How To Write A Military Application Essay
When I was younger, I knew I could become anything I wanted to as long as I set my mind to it. With
inspiration at my fingertips and always believing in myself, that s what pushed me forward to always
succeed with whatever I do and to never give up. Like the time everyone around me with the
exceptional people said I could never make it in the military, that I was too weak. Even people who I
trusted most said that. So i joined. I stepped into that recruiter office with my long just dyed red hair,
shorts and sandals. They all looked at me with astonishment as if I had stepped into the wrong
building. After signing up I was sent to Fort Jackson, SC in the following months. When I got there I
saw, heard, and did so many things that shaped me to the person I am today. It made me realize how
strong I really am, and how anyone can achieve their goals.
When I got to basic training I saw things that you only see in those old military movies, everyone was
either scared or ready for the training that we would soon receive. Me , however I was one of the
ready ones that took it day by day and swore to never give up. I ... Show more content on

carefully and to also listen to any orders they gave. I remember a certain point in my training where I
had to face my fear of heights and propel myself off a 40 foot wall, they walked me through it and I
pushed myself through to do it and didn t give up. It was satisfying to overcome my fear furthermore i

Hot Air Balloon In A Wall Of Fire Rising
A massive, air filled balloon wandering mindlessly in the sky thousands of feet high is likely what
comes to mind when you think of a hot air balloon, but this is not the case in the story A Wall of Fire
Rising. In this story, the hot air balloon mentioned has such a deeper meaning to Guy. Characteristics
of a hot air balloon include being filled with air, but hollow, free flying, and non stationary. These four
characteristics define the symbol in a whole other light; they describe hopefulness, trapped, destined,
unattainable freedom and escape. As the story evolves Guy s perspective and the meanings on the
symbol changes as well.
A hot air balloon can be classified as filled with air, hollow, free flying, and non stationary. The hot air

As hopeful as Guy was, is anything he was trying to accomplish even in his reach? All the things he
wants to do for him and his family seem so farfetched; it s questionable where this hope even comes
from. When the Haiti got their freedom from the French, Guy mistakenly took this notion as a
beginning to freedom. He was stuck in a predestined future; he was poor and without a job. He was
hopeful to have his name on the job list because this meant an opportunity. As time went by, he
realized the hope was back up nothing. He was so far buried down on the job list that it was nearly
impossible to ever get out of the situation he was stuck in. Throughout the whole story he was the
most hopeful person, and it was easily seen by his determination and effort. He has high hope for a
job, freedom, escape and an opportunity even for his family. As the story developed, he became weary.
He sees all the unachieved hopes he had was pointless. He became hopeless and trapped inside his
destined fate. He was stuck inside a life that didn t give him opportunities, second chances, promises,
freedom or escape. He lived the life in the same shoes his father did. Ultimately every factor he tries to
accomplish backfires and he s trapped back at square one. He hoped for a better life apart of the life he
saw growing up with his father. This, as a matter of fact, changed nothing for Guy; he was buried

Mexican Drugs
Mexico: Drugs or Democracy
Introduction
Illicit drug trade between Mexico and the United States, estimated between $17 billion and $38 billion
a year in 2009 by the Drug Intelligence Center, has a long and storied past. Cartels operated with
relative impunity from government prosecution during the seventy year reign of the Institutional
Revolutionary Party, (PRI). The movement from an authoritarian government system of the PRI to the
liberal democracy initiated by the election victory of the National Action Party, (PAN), candidate,
Vicente Fox, in 2000, disrupted the status quo. Election gains by PAN Representatives disrupted long
standing agreements between the cartels and government officials which led to the increased violence
that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The DFS was supposed to fight drugs but one of the founders, Senator Colonel Carlos Serrano, was
tied to the drug cartels. His appointment provided a direct link between the ruling political party and
the drug cartels ensuring a flow of profits to government officials in exchange for protection and also
mitigated the need for drug traffickers to participate in politics. This collaborative arrangement
produced several decades of minimal drug related violence which was directed at opposing groups and
did not affect the general population.
Social changes in the United States during the 1960s and 1970 accompanied increased consumption of
marijuana and later cocaine use became more widespread in the 19080s. The proliferation of drug use
in American society prompted a change in the political view on drugs and the United States
government declared war on drugs. The U.S. government focused on the drug producing and
trafficking nations and pressured those nations into joining the war . Mexico was pressured into
heightening its efforts to combat drugs which included military operations to destroy drug trade and
growing fields. These efforts focused on migrant workers forced into labor by the drug lords, barely
disrupting the cartel s operations.
The link between the DFS and the Mexican political structure came to an end with the assassination of
U.S. DEA agent, Enrique Camarena, in 1985 and the subsequent pressure on the Mexican government.

To His Coy Mistress Analysis
Andrew Marvell s To His Coy Mistress, written in the year 1681, gives readers the implication that he
was a man with progressive ideas about sex that lack concern for the common ideals and moral
standards of his lifetime. Marvell s ideas and phrases in this poem have an honest and realistic basis.
He does not sugarcoat what he is trying to say, yet he is able to poetically and coercively make his
point known to his potential mate. Opposing styles of appeal in parts one and two blossoms into an
eloquently convincing conclusion which will force his potential lover into an urgent battle between
her id and her superego. This analysis breaks the poem into thirds, the first of which (part one), the
speaker progresses slowly, as romance often does. Appealling to her romantic feminine interests, he
tries to woo the object of his affection with beautiful words and phrases. Marvel s appeal to a woman s
innate desire for romance ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To act like something that you are not is not natural; therefore, it is not truthful. He wants her to rebel
against that untruth. More than likely, throughout life, she learned to perfect this coyness. Now the
speaker is breaking apart the standard she knows is true and good. According to Oxford Dictionary s
online version, quaint can be taken to mean cunningly devised (506). Although other definitions of the
word quaint exist, in this poem, the speaker obviously puts emphasis on the coy aspect of his mistress,
so it makes sense that he would (once again) point this out in part three of his poem. The speaker
implies that her unwillingness to submit to him is a result of her cunningly devised façade, or coy
attitude, not her lack of desire to do so. Though long preserved virginity, And your quaint honour turn

