How Did Operation Barbarossa Invade Russia
1941: Operation Barbarossa
Russia tried to avoid war with Germany at the start of World War II, but this changed on June 22,
1941. Operation Barbarossa joined Russia into the World War II. This was the largest German military
attack, and unfortunately for the Russians, a very well planned operation. Operation Barbarossa s
name originated from the Holy Roman emperor, Fredrick Barbarossa, who set out to conquer the Holy
Land. This name was completely appropriate since the goal of Operation Barbarossa was to capture
the capitol of Russia, Moscow. Operation Barbarossa was an attack by the Germans to join Russia into
the war with Germany.
The plan of Operation Barbarossa started in July of 1940. Hitler decided he wanted to make an attack
on Russia. He saw a threat to his oil supply in Romania who was one of Germany s allies. Hitler
signed the first order of Barbarossa on December 18, 1940. Germany was breaking a non aggression
pact with Russia on August 23, 1939 with this operation. Although, it wasn t just Germany who was
paranoid; Russia was also suspicious of Germany. Germany s bold idea of attacking Russia wasn t just
to take over Russian territory, but destroy the Red Army (Soviet army) with large battles and
enormous amounts of demolition.
After much strategy and months of preparation, Germany invaded Russia on June 22, 1941. Germany
was well prepared with three separate army division in the North, South, and Central areas of Russia s
eastern border. Germany had about three

Figurative Language In The Laughing Heart By Charles Bukowski
The poem The Laughing Heart was written by Charles Bukowski. The poem is about taking chances
and living life to the fullest. The poem The Journey was written by Mary Oliver. This poem was about
finding inner strength. Both poems have unique themes, tones, and creative figurative language. Both
poets use several examples of figurative language and tone to develop the theme of the poems. The
poem The Laughing Heart displays several examples of figurative language to convey the theme of
the poem. The poet uses figurative language to tell the reader to take chances, risks, and to live life to
the fullest. You can t beat death but you can beat death in life, sometimes everybody dies at some
point but that shouldn t stop you from being lively and taking risks (Bukowski 12,13). Charles
Bukowski is trying to tell the reader that life is worthwhile and to live up to your own life
expectations. There is a light somewhere it may not be much light but it beats the darkness the poet is
saying to not let yourself be taken by the struggles of life but, to pursue through the difficulties and
find more opportunities that will be more worthwhile(Bukowski 5,6.7). The Journey uses figurative
language to convey the theme of inner strength. The wind pried with its stiff fingers at the very
foundations Mary Oliver uses personification to show that there are things trying to destroy what you
had built (Oliver 14,15,16). Whether it be wind or an actual person the poet is stating that you must
endure it until you are strong enough to fight it. And there was a new voice which you slowly
recognized as your own, that kept you company your voice isn t something that can physically keep
you company (Oliver 27, 28, 29, 30) However, you can find your own words and voice as you find
your own strengths despite what anybody says. The tones of the poems help define the meaning of the
poem. The tone of The Laughing Heart is urgency. The poet is speaking directly to the reader and
advising you that your life is your life (Bukowski 1). Don t let it be clubbed into dank submission. be
on the watch the poet is advising you and warning you to not let yourself be swept away by the
darkness and evilness of the world and

Power And Control In William Shakespeare s The Tempest
In William Shakespeare s romantic comedy play, The Tempest, we witness an endless amount of
power struggles and scheming amongst characters, all in the hopes of achieving one thing: complete
control over the remote island in which they re stranded on. Throughout the play, characters choose
their allies, set targets on their enemies, and manipulate situations and one another in an attempt to
reach their end goals. Each character that strives to colonize the island has different motives based on
their place in the social hierarchy and their relationships to fellow characters. However, each character
seeking control over the island not only has their own motives, but also their own vision for what the
island could be under their sole jurisdiction. The three main players seeking to colonize the island and
make their own vision of what it could be into a reality are Prospero, Caliban, and Gonzalo. Between
these three characters we see relationships between the colonizer, the colonized, and one character
who envisions the island as an opportunity to create the perfect society. Power and control are
prominent themes in Shakespeare s The Tempest, as the audience is faced with severe questions of
morality and who has rightful claim of the island.
As the play begins, we learn of the master/servant relationships that are already in place on the island.
Prospero is the current all powerful and omnipotent ruler of the island, who uses strategical social
tactics of abuse and manipulation

The Exploition Of Human Trafficking In The United States
Human trafficking is defined by the UNODC (United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime) as
Trafficking in Persons as the recruitment, transportation, transfer, harbouring or receipt of persons, by
means of the threat or use of force or other forms of coercion, of abduction, of fraud, of deception, [...]
for the purpose of exploitation. Exploitation shall include, at a minimum, the exploitation of the
prostitution of others or other forms of sexual exploitation, forced labour or services, slavery or
practices similar to slavery, servitude or the removal of organs. According to the International Labour
Organization 20.9 million people are trafficked globally and in our the state of Massachusetts alone
there have been 69 reported cases this year ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Helping to raise money for victims of human trafficking will help the victim get back on their feet
gives them some stability for the time being as they start to build up their lives again. There are many
different organizations like Polaris and The National Human Trafficking Hotline or fundraisers held
by trafficking victims that ask for donations to fund these programs and to help these people that are
being trafficked. They make it very easy to donate also, they have web pages to guide people and
show people where to donate and they also give information about human trafficking too, like
statistics to see just how big of a problem it is. Besides these fundraiser, giving these victims jobs is
helpful too because a lot of them were in poverty before being trafficked. Giving them stabled jobs so
they never have to search for money in way that will make them classified as a slave will help a great
deal. The next way to help diminish human trafficking is getting people more aware of the issue will
lead to more help, having survivors share their stories appeals to people s emotions and they ll feel
empathetic towards the horrible situations that these people lived and and would want to help. Another
way to help is to tip off officials and these hotlines and tell them if you know anything about human
trafficking near you, it makes it easier to punish the people that are doing these horrendous

