Data on Fixed Lines vs Cellular Essay examples
In this paper I will go over the pros and cons of having a purely fixed line network vs. a purely
cellular network. When making this decision there are several things to consider, the most important is
what this network is going to be used for. I am going to first go over the fixed line network then
follow up with the cellular network. At the end of this paper I will do a recommendation to a new
company that wants to open up a Skype style service as to whether they should use a fixed line or a
cellular network. Fixed line telephones was the main form of communication in 1877 and this was the
case up to the time when cellular phone came into the world. Fixed lines are in every home and
building today so everyone has the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Network security is very important on any network with a DSL connection on a fixed line there is no
change in the network security. Network security would be handled by a firewall that would be
handled by the modem and of course at the device itself. Then the subscriber or company would
themselves use additional software for further protection. Troubleshooting is handled by both the
subscriber and Telephone Company. There is a way to determine where one ends and the other begins
this is known as the demarcation line. This is usually where the wiring enters the home or building.
But this really depends on if this is a single occupant property or a multiple occupant property. The
failover solution when using a fixed line service for Internet connection would be to have back up
equipment available for the site and for the Telephone Company it would be good to know at the
central office there is additional servers just in case there is a malfunction. When it comes to the data
itself it is always important to have a backup ran on a daily or weekly basis depending on the
importance of the data. When Cellular phones first came out the main use was to make phone calls.
The first generation of the cell phone transmitted information the same analog format as a fixed line.
The second generation (2G) transmission switched to digital which gave cell phones the ability to
transmit and receive voice and data. When

Istj Case Study
After taking the survey I learned that I was an Introverted Sensing Thinking Judging or ISTJ. ISTJ s
are known for keeping the rules and not liking things that have unclear rules. They also hate when
things or people have inconsistencies, or when people do not keep up their end of an agreement. They
love being apart of organized groups such as government, schools, the military, and churches because
they all have a set way of doing things and do not sway in their beliefs. Their social skills are excellent
because they are precise and to the point. Feelings are something that ISTJ s have a hard time
discussing, because feelings are random and out of their control. When ISTJ s are learning something

Eagles s NFL Draft
In last year s NFL Draft, the Eagles used their first two picks to address the defensive side of the
football. With their first round selection, they took defensive end Derek Barnett, who carved out his
role and racked up five sacks. In the second round, the Eagles drafted cornerback Sidney Jones, who
slid in the draft due to a torn Achilles but played in the regular season finale against the Dallas
Cowboys. Fast forward to this year s draft and the Eagles replicated this same philosophy in the fourth
round. With their first pick in the round, the team took speedy cornerback Avonte Maddox out of the
University of Pittsburgh. After that, the Eagles used their second fourth round pick on Florida State
defensive end Josh Sweat. Sweat has a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, Sweat defied the odds. He started in nine games as a freshman and put together a good
collegiate career. Over his three year career at Florida State, Sweat compiled 138 total tackles, 24
tackles for loss, and 12 sacks. Last season a junior, Sweat had a career year with 56 total tackles, 12
tackles for loss, and five sacks. He left his mark on every game and caused havoc in the backfield.
When you turn on Sweat s tape, you can see why the Eagles front office was intrigued by him during
the draft process. Even though he is only 6 foot 5 and 250 lbs., which could be look at as small for a
defensive end, Sweat continuously put pressure on the opposing team s quarterback. The thing that
jumped out first watching him was his first step takeoff. This is a guy that can really gain ground on
his first two steps as an edge rusher. So he really pressures the outside shoulders and blockers, said
Eagles Vice President of Player Personnel Joe Douglas to reporters after the draft. In addition to his
good first step, Sweat has the speed to get around an offensive lineman to make a play in the
backfield. At the NFL combine, ran a 4.53 40 yard dash and 4.28 20 yard

Calamitatum Of The Individual Essay example
In the realm of critical thinking, Abelard undoubtedly ranked highly in his day. He was an expert
dialectician, philosopher and theologian, and as a result led a movement towards individual thinking.
He traveled a lonely path of individuality, and when his ideas were suppressed, he found different
ways to express his individuality. The beginning of his life was marked by extreme personal freedom.
As his journey through life continued, he found himself compounded with innumerable restrictions.
The role of monk could not change Abelard, and his individuality brought him even greater
misfortune. He may forewarn others against the risks of such extreme individualism, but his life
clearly shows that Abelard thought his individuality was a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As he tells us, the whole world at his feet. In the Story of My Calamities, he confesses that at that
period of his life he was filled with vanity and pride. quot;I began to think myself the only philosopher
in the world, with nothing to fear from anyone, and so I yielded to the lusts of the flesh. quot; (p.65,
ll.13 15). The first part of this statement is a window into what made Abelard an individual. He felt
that he did not have to follow the same rules that other people did because he was superior to them.
The result was a man that did things differently, for better or for worse.
The second part of that statement lead Abelard down his next path of individuality, the first to cause
him physical pain. To these faults he attributes his downfall, which was as swift and tragic as was
everything, seemingly, in his dazzling career. He tells us in graphic language the tale of how he fell in
love with Heloise, niece of Canon Fulbert. In the midst of his exploits he met Heloise, and in the first
time writing about her in The Story of My Calamities he describes her individuality. quot;...in the
extent of her learning she stood supreme.
A gift for letters is so rare in women that it added greatly to her charm and had won her renown
throughout the realm. quot; (p.66 ll.15 17). This shows that Abelard valued individuality highly in
others as well as in himself. He arranged an agreement with

The Inequality Between Men And Women
Throughout the history of mankind, women have not been in the workforce until recently. A woman s
place has mainly been at the home, until only about sixty years ago. Women would take care of the
children, cook, clean, care for the sick, and when needed, they would be extra labor around the farm.
Women first started to work in large numbers during the industrial revolution, mainly in the textile
industry. Since then, most women have gone into the workforce. Today a family cannot survive on the
wages of the man alone. However, even though women are needed to work, they still do not make as
much as men. There are still inequalities between men and women, and there is still a large wage gap.
Women today make about eighty cents on the dollar that a man makes. Some careers have a higher
wage gap, and the careers that are dominated mainly by women, like nursing, have a more equal wage
to men. The mortuary science field is not different than the other careers. Women are not currently
dominating this field, so they are not paid as much as men are. Women have faced bias through
history, and women in the mortuary science field still face it today. There are many different reasons
bias remains in this industry. One reason is that women are thought of as not being strong enough to
physically lift the dead. However, women can be as strong as any man, and if not they will find a way
to complete the job. Another reason there is bia, is because women are thought of as emotional. With

