Criticism Of Media Convergence
Media convergence in the digital era constructs a global flat earth , allowing for interaction of old and
new mediums across various media platforms. Technology has become an increasingly dominant
means of communication as it allows for information to be stored and shared across great distances.
Flew (2005) suggests that this globalisation permissible through digital and online communication has
effected cultural change. Individuals can communicate from any part of the world, irrespective of
physical and geographic barriers via an interactive digital media environment across networked ICT
Devices. Thus he suggests that new media is synonymous with digital media and therein digitisation
the translation of information into binary code, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Kindle s remediate books but improve certain features, inclusive of altering typography style and size,
offering highlighting tools, built in dictionaries and allowing the reader to purchase new books
through the device (Hitt 2013). Since its introduction in 2007, approximately 43.7 million Kindle e
readers have been sold as of late 2014 (Trefis Team 2014). The Kindle does not seek to replace
physical books; rather it uses technological convergence to store dense digital information on small,
portable physical spaces. This isn t to say that new mediums have replaced older formats altogether;
on the contrary, they have altered them to suit the change in how we communicate.
One could argue that the decline of traditional media at the hands of media convergence prompted the
incorrect presumption that old media was being superseded by the new (Lugmayr Dal Zotto 2015, pp.
4). Conversely, modern commentators have argued that new and old media interact across different
media forms and platforms. Jenkins asserts that new media technologies enabled the same content to
flow through many different channels and assume many different forms (2006, pg. 10). Acland (2007)
echoes this sentiment, reiterating that new digital media refashion old media formats. Vogue is a

Papa Burrito Research Paper
Awesome Stacked Papa Burrito
Last week I ate at Acapulco and enjoyed a delicious 12 inch Papa Burrito. The cheesy smell made my
nostrils dance. The beefy aroma made my mouth water. The Chile Verde smothered on top of the
burrito tingled my nose. The rice had an essence of chicken broth and all these ingredients were inside
a soft flour tortilla.
The Papa Burrito looks very large and wide with a lot of flavor inside. I grab a fork and when I cut
into the burrito I saw a mound of beef with melted cheese dripping off from the fork. Surrounding the
burrito was the orangey rice and brownish warm beans on the right of my plate was a pile of fresh
green lettuce topped with a reddish slice of tomato. The whole burrito was topped with a cheesy white

Sara Deturk Summary
After reading the article by Sara DeTurk I feel as though This journal investigates the lived encounters
of individuals who go about as partners in light of a legitimate concern for social equity. In this article
it talked about how Meetings were controlled to research the significance of the partner character and
the strategies partners use to intrude on simplifications, bias, and cruelty others. While reading the
article I interpreted that Findings recommend that individuals who stand up for the benefit of social
justice from places of relative power do as such an out of personality worries that stress moral
commitments, generally through definitive and dialogic practices that draw on their typical capital,

I personally believe that Trapped in these meetings are the implications they dole out to the
partner/ally personality, a territory of covering and moving fields of impact and assets, the points of
interest and strains partners confront as rhetors acting to a great extent for the benefit of others, and
the decisions they make even with these wonders. Truthfully I think that it s vital, in shutting/breaking
down, to both respect and evaluate the part that partners/allies play in social equity. Partners work
from both unselfishness and self intrigue, and are not generally powerful in their actions in the interest
of social equity. Such happenings, without a doubt, regularly reflect misinformed stances of special
gatherings, are constrained to activities that stance little risk to their prosperity, and at last serve to re
engrave social and social capital. Numerous collusions, moreover, might be particular to specific
occasions or settings, and being a ally to one gathering or individual shields nobody from the
likelihood of ignorance or oppression towards

West Memphis Three Men Research Paper
Murder begins where self defense ends. This quote from Georg Buchner can be used to describe the
tragic deaths of three little boys who were rendered defense less against their attackers. On May 5,
1993 in West Memphis, Arkansas, three young second grade boys, by the names of Christopher Byers,
Steven Branch, and Michael Moore, were brutally murdered after being beaten and hogtied by their
own shoelaces. A year later, Damien Echols, Jason Baldwin, and Jessie Misskelley were convicted and
sent to prison for this heinous crime. Even though the three men were convicted for the crime, there is
still great controversy as to who actually killed the three boys. Throughout all this controversy,
evidence, testimony, confessions, and more point towards the three men known as the West Memphis
Three , to be the real killers.
In the case of the three murdered eight year olds, West Memphis police department s investigative
work led to a numbered list of suspects. Some of the suspects were quickly ruled out while others took
a little more investigative work. In the end, the list of suspects was shortened until all who remained
were Christopher Morgan, Mr. Bojangles, John Mark Byers, Terry Hobbs, and the ... Show more

Christopher was associated with the three victims because he used to drive an ice cream truck in West
Memphis, and his parents lived two houses away from the Hobbs family. Morgan was picked up for
questioning along with his friend, Brian Holland, in Oceanside, California by the police. Christopher
testified that he was kept locked up even though he was not in the police s custody, he was never read
his rights, and he spent seventeen hours in interrogation over two sessions. After approximately
thirteen hours of interrogation, Morgan gave a confession that he might have killed the three boys
because he might have blacked out , which was later proven to be false due to a solid alibi and lack of

Estate Executor
SERVING AS AN estate executor isn t for the faint of heart. It can seem like an honor, at first. When
people make out their wills, they typically name a trusted person as their executor, who then has a
legal responsibility to distribute their property according to the wishes of the deceased, and make sure
all debts and creditors are paid. But in addition to lots of paperwork and deadlines, the job often
comes with a minefield of family issues. And worst of all, executors can be sued. Here are some of the
biggest mistakes executors want to avoid: Paying bills too quickly Often an executor will start
receiving the deceased s mail and paying credit card bills and other invoices as they arrive, says Debra
Doyle, shareholder at the law firm Greenberg ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Magill says. In most states, the executor has an obligation to conserve, but not to increase, the value of
the assets during estate settlement. Mishandling real estate Real estate is often one of the hardest
assets to administer, says Ms. Doyle. One beneficiary might be living in the house, while another
might want it sold quickly. The executor must decide the listing price and the commission to pay the
real estate agent, Ms. Doyle says. Unless amicable decisions can be reached among all of the
beneficiaries, the executor may be forced to seek probate court assistance, she says. In addition, real
estate agents may recommend certain improvements to the property before the sale. Before
authorizing any improvement, the executor needs to consider whether he or she is authorized to spend
estate assets to make such improvements. Executors also should be careful not to hold on to a house
for too long. Insurance companies don t like to insure empty houses for extended periods, Ms. Doyle
says. If the home is vacant, the executor also needs to beware of maintenance issues. If a pipe breaks,
significant damage can be done before anyone discovers it. Repairs can cost thousands of dollars and

