I First Heard About The Etude Op
I first heard about the Étude Op. 10, No. 3, in E major composed by Frédéric Chopin in a TV drama.
The protagonist introduces the piece as the Song of Farewell which is about the departure of two
people. While I was listening to it, the piece walked me through a path of memories.
This Étude Op. 10, No. 3, in E major is in ternary form, with ABA sections. The piece starts softly
with legato. The narrow range notes form a motive that put people into peace. The arch shaped phrase
introduces audiences into the journey. The bass harmony acts as an accompaniment and footprints that
guide people back to their past steps by steps. Antecedent and consequent also appear in this piece
which in the first time of the phrase, the melody comes in soft and quiet; in the second time, the
phrase gets louder and is a variation of the first phrase. To me, these two corresponding melody acts
like the process of recalling the past time. In the beginning, the memories from the past start appearing
in minds, and soon, the pictures become clearer and more details pop up. With the uses of dynamics,
first crescendo and follows by decrescendo, it develops the sadness of the piece in which it allows the
audience to fall into the memories and soon after realising these precious times have already become
the past that they can no longer go back and the decrescendo represents a sense of regret and sorrow.
The second part, which is the B section of the piece, composes of a totally different melody and to

Mono Zygotics
Literature Review
In recent years, mental health professionals have become increasingly aware of the importance of
genetic factors in the etiology (causes) of mental disorders. Since the Human Genome Project began
its mapping of the entire sequence of human DNA in 1990, the implications of its findings for
psychiatric diagnosis and treatment have accumulated rapidly. A new subspecialty known as biological
psychiatry (also called physiological psychology or psychiatric genetics) has emerged from the
discoveries of the last two decades. Biological psychiatry got its start in the late 1980s, when several
research groups identified genes associated with manic depression and schizophrenia respectively.

These studies are conducted with the hypothesis that illness should occur in the families of affected
members at a higher rate than in appropriate control population, The second one would be twin studies
with siblings Twin study attempts to separate effect of gene from that of the environment. Twin studies
are done with certain assumptions: Mono zygotic (MZ) twins share 100% of genome, dizygotic (DZ)
twins share approximately 50% of genome, both MZ and DZ twins share the same environment, thus
environment as a confounding variable can be controlled. The last study would be adoption study to
see if the environment can contribute to the mental illness instead of genetics this kind of study
attempts to clarify the role of genetic versus environmental factors in a disease by studying two kinds
of informative relationship; individuals who are genetically related but do not share familial
environmental factors and individuals who share familial environment factors but are not genetically

The Importance Of Dreams
Dreams have been a mystery of the human mind since the beginning of time. Their purpose and
importance to our lives varies depending on where you go for information, but it is clear that dreams
are something that come along with being human. According to the theory of Sigmund Freud, dreams
are a way for our mind to process the things we are feeling in the form of symbolism (Freud 350).
While many brush off their dreams as simply a way for their brain to relieve stress and process the
previous day, there is a large percentage of people who believe that their dreams are a message, or a
warning, from the beyond.
In Medieval times, one of the most common beliefs about dreams was that they were used as the
primary way in which higher powers ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Miracles and dream visions are often paired together in the Christian faith, specifically inside of the
Catholic denomination. According to the information that I found, they call these visions private
revelations. Even though they accept the idea that a Christian can be exposed to a vision, they are
quick to distinguish the difference between private revelation and magic. This is confirmed in a direct
quote from the Global Catholic Network, which says Alleged revelations which propose to improve
upon, correct or entirely supplant Public Revelation are rejected by the Church as inauthentic,
regardless of the claims made for them. Such revelations include those of Mohammed in the Koran,
Joseph Smith in the Book of Mormon, the writings of new age mystics, psychics and the like
(Donovan, Apparitions/Private Revelations).
Another well known dream vision is Caedmon s Hymn, which was written by Bede. Caedmon s
Hymn is about a vision from God that changes a man s entire life around. Caedmon is not much help
in his church community, because he cannot sing praises. Caedmon is so distraught by this on one
occasion that he runs away to the stables and falls asleep. During his slumber, Caedmon dreams that
God asks him to sing. Caedmon sings the most beautiful and poetic song about creation, and
remembers every line when he awakes. He promptly goes and tells everyone he knows, and becomes
revered by the church

Human Overpopulation
Overpopulation of Humans The impact of human activity on the environment is catastrophically
devastating and destructible. Assisting to that destruction is the increasing number of people that make
up the worlds population today. Overpopulation is the condition of giving birth to a number of people
living on earth that over exceeds the amount of space, resources and land found on our planet.
According to reports from the United Nations (2007), World population is currently growing by
approximately 75 million people per year. Such growth should be considered alarming and a possible
threat to people as well as our environment. Humans all over the world must understand that these
changes in population growth will foreshadow many changes ... Show more content on

According to the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA), the transportation sector
is the second largest source of CO2 emissions in the U.S. Automobiles and light duty trucks account
for almost two thirds of emissions from the transportation sector and emissions have steadily grown
since 1990. Other sources of transportation emissions are freight trucks, aircraft, trains and boats.
Emissions from transportation depend on the number of trips or miles traveled by each type of vehicle
each year, which are in turn influenced by larger economic trends and consumer behavior. Over the
long term, changes in the fuel efficiency of vehicles (e.g., mileage), and in the type of fuel used can
also influence the level of emissions. (2007)
Controlling and managing this type of pollution requires far more than what people can ever imagine.
A number of approaches attempting to take air pollution serious have already been implemented by
government and other environmental agencies. Education and encouragement from the human
population as a whole can make a difference.
Deforestation
Deforestation is the destruction of woodlands and forests permanently. The removal of trees in forests
and woodlands has given a result of a degraded environment with a condensed biodiversity. Trees are