The Philosophy Of Teaching And Teaching
Teaching is among the most intricate, eternal and beautiful professions and as a visionary and cultural
leader I know that education transcends time and place, deriving much from both social, cultural
context and individual style. I am committed to continuously improve my practices with the desire
that my leading example instills in my students and colleagues the passion and enthusiasm for learning
and teaching. I am a dedicated, resourceful educational professional who consistently take part in
training opportunities designed to strength and improve educator s pedagogical skills, monitor policies
and practices that promote a safe learning environment.
As a managerial leader, collaboration and good communication in the school setting is very important
to me because Effective principals are effective managers. They must communicate, develop
relationships, and coordinate efforts of teachers, assistant principals, custodians, secretaries,
counselors, librarians (Alby Robbins, 1998, P. 16). In my district I lead for two years the Language
Acquisition PLC for middle schools and became an active member of the Building Leadership Team,
Standards Reference Grading Building Implementation Team, Educational Equity Committee. State
wide, I am a member of the Collaboration for Kids Oversight Team, World Languages Culture Team,
Iowa State University STEM Equity Team and Outstanding Educators of Iowa Committee. All these

Venus And The Greenhouse Effect
Today in everyday life, the Greenhouse effect has been heating up our planet Earth. But not only has
Earth been effected, Mars, the moon Titan, and most importantly Venus. Because Venus is so closely
related to Earth, scientist have used Venus s problem to predict what could happen to Earth in the
future. Most of Venus s problem come from being so close to the sun, the thickness of its atmosphere,
and its past experience with the Runaway Greenhouse Effect.
The definition of greenhouse effect is, as the planet absorbs the sun s energy, it also releases a
different form of energy called radiation which gets absorbed by the greenhouse gases making the
atmosphere warmer. One of the main Greenhouse gases is Carbon Dioxide, which is very effective at
trapping heat in an atmosphere, and is being added to the atmosphere faster than Venus can naturally
remove it. Carbon Dioxide is trapped in Venus s atmosphere due to the absence of its magnetic field,
making it easier for lighter gases to escape into outer space, and for heavier ones to be trapped like
Carbon Dioxide. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

atmosphere is covered in a thick layer of Sulfuric acid clouds, which are very opaque and gives venus
it yellow coloring which make it difficult to observe the planet. Due to the thickness and composition
of Venus s atmosphere, the planet does not experience a temperature change daily or seasonally. Venus
average temperature stays at about 735 K (462 °C; 863 °F), and even though it s the second planet
closest to the sun Venus is still a hotter temperature than

Advertising and Behavior Control Essay
In the article Advertising and Behavior Control there were many arguments for and against
advertising. The first and the biggest problem Robert L. Arrington has against advertising is puffery.
The reason/reasons why Arrington has a problem with puffery is due to the fact that the seller makes
exaggerated, or suggestive claims about a product. His overall argument on puffery is that it isn t just
bragging but it is bragging that is designed to persuade you to want the item or product being sold.
The bragging goes so far as they convince the viewer (of the advertisement) they need the product.
Puffery ultimately leads to manipulation, exploitation, and control over what people think of the
product. Although Arrington has reasons ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These are just a couple of the arguments for and against advertising, and Arrington continues with
many more thought provoking and legitimate arguments. All in all, Arrington makes claims for and
against advertising, and eventually comes to the conclusion that he does not know what is right. If
advertising is indeed good or bad as he says on page 289 I do not pretend to have the answer. I only
hope that the above discussion, in showing some of the kinds of harm that can be done by advertising
and by indicating the likely limits of this harm, will put us in a better position to grapple with the
question. In my own opinion I don t think that advertising should be controlled anymore than it is
now. My reason for thinking this way is because products are made to be sold and along with that
products are also made

The Australian Government Essay
When you think of the land down under you don t really think of the kind of government they have. I
chose to write about the Australian government because I really don t hear much about Australia. It
currently has a pretty interesting story to tell when it comes to their government. I became a bit
interested in Australian politics when I saw a political animated cartoon on the internet that depicted
Kevin Rudd, the last Prime Minister, on a news television show and it was quite humorous. I am going
to give a quick history lesson on Australia then go into how the government formed and came to be.
Then I will talk about the Australian constitution, the Australian arms of government, their federal
system, political parties and Australia s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Penal colonies are places when some send their inmates to be exiled. It was said that about 160,000
people were brought into Australia. Many Europeans decided to immigrate to Australia and because of
this and after a while the economy and colonies of Australia, under the British rule, started to grow
(Austrailian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade).
Now I shall talk about how the Australian Constitution. It s common knowledge to know that a
constitution is pretty much the law of the land and a foundation of the laws that rule there.
Constitutions are very important for countries to have. Helen Irving explains in The Oxford
Companion of Australian Politics that, Its Preamble records the agreement of the six Australian
colonies to federate in 1901 and to remain together as one indissoluble federal Commonwealth . The
Australian Constitution was written as a bill when the colonies met in 1890. The constitution has a full

It took about 10 years in 1901 that the constitution was finally ratified. They were finally an

