Writing About A Book In An Essay KingstonLisa Brewer
This document discusses the effects of reducing the cash reserve ratio on key economic indicators. Reducing the ratio increases the money supply by allowing banks to lend out more of their reserves. This likely leads to higher inflation, GDP, and employment as more money is available for lending and economic activity. However, regulators must balance these benefits against the inflation risks of increasing the money supply. The document examines both sides of using cash reserve ratio adjustments as a monetary policy tool.

The document discusses ambiguity in an Italian public health advertisement. The ad shows two images - one of smiling white couples above text saying "good companions to cultivate" and one below of marginalized teenagers with drug paraphernalia and text saying "bad companions to abandon." However, the word "companion" and images used create ambiguity over whether the message encourages or discourages drug use. Playing with the positioning and subjects of the images could further manipulate the interpretation of the ad's message.

By forbidding lay investiture and asserting the pope's supremacy, the Dictatus Papae was a pivotal document in the power struggle between church and state.

The document discusses how studying the behavior of non-human primates and human primates in literature and films from the class can help explain evolutionary understandings of primate behavior. It notes that research on human and non-human primates may shed light on the theory of evolution since the primate lineage is thought to go back at least 65 million years. The author developed a thesis comparing the differences and similarities between non-human and human primate behavior and how this can lead to understanding evolution differently.

8. What Was The Expansion Of The Westward Expansion
The Westward Expansion Transcontinental Railroad
Didn t the traveling time from coast to coast use to take months? Aren t you glad you don t have to
take hazardous and slow wagons currently? During the Industrial Revolution, many factors
contributed to the rapid expansion of the West. Before the transcontinental railroad was fully
completed, the travel time from coast to coast was costly and took months through very troublesome
terrain. Even though there were several constructive results from inventions, there were also dire
consequences. The improvements made were great but, they came with substantial economic and
political costs. One of these great improvements was the construction of the railroad. This helped
many Americans to travel west in a week instead months. Towns sprung up all along the railways,
increasing the population of the west dramatically.
Why build the transcontinental railroad? Growth of the west coast. The west coast had an abundance
of gold and silver. The trip to the west would become shorter. Business would rise with the connection
of the east and west. The solidification of the Union would become possible. Last but not least the
achievement of the Manifest Destiny.
The transcontinental railroad is accepted as one of the greatest accomplishments during the 19th
century. In a petition submitted to the U.S. Congress on Jan. 29, 1845, New York merchant Asa
Whitney proposed one of the most audacious ventures in American history: the construction of a
railroad from Lake Michigan to the Pacific Ocean, spanning two thirds of the North American
continent. In bold and stirring words, describing how such a rail network would revolutionize the
entire commerce of the world, Whitney urged the federal government to underwrite the ambitious
project. (Visions of Empire). The Pacific Railroad Act of 1862 was authorized and passed, the railroad
companies began to build a transcontinental railroad. Connecting over 2,000 miles of land, crossing
deserts and mountains. It s an amazing achievement since it lowered the traveling time to just a few
days compared to the months.
After a long six years, the first United States transcontinental railroad was completed. The ceremony
date was on the golden

9. Theory of Capital Structure
Theory of Capital Structure A Review
Stein Frydenberg£ April 29, 2004
ABSTRACT This paper is a review of the central theoretical literature. The most important arguments
for what could determine capital structure is the pecking order theory and the static trade off theory.
These two theories are reviewed, but neither of them provides a complete description of the situation
and why some firms prefer equity and others debt under different circumstances. The paper is ended
by a summary where the option price paradigm is proposed as a comprehensible model that can
augment most partial arguments. The capital structure and corporate finance literature is filled with
different models, but few, if any give a complete picture.

The theoretical models of capital structure in a world in which capital markets are not perfect relates
capital structure to several measurable and nonmeasurable attributes of a firm. The irrelevance
proposition provides conditions under which the capital structure of a firm is irrelevant to total firm
value. Turning the irrelevance proposition around, the proposition also tells us which factors that may
be the causes of corporate capital structure. The assumptions giving irrelevance as a result may cause
relevance if they are broken. The question is, do they, and if so to what extent? And what if several
imperfections exist simultaneously? Besides the irrelevance hypothesis of Modigliani and Miller there
are several other theories relevant to capital structure. These are the asset substitution hypothesis,
under investment hypothesis, the free cash flow hypothesis, the signaling hypothesis and product
markets arguments. 3
.1. Value Additive Model of Capital Structure State preference models have been used extensively in
the finance literature as a general framework for explanation of the irrelevance hypothesis. Both
Lewellen and Mauer (1988), Kraus and Litzenberger (1973), Stiglitz (1969) and Hirshleifer (1966)
have used this approach.

