In most events the goal is to introduce a new trait to the plant, which does not occur naturally in the
species, for examples in crops and food. Since from 1960, there are many countries developing using
genetic engineering crops. Genetic engineering crops bring a lot of benefit to society, it can fight with
hunger world, it has better quality and it is good for environment. However, there are also many
negative issue involved in genetic engineering crops such as it can harm the environment, it can be
detrimental to human health and it is not safe.
Using the information collected from different source such as interview with doctor or science teacher,
secondary sources like online article, book, looking different websites and youtube clips, idea and
evidence have been collected and analysed.

Designing A Network For Delta Insurance Company
Introduction
I will be designing a network for Delta Insurance Company with four offices each in Liverpool,
Manchester, Leeds and York. And I will be following the requirements detailed below. I will also be
talking about the screenshots of my Design in this report.
Part 1: (10 Marks)
You must design an IP version 4 addressing scheme that will accommodate the LANs and WAN links
between the offices. The LANs and WANs should use a single public class C IP address of
197.120.45.0 that has been sub netted using Variable Length Subnet Masks.
Here you can see that I have designed my own IP addressing scheme from class C 197.120.45.0 that
has been sub netted using Variable Subnet Masks, which you can see that I have created a table for
each Hosts and IP address/Subnet masks.

The Lecture On Domestic Violence Essay
The Lecture taken by Shine explored the changes and influences of the Domestic Protection Act, 1982
and the Domestic Violence Act, 1996. The presentation put emphasis on the law and systems in
dealing with domestic violence. Included also in the lecture, was the analysis of protection orders and
police interference. Protection orders are in practice for the urgent safety of the victims of domestic
violence. They are applied for through the family court with evidence of domestic violence or
potential danger (Morden, 2016). The lecture also demonstrated that the law does not tolerate even
single acts of abuse and takes procedures very seriously. The various acts are in place and are
continually improving to protect New Zealanders that may be in danger of abuse.
The first reading, Gender bias, fathers rights, domestic violence and the Family court , argues that
laws regarding domestic violence are bias towards men. This accusation is supported by the
accessibility that women have to use or misuse protection orders. The law gives women the
opportunity to give themselves immediate custody over their children and property (Davis Powell,
2004). The gender bias against men is also given credibility by the large proportion of fathers denied
access to their children at all. However, this legislation has proved to be positive as the majority of
cases prove that danger is most prominent when the partner leaves the abuser. The question of whether
the law is beneficial for the

Theme of The Jungle Essay
In the book The Jungle by Upton Sinclair; this was first published by Fine Creative Media Inc. in 1906
(edition I read was published in 2003) it discuses life as an immigrant and how immigrants foresaw
the American dream and how they tired to achieve it. There where many themes for the book. The
theme that I took was most important was that life on the other side is not always better then what one
has. This theme can be shown many different ways throughout the book. It is shown through the plot
and through many examples of event that occurred though the book. In The Jungle a young man
named Jurgis Rudkus moves to the United States landing in Chicago, with his family looking for a
better life then what they had in Lithuania. They ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As the story goes on Ona and her baby Antanas both die. Ona during child birth and Antanas will
drowned in front of the house. Jurgis will then move out of the city to the suburbs leave all of his
family behind. Later returning to Chicago and getting himself into a lot of trouble with the law. After
some time of being in and out of jail Jurgis finally gets a job working at a hotel. He will become back
in touch with his family that he left and begin to support them on what he makes by working at the
hotel. As I read the book I felt more and more sorry for Jurgis and his family. The struggles and
hardships that they went though as well as what other immigrants where going through at the time. I
feel that people during this time where treated very unfairly and when it came to the meat packing
companies I think that the cows pigs had a better life. This is because the animals where fed every day
no matter what because the people that wanted to sell them needed for them to look like that had a lot
of meat on them not just skin and bone. The pay that the people working in these plants made did not
always pay for the rent of their one rat infested room, let alone to put food on the table. Some of the
ways I feel that the workers where treated badly in this book are first when Jurgis notices the speeding

A Soldier s Life During The Early 1900s
During the early 1900s, soldiers who fought did not have any say in their actions. They were told what
to do, where to go, and who to take up arms against. These actions led to multiple complications and
controversies among different World War 1 historians. Soldiers were taught to comply with all orders
of their commander and disobeying such commands was rewarded by harsh punishments. Over time
however, the soldiers began to see the situation from a different vantage point, As a result, they began
to formulate escape plans, and they began to reject orders more frequently, and began to voice
disapproval. This behavior infuriated their commanders, so as time progressed the soldiers attitudes
changed. To say a soldier s life during World War

A Study Of Ecology And Its Effects On The Environment
Competition in ecosystems has become central to the study of ecology, and has been implicated as a
major factor behind the patterns of species abundance and distribution. Though often studied together,
abundance and distribution are two distinct designations, abundance being the density of a species in a
given area, and the spatial arrangement of that species in an area is referred to as the distribution
(Brown, 1984). In ecological terms competition refers to a fight between two organisms, of the same
species or different, for a limiting resource, leading often to an adverse effect on one or both organism
(Birch, 1957). When one of the organisms in the competition out competes the other for the desired
resource this results in a negative ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is important to emphasize that exploitation and interference competition mechanisms can be
intraspecific or interspecific, thus are classified as real competition, while apparent competition is
typically only of the interspecific type (Birch, 1957). With that said, of all forms competition,
interspecific competition, the competition between two or more species, has been studied most
intensively as cause behind patterns of distribution and abundance within populations of species.
However, there has been much disagreement regarding the prominence of interspecific competition in
natural environment, and whether it actually effects the abundance and distribution of species. In this
paper the history and application of interspecific competition, along with a common model used to
illustrate it will be evaluated, through their use in various ecological researches.
History of Interspecific Competition Though the study of ecology is a relatively new science, the
earliest records of competition in biology and in the environment can be traced back to Charles
Darwin (Park, 1954). Darwin, the father evolution, placed great emphasis on the importance of
competition, specifically interspecies competition, in the process of natural selection and species

