War On The War Of Art
War in Art Introduction Everybody thinks they know what art should be. But very few of them have
the sense that is necessary to experience painting, that is the sense of sight, that sees colors and forms
as living reality in the picture. Otto Dix (Mulch, page 1) War in art. It was not an easy job and yet to
this day has not gotten easier. There are two different sides when it comes to war art. On one side, the
artists are going out onto the battlefield during the horrifying war so that they can portray the events
going on during the war. Going out onto a battlefield, in the middle of a war, camping out in trenches
to illustrate the events going on during the war. On the other hand, it is a chance to view different
point of views going on during the war and was a good way to portray the events going on during the
war and the aftermath of the war as well. Historical Content War art, believe it or not, has been going
on for more than 2800 years now and counting. People from BCE have been finding ways to portray
war art and people today are still finding ways to portray war art. The history of war art expands back
to wars in B.C.E. War art from B.C.E was portrayed by rock engravings, cupules, painting on walls,
pottery and many other ways. The art from B.C.E was a way to show others how the warriors fight
during the war just like how modern day war art is created. In 246 BCE to 208 BCE, the era of Roman
art commenced which was inveigled by Hellenistic (Greek) painting

Simon Bolivar Essay examples
Throughout Latin American History there have been several important leaders, but one leader in
particular changed Latin American history forever. This particularly important early nineteenth
century leader was named Simón Bolívar. Simón Bolívar as a leader stood out from all the other
leaders, because he played a crucial role in Latin American Independence. He was a revolutionary, an
intellectual, and a visionary man that made Latin American independence successful during the
nineteenth century.
Simón Bolívar was said to be a revolutionary during the period of the early nineteenth century because
he wanted to change Latin America. His goal was to promote change and gain independence for the
Latin American states from Spanish rule, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This exposure to new ideas played a crucially important role in the independence movement for Latin
America, in that Simón used these ideas he was taught to influence the people of his country. Without
Simón Bolívar s avocation of these enlightment ideas to the people of Latin America, independence
for these states may not have been possible. Since Simón Bolívar could be seen as responsible of the
one advocating how important it is for citizens to fight for their rights and freedoms, and these ideas
where the reason that ignited the movement towards independence. During the nineteenth century,
many people needed some kind of guidance about how they should act and think in regards to being
inferior to Spanish rule that had a hold on their country like Latin America experienced throughout
Spanish colonial rule. Simón Bolívar and his enlightment ideas were just what the citizens needed in
leading them towards independence, since it seemed like they were lost without his guidance. Perhaps
Simón Bolívar was just the right intellectual at the right time, since it seemed that people during this
time needed someone to guide or speak for them, and that they ultimately couldn t think or act for
themselves so Simón guided them. It was said that Simón Bolívar was considered an intellectual and
that people followed his ideas and visions because his campaigns were so

Walden, By Henry David Thoreau
The majority of Henry David Thoreau s Walden, concerns the idea of opting out of society. In his
chapter Solitude Thoreau describes how [his] horizon bounded by woods all to [himself] (111) is
beautiful and belongs solely to him. As he is enjoying nature Thoreau states, There can be no very
black melancholy to him who lives in the midst of Nature (111). Thoreau s theme of being alone and
appreciating nature is found throughout his book to such an extent that one can conclude that he
believes the best way to live is without society. Thoreau cannot stand to pay his taxes because he
refuses to, recognize the authority of, the state which buys and sells men, women, and children (145).

People love to have the newest toys, and put great stock in the newest fashion trends. In present day
society, new technology or clothes symbolize status and wealth that separates the social classes of
people. Thoreau shows his readers that this form of separation has existed since the eighteen hundreds.
Thoreau comments on how people would often throw out perfectly good clothes, because of one little
hole, because people are judged by their clothes (20). This upsets Thoreau because to him, a little bit
of damage does not mean something is useless or broken. He believes that people should just patch the
hole, since it is more cost effective and will increase the duration of the articles lifetime. However,
more commonly the piece of clothing is thrown out to be replaced by a new article. In Thoreau s eyes,
people follow such a practice because, Our outside and often thin and fanciful clothes are our
epidermis or false skin (21). Thoreau s dislike of society stems from the fact that people [Donn]
garment after garment (21), taking too much pride in their outward appearance. The idea that the value
of a person s life is dictated by their possessions is one reason why Thoreau believes that society
serves to corrupt and infect everyone who is a part of it. Society refuses to live by necessity alone, but
rather focuses on the accumulation of

Growth Mindset Research Paper
Brainology
Fixed mindset, growth mindset, praise effort and praise for intelligence with impact and my
experience about them with specific examples
Mindsets are beliefs which people hold on their most basic abilities and qualities. In the growth
mindset, individuals believe that they can develop their talents, brain, and skills. This creates an
environment for learning, resilience and a drive for growth. On the other hand, people believe in a
fixed mindset that primary qualities like abilities and intelligence are fixed and cannot be developed. It
also believes that talents create success alone, and it does not take effort as the strategy needed to
maximize one s potential rather than a sign of weakness. For example, transforming motivation ...