10. Why Was Julius Caesar Noble
In the play Julius Caesar, by William Shakespeare, I think that the noblest roman of them all was
Brutus. I have many reasons for why I think this, here are a few. First off Brutus was seen as powerful
public figure to Rome. Secondly Brutus killed Caesar because he felt Caesar was becoming too
powerful and it would to be good for the people of Rome. Lastly other powerful figures on the story
saw him to be not only the noblest roman of them all but a true war hero. From this we can see that
Brutus was noble because everything he did was for the good of Rome. Throughout the story Brutus
was seen as a powerful public figure. He was a great friend to Caesar and a good husband to his wife.
Brutus always put Rome before himself. This proves his nobility because he was not selfish and he
thought of his people before himself. He is also seen as noble because he was faithful to his wife and

between the culture and attitudes of the Europeans and the Native Americans. It further describes how
the Europeans came to the New World and committed genocide against the Native Americans in order
to get land and gold from them, which displayed the cruelty and greed of the European explorers

Zinn mentions throughout the text about how awfully treated women were compared to men and how
they were considered inferior to men. Zinn believes that the discrimination and mistreatment of
women during the Colonial time period was the leading cause of the first movements of women s
rights in America. Zinn initially talks about the difference of treatment between Native American
women and women in the colonies, as he writes, It would be an exaggeration to say that women were
treated equally with men; but they were treated with respect, and the communal nature of the society
gave them a more important place. (Zinn) This quotation shows how the Native American women
were treated with respect from others while the women in the colonies were sexually abused and
considered worthless by their masters and husbands. Zinn uses this evidence to really show the better
treatment of Native American women compared to the women in the colonies. In addition, Zinn goes
into further detail about the treatment of women and references to what the slave traders saw, as they
state, I saw pregnant women give birth to babies while chained to corpses which our drunken

300 Spartan warriors facing Xerxes army of 150,000 men. What they do not know are the actual real
accounts that happened during the time of this particular Persian invasion. When Herodotus wrote the
Histories he mentions this battle in great detail. His thirst for knowledge gives us a better perspective
of Spartans and Persians since his writings have lasted since they were written. In the Histories
Herodotus gives pure examples of Xerxes attitudes towards the Greeks along with his superstitious

When Xerxes sent his men through the hidden path around the mountain Leonidas still stood his
ground with his Spartans even though he allowed most of the troops to return home. This shows in
Spartan culture a man would rather die in battle than run and be dishonored. Leonidas was
superstitious about the oracle that determined a king shall fall from Sparta or Sparta itself will be
destroyed. The people of Sparta must have had much intelligence to understand how to create this
choke point of the other army. Many of the different battles even after Thermopylae show that the
Spartans were versatile toward warfare.
Honor is shown throughout this narrative. Demaratus warns Xerxes about facing the Greeks in battle

14. Appearance Vs Reality Research Paper
Reality? What Reality?
Meditation can be a double edged tool. It can reveal the nature of actual reality, but in doing so it also
reveals many other states of consciousness that we experience as real but are not usually aware of their
true nature, depending on our present level of awareness. So, while meditation can show us true
reality, in the process we may realize that we have been living in a conceptual representation of reality
for perhaps years or even a whole lifetime.
Many of those who pursue meditation as a means of achieving self realization or self awareness reach
a point where they suddenly begin to perceive on an intuitive level, a truth that is fundamental to their
well being and sense of self and security, at which point some choose to continue and some choose to
discontinue the journey of meditation. In fact, this is a well known obstacle in meditation that has to
do with the true nature of reality and our perception or lack of perception of what is real.
Who Or What Is Aware
Suppose we go on an intellectual version of an actual meditation experience. We are sitting in a quiet
room surrounded by the familiar objects of our life. We place a candle on a low table before where we
intend to sit and meditate. There is little light in the room and we light the candle before us and begin

This particular meditation discipline is about achieving enlightenment through insight. Perceiving
awareness as a threat is a sure sign that we are not living in the real world but rather some conceptual
reality produced by our own minds ability to imagine and create mental constructs of what is real. And
with a long enough exposure to this, we will of course begin to believe and experience it as real. That
is, as long as we don t attempt to develop any true level of awareness though something like
meditation which would eventually reveal the