Course Review on The Era of Technological Evolution Essay
Every chapter in this course was very informative in its own way. Every era has experienced a
technological evolution, what matters the most is who adapts and get benefited from that technology.
One of the chapter which was very interesting was the The information systems and the Design of
work. Information technology in today s world has touched a new height whose motto is to make
things simpler. It was only with the help of technology we are able to shrink our desktop computer so
small that now we can make it fit easily in our pockets (Mobile Phones) (Arvind, Richard Ann, 2005).
One of the concepts which were focused is the fusion of IT in today s life. The IT effect has affected
almost every field and this statement is supported by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The second concept which is according to me is in the chapter Governance of information Systems
Organization. The main description about the IT governance process is that the decision making rights
in the company are being divided among the stakeholders who are in the enterprise and this will also
help to make and monitor the strategic and crucial decisions of the IT (Ryan, 2004). This chapter also
mentioned about the three models of governance which are centralized, decentralized and federal.
With the advancement of the information technology, the need of Information security and governance
has increased a lot. Every organization stores data which is an important asset to them. This misuse of
technology had led hackers to get into the company s system and steal or provide harm to their data.
So, in order to safe guard its data, a company has to follow a security framework or practices. This is
possible with the implementation of Information security strategies, security policies, etc. I work in
the security and compliance department at CMS at one of my work is to do the gap analysis on the
existing IT policies and update them in according to the NIST (National Institute of Security and
Technology) and COBIT (Control Objectives for Information and Related Technology) standards. The
IT security policies of CMS are being followed my many agencies and as I work in the security
department, I came to realize the importance of security as even a single loop hole is

Miss Julie and Swedish Culture
Miss Julie and Swedish Culture
The play Miss Julie by August Strindberg is set in Sweden in the late 1800 s on the count s estate. The
play unfolds on Midsummer s eve throughout the night of the annual celebration. Jean, a thirty year
old valet, is attempting to enjoy an evening in the kitchen with his lover Christine who works
alongside Jean on the manor as a cook. The couples evening is rudely interrupted by miss Julie, the
count s bitter daughter, who requests Jean be her dance partner at the festivities. The two risk being
caught together to continue talking through the night. However, throughout the night both Jean and
Julie reveal who they really are which leads them to resent one another and eventually leads Julie to
take her own life. Her suicide is the focus of the dramatic play but the theme of honor and respect pair
together to guilt the young lady to her end. August Strindberg s play Miss Julie is an accurate
depiction of late 1800 s Swedish culture is every respect.
It is not a coincidence that the play Miss Julie hits the cultural bulls eye. The writer Johan August
Strindberg was born in Stockholm, Sweden in 1849 and was a citizen of Sweden for a majority of his
life. Many of the themes of the play such as socio economic classes, religion, and gender roles
doubled as themes of Strindberg s life. In his autobiographical novel The Son of a Servant (1886),
Strindberg underlines the class difference between his parents as one source of the conflict in his

The Kingdom of the Netherlands
The Kingdom of the Netherlands
The country called the Kingdom of the Netherlands, or more often simply the Netherlands, is an
intriguing place. Common images associated with this country include decorative wooden shoes, large
white Dutch hats on little girls, elaborate systems of dikes, wooden windmills, and fields of colorful
tulips. A land of diverse and varied history, the Netherlands has overcome intriguing struggles in many
centuries, impacting the world despite its diminutive size. Among the smaller countries in Europe, the
Netherlands ranks thirty first out of forty five countries. The country has many valuable assets, such as
the famed Ruhr industrial zone lusted after by the ambitious Germans in World War II. It would be ...

The country also shares an eastern border with Germany.
The mouths of three major European rivers converge in the Netherlands: the Rhine, Maas (or Meuse),
and Schelde. The heritage of the Netherlands is equally interesting. Though the country celebrates
unique traditions, such as St. Nicholas Day a holiday based on the life of a generous bishop the
earliest recorded history comes from the time of the Roman Empire. The Romans built forts and
warred successfully against the natives of the region, known as Batavians. Later, the Batavians
rebelled. Though they ultimately lost, they gained a tax exempt status within the Empire. The Dutch
proudly consider the perky Batavians to be their founding fathers. Like the rest of Europe, the region
became a feudalistic society during the Holy Roman Empire. Pope Urban II s encouragement in the
late eleventh century led drew the Dutch into the crusades. Later, the powerful Hapsburg family (1477
1515) entangled the country in religious wars and unsuccessful struggles for emancipation from the
Holy Roman Empire. Caught up in the aftermath of the Reformation, the country even came under
control of the Roman Catholic Philip II of Spain (husband of Bloody Mary of England). A
predominantly Protestant region as a result of the Reformation, the country resisted Phillip and the

The Conflict Between The Protagonist And Antagonist In The...
In the film Mean Girls, the storyline is primarily driven by the conflict between the protagonist and
antagonist. The main character, Cady Heron, is both. Reasons why she could be the protagonist are
that she is innocent, kind hearted, and also very smart and honest. In the beginning of the film, Cady
doesn t know how high school works. Guys such as Jason, sexualize her and she does not really
understand what he s talking about. This is where her innocence and her misunderstanding of what he
said to her takes place. After this, Cady s kind heart steps in. Cady is told by Janis and Damian about
the horrible Plastics at the school. They explain what they do and how they work. Even though Cady
hears about how awful they are,she decides to give them a chance anyways. She sits at lunch with The
Plastics and ends up going to the mall and hanging out with them and later on becomes their friend.

from her superiority of The Plastics, someone will have to take Regina s place, and Gretchen and
Karen could both agree that Cady would be the next Regina. Another time where Cady could be seen
as being the next Regina George is whenever she won Spring Fling Queen. Cady is chosen because
after Regina s accident, the student body thinks that she will fall into Regina s place as being the
leader of The Plastics. Cady struggles with fitting in but she comes to realize that being popular doesn

Pros And Cons Of The Impostor Syndrome
Do you suffer from the Impostor Syndrome? The Impostor Syndrome was first acknowledged in the
1970s. People who have it do not accept their own accomplishments, dismiss them as luck or timing,
and believe they are deceiving the outside world. It is found more often in high achievers than in the
general population. While the Impostor Syndrome was thought to be more prevalent in women than
men, research proves otherwise. In her 2013 book The Charisma Myth, Olivia Fox Cabane reports that
two thirds of several recent incoming student populations at Stanford Business School feel their

that can result in business growth. On the other hand, there are some positive outcomes from this
Syndrome. Society benefits from innovation and growth as people who are recognized for their
successes strive to prove their worthiness saving more lives, increasing profits, or pushing their
abilities. To address the consequences of the Imposter Syndrome, we need to recognize it in others and
in ourselves. Famous actors and actresses such as Meryl Streep, Denzel Washington, and Michelle

Discipleship Research Paper
Introduction Making disciples is the all encompassing purpose of the church. Many churches do a
tremendous amount of work toward the goal of making disciples, but sometimes it is in an unhealthy
manner. Just as a healthy person is going to have the most positive productivity in life, a healthy
church will also have the most constructive output of discipleship. In this paper, I will explain how a
healthy church is the goal for discipleship. In addition, I will examine my personal church context and
identify the top three areas that I need to focus on to create a healthier body of Christ. Finally, I will
discuss some initials steps that can be made to improve its spiritual health.
The Goal The apostle Paul refers to the church as the body of Christ. 1 Corinthians 12:12 says, For as
the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one
body: so also is Christ. The church is one body and all who are baptized are one in Christ. Just as a
body can and should be healthy, a church body can and should be healthy as well. Putman et al. says
that a healthy church looks and acts like a healthy body. While studying to be a registered nurse years
ago, I had the opportunity to dive deep into study of the systems of the body. The body is
tremendously complex and each system works with one another to make the body function as a whole.
If one part of the body is suffering, many times it negatively impacts other parts of the body.

