Three Types Of Linear And Planar Structured Donor ( D )...
Three types of linear and planar structured donor (D) acceptor (A) type alternating copolymers were
synthesized by incorporating intrachain noncovalent Coulomb interactions, based on 2,5 bisthieno[3,2
b]thiophene 1,4 bis(decyltetradecyloxy)benzene and benzothiadiazole (BT) moieties. The chain
linearity and systematic adjustment of interchain organization was achieved by the incorporation of
different number of electronegative fluorine atoms onto BT, which significantly affected the frontier
energy levels, film morphology, and the resulting charge transport properties. Bimodal semi
crystalline orientation and charge carrier transport properties were studied by grazing incidence wide
angle X ray scattering (GIWAXS) and polymer filed effect transistor (PFET) characteristics
measurements. The hole mobility as high as 0.1 cm2/Vs in PFET was measured for poly(2,5
bisthieno[3,2 b]thiophene 1,4 bis(decyltetradecyloxy)benzene alt 4,7 (5,6 difluoro 2,1,3
benzothiadiazole)) (PPDTT2FBT), suggesting a strong self organization in the linear configuration
with conformation lock with the help of fluorine atoms. The linear and difluorinated PPDTT2FT also
showed the highest power conversion efficiency (PCE, 6.4%) by blending with PC71BM, but showed
a poorer photovoltaic performance compared to the wavy structured counterpart, PPDT2FBT, reported
previously. The mainly edge on orientation of PPDTT2FT and poor blend film morphology attributed
to the moderate PCE in the blends. Fine modulation

UHS Water Quality
The water quality was excellent at the UHS creek, but not all creeks or streams have a great water
quality. The current water quality index for the UHS creek is 42. Some human impacts to keep this
water clean consists of a clean environment by not littering, picking up any garbage by/in the creek, or
making sure only pure water is flowing through the stream and not any sewer water. To prove the
point that some creeks don t have a great quality, but actually end up have an excellent water quality
like the UHS creek. Some observations looking at the UHS creek for the first time were; the plants
appeared dead, garbage on the banks of the rivers and in the water, and the creek smelled bad. Even

One example is using bacteria to actually purify drinking water. Although, that seems like a horrible
solution, but according to a new study, certain species of microbes may help remove trace minerals
such as zinc, selenium and even arsenic from your drinking water in the future. Some pros are bacteria
will clean/purify drinking water and the creek water, zinc concentration makes bacteria a million times
higher in the surrounding water (will increase the water index quality), degrade herbicides found in
the water, Aminobacter Bacteria is harmless and still reduces 50% of BAM (a harmless substance),
reduces time and money spent, etc. Some cons include if the bacteria get mixed with invertebrates it
could damage a food chain by killing the invertebrates, some bacteria could cause health problems for
people smelling it, some carbon dioxide gets left behind, bacteria do not fully penetrate within the
sand filters leaves some harmful substances, bacteria don t work well with sand bacteria or just sand,

Jesse Owens s Journey To The 1936 Berlin Olympics
We all have dreams. But in order to make dreams come into reality, it takes an awful lot of
determination, dedication, self discipline, and effort. This quote by Jesse Owens shows that nothing is
impossible. Jesse Owens bravery and courage to go to the 1936 Berlin Olympics led to less racial
discrimination in sports, more blacks competing in athletics, and to more respect for black people.
Back in this time, there weren t many black people competing in sports. This was because racial
tension in America was at a high and many black people didn t want to deal with it. But, then came
Jesse Owens. He didn t come from a fortunate family so he had to work for everything that he got. He
went to school through college and made it to the Olympics despite racism, all due to his
determination, dedication, self discipline, and effort.
Jesse Owens was born on September 12, 1913 in Oakville, AL. Jesse was born into poverty and had a
very rough childhood. Being the grandson of former slaves and the son of a sharecropper, he was
often working on the family farm whenever he could, but he was unable to work most of the time
because he ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There were still many people that believed white people were above black people, but many of the
white citizens had come to their understanding that black people should have equal rights. But once
Jesse Owens won four Gold Medals at the 1936 Berlin Olympics, white people in America had a new
found respect for blacks. Some white athletes shunned their black teammates. (Levin, 2016) This
shows that some of the white American athletes didn t approve of Jesse Owens before the races. But,
once Jesse proved himself in the Olympics, white Americans began to change their opinions about
blacks and started to respect them for their actions and didn t judge them on their color. This was all
thanks to Jesse Owens and his influence on America at the

Goventure Small Business Essay
For my project, I ran Coffee Roma, a coffee shop located in the business district of a large city. My
simulation ran for 60 days. Over this timeframe, I hired 7 employees and earned gross revenues of
$89,984.20. From those revenues, my net profit totaled $14,046.83. Below are the details of how I
attempted to best run my business. What adjustments did you make to try and improve performance?
The primary adjustments that I made to improve performance included proper staffing procedures and
inventory control procedures. With respect to staffing, I found that I initially had trouble serving
customers quickly enough during peak hours. Customers dissatisfied with their queue times often left
the store, resulting in lost sales. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I also undertook several other, less significant adjustments to try and improve performance. I routinely
invested in training for my employees when customer satisfaction levels were dropping due to service
related issues. Further, I occasionally invested in advertising and ran sales to promote customer
loyalty. I also closed my shop on the weekends, when I anticipated that fewer potential customers
would be in the area (due to the store s location in a business district). Lastly, on the rare occasion that
I was offered discounts by one of my suppliers, I generally took advantage of that offer. Were these
adjustments related to cost savings or increasing revenue, or both? With respect to my staffing
adjustments, those changes were aimed at increasing revenue. Increasing customer satisfaction and the
rate at which they were served provided the coffee shop with increased revenues from more sales. My
inventory control procedures provided both increased revenues and cost savings. Quite simply, I
ordered adequate levels of products which were in high demand, I was able to better meet customers
needs, and my revenues increased. The cost savings I experienced as a result of my inventory control
procedures were a bit more complex. First, in establishing a routine schedule for ordering, I was able
to reap the benefits of lower shipping costs. Because I had a routine schedule, I could

Parallax, Star Brightness, And Kepler s Laws Of Planetary...
I chose Proportional Scales in the Solar System, Examining Parallax, Star brightness, and Kepler s
Laws of Planetary Motion because I understood each section better than the other ones. Honestly I had
some corrections to make in each assignment but in the end they were almost perfect. My first
reaction was to choose topics that were the easiest to write about. But I thought about it and I chose
the topics that I best understood. I enjoyed these activities the most and if I had to choose my favorite
thing I ve ever learned in Science a couple of those would be on the top of my list.