Shakespeare s Macbeth-Tragic Hero
The Tragedy of Macbeth
The Tragedy of Macbeth is one of Shakespeare s greatest stagewrites. He shows Macbeth in many
different forms as a character. Macbeth is an ever changing character. Lady Macbeth adds on to this
changing personality. Shakespeare hits all these points in three categories, known as tragic hero,
dynamic character, round character.
Macbeth is best known as a tragic hero because he fits into all the elements of a tragic hero which are,
high social rank, tragic flaw, suffers complete ruin or death and faces downfall with courage and
dignity. Macbeth has a high social rank in the beginning of the play he started out as the Thane of
Glamis then was promoted to Thane of Cawdor by the king, and then he played fouly for the crown. In
this case the king sent Ross to deliver a message that said And for and earnest of greater honor, he
bade me, from him, call thee Thane of Cawdor. (1.3.104 105) To show him playing fouly for the
crown I go and it is done. The bell invites me. Hear it not, Duncan, for it is knell That summons thee
to heaven or hell. (2.1.61 63) Macbeth said this as he went to kill King Duncan. Macbeth has a tragic

Shadow In Chad, Africa
In the beginning, prior to the establishment of time and space there was a man named Shadow.
Shadow was the servant of a king by the name of Alexander. King Alexander was a very cruel king,
who found joy in abusing his power. One day, Shadow was ordered to go on a prolonged journey to
the edge of what is now Chad, Africa to deliver a letter to a man who called himself Salvatore
Orlando. King Alexander specifically demanded Shadow to not open the letter. Shadow, like the
obedient servant he was, packed his belongings and headed on to the lengthy voyage ahead of him.
After a few miles of walking, Shadow came across a young woman who was clothed in rags with two
kids on either side. Shadow could not bear to see her suffer, so he reached into

How to Handle Violence in Youth Sports
Everyone agrees that parent involvement is a good thing. But when the parent behaves
inappropriately, it creates a poor environment for the children to learn and enjoy themselves. Sideline
rage with parents behaving badly at youth sports events is such an epidemic, that 76% of respondents
from 60 high school athletic associations said increased spectator interference is causing many
officials to quit (Associated Press, 6/3/01). Parents are supposed to be role models, and the lessons
they teach will determine their values and actions in the future. These days violence in children s
sports is not limited to the playing field; overbearing parents are creating dangerous situations on the
field.
Involving your child in sports is important ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At age ten, many kids have private coaching and attend specialized clinics in the off season. The
coach is usually someone with a background in sports, either a retired professional player or coach.
Practices are now scheduled for twice a week and attending a weekly clinic is strongly recommended,
with a strength conditioning workout schedule between practices. All of these changes mean more
involvement time for the parents. Parents are now spending up ten hours a week watching their
children compete with other children, and this pressure can sometimes be too much for the parent.
In 2002, Thomas Junta was convicted of involuntary manslaughter after he attacked Michael Costin,
who later died of his injuries. Mr. Costin was refereeing a pickup game of hockey. The fight was
witnessed by a dozen children including the children of both Mr. Junta and Mr. Costin (Butterfield,
2002). While this is by far one of the worst incidents in sports rage, there are other types of behavior
that can still harm our youth. Physical violence is often a rare occurrence; verbal abuse and
intimidation have been seen frequently. When a parents scream at their child after practice that he/she
did not run fast enough or hit hard enough, can be considered a form of verbal abuse. Also consider
when a parent of one child screams at the team for not performing well and not winning the game, this
combined with swearing can reduce a child to tears. Daniel Wann, PhD states that if a

The Waco Incident Essay
The Waco Incident My name is Jim, just Jim it s easier this way, and I was one of the nine survivors in
the Waco compound standoff. Before I go into what I think went wrong to our religious sanctuary, let
me tell you how I met David and a little about our great deciple. Back in the early 90 s I had been
drumming in a nowhere rock band when I met and befriended David Koresh. I needed some new
drum sticks, and on the way to a gig stopped in at a local music shop. Seeing the sticks in my hand the
two strangers introduced themselves and asked if I was playing in a band right now. The two were
David Koresh and his right man Steve Schneider. They gave their card and I promptly handed it back.

One irony of the Waco disaster, is that the right wing extremists and racists looked to Mount Carmel
as a beacon; if they realized that so many of us were Black, Asian, and Latino, and that we despised
their hateful politics and anger, they would probably feel bitterly betrayed. It was as if the community
was an isolated bubble of a perfect world, where all races, colors, and creeds, lived and worshiped
God together in perfect harmony, and I was glad to be a part of it. Now that is how I met my best
friend, and the man who turned my life around and directed me toward God. Many a times he told me
stories of his life before, his talks with God, and before becoming a deciphile of Jesus Christ. David
was born in 1955 in a small town on the outskirts of Houston, Texas, to a single mother. Never
knowing his father and his mother not wanting the responsibility he was mainly raised by his
grandparents. He said his childhood was lonely, greatly contributed from the fact that he dropped out
of high school at a very early age. Most of his days were of studying music and the Bible by himself.
At the age of 20, he started going to different churches speaking his mind, which was slightly different
than what these churches were used to, and was eventually asked to leave. After this he roamed, taking
spot jobs for cash to get him to Hollywood so that he could become a rock star, but this also failed. He
drifted back to Texas, where he

Export Promotion Of Import Substitution
In the ever globalizing world of today, exports have become a fundamental ingredient in country s
growth. Many countries, especially the less developed ones , often use policies of trade liberalization
to boost up their exports. The most commonly used policy is import substitution. However, sometimes
export promotion also becomes a prominent part of country s economic policy. Unfortunately,
Pakistan has never had a consistent, coherent and well articulated trade policy. Trading patterns have
closely followed a cycle defined by a major departure from and return to protectionist import
substitution policies. For Pakistan, import substitution strategy failed to boost up the economic
performance of the country. Although, the policy of import substitution has resulted in the promotion
of industries oriented towards the domestic market by using import restrictions, through high tariffs,
quantitative restrictions, overvalued exchange rates, to encourage the replacement of imported
consumer and manufactured goods by domestic products but it was also observed that domestic
industries growing behind protective tariff walls had no incentive to become efficient in production.
Infant industries also never grew up. In addition, Import substitution policies accompanied by
exchange controls promoted the use of more capital intensive techniques of production. Just by
looking at the way Pakistan s trade policy has fluctuated from protectionism to liberalism and back
and forth repeatedly

