Rodrigo Duterte And Martin Luther King
Have you ever compared about two people that not related to each other, but rather they are connected
because of their capability or skills that they have in common? Rodrigo Duterte is a president in the
Philippines that the whole world knows about his controversial statements. He served as a mayor of
Davao City and reelected six times. Many people doubt his capability of being a president for the
reason that he is poor, not an excellent speaker because occasionally he uses profanity words on his
statements or interviews and he is not well known. Martin Luther King, Jr is a well known for fighting
freedom for the black community. He is a leader of the Civil Rights Movement. King was arrested,
people bombed his house and people smear on him. But he advocates nonviolence to the black people.
The three characteristics that they have in common between Rodrigo Duterte and Martin Luther King,
Jr are empathetic, building a community and commitment.
The first characteristic that would be the most in common that they both have is empathetic. Rodrigo
Duterte came from a poor family. That s why he likes to help people, especially the poor people. In the
Philippines, there is a mass of poverty going on. Duterte always put his place in the position of poor
people considering he knows how does it feel like nothing. That s why a lot of people love him and
voted him as a president of the Philippines since he knows exactly how to communicate with poor
people. He hates drugs and corruption

The word chromatography, which is gotten from two Greek words actually signifying shading

that most types of chromatography don t rely on upon shading. A few sorts of chromatography are
generally utilized, among which are paper chromatography, slender layer chromatography or TLC,
fluid chromatography, gas chromatography, and superior fluid chromatography or HPLC.
Chromatography is useful to the point that some structure can be found in most logical research
centers the world over. For instance, in measurable science wrongdoing research centers, the FBI
keeps up a library of chromatograms of inks that are utilized industrially. In the first case in which
chromatography of inks were utilized, a man in Miami distorted travel and cost vouchers.
Notwithstanding, the ink pen he utilized had ink that wasn t accessible monetarily until 3 years after
the outings had occurred. The hypothesis behind chromatography is to permit a blend of diverse
chemicals to be conveyed or divided between a stationary stage and a portable stage (eluent or
dissolvable). The versatile stage may be a fluid or a gas; the stationary stage is ordinarily a strong. As
the portable stage streams over the stationary stage, the parts in the blend are conveyed along. The

Lapping Card Essay
Now that I have gone through all of the cards I will go back through them all to make sure I don t have
any over lapping categories. First of all while I was thinking of categories and readying the cards I
realized that what was on the card I started reflecting it on my own life. For example, some of the
cards taking about cleaning the house and then I thought I need to it too. I started to agree with these
cards so that they made sense in my own life and that they were like my own thoughts. They then fit
in to categories easier. Now have them all into groups I realize that I could have just used Garfinkel s
invariant procedures as my categories and just organized them based on how I made sense of the
cards. My first category could have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It would be like a world that has no meaning at all if we just questioned everything. If I kept questing
the cards I would never be able to place them in categories or ever be done with this project. The most
important category would have been typification. I had to keep coming up with different strategies and
rules to be able to make sense of the cards. I feel that the categories them self are different
typification. I have different strategies that are making sense of the cards so that I can place them in to
groups that I already know about. The criteria of the assignment made it difficulty when think of
categories since we couldn t have no more than ten. I at first started out with a group called friends
then I did one of family and then realized I could have a broader category called people. I made a
strategy that any card that talked about a person or could have been said by a person would be grouped
together. Most of the cards could fit in a category called stocks of knowledge. Whenever I used
previous knowledge to make sense of the card is an example of this. The card that talked about David
Beckman I put in the hobbies category. I know that he is a soccer player and assume that this person s
hobby is soccer. If I didn t know he played soccer this card would have gone in the people category.