Symbolism in The Scarlet Letter
Nathaniel Hawthorne isn t noted for perfecting any famous literary style, for writing multiple best
sellers, or even for contributing largely to classic American literature. His only real claim to fame is
The Scarlet Letter: a novel that was originally only meant to be yet another Hawthorne short story.
Because of this, it actually possesses many short story characteristics. It is simpler and more complete
than his other novels. (James 285) It also has an excellent plot backed by an expert use of literary
techniques. One technique Hawthorne used was borrowed solely from drama: the use of the aside.
Reverend Arthur Dimmesdale delivers an aside in the midst of the action in chapter three, ... Show

At first, the scarlet letter meant Adulteress and was a sign of scorn. It was a brand used for easy
identification of an untrustworthy criminal. But as time progressed, and the initial shock of such
actions as adultery subsided, the townspeople, especially the women, took note of the fact that Hester
had accepted the responsibility of her actions by sewing the scarlet letter herself. They also observed
that she did so with unmatched precision. Eventually this made them yearn for needlepoint talent like
she possessed. They began relying on her to sew exquisite patterns for them, gradually inviting her
back in their society. By wearing the scarlet letter proudly, Hester had eventually changed the meaning
of the A from Adulteress to Able. The townspeople saw Hester for her inner beauty, not for the scarlet
letter forever branded onto her bosom. They realized the sacrifice and pain that she went through to
regain their trust and respect. Gradually, throughout the novel the scarlet letter becomes an article of
pride, and Hester a woman deserving respect.
One object that holds great symbolic value is often over looked and discarded as an unimportant
detail. It is the black glove that Dimmesdale left on the scaffold after his night vigil of regret and guilt.
What, on the surface, may seem as a minute, petty detail becomes rather powerful when the reader
realizes that the

16. Success Is An Important Aspects Of Success
My ideal of success is setting and accomplishing goals you have set for yourself. Success can be
achieved through determination, staying focused, and overcoming obstacles. Determination is a
quality that makes you continue trying. I feel determination is an important aspect of achieving
success because staying determined to achieve a goal, gets you one step closer to being successful in
the goal you ve set for yourself. I was able to achieve my goal of becoming a good basketball player,
through determination. I started basketball when I was 12 years old, with no experience. I was scared
to get into something totally different than the usual sports I played but wanted to achieve and be
successful as a player and a teammate, so I started asking for feedback on everything I did, like
dribbling and shooting hoops. I made sure I was at every practice and game with a positive attitude
and ready to learn. I also asked for coaching assistance and practiced once a week with a coach, in
order to strive at being the best player I could be. A few months went by and my routine of practicing
every day, asking for feedback, and staying determined to be better, paid off, I was not only a better

Summary o The authors of this paper indicate an apparently novel method for improving the cellular
uptake of DNA origami based drug delivery nanocarriers. While the transport protein, transferrin (Tf),
has been used to functionalize other types of drug delivery nanocarriers, it had yet to be incorporated
into nanocarriers made via DNA origami prior to this publication. The authors demonstrate successful
functionalization of Tf to a specific morphology of DNA origami using gel shift analysis and atomic

The seemingly small number of citations is only potentially problematic when considering the amount
of research central to each term; it is difficult to believe that only a single source can accurately depict
the entirety of DNA based computation, pH sensors, molecular pegboards, or protein encapsulation.
Additional sources may help demonstrate the potential importance and relevance of DNA based
nanostructures. o That being said, the number of citations referenced specifically when describing
transferrin increases notably, which is important since transferrin is central to the paper while the
terms mentioned in the previous bullet point are less immediately relevant. o Overall, the quality of
citations appears to be sufficiently high, as does the quantity. This holds true especially when
motivating the use of DNA and transferrin as constituent parts of a novel drug delivery platform.
Novelty The authors of this paper appear to demonstrate a novel functionalization for DNA origami
based drug delivery nanocarriers: transferrin. It is noted, however, that transferrin has been used as a
targeting ligand in other forms of nanocarriers. Perhaps this detail should be more clearly stated to
clarify that neither transferrin nor DNA origami are novel concepts, but rather their successful
combination