The Museum Of Art Exhibitions
Last week I decided to visit one of the most well known art exhibitions in Dallas. As I entered the
Dallas Museum of Art I was immediately captivated by the striking and vivid acrylic mural on the
walls created by Nicolas Party entitled Pathway. Party said to have worked on site at the exhibit for
three weeks to transform the Museum s central pathway into a mesmerizing, lively colored forest; it
was such a contrast to the rest of the exhibit s entrance. Straight ahead was the Nancy and Tim Hanley
Gallery filled with dull blank white walls matched with a few art pieces; versus the pathway on the
right filled with colorful life that was yanking me in the direction of a brand new world. To me it
seemed as if the walls were desperately waiting to be brought to life by other inspired artist like Party.
The mural not only caught my attention but it made me thirst for more fascinating art as such. As I
continued down the intriguing path filled with distinctive shaped trees and bushes accompanied by
splashes of different shades of green, blue and purple I found a random, seemingly misplaced painting
right in the middle of the pathway. The portrait instantly became one of my favorites. There hung a
large painting of two straight faced men with serious expressions having thin yet boldly dark
eyebrows, perfectly winged eyeshadow and cherry red lipstick. This portrait was extremely protrude

The Themes Of Hope And Freedom In The Shawshank Redemption
In the film, The Shawshank Redemption directed by Frank Darabont, symbolism was used to
highlight the main idea of holding onto hope. Darabont has effectively used different symbols
throughout the film to convey the themes of hope and freedom in Shawshank. Remember Red, hope is
a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies. This quote said by Andy Dufresne
in a letter to Red shows that Shawshank was portrayed as a place of hopelessness at the start. But it
was through the use of these symbols, music, the library, and the birds, that made the viewer truly
understand how Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies. Music

This symbol was firstly shown used through Jake the crow. Jake was a very close friend of Brooks. He
had taken care of Jake ever since he had found it with an injured wing and nursed it back to health.
Jake was used as a symbol in the film to highlight the theme of hope, as Jake was found by Brooks
with an injured wing after it had fallen out of its nest. Jake shows that hope was still present even in
the darkest of times in life. Later on in the film, we see that Brooks was released from prison because
of parole. This lead to Brooks releasing Jake before leaving prison and represents Brooks letting go of
any hope he has of surviving life in the outside world. He symbolically looks for Jake while feeding
the birds in the park, thinking he just might show up and say hello. Sadly, he neither finds Jake nor
hope outside of prison. Brooks could not cope with the world outside of prison as he was
institutionalised and results in him committing suicide. Another instance of birds being used as a
symbol was after Andy escaped Shawshank prison. Red symbolizes Andy as being a caged bird in
prison when he says, Sometimes it makes me sad, though... Andy being gone. I have to remind myself
that some birds aren t meant to be caged. Their feathers are just too bright. And when they fly away,
the part of you that knows it was a sin to lock them up does rejoice. But still, the place you live in is

Romeo And Juliet Compare And Contrast Essay

The Contrast of the Parents and Child s Views on Marriage: Romeo and Juliet
Love is an intricate and complex emotion that has varying amounts of true affection. One might think
he is in love with someone, but once he meets a different person, he may change his affection.
Generally people agree that love is the highest form of affection, an emotion that produces deeply
happy feelings that few events can disrupt. This is true in Shakespeare s Romeo and Juliet. Both
Romeo and Juliet are willing to die for their love of each other. Juliet originally wants nothing to do
with marriage or love, but as the play progresses, her new belief in love, and faithfulness, contrasts
with her parents and nurse s views.
In the beginning of the play, Juliet has no interest in marriage, but once she meets Romeo she falls
hopelessly in love. Romeo attends the Capulet party and sees Juliet. After he meets her and leaves, she
asks the nurse who he is. When she reveals that he is a Montague Juliet is devastated: My only love
sprung from my only hate! / Too early seen unknown, and known too late! / Prodigious birth of love it
is to me/ That I must love a loathed enemy (1.5.152 153). Love is a powerful emotion not easily
gained. For Juliet to say, My only love means that she believes Romeo is the first person she has truly
loved. To loathe someone is to hate him. Juliet s family is a sworn enemy of Romeo s and she is not
supposed to interact

Juvenile Justice System And For Reducing Juvenile Crime Rates
I. INTRODUCTION Regardless of what nation an individual resides in, certain issues are universally
important. Examples include crime, economics, education, family, healthcare, homelessness, poverty,
and many others. The United States is now the world leader in its rate of incarceration. Over the past
25 years, juvenile crime has skyrocketed, with drug crimes, gang violence, school shootings, and other
violent acts being regularly featured in the news. During the past 10 years, nearly all 50 states have
overhauled their juvenile justice laws, allowing more youths to be tried as adults. However, in
addressing crime, there must be an effective balance between deterrence, prevention, and punishment.
This paper analyzes the juvenile justice system and the effectiveness of sentencing alternatives like
juvenile detention centers and shelters. Part II details the history of the juvenile justice system. In Part
III, sentencing alternatives like sentencing alternatives like juvenile detention centers and shelters are
examined. Lastly, this paper concludes with suggestions for improving the juvenile justice system and

 Information integration: ERP have the ability to update information between business functions and
components that are related. For example: a customer XYZ places an order. As soon as the order is
placed it triggers production, planning, inventory and other processes. After all these processes get
over, the details regarding product delivery date are given to the user. Thus, the user gets instantaneous
information because of integration of information.
Reduction of lead time: The time taken to deliver an order minus the time at which order was placed
is known as the lead time. Because of the efficient inventory management systems that anticipate
demand ahead of the orders that are placed, lead time has decreased considerably.