Edgar Poe Accomplishments
Edgar Poe was born in 1809 to David and Elizabeth Poe. Two short years later Edgar s mother died
and his father had vanished. Upon the death of his mother, Poe became a foster child, where soon John
and Frances Allan took him into their home and raised him. Gambling debts soon ended Poe s
financial support from the Allan s so he dropped out of University where he had been attending for a
year. Setting off to Boston Poe published the first of many collections of poems and decided to enlist
in the army. Realizing he was worthless he abandoned the army instead, turning to a life of conflict
and debt.
At the age of twenty two Poe published his second collection of poems while living poorly with his

Another look at Poe s outstanding variety and range of tales, represents the many genres he explored
and how important they are today. Murder mysteries is said to be one of his most considerable
accomplishments in literature. Although, they existed before Poe wrote about them his style and
originality prevailed over other writers. Moreover, Poe s fascinating and imaginative writing in
science fiction earned him a lasting impact there as well.
Having composed tales of terror and barbaric behavior treasure mystery became another genre that
can be traced back to Poe. He made people feel like they were actually apart of his stories. The style
and way the words flowed on the page made Poe s stories unforgettable to everyone who read them.
Much of his fame isn t just from the tales he wrote, a heap of his fame comes from the insight he had
into new advancements.
Applying most of his originality and strict style to poetry he showed how a poem like The Raven
could be popular but also, suit many critics taste. Poe s different approaches to literature earned him
the respect from numerous authors. In conclusion, Edgar Allan Poe wanted people to understand the
importance of the writing as well as of the creator. He has a lasting impact in the literature world as an

The Woman Card Was Written By Jill Lepore 27 Essay
The woman card was written by Jill Lepore 27 june 2016, and I have found several of her articles
relevant to my research. Lepore seems to be very educated in politics, and I find her articles to be very
well researched and informative. Her articles seem to be relevant to everyone in general, she wants the
readers to be informed and make educated opinions. Lepore likes to talk about the past and contrast it
to the present. This is a very great way to inform readers of the history and sacrifices women had to go
through to get where we are today. The women s party has only been around 100 years, this year, and
without it, our country would not be where it is today. I thought that Hillary was going to be the first
women president, instead we have the first president who has never held a political office. Clinton
spoke to women when she debated and when she was at rallies. She reached out to women specifically
trying to earn their vote, and with all the protests lately she seemed to have reached a lot of women, as
well as men. Most of the time women are more compassionate, understanding, and motherly, whereas
men are not. It has taken a long time for women to accomplish the things we have, and Lepore talks
about this in several of her articles. This article illuminates my bibliography topic because it lets
people know the history behind women and voting as well as each of the candidates and their
affiliations. This article even talks about the Republican Party that was

Should The United States Give Aid To The Poor
Poverty and Dependency: Aid for the Poor The United States of America gives billions of dollars in
financial aid each year to help support a myriad of different countries to include Afghanistan,
Pakistan, India, and multiple African nations. It is morally and ethically correct to help countries in
times of true emergency, but how much help is considered too much? Are we as a nation hindering our
own growth and future preservation by contributing to this worldwide aid? The answer is very clear
when put into perspective. First of all, giving financial aid to other countries helps them to continue
their current way of life with ease. However, by giving aid in the form of money, medical supplies,
and food hinders hard working people because they have to pay taxes, for a service that does not
benefit them in any way. If aid is constantly given to poor countries, we will eventually find ourselves
in hardship situations, and we will have no one to help us in future times of need. Each and every
country should have its own unassisted emergency fund in case of natural disaster or any other form of
tragedy, and should not be dependent upon the U.S. every time they are in need. If handouts are

How Did Rupert Brooke s View On War
Rupert Brooke s belief and expectation of war contrasted Wilfred Owen s opinion on the war. Rupert
Brooke s poetry encouraged men to sign up for recruitment into the English army. Although Brooke
passed away before he got to serve his country in the war, he firmly believed that dying for one s
country would be romantic, noble and heroic. Brooke s poetry contained unintentionally misleading
beliefs of what dying while serving your country was like. An example of this was from his poem III
The Dead where he writes that Dying has made us (soldiers) rarer gifts than gold , death doesn t make
you more valuable or rarer than gold , dying is dying. The only difference between dying while in
combat and dying peacefully is that in combat, you re

My Favorite Movies
Whenever I was dealing with any stress or problems, I would go to the movie theatre and sit down and
immerse myself in a two hour long film. And all of a sudden all my problems were not an issue. It s
like if the smell of fresh popcorn, sweet candy, and thirst quenching soda was a doctor s

about pleased my ears; this atmosphere of innocence and joy caused me to make this theatre my safe
haven. I always found it fascinating how long it takes for movies to be made, so at the end of every
movie I had an itch that said you can do that too. Then after watching an abundance of movies I
finally scratched what I had felt. It was the beginning itch to become a filmmaker. This was in my 8th
grade year and I initially thought this must be a phase, because my mom said so. At the time I had no
equipment ,no knowledge of how cameras or editing actually work, so maybe my mom was right,
maybe it was all phase. Like I had said going to the movies was almost like a routine. Most of the
movies I watched were made with computer generated imagery, green screens, or a budget so big it
made your jaw drop. However this caused me to think how were movies made twenty or even thirty
years ago. This began the love of watching 80 s movies. E.T. , Breakfast Club, and Back to the Future,

Database Management And Information Structure Essay
A customized website:
As a new business it is essential for us to make an identity in the market and since there already are a
few competitors using clone scripts on their websites, which is a generic web platform. Our focus is to
invest in a customized web ordering platform, which will help us build a unique identity and give us
originality. It will be a good start to kick off with a unique, secure and a feature rich website that gets
people to trust you.
Social media friendly and SEO:
Database management and information structure on our website will be built very strong with our web
development team so that any search engine giving us more visibility can easily read our data. Our
competitors, both Food ninja and Menu log are currently using a flash based platform, which is not a
right extension for SEO, as the SEO cannot identify a flash platform. This is going to give us a strong
strategic upper hand in reaching out to people by having more visibility.
Creating a larger database:
We will be creating an exhaustive database of restaurants in wellington by partnering with them, even
the ones who are not keen, we will work on a temporary strategic alliance to show them our reach and
eventually get them on board permanently and get them to generate business from our website. By this
we will be getting a full fledged menu of each restaurant with their contact details. For this we will
also be requiring a huge web space and that will be worked out with our web development

