Baby Igneous Rocks Research Paper
Volcano eruptions bring newborn rocks to the world. Every year, rock families would wait
around volcanos for the erupted magma or surface lava to cool down. Each family would adopt
the baby igneous rocks of their type, who share the same genes, or minerals, as them. These
igneous rocks could have a variety of appearance and crystal sizes. Some rocks composed of
surface lava have smaller, less complex crystalline structures. They were cooled much faster when
they were in contact with air or water, and larger, more complex crystalline structure would not be
formed before they harden. On the adoption day, all kinds of rocks could be spotted; with different
lustre, colour, crystalline structure, and mineral composition. As baby igneous rocks

Pet Store Animals Satire
Hello everyone, my name is Katrina Clark. So, imagine one day you were ripped away from
your family and from your home with nowhere to go, in the street, cold, starving, and have
absolutely no idea where your next meal is going to come from. Well, for over 7 million animals
each year that is the sad reality. I personally own around ten cats that were either from a shelter
or on the street starving. I also own two dogs that I have found on the road that had been
dumped and left to die. My experience with adopting these animals has truly opened my eyes to
how many animals are truly in need of homes. All of these animals are sweet blessings that I
wouldn t trade for the world. If I can find loving furry friends that I love, then so can you. With...

The sad reality is that there are too many homeless pets than there ones with loving homes to care
for them. Also according to humane society.org, 2.7 million adoptable cats and dogs are
euthanized in the United States simply because too many pets come into shelters and too few
people consider adoption when looking for a pet. When you adopt, you not only save a life, but
you also free up a cage for another desperate animal to be adopted. By adopting, your money goes
towards spay and neutering, pet education, running the shelter, and also puts an end to cruel puppy
and kitten mills, which saves countless more animals by doing

My First Love Is Doing Business
My first love was doing business. With my family operating a restaurant when I was a child, I
unconsciously learned how to run an operation and deal with customers within the business
surroundings. It would be easy to trace its origins back to my mother, who was a restaurant
manager, and while she definitely encouraged me, I had a natural drive to unlock the power of
doing business, which gave me a lens through which to view the world around me. During the
summer of my junior year in high school, I hosted my first charity bazaar, a charity sale for self
customized T shirts for a local orphanage that sponsored by my high school. Given much advance
publicity, I did well at the sale, making over $100 in an hour. That accomplishment made me realize
my passion toward marketingand motivated me to pursue a Bachelor degree in Business
Management during my undergraduate studies.
When I enrolled at Case Western Reserve University (CWRU), marketing was my core interest: it
has provided numerous opportunities for hands on experience from class projects, such as
predictive analytics with software like SPSS and Tableau, and strategic case analysis with
marketing tools like SWOT and Porter s five force. In addition, with my supporting minor in
psychology, I also gain a psychological perspective and deeply understand how customers are
attracted to, and persuaded to, purchase merchandise as well as how companies build lasting
relationships with those customers. Besides, after taking a

The African-American Community
One of the main issues that America has continued to ignore is the problems within the African
American community. Many children within the African American community fail to get the
necessary leadership from their respective parents. That lack of leadership generally occurs from
the absence pf a father figure in the household. Reason may be because of a father being imprisoned
for whatever reason, or the father being killed by law enforcement illegally. Thus, the more
impressionable minds within the community commit illegal activities to get recognition from their
peers. Indeed, these people should be punished for their acts by law enforcement. What the African
American community needs are not police enforcement in the citizens daily... Show more content

Self accountability consists of someone being willing to own responsibly or to account for their
actions in a responsible manner. Rather than owning up to the wrongdoing committed it is common
for those in the African American community to give up and only rely on drug abuse to get from
day to day. The rate of recurrent alcoholism among African Americans is 35.4 percent, versus 33
percent among Hispanics and 22.8 percent among whites. (Sunrise House, Winter). A lot alike

other drugs they are also more likely to get addicted to that as well. As stated by, Gil Scott Heron,

Ancient Wonders of the World
The ancient wonders of the world are seven such sights that were constructed around the first
and second century but do not exist in the present day. During the fourth century, the Greeks had
conquered sufficient land in Persia, Egypt and Babylon which gave writers access to travel
these areas freely. The Greek writers would note down any interesting sights that they saw and
would make lists of them, and although today, we see these seven wonders as just one list, in
reality, there were several lists of monuments and sights as a whole on all the lists, but the ones
that were common on most are considered to be the world s ancient wonders. The oldest of the
ancient wonders is the Great Pyramid of Giza. It is believed by historians that this pyramid was
built for Pharaoh Khufu and took about 20 years for its construction to be concluded in 2560
BC. Records show that it is 756 feet long on each side and its vertical height is 450 feet tall.
Around a hundred thousand slaves were employed and 2,300,000 blocks were used, one block
being heavy to the extent that 112 men would be needed to lift just one individual block. The
interior architecture of the pyramid consists of three chambers, one being for the King, the other
for the Queen and one being a Grand Gallery. The pyramid s entrance is 17 meters above ground
level from where there is a descending passage continued by an ascending passage several meters
later. This pyramid is the only ancient wonder which is largely intact

Harold Bing Research Paper
Activist of World War I Harold Bing, Catherine Marshall, Fenner Brockway, Helen Crawfurd and
Eugene Debs all worked together to protest against World War I. They protested so that their
world would not be full of violence. Activist, or people who try to make a social or political
change, all had one goal in mind, to stop the war from happening and to keep the public safe. To
do this many protested publicly and used peace to try to persuade other s thoughts. All of these
people were very influential during the time of the war. Harold Bing was sixteen years old when

The Preservation Of Life In Solitude By Henry D. Thoreau
The preservation of nature is a very important topic in today s society. Everywhere from popular
media to politics, it is an often debated topic that if not taken seriously, it could mean the end of
nature, no, of life itself. Human beings although not always considered directly a part of nature, in
reality, are an integral composition of natureitself. However, mankind throughout the centuries has
wounded and destroyed nature. If viewed from a broader spectrum, they have been destroying
themselves. War, advancements in civilization, industrialization, and many more human
developments have brought nature life itself to the brink of annihilation. Nature is not only the
home of the wildlife that inhabit it, but has been man s home from their... Show more content on

Human beings have been blinded by modern society and its greed and thirst for power through
war. War and greed only causes unjustified damage to nature, life itself, and should be stopped. It
is not necessary for every human being to desert the comfort of their modern society and go live
in the wilderness. However, measures should be established to preserve and protect nature from
monetary greed; the unjustified elimination of Earths landscapes for profit driven means. There
should always be limits to deter the further destruction of our lands. Weapons capable of
committing mass destruction to nature should also be limited in their use and production; they not
only kill nature, but kill living beings including humans as well. If reasonable measures to preserve
and protect nature from warfare and greed can be established, at least to diminish the destruction
caused, nature can go on and be enjoyed by every individual now and

Behn presents us with an extensive parody in her novel Oroonoko: a complete slave narrative,
depicting the enslavement of both man and woman. She uses historical fact as well as semi
anthropologically accurate setting to reveal the truth in her words. Historically speaking, women
were slaves for centuries before the white man enslaved the black man. Women were bartered and
sold into marriage, abuses and forced to work under the watchful eyes of her husband. Aphra Behn

However, once the slave market opened up and expanded, slaves became the major
commodities: being a white slave owner developed into the very definition of wealth and
prestige, of class and sophistication. Slave women became fetishes for white slave owners.
Hegemony is defined as the dominance and influence of one social class over others. As
Raymond Williams puts it, hegemony is a concept which at once includes and goes beyond two
powerful earlier concepts: that of culture as a whole social process , in which men define and
shape their [and those which they control, i.e. women] whole lives; and that of ideology , in any
of its Marxist senses, in which a system of meanings and values is the expression or projection
of a particular class [white European wealthy male] interest (108). Subsequently, the needs of this
hegemony, this ideology plus, defines the commodities of the time. A commodity is a product of
value and use, separate from a service. In other words, the individual ho provides the service, is
technically, a commodity. The predominant social class being that of the wealthy white European
male, this hegemony, is then capable deciding what is acceptable in society and what is not. In a
capitalist s society, Imoinda s place became that of a commodity. In a consumerist s society,
Imoinda s place became that of a fetish, every man capable

House Of Tudor Research Paper
Imagine you were royalty. You got to eat fancy dinners, were pampered, and was waited on hand
and foot. This is how it was for the House of Tudor in 16th Century England. The people included
in this royal family are Henry VIII, Edward I, Lady Jane Grey, Mary I, and Elizabeth I. The
House of Tudor, the ruling family of 16th Century England, was an influential ruling family
whether it was positive or negative, most of the time it was negative though. Tudor history is
complicated with many interwoven stories. Owen Tudor is the first of the known Tudors. He
was a welsh adventurer; he fought in a war where Henry V was beheaded. Owen married Henry V