Difference between formal and informal imperialism
Throughout the history of the world, different kingdoms have been competing to expand their
territories. In most cases, the expansion of theses territories has been at the expense of weaker
territories that are incapable of fighting back effectively owing to different barriers . For example, the
Mongols expanded their territory in less than a hundred years to over 6,000 miles using lightning fast
archers who rode on horsebacks . An irrefutable fact about empires is the fact that they never hold
together for long as they fall apart. However, as time has been passing, changes have been exhibited in
the empires that are being formed. As such, historians normally divide imperialism into two types ,
formal, as well as informal imperialism. Consequently, this article explains the differences that exist
between formal imperialism and informal imperialism by use of examples.
To begin with, the literal meanings of the two types of imperialism act as a difference between them.
For instance, informal imperialism may be taken to signify an authority without any trace of formality,
also without any fixed rules set to control. As a matter of fact, it may be defined to be an authority
without the usual forms that symbolize authority . Clearly, this is the opposite of all the values that
formal imperialism encompasses. Formal imperialism creates a

Should Greyhound Racing Be Banned Across All States Across...
A couple of years ago, Australia watched on from their tellies as Four Corners unraveled the darkest of
secrets in modern day greyhound racing. We exposed the gruesome sport for what it is, a lower class
Melbourne Cup which sends a clear and undeniable statement that the GRV (Greyhound Racing
Victoria) have a lack of motivation and desire to fix the sport. The allegations that live baiting is used
during training and the corruption surrounding the policing of the sport, further supports the idea that
greyhound racing should indefinitely be banned in all states across Australia. Greyhound racing is
completely out dated and will leave future generations puzzled at why we encouraged the continuation
of this disgusting sport.
Fear, a common misconception regarding the GRV. Greyhound Racing Victoria, an institution which
has no ethical values. The constant reminder which is apparent when discussing the lack of motivation
and desire to fix the sport, they so dearly cherish. The underwhelming reality of the situation that they
simply just don t care, or don t have the resources to make an impact. Is the GRV ready to take serious
consideration of the recent events, and make a formal statement regarding the live baiting training
centers? Or is the Australian Government forced to ban the sport across all states? I personally think
that Greyhound Racing should be banned across all states because, the industry once promised that
they would do better back in 2015, but enough is

Case Study Of BCCI Fraud
The Bank of Credit and Commerce International (BCCI) fraud was a major international banking
fraud which resulted in the collapse of the bank in 1991. The estimated amount involving the fraud
was around £800 million at that time. The bank was operating in 78 countries with around 400
branches and it attracted mainly Asian communities as their customers. As a result of the collapse of
the bank, hundreds of thousands of people around the world lost their savings. It also included local
councils such as Western Isles, Westminster City and Harlow. The case attracted the media spotlight
and caused great concern in political circles and in the banking sector.
The banking practices of the bank were shady and in many parts illegal but its corporate structure and
its active efforts shielded it from any lawsuits in the early days. Even in later days, it was very hard for
regulators to bring BCCI to the book. However, many public outcry and ethical concerns raised by
other parts of the banking industry made regulators in America and Britain take stock of the situation.
Only after this, BCCI soon came under the scrutiny of numerous national and international ... Show

Thesis Of Chief Joseph s Speech
The thoughts and circumstances of Chief Joseph addressed in his speech involved many examples that
helped support his one main topic. This subject that Chief Joseph was attempting to entail was that
white settlers should not have done what they did to Joseph s people for their wrongdoings affected
them. The words that he proclaimed and spoke was about all the actions done against his people, as
well as, how the modest of treaties do not mean anything at all anymore and unwanted apologizes for
the people and land that he and his people lost tragically. As I was listening to every word being
spoken, I strongly agreed with his reasoning as it was true and upstanding. What the white man did to
his people and their possessions, such as land, game, or rights, was not right and acceptable to
publicity. So yes, but, nevertheless, the white man ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

all confrontations between white and Indian people today are not usually ended softly, due to the
troubled past of both cultures. The side that is most agreeable is the Indian side because they have yet
to get justice or rights for losing what they had back then. This will change all the fighting that is
going on to equality and peace for both races to enjoy. Rising up and giving back what was once their
cultural treasures will show the Indians that not all people are alike and, moreover, that personally do

addition, it is important to look at our current lifestyle and habits, if we are living in a way that is

The 2012 presidential election finally reached its conclusion late Tuesday night on November 6th, as

Physical Appearance
The first form of nonverbal communication that plays a significant role in influencing the voting
behavior is the physical appearance of candidates. The analytical study by Olivola and Todorov (2010)
states that today s politics have become so extremely intricate and incomprehensible that it is almost
impossible for voters to genuinely agree to every aspect of the candidates views. For instance, it is
highly conceivable for voters to agree on international and security issues with one candidate and
agree on economic issues with the other candidate at the same time. Hence, the number of the voters
who are unfamiliar with the intricacies of political issues and unmotivated to study candidates policy
as a criterion for making their choice has increased (Olivola Todorov, 2010). In addition, according to
Olivola and Todorov (2010), the field of cognitive psychology indicates that people s minds tend to
simplify decision making process by relying on simple rules when they are confronted with too much
information. As a result, instead of behaving as rational actors and voting reasonably as they are
believed to do so, voters are hugely influenced by and unconsciously opt for irrelevant cues, which in
this case, the candidates physical appearance.
Furthermore, Olivola and Todorov (2010) state that voters actually infer politicians personality traits
and form impressions on politicians based on their physical appearance

have different rights, men spend their time outside with their friends while women are just meant to be

think it isn t what women should do. In this movie, citizens in Pleasantville are conservatives, they
promote the traditional way of lifestyles, believing that everything should remain the same, and
following the policies which have been done before. They find comfort in tradition, especially when
they thought they had everything they could ever ask for with no doubt; enjoyed lives as it was and
not seeking out unnecessary challenges. For my own opinion, I suggest that this set of mind should be
renewed we live in an ever changing society and conservatives should accept the fact that things are
never going to stay the same. Individual equality, human rights and fairness are what we are fighting
for nowadays. Liberalism expects citizens to be attached to equality, to be tolerant of their own beliefs,
to have a long lasting pursuit of justice, to have a genuine care for the weak, and to live an
independent and individualized life. In everyday life, being liberals is never easier than conservatives
or radicals. Liberalism is inclusive, and at the bottom of diversity, it is respect for the individual and

Hello, I m Johnny Cash
Hello, I m Johnny Cash
On February 26, 1932, a legend was born, only 2 hours north from Texarkana. Kingsland Arkansas is
the hometown of Mr. Johnny Cash, a song writer, a performer, a country music singer, a guitarist, an
alcoholic, and a lover. Cash was originally born as, John R. Cash, after his mother and father. Between
his parents, they raised 6 children. When Cash was only 3, his father moved his family to Dyess
Colony in the northeastern part of Arkansas, which became the childhood home of Cash. Here, his
family became farmers. I think the first nerve that was struck for Johnny Cash, was when his older
brother, Jack, died while cutting wood. Cash was so devastated that the day of his funeral, Cash went
with a shovel to the grave site and dug him up, only at 12 years old. In his early years, Cash was
influenced in music from his mother s hymns, to the work songs that the railroad workers, not far from
his house, would sing. He graduated in 1950, and soon set off to find work in Detroit, never knowing
all he had to do was open his mouth. However, he found himself working at an automotive plant in
Pontiac Michigan in his early twenties. He soon realized that working on cars was not his thing. Cash
decided that signing up for the U.S. Air Force was the right direction to go. He moved to Texas for
basic training, where he met his first wife, Vivian Liberto, in San Antonio at a roller skating park.
After basic training, Cash was shipped to Germany, which wasn t until