Alzheimer s And The Most Relevant Cause Of Dementia
Alzheimer s, the most relevant cause of Dementia, is a disease that affects as many as 4.5 million
Americans per year (WebMD 2005 2014). Alzheimer s is a disease that is an irremediable, continuous
brain neuron degenerative disease that can be asymptomatic at first and then overtime becomes
symptomatic. Alzheimer s is a gradual disease that advances in three phases: mild, then moderate, and,
finally, severe (1). Symptoms appear after the age of 60 and include: the slow destruction of memory
and thought processes, and ultimately ends with the absent ability to do normal everyday duties. These
symptoms can be anything from forgetting a recent event, or can be as problematic as forgetting the

Education and Referral Center). According to WebMD (2014), late onset is the most common form of
Alzheimer s disease that victimizes almost half of all of the people over the age of 65 and may or may

Alzheimer s disease. According to Glenn E. Smith, Ph.D., a neuropsychologist at Mayo Clinic, in
Rochester, Minn. (2014), Early onset Alzheimer s is an uncommon form of dementia that strikes about
5 percent of patients with symptoms before the age of 65. This form of Alzheimer s has been known to

can increase your risk of Alzheimer s in general (Smith 2014). The innate conduit of inheritance is

Space Colonization Vs Transhumanism
Space Colonization
While it doesn t seem like Transhumanism would be relevant here, humans are not adapted for space
travel (short lifespans, the need of oxygen, etc.). By then it will have to be accepted or else population
explosions and the way we are treating this planet currently, won t leave us a bunch of options in the
future. And at that point it will be look to the stars or perish.
Cybernetics
We touched on this earlier with Hugh Herr and his exoskeleton and his artificial limbs, his goal was to
make them seamlessly work with the human body at that point we have reach some form of
cybernetics. Each d ifferent augment would have a different task, it wouldn t be as subtle but the
effects would be immediate. Neil Harbisson (2012) is a man that was born colorblind, but due to
cybernetics he designed an eye that would transmit visual to sound.(TED, 2012) This would allow
colors to have a musical note to them, seeing the color red for him would be an F# whereas blue might
be a G. With Transhumanism this is one of the more common subjects you will see, because it is one
of the more desirable, the ability to ear at greater distances, smells that you never knew existed. It
could change the way our food would taste and the music we enjoy, more importantly change the way
we live our daily lives. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The, The Melting Pot, And The World
Culture is described as the set of beliefs, customs, ways of thinking and behaving that exists in a
particular society. Meanwhile, the act of having a sense of reality can be described as knowing the

could be different compared to another. However, a person s culture will affect how they think and
thus manipulate their perception of reality. Common examples of this are: route of upbringing,
political views, holistic medicinal approaches and most importantly, religion. The United States of
America has many different cultures present throughout the entire nation. That is why it is commonly
referred to as the melting pot of the world. This being said, people raised in different parts of the
United States will be apart of different cultures and thus different senses of reality. Someone raised in
the South will have a different culture than someone raised in the North. While this doesn t completely
alter their sense of reality, it does affect it. Even two neighbors will have different senses of reality
because in general, upbringing affects reality. Being optimistic will create opportunities and also
impact how to live your life on a day to day basis (Creagan). In indian culture, a symptom of being
lonely likely reflects a sense of social marginalization, (Watters 518). The sense of reality Indians

Social Aspects Of Autism
Autism is mostly defined by and impairment in speech/communication. It is made of other other
things, but it mostly is that. It comes in a scale, or spectrum, called the autism spectrum and consists
of high functioning and low functioning, with more complications. Most of the statements are
common generalizations, and don t mean that autism isn t autism without these qualities.
The most important part is how it affects social aspects. Often, talk with short sentences and phrases
instead of full sentences, or can t even talk at all (1/3 people), no matter how smart they are
(remember, high functioning and low functioning)! They don t know eye contact (In my experience, it
led to arguments), and are often repetitive in their speech.

Endgame Research Paper
Samuel Beckett s Endgame at first glance appears to be a peculiar play about four characters in an
unusual and seemingly post apocalyptic setting. Yet, upon further investigation, it is apparent that
Beckett uses the play s strange and isolated environment to expound upon and investigate humans will
to live. Though the play is marked by a lack of significant plot development, Beckett employs the
relationships between characters and certain reoccurring ideas to establish a seemingly bleak and
depressing environment in which the characters fight for their existence. In particular, each character
is stuck in a daily unchanging routine, which confirms their existence and gives their lives meaning.
There is also a preoccupation with death by the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the midst of the darkness and sadness that surrounds them, Clov, Hamm, and Nagg oppose death by
focusing on menial and futile routines that assert their existence and give their lives meaning.
Similarly, Nagg uses the story of his past to alleviate the immense emotional burden of living in a
depressing world, which allows him to more effectively cope with his miserable life and resist being
consumed by the darkness that surrounds him. This in turn allows him to oppose death. It is interesting
to note that both routines imply that the characters actively resist death and in doing so choose to
continue living in a world where they are encircled by sadness. This is a surprisingly positive message
of humans intense desire to live in a play that is predominately focused on death and the wickedness

same privileges in school because the quality of education provided to them is mediocre. Nonetheless,
black people are distinguished as an un educated lower class, whereas, white people are perceived as