18. How Motivational Appeal Can Be Using Deceive Others Essay
There are many ways motivational appeal can be utilized to deceive others. In the film Promised Land
two of the main characters, Sue and Steve, utilize the motivational concept of fear to enact deception.
However, Frank Yates (a respected member of the community who opposes the town s acceptance of
Global) employs fear and ingratiation to undermine the natural gas company and expose the deception
that Global has employed, not only to the town but to Steve Butler as well. This paper will illustrate
how fear, warmth, and ingratiation play a vital role in the development and ultimate detection of
Global s deception.
Steve Butler and Sue Thomason are two sales executive from the natural gas company, Global, they
visit the town of Mckinley with the intentions of leasing the town for natural gas drilling; in order to
accomplish this Butler and Thomason enact deception to convince the residents of the town that
natural gas is their only option. Butler and his partner Sue Thomason make their first pitch to lease
land to the Allen family who have two young children. Thomason, a mother of a teenage boy herself,
utilizes fear to deceive Mrs. Allen (from whom they are trying to lease land) that the only way Mrs.
Allen s young son will have a bright future is if they allow Global to come into their town and lease
their land for drilling. While trying to convince the family that leasing their land is the right decision
Thomason says to Mrs. Allen, Even before the drilling, the

19. Relationship Between Attributional Style, Information...
The Relationship between Attributional Style, Information Valence, Likability, and Need for Cognitive
Closure Impression formation is the process of putting together individual pieces of information about
a person to form a whole impression (Rosenthal Stott, Dicks, Fielding, 2015). Research on first
impressions is imperative; when meeting someone for the first time, people always wants to make a
lasting, respectable first impression that is free of ambiguity. Attributional style, whether someone is a
pessimist or optimist, plays an important role in people s perceived likability of others (Goodmon,
Kelly, Mauldin, Young, 2015). The valence of information disclosed has a significant impact on
impression formation (Collins Miller, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Pessimists are more likely to associate negative events to the individual, rather than the situation,
while optimists will associate positive events to the individual. The way pessimists and optimists
associate events to an individual can affect how they form impressions of others. Once individuals
form a negative impression, it is very hard to modify (Hargie, 2006; Mann Ferguson, 2015). This
might be because once people hear negative information, they have a very difficult time setting the
information aside and listening to new evidence (Hargie Dickson, 2004). We pay more attention to
negative information, and upon hearing said information, demonstrate confirmation bias by ignoring
contradictory information, even if it is positive (Hargie, 2006). Research performed by Goodmon,
Kelly, Mauldin Young (2015) found that pessimists, on average, give a lower likability score than
optimists to an individual who is responsible for a certain event, regardless of the event s nature.
Goodmon, Kelly, Mauldin, and Young (2015) gave participants a script that dialogued a conversation
between an advisor and advisee. The advisee (student) reveals a prior academic incident that is either
positive (winning a scholarship to study abroad) or negative (getting kicked out of school for
plagiarism). Following the scripts, the participants rate the advisee on a Reysen Likability Scale. Their

On April 29, 2014, Oklahoma prison officials administered an untested mixture of 3 drugs to Clayton
Lockett, a convicted murderer and rapist (Greenberg 1). The execution went immediately and
terrifyingly wrong. Following administration of the first drug, Lockett, obviously conscious, started to
writhe and groan, and then went into convulsions (1). This is one example of the many botched
executions that have occurred in recent history. With the possibility of an execution going as badly as
Lockett s, we must ask if we are violating the US constitution. The 8th amendment states, Excessive
bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted

It is quite clear that I am not a participative and also not an authoritarian leader because I stand

authoritarian leader have to get less than 5 but as I have score 12, I can say that I am more of a
participative leader not an Authotarian leader because I am more towards participative leadership

pathos based fallacy as it appeals to the human emotion of fear. Fear is a strong human emotion

provoking fear in the audience does not constitute as evidence for the argument. Danforth implication