Passive Resistance
Rather than simply influencing society, peaceful resistance is a mark of freedom itself. Therefore, its
impacts are neither positive nor negative, but an inherent quality of a free society. However, laws
themselves may influence the people they govern either positively or negatively; reactions to these
laws then reflect any perceived intentions such as helping or hindering society. The qualities of
positivity or negativity rely on individual sentiments which then join in likeness and form factions.
These factions then view each other as either progressing or stunting the growth of society. Thomas
Jefferson distinguished between honest rebels and dishonest rebels (Mirkin); while people s motives
cannot always be truly known, passive resistance often portrays honest emotions. As citizens continue
to arm themselves with peaceful resistance, their sentiments reveal positive and negative effects, not
the action itself. On January 21, 2017, pro life supporters gathered in Washington, D. C. after the
Women s March (McMahon). This event marked the 44th annual protest against the Supreme Court
decision on Roe v. Wade (McMahon). The Court s decision struck down a state ban on abortion unless

American principles such as freedom of speech and liberty. America emerged from those who fueled
wars, both against unfair laws and unjust ideology. Although resistance may indicate divisions among
citizens, it creates the opportunity for conversation and unification. Reactions may be positive or
negative, but peaceful resistance must be encouraged to have a free

What was the motivation that led to the discovery?
At the beginning of the 15th century, the leaders of the city of Florence decided that it was time for
them to solve a problem that they had been putting aside for decades. It was time for them to fill the
hole in their massive cathedral, Santa Maria del Fiore. The building of this cathedral began in 1296
but it wasn t until 1418 when they started looking for the right architect for the job to build the dome.
They just didn t know how it could be done. Many architects came from all around Florence to present
their ideas. Filippo Brunelleschi s design ultimately won. Brunelleschi worked as a goldsmith

Yes Money Can Make You Happy By Cass R. Sunstein
Undoubtedly, money is and has been arguably the most important aspect of any society in the world.
Money is an essential piece of every day life because of the fact that nearly everything comes with a
price tag. With how important the aspect of money has become, there have been arguments about
whether money can truly make an individual happy. This particular topic has been highly controversial
with multiple different stands on the effect of money on happiness. With that being said, money does
influence people and makes them happier because they can live comfortably without worry, it allows
for many dreams to become realities, and it provides the opportunity to give back and help others.
First, money increases the happiness of people because ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In many instances, people cannot give back because they desperately need the money themselves. An
increase in prosperity would present the opportunity to provide for themselves along with help support

happiness, Cass Sunstein, from the article Yes, Money Can Make You Happy writes, In one study, the
best prediction of people s happiness was not how much they devoted to personal spending, but
instead how much they gave to others (Sunstein 271). The study that was completed produced
findings that displayed a relationship between sharing with others and personal happiness. Michael
Norton also presented similar feelings during his TED talk presentation titled, How to Buy Happiness.
In this video presentation he describes a study that recorded the feelings of undergraduate college
students when it came to spending money. The method involved giving these students money with the
freedom of spending the money on themselves or on others. As a result of the study, Norton shared,
When we called people back at the end of the day, people who spent money on other people got

