Causes Of The Age Of Exploration
The geographical exploration was a period of time when European states began exploring the world.
The European exploration known as the Age of Discovery, or the Age of Exploration began in the
early fifteenth century and extended throughout the late sixteenth century. During this time,
European nations discovered new routes. This led to the discovering of trade from different places
outside of Europe. Europe exploration expanded to places such as the Americas, Africa, and much
of the Far East. Many events occurred because of brave voyagers and conquistadors. This guided
many early explorers such as Vasco de Gama and Christopher Columbusto look for new trade
routes. Trade became an important part of the economy. When it started to... Show more content on

Trading caused businesses to succeed in order to get money. The exploration introduced to the
businesspeople to more money and power. As trade increased, the economy well being of
Europe became more dependent on the economic growth of the colonies. (Brun, #375) In other
words, trading has been more open to the European market which caused businesses to do
surprisingly good. Even though business people in Europe were dependent on America s
plantations and invested their money in sugar and tobacco, large amounts of gold and silver was
given to the Europeans by Spain s Americans colonies. This proves that if the colonies keep on
doing a good job with trading, then this will help the growth of businesses in Europe. The
European government was also getting very powerful just because of how much gold and silver
European businesses was receiving. Economic growth has been impacted from all the trading
Europe has done with the Americas. New technological advancements allowed Europeans to travel
farther and explore places they haven t discovered, thanks to all the money that European business
got from all that trading.
Technological advancement and navigation was not the main motive for European exploration.
However, even though it was not the main reason for the exploration, it came second. The explorers
had to navigate using techniques in order to reach their destination. Technological items were
useful to them such as the compass, and astrolabe. Having reliable maps

News media today has traded in their hats from informing the citizens to telling the people what

Chivalry And The Codes Of Chivalry
The broad shouldered and muscular knight stood before his king, ready to take fealty. His sword
glistened from being wiped clean of battle. The knight was well known and honored throughout
the kingdom. These males made different vows to protect their country. There were ceremonies
for these affirmations. They had special clothing for battle and everyday living. One part of this
was because of the codes of chivalry. Chivalry has been around for centuries. Knights like those of
the middle ageshad many responsibilities and made vows to ensure their commitment to the codes
of chivalry.
Chivalry has a long background and a deep meaning. Coming from the French term horse soldiery
chivalry can be dated back as far as the 11th century ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These knights and their kin were also restricted from wearing cloaks (Mortimer). If the knights
obtained more than 400 marks of land then they had more privileges. The family could dress at
their will. Though they could not wear weasel or ermine fur (Mortimer). It s safe to say there are
many codes of chivalry and ways of living for these medieval knights. There were still numerous
other little and odd rules of these people. Even more rules applied when they took upon avowals.
Knights made several kinds of vows to their kingdom, country, and people of the city. However,
they would make these vows on behalf of their kings or lords. The men who took oaths were then
called fidelis, meaning faithful man in Latin (Biel). These pledges became common by the year
700. When a knight took a feudal oath of lifelong loyalty to their king, it was called an oath of
homage (Biel). Consequent to these oaths, the knight owed his life to his leader until death. That
doesn t mean he was treated poorly. They were given gifts that many people would only dream of
receiving. Knights that took vows were offered gifts like armour, horses, fine clothing, a home at
the castle, and produce from the land. Prized knights were even offered land. These gifts were
called benefices. It soon became mandatory for knights to take their vows. Over a period of time,
these oaths began to change.
During feudalism unexampled oaths took place. The feudalism time period took place between the
years 900 1500.

Art History Graduate Study
I recently attended a collection preview and donor reception in honor of the National Museum of
African American History and Culture s grand opening. I was invigorated by the museum s use of
cultural objects to narrate a people s history. Attending this event only reaffirmed my passion for
using art and material cultureto inform new insights. Studying the history of art is a great way to
explore the intersectionalities between art, culture, and identity. At Williams College, I aim to delve
further in my academic pursuits and exploration through the graduate program in Art History.
Past experiences influenced my decision to pursue art history, both academically and professionally.

During my time in the program, I realized that my ultimate career objective required a stronger
focus on the art itself rather than the theory and practice of museum operation. Through attending
the Art History graduate program at Williams, I aim to understand how previous art periods
influence recent works through its cultural or historical references. After reviewing your faculty s
areas of concentration, I am confident that I will receive a comprehensive education, learning to
analyze art and material culture from various perspectives.
Ultimately, I want to work towards extending the definition of art history canon and promote further
understanding of other cultures. Matriculating into the Art History graduate program at Williams
will allow me to assess the intersectionalities that stem from culture, identity, and artistic creation
using contemporary art and non Western art as my initial reference points. The knowledge I
obtain, and contribute, during the program will provide me with a solid base on which I can
continue my academic pursuits at the doctorate level and eventually apply this knowledge in a
curatorial or professorial capacity. I wholeheartedly believe that attending the Williams College Art
History graduate program will equip me with the academic and professional skills I need to
succeed and create a lasting impact in the art history realm.