The Jerry Springer Show By David Coffman Summary
In the passage, Coffman presents the argument that other companies should have the consequences
that major tobacco companies had of paying a financial settlement in the field of legal but harmful
products. Other products are alcohol and gun companies of which Coffman believes to be in the
category of legal but harmful. Other manufacturers should not have to pay a financial settlement
because of the idea of self determination, and that a financial settlement does not resolve the conflict.
A reason as to why other companies should not have to pay a financial settlement is because of self
determination. Going from health lungs to risks of lung cancer because of tobacco did not happen
because of the company, it happened because the user allowed it to happen. An example of this is the
fast food industries, especially McDonalds, who are frequently hated for making society obese, for
their fattening and unhealthy foods. It is a common ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Receiving money from a company because their product has caused harm to a person is not a solution
because all it does is put a little amount of cash into your pocket. A credible example is the music,
popular culture, and media; particularly the Jerry Springer Show. The Jerry Springer Show influences
violence in an obvious manner, they allow fights to spark and spread like a wildfire without any ways
to extinguish it, therefore people are always getting harmed. However through this whole thing,
citizens who star on an episode expect something in the end of it, like sympathy and even money...
Ultimately, what would be received in the end of things, extra pocket change but you still do not have
your husband or baby in terms of the Jerry Springer Show. In other words, you try to get money out of
something that s your fault because of self determination but expect what you receive to be a long

Restoring The American Way Of Life
Kimberly Phan
Professor Kirby
English 1B, section 39

Restoring what was Lost
Much of what many of us consider the American way of life is embedded of a broad shared economic
growth, between 1900s and 1979. During that time period, every American from each generation
improved than the one from before their time. Even those who had to endure through the Great
Depression made up what was lost. By then, America went into an era that economists call the Great
Compression, where workers captured a share of the economy s growth. Nowadays, there seems to be
a lot of divergence about what really happened. In hopes of simply going back to where we once were,
I feel that people are not embracing the future, but running away to ... Show more content on

Schor describes what she calls competitive consumption and that the real reason for this economic
crisis is due to the desire for things we do not need. When it comes to the topic of financial crisis in an
American household, most of us will readily agree that national debt has affected millions of people.
Where this agreement usually ends, however, is on the question of where the money was spent that
cause this economic difficulty. I find Schor s belief of heavily indebted consumers to splurge on
luxury items inaccurate. On the other hand, Warren s theory of cost living in different time periods is
extremely useful because it sheds insight on the problems we are facing today, and the financial
stability for numerous middle class Americans is all too fragile. Schor, a professor at Boston College,
argues that we are living in the cycle of work and spent which motivates the people to spend longer
hours of work in order to buy materialistic items based on their appearance to the world. She states the
competitive consumption has shifted out to the vast majority of the population and the media has a
very pronounced bias towards showing upscaled or affluent consumption (Schor). Schor highlights the
kinds of socially visible items become increasingly important as a part of a competitive consumer
system. And because of that, the growth of the aspiration gap has led American

6.2.1 Results of Compressive Strength Test
For compressive strength test, cube specimens of dimensions 150 x 150 x 150 mm were cast for M60
grade of concrete. The moulds were filled with different proportions of cement, metakaolin and Fly
Ash. Vibration was given to the moulds using the table vibrator. The top surface of specimen was
leveled and finished. After 24 hours the specimens were demoulded and were being transferred to
curing tank where in they were allowed to cure for 7,28and 56 days. After 7,28and 56 days curing,
these cubes were tested on a digital compression testing machine as per I.S. 516 1959[14].
The failure load was noted. In each category, three cubes were tested and their average value is being
reported.
The compressive strength was calculated as follows:
Compressive strength (MPa) = Failure load / cross sectional area.
Results of Compressive strength with different % of FA and Metakaolin is tabulated as

Racism In Australia
Australia is a nation of immigrants. It has become a vibrant diverse place where tolerance equality are
both accepted expected by its people as part of their way of life. It is also considered as one of the
world s most culturally diverse countries. In fact, it was the egalitarian streak in Australia s national
character that facilitated the development of contemporary multiculturalism of Australia.
Immigration Nation showed how Australia transformed from a country which aims to exclude all non
European races, to one of the most multicultural places on earth. Australia made massive changes in

Child Sexual Abuse In Canada
In 2008 the findings of the Public Health Agency of Canada estimated 235,315 investigations of child
abuse. This investigation stated that the primary categories of maltreatment includes physical abuse,
sexual abuse, neglect, emotional maltreatment, and exposure to intimate partner violence (Public
Health Agency of Canada, 2010). However, sexual maltreatment of children wasn t truly defined until
1974 when Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act provided us with a legal definition of sexual
abuse (Feerick et al., 2006):
The employment, use, persuasion, inducement, enticement, or coercion of any child to engage in, or

CIS 2008 states that Sexual abuse contained nine forms: penetration, attempted penetration, oral sex,
fondling, sex talk or images, voyeurism, exhibitionism, exploitation, and other sexual abuse (Public
Health Agency of Canada, 2010). However, different places state similar or other forms of sexual
abuse, such as is shown to us by McCoy and Keen when it comes to Florida s statute.
In Florida many different forms are included beginning with penetration, whether it be full or slight,
either done vaginally or anal, and there may or may not be emission of semen. Next, Intrusion into
genitals or anal opening by any object that isn t the perpetrator s genitals or intimate parts is also
included as well as the intentional masturbating of the perpetrator. Finally, the intentional exposure of
the perpetrator s genitals and sexual exploitation of the child are included in the statute (McCoy and
Keen, 2014). Exploitation of children is often addressed alongside maltreatment and is described as a
child being involved in, allowed to, encourage to, or being forced

12. With reference to the previous question, what are the drawbacks of the other two conversion
methods?
Using the double dabble method does not require remembering several different rules such as what
signed to use and which number to add or subtract from, it is straightforward math.
13. What is overflow and how can it be detected? How does overflow in unsigned numbers differ from
overflow in signed numbers?
Overflow is when you have a carryover of a number, thus giving the wrong sign example causing two
numbers to be added together, giving the result a negative number. It can be detected by simply
knowing if the carry into signed bit equals the carry out signed bit, no overflow has occurred in
unsigned numbers. We know they are positive so overflow does not change this, it will always remain
positive, while in signed numbers. This overflow, unless programmed correctly, could change the
entire outcome of the intended result.
14. If a computer is capable only of manipulating and storing integers, what difficulties present
themselves? How are these difficulties overcome?
Should the programmer of the system not take appropriate measures to check all be code written for a

This figure shows the difference among the average speeds at which the spinach dots raised every
minute when they photosynthesized under light with 4 different wavelengths respectively in 7
minutes. The goal of the experience was to explore how the wavelength of light could impact the speed
of photosynthesis. It was hypothesized that comparing to spinach dots under white light, the dots
under red light and blue light would raise slightly slower, and the dots under green light would not
raise up. In this experiment, the independent variable was the color (wavelength) of the light, and the
dependent variable was the speed at which the spinach dots raised. The comparative group was the
group with white light. For each trial of the experiment, 20 spinach dots which were infiltrated with
sodium bicarbonate solution were put into a beaker with the same kind of solution plus a drop of soap.

