high ranking officials of the Knights at the time (Getler).
Even with all of this information, a person can only guess what was truly happening the whole time.
This is due in part because of the Knights being so secrecy. Even though it is known that Booth did
indeed assassinate Lincoln, it is not known why he went through with it. Was it his own anger towards
losing the war? Or did the Knights assign him to do it? This may forever stay a mystery. All that can
be said for sure is that Booth was a member of the Knights of the Golden Circle, and he took the life
of an innocent man, changing history forever. The rest is up for a person to decide for

The Causes And Effects Of Climate Change
Climate Change
Climate change is caused by human activity. This climate change in turn, causes hurricanes. The
hurricanes will destroy the human population main resources. This will lower people into having less
important resources such as: food, shelter, and water. Having less resources could lead to poverty,
which is known in developing countries such as: India, Philippines, and Haiti (Weeks 56). There are
also changes in the oceans that are being affected. This change occurring could lead to the ocean over
flooding due to contaminating the ocean caused by humans because humans have an impact on the
environment. Humanity needs to cut down the production in the coal industry because people are
burning the coal; this is causing the coal to pollute the air people breath. The effects of climate change
is caused by deforestation, overpopulation, burning coal, and contaminated food production.
The cutting of the trees is causing deforestation, the trees are a helpful resource in the environment.
According to an article by Struck states, Experts say deforestation threatens a delicate balance in
which forests act as Earth s lungs: absorbing carbon dioxide the biggest contributor to climate change
and expelling oxygen (29). This effect causes more of the air to become contaminated by carbon
dioxide. Carbon dioxide is a harmful gas that is released into the air. The trees help keep down the
carbon dioxide in the air; this releases oxygen, so people can breathe clean air. As

Training At The Recruiting Station Essay
Many people tend to think that our military branches are only comprised of limited occupations and
jobs that support combat operations, but in reality, there is far more than that. For my project, I
decided to observe and work with US Army Recruiting Station in Vestal, NY because recruiting
stations are the first step any civilian has to take in order to serve their country. Working with the
recruiting station was a great place for me to learn more about how the Army branch of the military is
organized and how they complete their goals and objectives day to day.
During my introduction with working at the recruiting station, I met Sergeant First Class Barriger who
is Platoon sergeant and in charge of the army recruiting station. SFC Barriger told me they are part of
the 1st Brigade of USAREC (United States Army Recruiting Command) which is in Fort Meade,
Maryland. SFC Barriger is in charge of reporting to headquarters how many civilians the station
recruited on a monthly basis. He is also responsible for getting orders from headquarters to ship out
the recruits to Basic Combat Training and Advanced individual training. When I asked SFC Barriger
how the station operated itself in an organizational manner, he explained how the duties in the
recruiting station are set up and how everyone in his platoon shares different, essential responsibilities.
By completing these various duties, a proper workflow is maintained so that civilians are more
efficiently recruited and officers

Literature Review On Gout
LITERATURE REVIEW
The imbalance of trace elements was shown is involved in many disorders, such as Gout. Sixty four
elements were measured in the serum samples of Gout patients with in three regionally and healthy
control group by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP MS). An elemental profile of
Gout notably altered Al, Li, Ti, Se, Fe, Cu, Sr, Ta, Hg, U, Th, and Bi. An independent group of 39 gout
patients and 13 healthy controls was further used to confirm the elemental analysis, yielding a
sensitivity of 1.00 and a specificity of 1.00 for Gout forecast. A good link was also observed between
Li, Zn, and Cu and further two risk aspects, age and serum urate concentration, in Gout patients.
Therefore it was accomplished that gout has a distinctive elemental profile despite of many other
nutritional and environmental factors [1]. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In recent decades, studies have shown that the development of Hyperuriemia and Gout is due to effect
of lead on the tubular urate transport causing diminished urate excretion. In the case of lead
intoxication these effects were mostly linked with renal failure. The clinical features of saturnine gout
were basically same as that of primary gout; though, acute attacks were likely to occur in the knee
more recurrently. The analysis of saturnine Gout was based on the history of exposure to lead, lead
toxicity, high serum lead levels and various other abnormalities. The treatment of Gout consists of
eliminating the further exposure to lead from the patient, to utilize chelating agents for removal of
lead, and management of acute Gouty Arthritis and Hyperuricaemia

The Importance Of Physical Fitness For College Athletes
Physical fitness is vital for many college athletes. Things like muscle strength, muscular endurance,
anaerobic, and aerobic power are crucial to success of the athlete s performance. The vital physical
fitness of the athletes is to increase training sessions before the season and during season. Some of
these training session that college athletes participate in can lead to an increase in stress on certain
muscles. These muscles weaken over time due to the athlete not giving a proper time to recover from
training and playing. The most common injury for athletes are knee injuries. Some of the most
common, but are not limited to, include ACL, MCL, patellofemoral pain, and strains. Knee braces are
the most common way of helping reduce knee pain and prevent any further damage to the joint.
Though helpful knee braces can sometimes be uncomfortable, are not always supportive enough, and
are bulky. Due to these inconveniences, many athletes are turning to other alternative like Kinesio tape
(K tape). Kinesio tape has been used for many years and has helped many famous athletes like Kerri
Walsh Jennings, James Harden with their pain. Now it is more common for athletes in high schools
and colleges to use Kinesio tape because of its effectiveness and easy application and removal.
Kinesio tape and knee braces have been under debate recently on which one would be more effective
to use during physical activity.
Some of the research supports that Kinesio tape has helps reduce pressure to

Analysis Of The Poem The Runaway Soldier
Diction
The word choices often show formalness, and in fact the author often uses the bravado of older
English and complex but seemingly casual words. The choice of these words probably were chosen to
reflect the intelligence of the main characters and their love of English and all of its intriguing
nuances, and not necessarily the wealth of them. There is imagery placed throughout the story, such as
when Minor describes having to brand the runaway soldiers. Another example of imagery occurs in
the middle of chapter six, the description of asylum paints it as a horrifying prison of madness, and not
a place to make people get better and fix their mental problems. Language in this story is often
flowery with the formal feeling it exudes. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He was, understandably, preternaturally anxious to have something useful to do, something that might
occupy the weeks and months and years and decades that stretched without limit, Until Her Majesty s
Pleasure be Known, before him, (Winchester 125). These two scenes have very different diction
within them, which helps set the mood of the setting and the state of mind that Minor is in. In the
earlier one Winchester uses words with negative connotation to them, such as paranoia, gun, illegally.
These words put together give off the vibe of Minor being a dangerous madman, one that you would
want to stay away from at all costs. This form of diction is often used, especially when he is plagued
by his paranoid delusions such as the intruding malevolent Irishmen. The second scene from the story
portrays a curiosity through Minor. This is done by the usage of words like sensitive, curious, yale,
useful, anxious and occupy. Words like these could portray the image of a timid yet intelligent man
with their connotations. Conclusively, one can see that the differences in connotation can paint an
image upon a character and make us feel certain way about them due to how we associate with the
used words.
Syntax
Using one of the passages already copied to exemplify diction, focus on the author s syntax choices.
What effect is he creating?
The sentences in this story are often complex and rather long with a high level of formality.