Jim Crow Racism
This essay will argue that white people were violently racist towards African Americans in the south
because the threat of them succeeding economically, educationally, and socially created
competition for things that whites felt they were entitled to. Jim Crow laws were created as a way
to control the success of African Americans and prevent them from reaching their full potential in
society. Evidence of their actions proves this in the laws they made, the ways they treated them, and
the words said about them. Whites felt entitled to these things because they viewed themselves as
supreme .
The threat of African Americans succeeding economically motivated white southerners to act out.
For three centuries, African Americans did all of the hard work for white farmers, so they were
ahead of the farming game. They had outstanding knowledge of how to grow crops and the best
way to do it. Whites felt entitled to being superior, so they wanted to eliminate competition for
successful farmers. In Burke County, Georgia, an African Americanfarmer reported that his acreage
of land was reduced by the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service (ASCS) committee
so that his white neighbor could acquire more land. These acts of blatant racism were nearly
impossible to fight back on, because whites had such a tight grip on what African Americans could
do. Laws were made that told African Americans what they could do, and most importantly, what
they could not do. Educational

The Shouldr Joint
I am the shoulder joint but some people call me the glenohumoral joint. The shouldr joint is a ball
and socket type joint and is connected to part of the humerus and the scapula at the glenoid cavity.
This is the most mobile joint in the body, but also the most frequently injured. The rotator cuff,
which is a main component of the shoulder jointis often injured so research on how to efficiently
heal that injury is ongoing. The shoulder joint is extremely flexible compared to the rest of the
joints in the body. This flexibility is partly due to the fact that it is a ball and socket joint. By
being a ball and socket joint it means that it is capable of circumduction, angular, and rotational
movement. It allows one s arm to move up, down, to the right, to the left, and in a circle. Because
it has a large range of movement, it is unstable and easily damaged. To make up for this, it has
many ligaments and tendons to keep it in place. In addition, it also has the glenoid labrum which
deepens the shallow glenoid cavity and makes it more stable.... Show more content on

When this happens, it can very painful and even cause small, everyday things to hurt, lowering

which means that the patient has a very limited range of motion in their shoulder. Some ways to
treat rotator cuff injuries include physical therapy and surgery. There has been a recent study to
find ways to make the rotator cuff heal on its own. Some of these ways to improve tissue
regeneration in the rotator cuff include growth factors, platelet rich plasma (PRP), and stem cell(
Randelli et al. 2014). Another method that helps the rotator cuff is reverse arthroplasty, which relies
on other muscles in the shoulder to keep the placement of the shoulder because the muscles of the
rotator cuff are no longer

Types Of Binary Fission Decay
1)Describe the difference between: autotrophs, heterotrophs, chemotrophs, and phototrophs.
Autotrophs are organisms that can synthesize their own energy supply out of inorganic matter, such
as light or chemicals Heterotrophs are organisms that cannot synthesize their own energy, so they
receive their energy by consuming organic matter, such as plants or animals. Chemotrophs are
organisms that acquire energy an oxidation reduction reaction of organic or inorganic chemicals;
this meaning the electron donors of that environment have become oxidized. Phototrophs are
organisms that solely use light as the energy source to produce nutrients, such as the process of
photosynthesis.
2)Describe purpose and steps of binary fission. Also, explain how binary fission is described
mathematically and graphically and identify the two interchangeable terms used to describe this
growth.
Binary fission is the process in which a cell grows twice its normal size, and then the cell divides
in half to produce two daughter cells. This process is carried out by unicellular organisms because
it is their only way of reproduction. The cell begins this process by replicating the cell s DNA, and
the duplicated chromosomes attach to the cytoplasmic membrane or microtubules. Once attached,
these attachment sites push the chromosomes apart to expand the entire cell body. The cell now
produces a new cytoplasmic membrane, and along the mid line of the cell a septum begins to form.

direct proportion to changes in an activity driver (Hansen Mowen, 2009, p. 67). Therefore,
variable costs are these which is taken in consideration for decision making. For instance, in
health care the cost are divided in three categories (Health Service Costs, Costs borne by patients
and their families and External costs borne by the rest of the society (Robinson, 1993). Health
Service Costs includes costs that can be divided in fixed costs which remain the same whatever
the level of activity (heating, lighting) and variable costs which differ according the level of
activity (staff time). Additionally, an Environmental Management Accounting framework was
applied, at the end of the year 2000, for the Mackenzie Paper Division paper mill. This company
collects monthly data on costs and this figures are includes into the annual report. Costs are
classified to variable like fibre, chemicals, electricity and other energy and to fixed costs, such as
salaries, maintenance supplies, clothing, operating supplies and other expenses (Gale, 2006).
The second type of classification is direct costs and indirect costs and it depends on costs traceable.