Nazi Party s Ascent To Power
During the period of 1933 to 1945, the treatment of the Jewish people by the Germans changed and
was influenced by the ideals and beliefs had by the Nazi Party in power at the time. This event in
history is named the Holocaust and the changes that occurred during this time will be accounted for in
this report. In the lead up to 1933, the Nazi Party worked to gain the support of the German people by
presenting them with the idea of a perfect Germany. This desirable Germany would be traditional,
hard working and abolish the Republican system of government for which they believed was the
source of all hardships experienced in Germany after the commencement of WW1. It was presented to

From as early as the 11th century, the Jewish race was looked upon as having rebelled against the true
religion of Christianity throughout Christian Europe. This clash of beliefs ultimately led to outbursts
of hatred towards the Jewish people in what became known as violent pogroms. Pogroms were seen
throughout Europe up until as late as the 20th century and anti Semitism movements were experienced
during the Weimar Republic in Germany. Many right wing organisations blamed the Jewish people for
the loss of WW1, claiming that they did not serve properly at the front line and were instead profiting
from the war itself. This hatred grew at the commencement of the war, when Jewish politician,
Matthias Erzberger, who had openly opposed it in 1917, subsequently signed the Armistice. The
Germans saw the signing of the Armistice and later on the Treaty of Versailles, as an admittance of
guilt for the cause of the war and believed that they were now seen as weak and cowardly among other

Spain And Spanish Culture
When examining any culture, pieces of other ideologies and cultural normalities different than the
foremost culture prevail, intertwining different cultures together. Spain, historically, has been known
to be a passing point for a wide variety of religious groups. During the ancient world, Christian,
Muslim, and Jewish peoples coexisted, each ultimately contributing to Spanish culture. Starting
around 701 C.E., Muslim forces began to expand into areas around the Middle East, gradually
broadening this land mass to reach Spain. Initially, Arab invaders were met with vigorous resistance;
however, as time went on, invaders experienced little opposition, allowing them to reap city after city.
Within the newly Arab conquered cities, other religious groups faced little discrimination.
Additionally, this conquest established the ever present influence of Islam on Spanish culture. In this
case, Spain adopted Islamic cultural innovations such as: forms of writing, religious aspects,
architectural styles, and materials supplied for said architectural innovations. Trailing into the modern
world, traces of Islamic culture are evidently intertwined into Spanish culture. Due to Spain s rich
history in interweaving cultures, it can be said that Spanish culture is intensely influenced by Islamic
culture through the invasion of Arab military in medieval time, visually retaining influence through
culture, religion, and architecture.
At the beginning of the early 700s, Muslims from the Arabian Peninsula began their conquest by
convincing nearby Germanic tribes to surrender; though it was not until they travelled across the
Straits of Gibraltar and attacked around 711 that their expansion truly began. As stated earlier, other
religious groups within Muslim Spain faced little discrimination. This impartial society could be
explained by the Treaty of Tudmir. This treaty promised that [Christians] will not be coerced in
matters of religion, their churches will not be burned, nor will sacred objects be taken from the realm
(Treaty of Tudmir). Islamic forces continued their invasion and took control of Zaragoza, Spain by

Descriptive Essay About Sea Animals
It was dark outside. Clouds loomed over the skies as I walked into the enormous colorful building.
Blazing rays of LED lights shone through the entrance s translucent windows. Brightness and gleams
engulfed my vision like a wildfire. My eyes blink, trying to focus where I was walking. As I paced
myself through the crowded corridors of the large hallway trying to find my group of friends, I could
see murals of sea animals everywhere and signs directing where each exhibit was. Animated and
overjoyed, I pranced to the first exhibit where the baby sand sharks were. They were extraordinary,
swimming around their tank but sadly not able to leave their confined space. Their tank only allowed
them to swim continuously in circles. Although animals in captivity tend to live longer than animals in
the wild, it is depressing to mull over how they were stripped of their freedom. There was nowhere to
escape when housed in such small enclosures.
While exploring the intriguing domain, I stared wide eyed in the dim rooms, my face was illuminated
by the glowing tanks while fish and other marine life gawked at me. It was as if they wanted me to
join them or aid them to escape their aquatic prison. It was depressing to be so close to them, to be
only separated by glass, but unable to save them. Many animals could have been violently captured
from their homes with no hope of ever being reunited with their true families. The stress of hearing to
kids crying, people clapping, loud music,

Exrna Essay
Aim 2 is to test the hypothesis that exRNA produced by Cn during host infection of the CNS is a
detectable molecular biomarker for cryptococcal infection. It is well known that physiological
differences exist between pathogens grown during in vitro versus in vivo conditions. In Cn,
differences exist in the production of virulence factors such as melanin and capsule in the laboratory
under nutrient rich conditions compared to tissue culture medium and in the host. Furthermore, these
physiological differences affect the organism s sensitivity to antifungal drugs, and are also likely to
affect production of biomarkers such as exRNAs [29]. A significant body of data is emerging that

Furthermore, macrophages infected with Leishmania spp. release exosomes that target gene
expression in other macrophages [44]. Trypanosoma cruzii infected cell types such as lymphocytes,
monocytes and erythrocytes release microvesicles expressing TGF that helps mediate parasite
invasion of host tissues [45]. Given the mounting evidence pertaining to EV release by infected host
cells, we are confident that we will be able to detect fungal derived EVs released by infected
macrophages in vitro.
J774A.1 cells of the appropriate passage stage will be collected, counted, assessed for viability and
seeded into flasks to grow overnight. Cells will be treated with stimulating medium containing 50 U/

Essay on Comparing Othello and The Great Gatsby
All tragedies eventually end in chaos; however, Othello and The Great Gatsby both begin with
innocent characters thinking little about the possibility of disarray. During the climax of both works it
becomes evident that the idea of order is doomed, inevitably leading to a bounding spiral of problems.
The Great Gatsby and Othello both end in chaos because the protagonists, Othello and Gatsby are
outsiders entering an ordered society. The actions of many characters cause confusion in the storyline,
and the chaos in both works gradually impact the downfall of every character.