Accountability in Nursing
Introduction Responsibility is defined as the reliability, dependability, and the obligation to
accomplish work , responsibility also includes each person s obligation to perform at an acceptable
level, the level that the person has been educated (Kelly Heidenthal, 2003, p. 268). Accountability is
defined as, being responsible and liable for actions or failure of actions of oneself or others in the
context of delegation (NCSBN, 2009). This is in reference to the nurse s legal liability for the actions
taken and patient outcomes. Accountability and responsibility are different, as responsibility belongs
to the person doing the task and accountability belongs to the person who assigned the task. The nurse
is both accountable for the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is the legal liability the practitioner owes to the patient. By accepting the responsibility to
perform a task the practitioner must ensure the task is performed competently at least to the standard
of the ordinarily competent practitioner in that type of task. If a practitioner such as a registered nurse
should delegate a task, then that practitioner must be sure that the delegation is appropriate. This
means that the task must be necessary; and the person performing the delegated task, for example a
HCA, must understand the task and how it is performed, have the skills and abilities to perform the
task competently and accept responsibility for carrying it out One common mistakes exhibited by
professionals in the field is delegation of duties by persons. Nurses should be wary of delegating
duties to health care assistant because nurses should be aware of the abilities of the person with whom
he or she is delegating duties. This is to minimize any chance of poor service delivery. Poor patient
attendance by a person tasked with the duty at the time of delivery will extend the liability to the nurse
delegating duties. Accountability of nurses is clearly pinpointed and well within the realm of law. A
nurse is accountable to all the patients he or she is expected to attend to. Such accountability as
underlined by common law helps promote safety of all patients. Accountability to the profession is
one other important aspect that provides an

Arthur vs Beowulf Essay
The viciously gallant epic Beowulf, Steve Baron s capricious film Merlin, and Niccolo Machiavelli s
enlightening treatise The Prince all portray the struggle between good and evil, teach morals, and
convey what it takes to be a superior king. Merlin has successfully brought up King Arthur to become
a virtuous man and a worthy king who is exceptionally capable of fulfilling Machiavelli s guidelines.
For example, Machiavelli states in Concerning Things for Which Men, and Especially Princes, are
Blamed from The Prince that ...a man who wishes to act entirely up to his professions of virtue soon

Beowulf will forever be praised for his heroic deed for ...no better king had ever/ Lived, no prince so
mild, no man/ So open to his people, so deserving of praise (l. 895 897). Overall, Beowulf is a better
ruler than Arthur because although Arthur had remarkable morals and intentions, he was not praised
nor respected like Beowulf. If there is no respect for a leader, than how can one be a good leader?
Beowulf s men cherished him and believed in him. They had his back for every choice he made. After
Arthur decided to not accuse his wife of treason, some of his men betrayed and left him. Also,
Beowulf had no gluttony and did not desire any gold or riches. He was generous and gave all to his
people. For example, Beowulf admirably states, I sold my life/ For this treasure and I sold it well (l.
809 810). His relief upon seeing the treasure demonstrates his desire to leave something to his
citizens. Beowulf made the Danes a peaceful people once again, making him one of their greatest
kings and heroes. While Arthur had charismatic qualities and benevolent morals, Beowulf, in a
modern society, would be most likeable because he was a more sufficient leader. Every hero desires to
be remembered for more than one heroic inclination. To protect mankind from evil, to use his powers
to rescue his family and friends from evil circumstances, and to earn immortality through his heroic
tendencies are three important propensities. Three of

David Suzuki Diversity Is Strength
Pluralistic superiority is a pervasive concept existing in a significant portion of the Westernized world,
enforcing the notion that multi cultural, multi ethnic, and multi national ideologies are inextricably
related with societal and economic progress, exemplified by the myopic and unsubstantiated quotation
Diversity is Strength from the current incumbent of Canada s position of prime minister. The
fundamental issue with this perspective is its inability to properly process anterior information related
to alternate states, and the orthodox prerequisites involved in the ascension of relevant nation states by
creating such an axiomatic statement which purportedly embodies the quixotic goals of a state. As a
method of responding to the notion ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
An intrinsic issue related to David Suzuki s postulation that diversity of all variants is useful to the
perpetuation of the is his intentional disregard for the biological notion of conflict within ecosystems,
specifically pertaining to invasive species and the ecosystems (and entities inhabiting the ecosystem)
which are the recipients of said invasion; if a species is relocated to an ecosystem and possesses traits
which fundamentally do not align with the synergistic and symbiotic nature of the ecosystem , there
exists a ubiquitous consequence for the denizens who are accustomed to the relatively static nature of
their environment. The socio cultural correlation, related to the biological notion of ecosystem
equilibrium, is the introduction of individuals who possess fundamental disagreements with the
predominant ethical and moral perspectives of the majority of inhabitants; this, historically, results in
the amplifications of tension between the two groups (primary inhabitants and incompatibly invasive)
and the inexorable suppression (this has a propensity to manifest in both active and passive
assimilation or the relocation of the minority into a specific region) of the incompatibly invasive or the
disintegration of the primary inhabitants social structure . Present within both a biological and socio
cultural structure is compatibility within an ecosystem, and operating within the confines of such
permits a higher degree of success when approaching multi culturalism, but attempting to implement
the unrestricted proliferation of any species or culture within an environment, as proselytized by
David Suzuki, is not functional. An example of such would be introducing the Andean bear into the
environment of the Asiatic black bear, in

Of the many historical eras, the 1960 era is regarded as one of the most controversial eras ever in the
history of America. However, this was not the anticipation that most of American citizens had. At the
very beginning of the 1960s, many believed that this was perhaps the most promising era yet. They
even dubbed this era the golden age. The expectations of the people intensified in 1961 when John F.
Kennedy took the office of the president. His charisma and enthusiasm won the hearts and trust of the
American people. They strongly believed that his government would provide solutions to the major
problems that they were facing at the time. However, to the surprise of many, the decade turned out to

This party movement was however founded for the sole purpose of eradicating police brutality in
African American neighborhoods. However, with the rapid expansion of the party and the start of a
publication, the objectives of the party had diversified. This diversification meant that the party was
keener on social empowerment thus disregarding the exclusivity of race. This however sparked up
problems within the party since the radical members differed in opinion with the members that were in
support of their socialistic cause. This made the party s political motive to be disoriented and the
government at that time considered the party as a national threat.
The Black community of the United States was not the only entity that was fighting for its civil rights.
Gender inequality was still a societal vice that America was struggling with. During this time, men
were given more opportunities as compared to women in virtually every field and this led to the
second wave of the feminist movement. The job market viewed women as the less productive species.
One of the reasons why this notion was upheld was because the women needed time off when they
delivered and most employers believed the assertion that women would quit their job when they got
pregnant. More to this, the society had branded the man as the provider of the home. It was therefore
argued that men needed jobs and better pay than women because of the fact

The Role Of Sterilization On The Individual
For many centuries, countries have used forced sterilization for various reasons for their cultures.
They have used this method of sterilization to help control their populations, help grow their
economies, and for their beliefs or laws within their countries. As for the United States, we have
depicted our country as the land of the free. Our nation was founded on the premise that all human
beings are created equal, stated Philip Roos, author of Psychological Impact of Sterilization on the
Individual, and possess inalienable rights (45). However, some people would disagree because of how
our country has changed since it has become a country. People do not have the freedom in which some
believe we should have. In addition, we have advanced beyond most other countries when it comes to
opportunities for our people.
According to the authors of Federally Funded Sterilization: Time to Rethink Policy, Sonya Borrero,
Nikki Zite, and Mitchell D. Creinin:
Female sterilization has been a popular method of contraception since the 1970 s. Despite the
relatively high utilization of sterilization in the United States, there is considerable evidence that there
is an unmet demand for the procedure among some segments of the United States population. In
particular, low income women may face significant system level barriers to obtaining a desired
sterilization procedure. (1822)
Forced sterilization no longer means just sterilization with the element of not being able to have
children