Inhibitory Neurotransmitters
What are Neurotransmitters?
Neurotransmitters are various chemicals in the brain that work to convey information throughout
the brain and the rest of the body. They work to intensify electrical signals that are passed to
neurons (nerve cells). The brain holds the role of coordinating and processing complex information,
and how the brain deals with this job depends on the delicate balance of several different chemicals.
Neurotransmitters allow nerve cells to communicate messages by secreting these chemicals and
sending impulses across a synapse (the junction point between two neurons). There are many
requirements in which a molecule must meet in order to be classified as a neurotransmitter. Firstly,
the molecule must be synthesized inside ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It also regulates pleasurable emotions. Drugs such as heroin, cocaine, nicotine, and alcohol increase
the level of dopamine in the body. A drastically low level of dopamine has been linked to Parkinson
s disease, while schizophrenics are frequently found to have too much dopamine in the frontal lobes
of their brains. In addition, imbalances in this neurotransmitter have been linked to cases of
attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Serotonin is a vital inhibitory monoamine
neurotransmitter that can have strong effects on emotion, mood, awareness, and anxiety levels. It
is involved in controlling sleep, alertness, and eating. Psychedelic drugs, such as LSD, connect to
the serotonin receptor sites, and thus hinder the transmission of nerve impulses in order to change
sensory experiences. Depression, suicide, spontaneous behaviour, and hostility all appear to involve
certain discrepancies in the balance of serotonin

Emerson And Rascal Flatts Comparison

about relying on yourself to live the best life you can. He regrets having a lot to say but regretting
not saying any of it and now he only can wonder what would have happened. In Ralph Waldo
Emerson s Self Reliance and in Rascal Flatts song What Hurts the Most it proves that you can t
do things halfway in life because success means not giving up and following your dreams which
leads to happiness, individuality, and satisfaction with your life. This is shown by Emerson s

An Analysis of William Carlos Williams Poem, The Young...
An Analysis of William Carlos Williams Poem, The Young Housewife
In this poem, Williams uses a series of images to capture a fleeting moment in time, an emotion of
admiration and desire. The poem consists of three stanzas of varying length, and each share in a
similar method in portraying the woman and the narrator s relationship with her. Each stanza starts
out with somewhat broad statements about the scene, and as they each progress, they become more
specific until the image is pinned down to a specific moment in time. After reading the poem the
reader is left with three separate images, which describe the emotion/admiration felt by the narrator
for the woman.

Here again the time of day comes into play, as most everyone has a mental image of what the
lighting is like at about that time. Before one gets prepared for the day, after waking up, I imagine
the curtains pulled and stillness in the house. Here the poet is describing a moment that many of us
have shared at one time or another, making his proper word choice essential in not being too
specific but at the same time allowing details to filter through. It is the details that connate imagery
in the reader, while it is the simplicity that allows for individual interpretation.
In the second stanza the poet introduces the woman to the outside world. As she comes to the curb
to call the ice man,[and] fish man , she is still not fully clothed as she is, uncorseted, tucking in
stray ends of hair. This description tells more about her personality as her attire may help to explain
her shyness.
It is here where the author compares her to a fallen leaf. This could mean any number of things.
A fallen leaf is free from the rest of the tree, whether broken away because of the season s change or
from a gust of wind, the leaf has fallen and begins a stage of deterioration, as it is forever severed
from the life giving resources of the tree. While the idea of a fallen leaf is somewhat tragic, it is

Barbiturates
Hypnotic drugs produce sleeping effects on individuals. There are different groups of these
sleeping aids. The most common of these groups are the barbiturates, benzodiazepines and non
benzodiazepines. Here, aim to take a look at these three groups and find which group is better for
patients who are suffering from insomnia.
Barbiturates
Barbiturates affect the central nervous system and amongst the earliest medicines that appeared to

different parts of the world due to their simple availability and predictable action on the body.
Barbiturates are also quite useful as anaesthetic agents and are also used for recreational purposes.