Process Paper
How to Take a Great Picture Every Time The best pictures aren t always the ones taken by
professionals or of incredible scenery. Memorable pictures are the ones that truly count and anyone
can take them. Getting familiar with the overload of camera settings, equipment and terminology is a
process that comes with experience. Photography is an art that, like many others, takes time to master.
There are many factors and techniques that play into taking pictures. Things grow more technical the
further you reach into photography. As a profession, photography is divided into different focuses and

Direct light is based on the size and distance of the light source. Smaller light sources that are further
away from the photo s subject will create sharper, more intense shadows. On the other hand, diffused
light covers the subject in a more full, blended way. Shadows appear more bright in diffused light.
This lighting is usually ideal for portraits of people with uneven skin. A camera s aperture, shutter
speed and ISO also influence the lighting of an image. Aperture and shutter speed can be confusing at
first as they function in opposite directions. The larger the aperture (measured in f stops) is, the
brighter a picture will be. The size of the aperture is the size of the hole which lets light into the lens.
Shutter speed is how quickly the camera lens is exposed to that light. The higher the shutter speed, the
darker the picture will be. Like the aperture, the higher the ISO, the brighter the picture will be. The
downfall to a higher ISO is that the image will appear more grainy. It is the photographer s job to
balance natural lighting with the camera s settings in order to set a lighting that will make the picture
look best.
Aside from all of the technical and analytical factors in photography, the last point to make is simply
taking a lot of pictures. When asked how many keepers do you get from a game? , professional
photographer Scott Kelby answered I get that question fairly

The Luke Bryan
The contribution to music demonstrated by the career of Luke Bryan proves beyond a doubt that the
country music singer should be inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame. His worthiness of this
award is shown in his, charity work, the awards he has won and all the achievements he has made, and
everyone who has inspired him to become a country music singer in the first place. Bryan would not
be where he is today with the support of his wife and 2 kids. Bryan s parents are peanut farmers and
he used to help them when he was in high school. His brother died in a car accident 2 years ago and
Bryan and his sister went through a tuff time when that happened. Luke Bryan was born July 17, 1976
in Leesburg, Georgia. Bryan got his first guitar at the age of fourteen and by the age of fifteen he was
able to entertain a small crowd. It was all uphill from there. ( Luke Bryan Biography. )
The most important reason Luke Bryan should be inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame is
because of his charity work. He has put together millions of concerts and tours for people with special
needs. Bryan has donated a great deal of money to children s hospitals to help buy more supplies and
medicine for the patients (Finan). He played in one of Deirk Bently s concerts and earned money for
children s special needs camp: (Kaylor 1 1). He loves doing charity concerts and performing at

Gender Role Portrayal In Disney Princess Films
Title
Beyond the Prince: A Study of Gender Role Portrayal in Disney Princess Films
Introduction
This study will examine princess films and decide whether color of the princesses has an effect on the
gender role portrayal of each character. By using a content analysis, this research will identify the
difference in each princess with respect to their color.
It is important to identify the role the Disney Corporation plays in today s culture. The company has
numerous princesses films with identical merchandise. Parents buy the items for their children and
through movie and merchandise; children are being informed such as how a lady ought to act, think or
dress. Gender role in Disney princess films remains important because of the messages it shows to
children. We need to identify whether gender roles presented in the movies modulate the intellect of a
woman in a modern world or whether Disney princesses are restricted to the female gender roles such
as nurturing and submissiveness. In addition, we need to study whether the messages are diverse for
varied princesses.

In other words, children learn roles through outside experiences that show how others or their
favourite character does a particular task. The social construction perspective helps us understand how
these roles are created. Berger and Luckmann in The Social Construction of Reality (1966), examined
how the social world is constructed. This theory lays a groundwork for understanding specific social
constructions including gender and race representations in the media. From this perspective the
children are limited in their capabilities to act because the objective reality predetermines the actions