The Importance Of Looking Before You Leap Essay
The Importance of Looking Before You Leap Media portrays romantic relationships as a whirlwind of
emotions that ends in a happily ever after in the course of a few days; children s movies are a larger
perpetrator of this idea. But how accurate is this to real life relationships? Research, including John
Van Epp s book How to Avoid Falling in Love with a Jerk, tells us that a healthy relationship is built
on more than the initial emotions we feel. In chapter one of How to Avoid Falling in Love with a Jerk,
Epp discusses the importance of the love is blind phenomenon where we either one, don t know how
to identify predictors of relationship dissatisfaction or two, become so attached to someone that we
minimize predictors in the belief that things will get better. The love is blind phenomenon causes
discourse between the heart and mind, two things that need to be harmonious in order for a healthy
relationship. Epp also discusses the predictors of (dis)satisfaction in order to find a partner that
complements us and identify things that could result in potential problems in the relationship. For the
first chapter, I found the predictors to be the most interesting point in this chapter. Epp identified five
categories that seemed to play a large role in marital satisfaction and they are compatibility potential,
relationship skills, patterns from other relationships, family patterns and background, and character
and conscience traits. Compatibility potential is the similarities

Passion for College Students
Passion College Students for Their Schools College students traditionally show pride towards their
respective school. What makes students so enthusiastic for their school? In Laura Randall s Things
You Only Do in College and David Berreby s It Takes a Tribe both writers explore college culture but
come up with decidedly different results. Randall argues that college students traditions are
embarrassing to the university, and students should be focusing on schoolwork not traditions; but
Berreby suggests traditions are for the pride which students have for their school. In this essay I argue
that students are passionate for their school, and the traditions they participate in are for the pride they
have for the school. Randall ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In this quote he is saying there are many students who apply to colleges for name recognition.
However, when they get to the university or college they will participate in the traditions. Not every
student at Penn State knows the fight song or the alma mater. However, when they go to a football
game or any other sporting event they will be standing proudly singing that same fight song or alma
mater. Berreby states that They ll learn contempt for that rival university, Oklahoma to their Texas,
Sacramento State to their U.C. Davis, Annapolis to their West Point (Berreby, 207). This quote is
saying the students will also learn who the rival university is, and they will build a hatred for them,
and root against them every chance they get. He also talks about some of the bigger rivalries between
colleges. Oklahoma and Texas have been rivals for years, but in the public eye society view this
rivalry for sports. No one thinks about whose graduates succeed more after college. Society s views on
rivalries deal with sports, and college students live off their sports teams. If the teams do well then the
campus is always more lively, but if the teams lose there is a down feeling all throughout the campus.
For example, before Penn State played Michigan in football this year there was a huge anticipation for
the game. Most of my

Photosynthesis Lab Report
The alternative hypothesis for the photosynthesis vs irradiance experiment was initially estimated to
be; Ulva grown under low light will have a steeper initial slope, and a lower Pmax than Ulva grown
under high light. The results have shown the initial slope (alpha) for the low light was 1.21 and for the
high light was 0.81, therefore low light did have a steeper slope that Ulva grown under low light. This
would be because in the low light Ulva, light is a more of a limiting factor than for the high light Ulva,
therefore the low light algae have adapted to harvest the light to suit their environment. This is done
by rapidly increasing or decreasing the pigment content in response to the light availability levels. By
doing this the low light ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The predicted hypothesis for this experiment was Ulva grown under low light will have a higher
chlorophyll a content and a higher chlorophyll b content than Ulva grown under high light. The reason
that this assumption was made is because Ulva that is growing in light limiting areas need to be able to
harvest as much light as possible while the light is available. Chlorophyll a is able to absorb light in
the red and blue spectrum while chlorophyll b is able to absorb light at intermediate wavelengths, as
discussed in the introduction. The T tests results that were calculated concluded to be: chlorophyll a
(0.17), chlorophyll b (0.47) and the total chlorophyll (0.37). Since all three p values are greater than
0.05, it can be concluded that there is no difference between the low and high light means, therefore
the predicted (alternate) hypothesis can be rejected. In theory the experiment should have resulted as
the alternative hypothesis predicted, but consequently errors have occurred that have prevents this
outcome. All the class data was combined, therefore nine replications were conducted which would
have eliminated human error, but unfortunately the Ulva used mightn t have been grown under the
high and low light conditions for long enough for the chlorophyll to adapt to the

Outline Of The Passing Of Grandson By Charles Chesnutt
I. Introduction: What are you capable of doing for your freedom? II. Thesis Statement: Author Charles
Chesnutt in the short story, The Passing of Grandison creates the main character to reveal the conflict
of man versus society to portray the lives of slaves in the 1950 s and what they had to endure to fit in a
white world. III. Body Paragraphs: 1. The first example that explores the conflict of man versus
society is shown when Colonel Owens warns Grandison about the abolitionists. It is a clear
demonstration that he is against the abolitionist and wants to make sure Grandison is too. He describes
them as desperate lunatics who starve runaway slaves until they die. Grandison seemed to agree with
Coronel Owens about how he felt towards the abolitionists. a. ... Show more content on

Author Viktor Osinubi states in his article, Privileging the African Metaphysics of Presence in
American Slave Culture , American slavery, like many perverse institutions, developed a peculiar
culture of fear and oppression, and thousands of slaves had to learn how to navigate this culture for
their survival . 2. Another example that reveals what slaves had to endure to fit in a white world was
when Grandison and Dick Owens traveled to the north. Dick sets up Grandison to have encounters
with abolitionist, but things do not go as planned. Dick writes letters to several abolitionists letting
them know he had a slave with him so they could come to look for Grandison. It seemed like no
matter what tactic Dick was using to make Grandison escape, it was not working. After many failed
attempts to make Grandison escape, Dick came to the realization that Grandison was a loyal slave
deserving of a medal for his loyalty. a. The author Leora H. McCloskey states in her article, The

The Violence Of Being Human

The Violence of Being Human
Essay #2
6/24/15
A picture s worth 1,000 words Does a picture say more than a video? A writer both gains and loses
leverage over the message of feeling he or she is trying to convey. Most humans would argue different
things. Some would say they conceive more from a picture because of their ability to use their
imagination and challenge themselves to a greater level. Others would argue that they appreciate more
from a video because they are left without any questions about what is happening during that moment
in time because of the visual confirmation. In Edward Said s essay States, Said uses photos that add
feeling and depth to portray the message of stereotyped Palestinians. The quote from States explains
how photos can be very significant in some cases, Identity who we are, where we come from, what we
are is difficult to maintain in exile. Most other people take their identity for granted. Not the
Palestinian, who is required to show proofs of identity more or less constantly. It is not only that we
are regarded as terrorists, but that our existence as native Arab inhabitants of Palestine, with
primordial rights there (and not elsewhere), is either denied or challenged (Said 546). As discussed
above, in some cases, photos can be more necessary than text. In States there is an image of an
unknown boy at a Gaza refugee camp wearing a Grease shirt (Said, 552). This image communicates
what might take many pages of description.