The characters of the meat deliveryman and Dorothy are in the film to convey to the audience that
there is nothing wrong with interracial relationships, whether by means of friendship or marriage. It
doesn t make a difference because the younger generation likes Dorothy and the meat deliveryman is
more open minded. Dorothy and the meat deliveryman appear to enjoy each others company without

Dog Is Man s Best Friend
Dog is Man s Best Friend The image that I chose was a photograph taken by a woman named Elena
Shunilova. The photo was taken of her child and their family dog. To me, this image is beautiful. In
the center, there is a young boy kneeling down next to a very large dog. It appears to be just transition
to winter from autumn. The ground is still brown but snow is faintly falling around the boy and dog.
The young boy is wearing a navy blue snow outfit with tan fur accents around the hood and in a ball
on top of his hat. His eyes are closed as he is embracing the large dog sitting next to him. It seems to
be cold out based on his rosy red cheeks against his very pale skin. The dog stands tall and appears to
be older than the boy by the matting in the cream colored fur on his chest. He is black around the
jowls as well as his eyes and ears. If the boy were to stand tall next to him, he would barely be taller.
The dog s eyes are also closed and his front legs are in a wide stance. The bottom and top of the image
are slightly blurred, and very dull in color. It appears to be a very cloudy day. The image itself as well
as the setting is enough to raise curiosity in the story behind this photograph. There are some aspects
of this image that really stood out to me. Typically, when you introduce children to large dogs, or
really any animals, they are terrified and do not want to be around them. I can only imagine walking
up to an animal that stands taller than you; I would be

An analysis of Case 29: Big Pharma s Marketing Tactics
Introduction
The Big Pharma controversy is about the wide scale marketing malpractices used by big
pharmaceutical companies in America which resulted in a series of negative implications on
consumers. It revolves around pharmaceutical companies, government regulators, health professionals
(or unprofessional ), market consumers and the medical watchdogs. The dispute was formed between
the supporters of the marketing tactics used by pharmaceutical representatives and the detractors to it.
Specifically it is the context that matters: Is it right, or rather ethical for the medical ... Show more

Back in 2009, a study out of Harvard University and Massachusetts General Hospital found that 84
percent of doctors have ties to drug companies, a ten percent drop from five years earlier. But roughly
two thirds of doctors still accept drug samples, while 70 percent accept food and beverage incentives
from drug companies. And fourteen percent continue to accept cash payments for services. While
some of these unethical practices were tapered off, not all were uprooted. Some doctors did not
disclose the amount of gifts and cash which they have accepted from the drug companies. They
believe that their decisions on the prescription of drugs would not be influenced by the gifts which
they have accepted.
In my opinion, the supporters, primarily the health professionals and representatives of the
pharmaceutical giants, have disregarded the genuine health implications and the high drug costs
incurred to the general public in concern. They might try fending off such moral challenges by
claiming that substantial amount of advertising is necessary to boost the sales of their products.
Securing more profits would also mean more money can be invested on research for better drugs.
However, it is evident that the excessive promotional efforts of drugs have blinded the pharmaceutical
industry, in the pursuit of more profits and sales. Their main concern of profit maximization still

The Etruscan Temples And The Parthenon
During the fifth century and Eighth century BCE, The Etruscan Temples and The Parthenon were built
and valued by their cultures for many spiritual and cultural reasons. Similar to the Parthenon, The
Etruscan Temples are built with influences from Greece. However, Both have different appearances
based off of there medium, purpose, and architecture. The Etruscan Temple and the Parthenon both
have strong stances within there cultures and provide peace and empowerment for the population of
the time. Both structures are two similar ancient buildings, though there differences in culture and
architecture set them apart. The Etruscan culture was located in central Italy to the north of Rome. The
Etruscan Temples were built by the Etruscans during the Archaic period (600 480 BCE). By the time
archaeologists discovered the Etruscan Temples, they were very worn down and most were no longer
standing, though, they were measured to about 5x6 meters long with a height of 2 meters with the altar
of ten steps in the front of the temple. The Etruscans made small temples, like little houses with
pointed roofs, entirely of wood, but then outside, they had freizes and cornices and crests of terra cotta
so the upper part of the temple would seem as almost made of earthenware... (Lawrence 52) They
were able to use the mud as a kind of concrete to keep the wood and brick in place. The Temples
typically had three cellas where as the Parthenon only had one. As for the Parthenon, it was located on

A Girl Of The Limberlost Analysis
In the novel A Girl of the Limberlost by Gene Stratton Porter, there lies in the pages the themes of
nature and moths, both intrinsic motifs sunk deep into the bones of the storyline. The beauty and
elegance of nature is viewed by the characters as a direct manifestation of the hand of God. As such,
the characters in the story basked in the glory of the outdoors and spent most the time perusing the
surrounding areas around their homes. Each character in the novel had a different relationship to
nature. For some, such as nature was a way to find inner peace. For others, nature represented the
turbulence and wildness upon which the course of life took you. Specific places out in the surrounding
environment novel also had a noteworthy part in the theme of nature. And then you have characters in
which nature played a more significant role such as Elnora and her mother Mrs. Comstock s life. The
focal point of the story is focused on the heroin Elnora Comstock with her collection of moths and her
crotchety mother Mrs. Comstock. Elnora is a poor necessitous girl who receives no support from her
mother. This is due to the fact that Mrs. Comstock blames Elnora for her husband s death by
asphyxiation in the limberlost swamp. All of the nurturing and care she had came from Margaret and
Wesley Sinton. The lack of care and support from her mother led Elnora to have to pay for her own
education. She managed to collect the funds she needed by selling her rare