They are usually prescribed for a short duration, because they carry a risk of causing addiction and
drug dependence. Long acting benzodiazepines are also great at treating anxiety and stress.
Among all the sleeping drugs, diazepam (Valium) is perhaps the best known psychoactive drug in
the world. It is highly effective and works with over 90% of the patients who are suffering from
insomnia. The extreme efficacy of the drug however, is its downfall because careless use can
produce drug dependence.
Non benzodiazepines
The non benzodiazepines represent the new class of hypnotic drugs. They are often termed as Z
drugs because their names start with the letter Z. Drugs such as Zopiclone and Zolpidem are
known to produce less toxic effects on the body, when used for treating conditions of sleeplessness
and psychological anxiety. The mechanism of action of these drugs however, is similar to that of
the benzodiazepine family.
All of the drugs belonging to this family modulate the GABA A receptors in the nervous system of
the patients. The main advantage of this drug family is that drug dependence occurs at a slower
pace. These are the major subdivisions in this drug family:

on the information from National Cancer Institute, people get these types of cancers because you
smoke too much, drink to much, or you just don t take care of yourself, meaning that they just
smoke and drink without thinking the consequences that they ll have. According to National
Cancer Institute, At least 75% of head and neck cancers are caused by the use of tobacco and
alcohol. People who use both tobacco and alcohol have a greater chance of developing these types

The Causes Of The Iranian Revolution Of 1978-79
The Iranian Revolution
The Iranian Revolution of 1978 79 is the revolt that led to the creation of the Islamic Republic.
This revolution refers to the overthrowing of the Pahlavi dynasty who was supported by the United
States. The revolution was sought after by civilians after the wasting of money and economic
concerns. The major export of oil began to rise in attempt to modernize Iran. This modernization
shifted the social classes causing havoc on the economy and cost of living. The revolution was
deemed a success and a new era would soon reign.
Who took over in the Iranian Revolution? In January 1978, The main protesters were youth in
disagreement to the slander against a popular Tehran newspaper, and the middle class Iranians who
were being prevented from participating in government.. By what they considered to be slander to a
TehrДЃn newspaper, thousands of young students took to the streets (Janet Afary, The Iranian
Revolution of 1978 79). Despite of all government attempts to calm the situation, a cycle of violence
began in which each death fueled an even greater protest. The citizens were not in consent to what
the autocratic government of Iran was accomplishing.
Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi was removed and he fled the country during the events of the
revolution. A new ruler took the role of Pahlavi. A man by the name of Ayatollah Khomeini
finally returned after 14 years of being exiled, but it wasn t easy. In 1979 students ambushed the
US Embassy in Tehran and took the staff hostage. With Khomeini leading them , the students
demanded the return of the ruler (Causes of Iran s Revolution). They held these workers hostage
for 444 days. Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi didn t live for much longer and died in 1980 in
Egypt from swollen lymph nodes.
The overthrowing of the Iranian government was deemed unsuccessful. The revolution helped
Iranian s break away from the relationship with the Savak Police. Who were known for being brutal
and torture (Claire Fink, Iranian Revolution 1979), but still many of Iran s citizens were brutally
murdered during the riots. After the revolution the citizens could not agree on a government that
would replace the monarch. This gave birth to urban radical Islam, which began

Judith And Holofernes By Artemisia Gentileschi
Throughout the years artists have chosen to portray the same event in the forms of paintings or
sculptures, but often, due to the time period and views or values of the artist the interpretations
differ and the final products are vastly different. Two primary examples of this are Caravaggio and
Gentileschi who are both renowned artists of the Baroqueera and style, which encompasses the
intensity of the colors, as well as the brutal subject matter that it entails.
Figures 17.9 Judith and Holofernes (c. 1598), by Caravaggio and figure 17.10 Judith Decapitating
Holofernes (c. 1620) by Artemisia Gentileschi both illustrate the same biblical story of Judith
seducing Holofernes and decapitating him to free the people of his oppressive rule. Caravaggio
and Gentileschi pick the precise moment of the decapitation and capture it with brutal realism.
These pieces when glanced at have a similar resemblance, but when one looks more deeply their
differences are put on display. The most apparent and most important difference that changes these
pieces entirely is the way the two artists choose to depict the nature of Judith. ... Show more content

Judith takes ahold of Holofernes head and begins to slice but her expression is one of
uncertainty and repulsiveness as she is standing away from the body. The maid stands besides her
anxiously awaiting for the act to be completed. In Caravaggio painting Judith is portrayed as
young and beautiful as well as more fragile and timid. Caravaggio uses an amplified chiaroscuro
called tenebrism. In his painting there is a dramatic contrast between a somewhat toned down light
and an intense dark. In his painting the darker shades are concentrated on Holofernes and the maid.
The light is casted upon Judith, which may be more of a use of symbolism of the heroines and
virtue of a young and beautiful

While the Federal Government enacted the Privacy Act in order to create these twelve conditions
for the Agency to follow, it also enacted consequences for violations of the Act. In an article
entitled Can an Agency be Punished for Improperly Contacting a Physician?, Cyberfeds Legal
Editor Rebecca E. Lawrence, Esq. expresses that it is a violation of the claimant s privacy rights to
contact his physician without first attempting to obtain the desired information from the claimant.
Only if the claimant fails to cooperate with the agency can the agency go directly to the physician
. (Lawrence, 2010). As such, the rule of engagement for an Agency seeking medical documentation
is the first go through the employee themselves to provide the requested medical documentation,
and should such failure to cooperate be evident, then the Agency can request the documentation
directly. Ms. Lawrence also discusses the consequences for a Privacy Act violation as she states
that monetary awards: will either be for the actual money the claimant lost because of the agency

noted that while a monetary consequence for a Privacy Act violation may be the recourse for