The Consequences Of The Blockade Of Qatar
On October 25, 2017, The Guardian reported that Egypt, Bahrain, UAE, and Saudi Arabia s blockade
of Qatar has the potential to create long lasting rifts in the region. In June of this year, the
aforementioned nations all cut off diplomatic ties with the small peninsular nation of Qatar. Saudi
Arabia and UAE said that diplomatic and economic relations would be restored once Qatar has broken
all of its links with the Muslim Brotherhood, Hamas, and Iran. Qatar emphatically denied that it had
any financial links with those extremist groups. This stalemate has led to a long lasting blockade that

Fearing uprisings of their own, nations such as the United Arab Emirates backed Saudi Arabia. When
Hamad abdicated the throne in 2013, it appeared that Qatar s international influence would end. Until
this year, that certainly seemed to be the case. Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain, and Egypt enacted a
blockade of Qatar, which prompted an international response. President Trump and the United States
appeared to back Saudi Arabia, while Iran and Turkey, two regional powers, backed Qatar.
The blockade of Qatar is throwing the long held status quo of the region into disarray. All of the Arab
Gulf states are allies of the United States and currently Saudi Arabia, UAE, and Bahrain are imposing
the blockade on Qatar, with Kuwait staying neutral. The involvement of the United States, Turkey and
Iran seems to indicate that this conflict was more than just a petty dispute between the gulf states. In
this unipolar world, it would make sense that once a dominant power chooses a side, a conflict such as
this one would soon meet its conclusion. However, even with the United States involvement, the Qatar
blockade has been in effect for five months and has no end in sight. This would seem to indicate that
perhaps the United States is not as powerful as previously thought. This leads me to ask the following
question: How does the blockade of Qatar impact American goals in the Middle East.

Walter Mitty Ambivalence
Around half of man s thoughts are daydreams, according to a 2009 neurological study. This supports
the thought that daydreaming is a gateway that allows the mind to wonder, not just wander. Therefore,
people like Walter Mitty who constantly seem to be daydreaming aren t that uncommon or abnormal.
Walter Mitty shouldn t be looked down upon or pitied, but instead should be praised for his constant
awareness of his own mind s thoughts, as this continuously happens to everyone. However, Walter
Mitty s wife seems to have little care and respect for her husband s constant delusions, even though
this is perfectly normal. In fact, it is highly likely that she is also wrapped in her own delusions just as
often as him. A study in 2010 by Harvard found that people s minds tend to wander for around 46.9
percent of the time, but no less than about 30 percent during almost every activity. This in itself shows
that it is not unlikely that they are both slipping out of reality about as often as the other and yet she
still chooses to think he is ill or losing his mind. She even states her intention to check his temperature

Representation is something that had been emphasized in the past few years. Especially, for people
color. It matters because it affects the way people, particulary children, view themselves as they go
throughout life. For this activity, I headed down to Wal Mart to take note of group based differences in
what is being sold in the store.
It was surprising to see the diversity of Barbie dolls that were on the shelves. There were several
Black dolls, a few Latina dolls, and a couple of Asian dolls. There was even a Black Barbie where the
packaging had a little sign on it that mentioned activated curls to mimic the hair textures of black
women. Of course, there was plenty of white Barbie dolls, considering that the brand itself when it
started only had white dolls. Unfortunately, Wal Mart does not sell G.I. Joe action figures. However,
the action figures that were sold there were mostly white men or non terrestrial characters that are
played by white actors. There was only one black action figure, a character from Star Wars. In total,
there were eighteen Barbie and action figures of color as well as forty three white Barbie dolls and

sport or not, that featured Native Americans as a mascot or whatnot. It is possible that Wal Mart s

Although there is some interest in the potential that Sense proposes, there are ethical concerns as to
the information that businesses will have access to. Do you feel that the privacy risks surrounding

not one who likes everyone to know everything about me. I am somewhat personal and only divulge

my money; why do they need more? I do think if Sense put out an application that was strictly for cell

The Globalization Of A Multinational Corporation
A Multinational corporation is a corporation that does business in two or more countries. It has its
home base in its own country, but has branches or subsidiaries in other countries. Their home base is
the company s identity. For example Toyota is Japanese even though it operates in the United States.
With modern technology and improvement in communications, transportation and infrastructure,
corporations are venturing beyond national boundaries in the pursuit of business opportunities. Their
size provides them the opportunity to achieve markets and increase their scale in manufacturing and
development outside their local market. In other words, multinational companies are going global.

Managerial Styles and Culture Shock: Difference between Japan and United States
The Japanese managerial styles go as far back as Empiricism. Japanese live to work for their
company. Japanese are loyal to the company first whereas the Americans are loyal to self. Japanese
management sees employees as their most important resources and are required to contribute ideas to
improve the corporation; whereas Americans see employees as expendable. Japanese management
sees the company as one group and the whole group must succeed. Decision making in Japan is a long
process, in many stages to minimize errors and bring consistency but once a decision is made,
everybody is on the same page. In the United States management makes quicker decisions that
sometimes can lead to short sightedness. It is probably because the Japanese are all one culture and
Americans come from a variety of backgrounds. The Japanese management believe in continuous

Fiscal deficit
In a system of indicative planning reliance, fiscal policy plays an instrumental role in the economy of

Anti Gun Laws
In the United States there are a lot of different views about guns and gun laws. As a hunter and
outdoorsman, I own guns and use guns. As a gun owner, I believe there should be some laws and
restrictions however not a ban. Some believe all guns are bad and the only solution to end gun
violence is to ban all guns. However, people have to realize that most gun crimes are committed by
stolen or illegal fire arms. If somehow I could change the way most view guns, and to help end the
argument on the ban of firearms, it would be one less thing Americans have to argue about. There are
many kinds of guns and reasons to have guns. The most common reasons are hunting, sport shooting,
and protection. Rifles and shotguns are generally used for hunting

crime scenes; from homicide to rape. Forensic technicians can determine the distance of a shot based
on power residue, they can compare cartridge cases and bullets to particular guns possibly used at the

In other words, the more complex the product is, the more variables there are to consider in
developing a sales forecast, especially for an organization with a new innovation that has no product
history to use to create forecasts. This is especially true of new products in the pharmaceutical
industry. It is also likely that the additional variables that will be discussed here were also factors that
could have been modified to be included as part of the Australian firms described above to further
analyze the results of each of these organizations in the study in order to improve forecasting.
Some of the variables that must be considered regarding the pharmaceutical industry might include
consumer awareness of the disease state and the amount of advertising as well as the number of
vendors selling similar items (Cook, 2006). Cost is also a factor, as is the propensity for a given
physician to correctly diagnose the disease state that the product covers. Additional factors that affect
whether a given patient will actually fill the prescription and use the medication might include the side

Cancer is an important global health issue which affects millions of people annually and burdens
national health systems. Despite modest reductions in the incidence of certain cancer types, overall the
prevalence of cancer is increasing worldwide (1). It has been estimated that approximately 14.1

Analysis Of English Tense And Aspect
Analyzing English tense and aspect is presented with the idea that it has temporal relations within a
sentence. The reference points are used by the terminal and initial points of real time events. There is
also two hypothetical times: (Dalrymple pg. 68): the perfect time (that is pertaining to the perfect
aspect) and the progressive (which is during time). When continuing analysis of tense and aspect, it
requires to identify if the relationships will or will not substantiate among time and events. For
instance if I say Ken ate a frozen dinner, it can be established that this sentence is past tense, and it
includes that the time of this main event which is eating a frozen dinner precedes the time of statement
within this sentence. In ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Examples: (note: S stands for speech time. R for reference time. E for event time.) These examples
will provide a visual as to what was explained above.
Present Tense: E, R, S I am in California.
Past Tense: E, R......S I was in California when I saw her.
Past Perfect: E....R....S I had been in California when I saw her.
Future Perfect: S....E....R I will have been to California when is see you next.
It can be seen from these classifications of tenses above that the relative tenses and the reference time
are split apart(this is what the use of the periods are for to demonstrate the time splits). Another thing
to analyze is that only in the future perfect tense does speech time occurs first in the sentence.
In addressing the past perfect tense, the lecture states that the role of the past perfect is backshifting in
the sequence of tense which is why I represented the time split from event time, reference time and
speech time apart us such.
Other examples offered: He said that he preferred the darker cigars. (past tense=present tense) He said
that he had selected the darker cigar. ( past perfect= present tense)
These examples display the ideal of backshifting. Both instances of these sentences are in the past in
time, however they can be interpreted as an event currently happening now.
The lecture from the University of Colorado also offers this analogy to better understand aspect versus
tense:

American Revolution Social Changes
The American Revolution was the point of change in the world. It was the first time that a democratic
government was developed and tested in a time where monarchies ruled Europe and it was the time
when the world saw that the concept of democracy could lead to the fundamental change in society,
specifically politically, socially, and economically. However, even though it was the point in change
for the world, to what extent did it change American society politically, socially, and economically in
the period between 1775 1800? The answer is that political, social, and economic effects of the
American Revolution impacted society to different extents and established ideas that would later
influence future movements and changes in America.
First, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Primarily, the Declaration was the main source of inspiration for social change towards women. The
very structure of the Declaration and the very language of it saying that all men are created equal led
to future movements for women s rights. For example, although 50 years out of the given time period,
the Seneca Falls Convention was the first major event in US history where women s rights were
presented and stood up for by using the Declaration for a basis of argument (those at the convention
rewrote the Declaration but wherever the word men was they replaced it with men and women ).
Arguments for the basis of women s rights also came from within the given time period as shown by
the drawing of a Patriot Woman holding a musket standing outside of a fort that has the English flag
waving on it signifying the belief that women can fight for their country just as well as men can [Doc.

Wallace says what then must my situation be, when my sex, my youth and inexperience all conspire to
make tremble at the task at which I have undertaken? in reference to women s inability to gain an
education. Therefore by the arguments presented, one can see that the American Revolution era was
the starting point in which ideas for social change, especially towards women s equality, was the
inspiration for future events and changes in American

Lindbergh Kidnapping Essay
Imagine a child being kidnapped in the middle of the night. Anne and Lindbergh were living in their

Hauptmann s, on the night of March 1, 1932, kidnapped and murdered Charles Lindbergh s son. In the
controversial court case of the Lindbergh Kidnapping, the guilty verdict correctly prosecuted
Hauptmann with key evidence: the ladder, ransom notes, and ransom money.
The ransom money could trace be traced back to Hauptmann in several ways. A gas station attendant

(2008). Four witnesses were there to rebut ,but were not needed because the defense could not
produce a qualified witness to say that Hauptmann had not written the ransom notes. Furthermore
Hauptmann speech patterns also help to point that he wrote the ransom notes. When Hauptmann was
examined in the Bronx on Oct 3, 1934 by Dr. James Huddleson, he admitted to an occasional speaking
defect of adding a final e sound to many words... Koenigsberg, A. (2000, November 19). This was
noticeable in both English and German which correlates to the way the ransom notes were written.
Examples of the ransom notes include note for not and cane for can . The ransom notes were to be
Hauptmann s responsibility alone. The ladder is key evidence tying Hauptmann to the kidnapping.
Hauptmann had a drawing of the ladder in his sketchbook. The dimensions were very close to the
actual ladder. Yet it is identical in mortise construction of the kidnap ladder, with the same indented
rungs. He did not name the itinerant artist Koenigsberg, A. (2000, November 19). Hauptmann had a

Tic Tac s Brand Recognition Essay
The Ferrero Group has a successful and popular product (Tic Tac) that has remained a top competitor
in the breath mint industry. They have been able to remain competitive by upgrading their product
throughout the years. Tic Tac s brand recognition began in 1969 and The Ferrero Group started to
introduce new flavors in the 1970s. In the 1980s, to keep up with the health craze, they marketed Tic
Tac as The 1 1/2 Calorie Breath Mint . They would also introduce many other flavors over the next 20
years to further diversify flavor options.
In my opinion, the most innovative idea was the flip top packaging in a clear container. This
packaging design distinguished Tic Tac from other breath mints. However, Tic Tac could not remain at
the top forever. Other mints, such as the Altoids, began to enter the market and threaten Tic Tac s
competitive edge. The Ferrero Group saw this as another opportunity for change. In 2008, they
introduced the Tic Tac Chill. The Chill mints were expected to cater for the sugar free and strong
flavoring product segments, two of the fastest growing segments in the United States. The Ferrero
Group found profound interest from their target market of consumers in the 25 to 45 age group. They
also introduced this new mint with a new packaging. The new packaging continued to maintain the
essence of the classic packaging. It still featured a transparent design and the flip top. However, the

The Case Buck Versus Bell
Many people have heard of the case Buck versus Bell. This was a land mark supreme court case in
1927. This case basis is eugenics, which is the science of improving a human population by controlled
breeding. Most people today would disagree with this on premise alone. In the case Buck versus Bell
the decision being heard was can doctors sterilize patients that were feeble minded or have epilepsy.
As Carrie s story unfolds you will see not only is feeble minded a broad term She was wronged not
only on the merits of the case, but in the process of justice.
Carrie Buck was placed in a home called Virginia Colony for Epileptics and Feebleminded alongside
her mother. Now at the time there were other states practicing eugenics. This was the first case to
challenge Virginia s 1924 ruling allowing it. Carrie and her mom were labeled feeble minded and
promiscuous. They would later go on to label Carrie daughter Vivian feeble minded also.
Let us take a step back. Carrie was born in Charlottesville Virginia. Her birth took place on July 2,
1906. Her father Frank W. Buck passed away when she was only a young girl. Her mother was
committed, when Carrie was still young. The mother was committed for feeble mindedness. This was
not a medical decision, but the doctor s belief that Carrie was an illegitimate child. Carrie was placed
into foster care at the age of three.

revolutionize the U.S. health care system. The expectation was to make the health care more
affordable to everyone. In doing this unexpected challenges to the health care system providers arose.
When the newly insured were provided with health care coverage many of the newly insured try to use
their health benefits. Health care providers reported higher than expected use of oncology, maternity,
musculoskeletal and other specialty services, from the newly insured. As the population of health care
users grew in size after the ACA the health care labor force did not grow appropriately to
accommodate such drastic changes in the frequent usage of health care facilities by the newly insured.
According to the Health Care Worker Shortage: Suggested Responses from the Surgical Community
by Jeanette and Andrew, the demand for healthcare professionals was predicted to grow about 25%
between 2002 and 2010. Registered nurses (RNs), the largest healthcare professional group in the
U.S., were particularly in demand. Of the 2.7 million RNs registered in 2002, only 10% were less than
30 years of age, and the average age, 45 years old according to 2002 data, had been increasingly
steadily. The number of new entrants into the