The first ruler after Henry VIII died was his son, Edward VII. He was a child when he was
crowned at Westminster. Henry VIII tried not to crown Edward as a child, but he failed.
Edward was very close with his stepmother, Katherine Parr, Elizabeth, his sister, and Mary, his
other sister. Edward made many protestant laws during his rule. When Edward died he didn t
want Mary I to rule so he made his cousin, Lady Jane Grey, ruler. Lady Jane Grey was the second
ruler of England. Lady Jane Grey was made queen but only ruled for nine days. She is also
known as the nine day queen. Jane married Guildford Dudley as a child. The Dudleys knew
about what the king chose to do and they only had Guilford marry her so they could be royalty.
After Jane was made queen, she realized their plan and told Guildford she would never make
him king, but only a duke. He ran out and Jane realized she had to make him king because she
had to have an heir. Mary overthrew Jane and became queen. Mary was the third ruler of kids.
Mary became ruler at age 37. She was neglected as a child because not many of Henry s wives

Henry hadn t divorced her mom. Mary also wanted to have a child so she married the prince of
Spain. He wouldn t marry Mary until she killed every protestant in England; this is how she got

Personally the turbocharging option is the way which would work better in my opinion TMD

Turbo technics technology offer a Hybrid Turbo for the Land rover Defender 2200cc engine
which produces more torque over a wider range compared to the original turbo unit the power
produced is moderately enhanced, this offers better driveability and gives the engine better
responses to which the Defender 90 feels more effective at off roading and handles considerably
better with the right setup for the road.
The 2200cc puma engine is a good four cylinder engine which offers a good torque output and

the TD5 is not as responsive personally as the TDCI 4 Cylinder Puma engine.

As a result of increased corruption in the Catholic Church, a significant number of priests in the
16th century tried to transform Christianity back to its previous Biblical basis and simplicity.
Initially, priests channeled much of their efforts in reforming the church, but they discovered that it
was very challenging, and the only viable solution was to split completely from the Catholic Church
. There were four movements as a result of the reformation events. They include the Anglicans,
Lutherans, Reformed Tradition (Calvin), and the Anabaptists. Key figures in the... Show more

Reformations Theological Issues
Luther identified three major principles that were acknowledged by other Protestant factions.
According to the theological premises, all Christians are mandated to believe in the Scripture s
primacy. The idea means that the Biblical literal meaning should be favored in contrast to any
learned or conventional readings. Christians are also supposed to reject anything not founded in
Scripture. Secondly, justification is by faith alone, and Christians through believing will be saved,
and not by their good works; as maintained by the Catholic Church. The other premise is the
priesthood of the believer. The idea meant that it was not ideal to consider ordained priests as the
true spiritual estate members. Priesthood was eliminated by Luther in Protestant Churches though
some still make use of pastors or ministers to lead.
Apart from the three principals, the Eucharist sacrament was also elucidated by Luther with
reference to consubstantiation. Consubstantiation refers to the assurance that Christ is indeed
present in the Eucharist celebration. The belief is also similar to the transubstantiation doctrine.
However, in the transubstantiation doctrine, it is believed that wine and bread factually change to
the blood and body of Jesus Christ during the

Pros And Cons Of The Powhatans
Prior to the arrival of the Europeans the Powhatan s were far less populated and were far less
developed then the Europeans. They were hunter gatherers, hunting in thick forests during
winter or neo lithic farmers who lived in villages and grew their own crops (such as maize,
cotton, medicine and corn) and lived of them during summer and spring. The Powhatan s
believed that land was not to be owned but belonged to everyone and anyone, on that land they
built simple tent like houses that they could easily move when they had to. They did not have
brick houses and buildings that the Europeans had. The Powhatan s used sticks, bows and
arrows to hunt and not guns and weapons used by the Spanish. In a civilised place a man would
do most of the work but women were the ones who built houses, fetched firewood and a lot more
(Source 2) which is one of the many reasons why the Europeans thought the Indians were not
civilised. There were no real boundaries, tribes were separated by rivers, swamps, mountains, and
other natural landmarks (Source 13). The way they fought or killed was brutal, ...two large stones
were placed on the ground, Smith s head was forced upon them and a warrior raised a club to
smash in his brain (Source 4).
The European nation that came to the Powhatan territory were the Spanish people. A lot of things
brought them to the American territory, the Queen of England specifically was interested in the
possibility of the colonies providing gold, a passage to Asia and challenging Spain in a world
totally different from what they were used to ( the new world) (Source 1). The Spanish wanted to
trade, establish new townships and plantations (source 2). They basically wanted to take over the
Powhatan land and own it even if it was to be done by force. The Spanish invaded the Powhatan
territory because they believed that it would make them richer then what they already were, the
routes, the trade, the goods that the Native Americans had and the land of course. All of those
things would help boost the Europeans economy bringing not only money but even more
development to the countries there. They also wanted to settle and develop the place as their own
homes.

Darcy And Collins Proposal Essay
It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be
in want of a wife, this quote is the first line of Pride and Prejudice, which also stands as a
summary for the entire plot of the story: marriage. This plot involves many key events, two of the
most important being Darcy s proposal to Elizabeth and Collins proposal to Elizabeth.
Within both proposals, Darcy and Collins are confident that Elizabeth will accept. Mr. Collins is
Elizabeth s cousin who is next in line to receive the Bennet estate. This reason, with the fact that
his patroness, Lady Catherine, wants him to pursue a wife, is why he proposed to Elizabeth, and
with the estate circumstances, why he assumed she would say yes. Darcy s proposal is similar in
the way that he takes into account how the marriage would be of benefit to Elizabeth and her
family, financially and socially. Both Collins and Darcy speak in a way that comes across as
arrogance. They both take it upon themselves to emphasize the benefits marriage to ... Show more

for Elizabeth whatsoever. During Darcy s proposal, he begins by stating his love for Elizabeth
and then the advantages on her part. He also absurdly states how marrying her is a sacrifice for

Elizabeth s sister, Jane, as well as her family. Collin s takes the initiative to state why he is in
want of a wife and why he thinks she would be a suitable match for him. Both men do not even try
to compliment and admire her qualities as a person; instead, both men insult Elizabeth. Though,
Darcy does say, I love you, Collins does not mention having this feeling for Elizabeth. Collins
brings up an almost scare tactic in telling Elizabeth that she might not receive another offer of

The Egyptian And Mesopotamian Civilizations
The Egyptian and Mesopotamian civilizations were both one of the oldest civilizations in the
world. They are considered by most scholarly historians and writers as the cradles of human
civilizations. In these two geographical areas, the earliest cities in the world history appeared. As
civilizations contemporary to each other, Egyptand Mesopotamia present several similarities and
contrasts. Egypt was an ancient civilizationin Northeastern Africa concentrated along the Nileriver.
It was a racially diverse place because the Nile river drew people from all over the region.
Mesopotamia (taken from the Greek meaning: Land between the rivers ) is a region and not a
country. It is the area between the Euphrates and Tigris rivers, north or northwest of Bagdad in
modern Iraq. It also extended north and east to parts of modern It was composed of Sumerians,
the Akkadians, the Babylonians, the Assyrians, the Chaldeans and to some degree the
Phoenicians. In the ancient civilizations of Mesopotamia and Egypt, religion was essential to life
and life itself was inseparable from religion. the relationship between religion and customs
governed the day to day existence of all the citizens, whatever their rank in society. Both
Mesopotamia and Egypt were governed by theocracies and their rulers were believed to lead by
divine right and guidance. However their systems reflect the different social, religious,

The Values Of The Indigenous Village Otavalo
The indigenous village Otavalo, located in Ecuador, is known for the beauty of its people and
surroundings. Situated in the highlands of the Andes mountains, it is surrounded by volcanoes,
and known for its famous market. A distinct difference from the United States is how people earn
money. Many people in the village make sweaters, blouses, and other traditional wear. They sell
their merchandise in the huge market and as a result, most people in the village are well off. They
also have more free time on their hands to be with family and friends unlike most of those who
work in the U.S.
In this small village, everybody knows everybody. OtaveleГ±os (indigenous group) have managed
to hold on to centuries old traditions without adopting a quick get dressed, here comes the tourists.
The OtaveleГ±os are proud of their culture and aren t afraid to show that. Women are seen wearing
embroidered clothing, while the norm for men are typical trousers, and a t shirt. On formal
occasions, men wear all white with a sombrero. The language that OtaveleГ±os usually use is
Spanish, but the indigenous group often uses their indigenous language Kichwa. An important
value that lies within their culture ties to their hair. In their culture, hair is sacred to them and is
typically grown out and braided. Unfortunately, social media pressures many men to cut their hair
to fit in, so when their hair grows to about twelve or thirteen inches they cut their hair off and repeat.