23. The Spectrophotometer Determinationof Iron in Teff
Introduction The research question is: the spectrophotometer determination of iron in teff and a
measure of the bio availability to suggest ways in which bio availability or absorption is increased and
consequently anemia decreased.
Iron is one of the most important elements that is needed by different living organisms. One of its
functions is to control cell growth and aid in differentiation of cells. However, one of its most
important responsibilities is found in hemoglobin. which is involved in allowing oxygen transport in
portions of the blood. Iron is available in two oxidation states: Fe2+ and Fe3+. The one that is readily
absorbed in the human body is Fe2+. Thus in this extended essay, I will focus on the concentration of
Fe2+ in four cereals teff, wheat, maize and sorghum. Limited amounts of absorption of Fe2+ in the
human body causes iron deficiency anemia. Iron deficiency anemia is when a person has a red blood
cell count that is less than normal or when there are few hemoglobin molecules in each red blood cell.
Consequences and effect of this to humans could be fatigue, headaches, palpitations, lethargy and etc.
One of the causes of iron deficiency anemia is the bio availability of many grains and legumes. The
less bio available or in other words the less absorbed the nutrients of the cereals we eat are, the
prospect of iron deficiency anemia occurring becomes higher. I will show this need of Iron in the
blood by first measuring the iron contents of the four

The word Measurement is an often used term in the field of mathematics, science, technology,

26. Source Anonymous Research Paper
Sit tight for the journey ahead as I explain to you, on my coffee induced, sleep deprived binge writing,
the ethics of source anonymity in journalism for the purpose of this paper, I will be writing about
Canada specifically. More specifically, I will touch upon the following: What is the reliability of the
source? Why would a source have to be kept anonymous? To what extent does a journalist keep a
source confidential? Firstly, I will go on to briefly describe the Canadian Act that protects whistle
blowers (the term used to describe someone who brings an issue to light, almost always in their
organization) and the shield law. Next, I will be discussing the ethics in keeping a source anonymous
from the utilitarian point of view, as well as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As stated in the CAJ Ethics Guidelines, under Promises to Sources, it is important to discuss with a
source wanting to be kept anonymous whether or not you, as a journalist, are willing to go to jail for
keeping them anonymous when ordered by a court. It is important to discuss with your source that, if
they mislead or lie to you about anything they say, the promise of keeping their anonymity is off.
There have been many cases of journalists going to jail for keeping a source anonymous, even in the
face of the law. If this doesn t show principle, then I don t know what does. There is also the aspect of
acting from duty: a journalist has the duty of reporting to the public in order for them to know the
truth about what s happening in the world. The right thing to do is to keep the source anonymous if it
means that an important story or high classified information will be out for the public to know it is
their right to know. In this perspective, a journalist does not look at their personal consequences
possible incarceration but on the nature of their action to liberate the truth. They have the good
intention, which makes it deontological. If we take a look at the first form of the categorical
imperatives, it follows this as well because of the way they act: keeping a promise they made. A
journalist also has true freedom because they have the autonomy to put themselves in a position of
being in a bad situation with the law, using their rationality to weigh the options of leaking a good
story or the possibility of suffering consequences for

27. Competition Policy On Two Sided
1 Competition policy on two sided markets: literature review
On a TSM, an intermediary platform provides services allowing two sides of users to interact with
each other. For example, an online market serves sellers on one side and buyers on the other side. An
integral part of every TSM is externality between two sides: buyers benefit from a greater number of
sellers and products proposed on the platform, sellers benefit from a greater number of potential
buyers who use the platform. The utility obtained by each side depends on the number of users on the
other side and vice versa.
According to Rochet and Tirole (2006),
a market is two sided if the net utility on one side increases (decreases) with the number of members
on the other side, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The theory of two sided markets was partially based on and is related to the theory of intermediation
and of multi product firms. A TSM model is close to the model of a multi production: two products are
represented by two services to side 1 and to side 2 with interconnected demands. The profit function
of a two sided platform could describe behavior of a multi product monopoly, given that both models
are characterized by nonzero cross elasticities. But the mechanisms of demand interdependence are
different. In case of two linked products, demand on one good depends directly on the price of the
other complement or substitute good, and this price interdependence is internalized by one consumer
who wants to use both goods. On multisided markets, demand on one good doesn t depend directly on
the price of another good, but on the level of its consumption.
Positive externalities between two sides imply negative cross elasticities. The well known result is that
multi product monopolist s price in the case of negative price elasticities
(product complementarity) is lower. By analogous reasoning, under two sided positive externalities
prices on both sides are lower, and the number of consumers on both sides is higher than without
externalities. Price of each side positively depends on the externalities it creates on the one side and

Family Dynamics
Family is vital to the Asian culture, which provides a strong foundation to the Asian heritage. Elderly
males customarily hold the family authority (Yan, Accordino, Boutin, Wilson, 2015). Also, older
couples have a superior status than newly married ones. The husband primarily leads the wife and
children, with children ranked higher by age. Younger children must respect their elders no matter the
age difference. High expectation is also given to children at a young age. Females are assumed to be
less intelligent than males, making males a higher status. In addition, Asian family members typically
stay together throughout their lifetime to promote a close knit existence. Lastly, Asian cultures are
required to make decisions with their elders, or else they could be labeled selfish or irresponsible.
Asian families are a strong unit, but have a prominent family dynamic.