This brings about chaos, as Daisy has been unaware of Gatsby s illegal ventures and how he made his
money. Jay Gatsby and Othello are easily manipulated by other characters because they are both
outsiders. Being outsiders, both protagonists dramatically stimulate chaos in the plot.
Both Shakespeare and Fitzgerald want the reader to understand that sometimes many characters can
be to blame for the chaos that occurs. One may think that the downfall of the plots happen solely
because of the actions of the protagonists, Gatsby and Othello, when in reality, many other characters
are to blame. In Othello, Iago is behind Othello s deception making him believe that his wife,
Desdemona is unfaithful. Iago uses the other characters as pawns in his game to achieve his main
objective, obtaining the spot as lieutenant. During a party at Cyprus, Roderigo convinces Cassio, upon
encouragement by Iago, to drink and have a good time. This ends in a fight between Roderigo and
Cassio who then says, reputation, reputation, reputation (Shakespeare 2.3.281). Cassio is expressing
his sadness as he is in fear that he has ruined his reputation after Othello dismisses him from his place
as lieutenant. Iago s plan has begun and he has already played his first move, adding to the already
visible chaos. Unlike Iago, Gatsby is not trying to manipulate the other

Analysis Of The Book Three Days
Three days. It had been three days since Jason had woken up on the snowy hill. That s all the
information he recalled besides his name. There were two others, ones who had woken up. All three of
them with no memory, not of the world, but just themselves. The air was thin. The cold bitter air blew
fiercely across the desolate snowy landscape. Dense fog had made it near impossible to see beyond the
hill. Not like there was much to see besides thousands of snow covered trees. For three days nothing
unusual has popped up, no signs of anything. No signs of other people. Maybe they had lived there all
their lives. Jason thought he might as well think that as far as he was concerned since they had
nowhere to go. Find anything, Philip? Jason asked eagerly while chopping wood. The axe he held was
primitive, as were all things the trio used. Made of a sharp rock and a strong branch, tied together with
tree bark. Nope Jason, the second one, named Philip, meekly replied, just ice, snow and trees going on
for miles. Well let s just, uh, keep gathering wood. By tonight we should have enough to finish up the
roof for our shelter, Jason decided. Yeah, Philip sighed, showing his indifference, let s do that. Almost
instantly after waking up on the hill, Jason had known exactly what to do. He immediately started
ordering Philip and the other man, Ray, to gather wood, food and resources. Ray of course had other
plans. He had no interest in group work.

Gymnastics Persuasive Essay
My level five year at gymnastics was problematic and an overall frustrating year. I wanted to quit. The
gymnastics meets were difficult because I had a slim chance of finding success in this demanding
sport. I sat my mother down on my living room couch and told her this. She, being the kind hearted
mother she is, told me that she understood how competitive a sport like this can be. I agreed, but I
knew that to give up too soon would not be the best solution. Reaching my goal of obtaining a first
place award on an event would not be easy, but I convinced myself that I had to try. For a ten year old

Instead of a medal, I received a small purple bag addressed to me. I opened it and noticed a small stuff

Toni Morrison and Historical Memory
Most of literature written by American minority authors is pedagogic, not toward the dominant
culture, but for the minority cultures of which they are members. These authors realize that the
dominant culture has misrepresented minority history, and it is the minority writers burden to
undertake the challenge of setting the record straight to strengthen and heal their own cultures.
Unfortunately, many minorities are ambivalent because they vacillate between assimilation (thereby
losing their separateness and cultural uniqueness) and segregation from the dominant culture. To
decide whether to assimilate, it is essential for minorities to understand themselves as individuals and
as a race. Mainstream United States history has dealt with the ... Show more content on

This interest in the past is integral to the ways in which alternative cultures oppose and subvert the
dominant culture that has historically both repressed and assimilated them (Singh 18). Morrison s
fiction is based upon actual historical events; however, she goes much further by utilizing the concept
of rememory that she values. Morrison has developed and written about different types of memory in
her novels including rememory, disrememory and social or collective memory. Social memory is an
expression of collective memories and experiences of individuals who are members of larger groups
(families, neighborhoods, communities and cultures). This collective memory is a source of historical
knowledge which provides a cultural group with material for conscious reflection. (Fentress, 26).
Through social memory, groups are identified as having a common history. Collective memories are
considered true memories because as a group they present multiple witnesses of a single past. Social
memory can be documented, but sometimes there is no written source. However, the significance of
social memory lies in the fact that the members of the group believe the memory to be true.
Oftentimes, an individual s memory can become hazy over time; however, the combination of several

Who Is Julius Caesar Tragic Hero
In the play by William Shakespeare, The Tragedy of Julius Caesar, Julius Caesar is the dictator of
Rome. The Senate of Rome is not pleased with Caesar as a dictator; nor do they want Caesar to
become a King. Some members of the Senate, Conspirators, worked to kill Caesar to prevent him
from becoming king, in effort to protect the Republic of Rome. Because of the way Caesar had
bettered Rome and the way he died many consider him a tragic hero. It is debated who the real tragic
hero is: Julius Caesar or Marcus Brutus, a conspirator who plots to kill Caesar. To be a tragic hero a
character must possess three traits: a status of nobility, a tragic flaw, and accept his or her fate.
Throughout the play it is clear that Julius Caesar has all of the required traits. Julius Caesar is the true
tragic hero in the play. In 44 B.C., Julius Caesar was the most powerful man in the world. Caesar had
taken control of Gaul, grew wealthy, and raised an army in eight years time. With Caesar s return to
Rome, he defeated Pompey, one of his former allies, and took power over Rome. ... Show more

Essay on Analysis of The Great Wave off Kanagawa by Hokusai
The Great Wave off Kanagawa by Hokusai is a famous woodcut print that is commonly referred to as
The Great Wave. Hokusai Katsushika was one of the greatest Japanese printmakers of the 19th
century. The print, The Great Wave, is a part of a 36 piece series of the views of Japan s most famous

popularity, Hokusai decided to extend the series to 46 pieces. The original piece was created around
1830 and was published in 1832 by Nishimuraya Yohachi. Within this paper, I will be discussing the

Although, there is implied texture that we can see within the painting; the lines, values, and shadows
can create an implied texture. An example within the print would be the tips of the wave, Hokusai uses
shadows and rigid lines to create texture of the waves turning into mist. The bottom of the wave is a
smooth line, creating the texture of slick water being sucked up to the top of the giant wave. There are
many values within this print, but only constitute a handful of colors: Blue, brown, black, white, and
gray. Blue is the main color within this print, there are many values of the color blue used. The deepest
part of the waves are the darkest blue, while the parts of the waves closest to the surface are lightest
blue or white. The sky has a gradient, which is going from the lightest color to the darkest color or
vice versa; the sky is creating a gradient, from the bottom up, of black to a very light gray, then to a
white yellow. The colors chosen by Hokusai can also interpret feelings and emotions. The habitual
feeling when seeing the color blue is sadness. Sadness and despair would be fitting emotions for this
work, due to the giant wave about to crash upon the men in their boats. Blue can also emit a feeling of
elegance. The composition of the print and how the lines of the wave flow can be considered a form of
elegance. The next group of