The biggest thing that stands out to me when I read that question is the Parallax assignment. When we
started that assignment I was so confused, and lost I just didn t understand it. But when we were done
with it I took the most out of that assignment than any other one. My first example is the answer to the
question we answered at the beginning, and I had no idea what to put so I answered with one word,
again hoping out of pure luck I would be right. If you were to ask me what is parallax? I would
probably stare blankly with no idea what it was, and at the end of the assignment I could tell you
almost anything about it. My second example is how well my parallax summary turned out, and even
my graph. I completely understand how when the distance to an object increases the observed parallax
decreases. I think the moment I understood everything was when I held up my thumb straight out in
front of me, closed one eye and then the next. I know, it sounds dumb but that intrigued me into the
assignment, when a little part of me finally understood it. My notebook helped me have everything
right in front of me opposed to searching for multiple papers. Being a visual learner scared me going
into high school until I had the opportunity to see everything at once. In all honesty the one thing that
would improve my notebook would be motivation to myself. If I don t want to answer those questions
we were assigned to do, or even write a summary that

Act 3 Vs Hamlet Movie Essay
The director that does the best job presenting act three is Kenneth Branagh. In Branagh s act threethe
tone of the movie is much more positive and the scenes are far more colorful than the other two
versions. The colorfulness does a better job of portraying act three since everybody other than Hamlet
is having funand not grieving the death of the king. This is where the other two versions aren t as
great. In those two interpretations, the film is darker and depressing which does not encompass what is
actually happening in the story.Branagh s depiction of Claudius is also a lot more superior and
intelligent. In Branagh sact three Claudius only reacts to the fact that Hamlet knows he is responsible
for the murder and even then his reaction is subtle. In the other two ... Show more content on

Branagh s Hamlet is also greater than the other two since his Hamlet has more of a method to his
madness whereas Zeffirelli s does not. In Zeffireli and Olivier s interpretation of Hamlet, he is a lot
more abusive and aggressive towards the other characters; Zeffirelli s even goes as far to rape his
mother and almost have sex with her. Branagh s act three is superior in this aspect since Hamlet is not
a powerful man but is actually more of a coward and so portraying him physically abusing other
characters does not make any sense. Branagh s portrayal of the queen is also greater than the other
two. Gertrude has a lot more power in his version and is able to stand her ground against Hamlet; she
is also the only one not to have a sexual encounter with Hamlet. This makes Branagh s act three
greater because it is more realistic that the queen would be angry with Hamlet and stand up to him
rather than being submissive to him like the other two depictions. In this version Hamlet is much more
emotional. In the other two Hamlet rarely shows his

Medicine and Cardiology
Cardiology is mainly perceived as a study of the functions and disorders of the heart. However, it is
really much more than that. Since 13,000 B.C. medicine has been a thriving area of study. Even more
specifically than that, the heart has been a thriving area of study. As a result of the heart being the
organ that keeps one alive, numerous physicians from the past and the present strived to decipher the
heart. Since the heart has yet to be completely figured out, cardiology proves to be a promising career
in the future. In the beginning of time, herbalism was the first known form of medicine. At the time
however it was more seen as a type of religion. Many people thought diseases were caused by the
gods when they were angry. Therefore ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This contributed to cardiology as a practice of medicine because people were able to make diagnosis
about the heart. In 1816, Rene T.H. Laennec invented the stethoscope. This also contributed to
cardiology as a practice of medicine. In 1903, William Einthoven invented the electrocardiograph.
This led to cardiology as a medicine because it helped take down the rhythms of a heart to make sure
that one s heart was just the right speed. (Occupational Outlook Handbook) In 1912, James Herrick
took a huge step in the right direction when he discovered how heart disease occurs. From his
research, he came up with the idea of hardening of the arteries and its contributions to affecting the
heart. He realized that heart diseases occur when arteries aren t functioning correctly. Therefore, if
arteries were hardening blood flow couldn t flow normally and the heart would loose blood and
oxygen resulting in a diseased heart. (History of Medicine) In 1938, Robert E. Gross performed the
first heart surgery. He performed the surgery on the great vessels near the heart. This was monumental
in cardiology history. With this, many other heart surgeries were able to be performed. In 1951,
Charles Hufnagel developed a plastic valve to fix an aortic valve. (History of Medicine +
Occupational Outlook Handbook)
In 1952, F. John Lewis performed the first open heart surgery. This was a huge event in the history of
cardiology. Not only did Lewis perform the surgery, but

The Legal Relief System Of Ngos
and their members.
3.1.3 The legal relief system of NGOs and their members are imperfect
The current legal relief system of NGOs is far from perfect. In reality, the rights of many non
governmental organizations or their members had been violated at the time when they want to get
adequate relief (Lang and Xu, 2013). Legal remedies of NGOs mainly include legal remedies of
disputes between NGOs and the government, legal remedies of non governmental organization and its
members as well as legal disputes between NGOs and other general civil or commercial organizations.
Relief for the above disputes are: legislative relief, administrative relief and judicial remedies. Among
these three kinds of relief approach, judicial relief is the most important, but also in the current system
is the most imperfect approach. Judicial remedies can be divided into civil litigation and
administrative proceedings (Lin, 2007). When NGOs were to provide social services and its service
relationship between equal entities, a civil relationship, you can bring a civil action. When the
administrative act of an administrative organ of the law against NGO or its members may bring an
administrative lawsuit. With the development of modern public governance, administrative litigation
is the main NGO legal remedies, but the current system is not perfect. Firstly, NGO cannot serve as
the plaintiff in administrative proceedings. According to the traditional administrative action theory of
interest , the

Effectiveness Of Effective Interpersonal Communication
The most successful law enforcement officers are those that are able to find solutions and yet uphold
enforcement without resorting to other use of force methods as most fights can be won with the right
and positive attitude. Therefore, it is essential that the use of effective interpersonal communication is
the numer one compliance tool and resource for law enforcement officers.
According to a survey, law enforcement officers spend 80 percent of the time using their interpersonal
communications, whether its verbal, face to face, on the two way radio, writing reports, notebooks,

