usually defined in terms of
their activity as hotlinks or
hyperlinks.

Hypermedia is linked not only with a text
but also involves linking various media
such as sound, images, animation or
video. An example of hypermedia could
be the program Encarta. By the other
hand multimedia is the use of variety of
media because it also involves different
tools including text, images, sound, video
and animations. An example of
multimedia is a storybook because
learners must start on the first page and
continue reading and only use extra
media to provide the sound and images.

Hypertexts are also defined as one of
the sustaining elements of the
developing information and
communication technologies with
regard to reading. Hypertexts are rich
reading environments that we
encounter in daily life and for
educational purposes.

(1) the students created active, creative, and effective learning process
independently in measuring and developing each step of listening
learning model.
(2) Interactive multimedia was effective learning media to improve
students’ critical listening skill.
(3) Critical listening strategy performance could improve students’ critical
listening ability so that this model is better to be applied as an
implementation of reference in listening learning model.
(4) Learning media with interactive multimedia can improve students’
critical listening skill than audio learning media because listening is not
only aural aspect but also visual aspect integrated with multimedia.

6. Speaking and Listening skill: Using
multimedia
Using media environments is convenient in itself, indeed, because it
gives us the possibility to choose what is appropriate for us at a
certain period of time. Hoven (1999) asserts that computers allow
L2 learners to determine the way and the pace that suits them and
their needs. For example, when an ESL practice is in class, s/he
can have access to the internet, TV/video to watch movies or
educative programs in the target language, or study on a
listening/speaking application using a computer on his/her own.
Ehsani et. al. (1998) emphasize that by combining sound, vision,
text, video and animation, this self-paced interactive learning
environments create much more educative and creative classroom
environments.

7. When it comes to speaking practice via the internet, there are
cheap, useful and wise solutions available. For example, Skype,
Facebook, MSN Messenger, GoogleTalk and similar VoIP
applications can be used to connect a native speaker on the
internet and realize a real-time conversation for free.

8. Improve writing with tools and
multimedia resources
The writing skills are increasingly important for businesses today as
email, letters and documents need to be produced and published in
shorter time periods.
In the past decade, the rapid progress and expansion of the internet
and multimedia, has provided several new ways for collaboration at
regional, national and international levels. One emerging tool used
to serve this increased online discussion and interaction is "wiki". In
particular, wiki has emerged for the teaching and learning of writing.
