Essay Woodrow Wilson and The Treaty of Versailles
Woodrow Wilson and The Treaty of Versailles
Woodrow Wilson, Premier Clemenceau, Prime Minister Lloyd George and Premier Orlando started
the Versailles Treaty committee. Wilson worked to win the Senates consent of the Treaty of Versailles
when he returned to America in July of 1919. Basically the treaty forced on Germany the burden of
reparations, and to take complete blame for the war. Woodrow Wilson felt that the treaty was too
harsh, placing unrealistic goals on Germany. Wilson wanted to add his Fourteen Points, which was a
less harsh approach to punish Germany. Unfortunately not all the points were added to the Treaty of
Versailles, but some points were introduced into the treaty. The Treaty that President Wilson agreed on

In the political cartoon, Document E, the artist is portraying Woodrow Wilson and foreign
entanglements getting married. Objecting to the marriage is the United States Senate, holding a paper
of their constitutional rights. The Senate largely opposed the League Covenant Article 10 , the League
of Covenant required member nations to attempt to solve disputes peacefully. If that attempt fails, the
nations were to observe a waiting period before going to war. This Article took away Senates
constitutional power to declare war. They were upset about this; they wanted their constitutional rights
protected. Document H strongly urges The League of Nations, yet it criticizes both the Republicans
who got involved and Woodrow Wilson. W.E.B. De Bois criticizes Wilson, saying that if he weren t so
stubborn and idiotic then the League of Nations would have worked. Since Wilson wasn t willing to
compromise with the Republicans, the United States must suffer by not joining in at the assembly of
the League of Nations, which is the most forward looking event of the century according to De Bois.
These three documents all criticize Wilson in one way or another. They blame the unsuccessful

Nasa s Space Exploration
When one thinks of space, one is always left with questions because humanity can still not describe it
fully. When attempted, the general public describes it as an area in, which Earth exists and is made up
of solar systems consisting of a sun and planets. But nowadays, space has turned into so much more;
with recent discoveries space can be seen as a living system in which there is a possibility that other
life besides humanity is present. In the past space travel was said to only be able to send drones or
robots past the moon, but with recent advances the transport of humans is closely becoming a fact.
These advances in science are driven by the recent discoveries like the fact that life was once present
on Mars. However some among humanity ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of the arguments comes from conservative people of various faiths. Their argument follows the
belief that God only created one planet of life, causing any scientific theories related to life outside of
Earth to be rejected, since it would disprove the belief that God created Earth. Another argument is
that the money used to fund NASA s space exploration could be used in a better way. According to
Piers Bizony, I have for some time considered space research a gross waste of money, time and effort
that could be much better applied to the management of our own planet. (9) This argument is
understandable however the fact that global warming, and rainforests depleting is occurring provides
more of an incentive in finding another planet with life. It would allow for a rebirth and have the
world start over, since both of the effects are a caused by humanity s daily lives. A third argument is
that the Earth has not even been fully discovered yet so it makes no sense to explore outside of it.
According to Gary Westfahl In short, the history of our species powerfully suggests that progress will
come from continued stable life on Earth, and that a vast new program of travel into space will lead to
a new period of human stagnation. (11) This argument is true that Earth has still not been discovered,
but Westfahl fails to acknowledge that with the study of Earth like planets we learn more about our
universe and our planet. This allows for the study of two subjects with one planet ultimately leading to
a greater understanding of the

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Sound
It s a well known that during our ancient times, our great sages bestowed with enormous wisdom
practiced their art in peaceful and quiet surroundings. Most of them are believed to have made the
Great Himalayas their abode from wherein they meditated and practiced their preaching s.
One of the key reasons they took to the higher mountain reaches, amongst others, was to take
advantage of the silent and peaceful surroundings so that they could focus their minds on their
thoughts without any extraneous disturbances and the associated cacophony which was inevitable in
the trappings of everyday life. Great words and thoughts of wisdom emanated from such surroundings
for the guidance of future generations. Needless to mention that they used to undergo ... Show more

Xaverians are anyways trained to be great team workers. May be the departments of Bio Technology,
Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Computer Science could come together on this cutting edge
project. Our friends from the Economics and Commerce departments could help us decode the
enormous gains that would accrue to our national GDP once we start marketing this technology.
As an aside, our friends who are focusing their studies on the exciting future of Sound , need not be
disheartened since even after this innovation comes around, Sound shall continue to exist all around
us, except within us, and that too, only when we would want it to be so. I am sure even they
themselves would greatly benefit from this innovation.
As a note of caution I would suggest at the onset itself that our defence personnel shall be deprived of

Reducing Credit Card Debt
For those who have massive credit card debts under their belts and would like to see that amount
dwindle away to nothing, there are quite a number of ways to reduce credit card debts. Well there are
two most important things of course such as you having both the commitment and willingness to see
that the problem gets solved. This also helps reducing credit card debt so much easier in the process.
A lot of people have been buried by mountains of debts and are looking for quick ways to reduce it
and be done with financial problems forever. Especially since the amount you pay every month doesn
t seem to make any difference whatsoever in the total amount that is due. No thanks to surcharges and
late fees.
Now the first thing to know in order ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This works to reduce your credit card debts in short lengths of time. You can go on and use the equity
from refinancing your home to pay off the credit card debt.
* Make sure though, that before refinancing your home, everything to be done and the processes that
you have to take is understood and that you will not under any circumstances; use your credit card to
pay off the financing on your house. Seriously, that would be going around in circles, debt wise.
As is true with any other techniques or ideas to reducing credit card debt, you will encounter negative
and positive feedback and factors when it comes down to paying more and that includes things like
home refinancing. And if all else fails, you can always go out and apply for a personal loan to get all
your debts paid instead of getting another credit card that offers a lower rate; And then using that new
credit line to pay off the previous debt on the first credit card. What was that I said about going in
circles?
Nevertheless, reducing credit debt takes more research and thinking than you would care to admit.
You have to take extra care in considering every situation so as to make the best choice. If you would
want, a credit counselor would be happy to help you out and offer sound

Development Of Symphonies And Their Composers
Development of Symphonies and Their Composers Early eighteenth century the term symphony was
applied to the instrumental preludes and postludes of vocal pieces such as arias and songs. By
derivation the word means simply a music ensemble . Today, we apply the term to a much larger
composition such as an orchestra (typically in three or four movements). The symphony can also be
defined as a sonata for orchestra. Symphonies of the earlier era, the classical era, were mostly simpler,
and followed a smaller scale. Later, during the romantic era, the symphony had grown in number and
length of the movements, the instruments used to increase not only in quantity but in quality. There
was also a wider dynamic range due to the variety in instruments played. Of the seventeenth century,
the term symphony originated from the word Sinfonia , which was used for introductory movements
for operas, oratorios and cantatas. Today, the symphony is generally regarded as the highest type of
instrumental music. Beginning in the eighteenth century, the first symphonies were intensely
developed. Music had three parts: fast, slow, fast, and eventually became dance like fast. This form
became popular in Italy, but then spread to Germany and England. That s why most music terms are
written in Italian. The first movement of the Sinfonia received little to no attention, it merely served as
a cover to the entrance of the people arriving late. The second movement gave contrast with lyrical
melody,