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Venture Capital Funds
VCs Who they are, who they fund in India.
Venture capital, as we use the term, refers to one type of private equity investing. Private equity
investments are investments by institutions or wealthy individuals in both publicly quoted and
privately held companies. Private equity investors are more actively involved in managing their
portfolio companies than regular, passive retail investors. The main types of financing included in
private equity investing are venture capital and management and leveraged buyouts.

Internet Is A Safe Haven For Criminals Essay
Would you believe me if I said that ninety nine percent of the internet is not accessible to the
average web surfer via your standard networks and search engines? The internet is like the ocean,
there is more than meets the eye and houses many deep dark back door servers and markets that
never reach the surface. Some may not be informed of this part of the internetand question its
existence, but the deep and dark webs exist and are hidden for a reason. Parts of the deep web
were created for good intentions, and some parts of the deep web give users access to information
that can be useful, but the negative aspects that have come from the deep web outweigh the
positive aspects, it is shown that the deep web is home to dangerous activity unseen by the naked
eye and has become a safe haven for criminals.
First a run down of the internet, the internet is made up of millions of computers all over the

Discuss How Shakespeare Uses Language and Dramatic...
Discuss how Shakespeare uses language and dramatic techniques for character development in
Act 2 Scene 2 of Measure for Measure. Shakespeare uses a variety of linguistic devices and
dramatic techniques for character development from Act 2 Scene 2 to Scene 4. We see Angelo s
precise, business like persona transform to temptation, and final cruelty whilst we see the true,
confident side of Isabella as as she attempts to convince Angelo to reverse his judgement, but
eventually loses her ignorant hope on the realisation of his true purpose . In Act 2 Scene 2
Shakespeare portrays Angelo as precise, intelligently dealing with the pleas of Isabella to save the
life of her brother by reversing the death sentence that has been handed down to him.... Show more

Comparing the characters of Angelo and Isabella, one could argue that Isabella is the symbol of
goodness and mercy set against a background of moral decay . Alternatively, one could see her
character as self righteous and hypocritical, as we later discover when she values her chastity
higher than her brother s life. Isabella continues arguing with Angelo until he finally relents and
tells her to come back the next day to hear his judgement. Everyone leaves, and Angelo speaks a
rather striking soliloquy, apparently talking to himself ...what art thou Angelo? Dost thou desire
her foully for those things that make her good? . Thus, through Shakespeare s staging, we learn
that Angelo admits to himself that he is in love with Isabella because of her virtue and purity.
Often characters in Shakespeare s plays have soliloquies but they do not often refer to
themselves in third person and when they do, it is often a sign of madness. Perhaps Shakespeare
is suggesting this as a sign for Angelo. What is certain is that he is struggling with an inward
battle between what he knows he should do and what he desires to do, as his develops and starts
questioning the morality of his own character. It is with great irony that Isabella s call to Angelo to
mark the weaknesses in his own heart is answered by Angelo s acknowledgement that he is tempted
by Isabella. It is this temptation that brings from Angelo his first

A hysterectomy is when an abortionist permanently removes the entire uterus and the baby with the
intent to kill the baby. Third trimester abortions are the same procedures as those performed in the
second trimester, but the United States only allows abortions after twenty four for medical reasons.
Abortion is one of the most controversial debate in the world today. The reason that this is such a
hard topic to solve is because of one simple question. When does life begin? The answer to that
question would end the debate of whether abortion should be considered murder or not. Viability
is currently the legal determining factor of when life begins. However, a baby shows signs of life
even before it is viable outside of the womb.

This begins at five weeks. If a baby is killed after five weeks, it should be considered murder.
When someone is shot and their heart never stops beating, it is called attempted murder, but if
the victim s heart stops beating, it is classified as a homicide. When a woman decides to abort
her child after five weeks, she is stopping the heart of a human being. Abortionists argue that
even if a baby has a heartbeat, it could not live outside of the womb until it is around twenty five
weeks, therefore it is not murder to kill someone that would not survive anyway. That is the
same as killing someone who is terminally ill just because they are not going to survive. A four
year old also cannot live on his own without a safe environment and nutrients, just as a baby
cannot survive without the safety and nutrition of the mother s womb. Does that mean it is okay
to kill a four year old too? Abortion will always be a debatable topic, so listen to your heart, the one
that has been beating inside of you since you were five weeks old, because it will help you make