  • 2. I First Heard About The Etude Op I first heard about the Étude Op. 10, No. 3, in E major composed by Frédéric Chopin in a TV drama. The protagonist introduces the piece as the Song of Farewell which is about the departure of two people. While I was listening to it, the piece walked me through a path of memories. This Étude Op. 10, No. 3, in E major is in ternary form, with ABA sections. The piece starts softly with legato. The narrow range notes form a motive that put people into peace. The arch shaped phrase introduces audiences into the journey. The bass harmony acts as an accompaniment and footprints that guide people back to their past steps by steps. Antecedent and consequent also appear in this piece which in the first time of the phrase, the melody comes in soft and quiet; in the second time, the phrase gets louder and is a variation of the first phrase. To me, these two corresponding melody acts like the process of recalling the past time. In the beginning, the memories from the past start appearing in minds, and soon, the pictures become clearer and more details pop up. With the uses of dynamics, first crescendo and follows by decrescendo, it develops the sadness of the piece in which it allows the audience to fall into the memories and soon after realising these precious times have already become the past that they can no longer go back and the decrescendo represents a sense of regret and sorrow. The second part, which is the B section of the piece, composes of a totally different melody and to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Mono Zygotics Literature Review In recent years, mental health professionals have become increasingly aware of the importance of genetic factors in the etiology (causes) of mental disorders. Since the Human Genome Project began its mapping of the entire sequence of human DNA in 1990, the implications of its findings for psychiatric diagnosis and treatment have accumulated rapidly. A new subspecialty known as biological psychiatry (also called physiological psychology or psychiatric genetics) has emerged from the discoveries of the last two decades. Biological psychiatry got its start in the late 1980s, when several research groups identified genes associated with manic depression and schizophrenia respectively. These studies ran into difficulties fairly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These studies are conducted with the hypothesis that illness should occur in the families of affected members at a higher rate than in appropriate control population, The second one would be twin studies with siblings Twin study attempts to separate effect of gene from that of the environment. Twin studies are done with certain assumptions: Mono zygotic (MZ) twins share 100% of genome, dizygotic (DZ) twins share approximately 50% of genome, both MZ and DZ twins share the same environment, thus environment as a confounding variable can be controlled. The last study would be adoption study to see if the environment can contribute to the mental illness instead of genetics this kind of study attempts to clarify the role of genetic versus environmental factors in a disease by studying two kinds of informative relationship; individuals who are genetically related but do not share familial environmental factors and individuals who share familial environment factors but are not genetically ... • 4. The Importance Of Dreams Dreams have been a mystery of the human mind since the beginning of time. Their purpose and importance to our lives varies depending on where you go for information, but it is clear that dreams are something that come along with being human. According to the theory of Sigmund Freud, dreams are a way for our mind to process the things we are feeling in the form of symbolism (Freud 350). While many brush off their dreams as simply a way for their brain to relieve stress and process the previous day, there is a large percentage of people who believe that their dreams are a message, or a warning, from the beyond. In Medieval times, one of the most common beliefs about dreams was that they were used as the primary way in which higher powers ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Miracles and dream visions are often paired together in the Christian faith, specifically inside of the Catholic denomination. According to the information that I found, they call these visions private revelations. Even though they accept the idea that a Christian can be exposed to a vision, they are quick to distinguish the difference between private revelation and magic. This is confirmed in a direct quote from the Global Catholic Network, which says Alleged revelations which propose to improve upon, correct or entirely supplant Public Revelation are rejected by the Church as inauthentic, regardless of the claims made for them. Such revelations include those of Mohammed in the Koran, Joseph Smith in the Book of Mormon, the writings of new age mystics, psychics and the like (Donovan, Apparitions/Private Revelations). Another well known dream vision is Caedmon s Hymn, which was written by Bede. Caedmon s Hymn is about a vision from God that changes a man s entire life around. Caedmon is not much help in his church community, because he cannot sing praises. Caedmon is so distraught by this on one occasion that he runs away to the stables and falls asleep. During his slumber, Caedmon dreams that God asks him to sing. Caedmon sings the most beautiful and poetic song about creation, and remembers every line when he awakes. He promptly goes and tells everyone he knows, and becomes revered by the church ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Human Overpopulation Overpopulation of Humans The impact of human activity on the environment is catastrophically devastating and destructible. Assisting to that destruction is the increasing number of people that make up the worlds population today. Overpopulation is the condition of giving birth to a number of people living on earth that over exceeds the amount of space, resources and land found on our planet. According to reports from the United Nations (2007), World population is currently growing by approximately 75 million people per year. Such growth should be considered alarming and a possible threat to people as well as our environment. Humans all over the world must understand that these changes in population growth will foreshadow many changes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... According to the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA), the transportation sector is the second largest source of CO2 emissions in the U.S. Automobiles and light duty trucks account for almost two thirds of emissions from the transportation sector and emissions have steadily grown since 1990. Other sources of transportation emissions are freight trucks, aircraft, trains and boats. Emissions from transportation depend on the number of trips or miles traveled by each type of vehicle each year, which are in turn influenced by larger economic trends and consumer behavior. Over the long term, changes in the fuel efficiency of vehicles (e.g., mileage), and in the type of fuel used can also influence the level of emissions. (2007) Controlling and managing this type of pollution requires far more than what people can ever imagine. A number of approaches attempting to take air pollution serious have already been implemented by government and other environmental agencies. Education and encouragement from the human population as a whole can make a difference. Deforestation Deforestation is the destruction of woodlands and forests permanently. The removal of trees in forests and woodlands has given a result of a degraded environment with a condensed biodiversity. Trees are known to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Shakespeare s Macbeth-Tragic Hero The Tragedy of Macbeth The Tragedy of Macbeth is one of Shakespeare s greatest stagewrites. He shows Macbeth in many different forms as a character. Macbeth is an ever changing character. Lady Macbeth adds on to this changing personality. Shakespeare hits all these points in three categories, known as tragic hero, dynamic character, round character. Macbeth is best known as a tragic hero because he fits into all the elements of a tragic hero which are, high social rank, tragic flaw, suffers complete ruin or death and faces downfall with courage and dignity. Macbeth has a high social rank in the beginning of the play he started out as the Thane of Glamis then was promoted to Thane of Cawdor by the king, and then he played fouly for the crown. In this case the king sent Ross to deliver a message that said And for and earnest of greater honor, he bade me, from him, call thee Thane of Cawdor. (1.3.104 105) To show him playing fouly for the crown I go and it is done. The bell invites me. Hear it not, Duncan, for it is knell That summons thee to heaven or hell. • 7. Shadow In Chad, Africa In the beginning, prior to the establishment of time and space there was a man named Shadow. Shadow was the servant of a king by the name of Alexander. King Alexander was a very cruel king, who found joy in abusing his power. One day, Shadow was ordered to go on a prolonged journey to the edge of what is now Chad, Africa to deliver a letter to a man who called himself Salvatore Orlando. King Alexander specifically demanded Shadow to not open