Elizabeth Barrett Browning, An English Poet Of The...
Elizabeth Barrett Browning, an English poet of the Victorian Era, was born on March 6, 1806 at
Coxhoe Hall, Durham, England. Barrett was apart of a big family; her parents had 12 children, she
was the oldest out of all of them. Mary Graham Clarke and Edward Barrett were the parents out of all
12 children. They educated their children at home. The family made their money off of Jamaican
sugar plantations and depended on slave labor. Barrett began her love for reading and writing poetry at
a very young age. She began reading the classic poetry written by John Milton and William
Shakespeare. When Barrett was 12 years old she wrote her first book of poetry. When Barrett was 14
years old, she suffered a spinal injury while riding her pony. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Barrett published her first Novel in 1820, The Battle of Marathon, her father published this book
anonymously. Barrett continued to publish her books anonymously, and in 1826 she published An
Essay on Mind and Other Poems. This book really started the kickoff in her writing career.
In 1829, Barrett s mother passed away. Due to the abolition of slavery, the Barretts income decreased
tremendously. In 1832, Edward Barrett was forced to sell his rural estate at an auction. After selling
their land, the family rented cottages in a coastal town, where they lived for the next three years of
their life. After that time in their life, the family moved to London, where they permanently settled. In
1833, after the move, Barrett published her translation of Aeschylus s Prometheus Bound, an Ancient
Greek tragedy. A few years after that she published The Seraphim and Other Poems, a book expressing
her opinion on Christian faith.
Barrett s health continued to decline, she moved in with her brother, Edward, near the sea of Torquay.
That same year, Edward drowned while sailing in the waters of Torquay. Barrett was forced to move
back to London, she was physically and emotionally weak, but that didn t stop here from her writing.
In 1844, she published her collection Poems. This collection drew lots of attention from the public, in
particular, this drew the attention of the English Poet, Robert Browning. Browning began to write
letters to Barrett,

John Duke s Famous Composers
John Duke was one of America s foremost composers of art song. He was born in Cumberland,
Maryland, in the late 1800 s. Due to his musically and literarily inclined parents, Duke had learned to
read music from his mother who was a singer. He did great things with music, beginning piano lessons
at the age of 11, and entering the Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore, Maryland, at the age of sixteen,
where he studied piano with a pupil of some very famous composers. His musical journey came to a
halt when he served as a volunteer with the Student Army Training Corps at Columbia University in
New York City during World War I. After the war ended, he decided to continue his musical studies in
that city. Duke debuted as a concert pianist in the year

Case Study Of CITES
CITES (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species) is an international environmental
agreements or treaty between 171 nations in 1975 that is aimed at ensuring that global wildlife trade is
managed responsibly and sustainably. This was done because trade in wildlife was estimated to be
worth billions of dollars every year. The purpose of CITES was also to ensure that international trade
does not threaten the survival of different species. This convention establishes international
cooperation of certain species from over exploitation through international trade, this is to say the
main concern of CITES is conservation of species (Fiadjoe, Y. 2014).

These reports were then taken to CITES and the media on mass and gruesome killing of elephants.
These elephants are also threatened by increased loos of their habitat and loss of range due to rapid
human population growth and agricultural developments. There CITES member states are doing all
they could to reduce the killing of such species so that they may be useful to the future generation. It is
stated clearly that African elephants compete with people in Botswana for protected areas to ensure
survival of elephants, because in many areas of Botswana people and animals depend on the same
resources and space, therefore resulting in conflicts among the

Unbreakable Skateboard
Branding is important in any business and for skateboards it is quintessential. However, reputation and
durability are not the same; so a company has to earn the fame as one being smooth, effective and
reliable. All these qualities combine to assist in the manufacturing of unbreakable skateboard which
lasts for generations. There are many brands like Element, Plan B, Blind, Zero, Baker, Alien
Workshop providing world class skateboards. However, there is a crucial element to skateboarding
and that is to take care of the skateboard deck. So, while selecting a brand of skateboard it is important
to know the appropriate sizes and requirements of the deck. 1. Length During the selection of a
polycarbonate board or any other one, one must consider that ... Show more content on

Plies For beginners, Plies are the wood layers used to produce the skateboard deck. These plies play
important role in sustaining pressure and making sure the board stays intact without breaking. A
standard board consists of 7 or more layers of compressed wood which gives the compactness to the
deck. During the selection of a brand make sure to ask about the plies as durability is highly dependent
on it. 5. Graphic Who would love a dull skateboard with nothing much to offer for the aesthetic senses
of an individual. While transparent skateboard gives excellent exposure to the skater there are other
options available like having a custom graphic on the board. The personal interests of the skater has to
be shown on the board, and fascinatingly this aspect is not neglected by any top brands and provide
with great graphic on each board. As you have learnt the important specifications for finding the right
brand according to the essentials of a skate board, roam online or a retailer to buy the perfect
skateboard which can become your companion forever. Remember that there are some reliable brands
which can be found out through reviews and testimonials, go through them so that there will not be