Poetry Of Sappho And Catullus
The Ancient poetry of Sappho and Catullus has drawn many comparisons since their origins. In
particular, Catullus s poem 51 is a direct adaptation of Sappho s 31. This symmetricality of the two
poems allows for perfect comparison to highlight the ways in which the styles of the poets differ or
resemble the other. While both Sappho and Catullus write of love, uncontrollable desire, and the
overwhelming affect it has on them, Catullus brings a certain ego and self centeredness to his poem, in
turn changing the entire mood of the poem.
In both 31 and 51, the poets describe the overwhelming sensation of love and lust for a lover. Both
Sappho and Catullus manage to capture their affection and desire for their love, as well as the toll that
this lust takes on their psyche but in doing so shed very different light on the process. Sappho s poem s
depth and faith in love create a positive tone to the poem, while Catullus s ego and fear tinge his poem
with sadness and negativity. Sappho is able to portray this overpowering response as something
thrilling and exciting. She takes the nervous energy associated with attraction and with the love of
another, and shows that it is worthwhile. The positivity that she is able to weave through her poem
while at the same time portraying the nervousness at the beginning of attraction paints a realistic
picture of love. In the finale line of her poem, Sappho states, all is to be dared, illustrating how the
love of another, for Sappho, is

The Body Image Portrayed By Modern Day Fitness Advertisements
The body image portrayed by modern day fitness advertisements is leading people to view themselves
as a lesser person if they are not fit. Modern day fitness advertisements generally contain models that
are either in very good shape or are very attractive. This is not done unintentionally. Advertisement
companies know that many of the people who go to the gym don t look like these models. The
advertisers also know that people want to look like these models. That is why they place them in the
advertisements. People at home see the ad showing very fit and attractive people, and they think that
they should be like that too. Fitness advertisements are trying to express to people that they could be a
better person if they just joined the gym or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The second advertisement, Sports Life Fitness Club, is different in its approach by just using imagery
with very little text. The main image of the advertisement is a man in a swimming pool. The image
depicts the man s lower body as in shape and muscular, but his upper body is large and overweight.
Imagery like this, once again, exemplifies how the fitness industry will go to great lengths to get the
image of the perfect you in the minds of their potential customers. The perfect you is an unattainable
thing. Fitness advertiser know this, but they use this knowledge to get their potential customer to think
that the perfect you is obtainable. Many times you will see this around the holidays. There are many
more advertisements for gyms around the holidays because advertisers know that many people s
resolutions have to do with going to the gym. Their job is to sell the idea of the perfect you regardless
of if it is obtainable. This second advertisement also shows how our current society thinks. Regardless
of the gender of the person in this advertisement, it is apparent to me that this ad is saying that to be
attractive you have to be at a particular level of fitness. This advertisement might not say outright that
the accepted form of attractiveness is fit, but it does hint at it. Why else would the person depicted be

LEGT 1710 BUSINESS LAW ASSIGNMENT 2 1 Introduction Vincent is demanding compensation
from Claude for the damages incurred from the paints provided. Claude, however, refuses this claim
by arguing that he is protected by an exclusion clause the words on the receipt and sign. Given that
negligence was apparent and that the exclusion clause did not fall foul of any statutory regulations;
whether Vincent will be successful in his claim, ultimately lies in the question was Vincent bound by
the words on the receipt or sign?. To reach a conclusion regarding this issue, it is necessary to examine
the following legal matters raised: 1 2 1. 2. 3. 2 Are these words considered to have contractual effect?

customer took it and retained it without objection, his act was regarded as an acceptance of the offer
Thornton v Shoe Lane Parking (1971). As such, the point of acceptance by Claude is taken to be the
time when the contract was made. 17 A reasonable person would agree, the receipt handed over by
Claude would have taken place after the payment was accepted and therefore the clause was
introduced in a belated manner as the judges in the previously mentioned case Thornton v Shoe Land
Parking (1971) inferred notice of the exclusion clause should have been given before the ticket was
issued. 18 Consequently, Claude‟s only hope of being protected lies within the clause printed on the
sign at the counter. To be effectively exempt of any of Vincent‟s claims, Claude must prove that
Vincent knew of this clause or that reasonable notice was given prior to the contract being made. 19
What constitutes reasonable notice is a question of the facts. 21 20 However, as stated

Preservation of Innocence In The Catcher in the Rye Essay
Themes in literary works are central, recurring ideas or messages that allow us to understand more
deeply about the characters. It is a perception about life or human nature that is often shared with the
reader. In The Catcher in the Rye, there are several themes that can be found in the words and actions
of the narrator, Holden Caulfield. The dominating theme in this novel is the preservation of innocence,
especially of children. We can see this throughout the novel, as Holden strives to preserve innocence
in himself and others. In The Catcher in the Rye, Holden s outlook in life is either the innocence of
childhood or the cruelty of adulthood. He believes that the innocence of childhood is very valuable
and it should be protected from ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Holden is talking about protecting the children so they will not experience the cruelty of the adult
world. If he catches the children before they fall, he will preserve their innocence and keep them from
the cruelties of the adult world. Holden s only desire and goal in life is to be the catcher in the rye
because is the only job that is appealing to him where he can shows his love and protection for
childhood innocence, That s all I d do all day. I d just be the catcher in the rye and all. I know it s
crazy, but that s the only thing I d really like to be (173). Holden does not want adolescents to become
adults because he believes that adults are corrupt and he wants to protect them from this corruptness.
This is seen when Holden tries to erase the swearing words on the walls of an elementary school that
Phoebe attends. Holden angrily tells us, ... I saw something that drove me crazy. Somebody d written
Fuck you on the wall... I thought how Phoebe and all the other little kids would see it, and how they d
wonder what the hell it meant... (201). Holden was angered because this proves that the innocent
world of children has already been corrupted by the profanities of the adult world. In addition,
profanity in such places like an elementary school distresses him because he associates it with Phoebe,
little kids, and innocence. Thus, their innocence is tainted by these profanity words on the walls. He
does not feel comfortable allowing small children to be

Acid-Base Titration Lab Report
Mariam Sy May 8, 2014
Acid Base Titration Lab Write up
Introduction:
Titration is the process of adding measured volumes of a base or acid with a known concentration to
an acid or base with an unknown concentration in order to determine the unknown concentration.
Volume measurements play an important role in titration. It involves measuring the exact volume of a
solution with a known concentration that will react with a measured volume of a solution that has an
unknown concentration. The solution that has a known concentration is called a standard solution.
Acid base titration is based on neutralization that occurs in the reaction. If a base is added to an acid
until the acid is neutralized, then the moles of base and the moles of acid will be equal. In other words,
the moles of H+ ions must equal the number of moles of OH ions. The following equation can be used
to calculate the unknown molarity of an acidic or basic solution: (Molarity of the acid) * (Volume of
the acid) = (Molarity of the Base) * (Volume of the Base) or MaVa = MbVb. Equivalence point is
when there is enough of the standard solution to neutralize the unknown solution.
The endpoint is when the indicator changes color. The difference between the equivalence point and
the endpoint is that the equivalence point is when the pH of the solution is 7 which means that it is
neutral. However, the endpoint is when the indicator turns either white which shows that the solution
is acidic or pink which