Levels Of Prejudice Essay
Being prejudice is when an individual has negative opinions, thoughts, and feelings toward a specific
person or group of people (Parrillo, 2016). When an individual is prejudice the outcome is frequently
negative, but could result in a positive manner depending on the situation. There are three different
levels of prejudice, action orientation level of prejudice, cognitive level of prejudice, and emotional
level of prejudice. An individual could perform any of these levels of prejudice without apprehending
it. There are two approaches to prejudice, psychological, which includes, self justification, personality,
and frustration. The second approach of prejudice is sociological, which includes, socialization,
economic competition, and social ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is where prejudice can have a slightly positive effect on a group or individual, for example,
people think all vegetarians eat healthily or the example in the book is all African Americans are
superstar athletes. However, individuals who are vegan or African American might take that
offensively and feel as if people are just grouping them with the rest of the vegans and African
Americans. The media portrays stereotyping and prejudice on the television, radio, and newspapers.
What people read and watch easily impacts their perception of the world, studies show that regular
televisions viewers reveal a strong association between their exposure to the local or national newscast
and their racial attitudes and perceptions (Parrillo, 2016). The biggest stereotype I ve witnessed in the
media is specific gender roles, for instance, males are associated with the work oriented and masculine
characters and the women are associated with the love and family oriented roles. Not only does the
media portray gender roles but they also portray race related parts. For example, African Americans
play the unfortunate criminals who are always violent, and white people play rich, content, and
outgoing characters. If the media didn t portray such a negative perception of certain ethnics and
races, I truly believe fewer people would act in prejudicial way and stereotype other

Argument Essay Draft 2
To Hit or Not to Hit In 1973, Major League Baseball accepted Rule 5.11, also known as the
Designated Hitter (DH) rule. This rule allows a player, who does not play a defensive position, to hit
in place of the pitcher. The rule was created because pitchers, most of whom are notoriously bad
hitters, were basically a free out for the opposing team. However, for some ungodly reason, the new
DH rule was only established in one of the two leagues in the MLB. As a result, the American League,
the league using the DH rule, has consistently produced higher batting averages since 1973 than the
National League. When two teams from different leagues play each other, they ... Show more content

By expanding the DH rule to the National League, the MLB could create and extend more careers for
players just like Martinez. Many people against the designated hitter believe having a DH ruins the
integrity of the game. They think that teams should need to strategize by having pitchers bunt runners
to the next base or force managers to make the tough decision of when to substitute a hitter for the
pitcher. People opposed to the DH rule believe it is wrong to change the rules because this game has
been played the same way for more than 100 years. This is both a closed minded and ancient way of
thinking. Rules are meant to evolve and change over time to adjust to the times. The days of
sacrificing at bats to bunt runners over are over. The sacrifice bunt has been virtually destroyed by
new statistics and metrics that show how inefficient it is. The game is in need of more offense and
expanding the DH rule to both leagues solves that problem and is a necessary evolvement to the sport.
Over the past few years, pitching has been dominant and the officials in the MLB offices have looked
for new ways to increase offensive production. For the 2017 season, the MLB has attempted to fix this
problem by implementing a new type of baseball with a harder exterior and smaller laces which
increase the distance and reduce drag (also increasing distance) of batted balls. As a result, home run
totals across the league have increased

Film Analysis Of Peter Koeleman s The Headline Woman
In a big city like Chicago filled with great music and adventure, good times are easy to track.
Unsurprisingly, so is crime and misconduct, famously running rampant with the media trailing close

those they re pursuing? The musical adaptation film Chicago suggests unethical actions and portrays a
dramatic narrative filled with rumors, misjudgment, and sensationalism. Set in a similar time period to
The Headline Woman, Chicago tells the story of stardom seeking Roxie Hart who joins the company
of murderesses on death row after killing her lover out of jealousy and madness. With assistance from
gatekeeper Mama and the charming, sharp witted attorney Billy Flynn, Hart finally gets the press and
fame she was searching for. Her and fellow inmate, Velma Kelly, spend the rest of the movie
competing for the front page and utilizing the press to avoid taking responsibility for their actions.
Although, it didn t start out that way. Almost immediately, in the second scene of the movie,
photojournalists and reporters were overwhelming and berating Hart asking, why did you do it? the
minute she got dragged out her front door in handcuffs. Star Tribune photojournalist Peter Koeleman
would probably not consider this an ethical standard for today s practitioners. The movie reporters

People who interact with different cultures find that their values and interest are similar and began to
see themselves as mates forging an intercultural relationship that turns into marriage. The community
has a great impact on mate selection and family formation (McGoldrick, 1998). Molina et al., (2004)
argue that communities serve as proxies for extended families in many societies and are extremely
important in bringing intercultural couples together. People who are in intercultural relationship must
understand that there will be challenges and obstacles from others that are against interracial or
intercultural relationships. If the relationship is valuable to them then they will be able to over come
adversity such as prejudice and discrimination and a host of other negative challenges they may occur.