The Seventh Seal And Wild Strawberriess By Ingmar Bergman
By 1957, Swedish filmmaker Ingmar Bergman had already established himself in the industry with
films like The Seventh Seal and Wild Strawberries. These films served as a foundation for his work
that would only go deeper into the exploration of the meaning of art film. After being hospitalized for
a long period of time, Bergman started writing a new film, which would eventually be his 1966
Persona. Persona serves as Bergman s first film that delved deeper into the process of exposing
cinema in a self reflexive way while tackling themes of one s identity. Through techniques of using
shadows and intercutting, Bergman helped push a narrative revolving around two women and their
identities that went deeper in the realm of self reflexivity than ... Show more content on

In Persona, one of the most memorable shots of the whole film is the moment in which Alma is giving
Elisabeth the truth about herself. The speech is given from two perspectives; in one instance, we see
Alma speaking and the other we see Elisabeth listening and only Alma s voice. Whether there is a
universal interpretation of this moment or not, the facts are that the two women s faces blend together
at the end of Alma s speech suggesting that maybe the two women are the same person or Elisabeth
has projected her conscious into Alma. Bergman didn t know he was going to use this shot when they
were shooting, but it became something he and cinematographer Sven Nykvist worked on together.
Along with this particular shot, there s also the intercutting of images at the beginning that was done
in post to create the white border around the frame, which made the images smaller than the film
itself. These elements created a distinction between the introduction and the narrative, although at
times the two seemed to run together such as when Alma looks into the camera and the effect of the
projection malfunctioning happens. In Fight Club, David Fincher took similar post production actions
with intercutting of pornographic images, but most of all the scene in which Tyler Durden looks
directly into the camera and delivers a monologue about self actuality and how

A Short Story Of Lady Eruanna
Dawn crept in, and Fleeter awoke. Leaving the chambers, he walked back up to the upper halls, just
outside of the king apos;s Main Hall.
He hesitated, but decided not to go in to see the king. The news of his companions may not have been
decided yet.
Wandering the place, he headed into the stables to check on Andrin. The stable was quite big in
architecture, housing about 20 magnificent horses.
Fleeter immediately spotted Andrin, for he stood out with his pure black body and mane, for horses
like him were only owned by Rangers.
He walked up to his stall, and stroked his black mane. Andrin neighed, sending mixed signals that
only Fleeter seemed to fully understand. Understanding his friend apos;s request, he pulled out a

Fleeter didn apos;t want to bring down her light hearted spirit, but he could not help himself.
quot; They apos;re fine. But I fear some might end up being hunted down. quot; He said with a solemn
face.
quot;The Humans have started the Huntings again. I ran into some on my way here. quot;
Eruanna looked apon him with sympathy. quot;I apos;m sorry, quot; she whispered.
He turned to face her, and realized how sad she suddenly looked.
quot;It is not your fault, nor would I ever blame you for my own troubles, quot; he whispered to her
softly.
She smiled, in hopes of lifting his spirits, and spoke to him, quot;King Ronore will announce your
companions sooner today, I believe. See you later. quot;
With a gracious smile on her face, she slowly walked away. His eyes followed her, until she was
finally out of sight.

Essay on Review We Have No Right to Happiness
Review on We have No Right to Happiness
By: C.S. Lewis
In class we read three different essays including The Dying family by J.H. Plumb, Does Fatherhood
Make You Happy? By Daniel Gilbert, and We Have No Right to Happiness by C.S. Lewis. Though the
purpose of these essays can be very controversial to some, after reviewing all three essays I have
picked my favorite, or the one I agree with and disagree with most. We have no Right to Happiness
makes a very good argument on the point the author is trying to make. Some people believe that
happiness is a right and is supposed to be given out, or is required to be provided by the government,
like a right. In all reality that is true, but to an extent, we do have a right to ... Show more content on

But there still is their pursuit of happiness. Guaranteed your parents social status was not just given to
them, nor will yours, your parents open that door for you to pursue your happiness. I guess whether
you agree on this point or not would have something to do with where you come from or what you
have been provided with up until this point, in which ever case government is not required to make
you happy as an individual. I believe government already helps out people too much already, even if
there not as deserving or willing to work for it. Though the right to happiness is chiefly claimed for
the sexual impulse, it seems to me impossible that the matter should stay there Lewis said. Sexual
happiness is on a whole different aspect. It s probably not in your best interest to act on every sexual
related impulse you have to make you happy. Although you are entitled too, sexually fulfilling your
happiness is not true happiness, it seems to be very superficial. In this case, leaving your wife to marry
another isn t ideal, on the other hand to some it would be. Overall, although these situations arise, it is
probably not in your best well being to depend on them. Life is short. I wouldn t blame you for trying
to make it a good one but depending on it will only set you up for