Analysis Of The Painting Two Women Of The Woods By Vincent...
On November 2013, at an auction in New York City, the painting Two women in the woods by
Vincent Van Gogh, a famous Dutch artist in expressionism and impressionism, was sold at the price of
$689,000 (Lot: 17 VINCENT VAN GOGH, 2013; Van Gogh, 2008). Besides, Silent Majority , a
painting by Banksy, an English graffiti artist, was brought to the auction in Paris and its recent price
has reached £445,792, which is roughly at $676,000 (Banksy, 2014; Banksy s Silent Majority fetches
more than £445k in Paris, 2015). As they are clearly seen, the prices for the two paintings are about
the same, which is interesting because one is obviously a well known artist all over the world, whereas
the other one is known for his graffiti paintings, which is also considered to be an act of vandalism all
along the walls in England. Therefore, what graffiti actually is and why there are two different
perspectives on the characteristics of graffiti is a cute issue. This essay will oppose the idea that
graffiti is vandalism by demonstrating two main points. First, graffiti is a type of art, and last but not
least, graffiti can help develop the economic as well as the job opportunities for lower income class.
Graffiti is more and more widely known and considered art. First of all, what is the definition of art?
Aristotle (300s B.C.E), a famous Greek philosopher, acknowledged that art is the realization in
external form of a true idea, and is traced back to that natural love of imitation, which

Analysis Of The Book Job As A Work On Human Suffering...
Over the past centuries, scholars have regarded the book of Job as the seminal and quintessential work
on human suffering and divine sovereignty. It has influenced the perspectives of both authors and
philosophers for millennia. To some of the greatest writers of the past few centuries, the book of Job is
presumed as one of the greatest, if not the greatest, literary work, especially on the topic of theodicy.
When regarding the book of Job, Victor Hugo stated, Tomorrow, if all literature was to be destroyed
and it was left to me to retain one work only, I should save Job . Poet Alfred Tennyson regarded the
book of Job as the greatest poem, whether of ancient or modern literature . United States senator
Daniel Webster exemplifies the book of Job as a work of literary genius...[it] is one of the most
wonderful productions of any age or of any language .
The placement of Job as a masterful work of literature notwithstanding, the versatility and wide
acceptance of the book of Job is due primarily to its investigation of the problem of evil and the desire
to distinguish how the sovereignty of God contends with theodicy. In the end, the overall message of
Job is not the problem of evil or the effect evil has on humanity, but rather God s sovereignty in the
face of evil. As this paper discusses the sovereignty of God, it is alluding to the ultimate power and
authority God has over all things, including evil.
By scrutinizing the theological perspectives shared by Job and

Essay about Possible Causes of the Holocaust
Most of the world will no longer deny the mass murder of millions of Jews during World War II (1939
1945). The Holocaust is not a secret anymore. But was the Holocaust the brainchild of a deviant
individual or was it an event that came only out of necessity? Was the Shoah intentional or was it
functional? Or will we ever know for sure? The answer to that question is no, at least not presently.
Historians searching for answers to the question of how the murder of a nation came about are often
led into a dead end. There is not a single document to be found affirming that genocide of the Jews
was the original plan. What documents can be located are filled with ambiguities and illusive
language. The Jews were often referred to as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There were death camps built specifically constructed to kill and dispose of the unwanted, the useless.
The Nazis were extreme anti Semitic propagandists, but what divides the functionalists from the
intentionalists are the interpretations of three major points: how one chooses to judge Hitler, the time
span between March of 1941 and the following autumn and how one follows the rhetoric of the Nazi
party.
First, one must take a close look at the leader of the Third Reich, Adolf Hitler. He became chancellor
in 1933 and Fuhrer in 1934, but his anti Semitic propaganda began long before then. The Nazi
campaign against the Jews started as early as 1929. There is no argument that Hitler hated and blamed
the Jewish people for Germany?s economic downfall following World War I, he even went so far as to
blame them for the loss of the war itself. According to intentionalists ?Hitler is seen as the driving
force of Nazi anti Semitic policy?? (Marrus, 35).
Intentionalist Lucy Dawidowicz argues that starting with Hitler?s attack on Poland in September
1939, he used the war to create confusion, to cover up his intentions of mass murder (Marrus, 35).
Hitler ran the Third Reich through verbal orders, rarely communicating with underlings, rather than
official documentation. Raul Hilberg refers to this as ?government by announcement? (Marrus, 34).
Hitler?s obsession with Jewish genocide became clearer as his

Then there is the game itself, which is also self changing every couple of weeks or so. These key
points help to define the game and give some consensus about how well the game actually is.
Firstly, there is how the people who play the game treat each other. There are generally two types of
players. One of these types of players are the people who treat everyone with respect and talk nicely
about others. The whole point of the game is to have fun and to play the way you want to play. These
are the people who you really should thank when in a game. They will help you to understand the
game and give many tips and tricks on how to play even better. Then you can continue playing with
them for even more help if needed. You can even add them to your friends list to just play a casual
game with them. These people are the persons players should look for. There are, however, some
people who aren t as great.
People do exist in the game where their only goal is making a player s life a virtual hell. These people
are often referred to as toxic players. These are the worst type of people as all they do is make the
game non pleasant. There are many different things they will do to take away the fun. They will
scream at you for every mistake you make, no matter how big. They assist the enemy team to make
sure that your team loses. They can even make players quit the round in the game because they
become sick of being harassed. In this game, you will defiantly encounter some of