Fraudulent Medical Billing And The Social Impacts
Fraudulent Medical Billing and the Social Impacts It is easy to see how fraudulent medical billing is
having a major impact on the Unites States and the citizens of this country who rely on it on a daily
basis. We often hear through the various new sources in this country, on the internet or out of the
mouths of politicians and experts in the healthcare field about the failing healthcare system in this
country. We often hear many different opinions on what needs to be done to fix our healthcare
problem within this country and fix what looks to be a very broken system at this point. No matter
what the solution to our poor healthcare system is one thing that is very clear is that healthcare fraud
and abuse is playing a major role in the depletion of money in this country and the rise in healthcare
costs for the citizens of this country. Healthcare fraud and abuse are different terms that describe
different types of deceitful acts done by healthcare professionals or by solo individuals. Fraudulent
medical billing is defined as knowingly submitting false statements or making misrepresentations of
facts or false documentation to obtain a health care payment. These payments for which no entitlement
would otherwise exist, knowingly soliciting, paying, and/or accepting compensation to encourage or
reward referrals for items or services reimbursed by federal health care programs and making

Problems Faced By Airports And Airports
One of the major issues at airports is improving efficiency, flow of all traffic to reduce the possibility
of delays. After safety, everyone involved in any sort of airport operations, works on increasing
efficiency in order to avoid delays and having to spend additional money. As the airports operations
increase, the people in charge will have to come up with solutions to avoid setbacks. Airport planners
have to come up with ideas in order to improve airport facilities and increase the efficiency of the
flow. The challenges that come with this type of projects is that sometimes the airports don t have
much room for improvement within the airport and don t have room to expand due to surrounding
neighborhoods. This is where they have to find the right balance for capacity and delay. To solve this
problem first they have to find the hitch and then focus on working on that specific area. For example,
it can be a specific terminal, runways, taxiways, or not enough gates. Other alternatives to the matter
can be working on distributing the traffic through the off peak times, or to start using other areas to
within the airport to decrease the traffic at one specific area. Capacity can be view in two different
ways. One is at the rate the aircraft can be handled. Example, the airport may be able to handle the
morning rush without having any delays, assuming everything runs smooth without any disturbances.
Practical capacity is the amount of operations in the airfield with a small

How Do Women With Histories Of Miscarriage
Qualitative: How do women with histories of miscarriage view the use of supplemental progesterone
in early pregnancy?
To properly evaluate this qualitative research question there are a few things that I would like to do
before I began this study on a large scale. First, this study is based on the assumption that while the
use supplemental progesterone in early pregnancy has not proven to be statistically significant in the
prevention of miscarriage; benefits have been shown to its use. I would want to perform a meta
analysis of the data to ensure that the efforts of this study are not misguided using this assumption.
According to Haidich (2010), a meta analysis is a quantitative, formal, epidemiological study design
used to systematically assess previous research studies to derive conclusions about that body of
research. Secondly, there are very few studies that investigate this question. Thus, I feel that it would
be important to run a pilot study first to plan the design for this study thoroughly. This is a study that
will be based on education and the relationships built with physicians. The strategy needs to be well
planned.

Abstract
This paper explores the research and find results on how drinking and driving has become a big
problem in the United States. Drinking and driving effects a person s ability to operate a vehicle and
therefore drunk drivers need to be educated on the repercussions with drinking and driving. Every day
drunk drivers are arrested, either for traffic violations, reckless driving, and random stops on the road,
or accidents. This paper also examines and explains what happens to the people affected by drinking
and driving and what the people can do to avoid it. There have been many cases of injured people due

There have been many cases of injuries due to drinking and driving. Whether it had to do with the
driver being drunk and getting injured, or being the one affected by the drunk driver. There have even
been laws that have been implemented to make it harder to get away with drinking and driving. There
are also many resources a driver who is drinking can think of to avoid drinking and driving. Drinking
and driving is extremely bad, especially if a person is thinking about operating vehicle. Drunk drivers
need to be educated on the repercussions
First off, every day drunk drivers are arrested either for traffic violations, reckless driving, or random
stops on the road etc. A drunk driver hears the siren of a cop car, sees the red flashing lights, and a
person in uniform knocking at their driver side window. An officer has pulled them over for suspicious
driving. If the officer smells a strong odor of alcohol, and the person exhibits slurred speech or general
incoherence they will be asked to exit their vehicle and move to the side of the road where they will
undergo the field of sobriety testing (Drinking and Driving Consequences and Effects). If you fail to
demonstrate that you are fine to operate a vehicle during these field tests, the officer can then ask
permission to perform a blood alcohol content test, or breathalyzer for short. If a person is failing the
tests the officers give them, the person is going to get arrested, get tickets, fines, or even jail

Abstract Colorimetric assay is a process of determining a concentration of a solution based on
absorbance of light. The purpose of this lab is to determine if the Bradford assay is an accurate way to
determine an unknown concentration of two samples of protein. The Bradford assay is done by
measuring wavelength of light passing through a cuvette filled with Bradford dye and concentrations
of PBS and proteins. After the cuvettes are mixed they are placed into a spectrophotometer to measure
wavelength. The wavelength given will be used to plot a standard curve based on concentration (x
axis) and wavelength (y axis). The standard curve is then used to measure an educated guess on the
concentrations of unknown protein concentrations. We hypothesized that if we use the Bradford assay
and colorimetric spectrophotometry we can determine an accurate concentration of two unknown
concentrations of proteins. The results of this lab failed to reject our hypothesis based on accurate
measurements of protein concentrations. The standard curves are drawn with a linear increasing slope.
The Bradford assay is an accurate way to demine the concentration of an unknown concentration.

Liturgical Dance In Modern Times

RESEARCH PAPER
Liturgical Dance (Ancient Times to the Modern Times)
In the world that we live in today there are many things that has been passed down from year to year.
In the years such as 1400 and 1440 B.C. dancing in which we refer to now as liturgical dancing was
first introduced. Liturgical dance has as its purpose the deepening and focusing of the worship
experience; it is not merely ornamental or decorative. (Branigan). Liturgical dance is a very uplifting
form of art; starting from the biblical times and even up until now. The history of liturgical dance
begins in the Bible. The Bible doesn t mention much about dance. But, it does mention dances of
celebration during two important historical events. The first event was the crossing of the Red Sea.
Miriam, prophetess and sister of Moses brought together several women in song and in praise after the
children of Israel crossed the Red Sea (Exodus 15:20, 21). The second event occurs when David
brings back the arc of the covenant to Jerusalem (2 Samuel 6). Both major events showed the
significance of praise dancing in rejoicing and thankfulness for what the Lord have done, even for
your triumphs. (DavenPort). Although the times has changed, the style of liturgical dancing has
changed in some ways, but has also remained the same in other ways. There are many different
attributes that allows this form of art to be so uplifting. The types of attributes that causes this type of