was established by Henry Wells and William G. Fargo, who also co founded the American Express,
and several other investors in 1852. The company was to provide express banking services in
California, which caught their attention due to the economic boom of the gold rush. They offered
many diverse services and continually merged or took over existing companies to become the leader
in western transportation by the end of the 1860 s. They have continued to adapt and grow by
demonstrating innovations like establishing the transcontinental Express line during the emergence of
the railroads and identifying and branching out into other areas throughout the years.

Symptoms Of Cystic Fibrosis
Overview: Cystic Fibrosis, or CF, is a genetic disease that affects children to young adults. It occurs
when a child has two defective copies of the gene that causes cystic fibrosis, one from each parent.
The disease primarily affects the digestive system and it also affects the respiratory system, mainly the
lungs bronchi and bronchioles. Cystic fibrosis affects the cells that produce mucus and digestive
juices, as it changes the protein that regulates the movement of salt in and out of cells. Which leads to
people thick and sticky mucus and digestive juices, such as pancreatic juices. Whereas people who do
not have CF have thin and slippery mucus and digestive juices. The severity of the disease differs
from one person to the next, yet the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Symptoms of cystic fibrosis is persistent cough that are full of mucus, shortness of breath, weight loss
and infertility or decreased fertility in both men and women. Also, intestinal blockage can occur,
where a part of the intestines folds in on itself.
Two or more of the symptoms might indicate that you have cystic fibrosis and a doctor might conduct
a sweat test, which tests for how much salt is in your sweat. If the salt levels are high enough, it might
indicate cystic fibrosis. Other tests that can determine if you have cystic fibrosis is genetic testing and
newborn screening.
There is no cure for cystic fibrosis, but medication can be provided to help ease the symptoms that
accompany the disease. Things like antibiotics can treat and prevent lung infections. A person can also
take mucus thinning drugs that help to improve lung functions, by helping you cough out the mucus.
Furthermore, a person can also take in pancreatic enzymes that help to digest food in the small
intestines and stomach. If a person s intestine folds in on itself, then the person would have to have
surgery that removes the part of the intestine. If the blockages in the ducts in the lungs become
resistant to medication, or antibiotics, then the person might need to have a lung transplant. Cystic
fibrosis does not occur in the set of lungs that have been transplanted into

The Impact Of Marketing On Consumer s Choice And Behavior...
Methodology Literature Review
Abdullah Almarzuqi
Central Michigan University
Introduction Consumer s decisions are mainly influenced by how well they know the product. The
appearance of the product too influences the consumer s choice and behavior. This makes the firms to
use branding as a way to increase customer s awareness on their products. Branding is tending to be
inevitable for the firms these days. Branding has a great influence on consumer s decisions. Firms are
getting a greater challenge to ensure that they continuously remain up to date when it comes to
different forms of advertisement and marketing strategies. This ensures that they acquire consumer s
loyalty, increase the market share of their brands and increase the volume of their brands they sell. In
my research, I will use interview as a methodology that I can use to get more information from the
consumers. I will use interviews to conduct research to come up with a summary of how well
branding impacts the decisions of a consumer. Branding can be defined as packaging of a product in
different ways so as attract more consumers by making it look more appealing. It helps create a name,
symbol or design of a product that differentiates it from the others. The consumers can identify a
product by its branding features. Interview is research methodology that is used to acquire information
from the respondents. It involves asking the consumers questions directly and giving them a chance to

MOM Up Review
MOM UP is a delightful broad comedy. The concept for MOM UP is a lot of fun and delivers a strong,
eccentric, and very colorful protagonist in Roxy Holliday. Even her name is fun.
The goal is clear and the stakes are personal. The script is driven by themes about growing up,
learning to move forward, and appreciating who you are.
There s no doubt that the highlight of this script is Roxy. She s amusing to watch. She s clearly flawed,
controlling and reckless, but there s something very charming about her. She really has a good heart,
but she makes the wrong decisions for the right reasons.
As much as one really adores Roxy, the script would benefit from more development. It s the structure
and pace that are worthy of discussion.
Basically, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One has to understand a bit better what her life was like growing up with Roxy. She needs to learn to
appreciate Roxy s eccentric, free spirit behavior. Amanda works well as the uptight woman and at the
end make sure she learns to be a bit more reckless, as Roxy becomes more mature. As mentioned,
however, the relationship between her and Bo isn t well understood.
Right now, none of the supporting characters standout, with the exception of Kiley. She s likable and
she has the opportunity to even verbalize some wisdom to Roxy. However, there s really no need for
both Kiley and Alex. They have similar type roles, so consider combining.
Richard doesn t feel essential or understood. Ernesto never really engages. Rusty has strong potential,
but feels underused.
The dialogue is sharp and reveals information about the characters. Roxy s voice is very consistent
with her personality. Amanda s voice sounds uptight, which is also congruent with her personality.
There s nice subtext we all eventually become our mother. Make sure to pay this off.
The script is professionally presented. However, be careful in the narrative of asking too many
questions, as this can be distracting and the audience can t see these questions or comments. There s
no need to repeat BFF. On page 33 there s a small typo Oxy vs. Roxy and on page 45 about getting the
man a suit: How about we can get