When business do not understand the mind of their target audience they do not generate the type of

reality they just want them. Consumers will go into debt to buy an item they want to personally have.
The joy of seeing it in the house or having friends see them with it is worth it all for them. So many
consumers feel a great sense of comfort in consumer goods that are popular or in demand because they

33. Summary Of Gonad The Barbarian And The Venus Flytrap
Anne McClintock s Gonad the Barbarian and the Venus Flytrap , focuses a lot of attention on how
from the beginning of history, women have been denied some of the basic rights and freedoms that
have been essential to the way that men live. Starting back from the times where they couldn t vote
and when women were basically seen as property when wedded. Women today and even in the earlier
days could not express their sexuality and could not show that they were sexual beings. Anne
McClintock gives the idea that women should be able to have the things that men have and they
should be able to express it in the same way as men. In this essay, I will analyze how Anne
McClintock views pornography as a form of pleasure that is mostly consumed by men and how
women are incorporated into the employment of the industry and even in the home setting. Anne
McClintock first talks about how women s sexuality has always been suppressed in many cultures and
societies around the world. There is a huge focus on making sure that men are taken care of sexually
and that they are able to go out and show their sexuality and not be ashamed of it. Men are able to
enjoy pornography and not feel guilty about enjoying it because it is apart of their nature. Everyone
knows that men masturbate and they are not really shy with talking about it but when it comes to

The reason for the Vikings leaving their homelands and venturing off on trade missions, raids,
explorations, and new settlements is largely unknown, due to a lack of evidence (Vikings weren t huge
fans of writing down their day to day lives and history.) However, it can be speculated that they left
for a few reasons. The first of those reasons was to escape forced conversion to Christianity by
Charlemagne. The Vikings had their own unique religion which differed heavily from Christianity.
Add to this the fact that Christians don t have the best history with accepting other beliefs, it is
understandable that the Vikings may have feared Christian conversion and sought to find new lands to
escape. This fear of conversion was a large part of the Saxon wars affecting Germanic peoples. It s
worth noting the irony of the Vikings leaving their homeland in fear of Christian conversion
considering their leader Harald Bluetooth (935 985), who was the King of Norway and Denmark,
eventually converted the Vikings himself to Christianity. The second reason for the Vikings suddenly
migrating may be due to their beliefs in relation to inheritance. Vikings gave their first sons all
acquired land, this caused younger sons to venture off on their own to gain their own property.
Regardless of the reason, the Vikings ventured off in their long ships to raid, pillage,

37. The Origins Of Hiv ( Immunodeficiency Syndrome )
The origins of HIV (Human immunodeficiency virus) and the disease it causes AIDS (acquired
immunodeficiency syndrome). The virus might have sprung up as early as the 1940 s, yet it was not
recognized as a new pathogen until the early 1980s. Physicians who study patterns of illness began to
take not when immune deficiency conditions such as oral candida thrush, herpes, Pneumocystis
Jiroveci pneumonia, and Kaposi s sarcoma, a rare type of cancer, began to show up in the United
States, primarily among urban populations of men who have sex with men. In 1986, HIV 1 and HIV 2
were isolated as the viruses that cause AIDS. Men who have sex with men were just the first to be
affected. Infection was soon seen in their populations. HIV falls into a ... Show more content on