Teaching individuals to develop growth mindset will encourage the process and not on talent or
intelligence. Teachers and parents can make children develop growth mindset by praising their
strategies and persistence, by giving them stories that emphasize on effort and the Importance of
learning, and teaching the students that a brain is a learning tool or machine (Gupta, et al., 2012). The
society is currently worshipping talent and individuals assume that having the ability or superior
intelligence with confidence is one way of succeeding. Overemphasis on talent or intelligence leaves
students prone to failure, afraid of challenges and they are not ready to accept their shortcomings
(Taylor, et al., 2014). Praising innate abilities of children, reinforce fixed mindset, which can prevent
people in workforces or young athletics and even the married people to live up to their potential. By
teaching students to have the growth mindset encourages them to use their personal effort and come
up with effective strategies and not talent or intelligence which will help them to achieve highly in life
and even in school. As theories suggest, students who have growth mindset believes that learning is
the crucial goal than performing well in school with good grades. Hard work is highly regarded,
believing that if you labor on something, it will lead to perfection. Even the geniuses have to put

Petroleum as Vital to Human Existence as Water From the development of the Industrial Revolution to
the Information Age we live in today our civilization has been able to progress with the help of the
Industrial Revolution s basic necessity known as petroleum. This resource is so valuable that it has
been the reason of 6 global conflicts and the creation of a trillion dollar industry. James Buchan a

In order to keep up with demand, the United States has been forced to rely on importing 80% of its
crude oil. This niche was filled from the creation of OPEC who uses price gouges to create an
economic boom in their country, through unifying and controlling the industry. This economic boom
produced by OPEC amounts to an annual 730 billion (U.S.) dollars. In order to fully understand the
magnitude of power this organization has, we can compare their annual income to every country s
GDP. After doing this we notice that OPEC would be the 20th wealthiest nation trumping 167
countries in the process. This fact is mind boggling because when we talk about GDP we are talking
about the value of all the finished goods and services produced within a country. When we talk about
OPEC we are talking about a single product which is crude oil. This is worrisome for many reasons,
first and foremost being that countries who are not members of the organization don t want one
organization controlling and monopolizing such a valuable resource.
The effects of monopolizing a single product is the power of setting a single price that everyone else
needs to follow. This is why America and other non OPEC countries deal with gouging oil prices. The
reasoning for OPEC doing this is clear from ridiculous profit margins to political influence. The power
that OPEC holds was never more prevalent than in the 1973 embargo on the U.S. and European
nations over the Arab Israeli War. The

Josephine Baker was born Freda Josephine MacDonald in St. Louis, Missouri to her unwed parents:
Carrie McDonald and Eddie Carson. Her father soon left the family and Josephine had to help her
mother support herself and her three younger half siblings. At age eight, she got a job working as a
maid for a white family (Robinson). At age 12, she had dropped out of school to work. By age 14, she
had moved out, been married, and separated from her first husband. She would later go onto marry
and divorce three more men. Never was she financially dependent on any man, including her

In 1936, Josephine attempted a return to the United States to star in the Ziegfield Follies. Due to the
still prevalent racism in the United States, she was greeted with negative reviews. Americans were not
yet ready to embrace a black woman as sophisticated and powerful, despite her success in Europe
(About).
Just a few years later, World War II spread across Europe. Josephine helped out France in every way
she could: performing for troops, being an honorable correspondent for the French Resistance
(smuggling secret messages), and serving as a sub lieutenant in the Women s Auxiliary Air Force
(About). For her efforts, she was later awarded the Medal of the Resistance with Rosette and dubbed a
Chevalier of the Legion of Honor by the French government.
In the 50s and 60s, Josephine returned to the United States to help fight racism. She refused to
perform in any club or theatre that was not integrated (Lewis). This resulted in the breaking of the
color bar in many establishments, especially in Las Vegas. May 20 was named Josephine Baker day
by the NAACP for her efforts. Part of her fight against racism came in the form of the Rainbow Tribe.
She adopted 12 children to demonstrate that children of different ethnicities and religions could still be
brothers (About). The children would sometimes

The Use of Symbolism in Margaret Laurence s Stone Angel
The statue of the stone angel is symbolic of the Currie family pride, Hagar s inability to relate and

from another point of view other than your own.
The Stone angel is symbolic of the Currie family pride because it does not seem to serve it s purpose,
which is to honour Hagar s mother who had died giving birth to her. Hagar describes Mrs. Currie to be
a meek woman and a feeble ghost , whereas she describes herself to be stubborn and practical . The

at the risk of being thought of as soft and as a result she misses out on a lot of potentially great
relationships. At a very young age, her pride prevents her from comforting her dying brother: But all i

When Bram s horse died, she had a hard time trying to find something soothing to say or do because
she always had a stone wall built up between them.