the letter. Shadow, like the obedient servant he was, packed his belongings and headed on to the lengthy voyage ahead of him. • 9. How to Handle Violence in Youth Sports Everyone agrees that parent involvement is a good thing. But when the parent behaves inappropriately, it creates a poor environment for the children to learn and enjoy themselves. Sideline rage with parents behaving badly at youth sports events is such an epidemic, that 76% of respondents from 60 high school athletic associations said increased spectator interference is causing many officials to quit (Associated Press, 6/3/01). Parents are supposed to be role models, and the lessons they teach will determine their values and actions in the future. These days violence in children s sports is not limited to the playing field; overbearing parents are creating dangerous situations on the field. Involving your child in sports is important ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... At age ten, many kids have private coaching and attend specialized clinics in the off season. The coach is usually someone with a background in sports, either a retired professional player or coach. Practices are now scheduled for twice a week and attending a weekly clinic is strongly recommended, with a strength conditioning workout schedule between practices. All of these changes mean more involvement time for the parents. Parents are now spending up ten hours a week watching their children compete with other children, and this pressure can sometimes be too much for the parent. In 2002, Thomas Junta was convicted of involuntary manslaughter after he attacked Michael Costin, who later died of his injuries. Mr. Costin was refereeing a pickup game of hockey. The fight was witnessed by a dozen children including the children of both Mr. Junta and Mr. Costin (Butterfield, 2002). While this is by far one of the worst incidents in sports rage, there are other types of behavior that can still harm our youth. Physical violence is often a rare occurrence; verbal abuse and intimidation have been seen frequently. When a parents scream at their child after practice that he/she did not run fast enough or hit hard enough, can be considered a form of verbal abuse. Also consider when a parent of one child screams at the team for not performing well and not winning the game, this combined with swearing can reduce a child to tears. • 10. The Waco Incident Essay The Waco Incident My name is Jim, just Jim it s easier this way, and I was one of the nine survivors in the Waco compound standoff. Before I go into what I think went wrong to our religious sanctuary, let me tell you how I met David and a little about our great deciple. Back in the early 90 s I had been drumming in a nowhere rock band when I met and befriended David Koresh. I needed some new drum sticks, and on the way to a gig stopped in at a local music shop. Seeing the sticks in my hand the two strangers introduced themselves and asked if I was playing in a band right now. The two were David Koresh and his right man Steve Schneider. One irony of the Waco disaster, is that the right wing extremists and racists looked to Mount Carmel as a beacon; if they realized that so many of us were Black, Asian, and Latino, and that we despised their hateful politics and anger, they would probably feel bitterly betrayed. It was as if the community was an isolated bubble of a perfect world, where all races, colors, and creeds, lived and worshiped God together in perfect harmony, and I was glad to be a part of it. Now that is how I met my best friend, and the man who turned my life around and directed me toward God. Many a times he told me stories of his life before, his talks with God, and before becoming a deciphile of Jesus Christ. David was born in 1955 in a small town on the outskirts of Houston, Texas, to a single mother. Never knowing his father and his mother not wanting the responsibility he was mainly raised by his grandparents. He said his childhood was lonely, greatly contributed from the fact that he dropped out of high school at a very early age. Most of his days were of studying music and the Bible by himself. At the age of 20, he started going to different churches speaking his mind, which was slightly different than what these churches were used to, and was eventually asked to leave. After this he roamed, taking spot jobs for cash to get him to Hollywood so that he could become a rock star, but this also failed. He drifted back to Texas, where he ... • 11. Export Promotion Of Import Substitution In the ever globalizing world of today, exports have become a fundamental ingredient in country s growth. Many countries, especially the less developed ones , often use policies of trade liberalization to boost up their exports. The most commonly used policy is import substitution. However, sometimes export promotion also becomes a prominent part of country s economic policy. Unfortunately, Pakistan has never had a consistent, coherent and well articulated trade policy. Trading patterns have closely followed a cycle defined by a major departure from and return to protectionist import substitution policies. For Pakistan, import substitution strategy failed to boost up the economic performance of the country. Although, the policy of import substitution has resulted in the promotion of industries oriented towards the domestic market by using import restrictions, through high tariffs, quantitative restrictions, overvalued exchange rates, to encourage the replacement of imported consumer and manufactured goods by domestic products but it was also observed that domestic industries growing behind protective tariff walls had no incentive to become efficient in production. Infant industries also never grew up. In addition, Import substitution policies accompanied by exchange controls promoted the use of more capital intensive techniques of production. Just by looking at the way Pakistan s trade policy has fluctuated from protectionism to liberalism and back and forth repeatedly ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 14. The Museum Of Art Exhibitions Last week I decided to visit one of the most well known art exhibitions in Dallas. As I entered the Dallas Museum of Art I was immediately captivated by the striking and vivid acrylic mural on the walls created by Nicolas Party entitled Pathway. Party said to have worked on site at the exhibit for three weeks to transform the Museum s central pathway into a mesmerizing, lively colored forest; it was such a contrast to the rest of the exhibit s entrance. Straight ahead was the Nancy and Tim Hanley Gallery filled with dull blank white walls matched with a few art pieces; versus the pathway on the right filled with colorful life that was yanking me in the direction of a brand new world. To me it seemed as if the walls were desperately waiting to be brought to life by other inspired artist like Party. The mural not only caught my attention but it made me thirst for more fascinating art as such. As I continued down the intriguing path filled with distinctive shaped trees and bushes accompanied by splashes of different shades of green, blue and purple I found a random, seemingly misplaced painting right in the middle of the pathway. The portrait instantly became one of my favorites. There hung a large painting of two straight faced men with serious expressions having thin yet boldly dark eyebrows, perfectly winged eyeshadow and cherry red lipstick. This portrait was extremely protrude for the simple fact of how modernized it was. In today s era it s become more common to see men ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Adrian Peterson had just rushed two yards for the Viking s fourth touchdown of the night. Five minutes to go in the quarter and the NFC Championship game was tied. A combination of anticipation and excitement swirled within me as my dad and uncle are discussing our Super Bowl XLIV tickets. The Themes Of Hope And Freedom In The Shawshank Redemption In the film, The Shawshank Redemption directed by Frank Darabont, symbolism was used to highlight the main idea of holding onto hope. Darabont has effectively used different symbols throughout the film to convey the themes of hope and freedom in Shawshank. Remember Red, hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies. This quote said by Andy Dufresne in a letter to Red shows that Shawshank was portrayed as a place of hopelessness at the start. Jake was a very close friend of Brooks. He had taken care of Jake ever since he had found it with an injured wing and nursed it back to health. Jake was used as a symbol in the film to highlight the theme of hope, as Jake was found by Brooks with an injured wing after it had fallen out of its nest. Jake shows that hope was still present even in the darkest of times in life. Later on in the film, we see that Brooks was released from prison because of parole. This lead to Brooks releasing Jake before leaving prison and represents Brooks letting go of any hope he has of surviving life in the outside world. He symbolically looks for Jake while feeding the birds in the park, thinking he just might show up and say hello. Sadly, he neither finds Jake nor hope outside of prison. Brooks could not cope with the world outside of prison as he was institutionalised and results in him committing suicide. Another instance of birds being used as a