Examples Of Passion In King Lear
Practice can make things perfect, but it is the passion that persuades them. In King Lear, Lear s first
phase of development is about his wild enthusiasm (passion). First and foremost of the play, Lear
enters his castle and begins to discuss the division of Britain between his daughters: Goneril, Regan,
and Cordelia. Lear says that he will transfer his throne, but whoever expresses greater amount of their
affection shall get the largest bounty; Which of you shall we say doth love us most? (1.1.52). While
Goneril and Regan succeed in their flattery; Lear s energetic love is destroyed in light of the fact that
Cordelia did not exaggerate her love towards her father. This outcomes in King Lear abandoning and
banishing Cordelia. Close to the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In King Lear, the theme of nature and storm echoes Lear s internal turmoil and madness. In the
meantime, the storm symbolizes the marvellous power of nature, which compels the powerless ruler to
perceive his own mortality. The chaos also symbolizes the political confusion that has overwhelmed
Britain. One of the points that relate to the theme of storm is Lear s cruel nature. In Act 1, Lear arrives
at the Duke s (Albany) castle. After a while, Goneril comes in search for Lear and tells him that if he
has to remain in her royal residence, he must lessen the number of his knights. Lear enrages again

Harold And Maude Film Techniques
According to the film of Harold and Maude directed by Hal Ashby, there is a scene where both Harold
(a kid who thinks suicidal), along with his mother by the name Vivian are sitting down, not even
facing the same direction of each other. Vivian begins to ask back to back questions to Harold based
on the national computer dating services. During the scene, Harold looks straight ahead while his
mother is looking down at the form of questions she is constantly asking him. The whole time, Harold
does not say a word and his mother answers each question herself, as she would know her son s
answers. Harold slowly pulls out a handgun out of a case located on his lap. He then aims the gun
towards his mother and then aims the gun pointing his direction. Shortly after, he then pulls the
trigger, shooting himself in the head and falls back. After the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

In the scene, they are wearing luxurious attire inside of an elegant setting. Harold was wearing a
dapper suit and tie, while the mother was wearing a nice dress with an appealing necklace and purse.
This would be the assumption they live a high class (ruling) lifestyle. Secondly, this scene shows the
ideology how negative Harold thinks of Vivian. Once he aimed the gun her way and kept it steady
with confidence, a viewer could easily tell Harold was fed up by his own mom. As most kids with
their parents, this shows an exaggeration of how they could feel when parents are annoying them
when they do not want to be bothered or dislike them as a whole. Lastly, an ideology that both works
and can be made out of the following scene is the dominant belief of Harold s attitude and emotions.
Things may not seem to be bad for a person if he or she lives at an upper level than majority of the
population. However, that does not mean being at a high peak of life defines a person s

The Importance of Booster Seats and Seat Belts
In 2011 there were 650 deaths of children who were not properly buckled or in a car seat when riding
in a vehicle, with the use of a booster that could have been extremely reduced. Families are out on
road trips so much more than in the past, which means that children are in the car far more than they
used to be ( Booster ... 1). Almost 7, 000 children were involved in accidents in 2006 and 45% of them
were not restrained and received fatal injuries ( Statistics... 6). In 2006, there were approximately 5
child fatalities daily ( Statistics... 2).This number could be lowered if children would be placed in
proper booster or car seats for their age and buckled soundly. Most children that are not buckled are
from families where the parent does not buckle up ( Child Passenger Safety 2). When in a car, only
about 21% of children ages 4 8 years of age are occasionally riding in a booster ( Child Passenger
Safety Statistics 4).These precautions help children to be secure in case of an accident. In an article
published by the CDC, they stated, Buckling children in age and size appropriate car seats, booster
seats, and seat belts reduces the risk of serious and fatal injuries ( Child Passenger Safety 4). The laws
state that all children should be in a car seat, for a reason. Use of seat belts are important but the
combination of seat belts and boosters together, are proven to help keep children from deaths and
injuries in accidents, especially when they are used

Introduction. Special Operations Security Solutions has developed a physical security plan at the
request of a managing business partner. This Physical Security plan was developed for the
safeguarding of information requiring protection in the interests of national security. It primarily
pertains to classified national security information, now known as classified information, but also
addresses controlled unclassified information, to include for official use only and sensitive but
unclassified. The parameters provided are as follows. * 30,000 square foot facility in a rural area *