Watergate Of The Watergate Scandal
Watergate Scandal The Watergate Scandal happened almost 43 years ago; the event will never be
forgotten. The Watergate scandal defined, perhaps for the first time, that a president of the United
States could be portrayed as untrustworthy. Richard Nixon ran for a second term in 1972, in which he
won by a huge margin. The Democratic Party had their headquarters at the high end Watergate hotel.
The break in happened on June 17th, 1972, in which a security guard noticed the tape on the door
lock. Five men were found in the office and were arrested for burglary. It seemed like a mission to spy
on the Democratic Party since some of Nixon s assistants were involved in the case.
November 5th, 1968: Richard Nixon was elected the 37th president. In 1971, in the response to the

An American Summer is a movie that retells the story of the classic Adventures of Tom
Sawyer remixed into a 1970 s Southern California setting in order to explore new themes and ideas. In
this modernized setting, the story diverges from the original plot, while highlighting similar elements
as the original novel.
In An American Summer, the characters are meant to be reflective of their Tom Sawyer counterparts in
namesake only, and the adaption does not follow the nuance and elements of characters that played an
important role in developing the story, themes, and ideas of the original. In Tom Sawyer, Tom is

Initially, Tom is uncomfortable in his new setting of California. His parents are divorcing, and he
wishes he could be back in Chicago with his friends. However, as Tom makes new friends in
California and has new experiences with him, he wishes to stay there and doesn t want to leave.

Gold and Its Demand
Running Head: Gold and Its Demand Gold and Its Demand In the year 2008, the prices of gold fell
down to $9oo from $1,035. This was a drastic downfall in the price of gold in 2008 and this has
directly affected investors in a number of ways. The investors suffered losses of large margin and in
addition to this, many of the investors had paid from ten to fifty percent of the deposits of their shares
and when a downfall occurred in the prices of gold, many of the investors lost almost whole amount of
their capital. Beside this, the fall in the prices of gold was less as compared to other equities and
commodities (Bohm, 2011, pg 34 39). The year 2008 changed the shape of competition among the
gold investors and the main characteristic of this year was the failure of government in the banking
industry. The entire economy was suffered in this year and in this year of deflation; the affect on gold
was a decrease in price. Gold prices fall to $690, then came back to $800 but then once again fall
down due to poor financial conditions. The value of $ which was less at the start of 2008, started to
increase during the mid of the year and the economy was becoming better but again at the end of the
same year, the value of $ began to decrease and this had a direct impact on the prices of gold. In

Court Observation Paper The court I attended was the court # 184, on October 25th 2015 at Harris
County Criminal Justice Court , located in downtown of Houston city. The Judge in charge was Jan
Krocker. It was an aggravated sexual assault of child case between The State of Texas vs. Samuel
Gallegos. As I entered the court, the trial has already commenced so I did not really know how a real
trial started. I sat in the back where the public sits, facing the judge bench. The courtroom was cold
and quiet. Especially it was very small, much smaller and less impressive than I expected.. Everyone
was in formal dressing code. There were just a few number of spectators and family members in the
court room. There was a clerk who was typing everything what was happening during the court time.
Judge Krocker appeared to have things under control and had the proceedings moving forward
smoothly. She was a very friendly lady with short blonde hair. She was listening attentively. She spoke
clearly and distinctly so that everyone in the courtroom could hear. Samuel Gallegos is a white man
about 5 8 tall. He looked quite nervous while some police officers were standing behind him. From
what I understood, this case was really happening back in 2014 and the suspect has criminal history
relating to assault of child and another related case to this case. On my left hand side were the bailiffs