What Are The Four Elements Of Atmosphere
This essay will discuss the four elements of atmosphere that are used to reach out to customers.
Those elements are the following: exterior, general interior, store layout, and displays. The
combined used of these elements create a unique image that customers can identify with the store s
image and lends to what is known as visual merchandising.
The first element that contributes to a customer s perception of a store based firm is the exterior.
Planning of the exterior, has to include the store s exterior attributes which includes the storefront,
store entrances, display windows, building height, visibility, surrounding areas and stores and
parking facilities. Depending on the image that the store wishes to be perceived as these attributes
have to portray uniqueness. According to Berman and Evans, a storefront is defined as the total

it is trying to convey when all of these elements come together.
The third element that contributes to a customer s perception of a store based firm is the store
layout. There are six steps that need to be considered when planning the store s layout. These
steps are the following: allocation of store space, classification or store offerings, determination
of a traffic flow pattern, mapping our in store locations, and arrangement of individual products.

Maths Tutoring Math Research Paper
I write my personal philosophy from the perspective of a maths tutor, as I am yet to engage as a
maths teacher. Ideally, I would love to impart on my students the same love of mathematics as I
have. However, the world is rarely an ideal place.
My ethos in tutoring maths is to remove any fear the student may have in regard to mathematics
and then encourage the student to develop confidence in his or her own mathematical abilities. This
initial object without question is often extremely challenging. However, watching as a student
grows in confidence is one of the most rewarding aspects of being a maths tutor. Furthermore, the
development of mathematical confidence is catalyst for both better understanding and
achievements in the subject.
My focus with senior mathematics is giving the students strong foundations on which they can
build, in everyday life or further studies. Undoubtedly, relaxed and confident students are more
receptive to the, often challenging, content of senior mathematics. Students are strongly encouraged
to be curious and ask as many questions as they need to gain understanding. In addition, they need

Themes Of Adaptations
We may not be responsible for the world that created our minds, but we can take responsibility for
the mind with which we create our world said Gabor Mate. What does this mean? This quote is a
verbal support to some of the themes that are prevalent in psychology. One of these themes are
adaptation. Adaptations is the behavior in which something or someone learns, and inverts to carry
out through their own actions later. Take a child with an amputated leg for example. If the child
has become dependent on walking with both legs, it is going to be difficult for them to realize that
they must learn to walk with only one leg. Knowing this, the child is taught to maneuver things in
their life to successfully walk with only one leg, they must adapt... Show more content on

The students not only adapted to the living environment, they even began referring to themselves
as the numbers placed on their clothing. The amount of psychological stress they were put under
was tested to the extreme, not only for the prisoners, but for the guards as well. As for the judge,
he was adapting to both what was expected as well as what he had experienced. He became the
people of the system that he hated because the actions that were forced upon him, as he stated in
the previous quote. He was an innocent man treated as felon because of societies standards of what
a criminal looked like. This is ironic because that directly related to the students involved in the
experiment. They were innocent kids that volunteered for an experiment, not knowing what was
about to happen to them. The Stanford Prison Experiment was relevant to psychology because it
showed just how much the mind, behavior and emotions can be affected when you bring a surreal
reality into someone s life who has never had that type of exposure to the situation at hand.
Bringing these types of psychological measures into effect leads to the next topic to explore in

The Violation Of Human Rights
After reviewing the Human Rights Watch website, www.hrw.org, I decided to write my paper on
the violation of the human rights of people with disabilities. I have a passion for working with
people that have disabilities and I think so much more should be done for them. The United States
have made great strides in being respectful for their human rightsand it is time to see the rest of the
world step up and take responsibility. There is also much more needed to be done in the United
States but we have come so far. I decided to use the human rights violation of people with
disabilities because I want to work with them in the future and it is important to know what
hardships they face around the world. I need to help be a voice for them. The first article I read
about human rights with people with disabilities was titled We Need to Stop Treating People
with Disabilities as Less Than Human, by Shantha Rau Barriga. In this article, Barriga traveled
the world to speak with disabled people. She saw a five year old girl dressed in rags and chained
to a tree with chains because her family thought she was possessed. Unfortunately, this happens far
too often because people with disabilities are seen as unhuman. Often times around the world,
children with disabilities are put in institutions and sometimes takes straight from the mothers after

class citizens joined the fray (Ximenez). Nelli Mai, an unemployed 62 year old psychologist said,
the poor people had detonated something, and it was up to us in the middle class to continue and
finish it (Rohter 6).
Almost immediately, residents of middle class neighborhoods in Buenos Aires went to their
windows and began a noise protest by banging pots and pans, a traditional form of protest
throughout Latin America. Before long, their rage still unsatisfied, protesters spilled into the streets
by the thousands and began marching to the Plaza de Mayo. At the seat of government, known as
the Casa Rosada (Pink House), and on Congress and Los Olivos, the president s residence,
protesters chanted the name of their country (Rohter 6). For many it was the sound of the Argentine
Revolution.
Largely middle class demonstrators swarmed key landmarks and blocked main thoroughfares across
Buenos Aires. As protesters demanded the resignation of the unpopular de la Rua, police were
forced to clear the peaceful demonstration (Gardner 9). In the Plaza de Mayo, which has seen some
of the bloodiest and most historic moments in Argentina s rocky political past, officers swung
batons, fired rubber bullets and tear gas, and aimed water cannon (see illustration 1) on the throngs
of demonstrators besieging the Casa Rosada.

Intercultural Communication Essay
Communication can be performed through the utilisation of languages, such as English. Presently,
English has become a favourable and prominent tool for interaction among people of different
cultural backgrounds. The high demand in acquiring English for fields such as international
politics, science and technology has led to the global spread of the language. Consequently, English
is recognised as an international language, and its ownership is considered to be denationalised and
renationalised. The understanding of this ownership status is crucial in establishing an effective
practice of intercultural communication, by acknowledging the variations of English and cultural
differences in communication styles within classroom and business contexts.
First, since English has become an international language, its ownership is regarded as
denationalised and renationalised. The concept of denationalisation proposed by Smith suggests
that English is no longer just owned by countries such as the United Kingdom and the United States,
but by various other countries around the world that also use the language. Kachru also argued that
a global English should not only be restricted to the official use by colonial countries of the United
Kingdom and the United States, and it is not a necessity to internalise the native speakers norms. It
is said that the process of denationalisation results in renationalisation, in which, according to
McKay, involves English localisation the

Violence And The Second Intifada
CHAPTER 4 Violence and the Second Intifada
The second or al Aqsa intifada began the day after Ariel Sharon s visit to the Dome of the Rock
or al Aqsa mosque complex in Jerusalem in late September 2000. Palestinian demonstrators and
worshipers were fired upon, sparking the ongoing uprising. This intifada differed from the first.
While the first intifada was democratic, involving widespread participation, was secular, basically
non violent, and contributed to peace efforts, this intifada was characterized by participation of a
few, the use of violence against civilians and military alike, and widespread religious idioms. It
decreased allies of the Palestinians among the Israelis and in the west. Where protesters in Israel

It also indicates that they are changing their ideology to align more effectively with
contemporary social and political pressures. Welcoming and celebrating the actions of female
bombers serves a purpose that the same support of men s actions would not fulfill: making the

a bomb in Israel while a man would be only mentioned in passing, then it is very worthwhile to
the Palestinian cause to use women to facilitate as much publicity and promotion of political
goals as possible. Bloom maintains that this is a political war, not a religious war, and the suicide
bombings are being carefully planned and executed as part of a precise political strategy. The
usage of women is a definite part of this strategy, whether they are participating through their own

Saint Francis Of Assisi Research Paper
When something extraordinary is done by God in the Old Testament, he often changes the person s
name as a sign. So, in Catholic tradition, there are many life changing situations when a person
takes on a new name in addition or in place of the old one. Confirmation is one of these life
changing events, and, as per tradition, one who finishes confirmation chooses a patron saintto fill
this name. I, Darwin Diaz, have chosen the patron saint of animals and ecology, Saint Francis of

Saint Francis of Assisi is the right patron saint for me.
Francis of Assisi was one of seven children born in late 1181 or early 1182 to Pietro di

Amelia Earhart s childhood was full of adventure. She was born on July 24th (Earhart, Amelia) in

The primary aim of this project is to keep VPN safe which also means keeping our information

users and the organizations providing this service till date but the research carried on by NTA

attractive targets for the hackers. There are many flaws in VPN services which can give a hacker,

Linda Burton Court Case Summary
A continuing contract fifth grade teacher, Linda Burton, in Pine County Florida, was dismissed
from her teaching position after the school board claimed she was guilty of behaving immorally
and was found incompetent. In the summer months of 2015, Burton was said to have gone on an
alcohol binge, during which she separated from her husband. Burton was involved in a
confrontation with two local Sherriff deputies. The deputies later brought her to a mental facility to
observe her behaviors, since she was apparently found to be a danger to herself or others, based on
the Baker Act. She was later charged with drunken disorderly conduct, to which Burton pled nolo

Her criminal record was completely expunged, or erased, after Burton completed a rehabilitation

Philosophy of Behaviorism
Philosophy of Behaviorism
Tammie Williams
Columbia College
Abstract
For hundreds of years there has been a fascination on how humans behave and how humans learn.
This has been observed and studied by psychologists, educators, and scientists by means of humans
and animals and how they perform in different environments. This fascination is known as
behaviorism. This aspect of behaviorism deals with how a humans or animals respond to a certain
stimuli and how a new behavior is then developed. This paper will address the philosophy of
behaviorism, the great contributors to behaviorism and their aspects of behavioral learning such as
classical conditioning and operant conditioning.