A person who is HIV positive may have an entire supply of T4 cells depleted every 15 days.
Eventually the body is unable to maintain a healthy immune response and the body will begin to show
symptoms of HIV/AIDS (CDC 2012).
Signs and Symptoms of HIV infection in the initial stage of HIV infection may experience only
generalized flu like symptoms such as malaise, nausea and vomiting, decreased appetite, rash and
diarrhea. In the latent stage of the disease the patients may begin to experience frequent and persistent
infections. Complaining of fever, night sweats, swollen lymph nodes, headache, skin lesions that do
not heal, sore throat, difficulty breathing, burning with urination or diarrhea. Patients also may report
extreme fatigue and weight loss. Any of these symptoms coupled with a history of unprotected sexual
contact with persons possibly infected with HIV, a history of intravenous drug abuse using shared
needles, or a history of a blood transfusion before 1989 warrants consideration of a diagnosis of HIV
infection. (CDC 2014).
The major complications of HIV infection are opportunistic infections, wasting, secondary cancers
and dementia. Patients with AIDS are very high risk for opportunistic fungal, parasitic, and viral
infections. These are oral candidacies, P. jiroveci pneumonia, herpes simples, cytomegalovirus
retinitis, Cryptosporidium enteritis,

38. Affordable Housing For Low Income
Basic economics knowledge would tell you that this is a supply and demand issue and that all we need
to do is increase the supply and the prices will come down to an affordable equilibrium. But on the
other hand, basic economics will also tell you that there are no shortages unless there is a price ceiling
in place which creates a high demand and a low supply due to lower than equilibrium prices. Which
should mean that subsidization for low income families should help alleviate the shortage for those
groups or removing rent control measures. The issue of Los Angeles s shortages in affordable housing,
at face value, then seems like a no brainer. Unfortunately, these two economic solutions, like most
economic solutions, cannot solve this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One way the legislators tried to remedy the problem of affordable housing was by setting a price
ceiling via rent control. According to a LA daily news article, the Rent Stabilization Ordinance (RSO)
was enacted in Los Angeles in 1978 and applies to properties built on or before 1978. Shortly after its
implementation, in 1981, the city paid the RAND Corporation to study the impact of rent control on
the housing market. In the long run, the findings warned, it may create the very housing shortage it
was designed to alleviate. And in many ways, they were rights. RSO can create a reluctance on the
part of owners to build new apartments out of fear that rent control laws will be extended. It can also
create a tendency of owners to defer repairs and renovations because of the potential for limited return
on their investments. RSO can also have a job killing effect too, because if landlords aren t hiring as
many carpenters, painters, electricians, plumbers, roofers and landscapers the demand for those jobs
also decreases. Rent control ordinances are associated with lower growth rates in the supply of rental
housing and with higher rental price growth in the broader market. Research done by Beacon
Economics found that rent control decreased the supply of rental housing because investors might fear
that new rental units will eventually be covered under future rent control ordinances, given that there
is already a policy in place.

39. Budweiser Puppy Love Ad Analysis
Budweiser s Commercial Puppy Love
Budweiser s commercial Puppy Love aired during the 2014 Super Bowl had such a powerful
attraction to the audience that were watching. I look at the type of advertising strategy s Budweiser
used to grab the attention of many viewers. With all the attention, this commercial was getting that it
become one of the most viewed ad during the 2014 Super Bowl. The secondary research relates to
previous other works by most of my references state that Puppy Love is the most viewed ad during the

information to write about. Some of the information wasn t enough to even write about instead they
just showed statistics but not giving or explaining the reason why it was so popular as I hoped for.
Some recommendations I would say is Mel.org came in handy for many of the articles and maybe use
some different keywords that I couldn t think of might have a greater impact for my research. Overall

40. Angelina Grimke Research Paper
Angelina and Sarah Grimke were legends in their lifetime. The sister made history, speaking to mixed
crowds of men and women. They advocated some of the most powerful anti slavery paths, and the
rights to a women s public role. Their movement was not only aimed to end slavery, not to help racial
discrimination throughout the United States. These ideas made them more sincere than many other
reformers who advocated to end to slavery. Other advocates did not believe in equality for freedom
and women. The Grimke sisters were also one of the first abolitionist to recognize the importance of
women s rights, while speaking and writing about the cause of female equality. Angelina and Sarah
were unique, they were consistent with their commitment ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
People in Philadelphia did not share the same ideas about ambitioning slavery. However, she later
found a small circle of anti slavery advocates. Still, she was uncertain about what she could do for

violent riot against abolitionist and African Americans in New York and Philadelphia broke out, and
anti slavery pamphlets were burned. William Lloyd Garrison published an appeal to citizens to stop all
violence, and Angelina felt like she had to send the noted abolitionist letter as support. The ground
upon which you stand is holy ground, she told him, never never surrender it. . . if you surrender it, the
hope of the slave is extinguished. However, the fight for slavery continued Angelina stated, even if