Images of the Future in Neurology
The study of neurology attempts to explain the most fascinating aspects unique to humanity and
theorizes an explanation for the causes of mental dysfunctions. Vilanyur S. Ramachandran, nicknamed
The Marco Polo of Neurology (UCSD), has discovered many interesting facts about the human brain,
and his studies with those who have mental disorders have transformed neuroscience. One of his
greatest research topics, mirror neurons, poses as an explanation of phenomena ranging from the
development of language and the transmission of culture to empathy, autism, and even the uniqueness
of the human species (Melnick). Through his studies of mirror neurons and their possible impact
specifically relating to autism spectrum disorder, more great discoveries and treatments may occur in
the future.
Born in 1951, Ramachandran developed an early interest in science. In the introduction of his novel
The Tell Tale Brain, he stated, Although my current interest is neurology, my love affair with science
dates back to my boyhood in Chennai, India. (Ramachandran 5). He developed a passion for multiple
sciences including chemistry, biology, botany, zoology; he also loved history and anthropology. His
mother also encouraged his interest in science; they were a well traveled family, so she brought him
zoological specimens from all around the world, and his father brought him a Carl Zeiss research
microscope when he was in his early teens. He acquired multiple degrees, being initially trained

John Was Preaching Against Rome
John was preaching against Rome in Revelation
In the late first century a follower of Jesus of Nazareth, John of Patmos, received a vision of the end
the world. John later wrote this vision down and his writing has come down to modernity as The Book
of Revelation also known as The Apocalypse of John. When John wrote Revelation was he using it as
a coded message to preach against Rome? In this vision, John saw many images that could be read as
Rome or Roman if viewed from a historical context. Subsequent generations have interpreted the
imagery within their own historical context. With this paper I will argue that Revelation pertains to the
Roman world and culture that John and his followers were living in, the events in Judea that are
thought to have occurred within his life time and that John used some of the same imagery to connect
his writing to the Hebrew Bible. There are two main competing dates for the writing of Revelation, an
early date of 69 70 and a later date of 90 92. This paper will be using the 69 70 date and will be
providing evidence to prove why this date works better for the context of this paper. First this paper
will establish the time frame in which John wrote Revelation. George H. van Kooten s article, The
Year of the Four Emperors and the Revelation of John: The pro Neronian Emperors Otho and
Vitellius, and the Images and Colossus of Nero in Rome, from Journal for the Study of the New

Identity and Belonging
Being perceived as different may make it difficult to belong. Not being able to belong is a confusing
and unfortunate case, where one can find themselves lost and frustrated, as they do not have a safe
zone. Through the use of text and film, it can be explored that this concept if difference hinders one
from feeling a sense of belonging. Whether it be a persons inability to adapt or their lack of
confidence. As we progress through life we discover that our differences make it harder for us to
belong. As shown in growing up in australia , tormenting young adolescents is something of second
nature to the average joe. With different colour comes great responsibility. sunnil , a young Indian boy

we choose to belong to help build up our identity and it is our duty to expose this to the world. The
need to belong is inevitable whether you were part of one group or fifty, a sense of acceptance assists

Femininity In Frankenstein Essay
Through the lack of female characters, and the dominance of goal oriented males, Shelley
demonstrates through Frankenstein that femininity, as defined by Michelle Miller, is both not a
necessity, as well as a crucial component in society.
The women in Frankenstein have a lot of femininity, as they are caring and compassionate and fit
Miller s definition, but due to their minor presence and use in the storyline, Shelley illustrates that she
doesn t believe that the world needs more femininity. When reading Frankenstein, one cannot help but
notice that the female characters have little substance compared to the male characters. This may have
been a result of the era in which she wrote: one in which females were treated inferior to males. ...

Because they are used for nothing more than their looks and seen very little in the plot, Shelley clearly
demonstrates her belief that femininity isn t needed to create a balanced society. On the other hand,
Mary Shelley also highly supports the need for increased femininity in the world, shown through the
inclusion of Henry, the female monster, and even through the absence of female characters. Miller
described femininity as a personality trait, not just a characteristic confined to females or males. Henry
personifies femininity and supports Miller s explanation that femininity is not just for women. Henry,
deeply read books of chivalry and romance. He composed heroic songs...and was so full of kindness
and tenderness (39/40). He is focused on experiences, like travelling through Europe and learning
Oriental languages, while Victor is focused on chasing his creature. Although Henry comes to a tragic
end, his life is much happier than Victor s because he did not confine his life to fixating exclusively on
results. Shelley also confirms that the world demands increased femininity by adding the possibility of
a female creature. Victor creating her mirrors injecting greater femininity into the world. He created
the original creature by himself and after seeing the damage he caused, agreed to make him a female
partner; After a long pause of reflection, I concluded that the justice due both to him and my fellow

The First Meditation By Rene Descartes
Topic: How does Descartes argue that mind and body are distinct? Is he right? Am I real, or
imaginary? In the First Meditation, Rene Descartes presents the main falsehoods in which he believed
during his life, and the subsequent faultiness he experienced concerning the body of knowledge. The
philosopher considers that it is never too late to rethink the knowledge about his personal being from
the very foundations, and builds his thoughts on a certain ground starting from common things. It
would be impossible to doubt each thing separately, so he expresses his doubt to the basic principles
of knowledge he has already gained, since a conclusion would surely be doubted if its premise was
doubted. He starts by doubting basic senses, by comparing feels in reality vs. in dreams. For example,
even if I consciously feel warm when I am walking in the sun, I could not claim that I am hundred
‐
percentage sure I am awake, since I would feel it the same way when I was in dreams. Descartes
presents this idea to show the doubt of reality and its elements. Also, he concludes that the common
things we perceive are fashioned, and knowledge based on that can be doubted, such as physics and
astronomy. This category of knowledge are different from geometry and arithmetic, which contain
certain and definiteness in the simplest thing. By doubting the sense and knowledge based on it,
Descartes argued his approach that the body and mind are two absolutely distinctive things. Descartes