Examples Of Racism In The Movie Crash
The 2004 film: Crash , featured actors such as; Sandra Bullock, Matt Dillon, and Terrence Howard. A
quote from Simon Braund with the website Empire, that specialises in movie reviews; A haunting,
perceptive and uncompromising examination of controversial subject matter... (Braund). I personally,
was left in tears and had an overflow of emotions by the time the film ended. Crash , had many
examples of stereotyping, prejudice and discrimination, that live in our societies today; and the
struggles that come along with them. To begin, one thing I immediately noticed about this film; was
the amount of social constructs that were shown. When taking notes, it felt like my penil never left the
paper as I wrote down all the things I saw. The amount of racism that is present is just overwhelming.
The first example of this shown in the movie, was when Farhad, and his Daughter Dorri, who are both
Persian; are attempting to purchase a handgun. The shopkeeper becomes frustrated when they begin to
speak in a foreign language. He then refuses to let Farhad buy a gun, gets extremely loud and forces
him out of the store. Also very plentiful in the film; stereotyping. Within the first five minutes, there
was already a dispute; between Ria, who is a Latina woman and an Asian woman who was unnamed.
The Asian woman had just rear ended Ria, and she began to make remarks about how Mexican
women can t drive. This was very offensive as to define Ria by her race, but also because she is not

Here Amleth directly knew that his uncle was guilty quite in contrast to Hamlet s case and Amleth s
life was in great danger also in contrast to Hamlet s as his uncle Claudius was fond of his nephew. He
takes good care of him and calls him his son as well.
There is no great apparent danger to Hamlet s life from Claudius until he is aware that Hamlet knows
of his devilish act of murdering the King Hamlet. In the case of Amleth he had every reason to act as
if he were mad because that was necessary to him to accomplish his duty of avenging his father s
murder. It is hard to understand why Hamlet pretends madness when he could have done what he had
to with great ease and no one would have objected to Claudius dethronement as Claudius was not
popular with his people, which is quite evident from the fact that Laertes could raise a public revolt
against the king so boldly. In Amleth s case it was completely different, his uncle had complete
support in the coup. And A.C.Bradley further observes that Shakespeare was not properly able to link
all the portions of Amleth s story into Hamlet .
The other way of analyzing Hamlet is from the play itself. This is the most fascinating part and it
makes the most interesting reading. First and foremost we must go to the backdrop in which the play
is set and the introduction of Hamlet into the play.

Samuel Langhorne Clemens Research Paper
Samuel Langhorne Clemens (a.k.a. Mark Twain) was an American author, who wrote during the
Realism period, popularly known for his most famous work The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. In many
of his works, we see the realities of this era, how times had a massive difference between today s
times. Clemens is known for being one of the most significant writers of the 19th, as well as the 20th
century.
Clemens was born in Florida, Missouri on November 30, 1835; sadly, he passed away, at the age of
74, on April 21, 1910 in Redding, Connecticut. During his childhood, Clemens was raised in
Hannibal, a large town located near the Mississippi River, where he witnessed various violent crimes,
as well as, hate acts against African Americans. The violent acts he saw in Hannibal would later
influence him to write Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. After his father s unexpected death, his family
went into debt; this would later inspire him to write various novels. Clemens literary time period,

The Is Not Our Differences That Divide Us Essay
A poet named Audre Lorde, once said, It is not our differences that divide us. It is our inability to

Friction Stir Welding And Artificial Neural Networks
1. INTRODUCTION 1.1 BACKGROUND Friction stir welding ( FSW) and Artificial neural
networks (ANN) are two well known approaches in their respective field. FSW is a well known
method in material sciences and ANN in computer science. The aim is to combine these two
approaches to get some important results. Friction stir welding (FSW) is a novel method of joining
materials in solid state. It was invented by the Welding Institute (TWI) in 1991. It was initially applied
for joining aluminium and later expanded its domain for joining similar and dissimilar alloys.
Basically in FSW a specially designed rotating cylindrical tool that comprises of shoulder and pin is
used. The pin of the rotating tool is plunged into the sheet material and the shoulder comes into
contact with the surface of sheet, and then traverses in the desired direction. The contact between the
rotating tool and the sheet generate heat which softens the material below the melting point and with
the stirring caused by the pin, the material within the processed zone undergoes intense plastic
deformation yielding a dynamically recrystallized fine grain microstructure. Artificial Neural
Networks (ANN) is a network of simple processing elements (neurons) which exhibits complex
behavior, determined by the connections between the processing elements and element parameter.
Each neuron is connected to other neurons by means of directed communication links, each with an
associated weight. The weight represents