41. Functional Leadership Analysis
What is Leadership? The leader is a member that directs and coordinates tasks that are relevant to the
company. To be a considered leading individual you must either be appointed as a leader. The leader
must be willing to do everything and anything possible to ensure that the group is organized and is
one. As a leader, you have the power to control rewards and much more.
A leader can be anyone on the team who has that one particular talent that stands out. A leader is
creatively thinking out of the box and has an idea on how to improve the business. That leader has a
certain aspect of the business or project that can be useful to the manager and the team. A leader leads

Nobody can be expected to have all the answers or rule the team with alone. Sometimes a project is a
long series of obstacles and opportunities coming toward you at full focus. You will need every ounce
of your collective hearts and minds and skill sets to pull through it.
Functional leadership theory has tended to focus considerable attention on team needs and has devoted
less attention to the specific ways in which leadership can satisfy these needs. To understand how the
team needs to become satisfied, our review will focus on team leadership functions or the things that
need to be done for the team to meet its needs and function effectively.

42. Mrs. Linde s Husband
In society, women have been regarded as, above all else, caregivers; whether this be caregivers to their
children, husband, or families. There are women who thought and continue to think they are meant to
be more than caregivers and strive to do more with their lives. On the other hand, there are also
women who find no problem in tending to their families; it is a task they do with joy and Mrs. Linde is
one of these women. In, A Doll House , by Henrik Ibsen, all that Mrs. Linde has done for her family;
such as sacrificing her life with Krogstad for a more financially stable man, shows her impeccable
family values, which is why no one can call her a gold digger for trying to reunite with Krogstad her
true love. Mrs. Linde admits she is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Linde s decision to return to a domestic lifestyle with Krogstad is furthermore influenced by the way
she was raised rather than a need to extort money from Torvald; women of older generations tend to
be instilled with strict family values that they come to incorporate into their daily lives once they have
a family of their own. Mrs. Linde s attitude towards reuniting with Krogstad and tending to his family
is described when she states, I must have work or I can t bear to live. All my life... work has been my
one great joy (Ibsen 33). Her obvious need for tending to others is implied to have been instilled into
her from her youth. This behavior is common of older women in society who choose to care for their
families or others and is due to the importance placed on women tending to their families above all
else. Author, Nancy Chodorow of Family structure and feminine personality , explains how Schooling
is a pseudo training. It is not meant to interfere with... [being] feminine and a wife and mother
(Chodrow 90), when speaking of how people raise their daughters. This signifies that while girls are
sent to school they are taught it is not the most important aspect of their life; they are taught to
prioritize domestic duties and caring for a family, just as a wife and mother would. Chodorow s entry
supports and reveals that Mrs. Linde s reunion with Krogstad does not have to do with the financial
stability he can provide but with her genuine care for his family; she sees no issue in caring for his
family because it is something which comes quite naturally to her. This mentality, described by
Chodorow and portrayed by Mrs. Linde and older women in society, is a driving force behind these
women s need to be involved in other people s lives and is what brings them to hold such
responsibility in a higher regards as opposed to other responsibilities. Chodorow also points out that:
Girls remained little women (90), which further supports her notion that

43. Cacao Influence On Mayan Culture
At first consideration, chocolate and the Maya peoples do not appear to be related in any manner, but
this could not be farther from the truth. Cacao, the tree from which chocolate is processed, is heavily
intertwined in the religious and secular lives of the Maya, in the past as well as the present. Chocolate,
as we know it today, too was born from the Maya and their contact with the Europeans, perhaps the
only good thing to come from the interactions. Thanks to the Europeans, cacao has impacted the rest
of the world in as great a manner as it impacted the Maya.
The Maya were, and are, a group of Mesoamericans whose settlements spanned from Mexico to
Belize, beginning as early as 1500 B.C.E (Maya People). According to a display at the ki Xocolatil
museum, the Maya timeline can be split into six different sections: Ancient Classical (250 600 C.E.),

Its importance was initially lost on the Spanish, who first encountered the Maya in 1502. The first

conquering and rebuilding of the Maya city of T ho into Merida, now the capitol of the Yucatán state.
Montejo and his men were vicious in their dealings with natives, and Fray Diego de Landa recounts in
his An Account of the Things of Yucatán of the murder of two beautiful young native women, not for
their beauty, but to make a statement that the women meant nothing to the Spanish men. In one case of
resistance, de Landa recalls seeing women hung from trees, with their children hung from their