Examples Of Dido In The Aeneid
A prime example of a relationship that holds the stability of a society on its shoulders in The Aeneid is
between Dido (Queen of Carthage) and the Carthaginian people. We first encounter Dido in Book
One, when Aeneas and Achates are wandering through Carthage, shrouded by cloud. Virgil describes,
Dido walked happily with the throng around her, intent on hastening the work for her future realm,
telling us that as a Queen, she devoted to her city and loved by her subjects. This description of Dido
walking around Carthage starkly contrasts with Virgil s passage in Book four describing her walking
through the city, after Dido s heart has been inflamed by cupid s arrow with passion for Aeneas. Virgil
writes, Dido as on fire with love and wandering ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It was seen as an uncontrollable sickness; a good Roman woman would take a pre approved,
appropriate husband not a man she was in love with. It is for this reason we can begin to understand
Virgil s viewpoint on the situation. In her attempt to help Aeneas, Venus inadvertently cuts all ties
Dido had with her people. Venus weapon of choice: love. Once the graceful, level headed queen was
infected by cupid s arrow, she became irrational and irresponsible with only Aeneas in mind, breaking
the relationship she had with her subjects. Dido laments, Because of (Aeneas) I have lost all self
respect and my good name, my only hope of reaching the stars, an example of the inner conflict
caused by a breakdown in relationship. Once compared to the exceptionally beautiful Diana, Virgil s
last description of Dido before her suicide is as follows; Her eyes were reddening and rolling... and
she was pale with the pallor of imminent death. This character breakdown provides the audience with
excellent evidence of how love (due to the interference from the gods) ruined Dido, and subsequently
the strong relationship she had once fostered with her

Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia ( Pcd )
Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia (PCD) is a rare, heterogeneous and largely autosomal recessive disorder.
The disease can be caused by different genetic mutations that will result in the same genetic disorder.
Currently, there are more than 20 genes with mutations that can cause PCD. In order for the patient to
develop this congenital disorder, two copies of the mutated gene, one from each parent, must be
present. Abnormal characteristics include both the function of the motile cilia and the structure,
although the structure may also be normal (Boon et al.). The cilia in the airway do not move the
mucus out and this causes infections due to the mucus accumulation. Another component of this
disease is upper and lower respiratory tract infections. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Patients are being misdiagnosed due to the fact that their symptoms are common and that they are
found in other conditions. PCD is often diagnosed late even though the disease is present during birth.
Common symptoms of this disorder include rhinorrhea, chronic productive cough, rhinosinusitis,
inflammation of the middle ear and prolonged discharge from the ear. Most patients will have extra
testing done to rule out similar respiratory conditions, such as a sweat test and serum immunoglobin
measurements. Symptoms or conditions that suggest PCD are situs abnormalities, positive family
history, idiopathic bronchiectasis, agenesis of one or both sinuses, male infertility, ectopic pregnancies
and, diagnosis in other family members, (Bush Hogg). According to the PCD Foundation, there are
about 400,000 people worldwide with PCD and an estimated 25,000 in the United States. The PCD
foundation states that very few patients have been identified due to the fact of the difficulty in
diagnosing the disorder. Knowles et al. indicated that the prevalence of PCD in the United States is
difficult to determine largely due to inadequacies of diagnostic measures. There are fewer than 1,000
patients in the United States with a well established diagnosis of PCD . In relation to race, ethnicity,
heritage or gender there is no identifiable at risk group (PCD Foundation). There are prevalent features

To resolve this problem, Firstly I will analyze gaps in system in terms of cost allocation, revenue

2) What is the transfer price from metro branches to the treasury and vice versa?
Transfer pricing necessarily results from the exchanges of goods and services among the decentralized