Stand And Deliver Themes
Stand and Deliver Relevancy Today The film Stand and Deliver follows math teacher Jaime Escalante
s determination to motivate underprivileged students and help them reach academic excellence. At the
end of this whole journey, the students are able to realize their full potential and grow from the
experience. There are several universal themes that the filmmaker is able to express through the use of
various impactful filmmaking techniques. I believe that the film s passion is still relevant today, as the
themes showcased throughout the film can very much be understood and empathized with by a diverse
range of students in modern times. One of the themes that stand out the most in the film is the struggle
to overcome adversity and push through problems in one s life that could otherwise get in the way
from achieving goals. In the film, many ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the film, various students are shown to be quite vocal about what they believe they cannot
accomplish, and this mainly revolves around Jaime Escalante s math class. Many students claim that
math is just not for them, that they do not understand it and are better off without it. The filmmaker
specifically shows this through a scene in the beginning of the film when Escalante asks different
students a simple question on a basic concept in math and given in return unsure answers. The
filmmaker gives close up shots of the students looking down at their desks, seemingly unconfident in
their own understanding of basic math. The students at first resist trying to take math seriously, but
with time Escalante eventually succeeds at sparking their interest and showing them that they are
capable of a lot more than they believe to be possible. Plenty of students today deal with low self

The Scandal Of The Enron Scandal
Accounting is a necessary and vital part of maintaining any business, it is needed to file taxes, know
how much one has in assets and liabilities, and indicate to investors whether the company would be a
profitable undertaking. However, sometimes the accounting goes horribly wrong when people, even
those who seem to be moral and uncorrubtable, fudge the numbers. By inflating books, they can get
away with billions of dollars in fraud and make nice bonuses for themselves. However, these acts of
greed affect not only the fraudulent person, but their families, coworkers, and other businesses. There
are several ways massive accounting fraud has taken place in companies, from increasing
depreciation, to not reporting debt, to right out making up numbers to report. These frauds have been
detected in multiple ways as well whistleblowers, internal audits, and even the fraudulent people
themselves. The effect of these scandals have taken a heavy toll on businesses financially and on
people involved emotionally. One scandal that had a lot of family involvement and heartache was the
Bernie Madoff scandal in 2008. Bernie Madoff, along with his accountant David Friehling and Frank
DiPascalli orchestrated the largest Ponzi scheme ever with his investment securities business. Madoff

Perseverance In Odyssey
Through Homer s Iliad, it is revealed that Greeks thought fighting in battle and victory constituted a
good life. To them, the definition of a hero seems to be someone who can battle and be victorious in
war, no matter what the cost. Heroes believe that risking their own lives as well as the lives of those
surrounding them. In a way this is what they viewed as honorable for any Grecian warrior: one who
would lay down their life for the battle. In this story, I admire Nestor for his wisdom and perseverance.
Although old and frail, Nestor could always be found at the front of each battle. As I was reading, I
pictured Nestor as the Dumbledore of this story as he seemed to act with wisdom and was
knowledgeable on how to be victorious in battle.

Labour Force In Canada
The term labour force consists of persons who contribute or are available to contribute to the
production of goods and services falling within the System of National Accounts production boundary
(Statistics Canada, 2017). According to Canada s first decennial census, the work force was meant to
include anyone stating an occupation. However, with increasing industrialization and urbanization,
census officials soon accepted the growing myth of one dimensional, cash based economy by further
defining occupation as the position in which the enumerated was gainfully employed, which the 1901
census identified as those paid salary or wages or other money allowances (MacDonald, 2010, p. 390).
This paper will explore the concept of labour data ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Approaching this data otherwise leaves us with the impression that both women and Black workers
did not, and do not, contribute to the Canadian workforce in a meaningful way. In both cases, the
numbers depict that white men hold the majority of jobs in which they are the highest salary earners
(Fearon Wald 2011, p. 330; MacDonald, 2010, p. 390). Thus, reading these statistics without being
critical of the structures they stand upon only proves that white men have made greater contributions
to the Canadian labour market, and thus perpetuating the power of data. Therefore, based on the
authors findings, it must be concluded that much like the power of data, statistical manipulation
essentially distorts the truth and exaggerates statistics way out of proportion to suit a certain agenda.
For instance, the way that the wage gap has been similarly evaluated upholds the conviction that
women and Black workers do not work as hard as white men do or are unproductive, and therefore
they are assumed to be either lazy or incompetent. For example, the total number of women religious
in Canada seems grossly under reported in every census year, and yet it is carried into published
research, thus skewing data, which results in a significant portion of women religious assumed to have