Outdoor barriers comprise of fences, walls, vehicle barriers, and exterior doors. Barriers must perform
three functions * Define provide clear boundary markings of the area to be protected * Delay Delay
unwanted traffic, but not necessarily stop it * Direct direct traffic to proper entrances
Locks Proper locks in this facility are a necessity. Strong, solid doors are needed as well as appropriate
locking mechanisms. The most secure locks can be defeated without a equally secure door. Under no
circumstances should cylindrical locks be used as they are often the least secure. Unit locks provide
excellent security if traditional locks are to be used. Areas containing classified materials should be
reinforced with additional locking mechanisms such as deadbolts. Classified materials must be stored
in approved security containers. GSA approved security measure and equipment; to include locks
should be installed.
Lighting Considerations Lighting is an important security measure; not only does it create a
psychological deterrent to intrusion and enable detection, it also makes the business more attractive,
promotes safety and improves employee moral. Adequate lighting is an effective crime control
method. For the parking area, 1 2 Foot candles of illumination is recommended. The facility entrance
requires at least 5 foot candles of illumination, with a 1 foot candles illumination

The Is The Most Valuable Asset Of All
America isn t just recognized as one of the wealthiest country in the world but also a country that a lot
of people look up to. Therefore it is obligated to keep up with the exceptional reputation by taking
care of the citizens of United States through providing free adequate health care to its people. Health
is the most valuable asset of all. A lot of Americans today are suffering from illnesses that can be
easily treated yet they are unable to get a treatment because it is too expensive for them. Due to this
reason, a lot of people tend to avoid going for check ups or even hide their illnesses because they are
afraid of the high cost that might lead them into heavy debt or bankruptcy. In addition, if every citizen
has an access to free health care, they are likely to be more productive with their lifestyles which
doesn t just equal to an improved society but also an improved country! The government should take a
step toward changing the expensive health care system by formulating a path in which the citizens are
provided with a high quality, free health care because it s not affordable, it will improve the
experience of care and promote a healthy nation. Health and wealth are two very important
components in our lives. However, health would be considered more essential. Life becomes tough
without wealth but a life without health becomes intolerable. It is an obvious fact that health
contributes more to a longer life than wealth. Sadly, there are millions of people

Definitions Of Place In Timmy And Fiona William s Home
Place is defined by the incommensurable qualities that determine a certain location is unique. As
humans we develop connections to these zones and essentially establish a strong sense of place.
According to Kent Rydon A sense of place results gradually and unconsciously from inhabiting a
landscape over time, becoming familiar with its physical properties, accruing history within its
confines. To me this means that there are a plethora of definitions of sense of place; however they all
share similarities and can be fitted into different categories. Jennifer Cross, part of the Department of

Comparing Empathy in Blade Runner and Slaughterhouse-Five...
Empathy in Blade Runner (Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep)and Slaughterhouse Five
What does it mean to be human? This is a question that is often asked in literary works. Is it our
intelligence that separates us from being like any other animal on this planet or is it something else?
Perhaps it is our ability to feel empathy for other humans and other forms of life. If this is so, then
how is it that we also have violence and wars where humans hurt and kill other humans? How is it that
humans can hurt animals without a second thought, if it s our ability to feel empathy that separates us
from them? Both Philip K. Dick and Kurt Vonnegut explore these questions in their novels Blade
Runner (Do Androids Dream ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Everyone is a follower of Mercerism, which encourages people to feel empathy for others and for
animals. In this manner, everyone on Earth survives without feeling that he or she is alone. The main
character of Blade Runner is Rick Deckard, a bounty hunter for the Los Angeles police department.
Several androids had killed their owners on Mars and had escaped to Earth. The first bounty hunter
that went after them managed to retire two before being put in the hospital himself. It was up to
Deckard to destroy the remaining six. Unfortunately, the androids who escaped were the new Nexus 6
types, which looked and acted exactly like real humans. They were even more intelligent than most
humans. The only way to tell them apart from real humans is by measuring the amount of empathy
they can feel, which isn t as great as humans. While hunting these rouge androids, Deckard s whole
perception of what it is to be human gets questioned and he begins to wonder if there is that much
difference between a human and an android.

