This presentation represents a case study of my own experience engaging The Heritage Foundation regarding their position on sex education. In sum: I shared my learnings, thinkings and thoughts for future efforts. I presented it at Sex::Tech 2010 in San Francisco on Saturday, February 27th 2010. I shared the stage with a dear friend and great resource in the Health 2.0 movement, Andre Blackman (founder / blogger / consultant at Pulse+Signal).

Mary K. Lespier conducted a study on the effects of participatory drumming on expressive oral language. She administered pre-tests and post-tests to students and incorporated drumming interventions for some groups. Results showed improved expressive language scores, especially for students with speech delays. Teachers also completed surveys indicating support for music and arts in education. Lespier concluded drumming can benefit students' language development and recommends further research with older students to establish music's role in addressing speech delays.

The Role of Social Media in Teaching and Learning
Presentation given at FITSI at UNH in June 2010 on the varying role of social media in education. Followed by a panel that included several teachers, the IT department and the Assistant Dean, and later by a social media roundtable on guidelines and policies. It was a great day of learning to an attentive crowd.
Note: In 2010 we changed the name of our company from Uptown Uncorked to Magnitude Media to better reflect the variety of clients we serve.
Sexual Health
This document discusses sexual health education in the UK. It begins by outlining why sexual health is an important issue due to risks of STIs and unintended pregnancy. It then reviews existing sexual health resources in the UK, including sex education in schools, websites, television programs and ads, magazines, and clinics. My Thesis Defense Presentation

This study demonstrated a novel natural transformation mechanism in Actinobacillus actinomycetemcomitans (A.a.) that is independent of uptake signal sequences and the Tfox gene. The study showed that A.a. could be transformed with genomic and plasmid DNA present in microvesicles secreted into the growth medium of donor cells. This transformation occurred both in the presence and absence of components normally required for natural transformation in A.a. The results suggest outer membrane adhesion and fusion of donor microvesicles with recipient cells allows DNA delivery and homologous recombination. This novel mechanism could provide an easier method for genetically transforming A.a. compared to conventional techniques.

The Joy of Data Driven Storytelling
We are bombarded with 174 newspapers worth of information each day and in order to get your message to cut through the noise, you need to be simple to understand, provide value, and if possible, evoke an emotional response. By combining hard data with beautiful visuals, you have a fighting chance to stand out. As my good friend Joe Chernov likes to say: "The secret to breaking through a noisy landscape isn't more noise. It is sounding different."
What's more, there is a high likelihood that you will have a lot of fun in the process. Heck, I would even argue you will feel actual JOY. Why? By returning to the basics of storytelling, you are tapping into the origins of how you learned to communicate as a child -- from using colors and shapes, to employing mixed media. Just because you are a grown up doesn't mean you shouldn't still draw about these early stage arts.
Elementary Happiness
At the end of 2010, I was exhausted. I was four years into building a company from the ground up. I hadn't slept more than a few hours a night all year. I hadn't talked to my family without multitasking for years. My health was suffering. I was on the verge of (and eventually reached full) burn out.
Fast forward to 2013. I decided to make some big changes to bring happiness and health back into my life. I started by looking at photo albums of when I was young. "Why was I so happy?" I asked myself. I reverse engineered five key things that I was doing then that I had lost sight of. First and foremost, I put my family first again. Secondly, I overhauled my approach to my health, which came in the form of sleeping 7 - 9 hours a night, eating a balanced diet, and exercising in the form of weight lifting and fun classes. Third, I brought back curiosity, exploration, and expression in the form of running scientific experiments and using graph paper, legos, and markers.

A Case for Content by Eloqua and JESS3

The study found that regular exercise can help reduce the decline in thinking abilities that often occurs with age. Specifically, aerobic exercise was shown to improve executive function and memory in adults aged 60-79 who exercised for 30-45 minutes three times per week over the course of a 6-month study.

This Dissertation explores the particular circumstances of Mirzapur, a region located in the
core of India. Mirzapur, with its varied terrains and abundant biodiversity, offers an optimal
environment for investigating the changes in vegetation cover dynamics. Our study utilizes
advanced technologies such as GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and Remote sensing to
analyze the transformations that have taken place over the course of a decade.
The complex relationship between human activities and the environment has been the focus
of extensive research and worry. As the global community grapples with swift urbanization,
population expansion, and economic progress, the effects on natural ecosystems are becoming
more evident. A crucial element of this impact is the alteration of vegetation cover, which plays a
significant role in maintaining the ecological equilibrium of our planet.Land serves as the foundation for all human activities and provides the necessary materials for
these activities. As the most crucial natural resource, its utilization by humans results in different
'Land uses,' which are determined by both human activities and the physical characteristics of the
land.
The utilization of land is impacted by human needs and environmental factors. In countries
like India, rapid population growth and the emphasis on extensive resource exploitation can lead
to significant land degradation, adversely affecting the region's land cover.

- 5. Holy insinuation, Batman! “ immoral sex indoctrination ” “ perverted and immoral sex propagandists ” “ subjected to pornographic , immoral and medically false instruction”
- 6. And I started writing. It was now 2 am. And planning. And emailing.
- 7. Support started to pour in. My response was live by 1 pm. Others wanted to help. So I launched something else…
- 8. … a petition on Act.ly (and it “caught fire”). http://act.ly/e6
- 9. I also responded in the original medium. It ran online and in print as the “featured letter.”
- 10. I then ran targeted Facebook ads. The landing pages were my articles and petition.