  • 2. Data on Fixed Lines vs Cellular Essay examples In this paper I will go over the pros and cons of having a purely fixed line network vs. a purely cellular network. When making this decision there are several things to consider, the most important is what this network is going to be used for. I am going to first go over the fixed line network then follow up with the cellular network. At the end of this paper I will do a recommendation to a new company that wants to open up a Skype style service as to whether they should use a fixed line or a cellular network. Fixed line telephones was the main form of communication in 1877 and this was the case up to the time when cellular phone came into the world. Fixed lines are in every home and building today so everyone has the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Network security is very important on any network with a DSL connection on a fixed line there is no change in the network security. Network security would be handled by a firewall that would be handled by the modem and of course at the device itself. Then the subscriber or company would themselves use additional software for further protection. Troubleshooting is handled by both the subscriber and Telephone Company. There is a way to determine where one ends and the other begins this is known as the demarcation line. This is usually where the wiring enters the home or building. But this really depends on if this is a single occupant property or a multiple occupant property. The failover solution when using a fixed line service for Internet connection would be to have back up equipment available for the site and for the Telephone Company it would be good to know at the central office there is additional servers just in case there is a malfunction. When it comes to the data itself it is always important to have a backup ran on a daily or weekly basis depending on the importance of the data. When Cellular phones first came out the main use was to make phone calls. The first generation of the cell phone transmitted information the same analog format as a fixed line. The second generation (2G) transmission switched to digital which gave cell phones the ability to transmit and receive voice and data. When ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Istj Case Study After taking the survey I learned that I was an Introverted Sensing Thinking Judging or ISTJ. ISTJ s are known for keeping the rules and not liking things that have unclear rules. They also hate when things or people have inconsistencies, or when people do not keep up their end of an agreement. They love being apart of organized groups such as government, schools, the military, and churches because they all have a set way of doing things and do not sway in their beliefs. Their social skills are excellent because they are precise and to the point. Feelings are something that ISTJ s have a hard time discussing, because feelings are random and out of their control. • 4. Eagles s NFL Draft In last year s NFL Draft, the Eagles used their first two picks to address the defensive side of the football. With their first round selection, they took defensive end Derek Barnett, who carved out his role and racked up five sacks. In the second round, the Eagles drafted cornerback Sidney Jones, who slid in the draft due to a torn Achilles but played in the regular season finale against the Dallas Cowboys. Fast forward to this year s draft and the Eagles replicated this same philosophy in the fourth round. With their first pick in the round, the team took speedy cornerback Avonte Maddox out of the University of Pittsburgh. After that, the Eagles used their second fourth round pick on Florida State defensive end Josh Sweat. Sweat has a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, Sweat defied the odds. He started in nine games as a freshman and put together a good collegiate career. Over his three year career at Florida State, Sweat compiled 138 total tackles, 24 tackles for loss, and 12 sacks. Last season a junior, Sweat had a career year with 56 total tackles, 12 tackles for loss, and five sacks. He left his mark on every game and caused havoc in the backfield. When you turn on Sweat s tape, you can see why the Eagles front office was intrigued by him during the draft process. Even though he is only 6 foot 5 and 250 lbs., which could be look at as small for a defensive end, Sweat continuously put pressure on the opposing team s quarterback. The thing that jumped out first watching him was his first step takeoff. This is a guy that can really gain ground on his first two steps as an edge rusher. So he really pressures the outside shoulders and blockers, said Eagles Vice President of Player Personnel Joe Douglas to reporters after the draft. In addition to his good first step, Sweat has the speed to get around an offensive lineman to make a play in the backfield. At the NFL combine, ran a 4.53 40 yard dash and 4.28 20 yard ... • 5. Calamitatum Of The Individual Essay example In the realm of critical thinking, Abelard undoubtedly ranked highly in his day. He was an expert dialectician, philosopher and theologian, and as a result led a movement towards individual thinking. He traveled a lonely path of individuality, and when his ideas were suppressed, he found different ways to express his individuality. The beginning of his life was marked by extreme personal freedom. As his journey through life continued, he found himself compounded with innumerable restrictions. The role of monk could not change Abelard, and his individuality brought him even greater misfortune. He may forewarn others against the risks of such extreme individualism, but his life clearly shows that Abelard thought his individuality was a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As he tells us, the whole world at his feet. In the Story of My Calamities, he confesses that at that period of his life he was filled with vanity and pride. quot;I began to think myself the only philosopher in the world, with nothing to fear from anyone, and so I yielded to the lusts of the flesh. quot; (p.65, ll.13 15). The first part of this statement is a window into what made Abelard an individual. He felt that he did not have to follow the same rules that other people did because he was superior to them. The result was a man that did things differently, for better or for worse. The second part of that statement lead Abelard down his next path of individuality, the first to cause him physical pain. To these faults he attributes his downfall, which was as swift and tragic as was everything, seemingly, in his dazzling career. He tells us in graphic language the tale of how he fell in love with Heloise, niece of Canon Fulbert. In the midst of his exploits he met Heloise, and in the first time writing about her in The Story of My Calamities he describes her individuality. quot;...in the extent of her learning she stood supreme. A gift for letters is so rare in women that it added greatly to her charm and had won her renown throughout the realm. quot; (p.66 ll.15 17). This shows that Abelard valued individuality highly in others as well as in himself. He arranged an agreement with ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. The Inequality Between Men And Women Throughout the history of mankind, women have not been in the workforce until recently. A woman s place has mainly been at the home, until only about sixty years ago. Women would take care of the children, cook, clean, care for the sick, and when needed, they would be extra labor around the farm. Women first started to work in large numbers during the industrial revolution, mainly in the textile industry. Since then, most women have gone into the workforce. Today a family cannot survive on the wages of the man alone. However, even though women are needed to work, they still do not make as much as men. There are still inequalities between men and women, and there is still a large wage gap. Women today make about eighty cents on the dollar that a man makes. Some careers have a higher wage gap, and the careers that are dominated mainly by women, like nursing, have a more equal wage to men. The mortuary science field is not different than the other careers. Women are not currently dominating this field, so they are not paid as much as men are. Women have faced bias through history, and women in the mortuary science field still face it today. There are many different reasons bias remains in this industry. One reason is that women are thought of as not being strong enough to physically lift the dead. However, women can be as strong as any man, and if not they will find a way to complete the job. Another reason there is bia, is because women are thought of as emotional. With ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. The Jerry Springer Show By David Coffman Summary In the passage, Coffman presents the argument that other companies should have the consequences that major tobacco companies had of paying a financial settlement in the field of legal but harmful products. Other products are alcohol and gun companies of which Coffman believes to be in the category of legal but harmful. Other manufacturers should not have to pay a financial settlement because of the idea of self determination, and that a financial settlement does not resolve the conflict. A reason as to why other companies should not have to pay a financial settlement is because of self determination. Going from health lungs to risks of lung cancer because of tobacco did not happen because of the company, it happened because the user allowed it to happen. An example of this is the fast food industries, especially McDonalds, who are frequently hated for making society obese, for their fattening and unhealthy foods. It is a common ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Receiving money from a company because their product has caused harm to a person is not a solution because all it does is put a little amount of cash into your pocket. A credible example is the music, popular culture, and media; particularly the Jerry Springer Show. The Jerry Springer Show influences violence in an obvious manner, they allow fights to spark and spread like a wildfire without any ways to extinguish it, therefore people are always getting harmed. However through this whole thing, citizens who star on an episode expect something in the end of it, like sympathy and even money... Ultimately, what would be received in the end of things, extra pocket change but you still do not have your husband or baby in terms of the Jerry Springer Show. • 8. Restoring The American Way Of Life Kimberly Phan Professor Kirby English 1B, section 39 23 September 2014 Restoring what was Lost Much of what many of us consider the American way of life is embedded of a broad shared economic growth, between 1900s and 1979. During that time period, every American from each generation improved than the one from before their time. Even those who had to endure through the Great Depression made up what was lost. By then, America went into an era that economists call the Great Compression, where