The frontal lobes are described as the brain s orchestra leader (Martin, 1998, p. 190), which would
place them at the reins of controlling effective behaviour. Damage to the frontal lobes encompasses a
wide range of symptoms including deficits in executive functioning, changes in personality, emotional
expression and social interaction. This includes apathy and lack of spontaneity, inability to plan and
modify the sequencing of behaviour and inappropriate behaviour.
2 The Structure and Functional Anatomy of the Frontal Lobes
===========================================================
In order to understand the complex nature of the frontal lobes, a synopsis of the anatomy of the
relevant parts of the brain is pertinent.
Each hemisphere of the brain is divided into four geographical areas: the frontal lobe, parietal lobe,
temporal lobe and occipital lobe. This division is not based on functionality, but is an aesthetic one.
The frontal lobe is the largest of these geographic areas with the Rolandic fissure (Central sulcus) and
the Silvian fissure (Lateral sulcus) and the Corpus Callosum creating the boundaries.
The frontal lobe is comprised of three functionally specific areas on the surface area of the cerebral
cortex: the precentral cortex or primary motor cortex (Brodmann s area 4), the premotor cortex
(Brodmann s area 6) and the prefrontal

To His Coy Mistress by Andrew Marvell Essay
To His Coy Mistress by Andrew Marvell It is a metaphysical poem, which means its lyric contains
many striking images, is very intense and uses strong metaphors. It is concerned with a young man
who is trying to persuade a young woman to have sex with him by charming and rushing her into it
because he only has one thing on his mind. In the poem he uses three different arguments, flattery, fear
and passion to persuade her to his point of view. In the first section Andrew Marvell uses flattery, he
does this by telling her that if he had all the time in the world he would use it by telling her how
beautiful she is and stare into her eyes but he doesn t have this time and he knows this so he s using

Kafka s In The Penal Colony
Throughout this course, we have analyzed multiple legal systems in texts that involve a trial or some
form of leniency, such as the Trial of Jesus and The Apology. The texts that don t involve this, such as
the Old Testament, include some form of absolute divine punishment that defeats the need for a
judicial system altogether. With In the Penal Colony, Kafka gives us an opportunity to explore a
society in which the legal system involves absolute punishment without divine intervention, and
challenges us to think normatively about it and the effects it has on society. In the society where In the
Penal Colony is set, a unique system of justice and punishment is used. Following the principle that
guilt is always beyond doubt, individuals accused of a crime are not given any opportunity to defend
themselves, and are instead put to death using a torture machine (Kafka 155). This brings up important
normative questions: what does this say about the judicial system and its effectiveness, and is this
system just? On one hand, it can be perceived as unjust, as people are not given leniency and more
importantly may be convicted of crimes they did not commit. As Professor Weiler says, The worst
thing you can do is convict an innocent man. On the other hand, however, it can be seen as the highest
form of justice, as the guilty will always be purged and given no chance at redemption. Furthermore,
the nature of the punishment, a brutal public execution that steadily deepens over

The Consequences Of European Standards Of Beauty On Black...
The consequences of European Standards of beauty on Black women Melissa Bandoo 03/31/2015
Abstract As a consequence of history and European standards of beauty upheld in society black
women are conditioned to loathe attributes distinctive to their race which, therefore, leads to low self
esteem. Black women today have a plethora of advertisements thrown at them that white wash, body
shame, and encourage them to assimilate to European standards of beauty for example straightening
their hair which ultimately alters a woman s outlook on self. Hypothesis African American women
have low self esteem due to European standards of beauty but their expectations of beauty differ from
women and young women of other races due to cultural differences and surroundings. Darker skinned
African Americans are less confident in themselves due to the glorification of lighter skin.
Introduction As we know, history has separated African American people from the greater white
society . Black women in early history were maids and slaves that were often separated by skin
complexion, women that were lighter in complexion were put in the house as slaves as maids and
caregivers and women with a darker complexion were put out in the field to work on crops. A large
amount of house slaves, who were offspring of their masters, had lighter complexions and were told
that they were better than their fellow darker skinned slaves. Social status among slaves was brought
about by the house and

Hummbert Love Lolita
I. Question/Issue Throughout the course of the novel, Nabokov mentions and references the theme of
love, specifically when he recalls on Humbert s feelings toward Lolita. As the narrator of the story,
Humbert uses love as a willful and tenacious justification for his pedophilic tendencies toward
nymphets like Lolita. As Lolita is only a young, undeveloped, and immature child, Humbert s desire
for Lolita is not only unreasonable and awkward, but also psychologically and physically obsessive;
he is unlike any other pedophile out here, as he experiences very little satisfaction after fondling ,
kissing , and groping Lolita. In every description and detail of Lolita throughout the novel, Humbert
reminds the readers of his obsessive affinities which he has absolutely no control over and the ones
that constantly keep him wanting to come back for more. As a large portion of the audience of this
novel find the book to have the basis of lust , and a fair amount of other readers believes it has the
basis of love , the question of whether or not Humbert truly loves Lolita comes into ... Show more

The Storming Phase Of Group Development
The purpose of this proposal is to research why members, who find themselves in a group that has
elements of an intimate and task group, continue their membership after the group enters into the
storming phase of group development. That is to say, why members stay involved after expressing
frustration and disagreement over decisions that are made. This research proposal is designed to
identify the key factors of why members, who represent their group culture, find it easy to complain
about the balance of power in their organization. The following proposal will outline a comprehensive
strategy to study and analyze the data.
Group Process The main group process that will be studied is the Storming Process, from Tuckman s
Stages of Group Development. Particularly, the effects the storming stage has on members that already
feel dissatisfied with the group and how they reconcile those feelings to stay apart of the group and
enter into the norming stage. The storming stage is where members start to rebel against some of the
expectations that the group has. The conflict could be between working styles, rules or authority, but it
regardless, storming has the ability to make the group fail (Tuckman, 1965 via Forsyth, 2014).
According to Marilyn Brewer s Optimal Distinctiveness Theory, members yearn for a balance between
wanting to be assimilated, connecting to friends within the group, and feeling autonomous and
differentiated (Forsyth, 2014). If members constantly are trying