External Stakeholders Of Tesco PLC And RSPCA
External Stakeholders of Tesco PLC and RSPCA External stakeholders are stakeholders who are not
as involved within Tesco PLC and RSPCA as much as the internal stakeholders but are involved in
some way. Suppliers of Tesco PLC The suppliers of Tesco PLC are interested in the level of
customers. As the suppliers will be able to sell more stock such as food to cover the number of
customers at Tesco PLC. Therefore, there will be more awareness for the supplier so more work can
come to the suppliers. Meaning that the supplier will earn more revenue from being more well known
due to supplying stock to a business as big as Tesco PLC. The suppliers would also be interested in
maintaining relationships with Tesco PLC and to have the best interest deal. And finally, to be paid on
time so then the suppliers will trust Tesco PLC on future orders. A supplier at Tesco PLC may have
conflicts with other suppliers over sales. For example, other suppliers may sell similar stock such as
food for similar prices. This is a conflict because the suppliers at Tesco PLC can lose out on orders
which will mean less revenue for the suppliers. Another conflict may be with the managers on
incorrect orders or deliveries. For example, being delivered the wrong sort of stock. This is a conflict
because the suppliers providing a different stock will mean that Tesco PLC will have to return them
and wait for the correct stock. Meaning Tesco PLC will miss out on profit and more sales. Also, if the

How Cram Changed My Life Essay
What happened next changed his life. The first thing Cram noticed, true to himself, was the
architecture. Overall, he was unimpressed with the style, which he never came to appreciate. For about
thirty minutes, Cram battled boredom, until the service started. He described the experience in his own
words:
Then, in their white and gold vestments, the sacred ministers came silently to the high altar, attended
by crucifers, thurifers and acolytes, and stood silently waiting. Suddenly came the bells striking the
hour of midnight, and with the last clang the great organs and the choir burst into a melodious thunder
of sound; the incense rose in clouds, filling the church with a veil of pale smoke; and the Mass
proceeded to its climax with the offering of the Holy Sacrifice of the Body and Blood of Christ. I did
not understand all of this with my mind, but I understood.
After a life growing up in the home of a pastor, studying art, and designing architecture, Cram s

An Analysis of the Boat Scene in Gustave Flaubert s Madame Bovary
As Gustave Flaubert wrote the novel Madame Bovary, he took special care to examine the relationship
between literature and the effect on its readers. His heroine Emma absorbs poetry and novels as
though they were instructions for her emotional behavior. When her mother dies, she looks to poetry
to decide what degree of mourning is adequate; when she becomes adulterous she thinks immediately

She sings, while rowing with her lover, One night, do you remember / We were sailingÖ (186). These
lines, though they seem appropriate in the moment, barely scratch the surface of the poem s meaning.
Lamartine wrote Le Lac about Madame Julie Charles, a woman that he took with him one summer to
vacation at the Lake Bourget. Lemartine fell passionately in love with Mme Charles. However, the
following winter Charles fell ill and passed away, never to return to the lake. The poem discusses the
happy memories of the summer, but that is not its primary purpose. Mme Charles death forces
Lamartine to recognize the constant and continual passing of time, a theme that is very present in Le
Lac . More specifically, Lamartine discusses the inevitable end of happy moments, such as the ones he
shared with Charles. He begs time to Suspendez votre course! / Laissez nous savourerer les rapides
delices / de plus beaux des nos jours! (31 31). Throughout Le Lac, the death of Mme Charles is always
forefront. It is her death that inspires the poet to revisit the lake, and it is her death that causes the
realization of the passing of time. Although her actual death is only briefly referenced at the beginning
of the poem when Lamartine comments on des flots cheris qu elle devait / revoir (7 8), the idea of
death remains present throughout the entire work. It is Mme Charles passing that spurs

World War II
According to (Television History The First 75 Years), World War II halted nearly all television
broadcasting worldwide. There are some notable exceptions which will be covered here in this special
section.
The time period after World War II is considered the last and final birth of television. Families had
accumulated savings during the war years to purchase homes, cars and other luxuries denied them
during the war. Television sets were soon added to the must have list. The explosion of sets into the
American marketplace occurred in 1948 1949. A few years later, the post war sales boom for England
followed. (Television History The First 75 Years)
During this period was an exciting and flower time period for television. In the USA, B W television
exploded onto the scene at the beginning of the decade, mid decade saw electronic color television and
remote controls launched, and at the end of the decade the public witnessed some interesting styling
changes and the introduction of transistorized television. The child was becoming an adolescent.