Psychoanalysis is a school of thought that was founded by Sigmund Freud. This theory focuses on
that behavior is influenced by the unconscious mind. Freud felt that the human mind was made up
of three elements which include the id, the ego, and the superego. Eric Erikson, Carl Jung, and
Anna Freud were also psychoanalysis thinkers. Humanistic psychology was developed as a
response to behaviorism and psychoanalysis. Individual free will, self actualization and personal
growth were focused on by humanistic psychology. Carl Rogers and Abraham Maslow were
amongst the major humanistic psychology thinkers. Gestalt psychology is based upon that people
experience things as unified wholes. This approach started in the late 19th century in Austria and
Germany. This approach was a response to molecular approach of structuralism (Cherry, 2005).
Gestalt psychologists felt things must be looked at as a whole rather than breaking the thought
down. They believed that a whole is more than just the sum of its parts. Cognitive psychology is a
school of thought which studies the mental process including how we remember, think, perceive,
and learn. Philosophy, neuroscience, and linguistics are disciplines that are related to this branch of
psychology. The stages of cognitive development theory by Jean Piaget were amongst the most
influential theories from cognitive psychology.

Feminism In English Literature
INDIAN FEMINISM IN LITERATURE
ABSTRACT
The Indian society believes that men have the facility and cultural hegemony in the group. A odd
feature of the Indian action is that men defend maleness and deem women not manly which is not
basically human. Women are marginalised through cultural institutions and religious rituals.
Feminist movements have been maddening for removal of this marginalisation. The hermetic
salutation of feminism in the 1960s and 1970s helped theorize a girl s discourse. A feministically
right to use text can gain to a better covenant of the woman s condition Feminism in Indian
English literature is focused so many years back. Feminism refers to the support of women s right.
This right is to remove gender discrimination and gives equal status to female in society. From the
early period to modern period women writers presents the theme to highlight women issues in
society. It goes on developing its content time to time. It starts with suppression of women and
slowly comes to revolt of women. Feminism in India is a set of movements bearing in mind the
direct of defining establishing and defending diplomatic and socio economical rights and equal
opportunities for Indian women. Like the feminists of new countries in India too the women be

German Expressionism and Dadaism
German Expressionism and Dadaism Introduction Revolutionary forms of art have dominated much
of Germany, apparently as a reaction to the First World War. The era in which the First World War
took place throughout the 1910s, featured artists coming together against what they think the
pointless aggression said major conflict brought. German artists, in particular, protested against the
social structures prevalent during the 1910s, within which the social structures of the Second Reich
were prevalent. German society initially saw film, in particular, as quite an inelegant alternative to
the bourgeoisie associated theater. Such is due to the inability of the domestic film industry in

Wiene, Janowitz and Mayer portrayed through The Cabinet of Doctor Caligari their notion that the
German war effort that time was a highly grotesque one complete with mind controlling
propaganda and objections against dying in the name of German imperial dominance, with the
intent to shock audiences with the highly macabre features of the film. In contrast to the
propaganda promotion agenda of Germany during the 1910s, which stood as the reason for
banning foreign film importation in the nation, The Cabinet of Doctor Caligari serves as a
groundbreaking example of Expressionism that time a complete opposite of German government
propaganda due to its shockingly subjective anti government message (Kellner 3 39; Kracauer 61

of Doctor Caligari was an undermining factor to the expressionist nature of the film. Such is
perhaps due to the ascendancy of the fear and anxiety factor imbued within The Cabinet of Doctor
Caligari, which is supposed to provoke the emotions of audiences. After all, it is the main point of
expressionist art to subject audiences to emotionally provoking scenes, which in turn reflect the
subjective views of artists. Therefore, one could note that the narrative frame in The Cabinet of

Waterfall Methodology Essay
Choosing a proper method for software design is completely depended upon the requirements and
end products of the company. These requirements and goals might change in the process of
development of software depending upon the decisions of stakeholders, developers and system
analysts.
Waterfall life cycle model and Agile methodology are the methods to implement and develop
software. The initial methodology used by company is Waterfall methodology consists of
sequential steps for the designing of software. One can predict cost, duration and requirements of
the project in this method. This method is primarily used when organization knows what the end
product of the project is. Proper planning is required before the start of the project.
But there are some disadvantages of waterfall methodology. One major disadvantage is that
developers cannot go back to the previous step once they have completed the step. If the project
requirements are not satisfied initially then there might be a chance of project failure. It might also
cost budget issues as well as more duration to complete the project. If developers want to make
certain changes in the code of project in between then they again need to start from the beginning to
write the code.
To overcome these disadvantages of waterfall model, Agile methodology is designed. This
methodology uses incremental approach unlike waterfall model which uses sequential steps to
develop software. Incremental approach means processing and testing

Fossil Lagerstätten
A Fossil Lagerstätten is an undisturbed fossil accumulation in which fossils are exceptionally
preserved. There are two types of fossil lagerstätten: Concentration Lagerstätten (Konzentrat

Lagerstätten are deposits of an immense number of preserved fossils, whereas Conservation
Lagerstätten are the preservation of fossils in terms of quality rather than quantity (Nudds and
Selden, 2008). There might be few fossils in the rock strata, however, the preservation of these
are exemplary. There are many outcropping areas on Earth in which fossils are preserved like this.

The Key Features Of Stuttering
Key Features of Stuttering
Stuttering is a speech disorder that occurs when the fluency of speech is involuntarily interrupted
(Belyk et al., 2014). According to scientific literature, typical symptoms of stuttering include
prolongations of speech sounds, sound and syllable repetition, fast tempo, lengthy pauses, intrusion
of irrelevant sounds, the use of interjections, and physical signs of struggle (Andrade et al., 2014).
Additionally, stutterers can develop secondary behaviours including negative perceptions leading to
avoidance of certain social situations (Maguire et al., 2004). Negative emotional responses can
cause debilitating cognitive and social impacts (Andrade et al., 2014). Stuttering typically develops

Additionally, Watson is male and his mild condition presented itself in childhood. Despite the trend
for spontaneous recovery, Watson has yet to experience partial or complete recovery. Overall, many
of the typical symptoms of stuttering are present in Watson s case.
Aetiology
Despite the intensive efforts in the scientific community, the aetiology of stuttering remains largely
unknown. Suspected factors of influence include dopamine hyperactivity, disordered sensory
feedback, linguistic deficits, anticipation of speech difficulties, generalized motor deficits, speech
specific motor deficits, environmental factors, and genetic factors (Max et al., 2004). Currently, it
is widely agreed upon that genetic factors have a substantial role in the aetiology of stuttering.
Studies in twins have shown an increased rate of stuttering in monozygotic twins than in dizygotic
twins 77% prevalence versus 32% prevalence (Felsenfeld et al., 2000). In addition to genetic
factors, environmental factors include birth events, traumas or illnesses, stress, and peer influences
(Felsenfeld et al., 2000).
On the contrary, Michaela believes that both genetics and environment play a rather minimal role in
stuttering. Scientific literature suspects that genetics have a profound influence on stuttering.

Notre Dame Analysis
Notre Dame Football was on the rise after a 12 1 season then going 9 4 in the 2012 2013 seasons.
They had their Quarterback from their 12 1 season coming back and they were loaded. Head
Coach, Brian Kelly had players believing in themselves and the pieces were being put together. But
Notre Dame has high standards for their Academics and some pieces fell out.
In this article, you see that Brian Kelly respects the high standards at Notre Dame. Players have
tons on their plate and have to come through on the football field and in the classroom. The article
proves that Notre Dame is very prestigious and when you want to win at Notre it s tough to get the
best athletes. Notre Dame after the 12 1 season finished third overall in recruiting. ... Show more

I know that Notre Dame is one of the best academically. But it is tough to get the best players
who don t have the brightest minds. This article gives you in depth talk from Brian Kelly and
how handled it very smoothly. The players will be able to fight it and try to get back on the
team. As a Notre Dame fan, it is, tough to see these players that could have done something
special for the team be kicked out. The thing is you have to follow the rules and be truthful in
your academics. This isn t the primary time a member of the football team has been connected
to alleged educational improprieties. Quarterback Everett Golson, a key member of the team
that went successfully within the 2012 regular season and lost the BCS national championship
game to Alabama, was asked to leave because he cheated on a test. He was suspended for the
autumn semester. Golson did take the year off but came back for the 2014 season. The article
goes on to integrity and being honest. This is Notre Dame and it is embarrassing for people to
see and hear about this. Notre Dame cares way more about academics than for football. Notre
Dame is one of the best universities and has a tradition all around their campus. These kids are
blessed with the top teachers and tutors. The main thing is as a student you have to be, honest and