Nesting In South Dakota
In South Dakota there is few Osprey left in the wild. The birds are much like Bald Eagles which have
been on the rise. They differ though by appearance and nesting habits. Nesting is one of the main
reason the Osprey are retreating. They do not like to start new nests in places they do not know,
meaning they like to be with their population.
B. About the Osprey The birds live in many areas in the United States around freshwater and seawater.
They are birds of prey with a wingspan of 60 . They are white bodied with a black stripe coming from
their eye to their wings which are black also.
The males choose the nesting place which is ideally in a large tree near bodies of water. They live in
the Black Hills but, with sites like these declining it is making it hard for the population to expand. ...

Osprey are equipped with the best of nature s fishing abilities. They have strong wings, long legs,
reversible outer toes, spicules, and long claws. All of which aid in the catching of fish.
C. Current status Since 2003, Minnesota and Idaho have brought in 120 chicks. They are tracked and
monitored before their first flight to make sure they are safe.
D. Management Plan Nesting is vital to the repopulation to these birds, therefore building manmade
nesting sights is a great possibility. The birds like higher tree to keep away from predators but if there
were manmade prevention systems it would make many more places an opportunity to nest. Spreading
the populations boundaries would increase the likelihood of increase. Tracking the chicks is also
necessary because knowledge of the flight patterns could potentially help gain knowledge about how

The Evolution Of Logistics Within Warfare
When considering the evolution of logistics in warfare, it is important to realize that both
opportunities and problems must be recognized for the former to be capitalized upon and the latter to
be resolved. The first recorded war occurred in approximately 2700 BC; however, the prevailing
attitude towards logistics in warfare remained largely unchanged for approximately 4,600 years, and
that is a problem. Even among recognized experts in warfare, up until the 20th century, logistics was
eschewed as a necessary evil. However, it was not considered to be an opportunity, as evidenced by
Clausewitz, so its maintenance is always a necessary condition. But, strictly viewed, all activities thus

59).
The U.S. military has been one of the major if not primary innovators of logistics in warfare since
WW1, and particularly during and after WW2. In fact, during WW2 the Germans lacked mechanized
transport to a stunning degree, and to further complicate matters, the Germans lacked standardization.
The lack of standardization is shown by the Luftwaffe having over 425 models and variants of aircraft
it relied on. Whereas the U.S. strove to rely on fewer models to streamline the requirements for spare
parts. Additionally, 80 to 85 percent of the Wehrmacht was supplied by horses, in fact the Germans
used more horses during WW2 than they had during WW1. Further complicating matters, to
mechanize transport for 15 percent of their military they confiscated trucks, to the point of having 151
different types and models in service. By contrast the U.S. used one primary truck the deuce and a half
, thus reducing the strain of having the correct spares in the correct place when needed (Tucker
Tucker, 2016, pp. 1034 1035). It should also be noted that it was the U.S. that provided mechanized
transport to all allied armies, which was largely lacking prior to this. Thus the U.S. altered how all
military forces view the role of not only logistics but of mechanized transport in warfare. One other
important change brought on during WW2 was the use of air logistics. To a limited extent

River flows from the side of the hill named Xiangshan; Students work in the quiet garden view

For students and teachers, having a chance to be in this cultural environment is a life s fortune.
Although today s social life is so different from the past, people are getting harder to focus on pure
academic research because of the distractions from daily affairs. Especially for higher degree students
that rely on independent research, which provides freedom, but also brings the problems of shallow
research. Currently, the higher degree education in contemporary ceramic art of Asian should
construct its own value system that suits Eastern culture and aesthetic. The views of above aspects had
formed the exhibition s main concept.
The Asian art academies are facing the same situation in the higher degree education of ceramic art.
The day to day teaching needs new energy and clear direction; the homogeneity in teaching should be
avoided, and the lack of uniqueness should be made up. So, we need to focus on the root of problem
and plan ahead. The scholar Zhu Xi has asked in his book The Feeling Arisen By Reading: Asking