Epicureans And Cynicism
According to Epicureans and Cynics, life must be lived in the utmost organic way by avoiding empty
pleasures, psychological pain and not depend on opinion of others. For Epicureans, the natural life is
moderation in pursuing desires and removing all unnecessary troubles and fears from the mind.
Cynicism focuses on rejecting conventional desires such as power, status, sex and wealth, and live in
agreement with nature by finding the bare natural needs for our existence. Both philosophies draw
attention to prioritizing mental health and well being by simplifying the life style to what is truly
needed rather than being influenced by society to believe otherwise. Epicurus stated, Everything

The strength of Cynicism would be to live in harmony with nature, and becoming independent from
society s pressure or point of view on how one must live. As Epicurus pointed out that the goal of the
good life is freedom from uneasiness of the mind and fulfilling necessary desires for happiness by
saying Once we accomplish this, the storm of the mind is put to an end, and the living creature will

throughout the city in search of his former department, there happened to be a smell so rancid it made
him almost vomit just by being there. Upon entering the Street Sweeper Department, he realized there
was a man lying flat on the smooth marble floor. This man was no other than International 4 8818 a

International started to respond. He explained to Prometheus that a plague had wiped out many the

Prometheus to leave him to his suffering to which Prometheus immediately obeyed. Now with great

Light Waves
Light waves over the electromagnetic reach carry on in equivalent ways. Exactly when a light wave
encounters a thing, they are either transmitted, reflected, devoured, refracted, stimulated, diffracted, or
scattered depending upon the structure of the article and the wavelength of the light.
Particular instruments on load up NASA transport and planes assemble data on how electromagnetic
waves act when they speak with matter. These data can reveal the physical and substance structure of
matter.
Reflection is when scene light (drawing nearer light) hits an article and ricochets off. To a great degree
smooth surfaces, for instance, mirrors mirror all event light.
The shade of an article is truly the wavelengths of the light reflected while each and every other
wavelength are held. Shading, for this circumstance, suggests the assorted wavelengths of light in the
unmistakable light range saw by our eyes. The physical and substance structure of matter makes sense
of which wavelength (or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Refraction is when light waves modify course as they run beginning with one medium then onto the

Towers Watson Performance Management Analysis Essay
New research from Towers Watson s Performance Management Pulse Survey 2015 has confirmed that
the concerns raised in these articles are shared widely in many companies around the Europe, Middle
East and Africa (EMEA) region. Almost 65% of organisations described their performance
management processes as ineffective, while only three out of 10 managers and employees reported
being satisfied with these same processes.
Towers Watson Media
Source: Towers Watson Performance Management Survey 2015
But while there is broad agreement about the ineffectiveness of many current programmes, the reasons
behind the dissatisfaction are surprisingly different from the picture painted by the headlines. Rather
than confirming that companies are spending too much time on developing employee performance,
the survey found that 83% of companies invest fewer than six hours per year on each employee.
Against a background where employees are often demanding more frequent feedback and touchpoints,
there is a clear disconnect emerging.
Global employee engagement data confirm how important spending time to set clear goals and
objectives and discussing careers is to employees. Indeed, these frequently appear as two of the top
three drivers of sustainable engagement and retention.
In this most recent survey, for example, employees said they want to spend more time setting relevant
goals (58%) and participating in performance feedback and career discussions (72%). These results

They even go so far as to list personal reference checks for Lane Ford as a deal condition. Further, the

Walnut is following an initial set of investments in and loans made to RBS by UST. Further, Mid
Atlantic is also interested in investing in the company showing the follow on effect, and at the last

Comparing Disney s The Princess And The Frog
Produced in 2009, Disney s The Princess and The Frog tells the story of a young woman trying to

Tiana s intelligence shines through with every obstacle thrown her way. Growing up in a working

came from a very wealthy family. Tiana knew that in order to accomplish her dreams it was going to
take every ounce of energy that she had to keep pushing herself towards to the top. So she worked two

The Importance Of Being A Team For A Sporting Team Essay
Put me in Coach..
As children we are taught to include everyone because it is not nice to leave people out. If this is a
practice we are taught from a very early age, why is it okay to change that just to win a sporting
event? There is an understanding that when you are in middle/high school, there will be tryouts for a
sporting team. The children who are good enough, make the team, those who are not, get cut. With the
understanding that some players skill level is higher than others, the playing time may not be the
same. With that being said, if you are good enough to make the team, then why would you not be good
enough to play for your team at least once every game? We all know the benefits of being on a team,
learning to cooperate, working together to achieve a goal, helps improve for communication skills and
allows youth to exercise. But what if you make this team and don t ever get to play, are you still seeing
these benefits to being on a team? If you tryout and make a school team, then all players should be
allowed to play in and participate in every game.
The debate is ongoing point of contention for parents and coaches. Playing time a thing to love or
cause much heartache. Coaches tend to take a point of view that they are 1. They are there to win
games 2. life is not fair and how will your athlete learn to deal with these negative emotions in the real
world? Parents take the point of view that, this isn t a professional event, they all made the team why