True Wealth, She Presents, By Juliet Schor
In Juliet Schor s True Wealth, she presents, argues for, and envisions an economy, which stresses on
the conceptualization of plentitude. In her publication, the main points can be broken down into three
separate categories: challenges, the ideals of plentitude, and the four fundamentals or solution towards
plentitude. The collection of formal analysis and insight towards key economical concepts and data
serves as a concrete foundation for her proposed framework of a sustainable economic and
environmental future.
In chapter 1, page 12 20, Schor present a series of statements to criticize on the sustainability and
concept of the BAU or defined as business as usual economy. She emphasizes that the BAU economy
will yield less of a return in profitability in the coming decades with a possibility towards economic
stagnation, and an increase in unemployment rate as a result of industrial decline in profitability.
Furthermore, she illustrates how there will be an increase in environmental pollution and damages to
the world, and scarcities in resources due to abnormal climate change in relation to the profitability of
natural resource industries such as agriculture and so forth.
Throughout chapter 2 and 3, Schor condemns the notion of BAU growth and a higher GDP. She
presents an Ecological Footprint, Carbon Footprint, and Biocapacity on page 60, and breaks down the
basis of the Environmental Kuznet Curve (EKC) on page 73 75. Through the analysis of these figures,

Why Was Charles Town Difficult Essay
Why was Charles Town Difficult to Settle? Settlers that came to America, specifically Charles Town,
always had hope but their futures were never certain. The Spanish were the first Europeans to explore
South Carolina. More land meant more riches and power, which is exactly what they were looking for.
Unfortunately they ran into some problems such as unfavorable weather, sickness, low food supplies,
and rancor from the natives therefore, the Spanish departed. About four decades later, Jean Ribault
brought a group of French Huguenots to South Carolina in search of religious freedom. Along with the
French, the Spanish made several attempts, but didn t succeed. In 1621, a grant was given to Sir
Robert Heath by King Charles I of England to try and settle the area below the Virginia colony. The
first attempt failed and he lost the grant, but later Charles II rewarded eight men with the ownership of
the land called Carolina. These eight men were called the Lords Proprietors. In 1670, a settlement was

Success Is The Most Misunderstood Driver Of Performance
Some popular theories claim that the amount a person is paid determines how well that person
produces and performs. However, new research suggests that there are more variables at play
pertaining to peak performance and link an employee s happiness to his or her productivity and a
company s success. Research indicates that performance on nearly every level productivity, creativity,
and engagement improves when people cultivate and work with a positive mind set. According to
Shawn Achor, the author of The Happiness Advantage, Happiness is perhaps the most misunderstood
driver of performance. For one, most people believe that success precedes happiness. Once I get a
promotion, I ll be happy, they think. Or, Once I hit my sales target, I ll feel great. But because success
is a moving target as soon as you hit your target, you raise it again the happiness that results from
success is fleeting. Achor explains that when employees develop a positive mind set, they become
more engaged, creative, motivated, energetic, resilient, and productive at work. He has observed this
effect in his role as a researcher and lecturer in 48 countries on the connection between employee
happiness and success.
In a study at the University of Warwick, economists discovered employees who were happy increased
their productivity by 12%, while unhappy workers were 10% less productive. The Warwick research
team stated: We find that human happiness has large and positive causal effects on

Viking Battle Tactics
Viking battle tactics and weaponry continues to impact our world today. From the unique technique
that the Viking performs in battle to the powerful weapons used. The Vikings were the first and
probably the last to introduce their unique battle tactic. Which is that they had no professional
standing army and did not fight regular formations (Viking Weapons and Warfare). The formation was
to charge towards their enemies all at once, catching their enemies off guard and giving the Vikings
the advantage of the upper hand. They were able to win battles with the formation due to the loyalty
bond between the Viking men and women with their lords (Viking Weapons and Warfare). Another
unique battle tactic the Vikings introduced was the spread and lay their weapons in the surrounding
area where the battle takes place beforehand, just in case the formation were to backfire (VIKINGS
MILITARY TACTICS AND FORTIFICATIONS).
This tactic was also an advantage if the enemies were to attack first, they would get injured first before

Charles Darwin
Many people get involved in negative aspects in life. Nowadays, it is all about violence and robberies.
To some people, the world is seen as a bad place to be because of all the negative minded people and
the impact they leave on others. Fortunately, not all people are negative minded; the world has good
people who do positive things to impact the world. In fact, Charles Darwin is a prime example of a
good person who made a positive impact on the world. Darwin signed to become a naturalist, came up
with the theory of evolution, and he also wrote a book, Origin of Species by Means of Natural
Selection explaining his life s work. It is important that people know and understand the importance of
Darwin and the theory of Evolution and Natural Selection. Darwin was an English naturalist.
According to an article, Darwin established that all species of life have descended over time from
common ancestors, and proposed the scientific theory that this branching pattern of evolution resulted
from a process that he called natural selection, in which the struggle for existence has a similar effect
to the artificial selection involved in selective breeding. Darwin s theory of Evolution and Natural
Selection shows how humans developed from one stage to the next. According to the article Darwin s
Theory of Evolution: The Origin of Species by Parmentier, Romain and Probert, Carly, Darwin came

Essay on Shirow s Ghost in the Shell
Shirow s Ghost in the Shell
The real beauty of Mamoru Oshii s adaptation of Shirow s Ghost in the Shell lies in its attention to
detail and the sheer cohesiveness of these details which collectively form complex ideas and plot. In
nearly every detail and every plot element lies some tie to the key themes of the anime. Some of the
main themes deal with the commodification of the flesh and body; the separation between one s spirit
and body; and the idea that a static environment or organism a weak stronghold. Here I will choose to
focus on how through details the film explicates these themes, rather than spending time extrapolating
or explaining the themes in detail myself.