The Embargo In Cuba
In 1960 the United States, under President Eisenhower, established a partial embargo on the tiny
island nation of Cuba (Rampersand, 402). That partial embargo became a complete embargo under
President Kennedy in 1962. The United States established the embargo on Cuba to alter Cuba s
political clime. Looking back through the last 55 years, that goal has not been achieved. It is time to
end the embargo on the island nation of Cuba re establishing economic, scientific and cultural
exchanges.
While Cuba has endured the embargo by the United States, it has not had the access to the rapid
development of medical progress. Therefore, Cuba has had to rely on internal development programs
to ensure the overall health to its people. Not only could Cuba benefit from access to medical research
and trade, the United States could benefit as well. William Keck wrote the following in the New

The lyric video was seen as a teaser for the music video since it wasn t like a regular lyric video just
displaying the words with pictures or a blank background. The lyric video was actually a video of her
singing it and dancing to it showing a raw aspect of her and her feelings towards the song. The first set
of lyrics in the song are, I still taste your presence, Once sweet but it turned sour, Tried to shake your
indifference, But it s too late now (00:00:15 00:00:28). This set of lyrics show metaphorically that
Gabbie still feels the persons presence anywhere she goes that once was creating and holding good
memories but now when she goes there she doesn t feel that way. In most of the music video, it
reveals the flashbacks of these memories that were created with the use of pictures. This could also be
portrayed with mental illness, the places that once held a good memory is now replaced with the
mental illness related memories and what happened when the mental illnesses were affecting her. In
the style of the music video and the first set of lyrics, Gabbie displays that she is using pathos and
ethos. Gabbie uses the style of pathos by appealing to emotions through the power of emotions and the
fact of losing someone. Someone could also relate to this song and appeal to their emotions by either
going through mental problems or have gone through

The Belief Of God, And The Faith
Many individuals question the belief of God, and the faith that so many people place in Him. What is
not recognized is that people place their faith in others and in things of this world on a day to day
basis. When we get into a car, a plane or a boat we trust and believing that this vehicle, pilot and this
captain is going to take us to the destination we are trying to reach, we think the person behind the
wheel has the power to get us there. It is not us who can take us to our endpoint, but God who allows
us to get there. There is no easy route to where we are going; no gps can take us to the path of
salvation. The only way to our endpoint, landing pad or treasure is through Faith. Faith in the Father,
son and The Holy Spirit. If someone felt in their heart that they would like to accept Jesus as their
personal savior, I know that He will welcome them with love, mercy and opened arms and they shall
be saved. His love, mercy, and Salvation are sufficient for all.
God s love is expressed in the bible in numerous ways. God has shown me His love in a number of
ways, and I am forever grateful of his ultimate sacrifice, His one and only son Jesus (John 3:16). Love
is an action verb. It is a decision and an act that can be performed to positively impact the lives of
others. The apostle John said, By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one
another (John 13:35) (Weider Guitierrez, 2013). Jesus carried the cross because of his great love for us

Summary Of Nathaniel Hawthorne s The Blithedale Romance
America s inception stemmed from the desire to create a society which differed from those before it.
By taking the best pieces of previous civilizations, the founding fathers strived to create a perfectly
formed society based on equality, a balance of power, and the independence of man to pursue their
own dreams. Literature of this period and more specifically the 19th century often deals with
experimentations on this very basis for society. Does one favor the individual over the community or
ignore the personal desires of the individual in favor of a collective mindset? Experimenting with the
makings of a utopia, defined by Merriam Webster as, a place of ideal perfection especially in laws,
government, and social conditions creates a serious question on the plausibility of a perfect society.
Dealing with this very quandary first hand, Nathaniel Hawthorne s The Blithedale Romance is an
experimentation on forming a perfect utopia. Within the novel, the desires of the individual are
squandered in favor of the collective. In reading Hawthorne, one gets the sense that the world is just
out of reach for him. Attaching a mysticism to everything detaches the characters from any sense of
reality, meaning that any experiment they set out on should be met with suspicion. Whereas in Henry
David Thoreau s Walden, Thoreau places the individual on a higher plane than the community. Going
into the woods, Thoreau detaches himself from society in a far different manner than Hawthorne, with

Critical Analysis Of Education In The Education Of Henry...
Introductions can range anywhere from a few, simple sentences to paragraphs of intense information.
The introductory Preface of Henry Adams s work, The Education of Henry Adams, is a section that
insists on one s attention and care. It presents an explanation of and questions on what the main
concern of the following sections is. The Preface informs that education is the central focus within his
book, but also prompts confusion. He causes the reader to take the time to ask: which factors of
education are useful, and which are not? Are there differences in how education is fit upon every
unique person? How is education viewed by Adams, and does this perspective change over the course
of his life? Does the modification of his viewpoint change not only his main character s experiences,
but also his own character? Is education something to dread or something to desire? The Preface is the
source of confusion in his work, and the subsequent sections of Adams s piece Harvard College, The
Dynamo and the Virgin, and Vis Inertiae answer these questions and more through his analysis of
education and the effect it has on students.
One of the most notable things in the Preface is Adams s mention of the manikin, the garment, the
tailor, and how the three of them coexist. By reading the succeeding sections of his story, the symbolic
explanations of the objects become more clear. The manikin can represent the student, upon which the
tailoring teacher drapes the garment of

Solar Energy
Our world has been in existence for billions of years and throughout all those years we have used the
sun for basic energy needs. So why not be able to harness that energy and use it to power things like
our homes or our cars? Many scientist have been developing alternate forms of energy called Green
Energy. Green power is the solution to creating a cleaner, sustainable energy system. Renewable
energy power from the sun, wind, plants, and moving water is a natural way to meet our energy needs
and protect the environment. Here are some forms of green energy:
• Wind energy converts the power available in moving air into electricity. Wind power does not
produce air emissions, generate solid waste, or use water.
• Biomass is energy ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
• the need for non polluting and silent sources of electricity; eg tourist sites, caravans and campers
• the need for a convenient and flexible source of small amounts of power; eg calculators, watches,
light meters and cameras;
• the need for renewable and sustainable power, as a means of reducing global warming.
Together, these needs have produced a growing market for photovoltaics which has stimulated
innovation. As the market has grown, the cost of cells and systems has declined, and new applications
have been discovered.
To fully understand how solar power energy is created we need to look at how silicon solar cells are
made by using either single crystal wafers, polycrystalline wafers or thin films.
Single crystal wafers are sliced, (approx. 1/3 to 1/2 of a millimeter thick), from a large single crystal
ingot which has been grown at around 1400 °C, which is a very expensive process. The silicon must
be of a very high purity and have a near perfect crystal structure.
Polycrystalline wafers are made by a casting process in which molten silicon is poured into a mould
and allowed to set. Then it is sliced into wafers. As polycrystalline wafers are made by casting they are
significantly cheaper to produce, but not as efficient as monocrystalline cells. The lower efficiency is
due to imperfections in the crystal structure resulting from the casting process.
Almost half the silicon is lost