Pepsico Is The Most Valuable Brand
PepsiCo operates in the beverages/soft drinks industry in the consumer goods sector (Yahoo! Finance,
2016). According to Forbes, PepsiCo is rated 29th as the most valuable brand (Forbes, 2016). While
Coca Cola has mostly stayed within the boundaries of the beverage/soft drink industry, only venturing
out from soft drinks to include sport drinks, energy waters, and most recently tea and coffee, PepsiCo
has done that in addition to adding snack foods to its distribution. PepsiCo has significant holdings in
the snack food industry including brands such as Tostitos, Lays, Ruffles, Cheetos, Sabra, and Quaker
just to name a few (PepsiCo, 2016a). Much like Coca Cola, PepsiCo s business is seasonal as cold
drinks have increased sales in the summer, whereas warm drinks have higher sales in the winter
(PepsiCo, 2016a). PepsiCo s diversification in the snack foods industry does provide some balance.
Assessment of PepsiCo Financial Statements

indicators can be reviewed in Table 7. Although Coca Cola s dividend payout ratio was increasing at a
rate unsustainable relative to the increase in free cash flow, PepsiCo paints a different picture. In fact,

In the 1970 s the Black rhinoceros (Diceros bicornis) population could be numbered at around 70,000
( Black rhinoceros , 2016). Today there are fewer than 5,000 of these animals left due to overhunting
and poaching ( Black rhinoceros , 2016). This literature review to highlights information relevant to
conservation efforts with regards to the black rhino. It looks at relevant articles from four reputable
journals and two films to establish pertinent information with regards to conservation efforts and
obstacles via artificial insemination and embryo transfer, population dynamics, and disease. The
articles will be listed in chronological order followed by the films also being discussed in
chronological order, in order to establish event trend in conservation effort. The observation of the
Black rhino is critical to establish data concerning reproductive trends, population sizes, natural
predators, social habits, and etc. which may be used to help procure a sustainable population. From the

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Living With Parents
The majority of teenagers for years dream about the day they finally get to move out of their parents
home and start living independently. Suddenly when it s time to move out and live on their own it
becomes overwhelming. Most teenagers think they are ready to take on the responsibility of living
independently but when reality sets in, they realize that providing for themselves is surprisingly more
difficult than living with their family. Living alone and living with family has its own advantages and
disadvantages which include the amount of responsibilities, freedom and financial stability an
individual has.
When living with your parents, everything is prepared for you. The responsibilities a teenager is given
are based on the parents trying to prepare them for early adulthood. This means sharing
responsibilities that contribute to the house such as chores. For example, today you have to do the
dishes, the next day you have to clean the living room and the bathroom. A disadvantage of living with
your parents would be the amount of freedom you are given. For example, you have a set curfew time
to be home by, and the consequences of arriving late past the curfew time would be a punishment like
getting grounded, no internet for two days, or getting your favorite play system taken away. You re not
allowed to talk on the phone past certain hours and you re not allowed to go to that concert you ve
been waiting to go to because your parents would rather have you stay home.

What Are The Three Sociological Perspectives
In America, there are many different corporations and groups of people that make us what we are.
With every different setting, there are new norms, values, beliefs, and ways of doing things. Sociology
then studies those different aspects of a place and sees how they shape the social world that we live in.
Within sociology, there is three main perspectives that a sociologist can see the world. Through Social
Interactionism, Functionalism, and Marxism and Social Conflict, the workplace, church, and federal
agencies can be seen in a different way. Social interactionism is the perspective that zooms into the
individual interactions of people and studies the exchange of symbols through social interactions. One

To him, conflict was a normal feature of society and through conflict, people could make their lives
better. At the workplace, conflict is very natural. Take for instance the problem that the Record
Democrat has almost every week, a slow news week. Granted, this newspaper in only printed once a
week, but in a small town sometimes nothing really happens. With this problem, several other
conflicts arise. One of the bigger conflicts created is the amount of blank space left once the paper is
laid out. This is then dealt with by what the workers call, fillers. Fillers are ads that promote the R D,
and make people want to buy a subscription. Another large thought of Marx, is the using of power by
groups and individuals to promote their interest. Marxist could look at these fillers as a way that
power is exerted onto the public. People have to buy subscriptions in order for the R D to stay in
business and keep producing the newspaper. The power comes from being the only newspaper
company around. If the R D goes out of business, there will be no more local news. A place where
conflict never seems to happen, but occurs all the time, is at the local church. How could a place of
such harmony and grace have large amounts of conflict? One example that has recently arose was
when St. Peter got a new pastor. She was a very nice middle aged women who had a different way of
teaching from the bible. Pastor J (this was what she went by) taught in a way that connected things to
the modern world and spoke of the biblical teachings in a modern tongue. One of the big concepts that
she always talked about was justice for the world and righteousness. The extremely traditional high
council members of the church did not like this new way that Pastor J spoke of the world. It went
against the self centeredness that the church thrived off of. This was a huge conflict within the church,
actually splitting the congregation

Notes on Pricing Strategy
Notes on Pricing Decisions
In this note, we will discuss the pricing of a given product or a service. We will only discuss the
pricing of an individual product/service and not the pricing across a set of products in a product line.
Thus in the discussion that follows, we assume that the pricing decision of the product/service under
consideration has no bearing on the profitability of other products/services in the portfolio of the firm.
1. Overview of the Pricing Decision:
While making the pricing decision, it is assumed that the product is given to us. Thus as a first step,
we eliminate all those segments/customers who will not buy the product regardless of the price that
we charge. For instance, consider the Land Rover case ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This completes the overview of the pricing decisions. In what follows, we will first discuss the pricing
decision for a simple case when there is only one vertical segment. Following that, we will discuss the
pricing for the case when there is more than one vertical segment. Moreover in both cases, we will
assume that the broad horizontal segment is given to us.
2. Pricing Decision for a simple case when there is only one Vertical Segment:
The simple case of one vertical segment means that all consumers in the broad horizontal segment
have similar willingness to pay for the product under consideration. The pricing decision for this
simple case entails two steps: In step 1, we assess the the economic value to the consumer (EVC) of
the product under consideration. In step 2, we assess the willingness to pay for the product under
consideration, where the willingness to pay will be price that we will charge. The two steps are
explained as follows.
2.1 Assessing the economic value to the consumer:
One assesses the the economic value to the consumer (EVC) of a product under consideration by
understanding the reference product, the price and value of the reference product, and the difference in
the value delivered (to the buyer) by the reference product and the product under consideration. In
other words, to assess the EVC of a product under consideration, we need to have a reference product,
the price of the reference product

