The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau
Overview This document describes the manner in which Vendor Oversight assigns tiers to Pacific
Union Financial ( PUF or the Firm ) vendors and manages vendors accordingly to facilitate due
diligence, maintenance and compliance with Firm, state, and Federal requirements. Background
The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau ( CFPB ) is tasked with writing and enforcing rules
for financial entities to protect consumers from unfair, deceptive or otherwise harmful practices by
such entities. A major area of focus for the CFPB is a robust and effective oversight of a financial
institution s third party providers (vendors) to ensure consumers are not exposed to unnecessary
risk of financial or personal harm. The CFPB has not issued specific rules outlining how a financial
institution must oversee its vendors; however, they have provided guidelines which outline the
areas that such institutions should consider in their oversight program. Among these, establishing
internal controls and on going monitoring to determine whether the service provider is complying
with Federal consumer financial law is specifically stated as an expectation of the CFPB for
financial institutions towards their third party providers. Procedure Vendor Oversight has
developed and maintains a robust third party oversight program to efficiently and effectively
source, vet, onboard and continually evaluate the performance of PUF third party providers. As
part of this process, each vendor is assigned

The Nazi Hunters
If you want to learn about a period of history, there are many things you could go about doing to
get the information you want. You could read a nonfiction book, or you could read a historical
fiction book. If you specifically wanted to learn about the Holocaust and the treatment of the
Jewish people around WWII, you could read The Nazi Hunters by Neal Bascomb a nonfiction or
Something Remains by Inge Barth Grözinger a historical fiction. In this case, one of the options is
the better one, and that better choice is The Nazi Hunters. The nonfiction is better than the
historical fiction because it goes into more detail and is not hindered by plot. The Jewish people

Sam Houston and the American Southwest Essay
The first half of the nineteenth century was a time of emergence, change, and uncertainty in the
American Southwest. Randolph B. Campbell celebrates this historical time period in his novel,
Sam Houston and the American Southwest, as well as the life and times of the southwest s hero
himself, Sam Houston. Sam Houston provided guidance to southwestern expansion in the United
States, more than any other individual. Within his novel, Campbell describes Houston as a man
who possessed courage, wisdom, and ambition that was practically unsurpassed amongst any other
political or military leader in the south. Because of these attributes, Sam Houston was able to play a
monumental role in sparking the revolution, winning independence, and the... Show more content

He then became a Senator from Texasto the United States Congress, but was removed due to his
strong opposition to the secession of Texas. This ended his career in public service and in 1863,
Sam Houston died in his home in Huntsville, Texas. Sam Houston played a monumental role in
sparking the Texas revolution. He believed that independence from Mexico was necessary saying
that war inevitable and urging volunteers to come to the aid of their Anglo brethren (p. 60). Also,
Houston s role as commander in chief of the army was very important in winning the war for
Texas Independence. After the capture of Santa Anna at the Battle of San Jacinto, many of the
soldiers in the Texas Army wanted to execute him on the spot. But because of Sam Houston s
level head, he knew that his prisoner was the key to removing all Mexicans soldiers from Texas
without further bloodshed , and Jacinto became his password to Texas heroism forever (p. 85
87). Furthermore, Houston s leadership as the president of the Republic of Texas kept the
republic alive until it became a part of his mother country (p. 198). Sam Houston was a man of
many faces. Whether it was a friend to the Indians, governor of two States, or president of the
Republic of Texas, he always stayed true to his practicality and fought for what was right. Because
of this Sam Houston s name will synonymously remain with Texas Independence, and forever be
immortalized in textbooks and novels alike. In conclusion, Randolph

Cochlear And The International Market

Cochlear is an Australia Born Global company, which has been very successful in restoring partial

Social marketing can also mean macro social marketing (Kennedy Parsons, 2011). The legal and
political impact that led by the government in social marketing have a huge impact on Cochlear s
marketing as the legal and political factors have threatens Cochlear s pricing strategies and hence
positioning in China. Government can use or make laws to make changes and protection of their
own country, laws can influence different areas, such as education, marketing, research, funding
and taxation, in order to take advantage and protect local businesses. Different countries have
different types of political and legal aspect, so Cochlear need to be careful on its action and not to
make any problems in other countries. For example, in China, Cochlear will be facing many
competitions from the local businesses and manufacturers, as the government in China does not
want Cochlear has the monopoly profit and want to protect their local businesses. Therefore,
Cochlear need to lower their pricing to stay competitive with the local companies. The main goals
for the Chinese government to do this are to support local research, development, and
manufacturing and also make cochlear implants cheaper and more accessible (Einhorn Khan,
2013). This will affect Cochlear s marketing mix in terms of price as they have to stay competitive
in the Chinese market. Cochlear need to adapt the change of market condition by changing their

The New Constitution And The Constitution
The new constitution formulated comprised of seven articles that explain how a government
should work in order to provide its citizens with the basic rights. This new system divided the power
between the federal government and the states. Furthermore, the American Revolution is extremely
important as the constitution that was later formulated still serves the basis of the American
constitution. Even though several amendments have been made to the constitution, the
revolutionary principles upon which the Constitution was made are still influencing the society of
the United States. The language and the sentiments involved in the Declaration of Independence

During the revolution, several African American slaves served in the revolutionary war from both
sides of the war. Moreover, this revolutionary war of independence helped the slaves in getting their
independence as well. This is when several thousands of the slaves attained the status of
independence by running away. As a result of the revolution, the slaves started to fight against the
slavery after getting the encouragement from the natural right philosophy of the seventeenth
century English philosopher John Locke (Digital History), which is also a part of the constitution
of the United States of America. This natural right philosophy is nothing else but the right to life
and liberty that the constitution of the United States guarantees to provide its citizens. In addition
to this fight of the African American against the slavery, the slaves began to appeal the Congress
in order to destruct the slavery. Furthermore, under the new constitution, the slaves were
considered as 3/5 as productive as a free person (Cardoza and Hume 116). Thus, after the
revolution, the slaves were also given representation while earlier the slaves were not considered to
have any kind of rights since they were not considered the citizens. Moreover, it was this
revolutionary war, after which the abolitionist movements initiated to abolish the slavery and thus,
the awareness about slavery increased. Also, a lot of