Common Core State Standards ( Ccss )
Common Core State Standards (CCSS) is a widely debatable topic. Parents, teachers,
administration, and even states have taken a stance on what they believe. CCSS is a document
created by researchers, teachers, administration, and even the public, stating exactly what each
student in grades K 12 should be accomplishing by the end of each level. It is ideally in place for
teachers to have a clear understanding of what students are expected to achieve and know by each
benchmark test so they can ensure this readiness. Though much thought and exertion has gone into
the production and implementation of these standards, many myths have been formulated from
them, causing the standards to sound as if they do not have any advantage to our schools (
Understanding the Common Core ). Adopting common standards means bringing all states
standards down to the lowest common denominator. This means that states with high standards are
actually taking a step backwards by adopting the Common Core ( Utah Core Standards ). This is
one of the biggest myths that branch from common core. While this does seem reasonable to
believe, it is false. The creators of the criteria looked at the current standards nationally and globally
to compose a list from the highest benchmarks available. The new standards not only bring the
lower states up, but those with the highest expectations for their students have to bring their
schooling to the next level with Common Core in place. This provides the assurance

Norcantatharidins and their analogues are synthetic anticancer agents which have been used in
various different procedures for the inducing growth arrest and apoptosis of tumour cells and also
provide therapeutic and adjuvant therapeutic applications in the treatment of cancer agents.2 This
report will discuss the various different NCTD that are currently being studied, highlighting the
synthesis of these NCTD and their various biological pathways that are taken in order to inhibit the
growth of the correspondent cancer cell. In particular NCTD induced apoptosis of the hepatoma
cells will be considered and also highlighting the different views with the synthesis of the particular
NCTD and also the effectiveness of the methodology and its observations in response to other
NCTD and their mechanism in attacking the hepatoma cell site.
One study by Shuijun Zhanga et al had shown the ABT 737 induced apoptosis of hepatocellular
carcinoma cells (HCC) by the transcriptional repression of Myeloid cell leukemia 1 (Mcl 1).
Shuijun Zhanga et a. had shown that NCTD could affect apoptosis by the modification of the B cell
lymphoma 2

Banning Of A College Campus
After recent increase of violence activists arose in college campus the culprit being targeted is
unregulated speech. Many campuses are forming regulations on speech codes, others choose to
remain unregulated. The decision making process is not put at ease with the first and fourteen
amendment conflicting between the citizens rights to freedom of expression, and the right to equal
educational opportunities. Is there a middle ground that allows individuals to continue their
education in the sanction of a college campuses while not infringing on others right to speech? The
possibility is there where we can decide what protected and unprotected speech is without turning
the first amendment into a tool of domination. The fourteen amendment... Show more content on

If they liked Bush, we made them register to vote. But not if they liked Gore (Dolgow). The same
cannot occur on a college campus, however the fear remains on how information of others can be
used or the manipulation of first amendment can be used in a college setting. The fact remains that
there is a substantial difference between a corporation and a university. Universities are meant to
be a place of learning and just like science is able to accept new theories, we should be willing to
accept new ideas. Building tolerance as a community allows us to embrace unpopular ideas. That
being said, there is very good reasons to protect offensive or unpopular speech. During the 1950 s,
minority groups didn t have the right to vote and civil rights movements sprung across the country.
Voting right activists in the South experienced various forms of mistreatment and violence. One
such event on March 7, 1965, when peaceful participants in a voting rights march from Selma,
Alabama, to the state capital in Montgomery were met by Alabama state troopers who attacked
them with nightsticks, tear gas and whips after they refused to turn back ( Voting Rights Act ). One
can conclude, based on the reactions, the decision to call in the state troopers and the state troopers
attacking the protestors, that these individuals found the protest offensive and threatening their
values of white supremacy. Therefore, should we banned offensive or popular speech solely on the
fact that

The Movie The Demand For Self Reflexivity
The horror genre has tended to receive little critical success throughout its history. It is one of
the genres who relies on its audience to both decide how they re going to develop future texts
and mediums, as well as the subject that they will focus on. The fact that it has been around for
a long time makes the new developing genre of comedy/horror understandable, as a way to both
reflect on the generic tropes that have become second nature, as well as provide a new viewing
experience. The demand for self reflexivity can be seen in various social media and fan outcries
whereby audiences constantly belittle or ridicule their most beloved genre. They focus on the
classic elements of the genre, and how widespread they become throughout each movie, therefore
commenting on how those films made to be scary have become more comical than anything else.
Since the rise in these activities, Hollywood creators have taken the same approach as a way of
both paying homage and mocking the genre, in addition to creating relatability to the viewers and
their criticisms. Two films that emulate this are the 2009 Hollywood hit Zombieland and the
Swedish Cult FilmDead Snow. Through an analysis of these two, and their commentary on horror
filmthemes and characteristics, the idea of fandom interaction and interpretation will be seen as
having a strong influence of the genre. Moreover, it will illustrate how the new shift from the pure
generic manifestation of the genre has assisted in, not only