Workers During The 1900s S
Workers in the 1870s to 1930s Throughout history many people, such as politicians, officials, and
generals, have been noted to have molded the United States, neglecting the fact that workers have also
played an important role in shaping this nation s history. During the 1870s to the 1930s, laborers faced
many hardships; they had trouble keeping their jobs, had their wages decreased, and were forced to
work sixty hour weeks without insurance. Over time, workers began to feel aggravated by their
employers demands and began to voice their opinions. Only by forming into unions and standing up to
what employers thought was freedom in the workplace were the laborers able to change working
conditions more favorable for them. Early in the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Eventually the workers began to protest. They went on strikes, formed unions, and even used violence
against the employers. One of the unions called the Knights of Labor, founded in the 1869, fought for
eight hour workdays and wage equality among male, female, black, and white workers. They
participated in many strikes, boycotts, and other activities protesting for workplace freedom. Another
labor union was the American Federation of Labor founded in 1881 consisting of mostly skilled
workers. Formed in 1903, the International Ladies Garment Workers Union and Women s Trade Union
League also played a role in aiding workers, specifically female laborers, to gain work rights. These
labor movements played significant roles in history because they influenced or forced employers to
make changes in the workplace. One of the key issues that workers were fighting for was wages.
During the 1870s to 1920s, employers often lowered the workers wages. For example, when the
legislature of Massachusetts enacted a fifty four hour working limit per week, employers decided to
lower the wages. During the first national labor walkout, laborers protested against employers
decreasing their wages; this event became known as the Great Railroad Strike of 1877. An example of
a successful strike was in New Orleans of 1907, 10,000 dockworkers were able to stop employers
from reducing their wages. In 1912, the Industrial Workers of the World and other workers went on

It is a glycoalkaloid. It is a poison. It is present in the nightshade family i.e Solanaceae especially in
species tomato and potato. Solanine is found naturally in many parts of plants e.g tubers, leaves and
fruits. It also has pesticidal and fungicidal characteristics. It also act as a natural defence system of
plant. Firstly it was extracted in 1820 from a berry i.e Solanum nigram.
Solanine poisoning and it s symptoms primary symptoms of solanine poisoning are neurological and
gastrointestinal disorders.
Other symptoms may be vomiting, burning of throat, nausea, cardiac dysrythmia, diarrhea, nightmare,
dizziness, stomach cramps and a common symptom headache.
Hypothermia, fever, dilated pupils, hallucination, paralysis and losss of sensation occur in very severe
cases and somtimes death can also accur.
Way of action
A result of a study show that the mechanism of solanine toxicity is mainly due to it s chemical
interaction with the membranes of mitochondria. It is shown by experiments that when solanine is
exposed, it result in opening of pottassium channels of mitochondrial membrane, in it s result the
membrane potential is decreased and then Ca 2+ are transported from mitochondria to the cytoplasm
due to which concentration of Ca 2+ is increased in the cytoplasm which result in the apoptosis i.e cell
death and cell damage.
Solanine in potatoes solanine is found naturally in the speacies of genus Solanum e.g egg plant,
tomato and potato

The Effects Of Space Debris
Since the early years of the space age in 1957, scientists have immensely contributed to our
understanding of the Solar System and beyond by conducting numerous space missions. However,
with Earth s atmosphere encircled by debris from defunct space crafts, the future of the space
exploration may be at great risk. Space debris, or space junk is the waste byproduct of non functioning
spacecraft and spacecraft fragments in Earth s orbit (NASA 2017). This paper examines the origin of
space debris, how debris threatens the future of spaceflight, and possible measures to mitigate the
effects of space debris.
Debris origin
A Mission related debris. Space scientists sometimes overlook the amount of debris ejected into space
during the satellite launch process. In fact, satellite launches are responsible for approximately 12
percent of the current space debris in Earth s orbit (International Academy of Astronautics 2005).
During the launch process, satellites eject debris of varying sizes into space. Some of the debris stays
in space much longer than others. For example, the upper stage of the satellite s launch vehicle has
pyrotechnic fasteners, usually explosive bolts or nuts, that separate violently during the launch of the
satellite. This type of debris, which can vary widely in size, may roam around the Lower Earth Orbit
(LEO) an orbit around Earth with an altitude of 2,000 kilometers or less for nearly two weeks before
they return to Earth s atmosphere (Dunn 2008).

Bible Myths
The rich heritage of the Bible is passed down through the generations of Christians in the New
Testament as it was the Israelites in the Old Testament. These teachings are looked upon by outsiders
as simple biblical stories of old and not necessarily real life history. This leaves many with a mindset
that the Bible teachings are myths more so than even possible truths. Opening the generations of today

successful in achieving access into heaven, the afterworld of life on earth, or the favor of God and not

It is a better place to be in when the judgement comes, that it be transformed into a blessing; such as
Nineveh experienced. The nation repented together as one, even the king, and the Lord saw fit to

Landes Old Regime
Landes proposes that the collapse of the patriarchal Old Regime allowed for a more prevalent
gendering of the public sphere. Offering a revision of Habermas thesis, Landes argues that the
bourgeois public sphere is inherently masculinist, a characteristic that determines both its self
representation and its subsequent structural transformation (7). By focusing on the bourgeois public
sphere between 1750 and 1850 in France, she attempts to provide a feminist perspective on the birth
of the modern public sphere. She examines the social and political dynamics of the Old Regime,
including women s social power in 18th century salons in addition to Rousseau s dislike of public
women. Landes also considers the fate of women and feminism

The Pros And Cons Of Mothers Against Drunk Driving
On February 3, 2017, Tim Piazza, a sophomore here at Penn State, tragically lost his life at the Beta
Theta Pi fraternity house. This horrific event was a result of irresponsible consumption of alcohol and
binge drinking. Sadly, this is not an isolated incident. Around the nation, countless young adults have
lost their life due to the thoughtless consumption of alcohol. Unfortunately, the common census
between the majority of the average day Americans is that the most effective way to make drinking
safer for young adults is enforcing a minimum drinking age of twenty one. This law, as well as the
common census, are a direct result from the efforts of Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) more
than thirty years ago ( Drinking Culture ). MADD s objective and goal is quite understandable; they
want the young adults of today s world to be safe and not put themselves into dangerous situations
with alcohol, but they doing more harm than good. ( The Problem ). Safety is the single objective from
each side in this argument, but MADD s flawed logic and ignorance to reality has formed a belief that
results in an unsafe drinking culture, resulting in more deaths, such as the tragic passing of Tim
Piazza, unless the drinking age is lowered to eighteen, as well as establishing an open dialogue about
drinking itself. Mothers Against Drunk Driving aims to create the safest possible environment for a
young adults to develop, but their argument contains a sense of ignorance to the reality

Milk Biscuits, Breakfast Biscuits And Dependent Variable...
The children s inclination for the appearance or taste of four different brands of chocolate biscuits,
breakfast biscuits, and breadsticks is what needs to be investigated. The accomplishment would be to
determine the visual and taste fondness of three gluten free commercial products. This study would
help nurses during patient teachings to make recommendations of gluten free products and it would
help nurses in the appearance of foods being served to patients. Kildegaard et al. have presented that
the way the food looks will define if the child will eat it or not. Cooke Wardle found that girls select
healthier foods than boys at all ages. Thirty children ,22 females and 8 males, age range 6 12 years,
with diagnosis of celiac disease from more than 2 years were selected to do this study. The
independent variables are the four different brands of three gluten free products, and the dependent
variable is the high preference of appearance test. The children used the 5 point hedonic facial scale to
evaluate the different foods. The visual tests always showed higher scores in the 5 point scale than the
taste liking rating. The taste test showed that children s anticipations were lower than expected. It is
important to make the food given to patients have a nice appearance so they can at least try the food
and not reject it without tasting it first. A limitation is that the children must ve been diagnosed within
two years with celiac disease. Manufacturing companies