Plant Pollinators
Plants and Pollinators To begin, let me ask you something, what would it feel like not to have flowers
or colorful fruits surrounding you or if they were never there in the first place. Well we should thank
our amazing pollinators as such as the bee, hummingbird, e.t.c. We sometimes don t realize how
important they are to us and that we take them for granted. Pollinators play a hard working role in the
ecosystem and are extremely important. The reason they are such an important factor to this world is
because pollinators are the ones that create and maintain new habitats for our ecosystems. These
pollinators are also held responsible for helping the plants grow our amazing fruits that we have today.
Since from this help from pollinators, fruits and other flowers that are pollinated can turn into world
needs and help out the world in many ways. It is said that more than 1,200 types of plants are grown
around the world for food,, medicines, spices, or even condiments. Of these, about 75% are pollinated
by animals. More than one of every three bites of food we eat or beverages we drink are directly
because of pollinators. Indirectly, pollinators ultimately play a role in the majority of what we eat and
consume. You can also make a positive difference near or around your household. So next you think
of bees or hummingbirds just know that those animals are the ones that make this world better. Plant
pollinators are amazing to this world and help every plant out there.. But

The Problems Of American Schools Essay
Andrew R. Deras Dr. Jide Osikomaiya English 100 8 September 2016 The Most Compelling Problems
In American Schools As we delve back into a new year for students and teachers alike returning to
school to continue with the daily life of academics and learning, we all must be understanding of what
exactly we are sending our peers and children back to. It should be no surprise to most of us that
throughout the years we have seen countless upon countless examples from the news and through
others, that our school system is flawed in some way, shape or form. It is no longer a coincidence that
our students are only achieving 36th from the top in all total curriculum (Arnett). This is also evident
to anyone who may happen to own a T.V. and has been a viewer to these numerous articles describing
these horrible issues we have within schools firsthand (ABC News). Not only that, but schooling can
also be further compromised by politics and law related issues (Ravitch). What my goal for the essay I
am submitting to you is; to give my opinions on the current situation of public schooling in America,
discuss the issues, and back my points I will be presenting, with concrete evidence I have uncovered
in my research. I would like to make it clear that my stance on the current situation is that there is not
only a singular problem with public education, but a number of issues that inhibit students to learn
properly and function as productive members of society. An excellent place to start would

How To Prevent Gun Shootings Essay
Guns and Firearms The Orlando attack was by far the deadliest shooting in U.S. history (49 killed),
and it is not even 10 years removed from the 2007 Virginia Tech massacre (32 killed), and the 2012
Sandy Hook shooting (27 killed) (Willingham). The Orlando, Virginia Tech, and Sandy Hook
shootings were some of the worst memories America has to offer. Mass shootings have taken place
across the U.S. for many years. The United States is still facing too many conflicts involving
shootings; these issues could be resolved by the creation of a specific institute made to prevent
shootings from occurring and an increase in laws being placed on guns. America s gun homicide rate

If more laws were to be created in order to strictly modify the aspects of guns and their accessibility, it
may reduce the amount of people attempting to even gain access to one. Although, people may
continue to be inclined on breaking certain laws placed on guns and firearms. A Federal Political
Committee, PAC, concurred that, Congress should work to make gun trafficking a federal crime and
ensure enhanced penalties for kingpin gun traffickers, corrupt gun dealers and straw purchasers
(SOLUTIONS). Destroying gun trafficking might reduce the amount of organized crime occurring in
America. To continue, the Prevention Institute brought up an idea, We must insist that assault weapons
have no place beyond the battlefield not in our schools, not in our movie theaters, not in our places of

willing to break laws placed on guns, the enforcement of an increased number of laws laid on America
may be enough to reduce the amount of shootings the

Raising Minimum Wage
The minimum wage for workers should be increased. First of all, raising the minimum wage would
reduce the amount of people who are in poverty. Moreover, raising the minimum wage would lead to
less premature deaths and allow many people to live healthier lives. Finally, raising the minimum
wage would reduce the amount of crime the occurs. Let s take a look at some proof.
If the minimum wage is increased for workers then there would be a decrease in the amount of people
who are in poverty and allow them to afford their basic essentials for their everyday life.. According to
the article Should the Minimum Wage be Increased? it says According to a 2014 Government related
Budget Office report, increasing the minimum wage to $9 would lift 300,000 people out of poorness,
and an increase to $10.10 would lift 900,000 people out of poorness. To begin, by increasing workers
pay it would lift an amount of people out of poverty, allowing them to provide for their families and
buying foods that would be needed to live an everyday normal life. It would allow adults that are
starting off their life to afford their everyday essentials such as food and clothing to wear. The article