symbol was after Andy escaped Shawshank prison. Red symbolizes Andy as being a caged bird in prison when he says, Sometimes it makes me sad, though... One might think he is in love with someone, but once he meets a different person, he may change his affection. Generally people agree that love is the highest form of affection, an emotion that produces deeply happy feelings that few events can disrupt. This is true in Shakespeare s Romeo and Juliet. Both Romeo and Juliet are willing to die for their love of each other. Juliet originally wants nothing to do with marriage or love, but as the play progresses, her new belief in love, and faithfulness, contrasts with her parents and nurse s views. In the beginning of the play, Juliet has no interest in marriage, but once she meets Romeo she falls hopelessly in love. Romeo attends the Capulet party and sees Juliet. After he meets her and leaves, she asks the nurse who he is. When she reveals that he is a Montague Juliet is devastated: My only love sprung from my only hate! / Too early seen unknown, and known too late! / Prodigious birth of love it is to me/ That I must love a loathed enemy (1.5.152 153). • 23. Difference Between Formal And Informal Imperialism DIFFERENCE BETWEEN FORMAL AND INFORMAL IMPERIALISM Name University Course Tutor Date Difference between formal and informal imperialism Throughout the history of the world, different kingdoms have been competing to expand their territories. In most cases, the expansion of theses territories has been at the expense of weaker territories that are incapable of fighting back effectively owing to different barriers . For example, the Mongols expanded their territory in less than a hundred years to over 6,000 miles using lightning fast archers who rode on horsebacks . An irrefutable fact about empires is the fact that they never hold together for long as they fall apart. However, as time has been passing, changes have been exhibited in the empires that are being formed. As such, historians normally divide imperialism into two types , formal, as well as informal imperialism. Consequently, this article explains the differences that exist between formal imperialism and informal imperialism by use of examples. To begin with, the literal meanings of the two types of imperialism act as a difference between them. For instance, informal imperialism may be taken to signify an authority without any trace of formality, also without any fixed rules set to control. As a matter of fact, it may be defined to be an authority without the usual forms that symbolize authority . Clearly, this is the opposite of all the values that formal imperialism encompasses. A couple of years ago, Australia watched on from their tellies as Four Corners unraveled the darkest of secrets in modern day greyhound racing. The allegations that live baiting is used during training and the corruption surrounding the policing of the sport, further supports the idea that greyhound racing should indefinitely be banned in all states across Australia. • 35. Hello, I m Johnny Cash Hello, I m Johnny Cash On February 26, 1932, a legend was born, only 2 hours north from Texarkana. Kingsland Arkansas is the hometown of Mr. Johnny Cash, a song writer, a performer, a country music singer, a guitarist, an alcoholic, and a lover. Cash was originally born as, John R. Cash, after his mother and father. Between his parents, they raised 6 children. When Cash was only 3, his father moved his family to Dyess Colony in the northeastern part of Arkansas, which became the childhood home of Cash. Here, his family became farmers. I think the first nerve that was struck for Johnny Cash, was when his older brother, Jack, died while cutting wood. Cash was so devastated that the day of his funeral, Cash went with a shovel to the grave site and dug him up, only at 12 years old. In his early years, Cash was influenced in music from his mother s hymns, to the work songs that the railroad workers, not far from his house, would sing. He graduated in 1950, and soon set off to find work in Detroit, never knowing all he had to do was open his mouth. However, he found himself working at an automotive plant in Pontiac Michigan in his early twenties. He soon realized that working on cars was not his thing. Cash decided that signing up for the U.S. Air Force was the right direction to go. He moved to Texas for basic training, where he met his first wife, Vivian Liberto, in San Antonio at a roller skating park. After basic training, Cash was shipped to Germany, which wasn t until ... • 36. Passive Resistance Rather than simply influencing society, peaceful resistance is a mark of freedom itself. Therefore, its impacts are neither positive nor negative, but an inherent quality of a free society. However, laws themselves may influence the people they govern either positively or negatively; reactions to these laws then reflect any perceived intentions such as helping or hindering society. The qualities of positivity or negativity rely on individual sentiments which then join in likeness and form factions. These factions then view each other as either progressing or stunting the growth of society. Thomas Jefferson distinguished between honest rebels and dishonest rebels (Mirkin); while people s motives cannot always be truly known, passive resistance often portrays honest emotions. As citizens continue to arm themselves with peaceful resistance, their sentiments reveal positive and negative effects, not the action itself. On January 21, 2017, pro life supporters gathered in Washington, D. C. after the Women s March (McMahon). This event marked the 44th annual protest against the Supreme Court decision on Roe v. Wade (McMahon). The Court s decision struck down a state ban on abortion unless the mother s life was at risk (McBride). Protestors ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Women s March gained support from international voices, similar to beginnings of the BLM movement. Also, the positive impacts of emotions displayed through civil disobedience outweigh any negative ones. Citizens in action allow voices of the people to be heard and coincide with founding American principles such as freedom of speech and liberty. America emerged from those who fueled wars, both against unfair laws and unjust ideology. Although resistance may indicate divisions among citizens, it creates the opportunity for conversation and unification. Reactions may be positive or negative, but peaceful resistance must be encouraged to have a free ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It was time for them to fill the hole in their massive cathedral, Santa Maria del Fiore. The building of this cathedral began in 1296 but it wasn t until 1418 when they started looking for the right architect for the job to build the dome. They just didn t know how it could be done. Many architects came from all around Florence to present their ideas. Filippo Brunelleschi s design ultimately won. Brunelleschi worked as a goldsmith apprentice as a boy and mastered many other aspects of art. He had just spent several years ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 38. Yes Money Can Make You Happy By Cass R. Sunstein Undoubtedly, money is and has been arguably the most important aspect of any society in the world. Money is an essential piece of every day life because of the fact that nearly everything comes with a price tag. With how important the aspect of money has become, there have been arguments about whether money can truly make an individual happy. This particular topic has been highly controversial with multiple different stands on the effect of money on happiness. With that being said, money does influence people and makes them happier because they can live comfortably without worry, it allows for many dreams to become realities, and it provides the opportunity to give back and help others. First, money increases the happiness of people because ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In many instances, people cannot give back because they desperately need the money themselves. An increase in prosperity would present the opportunity to provide for themselves along with help support people who are not as fortunate as them. To support the claim that giving back to others produces happiness, Cass Sunstein, from the article Yes, Money Can Make You Happy writes, In one study, the best prediction of people s happiness was not how much they devoted to personal spending, but instead how much they gave to others (Sunstein 271). The study that was completed produced findings that displayed a relationship between sharing with others and personal happiness. Michael Norton also presented similar feelings during his TED talk presentation titled, How to Buy Happiness. In this video presentation he describes a study that recorded the feelings of undergraduate college students when it came to spending money. The method involved giving these students money with the freedom of spending the money on themselves or on others. As a result of the study, Norton shared, When we called people back at the end of the day, people who spent money on other people got happier, while people who spent the money on themselves did not change (Norton). Norton illustrates the benefit of spending money prosocially. Both of these sources agree with each other ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