Book Cover Analysis
Sam, in your essay you analyzed aspects of the cover that I would not have immediately thought of.
You brought up interesting points about both the covers and there influence in the classroom, but I
still wonder about a few of the points mentioned in your paper.
When looking at the covers for Monster I definitely agree that they are targeted towards males
because the colors used and the male on both covers. Considering that there is a mug shot on Myer
s illustration, it certainly hints that there will be violence, which is stereotypically appealing to
men. I found it interesting how in the illustration by Myers the letters of the title resemble the bars
in prison cells. The font of this title influences what a reader thinks is going to happen in the book.
You looked deeper into the font of the title when you... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While I agree that this cover may attract more student s because of its comic like illustration, it
fails to appear like a killer story to me. There is simply a man on the cover that looks distraught,
but nothing to hint to me that he is a killer.
Overall, you thoroughly analyzed both covers and I would agree with you that Myers cover is
more suitable for the book considering how much it encloses about the plot. I would have loved to
hear more about if you think the cover would attract an older audience outside of the high school
age.
Additionally one thought that I had while reading your paper was considering this is a young
adult novel, why would the illustrator want to make the cover look rough and violent especially
since in the book it makes it seem as though Steve is guilty? Do you think Myers purposely added
the mug shot and bar cell like letters to suggest that Steve is not as innocent as he appears to be?
Also, why do you think Anyabwile omits any suggestions of prison and seems to lack connection to

Abrams And Sedition Act Case
During times of political unrest and hysteria, the Court seems to allow for more limits on speech if
simply because the times host more potential for danger. Take the following example as parallel to
Schenck, Abrams, and the circumstances surrounding both. In the 1969 case Brandenburg v. Ohio,
the Court abandoned the clear and present danger test, stating that only speech that produces or is
likely to produce violent actions or illegal behavior can be banned (Cohen 32). The Court argued a
difference between advocacy of ideas and incitement of unlawful conduct exists though the Court
did not define it. During this time, the United Stateswas not concerned with being overthrown by
insurgents or overcome with hysteria like earlier in the century.... Show more content on

The Court, in affirming the judgment of lower courts, deferred to Congress but also redefined
the standard to protect future free speech since the times implied more stringent restrictions on
speech could follow. Had the Court struck down the ruling, Congress would not have the
necessary power to limit speech, and future dangerous speech would go unabated since doing so
would create the rule that Congress cannot limit free speech. Rather than create this rule, the
Court created a new standard by which to measure the ability of Congress to curb free speech on
a case by case basis. This new standard, which more broadly protects free speech, has evolved
over time, as evident in Abrams, Brandenburg, and Holder. The ability to evolve over time and to
apply to different cases in lower courts highlights Holmes idea that rights were established by
society and balanced by the needs of the society, according to blah blah, and thus reflects an
inherent legitimacy. Again, having this standard and the ability to choose to use it or not allows the
Court to reflect the necessities of society, thereby aligning more closely to

Barack Obama s Presidential Election Essay
Context Card: Subject: 2016 presidential race Audience: Voters of Hillary Clinton Writing
Situation: Why Hillary is not the candidate you want to be the next president. Thesis: Hillary
Clinton is a horrible choice for president and Trump is a much better choice when compared to
Hillary. Tone: Persuasive and showing why Donald Trump is the better candidate for the
presidential election than Hillary Clinton. Presidential Persuasion The 2016 presidential
election is said to be, one of the most controversial elections in recent history, with the two main
party nominee s being Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton. Many people would say that they don
t like the two main choices for the presidency, further proving this, a poll conducted by the Wall
Street Journal and NBC News that was taken in mid summer 2016 showed that Hillary
supporters voted for her because They did not like Trump. While Trump supporters voted for
Trump because They did not like Hillary. So It is easy to identify that voters are voting for their
respective candidate choice due to the factor being, they do not like the other candidate.
According to psychology; Emotion is stronger than logic when it comes to the mental process, so
it is safe to assume people are ignoring the facts and solely voting based on their emotions. Some
main topics of the Presidential Debate according to the people are that: Trump supporters believe
that Hillary wants to restrict gun laws, while Hillary supporters

Project Management Students Attending Itt Technical Institute
Currently, all students attending ITT Technical Institute are learning some sort of Project
Management through specific courses that primarily teach only the theory behind Project
Management. The students attending ITT Technical Institute would greatly benefit from hearing
from Project Managers and Engineers first hand on what to expect in the field in which the students
are studying, and to speak on personal events that they have been through on the job and how the
importance of project managementhelped the speakers out in those events. A faculty member has
brought the idea to the Chair of the Business Program, that it would be a great idea to start a Project
Management Student Group and shed more light and visibility around the project management
degree within the school. Having the project management student group set up in the school and
bringing in guest speakers will better prepare the students for the career ahead, after graduating
from ITT Technical Institute. The Chair of Business has approved the idea and plan to start the
project management student group has been proposed.
Constraints:
After reviewing the project management student group request, a risk assessment was used to
determine all of the projects risks and constraints. One of the main project constraints is the lack of
budgeting; the project was allotted no budget to get the ball rolling and no budget to keep the
program running. Without a solid number for a budget, the project manager will be