They had no ghosts, but their simple resemblance to people (they were a form of simulcra as they

On a related point (and often in that same scene), we see examples of the commodifcation of people
their ghosts as well as their shells. From the beginning of the movie, one of the things that becomes
readily apparent is that Motoko is somewhat objectified in her repeated removal of clothing to bare
her thermoptic camoflaged skin. In the manga, she WORE clothing to achieve this effect. Even this
creation of her as a sexual object seems to point to the commodification of the body as spare parts put
together, and resultant ownership by the creators of the body, rather than the individuals who inhabit
them. If the objectification of women is a state of separation of the women and their bodies (and in
fact the act of doing this a means of ownership by the male), then there is really very little difference
between Motoko as a sexual object and Motoko as property of the government.
Further details which push forward the idea of the individual as a commodity occur at the climax
when Motoko asks 2501 why she was chosen, and the answer is that he saw something of himself in
her. That logic points to a sudden objectification and classification of even the ghosts, which are

River Stinchar Research Paper
The River Stinchar and its tributaries, the ferly burn and the Dalquairne burn show patterns which
follow the Bradshaw Model to a large extent. The typical upper course of a river is narrow in width,
shallow in depth and slow in velocity. The load size is very large and therefore, less of it. The bank
gradients are steep and the discharge levels are low. All these features gradually change as the river
flows downstream. This is shown in figure 2 The location chosen for study is The River Stinchar and
its tributaries which are located in South Ayrshire and flow south west from the Galloway Forest Park
and were chosen due to a previous visit to the area. The location can be seen in figure 1. There is a
single lane farm track that is actually a National Cycle Route that runs level with the burns and also
with the Stinchar itself which allows for easy access. This location was chosen because the waters
manage to cover the upper, middle and lower course in a small distance making it more efficient to
study. This area is very isolated and the nearest settlement is the village of Crosshill which is 8 miles
away. There were very few signs of life with only three or four houses, all of them being hill sheep
farms which meant that we did not disturb anyone while doing our study. ... Show more content on

Othello Essay
Othello Essay
William Shakespeare s Othello tells a story of the tragic downfall of a man through jealousy and
mistrust, influenced by the manipulative actions of another. Due to innumerable changes within
society over time, it is inevitable that a wide range of critical interpretations and readings of the text
will emerge.
My personal interpretation of the play draws from the concepts of the traditional Aristotelian views of
a tragedy. An Aristotelian interpretation concerns itself with whether Othello can be considered a true
tragedy. The two main principles which determine whether a text can be labelled as a true tragedy
include the plot and the characters.
The first principle within an Aristotelian tragedy includes the idea ... Show more content on

and the protagonist should be renowned and prosperous, so his change of fortune can be from good to
bad ... Despite being set in a society where black men were looked down upon, Othello is successfully
categorised as the renowned and prosperous protagonist. As a noble moor and husband to the young
fair Desdemona, his fortune changes from good to bad as the play progresses. His mistrust in
Desdemona leads him to murdering her, thus losing something he loved so dearly. Aristotle also
claims that The protagonist will mistakenly bring about his own downfall not because he is sinful or
morally weak, but because he does not know enough. This idea is also portrayed throughout the play.
Othello s downfall was not due to him being sinful or morally weak, but because he simply did not
know enough. His promoting of Cassio led Iago to become jealous and ultimately led to Othello s
downfall. Due to his lack of knowledge, Othello also fell victim to Iago s manipulative and cunning
nature leading to his growing trust in Iago and the questioning of Desdemona s loyalty.
Also, another aspect of an Aristotelian tragedy is the term hamartia . Hamartia refers to a weakness or
a mistake or more commonly as a tragic flaw. Othello s hamartia is expressed clearly through the play.
When Iago manipulates Othello into suspecting Desdemona of being unfaithful, his jealousy clouds
his mind where it has come to the point where all he cares about is proving

Energy System Advantages And Disadvantages
INTRODUCTION
1.1 BACKGROUND OF STUDY
According to statistics made in recent years, it is found that almost 33% of the world s populations do
not have access to electricity. Most of the non electrified regions are found in developing countries
like ours. These regions can be electrified either by extending the grids of the existing power systems
or by constructing isolated new power systems, which are alternative energy sources. In general, it is
preferred to go for the extension of the existing grids but they are not always affordable the fact that
most of the non electrified regions in developing countries are located in remote and difficult areas,
like hilly regions, forests, deserts and islands or even too far from the grid location, which demand
huge investment for grid extension (leake E. Weldmariam 2010, p.1).
The grid extension costs are primarily distance dependent and thus the investment cost increases
whenever the site, which is to be electrified from the main grid system, is further away. However, the
investment cost of PV Hybrid systems are mainly dependent on the generation capacity of the source
which in turn is related to the demand by the customers. Thus, for a small demand, a small investment
is needed and for a large demand, a larger investment is needed.
Therefore, decentralized and sustainable renewable energy systems have been promoted for
electrification of remote areas where grid extension is not

U.S Auto Industry s Market Share and Fluctuations
U.S Auto Industry s Market Share and Fluctuations
The U. S. auto industry s share of the market has experienced fluctuations over the past 50 years.
These fluctuations have been caused by many reasons, but some of the main reasons include quality,
price, and foreign competition.
The Ford Motor Company, General Motors Company, and the Chrysler Corporation,
a.k.a. The Big Three , are the three largest manufacturers of automobiles in the world. The Big Three
hold nearly 75% of the market and produce over 8 million automobiles per year. The largest
competitors of The Big Three are
Japanese auto producers that include Toyota, Nissan, and Honda. These three foreign manufacturers
hold 20% of the market and produce about 2.7 million ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Chrysler was able to capture its share of the market when it acquired Dodge
Brothers, Inc. and when Ford stopped production in 1927 to switch from producing the Model T to
producing the Model A. During the 1950 and 60s Chrysler took over the operations of several small
companies in France, Spain, and Britain. This enabled Chrysler to begin selling cars in Europe and
compete with Ford and GM on foreign markets. In 1970, Mitsubishi Motors of Japan began producing
compact cars under the Chrysler name to be sold in the United States. This led to a rise in Chrysler s
share of the market until the early 80s when Mitsubishi began using its own name. To counter this
move Chrysler formed a joint venture with
Renault of France to produce compact cars. Then in 1987 Chrysler purchased the
Italian company, Nuova Automobili F. Lamborghini, maker of expensive sports cars.
Chrysler also purchased the American Motors Corporation, the maker of Jeep products. These
purchases increased Chrysler s share of the market from 11% to
16.3% and continuing to rise. Chrysler produces nearly 3 million automobiles a year under the
Chrysler, Dodge, Plymouth, Jeep, and Eagle names.
Chrysler is also in the process of producing alternative fuel cars. These include vehicles powered by
electricity, liquefied natural gas, and gasoline methanol mixture.
The future share of the market for the Big Three should remain steady or even increase. Today, the Big
Three is able to produce top of the line, fuel