workers captured a share of the economy s growth. Nowadays, there seems to be a lot of divergence about what really happened. In hopes of simply going back to where we once were, I feel that people are not embracing the future, but running away to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Schor describes what she calls competitive consumption and that the real reason for this economic crisis is due to the desire for things we do not need. When it comes to the topic of financial crisis in an American household, most of us will readily agree that national debt has affected millions of people. Where this agreement usually ends, however, is on the question of where the money was spent that cause this economic difficulty. I find Schor s belief of heavily indebted consumers to splurge on luxury items inaccurate. On the other hand, Warren s theory of cost living in different time periods is extremely useful because it sheds insight on the problems we are facing today, and the financial stability for numerous middle class Americans is all too fragile. Schor, a professor at Boston College, argues that we are living in the cycle of work and spent which motivates the people to spend longer hours of work in order to buy materialistic items based on their appearance to the world. She states the competitive consumption has shifted out to the vast majority of the population and the media has a very pronounced bias towards showing upscaled or affluent consumption (Schor). Schor highlights the kinds of socially visible items become increasingly important as a part of a competitive consumer system. And because of that, the growth of the aspiration gap has led American ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This investigation stated that the primary categories of maltreatment includes physical abuse, sexual abuse, neglect, emotional maltreatment, and exposure to intimate partner violence (Public Health Agency of Canada, 2010). However, sexual maltreatment of children wasn t truly defined until 1974 when Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act provided us with a legal definition of sexual abuse (Feerick et al., 2006): The employment, use, persuasion, inducement, enticement, or coercion of any child to engage in, or assist any other person to engage in, any sexually explicit conduct or simulation of such conduct for the purpose of producing ... In Florida many different forms are included beginning with penetration, whether it be full or slight, either done vaginally or anal, and there may or may not be emission of semen. Next, Intrusion into genitals or anal opening by any object that isn t the perpetrator s genitals or intimate parts is also included as well as the intentional masturbating of the perpetrator. Finally, the intentional exposure of the perpetrator s genitals and sexual exploitation of the child are included in the statute (McCoy and Keen, 2014). President Trump and the United States appeared to back Saudi Arabia, while Iran and Turkey, two regional powers, backed Qatar. The blockade of Qatar is throwing the long held status quo of the region into disarray. All of the Arab Gulf states are allies of the United States and currently Saudi Arabia, UAE, and Bahrain are imposing the blockade on Qatar, with Kuwait staying neutral. The involvement of the United States, Turkey and Iran seems to indicate that this conflict was more than just a petty dispute between the gulf states. Past Perfect: E....R....S I had been in California when I saw her. Future Perfect: S....E....R I will have been to California when is see you next. It can be seen from these classifications of tenses above that the relative tenses and the reference time are split apart(this is what the use of the periods are for to demonstrate the time splits). Another thing to analyze is that only in the future perfect tense does speech time occurs first in the sentence. In addressing the past perfect tense, the lecture states that the role of the past perfect is backshifting in the sequence of tense which is why I represented the time split from event time, reference time and speech time apart us such. Other examples offered: He said that he preferred the darker cigars. (past tense=present tense) He said that he had selected the darker cigar. ( past perfect= present tense) These examples display the ideal of backshifting. Both instances of these sentences are in the past in time, however they can be interpreted as an event currently happening now. • 32. American Revolution Social Changes The American Revolution was the point of change in the world. It was the first time that a democratic government was developed and tested in a time where monarchies ruled Europe and it was the time when the world saw that the concept of democracy could lead to the fundamental change in society, specifically politically, socially, and economically. However, even though it was the point in change for the world, to what extent did it change American society politically, socially, and economically in the period between 1775 1800? The answer is that political, social, and economic effects of the American Revolution impacted society to different extents and established ideas that would later influence future movements and changes in America. First, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Primarily, the Declaration was the main source of inspiration for social change towards women. The very structure of the Declaration and the very language of it saying that all men are created equal led to future movements for women s rights. For example, although 50 years out of the given time period, the Seneca Falls Convention was the first major event in US history where women s rights were presented and stood up for by using the Declaration for a basis of argument (those at the convention rewrote the Declaration but wherever the word men was they replaced it with men and women ). Arguments for the basis of women s rights also came from within the given time period as shown by the drawing of a Patriot Woman holding a musket standing outside of a fort that has the English flag waving on it signifying the belief that women can fight for their country just as well as men can [Doc. A]. In addition, women of the time period expressed their displeasure at their lack of rights as Molly Wallace says what then must my situation be, when my sex, my youth and inexperience all conspire to make tremble at the task at which I have undertaken? in reference to women s inability to gain an education. Anne and Lindbergh were living in their recently built mansion in a remote area of Sourland Hills near Hopewell, New Jersey when Bruno Hauptmann s, on the night of March 1, 1932, kidnapped and murdered Charles Lindbergh s son. In the controversial court case of the Lindbergh Kidnapping, the guilty verdict correctly prosecuted Hauptmann with key evidence: the ladder, ransom notes, and ransom money. They have been able to remain competitive by upgrading their product throughout the years. Tic Tac s brand recognition began in 1969 and The Ferrero Group started to introduce new flavors in the 1970s. In the 1980s, to keep up with the health craze, they marketed Tic Tac as The 1 1/2 Calorie Breath Mint . They would also introduce many other flavors over the next 20 years to further diversify flavor options. In my opinion, the most innovative idea was the flip top packaging in a clear container. This packaging design distinguished Tic Tac from other breath mints. However, Tic Tac could not remain at the top forever. Other mints, such as the Altoids, began to enter the market and threaten Tic Tac s competitive edge. The Ferrero Group saw this as another opportunity for change. In 2008, they introduced the Tic Tac Chill. The Chill mints were expected to cater for the sugar free and strong flavoring product segments, two of the fastest growing segments in the United States. The Ferrero Group found profound interest from their target market of consumers in the 25 to 45 age group. They also introduced this new mint with a new packaging. The new packaging continued to maintain the essence of the classic packaging. It still featured a transparent design and the flip top. However, the Chill mints package was dual use. In particular, Catullus s poem 51 is a direct adaptation of Sappho s 31. This symmetricality of the two poems allows for perfect comparison to highlight the ways in which the styles of the poets differ or resemble the other. While both Sappho and Catullus write of love, uncontrollable desire, and the overwhelming affect it has on them, Catullus brings a certain ego and self centeredness to his poem, in turn changing the entire mood of the poem. In both 31 and 51, the poets describe the overwhelming sensation of love and lust for a lover. Both Sappho and Catullus manage to capture their affection and desire for their love, as well as the toll that this lust takes on their psyche but in doing so shed very different light on the process. Sappho s poem s depth and faith in love create a positive tone to the poem, while Catullus s ego and fear tinge his poem with sadness and negativity. Sappho is able to portray this overpowering response as something thrilling and exciting. She takes the nervous energy associated with attraction and with the love of another, and shows that it is worthwhile. The positivity that she is able to weave through her poem while at the same time portraying the nervousness at the beginning of attraction paints a realistic picture of love. Acid-Base Titration Lab Report Mariam Sy May 8, 2014 Acid Base Titration Lab Write up Introduction: Titration is the process of adding measured volumes of a base or acid with a known concentration to an acid or base with an unknown concentration in order to determine the unknown concentration. Volume measurements play an important role in titration. It involves measuring the exact volume of a solution with a known concentration that will react with a measured volume of a solution that has an unknown concentration. The solution that has a known concentration is called a standard solution. Acid base titration is based on neutralization that occurs in the reaction. If a base is added to an acid until the acid is neutralized, then the moles of base and the moles of acid will be equal. In other words, the moles of H+ ions must equal the number of moles of OH ions. The following equation can be used to calculate the unknown molarity of an acidic or basic solution: (Molarity of the acid) * (Volume of the acid) = (Molarity of the Base) * (Volume of the Base) or MaVa = MbVb. Equivalence point is when there is enough of the standard solution to neutralize the unknown solution. The endpoint is when the indicator changes color. The difference between the equivalence point and the endpoint is that the equivalence point is when the pH of the solution is 7 which means that it is neutral. First, one must take a close look at the leader of the Third Reich, Adolf Hitler. He became chancellor in 1933 and Fuhrer in 1934, but his anti Semitic propaganda began long before then. The Nazi campaign against the Jews started as early as 1929.