The Office Bully Essay
Yaidelyn Alonso
The Office Bully, by: Hawkins, K.
DeVry University Stephen Carter
September, 6, 2014
Some employers may be working with a bully, and not even know it. The Office Bully by Kathryn
Hawkins mentions virtuous points of this concept. The issue with bullies is when you think you
have escaped from them, they can ultimately return and become your boss. Although you may think
they have potentially matured and progressed as people, they are actually still stagnant in an
oppressing manner. In my opinion, they will use whatever power they have against you, especially
if they become your boss. Kathryn Hawkins mentions alerting and effective arguments in this
article. She mentions Carole s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
What I usually tend to look for in an article is facts! The article notes, 13 percent of employees are
currently being bullied in the workplace, while 24 percent have experienced bullying from a
coworker or boss in the past , Bullies aren t always men either: according to the Zogby study, 40
percent of the bullies reported were women, and more than 70 percent of the time, their targets
were other women (Hawkins, K. 2010) These facts have made the article much more relevant
and as a reader we want to know how reliable an article is, these facts have proven to be true
because it is also supported by an actual experience of a different person.
Opinions are different from facts. Opinions are usually a conclusion reached by someone. I
learned that there are two different opinions. There is the verifiable opinion and the expert
opinion. This article has a bit of both just because with verifiable opinion it can be shown to be true
or shown to be false, but then again you must always attribute them to the person who gave it,
Kathryn Hawkins states, many bullies will continue to emotionally abuse others throughout their
lives (Hawkins, K. 2010). An individual cannot generalize and automatically think that many
bullies will continue to be bullies in the future, but this can generally be shown to be true or false.
As far as expert opinion, the personal feelings are put the side and they look at

Children Are A Unique Language Developing System Than...
Babies do have a unique language developing system than other animals. Basically, animals don t
have as many ways of communication as human babies do. However, animals do have ways to
communicate. Instead of language, animals use symbols and signs. Some specific animals like
dolphins even have the ability to use sonar when they communicate. That is something even people
could not do. People now might have the sonar technology with facilities, but that is not something
that was born inside us. So animals communicate in the similar way as human using their unique
language. They just are not in the same way cause their ways are far simpler than that of human.
Like babies, animals also have ways to express emotion and communicate through... Show more

Besides their own baby language, they also learn about our language, from how we use it to tell
them about other things. This means that language learning is going on whenever language is used
around children.
Environment factors especially television do have a negative impact on child s language
development. Given the right conditions, children between the ages of two and five may
experience benefits from good quality educational television. A variety of studies have
demonstrated that children who are heavy viewers of television are more likely to be
linguistically underdeveloped, although a direct causal relationship has not been established.
Children s consumption of television increases as a result of children s age, the availability of the
television in the home, particular family circumstances (low education of the parents, young
parents, low socio economic status of the family, low IQ and male gender of the child), children s
time spent in the home, caretaker s positive views on the role of television, and high frequency of
parent child co viewing of general audience programs.
Apparently universal grammar does exist in linguistics. Linguists believe that this universal
grammar is innate and is embedded somewhere in the neuronal circuitry of the human brain. That
would be why children can select, from all the sentences that come to their minds, only those that
conform to a deep structure encoded in the brain s

Primo Levi Survival in Auschwitz
EXAM QUESTION 1 PART A Survival in Auschwitz written by Primo Levi is a first hand
description of the atrocities which took place in the Nazi concentration camp Auschwitz. The book
provides an explicit depiction of camp life: the squalor, the insufficient food supply, the seemingly
endless labour, cramped living space, and the barter based economy which the prisoners lived.
Levi through use of his simple yet powerful words outlined the motive behind Auschwitz, the
tactical dehumanization and extermination of Jews. This paper will discuss experiences and
reactions of Jews who labored in Auschwitz, and elaborate on the pre Auschwitz experiences of
Jews who were deported to Auschwitz and gassed to death on their arrival, which had not been...

Levi recalled it was too tiring ... to remember and to think. It was better not to think . The
process of belittlement worked until men inside the camp had no value for their own life, or
were simply too exhausted to resist. PART BThose who were murdered upon arrival at Auschwitz
were for the most part composed of the elderly, ill, women, and children. Most of these people
were rounded up from over crowded Jewish ghettos through out Europe. The Lodz, Warsaw, and
Krakow ghettos alone held roughly 700,000 thousand Jews. Every day deportations to
concentration camps and other ghettos, and random murders took place. Major food shortages
emerged within the ghettos alongside epidemics, and people were dropping dead of hunger and
disease in the streets. SS Sturmbanfuhrer Hoppner proposed a more humane way of exterminating
Jews, rather than letting them starve to death he had gas vans in mind. The vans were tested north
of the Lodz ghetto in Chelmno, and they had proved to be an effective and humane way of
extermination. These mobile killing units are estimated to have killed 150,000 Jews. The deporting
of people into extermination camps was carried out by cramming people into cattle carts attached to
trains.

Why I Am A Bad Writer
From the time I was in about fourth or fifth grade I began to dislike certain subjects in school. I
loathed everything about writing assignments. I didn t write at home before that the thought of
writing for myself never really occurred to me. I hated the deadlines the length requirements and I
just tried to get them done and had no intention of writingwell because I told myself I was a bad
writer. I have never really known whether or not I truly am a bad writer. I continued these habits of
just writing something down to get a decent gradeall throughout school. I usually got an okay
grade because I followed the prompt closely and did the minimum amount of work for the paper.
I didn t start the assignments until either the night before it was due. As I got older I would type
the paper on my phone in school that day then print it off in the library moments before class. I
continued writing in that awful ritual of complacency until the end of 11th grade. We had to
write a paper on The Great Gatsby a book that I never read. I read couple of notes on the internet
and then wrote the paper and never reread it or edited it all. I did my usual routine and followed the
prompt and turned my paper in. When I got my paper back I was shocked to find out I didn t get
even a half decent grade I was given a zero. I went to my teacher after class to speak with him
about the grade and he told me I got the grade that I deserved. He said I was lazy and never tried to

The Early Modern Period Of The English Language
England from the 16th to 18th century was undergoing an immense change in its social structure
and cultural practice due to the innovations from the Renaissance (late 15th to early 17th C), the
Reformation (16th to 17th C) and the Scientific Revolution (17th to 18th C). Firmly situated in this
context is the Early Modern Period of the English language, starting from approximately 1500 CE
and continuing through to 1700 CE, which saw the language move from Middle English (1100
1500 CE) into a language more recognisable to the one spoken by English speakers today. Crucial
to these transformations are the introduction of the printing pressto Englandby William Caxton in
1476 and the influence of role of Latinin European education during this period. These
circumstances shaped the use of and attitudes towards English, especially in relation to its
standardization, definition of correct English and the spread of literacy. Ultimately, transforming
English into a language respected and highly appreciated in this period.
The printing press set up in Westminster by William Caxton in 1476 was the first of its kind in
England and is frequently taken to be the date that marks the emergence of Early Modern English .
This innovation also marks the beginning of the standardization, and eventually regulation, of the
English language, thus greatly impacting the use of English in this period and moving forwards
into the present. Previously, English spelling was greatly varied in its