Religious Allegory In The Film The Seventh Seal

want to believe, but cannot? A question that can resonate with a copious amount of us. The fear of the
unknown, fear of a death with no afterlife but also a fear of one with a promise of possible damnation,
fear of death in general. Antinous Block (Max von Sydow) the main protagonist of the film The
Seventh Seal faces this internal dilemma throughout the entirety of the motion picture with no real

theoretical demons, his own personal fear of death. To Bergman s utter delight and joy, he was not
alone with those sentiments. The film was originally written as a screenplay with the title Painting on

What Is The Use Of Symbolism In Beginning Again, By Franz...
In his poem, Beginning Again, Franz Wright uses acute forms of symbolism to convey a collective
human desire to become better. It is common to have experiences in life where there is a desire, after
self realization, for a new start as a better person. In fantasy, an improved version of one s self would
not be plagued with issues, rather they are idealized as being carefree and composed. The idea of
future improvement, in combination with the macabre chaos caused by Wright s use of symbolism,
intensify the relatability of the poem. From the poem s first line, If I could stop talking, completely

Nelson s Model Essay
Nelson s model has mainly two constituents. In order to understand them, you have to ask and answer
the question: What is occupation? This is sometimes a very challenging concept to understand.
Whenever this question is asked, there is no direct answer and there are often many versions of the
answer, all of which are accurate. In this essay, the popular question will be explored according to
Nelson s model. An example of a real life occupation will be included in order to show both
understanding and what the concept entails. I have played hockey during my entire school career. It is
something that I enjoy immensely, both playing and coaching. Hockey requires many skills which
include being able to work as a team, having good listening skills and how to observe, predict and
make speedy decisions. I always had practice three times a week and a match once a week. Hockey
required me to be able to do various things at once. I had to run, dribble and observe at the same time.
I needed to know who to pass the ball to and exactly when to do so. Playing hockey taught me many
skills such as punctuality, how to treat my body with respect and appreciation, patience, good

The Role Of The Nurse Manager In NHS Scotland
Within NHS Scotland, the Nurse Manager role is afforded an array of designations such as Clinical
Nurse Manager, Head of Nursing, Lead Nurse, and Service Manager. The role is routinely referred to
as a leadership and management role and is cited as within the echelons of middle management (NES

Manager role identified a significant absence of Scottish based literature. This leaves one to conjecture
that the role has emerged within NHS Scotland in an ad hoc manner, being highly dependent on
locality drivers, and with no formally agreed definition of role.
The lack of role definition combined with significant expansion of the Nurse Manager role and its
associated responsibilities is argued to have increased the plethora of designations within the global
nursing field (Cathcart et al 2010). Stateside, The American Organization of Nurse Executives (2011)

Biopsychosial Medical Model
Don t treat the disease, treat the patient WO. A quote that makes a big statement in the medical world
questioning the treatment the patient receives. George Engel believed in understanding the patient not
the disease who he or she is suffering from. This lead to the creation and development of the
Biopsychosial Model of health and illness a work instrument used by psychologist in order to
understand the cause and effect of life outcomes on health and wellbeing. This model was developed
by George L. Engle an American medical doctor, who specialized in psychiatry. He created this model
with the whole purpose of understanding patients better, but as well as providing a better quality

Themes Of Existentialism As A Way Of Life
Existentialism
It is a philosophy which emphasizes individual existence, freedom, and choice. It is the view that
humans define their own meaning in life, and try to make rational decisions despite existing in an
irrational universe. This philosophy focuses on the question of human existence, and the feeling that
there is no purpose or explanation at the core of existence. It holds that, as there is no God or any other
transcendent force, the only way to counter this nothingness (and hence to find meaning in life) is by
embracing existence. Contrary to Absurdism (though it is always connected to it), which seeks the
inherent value and meaning of life and the human inability to find it, Existentialism is the means of
finding a meaning in life and accepting it without question. Existentialism ideas came out of a ... Show

