The Prague Spring is referred to when the Warsaw Pact allies invaded Czechoslovakia in 1968. In
1948, communism was the only political party in Czechoslovakia. The communist take over was a
very popular movement. One reason why it was such a popular movement is because Joseph Stalin
signed an agreement with Winston Churchill and Franklin Roosevelt that stated that, the Red Army,
which would then lead to pro communism, would liberate Czechoslovakia. The second reason why
this was such a popular movement is because the people of Czechoslovakia remembered what
happened with the Munich Agreement, where most of Czechoslovakia was surrendered to Nazi
Germany in 1938.
By the early 1950s, Czechoslovakia was a Soviet style dictatorship and a loyal ally of the Soviet
Union (Goldman 123). Antonin Novoty was appointed the head of Czechoslovakia in 1952 by Joseph
Stalin. Novoty was not well liked by the Communist Party. He refused to make changes to the political
system, thinking that it would improve the Soviet s political influence in Czechoslovakia. In 1967,
many very popular writers rebelled against him. It made it more difficult for Novoty to establish
policies. The Communist Party then asked him to resign in January 1968.

commercial in question is found on YouTube, and it s made in USA. KFC is a fast food chain that sells
fried chicken, amongst other things, and is especially popular is the US.
To summarize the commercial it starts with a few women being displayed, all thinking about what to

The fact that they have a special price is great, but just putting a picture on the screen is not what we
want to see. As mentioned before, the music is suiting to the commercial, however it hasn t any
excitement to it. In the whole, the clip has an old feel to it, in a negative way. It is an old commercial,
which makes it rather obvious that it will look old, but that part is not appreciated by everyone today.
There are a few things that could be modified to make it better, for example the special price. To make
it more interesting, it should be moving after a few seconds, for instance display someone enjoying the
two for one meal. The ancient feeling is a bit hard to remove without remaking the entire commercial
today, but maybe that s a good thing. This commercial isn t like the rest and perhaps that s what people
like about it. If I received the chance to make some small adjustments I would probably start with
finding them a catchphrase.
To wrap it all up, KFC has really succeeded with this commercial, it s convincing and looks delicious.
There is a slight problem though, I m a vegetarian, therefore I won t buy the product. I also happen to
know the truth behind the meat industry and do not wish to support it. My opinions however, do not

INTRO
Hamlet is a tragedy by William Shakespeare where the main character, Hamlet,
Thesis: In William Shakespeare s Hamlet mythological and biblical allusions informs us of Hamlet s
inevitable fall.
Throughout the play, Hamlet uses many mythological allusions to show his feelings towards other
characters such as Claudius, Gertrude and the old king as well as inform us of his fall . After Queen

Hamlet uses Hecuba to exaggerate the difference between the queen in the play who is full of grief
and sorrow, and Queen Gertrude who has remarried quickly and shows little to no emotion for the
death of her first husband. Another example occurs during Hamlet s soliloquy when he imagines his
mother, Like Niobe, all tears (Ham. I. ii. 151). Hamlet not only wishes his mother would mourn and
take revenge, but he also implies responsibility for his father s death. In Greek mythology, Niobe
boasted she had many children and as a result, the gods came down and murdered her children.
Painters and sculptures have portrayed Niobe as a crying woman because of her guilt she felt knowing
she caused her children to die. The fact that Hamlet uses these comparisons suggests his mother is

The De Pere Area Chamber Of Commerce
I started my internship with the De Pere Area Chamber of Commerce in the first week of June.
Beginning my internship I wasn t sure what to expect. I had ideas about what I was going to be doing,
but wasn t sure. Whether the task was big or small I knew I wanted to contribute. At the De Pere Area
Chamber of Commerce I tend to work Monday through Friday. On Monday through Thursday I
usually work 10am to 3pm. However, I work a second job bartending at the Hyatt in Green Bay.
Sometimes the hours overlap and I am forced to leave my internship early. On Fridays I go into my
internship, but for limited time. Normally, I go to work for 10:30am to 12pm or longer, depending on
what my director needs from me. On average I work at the Chamber 20 22 hours a week. The average
can be less or more depending on what is being worked on. So far my work has been diverse at the
Chamber of Commerce. In the beginning I wrote on press releases (announcing my hiring at the
Chamber), I wrote a intern description and worked on improving their website. As time went on, I
worked with them to help organize certain events. The De Pere Chamber hosted Art in the Park and is
currently hosting their annual charity golf outing. With the events I did things like, call sponsors,
follow up with people, pick up posters for the events and met up attendees and collect their payments.