Poverty is one of the mainly causes why children nowadays withdraw from school. According to P.
Goins children continue to be the poorest age group in America. Child poverty remained at record
high levels in 2012, with more than 1 in 5 children identified as poor . Poverty belongs to the
things that cannot be suppress in a snap. The main of the cause of poverty on education is they are
lack on financial assistance, the parents do not have an adequate money to support their children.
According to R. Murcane children living in poverty, he notes, tend to be concentrated in low
performing schools staffed by ill equipped teachers. They are likely to leave school without the
skills needed to earn a decent living in a rapidly changing economy.

The Importance Of Physical Education On American Schools
The Importance of Physical Education in American Schools
Review
Hommes, Tiffany J., Bemidji State University, USA
Background Many children in America do not receive the needed amount of physical activity
needed to maintain a healthy weight. Approximately17% of children are obese (Robert Wood
Johnson Foundation, 2016) and 1 in 3 children are overweight or obese (American Heart
Association, 2016). This is a local and national emergency that needs to be addressed to keep
children healthy, prevent morbidities, and control the costs that are associated with being
overweight or obese. Pre diabetes, type 2 diabetes, and hypertension in children is at an all time
high. However, research indicates that only 3.8 percent of American elementary schools provide
daily physical education (Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, 2007). This paper will discuss the
importance of daily physical education in our schools. There is an abundance of support to
provide daily physical education in our schools. First Lady Michelle Obama (2010) stated that she
will lead a national initiative to reverse the childhood obesity epidemic. In her initiative, she
mentioned the intervention of increasing physical activity to change this epidemic (Obama, 2010).
In fact, Healthy People 2020 has objectives to increase the portion of the America s private and
public schools that require daily physical education U.S. Department of Health and Human

Who Is The Protagonist In A Midsummer Night s Dream
A Midsummer Night s Dream: Character Analysis of Nick Bottom Nick Bottom, or Bottom as
he is commonly referred to, is portrayed as the joke of A Midsummer Night s Dream by William
Shakespeare and is easily manipulated by the other characters due to his arrogance and his
foolishness. Several times throughout the play. Bottom s arrogance is highlighted so that the
audience can mock him. An example of Bottom s arrogance is when, Bottom believes that he is a
talented actor and director, even better than the others performing and directing the play. He tells
the director of the play, Quince, to let him play more characters in the play and says that the play

i. 35 36). He uses the word exposition, which is a comprehensive description, when he means to
use the phrase disposed to . Bottom s arrogance and conceit is what gets him involved in Puck
and Oberon s plans because of how foolish it makes him. It makes Bottom look like an ass , so
Puck decides to turn him into a literal ass . His need for attention and his foolishness also lets
him be accepting and go along with Titania and the faeries. Despite his arrogance and
foolishness, Bottom is quite friendly and is well received by the mechanicals. When Bottom is
missing, the mechanicals worry that the play will no longer be good if he is not there and begin
complimenting his appearance and saying that he is the best wit of any handicraft man in Athens
(IV. ii. 7) Bottom s openness to the faeries shows how friendly and outgoing he is as well. But it
is this openness that also makes him easily manipulated. He easily accepts Titania and the faeries
care, which is actually him falling into Oberon s plan to humiliate Titania. As a result of Bottom s
arrogance, foolishness and friendliness, Bottom is an easy target for Shakespeare to turn into the
joke of A Midsummer Night s Dream through both his own

Extreme Sports
Introduction Extreme sports (also called action sport and adventure sport) are a media term for
certain activities perceived as having a high level of inherent danger. These activities often
involve speed, height, high level of physical exertion, highly specialized gear or spectacular
stunts. At present date, there are no careful studies or statistics of deaths to separate activities
with low or normal level of danger from those with high level of danger. While use of the term
extreme sport has spread far and wide to describe a multitude of different activities, exactly which
sports are considered extreme is debatable. There are however several characteristics common to
most extreme sports. Extreme sports tend to be more solitary... Show more content on

Generation X and Generation Y are the two most highly valued by marketers. This creates a

`` Comfort Me With Apples `` By Tracy Daugherty
If you ever die in Houston (Rough Draft)
In the short story Comfort me with Apples by Tracy Daugherty the theme of death transpires
throughout the story. Daugherty developed a constant theme of sorrow and unfortunateness
through the characters, places and events, which all were ultimately affected by death. Although,
countless readers of Comfort me with Apples would suggest that the story is centralized by another
theme, many would agree that the theme of death in the story showcases how different characters
cope with death and the effects it has on the human condition, by examining how George coped
with the death of his wife, how death affected the Zamora family and how the bayou represented
death in every aspect when portrayed.
Undoubtedly with many untimely deaths, such as automobile accidents, survivors are often left
with survivors guilt and have to find ways to coupe death, as George did in the story. The tragic
accident that killed George s wife and her parents left him in disarray, but he persevered by
holding on to the memories of his wife, helping others and by staying busy throughout story.
George did not feel sorry for his self or succumb to moping around and lying in bed all day, as
many do when coping with death. For instance, George spends his days helping and interviewing
the Zamora and Thout families, he brings them food, offers advice and ultimately shows
compassion for both families. Additionally, he keeps close relationships with his friends