The Importance Of Criminal Punishment
Criminal punishments have been a fragment of society for centuries, either to discipline individuals or
overpower political opposition. Different eras over time established numerous forms of punishments
for crimes. There is no morality or exceptional guarantee that punishment is a substantial process of
humane penalty besides political officials that believe that it is feasible. In my opinion, punishment is
not a proper method of crime control, however, some sanctions should be attainable in current day
living. Courtroom officials portray punishments as desirable methods of crime control to distort
community citizens perception, so they may trust that crimes are decreasing. Criminal punishments
are solely based on rehabilitation, criminal analysis, and deterrence. Numerous theories of punishment
have become inhumane because sometimes individuals have been incarcerated for years for crimes
that weren t even harsh.
Deterrence is designed to prevent reoccurring crime. Criminal justice is the study of nature, causes,
control, and prevention of criminal behavior, with the extent of individual and social factors. For
example, if a criminal has been burglarizing homes and only spends a short amount of time in jail,
then the judge requires for a higher sentence and now the criminal must think if they re freedom is
worth materialistic things. In 1910, Edmond Locard began his own crime laboratory and could obtain

Cognitive Load Theory Paper

also found it interesting to learn about the various loads in the cognitive load theory. While I think I
understood the basic idea of not overwhelming the user, I never knew the theories behind the process.

Within the medical community you never want to hear about a doctor or nurse that received just in

people realize. For instance, before I deployed to Iraq back in 2009, the U.S. Navy sent me to L.A.
County hospital for three weeks to obtain more trauma experience. Then when the week weeks were
over I was sent to Camp Lejeune in North Carolina to receive just in time tactical training. While at
Camp Lejeune we did not focus on anything medical. Instead, we focused on how to shot pistols, how
to egress from a rolled over High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV, pronounced

In a lifetime one will face many battles and deal with guilt as said nearly all men can stand adversity,
but if you want to test a man s character give him power (Abraham Lincoln). Guilt from deceiving
others or other immoral acts will result in one constantly searching for redemption. Khalid Hosseni s

Secondly, the bond a child forms with their parents will affect their actions. Lastly, the persistence of

What Can Government Do to Mitigate the Chinese Style of Picking up Children?
There are streams of people and cars busily coming and going everyday to pick up children in front of
the school entrance of Bei Heng Primary School, Xin Cheng District, Hohhot, causing an annoying
traffic jam.
经统计,北垣小学共有3000多名师生,每天上下学接送孩子的车辆有
1500多辆, 而校园周边的停车位不足200个。(11月26日《北方新报》)
(my translation, According to figures, there are 3000 teachers and students in the aggregate in Bei

Nov. 26th, 2014.) (Mao Kaiyun)
In striking contrast, hardly any parent would pick up children in Japan where the urban morphology,
traffic condition, population and so on are the very image of China. Instead, Japanese children go to
school and return home on foot in a well ordered way. They go to the nearest school with walking time
from 15 minutes to 20 minutes. Besides, students would form a small group spontaneously to
accompany each other. (Pei Jun) As reported by the Global Times, the 24th edition. There is no doubt
that Japan has done a great job since they take some effective measures already.

A Specific Area Of Consumer Behaviour, Personality And The...
A common method marketers use to attract consumers to their products is based around theories in
psychology and consumer behaviour. This essay will be focusing on a specific area of consumer
behaviour; personality and the self, and how marketers have used an understanding of this to develop
brands that purposely appeal to certain consumer groups. Real company examples will be used to
explore the different ways in which this understanding has been applied and to consequently establish
what this means for organisations and consumers alike.
The self concept is an important consideration for marketers due to the necessity of gaining the
attention and loyalty of consumers. There are a number of ways in which the self concept can be
applied, one of which is to position the brand as aspirational, appealing to peoples ideal self . In this
instance consumers are likely to buy a product or invest in the brand as they feel they inherit aspects
of the product that match how they want to be (their ideal.) A good example of how this is used can be
found in the cosmetic industry, where companies advertise their products to make you look and feel
beautiful, therefore by using them you will achieve this feeling (Malär, 2011, p35.) However there is a
risk to companies that the ideal self being portrayed is far beyond the consumers self image,
consequently creating incongruence between the consumer and the brand. This is not the desired effect
of marketers, as there is extensive research

age of 18 to 25 who just will not grow up. Grossman goes on to argue in various ways to appeal to the
readers emotional, ethical, and logical senses throughout his story. Grossman concentrates his story
with what seems to be real life examples, people in today s society considered twixters, which embody
every ounce of this new identity. They do not own their own house, they have had many jobs, they are
not married nor do they have kids, and some even live at home. He then goes on to argue why this
new subculture came to be and what this new subculture entails, filling each with personal examples
from real life people and every now and then comparing them to the past as to show how bad things
are. However, there are a few instances in Grossman s piece that he fails to hit the mark, and some
instances where he blatantly ignores an aspect of it just to prove his point, which is understandable but

Establishing Special Economic Zones
Inspired by the success of the Silicon Valley, numerous states began to establish special economic
zones, or scientific parks in pursue of economic growth in a region and diversification of the
innovation potential. Considered to be a tool for attraction the small companies with high innovative
orientation, such parks have become an international phenomenon. The variety of patterns of existing
parks can be explained by the difference in social economic formation of specific countries, their
history, cultural legacy and mentality. Having come through difficult economic reforms of 80s 90s,
Russia found itself in a situation of strong crude materials dependence and relative inability to
compete successfully on the international and domestic markets. Recent trend in IT and innovation
technologies suggested the need for the country to catch up with those who in the lead. Skolkovo is an
example of how Russian officials adopt best foreign practices for domestic market in order to
eliminate the problem of long term lagging. However, Skolkovo, despite being protected by the
government, is deemed to have a lot of problem inherited from Russian mentality and business ethics.
The need for finding the solution of long standing problems justifies the purpose of this paper. Purpose
of the paper is to investigate nature of science parks, in particular Skolkovo Project. We hypothesize
that the model of Skolkovo s development can be successful in the current Russian economic
environment.