Existentialism as a Way of Life Philosophy should not be thought of primarily either as an attempt to
investigate and understand the self or the world, or as a special occupation that concerns only a few.
Rather, philosophy must be thought of as fully integrated within life. The concept of philosophy as a
way of life manifests itself in existentialist thought in a number of ways
1. Immanence
Philosophy studies life from the inside. For Kierkegaard, for example, the fundamental truths of my
existence are not representations, rather, the truths of existence are immediately lived, felt and acted.
B. Anxiety and Authenticity Human existence is in some way on its own ; anxiety (or anguish) is the
recognition of this fact. Many existentialists tended to stress the significance of emotions or feelings.
Related to anxiety is the concept of authenticity, which says existentialist spin on the Greek notion of
the good life . Certainly, if authenticity involves being on one s own , then there would seem to be
some kind of value in celebrating and sustaining one s difference and independence from others.

The Conquest Of The Americas
The conquest of the Americas is one of the most important events in modern history. The invasion,
which took centuries to complete, created a trans atlantic world. The people that began the conquest
were Spaniards, inhabitants of the Iberian Peninsula, primarily from the Christian kingdoms of
Castille and Aragon. Following the initial discovery By Cristobal Colon in 1492, Spaniards conquered
most of modern South and Central America, as well as the Caribbean. They did this in the words of
Bernal Diaz de Castillo, a conquistador that took part in the invasion of Mexico; we came here to
serve God and the king and also to get rich . As the Spanish noblemen himself states, most colonists
decided to engage in the conquest because of multiple reasons. Chiefly a devotion to the Catholic
Church and its mission to convert all heathens . A love of country, expressed in a desire to expand the
empire, both materially and ideologically. And perhaps most importantly these young men were
guided by a desire for profit and social advancement, the like of which would of impossible in
Motherland Spain . In this essay I will consider the motives that led to the conquest and destruction of
the Aztec and Inca peoples of modern Mexico and Peru. In particular this paper will look at why the
conquest was possible, both physically and idiotically. Also I will look at how the conquest received,
both in distant Spain and by the conquered peoples themselves.
Why 1492? Spain was jubilant, having