Difference between Text Messaging and Abbreviations
Social media sites such as Twitter only allow a limit of 140 character per tweet. This limits the
amount of words you can use in a tweet. This forces the users to get their ideas across in the
shortest way possible. For many, this results in the use of text talk. This is a type of shorthand
and it creates a whole new language consisting of abbreviations. LOL, BRB, SMH and TTYL
are a few examples of the abbreviations from this text talk language, theses terms are used every
day amongst teens. These text terms add more to a sentence and in text more then just a simple
abbreviation for a word or phrase. Abbreviations as short has three letters can add a whole new
tone to what is said over a text massage. LOL (laugh out loud) for example is used to add a
joking or playful tone to a messages almost like a type of punctuation and in some cases it
replaces a punctuation. This abbreviation doesn t always indicate literal laughter either. This is
how text talk and normal abbreviations vary. Text talk is surly changing the way we talk and
communicate with people in our every day lives. theses text short hand are becoming a language
on its own. Now the question is how does this writing form change the way we communicate
with people. We no longer have to ride on horse back for miles just to deliver a single letter.
However, we now have cell phones and laptops, and with these social media. Writing letters was
once an semi social activity between two people. Writing letters

Burger King s Successful Fast Food Restaurants
Burger King is one of the most successful fast food restaurants in the world. Burger King has been
very effective in applying their strategic vision and mission statement to build their brand. The
leadership team has positioned Burger King for a path of continued domestic and international
growth, because of a strong brand recognition and quality products. Burger Kinguses two generic
strategies to deal with competition, they are differentiation and cost leadership. Cost leadership
within Burger King is essential to minimize costs. This allows Burger King to control margins and
operating costs. For Burger King to offer such competitive prices, they have to reduce operating
costs, but at the same time they need to provide a quality product that the customers want. Burger
King also uses a differentiation strategy. A good example would be the way they grill their
products and the specific techniques they use for products such as the Whopper . The marketing
teams has also formed slogans such as Have It Your Way and the most current slogan Be Your Way
. These slogans attempt to form a differentiation pattern in the consumer s minds. These marketing
slogans are also used to attract new customers especially in the competitive market such as the fast
food market. These techniques have allowed Burger King to reach out to new and current customers.
Burger King uses a pricing strategy that is based off of their successful cost leadership techniques.

improvement that emanated from the general routine work and cultural environment within the

It was revealed in other studies that the most successful reviews were characterized by three
interdependent, supportive cultural factors which are supportive health professionals, supportive
institutional culture and supportive political and policy environment14. It was also revealed that

Jimmy Santiago Baca Coming Into Language Summary
In the essay Coming into Language , the author Jimmy Santiago Baca expresses how he used
reading and writing as an escape to his reality. He begins by talking about his first engagement
with books during his night shifts at the hospital where he was working. During this time, Baca
would only look at the pictures in books because he didn t know how to read. He found a book
on Chicano history and found his true identity. It was from then on that Baca found he felt free
reading and expressing himself on paper. When he first went to prison at the age of seventeen and
heard the inmates reading aloud together is when he ironically said, Never had I felt such freedom
as in that dormitory. (Baca, 1992, pg52) This quote is an example of Baca feeling... Show more

Baca writes, Through language I was free. I could respond, escape, indulge; embrace or reject

and that is how he was setting himself free. Later in the paragraph Baca refers to his childhood
saying, The child in the dark room of my heart, that had never been able to find or reach the light
switch, flickered it on now; and I found in the room a stranger, myself, who had waited so many
year to speak again. (Baca, 1992, pg55) In my opinion I believe this is the most powerful quote
to describe Baca s engagement of being released from his ordinary world in prison. Since as a
child Baca did not know how to read or write, he didn t know his inner voice. Baca found his
inner voice through language and childhood Baca that could not reach the light switch because
he didn t know how to read and write could now reach it. This quote can really make someone

how to read and write, being able to do them now but now he s stuck in prison. It feels Baca went

My Final Moments As A Chelsea High School Cheerleader
It was my final moments as a Chelsea High School cheerleader. My final banquet had quickly

My parents were there to support me like always, and for that I am thankful. Seeing my parents

Whether at a football game while I cheer on the sidelines or at a banquet where I receive an

time that I looked into the crowd and just as I had anticipated, I spotted my parents. As expected,
they waved their arms wildly to catch my attention. I smiled and waved back though my wave was
much smaller than theirs, as I was doing my best not to draw attention to myself. For a moment, I
was at ease because of their presence. But just as the girl in front of me stepped forward to take

The Success Of Canadian Banks Essay
Introduction
Canadian Banks has never attracted that much of attention of the whole world until the subprime
meltdown in 2007/2008. Canada was the only G7 country that did not have a government bank
bailout. Canadian banks remained profitable through the crisis. A World Economic Forum report
ranked Canada first among 134 countries on the soundness of its banks.
This paper aims to analyze persuasive reasons for the remarkable success of Canadian Banks in
the subprime meltdown. Regulations have been set before the crisis. However, different countries
implementations are different in practice. The main arguments of this paper are related to the
number characters , leverage ratio and return of equity/asset (R O E/R O A). Using empirical data
of these ratios in different banks in Canada and America lead the paper to several soundness
conclusions.
Background
In 2008, subprime financial crisis started from the United State of America, soon the whole global
economic are shaken by this crisis. However, Canadian bank industry survived from this crisis
surprisingly.
How could Canadian banks survive the subprime meltdown in 2008? It relates to conservative
policies and strict regulations in Canadian bank system. The Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation
(CDIC) insures each depositor at member institutions up to a loss of $100,000 per account. The
purpose of that is to protect deposited from bank insolvency and ensuring the financial stability. In

letter, these are the happier residents. You may not think it but they can tell if your there where
it seems like it or not they know. Write a letter simple telling them about the kind of day you
had; send a card for no reason but to just send one. It means more then you ll ever know. I
understand that taking care of a grown adult isn t a pretty thing that s why places where created so

History Of Political Correctness In The United States
Political Correctness in the United States started with respectful origins; however in recent years,
this noble cause has taken a less than honorable turn for the worse. It s origins in the U.S. started
sometime in the late 1970s on college campuses, in an effort bring about a politeness between
people. Sometime in the 90 s, its intended use morphed into what we see today, a way to
marginalize someone with a different idea. Muscoreil (2013) claims it was neither a social
movement nor a coherent political platform but rather a tendency among governing bodies,
especially in academic institutions, to police the spoken, written, or implied beliefs of those with
whom they disagreed. If we continue down this course, the experiment we call being... Show more