Erikson, Babies, By Erik Erikson And Freud s Stages
At the age of barely being a full one year old, a lot of transitions take place when being able to
observe a baby in its environment. After watching Alana, a nine month old little girl, I was able to see
both Erikson and Freud s stages come into play. While being in her home for a week, I was able to see
and interact with her during different times of the day each on different days, which helped to truly see
and observe her actions depending on what current mood she was in the for the day. For theorist Erik
Erikson, babies are in the trust vs. mistrust stage up until the age of one. During this stage, attachment
is a factor that begins, and when they are around strangers or anyone outside of their immediate family
that they are constantly around, the true test comes into play. Their trust is based through bonding and
a connection, and if their basic needs of nourishment, physical contact, and cleanliness are taken care
of, then they put their trust in those people and generally happy. As for the opposing side, babies can
also have trust issues and be very skeptical around people and cry/have fear when those basic needs
are not met. While observing Alana, she is in a home with two older sisters, and two loving parents,
which is one thing that I saw to be a blessing because she always had someone to play with her, tend
to her needs, and just simply love her. I believe that because of this home environment that she lives
in, this makes her mistrust for strangers, such as

question above, approximately what proportion of the population would be expected to be carriers of
the PKU allele?
Summary Question:
Restate each of the Hardy Weinberg conditions. Under each, elaborate by explaining each in greater
detail. Define the term and explain what each is and how it is important. Also explain how each may
be violated in nature and how often you think that the condition may be violated. An example for the
first condition is given below.
1. No Mutations: Mutations refer to a changes in the DNA code. Mutations occur regularly, are the
source of variation of traits in a species, and are called the raw material upon which natural selection
acts and can lead to evolutionary change in phenotype. Mutations of the DNA mean that the Adenine,
Thymine, Guanine and/or Cytosine changes. Changes can be deletions, substitutions, or inversions.
Most mutations would be disadvantageous, but can also be advantageous. Variation of phenotype in a
population allows a species to survive in a changing environment.

The Time Of A Traditional Family
Entering the home of a traditional family, the youngest children are in the living room watching
television, arguing over the channel, as the oldest sibling is their room because they recently got
suspended from school, and the dog is drinking out of the toilet bowl. In the meantime, the mother is
the kitchen preparing dinner and setting up the dinner table. As she listens to the children arguing, the
laundry timer goes off, and then her husband walks in from work. Now, not every home is as chaotic
as this one, but even so, the woman was expected to handle each of these situations within the home
and have everything prepared for her husband. Motherhood and housework were the most significant
roles and positions of women in society. Rarely, would women have any type of education compared
to the men. Overtime, women have conquered much of the challenges faced by the oppression in
society, but not all. Gaining the rights to vote, receiving an education, working under for any
occupation they chose to, etc. Although, there is still some sort of dominance and power that men have
over women within every aspect of society; issues like gender and wage gap, gendered division of
labor, second shift, glass ceiling, and many more are still prominent in society. Sheryl Sandberg, in her
book, Lean In: Women, Work, and the Will to Lead, and in a Ted talk argues about all the issues
women face and how women do not insist on their fair share in the home or working community.

Moana Film Analysis
There are some concepts that I want to explain that were in the movie. First is how the Social Class
works for the Polynesian people. Moana is the direct bloodline of the chief for her tribe. She is next in
line to rule after her dad passes it on to her. The Social class for her people is the Gods, Tribal Chief,
Princess, and the people. Their people are very humbled and honored to have a great tradition of
chiefs and history throughout time, and Moana is next in line. Her father tries to lead by example and
guides her through the process. But Moana wants to travel the seas and become a way finder. Like in
most Polynesian culture, traveling the seas was exploring other far away islands near their islands. In
the Pacific Ocean there are over ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
My second concept is Power and the direct connection it has with the ancestors of Moana s people.
For generations her family has had the power to control what goes on in the reef. Thousands of years
ago, Polynesian people were architects at traveling the seas. Finding new land and providing new
voyages for their people. Over time they found New Zealand, Tonga, Samoa, and many other small
islands. In Moana she is the direct bloodline and a leader of her people, so voyaging is part of their
culture. But her father oppressed her not to travel the seas, and never leave the reef. No one went past
the barrier reef, not even the chief himself. In Polynesian culture they travel by boat. Over time many
Polynesians were scattered throughout the Pacific Ocean. In Polynesian culture they take pride in
traveling the seas and following their ancestors footsteps. Because of an unfortunate event that
happened to the chief he uses his power to oppress his daughter from leaving. Or at least he tried.
Another character that uses his power and is the direct cause for the islands to die is Maui. Who is a
demi god blessed by the Sea Gods to bring happiness to the world? Since he is Immortal and can t die,
Maui has the power to fix anything. But he does something daring which caused Te fiti the God of
Creation to be angry and destroys beautiful islands like Moana s. Teka the Lava god which is Te fiti s
alternate personality uses her power to vanquish anything in her path. She is mostly upset at Maui for
using his powers and being selfish. He loses his magic staff and become useless. As the story moves
on, Moana was chosen by the sea gods as a little girl to save her home and land. Even though she
needed every bit of help from Maui and others, but she accomplished them with little to no power at
all. She did trust her instincts and believing in herself even when things weren t going right. The gods
are shown in the

The Castle Of Otranto And Romance Of The Forest Analysis
Romantic literature is very well known for its extensive use of imagery to express different themes
within a story. The Castle of Otranto is a Romantic Era story, by Horace Walpole, which expressed the
expectations thrust upon women in the 1700 s in a different and rather terrifying light than was seen at
that time. Romance of the Forest is also a Romantic Era story, created by Ann Radcliffe, which tells
the story of a woman who discovers a terrifying secret that exists just on the other side of her bedroom
walls. In both The Castle of Otranto and Romance of the Forest, the imagery used to describe the
gothic environments of each story further adds haunted and scary feelings to the stories. In The Castle