Cultural And Culture, Culture And Cultural Awareness Of Italy
Italy Cultural Awareness Culture gets defined as the shared behavior that usually exists within a given
group of people, and is known to have learned and develop with time through socialization in the
families, social groups, and schools. This group of people has to reach an agreement for that culture to
exist. Culture awareness therefore is the understanding that someone has about the difference between
themselves and other groups of people from other countries or even other backgrounds. It could be
differences regarding their behaviors, attitudes, beliefs, norms and their values. Different people do
things in a particular way; they view the world in various manners and even react to things in a variety
of ways (Whittaker, A. 2010 ). Culture awareness in Italy is the focus of this paper.
Broadly discussed, Italian culture entails, arts, family issues, food, architecture, and music. Although
other ethnicities live in this country, it becomes known that about 96% of Italy is composed of Italians.
The country s official language is Italian, and majority speaks it as their primary language. The Italian
family became viewed as a significant value. Most dwell in extended families rather than the nuclear
family who are only composed of father, mother, and children. The families gather for multiple
occasions throughout the year, and even more for no special occasion at all except to be with one
another, this tradition continue on with their children and their children s

The Causes of Inflationary Pressure on New Zealand’s Economy
The causes of inflationary pressure on New Zealand s economy
The Official Cash Rate is the interest rate set by the Reserve Bank of New Zealand to meet or keep
inflation under control since 1999. So it is a very important and basic monetary tool for New Zealand
s government to adjust or indicate the market interest rates with the banks in NZ. Generally, the
market interest rates are set or held around at the RBNZ S OCR level. For example, if the OCR is set
higher than before, then the market interest rates for savers is going to increase as well. As a result,
people in NZ will tend to spend less for goods and services and place more deposits with the Banks in
NZ. On the contrary, people in NZ for loans or mortgages are inclined to ... Show more content on

In addition, as a result of the lower OCR, the New Zealander is not preferred to place their money
with banks or financial institutions because of the lower saving interest rates. This will bring more
spending and expenditures into the markets in NZ. It leads to the inflation as well.
Besides, for New Zealand, it has a similar economic experience with other developed countries in the
first decade of the 21st century (Preston, 2011). With this relatively high speed development of New
Zealand s economy, its current account of the balance of the payment is kept with saving deficit for
many years due to very high government s spending and high growth in borrowing. There is no doubt
that the economy of NZ can be stimulated through this kind of approach. However, this also could
produce the inflation for this country because of the massive investments for the continued demand
from New Zealander (Preston, 2011). For example, there is a rapid rise on property prices in NZ as the
increased demands on that.

Essay On Mutual Funds
Mutual funds are investments vehicles which allow you to be broadly diversified by owning a large
array of stocks or a particular investment instrument. Funds are managed by a single individual or a

decision made by the fund manager(s) will determine whether you see a financial gain or loss on your

The only time a mutual fund would sell a stock in a passively managed fun is if the corresponding was
reconfigured. For example, when Microsoft was added to the S P 500 Index, those mutual funds who
mirrored the S P 500 Index, were forced to purchase Microsoft so they would stay in lock step. Index
mutual funds have three distinct advantages over actively managed funds.

Criminal Prosecution And The Judicial Process
Criminal prosecution develops through various stages in the judicial process beginning with the arrest
of an individual and ending at a point before, during, or after a trial. The criminal procedure is based
on the constitutional laws, statues, and court rulings that are meant to render justice in a criminal case.
The government must follow these procedures during the entirety of a criminal case. Beginning with
the initial investigation of an individual suspected of a crime, through the arrest, jailing, arraignment,
and thereafter. Although they must act within the boundaries of the law and protect an individual s
right to the 4th amendment of the constitution, police officers are allowed to conduct investigations,
perform search and seizures, and arrest individuals that are suspected of a crime. Police officers do not
need justification to stop someone and question them, but in order to search an individual a police
officer must have probable cause. In order to make an arrest, the officer must either observe an
individual committing a crime, have probable cause that a crime has been committed by that person,
or have a valid arrest warrant. There is no scale to measure what probable cause is, so at the time of
arrest, this is completely at the officer s discretion. This can cause officers to subdue the wrong
individuals or make faulty decisions. Judges have the final say on what constitutes probable cause, and
police officers must be able to ultimately justify their

Analysis Of Nicholas Carr, Sherry Trukle And Clive Thompsom
Sixing Jiao Dr. Tsurska Oct. 14th, 2015 SDCC 4 Summary Synthesis Despite the obvious difference in
their approaches to argue, Nicholas Carr, Sherry Trukle and Clive Thompsom have a common focus:
The effect of shared information. Nicholas Carr mainly focus on sharing of objective information, the
information that is related to science and fact. In the meaning time, Sherry Turkle writes about sharing
of subjective information, the personal and emotional messages that we deliver on social media. Clive
Thompsom talks about the sharing of both kinds of information. However, their views about sharing
of information are totally different. The similarities and conflicts between their arguments can actually
help us to compare and crystallize those different points of view on sharing information. In his Is
Google Making Us Stupid?, Nicholas Carr contends that the overload of information is chipping away
his capacity for concentration and contemplation (315). He admits with easy accessibility of
information online, the process of research has became much simpler(Carr 315). Yet such benefit
comes with a cost. Our brains are rewired as the cost of such convenience(Carr 316). As the result, we
may well be reading more today than we did in the 1970s or 1980s...but it s a different kind of
reading, and behind it lies a different kind of thinking (Carr 317). Carr argues the forming of such
habits can prevent us from deep reading and thinking. In fact, he provides may evidences in the

The Toronto Star As A Local Newspaper
COMM 2P98

The Toronto Star as a Local Newspaper
Local Canadian daily newspapers pose an important role in communication and media industries. The
continuing publications of local newspaper outlets encompass articles, news, advertisements, and can
be accessible either online or through print. Newspapers are parted into diverse segments of political
events, entertainment, crime, business, sports, and the weather to name a few categories. By
constructing different categories, the diverse matters create a space for readers to participate in local
and global public spheres. The public sphere permits individuals to discuss freely regarding areas
ranging anywhere from lifestyle to societal dilemmas, evoking conversation and debate with the
possibility of influencing political action. Journalists and the local newspaper open up the sphere to
interested parties who then converse on issues of mutual interests, trailed by a common opinion or
finding, to be made by either the writer or the readers of the media outlet. It is difficult to imagine how
life would have functioned without the emergence of newspapers perhaps the bourgeois would still
have represented the sphere of private people coming together as the public. The Toronto Star is an
excellent example of a local newspaper and thus, will be analyzed in terms of its contribution in
fostering the public sphere through its content, along with its relationship with its readers and