That s where we are today, Henley (1999) states in the current climate of political correctness, it is
expected that the dominant culture collectively accepts the blame for minority misfortunes. Just
because a topic may be unpleasant, that doesn t necessarily make it wrong. We can t ignore
important issues we face as a society just on the basis they might offend someone, ignoring it
doesn t make it go away and certainly doesn t make it better. It s not only hindering us when we
approach current and past issues, it s gotten to point where college professors are not using certain
literature because they don t like the author. In the view of Curtler (2009) Born of genuine
humanitarian impulses, it now threatens to devour much of what is greatest in our literature and
forever separate the children of our culture from what is essential to their humanity. We can address
issues with the sensitivity needed, however when we limit the conversation for fear of offense we
actually do a disservice to the argument

time or alternatively for their particular situation, the first step in the process to treat infertility is
attempting to diagnosis the source of the infertility. In order to do this, both partners undergo a
series of preliminary diagnostic tests and procedures to determine if either the male or female have
any of the fertilityrelated issues. Infertility by definition is not being able to conceive after one
year of trying with unprotected sex. Trying to conceive not only affects the women but also the
man can have some type of issues that can affect the couple ability to become pregnant.
Infertility has become a growing issues for couples. According to CDC About 6% of married

The Virginia Statue For Religious Freedom Essay
In 1832, a contractor that went by the name of Philip Duffy owned a stretch of a railroad line
about thirty miles west of Philadelphia, Mile 59. He hired countless Irish Catholic immigrants to
work for him and continue to build the line for the Philadelphia and Columbia railroad, now
connecting Philadelphia to the Main Line. Not only were the working conditions terrible, with the
wooded hills and ravines, but less than two months after the workers came to Philadelphia, they
were assumed to have died from the Cholera outbreak that was a worldwide pandemic for the
second time.
On June 23, Duffy met an arriving bark called the John Stamp on the Philadelphia docks that had
sailed from Derry in April with a shipload of Irish laborers, mainly Catholics from Donegal,
Tyrone, and Derry. He acquired his work crew for mile 59 primarily from the men of the John
Stamp. The site eventually was named Duffy s Cut for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Maybe the societal events have shaped our views on certain religions, but it does not mean that we
need to belittle and destroy what keeps people together, what gives them a reason to be. In the
Virginia Statue for Religious Freedom, Thomas Jefferson stated that
No man shall be compelled to frequent or support any religious worship, place, or ministry
whatsoever, nor shall be enforced, restrained, molested, or burthened in his body or goods, nor
shall otherwise suffer, on account of his religious opinions or belief; but that all men shall be free
to profess, and by argument to maintain, their opinions in matters of religion, and that the same
shall in no wise diminish, enlarge, or affect their civil capacities.
If that was an established idea, and later written in the First Amendment of the National
Constitution, is it not our duty as Americans to allow people to believe in what they want? Atheist,
Agnostic, or whatever you believe, it is right for you and no one should be put down because of

One of the major reasons that this was a world war was because of the relationships between the
different countries. Germany had an alliance with Austria Hungary W, who could have had many
other alliances with different nations. With all the alliances , each nation had a different point of
view of who started the war. Germany ,Serbia , and Austria Hungary were the only ones that
thought Germany started the war. Alliances are another reason as to how the war started.
Imperialism was the final main underlying cause of WWI. Germans felt that they needed to charge
to conquer the other countries and colonize them as best they could. It caused problems with other
countries because of the small amount of the land they owned in each nation. The Germans actions
would cause anger through other nations towards Germany. Imperialism is one of the many reasons

Cacstromethorphan Case Studies
1.Dextromethorphan is believed to have rapid acting antidepressant properties at high dosage
because it s similar to glutamate NMDA receptor antagonist ketamine, which has shown rapid
(within hours after administration) antidepressant effects. However, ketamine has adverse effects
and a high potential to be abused [16].
2.C. Previous Studies and case reports of with Dextromethorphan/Rationale of Study

neurological and psychiatric disorders because of its profile and diverse pharmacokinetic and
pharmacologic actions in the central nervous system. Several preclinical, open label and blinded
clinical trials have shown the clinical and beneficial ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

A case report showed Dextromethorphan was effective in a middle aged man with Major
Depressive Disorder. A 51 year old Caucasian male with DSM V Major Depressive Disorder,
recurrent, severe, non psychotic and Generalized Anxiety Disorder was treated with 600 mg/day of
CYP2D6 inhibitor bupropion XL (a common antidepressant drug) and a 60 mg BID oral dose of
Dextromethorphan. The patient showed improvement in major depressive disorder without side
effects. This case study was the first to show the fast acting effect of Dextromethorphan in major
depressive disorder in humans. This adds to the building literature on the antidepressant effects
observed in Dextromethorphan. The report suggested the administration of other common
antidepressants with Dextromethorphan, such as lithium might prolong the duration of the rapid
antidepressant effect [19].
Although this case report illustrates that Dextromethorphan has rapid antidepressant effects in
humans, there are very few clinical trial on the effect of Dextromethorphan on major depressive
disorder. This clinical trial will be one of very few controlled evaluating the safety and efficacy of
Dextromethorphan in patients with major depressive disorder. Therefore, various assumptions will
be required to estimate sample size. This trial will focus on patient who have

Maxim Killed Rebecca
Whenever beloved books appear on screen, there are critical changes made which can be either
beneficial and detrimental to the audience s response to the film. Films can either capture the
entirety of a book, or change the plot so drastically it becomes reminiscent of the book. This often
leads to the age old argument of whether the book or filmis better. In the film interpretation of
Rebecca, Hitchcock manipulates Du Maurier s intended theme of justice and judgment by altering
the purpose of critical scenes, characters, and the ending of the book through the cinematography
and reconstruction of key events.
Rebecca is never present in the book, but has the most influential role in the story. In the book,
Maxim killed Rebecca because he wanted out of her wrath; her earthly power was too much for
him to bear. This portrayed him as a hurting man who seeked revenge. Hitchcock s version
majorly changed this as he made Rebecca haphazardly die, changing the audience s perception on
Maxim. This staged him as a victim, rather than a murderer. Doing this allowed the audience to
side with Maxim and Rebecca s side rather than the side of Ms. Danvers and Rebecca s family. ...