The United States Of America And Spain Essay
The late 1800s was a high tension and tumultuous time for both the United States of America and
Spain. Spanish Colonialism had long been receding from its once powerful stronghold in the 16th
and 17th centuries, and in the 1890s, the United States would make certain to diminish the last of
Spain s outlets. The precedent for the American, superpower perspective of the late 1800s is in
large part due to President James Monroe s Doctrine establishing the United Statesas the sole entity
of social, political, and economic interest in the Western Hemisphere. The Monroe Doctrine clearly
spells out that any territorial advances (or in this case, any territorial claims, whatsoever) would be
recognized as an act of aggression and the U.S. would act accordingly (hint, hint war). This
document shaped the United States as the sole enforcer of both commerce and democracy in the
Western Hemisphere in the minds of its constituents. Thusly, it is the least bit unusual to see
President McKinley asking to declare war against the Spanish in defense of his country s interest.
President William McKinleys Declaration of War is written to the Congress of the United States as
a plea to go to war in defense of American interests and the Cuban people. The document was
written in 1898, and its objective was simple: persuade Congress to allow him to declare war.
Although the document may shape William McKinley as a strong proponent of the now called
Spanish American War, he very much wished to

Essay On Theo s Chocolate
The Business of Chocolate When looking at both companies websites, it is easy to tell which
company is the largest chocolate manufacturer North America and which is the smaller company
that got its start just under 10 years ago solely based on the style and design of the website. The
first thing the eye is drawn to on Hershey s website is large picture of two s mores stacked on top
of each other with headline reading, Sharing S mores Makes Summer Delicious . Making s mores
usually indicates a bonfire with family or friends and having fun. As one clicks though the tabs that
include recipes, crafts, videos, and even a tab for s more themselves, focusing on the fact that it

Theo s Chocolate has a completely different message. They are an organic and fair trade life
bean to bar chocolate factory . Theo s message is about making the world a better place, starting
with chocolate that is organic, non GMO, and uses fair trade. Both Hershey s Chocolate and
Theo s Chocolate have a story and mission. Hershey s mission has to do with children and
education. Hershey Industrial School was started by Hershey and his wife for orphan boys but
is now known as The Milton Hershey School which is a cost free, private school for lower
income families. Theo s mission is completely different as they are focusing on the wellbeing of
the earth and the people who live here. Both companies also use brown in their websites and also
offer tours. Hershey s website had more tabs and information probably because Hershey is a larger
company and much more well known. Also, when visiting Hershey, Pennsylvaniayou cannot go
into the actual chocolate factory but they are an amusement park, garden, and Chocolate World,
which is a place to experience the making of chocolate. It is estimated that over

Wayne Williams Thesis Statement
Wayne Williams was born on May 27th, 1958 to Homer and Faye Williams of Atlanta, Georgia.
He graduated from Douglass High School and furthered his education at Georgia State
University, but later dropped out to explore a new talent. Williams took a specific interest in
music, pursuing a career in radio and managing a band. Williams educational background and
career both were pivotal to his defense. In 1979, children and teens seemed to simple vanish.
Each child met certain criteria: young, black, and from Atlanta. The first two victims, Edward
Smith and Alfred Evans, who were both 14 years old, disappeared four days apart in June. Both
of their bodies were found close together in a remote, wooded area of South Atlanta one month
later. Nine year old Yusuf Bell went missing on October 21st, 1979 and his body was recovered
November 8th of the same year. Police did not connect the dots with Bell s murderbecause he was
fully clothed, found in a remote area, but was strangled to death, unlike Smith and Evans, who
were shot with a .22 caliber. Williams next alleged victim, 12 year old Angel Lenair, was also
strangled. She was found in an abandoned lot, fully clothed, with child underwear stuffed in her
mouth.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The racial tension and confession of KKK members surrounding the murder are also very
suspicious. Were the confessions thoroughly investigated? Witnesses of many of the child
murders also note two black men, not one. It is very hard to believe that only one person acted
alone to plan, kidnap, and murder all 30 victims of a two year span. If Williams was guilty, should
it have been more evidence and convicted of more than just two murders? I am unsure if Wayne
Williams committed these crimes, due to the lack of evidence, the ease of the trial, and biological

National Football Game Analysis
The modern National Football League, more commonly known as the NFL, has been around
since 1924. It consists of thirty two teams, spread out in eight divisions inside two conferences,
the AFC and the NFC. The season is relatively short, with only sixteen regular season games.
Only twelve teams make the playoffs, with four receiving a first round bye. The third round, the
AFC and NFC Championships, determine who will play in the Superbowl for a chance at a
winning title and glory. The games are single elimination, and thus if a team hopes to win the Vince
Lombardi trophy at the Superbowl, it is imperative they win every game after the regular season
finishes. On January 18th, 2015, the New England Patriots faced off against the visiting Indianapolis

Even though DeflateGate was still a key issue in the league, Brady was still out for the first four
games of the year, forcing the Patriots to use rookie quarterbacks (Bedard 66). Jimmy Garoppolo,
a second round pick in the 2014 draft, was expected to start the first four games, putting massive
pressure on him and the Patriots defensive line to increase their performances (Bedard 66). Bedard
writes that under Brady, the Patriots defense and offence both finished in the top ten among all
NFL teams in 2015, setting the bar very high for their backup quarterbacks. All these disadvantages
given to the Patriots brought Goodell s reputation into question, and even though Goodell got to
punish Brady, he may have caused his image harm by continuing to fight for his punishment to be
accepted. A federal judge, when Brady presented his formal legal appeal, concluded that Goodell s
punishment was outside his power, seeing as The NFL had a punishment for tampering with game
equipment, and it wasn t a particularly large one: a fine of $25,000. Instead, Goodell ended up
fining the Patriots $1 million, taking two draft picks. And then on top of that, he suspended Brady,
even though the NFL s manual prescribes a team punishment rather than a player punishment
(Sherman). The judge decides, It is clear that the arbitrator must

Constraints Of Empire
Nationalism equals political and economic modernization [which] which really ends up being a
perverse trick. This equation serves to mobilize popular forces and galvanize a social movement,
but where does the movement lead and what interest does it serve? In most cases it involves a
delegated struggle, in which the modernization project also establishes in power the new ruling
group that is charged with carrying it out. The revolution is thus offered up, hands and feet bound,
to the new bourgeoisie (Hardt 133).
In essence, it is often merely the face of power that changes, and not actually the structures that
make up and uphold oppression.
The new nation created by liberation must still contend with the world orders in which it finds itself,

Appiah largely makes arguments about what is considered right, or the different ways in which
cultures should respond to certain practices. Hardt and Negri, on the other hand present an analysis
that is, for the most part, amoral. They make observations about habits and trends within the
shifting power of political and economic conditions, though their analysis is suffused with disdain
for the system as they currently see it. Appiah makes historical observations about cultural
interaction, honor, and respect that he then extrapolates to the practices of a modern culture which
he considers to be immoral. Hardt and Negri, on the other hand, focus on more post colonial
political and economic conditions and seek to determine a pattern of causes and intermingling
influences, while decrying an observed system of subtle subjugation and

International Finance, Exchange Rates And Also Balance Of...
In this paper I will be going over and discussing what international finance, exchange rates and
also balance of payments. I will be talking about what they are, what they do, and how they
affect us an economy and country. I will be discussing the basic definitions, and the basic
concepts of their duties. First I will be going over international finance and the role it plays in our
daily lives. Then I will discuss the price differences between items in the United States and
Germany. I will add and compare them together. I will also go over what the concept balance of
payments are.
International Finance International finance is defined the study of international monetary
economics, which involve the interaction of international transactions. (Investopedia, 2015) These
transactions consist of factors, such as national income, money and prices. The international
monetary system is made up of institutions, international organizations, governments, and private
economic entities that all participate in the exchange of financial assets worldwide. (Smith, 2012)
With international trade, international finance is the result of the fact that economic activity is
affected by the existence of nations. If there weren t any national economies, then we would not
have this field. If we didn t have international trade, we would not need international finance.
Countries do trade with each other. Some countries, not all but many of them use their own
currencies we have to wonder about how

Big Brother s Use Of Mind Control In 1984 By George Orwell
Mind control is something people have done for a long time. Over the years mind control has
been used to take over an individual s mental state and to make them believe in a false reality. In
George Orwell s, 1984, Big Brother used mind control to alter everyone s point of view. The main
two types of mindcontrol that they used were, fear induced and hypnosis. To begin, Big Brother
controlled people by inducing fear. The induced fear made them scared to act out. As the following
statement says, Changes in emotional state are known to alter neuronal excitability and can modify
learning and memory formation (Liu 1). The statement explains how inducing fear can change the
way a person acts. In the book, Big Brother watched every move and... Show more content on