Labelling Theories Contribution to the Sociological...
Labelling Theories Contribution to the Sociological Understanding of Crime and Deviance Becker is
the main sociologist studying labelling theory on deviance, he argues that social groups create
deviance by making the rules whose infraction constitutes deviance. Meaning acts only become
deviant when observers perceive it and define it as deviant. An example of this would be the act of
nudity, it is accepted in the bedroom between husband and wife or on a nudist camp, but when a
stranger was to enter the bedroom, or someone was to streak across a sporting event, others would
usually see this as deviant, and this deviancy would become a label on the individual. Several factors
affect what the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Which in turn could turn into a self fulfilling prophecy because of being identified with the label and it
becomes controlling. Once these steps have occurred, what Becker describes as the deviant career is
completed when the individual joins an organised deviant group and thus accepting their identity of
being deviant. However, this is not by any means inevitable and some of those who started out as
convicts or drug addicts can become straight and get jobs or quit their habits. When Becker identified
that he took a sequential approach he means how he explains deviance and at any stage in the
sequence of his explanation it is possible that the deviant will re enter conventional society. Lemmert
also uses the interactionist perspective in his view of labelling, outlining primary and secondary
deviance, primary being the act before it is publicly labelled and secondary being the response of the
individual or deviant to the reactions of others in society. But he sees the agents of social control to
blame for deviance rather than the traditional views of the blame lying with the deviant individual or
group. This labelling theory has contributed two concepts to help understand the relationship between
media and crime: · Deviancy amplification, Lesley Wilkins points out that a response to deviant acts
by media and the police can actually

CHAPTER 1: INTRODUCTION
Introduction to the Problem
Repatriation is the process of returning back home from the expatriate assignment. It has been noted
that middle level managers who have completed their expatriate assignment and are returning to their
home countries have opted to leave their mother companies due to a failure to readjusted and
reintegrate. This has led to the high turnover middle managers that are repatriating to the United
States. The United States of America has the majority of employees who are under the expatriate
scheme. These expatriates are expected to have a positive career development which has been the

However, most of the recent studies have found that the repatriation process has been mishandled and
can be a bit dysfunctional in nature (Gregersen, Morrison, Black, 1998; Stroh, Black, Mendenhall,
Gregersen, 2005). The current and given repatriation strategies concerning middle managers involve
expectations of the business stakeholders such as the employees, customers, and the shareholders. The
expectations of the stakeholders can be categorized as return, risk, and the stakeholders tendency to
complain after the outcomes of the business strategies when they return less than favorable result. The
returns involve the benefits and profits, which are obtained by the shareholders. These returns involve
financial and the non financial benefits. For instance the shareholders expect the increase of their
profits and the employees expect the increase of their salaries, while customers expect the
improvement of the services respectively. The risk of a strategic policy involves the possibility of the
failure of the strategy. The consequence of the risk may be the loss of the financial and the non
financial resources. The stakeholder reactions involve the tendency of the stakeholders to oppose the
views of the employees and the customers. Moreover the workers may start to oppose some policies
such as the outsourcing policies, with the view that it may lead to the loss of their jobs. At the same
time the customers may support the merger of the companies and

He tells how creationists expose those gaps and claim that because of those gaps evolution is not
proven to be true. However Thomas explains that there are many difficult steps in the process of
uncovering fossils, but those difficulties don t disprove anything. He says that creationists say that

disagreement between the evolution believers called evolutionists and Creationism believers called
creationists. Thomas defends his belief in evolutionism from the creationists. The creationists claimed
the evolutionists argument, which is fossilization, has gaps in it that make their ideals flawed. Thomas
defends his position by giving evidence on how he can prove that fossilization is valid truthful
evidence to support evolutionism. Thomas uses the explanation of the formation of the fossils to
defend his case. He gives a series of descriptive steps all telling how each step helps support his
argument, each step supporting evolution in different ways. The formation of fossils gives the
explanation that animals must die and be buried in a compositional area. This allows scientists to be
able to date the age of the discovered fossils. Thomas admits that dating fossils might not be one
hundred percent accurate, and there are gaps. Thomas also claims that dating the fossils is much more
evidence based than any evidence creationists have. This article is just a small portion of the
arguments for both sides have it s primarily evolutionists. It s just defending one of the many critiques
of the creationists. Thomas explains to the readers that even though he can t physically prove that
evolution is true, he can back up his claims with science based calculations,

He also putted cadenza after in the end of this movement. Mozart was not wrote the cadenza for horn
soloist. Horn players have to make cadenza by themselves.
Second movement of this horn concerto is a Romance in Ab Major. This form is a ternary form.
Mozart puts horn and orchestra together to play this melody. Mozart used two themes and some
melodic link to connect all movement. The first four measures of the beginning showed up two times
in this movement. This third movement is a rondo form. The sections of this movement are ABACA.
A section repeated three times. Mozart putted codetta in the last section. And he used the continuing
triple notes to make this piece more excited. At the same time, the theme of this movement sounds like
Mozart s piano concerto No.22. Even these two pieces do not have the exactly same melody, but still
can figured out the similar theme between these two pieces.
This is interesting evidence about Mozart s four concertos. His first movements of his concerti are
sonata form and third movements are rondo. Because Mozart s first horn concerto is an incomplete
piece, his second movement of this piece is a rondo. In the other hand, this movement originally was a
third movement. In his three concerti (without first horn concerto), his second movements basically
are romance. However, in No.2 horn concerto, Mozart only wrote Andante for second movement.