Ms. Danvers is viewed as stone cold and drenched in misery in both versions of the story. Her
maternal love for Rebecca was so strong she still had not moved on, over a year later. Since
Rebecca was murdered in du Maurier s original take, there was sympathy attached to her sullen
demeanor. It is implied that she knows what happened deep down but had trouble coping with it.
But as she is portrayed in the movie the same way, there is no sympathy with her because it was
an accident, and no deeper meaning that comes along with it; there is no reason she should be
grieving this hard as all the others who knew Rebecca have

In the history of philosophy Utilitarianism has been viewed as one of the best of the moral theories.
It has become one the most powerful, influential, and most persuasive approach to normative ethics.
The utilitarianism theory also has had a major impacts on approaches to economic, political, and
social policy. The utilitarianismtheory had originally had been created by Jeremy Bentham. His
version of was that aggregate pleasure after deducting suffering of all involved in any action.
However, this was later revised by John Stuart Mill He has revised the concept of utility and has
brought forth the Greatest Happiness Principle .
First off, utilitarianism is the philosophical view about how we should evaluate a things that are
involve choices that people have to make. These things that are evaluated are actions, laws,
policies, character traits, and moral codes. In general, whatever is being evaluated, we are the ones
that have to choose the one that will produce the best overall results. Utilitarianism is also a form of
consequentialism this is because utilitarianism is based on the consequences or results of actions
that are the only standard of right and wrong. Utilitarian s say that we should choose the option that
has maximizes utility, i.e. that action or policy that produces the largest amount of good. Although
it may be similar to Utilitarianism is distinctly different from other forms of consequentialism such
as egoism as it considers all interests equally. On

  • 2. The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau Overview This document describes the manner in which Vendor Oversight assigns tiers to Pacific Union Financial ( PUF or the Firm ) vendors and manages vendors accordingly to facilitate due diligence, maintenance and compliance with Firm, state, and Federal requirements. Background The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau ( CFPB ) is tasked with writing and enforcing rules for financial entities to protect consumers from unfair, deceptive or otherwise harmful practices by such entities. A major area of focus for the CFPB is a robust and effective oversight of a financial institution s third party providers (vendors) to ensure consumers are not exposed to unnecessary risk of financial or personal harm. The CFPB has not issued specific rules outlining how a financial institution must oversee its vendors; however, they have provided guidelines which outline the areas that such institutions should consider in their oversight program. Among these, establishing internal controls and on going monitoring to determine whether the service provider is complying with Federal consumer financial law is specifically stated as an expectation of the CFPB for financial institutions towards their third party providers. Procedure Vendor Oversight has developed and maintains a robust third party oversight program to efficiently and effectively source, vet, onboard and continually evaluate the performance of PUF third party providers. As part of this process, each vendor is assigned ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