The Role Of An Island In E. Lockhart s We Were Lias
In We Were Liars by E. Lockhart, the setting of an island is crucial to the story, both in a symbolic
sense and logistically. As Cadence struggles to regain her memory and discover her family s secrets,
the island plays an important role in her story. One way the island does this is by showing the isolation
of the family from the outside world. In a book, islands often represent seclusion. Islands are
surrounded by water and thus disconnected from outside civilization, just as the Sinclairs are. Cadence
comes from a very privileged family, a family with very little perspective. The island embodies the
family s unawareness of the issues in the world. Another way in which the setting adds meaning to the
story is how only the surface of an island

  • 2. How Did Operation Barbarossa Invade Russia 1941: Operation Barbarossa Russia tried to avoid war with Germany at the start of World War II, but this changed on June 22, 1941. Operation Barbarossa joined Russia into the World War II. This was the largest German military attack, and unfortunately for the Russians, a very well planned operation. Operation Barbarossa s name originated from the Holy Roman emperor, Fredrick Barbarossa, who set out to conquer the Holy Land. This name was completely appropriate since the goal of Operation Barbarossa was to capture the capitol of Russia, Moscow. Operation Barbarossa was an attack by the Germans to join Russia into the war with Germany. The plan of Operation Barbarossa started in July of 1940. Hitler decided he wanted to make an attack on Russia. He saw a threat to his oil supply in Romania who was one of Germany s allies. Hitler signed the first order of Barbarossa on December 18, 1940. Germany was breaking a non aggression pact with Russia on August 23, 1939 with this operation. Although, it wasn t just Germany who was paranoid; Russia was also suspicious of Germany. Germany s bold idea of attacking Russia wasn t just to take over Russian territory, but destroy the Red Army (Soviet army) with large battles and enormous amounts of demolition. After much strategy and months of preparation, Germany invaded Russia on June 22, 1941. Germany was well prepared with three separate army division in the North, South, and Central areas of Russia s eastern border. Germany had about three ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Figurative Language In The Laughing Heart By Charles Bukowski The poem The Laughing Heart was written by Charles Bukowski. The poem is about taking chances and living life to the fullest. The poem The Journey was written by Mary Oliver. This poem was about finding inner strength. Both poems have unique themes, tones, and creative figurative language. Both poets use several examples of figurative language and tone to develop the theme of the poems. The poem The Laughing Heart displays several examples of figurative language to convey the theme of the poem. The poet uses figurative language to tell the reader to take chances, risks, and to live life to the fullest. You can t beat death but you can beat death in life, sometimes everybody dies at some point but that shouldn t stop you from being lively and taking risks (Bukowski 12,13). Charles Bukowski is trying to tell the reader that life is worthwhile and to live up to your own life expectations. There is a light somewhere it may not be much light but it beats the darkness the poet is saying to not let yourself be taken by the struggles of life but, to pursue through the difficulties and find more opportunities that will be more worthwhile(Bukowski 5,6.7). The Journey uses figurative language to convey the theme of inner strength. The wind pried with its stiff fingers at the very foundations Mary Oliver uses personification to show that there are things trying to destroy what you had built (Oliver 14,15,16). Whether it be wind or an actual person the poet is stating that you must endure it until you are strong enough to fight it. And there was a new voice which you slowly recognized as your own, that kept you company your voice isn t something that can physically keep you company (Oliver 27, 28, 29, 30) However, you can find your own words and voice as you find your own strengths despite what anybody says. The tones of the poems help define the meaning of the poem. The tone of The Laughing Heart is urgency. The poet is speaking directly to the reader and advising you that your life is your life (Bukowski 1). Don t let it be clubbed into dank submission. be on the watch the poet is advising you and warning you to not let yourself be swept away by the darkness and evilness of the world and ... • 4. Power And Control In William Shakespeare s The Tempest In William Shakespeare s romantic comedy play, The Tempest, we witness an endless amount of power struggles and scheming amongst characters, all in the hopes of achieving one thing: complete control over the remote island in which they re stranded on. Throughout the play, characters choose their allies, set targets on their enemies, and manipulate situations and one another in an attempt to reach their end goals. Each character that strives to colonize the island has different motives based on their place in the social hierarchy and their relationships to fellow characters. However, each character seeking control over the island not only has their own motives, but also their own vision for what the island could be under their sole jurisdiction. The three main players seeking to colonize the island and make their own vision of what it could be into a reality are Prospero, Caliban, and Gonzalo. Between these three characters we see relationships between the colonizer, the colonized, and one character who envisions the island as an opportunity to create the perfect society. Power and control are prominent themes in Shakespeare s The Tempest, as the audience is faced with severe questions of morality and who has rightful claim of the island. As the play begins, we learn of the master/servant relationships that are already in place on the island. Prospero is the current all powerful and omnipotent ruler of the island, who uses strategical social tactics of abuse and manipulation ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

They make it very easy to donate also, they have web pages to guide people and show people where to donate and they also give information about human trafficking too, like statistics to see just how big of a problem it is. Besides these fundraiser, giving these victims jobs is helpful too because a lot of them were in poverty before being trafficked. • 6. The Importance Of Looking Before You Leap Essay The Importance of Looking Before You Leap Media portrays romantic relationships as a whirlwind of emotions that ends in a happily ever after in the course of a few days; children s movies are a larger perpetrator of this idea. But how accurate is this to real life relationships? Research, including John Van Epp s book How to Avoid Falling in Love with a Jerk, tells us that a healthy relationship is built on more than the initial emotions we feel. In chapter one of How to Avoid Falling in Love with a Jerk, Epp discusses the importance of the love is blind phenomenon where we either one, don t know how to identify predictors of relationship dissatisfaction or two, become so attached to someone that we minimize predictors in the belief that things will get better. The love is blind phenomenon causes discourse between the heart and mind, two things that need to be harmonious in order for a healthy relationship. Epp also discusses the predictors of (dis)satisfaction in order to find a partner that complements us and identify things that could result in potential problems in the relationship. For the first chapter, I found the predictors to be the most interesting point in this chapter. Epp identified five categories that seemed to play a large role in marital satisfaction and they are compatibility potential, relationship skills, patterns from other relationships, family patterns and background, and character and conscience traits. Compatibility potential is the similarities ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