Hypnosis is the state of consciousness in which a person apparently loses the power of
voluntary action and is highly responsive to suggestion or direction. Big Brother used hypnosis
to make everyone believe in a false reality that they could not wake up from. In the book it states,
Until they become conscious they will never rebel, and until after they have rebelled they
cannot become conscious (Orwell 70). The statement reveals that everybody is in such a strong
trance that they will never wake up. Later on in the book when Winston is talking to O Brien, O
Brien says, We control matter because we control the mind (Orwell 265). This shows that Big
Brother uses hypnosis to control everyone s minds. In the book, 1984, Big Brother also uses
hypnosis to make a person turn against someone and make them lose the feelings they once had
for somebody. The following textual evidence says, Do it to Julia! Do it to Julia! Not me! Julia!
I don t care what you do to her. Tear her face off, strip her to the bones. Not me! Julia! Not me
(Orwell 286). The quote is said by Winston who is talking about his former lover Julia after they
have both been tortured and hypnotized by Big Brother because they broke his rules. The
secondary source states, Hypnosis has been used to reinforce the effects of mental imagery or to
overcome the mental discomfort associated with injury (Dittrich 2). The statement explains how
hypnosis is used to make people forget about what happened to them. Big Brother did this to
Winston after he finished torturing him and made him forget about Julia. Quoted from the book,
But it was all right, everything was all right, the struggle was finished. He had won the victory
over himself. He loved Big Brother (Orwell 298). The quote shows that Big Brother had finally
hypnotized Winston into believing in his ways. It is clear that hypnosis is one of the biggest forms

Bradwell V. Illinois Case Study
The 1873 court case Bradwell v. Illinois is an example of structure contributing to gender
formation. Myra Bradwell was a woman who had extensive law training and was qualified to
practice law. However, when she applied for a license to practice law, the court refused. The
court argued that, while she was extremely qualified to practice law, granting her a license would
disrupt the idea that men and women were supposed to occupy different spheres of action, and that
it belonged to men to make, apply, and execute the laws (23) because women were unfit for civil
life. Not only did this ruling affect gender formations in Illinois, it also set a precedent for similar
court cases in other states. The Court s ruling in Bradwell v. Illinois is unjust because it strengthens
the structure that oppresses... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This court ruling shows contradiction in many ways. First, the fourteenth amendment states that no
State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges and immunities of citizens
of the United States (23). The Court acknowledges this, but justifies their ruling by saying that God
had created women and men to have different jobs, and that the law of God was that the paramount
destiny and mission of woman are to fulfil the noble and benign offices of wife and mother (24). In
this argument, the Court bases their refusal of her license on the gender hierarchy that exists
biologically rather than gender inequality. However, justifying their decision with religion
contradicts the idea that the Supreme Court should be secular in its rulings. This argument is also a
contradiction to the fourteenth amendment because regardless of its justifications, it restricts a
woman s right to practice law legally. While this ruling appears to be unjust to many, the court
believed that they were just. They believed that this ruling benefits the public good because not

The Weeknd Biography
When I talk about The Weeknd, I already feel proud. He comes from Toronto. He comes from
my city. What The Weeknd did in 2011 needs to be recognized and not just because I say so, it
needs to be recognized because this was the moment Toronto started a growing movement that
can be felt today, but it really started in late December of 2010. Because in late December of
2010, three songs were uploaded by The Weeknd and these songs were Loft Music, What You
Need and The Morning. 3 months later, The Weeknd would go on to drop his critically acclaimed
House Of Balloons mixtape. The first tape in a three part trilogy. Now, after rigorous research, we

called Thursday. At this point, The Weeknd had given away 18 tracks through both tapes. There
was even a Drake feature. Drake and The Weeknd were the sound in Toronto all throughout
2011. The Weeknd would then give us another tape. Now an artist of his caliber at this point
could have clearly charged for these tapes, but he didn t. And because of this, he built a huge,
cult following and then he gave us the last part of the trilogy. The Weeknd had given us 27 songs
through three mixtapes in a span of 9 months. All of this free. People would think of this as
being crazy. How can you make money this way? Why didn t he try to capitalize? For The
Weeknd, It wasn t about the money. That s why he protected his privacy until he had to show

Being Too Brilliant Is Dangerous
Sometimes being too brilliant is dangerous. Herman Mudgett lived a normal childhood, for the
most part, but he also did things your average child wouldn t do. He had an impressive college
education, although it lead to him committing insurance fraud and the stealing of corpses. After
moving to Chicago, he continued the fraud and began the homicides. He had many girlfriends and
wives, women tended to fall for his charm, which lead to their death. Henry H. Holmes did terrible
things, from tricking people to killing them, but the intelligence behind his actions is what kept him
from getting caught for so many years. Herman Webster Mudgett was born on May 16, 1861 in
Gilmanton, New Hampshire. As a child, Herman was bullied, at one point being forced to touch a
skeleton in a doctor s office (hhholmes.weebly.com). Herman was very intelligent from a young
age. He began to dissect both living and dead animals. After graduating high school, Herman went
to the University of Vermont to study medicine. He then transferred to the University of
Michigan, because he was interested in their human dissection program. Holmes and his friend
Benjamin Pitizel conducted a plan to collect insurance money from fake family members.
Holmes stole bodies from his medical school. He was accused by the school of stealing bodies,
but there was no solid evidence against the accusation (History.com). When he finished medical
school he went to New York to be a doctor s apprentice. He was presented

Ethical Dilemma And Ethical Dilemmas
Ethical dilemma (ED) can emanate from any perspective of our lives be in the personal or
professional front. An ED is a decision making problem between two or more undesirable
outcomes (Marquis Huston, 2015). As a case manager (CM), I find myself facing it on a daily
basis, due to a responsibility to multiple stakeholders such as the employer, insurance, physician,
and of course, the patient s well being should be the priority. Below is an example of an ED.
Mr. Z is a 21 year old male, Hispanic male, undocumented, with two sisters living in Texas. Due
to an unfortunate event, he was a victim of a hit and run from a motor vehicular accident. He
sustained spinal cord injury and multiple organ injuries that made him paralyzed from the neck
down and dependent on a ventilator. The patient was able to assign one of his sisters to be his
medical power of attorney prior to coding twice and eventually lose his capacity to make a
decision. The family was aware of the patient s medical condition and prognosis of possibly living
for six months. In addition, the family declined a do not resuscitate order and to make him a
hospice candidate. The CM was unable to find a facility that will accept him due to his illegal status
and inability to get him funded. The family has no means to provide financial assistance, even when
offered, that the hospital will pay for the ventilator, provide nursing visits and respiratory visits,
still declined citing an inability to provide 24 hours

  • 2. Baby Igneous Rocks Research Paper Volcano eruptions bring newborn rocks to the world. Every year, rock families would wait around volcanos for the erupted magma or surface lava to cool down. Each family would adopt the baby igneous rocks of their type, who share the same genes, or minerals, as them. These igneous rocks could have a variety of appearance and crystal sizes. Some rocks composed of surface lava have smaller, less complex crystalline structures. They were cooled much faster when they were in contact with air or water, and larger, more complex crystalline structure would not be formed before they harden. On the adoption day, all kinds of rocks could be spotted; with different lustre, colour, crystalline structure, and mineral composition. As baby igneous rocks ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Pet Store Animals Satire Hello everyone, my name is Katrina Clark. So, imagine one day you were ripped away from your family and from your home with nowhere to go, in the street, cold, starving, and have absolutely no idea where your next meal is going to come from. Well, for over 7 million animals each year that is the sad reality. I personally own around ten cats that were either from a shelter or on the street starving. I also own two dogs that I have found on the road that had been dumped and left to die. My experience with adopting these animals has truly opened my eyes to how many animals are truly in need of homes. All of these animals are sweet blessings that I wouldn t trade for the world. If I can find loving furry friends that I love, then so can you. With... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The sad reality is that there are too many homeless pets than there ones with loving homes to care for them. Also according to humane society.org, 2.7 million adoptable cats and dogs are euthanized in the United States simply because too many pets come into shelters and too few people consider adoption when looking for a pet. When you adopt, you not only save a life, but you also free up a cage for another desperate animal to be adopted. By adopting, your money goes towards spay and neutering, pet education, running the shelter, and also puts an end to cruel puppy and kitten mills, which saves countless more animals by doing ... • 4. My First Love Is Doing Business My first love was doing business. With my family operating a restaurant when I was a child, I unconsciously learned how to run an operation and deal with customers within the business surroundings. It would be easy to trace its origins back to my mother, who was a restaurant manager, and while she definitely encouraged me, I had a natural drive to unlock the power of doing business, which gave me a lens through which to view the world around me. During the summer of my junior year in high school, I hosted my first charity bazaar, a charity sale for self customized T shirts for a local orphanage that sponsored by my high school. Given much advance publicity, I did well at the sale, making over $100 in an hour. That accomplishment made me realize my passion toward marketingand motivated me to pursue a Bachelor degree in Business Management during my undergraduate studies. When I enrolled at Case Western Reserve University (CWRU), marketing was my core interest: it has provided numerous opportunities for hands on experience from class projects, such as predictive analytics with software like SPSS and Tableau, and strategic case analysis with marketing tools like SWOT and Porter s five force. In addition, with my supporting minor in psychology, I also gain a psychological perspective and deeply understand how customers are attracted to, and persuaded to, purchase merchandise as well as how companies build lasting relationships with those customers. Besides, after taking a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. The African-American Community One of the main issues that America has continued to ignore is the problems within the African American community. Many children within the African American community fail to get the necessary leadership from their respective parents. That lack of leadership generally occurs from the absence pf a father figure in the household. Reason may be because of a father being imprisoned for whatever reason, or the father being killed by law enforcement illegally. Thus, the more impressionable minds within the community commit illegal activities to get recognition from their peers. Indeed, these people should be punished for their acts by law enforcement. What the African American community needs are not police enforcement in the citizens daily... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Self accountability consists of someone being willing to own responsibly or to account for their actions in a responsible manner. Rather than owning up to the wrongdoing committed it is common for those in the African American community to give up and only rely on drug abuse to get from day to day. The rate of recurrent alcoholism among African Americans is 35.4 percent, versus 33 percent among Hispanics and 22.8 percent among whites. (Sunrise House, Winter). A lot alike alcohol when the African Americanuser uses other drugs like, cocaine, crack, marijuana, and other drugs they are also more likely to get addicted to that as well. As stated by, Gil Scott Heron, The revolution will not go better with coke. The revolution will not fight the germs that may cause bad breath. The revolution will put you in the driver s seat (The Revolution Will). The artist clearly is informing the listener of the song to clearly not become a statistic by also intaking drugs, instead be different become the change that is needed inside of the African American community. Staying drug and alcohol free only can only keep a person at their respective levels of natural intelligence. Whereas constant drug use and alcohol use can only lead to ones decline in ... • 6. Ancient Wonders of the World The ancient wonders of the world are seven such sights that were constructed around the first and second century but do not exist in the present day. During the fourth century, the Greeks had conquered sufficient land in Persia, Egypt and Babylon which gave writers access to travel these areas freely. The Greek writers would note down any interesting sights that they saw and would make lists of them, and although today, we see these seven wonders as just one list, in reality, there were several lists of monuments and sights as a whole on all the lists, but the ones that were common on most are considered to be the world s ancient wonders. The oldest of the ancient wonders is the Great Pyramid of Giza. It is believed by historians that this pyramid was built for Pharaoh Khufu and took about 20 years for its construction to be concluded in 2560 BC. Records show that it is 756 feet long on each side and its vertical height is 450 feet tall. Around a hundred thousand slaves were employed and 2,300,000 blocks were used, one block being heavy to the extent that 112 men would be needed to lift just one individual block. The interior architecture of the pyramid consists of three chambers, one being for the King, the other for the Queen and one being a Grand Gallery. The pyramid s entrance is 17 meters above ground level from where there is a descending passage continued by an ascending passage several meters later. This pyramid is the only ancient wonder which is largely intact ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