Firstly, the long term addition of Jeff Petry, who looked like a top pairing defenseman in last playoffs,
will certainly bring an element of stability to this Montreal defense. Petry has signed a 6 year deal
with the Canadiens and at the age of 27, this deal takes him through his prime years.
Secondly, the addition of Petry also allows Markov and Subban to play a bit less hockey in a lenghty
season, which will allow the two most relied on defensemen to have a bit more energy throughout the
season and into the playoffs.
Finally, the Montreal defense is improved in the sense that it is as deep as it ever has been. General
manager Marc Bergevin has definitely put emphasis on defensemen this off season. The signings of
Joel Hanley, Ryan Johnston, Mark Barberio and the drafting of Noah Juulsen and Simon Bourque

to the differences between the two. The similarities include the character development of Juror 7 (Jack

the Cretaceous Period. Only recently, however, have we learned that most of these dinosaurs existed
on a lost continent today referred to as Laramidia . (Switek, 2010)
Two new species of horned dinosaurs have been found in the Grand Staircase Escalante National
Monument in Southern Utah. The bigger of the two new dinosaurs, Utahceratops gettyi, had a skull
2.3 meter (around 7 feet) long. The first part of the name combines the origin of the find and ceratops,
Greek for horned face . The second part of the name honors Mike Getty, the paleontology

Negotiation Through Paradox, De Carlo
Introduction
In Teaching Negotiation through Paradox, de Carlo, defines a paradoxical professorial stance, believed
to be useful in assisting students learn negotiation concepts and methods. De Carlo defines the
paradoxes as the following: 1) caring for the students while deliberately exposing them to frustration;
2) nurturing a lively, interactive course while respecting those students who prefer to remain silent; 3)
helping the students to be more autonomous while simultaneously manipulating them; 4) accepting
their vulnerability while nurturing their creativity; 5) maintaining both professional distance and
closeness (351).
Summary
De Carlo describes two types of negotiation learning. Negotiation skills can be learned and applied in

The goal of the students is to make recommendations about the highway. The project requires complex
decision making from the students. The simulation has four stages: in the first three stages, students
explore the information provided to them on a CD ROM. The CD ROM contains a simulation of a
deliberation over the highway project. Students are to discuss and debrief and record their
experiences. In the final stage, students need to organize a press conference. De Carlo believes these
simulations help students identify their emotions and the emotions of others, and use them as a
foundation to understanding negotiation.
In teaching through a paradox, de Carlo explains that we must rethink of the classroom as a
transitional space described as a place of creation and analysis. This space is intended to develop
coping skills in students who find negotiating frustrated. The professor serves as a mentor to facilitate
learning new ideas and skills with the aim of helping [students] be more effective in negotiation and
creative in life (355). However, de Carlo notes that authority should be present in classroom dynamics
while teaching through paradox. According to de Carlo, authority cannot be negotiated, but needs to
be present to create an environment that is both nurturing and frustrating. This will allow the professor
and the students to acknowledge recognition and respect, but also identify emotional cues needed

Disarming Anger Research Paper
As a professional, it can be very challenging when dealing with an individual who enters your office
with a ball of rage brewing inside of them. From the text, I have realized that the expression of anger
is only a clue that there are some underlying issues that we need to explore and resolve. I ask myself,
How will I be able to address and disarm their anger successfully? First, we need to explore the cause
and effect of the anger and whether or not the anger is the result of something that the agency has
done. While doing so, we need to remember to not take it personally. A friend, who is a licensed social
worker once told me, that their crisis is not your crisis. I never thought too much about it then, but
after taking this class I realize what she meant. DO NOT OWN A PROBLEM THAT IS NOT YOURS

Keeping in mind that, when we are angry, we cannot see straight and/or even think straight is when I
need to step back and allow the client to calm down, gather their thoughts, and express the true
underlying issue. We have all been in a situation where we have had anger to the point that our own
thinking process is compromised and taking a moment to actually think about what is causing your
frustration, might be the best way to defuse the anger. I know for myself, I have learnt to process the
situation before addressing it and often after thinking about it I realize it wasn t such a BIG deal after

Howard Gardner s Theory Of Multiple Intelligences In The...
Originally when Howard Gardner, a psychologist and professor at Harvard University, developed the
multiple intelligence theory in 1983 he had no intention of it being used in the classroom setting
(Gardner, 2011). However, this did not stop educators based all over the world from using the theory
to help students take control of their learning and better understand their minds. Gardner even came to
almost fully accept and support educator s use of his theory. Gardner stated that Only once did I
openly condemn an application of the theory. In the early 1990s, I learned from a colleague about an
MI inspired educational approach in Australia. No doubt well motivated, this approach went way too
far and violated both scientific and ethical boundaries (Gardner 2011). This theory is based on the idea
that a person is not limited to one area of intelligence outright. The definition of intelligence is as
follows, Ability or abilities to acquire and use knowledge for solving problems and adapting to the
world (Woolfolk, 2004, 107). Intelligence is something that is often measured by tests, such as the IQ
test or standardized tests. Multiple intelligences are not something that are tested for. They are
experienced, witnessed in real life situations. A person cannot, and should not be defined by a single
aspect, such as their intelligence; this is where the idea of multiple intelligences comes in. With the
theory of multiple intelligences, people can possess different levels of

Analysis of Acquainted with the Night and Stopping by the...
Research Paper first draft
16th Nov 2011
In a Dark Night, I Find My Answers. The two poems Stopping By Woods on a Snowy Evening and
Acquainted with the Night written by Robert Frost are very similar to each other because of the
simplistic form of language used and the uses of metaphors. When we first read the poem, it looks like
an ordinary poem but once we go in depth and understand the meaning, it becomes so much more.
Both of the poem has a very dark, gloomy and lonely setting with a really mysterious tone. There are
different metaphors used in each poem to symbolize death; Sleep in Stopping By Woods on a Snowy
Evening and Night in Acquainted with the Night. The characters in the two poem are both in a journey
and has come ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I have walked out in rain and back in rain. from Acquainted with the Night shows the depression of
the character because most of us relate to rain as an emotional moment and makes us feel vulnerable.
When it rains, the whole atmosphere becomes very gloomy and sad, and the author is trying to express
the characters sadness.
The character in Stopping by Woods in a Snowy Evening is a very old fashioned person because he is
with a horse and rides his horse through the woods. My little horse must think it queer. To stop
without a farmhouse near Between the woods and frozen lake shows how even his horse is surprised
to be stopping in the middle of the woods where there is no livelihood. It is very unusual even for the
horse to stop at this hour of the night because they should be trying to get home as soon as possible
since it is already dark. He gives his harness bells a shake. To ask if there is some mistake. express
how the horse is also very attentive about what is going on around him and his master s unusual
behavior. The horse tries to confirm with the character whether or not they have stopped in the right
place.
I have stood still and stopped the sound of feet. When far away an interrupted cry. Came over houses
from another street. But not to call me back or say good bye, from Acquainted With the Night shows
that the character is looking for a sign for him to look back but it was not