Revenge In Hamlet
Hamlet is one of the most influential and time withstanding plays of all time. Created by William
Shakespeare, Hamlet dabbles with the concepts of deceit, revenge, and death. Hamlet, the protagonist
in Hamlet, is confronted with the challenge of taking part in revenge for his father s death, but he often
finds himself lacking in taking action. Friedrich Nietzsche, a German philosopher, accounts this lack
of action for something far deeper than what lies on the surface. He construes that Hamlet is burdened
with the knowledge that death triumphs over all being. What kills Hamlet s action is knowing that
what lies in everyone s path is death and that since we all die there is no point in correcting your
earthly state, in Hamlet s case: getting revenge. This explanation for Hamlet s delay, however, is not
fully represented throughout the play. Hamlet has his bouts of hope and prevalently believes in taking
revenge. However, it s in his subconscious that Nietzsche s statement holds true. Hamlet, fueled by his
cynicism, slowly finds himself falling deeper into this state of depression throughout the play. The
farther he falls down this rabbit hole, the clearer his understandings shine through from the beginning
of the play. Hamlet s mind is clouded with grief when he is first introduced. He likens everything of
this earth as weary, stale, flat, and unprofitable (I.ii.132), as if the mere thought of being on this earth
is useless. Hamlet from the get go, in his

CHAPTER1
INTRODUCTION
BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY
The aim of the dissertation is to research the diplomatic negotiating style of the Filipino law
enforcement by analyzing the events in its diplomatic history, namely the bilateral negotiations with
the Philippines during august 23, 2010.
For the past few days since the embarrassing hostage crisis that has brought international shame again
to our country, it has been reflecting on how we as a Filipino people can collectively move forward
from this incident. In cyberspace, many people continue to express anger, rage, disappointment,
frustration and sadness about how our government particularly the Philippine National Police (PNP) ...

Believe that majority of our police force are good and well meaning Filipino public servants who went
into the service to help our country. If the political leaders for the past 5 years only used our funds
properly instead of putting it in their own pockets then that would have been able to develop an elite
police force that would be able to handle any type of crisis situation in a very effective manner.
Making no excuses for the Aquino administration because like said, they should ve been in full control
the moment the hostage crisis started but in reality they are also inheriting a poorly trained and
equipped PNP from the previous administration. Don t forget that Aquino has been in power for barely
two months while Robredo was just appointed as DILG chief in the middle of July. It is with this
reason that really appalled by the way two very staunch supporters of former President Gloria
Macapagal Arroyo, Senator Miguel Zubiri and Albay s Rep. Edcel Lagman, are now trying their

they want to help our country and improve our image in the international community, then perhaps
they can begin by probing and supporting an investigation on all the anomalies and corruption that
happened during their boss term.
Now, what can do to finally move forward? The greater challenge for us Filipinos is to understand

The Assassination Of John Wilkes Booth Summary
The central idea of The Life, Crime, and Capture of John Wilkes Booth revolves around the
assassination of the President. There is some foreshadowing in the part when we see Mr. Booth
entered the President s box. The lines, The servant who attended Mr. Lincoln said politely, this is the
President s box, sir, no one is permitted to enter. I am a senator, responded the person, Mr. Lincoln has
sent for me. The attendant moved to the side, and the young man passed into the box this action makes
one suspect that a wrongfully done deed is soon going to take place as there was no mention of a
senator earlier. This man was obviously lying and up to something. The author also built up
anticipation through the lines, As he appeared at the door, taking a quick, comprehensive glance at the

forth simultaneously his deadly weapons. His right palm grasped a Derringer pistol, his left a dirk.

Bush Administration Effects On Women s Rights
Bush Administration s Affects on Women s Rights Gender equality, especially in regards to women s
rights, is a primary concern of many for the upcoming election. Throughout American history women
have always faced an inferior placement in American policies. Even though recently liberal ideals
have been placed to ensure more rights for women, such issues still plague society. For example, in
America, statistically, a woman makes seventy seven cents for every dollar a man earns. To gain

The following offers an analysis of both sides of this subject as well as an analysis of how this issue
affects Brazilian society. Cannabis legalization is a subject of strong debate in the United States.
Marijuana use for medical, industrial, and recreational purposes has existed for thousands of years in
many countries worldwide and is documented as far back as 2700 BC (Time Magazine, April 2009;
Why Legalizing Marijuana Makes Sense). Marijuana should be legalized for several reasons. The
government could save money and earn additional revenue from taxes on its sale. Tobacco sales
generate strong sources of Federal revenue because of taxation. As a popular and well marketed
product, the sales taxes would amass a savings that could be allotted toward promoting infrastructures,
public education and other public utilities for the general welfare of citizens. As a cash crop, like corn,
wheat, or alfalfa, marijuana futures could also be bought and traded by investors. Tobacco futures
have been a consistently strong way of bolstering and diversifying a discriminating investor s
portfolio. The increase in futures investment would help American farmers build much needed
revenues that would allow agrarian operations to expand and become more sophisticated. In the