What makes students so enthusiastic for their school? In Laura Randall s Things You Only Do in College and David Berreby s It Takes a Tribe both writers explore college culture but come up with decidedly different results. Randall argues that college students traditions are embarrassing to the university, and students should be focusing on schoolwork not traditions; but Berreby suggests traditions are for the pride which students have for their school. In this essay I argue that students are passionate for their school, and the traditions they participate in are for the pride they have for the school. Randall ... However, when they get to the university or college they will participate in the traditions. Not every student at Penn State knows the fight song or the alma mater. Berreby states that They ll learn contempt for that rival university, Oklahoma to their Texas, Sacramento State to their U.C. Davis, Annapolis to their West Point (Berreby, 207). This quote is saying the students will also learn who the rival university is, and they will build a hatred for them, and root against them every chance they get. He also talks about some of the bigger rivalries between colleges. Oklahoma and Texas have been rivals for years, but in the public eye society view this rivalry for sports. No one thinks about whose graduates succeed more after college. Society s views on rivalries deal with sports, and college students live off their sports teams. Photosynthesis Lab Report The alternative hypothesis for the photosynthesis vs irradiance experiment was initially estimated to be; Ulva grown under low light will have a steeper initial slope, and a lower Pmax than Ulva grown under high light. The results have shown the initial slope (alpha) for the low light was 1.21 and for the high light was 0.81, therefore low light did have a steeper slope that Ulva grown under low light. This would be because in the low light Ulva, light is a more of a limiting factor than for the high light Ulva, therefore the low light algae have adapted to harvest the light to suit their environment. This is done by rapidly increasing or decreasing the pigment content in response to the light availability levels. By doing this the low light ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The predicted hypothesis for this experiment was Ulva grown under low light will have a higher chlorophyll a content and a higher chlorophyll b content than Ulva grown under high light. The reason that this assumption was made is because Ulva that is growing in light limiting areas need to be able to harvest as much light as possible while the light is available. Chlorophyll a is able to absorb light in the red and blue spectrum while chlorophyll b is able to absorb light at intermediate wavelengths, as discussed in the introduction. The T tests results that were calculated concluded to be: chlorophyll a (0.17), chlorophyll b (0.47) and the total chlorophyll (0.37). Since all three p values are greater than 0.05, it can be concluded that there is no difference between the low and high light means, therefore the predicted (alternate) hypothesis can be rejected. In theory the experiment should have resulted as the alternative hypothesis predicted, but consequently errors have occurred that have prevents this outcome. All the class data was combined, therefore nine replications were conducted which would have eliminated human error, but unfortunately the Ulva used mightn t have been grown under the high and low light conditions for long enough for the chlorophyll to adapt to the ... III. Body Paragraphs: 1. The first example that explores the conflict of man versus society is shown when Colonel Owens warns Grandison about the abolitionists. A writer both gains and loses leverage over the message of feeling he or she is trying to convey. Most humans would argue different things. Some would say they conceive more from a picture because of their ability to use their imagination and challenge themselves to a greater level. Others would argue that they appreciate more from a video because they are left without any questions about what is happening during that moment in time because of the visual confirmation. In Edward Said s essay States, Said uses photos that add feeling and depth to portray the message of stereotyped Palestinians. The quote from States explains how photos can be very significant in some cases, Identity who we are, where we come from, what we are is difficult to maintain in exile. Most other people take their identity for granted. Not the Palestinian, who is required to show proofs of identity more or less constantly. It is not only that we are regarded as terrorists, but that our existence as native Arab inhabitants of Palestine, with primordial rights there (and not elsewhere), is either denied or challenged (Said 546). As discussed above, in some cases, photos can be more necessary than text. In States there is an image of an unknown boy at a Gaza refugee camp wearing a Grease shirt (Said, 552). This image communicates what might take many pages of description. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In her publication, the main points can be broken down into three separate categories: challenges, the ideals of plentitude, and the four fundamentals or solution towards plentitude. The collection of formal analysis and insight towards key economical concepts and data serves as a concrete foundation for her proposed framework of a sustainable economic and environmental future. In chapter 1, page 12 20, Schor present a series of statements to criticize on the sustainability and concept of the BAU or defined as business as usual economy. She emphasizes that the BAU economy will yield less of a return in profitability in the coming decades with a possibility towards economic stagnation, and an increase in unemployment rate as a result of industrial decline in profitability. Furthermore, she illustrates how there will be an increase in environmental pollution and damages to the world, and scarcities in resources due to abnormal climate change in relation to the profitability of natural resource industries such as agriculture and so forth. Throughout chapter 2 and 3, Schor condemns the notion of BAU growth and a higher GDP. The Spanish were the first Europeans to explore South Carolina. More land meant more riches and power, which is exactly what they were looking for. Unfortunately they ran into some problems such as unfavorable weather, sickness, low food supplies, and rancor from the natives therefore, the Spanish departed. About four decades later, Jean Ribault brought a group of French Huguenots to South Carolina in search of religious freedom. However, new research suggests that there are more variables at play pertaining to peak performance and link an employee s happiness to his or her productivity and a company s success. Research indicates that performance on nearly every level productivity, creativity, and engagement improves when people cultivate and work with a positive mind set. According to Shawn Achor, the author of The Happiness Advantage, Happiness is perhaps the most misunderstood driver of performance. For one, most people believe that success precedes happiness. Once I get a promotion, I ll be happy, they think. Or, Once I hit my sales target, I ll feel great. But because success is a moving target as soon as you hit your target, you raise it again the happiness that results from success is fleeting. Achor explains that when employees develop a positive mind set, they become more engaged, creative, motivated, energetic, resilient, and productive at work. He has observed this effect in his role as a researcher and lecturer in 48 countries on the connection between employee happiness and success. In a study at the University of Warwick, economists discovered employees who were happy increased their productivity by 12%, while unhappy workers were 10% less productive. The formation was to charge towards their enemies all at once, catching their enemies off guard and giving the Vikings the advantage of the upper hand. Nowadays, it is all about violence and robberies. To some people, the world is seen as a bad place to be because of all the negative minded people and the impact they leave on others. Fortunately, not all people are negative minded; the world has good people who do positive things to impact the world. In fact, Charles Darwin is a prime example of a good person who made a positive impact on the world. Darwin signed to become a naturalist, came up with the theory of evolution, and he also wrote a book, Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection explaining his life s work. It is important that people know and understand the importance of Darwin and the theory of Evolution and Natural Selection. Darwin was an English naturalist. According to an article, Darwin established that all species of life have descended over time from common ancestors, and proposed the scientific theory that this branching pattern of evolution resulted from a process that he called natural selection, in which the struggle for existence has a similar effect to the artificial selection involved in selective breeding. An Aristotelian interpretation concerns itself with whether Othello can be considered a true tragedy. The two main principles which determine whether a text can be labelled as a true tragedy include the plot and the characters. The first principle within an Aristotelian tragedy includes the idea ... Despite being set in a society where black men were looked down upon, Othello is successfully categorised as the renowned and prosperous protagonist. As a noble moor and husband to the young fair Desdemona, his fortune changes from good to bad as the play progresses. His mistrust in Desdemona leads him to murdering her, thus losing something he loved so dearly. Aristotle also claims that The protagonist will mistakenly bring about his own downfall not because he is sinful or morally weak, but because he does not know enough. This idea is also portrayed throughout the play. Othello s downfall was not due to him being sinful or morally weak, but because he simply did not know enough. His promoting of Cassio led Iago to become jealous and ultimately led to Othello s downfall. Due to his lack of knowledge, Othello also fell victim to Iago s manipulative and cunning nature leading to his growing trust in Iago and the questioning of Desdemona s loyalty. Also, another aspect of an Aristotelian tragedy is the term hamartia . Hamartia refers to a weakness or a mistake or more commonly as a tragic flaw. Othello s hamartia is expressed clearly through the play. When Iago manipulates Othello into suspecting Desdemona of being unfaithful, his jealousy clouds his mind where it has come to the point where all he cares about is proving ... • 21. Energy System Advantages And Disadvantages INTRODUCTION 1.1 BACKGROUND OF STUDY According to statistics made in recent years, it is found that almost 33% of the world s populations do not have access to electricity. Most of the non electrified regions are found in developing countries like ours. These regions can be electrified either by extending the grids of the existing power systems or by constructing isolated new power systems, which are alternative energy sources. In general, it is preferred to go for the extension of the existing grids but they are not always affordable the fact that most of the non electrified regions in developing countries are located in remote and difficult areas, like hilly regions, forests, deserts and islands or even too far from the grid location, which demand huge investment for grid extension (leake E. Weldmariam 2010, p.1). The grid extension costs are primarily distance dependent and thus the investment cost increases whenever the site, which is to be electrified from the main grid system, is further away. However, the investment cost of PV Hybrid systems are mainly dependent on the generation capacity of the source which in turn is related to the demand by the customers. Thus, for a small demand, a small investment is needed and for a large demand, a larger investment is needed. Therefore, decentralized and sustainable renewable energy systems have been promoted for electrification of remote areas where grid extension is not ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