At one point in the story, the odd architecture of the hidden rooms causes Adeline to be thrust into
complete darkness, which makes for a rather suspenseful point in the story. The obscurity of the place
prevented her discovering what it was that had impeded her steps, but having brought the light
forward, she perceived on the floor an old dagger; with a trembling hand she took it up, and upon a
closer view perceived that it was spotted and stained with rust. (Radcliffe, ) In this story, as Adeline
stumbles through each room, she observes the architecture and the layout, which causes a sense of fear
and dread to grow within her. Towards the end of the story, Adeline finds herself in a room that differs
slightly from the rest, which she is barely able to discern due to the fact that the lighting is not too
helpful. In this final room, Adeline discovers a roll of paper that holds a secret which terrifies her. She
attempted to read it, but the part of the manuscript she looked at was so much obliterated that she
found this difficult, though what few words were legible impressed her with curiosity and terror, and
induced her to return immediately to her chamber. (Radcliffe, ) When Adeline discovers the room with
the dagger and then the roll of paper within the room, she realizes a secret about the room that terrifies
her, thus causing her to flee back to

hopeless, with no sign of relief. Picture two sheep at the bottom of a ravine, on their backs like turtles
struggling to get up, bleating, Baaaaaa! The Shepherd should have said, serves you right or at least
jabbed us with an I told you so. Instead, He kept at us, gently coaxing for us to stand up, climb back
up the cliff, and follow the directions on the map.
You can laugh, I have. Still, I m honored to be that vagabond sheep. Grateful beyond explanation. I
turned my tail to the other 99 sheep, booing their blatherings. Worse, I felt no need of a Shepherd. I

Driving Under Influences Laws
tougher because the rules are not enforced enough and are not doing their job. These people have
gotten their licenses taken away and do not even follow the rules afterwards. This piece of information
does not tell how many people are caught without their licenses but it is most likely true that there are
many drivers who get away freely from any cops knowing they are driving without a license. The next
point has to do with the leniency of the state s Driving Under Influences laws. More specifically,
South Dakota s laws. South Dakota s DUI penalties include no minimum jail time or fine for a first or
second offense, no administrative license suspension, and no ignition interlock requirement. It had the
number one fatality rate for 1995 to 2013, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first point in of topic is the issues with repeat offenders. Repeat offenders are an issue because in
the past, repeat DUI offenders might have been given minimal jail time or prohibition, along with
their driver s license being suspended. Sometimes, the punishment could include a certain amount of
community service. The NTSB, National Transportation Safety Board, has called for states to
eliminate community service as a punishment, in part because it keeps prosecutions of offenders
records and makes repeat offenses more likely. Treatment for alcohol abuse works in some but not all
cases. It is certainly worth trying, but in many cases repeat offenders are not interested in being
helped. They will go through a treatment program if it is required by law, but positive effects may be
short lived. These facts about the repeat offenders not wanting to go through treatment programs and
not being interested in being helped at all are a major key aspect of why we should have DUI laws that
are more strict than they are today because if they do not want any help like treatment for alcohol
abuse or go through a treatment program because then they are more likely to not help the community
around them in any way. If they were interested in getting helped, there may be a lower risk of car
crashes in that area. In the DUI laws were tougher there, they would probably not want to get in any
more car crashes because if they did, they would have to pay a higher fee and even do more
community work if those laws were implemented. If someone were to be caught driving under an
influence, your license could be banned like mentioned before and also could have your car taken
away temporarily. These things should teach a person a couple of lessons but if caught again, there
could be more of a punishment than before. If someone were to receive a second DUI offense in ten
years,

Opera Informative Speech
The name, opera, comes from the Italian language meaning work. The opera is music and drama.
Opera is something that many generations listen too because it is a little over 400 years old. Opera is a
visible as well as an audible art. Throughout history, opera has reflected trends during the current time
period when it is composed. A feature that is unique in opera isn t the drama though, it s the music. It
is written for several levels of the human voice. This helps express emotions. Today I am going to tell
you what opera is, the history of opera, and the different types of opera. What is opera? Opera is a
form of art, which joins singing, music, drama, signing, poetry, and sometimes dance. In each work,

They celebrated marriages and political visits. These entertainments mixed music and dance with
effects and extravagant costumes. The stories or themes were taken from classical mythology, drawing
parallels between the ruler and the mythological gods or heroes.
Unlike other musical forms it did not evolve in relation to other music developments. The Renaissance
fascination with the ancient world of the Greeks and the Romans created opera.
Later on in the years, people tried to introduce opera into England from France and Italy. This wasn t
very successful. Henry Purcell planned a semi opera. This was an English form which combined
singing and spoken dialogue. The English form of opera contained elaborate costumes, effects, and
dancing and music. This horrified the French. They believed opera was supposed to be formal. One
French traveller described it as a Hotch Potch . English did not have all sung opera for 200 years after.
Drama became more popular and important.
What are the different types of opera? It takes a lot of time, people, and effort before an opera can
finally make its premiere. It may also take a lot of time trying to find what opera you want to perform.
There are six different types of operas; comic, serious, semiseria, grand, and

Eternal Punishment vs. Universalism and Annihilationism
Christians throughout the world profess to serve a merciful and loving God. And indeed, many
Christians have experience this love and mercy first hand throughout their lives. Those outside the
religion, however, have leveled several criticisms against it, one of which is the idea of eternal
punishment and how Christians could possibly promote the idea of a loving God on the same level as
a deity who would eternally and painfully punish those who committed a crime no greater than not
believing in him in a very specific way. My personal view is, however, of a God who is indeed
merciful and just. Those who would see souls cast into eternal punishment, in my experience, have all
been human who claimed to understand the mind of God. On the other hand, critics who would
criticize God for such a harsh punishment are equally in ignorance of a mind of the divine. Eternal
punishment is the most traditional view held by most Christians. It dictates that all who die not
believing in God (or Christ as Savior) will be cast, with the Antichrist, into an eternal lake of fire. This
is the main point of contention usually raised by non Christians such as Pinnock against the religion.
The Universalist view is, however, is that all people who died, even those who died not believing, will
ultimately be brought back to eternal life. A third group are the an nihilists, who believe that those
who die without Christ will be completely annihilated in soul and body, which refers to the eternal