As armed citizens, we face unique challenges. We must use a series of skills in tandem, creating the
challenge of managing diverse strategies, tactics, techniques and tools, while most of our training is
separated. Mixed Martial Arts once faced this challenge, each art specializing in a subset of technical
skills that lead to a reduced ability to deal with different styles of attack, eventually the essential
fundamentals were fused in cohesive core. The same conundrum faces the armed citizen. Developing
the fundamental skills of communicating, moving, hands in a defensive position, and presenting the

Compression is the length of the arms of both the attacker and defender, or a distance that allows the
gun to be grabbed. The compressed position allows us greater control over the firearm. Extension is
the end of the draw, arms extended in our final firing position. This the best position to use our sights
and control the firearm, if there is adequate space. Beyond contact range we find several positions that
occur needing practice to solve the timing issue of maintaining trigger finger and muzzle discipline.
One of these is the hand on the gun and the support hand extended to the threat, possibly emphasizing
the command of stay back, or handing valuables to the attacker. Practice bringing the support hand
back rapidly to the chest , moving to the side, thus ensuring we don t shoot ourselves when we draw.
The concealed, or surreptitious draw using our body to conceal our draw with a distracted adversary,
is an area of concern. Muzzle and trigger discipline needs to be strictly followed. There is a tendency
to sweep the firearm to the target, muzzling ourselves and others, conversely slowing the presentation

Jennifer Popevec in Management Matters emphasized that mentoring has changed from another word
for training to building long=term relationships to help young people excel both personally and
professionally. Mentoring is for someone who really wants to help someone develop to the next level,
and you can t separate the personal from the professional. Mentoring usually ends up as a form of
training or coaching because it is easier than investing part of you in another person s successes and
failures.
Jennifer Popovec explains that there are four generations and each generation needs different things
from mentoring. The silent generation is stepping out of leadership roles but often remain in the
workplace. The new leaders are coming from the baby boom generation and the older Gen Xers. The
baby boomer and older Gen Xers are looking form long term, relationship driven mentoring. The
young Gen Xers and Millennial have some very obvious weaknesses that can be addressed by
mentoring. Gen Xers tend to be tech savvy but overall are more vulgar and less courteous than other
generations. Millennial tend to have few problems with courtesy, but have been overprotected by their
parents and now need extra coddling to adjust to work life.
From advice on what to wear to establishing a strong work ethic to suggestions on where to take a

mercantilism is that national wealth will came through the accumulation of gold or other precious

Behavior and Relationship Observation
Behavior observation Conformity is a general concept that refers to changing one s behavior which is
caused by another person or group.in other words it results to someone acting in some way due to the
influence they got from others (Kenrick, Neuberg, Cialdini, 2007). For the purpose of this paper, I
have made the assumption that the people I am observing are a couple taking into account the
preformed ideas of how couples do behave. I have also made an assumption that that they are in a love
relationship and they are married. For people who are in a relationship they have to try and understand
each other. They also have to conform their behaviors according to their partners so that they can
understand each other more in the relationship. Conformity is not an easy concept especially when one
is required to make major behavior changes in their lives. Therefore there are pre conformity
behaviors that could be observed in the man before he fully demonstrated a conforming behavior. The
pre conforming behavior was such as constantly forgetting what he was expected to do since this was
a relatively new thing for him. There were instances where he totally forgot or did what was expected
of him halfway without completion. There are several types of conformities which include; normative
conformity. Normative conformity involves an individual changing their behavior so that they can fit
well into a particular group (Kenrick, Neuberg, Cialdini, 2007). Normative influence comes

Stalin s Power Of The Communist Party Essay
How was Stalin able to assume control of the Communist Party by 1929?
The assumption of power by Joseph Stalin was arguably one of the most significant periods of
Bolshevik Russia s history. Stalin is recognised as one of the most influential men to have ever lead
Russia, and he did so through the largest war the world has ever faced, World War II, and through the
beginning of one of the most tense periods of modern history, the Cold War. It is easy however, to get
lost in the legacy Stalin left behind, and forget about the events leading up to his total control over the
communist regime of the 20th century Russia.
During his reign as the near absolute ruler of the Soviet Union, Stalin incited a plethora of atrocities,
notably the manufactured famines, purges, and labour camp imprisonments. Stalin was able to be the
primary blame for the death of an estimated 20 60 million people, with nearly no regard for human
life. (Ghosh, 2013)
Throughout his journey to power, Stalin faced several blockades and proved his leadership worthy by
defeating them and coming out a stronger politician. Examples like Vladimir Lenin s dying testament
to the Communist Party, and the turmoiled years of the struggle for power in the Politburo, are all
examples of which Stalin has bested his opponents. An abundance of evidence in both the life and
times of Joseph Stalin, and a hundred years of speculation of the USSR, should lead for an interesting
debate with multiple perspectives. Ultimately, by

that the success of German athletes in the games would reveal Germans (Aryans) dominance to the
world. He argued that spectacular Nazi Games would show to the world that Germans are sports
enthusiasts capable of staging a magnificent athletic festival. Beside visitors would go home to their
countries believing they had nothing to fear from Nazi Germany. Therefore, Hitler emphasized on
recruiting German athletes and extending sports facilities for Olympics competitions. Ultimately the
Nazi party burned the candle at both ends to ensure successful games. In April 1933, a new racist
policy was established: Jewish or part Jewish and Romani athletes were thoroughly disbarred from
German sport facilities and associations. Numerous regulations and rules were created by the Nazis to
shut out Jews from all aspects of German society. Some of the Jews eliminated from the Olympic

Advantages Of A Strong Federal Government
In late eighteenth century America, the ideal form of government was widely contested. When the
American colonies were under British rule, they were subject to the almost tyrannical British
government, in which they were not fully represented. After the colonies achieved independence, two
main political factions emerged: the Republicans and the Federalists. The Republicans, scarred by the
overbearing British government, advocated for a weak federal government with individual state
governments, which prevented the concentration of power in a single party and promoted a form of
more direct representation. However, this system proved to be ineffective, for the federal government
s lack of power was dangerous and inefficient. The Federalists, on the other hand, supported a strong
federal government. Cognizant of the negative implications of local state governments, the Federalists
published a series of essays during 1787 and 1788 that supported the stronger national government
that resulted from the Constitutional Convention. In Federalist no. 51 , James Madison, a key
component of the Federalist movement, described the role of government and its relationship with the
people. He wrote,
If men were angels, no government would be necessary. If angels were to govern men, neither external
nor internal controls on government would be necessary. In framing a government which is to be
administered by men over men, the great difficulty lies in this: you must first enable the