The European exploration known as the Age of Discovery, or the Age of Exploration began in the early fifteenth century and extended throughout the late sixteenth century. During this time, European nations discovered new routes. This led to the discovering of trade from different places outside of Europe. This proves that if the colonies keep on doing a good job with trading, then this will help the growth of businesses in Europe. The European government was also getting very powerful just because of how much gold and silver European businesses was receiving. Economic growth has been impacted from all the trading Europe has done with the Americas. New technological advancements allowed Europeans to travel farther and explore places they haven t discovered, thanks to all the money that European business got from all that trading. Technological advancement and navigation was not the main motive for European exploration. However, even though it was not the main reason for the exploration, it came second. The explorers had to navigate using techniques in order to reach their destination. Technological items were useful to them such as the compass, and astrolabe. Having reliable maps ... There were still numerous other little and odd rules of these people. Even more rules applied when they took upon avowals. Knights made several kinds of vows to their kingdom, country, and people of the city. However, they would make these vows on behalf of their kings or lords. The men who took oaths were then called fidelis, meaning faithful man in Latin (Biel). These pledges became common by the year 700. When a knight took a feudal oath of lifelong loyalty to their king, it was called an oath of homage (Biel). Consequent to these oaths, the knight owed his life to his leader until death. That doesn t mean he was treated poorly. They were given gifts that many people would only dream of receiving. Knights that took vows were offered gifts like armour, horses, fine clothing, a home at the castle, and produce from the land. Prized knights were even offered land. These gifts were called benefices. It soon became mandatory for knights to take their vows. Over a period of time, these oaths began to change. During feudalism unexampled oaths took place. • 11. Jim Crow Racism This essay will argue that white people were violently racist towards African Americans in the south because the threat of them succeeding economically, educationally, and socially created competition for things that whites felt they were entitled to. Jim Crow laws were created as a way to control the success of African Americans and prevent them from reaching their full potential in society. Evidence of their actions proves this in the laws they made, the ways they treated them, and the words said about them. Whites felt entitled to these things because they viewed themselves as supreme . The threat of African Americans succeeding economically motivated white southerners to act out. For three centuries, African Americans did all of the hard work for white farmers, so they were ahead of the farming game. They had outstanding knowledge of how to grow crops and the best way to do it. Whites felt entitled to being superior, so they wanted to eliminate competition for successful farmers. In Burke County, Georgia, an African Americanfarmer reported that his acreage of land was reduced by the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service (ASCS) committee so that his white neighbor could acquire more land. These acts of blatant racism were nearly impossible to fight back on, because whites had such a tight grip on what African Americans could do. Laws were made that told African Americans what they could do, and most importantly, what they could not do. Educational ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The rotator cuff, which is a main component of the shoulder jointis often injured so research on how to efficiently heal that injury is ongoing. The shoulder joint is extremely flexible compared to the rest of the joints in the body. This flexibility is partly due to the fact that it is a ball and socket joint. By being a ball and socket joint it means that it is capable of circumduction, angular, and rotational movement. It allows one s arm to move up, down, to the right, to the left, and in a circle. Autotrophs are organisms that can synthesize their own energy supply out of inorganic matter, such as light or chemicals Heterotrophs are organisms that cannot synthesize their own energy, so they receive their energy by consuming organic matter, such as plants or animals. Chemotrophs are organisms that acquire energy an oxidation reduction reaction of organic or inorganic chemicals; this meaning the electron donors of that environment have become oxidized. Phototrophs are organisms that solely use light as the energy source to produce nutrients, such as the process of photosynthesis. 2)Describe purpose and steps of binary fission. Also, explain how binary fission is described mathematically and graphically and identify the two interchangeable terms used to describe this growth. Binary fission is the process in which a cell grows twice its normal size, and then the cell divides in half to produce two daughter cells. This process is carried out by unicellular organisms because it is their only way of reproduction. The cell begins this process by replicating the cell s DNA, and the duplicated chromosomes attach to the cytoplasmic membrane or microtubules. Once attached, these attachment sites push the chromosomes apart to expand the entire cell body. The cell now produces a new cytoplasmic membrane, and along the mid line of the cell a septum begins to form. Upon completion of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 24. Judith And Holofernes By Artemisia Gentileschi Throughout the years artists have chosen to portray the same event in the forms of paintings or sculptures, but often, due to the time period and views or values of the artist the interpretations differ and the final products are vastly different. Two primary examples of this are Caravaggio and Gentileschi who are both renowned artists of the Baroqueera and style, which encompasses the intensity of the colors, as well as the brutal subject matter that it entails. Figures 17.9 Judith and Holofernes (c. 1598), by Caravaggio and figure 17.10 Judith Decapitating Holofernes (c. 1620) by Artemisia Gentileschi both illustrate the same biblical story of Judith seducing Holofernes and decapitating him to free the people of his oppressive rule. Caravaggio and Gentileschi pick the precise moment of the decapitation and capture it with brutal realism. These pieces when glanced at have a similar resemblance, but when one looks more deeply their differences are put on display. The most apparent and most important difference that changes these pieces entirely is the way the two artists choose to depict the nature of Judith. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Judith takes ahold of Holofernes head and begins to slice but her expression is one of uncertainty and repulsiveness as she is standing away from the body. The maid stands besides her anxiously awaiting for the act to be completed. In Caravaggio painting Judith is portrayed as young and beautiful as well as more fragile and timid. Caravaggio uses an amplified chiaroscuro called tenebrism. In his painting there is a dramatic contrast between a somewhat toned down light and an intense dark. In his painting the darker shades are concentrated on Holofernes and the maid. The internet is like the ocean, there is more than meets the eye and houses many deep dark back door servers and markets that never reach the surface. Some may not be informed of this part of the internetand question its existence, but the deep and dark webs exist and are hidden for a reason. Shakespeare uses a variety of linguistic devices and dramatic techniques for character development from Act 2 Scene 2 to Scene 4. We see Angelo s precise, business like persona transform to temptation, and final cruelty whilst we see the true, confident side of Isabella as as she attempts to convince Angelo to reverse his judgement, but eventually loses her ignorant hope on the realisation of his true purpose . In Act 2 Scene 2 Shakespeare portrays Angelo as precise, intelligently dealing with the pleas of Isabella to save the life of her brother by reversing the death sentence that has been handed down to him.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Comparing the characters of Angelo and Isabella, one could argue that Isabella is the symbol of goodness and mercy set against a background of moral decay . Alternatively, one could see her character as self righteous and hypocritical, as we later discover when she values her chastity higher than her brother s life. Isabella continues arguing with Angelo until he finally relents and tells her to come back the next day to hear his judgement. Everyone leaves, and Angelo speaks a rather striking soliloquy, apparently talking to himself ...what art thou Angelo? Dost thou desire her foully for those things that make her good? . Thus, through Shakespeare s staging, we learn that Angelo admits to himself that he is in love with Isabella because of her virtue and purity. Often characters in Shakespeare s plays have soliloquies but they do not often refer to themselves in third person and when they do, it is often a sign of madness. Perhaps Shakespeare is suggesting this as a sign for Angelo. What is certain is that he is struggling with an inward battle between what he knows he should do and what he desires to do, as his develops and starts questioning the morality of his own character. It is with great irony that Isabella s call to Angelo to mark the weaknesses in his own heart is answered by Angelo s acknowledgement that he is tempted by Isabella. Third trimester abortions are the same procedures as those performed in the second trimester, but the United States only allows abortions after twenty four for medical reasons. Abortion is one of the most controversial debate in the world today. The reason that this is such a hard topic to solve is because of one simple question. When does life begin? That is the same as killing someone who is terminally ill just because they are not going to survive. Parents, teachers, administration, and even states have taken a stance on what they believe. CCSS is a document created by researchers, teachers, administration, and even the public, stating exactly what each student in grades K 12 should be accomplishing by the end of each level. It is ideally in place for teachers to have a clear understanding of what students are expected to achieve and know by each benchmark test so they can ensure this readiness. Though much thought and exertion has gone into the production and implementation of these standards, many myths have been formulated from them, causing the standards to sound as if they do not have any advantage to our schools ( Understanding the Common Core ). Adopting common standards means bringing all states standards down to the lowest common denominator. This means that states with high standards are actually taking a step backwards by adopting the Common Core ( Utah Core Standards ). This is one of the biggest myths that branch from common core. While this does seem reasonable to believe, it is false. The creators of the criteria looked at the current standards nationally and globally to compose a list from the highest benchmarks available. The new standards not only bring the lower states up, but those with the highest expectations for their students have to bring their schooling to the next level with Common Core in place. It is one of the genres who relies on its audience to both decide how they re going to develop future texts and mediums, as well as the subject that they will focus on. The fact that it has been around for a long time makes the new developing genre of comedy/horror understandable, as a way to both reflect on the generic tropes that have become second nature, as well as provide a new viewing experience. The demand for self reflexivity can be seen in various social media and fan outcries whereby audiences constantly belittle or ridicule their most beloved genre. They focus on the classic elements of the genre, and how widespread they become throughout each movie, therefore commenting on how those films made to be scary have become more comical than anything else.