Podiatrist Personal Statement
I was just two weeks into my internal medicine rotation at Suez Canal University in Egypt, when I
encountered a case that I still remember to this day. Ms. Rafat was an elderly diabetic patient that
came into our clinic complaining of a persistent wound on the sole of her foot. Upon removing her
boots, her complaint turned out to be a foot ulcer with an infection extending to the first and second
metatarsal bones .Unfortunately for her, we had to break the news to her and her family that her foot
would need amputation. Ms. Rafat was understandably upset but took the news in stride. Following up
on her case, I learned that after the surgery, the blood flow to her leg became increasingly poor and
she had to return to have a below the knee amputation. Ms. Rafat ended up dying of pulmonary
embolism as a complication of her second surgery. This case stayed with me not only because it ...

Oppression Against Jews And Anti-Semitism
Throughout our history, public issues have always been around and discussed. There have been issues
in society which still to this day are ongoing, and others which come and go depending on the time,
environment and audience. Some public issues can be seen as positive, whereas others have negative
connotations attached, and can affect society. Anti Semitism relates to a hostility against Jews. This
can be seen through the history of the Jewish people, and the many persecutions, trauma and racism
they have fought over thousands of years. Some has been documented, and others passed down from
generation to generation. This has a damaging effect on the Jewish people as individuals, and others in
the community who are affected by this on going exploitation. A current and recent issue was the
Charlottesville riots in America, where a group of white supremacists went after the Jews. They
chanted through a university in Virginia, Jews will not replace us , because they are scared that the
Jewish people are going to take over the media, jobs, education and manipulate the minds of everyone
throughout the society, that is why they are the only white people that are constantly targeted by the
white supremacists.
This specific public issue contributes to oppression at all three levels, which includes the personal,
cultural and political dimensions. Oppression, which is a control of inferior groups within society by
an influential group (Mullaly 2010), can occur on many different

We walked down the steps of the small side porch, crossed between her work shed and the corner of

Behind the pen, at the end of her back yard, we walked past her rambling, smooth skinned Crepe