To do this many protested publicly and used peace to try to persuade other s thoughts. All of these people were very influential during the time of the war. • 8. The Preservation Of Life In Solitude By Henry D. Thoreau The preservation of nature is a very important topic in today s society. Everywhere from popular media to politics, it is an often debated topic that if not taken seriously, it could mean the end of nature, no, of life itself. Human beings although not always considered directly a part of nature, in reality, are an integral composition of natureitself. However, mankind throughout the centuries has wounded and destroyed nature. If viewed from a broader spectrum, they have been destroying themselves. War, advancements in civilization, industrialization, and many more human developments have brought nature life itself to the brink of annihilation. Nature is not only the home of the wildlife that inhabit it, but has been man s home from their... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Human beings have been blinded by modern society and its greed and thirst for power through war. War and greed only causes unjustified damage to nature, life itself, and should be stopped. It is not necessary for every human being to desert the comfort of their modern society and go live in the wilderness. However, measures should be established to preserve and protect nature from monetary greed; the unjustified elimination of Earths landscapes for profit driven means. There should always be limits to deter the further destruction of our lands. Weapons capable of committing mass destruction to nature should also be limited in their use and production; they not only kill nature, but kill living beings including humans as well. If reasonable measures to preserve and protect nature from warfare and greed can be established, at least to diminish the destruction caused, nature can go on and be enjoyed by every individual now and ... Slavery in Oroonoko ENL 4230 Dr. Oliver Oroonoko The Ultimate Slave Narrative: Women and Their Masters Aphra Behn presents us with an extensive parody in her novel Oroonoko: a complete slave narrative, depicting the enslavement of both man and woman. She uses historical fact as well as semi anthropologically accurate setting to reveal the truth in her words. Historically speaking, women were slaves for centuries before the white man enslaved the black man. Women were bartered and sold into marriage, abuses and forced to work under the watchful eyes of her husband. Aphra Behn demonstrates this though Imoinda s character development, or lack thereof. The fact that this is considered a historically accurate text validates the reality of the issue... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, once the slave market opened up and expanded, slaves became the major commodities: being a white slave owner developed into the very definition of wealth and prestige, of class and sophistication. Slave women became fetishes for white slave owners. Hegemony is defined as the dominance and influence of one social class over others. As Raymond Williams puts it, hegemony is a concept which at once includes and goes beyond two powerful earlier concepts: that of culture as a whole social process , in which men define and shape their [and those which they control, i.e. women] whole lives; and that of ideology , in any of its Marxist senses, in which a system of meanings and values is the expression or projection of a particular class [white European wealthy male] interest (108). Subsequently, the needs of this hegemony, this ideology plus, defines the commodities of the time. A commodity is a product of value and use, separate from a service. In other words, the individual ho provides the service, is technically, a commodity. The predominant social class being that of the wealthy white European male, this hegemony, is then capable deciding what is acceptable in society and what is not. In a capitalist s society, Imoinda s place became that of a commodity. In a consumerist s society, Imoinda s place became that of a fetish, every man capable ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This is how it was for the House of Tudor in 16th Century England. The people included in this royal family are Henry VIII, Edward I, Lady Jane Grey, Mary I, and Elizabeth I. The House of Tudor, the ruling family of 16th Century England, was an influential ruling family whether it was positive or negative, most of the time it was negative though. Tudor history is complicated with many interwoven stories. Owen Tudor is the first of the known Tudors. He was a welsh adventurer; he fought in a war where Henry V was beheaded. The first ruler after Henry VIII died was his son, Edward VII. He was a child when he was crowned at Westminster. Henry VIII tried not to crown Edward as a child, but he failed. Edward was very close with his stepmother, Katherine Parr, Elizabeth, his sister, and Mary, his other sister. Edward made many protestant laws during his rule. When Edward died he didn t want Mary I to rule so he made his cousin, Lady Jane Grey, ruler. Lady Jane Grey was the second ruler of England. Lady Jane Grey was made queen but only ruled for nine days. She is also known as the nine day queen. Jane married Guildford Dudley as a child. The Dudleys knew about what the king chose to do and they only had Guilford marry her so they could be royalty. After Jane was made queen, she realized their plan and told Guildford she would never make him king, but only a duke. He ran out and Jane realized she had to make him king because she had to have an heir. Mary overthrew Jane and became queen. Mary was the third ruler of kids. Mary became ruler at age 37. She was neglected as a child because not many of Henry s wives liked her. She was Catholic rather than protest and because her mom would be the queen if Henry hadn t divorced her mom. Personally the turbocharging option is the way which would work better in my opinion TMD tuning offer a vast range of solutions which may increase indicated power, such as turbocharging options boost modules, etc. . . . Turbo technics technology offer a Hybrid Turbo for the Land rover Defender 2200cc engine which produces more torque over a wider range compared to the original turbo unit the power produced is moderately enhanced, this offers better driveability and gives the engine better responses to which the Defender 90 feels more effective at off roading and handles considerably better with the right setup for the road. The 2200cc puma engine is a good four cylinder engine which offers a good torque output and replaces the TD5 Lump which in comparison seem to have the similar engine output figures, but the TD5 is not as responsive personally as the TDCI 4 Cylinder Puma engine. The parameters which are chosen diameter of the exhaust manifold, diameter of the pipe at the turbine exit, efficiency of the turbocharger, location of the turbo charger and the packaging is also a major ... KEITH GOAD LIBERTY UNIVERSITY NOVEMBER 05, 2013 As a result of increased corruption in the Catholic Church, a significant number of priests in the 16th century tried to transform Christianity back to its previous Biblical basis and simplicity. Initially, priests channeled much of their efforts in reforming the church, but they discovered that it was very challenging, and the only viable solution was to split completely from the Catholic Church . There were four movements as a result of the reformation events. They include the Anglicans, Lutherans, Reformed Tradition (Calvin), and the Anabaptists. Key figures in the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He continued to preach and write; enabling him to carry on with reformation. Reformations Theological Issues Luther identified three major principles that were acknowledged by other Protestant factions. According to the theological premises, all Christians are mandated to believe in the Scripture s primacy. The idea means that the Biblical literal meaning should be favored in contrast to any learned or conventional readings. Christians are also supposed to reject anything not founded in Scripture. Secondly, justification is by faith alone, and Christians through believing will be saved, and not by their good works; as maintained by the Catholic Church. The other premise is the priesthood of the believer. The idea meant that it was not ideal to consider ordained priests as the true spiritual estate members. Priesthood was eliminated by Luther in Protestant Churches though some still make use of pastors or ministers to lead. Apart from the three principals, the Eucharist sacrament was also elucidated by Luther with reference to consubstantiation. Consubstantiation refers to the assurance that Christ is indeed present in the Eucharist celebration. The belief is also similar to the transubstantiation doctrine. However, in the transubstantiation doctrine, it is believed that wine and bread factually change to the blood and body of Jesus Christ during the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Powhatan s believed that land was not to be owned but belonged to everyone and anyone, on that land they built simple tent like houses that they could easily move when they had to. They did not have brick houses and buildings that the Europeans had. The Powhatan s used sticks, bows and arrows to hunt and not guns and weapons used by the Spanish. In a civilised place a man would do most of the work but women were the ones who built houses, fetched firewood and a lot more (Source 2) which is one of the many reasons why the Europeans thought the Indians were not civilised. There were no real boundaries, tribes were separated by rivers, swamps, mountains, and other natural landmarks (Source 13). The way they fought or killed was brutal, ...two large stones were placed on the ground, Smith s head was forced upon them and a warrior raised a club to smash in his brain (Source 4). The European nation that came to the Powhatan territory were the Spanish people. A lot of things brought them to the American territory, the Queen of England specifically was interested in the possibility of the colonies providing gold, a passage to Asia and challenging Spain in a world totally different from what they were used to ( the new world) (Source 1). The Spanish wanted to trade, establish new townships and plantations (source 2). They basically wanted to take over the