  • 2. How To Write A Military Application Essay When I was younger, I knew I could become anything I wanted to as long as I set my mind to it. With inspiration at my fingertips and always believing in myself, that s what pushed me forward to always succeed with whatever I do and to never give up. Like the time everyone around me with the exceptional people said I could never make it in the military, that I was too weak. Even people who I trusted most said that. So i joined. I stepped into that recruiter office with my long just dyed red hair, shorts and sandals. They all looked at me with astonishment as if I had stepped into the wrong building. After signing up I was sent to Fort Jackson, SC in the following months. When I got there I saw, heard, and did so many things that shaped me to the person I am today. It made me realize how strong I really am, and how anyone can achieve their goals. When I got to basic training I saw things that you only see in those old military movies, everyone was either scared or ready for the training that we would soon receive. Me , however I was one of the ready ones that took it day by day and swore to never give up. I ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They guided me throughout my training and told me everything that was essential knowing for the future or in a real life situation. I was taught to shoot a weapon for the first time, where the hand placements go and corrected if I did it incorrectly. I made sure to listen to everything they said carefully and to also listen to any orders they gave. I remember a certain point in my training where I had to face my fear of heights and propel myself off a 40 foot wall, they walked me through it and I pushed myself through to do it and didn t give up. It was satisfying to overcome my fear furthermore i m grateful to this day that I had the opportunity to learn from the best drill sergeants, I have ever ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Hot Air Balloon In A Wall Of Fire Rising A massive, air filled balloon wandering mindlessly in the sky thousands of feet high is likely what comes to mind when you think of a hot air balloon, but this is not the case in the story A Wall of Fire Rising. In this story, the hot air balloon mentioned has such a deeper meaning to Guy. Characteristics of a hot air balloon include being filled with air, but hollow, free flying, and non stationary. These four characteristics define the symbol in a whole other light; they describe hopefulness, trapped, destined, unattainable freedom and escape. As the story evolves Guy s perspective and the meanings on the symbol changes as well. A hot air balloon can be classified as filled with air, hollow, free flying, and non stationary. The hot air balloon ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As hopeful as Guy was, is anything he was trying to accomplish even in his reach? All the things he wants to do for him and his family seem so farfetched; it s questionable where this hope even comes from. When the Haiti got their freedom from the French, Guy mistakenly took this notion as a beginning to freedom. He was stuck in a predestined future; he was poor and without a job. He was hopeful to have his name on the job list because this meant an opportunity. As time went by, he realized the hope was back up nothing. He was so far buried down on the job list that it was nearly impossible to ever get out of the situation he was stuck in. Throughout the whole story he was the most hopeful person, and it was easily seen by his determination and effort. He has high hope for a job, freedom, escape and an opportunity even for his family. As the story developed, he became weary. He sees all the unachieved hopes he had was pointless. He became hopeless and trapped inside his destined fate. He was stuck inside a life that didn t give him opportunities, second chances, promises, freedom or escape. He lived the life in the same shoes his father did. Ultimately every factor he tries to accomplish backfires and he s trapped back at square one. He hoped for a better life apart of the life he saw growing up with his father. This, as a matter of fact, changed nothing for Guy; he was buried ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Mexican Drugs Mexico: Drugs or Democracy Introduction Illicit drug trade between Mexico and the United States, estimated between $17 billion and $38 billion a year in 2009 by the Drug Intelligence Center, has a long and storied past. Cartels operated with relative impunity from government prosecution during the seventy year reign of the Institutional Revolutionary Party, (PRI). The movement from an authoritarian government system of the PRI to the liberal democracy initiated by the election victory of the National Action Party, (PAN), candidate, Vicente Fox, in 2000, disrupted the status quo. Election gains by PAN Representatives disrupted long standing agreements between the cartels and government officials which led to the increased violence that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The DFS was supposed to fight drugs but one of the founders, Senator Colonel Carlos Serrano, was tied to the drug cartels. His appointment provided a direct link between the ruling political party and the drug cartels ensuring a flow of profits to government officials in exchange for protection and also mitigated the need for drug traffickers to participate in politics. This collaborative arrangement produced several decades of minimal drug related violence which was directed at opposing groups and did not affect the general population. Social changes in the United States during the 1960s and 1970 accompanied increased consumption of marijuana and later cocaine use became more widespread in the 19080s. The proliferation of drug use in American society prompted a change in the political view on drugs and the United States government declared war on drugs. The U.S. government focused on the drug producing and trafficking nations and pressured those nations into joining the war . Mexico was pressured into heightening its efforts to combat drugs which included military operations to destroy drug trade and growing fields. These efforts focused on migrant workers forced into labor by the drug lords, barely disrupting the cartel s operations. The link between the DFS and the Mexican political structure came to an end with the assassination of U.S. DEA agent, Enrique Camarena, in 1985 and the subsequent pressure on the Mexican government. ... • 6. To His Coy Mistress Analysis Andrew Marvell s To His Coy Mistress, written in the year 1681, gives readers the implication that he was a man with progressive ideas about sex that lack concern for the common ideals and moral standards of his lifetime. Marvell s ideas and phrases in this poem have an honest and realistic basis. He does not sugarcoat what he is trying to say, yet he is able to poetically and coercively make his point known to his potential mate. Opposing styles of appeal in parts one and two blossoms into an eloquently convincing conclusion which will force his potential lover into an urgent battle between her id and her superego. This analysis breaks the poem into thirds, the first of which (part one), the speaker progresses slowly, as romance often does. Appealling to her romantic feminine interests, he tries to woo the object of his affection with beautiful words and phrases. Marvel s appeal to a woman s innate desire for romance ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... To act like something that you are not is not natural; therefore, it is not truthful. He wants her to rebel against that untruth. More than likely, throughout life, she learned to perfect this coyness. Now the speaker is breaking apart the standard she knows is true and good. According to Oxford Dictionary s online version, quaint can be taken to mean cunningly devised (506). Although other definitions of the word quaint exist, in this poem, the speaker obviously puts emphasis on the coy aspect of his mistress, so it makes sense that he would (once again) point this out in part three of his poem. The speaker implies that her unwillingness to submit to him is a result of her cunningly devised façade, or coy attitude, not her lack of desire to do so. Though long preserved virginity, And your quaint honour turn to dust ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Philosophy Of Teaching And Teaching Teaching is among the most intricate, eternal and beautiful professions and as a visionary and cultural leader I know that education transcends time and place, deriving much from both social, cultural context and individual style. I am committed to continuously improve my practices with the desire that my leading example instills in my students and colleagues the passion and enthusiasm for learning and teaching. I am a dedicated, resourceful educational professional who consistently take part in training opportunities designed to strength and improve educator s pedagogical skills, monitor policies and practices that promote a safe learning environment. As a managerial leader, collaboration and good communication