Guitar Recital Essay
Guitar Recital This project was interesting to me because I really don t take the time to listen to
different types of music like classical guitar. This was my first time listening to this type of music and
it was pretty good. It showed me that there are more than a few types of music out there. The CD I
chose was the 2013 Guitar Recital by Philip Hemmo. The tracks that where on it are Ciaconna,
Introduction et Polonaise, Adagio, Caprice, Danza Mora, Julia Florida and Sevillana. My favorite song
was Adagio which homage to J. S. Bach. It was calm and was played a perfect speed. It slowed down
and sped up through the whole song. Also the volume of the guitar was quit and loud threw the
different parts of the song. It is also a very long song

Essay Woodrow Wilson and The Treaty of Versailles Woodrow Wilson and The Treaty of Versailles Woodrow Wilson, Premier Clemenceau, Prime Minister Lloyd George and Premier Orlando started the Versailles Treaty committee. Wilson worked to win the Senates consent of the Treaty of Versailles when he returned to America in July of 1919. Basically the treaty forced on Germany the burden of reparations, and to take complete blame for the war. Woodrow Wilson felt that the treaty was too harsh, placing unrealistic goals on Germany. Wilson wanted to add his Fourteen Points, which was a less harsh approach to punish Germany. Unfortunately not all the points were added to the Treaty of Versailles, but some points were introduced into the treaty. The Treaty that President Wilson agreed on did ... If that attempt fails, the nations were to observe a waiting period before going to war. This Article took away Senates constitutional power to declare war. When attempted, the general public describes it as an area in, which Earth exists and is made up of solar systems consisting of a sun and planets. But nowadays, space has turned into so much more; with recent discoveries space can be seen as a living system in which there is a possibility that other life besides humanity is present. In the past space travel was said to only be able to send drones or robots past the moon, but with recent advances the transport of humans is closely becoming a fact. These advances in science are driven by the recent discoveries like the fact that life was once present on Mars. However some among humanity ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One of the arguments comes from conservative people of various faiths. Their argument follows the belief that God only created one planet of life, causing any scientific theories related to life outside of Earth to be rejected, since it would disprove the belief that God created Earth. Another argument is that the money used to fund NASA s space exploration could be used in a better way. According to Piers Bizony, I have for some time considered space research a gross waste of money, time and effort that could be much better applied to the management of our own planet. (9) This argument is understandable however the fact that global warming, and rainforests depleting is occurring provides more of an incentive in finding another planet with life. It would allow for a rebirth and have the world start over, since both of the effects are a caused by humanity s daily lives. A third argument is that the Earth has not even been fully discovered yet so it makes no sense to explore outside of it. According to Gary Westfahl In short, the history of our species powerfully suggests that progress will come from continued stable life on Earth, and that a vast new program of travel into space will lead to a new period of human stagnation. • 6. Development Of Symphonies And Their Composers Development of Symphonies and Their Composers Early eighteenth century the term symphony was applied to the instrumental preludes and postludes of vocal pieces such as arias and songs. By derivation the word means simply a music ensemble . Today, we apply the term to a much larger composition such as an orchestra (typically in three or four movements). The symphony can also be defined as a sonata for orchestra. Symphonies of the earlier era, the classical era, were mostly simpler, and followed a smaller scale. Later, during the romantic era, the symphony had grown in number and length of the movements, the instruments used to increase not only in quantity but in quality. There was also a wider dynamic range due to the variety in instruments played. Of the seventeenth century, the term symphony originated from the word Sinfonia , which was used for introductory movements for operas, oratorios and cantatas. Today, the symphony is generally regarded as the highest type of instrumental music. Beginning in the eighteenth century, the first symphonies were intensely developed. Music had three parts: fast, slow, fast, and eventually became dance like fast. This form became popular in Italy, but then spread to Germany and England. That s why most music terms are written in Italian. The first movement of the Sinfonia received little to no attention, it merely served as a cover to the entrance of the people arriving late. • 8. John Was Preaching Against Rome John was preaching against Rome in Revelation In the late first century a follower of Jesus of Nazareth, John of Patmos, received a vision of the end the world. John later wrote this vision down and his writing has come down to modernity as The Book of Revelation also known as The Apocalypse of John. When John wrote Revelation was he using it as a coded message to preach against Rome? In this vision, John saw many images that could be read as Rome or Roman if viewed from a historical context. Subsequent generations have interpreted the imagery within their own historical context. With this paper I will argue that Revelation pertains to the Roman world and culture that John and his followers were living in, the events in Judea that are thought to have occurred within his life time and that John used some of the same imagery to connect his writing to the Hebrew Bible. There are two main competing dates for the writing of Revelation, an early date of 69 70 and a later date of 90 92. This paper will be using the 69 70 date and will be providing evidence to prove why this date works better for the context of this paper. Femininity In Frankenstein Essay Through the lack of female characters, and the dominance of goal oriented males, Shelley demonstrates through Frankenstein that femininity, as defined by Michelle Miller, is both not a necessity, as well as a crucial component in society. The women in Frankenstein have a lot of femininity, as they are caring and compassionate and fit Miller s definition, but due to their minor presence and use in the storyline, Shelley illustrates that she doesn t believe that the world needs more femininity. When reading Frankenstein, one cannot help but notice that the female characters have little substance compared to the male characters. Because they are used for nothing more than their looks and seen very little in the plot, Shelley clearly demonstrates her belief that femininity isn t needed to create a balanced society. On the other hand, Mary Shelley also highly supports the need for increased femininity in the world, shown through the inclusion of Henry, the female monster, and even through the absence of female characters. Miller described femininity as a personality trait, not just a characteristic confined to females or males. Henry personifies femininity and supports Miller s explanation that femininity is not just for women. Henry, deeply read books of chivalry and romance. He composed heroic songs...and was so full of kindness and tenderness (39/40). He is focused on experiences, like travelling through Europe and learning Oriental languages, while Victor is focused on chasing his creature. Although Henry comes to a tragic end, his life is much happier than Victor s because he did not confine his life to fixating exclusively on results. Shelley also confirms that the world demands increased femininity by adding the possibility of a female creature. Victor creating her mirrors injecting greater femininity into the world. • 11. The First Meditation By Rene Descartes Topic: How does Descartes argue that mind and body are distinct? Is he right? Am I real, or imaginary? In the First Meditation, Rene Descartes presents the main falsehoods in which he believed during his life, and the subsequent faultiness he experienced concerning the body of knowledge. The philosopher considers that it is never too late to rethink the knowledge about his personal being from the very foundations, and builds his thoughts on a certain ground starting from common things. It would be impossible to doubt each thing separately, so he expresses his doubt to the basic principles of knowledge he has already gained, since a conclusion would surely be doubted if its premise was doubted. He starts by doubting basic senses, by comparing feels in reality vs. in dreams. For example, even if I consciously feel warm when I am walking in the sun, I could not claim that I am hundred ‐ percentage sure I am awake, since I would feel it the same way when I was in dreams. Descartes presents this idea to show the doubt