Analysis Of Andrew Sarris s Odyssey
Andrew Sarris, a renowned film critic, clarified the Auteur Theory to be the notion that the way a film
looks and moves should have some relationship to the way a director thinks and feels, and that good
directors express style and theme across their body of work, (Stam 89; Sampson, Lecture 8.2).
Although director Jonathan Glazer has a diverse body of work, his personal themes and style are able
to shine through across all visual mediums, thus proving him to be a good director, according to
Andrew Sarris s interpretation of the Auteur Theory. In his Odyssey commercial for Levi Strauss, his
music video for Rabbit in Your Headlights by Unkle, and his film Birth, the combination of his themes
of persistence and unclear identities, along with his style of capturing people s faces and use of
tracking shots reveals his worldview that human beings are complex and strong entities. The theme of
persistence is prominent among the three mediums. The Rabbit in Your Headlights music video
portrays the persistence of a will to survive in a lone man who is walking on a busy road. Cars keep
hitting and knocking him down, but he gets back up every time. Despite the hits and presumed
physical pain, he persists and endures until finally, a car hits him but he remains standing, and the car
suffers more impact. The Levi Strauss commercial portrays a similar persistence in that the runners,
no matter how many walls stand in their way, they break through them and continue to run. At the

Pros And Cons Of Propaganda
Propaganda is not a recent idea or concept however since the creation of film propaganda has found its
way into them, especially documentary s. Documentary filmmaking is a platform and mode of
filmmaking associated with truth and actuality to present an overview of a topic or issue (Aufderheide,
2007). Audiences expect this when watching documentary films because generally the topic of a
documentary film is based on a real issue and/or event without the use with actors, sets and special
effects (with the exception of docudramas) (Nichols, 2010). Although they may be based on a real
world issue/event the filmmaker(s) behind the documentaries have an agenda and are trying to push
certain ideologies or points of view on the audience. However, the assumption is made that they are
doing this through fact and truth (Bizz). Propaganda on the other hand does not rely on truth or fact as
it is an idea of dishonestly. Propaganda never tries to persuade or inform instead it attempts to deceive
an audience by conveying/creating representations and ideas in a text that can only have one dominant
reading (Aufderheide, 2007). Propaganda filmmaking is usually created by governments and political

Freedom Under Hospitable Captivity Essay
The Matrix (Andy and Lana Wachowski, 1999) appeals to a Western ideology of freedom in its most
general sense by depicting a fight against the enslavement of the human race in a post apocalyptic
world controlled by machines. The machines use the humans, whose minds are trapped in a computer
program, as an energy source. In this world of machines, the Wachowskis expand upon the
totalitarianism seen in other works of fiction, such as 1984 by George Orwell. The totalitarian state of
1984, Airstrip One, becomes the whole planet in The Matrix, and the oppressed citizens become
nearly the entire human race. Only a group of rebels escape from the machines by creating a city
below the surface of the earth. The main character, Neo (Keanu ... Show more content on

His life changes when Trinity (Carrie Anne Moss) tells him that he is being watched and that the
answer to What is the Matrix? is looking for him. After an encounter with Agent Smith (Hugo
Weaving), Morpheus gives Neo the call to action with a phone call that sends Neo to the Adam s
Street Bridge to meet Trinity and later be freed from the Matrix, entering the belly of the whale.
Morpheus becomes the supernatural mentor during Neo s training the road of trials aboard the
Nebuchadnezzar, the rebel ship. After the agents capture Morpheus in the second call to action, Neo
proves that he is the One by saving Morpheus and dealing with the agents, the ultimate boon. In the
process, he stops bullets in mid air by opening his mind using a supernatural force and makes Agent
Smith explode in a guilt free act of violence. A unique feature of the film is that Neo is not presented
with a situation in which to resist temptation. It is unusual that this classic aspect of the Monomyth is
left out. Frodo has the ring, Buddha has three women, Christ has the three temptations of the Devil,
etcetera.2 Thus, the film follows much of the Monomyth but still manages to be unique.
Freedom has different definitions and histories in various parts of the world. The most important
definition of freedom in the context of The Matrix is that of the Western World. The desire for
freedom is not inherent to