How Diversity Is A Unique And Beautiful Final Project
Puzzle My World is the lesson that I will teach to kindergarten students in Social Studies. The Big
Idea in my conceptual lesson plan is Diversity ; how the ideas of many different people and cultures
can come together to make something wonderful. I plan on basically making a puzzle of all the
different kids who each put their original ideas and personalities on each puzzle piece to make it a
very diverse and beautiful final project. I believe this will help kids understand that diversity is a
wonderful part of living in America, because no two people are exactly the same. I was inspired by
this because of the art piece I saw that showed many different colored triangles that all fit together to
make one wonderful work of art. When I saw it, it instantly reminded me of a classroom, or a family.
After realizing this I believe that this specific lesson will be very beneficial in teaching diversity. The
TEKS involved will be 113.11 (A1, A5). TEKS 113.11 A1 states Students explore state and national
heritage by examining the celebration of patriotic holidays and the contributions of individuals . Many
children this young do not understand that we are not all from the same place. In kindergarten, before
going to school, they may have only talked to family, and some friends from Pre K; this doesn t give
them much sense of where anyone is from or their cultures. Although some parents at home try and
teach their child that being different, or being the minority is not

Alzheimer s A Progressive, Degenerative Disorder
Alzheimers A Progressive, Degenerative Disorder Imagine a wife and husband being married for 44
years and having one of them not remember who the other is, or their past life together. The film Away
From Her (Egoyan, et al., 2006) shows viewers how the disease can greatly impact your life, and how
quickly it can form. The film was based off of a short story The Bear Came over the Mountain by
Alice Munro (Munro, 2013). In both works, the author and the director portray a significant struggle
between a husband and wife dealing with Alzheimer s.

But I can look again (Egoyan, et al., 2006). This quotation is meant to portray Fiona in a light manner
and show how much her brain is starting to deteriorate, and that she is aware of it. The setting is the
same in both works; Fiona s parents cottage in the hills of Canada, snow on the ground, and a very
serene view. The film (Egoyan, et al., 2006) goes through several states of emotional stress between
the couple. First being denial. Grant is in denial for most of the film. He does not want to believe that
his wife is slowly leaving him emotionally. It also hurts him that she cannot remember much about
their marriage but can remember the infidelity. He then begins to feel some guilt because he finally
realizes how much he had hurt Fiona during his time of infidelity. In the short story (Munro, 2013) it
tells you about Grants infidelity, however in the film (Egoyan, et al., 2006) the director just eludes to
the fact that there was infidelity in the marriage. Fiona, however, does not seem to go through much
denial saying, Don t worry darling, I expect I m just losing my mind (Egoyan, et al., 2006)
Climax
The climax in the both the story(Munro, 2013) and the film (Egoyan, et al., 2006) is when Grant
comes back to Meadowlake after the thirty days and finds Fiona has forgotten all about him and has
taken up with Aubrey. Fiona cares for Aubrey as a child but

Homecoming Donald Bruce Dawe Essay
Australians are known for their bravery and mateship. Defending our country at war is a significant
part of the Australian identity. Donald Bruce Dawe who was a soldier during the Vietnam War has

piece was written for the soldiers who returned home and the ones that lost their lives fighting for
Australia.

With the repeated use of the word to and the the audience gets to understand what the mental state of
the soldiers was like and how it would affect them in years to come. Men who had wives and children
at home, just like mine, just like my family. This line makes the audience step into the shoes of the
character in the story. It makes them think about their family and what it must have been like for these
people to be forced to go to war. With the use of alliteration, Cook has been able to create a rhythmic
pattern of AABB in his poem. Examples of this are The Pomp the pride I felt in the parade and lived

Autism And The Diagnostic And Statistical Manual Of Mental...
Autism is defined as the brain disorder that begins in early childhood and persists throughout
adulthood. Autism affects three areas of human development: (1) verbal and nonverbal
communication, (2) social interaction, and (3) creative or imaginative play. Autism is considered a
severe disorder and developmental disability that prevents individuals from properly understanding
what they see, hear and sense. The cause of autism remains unknown. Current theories indicate a
problem with the function or structure of the central nervous system. This essay overviews the history
of autism and the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM). It provides an idea of
the population and causes of autism. It takes about the program services and the current operational
issues related to autism.
History of Autism
Autism may appear to be a new topic because of its prevalence in recent years. But autism has been a
thought for more than 70 years. Historically autism was originated by a Swiss psychologist and
psychiatrist named Eugen Bleuler in the 1912. Autism first appeared in the Diagnostic and Statistical
Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM I) in 1952, under Schizophrenia and classified as extreme isolation
or withdrawal from social life. By 1968, the term autism was removed from the Diagnostic and
Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM II) and replaced with the word autistic but still under the
diagnosis of schizophrenia. In 1980, Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of

Differences Between Imperialism And Imperialism
Sovereignty The supreme authoritative rule over a country that is usually self governing and reserves
the right to be independent instead of interfering in other countries affairs. Contrariwise, no other
power, individual, government, or entity may have the jurisdiction to supercede said sovereign power.
Imperialism A powerful nation or entity that transcends their authority upon other countries and states
that are not as strong in an effort to take control. The idea of imperialism originates from the belief
that if the stronger nations around the globe have the ability and the resources to counterbalance the
issues of other countries then they should use those capabilities to take control and stablise them.

towards the panama canal and that he will take drastic measures to attain his personal goals of the
betterment of the United States. Roosevelt also has the appearance as a very determined person and an
intense credence of imperialism which is explained in writing in Roosevelt s Case for Supporting the
Panamanian Revolution, 1903 and The Roosevelt Corollary, 1904 . In the documents mentioned above
and the cartoon, he feels an acute need to intervene in the province of other nations not conducting
themselves properly and, in the event that they do not, to act with imperialistic beliefs with aggressive
reforms. Yes from my perspective it would be an accurate representation of the events that precipitated
in Panama. For one, President Roosevelt was very aggressive how he went about the action and how
controversial the action was when he approached congress with it. He clearly intruded upon Colombia
s sovereignty. In fact, American Passages had this to say about it, Roosevelt s infringement on
Colombian sovereignty produced hard feelings in Latin America.. (468). The Panama Canal
movement caused bitter dissension in the government and he faced a lot of opposition. Many felt that

