High School Swimming Pool
Arriving at Thompson Rivers University, we stepped off the bus and looked at the pool. The
stench of chlorine burned our noses as we entered the pool. The interior design of the sport
complex was amazing although it seemed like a jail. The pool reminded me about the same pool

Abstract:
The Chinatown in Victoria is the oldest one in Canada and second in age to San Francisco s in
North America. As one of the national historical sites of Canada, Victoria s Chinatown remains an
active region for Victoria residents, tourists and Chinese Canadians. The modern Chinatown
continues to be a key component of downtown Victoria with a variety of tourist attractions
including bars, restaurants, food stores medicine shop and shopping areas nearby. The city of
Victoria embraces a multicultural society like the most of Canadian cities do. As the biggest
minority ethnic group, Asian population accounted for 23.5% of Victoria s total population and the
number has rapidly increased in recent years because of the trend of increasing immigration in the

Being a senior in high school, I am just discovering the secret to being a successful athlete; one
cannot just show up to practice and expect a desired outcome. Dedication is the willingness and
drive to go beyond one s boundaries for one s desires. Playing for a softball team that has 19 state
championships and 27 consecutive regional titles, I have always been taught that dedication was
the key. A lot of time has been put into practices to prepare for all the great titles the team and I
have won. Practice, effort, and teamwork are the main reasons on why dedication is the real

not make someone a successful athlete. As a young athlete my parents always forced me to
