In the past, in diesel engine fuel pressure was controlled mechanically and depending
on the camshaft. Due to this geography lots of problems occurs like engine emission,
engine torque, engine efficiency etc. To overcome these problem or for the better
performance caterpillar invented new technology called Hydraulically actuated
Electronic Unit Injection (HEUI) fuel systems.

This experiment examined the relation between wood and aluminum surfaces and
their friction. The coefficient of static and kinetic friction can be derived from the
experiments with the use of a horizontal Atwood s machine and a Super Pulley. The
static friction was tested by setting up an equilibrium with the hanging massand the
frictional force. Three tests were conducted with increasing additional mass on the
frictionblock. An unbalanced force was required to test for the coefficient of kinetic
friction. This is possible through solving for the acceleration of the unbalanced
force. The total mass of the system is constant through all four of the tests, but
different masses were added to the hanging mass so that the acceleration would have
a variety of different accelerations to accurately solve for the kinetic friction. As a
result, our coefficient of static and kinetic friction are Ојs = 0.26 В± 0.02 and Ојk =
0.30 В± 0.01 respectively.

so their coefficient of frictions may be different from the regular coefficient of

The Really Big One is an article by Kathryn Schulz about the Cascadia Subduction
Zone, a fault line that runs seven hundred miles along the West Coast. It consists of
two tectonic plates where one plate is sliding underneath another. In this case, the
oceanic plate Juan de Fuca is sliding under the continental plate known as the North
American plate. In her article, Schulz repeats the words of seismologists and
scientists alike in the opinion that the Cascadia Subduction Zone is overdue for a

was to attend 20 hours of environmental safety courses. During the courses I had
learned of several methods used to prevent pollution. One of the discussions
centered on a list with subcomponents outlining ways that employees could help to

completed the courses I had a meeting with the department manager and discussed
the need to educate the employees in our department on environmental safety and

A Magritek NMR spectrometer along with MNOVA software was used to obtain
the 1H NMR spectrum by inserting an epi tube containing CDCl3 solvent with
60mg of dissolved 4 bromo N 4 (chlorophenyl)methylene] benzenamine from the
purest sample obtained from the reaction using molecular sieves into the
spectrometer. Once the tube was inserted, proton protocol was selected with
parameters of CDCl3 as the solvent and it underwent a quickscan to acquire the
spectrum. When the scan was completed the spectrum was transferred to the
MNOVA software for process, label, integrate, and summarized the collected
peaks. The IR spectrum was obtained using a different machine since the Magritek
NMR spectrometer used only produced 1H and 13C NMR spectrums from samples
placed in an epi tube. The IR spectrum was recorded using a Nicolet iS5 FT IR
spectrometer and OMNIC software. A small about of sample was placed on the
ATR crystal and pressure was applied to allow for the clearest spectrum possible.
Infrared light was emitted by the pressure device to penetrate the sample and
produced the necessary peaks to identify the structure. First, the background without
the crystal being in contact with any pressure or sample was collected, but not saved
to the spectrum; hence, only the spectrum of the sample itself was displayed for the
sample s spectrum. When the actual sample s spectrum was collected, the peaks were

Canada s copyright law is one of our hardest laws to enforce. The reason the police
have so much trouble enforcing this law, is due to technology. This law is very
easy to break, and once broken, it is very hard to track down violators. So although
some form of a copyright law is needed, the one we have has, too many holes to be
effective. There are three main ways in which the copyright lawis broken in everyday
life. They is audio/video tape copying, plagiarism, and software piracy.
The first, and most commonly violated aspect of the copyright law, is the copying of

Very often a student when doing a research paper will quot;accidently quot; forget to
footnote his work. By quot;forgetting quot; to give the author credit, the student has
claimed the work as his own. Another reason students may copy someone else s
work is to sound more sophisticated hoping that if they use someone elses words it
will sound better than their own. Generally, this provides an easy way for a teacher
or the police to catch them.
Teachers also plagiarize rather frequently. Very often a teacher will photocopy
several pages from a book, in order to save the students the expense of having to
buy the book for themselves. While this is a noble act by the teacher, in most cases,
this is illegal. Unless the author of the book, gave consent for his/her work to be
freely distributed, teachers can t copy it any more than students or anyone else can.
The third category of piracy is Software Pirating. There are several forms which
this can take. The most common form is very similar to audio/video cassettes. It is
when someone copies a game or program from his/her computer to someone elses.
As long as the two people have the same type of computer, (they both have apples
or IBM s) this is a very simple process, so long as the programmer didn t put a bug
into the program (a precaution they take against people copying their work).