Windy City Racial Profiling Is An Act Of Discrimination Essay
WINDY CITY RACIAL PROFILING 1
Windy City Racial Profiling
Edin Hodzic
Loyola University Chicago
Introduction Racial profiling is an act of discrimination committed by law enforcement officials in
which they target certain individuals with the suspicion of a crime due to their race, religion, and
culture. In racial profiling, individuals are suspected of committing a crime solely because of their
appearance, which is associated to stereotypes of their people committing crimes. I believe this is a
huge problem in Chicago because many minorities in Chicago especially those in underdeveloped
neighborhoods are affected by this. Not only is racial profiling unlawful, it goes against what our
nations constitution is supposed to protect us from. The amendments are there to protect us. Racial
profiling violates our 4th amendment right, which protects us from unreasonable searches and
seizures. I?d say that being harassed and making the assumption that someone has committed a
wrongdoing based on their physical features and background would fall under being a very
unreasonable act. My goal with this paper is to shed some light on a view from the past on how racial
profiling became an issue and how it is still an issue around the country including Chicago. This paper
will also include what I believe to be solutions to this growing issue.
Historical Perspective How long ago did racial profiling come to be? Many believe that the concept of

Disadvantages Of Corporal Punishment
We all live in a society where our actions are prolific us and may avail us various benefits but at the
same time our actions can be detrimental to the other. Our society has created certain norms and
regulations which are to be followed by each and every person is compelled to follow them in order to
avoid a state of anarchy. Punishment is used as means to reform the wrong doer into a law abiding
citizen. Punishment is the consequence of offence and the kind of punishment that is imposed on the
wrong doer depends upon the kind of society one lives in. Punishment as a means of social control

quite common in Malaysia and Singapore. Further in various Islamic countries like Sudan, Saudi

punishment was reintroduced in Pakistan by ad hoc Islamicist courts after there was suffered
breakdown of law and government in the country. Physical penalties like amputation and mutilation
are also used by some Islamic countries like Sudan and Saudi Arabia.
Countries where judicial corporal punishment is allowed
Indonesia
Although official judicial corporal punishment only exists in the Aceh province of Sumatra region it is
practiced unofficially throughout the country. Islamic law was introduced in Aceh in 2002 with the
proposal for canning errant Muslims following the same year. The first canning took place in the
region in the year 2005 . Canning can be done on both men and women alike.
Further a lot of hue and cry erupted in international media in the year 2014 when a 25 yr old woman
was sentenced to public canning for adultery. She was allegedly also gang raped by a group of vigilant
youths.

The Dutch in the Caribbean
Assess the contributions of the Dutch to the development of the Caribbean.
The incorporation of the Dutch into the Caribbean during the latter half of the 16th century and early
17th century came on the heels of them seeing the prosperous economic opportunities at the time
dominated by the Spanish. In the Caribbean, the Dutch concentrated on wrestling from Portugal its
grip on the sugar and slave trade through attacks on the Spanish treasure fleets on their homeward
bound voyages.
Though the prime and most active time for the Dutch in the Caribbean lasted for about one hundred
years, they were able to damage the monopoly the Spanish blissfully enjoyed by their; privateering
attacks this created a diversion so that the English and French ... Show more content on

According to the Dutch innovators, sugar was best grown on land that was near the coast where the
soil was naturally yellow and fertile. The sugar colonies of Barbados and Jamaica grew to become
jewels of the British Empire during the 1700s. The sugar cultivated on the plantations sweetened the
teas of Europeans in the 17th century.
Evidently, sugar needed capital which the small planters of the eastern Caribbean did not have, but the
Dutch came to the rescue by supplying credit. A Dutch merchant would put up the capital on the
security of the crop. In this way many planters started. The Dutch took over the export and sale of the
crops in return for providing the initial capital. Here we see the Dutch concocting a deal with planters
who are not entirely financially equip to sustain a sugar plantation by offering loans on credit to
planters in return the Dutch exported and sold the cultivated sugar back to Europe.
Furthermore, early sugar plantations had an extensive use of slaves because sugar was considered as a
cash crop, and it was most efficiently grown on large plantations with many workers. As a result,
slaves were imported from Africa to work on the sugar plantations, the Dutch responded to the needs
of the plantations in the Caribbean by supplying the labor that was needed following the failure of
previous labor systems used on the British and French colonies such as the use of indigenous

Concept Analysis Nursing
1. Concept has diverse and dynamic meaning. It can be described or classified in various ways. It is a
symbolic statement which describes a phenomenon that occurs in nature or thought. The meaning of
concept may be abstract such as hope, desire, love or concrete such as airplane, body temperature,
pain. Concepts are expressed in a word, two words, or a phrase that allows people to communicate
their meanings about realities. For example, grief, job satisfaction, health promoting behaviors.
Similarly, these symbolic statements can directly or indirectly be seen, tasted, smelled or touched.
Concept is important approach to build theory. Concepts are used as bricks in theory building.
Additionally, meaning and definition of concept are based ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some concepts are borrowed from other disciplines and some are developed directly within the
nursing field. The most commonly used concepts in nursing are i) abstract or concrete concepts ii)
variable or nonvariable concepts and iii) theoretically or operationally defined concepts. In my
opinion, abstract (general) concepts need to be defined more clearly for nursing. For example, spiritual
care. In nursing, this concept cannot be measured directly. Assessment of this concept is based on
indirect measurement. This concept is not observable directly or indirectly. This is independent of time
and space. This type of abstract concept does not have directly observable properties. Therefore, it
needs to be more explicitly defined.
Among different methods of concept analysis, Rodgers Process of Concept Analysis looks to be the
easiest to use. This method analyzes concept through six different steps to simplify the meanings of
word/ words or phrase and to define terms(concepts). This analysis process helps writer and readers to
understand meaning of concept and share a common language. Rodger s six steps of Process of
Concept Analysis includes:
1. Identify the concept and associated terms; 2. Select an appropriate realm (a setting or sample) for
data collection; 3. Collect data to identify the attributes of the concept and the contextual basis of the
concept; 4. Analyze the data regarding the characteristic of the concept; 5. Identify an exemplar of the
concept, if appropriate; 6. Identify hypotheses and implications for further

Essay on Johannes Kepler
Johannes Kepler was a German astronomer and mathematician who lived between 1671 1630. Kepler
was a Copernican and initially believed that planets should follow perfectly circular orbits ( Johan
Kepler 1). During this time period, Ptolemy s geocentric theory of the solar system was accepted.
Ptolemy s theory stated that Earth is at the center of the universe and stationary; closest to Earth is the
Moon, and beyond it, expanding towards the outside, are Mercury, Venus, and the Sun in a straight
line, followed by Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, and the fixed stars . The Ptolemaic system explained the
numerous observed motions of the planets as having small spherical orbits called epicycles (
Astronomy 2). Kepler is best known for introducing three ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
His first law states, The orbits of the planets are ellipses, with the Sun at one focus of the ellipse. As
shown in Figure 1, The Sun is not at the focus of the ellipse, but is instead at one focus [usually there
is nothing at the other focus of the ellipse]. The planet then trails the ellipse in its orbit, which implies
that the Earth Sun distance is continually changing as the planet goes around its orbit. Kepler s second
law states, The line joining the planet to the Sun sweeps out equal areas in equal times as the planet
travels around the ellipse. As shown in Figure 2, an imaginary line from the center of the sun to the
center of a planet sweeps out the same area in a given time. This means that planets move faster when
they are closer to the sun. Kepler s third and final law states, The time taken by a planet to make one
complete trip around the sun is its period. The ratio of the squares of periodic times for two planets is
equal to the ratio of the cubes of their mean distances from the sun. Kepler s third law indicates that
the time taken by a planet to orbit the Sun increases quickly with the radius of its orbit ( Johannes
Kepler: The 1 4). Kepler s laws challenged Aristotelean and Ptolemaic astronomy. His statement that