  • 2. Three Types Of Linear And Planar Structured Donor ( D )... Three types of linear and planar structured donor (D) acceptor (A) type alternating copolymers were synthesized by incorporating intrachain noncovalent Coulomb interactions, based on 2,5 bisthieno[3,2 b]thiophene 1,4 bis(decyltetradecyloxy)benzene and benzothiadiazole (BT) moieties. The chain linearity and systematic adjustment of interchain organization was achieved by the incorporation of different number of electronegative fluorine atoms onto BT, which significantly affected the frontier energy levels, film morphology, and the resulting charge transport properties. Bimodal semi crystalline orientation and charge carrier transport properties were studied by grazing incidence wide angle X ray scattering (GIWAXS) and polymer filed effect transistor (PFET) characteristics measurements. The hole mobility as high as 0.1 cm2/Vs in PFET was measured for poly(2,5 bisthieno[3,2 b]thiophene 1,4 bis(decyltetradecyloxy)benzene alt 4,7 (5,6 difluoro 2,1,3 benzothiadiazole)) (PPDTT2FBT), suggesting a strong self organization in the linear configuration with conformation lock with the help of fluorine atoms. The linear and difluorinated PPDTT2FT also showed the highest power conversion efficiency (PCE, 6.4%) by blending with PC71BM, but showed a poorer photovoltaic performance compared to the wavy structured counterpart, PPDT2FBT, reported previously. The mainly edge on orientation of PPDTT2FT and poor blend film morphology attributed to the moderate PCE in the blends. Fine modulation ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Some human impacts to keep this water clean consists of a clean environment by not littering, picking up any garbage by/in the creek, or making sure only pure water is flowing through the stream and not any sewer water. To prove the point that some creeks don t have a great quality, but actually end up have an excellent water quality like the UHS creek. Although, that seems like a horrible solution, but according to a new study, certain species of microbes may help remove trace minerals such as zinc, selenium and even arsenic from your drinking water in the future. • 4. Jesse Owens s Journey To The 1936 Berlin Olympics We all have dreams. But in order to make dreams come into reality, it takes an awful lot of determination, dedication, self discipline, and effort. This quote by Jesse Owens shows that nothing is impossible. Jesse Owens bravery and courage to go to the 1936 Berlin Olympics led to less racial discrimination in sports, more blacks competing in athletics, and to more respect for black people. Back in this time, there weren t many black people competing in sports. This was because racial tension in America was at a high and many black people didn t want to deal with it. But, then came Jesse Owens. He didn t come from a fortunate family so he had to work for everything that he got. He went to school through college and made it to the Olympics despite racism, all due to his determination, dedication, self discipline, and effort. Jesse Owens was born on September 12, 1913 in Oakville, AL. Jesse was born into poverty and had a very rough childhood. Being the grandson of former slaves and the son of a sharecropper, he was often working on the family farm whenever he could, but he was unable to work most of the time because he ... There were still many people that believed white people were above black people, but many of the white citizens had come to their understanding that black people should have equal rights. But once Jesse Owens won four Gold Medals at the 1936 Berlin Olympics, white people in America had a new found respect for blacks. Some white athletes shunned their black teammates. (Levin, 2016) This shows that some of the white American athletes didn t approve of Jesse Owens before the races. Over this timeframe, I hired 7 employees and earned gross revenues of $89,984.20. From those revenues, my net profit totaled $14,046.83. Below are the details of how I attempted to best run my business. What adjustments did you make to try and improve performance? The primary adjustments that I made to improve performance included proper staffing procedures and inventory control procedures. With respect to staffing, I found that I initially had trouble serving customers quickly enough during peak hours. Customers dissatisfied with their queue times often left the store, resulting in lost sales. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I also undertook several other, less significant adjustments to try and improve performance. I routinely invested in training for my employees when customer satisfaction levels were dropping due to service related issues. Further, I occasionally invested in advertising and ran sales to promote customer loyalty. I also closed my shop on the weekends, when I anticipated that fewer potential customers would be in the area (due to the store s location in a business district). Lastly, on the rare occasion that I was offered discounts by one of my suppliers, I generally took advantage of that offer. Were these adjustments related to cost savings or increasing revenue, or both? With respect to my staffing adjustments, those changes were aimed at increasing revenue. Increasing customer satisfaction and the rate at which they were served provided the coffee shop with increased revenues from more sales. My inventory control procedures provided both increased revenues and cost savings. Quite simply, I ordered adequate levels of products which were in high demand, I was able to better meet customers needs, and my revenues increased. The cost savings I experienced as a result of my inventory control procedures were a bit more complex. First, in establishing a routine schedule for ordering, I was able to reap the benefits of lower shipping costs. Because I had a routine schedule, I could ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I chose Proportional Scales in the Solar System, Examining Parallax, Star brightness, and Kepler s Laws of Planetary Motion because I understood each section better than the other ones. Honestly I had some corrections to make in each assignment but in the end they were almost perfect. My first reaction was to choose topics that were the easiest to write about. But I thought about it and I chose the topics that I best understood. I enjoyed these activities the most and if I had to choose my favorite thing I ve ever learned in Science a couple of those would be on the top of my list. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The biggest thing that stands out to me when I read that question is the Parallax assignment. When we started that assignment I was so confused, and lost I just didn t understand it. But when we were done with it I took the most out of that assignment than any other one. My first example is the answer to the question we answered at the beginning, and I had no idea what to put so I answered with one word, again hoping out of pure luck I would be right. If you were to ask me what is parallax? I would probably stare blankly with no idea what it was, and at the end of the assignment I could tell you almost anything about it. My second example is how well my parallax summary turned out, and even my graph. I completely understand how when the distance to an object increases the observed parallax decreases. I think the moment I understood everything was when I held up my thumb straight out in front of me, closed one eye and then the next. I know, it sounds dumb but that intrigued me into the assignment, when a little part of me finally understood it. My notebook helped me have everything right in front of me opposed to searching for multiple papers. Being a visual learner scared me going into high school until I had the opportunity to see everything at once. In all honesty the one thing that would improve my notebook would be motivation to myself. If I don t want to answer those questions we were assigned to do, or even write a summary that ... • 7. Act 3 Vs Hamlet Movie Essay The director that does the best job presenting act three is Kenneth Branagh. In Branagh s act threethe tone of the movie is much more positive and the scenes are far more colorful than the other two versions. The colorfulness does a better job of portraying act three since everybody other than Hamlet is having funand not grieving the death of the king. This is where the other two versions aren t as great. In those two interpretations, the film is darker and depressing which does not encompass what is actually happening in the story.Branagh s depiction of Claudius is also a lot more superior and intelligent. In Branagh sact three Claudius only reacts to the fact that Hamlet knows he is responsible for the murder and even then his reaction is subtle. In the other two ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Branagh