Powhatan land and own it even if it was to be done by force. The Spanish invaded the Powhatan territory because they believed that it would make them richer then what they already were, the routes, the trade, the goods that the Native Americans had and the land of course. All of those things would help boost the Europeans economy bringing not only money but even more development to the countries there. They also wanted to settle and develop the place as their own homes. When the Spanish and the Powhatan s met for the first ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Darcy And Collins Proposal Essay It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife, this quote is the first line of Pride and Prejudice, which also stands as a summary for the entire plot of the story: marriage. This plot involves many key events, two of the most important being Darcy s proposal to Elizabeth and Collins proposal to Elizabeth. Within both proposals, Darcy and Collins are confident that Elizabeth will accept. Mr. Collins is Elizabeth s cousin who is next in line to receive the Bennet estate. This reason, with the fact that his patroness, Lady Catherine, wants him to pursue a wife, is why he proposed to Elizabeth, and with the estate circumstances, why he assumed she would say yes. Darcy s proposal is similar in the way that he takes into account how the marriage would be of benefit to Elizabeth and her family, financially and socially. Collin s takes the initiative to state why he is in want of a wife and why he thinks she would be a suitable match for him. Both men do not even try to compliment and admire her qualities as a person; instead, both men insult Elizabeth. Situated in the highlands of the Andes mountains, it is surrounded by volcanoes, and known for its famous market. A distinct difference from the United States is how people earn money. Many people in the village make sweaters, blouses, and other traditional wear. They sell their merchandise in the huge market and as a result, most people in the village are well off. They also have more free time on their hands to be with family and friends unlike most of those who work in the U.S. In this small village, everybody knows everybody. The OtaveleГ±os are proud of their culture and aren t afraid to show that. Women are seen wearing embroidered clothing, while the norm for men are typical trousers, and a t shirt. On formal occasions, men wear all white with a sombrero. The language that OtaveleГ±os usually use is Spanish, but the indigenous group often uses their indigenous language Kichwa. An important value that lies within their culture ties to their hair. In their culture, hair is sacred to them and is typically grown out and braided. Ideally, I would love to impart on my students the same love of mathematics as I have. However, the world is rarely an ideal place. My ethos in tutoring maths is to remove any fear the student may have in regard to mathematics and then encourage the student to develop confidence in his or her own mathematical abilities. This initial object without question is often extremely challenging. However, watching as a student grows in confidence is one of the most rewarding aspects of being a maths tutor. Furthermore, the development of mathematical confidence is catalyst for both better understanding and achievements in the subject. My focus with senior mathematics is giving the students strong foundations on which they can build, in everyday life or further studies. Undoubtedly, relaxed and confident students are more receptive to the, often challenging, content of senior mathematics. Students are strongly encouraged to be curious and ask as many questions as they need to gain understanding. In addition, they need to develop a good work ethics and positive approach to their studies. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... What does this mean? This quote is a verbal support to some of the themes that are prevalent in psychology. One of these themes are adaptation. Adaptations is the behavior in which something or someone learns, and inverts to carry out through their own actions later. Take a child with an amputated leg for example. If the child has become dependent on walking with both legs, it is going to be difficult for them to realize that they must learn to walk with only one leg. In this article, Barriga traveled the world to speak with disabled people. She saw a five year old girl dressed in rags and chained to a tree with chains because her family thought she was possessed. Presently, English has become a favourable and prominent tool for interaction among people of different cultural backgrounds. The high demand in acquiring English for fields such as international politics, science and technology has led to the global spread of the language. Consequently, English is recognised as an international language, and its ownership is considered to be denationalised and renationalised. The understanding of this ownership status is crucial in establishing an effective practice of intercultural communication, by acknowledging the variations of English and cultural differences in communication styles within classroom and business contexts. First, since English has become an international language, its ownership is regarded as denationalised and renationalised. The concept of denationalisation proposed by Smith suggests that English is no longer just owned by countries such as the United Kingdom and the United States, but by various other countries around the world that also use the language. Kachru also argued that a global English should not only be restricted to the official use by colonial countries of the United Kingdom and the United States, and it is not a necessity to internalise the native speakers norms. • 36. German Expressionism and Dadaism German Expressionism and Dadaism Introduction Revolutionary forms of art have dominated much of Germany, apparently as a reaction to the First World War. The era in which the First World War took place throughout the 1910s, featured artists coming together against what they think the pointless aggression said major conflict brought. German artists, in particular, protested against the social structures prevalent during the 1910s, within which the social structures of the Second Reich were prevalent. German society initially saw film, in particular, as quite an inelegant alternative to the bourgeoisie associated theater. Wiene, Janowitz and Mayer portrayed through The Cabinet of Doctor Caligari their notion that the German war effort that time was a highly grotesque one complete with mind controlling propaganda and objections against dying in the name of German imperial dominance, with the intent to shock audiences with the highly macabre features of the film. In contrast to the propaganda promotion agenda of Germany during the 1910s, which stood as the reason for banning foreign film importation in the nation, The Cabinet of Doctor Caligari serves as a groundbreaking example of Expressionism that time a complete opposite of German government propaganda due to its shockingly subjective anti government message (Kellner 3 39; Kracauer 61 76; Wiene). Ironically, however, Siegfried Kracauer noted that the narrative frame in The Cabinet of Doctor Caligari was an undermining factor to the expressionist nature of the film. Such is perhaps due to the ascendancy of the fear and anxiety factor imbued within The Cabinet of Doctor Caligari, which is supposed to provoke the emotions of audiences. After all, it is the main point of expressionist art to subject audiences to emotionally provoking scenes, which in turn reflect the subjective views of artists. • 38. Waterfall Methodology Essay Choosing a proper method for software design is completely depended upon the requirements and end products of the company. These requirements and goals might change in the process of development of software depending upon the decisions of stakeholders, developers and system analysts. Waterfall life cycle model and Agile methodology are the methods to implement and develop software. The initial methodology used by company is Waterfall methodology consists of sequential steps for the designing of software. One can predict cost, duration and requirements of the project in this method. This method is primarily used when organization knows what the end product of the project is. Proper planning is required before the start of the project. But there are some disadvantages of waterfall methodology. One major disadvantage is that developers cannot go back to the previous step once they have completed the step. If the project requirements are not satisfied initially then there might be a chance of project failure. It might also cost budget issues as well as more duration to complete the project. If developers want to make certain changes in the code of project in between then they again need to start from the beginning to write the code. To overcome these disadvantages of waterfall model, Agile methodology is designed. This methodology uses incremental approach unlike waterfall model which uses sequential steps to develop software. • 42. The United States Of America And Spain Essay The late 1800s was a high tension and tumultuous time for both the United States of America and Spain. Spanish Colonialism had long been receding from its once powerful stronghold in the 16th and 17th centuries, and in the 1890s, the United States would make certain to diminish the last of Spain s outlets. The precedent for the American, superpower perspective of the late 1800s is in large part due to President James Monroe s Doctrine establishing the United Statesas the sole entity of social, political, and economic interest in the Western Hemisphere. The Monroe Doctrine clearly spells out that any territorial advances (or in this case, any territorial claims, whatsoever) would be recognized as an act of aggression and the U.S. would act accordingly (hint, hint war). This document shaped the United States as the sole enforcer of both commerce and democracy in the Western Hemisphere in the minds of its constituents. The statement reveals that everybody is in such a strong trance that they will never wake up. This shows that Big Brother uses hypnosis to control everyone s minds. In the book, 1984, Big Brother also uses hypnosis to make a person turn against someone and make them lose the feelings they once had for somebody.