Smaller light sources that are further away from the photo s subject will create sharper, more intense shadows. On the other hand, diffused light covers the subject in a more full, blended way. Shadows appear more bright in diffused light. This lighting is usually ideal for portraits of people with uneven skin. A camera s aperture, shutter speed and ISO also influence the lighting of an image. Aperture and shutter speed can be confusing at first as they function in opposite directions. The larger the aperture (measured in f stops) is, the brighter a picture will be. The size of the aperture is the size of the hole which lets light into the lens. Shutter speed is how quickly the camera lens is exposed to that light. The higher the shutter speed, the darker the picture will be. Like the aperture, the higher the ISO, the brighter the picture will be. The downfall to a higher ISO is that the image will appear more grainy. It is the photographer s job to balance natural lighting with the camera s settings in order to set a lighting that will make the picture look best. Essay To Hit Or Not To Hit Nic Wilson Dr. Hancock ENGWR 300 10:30 8 October 2017 Argument Essay Draft 2 To Hit or Not to Hit In 1973, Major League Baseball accepted Rule 5.11, also known as the Designated Hitter (DH) rule. This rule allows a player, who does not play a defensive position, to hit in place of the pitcher. The rule was created because pitchers, most of whom are notoriously bad hitters, were basically a free out for the opposing team. However, for some ungodly reason, the new DH rule was only established in one of the two leagues in the MLB. As a result, the American League, the league using the DH rule, has consistently produced higher batting averages since 1973 than the National League. By expanding the DH rule to the National League, the MLB could create and extend more careers for players just like Martinez. Many people against the designated hitter believe having a DH ruins the integrity of the game. They think that teams should need to strategize by having pitchers bunt runners to the next base or force managers to make the tough decision of when to substitute a hitter for the pitcher. People opposed to the DH rule believe it is wrong to change the rules because this game has been played the same way for more than 100 years. This is both a closed minded and ancient way of thinking. Rules are meant to evolve and change over time to adjust to the times. The days of sacrificing at bats to bunt runners over are over. The sacrifice bunt has been virtually destroyed by new statistics and metrics that show how inefficient it is. The game is in need of more offense and expanding the DH rule to both leagues solves that problem and is a necessary evolvement to the sport. Over the past few years, pitching has been dominant and the officials in the MLB offices have looked for new ways to increase offensive production. For the 2017 season, the MLB has attempted to fix this problem by implementing a new type of baseball with a harder exterior and smaller laces which increase the distance and reduce drag (also increasing distance) of batted balls. Surveys performed by various health agencies, including the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA, 2007), Health Canada (Becalski et al., 2010), the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA, 2011), and the Swiss Office of Public Health (Zoller et al., 2007), have reported that furan is present in a wide range of foods, including roasted coffee, baby foods, cereal products, fruits juices, canned vegetables, cooked and canned meats, beer, and wheat breads. The FDA estimated human exposure to furan according to concentration data posted through spring 2007 and reported a mean and 90th percentile of 0.26 and 0.61 μg furan/kg bw/day for the 2+ year olds from the consumption of adult food, and 0.41 and 0.99 μg furan/kg bw/day for the 0 to 1 year olds from the consumption of infant foods (Dinovi and Mihalov, 2007). The EFSA reported that brewed coffee was the major contributor to furan exposure for adults, while the major contributors to exposure in toddlers and other children were fruit juice, milk based products, and cereal based ... • 25. Friction Stir Welding And Artificial Neural Networks 1. INTRODUCTION 1.1 BACKGROUND Friction stir welding ( FSW) and Artificial neural networks (ANN) are two well known approaches in their respective field. FSW is a well known method in material sciences and ANN in computer science. The aim is to combine these two approaches to get some important results. Friction stir welding (FSW) is a novel method of joining materials in solid state. It was invented by the Welding Institute (TWI) in 1991. It was initially applied for joining aluminium and later expanded its domain for joining similar and dissimilar alloys. Basically in FSW a specially designed rotating cylindrical tool that comprises of shoulder and pin is used. The pin of the rotating tool is plunged into the sheet material and the shoulder comes into contact with the surface of sheet, and then traverses in the desired direction. The contact between the rotating tool and the sheet generate heat which softens the material below the melting point and with the stirring caused by the pin, the material within the processed zone undergoes intense plastic deformation yielding a dynamically recrystallized fine grain microstructure. Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) is a network of simple processing elements (neurons) which exhibits complex behavior, determined by the connections between the processing elements and element parameter. Each neuron is connected to other neurons by means of directed communication links, each with an associated weight. The weight represents ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Evolution Of Logistics Within Warfare When considering the evolution of logistics in warfare, it is important to realize that both opportunities and problems must be recognized for the former to be capitalized upon and the latter to be resolved. The first recorded war occurred in approximately 2700 BC; however, the prevailing attitude towards logistics in warfare remained largely unchanged for approximately 4,600 years, and that is a problem. Even among recognized experts in warfare, up until the 20th century, logistics was eschewed as a necessary evil. The U.S. military has been one of the major if not primary innovators of logistics in warfare since WW1, and particularly during and after WW2. In fact, during WW2 the Germans lacked mechanized transport to a stunning degree, and to further complicate matters, the Germans lacked standardization. The lack of standardization is shown by the Luftwaffe having over 425 models and variants of aircraft it relied on. Whereas the U.S. strove to rely on fewer models to streamline the requirements for spare parts. Additionally, 80 to 85 percent of the Wehrmacht was supplied by horses, in fact the Germans used more horses during WW2 than they had during WW1. Further complicating matters, to mechanize transport for 15 percent of their military they confiscated trucks, to the point of having 151 different types and models in service. By contrast the U.S. used one primary truck the deuce and a half , thus reducing the strain of having the correct spares in the correct place when needed (Tucker Tucker, 2016, pp. 1034 1035). It should also be noted that it was the U.S. that provided mechanized transport to all allied armies, which was largely lacking prior to this. Thus the U.S. altered how all military forces view the role of not only logistics but of mechanized transport in warfare. One other important change brought on during WW2 was the use of air logistics. To a limited extent ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