s Hamlet is also greater than the other two since his Hamlet has more of a method to his madness whereas Zeffirelli s does not. In Zeffireli and Olivier s interpretation of Hamlet, he is a lot more abusive and aggressive towards the other characters; Zeffirelli s even goes as far to rape his mother and almost have sex with her. Branagh s act three is superior in this aspect since Hamlet is not a powerful man but is actually more of a coward and so portraying him physically abusing other characters does not make any sense. Branagh s portrayal of the queen is also greater than the other two. Gertrude has a lot more power in his version and is able to stand her ground against Hamlet; she is also the only one not to have a sexual encounter with Hamlet. This makes Branagh s act three greater because it is more realistic that the queen would be angry with Hamlet and stand up to him rather than being submissive to him like the other two depictions. In this version Hamlet is much more emotional. In the other two Hamlet rarely shows his ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. Medicine and Cardiology Cardiology is mainly perceived as a study of the functions and disorders of the heart. However, it is really much more than that. Since 13,000 B.C. medicine has been a thriving area of study. Even more specifically than that, the heart has been a thriving area of study. As a result of the heart being the organ that keeps one alive, numerous physicians from the past and the present strived to decipher the heart. Since the heart has yet to be completely figured out, cardiology proves to be a promising career in the future. In the beginning of time, herbalism was the first known form of medicine. At the time however it was more seen as a type of religion. Many people thought diseases were caused by the gods when they were angry. Therefore ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This contributed to cardiology as a practice of medicine because people were able to make diagnosis about the heart. In 1816, Rene T.H. Laennec invented the stethoscope. This also contributed to cardiology as a practice of medicine. In 1903, William Einthoven invented the electrocardiograph. This led to cardiology as a medicine because it helped take down the rhythms of a heart to make sure that one s heart was just the right speed. (Occupational Outlook Handbook) In 1912, James Herrick took a huge step in the right direction when he discovered how heart disease occurs. From his research, he came up with the idea of hardening of the arteries and its contributions to affecting the heart. He realized that heart diseases occur when arteries aren t functioning correctly. Therefore, if arteries were hardening blood flow couldn t flow normally and the heart would loose blood and oxygen resulting in a diseased heart. (History of Medicine) In 1938, Robert E. Gross performed the first heart surgery. He performed the surgery on the great vessels near the heart. This was monumental in cardiology history. With this, many other heart surgeries were able to be performed. In 1951, Charles Hufnagel developed a plastic valve to fix an aortic valve. • 10. The Legal Relief System Of Ngos and their members. 3.1.3 The legal relief system of NGOs and their members are imperfect The current legal relief system of NGOs is far from perfect. In reality, the rights of many non governmental organizations or their members had been violated at the time when they want to get adequate relief (Lang and Xu, 2013). Legal remedies of NGOs mainly include legal remedies of disputes between NGOs and the government, legal remedies of non governmental organization and its members as well as legal disputes between NGOs and other general civil or commercial organizations. Relief for the above disputes are: legislative relief, administrative relief and judicial remedies. Among these three kinds of relief approach, judicial relief is the most important, but also in the current system is the most imperfect approach. Judicial remedies can be divided into civil litigation and administrative proceedings (Lin, 2007). When NGOs were to provide social services and its service relationship between equal entities, a civil relationship, you can bring a civil action. When the administrative act of an administrative organ of the law against NGO or its members may bring an administrative lawsuit. It is concerned with a young man who is trying to persuade a young woman to have sex with him by charming and rushing her into it because he only has one thing on his mind. In the poem he uses three different arguments, flattery, fear and passion to persuade her to his point of view. In the first section Andrew Marvell uses flattery, he does this by telling her that if he had all the time in the world he would use it by telling her how beautiful she is and stare into her eyes but he doesn t have this time and he knows this so he s using his charm and ... • 16. Kafka s In The Penal Colony Throughout this course, we have analyzed multiple legal systems in texts that involve a trial or some form of leniency, such as the Trial of Jesus and The Apology. The texts that don t involve this, such as the Old Testament, include some form of absolute divine punishment that defeats the need for a judicial system altogether. With In the Penal Colony, Kafka gives us an opportunity to explore a society in which the legal system involves absolute punishment without divine intervention, and challenges us to think normatively about it and the effects it has on society. In the society where In the Penal Colony is set, a unique system of justice and punishment is used. Following the principle that guilt is always beyond doubt, individuals accused of a crime are not given any opportunity to defend themselves, and are instead put to death using a torture machine (Kafka 155). This brings up important normative questions: what does this say about the judicial system and its effectiveness, and is this system just? On one hand, it can be perceived as unjust, as people are not given leniency and more importantly may be convicted of crimes they did not commit. As Professor Weiler says, The worst thing you can do is convict an innocent man. On the other hand, however, it can be seen as the highest form of justice, as the guilty will always be purged and given no chance at redemption. Furthermore, the nature of the punishment, a brutal public execution that steadily deepens over ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The consequences of European Standards of beauty on Black women Melissa Bandoo 03/31/2015 Abstract As a consequence of history and European standards of beauty upheld in society black women are conditioned to loathe attributes distinctive to their race which, therefore, leads to low self esteem. Black women today have a plethora of advertisements thrown at them that white wash, body shame, and encourage them to assimilate to European standards of beauty for example straightening their hair which ultimately alters a woman s outlook on self. Hypothesis African American women have low self esteem due to European standards of beauty but their expectations of beauty differ from women and young women of other races due to cultural differences and surroundings. Darker skinned African Americans are less confident in themselves due to the glorification of lighter skin. Introduction As we know, history has separated African American people from the greater white society . Black women in early history were maids and slaves that were often separated by skin complexion, women that were lighter in complexion were put in the house as slaves as maids and caregivers and women with a darker complexion were put out in the field to work on crops. A large amount of house slaves, who were offspring of their masters, had lighter complexions and were told that they were better than their fellow darker skinned slaves. As the narrator of the story, Humbert uses love as a willful and tenacious justification for his pedophilic tendencies toward nymphets like Lolita. As Lolita is only a young, undeveloped, and immature child, Humbert s desire for Lolita is not only unreasonable and awkward, but also psychologically and physically obsessive; he is unlike any other pedophile out here, as he experiences very little satisfaction after fondling , kissing , and groping Lolita. In every description and detail of Lolita throughout the novel, Humbert reminds the readers of his obsessive affinities which he has absolutely no control over and the ones that constantly keep him wanting to come back for more. As a large portion of the audience of this novel find the book to have the basis of lust , and a fair amount of other readers believes it has the basis of love , the question of whether or not Humbert truly loves Lolita comes into ... The Storming Phase Of Group Development