The coal bearing deposits of coal, along with many species found geo resources having consumer
relevance. They are the host rocks for the construction industry as a raw material, groundwater, coal
bed methane, rare and trace elements including rare metals and their compounds. For example, certain
coals are enriched in germanium. In terms of coal Russia ranked fifth in the world (after China, the
US, India and Australia), 3/4 of coal produced is used to produce energy and heat, 1/4 in metallurgy
and chemical industries. Exports are a small part, mainly in Japan and the Republic of Korea. Open
coal mining in Russia is 2/3 of the total. This method of production is considered the most efficient
and cheap. However, without taking into account the associated severe violations of nature the
creation of deep pits and extensive overburden dumps. Mine production is more expensive and has a
high accident rate, which is largely determined by the deterioration of mining equipment (40% of it is
out of date and needs urgent modernization).
Russian coal basins
The role of a coal basin in the territorial division of labour depends on the quality of coal, the size of
reserves, technical and economic indicators of production, the degree of preparedness of reserves for
commercial operation, the size of production, transport and features of geographical location. From

Economic Theory Of Stimulating Aggregate Demand Essay
The United States is better off economically today than it was in 2008 when the Great Recession hit.
The government had to act fast to minimize job losses, stabilize the housing and credit markets, and
get consumers back to work and spending money. The fiscal stimulus programs were effective in
doing just that by lowering unemployment and stabilizing the stock market. There are a few things,
however, that are intriguing.
Based on what we have learned in our economic theory of stimulating aggregate demand through
fiscal stimulus, the side effect is typically inflation (Schiller, 2013). The United States has not seen
inflation like what the economists predicted with the latest inflation rate at 0.2% (Coin News Media
Group, 2015). Despite all of the billions of dollars pumped into the economy, the Fed has been unable
to sustain the desired 2 percent inflation rate, which they believe is indicative of economic growth
(Mason, 2015). And, while the job market appears to be healthy with unemployment hovering around
5.1%, 27.7 percent of the unemployed, or 2.2 million, have been jobless for 27 weeks or more
(Ferreira, 2015). Those who are employed part time because they aren t able to find full time
employment and those who have given up looking for employment, even after their unemployment
benefits have expired, aren t counted in the unemployment numbers (Ferreira, 2015). According to a
survey done by Pricewaterhouse Coopers, an increasing share of employers want to hire but

My Dream In Life
It was just another typical, and boring day in Hopedale, Massachusetts. Working on a farm meant
blood, sweat, and sometimes even tears. I walked up to the barn to milk the cows, and fed freshly
picked vegetables to the pigs, afterward I made my way two miles to the flea market to sell my milk
and wool. By the time I got back, it had reached dusk, the sky was filled with gorgeous, bright stars
that filled every crack of the dark night sky. I was exhausted and filthy, I smelt like dirty socks that
hadn t been washed in years. As soon as I got home, I hopped into the shower, the warm water
dripping from my hair to my toes. I ran my fingers through the rough tangles in my curly brown hair.
As I grabbed the shampoo bottle I could feel my feet burning from the blisters on my the bottom of
my feet. I turned knob on the left side of the shower to turn off the water and reached for a dry towel
and wrapped it around my waist. Water trickled down my legs as I attempted to dry myself off. I
slipped into my favorite warm pajama pants and put on a large teal sweatshirt, then i got into bed and
pulled the covers up to my face and immediately dozed off into a deep sleep. I dreamt of the future a
life filled of adventure with a young boy that I could call my own. Suddenly, there was a loud, blaring
sound coming from across the room. RING RING RING RING I rushed to see where the commotion
was coming from, it was my phone, there were five missed calls from Jedd. Sweat rushed to my
hands, he

patient that people just one example of why Anne would rather confide in her diary then people. When
she express her thoughts, feelings and ideas the diary doesn t question them, respond or react to her
ideas in any way. Most importantly the diary doesn t rush a person to automatically share all secrets
which is why paper is more patient that people . This tells the reader Anne doesn t want her personal
beliefs, feelings or ideas shared to random people, she doesn t want them challenged either. Before
Anne went into hiding Anne s diary didn t mean anything significant to her, the diary had little

During her stay in the Annex Anne had to undergo an immense amount of stress and pain brought with
the conditions of the Annex. Her diary was a place where Anne could release all her thoughts about
the ongoing struggles in the Annex e.g. how mad she was at her mother, how small the Annex was
e.c.t. Later in the story as her relationship with peter develops, sometimes she would go to the attic
with peter to talk about how she felt and what s on her mind. Peter voluntarily also let out his feelings
on how he was coping, and how he felt. Along with that, homework, studying, sleeping and relaxing
are also techniques Anne used to help her cope with the stresses of their