slavery, networks of places to meet to escort slaves to freedom were created to move them up north.
These networks being to materialize in the early 1800 s. The meeting places were secret in nature and

Qohlab Reflection
I compared the text from the New Interpreter s Study Bible to an interpretation from the Message
Bible. While there were several differences in the wording and vocabulary used, for the most part this
did not affect how a reader might interpret the reading. However, the ending verse of the NIB version
states One man among a thousand I found, but a woman among all these I have not found. While the
Message interpretation states I didn t find one man or woman in a thousand worth my while. This
difference points out how the culture and time period in which the translation was made or written
influences the interpretation. Both before and after this passage follow the general idea of the entire
book, a teacher preaching about his wisdom from his point of view. I believe that the reading does not
need any context from the previous readings in the book to understand, but having an understanding of
the author s logic and way of thinking does help to better reflect on the passage. A major theme from
the author himself that caught my eye was the author s realistic, some might even say pessimistic,
view on his interpretation of life. The author states that the reality of life is that no one on Earth can do
good and not sin during their life. Also, the author states that life is not fair and just despite
conventional wisdom. The major theme is that Qoheleth, the Teacher as the authors refers to their self,
is teaching us about the world from their point of view and from the wisdom

Black Culture In Africa
Black culture derives from interpretations of traits and other things from Africa.
Africa is continuously recreated and then reconstructed.
African culture is always abused by a large array of different people.
Africa is essential to the making of popular culture, black culture, and new religious systems with
fused roots.
Africa is also essential to the imagery of a modern nation.
The result of Africa being a contest icon is a struggle between white intellectuals, black leaders,
popular and elite culture, conformity and protest, and political ideas developed in the west and their
reinterpretation in Latin America to claim it.
A Brazilian system of race relations creates a uniquely Brazilian Africa that hold both protest and
conformation.
In Brazil, areas like the state of Bahia and the region around the city of Salvador have maintained
African Traits in its black culture.
In Bahia, a debate between modern sociologist and anthropologist took place. This debate discussed
whether or not black culture originated in the 1930 s and if contemporary black culture should be read
as the survival of black culture or a creative adaptation to racism. (Middle of page 2)

IBM Strategy Essay
As CEO of IBM, Samuel J. Palmisano used the momentum of the success gained under the leadership
of Louis Gestner to steer the business in a new direction. Sam intends to restore the organization to the
former status it held as a technological leader with an admirable company culture. Palmisano s plan
calls for the reorganization of the executive management board, restructuring of incentive programs,
and an emphasis on collaboration across all divisions. Establishing closer relationships between
researchers and clients is also a key factor in creating new opportunities for growth for IBM. E
business on demand is the new initiative at the heart of Palmisano s strategy for the growth of IBM s
Global Services. E business will transform ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During Palmisano s leadership Global Services became IBM s most profitable division and continues
to display tremendous growth potential. The division sells IT packages to organizations that include
software, hardware, as well as systems and software integration. To achieve the seamless integration
of systems IBM has made a major investment in open source technologies such as the Linux operating
system and grid computing. Linux is one of the world s fastest growing operating system. IBM is a
strong supporter of Linux as a way to promote open standards. Open standards allow the
interoperability of various applications, technologies, and computer devices, providing customers with
a wider choice and flexibility to deploy applications.2 The open source licensing of these technologies
allows IBM to develop upon their capabilities to suit the client s needs while eliminating the expense
of commercial products.
The recent inclination for corporations to downsize IT departments and reduce operation costs means
that IBM cannot rely on the sales of hardware and software for continued growth. Sam Palmisano s
vision for IBM s future success is contingent on the company becoming a provider of On Demand
Business IT services. The concept is to distribute computer services like utilities and have customers
pay on a usage basis. This removes the burden of capital and resources necessary to

The Disparity Between Post Soviet Republics
The collapse of the U.S.S.R signaled the end of an era. The effects of the dissolution were felt all over
the world, causing many international relationships to be completely re evaluated ( Fall of the Soviet
Union , The Cold War Museum). Although the severe shift in the global political situation shocked
many, the aftermath of the fall of the Soviet Union was felt most strongly in the countries which had
been a part of it. The dissolution meant what had been one solidified nation was once again fifteen
separate entities who must work to rebuild themselves in a new world. However, when we look at the
former Soviet republics now, the disparity between their growth is obvious. Why is it ... Show more