Vampire Diaries Characters
The T.V show The Vampire Diaries is a CW teen drama series that involves danger, romance, action
and suspense. The show is not just about vampires and werewolves, but it also has other supernatural
elements such as hybrids, witches and vampire hunters. Let s just say that even though it s compared
to the Twilight movies, The Vampire Diaries is an old fashion love story where you can expect the
unexpected. Where the audience can also connect with the character s situations. Even though it s a
fictional show, it involves real life situations that an ordinary person can go through. The producer
Julie Plec did a beautiful job with the plot, the relationship of the characters, how the show itself
connected with the audience, and the setting.
Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev), recently an orphan, lives in her hometown Mystic Falls with her aunt
and her younger brother Jeremy, who got involved in drugs after his parent s death. Stefan Salvatore
(Paul Wesley), is a vampire who later meets Elena in school and takes an interest on her. Stefan is a
good vampire that can control himself around humans and can survive on animal blood. But he is later
surprised with the arrival of his brother, Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder). Damon is the opposite
as his brother, he is more of a bad boy who doesn t care what other say and does whatever he wants.
Both take an interest on Elena because she resembles an old love of Damon and Stefan from 19th
century. As the show goes on we see how Elena makes

Worldwide Top 10 hotels.
Starwood has over 897 hotels worldwide which shows the large operational scale. Starwood has
grown by 3.0% in one year (in Rooms) and this shows how rapidly the company is expanding and

There is a major growth possible in the developing countries (Ferguson and Hlavinka, 2006). This
would help them improve market presence and also help them spread their brand far and wide across
the world. The travel and tourism industry is a booming one here and the company will be able to
make its mark in the area.
The group has large opportunities to get into franchising with third party to spread the brand. Also
opening of restaurants would help them create more public awareness and help the brand be
popularized (Ferguson and Hlavinka, 2006).
The business travel that was affected by the drop of the US markets can now be recovered and
improved. This would open up avenues for the Element hotels that specifically deal with business
travelers.
Also a small part of Starwood s revenues are earned from resort ownership. This now is set for rapid
growth, which should also help increase the revenues.
Threats:
Starwood has shown a good growth rate of 3.0%, according to figures in table 1. However competitors
growth rate is a threat to the group as well. In table 1 Hilton has shown a growth of 5.30% increase in
rooms in one year, this could cause a major threat to the group.
As mentioned above, the company has over 50% of its operations in US, this makes it very dependent
on the US markets and adverse happening in the markets would also affect the company to a great

Technology has become an increasingly dominant means of communication as it allows for information to be stored and shared across great distances. Since its introduction in 2007, approximately 43.7 million Kindle e readers have been sold as of late 2014 (Trefis Team 2014). The Kindle does not seek to replace physical books; rather it uses technological convergence to store dense digital information on small, portable physical spaces. This isn t to say that new mediums have replaced older formats altogether; on the contrary, they have altered them to suit the change in how we communicate. One could argue that the decline of traditional media at the hands of media convergence prompted the incorrect presumption that old media was being superseded by the new (Lugmayr Dal Zotto 2015, pp. 4). Conversely, modern commentators have argued that new and old media interact across different media forms and platforms. Jenkins asserts that new media technologies enabled the same content to flow through many different channels and assume many different forms (2006, pg. 10). Acland (2007) echoes this sentiment, reiterating that new digital media refashion old media formats. The beefy aroma made my mouth water. The Chile Verde smothered on top of the burrito tingled my nose. The rice had an essence of chicken broth and all these ingredients were inside a soft flour tortilla. The Papa Burrito looks very large and wide with a lot of flavor inside. I grab a fork and when I cut into the burrito I saw a mound of beef with melted cheese dripping off from the fork. Surrounding the burrito was the orangey rice and brownish warm beans on the right of my plate was a pile of fresh green lettuce topped with a reddish slice of tomato. • 5. West Memphis Three Men Research Paper Murder begins where self defense ends. This quote from Georg Buchner can be used to describe the tragic deaths of three little boys who were rendered defense less against their attackers. On May 5, 1993 in West Memphis, Arkansas, three young second grade boys, by the names of Christopher Byers, Steven Branch, and Michael Moore, were brutally murdered after being beaten and hogtied by their own shoelaces. A year later, Damien Echols, Jason Baldwin, and Jessie Misskelley were convicted and sent to prison for this heinous crime. Even though the three men were convicted for the crime, there is still great controversy as to who actually killed the three boys. Throughout all this controversy, evidence, testimony, confessions, and more point towards the three men known as the West Memphis Three , to be the real killers. In the case of the three murdered eight year olds, West Memphis police department s investigative work led to a numbered list of suspects. Some of the suspects were quickly ruled out while others took a little more investigative work. When people make out their wills, they typically name a trusted person as their executor, who then has a legal responsibility to distribute their property according to the wishes of the deceased, and make sure all debts and creditors are paid. But in addition to lots of paperwork and deadlines, the job often comes with a minefield of family issues. And worst of all, executors can be sued. Executors also should be careful not to hold on to a house for too long. Insurance companies don t like to insure empty houses for extended periods, Ms. Doyle says. Every era has experienced a technological evolution, what matters the most is who adapts and get benefited from that technology. One of the chapter which was very interesting was the The information systems and the Design of work. Information technology in today s world has touched a new height whose motto is to make things simpler. It was only with the help of technology we are able to shrink our desktop computer so small that now we can make it fit easily in our pockets (Mobile Phones) (Arvind, Richard Ann, 2005). The main description about the IT governance process is that the decision making rights in the company are being divided among the stakeholders who are in the enterprise and this will also help to make and monitor the strategic and crucial decisions of the IT (Ryan, 2004). This chapter also mentioned about the three models of governance which are centralized, decentralized and federal. With the advancement of the information technology, the need of Information security and governance has increased a lot. Every organization stores data which is an important asset to them. This misuse of technology had led hackers to get into the company s system and steal or provide harm to their data. Many churches do a tremendous amount of work toward the goal of making disciples, but sometimes it is in an unhealthy manner. Just as a healthy person is going to have the most positive productivity in life, a healthy church will also have the most constructive output of discipleship. In this paper, I will explain how a healthy church is the goal for discipleship. In addition, I will examine my personal church context and identify the top three areas that I need to focus on to create a healthier body of Christ. Finally, I will discuss some initials steps that can be made to improve its spiritual health. The Goal The apostle Paul refers to the church as the body of Christ. 1 Corinthians 12:12 says, For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ. The church is one body and all who are baptized are one in Christ. Just as a body can and should be healthy, a church body can and should be healthy as well. Putman et al. says that a healthy church looks and acts like a healthy body. While studying to be a registered nurse years ago, I had the opportunity to dive deep into study of the systems of the body. • 21. Spain And Spanish Culture When examining any culture, pieces of other ideologies and cultural normalities different than the foremost culture prevail, intertwining different cultures together. Spain, historically, has been known to be a passing point for a wide variety of religious groups. During the ancient world, Christian, Muslim, and Jewish peoples coexisted, each ultimately contributing to Spanish culture. Starting around 701 C.E., Muslim forces began to expand into areas around the Middle East, gradually broadening this land mass to reach Spain. Initially, Arab invaders were met with vigorous resistance; however, as time went on, invaders experienced little opposition, allowing them to reap city after city. Within the newly Arab conquered cities, other religious groups faced little discrimination. Additionally, this conquest established the ever present influence of Islam on Spanish culture. In this case, Spain adopted Islamic cultural innovations such as: forms of writing, religious aspects, architectural styles, and materials supplied for said architectural innovations. Trailing into the modern world, traces of Islamic culture are evidently intertwined into Spanish culture. Due to Spain s rich history in interweaving cultures, it can be said that Spanish culture is intensely influenced by Islamic culture through the invasion of Arab military in medieval time, visually retaining influence through culture, religion, and architecture. At the beginning of the early 700s, Muslims from the Arabian Peninsula began their conquest by convincing nearby Germanic tribes to surrender; though it was not until they travelled across the Straits of Gibraltar and attacked around 711 that their expansion truly began. As stated earlier, other religious groups within Muslim Spain faced little discrimination. This impartial society could be explained by the Treaty of Tudmir. This treaty promised that [Christians] will not be coerced in matters of religion, their churches will not be burned, nor will sacred objects be taken from the realm (Treaty of Tudmir). It is well known that physiological differences exist between pathogens grown during in vitro versus in vivo conditions. Essay on Comparing Othello and The Great Gatsby All tragedies eventually end in chaos; however, Othello and The Great Gatsby both begin with innocent characters thinking little about the possibility of disarray. During the climax of both works it becomes evident that the idea of order is doomed, inevitably leading to a bounding spiral of problems. The Great Gatsby and Othello both end in chaos because the protagonists, Othello and Gatsby are outsiders entering an ordered society. There were two others, ones who had woken up. All three of them with no memory, not of the world, but just themselves. The air was thin. The cold bitter air blew fiercely across the desolate snowy landscape. Dense fog had made it near impossible to see beyond the hill. Not like there was much to see besides thousands of snow covered trees. For three days nothing unusual has popped up, no signs of anything. No signs of other people. Maybe they had lived there all their lives. Jason thought he might as well think that as far as he was concerned since they had nowhere to go. Find anything, Philip? Jason asked eagerly while chopping wood. The axe he held was primitive, as were all things the trio used. Made of a sharp rock and a strong branch, tied together with tree bark. Nope Jason, the second one, named Philip, meekly replied, just ice, snow and trees going on for miles. Well let s just, uh, keep gathering wood. By tonight we should have enough to finish up the roof for our shelter, Jason decided. Yeah, Philip sighed, showing his indifference, let s do that. Almost instantly after waking up on the hill, Jason had known exactly what to do. He immediately started ordering Philip and the other man, Ray, to gather wood, food and resources. Ray of course had other plans. He had no interest in group work. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