  • 3. Designing A Network For Delta Insurance Company Introduction I will be designing a network for Delta Insurance Company with four offices each in Liverpool, Manchester, Leeds and York. And I will be following the requirements detailed below. I will also be talking about the screenshots of my Design in this report. Part 1: (10 Marks) You must design an IP version 4 addressing scheme that will accommodate the LANs and WAN links between the offices. The LANs and WANs should use a single public class C IP address of 197.120.45.0 that has been sub netted using Variable Length Subnet Masks. Here you can see that I have designed my own IP addressing scheme from class C 197.120.45.0 that has been sub netted using Variable Subnet Masks, which you can see that I have created a table for each Hosts and IP address/Subnet masks. • 5. The Lecture On Domestic Violence Essay The Lecture taken by Shine explored the changes and influences of the Domestic Protection Act, 1982 and the Domestic Violence Act, 1996. The presentation put emphasis on the law and systems in dealing with domestic violence. Included also in the lecture, was the analysis of protection orders and police interference. Protection orders are in practice for the urgent safety of the victims of domestic violence. They are applied for through the family court with evidence of domestic violence or potential danger (Morden, 2016). The lecture also demonstrated that the law does not tolerate even single acts of abuse and takes procedures very seriously. The various acts are in place and are continually improving to protect New Zealanders that may be in danger of abuse. The first reading, Gender bias, fathers rights, domestic violence and the Family court , argues that laws regarding domestic violence are bias towards men. This accusation is supported by the accessibility that women have to use or misuse protection orders. The law gives women the opportunity to give themselves immediate custody over their children and property (Davis Powell, 2004). The gender bias against men is also given credibility by the large proportion of fathers denied access to their children at all. However, this legislation has proved to be positive as the majority of cases prove that danger is most prominent when the partner leaves the abuser. The question of whether the law is beneficial for the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Theme of The Jungle Essay In the book The Jungle by Upton Sinclair; this was first published by Fine Creative Media Inc. in 1906 (edition I read was published in 2003) it discuses life as an immigrant and how immigrants foresaw the American dream and how they tired to achieve it. There where many themes for the book. The theme that I took was most important was that life on the other side is not always better then what one has. This theme can be shown many different ways throughout the book. It is shown through the plot and through many examples of event that occurred though the book. In The Jungle a young man named Jurgis Rudkus moves to the United States landing in Chicago, with his family looking for a better life then what they had in Lithuania. They ... Jurgis will then move out of the city to the suburbs leave all of his family behind. Later returning to Chicago and getting himself into a lot of trouble with the law. After some time of being in and out of jail Jurgis finally gets a job working at a hotel. He will become back in touch with his family that he left and begin to support them on what he makes by working at the hotel. As I read the book I felt more and more sorry for Jurgis and his family. The struggles and hardships that they went though as well as what other immigrants where going through at the time. I feel that people during this time where treated very unfairly and when it came to the meat packing companies I think that the cows pigs had a better life. This is because the animals where fed every day no matter what because the people that wanted to sell them needed for them to look like that had a lot of meat on them not just skin and bone. The pay that the people working in these plants made did not always pay for the rent of their one rat infested room, let alone to put food on the table. Some of the ways I feel that the workers where treated badly in this book are first when Jurgis notices the speeding up ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. A Soldier s Life During The Early 1900s During the early 1900s, soldiers who fought did not have any say in their actions. They were told what to do, where to go, and who to take up arms against. These actions led to multiple complications and controversies among different World War 1 historians. Soldiers were taught to comply with all orders of their commander and disobeying such commands was rewarded by harsh punishments. Over time however, the soldiers began to see the situation from a different vantage point, As a result, they began to formulate escape plans, and they began to reject orders more frequently, and began to voice disapproval. This behavior infuriated their commanders, so as time progressed the soldiers attitudes changed. To say a soldier s life during World War ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. A Study Of Ecology And Its Effects On The Environment Competition in ecosystems has become central to the study of ecology, and has been implicated as a major factor behind the patterns of species abundance and distribution. Though often studied together, abundance and distribution are two distinct designations, abundance being the density of a species in a given area, and the spatial arrangement of that species in an area is referred to as the distribution (Brown, 1984). In ecological terms competition refers to a fight between two organisms, of the same species or different, for a limiting resource, leading often to an adverse effect on one or both organism (Birch, 1957). When one of the organisms in the competition out competes the other for the desired resource this results in a negative ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is important to emphasize that exploitation and interference competition mechanisms can be intraspecific or interspecific, thus are classified as real competition, while apparent competition is typically only of the interspecific type (Birch, 1957). With that said, of all forms competition, interspecific competition, the competition between two or more species, has been studied most intensively as cause behind patterns of distribution and abundance within populations of species. However, there has been much disagreement regarding the prominence of interspecific competition in natural environment, and whether it actually effects the abundance and distribution of species. In this paper the history and application of interspecific competition, along with a common model used to illustrate it will be evaluated, through their use in various ecological researches. History of Interspecific Competition Though the study of ecology is a relatively new science, the earliest records of competition in biology and in the environment can be traced back to Charles Darwin (Park, 1954). Darwin, the father evolution, placed great emphasis on the importance of competition, specifically interspecies competition, in the process of natural selection and species ... • 10. Symptoms Of Cystic Fibrosis Overview: Cystic Fibrosis, or CF, is a genetic disease that affects children to young adults. It occurs when a child has two defective copies of the gene that causes cystic fibrosis, one from each parent. The disease primarily affects the digestive system and it also affects the respiratory system, mainly the lungs bronchi and bronchioles. • 12. MOM Up Review MOM UP is a delightful broad comedy. The concept for MOM UP is a lot of fun and delivers a strong, eccentric, and very colorful protagonist in Roxy Holliday. Even her name is fun. The goal is clear and the stakes are personal. The script is driven by themes about growing up, learning to move forward, and appreciating who you are. There s no doubt that the highlight of this script is Roxy. She s amusing to watch. She s clearly flawed, controlling and reckless, but there s something very charming about her. She really has a good heart, but she makes the wrong decisions for the right reasons. As much as one really adores Roxy, the script would benefit from more development. The filmmaker gives close up shots of the students looking down at their desks, seemingly unconfident in their own understanding of basic math. The students at first resist trying to take math seriously, but with time Escalante eventually succeeds at sparking their interest and showing them that they are capable of a lot more than they believe to be possible. However, sometimes the accounting goes horribly wrong when people, even those who seem to be moral and uncorrubtable, fudge the numbers. By inflating books, they can get away with billions of dollars in fraud and make nice bonuses for themselves. However, these acts of greed affect not only the fraudulent person, but their families, coworkers, and other businesses. Labour Force In Canada The term labour force consists of persons who contribute or are available to contribute to the production of goods and services falling within the System of National Accounts production boundary (Statistics Canada, 2017). According to Canada s first decennial census, the work force was meant to include anyone stating an occupation. However, with increasing industrialization and urbanization, census officials soon accepted the growing myth of one dimensional, cash based economy by further defining occupation as the position in which the enumerated was gainfully