The Baltic states (Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania) announced their independence and signaled a rapid
end to Gorbachev s Soviet Union. Revolutions gradually swept through the Soviet Republics until in

joined later in 1993, but then pulled out of the organization 15 years afterwards in 2008 (

  • 6. The Seventh Seal And Wild Strawberriess By Ingmar Bergman By 1957, Swedish filmmaker Ingmar Bergman had already established himself in the industry with films like The Seventh Seal and Wild Strawberries. These films served as a foundation for his work that would only go deeper into the exploration of the meaning of art film. After being hospitalized for a long period of time, Bergman started writing a new film, which would eventually be his 1966 Persona. Persona serves as Bergman s first film that delved deeper into the process of exposing cinema in a self reflexive way while tackling themes of one s identity. Through techniques of using shadows and intercutting, Bergman helped push a narrative revolving around two women and their identities that went deeper in the realm of self reflexivity than ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In Persona, one of the most memorable shots of the whole film is the moment in which Alma is giving Elisabeth the truth about herself. The speech is given from two perspectives; in one instance, we see Alma speaking and the other we see Elisabeth listening and only Alma s voice. Whether there is a universal interpretation of this moment or not, the facts are that the two women s faces blend together at the end of Alma s speech suggesting that maybe the two women are the same person or Elisabeth has projected her conscious into Alma. Bergman didn t know he was going to use this shot when they were shooting, but it became something he and cinematographer Sven Nykvist worked on together. Along with this particular shot, there s also the intercutting of images at the beginning that was done in post to create the white border around the frame, which made the images smaller than the film itself. These elements created a distinction between the introduction and the narrative, although at times the two seemed to run together such as when Alma looks into the camera and the effect of the projection malfunctioning happens. Towers Watson Media Source: Towers Watson Performance Management Survey 2015 But while there is broad agreement about the ineffectiveness of many current programmes, the reasons behind the dissatisfaction are surprisingly different from the picture painted by the headlines. Rather than confirming that companies are spending too much time on developing employee performance, the survey found that 83% of companies invest fewer than six hours per year on each employee. Against a background where employees are often demanding more frequent feedback and touchpoints, there is a clear disconnect emerging. Global employee engagement data confirm how important spending time to set clear goals and objectives and discussing careers is to employees. Indeed, these frequently appear as two of the top three drivers of sustainable engagement and retention. In this most recent survey, for example, employees said they want to spend more time setting relevant goals (58%) and participating in performance feedback and career discussions (72%). These results further underscore ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

If this is a practice we are taught from a very early age, why is it okay to change that just to win a sporting event? There is an understanding that when you are in middle/high school, there will be tryouts for a sporting team. The children who are good enough, make the team, those who are not, get cut. With the understanding that some players skill level is higher than others, the playing time may not be the same. With that being said, if you are good enough to make the team, then why would you not be good enough to play for your team at least once every game? We all know the benefits of being on a team, learning to cooperate, working together to achieve a goal, helps improve for communication skills and allows youth to exercise. But what if you make this team and don t ever get to play, are you still seeing these benefits to being on a team? • 30. Labelling Theories Contribution to the Sociological... Labelling Theories Contribution to the Sociological Understanding of Crime and Deviance Becker is the main sociologist studying labelling theory on deviance, he argues that social groups create deviance by making the rules whose infraction constitutes deviance. Meaning acts only become deviant when observers perceive it and define it as deviant. An example of this would be the act of nudity, it is accepted in the bedroom between husband and wife or on a nudist camp, but when a stranger was to enter the bedroom, or someone was to streak across a sporting event, others would usually see this as deviant, and this deviancy would become a label on the individual. Several factors affect what the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Which in turn could turn into a self fulfilling prophecy because of being identified with the label and it becomes controlling. Once these steps have occurred, what Becker describes as the deviant career is completed when the individual joins an organised deviant group and thus accepting their identity of being deviant. However, this is not by any means inevitable and some of those who started out as convicts or drug addicts can become straight and get jobs or quit their habits. When Becker identified that he took a sequential approach he means how he explains deviance and at any stage in the sequence of his explanation it is possible that the deviant will re enter conventional society. Lemmert also uses the interactionist perspective in his view of labelling, outlining primary and secondary deviance, primary being the act before it is publicly labelled and secondary being the response of the individual or deviant to the reactions of others in society. But he sees the agents of social control to blame for deviance rather than the traditional views of the blame lying with the deviant individual or group. This labelling theory has contributed two concepts to help understand the relationship between media and crime: · Deviancy amplification, Lesley Wilkins points out that a response to deviant acts by media and the police can actually ...