Open Adoption Vs Closed Adoption Essay
A closed adoption and an open adoption are very different. Children in a closed adoption do not have
any legal contact with their biological parents. As for an open adoption, children are allowed to know
and or visit their biological parents. Children in closed adoptions should have a right to know they
were adopted and know their family because these children should have a say in how they want to be
raised as well. As for children in an open adoption, they can grow up and still have a close connection
with their birth parents and relatives. Some children in a closed adoption know that they were adopted,
but they have many questions floating around in their heads on why their biological parents do not
want them or even why they gave them up for adoption. With certain open adoptions, children know
their biological parents and know the reason why they were adopted. I do not support closed adoption.
The reason why is because the parents that go through closed adoptions do not think of what their
child wants. Most of these children grow up not knowing why they were given up. These children do
not have a say in this situation, and it is not fair to them. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Department Of Human Health Services
The HHS (U.S Department of Human Health Services) was established to enhance as well as
protection for all citizens of America. They provide useful Human services and developed advances in
medicine, public health, and social services. These facilities and agency are government based with
mission to provide the public with health insurance and services. Overtime there have been a great
deal of historical highlights that shape what Human Health Services is today. Today we have
Medicare, Medicaid, and ACA, which demonstrate the time line and evolution of health insurance.
Lets go to the beginning it all started in 1798 an act of passage was provided for seamen who were ill
and disabled. This paved the way for many health discoveries, health technology, and modern day
medicines. The creation of the ACA helped drive and initiate many other different agencies and
divisions that were later established. Moreover Human Health Services provides and offers many
health programs to the citizens. Most of these programs cater to employees, disabled, and low income
families. Also the HHS is one earns highest amount in grants, it is said that they are grant making
agency in the United States.
The Human Health Service uses strategic plans and tactics to reinforce good health. Their mission and
goals are to first strengthen the health care. How they intend on doing that is that they will ensure that

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Real Time System
Advantages of Real Time Systems: When it comes to the benefits and drawbacks stage, there are
several advantages of real time systems. First of all, while using all the sources and maintaining all
devices active, real time systems helps to give maximum consumption of the systems and enable us

enable to servers to use them which are hosted in order to give maximum output of hosting

First of all, in these systems, there tasks are restricted and limited tasks are run simultaneously.
Concentration of real time systems are on several applications in order to avoid mistakes and rest of
the tasks have to wait. In addition to this drawback, sometimes it is unpredictable and there is not any
time restriction in order to show how much the waiting tasks should wait (Liu, Jane W.S., 2000).
Second disadvantage is that, a lot of resources are used by real time systems which are not adequate
and very expensive. In addition, real time systems are overpriced due to the resources that they need in
order to work. Thirdly, the real time systems run several tasks and keep focus on them. This is not a
good solution for these systems which use plenty of multi threading due to weak thread priority
(Martin, James, 1965). Fourth problem is that, real time systems use different and complex algorithms
in order to reach to the target level and desired output. The problem is that this kind of complex
algorithms are difficult for designers in order write. So, the designers have to write adequate program
for this kind of systems which is not easy. In addition, real time systems have to make clear its
interrupt signals and device drivers in order to respond quickly to interrupts. As the fifth problem, it is
observed that, there are low priority tasks which do not get enough time in order to run. The problem
is that, the real

Joseph Frank Keaton Iv Or As Everyone Had Called Him...
Joseph Frank Keaton IV or as everyone had called him Buster Keaton was an American actor, director,
producer, writer, comedian, and stunt performer. Buster Keaton was born on October 4, 1895 in Piqua,
Kansas. Here s a little fun fact on why everyone calls Joseph Frank Keaton IV, Buster Keaton. Legend
has it that when Keaton was eighteen months old he fell on a flight of stairs and there was a famous
magician that we all know and love that was there to see it and his name was Harry Houdini. After
Houdini saw Keaton fall, Houdini had said, That was a real buster! , and so that s how Keaton got his
name and that will stick to him for his whole life. So, Buster Keaton s parents Joe and Myra have been
part of the actor/performer industry for several years and just like his parents Buster would follow in
their footsteps. Buster began performing at the age of 3 and his first performance was a part of his
parent s act. While working with his parents throughout his childhood, Keaton would have some
bruises here and there but he took pride in that because he loved doing performances for the audience
and in which they found it funny, so you can say that he loved making people laugh. During these
performances Keaton, would learn to display the deadpan look that would later become a hallmark of
his comedy career. In 1917 Keaton decided to move to Hollywood because his father s drinking
problem would get in the way of the acts/performances they did. Once moving to Hollywood Keaton

Abstract
This paper will explore the role of labor unions within the Unites States. The effectiveness of Unions
and how they are important for the stability of the American economy. Unions provide many benefits
to employees due to the working relationship with management and politicians in the U.S Congress.
Some of the benefits that provided by unions are, paid vacations, pensions, an 8 hour work day with
breaks and social security benefits. Unions are continually fighting with politicians and the State
Government for better benefits. Will discuss the role of HRM s employee relations within the
organizations and what role the government should play.
Increased Role of U.S. Labor Unions In the United States unions have impacted the workforce by
creating better benefits for all works. Unions work to improve the working conditions in the
workplace by working with the organization to make sure they are following the labor laws of the
State and Federal Government. Labor unions date back to the eighteenth century and the industrial
revolution in Europe. (Union Plus, n.d.) Unions exploded in the United States around the nineteenth
century with the founding of the National Labor Union (NLU) in 1866. (Union Plus, n.d.) According

It first started when the witches meet Macbeth at the heath. One of the witches then proceeds to tell
Macbeth, All hail, Macbeth, that shalt be king hereafter! (I, iii). Completely thrown off, Macbeth asks
the witches to explain how is it possible since the King still lives with heirs to the throne. The witches

Most Important Commandments In America
There are many commandments in America. Most of them are very important and should be followed.
There is many more that should be added . The commandments can prevent a lot of things. They can
also earn you some respect . I think more should be added. One commandment is that you should
always speak when you walk into a room .It is considered rude if you walk into a room full of people
and don t speak to them . You wouldn t like it if you were sitting in a room and somebody walked in
and don t acknowledge your presence . That s why the polite thing to do is speak. That earns you more
respect from others. The second most important commandment is respect your elders . Elders isn t just

If you want respect, you first have to give it. You can t treat people any type of way and expect to be
treated like royalty. People treat you as you treat them on a daily basis .So if you want to be respected

always wrong no matter what way you try to put it as. Stealing is not only illegal, it s also a good way
to lose trust in people. You wouldn t like it if somebody stole from you so don t steal from them.
Stealing from people loses trust and respect so you should not steal from anybody at all. The fifth
commandment is if somebody sneezes , be courteous and say bless you. People usually sneeze and
expect to be told bless you afterwards. It is polite to say bless you after somebody sneezes. Most
people feel as if you care enough to say it once you say bless you to them . If you sneeze, you most
likely would want somebody to say bless you to you. Some people don t really mind whether someone
says it or not and some people do mind . Therefore , you should always say it just to be polite . There