of reality and its elements. Also, he concludes that the common things we perceive are fashioned, and knowledge based on that can be doubted, such as physics and astronomy. This category of knowledge are different from geometry and arithmetic, which contain certain and definiteness in the simplest thing. By doubting the sense and knowledge based on it, Descartes argued his approach that the body and mind are two absolutely distinctive things. Descartes mentions God ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Suddenly when it s time to move out and live on their own it becomes overwhelming. Most teenagers think they are ready to take on the responsibility of living independently but when reality sets in, they realize that providing for themselves is surprisingly more difficult than living with their family. Living alone and living with family has its own advantages and disadvantages which include the amount of responsibilities, freedom and financial stability an individual has. When living with your parents, everything is prepared for you. The responsibilities a teenager is given are based on the parents trying to prepare them for early adulthood. This means sharing responsibilities that contribute to the house such as chores. For example, today you have to do the dishes, the next day you have to clean the living room and the bathroom. A disadvantage of living with your parents would be the amount of freedom you are given. For example, you have a set curfew time to be home by, and the consequences of arriving late past the curfew time would be a punishment like getting grounded, no internet for two days, or getting your favorite play system taken away. At the workplace, conflict is very natural. Take for instance the problem that the Record Democrat has almost every week, a slow news week. Granted, this newspaper in only printed once a week, but in a small town sometimes nothing really happens. With this problem, several other conflicts arise. One of the bigger conflicts created is the amount of blank space left once the paper is laid out. This is then dealt with by what the workers call, fillers. Fillers are ads that promote the R D, and make people want to buy a subscription. Another large thought of Marx, is the using of power by groups and individuals to promote their interest. Marxist could look at these fillers as a way that power is exerted onto the public. People have to buy subscriptions in order for the R D to stay in business and keep producing the newspaper. The power comes from being the only newspaper company around. If the R D goes out of business, there will be no more local news. A place where conflict never seems to happen, but occurs all the time, is at the local church. How could a place of such harmony and grace have large amounts of conflict? One example that has recently arose was when St. Peter got a new pastor. She was a very nice middle aged women who had a different way of teaching from the bible. Pastor J (this was what she went by) taught in a way that connected things to the modern world and spoke of the biblical teachings in a modern tongue. The children s inclination for the appearance or taste of four different brands of chocolate biscuits, breakfast biscuits, and breadsticks is what needs to be investigated. The accomplishment would be to determine the visual and taste fondness of three gluten free commercial products. This study would help nurses during patient teachings to make recommendations of gluten free products and it would help nurses in the appearance of foods being served to patients. Kildegaard et al. have presented that the way the food looks will define if the child will eat it or not. Cooke Wardle found that girls select healthier foods than boys at all ages. Thirty children ,22 females and 8 males, age range 6 12 years, with diagnosis of celiac disease from more than 2 years were selected to do this study. The independent variables are the four different brands of three gluten free products, and the dependent variable is the high preference of appearance test. The children used the 5 point hedonic facial scale to evaluate the different foods. The visual tests always showed higher scores in the 5 point scale than the taste liking rating. The taste test showed that children s anticipations were lower than expected. It is important to make the food given to patients have a nice appearance so they can at least try the food and not reject it without tasting it first. A limitation is that the children must ve been diagnosed within two years with celiac disease. Manufacturing companies ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 26. The Importance Of Criminal Punishment Criminal punishments have been a fragment of society for centuries, either to discipline individuals or overpower political opposition. Different eras over time established numerous forms of punishments for crimes. There is no morality or exceptional guarantee that punishment is a substantial process of humane penalty besides political officials that believe that it is feasible. In my opinion, punishment is not a proper method of crime control, however, some sanctions should be attainable in current day living. Courtroom officials portray punishments as desirable methods of crime control to distort community citizens perception, so they may trust that crimes are decreasing. Criminal punishments are solely based on rehabilitation, criminal analysis, and deterrence. Numerous theories of punishment have become inhumane because sometimes individuals have been incarcerated for years for crimes that weren t even harsh. Deterrence is designed to prevent reoccurring crime. Criminal justice is the study of nature, causes, control, and prevention of criminal behavior, with the extent of individual and social factors. For example, if a criminal has been burglarizing homes and only spends a short amount of time in jail, then the judge requires for a higher sentence and now the criminal must think if they re freedom is worth materialistic things. • 30. A Specific Area Of Consumer Behaviour, Personality And The... A common method marketers use to attract consumers to their products is based around theories in psychology and consumer behaviour. This essay will be focusing on a specific area of consumer behaviour; personality and the self, and how marketers have used an understanding of this to develop brands that purposely appeal to certain consumer groups. Real company examples will be used to explore the different ways in which this understanding has been applied and to consequently establish what this means for organisations and consumers alike. The self concept is an important consideration for marketers due to the necessity of gaining the attention and loyalty of consumers. There are a number of ways in which the self concept can be applied, one of which is to position the brand as aspirational, appealing to peoples ideal self . In this instance consumers are likely to buy a product or invest in the brand as they feel they inherit aspects of the product that match how they want to be (their ideal.) A good example of how this is used can be found in the cosmetic industry, where companies advertise their products to make you look and feel beautiful, therefore by using them you will achieve this feeling (Malär, 2011, p35.) However there is a risk to companies that the ideal self being portrayed is far beyond the consumers self image, consequently creating incongruence between the consumer and the brand. • 46. Analysis of Acquainted with the Night and Stopping by the... Research Paper first draft 16th Nov 2011 In a Dark Night, I Find My Answers. The two poems Stopping By Woods on a Snowy Evening and Acquainted with the Night written by Robert Frost are very similar to each other because of the simplistic form of language used and the uses of metaphors. To ask if there is some mistake. express how the horse is also very attentive about what is going on around him and his master s unusual behavior. The horse tries to confirm with the character whether or not they have stopped in the right place. I have stood still and stopped the sound of feet. When far away an interrupted cry. Came over houses from another street. But not to call me back or say good bye, from Acquainted With the Night shows that the character is looking for a sign for him to look back but it was not ... • 47. Guitar Recital Essay Guitar Recital This project was interesting to me because I really don t take the time to listen to different types of music like classical guitar. This was my first time listening to this type of music and it was pretty good. It showed me that there are more than a few types of music out there. The CD I chose was the 2013 Guitar Recital by Philip Hemmo. The tracks that where on it are Ciaconna, Introduction et Polonaise, Adagio, Caprice, Danza Mora, Julia Florida and Sevillana. My favorite song was Adagio which homage to J. S. Bach. It was calm and was played a perfect speed. It slowed down and sped up through the whole song. Also the volume of the guitar was quit and loud threw the different parts of the song. It is also a very long song ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