in the school setting is very important to me because Effective principals are effective managers. They must communicate, develop relationships, and coordinate efforts of teachers, assistant principals, custodians, secretaries, counselors, librarians (Alby Robbins, 1998, P. 16). • 9. Venus And The Greenhouse Effect Today in everyday life, the Greenhouse effect has been heating up our planet Earth. But not only has Earth been effected, Mars, the moon Titan, and most importantly Venus. Because Venus is so closely related to Earth, scientist have used Venus s problem to predict what could happen to Earth in the future. Most of Venus s problem come from being so close to the sun, the thickness of its atmosphere, and its past experience with the Runaway Greenhouse Effect. The definition of greenhouse effect is, as the planet absorbs the sun s energy, it also releases a different form of energy called radiation which gets absorbed by the greenhouse gases making the atmosphere warmer. One of the main Greenhouse gases is Carbon Dioxide, which is very effective at trapping heat in an atmosphere, and is being added to the atmosphere faster than Venus can naturally remove it. Carbon Dioxide is trapped in Venus s atmosphere due to the absence of its magnetic field, making it easier for lighter gases to escape into outer space, and for heavier ones to be trapped like Carbon Dioxide. ... • 10. Advertising and Behavior Control Essay In the article Advertising and Behavior Control there were many arguments for and against advertising. The first and the biggest problem Robert L. Arrington has against advertising is puffery. The reason/reasons why Arrington has a problem with puffery is due to the fact that the seller makes exaggerated, or suggestive claims about a product. His overall argument on puffery is that it isn t just bragging but it is bragging that is designed to persuade you to want the item or product being sold. The bragging goes so far as they convince the viewer (of the advertisement) they need the product. Puffery ultimately leads to manipulation, exploitation, and control over what people think of the product. Although Arrington has reasons ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These are just a couple of the arguments for and against advertising, and Arrington continues with many more thought provoking and legitimate arguments. All in all, Arrington makes claims for and against advertising, and eventually comes to the conclusion that he does not know what is right. If advertising is indeed good or bad as he says on page 289 I do not pretend to have the answer. I only hope that the above discussion, in showing some of the kinds of harm that can be done by advertising and by indicating the likely limits of this harm, will put us in a better position to grapple with the question. I chose to write about the Australian government because I really don t hear much about Australia. It currently has a pretty interesting story to tell when it comes to their government. I became a bit interested in Australian politics when I saw a political animated cartoon on the internet that depicted Kevin Rudd, the last Prime Minister, on a news television show and it was quite humorous. I am going to give a quick history lesson on Australia then go into how the government formed and came to be. Now I shall talk about how the Australian Constitution. It s common knowledge to know that a constitution is pretty much the law of the land and a foundation of the laws that rule there. Constitutions are very important for countries to have. Helen Irving explains in The Oxford Companion of Australian Politics that, Its Preamble records the agreement of the six Australian colonies to federate in 1901 and to remain together as one indissoluble federal Commonwealth . The Australian Constitution was written as a bill when the colonies met in 1890. The constitution has a full draft by the end of 1891 but colonial parliaments failed to pass it (Irving). Lepore seems to be very educated in politics, and I find her articles to be very well researched and informative. Her articles seem to be relevant to everyone in general, she wants the readers to be informed and make educated opinions. Lepore likes to talk about the past and contrast it to the present. This is a very great way to inform readers of the history and sacrifices women had to go through to get where we are today. The women s party has only been around 100 years, this year, and without it, our country would not be where it is today. I thought that Hillary was going to be the first women president, instead we have the first president who has never held a political office. Clinton spoke to women when she debated and when she was at rallies. She reached out to women specifically trying to earn their vote, and with all the protests lately she seemed to have reached a lot of women, as well as men. Most of the time women are more compassionate, understanding, and motherly, whereas men are not. It has taken a long time for women to accomplish the things we have, and Lepore talks about this in several of her articles. Should The United States Give Aid To The Poor Poverty and Dependency: Aid for the Poor The United States of America gives billions of dollars in financial aid each year to help support a myriad of different countries to include Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, and multiple African nations. It is morally and ethically correct to help countries in times of true emergency, but how much help is considered too much? Are we as a nation hindering our own growth and future preservation by contributing to this worldwide aid? The answer is very clear when put into perspective. First of all, giving financial aid to other countries helps them to continue their current way of life with ease. However, by giving aid in the form of money, medical supplies, and food hinders hard working people because they have to pay taxes, for a service that does not benefit them in any way. If aid is constantly given to poor countries, we will eventually find ourselves in hardship situations, and we will have no one to help us in future times of need. Rupert Brooke s poetry encouraged men to sign up for recruitment into the English army. Although Brooke passed away before he got to serve his country in the war, he firmly believed that dying for one s country would be romantic, noble and heroic. Brooke s poetry contained unintentionally misleading beliefs of what dying while serving your country was like. The sound of crowds waiting eager to see an upcoming flick they ve been anxious about pleased my ears; this atmosphere of innocence and joy caused me to make this theatre my safe haven. Then after watching an abundance of movies I finally scratched what I had felt. It was the beginning itch to become a filmmaker. • 33. Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia ( Pcd ) Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia (PCD) is a rare, heterogeneous and largely autosomal recessive disorder. The disease can be caused by different genetic mutations that will result in the same genetic disorder. Currently, there are more than 20 genes with mutations that can cause PCD. In order for the patient to develop this congenital disorder, two copies of the mutated gene, one from each parent, must be present. Abnormal characteristics include both the function of the motile cilia and the structure, although the structure may also be normal (Boon et al.). The cilia in the airway do not move the mucus out and this causes infections due to the mucus accumulation. Another component of this disease is upper and lower respiratory tract infections. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Patients are being misdiagnosed due to the fact that their symptoms are common and that they are found in other conditions. PCD is often diagnosed late even though the disease is present during birth. Common symptoms of this disorder include rhinorrhea, chronic productive cough, rhinosinusitis, inflammation of the middle ear and prolonged discharge from the ear. Most patients will have extra testing done to rule out similar respiratory conditions, such as a sweat test and serum immunoglobin measurements. Symptoms or conditions that suggest PCD are situs abnormalities, positive family history, idiopathic bronchiectasis, agenesis of one or both sinuses, male infertility, ectopic pregnancies and, diagnosis in other family members, (Bush Hogg). According to the PCD Foundation, there are about 400,000 people worldwide with PCD and an estimated 25,000 in the United States. The PCD foundation states that very few patients have been identified due to the fact of the difficulty in diagnosing the disorder. Knowles et al. indicated that the prevalence of PCD in the United States is difficult to determine largely due to inadequacies of diagnostic measures. There are fewer than 1,000 patients in the United States with a well established diagnosis of PCD . In relation to race, ethnicity, heritage or gender there is no identifiable at risk group (PCD Foundation). There are prevalent features that should alert clinicians ...