Rappaccini s Daughter Analysis
Rappaccini s Daughter, written by Nathaniel Hawthorne, is a short story about how beauty is within
and not just physical. When Hawthorne was four years old his father was in an accident and died on
the scene, leaving his mother to raise him and his siblings alone. Thus, leading him to have respect for
all women, and it is reflected in the story. For instance, the main character Beatrice is this aesthetic,
sweet, and a naïve woman and Giovanni is just focused more on her beauty rather than anything else.
Moreover, when Giovanni first sees Beatrice in the garden, he describes her as the most beautiful
woman he s ever seen and is just blinded by her beauty. What he doesn t know is that her father,
Doctor Rappaccini, is a scientist who cares more about science more than anything else. The place
where Beatrice and Giovanni spend all their time together is in the garden, which represents loneliness
, and unfortunately one of the main characters will learn that the hard way. When Giovanni meets
Professor Baglioni, a professor of medicine who is Rappaccini s rival he helps him get Beatrice, or at
least that s what Giovanni thinks. However, what Giovanni does not know is that the love of his life
isn t who he thinks she is. Beatrice Rappaccini is the daughter of a scientist who is experimenting with
plants, and they have a beautiful garden in the backyard. She is the most beautiful woman that
Giovanni has ever seen and people around the village agree that she is beautiful, but nobody knows
the real her, they just notice her appearance. She is full of life, full of energy, and her heart is so big
and there isn t a drop of evilness in her body. For an instance, the reptile contorted itself violently, and
then lay motionless in the sunshine. Beatrice observed this remarkable phenomenon, and crossed
herself (Hawthorne 411). When people cross themselves it s because they re at a funeral, something
horrible just happened to one, or someone important to them. Beatrice and Giovanni spend all their
time together in the garden and it symbolizes a place of isolation and beauty because the flowers are
poisonous but beautiful. For example, a shrub catches his eye from the color, which is purple, and its
fragrance draws him

The electric car is not, by any means, a new concept. The electric car was first introduced in the 19th

engine came to the forefront of the transportation sector.1 Now, as oil reserves around the globe have
reached the lowest since 1973 and gas prices the world over are soaring,1 the world has turned back to
the electric car.1 The electric car was endorsed by the United States Government in 2009 as a

modern technology of many different forms of racing. Many different types of racecars are getting
faster, and in turn making them much more unsafe. Although, some may argue that as the motorsports
industry gets faster, the safety technology also gets more effective. The National Association for Stock

With over 75 million viewers, they must stay on top of safety to ensure no one is hurt on live
television or at the racetrack with families out having a great time. The sport is not about people
getting hurt, and it is time that drivers and families are able to enjoy all types of racing, including
NASCAR without the worry of fatality. Although there is not a quick and cheap fix to preventing
fatalities in racing, it is important that technology is being put to its best use to lessen the chances.
NASCAR has came a long way in safety since the death of Dale Earnhardt. Earnhardt s death was a
huge and unfortunate wake up call to track owners, families, and drivers. If they are going to race
these cars, they need to utilize the safety technology available to them. New and improved safety
technology for racing comes at a steep cost, but it is hard to put a price on life. The Peltzman effect is
a very interesting theory, which views new safety rules and regulations and how they increase dangers
in other forms. It was found after NASCAR made the HANS device a requirement after Earnhardt s
death, that cautions while racing were more common. This Peltzman effect makes people rebel and
become more dangerous because they are implementing a new safety mechanism. This could be
because they feel more safe in their racecars, or that they believe it is unfair they have to use the new

Women s Gender And Gender Roles
In terms of the heterosexual majority, respectability applied deeply to women and their gender roles as
wives, because it was the way to distinguish between good and oversexed women (Kushner 9/25/15).
The characteristics of women consisted of being pious, pure and religious, as they were the moral
superiors to men (Kushner, 9/25/15). This moral superiority linked to the idea that Cott presents of
female passionlessness, which was the result of subsequent lack of sexual aggressiveness (Cott 1987:
220). Passionlessness however was not simply a gendered characteristic it played a vital sexual as the
controlling factor over hyper sexual husbands (Cott 1978: 235). The very structure of Victorian
marriages relied on women s passionlessness because it supported women s demure and respectable
nature in society, while also keeping men under control and containing sexuality to the home
(Kushner, 9/25/15). The concept of respectability not only shaped how women and men acted in both
sexual and non sexual ways but outlined the ways proper marriages ought to function. In order to
understand the re rise to conservatism in the mid twentieth century post war America, one must
consider the influence of Sexology on society. Sexology which is the study of sexuality, behavior,
functions, and identity gained importance between the late ninetieth century and the early twentieth in
the West. During this time Sexologists like Krafft Ebbing, Kinsey, and Ulricks, studied sexual