You could read a nonfiction book, or you could read a historical fiction book. If you specifically wanted to learn about the Holocaust and the treatment of the Jewish people around WWII, you could read The Nazi Hunters by Neal Bascomb a nonfiction or Something Remains by Inge Barth Grözinger a historical fiction. In this case, one of the options is the better one, and that better choice is The Nazi Hunters. The nonfiction is better than the historical fiction because it goes into more detail and is not hindered by plot. Campbell celebrates this historical time period in his novel, Sam Houston and the American Southwest, as well as the life and times of the southwest s hero himself, Sam Houston. Sam Houston provided guidance to southwestern expansion in the United States, more than any other individual. Furthermore, Houston s leadership as the president of the Republic of Texas kept the republic alive until it became a part of his mother country (p. 198). Sam Houston was a man of many faces. Whether it was a friend to the Indians, governor of two States, or president of the Republic of Texas, he always stayed true to his practicality and fought for what was right. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... During the revolution, several African American slaves served in the revolutionary war from both sides of the war. Moreover, this revolutionary war of independence helped the slaves in getting their independence as well. This is when several thousands of the slaves attained the status of independence by running away. As a result of the revolution, the slaves started to fight against the slavery after getting the encouragement from the natural right philosophy of the seventeenth century English philosopher John Locke (Digital History), which is also a part of the constitution of the United States of America. This natural right philosophy is nothing else but the right to life and liberty that the constitution of the United States guarantees to provide its citizens. In addition to this fight of the African American against the slavery, the slaves began to appeal the Congress in order to destruct the slavery. Furthermore, under the new constitution, the slaves were considered as 3/5 as productive as a free person (Cardoza and Hume 116). Thus, after the revolution, the slaves were also given representation while earlier the slaves were not considered to have any kind of rights since they were not considered the citizens. You brought up interesting points about both the covers and there influence in the classroom, but I still wonder about a few of the points mentioned in your paper. When looking at the covers for Monster I definitely agree that they are targeted towards males because the colors used and the male on both covers. Considering that there is a mug shot on Myer s illustration, it certainly hints that there will be violence, which is stereotypically appealing to men. I would have loved to hear more about if you think the cover would attract an older audience outside of the high school age. Additionally one thought that I had while reading your paper was considering this is a young adult novel, why would the illustrator want to make the cover look rough and violent especially since in the book it makes it seem as though Steve is guilty? Take the following example as parallel to Schenck, Abrams, and the circumstances surrounding both. In the 1969 case Brandenburg v. Ohio, the Court abandoned the clear and present danger test, stating that only speech that produces or is likely to produce violent actions or illegal behavior can be banned (Cohen 32). The Court argued a difference between advocacy of ideas and incitement of unlawful conduct exists though the Court did not define it. During this time, the United Stateswas not concerned with being overthrown by insurgents or overcome with hysteria like earlier in the century.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Court, in affirming the judgment of lower courts, deferred to Congress but also redefined the standard to protect future free speech since the times implied more stringent restrictions on speech could follow. Had the Court struck down the ruling, Congress would not have the necessary power to limit speech, and future dangerous speech would go unabated since doing so would create the rule that Congress cannot limit free speech. Rather than create this rule, the Court created a new standard by which to measure the ability of Congress to curb free speech on a case by case basis. This new standard, which more broadly protects free speech, has evolved over time, as evident in Abrams, Brandenburg, and Holder. The ability to evolve over time and to apply to different cases in lower courts highlights Holmes idea that rights were established by society and balanced by the needs of the society, according to blah blah, and thus reflects an inherent legitimacy. Again, having this standard and the ability to choose to use it or not allows the Court to reflect the necessities of society, thereby aligning more closely to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Although you may think they have potentially matured and progressed as people, they are actually still stagnant in an oppressing manner. Basically, animals don t have as many ways of communication as human babies do. However, animals do have ways to communicate. Instead of language, animals use symbols and signs. Some specific animals like dolphins even have the ability to use sonar when they communicate. That is something even people could not do. People now might have the sonar technology with facilities, but that is not something that was born inside us. So animals communicate in the similar way as human using their unique language. They just are not in the same way cause their ways are far simpler than that of human. Like babies, animals also have ways to express emotion and communicate through... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Besides their own baby language, they also learn about our language, from how we use it to tell them about other things. This means that language learning is going on whenever language is used around children. Environment factors especially television do have a negative impact on child s language development. Given the right conditions, children between the ages of two and five may experience benefits from good quality educational television. A variety of studies have demonstrated that children who are heavy viewers of television are more likely to be linguistically underdeveloped, although a direct causal relationship has not been established. Children s consumption of television increases as a result of children s age, the availability of the television in the home, particular family circumstances (low education of the parents, young parents, low socio economic status of the family, low IQ and male gender of the child), children s time spent in the home, caretaker s positive views on the role of television, and high frequency of parent child co viewing of general audience programs. Apparently universal grammar does exist in linguistics. Linguists believe that this universal grammar is innate and is embedded somewhere in the neuronal circuitry of the human brain. That would be why children can select, from all the sentences that come to their minds, only those that conform to a deep structure encoded in the brain s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The book provides an explicit depiction of camp life: the squalor, the insufficient food supply, the seemingly endless labour, cramped living space, and the barter based economy which the prisoners lived. Levi through use of his simple yet powerful words outlined the motive behind Auschwitz, the tactical dehumanization and extermination of Jews. Most of these people were rounded up from over crowded Jewish ghettos through out Europe. The Lodz, Warsaw, and Krakow ghettos alone held roughly 700,000 thousand Jews. Every day deportations to concentration camps and other ghettos, and random murders took place. Major food shortages emerged within the ghettos alongside epidemics, and people were dropping dead of hunger and disease in the streets. SS Sturmbanfuhrer Hoppner proposed a more humane way of exterminating Jews, rather than letting them starve to death he had gas vans in mind. The vans were tested north of the Lodz ghetto in Chelmno, and they had proved to be an effective and humane way of extermination. These mobile killing units are estimated to have killed 150,000 Jews. I have never really known whether or not I truly am a bad writer. I continued these habits of just writing something down to get a decent gradeall throughout school. I usually got an okay grade because I followed the prompt closely and did the minimum amount of work for the paper. I didn t start the assignments until either the night before it was due. As I got older I would type the paper on my phone in school that day then print it off in the library moments before class. I continued writing in that awful ritual of complacency until the end of 11th grade. We had to write a paper on The Great Gatsby a book that I never read. I read couple of notes on the internet and then wrote the paper and never reread it or edited it all. I did my usual routine and followed the prompt and turned my paper in. When I got my paper back I was shocked to find out I didn t get even a half decent grade I was given a zero. I went to my teacher after class to speak with him about the grade and he told me I got the grade that I deserved. He said I was lazy and never tried to truly work in ... When Bottom is missing, the mechanicals worry that the play will no longer be good if he is not there and begin complimenting his appearance and saying that he is the best wit of any handicraft man in Athens (IV. ii. 7) Bottom s openness to the faeries shows how friendly and outgoing he is as well. Daugherty developed a constant theme of sorrow and unfortunateness through the characters, places and events, which all were ultimately affected by death. Although, countless readers of Comfort me with Apples would suggest that the story is centralized by another theme, many would agree that the theme of death in the story showcases how different characters cope with death and the effects it has on the human condition, by examining how George coped with the death of his wife, how death affected the Zamora family and how the bayou represented death in every aspect when portrayed. Undoubtedly with many untimely deaths, such as automobile accidents, survivors are often left with survivors guilt and have to find ways to coupe death, as George did in the story. The tragic accident that killed George s wife and her parents left him in disarray, but he persevered by holding on to the memories of his wife, helping others and by staying busy throughout story. • 47. Maxim Killed Rebecca Whenever beloved books appear on screen, there are critical changes made which can be either beneficial and detrimental to the audience s response to the film. Films can either capture the entirety of a book, or change the plot so drastically it becomes reminiscent of the book. This often leads to the age old argument of whether the book or filmis better. In the film interpretation of Rebecca, Hitchcock manipulates Du Maurier s intended theme of justice and judgment by altering the purpose of critical scenes, characters, and the ending of the book through the cinematography and reconstruction of key events. Rebecca is never present in the book, but has the most influential role in the story. In the book, Maxim killed Rebecca because he wanted out of her wrath; her earthly power was too much for him to bear. This portrayed him as a hurting man who seeked revenge. Hitchcock s version majorly changed this as he made Rebecca haphazardly die, changing the audience s perception on Maxim. This staged him as a victim, rather than a murderer. Doing this allowed the audience to side with Maxim and Rebecca s side rather than the side of Ms. Danvers and Rebecca s family. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