S. auto industry s share of the market has experienced fluctuations over the past 50 years. These fluctuations have been caused by many reasons, but some of the main reasons include quality, price, and foreign competition. The Ford Motor Company, General Motors Company, and the Chrysler Corporation, a.k.a. The Big Three , are the three largest manufacturers of automobiles in the world. The Big Three hold nearly 75% of the market and produce over 8 million automobiles per year. Chrysler was able to capture its share of the market when it acquired Dodge Brothers, Inc. and when Ford stopped production in 1927 to switch from producing the Model T to producing the Model A. During the 1950 and 60s Chrysler took over the operations of several small companies in France, Spain, and Britain. This enabled Chrysler to begin selling cars in Europe and compete with Ford and GM on foreign markets. In 1970, Mitsubishi Motors of Japan began producing compact cars under the Chrysler name to be sold in the United States. This led to a rise in Chrysler s share of the market until the early 80s when Mitsubishi began using its own name. To counter this move Chrysler formed a joint venture with Renault of France to produce compact cars. Then in 1987 Chrysler purchased the Italian company, Nuova Automobili F. Lamborghini, maker of expensive sports cars. Chrysler also purchased the American Motors Corporation, the maker of Jeep products. These purchases increased Chrysler s share of the market from 11% to 16.3% and continuing to rise. Chrysler produces nearly 3 million automobiles a year under the Chrysler, Dodge, Plymouth, Jeep, and Eagle names. Chrysler is also in the process of producing alternative fuel cars. These include vehicles powered by electricity, liquefied natural gas, and gasoline methanol mixture. The future share of the market for the Big Three should remain steady or even increase. • 24. The Causes of Inflationary Pressure on New Zealand’s Economy The causes of inflationary pressure on New Zealand s economy The Official Cash Rate is the interest rate set by the Reserve Bank of New Zealand to meet or keep inflation under control since 1999. So it is a very important and basic monetary tool for New Zealand s government to adjust or indicate the market interest rates with the banks in NZ. Generally, the market interest rates are set or held around at the RBNZ S OCR level. For example, if the OCR is set higher than before, then the market interest rates for savers is going to increase as well. As a result, people in NZ will tend to spend less for goods and services and place more deposits with the Banks in NZ. On the contrary, people in NZ for loans or mortgages are inclined to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In addition, as a result of the lower OCR, the New Zealander is not preferred to place their money with banks or financial institutions because of the lower saving interest rates. This will bring more spending and expenditures into the markets in NZ. It leads to the inflation as well. Besides, for New Zealand, it has a similar economic experience with other developed countries in the first decade of the 21st century (Preston, 2011). With this relatively high speed development of New Zealand s economy, its current account of the balance of the payment is kept with saving deficit for many years due to very high government s spending and high growth in borrowing. There is no doubt that the economy of NZ can be stimulated through this kind of approach. However, this also could produce the inflation for this country because of the massive investments for the continued demand from New Zealander (Preston, 2011). • 26. Criminal Prosecution And The Judicial Process Criminal prosecution develops through various stages in the judicial process beginning with the arrest of an individual and ending at a point before, during, or after a trial. The criminal procedure is based on the constitutional laws, statues, and court rulings that are meant to render justice in a criminal case. The government must follow these procedures during the entirety of a criminal case. Beginning with the initial investigation of an individual suspected of a crime, through the arrest, jailing, arraignment, and thereafter. Although they must act within the boundaries of the law and protect an individual s right to the 4th amendment of the constitution, police officers are allowed to conduct investigations, perform search and seizures, and arrest individuals that are suspected of a crime. Police officers do not need justification to stop someone and question them, but in order to search an individual a police officer must have probable cause. In order to make an arrest, the officer must either observe an individual committing a crime, have probable cause that a crime has been committed by that person, or have a valid arrest warrant. There is no scale to measure what probable cause is, so at the time of arrest, this is completely at the officer s discretion. This can cause officers to subdue the wrong individuals or make faulty decisions. Judges have the final say on what constitutes probable cause, and police officers must be able to ultimately justify their ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

As Cadence struggles to regain her memory and discover her family s secrets, the island plays an important role in her story. One way the island does this is by showing the isolation of the family from the outside world. In a book, islands often represent seclusion. Islands are surrounded by water and thus disconnected from outside civilization, just as the Sinclairs are. Cadence comes from a very privileged family, a family with very little perspective. The island embodies the family s unawareness of the issues in the world. Another way in which the setting adds meaning to the story is how only the surface of an island ...