The Knights Of The Golden Circle Analysis Many people believe they know the full story of the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln; little do they know, there is a lot more to this story. This extra information deals with a society that centered around two things, secrecy and slavery. This group was known predominantly as the Knights of the Golden Circle (KGC). The Knights of the Golden Circle was a secret organization that promoted and wanted to expand slavery and who played a part in the assassination of Abraham Lincoln. The Knights of the Golden Circle was founded on July 4, 1854 in Lexington, Kentucky. It was founded by George W. Bickley and five other men, whom he contacted and brought together (Longley). The newly founded society took the place of another organization ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Even so, there is evidence that Booth was part of the Knights. A trunk that belonged to Booth was found after Lincoln s death. In it were symbols and coded messages used by the Knights. Modern researchers have decoded these and have reported that they deal with Lincoln (Ghost Towns of the East). Along with this, Booth was known for traveling to Montreal often. Montreal was the operations center for high ranking officials of the Knights at the time (Getler). Even with all of this information, a person can only guess what was truly happening the whole time. This is due in part because of the Knights being so secrecy. Even though it is known that Booth did indeed assassinate Lincoln, it is not known why he went through with it. Was it his own anger towards losing the war? Or did the Knights assign him to do it? This may forever stay a mystery. All that can be said for sure is that Booth was a member of the Knights of the Golden Circle, and he took the life of an innocent man, changing history forever. • 4. The Causes And Effects Of Climate Change Climate Change Climate change is caused by human activity. This climate change in turn, causes hurricanes. The hurricanes will destroy the human population main resources. This will lower people into having less important resources such as: food, shelter, and water. Having less resources could lead to poverty, which is known in developing countries such as: India, Philippines, and Haiti (Weeks 56). There are also changes in the oceans that are being affected. This change occurring could lead to the ocean over flooding due to contaminating the ocean caused by humans because humans have an impact on the environment. Humanity needs to cut down the production in the coal industry because people are burning the coal; this is causing the coal to pollute the air people breath. The effects of climate change is caused by deforestation, overpopulation, burning coal, and contaminated food production. The cutting of the trees is causing deforestation, the trees are a helpful resource in the environment. According to an article by Struck states, Experts say deforestation threatens a delicate balance in which forests act as Earth s lungs: absorbing carbon dioxide the biggest contributor to climate change and expelling oxygen (29). This effect causes more of the air to become contaminated by carbon dioxide. Carbon dioxide is a harmful gas that is released into the air. The trees help keep down the carbon dioxide in the air; this releases oxygen, so people can breathe clean air. As ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Training At The Recruiting Station Essay Many people tend to think that our military branches are only comprised of limited occupations and jobs that support combat operations, but in reality, there is far more than that. For my project, I decided to observe and work with US Army Recruiting Station in Vestal, NY because recruiting stations are the first step any civilian has to take in order to serve their country. Working with the recruiting station was a great place for me to learn more about how the Army branch of the military is organized and how they complete their goals and objectives day to day. During my introduction with working at the recruiting station, I met Sergeant First Class Barriger who is Platoon sergeant and in charge of the army recruiting station. SFC Barriger told me they are part of the 1st Brigade of USAREC (United States Army Recruiting Command) which is in Fort Meade, Maryland. SFC Barriger is in charge of reporting to headquarters how many civilians the station recruited on a monthly basis. He is also responsible for getting orders from headquarters to ship out the recruits to Basic Combat Training and Advanced individual training. When I asked SFC Barriger how the station operated itself in an organizational manner, he explained how the duties in the recruiting station are set up and how everyone in his platoon shares different, essential responsibilities. By completing these various duties, a proper workflow is maintained so that civilians are more efficiently recruited and officers ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. Analysis Of The Poem The Runaway Soldier Diction The word choices often show formalness, and in fact the author often uses the bravado of older English and complex but seemingly casual words. The choice of these words probably were chosen to reflect the intelligence of the main characters and their love of English and all of its intriguing nuances, and not necessarily the wealth of them. There is imagery placed throughout the story, such as when Minor describes having to brand the runaway soldiers. Another example of imagery occurs in the middle of chapter six, the description of asylum paints it as a horrifying prison of madness, and not a place to make people get better and fix their mental problems. Language in this story is often flowery with the formal feeling it exudes. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He was, understandably, preternaturally anxious to have something useful to do, something that might occupy the weeks and months and years and decades that stretched without limit, Until Her Majesty s Pleasure be Known, before him, (Winchester 125). These two scenes have very different diction within them, which helps set the mood of the setting and the state of mind that Minor is in. In the earlier one Winchester uses words with negative connotation to them, such as paranoia, gun, illegally. These words put together give off the vibe of Minor being a dangerous madman, one that you would want to stay away from at all costs. This form of diction is often used, especially when he is plagued by his paranoid delusions such as the intruding malevolent Irishmen. The second scene from the story portrays a curiosity through Minor. This is done by the usage of words like sensitive, curious, yale, useful, anxious and occupy. Words like these could portray the image of a timid yet intelligent man with their connotations. Conclusively, one can see that the differences in connotation can paint an image upon a character and make us feel certain way about them due to how we associate with the used words. Syntax Using one of the passages already copied to exemplify diction, focus on the author s syntax choices. What effect is he creating? The sentences in this story are often complex and rather long with a high level of formality. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This means that the task must be necessary; and the person performing the delegated task, for example a HCA, must understand the task and how it is performed, have the skills and abilities to perform the task competently and accept responsibility for carrying it out One common mistakes exhibited by professionals in the field is delegation of duties by persons. Nurses should be wary of delegating duties to health care assistant because nurses should be aware of the abilities of the person with whom he or she is delegating duties. This is to minimize any chance of poor service delivery. Poor patient attendance by a person tasked with the duty at the time of delivery will extend the liability to the nurse delegating duties. Accountability of nurses is clearly pinpointed and well within the realm of law. A nurse is accountable to all the patients he or she is expected to attend to. Such accountability as underlined by common law helps promote safety of all patients. Accountability to the profession is one other important aspect that provides an ... For example, Machiavelli states in Concerning Things for Which Men, and Especially Princes, are Blamed from The Prince that ...a man who wishes to act entirely up to his professions of virtue soon meets with what destroys him among so much that is evil. Beowulf will forever be praised for his heroic deed for ...no better king had ever/ Lived, no prince so mild, no man/ So open to his people, so deserving of praise (l. 895 897). Overall, Beowulf is a better ruler than Arthur because although Arthur had remarkable morals and intentions, he was not praised nor respected like Beowulf. If there is no respect for a leader, than how can one be a good leader? Beowulf s men cherished him and believed in him. They had his back for every choice he made. After Arthur decided to not accuse his wife of treason, some of his men betrayed and left him. Also, Beowulf had no gluttony and did not desire any gold or riches. He was generous and gave all to his people. For example, Beowulf admirably states, I sold my life/ For this treasure and I sold it well (l. 809 810). His relief upon seeing the treasure demonstrates his desire to leave something to his citizens. Beowulf made the Danes a peaceful people once again, making him one of their greatest kings and heroes. While Arthur had charismatic qualities and benevolent morals, Beowulf, in a modern society, would be most likeable because he was a more sufficient leader. Every hero desires to be remembered for more than one heroic inclination. To protect mankind from evil, to use his powers to rescue his family and friends from evil circumstances, and to earn immortality through his heroic tendencies are three important propensities. David Suzuki Diversity Is Strength Pluralistic superiority is a pervasive concept existing in a significant portion of the Westernized world, enforcing the notion that multi cultural, multi ethnic, and multi national ideologies are inextricably related with societal and economic progress, exemplified by the myopic and unsubstantiated quotation Diversity is Strength from the current incumbent of Canada s position of prime minister. The fundamental issue with this perspective is its inability to properly process anterior information related to alternate states, and the orthodox prerequisites involved in the ascension of relevant nation states by creating such an axiomatic statement which purportedly embodies the quixotic goals of a state. An intrinsic issue related to David Suzuki s postulation that diversity of all variants is useful to the perpetuation of the is his intentional disregard for the biological notion of conflict within ecosystems, specifically pertaining to invasive species and the ecosystems (and entities inhabiting the ecosystem) which are the recipients of said invasion; if a species is relocated to an ecosystem and possesses traits which fundamentally do not align with the synergistic and symbiotic nature of the ecosystem , there exists a ubiquitous consequence for the denizens who are accustomed to the relatively static nature of their environment. The socio cultural correlation, related to the biological notion of ecosystem equilibrium, is the introduction of individuals who possess fundamental disagreements with the predominant ethical and moral perspectives of the majority of inhabitants; this, historically, results in the amplifications of tension between the two groups (primary inhabitants and incompatibly invasive) and the inexorable suppression (this has a propensity to manifest in both active and passive assimilation or the relocation of the minority into a specific region) of the incompatibly invasive or the disintegration of the primary inhabitants social structure . Present within both a biological and socio cultural structure is compatibility within an ecosystem, and operating within the confines of such permits a higher degree of success when approaching multi culturalism, but attempting to implement the unrestricted proliferation of any species or culture within an environment, as proselytized by David Suzuki, is not functional. During this time, men were given more opportunities as compared to women in virtually every field and this led to the second wave of the feminist movement. The job market viewed women as the less productive species. One of the reasons why this notion was upheld was because the women needed time off when they delivered and most employers believed the assertion that women would quit their job when they got pregnant. They have used this method of sterilization to help control their populations, help grow their economies, and for their beliefs or laws within their countries. As for the United States, we have depicted our country as the land of the free. Our nation was founded on the premise that all human beings are created equal, stated Philip Roos, author of Psychological Impact of Sterilization on the Individual, and possess inalienable rights (45). However, some people would disagree because of how our country has changed since it has become a country. People do not have the freedom in which some believe we should have. In addition, we have advanced beyond most other countries when it comes to opportunities for our people. According to the authors of Federally Funded Sterilization: Time to Rethink Policy, Sonya Borrero, Nikki Zite, and Mitchell D. Despite the relatively high utilization of sterilization in the United States, there is considerable evidence that there is an unmet demand for the procedure among some segments of the United States population. After safety, everyone involved in any sort of airport operations, works on increasing efficiency in order to avoid delays and having to spend additional money. As the airports operations increase, the people in charge will have to come up with solutions to avoid setbacks. Airport planners have to come up with ideas in order to improve airport facilities and increase the efficiency of the flow. The challenges that come with this type of projects is that sometimes the airports don t have much room for improvement within the airport and don t have room to expand due to surrounding neighborhoods. This is where they have to find the right balance for capacity and delay. To solve this problem first they have to find the hitch and then focus on working on that specific area. For example, it can be a specific terminal, runways, taxiways, or not enough gates. Other alternatives to the matter can be working on distributing the traffic through the off peak times, or to start using other areas to within the airport to decrease the traffic at one specific area. First, this study is based on the assumption that while the use supplemental progesterone in early pregnancy has not proven to be statistically significant in the prevention of miscarriage; benefits have been shown to its use. I would want to perform a meta analysis of the data to ensure that the efforts of this study are not misguided using this assumption. Bradford Assay On Unknown Concentrations Of Proteins Bradford Assay on Unknown Concentrations of Proteins Taylor Coleman September 27, 2016 Lab Group 3 BIOL 1111: General Biology Lab Fall 2015 Section 107 Chad Perry Abstract Colorimetric assay is a process of determining a concentration of a solution based on absorbance of light. The purpose of this lab is to determine if the Bradford assay is an accurate way to determine an unknown concentration of two samples of protein. The Bradford assay is done by measuring wavelength of light passing through a cuvette filled with Bradford dye and concentrations of PBS and proteins. After the cuvettes are mixed they are placed into a spectrophotometer to measure wavelength. The wavelength given will be used to plot a standard curve based on concentration (x axis) and wavelength (y axis). The standard curve is then used to measure an educated guess on the concentrations of unknown protein concentrations. We hypothesized that if we use the Bradford assay and colorimetric spectrophotometry we can determine an accurate concentration of two unknown concentrations of proteins. The results of this lab failed to reject our hypothesis based on accurate measurements of protein concentrations. The standard curves are drawn with a linear increasing slope. FOWLER RESEARCH PAPER Liturgical Dance (Ancient Times to the Modern Times) In the world that we live in today there are many things that has been passed down from year to year. In the years such as 1400 and 1440 B.C. dancing in which we refer to now as liturgical dancing was first introduced. Liturgical dance has as its purpose the deepening and focusing of the worship experience; it is not merely ornamental or decorative. (Branigan). Liturgical dance is a very uplifting form of art; starting from the biblical times and even up until now. The history of liturgical dance begins in the Bible. The Bible doesn t mention much about dance. But, it does mention dances of celebration during two important historical events. The first event was the crossing of the Red Sea. Miriam, prophetess and sister of Moses brought together several women in song and in praise after the children of Israel crossed the Red Sea (Exodus 15:20, 21). The second event occurs when David brings back the arc of the covenant to Jerusalem (2 Samuel 6). Both major events showed the significance of praise dancing in rejoicing and thankfulness for what the Lord have done, even for your triumphs. (DavenPort). Although the times has changed, the style of liturgical dancing has changed in some ways, but has also remained the same in other ways. There are many different attributes that allows this form of art to be so uplifting. The types of attributes that causes this type of dance ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Windy City Racial Profiling Is An Act Of Discrimination Essay WINDY CITY RACIAL PROFILING 1 Windy City Racial Profiling Edin Hodzic Loyola University Chicago Introduction Racial profiling is an act of discrimination committed by law enforcement officials in which they target certain individuals with the suspicion of a crime due to their race, religion, and culture. In racial profiling, individuals are suspected of committing a crime solely because of their appearance, which is associated to stereotypes of their people committing crimes. I believe this is a huge problem in Chicago because many minorities in Chicago especially those in underdeveloped neighborhoods are affected by this. Not only is racial profiling unlawful, it goes against what our nations constitution is supposed to protect us from. The amendments are there to protect us. Racial profiling violates our 4th amendment right, which protects us from unreasonable searches and seizures. I?d say that being harassed and making the assumption that someone has committed a wrongdoing based on their physical features and background would fall under being a very unreasonable act. The planet then trails the ellipse in its orbit, which implies that the Earth Sun distance is continually changing as the planet goes around its orbit. Kepler s second law states, The line joining the planet to the Sun sweeps out equal areas in equal times as the planet travels around the ellipse. As shown in Figure 2, an imaginary line from the center of the sun to the center of a planet sweeps out the same area in a given time. This means that planets move faster when they are closer to the sun. Kepler s third and final law states, The time taken by a planet to make one complete trip around the sun is its period. First of all, in these systems, there tasks are restricted and limited tasks are run simultaneously. Concentration of real time systems are on several applications in order to avoid mistakes and rest of the tasks have to wait. In addition to this drawback, sometimes it is unpredictable and there is not any time restriction in order to show how much the waiting tasks should wait (Liu, Jane W.S., 2000). Second disadvantage is that, a lot of resources are used by real time systems which are not adequate and very expensive. In addition, real time systems are overpriced due to the resources that they need in order to work. Thirdly, the real time systems run several tasks and keep focus on them. This is not a good solution for these systems which use plenty of multi threading due to weak thread priority (Martin, James, 1965). Fourth problem is that, real time systems use different and complex algorithms in order to reach to the target level and desired output. The problem is that this kind of complex algorithms are difficult for designers in order write. So, the designers have to write adequate program for this kind of systems which is not easy. In addition, real time systems have to make clear its interrupt signals and device drivers in order to respond quickly to interrupts. As the fifth problem, it is observed that, there are low priority tasks which do not get enough time in order to run. The problem is that, the real ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