These authors realize that the dominant culture has misrepresented minority history, and it is the minority writers burden to undertake the challenge of setting the record straight to strengthen and heal their own cultures. Unfortunately, many minorities are ambivalent because they vacillate between assimilation (thereby losing their separateness and cultural uniqueness) and segregation from the dominant culture. Morrison has developed and written about different types of memory in her novels including rememory, disrememory and social or collective memory. Social memory is an expression of collective memories and experiences of individuals who are members of larger groups (families, neighborhoods, communities and cultures). This collective memory is a source of historical knowledge which provides a cultural group with material for conscious reflection. (Fentress, 26). Through social memory, groups are identified as having a common history. Collective memories are considered true memories because as a group they present multiple witnesses of a single past. Social memory can be documented, but sometimes there is no written source. However, the significance of social memory lies in the fact that the members of the group believe the memory to be true. • 30. Who Is Julius Caesar Tragic Hero In the play by William Shakespeare, The Tragedy of Julius Caesar, Julius Caesar is the dictator of Rome. The Senate of Rome is not pleased with Caesar as a dictator; nor do they want Caesar to become a King. Some members of the Senate, Conspirators, worked to kill Caesar to prevent him from becoming king, in effort to protect the Republic of Rome. Because of the way Caesar had bettered Rome and the way he died many consider him a tragic hero. It is debated who the real tragic hero is: Julius Caesar or Marcus Brutus, a conspirator who plots to kill Caesar. To be a tragic hero a character must possess three traits: a status of nobility, a tragic flaw, and accept his or her fate. Throughout the play it is clear that Julius Caesar has all of the required traits. Julius Caesar is the true tragic hero in the play. In 44 B.C., Julius Caesar was the most powerful man in the world. For the purpose of this paper, I have made the assumption that the people I am observing are a couple taking into account the preformed ideas of how couples do behave. I have also made an assumption that that they are in a love relationship and they are married. For people who are in a relationship they have to try and understand each other. They also have to conform their behaviors according to their partners so that they can understand each other more in the relationship. Conformity is not an easy concept especially when one is required to make major behavior changes in their lives. Therefore there are pre conformity behaviors that could be observed in the man before he fully demonstrated a conforming behavior. The assumption of power by Joseph Stalin was arguably one of the most significant periods of Bolshevik Russia s history. Stalin is recognised as one of the most influential men to have ever lead Russia, and he did so through the largest war the world has ever faced, World War II, and through the beginning of one of the most tense periods of modern history, the Cold War. It is easy however, to get lost in the legacy Stalin left behind, and forget about the events leading up to his total control over the communist regime of the 20th century Russia. During his reign as the near absolute ruler of the Soviet Union, Stalin incited a plethora of atrocities, notably the manufactured famines, purges, and labour camp imprisonments. Stalin was able to be the primary blame for the death of an estimated 20 60 million people, with nearly no regard for human life. (Ghosh, 2013) Throughout his journey to power, Stalin faced several blockades and proved his leadership worthy by defeating them and coming out a stronger politician. Examples like Vladimir Lenin s dying testament to the Communist Party, and the turmoiled years of the struggle for power in the Politburo, are all examples of which Stalin has bested his opponents. When the American colonies were under British rule, they were subject to the almost tyrannical British government, in which they were not fully represented. After the colonies achieved independence, two main political factions emerged: the Republicans and the Federalists. The Republicans, scarred by the overbearing British government, advocated for a weak federal government with individual state governments, which prevented the concentration of power in a single party and promoted a form of more direct representation. However, this system proved to be ineffective, for the federal government s lack of power was dangerous and inefficient. The Federalists, on the other hand, supported a strong federal government. Cognizant of the negative implications of local state governments, the Federalists published a series of essays during 1787 and 1788 that supported the stronger national government that resulted from the Constitutional Convention. In Federalist no. 51 , James Madison, a key component of the Federalist movement, described the role of government and its relationship with the people. I believe this will help kids understand that diversity is a wonderful part of living in America, because no two people are exactly the same. I was inspired by this because of the art piece I saw that showed many different colored triangles that all fit together to make one wonderful work of art. When I saw it, it instantly reminded me of a classroom, or a family. After realizing this I believe that this specific lesson will be very beneficial in teaching diversity.