  • 2. War On The War Of Art War in Art Introduction Everybody thinks they know what art should be. But very few of them have the sense that is necessary to experience painting, that is the sense of sight, that sees colors and forms as living reality in the picture. Otto Dix (Mulch, page 1) War in art. It was not an easy job and yet to this day has not gotten easier. There are two different sides when it comes to war art. On one side, the artists are going out onto the battlefield during the horrifying war so that they can portray the events going on during the war. Going out onto a battlefield, in the middle of a war, camping out in trenches to illustrate the events going on during the war. On the other hand, it is a chance to view different point of views going on during the war and was a good way to portray the events going on during the war and the aftermath of the war as well. This economic boom produced by OPEC amounts to an annual 730 billion (U.S.) dollars. In order to fully understand the magnitude of power this organization has, we can compare their annual income to every country s GDP. After doing this we notice that OPEC would be the 20th wealthiest nation trumping 167 countries in the process. This fact is mind boggling because when we talk about GDP we are talking about the value of all the finished goods and services produced within a country. When we talk about OPEC we are talking about a single product which is crude oil. This is worrisome for many reasons, first and foremost being that countries who are not members of the organization don t want one organization controlling and monopolizing such a valuable resource. The effects of monopolizing a single product is the power of setting a single price that everyone else needs to follow. This is why America and other non OPEC countries deal with gouging oil prices. Plant Pollinators Plants and Pollinators To begin, let me ask you something, what would it feel like not to have flowers or colorful fruits surrounding you or if they were never there in the first place. Well we should thank our amazing pollinators as such as the bee, hummingbird, e.t.c. We sometimes don t realize how important they are to us and that we take them for granted. Pollinators play a hard working role in the ecosystem and are extremely important. The reason they are such an important factor to this world is because pollinators are the ones that create and maintain new habitats for our ecosystems. These pollinators are also held responsible for helping the plants grow our amazing fruits that we have today. Since from this help from pollinators, fruits and other flowers that are pollinated can turn into world needs and help out the world in many ways. It is said that more than 1,200 types of plants are grown around the world for food,, medicines, spices, or even condiments. Of these, about 75% are pollinated by animals. It should be no surprise to most of us that throughout the years we have seen countless upon countless examples from the news and through others, that our school system is flawed in some way, shape or form. It is no longer a coincidence that our students are only achieving 36th from the top in all total curriculum (Arnett). This is also evident to anyone who may happen to own a T.V. and has been a viewer to these numerous articles describing these horrible issues we have within schools firsthand (ABC News). Not only that, but schooling can also be further compromised by politics and law related issues (Ravitch). What my goal for the essay I am submitting to you is; to give my opinions on the current situation of public schooling in America, discuss the issues, and back my points I will be presenting, with concrete evidence I have uncovered in my research. I would like to make it clear that my stance on the current situation is that there is not only a singular problem with public education, but a number of issues that inhibit students to learn properly and function as productive members of society. • 31. Revenge In Hamlet Hamlet is one of the most influential and time withstanding plays of all time. Created by William Shakespeare, Hamlet dabbles with the concepts of deceit, revenge, and death. Hamlet, the protagonist in Hamlet, is confronted with the challenge of taking part in revenge for his father s death, but he often finds himself lacking in taking action. Friedrich Nietzsche, a German philosopher, accounts this lack of action for something far deeper than what lies on the surface. He construes that Hamlet is burdened with the knowledge that death triumphs over all being. What kills Hamlet s action is knowing that what lies in everyone s path is death and that since we all die there is no point in correcting your earthly state, in Hamlet s case: getting revenge. This explanation for Hamlet s delay, however, is not fully represented throughout the play. Hamlet has his bouts of hope and prevalently believes in taking revenge. However, it s in his subconscious that Nietzsche s statement holds true. Hamlet, fueled by his cynicism, slowly finds himself falling deeper into this state of depression throughout the play. The farther he falls down this rabbit hole, the clearer his understandings shine through from the beginning of the play. Hamlet s mind is clouded with grief when he is first introduced. He likens everything of this earth as weary, stale, flat, and unprofitable (I.ii.132), as if the mere thought of being on this earth is useless. Hamlet from the get go, in his ... The government had to act fast to minimize job losses, stabilize the housing and credit markets, and get consumers back to work and spending money. The fiscal stimulus programs were effective in doing just that by lowering unemployment and stabilizing the stock market. There are a few things, however, that are intriguing. Based on what we have learned in our economic theory of stimulating aggregate demand through fiscal stimulus, the side effect is typically inflation (Schiller, 2013). The United States has not seen inflation like what the economists predicted with the latest inflation rate at 0.2% (Coin News Media Group, 2015). Despite all of the billions of dollars pumped into the economy, the Fed has been unable to sustain the desired 2 percent inflation rate, which they believe is indicative of economic growth (Mason, 2015).