During these performances Keaton, would learn to display the deadpan look that would later become a hallmark of his comedy career. The electric car was first introduced in the 19th century, but as oil was more plentiful and much cheaper than electricity, the internal combustion engine came to the forefront of the transportation sector.1 Now, as oil reserves around the globe have reached the lowest since 1973 and gas prices the world over are soaring,1 the world has turned back to the electric car.1 The electric car was endorsed by the United States Government in 2009 as a promising alternative to petroleum in the transportation sector , and 2.1 billion dollars has been allocated to subsidies for battery and component manufacturers.3 Despite ... Although there is not a quick and cheap fix to preventing fatalities in racing, it is important that technology is being put to its best use to lessen the chances. It was found after NASCAR made the HANS device a requirement after Earnhardt s death, that cautions while racing were more common. Women s Gender And Gender Roles In terms of the heterosexual majority, respectability applied deeply to women and their gender roles as wives, because it was the way to distinguish between good and oversexed women (Kushner 9/25/15). The characteristics of women consisted of being pious, pure and religious, as they were the moral superiors to men (Kushner, 9/25/15). This moral superiority linked to the idea that Cott presents of female passionlessness, which was the result of subsequent lack of sexual aggressiveness (Cott 1987: 220). Passionlessness however was not simply a gendered characteristic it played a vital sexual as the controlling factor over hyper sexual husbands (Cott 1978: 235). The very structure of Victorian marriages relied on women s passionlessness because it supported women s demure and respectable nature in society, while also keeping men under control and containing sexuality to the home (Kushner, 9/25/15). The concept of respectability not only shaped how women and men acted in both sexual and non sexual ways but outlined the ways proper marriages ought to function. In order to understand the re rise to conservatism in the mid twentieth century post war America, one must consider the influence of Sexology on society.