The purpose of this proposal is to research why members, who find themselves in a group that has elements of an intimate and task group, continue their membership after the group enters into the storming phase of group development. That is to say, why members stay involved after expressing frustration and disagreement over decisions that are made. This research proposal is designed to identify the key factors of why members, who represent their group culture, find it easy to complain about the balance of power in their organization. The following proposal will outline a comprehensive strategy to study and analyze the data. Group Process The main group process that will be studied is the Storming Process, from Tuckman s Stages of Group Development. Particularly, the effects the storming stage has on members that already feel dissatisfied with the group and how they reconcile those feelings to stay apart of the group and enter into the norming stage. The storming stage is where members start to rebel against some of the expectations that the group has. The conflict could be between working styles, rules or authority, but it regardless, storming has the ability to make the group fail (Tuckman, 1965 via Forsyth, 2014). According to Marilyn Brewer s Optimal Distinctiveness Theory, members yearn for a balance between wanting to be assimilated, connecting to friends within the group, and feeling autonomous and differentiated (Forsyth, 2014). By taking the best pieces of previous civilizations, the founding fathers strived to create a perfectly formed society based on equality, a balance of power, and the independence of man to pursue their own dreams. Literature of this period and more specifically the 19th century often deals with experimentations on this very basis for society. Does one favor the individual over the community or ignore the personal desires of the individual in favor of a collective mindset? Experimenting with the makings of a utopia, defined by Merriam Webster as, a place of ideal perfection especially in laws, government, and social conditions creates a serious question on the plausibility of a perfect society. Dealing with this very quandary first hand, Nathaniel Hawthorne s The Blithedale Romance is an experimentation on forming a perfect utopia. Within the novel, the desires of the individual are squandered in favor of the collective. In reading Hawthorne, one gets the sense that the world is just out of reach for him. Attaching a mysticism to everything detaches the characters from any sense of reality, meaning that any experiment they set out on should be met with suspicion. Whereas in Henry David Thoreau s Walden, Thoreau places the individual on a higher plane than the community. The introductory Preface of Henry Adams s work, The Education of Henry Adams, is a section that insists on one s attention and care. It presents an explanation of and questions on what the main concern of the following sections is. The Preface informs that education is the central focus within his book, but also prompts confusion. He causes the reader to take the time to ask: which factors of education are useful, and which are not? Are there differences in how education is fit upon every unique person? How is education viewed by Adams, and does this perspective change over the course of his life? Does the modification of his viewpoint change not only his main character s experiences, but also his own character? Is education something to dread or something to desire? The Preface is the source of confusion in his work, and the subsequent sections of Adams s piece Harvard College, The Dynamo and the Virgin, and Vis Inertiae answer these questions and more through his analysis of education and the effect it has on students. One of the most notable things in the Preface is Adams s mention of the manikin, the garment, the tailor, and how the three of them coexist. Together, these needs have produced a growing market for photovoltaics which has stimulated innovation. As the market has grown, the cost of cells and systems has declined, and new applications have been discovered. To fully understand how solar power energy is created we need to look at how silicon solar cells are made by using either single crystal wafers, polycrystalline wafers or thin films. Single crystal wafers are sliced, (approx. 1/3 to 1/2 of a millimeter thick), from a large single crystal ingot which has been grown at around 1400 °C, which is a very expensive process. The silicon must be of a very high purity and have a near perfect crystal structure. Polycrystalline wafers are made by a casting process in which molten silicon is poured into a mould and allowed to set. Then it is sliced into wafers. As polycrystalline wafers are made by casting they are significantly cheaper to produce, but not as efficient as monocrystalline cells. • 34. Analysis Of Andrew Sarris s Odyssey Andrew Sarris, a renowned film critic, clarified the Auteur Theory to be the notion that the way a film looks and moves should have some relationship to the way a director thinks and feels, and that good directors express style and theme across their body of work, (Stam 89; Sampson, Lecture 8.2). Although director Jonathan Glazer has a diverse body of work, his personal themes and style are able to shine through across all visual mediums, thus proving him to be a good director, according to Andrew Sarris s interpretation of the Auteur Theory. In his Odyssey commercial for Levi Strauss, his music video for Rabbit in Your Headlights by Unkle, and his film Birth, the combination of his themes of persistence and unclear identities, along with his style of capturing people s faces and use of tracking shots reveals his worldview that human beings are complex and strong entities. The theme of persistence is prominent among the three mediums. The Rabbit in Your Headlights music video portrays the persistence of a will to survive in a lone man who is walking on a busy road. Cars keep hitting and knocking him down, but he gets back up every time. Despite the hits and presumed physical pain, he persists and endures until finally, a car hits him but he remains standing, and the car suffers more impact. The Levi Strauss commercial portrays a similar persistence in that the runners, no matter how many walls stand in their way, they break through them and continue to run. At the ... • 40. Pros And Cons Of Propaganda Propaganda is not a recent idea or concept however since the creation of film propaganda has found its way into them, especially documentary s. Documentary filmmaking is a platform and mode of filmmaking associated with truth and actuality to present an overview of a topic or issue (Aufderheide, 2007). Audiences expect this when watching documentary films because generally the topic of a documentary film is based on a real issue and/or event without the use with actors, sets and special effects (with the exception of docudramas) (Nichols, 2010). Although they may be based on a real world issue/event the filmmaker(s) behind the documentaries have an agenda and are trying to push certain ideologies or points of view on the audience. However, the assumption is made that they are doing this through fact and truth (Bizz). Propaganda on the other hand does not rely on truth or fact as it is an idea of dishonestly. Propaganda never tries to persuade or inform instead it attempts to deceive an audience by conveying/creating representations and ideas in a text that can only have one dominant reading (Aufderheide, 2007). Propaganda filmmaking is usually created by governments and political figures to impose hateful/nationalistic viewpoints and ideologies on the general populous (Aufderheide, 2007). Triumph of the Will (Riefenstahl, 1935) and Prelude to War (Capra, 1943) demonstrate that documentaries have the ability to create a false representation of history due to the filmmaker s ... Freedom Under Hospitable Captivity Essay The Matrix (Andy and Lana Wachowski, 1999) appeals to a Western ideology of freedom in its most general sense by depicting a fight against the enslavement of the human race in a post apocalyptic world controlled by machines. The machines use the humans, whose minds are trapped in a computer program, as an energy source. In this world of machines, the Wachowskis expand upon the totalitarianism seen in other works of fiction, such as 1984 by George Orwell. The totalitarian state of 1984, Airstrip One, becomes the whole planet in The Matrix, and the oppressed citizens become nearly the entire human race. In the process, he stops bullets in mid air by opening his mind using a supernatural force and makes Agent Smith explode in a guilt free act of violence. A unique feature of the film is that Neo is not presented with a situation in which to resist temptation. It is unusual that this classic aspect of the Monomyth is left out.