employed, which the 1901 census identified as those paid salary or wages or other money allowances (MacDonald, 2010, p. 390). This paper will explore the concept of labour data ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Approaching this data otherwise leaves us with the impression that both women and Black workers did not, and do not, contribute to the Canadian workforce in a meaningful way. In both cases, the numbers depict that white men hold the majority of jobs in which they are the highest salary earners (Fearon Wald 2011, p. 330; MacDonald, 2010, p. 390). Thus, reading these statistics without being critical of the structures they stand upon only proves that white men have made greater contributions to the Canadian labour market, and thus perpetuating the power of data. Therefore, based on the authors findings, it must be concluded that much like the power of data, statistical manipulation essentially distorts the truth and exaggerates statistics way out of proportion to suit a certain agenda. For instance, the way that the wage gap has been similarly evaluated upholds the conviction that women and Black workers do not work as hard as white men do or are unproductive, and therefore they are assumed to be either lazy or incompetent. For example, the total number of women religious in Canada seems grossly under reported in every census year, and yet it is carried into published research, thus skewing data, which results in a significant portion of women religious assumed to have been unproductive ... While being in her home for a week, I was able to see and interact with her during different times of the day each on different days, which helped to truly see and observe her actions depending on what current mood she was in the for the day. For theorist Erik Erikson, babies are in the trust vs. mistrust stage up until the age of one. During this stage, attachment is a factor that begins, and when they are around strangers or anyone outside of their immediate family that they are constantly around, the true test comes into play. Their trust is based through bonding and a connection, and if their basic needs of nourishment, physical contact, and cleanliness are taken care of, then they put their trust in those people and generally happy. As for the opposing side, babies can also have trust issues and be very skeptical around people and cry/have fear when those basic needs are not met. While observing Alana, she is in a home with two older sisters, and two loving parents, which is one thing that I saw to be a blessing because she always had someone to play with her, tend to her needs, and just simply love her. Repeat offenders are an issue because in the past, repeat DUI offenders might have been given minimal jail time or prohibition, along with their driver s license being suspended. Sometimes, the punishment could include a certain amount of community service. The NTSB, National Transportation Safety Board, has called for states to eliminate community service as a punishment, in part because it keeps prosecutions of offenders records and makes repeat offenses more likely. Treatment for alcohol abuse works in some but not all cases. It is certainly worth trying, but in many cases repeat offenders are not interested in being helped. They will go through a treatment program if it is required by law, but positive effects may be short lived. These facts about the repeat offenders not wanting to go through treatment programs and not being interested in being helped at all are a major key aspect of why we should have DUI laws that are more strict than they are today because if they do not want any help like treatment for alcohol abuse or go through a treatment program because then they are more likely to not help the community around them in any way. If they were interested in getting helped, there may be a lower risk of car crashes in that area. In the DUI laws were tougher there, they would probably not want to get in any more car crashes because if they did, they would have to pay a higher fee and even do more community work if those laws were implemented. If someone were to be caught driving under an influence, your license could be banned like mentioned before and also could have your car taken away temporarily. These things should teach a person a couple of lessons but if caught again, there could be more of a punishment than before. If someone were to receive a second DUI offense in ten years, ... • 33. Eternal Punishment vs. Universalism and Annihilationism Christians throughout the world profess to serve a merciful and loving God. And indeed, many Christians have experience this love and mercy first hand throughout their lives. Those outside the religion, however, have leveled several criticisms against it, one of which is the idea of eternal punishment and how Christians could possibly promote the idea of a loving God on the same level as a deity who would eternally and painfully punish those who committed a crime no greater than not believing in him in a very specific way. My personal view is, however, of a God who is indeed merciful and just. Those who would see souls cast into eternal punishment, in my experience, have all been human who claimed to understand the mind of God. On the other hand, critics who would criticize God for such a harsh punishment are equally in ignorance of a mind of the divine. Eternal punishment is the most traditional view held by most Christians. It dictates that all who die not believing in God (or Christ as Savior) will be cast, with the Antichrist, into an eternal lake of fire. This is the main point of contention usually raised by non Christians such as Pinnock against the religion. The Universalist view is, however, is that all people who died, even those who died not believing, will ultimately be brought back to eternal life. A third group are the an nihilists, who believe that those who die without Christ will be completely annihilated in soul and body, which refers to the eternal ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 34. Podiatrist Personal Statement I was just two weeks into my internal medicine rotation at Suez Canal University in Egypt, when I encountered a case that I still remember to this day. Ms. Rafat was an elderly diabetic patient that came into our clinic complaining of a persistent wound on the sole of her foot. Upon removing her boots, her complaint turned out to be a foot ulcer with an infection extending to the first and second metatarsal bones .Unfortunately for her, we had to break the news to her and her family that her foot would need amputation. Ms. Rafat was understandably upset but took the news in stride. Following up on her case, I learned that after the surgery, the blood flow to her leg became increasingly poor and she had to return to have a below the knee amputation. Ms. Rafat ended up dying of pulmonary embolism as a complication of her second surgery. This case stayed with me not only because it ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 35. Oppression Against Jews And Anti-Semitism Throughout our history, public issues have always been around and discussed. There have been issues in society which still to this day are ongoing, and others which come and go depending on the time, environment and audience. Some public issues can be seen as positive, whereas others have negative connotations attached, and can affect society. Anti Semitism relates to a hostility against Jews. This can be seen through the history of the Jewish people, and the many persecutions, trauma and racism they have fought over thousands of years. Some has been documented, and others passed down from generation to generation. This has a damaging effect on the Jewish people as individuals, and others in the community who are affected by this on going exploitation. A current and recent issue was the Charlottesville riots in America, where a group of white supremacists went after the Jews. They chanted through a university in Virginia, Jews will not replace us , because they are scared that the Jewish people are going to take over the media, jobs, education and manipulate the minds of everyone throughout the society, that is why they are the only white people that are constantly targeted by the white supremacists. This specific public issue contributes to oppression at all three levels, which includes the personal, cultural and political dimensions. Oppression, which is a control of inferior groups within society by an influential group (Mullaly 2010), can occur on many different ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Two fluffy cathead biscuits, a hand sized piece of country fried steak, and mashed potatoes topped with a generous helping of black peppered, sawmill gravy took up residency in the remaining slots. And her no account son doesn t seem to take an interest in her. My grandmother wasn t prone to stern rebukes, so I knew her son must be a piece of work. I also knew he lived right next door to Grandma. We walked down the steps of the small side porch, crossed between her work shed and the corner of her small house and into the back yard, past the empty dog pen. Her faithful companion, Sam, the biggest and gentlest German Shepherd I d ever seen, died when I was five and she didn t have the heart to take it down. I d catch her staring out the kitchen window from time to time when washing dishes at the kitchen sink and wondered if she was thinking about him. Sure, she had every stray cat in a one mile radius lining up for her leftovers, but a part of her big heart left when he did. Behind the pen, at the end of her back yard, we walked past her rambling, smooth skinned Crepe Myrtle, my go to reading spot.
